- 0:00Speaker 1: Yo, what I mean? It's another edition of that bouleg
- 0:03Speaker 1: Cap podcast episode number almost thirty, that's for sure, not
- 0:08Speaker 1: quite thirty. I think it's twenty eight, twenty eight. It's
- 0:11Speaker 1: twenty eight, episode number twenty eight with the homie J Mills.
- 0:14Speaker 1: What a crazy day. First of all, got a shout
- 0:16Speaker 1: out everybody who got nominated for Grammys, Roddy Rich the Baby,
- 0:22Speaker 1: But most importantly, the Rap Album of the Year category
- 0:26Speaker 1: was revealed, and boy was there a lot of rappin'
- 0:29Speaker 1: ass rap on that category. Freddie gibbson Alchemist Alfredo headlining
- 0:35Speaker 1: the Album of the Year nominations for Alfredo. Then of
- 0:41Speaker 1: course you have a Jay Electronica's album, D Smokes Project,
- 0:46Speaker 1: Royce the Five Nines Project, and NASA's King's Disease. So
- 0:52Speaker 1: some real dope rap music got nominated for Grammys. I
- 0:55Speaker 1: think personally, there was some obvious snubs in the Album
- 0:59Speaker 1: of the Year category. There's no way you do Album
- 1:01Speaker 1: of the Year and not put Roddy Rich in there. Also,
- 1:05Speaker 1: Run the Jewels Killer, Mike LP Run the Jewels four
- 1:08Speaker 1: should have been in that talk probably would have left
- 1:12Speaker 1: off D Smoke, probably would have left off Jay Electronica,
- 1:17Speaker 1: if I'm being honest, Shout out to jay great project,
- 1:20Speaker 1: but you know, the whole album jay Z just kind
- 1:23Speaker 1: of washed him. Nonetheless, I hope Freddie Gibbs wins. It's
- 1:27Speaker 1: my favorite album of the year. And congratulations to Gangs,
- 1:30Speaker 1: the Gibbs and the Alchemists for being nominated finally because
- 1:33Speaker 1: they got snubbed last year. Him and Madlib got snubbed
- 1:36Speaker 1: last year. But I digress. YO dope episode this week.
- 1:40Speaker 1: Shout out to j Mills formerly of Young Money. You know,
- 1:42Speaker 1: it's crazy because we had him come up just to
- 1:44Speaker 1: do a freestyle. The freestyle's out right now on our
- 1:46Speaker 1: YouTube page. But then we started to just shoot the
- 1:49Speaker 1: shit with him and we're like, Yo, you should come
- 1:52Speaker 1: in and do an interview because he's got so much
- 1:53Speaker 1: crazy insight into the Young Money world because he was
- 1:56Speaker 1: signed a Young Money for about a decade and was
- 1:58Speaker 1: around for so many history moments. So this interview with
- 2:03Speaker 1: J Mills. By the way, he's got a new album
- 2:05Speaker 1: out go support that. But it really was us just
- 2:07Speaker 1: kind of diving into his time with Young Money and
- 2:09Speaker 1: him sharing some pretty dope stories about his time around
- 2:14Speaker 1: Drake and Nicki and Wayne for the last decade or so,
- 2:18Speaker 1: so I hope you enjoyed the episode. Shout out to

- 3:19Speaker 1: it's the bluele Camp podcast. Man, we got the homie
- 3:21Speaker 1: J Mills. Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah yeah. What's up man?
- 3:23Speaker 1: Welcome sir? What up? What up? All right? Man? You
- 3:27Speaker 1: got a new project that's officially out. Woodpan walls. By
- 3:30Speaker 1: the time this is out, it'll be out. Yeah, woodpano
- 3:33Speaker 1: walls with wood painted walls, wood panel, wood panel walls. Yeah.
- 3:37Speaker 1: So what's that? What's that like in a car you
- 3:40Speaker 1: get the wood panel you know what it is? It's like, Uh.
- 3:43Speaker 1: I grew up in New York City and Boston Heights,
- 3:45Speaker 1: so a lot of those apartments was The architecture was
- 3:48Speaker 1: real old school. It might have all, I know, the
- 3:50Speaker 1: kind of walls you're talking. Yeah, it might have like
- 3:52Speaker 1: five six rooms, but when you first come in, it's
- 3:54Speaker 1: a long hallway, but it'll be a room on this side,
- 3:58Speaker 1: then the room here, then a kitchen in the room here.
- 4:00Speaker 1: Then So my grandmother had one of those apartments, right,
- 4:04Speaker 1: And when I was born, I was living in my
- 4:06Speaker 1: grandmam's crib. She from down South, had eleven kids, so
- 4:10Speaker 1: the house was very busy, but I'm a virgo, so
- 4:15Speaker 1: my memory bank is incredible. Like I can remember things
- 4:19Speaker 1: that I probably shouldn't remember and I didn't even try
- 4:22Speaker 1: to remember. But the woodpanel wallshit, it's stuck out, you
- 4:26Speaker 1: know what I'm saying, Like rest in peace to my
- 4:27Speaker 1: grandmom's too. Yeah, they got him trailed in my uncle's trailer.
- 4:32Speaker 1: It's like wood, but it's not real wood. Is that
- 4:34Speaker 1: what used to be on side of the station wagons too? Yeah?
- 4:37Speaker 1: I think so, you know Grizzwall Ride Wile World. Yeah,
- 4:41Speaker 1: it's something like that, like threes think like Three's Company, Like,
- 4:45Speaker 1: you know, you got to look panels all and my
- 4:48Speaker 1: Grandmam's crib was all like that. So when I went
- 4:52Speaker 1: to do this project, kind of like what we was
- 4:53Speaker 1: talking about the other day, I've come from an era
- 4:57Speaker 1: of the radio record the street single to this record,
- 5:02Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. So this was the first
- 5:04Speaker 1: time I was like, man, fuck all that, let me
- 5:05Speaker 1: just record. Let me record a story, you know what
- 5:10Speaker 1: I'm saying. I got so many stories, so many memories.
- 5:11Speaker 1: Let me just record some ship that I could paint
- 5:14Speaker 1: a picture from track one to track whatever's going to
- 5:17Speaker 1: be the last one, no radio records. It ain't no
- 5:19Speaker 1: party shit, no strip club shit. It ain't really too
- 5:22Speaker 1: much with a bounce. But if you listen to it
- 5:23Speaker 1: from beginning to end, it's a good story. Now I
- 5:27Speaker 1: first knew of you from your battle and days. Yeah,
- 5:30Speaker 1: way back in the day. It's a long time now
- 5:34Speaker 1: we're getting we get in the years agoing like I
- 5:36Speaker 1: didn't even know you. Just battled the nets again recently
- 5:38Speaker 1: because I remember the original Yeah shouted shouting nets. You
- 5:41Speaker 1: know that was an RB situation. He was in the band, right, Yeah,
- 5:45Speaker 1: he was in the band, And this is a big
- 5:46Speaker 1: thing people don't hate. He was the only one that
- 5:48Speaker 1: was dope in there. I think people I think I
- 5:51Speaker 1: think people think I was trying to be a part
- 5:54Speaker 1: of the band. Like I never was auditioning for the band.
- 5:57Speaker 1: I was never trying to be in the band. It
- 5:59Speaker 1: was just like did he call me and nit a
- 6:01Speaker 1: battle nest? That's really all it was. I wasn't that
- 6:04Speaker 1: was probably like was that like the first like like
- 6:05Speaker 1: your biggest look at the time was to do at
- 6:08Speaker 1: that time, that might have been my biggest look. I
- 6:10Speaker 1: was still doing like street, But I don't know if
- 6:12Speaker 1: I had no No No out yet. I don't think
- 6:14Speaker 1: I had I don't know if I had the Warner
- 6:16Speaker 1: Brothers deal yet. I think I was still doing like
- 6:18Speaker 1: battling mixtape type shit. But yeah, I mean coming. I
- 6:21Speaker 1: mean obviously, you go from the Battle world where you're
- 6:24Speaker 1: like a legend, and then you had the No No
- 6:29Speaker 1: No record. I remember having that right now final yeah yeah.
- 6:33Speaker 1: But then there's like a whole other wave of people
- 6:34Speaker 1: who just know you from being from Young Money. So
- 6:38Speaker 1: you and Wayne and the Young Money situation, Uh, how
- 6:42Speaker 1: like when did that start and how did it initially
- 6:44Speaker 1: happen because at the time, it was what just you
- 6:46Speaker 1: and Nikki. They were from the East Coast from New York.
- 6:49Speaker 1: It was me and Nicky. But he was fucking with
- 6:51Speaker 1: Cory Guns too shot Oh yeah yeahyah. Well, I mean
- 6:53Speaker 1: I don't know if Guns was I don't know if
- 6:55Speaker 1: Guns I don't think he ever signed officially, but I
- 6:56Speaker 1: don't know if he was signed or whatever yet. But
- 6:58Speaker 1: I remember he had the Millie remix Yah, and he
- 7:00Speaker 1: was fucking with guns. I feel like he was on
- 7:02Speaker 1: the original Yeah yeah, yeah. Guns might have been around
- 7:06Speaker 1: Young Money before me. Guns and NICKI might have been
- 7:09Speaker 1: around Young Money before me, but nothing was really solidified.
- 7:12Speaker 1: Nicky was definitely around around, but me and Guns was
- 7:15Speaker 1: kind of like Wayne just fucked with us. He just
- 7:18Speaker 1: liked that rapping type shit. But yeah, that was that
- 7:21Speaker 1: was that situation. I think around the time I started
- 7:24Speaker 1: fucking with Wayne might have been like two thousand and seven.
- 7:29Speaker 1: I want to say like two thousand and seven because
- 7:31Speaker 1: this is the situation with me and Wayne. I'm explaining this.
- 7:34Speaker 1: I had a song called how Had a Player? And
- 7:38Speaker 1: I don't know if people knew or not, but I
- 7:40Speaker 1: wasn't signed to Universal no more. This is like when
- 7:42Speaker 1: Sylvia Ron came over and everything changed, like and you know,
- 7:49Speaker 1: like I said, I'm from the radio era. I'm from
- 7:51Speaker 1: that era of the single and all of this shit.
- 7:53Speaker 1: So I'm trying to just keep my record going because
- 7:54Speaker 1: I know I don't got no deal no more. So
- 7:57Speaker 1: I'm doing shit like this is it six. I'm doing
- 8:02Speaker 1: shit like recording myself, taking the curses out and texting
- 8:08Speaker 1: DJ Enough or DJ Camillo or k Slade like or
- 8:11Speaker 1: flex like y'all got this new record? Now? This is
- 8:14Speaker 1: usually coming from a department. Now, it's like you're sending
- 8:21Speaker 1: me a shit directly. Well, all right, cool, we fuck
- 8:23Speaker 1: with you, So yeah, just send it. And now I
- 8:26Speaker 1: started getting radio play, and I'm like, damn, I'm noticing.
- 8:30Speaker 1: I'm getting play like mixed show played twice a day.
- 8:33Speaker 1: You might get the rush hour play. You might get
- 8:35Speaker 1: the traffic hour, traffic jam play, seven o'clock play. You know,
- 8:39Speaker 1: later on somebody else come on to twelve. I might
- 8:41Speaker 1: have heard my shit four or five times today. I
- 8:43Speaker 1: don't got no deal with my mom's crib real shit.
- 8:48Speaker 1: And I'm like, I can't go on to another record.
- 8:51Speaker 1: I'm smart enough to know that I cannot go on
- 8:53Speaker 1: to another record. I got son going right now. So
- 8:57Speaker 1: I hit Wayne right like, uh, I got this record.
- 9:02Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying. It's bubbling in New York
- 9:04Speaker 1: right now. If you want to jump on, and I
- 9:05Speaker 1: sent it to you. I'm really just taking a shot
- 9:08Speaker 1: in the dark. I don't I don't know if he
- 9:10Speaker 1: gonna get on this shit or not. But I had
- 9:12Speaker 1: a record called Bring It Back with Jada Kiss, and
- 9:15Speaker 1: then I did a remix with Wayne and Fab. Wayne said,
- 9:19Speaker 1: come to the studio. I shot the Fab shot the kiss.
- 9:22Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying. Granted, they was they busy
- 9:25Speaker 1: but Wayne told me come to the studio and did
- 9:29Speaker 1: it that night and then charged me nothing. This is
- 9:32Speaker 1: when he doing like three hundred records in it. So
- 9:34Speaker 1: in my mind, I'm like, I'm just taking shit. I'm
- 9:38Speaker 1: shooting from half court in a dark gym on all
- 9:41Speaker 1: of these moves right now. I don't know what's gonna happen.
- 9:44Speaker 1: Send him the record. He send the record back next day.
- 9:47Speaker 1: So my brother is like the super little Wayne fan
- 9:50Speaker 1: at this time. He like, BROH heard that verse before.
- 9:54Speaker 1: I'm like, no, he just did this verse with me
- 9:56Speaker 1: last night. He said, not, bro I heard that verse before.
- 9:58Speaker 1: IM gonna be real like he ain't want to say
- 10:00Speaker 1: like that, but he's like he pulled the verse up,
- 10:03Speaker 1: all sorts of egg all on my face now. So
- 10:05Speaker 1: now I'm faced with the decision. Do I act like
- 10:08Speaker 1: I do not know that this man said this verse
- 10:10Speaker 1: already and still put this song out, or can I
- 10:13Speaker 1: just hit him and just be like, yo, I appreciate it,
- 10:16Speaker 1: but I can't put this out, you know, blah blah.
