  Good morning, day 44. Shorter walk today than yesterday, about 15 kilometres.

  That will take us from Palastare to Malide, dreary day.

  Woke up this morning, checked the weather, one degree Celsius was the temperature

  and cloudy with a chance of rain.

  Well, it's just very low-hanging grey clouds.

  It's been drizzling this morning, not heavy rain, but enough to make you put

  on your wet weather gear or you're going to get wet and cold.

  And we're just sort of reminiscing and trying to remember all the different

  parts of this stretch of the walk from 2017.

  We're going through the bush. It looks like there's been a bit of a planting
• 1:15
  program here to plant some Australian eucalyptus trees.

  We think that's to soak up some of the groundwater that sort of tends to lay around this area.

  We come from such consistent weather in the Territory where you sort of split
• 1:36
  the year almost in half, don't you?

  Wet, dry, build up.

  And the temperatures are pretty consistent and the humidity is pretty consistent

  given the time of the year where this is very erratic.

  We go from it being hot and sunny and clear blue skies to cold and wet and rainy.

  It's all part of the experience, but it's something that we're not used to.

  Sherilyn, do you remember this stretch of the walk? No, I don't remember this particular stretch.

  I did remember the one before where we just went through the underpass.

  And I thought we went into a pine forest after that, but we haven't.

  We've come into a village.

  But I did say yesterday I felt day one and two were all bled together.

  Could be day one, two, and three that's bled together in my memory.

  No, not this part. Yeah, well, several years from now, actually probably even

  a couple of weeks from now, days one through to 43 will all bleed together from this walk.

  I don't want to get hot and don't want to get wet, So I'd say blue skies and

  not too hot and not too cold, so I'd say cold.

  So just like Goldilocks there, not too hot, not too cold, just right in the middle there.

  We'll see how today goes. Well, we've made it here to Malidae,

  and the Galician region, from what we understand, is one of the wetter regions

  of the Camino, and it didn't disappoint today.

  Yes, it was a day where we had a little bit of rain as we walked.

  The temperature also seemed to drop quite rapidly as well today.

  It was a cold day and was very thankful that I didn't pack my big jumper in

  the bag that went forward.

  One of the delicacies that Galicia is known for is the octopus,

  and I had that here in Malidae.

  It was delicious, probably a little bit overpriced, but it was delicious.

  Glad I've tried that. So tomorrow, another 15 kilometres into Arzua,

  and then the final two days, 20 kilometres each day, that will get us into Santiago.