- 10:17Speaker 1: And he was like, oh my fht blah blah blah blah.
- 10:20Speaker 1: Next day, sent me another verse back and said some
- 10:24Speaker 1: shit in the junk like Miles had to tell me
- 10:25Speaker 1: stop recycling verses, and since I don't write it, I
- 10:28Speaker 1: recited in cursive. I was like, oh, that's personalized for me.
- 10:32Speaker 1: That ain't like he just gave me a verse from
- 10:35Speaker 1: some a dedication mixtape that didn't come out right. So
- 10:38Speaker 1: now I'm like, oh, that shot you took in the
- 10:41Speaker 1: dark gym, you hit the rim on that shit like
- 10:45Speaker 1: you might could stand in this dark gym a little more,
- 10:46Speaker 1: but just try to get closer to where you hit
- 10:48Speaker 1: the rim at. So now I'm like, yo, look man,
- 10:50Speaker 1: I ain't got no situation. I know you're doing the
- 10:52Speaker 1: young money shit. You know what I'm saying. If I
- 10:53Speaker 1: coul come play some music, he said, you don't got
- 10:55Speaker 1: no deal? Coury right back. So I'm like, oh, I'm
- 11:00Speaker 1: done on that verse like that versus a dub. He's not.
- 11:04Speaker 1: I don't got no budget. I don't he knows now
- 11:06Speaker 1: I don't have money to give him for the verse.
- 11:09Speaker 1: He caught me back with Taz on the phone. He's like,
- 11:10Speaker 1: when can you get on a flight? He said, but
- 11:12Speaker 1: tell me this again. You said you don't got no vert,
- 11:14Speaker 1: no deal, right, I said, nah? He said, well when
- 11:16Speaker 1: can you get on a flight to Miami. Now I'm
- 11:18Speaker 1: in Harlem. I'm like, I get on a flight yesterday.
- 11:23Speaker 1: He started laughing. After that flight, I was young money
- 11:27Speaker 1: until I wasn't young money no more. Yeah, I mean
- 11:30Speaker 1: so that was six. That was like, oh that's around
- 11:33Speaker 1: six o seven. It was around. It was right before
- 11:36Speaker 1: you know how reason three was right before the car three.
- 11:39Speaker 1: When I got around. I remember the first time out.
- 11:42Speaker 1: He flew me out. After that conversation, I went to
- 11:44Speaker 1: the Hit Factory and when he walked in, he started
- 11:46Speaker 1: just playing me a bunch of music and shit, and
- 11:49Speaker 1: I remember he played Lollipop. I'll never forget this shit.
- 11:53Speaker 1: This is when I was like, oh yeah, I gotta
- 11:55Speaker 1: step my shit up a whole lot like that. I'm
- 11:58Speaker 1: a nice rapper, it's a huge I was like, I'm
- 12:00Speaker 1: a good rapper. He's a great artist. And I have
- 12:04Speaker 1: no problem at all. I have no problem with saying
- 12:06Speaker 1: that because Wayne is my man. I love Wayne unconditionally.
- 12:09Speaker 1: He showed me shit that no other friend showed me.
- 12:12Speaker 1: No of a homie, no of a businessman, of a ceo,
- 12:14Speaker 1: no of a rapper. He showed me. And it was
- 12:17Speaker 1: hard on me with that ship too. But I learned
- 12:19Speaker 1: a lot, so I'm like, I'm like, damn, what the
- 12:23Speaker 1: fuck is this? But it sounded like the T Pain.
- 12:25Speaker 1: T Pain was killing everything at this time. But now
- 12:28Speaker 1: I'm I know Wayne from Dad, and now it's like
- 12:35Speaker 1: I'm like, I'm like, damn, how he do that shit?
- 12:37Speaker 1: Like now he playing me a bunch of shit? He
- 12:40Speaker 1: played me got money. Now I had had to beat
- 12:43Speaker 1: for got money from playing skills or they had played
- 12:46Speaker 1: me like, you know, beat that gaming to beat, so
- 12:48Speaker 1: I knew. I was like, oh I heard this ship before,
- 12:50Speaker 1: all right, let me just sit here and listen to
- 12:51Speaker 1: his version. I was like, oh shit, he got T
- 12:54Speaker 1: pain on it. That's what that's the plan that they played.
- 12:56Speaker 1: When they played me the song like oh he I
- 12:59Speaker 1: was like, woy, I wouldn't have not made this song
- 13:00Speaker 1: like this, right, Glad they didn't get a ship to me, Like,
- 13:03Speaker 1: I'm so glad they didn't waste this record with me
- 13:05Speaker 1: because I wouldn't have never made this this, you know
- 13:09Speaker 1: what I'm saying. So Carter three wasn't out yet. He
- 13:11Speaker 1: was still doing like college arenas and ship like that.
- 13:15Speaker 1: It wasn't like the I Am music. It was still
- 13:18Speaker 1: like and then like a lot of the Carter three leaked,
- 13:21Speaker 1: he was still performing a lot of the leak shit.
- 13:23Speaker 1: He was still performing. Were you around when the music
- 13:26Speaker 1: leaker had that already been leaked. I was starting to
- 13:27Speaker 1: come around. I was still like just doing my like
- 13:30Speaker 1: I wasn't on Universe, And I just remember like being
- 13:33Speaker 1: at because I used to slang shit at the swap meet.
- 13:35Speaker 1: They're talking my name, So I remember just having to
- 13:37Speaker 1: every little Wayne tape. There was like Carter three fucking leaks,
- 13:42Speaker 1: the drought, the droughts, and then it was like, I
- 13:45Speaker 1: mean obviously before that the squad up shit, but like
- 13:48Speaker 1: that that like era, like right before Carter three, like
- 13:51Speaker 1: the like twelve months prior, when he was just heating
- 13:53Speaker 1: up the mixtape shit. It was like that's what really
- 13:56Speaker 1: got Wayne hot up top. I mean he was already
- 13:59Speaker 1: hot since he was fucking thirteen fourteen, but I mean
- 14:02Speaker 1: like reinventing himself from being like a little wheezy to
- 14:05Speaker 1: like the fire man. Well, no one took little Wayne
- 14:07Speaker 1: like serious. No, he had to start saying, I'm the
- 14:10Speaker 1: best rapper alive since the best rapper retired, because he
- 14:12Speaker 1: had to start had to make that statement. And then
- 14:14Speaker 1: he just started. And then I remember he performed on
- 14:17Speaker 1: the BT Awards. He performed gossip. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 14:21Speaker 1: stop hating on a nigga that no remember that moment.
- 14:24Speaker 1: No hype man on like an EP. It wasn't even
- 14:28Speaker 1: on his It was a leak. It was a leak.
- 14:30Speaker 1: It was a leak. Like you didn't like Wayne once
- 14:33Speaker 1: I got around him, That's what made me realize, Oh
- 14:36Speaker 1: I remember that. I was like, oh, this is the
- 14:37Speaker 1: first single for Carter three, and then nah, he didn't
- 14:40Speaker 1: get he was one of them type people when songs
- 14:42Speaker 1: leaked him. He like like he called those dead homies
- 14:46Speaker 1: he was. I mean, yet what he did with uh?
- 14:48Speaker 1: Because you know, being the youngest dude in Cash Money,
- 14:52Speaker 1: I feel like as a rapper, there wasn't a lot
- 14:54Speaker 1: of people who with credibility that probably took him serious
- 14:58Speaker 1: until the first Carter when he started popping his shit.
- 15:01Speaker 1: That's that's around the time because five hundred degrees was whatever.
- 15:04Speaker 1: I mean, I think the block is Hot was dope.
- 15:06Speaker 1: I think if you really were a Cash Money fan,
- 15:07Speaker 1: you knew little Wayne crap. Yeah, But like people like
- 15:10Speaker 1: like you said, like once that first Carter came out,
- 15:12Speaker 1: I remember working a best buy man when that shit dropped.
- 15:14Speaker 1: That shit was I remember the first time I heard
- 15:16Speaker 1: being U being Junior. Mm hmm, is that the puttest
- 15:21Speaker 1: feeding the blades. I ain't tripping nigga. I played the
- 15:24Speaker 1: corner like ripkin Nigga with the forty. I was like, yeah,
- 15:27Speaker 1: he in a different world. But Carter two was was
- 15:31Speaker 1: when because by this time I'm deep in rap. I'm deep.
- 15:34Speaker 1: I'm an artist. I didn't have my ups, my downs,
- 15:36Speaker 1: and my high points my low points. I read credits,
- 15:40Speaker 1: I read magazines. I want to know people that go
- 15:42Speaker 1: to school late. But I'm walking in the lunch room
- 15:45Speaker 1: with the Source magazine, the Double Excel, the Blaze. I
- 15:48Speaker 1: might have the vibe that might Blaze magazine. Yeah, I
- 15:50Speaker 1: might have had fucking the free styles of people. Get
- 15:53Speaker 1: your tape decks ready last night on DJ Clue the
- 15:55Speaker 1: fucking fire Truck. I was that type of kid. So
- 15:58Speaker 1: when I heard Carter too, like, oh ship, this is
- 16:01Speaker 1: the first time I heard of Wayne album with no
- 16:03Speaker 1: many fresh production and it was dope. Now I get
- 16:05Speaker 1: to hear him compare to everybody else. Now, now damn
- 16:09Speaker 1: me rapping over the heat makers. Who the fuck are
- 16:12Speaker 1: the runners. Who you know what I'm saying. So around
- 16:15Speaker 1: that time I got with Wayne, that shit showed me
- 16:17Speaker 1: a lot. It was to bring it back full circle.
- 16:20Speaker 1: It was around that time, right before Carter three. That's
- 16:24Speaker 1: around the time I got with Young Money. Help me understand.
- 16:26Speaker 1: Uh okay, so Young Money mm hmm. There's obviously the
- 16:33Speaker 1: product of Young Money is two of the biggest artists
- 16:35Speaker 1: of all time, Drake and Nikki. But there was all
- 16:39Speaker 1: these other rappers, so many let's talk about it. There
- 16:43Speaker 1: was you, there was Gotta Gotta I mean, you know,
- 16:46Speaker 1: Macmaine was the President, but you know it was a
- 16:48Speaker 1: rapper for Shout Shout the Mac. Surprise, Mac never got
- 16:51Speaker 1: a solo album off the President. You wanted some funny shit.
- 16:54Speaker 1: When I first came around Young Money, I remember Mac
- 16:58Speaker 1: was telling me then like I want to be on
- 17:00Speaker 1: some balls ship this rapper, like he was tired of it. Then, Hey,
- 17:05Speaker 1: I'm looking at it, like, bro, you I used to
- 17:07Speaker 1: I used to send him so much ship let's get
- 17:09Speaker 1: on his beat. Let's because I was I'm a fan
- 17:11Speaker 1: of Mac Man, I'm a fan of the Squad, I'm
- 17:13Speaker 1: a fan of Win. So I wanted to just do
- 17:15Speaker 1: all Sorts Hill with everybody. And then I was the
- 17:17Speaker 1: person that used to when Wayne would fly me out,
- 17:19Speaker 1: I would bring my inbox and my computer and my
- 17:23Speaker 1: my m audio speakers in the hotel room that he
- 17:26Speaker 1: has me or would never go to the bus where
- 17:28Speaker 1: he's at. I would just be in the room just recording.
- 17:32Speaker 1: And I remember one day I think gut or Twist
- 17:34Speaker 1: told him He's like, what mails And He's like, he
- 17:35Speaker 1: upstairs recording? What are you doing? You're recording hisself? Promise you.
- 17:42Speaker 1: The next day I came downstairs on Wayne's tour bus.
- 17:45Speaker 1: He had all that ship learned how to record itself.
- 17:47Speaker 1: Oh wow, quick quick, Uh but no, but we're talking
- 17:52Speaker 1: like a vast amount of artists, like you just said,
- 17:55Speaker 1: Little Twist sew piercing right me guns Maneople, and it
- 18:03Speaker 1: seems Tiger Tiger, Nikki Drake. It just seemed like, uh,
- 18:09Speaker 1: being on young money could more too, that's the crazy
- 18:12Speaker 1: put a lot more. But it could be perceived to
- 18:15Speaker 1: be a gift in a curse. T Streets shot my
- 18:18Speaker 1: man T Streets, T Streets, But like, what why do
- 18:20Speaker 1: you think? Uh? It didn't work out for everybody, And
- 18:25Speaker 1: by everybody, I mean the majority of the artists on
- 18:27Speaker 1: the label. I tell people this all the time. It
- 18:30Speaker 1: never works out for everybody. Once you understand that, It's like,
- 18:36Speaker 1: and I'm looking at this picture of Charles Barkley right now,
- 18:38Speaker 1: and it's taking me somewhere right. I want to explain
- 18:40Speaker 1: people something. There was a lot of great people on
- 18:44Speaker 1: the Sixers when Barkley came, a lot of great people
- 18:49Speaker 1: uh on the Lakers when Kobe came. I always tell
- 18:55Speaker 1: I always tell people, I know what it feels like
- 18:59Speaker 1: to be Eddie Joe. I know what it feels like
- 19:02Speaker 1: to be Eddie Jones. Not saying that I'm not nice,
- 19:05Speaker 1: I'm not great, but I know what it was like
- 19:08Speaker 1: to be great. And somebody comes around and they are undeniable.
- 19:13Speaker 1: You can go in the studio and make the dopest
- 19:15Speaker 1: shit you want. Aubrey is undeniable. I remember the first
- 19:19Speaker 1: time Wayne let me hear successful, I was like, WHOA,
- 19:22Speaker 1: this shit is dope. The next time I heard it,
- 19:24Speaker 1: Wayne had a different verse. Said why you got a
- 19:26Speaker 1: different verse? So I sent it to Drake and he
- 19:27Speaker 1: said he didn't really he liked the verse, but he
- 19:30Speaker 1: didn't really think it went with the concept of the song.
- 19:32Speaker 1: I said, he made you do a verse over damn,
- 19:36Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. But it showed me to
- 19:38Speaker 1: respect Wayne had for him because he did the same
- 19:41Speaker 1: thing for me. He did the same thing for me.
- 19:45Speaker 1: Did it over? I respect you? You know what You're right,
- 19:48Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. So that just brings me
- 19:50Speaker 1: back to the whole. It was a lot of artists
- 19:52Speaker 1: would happened. It was a lot of artists on cash money.
- 19:56Speaker 1: It was a lot of artists on no limits, a
- 19:57Speaker 1: lot of artists on death roll. But I remember Snoop
- 20:01Speaker 1: Pot and the Dog Pound, not saying Lady of Rage
- 20:05Speaker 1: or jewell or or crook or or you know what
- 20:08Speaker 1: I'm say. It's not to say that they wasn't great.
- 20:10Speaker 1: Was a part of it after like the dark years
- 20:12Speaker 1: of death throw. It's not to say that they wasn't great.
- 20:14Speaker 1: But Nikki was undeniable, Drake was undeniable out of let's say,
- 20:21Speaker 1: if it was ten of us, because it was all
- 20:24Speaker 1: it was like ten, ten, eleven of us. It was
- 20:26Speaker 1: a lot to hit with three the way that you hit. Now.
- 20:32Speaker 1: Some people might say, males, you being a little too
- 20:34Speaker 1: cordial about that, my nigga, because you wasn't one of
- 20:36Speaker 1: those three. It's how it works sometimes, keep it moving,
- 20:39Speaker 1: figure it out. That wasn't my first stop on the train.
- 20:42Speaker 1: It's not gonna be my last. I came there with
- 20:45Speaker 1: Dil's already. A lot of people came there that was
- 20:48Speaker 1: their first time, that was their first rodeo. You know
- 20:51Speaker 1: what I'm saying. I didn't fell off the horse, did
- 20:54Speaker 1: all of this shit already, so this isn't new to me.
- 20:57Speaker 1: I know that this shit ain't gonna last forever. And
- 20:59Speaker 1: I feel like a lot of people they thought it
- 21:02Speaker 1: was gonna last forever. I think with Tiger, he had
- 21:05Speaker 1: been around, he had been with gym class heroes. He
- 21:07Speaker 1: had poking up milk. He had understood how to make
- 21:10Speaker 1: this ship work. Drake had already been comeback season. I
- 21:13Speaker 1: would almost argue that that Tiger popped despite little Wayne.
- 21:16Speaker 1: He did Wayne it tune, I Love you, I Love
- 21:20Speaker 1: you tune? All right, Tiger will tell you this. Wayne
- 21:24Speaker 1: didn't like that direction that Tiger was going in, like
- 21:28Speaker 1: make it nasty, rack city, bitch, better have my money
- 21:30Speaker 1: dancing for them dollars? Uh? What was the joint? He
- 21:34Speaker 1: had asked? So fat and neither lapped in Wayne wasn't
- 21:37Speaker 1: feeling that because you gotta understand that's not the vision
- 21:40Speaker 1: Wayne saw for him when he first met him. You Tiger, Tiger,
- 21:44Speaker 1: you like your bouncy flow like kind of like so
- 21:47Speaker 1: and sos of mischief type shit. You different You like
- 21:50Speaker 1: a real West Coast lyrical crafty with your words. And
- 21:54Speaker 1: now you going strip club or me, they don't even
- 21:58Speaker 1: really have strip clubs where you act like that, like
- 22:01Speaker 1: where it is coming from. It was kind of like
- 22:04Speaker 1: when I used to first got around Young Money. You
- 22:07Speaker 1: listen to Dedication three, my bars was like on top
- 22:10Speaker 1: of each other, on top of each other. Even anytime
- 22:12Speaker 1: I did mixtapes for Young Money, my bars was on
- 22:15Speaker 1: top of each other like that. And that's because Wayne
- 22:17Speaker 1: taught me how to differentiate it. She ain't got a man,
- 22:21Speaker 1: but she's not alone misindependent. Yeah, she got her own. Hey,
- 22:26Speaker 1: I hated that verse. That was the end of my verse.
- 22:29Speaker 1: Wayne said, naw, you know what, I think you should
- 22:31Speaker 1: start the verse off like that, because that's more like
- 22:35Speaker 1: that's a memorable and I'm just like, I don't care.
- 22:38Speaker 1: I was more until I got a bitch Nakekeisha from
- 22:40Speaker 1: around the way. She used to go to college school
- 22:42Speaker 1: back and the day he was like, oh shit, that's dope.
- 22:45Speaker 1: That's why he just wanted me to talk crazy all
- 22:47Speaker 1: day because in his mind his vision for me was
- 22:49Speaker 1: they already know you for talking crazy. You said big
- 22:52Speaker 1: in my trouble or what da da dah, and I
- 22:54Speaker 1: put a gun in your feet. We love you for that,
- 22:57Speaker 1: So you get a pass to do that, because Little
- 23:00Speaker 1: Chucky and Little Twist can't do that. They not known
- 23:03Speaker 1: for that. They gotta be kids still, you know what
- 23:06Speaker 1: I'm saying. So he had visions for all of us.
- 23:09Speaker 1: He never really wanted all of us to be like
- 23:11Speaker 1: signed to Young Money. He wanted us to be Young
- 23:15Speaker 1: Money a group and we do some Wu tang shit
- 23:17Speaker 1: and all get deals. I know, this sounds like crazy,
- 23:20Speaker 1: This sounds like yeah right, Mills he did. He never
- 23:24Speaker 1: really wanted us all to be signed to him. He
- 23:26Speaker 1: wanted to give us a platform and we go rep
- 23:29Speaker 1: Young Money and get deals and bags everywhere. But we
- 23:32Speaker 1: still like this fucking conglomerate on some shit. Because in
- 23:36Speaker 1: his mind, the Hot Boys was all solo artists. True,
- 23:39Speaker 1: so like they if Birdman could put me in the studio,
- 23:42Speaker 1: beg and juvenile. I don't want to hear y'all say
- 23:46Speaker 1: nothing about me putting y'all in the studio with a
- 23:47Speaker 1: little Chucky and Little Twists. Yeah, I mean, go Chucky,
- 23:51Speaker 1: little Twist, God bless him. Look, there was some times
- 23:53Speaker 1: that we drop off. There were some times that we
- 23:55Speaker 1: was like, tune check this out. Bro. We love you, man,
- 23:59Speaker 1: we love you, but come on, man, it's five forty
- 24:02Speaker 1: five am. Man, it's beeping looping for We don't really
- 24:05Speaker 1: want to do this. But but I knew that a
- 24:08Speaker 1: lot of to see me. I knew a lot of
- 24:10Speaker 1: the shit that Wayne used to do to us was
- 24:11Speaker 1: a test. It was like boot camp. It's a lot
- 24:13Speaker 1: of y'all. I need to see who really wanted you
- 24:16Speaker 1: know what I'm saying. I need to see who gonna
- 24:17Speaker 1: go hard? Like it ain't really about who nice. You
- 24:21Speaker 1: could be dead nice, but you might be lazy. Was
- 24:24Speaker 1: there ever? Like there's hell of rumors of internal issues
- 24:27Speaker 1: with people in Young Money. I mean, uh, you said
- 24:34Speaker 1: Chucky and Twist didn't get along. It was internal issues everywhere,
- 24:38Speaker 1: but not like not like not like beef, Like Me
- 24:42Speaker 1: and Twist had they thing because they was like they
- 24:46Speaker 1: were kids. It was like the kid who's the who's
- 24:49Speaker 1: the young money young and who's the prince of young money?
- 24:52Speaker 1: And then Chanelle and Nikki they never had a thing,
- 24:56Speaker 1: but to me it felt like it because it's like, well,
- 24:59Speaker 1: who's the lady of young Money. Yeah, I mean that
- 25:01Speaker 1: was pretty evident, not in the beginning, Not in the
- 25:04Speaker 1: beginning when we all used to have to do group
- 25:07Speaker 1: photo shoots and shit like that. You gotta remember, Nikki
- 25:11Speaker 1: was coming from Come Up DVD. Chanelle was coming from
- 25:15Speaker 1: being a songwriter and a dancer for Neo. Two different things,
- 25:20Speaker 1: totally different at that time. I'm talking about ten years ago,
- 25:26Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. It was a different thing.
- 25:28Speaker 1: Like Drake wasn't what he is now. He was like
- 25:31Speaker 1: coming from the grass Sea. He was more known for
- 25:34Speaker 1: the grassy than people respected him as a rapper. It
- 25:37Speaker 1: took a very long time for people to respect Drake
- 25:39Speaker 1: as a rapper. But I think it was so much
- 25:41Speaker 1: music we was in that digital era that once you
- 25:44Speaker 1: got so far gone, you was like he alright, no,
- 25:47Speaker 1: he was fucking incredible, but you just didn't want to
- 25:50Speaker 1: say he was incredible, because it's like, damn, Wayne's still incredible.
- 25:54Speaker 1: Then after I was like well, who's more incredible. Then
- 25:57Speaker 1: after a while it's like, damn, Nikki kind of high too,
- 26:02Speaker 1: and then you kind of for Tiger. I feel like
- 26:04Speaker 1: Tiger was the first one to get lost in it.
- 26:06Speaker 1: When I seen Tiger get lost in it, I said,
- 26:08Speaker 1: it's bad for me. Mmm, that's real shit. I'm gonna
- 26:12Speaker 1: keep it a buck. I said, it's bad for me
- 26:16Speaker 1: because Tiger had a setup, right, yeah. I don't know
- 26:21Speaker 1: if that time he was managed by Jay Irvin. I
- 26:22Speaker 1: don't know. T don't don't don't kill me for this.
- 26:25Speaker 1: I don't really know the specifics of it, but I remember,
- 26:29Speaker 1: I remember me and Gutter used to talk a lot.
- 26:32Speaker 1: Me and GUTTI start, I talked, spoke the gutta gut
- 26:34Speaker 1: over the shout, the Gutter shout to the whole young
- 26:35Speaker 1: Money period. Me and Gutter used to talk a lot
- 26:43Speaker 1: right about just the way shit was going. Because Guttter
- 26:47Speaker 1: used to he was around before me, and when I
- 26:49Speaker 1: first got the young money, Wayne told me, if you
- 26:52Speaker 1: want to know how to stay around me, like how
- 26:55Speaker 1: to if you really want to know me, stick to him?
- 26:58Speaker 1: He told me. I remember when I first came around,
- 27:00Speaker 1: he was like He's like he knows me. You know
- 27:03Speaker 1: what I'm saying. If you if you want to know me,
- 27:05Speaker 1: you want to know how not to get on my
- 27:07Speaker 1: bad side, how not to you know what I'm saying,
- 27:09Speaker 1: How to move around me? Stick to him? You know
- 27:12Speaker 1: what I'm saying. And to this day, I still talk
- 27:13Speaker 1: to Gutt to Gutter. You know what I'm saying. He's
- 27:16Speaker 1: not on your money anymore. He's so young money, so
- 27:18Speaker 1: young money. They gotta they gotta rec it out right now.
- 27:20Speaker 1: I think it's Wayne Gutter and Hood called NFL. It's
- 27:24Speaker 1: for like the prime video for Thursday Night Football. It's
- 27:27Speaker 1: like the song for some dope shit, but basically bring
- 27:31Speaker 1: it to bring it back. Gut. It was like, how
- 27:34Speaker 1: you think this shit gonna go for US malls? And
- 27:36Speaker 1: I was like, it's a chain. I was like, at
- 27:39Speaker 1: the end of the day, Drake is undeniable, Nicki undeniable.
- 27:42Speaker 1: We don't know who gonna come first out of them.
- 27:44Speaker 1: And then Wayne went to jail in the midst of them,
- 27:47Speaker 1: being like like yeah, So by the time he came
- 27:51Speaker 1: out of jail, Nicky was pink Wig, Marg Simpson. It
- 27:55Speaker 1: was like, you know, and Drake was Aston Martin music
- 27:59Speaker 1: and he was he was. He was. They was coming
- 28:01Speaker 1: into their own and then I remember six foot seven,
- 28:06Speaker 1: and then Wayne was right back to being Wayne, and
- 28:08Speaker 1: then it was like damn. Now it's like Big three.
- 28:11Speaker 1: But Tiger, me and Gutter used to always be like, damn,
- 28:14Speaker 1: Tiger putting in work. I would come out here to
- 28:17Speaker 1: Cali to see my lady and had kid on the
- 28:19Speaker 1: way at that time, and I'd be like, Tiger, keep
- 28:22Speaker 1: a song on the radio. Now maybe we in Miami
- 28:25Speaker 1: or New York, we might not hear that ship like that.
- 28:27Speaker 1: But when I used to come here before I moved here,
- 28:30Speaker 1: and I moved here in twenty fifteen, so this is
- 28:32Speaker 1: like eleven, twelve, thirteen, whatever. Yeah, I call his Molly
- 28:36Speaker 1: mal Era. When he was in Vegas for MA, he
- 28:38Speaker 1: was hitting he shit called strip hop going up, and
- 28:40Speaker 1: there was I think that's where a lot of the
- 28:42Speaker 1: he was. He was hitting, and he was like branding
- 28:44Speaker 1: himself in that lane of like bop that DJ muzzle
- 28:47Speaker 1: on that he would bring himself City Low kids the
- 28:50Speaker 1: record that really blew. Didn't feel like they was like
- 28:55Speaker 1: it felt like he was forcing their hand, like you
- 28:59Speaker 1: got it now you And I felt like, damn if
- 29:01Speaker 1: he gotta force they hand. You know what I'm saying.
- 29:05Speaker 1: I'm like, I gotta figure some shit out, you know
- 29:09Speaker 1: what I'm saying, And I was throwing shit. I'm trying
- 29:11Speaker 1: to figure shit out. But you gotta remember in the
- 29:13Speaker 1: midst of that, Wayne is Wayne, Drake is Drake, and
- 29:19Speaker 1: he's only coming bigger. Nicky is Nicki, and the Barbie
- 29:24Speaker 1: is only becoming bigger. So now we gotta sustain this.
- 29:29Speaker 1: We gotta sustain Wayne, Nicki, Drake, Tiger's doing this thing,
- 29:33Speaker 1: but they're keeping the lights on. Nicky and Drake kept
- 29:37Speaker 1: the lights on when Wayne went the Rikers, Allen keeping
- 29:40Speaker 1: it a buck. So now all right, now we're touring,
- 29:44Speaker 1: all right, Well, how do we do the tours? Now?
- 29:47Speaker 1: Who's gonna open, who's gonna close? Oh, he's not going
- 29:51Speaker 1: out with us, he's going out on his own. Or
- 29:52Speaker 1: she's doing her own tour she's taking. So now I'm
- 29:55Speaker 1: peeping like this one I realized this ship is really
- 30:03Speaker 1: really different, and it happened fast. I remember Drake did
- 30:06Speaker 1: Club Paradise. That was the name of Drake. I was hot.
- 30:14Speaker 1: What were you about? I loved Drake, but I was hot.
- 30:17Speaker 1: I think me and I think me and Gutta gut
- 30:19Speaker 1: It might have been I don't know if gut It
- 30:21Speaker 1: was too hot, but I was hot, and I think
- 30:24Speaker 1: I was hot because I was thinking something was gonna
- 30:26Speaker 1: go a certain way, Like did you think you were
- 30:28Speaker 1: supposed to be on the tour? Yes, I will completely.
- 30:33Speaker 1: I was every that was big, that was basically everybody
- 30:37Speaker 1: that was doing the same thing that we were doing
- 30:39Speaker 1: at that time that wasn't with Young Money. I remember that.
- 30:43Speaker 1: I remember, and I loved Drake. I ain't gonna lie.
- 30:46Speaker 1: I loved Drake with all my heart. Man. I love Nikki,
- 30:49Speaker 1: I love Tiger, Wayne Gutta, mac Maine, Twist, I love
- 30:53Speaker 1: all the everybody that was a part of that ride
- 30:56Speaker 1: who were young Money whoever. We still because me and
- 30:58Speaker 1: Tiger not young money no more. But I I'm not
- 31:00Speaker 1: covering my young Money tattoo, like I still sign my
- 31:03Speaker 1: checks and you still see it. Because that was a
- 31:05Speaker 1: decade of my life. That was a that was like
- 31:07Speaker 1: a real period of my life. But there were a
- 31:11Speaker 1: lot of times that in that period I started to see, oh,
- 31:15Speaker 1: we're label mates, we homies, but we're label mates, and
- 31:20Speaker 1: you can't you can't forget that because you didn't grow
- 31:23Speaker 1: up with these people. You met these people on some
- 31:26Speaker 1: business shit, so people people get traded. At this time,
- 31:34Speaker 1: we still got the same uniform on. So I'm looking
- 31:36Speaker 1: at it like, damn, I would have thought we could
- 31:39Speaker 1: at least open up. You know what I'm saying, like
- 31:43Speaker 1: thro take us out there like Tune took you or
- 31:47Speaker 1: or Nikki too. You know what I'm saying, like, take
- 31:50Speaker 1: us out there like you took dadg Loaf or this
- 31:54Speaker 1: one and this one. Even if we not hot, like that,
- 31:56Speaker 1: make us hot. Somebody made you hot now once again,
- 32:00Speaker 1: to be fair, to be fair, this is just me
- 32:03Speaker 1: and my feeling here at that time as a younger artist.
- 32:07Speaker 1: I'm in my feelings because I'm like, yo, we crewe
- 32:10Speaker 1: we We didn't both had to go chase the tour
- 32:14Speaker 1: people around for pudem before. Like did you communicate that
- 32:18Speaker 1: to Drake or did Drake ever like know that you
- 32:20Speaker 1: you were? Once again, what I'm saying is, at that time,
- 32:23Speaker 1: we were in our feelings about shit. I'm saying might
- 32:26Speaker 1: have been in his feelings about shit with us that
- 32:28Speaker 1: we don't know about. You know, he might have been
- 32:30Speaker 1: in his feelings with about Wayne or Tesz or you
- 32:33Speaker 1: know what I'm saying. It was times that Wayne might
- 32:36Speaker 1: have been in his feelings with some shit about tests
- 32:37Speaker 1: and Drake might have paid for it, you know what
- 32:40Speaker 1: I'm saying, Like it might have been some times that
- 32:43Speaker 1: Wayne wasn't He just wasn't fucking with New York. And
- 32:46Speaker 1: when I walk in the room, it's just like fucking
- 32:49Speaker 1: old New York ass nigga nothing. It's not like the
- 32:52Speaker 1: end of the world. It's not in person, but you
- 32:54Speaker 1: gotta think when you around people. As long as we
- 32:57Speaker 1: was around each other, young money, shit was a long ride.
- 33:01Speaker 1: That shit wasn't like no two three year you hot
- 33:05Speaker 1: and then you hear it's like nah, we all went
- 33:07Speaker 1: from one bus. We was all on Wayne bus to
- 33:11Speaker 1: now it's Wayne Buss and an artist bus. Now we're
- 33:14Speaker 1: all on the artist bus. To now it's Wayne Buster,
- 33:17Speaker 1: artist bus, Drake Bus, Nikki Bust, the band bust, the
- 33:20Speaker 1: dancers bus, the chef bust, the crew. Like that shit changed.
- 33:24Speaker 1: I went from doing clubs to performing in front of
- 33:27Speaker 1: When I say Jay, you say males, Jay, Jay, where
- 33:30Speaker 1: you at Milsey? And then my shit come on and
- 33:32Speaker 1: I'm like, damn, I never heard people scream for me
- 33:34Speaker 1: like that. So it was a hell of a ride.
- 33:38Speaker 1: But in along that ride, you did learn shit. You
- 33:42Speaker 1: know what I'm saying. You did learn that, Yo, Drake,
- 33:43Speaker 1: don't gotta do nothing for you nothing. Now, once I
- 33:48Speaker 1: got that through my head, I was cool. It's like, yo,
- 33:51Speaker 1: I don't know, I'm not tripping. If he come out
- 33:53Speaker 1: with six or seven albums and I'm not on none
- 33:56Speaker 1: of them, I could still find the dopeness in the
- 33:58Speaker 1: fucking album. It's like, it's cool, bro, It's not the
- 34:01Speaker 1: end of the world if somebody don't pull you along,
- 34:06Speaker 1: like especially if you never told me you was gonna
- 34:09Speaker 1: pull me along and it's all in your head. You
- 34:12Speaker 1: know what I'm saying. Did you ever help Wayne with
- 34:14Speaker 1: any writing? Because and this is a thing too, I
- 34:17Speaker 1: want because there was like there's there's been a lot
- 34:18Speaker 1: of rumors about like Gilly used to write for him,
- 34:21Speaker 1: and well I wasn't around for that. Was I wasn't
- 34:23Speaker 1: around for the Gilly show. I mean, like you got
- 34:25Speaker 1: at like did he ever tap in with you for
- 34:27Speaker 1: some bars? I will say this, There's been many times
- 34:30Speaker 1: that we're in the studio and Wayne might be like,
- 34:34Speaker 1: y'all tell me what you think it is yo, okay
- 34:38Speaker 1: m m, but yeah, like that's what I got for
- 34:41Speaker 1: right now. But I feel like that's natural. That's like
- 34:43Speaker 1: any studio. I will go down stairs in the studio
- 34:46Speaker 1: with Wayne and be like, Yo, this I got. I
- 34:50Speaker 1: got like twelve, but I don't know if how she
- 34:52Speaker 1: does sixteen or twelve, but this is what I got.
- 34:55Speaker 1: I wanted to say this next, but I don't know
- 34:57Speaker 1: how that ship sound like what you say that. But
- 35:00Speaker 1: if you flip it this way and just say it
- 35:02Speaker 1: like this, so that mean Wayne wrote for me. Now,
- 35:05Speaker 1: that's just because I watched Kanye West go in the
- 35:08Speaker 1: studio Kanye. I watched Kanye play Lucifer for jay Z
- 35:14Speaker 1: and say I'm from the murder Capital where we murder
- 35:16Speaker 1: for capitals. If you don't use this, I'm gonna use
- 35:19Speaker 1: this for my album. And then jay Z got on
- 35:21Speaker 1: there and said I gotta get these devils out my
- 35:23Speaker 1: life and then cut it off and said, oh my,
- 35:25Speaker 1: oh god, I never read the Bible. Damn my life.
- 35:27Speaker 1: On Faith the Black, he says that I watched Kanye
- 35:30Speaker 1: go in there and give him Lucifer and say I'm
- 35:33Speaker 1: from the murder Capitol where they murder for capitals. Jay
- 35:35Speaker 1: Z was not from the Murder Capital Kanye West was.
- 35:38Speaker 1: But we will never say Kanye West wrote for jay Z. True.
- 35:42Speaker 1: We will never, even with clear fucking footage of it
- 35:49Speaker 1: in Fade the Black, we will never say Kanye West
- 35:52Speaker 1: wrote for jay Z. Well, why do you think the
- 35:55Speaker 1: Drake thing was recepted so differently? I think I think
- 35:58Speaker 1: personally it was because we heard the references. Yeah, and
- 36:03Speaker 1: that's kind of like, Oh, I think with Wayne too,
- 36:06Speaker 1: it was big because I think it only comes so
- 36:11Speaker 1: heavy like that when it's somebody you respect. So when
- 36:13Speaker 1: Gilly said this shit about Wayne, it was like, Nah,
- 36:16Speaker 1: Wayne been nice since he was thirteen. He didn't even
- 36:18Speaker 1: know you didn't, so how you saying you wrote? And
- 36:20Speaker 1: I don't think he was saying it like that. I
- 36:22Speaker 1: think he was just saying there was a time where
- 36:24Speaker 1: I was influencing the way that he rapped. Now. I
- 36:28Speaker 1: could understand that because we younger than Gilly. So I
- 36:32Speaker 1: was a major Figures fan too. I was on Dutch
- 36:34Speaker 1: and Spade too. I was on all that shit, Like
- 36:36Speaker 1: I bought Major Figures. I bought the album. You know
- 36:39Speaker 1: what I'm saying. I understood Gilly was with Suave House
- 36:42Speaker 1: and Tony Draper and ab Liva before he got was
- 36:44Speaker 1: I was a fan, I not was m still as
- 36:47Speaker 1: a fan with major figures, I'll still say they was
- 36:49Speaker 1: dead nice. So I can understand where Gilly's influence. He
- 36:52Speaker 1: could say like I influenced the all that swag raping
- 36:56Speaker 1: the dragon, the words, but I don't like you wrote
- 37:00Speaker 1: like wrote for him once again, I can't say he didn't,
- 37:02Speaker 1: but I could see what he could say he influenced him.
- 37:05Speaker 1: But Wayne is so like articulate with the way he
- 37:09Speaker 1: put his ship together. He he wants to put it together,
- 37:15Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. He wants the craft in
- 37:16Speaker 1: and put it together. Now you can help him. You
- 37:18Speaker 1: could tell him, Nah, I don't think you should say it.
- 37:20Speaker 1: You should say it this way. But if I was
- 37:22Speaker 1: in here recording something, you might tell me that. Yo, Jay,
- 37:25Speaker 1: I think you that shit might have been crazy if
- 37:28Speaker 1: you would have said, oh shit, you know what, keV,
- 37:30Speaker 1: You're right, let's do it over. You know what I'm saying.
- 37:33Speaker 1: I think like you said with the Drake shit, we
- 37:35Speaker 1: heard the references. Yeah, the Drake thing. When you heard
- 37:38Speaker 1: the references, and it's like that was supposed to be
- 37:42Speaker 1: the go that was a little crazy, supposed to be
- 37:43Speaker 1: one of the greatest of all time. It's the same
- 37:46Speaker 1: that was a little crazy. But that's different than what
- 37:48Speaker 1: we're talking about. What we're talking about is, hey, we're
- 37:51Speaker 1: in the studio, let me help you with with the
- 37:53Speaker 1: with the Drake joint. Was it like the same verse
- 37:56Speaker 1: and all of that, or was the same like melody
- 37:59Speaker 1: of words and he changed some of the worlds. It
- 38:01Speaker 1: was the same shit. It was the same hook, same verse,
- 38:04Speaker 1: the same shit. Quentin Miller Man, No, I know he
- 38:07Speaker 1: did it, But I do also think listen to think
- 38:10Speaker 1: that Drake is incredible with his pen as an ignorant
- 38:13Speaker 1: thought to have. I think Drake is like one of
- 38:15Speaker 1: the best artists ever. Of course, I think, of course,
- 38:18Speaker 1: if we're having that discussion, like in life, everybody included.
- 38:22Speaker 1: So I just think that if you're Drake, you're probably
- 38:25Speaker 1: so fucking busy, Like he's probably torn doing all kinds
- 38:28Speaker 1: of shit and people are sending references and he might
- 38:30Speaker 1: just be like, yeah, that shits hot, Like let me Like,
- 38:33Speaker 1: I personally don't rappers do that all the time, man,
- 38:35Speaker 1: I know they do. It's just it was him. It's
- 38:38Speaker 1: Drake that the references came out on because once again,
- 38:41Speaker 1: I will always go back to this, like Fade the
- 38:44Speaker 1: Black with Kanye West and jay Z. Nobody will ever
- 38:49Speaker 1: say Kanye West wrote for jay Z, but they'll turn
- 38:51Speaker 1: around and say somebody wrote for Kanye, but they won't
- 38:55Speaker 1: give him that same respect and be like he took
- 38:57Speaker 1: a song into jay Z's session, said this is the
- 39:01Speaker 1: hook and if you don't use this, I'm gonna use
- 39:04Speaker 1: it on my album. And if you go pull up
- 39:07Speaker 1: the Black album, he word for words said yah shit
- 39:11Speaker 1: that Ya brought him in the studio and we overlooked it.
- 39:14Speaker 1: We overlooked it because Drake ain't jay Z at that time.
- 39:18Speaker 1: But Drake is up there man now. At that time,
- 39:22Speaker 1: we were still talking about oh, he wrapped on the
- 39:24Speaker 1: BlackBerry on Flex. Yeah, And it was only because you've
- 39:28Speaker 1: seen him with the BlackBerry. I know a million rappers
- 39:31Speaker 1: that went up to funk Master Flex show and their
- 39:34Speaker 1: phone is on the speaker, but you can't see it.
- 39:37Speaker 1: People come to our show all the time. Don't tell
- 39:40Speaker 1: me this, Let's just go to Sun else. Don't tell
- 39:42Speaker 1: me this. I've had artists have their lyrics on my
- 39:45Speaker 1: laptop in front of them and the laptops off. Are
- 39:48Speaker 1: you doing this? Man? But to be fair, because you
- 39:50Speaker 1: know it's funny because they're gonna know exactly who you're
- 39:53Speaker 1: talking about when this no no, no, Like one of
- 39:55Speaker 1: my boys, I'm cool listening. One of the homies. I'm
- 39:58Speaker 1: not gonna say his name, really close close friend of
- 40:00Speaker 1: he wrote the ship like when he got to the stage.
- 40:02Speaker 1: That's different. So that is different, that's different. But no,
- 40:06Speaker 1: he wrote it on the spot, that's dope. He literally
- 40:08Speaker 1: was like, yo, throwing a beat and then he was like,
- 40:11Speaker 1: give me like twenty minutes and I'll have something now
- 40:13Speaker 1: that's dope. And then he and then he was like, yeah,
- 40:15Speaker 1: I got something written that's different. I can respect that. Yes, Now,
- 40:18Speaker 1: there has been artists that have come in who literally
- 40:20Speaker 1: put their phone on the thing. And then I got
- 40:23Speaker 1: to I'm like, because I'm like, I want a good freestyle.
- 40:26Speaker 1: So I'm out of camera and I'm literally with my
- 40:28Speaker 1: fingers scrolling down there. That shit happens. Yeah, But this
- 40:35Speaker 1: is one thing I do want to say about the
- 40:36Speaker 1: Young Money shit. I feel like the way the Young
- 40:40Speaker 1: Money shit played out for all of us, believe it
- 40:43Speaker 1: or not, believe it, or not. That was exactly how
- 40:47Speaker 1: I was supposed to play out. If I could say, Man,
- 40:51Speaker 1: Wayne fucked my shit up, that'd be different. I can't
- 40:55Speaker 1: say Wayne fucked my shit up. The good outwegh to bad.
- 40:58Speaker 1: He did more than he didn't do, you know what
- 41:01Speaker 1: I'm saying. So I might could say I ain't gonna
- 41:04Speaker 1: lie I was a little I was a little hot
- 41:05Speaker 1: behind Club Paradise. It might be the only thing that
- 41:09Speaker 1: I could say I was ever hot behind with Drake.
- 41:11Speaker 1: But I could name so much of a good ship,
- 41:14Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. I could say, well, Nikki
- 41:16Speaker 1: never really like took me onto a nehba, same way
- 41:19Speaker 1: Drake didn't. She never really put me on nothing like
- 41:21Speaker 1: that neither, but stopped it stopped there. I can't say
- 41:25Speaker 1: anything else. And it's and those things are me and
- 41:28Speaker 1: my feelings. That's artist ship, that's rapper ship. Thinking you.
- 41:33Speaker 1: I wouldn't say ego ship. I would say it's feeling like, uh,
- 41:38Speaker 1: what's the word, uh not prideful, feeling like you uhled
- 41:45Speaker 1: entitlement that and that that we crew. So I'm entitled
- 41:50Speaker 1: to first DIBs on something or what you did for
- 41:52Speaker 1: that artist. You could have did that for me. We crew.
- 41:55Speaker 1: It's that that's that entitlement, you know what I'm saying,
- 41:57Speaker 1: so and not saying that you partially shouldn't have that
- 42:01Speaker 1: entitlement with your team, you know what I'm saying. But
- 42:04Speaker 1: some of it might have just been me thinking too much.
- 42:06Speaker 1: But once again, the good outwegh to bad with everybody.
- 42:09Speaker 1: So it's not like that's not changing. It's not like, oh,
- 42:13Speaker 1: I don't follow that nigga, ain't like him. I don't care.
- 42:15Speaker 1: I don't care about she just had kids. Don't give
- 42:17Speaker 1: fuck if it's his son's birthday on kid. It's like, Bro,
- 42:20Speaker 1: that shit was It's not that Sari, It's not that deep. Okay,
- 42:22Speaker 1: So you're behind the scenes. I want to know because
- 42:25Speaker 1: pusha T Is one of my favorite rappers ever. Push
- 42:28Speaker 1: your T has been He was poking and prodding at
- 42:31Speaker 1: little Wayne for years ever since mister Me too, which
- 42:34Speaker 1: is for long. That's prior to you being with Young Money,
- 42:37Speaker 1: that sugar Push your T and Young Money or Wayne, shit,
- 42:42Speaker 1: that should go back way before me. Like I just
- 42:44Speaker 1: I just probably only entertained it because I was young
- 42:47Speaker 1: money at the time. Yeah, because you know what I'm saying,
- 42:49Speaker 1: it took Wayne. I want to say it was maybe
- 42:52Speaker 1: three or four years ago he finally said push his
- 42:54Speaker 1: name on a record or it was, I don't remember
- 42:57Speaker 1: what he said. He's finally acknowledged push your ta officially,
- 43:00Speaker 1: and I was like wow, but like was that like
- 43:05Speaker 1: was that something that like like like was a known
- 43:09Speaker 1: issue in the crew, like, man, this fuck these guys
- 43:11Speaker 1: over here, Man, they're fucking disrespect now you know why?
- 43:14Speaker 1: Because Wayne be in his own little world, So Wayne
- 43:17Speaker 1: don't really listen, like he don't really be knowing what
- 43:21Speaker 1: be going on. It'd be like me or gutt or
- 43:23Speaker 1: like show him something. Yeah, a little twist would always
- 43:26Speaker 1: come in and show him some shit on the laptop
- 43:28Speaker 1: or or Twitter or Instagram. Here a big bro, look
- 43:30Speaker 1: at this. So he would be so far into his
- 43:33Speaker 1: music he wouldn't really know about like the darts, but
- 43:36Speaker 1: when he find out about it, it'd be like a
- 43:39Speaker 1: word or pull that shit up, let me see that shit.
- 43:41Speaker 1: And then everybody, like all assistance and managers to be like,
- 43:44Speaker 1: oh god, males, why did you get them started? I
- 43:47Speaker 1: remember we was in the studio and Yay came to
- 43:53Speaker 1: play him over this Atoven production. I don't know if
- 44:01Speaker 1: I even wanted to know his story, you gotta started.
- 44:06Speaker 1: But first time Wayne heard he heard him right, he
- 44:11Speaker 1: didn't feel that ship. Uh the damn what was the
- 44:18Speaker 1: barn then? Man? I just remember the baby money you got,
- 44:21Speaker 1: baby money. That ain't my late something, my lady money.
- 44:24Speaker 1: That's baby money you got like it was some ship
- 44:27Speaker 1: like that. M Wayne walked out the room, song still playing,
- 44:32Speaker 1: like just went to go get like a cup of
- 44:35Speaker 1: water and ship like yeah. And I remember like two
- 44:39Speaker 1: days later he did a song. Was he Drake, Jada
- 44:45Speaker 1: Kiss and Wayne? Was that Carter three? Kidnap your bitch,
- 44:50Speaker 1: Kidnap your bitch, See how much you love your lady money?
- 44:54Speaker 1: That was Carter three? I think that was that was
- 44:57Speaker 1: I think it was Drake. It might have been. It
- 44:59Speaker 1: might have been called A four. Carter Foy was Drake,
- 45:01Speaker 1: Jadakiss and Wayne. Because Washing the Throne came out in
- 45:03Speaker 1: twenty eleven, it was four four apart, it was four.
- 45:06Speaker 1: I remember, I don't remember much from that album. It
- 45:08Speaker 1: wasn't good. This is when I liked Carter four. It
- 45:10Speaker 1: just wasn't Carter three. It just wasn't Carter three. Carter
- 45:13Speaker 1: four was fired it, Uh, I remember he was like, Yo,
- 45:19Speaker 1: y'all think that's too much, And everybody was like, nah,
- 45:22Speaker 1: I think you should take that ball out. Man, I
- 45:24Speaker 1: don't think you should really say that. Man, fuck that ship.
- 45:30Speaker 1: Say that shit. Everybody got mad at me. So when
- 45:32Speaker 1: he's like you know what, I was like, Yo, do
- 45:34Speaker 1: you feel like he was talking about you? Not necessarily?
- 45:39Speaker 1: I was like, Bro, this's his words. It ain't like you.
- 45:41Speaker 1: It ain't like if he was talking about you. He
- 45:45Speaker 1: said that it was j So at this point, nigga,
- 45:49Speaker 1: you you you you just sold a million records. Of
- 45:52Speaker 1: course first week, came home and you about to do
- 45:54Speaker 1: it again. This is you you right now if you
- 45:57Speaker 1: feel this is just a battle rapper and at this time,
- 46:00Speaker 1: but this is how much I fuck with Wayne. This
- 46:02Speaker 1: is this is what Wayne looks at me for. You
- 46:04Speaker 1: know what I'm saying. I'm like, do you feel like
- 46:07Speaker 1: it was a shot? You? I'm like, nah, seriously, do
- 46:11Speaker 1: you feel it was a shot? Because if you didn't
- 46:13Speaker 1: feel it was a shot, you wouldn't have thought of
- 46:14Speaker 1: the ball you thought of So you asking us for
- 46:18Speaker 1: validation to go in there to go say what you feel? Now?
- 46:24Speaker 1: You know what you right? He went in there turn
- 46:27Speaker 1: me up lighter, everybody looking at me. Yeah, because I
- 46:32Speaker 1: do feel like, why would you tell him to do that?
- 46:34Speaker 1: There was like this period of time where and I'm like,
- 46:36Speaker 1: why not, though, I'm like, at the end of the day,
- 46:39Speaker 1: it's words, it's a sport, it's rap. It's not like
- 46:42Speaker 1: he said I'm gonna kill you. You felt he said
- 46:45Speaker 1: something and you wanted to say something back. Do you rap?
- 46:48Speaker 1: Do you feel like that there was some contention growing
- 46:51Speaker 1: between Hove and Wayne. I feel like there's some contention
- 46:54Speaker 1: growing between Hove and anybody else that gets hot to
- 46:57Speaker 1: the point where they're on his radar. Yeah, because I
- 47:01Speaker 1: remember I remember that we should go that should go
- 47:03Speaker 1: back to nas Well, there was the rumors that that
- 47:06Speaker 1: Wayne was gonna leave Cash Money and then signed with
- 47:08Speaker 1: Rocking Rock. I remember that. I remember that being a
- 47:10Speaker 1: thing a few different times, and then and then it
- 47:13Speaker 1: seemed like they been back before I was with Young Money.
- 47:15Speaker 1: I think Wayne and Jay had some business history. I
- 47:18Speaker 1: think Jay was gonna sign him or he was going
- 47:20Speaker 1: to give him, like a situation to something that go
- 47:22Speaker 1: back and then it said what happened said in an
- 47:29Speaker 1: interview that they were talking mm hmm. But then there
- 47:37Speaker 1: was like after the Carter three, it felt like there
- 47:41Speaker 1: was like this almost like an unspoken like like like
- 47:46Speaker 1: energy between the two where it was like Wayne was
- 47:48Speaker 1: the only guy who was like challenging Hove. Is that dude?
- 47:52Speaker 1: And I felt like that. I feel like it was
- 47:53Speaker 1: definitely like was that talked about like openly or was
- 47:56Speaker 1: it more just like you mean amongst us like the crew, Nah,
- 48:00Speaker 1: we always looked at even Wayne. Wayne look at Jay
- 48:03Speaker 1: like Jay, you the go. But Wayne his favorite like
- 48:08Speaker 1: person ever is like Prince Kobe Bryant. Like if anybody
- 48:13Speaker 1: knows Wayne, they will tell you mails No, Wayne off
- 48:15Speaker 1: that it's Prince and Kobe Bryant. Michael Jackson is cool,
- 48:20Speaker 1: but to Wayne, Michael Jackson isn't Prince, you know what
- 48:23Speaker 1: I'm saying. Jordan Jordan is cool too, but to Wayne, yeah,
- 48:27Speaker 1: Kobe could have won seven, you know what I'm saying.
- 48:30Speaker 1: So it's like menia. His mentality is I love Mike,
- 48:34Speaker 1: but I'm coming at him. And I think that's what
- 48:37Speaker 1: it always was with Jay, even if you go back
- 48:39Speaker 1: to I'm the best rapper alive since the best rapper retired,
- 48:43Speaker 1: and then once JD wasn't retiring no more. He never
- 48:46Speaker 1: stopped calling himself the best rapper alive though. He just
- 48:48Speaker 1: kept calling himself. It's like, oh you back. I thought
- 48:51Speaker 1: it was my turn. I thought you was retiring. Well
- 48:54Speaker 1: I'm still. I'm still that nigga here. So if you
- 48:56Speaker 1: that nigga and I'm I'm the best, though I know
- 48:58Speaker 1: you might be the greatest, but I'm the best, Like
- 49:01Speaker 1: right now, I'm the best. And I think Wayne just
- 49:03Speaker 1: carried that shit for so long. He carried that shit
- 49:07Speaker 1: for so long. It's you heard it when you when
- 49:10Speaker 1: you heard him about to come on a song, you
- 49:13Speaker 1: just felt that energy like he just feel he about
- 49:15Speaker 1: to come on. He used to tell us that he
- 49:17Speaker 1: used to play beats and look at me and Drake
- 49:19Speaker 1: and Nikki and Tyger Gutto whoever's on the song. Oh,
- 49:22Speaker 1: I'm just letting your balls know, like I'm gonna kill
- 49:25Speaker 1: all your niggas on this song right now and turn
- 49:26Speaker 1: around and just turn the ship all the way back
- 49:28Speaker 1: up and like this blood that's crazy. So when you
- 49:31Speaker 1: at some point, now we come on the record like
- 49:33Speaker 1: that too. Now, Nikki, come on, I'm a motherfucking mine stuff.
- 49:37Speaker 1: But she come on like I want to kill I
- 49:39Speaker 1: don't think Little Chucky ever playing a record like that. Damn, Yo,
- 49:43Speaker 1: you really don't like Chucky was horrible. I was like,
- 49:45Speaker 1: why these Why is he signing these twelve year old
- 49:47Speaker 1: children who can't rap? Shout out to Chuck and shout
- 49:50Speaker 1: out to Twists. Man. Look, the views of Bootleg keV
- 49:53Speaker 1: are nothing to do with the views and Mills. Yeah,
- 49:57Speaker 1: I can you know what though, I can respect, Nah,
- 50:01Speaker 1: I don't want to say I could respect because those
- 50:03Speaker 1: still my little homies forever. I can understand a person
- 50:09Speaker 1: like you being like, nah, they was fucking trash because
- 50:12Speaker 1: they could look. Look who they standing next to. They
- 50:15Speaker 1: standing next to Wayne Drake, Nikki Tiger Mills. I'm godly
- 50:20Speaker 1: with this lyric. If I never put out an album
- 50:23Speaker 1: with Young Money. I always used to say I was
- 50:26Speaker 1: who I was before I got here. I'm godly. I'm
- 50:28Speaker 1: gonna let you know me for what you know me for.
- 50:30Speaker 1: This can't change that, it can add on. I have
- 50:33Speaker 1: plaques for one hundred million streams, and I have plaques
- 50:36Speaker 1: for four times Platinum, two times Platinum, Billboard Peak one
- 50:38Speaker 1: Peak two Peak seven. That's more than I had before
- 50:44Speaker 1: I got there. True, So the good outway to bad.
- 50:47Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying a lot of people, they
- 50:48Speaker 1: might have loved Drake and Wayne, but they looked at me,
- 50:52Speaker 1: how you looked that little chucky in a little twist
- 50:55Speaker 1: like oh my god, Jay Mills and Gutta Gutta was
- 50:58Speaker 1: fucking horrible. They may look at us like it's just
- 51:01Speaker 1: like these people that may look at me and gut
- 51:03Speaker 1: a gutting like nah, they was killing dedication through they
- 51:05Speaker 1: held They held a lot of them mixtapes up when
- 51:08Speaker 1: other artists wasn't on them ships. Now, you had said
- 51:12Speaker 1: something to me last week. You said you were around
- 51:14Speaker 1: Young Money enough to see everyone get kicked out at
- 51:17Speaker 1: least once. Oh shit, I said that to you. I did,
- 51:25Speaker 1: I did? I did. So explain to me the times
- 51:30Speaker 1: in which both Nikki and Drake were kicked out of
- 51:32Speaker 1: Young Money, because that seems like a preposterous thing. You
- 51:35Speaker 1: want to hear. You want to hear the story about
- 51:38Speaker 1: how Nikki and Drake were once kicked out of it
- 51:41Speaker 1: was probably only lasted for about a day or two, right,
- 51:43Speaker 1: But or do you want to hear when I got
- 51:46Speaker 1: kicked out of? You? All of them? But which which
- 51:47Speaker 1: one do you want to hear first, whatever you feel,
- 51:50Speaker 1: I'll give you the Nicky and Drake shit first because
- 51:52Speaker 1: they're bigger names and that'll probably be more entertaining for y'all.
- 51:57Speaker 1: I remember or I saw with Nicki Nicki if you
- 52:01Speaker 1: remember that one time she was managed by Dad Walker
- 52:04Speaker 1: Moms yep, yeah, and Dad had a work and had
- 52:08Speaker 1: her out there with Gucci, and you know, I think
- 52:10Speaker 1: Dad was managing French at that time. So she used
- 52:12Speaker 1: to do like some shit like Gucci to be booked.
- 52:14Speaker 1: But French and Nicki get a bag too, and they
- 52:18Speaker 1: come together. So it got to a point when we
- 52:21Speaker 1: started going out because we used to record a lot
- 52:24Speaker 1: in Atlanta, Miami and shit like that. But now when
- 52:27Speaker 1: Carter three come out Wayne on the road and he
- 52:31Speaker 1: used to tell us shit like he used to tell
- 52:33Speaker 1: me a lot. This is what made me start coming.
- 52:35Speaker 1: He was like, Yo, I don't think it's fair to
- 52:37Speaker 1: the other artists that you get to go home and
- 52:40Speaker 1: then fly back when you want to come back out.
- 52:42Speaker 1: Like they don't go home, they just they they on
- 52:44Speaker 1: the road with me. But I had never been a
- 52:46Speaker 1: part of nothing like that to understand an artist like
- 52:49Speaker 1: him that lives on the road like lives on a
- 52:52Speaker 1: tour bus. You know what I'm saying. I was more
- 52:54Speaker 1: like a well when y'all come to New York or
- 52:55Speaker 1: you want me to come back out? Let me know.
- 52:57Speaker 1: His thing was, Miles, I fuck with you. You need
- 53:00Speaker 1: to be here whenever what you're there for, what you're
- 53:02Speaker 1: doing there, Young money ain't in New York. We on
- 53:05Speaker 1: the road while you're there, you young money, right, And
- 53:07Speaker 1: then it hit me like, all right, I gotta be
- 53:10Speaker 1: here more so Nicki at that time, she was booked,
- 53:15Speaker 1: so she got her own She's building like her own
- 53:19Speaker 1: Nicki Lewinsky. You know what I'm saying. She building her
- 53:22Speaker 1: own little Thingcottie Tape in them clubs. Like she was
- 53:26Speaker 1: getting getting bags while we riding the bus with Wayne
- 53:29Speaker 1: and we you know he bringing us out. She doing
- 53:31Speaker 1: that too, but she might have a bag to get
- 53:34Speaker 1: in South Carolina or here here. And I think he
- 53:37Speaker 1: started to feel like, you know, he never wanted nobody
- 53:40Speaker 1: to feel like they was better than another artist, Like
- 53:42Speaker 1: I don't want Nikki to feel like she better than
- 53:44Speaker 1: Chanelle or Guns just because she booked. But I don't
- 53:47Speaker 1: want Mills to feel like he bigger than Twist or
- 53:49Speaker 1: Chucky just because he been on TV with Diddy before
- 53:51Speaker 1: and he did battles and he had deals. Like we
- 53:54Speaker 1: all at the same level. You're all the same level
- 53:57Speaker 1: field right now. Like let's look don't look down on nobody,
- 53:59Speaker 1: because I ain't looking down on you now. If you're
- 54:02Speaker 1: gonna look down on a little Chucky or little Twist,
- 54:04Speaker 1: or you're gonna look down on guns, I gotta look
- 54:06Speaker 1: down on you now, Mills, I have to, you know
- 54:09Speaker 1: what I'm saying. So once we got that shit in
- 54:12Speaker 1: our mind, Wayne was looking at it. I think like
- 54:14Speaker 1: Nicki doing her own thing. I think Wayne was looking
- 54:18Speaker 1: at it on some shit like oh, she trying to
- 54:22Speaker 1: be over here and over here and kind of see
- 54:25Speaker 1: which one pop first. You gotta remember, it wasn't no
- 54:28Speaker 1: every girl in the world yet. It wasn't no we
- 54:30Speaker 1: was just Wayne's crew, you know what I'm saying. But
- 54:33Speaker 1: Gucci was still Gucci. Like French wasn't big, big, big
- 54:36Speaker 1: French Montana yet, but he coke boys and he so
- 54:39Speaker 1: he don't know if like NICKI was like you fucking
- 54:41Speaker 1: over you over here, like you fucking with us or
- 54:43Speaker 1: you fucking with them? You fuck? And I think he
- 54:45Speaker 1: just had one of them days where he was like, yo,
- 54:47Speaker 1: she ain't young on money, no more like and then
- 54:50Speaker 1: she started just working. She'll be at video shoots here
- 54:52Speaker 1: and there, change hair color, start wearing tight dresses. And
- 54:55Speaker 1: did he tell that to her? I don't know if you,
- 54:57Speaker 1: I don't. I don't want to say he told it
- 54:59Speaker 1: to her. He probably told matt Or told Tesz to
- 55:02Speaker 1: call or whatever. She never said nothing. He never said nothing.
- 55:05Speaker 1: And then him being a businessman and just understanding where
- 55:09Speaker 1: he trying to take young money. I think he told
- 55:11Speaker 1: mac or Tez, like, yo, we put in too much
- 55:15Speaker 1: work to just let her go, like tell, I said,
- 55:19Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. And then she was back
- 55:21Speaker 1: on the road with us, but she was still doing
- 55:23Speaker 1: her own thing. But she was back on the road.
- 55:26Speaker 1: But I can understand how he could feel like that,
- 55:27Speaker 1: because it's like, Yo, is you over here or is
- 55:31Speaker 1: you over there? Is like, what is you doing right now?
- 55:33Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying. So they came to their agreement,
- 55:35Speaker 1: and after that everything was cool, you know what I'm saying.
- 55:38Speaker 1: But I think it was a misunderstanding. It wasn't like
- 55:40Speaker 1: it was a miscommunication somewhere. Same thing with the Drake shit.
- 55:45Speaker 1: I think Wayne and Drake thing at that time was
- 55:47Speaker 1: more so Wayne and Taz, you know what I'm saying,
- 55:50Speaker 1: Like Wayne trusting Taz with shit and then finding out
- 55:53Speaker 1: like some shit might not be what it is, and like,
- 55:57Speaker 1: but now Drake is in the middle of it because
- 56:00Speaker 1: it's like, you know, it's that business, that paperwork shit
- 56:03Speaker 1: and like all of that type of shit. I think
- 56:05Speaker 1: that was an issue, you know what I'm saying. And
- 56:07Speaker 1: I was in the studio with Drake in New York
- 56:10Speaker 1: and cool chilling everything, cool smokey recording, and he went
- 56:17Speaker 1: up and went in the hallway and came back and
- 56:20Speaker 1: I was like, you good. He's like yeah, man, he's
- 56:22Speaker 1: like to just telling me I'm not young money no more,
- 56:26Speaker 1: same thing you just did. I was like, like, where
- 56:29Speaker 1: the fuck did that come from? Like, because this is
- 56:31Speaker 1: at a time where like every girl is out like
- 56:35Speaker 1: we you know, we charting, like Drake's doing like, uh
- 56:41Speaker 1: say something and did you new girl? Like he's doing
- 56:44Speaker 1: like features now for Mary J and Drake, I mean
- 56:47Speaker 1: not Drake, Mary J, Jamie Fox. Yeah, he doing like
- 56:51Speaker 1: shit outside of the box. And I think it was
- 56:53Speaker 1: that same thing again. It was like that Yo, what
- 56:57Speaker 1: y'all like, because there's so much shit going on, but
- 57:00Speaker 1: Wayne don't know, you know what I'm saying, He don't
- 57:02Speaker 1: know what the fuck is going on with his artists.
- 57:06Speaker 1: And I think that was the thing with Drake. It
- 57:08Speaker 1: wasn't It wasn't really nothing with Drake, because even Drake
- 57:11Speaker 1: told him, he was like, he said, it really don't
- 57:13Speaker 1: have nothing to do with you and me. Just knowing Wayne,
- 57:16Speaker 1: I know he was having one of them days where
- 57:17Speaker 1: it's like, fuck, is everybody keeping me in the dark
- 57:20Speaker 1: with shit? If these is? This is my shit? You
- 57:22Speaker 1: know what I'm saying, And just once again miscommunication miss
- 57:28Speaker 1: seeing the same thing with fucking what Little Twist? I mean,
- 57:32Speaker 1: we don't. Little Twist wasn't in the Bedrock video. If
- 57:34Speaker 1: you notice, Little Chucky was all through the Bedrock video,
- 57:37Speaker 1: but he wasn't on the song. Was it because Wayne
- 57:40Speaker 1: wasn't fucking the matter? Because got him trouble in school
- 57:42Speaker 1: or some shit like that, whoor tutoring or son happened
- 57:45Speaker 1: with his moms like, so Wayne wouldn't let him be
- 57:48Speaker 1: in the video. He just let Little Chucky be all
- 57:49Speaker 1: through that. He let Little Chucky be the extra in
- 57:51Speaker 1: everybody's verse. That's so funny. That's so funny. You know
- 57:56Speaker 1: what I'm saying. I remember, I don't want people to
- 57:59Speaker 1: feel like this nigga just want to sit up there
- 58:01Speaker 1: and tell stories while people all day. No, I'm just
- 58:03Speaker 1: telling you real shit, and I'm gonna tell you about
- 58:04Speaker 1: when my stupid ass got kicked out. If you remember
- 58:09Speaker 1: the BET Awards, when Drake's foot was hert he had
- 58:13Speaker 1: just fucked his foot up when he was on tour.
- 58:15Speaker 1: He had tours acl but he still came out and
- 58:17Speaker 1: performed at the BT Awards, and I think Reginee came
- 58:23Speaker 1: out on stage. It wasn't meant to be disrespectful, but
- 58:26Speaker 1: they was performing every girl. I say they because as
- 58:29Speaker 1: I tell this story, this is gonna fuck everybody up.
- 58:31Speaker 1: So when they was performing every girl and Drake was
- 58:34Speaker 1: sitting in a chair and the kids came out, they
- 58:36Speaker 1: pulled the performance and they never showed it again because
- 58:39Speaker 1: we was performing. I just want to fuck every girl
- 58:41Speaker 1: in the world. And people had their kids up there
- 58:44Speaker 1: and we were just happy that we made it to
- 58:47Speaker 1: the awards show. You know what I'm saying. Wayne usually
- 58:49Speaker 1: performed with the hot boys cash Money. This is like everybody,
- 58:54Speaker 1: this is like young money, the shit that he had,
- 58:56Speaker 1: the plan he had for us, this shit came to life.
- 58:58Speaker 1: We on stage BT Awards. J Miles wasn't on that stage.
- 59:04Speaker 1: J Mills was in New York on one hundred and
- 59:09Speaker 1: twelve and fifth Avenue down the block from the Projects,
- 59:14Speaker 1: looking at that performance at his homies crib. Vodo was
- 59:18Speaker 1: there with me. Shout to Vado and the girl that
- 59:22Speaker 1: I had pregnant at that time sitting next to me,
- 59:25Speaker 1: about eight months pregnant, and I'm looking at them perform like, oh,
- 59:28Speaker 1: I'm done. I missed my flight. Two flights. Two flights
- 59:35Speaker 1: flights from New York Airport, had a whole nother flight
- 59:37Speaker 1: books from JFK by the time I got the JFK
- 59:39Speaker 1: missed that one too. We have to perform at the
- 59:43Speaker 1: BT Awards first live TV performance. Now my verse was performed,
- 59:53Speaker 1: but it wasn't me who performed it. Shout out to
- 59:57Speaker 1: my brother mac Maine because at that time we both
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: had the same facial here and we both had like
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: low seasons and ship and we was like husky chubby,
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: husky type dudes. Hey, you just want to stay with
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: some shades, and he I ain't you know that's wild.
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: I ain't being disrespectful, baby, I'm just being Mac damn.
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: But luckily for Milsey, the fucking performance got pulled, so
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: it never even ended up happening like it, but it happened.
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: You just can't find it anywhere. Yeah, I mean you
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: made somebody may have uploaded the YouTube or some ship
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: like that, but yeah, but it didn't actually make the
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: broadcast not live. And then when they whenever they showed
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: the after that, they just never showed that performance. Now,
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: this is all a part of my getting kicked out
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: of the Young Money story. So Mac like, Yo, we
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: uh were in New York, but were about to leave.
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: You know, we're about to leave from whre the jet
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: leave from. We're about to go to Paris. Were about
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: to go do the Paris Run and overseas and all
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: that shit. So Mac was like, I don't really want
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: you to miss this because you know you need to
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: be here. You know too, Mad He ain't fucking with you,
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: like you're not Young Money right now, he said, But
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: you know, I just want to see you know what
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: I'm saying, Like, let's just you gotta face it, you
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: know what I'm saying say you can't just chill because
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: if you chill, he'll never call you again. So I
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: will say, if it wasn't for Mac Main, I would
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: have been curved from young money a long time, a
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: long time ago. So regardless, and me and Mac we
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: done have a million disagreements, almost came to fights a
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: million times. Mac Main is like a big brother to me,
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: Like he's like the big brother that you always get
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: into a fight with, but he kind of always right
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: years later, like the shit he was telling you years
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: ago that y'all got in an argument about shit. Kind
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: of he kind of was right, but he kind of
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: didn't worry it right, and he always both fiery at
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: that time. So Mac was like, yo, just come to
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: the jet and let's just see if he wants you
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: to come to Paris with us. So when I get
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: some I get to the jet. They not there yet,
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: so I just get on the jet and I just
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: wait for them to put He's like, well a few
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: minutes away. So I remember they got on the jet, right,
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: So I remember, I'm me and Tad. I think streets
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: a couple of people, Mac man assistant everybody get up
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: on the joint and they look at me and just go.
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: So I'm dabbing everybody. But you know, like on the jet.
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: Well let's say were on the jet and you coming
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: in right here, and we got the sofa right here.
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: They got the captain seats right there. You know, Wayne
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: sit all the way in the back, all his bags everything,
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: you know. So I'm sitting on the sofa. Thay, everybody
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: walking by dapping me. So Wayne get on the He
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: get on the jet right so he get up, he
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: look at me. He just keep walking like it threw
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: them off to see me. Right. So now we're waiting,
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: jet about to take off. So everybody talking. A couple
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: of people talking to me. But I noticed Wayne his
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: conversation ain't reaching where I'm at. So he back there,
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: he listened to his music, you know, looking out the window.
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: So I said, all right, this ain't this ain't like
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: friend shit. This is business right now. You have to
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: go apologize, like you missed a little you missed a
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: performance at the BET Awards. You have to go speak
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: to this man. I walked back there. I was like, yo,
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying, my fault for missing the flight.
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying, I apologize. I know that
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: shit was unprofessional. Blah blah blah blah blah, and like
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: he looked at me said he said, what you say?
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: So I was like, now I'm talking about the fight.
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: He said, no, I heard you, but I'm asking you
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: what you say. I said, you're right. I just went
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: and sat back down. From Teeterborough to Paris, this man
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: did not say a word to me, spoke to everybody
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: else joking ha ha ha. Food just kept walking by
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: me the whole flight, even when we got the Paris checked.
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: I had my It wasn't like he shit it on
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: me when I got to Paris, but behind closed doors,
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: I felt that shit like I was definitely on like
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: curve time for a while. And if it wasn't for
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: mac Maine like telling me, like yo, just come to
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: the jet and like just see what happened, if I
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: would have been on some bit shit and been like, nah, man,
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: fuck that shit. If he ain't fucking with me, he
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: ain't fucking with me, Like you know what I'm saying,
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: Like I had to eat that shit, but I was wrong,
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. So that's my story of
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: when I got fucking curved. You know what I'm saying,
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: I definitely thought it was over for me though, now
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: you're you're independent. Now, when what year did you like
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: officially have like an official split away from Young Money.
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: I know it was cordial. Yeah, I left Young Money
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: the end of twenty sixteen, and I'm gonna tell you
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: where I left h into twenty sixteen. I had my
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: surgery already. I had a surgery in twenty fifteen to
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: remove to him my throat. My daughter was born in
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: twenty and twelve, so twenty sixteen, she going on five.
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: I'm not the same dude I was in two thousand
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: and seven, you know what I'm saying. I'm not the
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: same twenty seven year old kid running around wanting to
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: fuck every girl in the world at this point, like
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: I got a little girl in this world now, Like
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: just the way I think now is different. And then
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: it's like, now it's bad with Wayne and Birdman now,
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying, Oh yeah, and I want yeah, yeah, shit,
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: it was bad and I'm one of them, And I
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: was always good with Birdman and Wayne, you know what
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: I'm saying. So we was all kind of caught in
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: the middle of the shit now. But now it's like
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: I'm one of them. I'm a rider to the wheels
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: fall off dude at that point, and I feel like,
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: to some people, Mills you should have been left. I
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: remember busting round seeing me in a sneaker store in
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: Miami and being like, Yo, what are you doing? What
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: you're waiting for? Like you're waiting for them to stop
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: fucking with you, like to make you feel that, or
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: you're gonna like just see it, you know what I'm saying.
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: But at that time, I'm like, Nah, he gave me
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: a chance. I owe him a little bit more to
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: leave because it's not good right now. You know what
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: I'm saying. Because it's not good right now, I owe
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: him a little bit more than to leave right now.
- 1:06:18Speaker 1: I gotta ride this one out, you know what I'm saying,
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: Even if my loyalty is turning into stupidity, I owe
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: him this to ride this out with him. You know
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: what I'm saying. Now, When it got to a point
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: where I just didn't know what I was doing no more, right,
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. I didn't know when I
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: come around if I was supposed to be there or not.
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying, I don't know if like
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: I'm overstaying and this is just real shit because I
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: never really said this to a lot of people in
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: young Money. I never said this to Wayne, you know
- 1:06:49Speaker 1: what I'm saying, like real shit. I never said this
- 1:06:51Speaker 1: to Birdman or mac Maine or nothing like that. But
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: I just felt like I was overstaying my welcome, and
- 1:06:57Speaker 1: I felt like the Southern hospitality wasn't gonna let them
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: shit on me. You know what I'm saying, that they
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: got good hearts, they not fucked up individuals. I'm never
- 1:07:08Speaker 1: gonna say that, you know what I'm saying, But I
- 1:07:11Speaker 1: think that Southern hospitality of you know what I'm saying.
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: I fuck with him, but I just don't know what
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: to do with him, you know what I'm saying. I
- 1:07:18Speaker 1: think that was just like and he a good, a
- 1:07:22Speaker 1: good you know, millsy family, you know what I'm saying.
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: So it got to I could either be family and
- 1:07:28Speaker 1: just you know, you don't know what they trying to
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: do with you, and they don't really know what they
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: trying to do with you, and just to be real
- 1:07:37Speaker 1: with you, they don't have an idea of doing anything
- 1:07:40Speaker 1: with you at this point, Like this is the rebuild
- 1:07:43Speaker 1: of Lil Wayne at this time, because I remember during
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: that period of time when he was beefing heavy with Birdman,
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: Wayne went on this like club run in the South
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: where he was taking bags that like you would never
- 1:07:56Speaker 1: have ever expected Wayne to take. Like he did a
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: show in Tampa when I was living in town. That
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: was around the time. I was like, I just had
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: it was twenty fifteen, he said, like twenty fifteen. That
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: was around that time I had my surgery and I
- 1:08:07Speaker 1: think I was healing like he did. He did a
- 1:08:10Speaker 1: show in Tampa for like forty bands at a nightclub,
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: and I remember being like, wait, little Wayne doing something
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: for forty thousand dollars, like, but I think it was
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: because he was just I think I obviously speculation, but
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: I just think he was just grabbing cash. Yeah, I
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: mean cash. At the end of the day, he was
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: doing the whole HU but he was doing this whole
- 1:08:30Speaker 1: club run that like you would never think Wayne would do. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:08:34Speaker 1: And I was you know what it was for me?
- 1:08:36Speaker 1: Mostly it was I could even stay here because you
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: gotta remember, I got a kid now, so I could
- 1:08:42Speaker 1: even stay here and figure out what he going to do,
- 1:08:47Speaker 1: or I could go figure out what I'm going to
- 1:08:50Speaker 1: do because it's not like you're on a Young Money salary. No,
- 1:08:54Speaker 1: it wasn't like it was assuming by like then it
- 1:08:57Speaker 1: was not any income coming It wasn't like it was
- 1:08:59Speaker 1: no it was income coming in because we've been on
- 1:09:01Speaker 1: hit records, we've been on album we still coming in.
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: But I mean, like as far as money, the plan
- 1:09:08Speaker 1: like because at this time I'm looking at it like
- 1:09:10Speaker 1: I I'm looking at like Drake on four fifth, Nikki
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: on I'm looking at it like I R Now I'm
- 1:09:18Speaker 1: looking at the what's the plan? Like what is the
- 1:09:20Speaker 1: plan for me? Not what is the plan for Wayne?
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying. This is like the first
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: time where now I really have to look at like, Bro,
- 1:09:31Speaker 1: nobody's gonna take you on tour, nobody's gonna throw you
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: on a single, nobody's gonna jump on your single, nobody's
- 1:09:37Speaker 1: gonna promote your single, nobody's gonna promote any fucking thing
- 1:09:42Speaker 1: you have going because everybody has their own shit going right,
- 1:09:47Speaker 1: and shit is so different now. When I came around,
- 1:09:49Speaker 1: people were still selling ring tones. By the time I left,
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: Young Money music was coming out on Fridays. Now right,
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: no longer Tuesdays, It's no longer people lining up in
- 1:09:59Speaker 1: front of the stores. All the stores closed, all the
- 1:10:02Speaker 1: websites we used to send our music to some niggas
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: is corn balls. Now you could just put it on
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: streaming platform Why are we not putting our music on
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: streaming platforms? Why is Wayne not putting projects on stream?
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: Why doesn't Wayne have a four pack out? Why doesn't
- 1:10:17Speaker 1: Wayne have an EP out? Why don't we just put
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: out a new Young Money mixtape to promote everybody who's
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: sitting here ice fucking coal. And at that time, when
- 1:10:28Speaker 1: I got to think about all that, I'm a virgo,
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: I get lost in my own mind. It's like, Yo,
- 1:10:32Speaker 1: back yourself out. It's like, Yo, you gotta go, you
- 1:10:35Speaker 1: gotta go. Not a bad thing. Like man, fuck these niggas.
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: They ain't do nothing for me. Nah whoa whoa. Young
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: Money did more for J Mills than any other label
- 1:10:44Speaker 1: did for J Mills. Even if y'all did put me
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: on a promo, run and pay for the no No
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: no video or put me here, put me there. I
- 1:10:51Speaker 1: don't have no plaques. I don't have no plaques from
- 1:10:54Speaker 1: anything before Young Money. I don't have big ass cap
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: checks from anything before young money, so I could never say, man, niggas.
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: The niggas held me up. Nah, you got lost in
- 1:11:05Speaker 1: the midst of some great ship. It happens like that sometimes.
- 1:11:10Speaker 1: Now what you're gonna do? Now, keep it moving, Learn
- 1:11:12Speaker 1: how to produce, learn how to direct shoot your own videos.
- 1:11:16Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying. I had to figure it.
- 1:11:18Speaker 1: I had to basically figure it out the same way
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: I had to figure it out when I got with
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: your money. I have no deal. I'm taking shots in
- 1:11:25Speaker 1: the dark. I could listen and see when I hit
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: the rim. I'm close. Keep taking them fucking shots. What
- 1:11:31Speaker 1: did you tell me the other day? It's the perfect
- 1:11:33Speaker 1: time for somebody like you. Yeah, I told you, yo,
- 1:11:37Speaker 1: I'm gonna give you a record. Blah blah blah. And
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: what did you tell me? Can I say what you
- 1:11:41Speaker 1: told me about the radio record? Sure? Fuck the radio
- 1:11:45Speaker 1: right now? Man, facts facts, bro, And I work at
- 1:11:48Speaker 1: the radio, And I told when I left because I
- 1:11:50Speaker 1: had my lady with me, and when I left, we
- 1:11:53Speaker 1: was talking about that ship, and I was like I
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: needed to hear that, yeah, dog, to hear it because
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: once again, like when we were talking about See I'm
- 1:12:02Speaker 1: only reiterating this because they wasn't here for the conversation
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: other day. Like I was explaining to you that I'm
- 1:12:08Speaker 1: from an era of the single. I'm from an era
- 1:12:11Speaker 1: of the radio record or the party record. I moved
- 1:12:15Speaker 1: to Miami two thousand and ten. That's prime strip club
- 1:12:22Speaker 1: for sure. I was there for Live on Sunday King
- 1:12:24Speaker 1: of Diamonds money. I know what that shit is like
- 1:12:27Speaker 1: to be with somebody now, and I'm very underrated to
- 1:12:31Speaker 1: I am super cheap. Let's just get that understood. I
- 1:12:34Speaker 1: have never went to King of Diamonds and got singles.
- 1:12:36Speaker 1: Used to go every Monday. Likewise, See, I like to
- 1:12:38Speaker 1: go to the strip club and eat food. What the
- 1:12:40Speaker 1: fuck am I getting money for? Wayne just got a
- 1:12:42Speaker 1: box of ones a box and went here, here, here,
- 1:12:50Speaker 1: What the fuck am I going to get singles for?
- 1:12:52Speaker 1: So you think you think I'm impressing him, going to
- 1:12:54Speaker 1: get this rack of singles? Hell not this. Niggas just
- 1:12:58Speaker 1: want to sol a million and in the first week.
- 1:13:01Speaker 1: What are you talking about? Yeah, I'm gonna get out
- 1:13:03Speaker 1: of his box. But that's the type of person he is.
- 1:13:06Speaker 1: So like I used to always tell people when I
- 1:13:10Speaker 1: got around young money. That fucked me up to be
- 1:13:12Speaker 1: like when we on the road and he pulling the
- 1:13:14Speaker 1: red lobster. We on an eighteen hour bus ride, he
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: pulling the red lobster. I tell this story a lot
- 1:13:18Speaker 1: because I'll be trying to paint a picture for people
- 1:13:21Speaker 1: pulling the red lobster. He gets steak shrimp baked potato.
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: It's twenty one orders of steak shrimping baked potatoes. I'm
- 1:13:32Speaker 1: not paying for that. Who paid for that? You got?
- 1:13:36Speaker 1: Are you chipping in for that? Mac? Who paying for this? Mac?
- 1:13:39Speaker 1: Mills just order. Shit went like that for a long time. No,
- 1:13:45Speaker 1: it went like that forever. It never stopped. So when
- 1:13:49Speaker 1: it got to a point where, like you were saying,
- 1:13:50Speaker 1: I'm looking at him, he taking a forty thoual bag,
- 1:13:53Speaker 1: He'll or a fifty thous bag here. It's like, I
- 1:13:57Speaker 1: know why, you know what I'm saying, because that shit
- 1:14:00Speaker 1: is on his shoulders and that's all he know since
- 1:14:03Speaker 1: he was thirteen. All he know is that. All he
- 1:14:05Speaker 1: know is that lifestyle chauffeur. He's overhead. Had to be crazy,
- 1:14:11Speaker 1: it's all he know. You know what I'm saying. I
- 1:14:12Speaker 1: always tell people if I was if I was if
- 1:14:15Speaker 1: I was Lil Wayne like, if I had Lil Wayne
- 1:14:18Speaker 1: money like, I would have been way worse. I would
- 1:14:22Speaker 1: have been worse, way worse. But he had money since
- 1:14:26Speaker 1: he was so young, so he understood how to take
- 1:14:29Speaker 1: care of his homies, how to try to put j
- 1:14:32Speaker 1: Mills and Corey Gunns, and even if it don't work,
- 1:14:34Speaker 1: he understood how to try. So I could accept that,
- 1:14:38Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. But I don't know, man,
- 1:14:42Speaker 1: I feel like, like I said, the shit ended how
- 1:14:44Speaker 1: it was supposed to end for me as far as
- 1:14:47Speaker 1: that chapter. Now, of course, I still fuck with Wayne,
- 1:14:49Speaker 1: I still fuck with everybody else. But do I think
- 1:14:52Speaker 1: I could have got more out of Young Money had
- 1:14:55Speaker 1: I stayed? You know, do you think you should have
- 1:14:58Speaker 1: left earlier? Yeah? Yeah, I probably should have left Young
- 1:15:04Speaker 1: Money years before I left. But once again, man, it
- 1:15:08Speaker 1: is what it is. Wayne gave me an opportunity that
- 1:15:11Speaker 1: nobody else has ever given me before was since So
- 1:15:15Speaker 1: I don't feel I did anything wrong, you know what
- 1:15:18Speaker 1: I'm saying. I feel like I could have left, But
- 1:15:22Speaker 1: I remember people used to tell me, Man, you should
- 1:15:23Speaker 1: go to Mayback, you should go to it, you should
- 1:15:27Speaker 1: go here, you should go here, and if you think
- 1:15:28Speaker 1: about it, Wayne was the only place I ever went
- 1:15:32Speaker 1: other than having my own deals. Yeah, I think that, like,
- 1:15:35Speaker 1: signing with an artist is a crapshoot anyway, you know,
- 1:15:39Speaker 1: when you signed with another artist. I think Wayne pulled
- 1:15:41Speaker 1: it off nicely. With Nicky and Drake, I think Ross
- 1:15:43Speaker 1: did a great job. But like, there's plenty more examples
- 1:15:47Speaker 1: of rappers who have labels. Yo, God, he's doing a
- 1:15:50Speaker 1: great job right now. Yeah, but there's plenty of other
- 1:15:53Speaker 1: artists who it's like you just look and it's like
- 1:15:56Speaker 1: the problem is most of the time, when you signed
- 1:15:58Speaker 1: with an artist, they don't want the people they signed
- 1:16:01Speaker 1: to be bigger than them. Yeah, and that's you know
- 1:16:04Speaker 1: with Wayne, that didn't happen with Ross that that wasn't
- 1:16:06Speaker 1: the case. Yeah, some people been around so long it's
- 1:16:09Speaker 1: not their first time. Like when Ross did the whole
- 1:16:13Speaker 1: Mayback music, shit, he had already did Triple C's right, Yeah,
- 1:16:17Speaker 1: he had already already did writing for Slippings. He had
- 1:16:21Speaker 1: already did so much shit, So it wasn't his first time. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:16:26Speaker 1: MMG Energy in like two thousand and like ten eleven,
- 1:16:31Speaker 1: so crazy, and I feel like young Money. I'm gonna
- 1:16:35Speaker 1: say this, I don't feel Young Money gets enough credit
- 1:16:39Speaker 1: for bringing back that aura, that Crew Crew. You feel
- 1:16:43Speaker 1: like after like Dipset and G Unit, that was it.
- 1:16:47Speaker 1: That was the That was the end of that era
- 1:16:50Speaker 1: of like d Block, G United, Dip said, uh Rough Riders, Rockefeller,
- 1:16:58Speaker 1: you know what. I'm like all of those like Crew
- 1:17:00Speaker 1: and then like Young Money came and I remember we
- 1:17:02Speaker 1: used to get joked on. It was the joke. You know.
- 1:17:04Speaker 1: We had the poppy singles and shit like that, but
- 1:17:08Speaker 1: we still had like Dedication three, Dedication four, like no ceilings.
- 1:17:12Speaker 1: Like the reason why we was like like I Am Music.
- 1:17:16Speaker 1: Tour was like six months. It was like the biggest tour.
- 1:17:20Speaker 1: But at that time, that's when Top was creating uh TD.
- 1:17:26Speaker 1: Like I met Jay Rock through Wayne. Yeah, they had
- 1:17:29Speaker 1: a song that was first single on Warner Broads and
- 1:17:31Speaker 1: Wayne directed the video. I remember when we flew out here.
- 1:17:34Speaker 1: I remember that was when Kendrick was being at that
- 1:17:37Speaker 1: video shoot like yeah, I think I'm just gonna stay
- 1:17:39Speaker 1: in the trailer right, Like you gotta understand I'm from Harlem,
- 1:17:44Speaker 1: Wayne out here with Dicky's and Red Band, Dannis and shit,
- 1:17:48Speaker 1: I'm like I'm new. I don't even know Wayne for
- 1:17:51Speaker 1: being like this yet, you know what I'm saying, I'm like,
- 1:17:54Speaker 1: fuck is nickoson? But I'm learning, you know what I'm saying.
- 1:17:57Speaker 1: I'm just like, oh, he like, yeah, I'm directing his
- 1:17:59Speaker 1: video for my uh, for my man's artists. I'm like, who, so,
- 1:18:03Speaker 1: my man j Rock. I didn't know who TD was.
- 1:18:06Speaker 1: I didn't know none of that. But I remember, like
- 1:18:10Speaker 1: after Young Money, they was the first people I remember
- 1:18:12Speaker 1: being like, oh, they building some ship like what we're doing.
- 1:18:16Speaker 1: Not the same thing, of course not. But I remember
- 1:18:19Speaker 1: because Schoolboy Q was a part of GED. That was
- 1:18:22Speaker 1: Tiger's crew. I don't want to say Tigers. They was
- 1:18:25Speaker 1: all crew, you know what I'm saying. I remember shouted
- 1:18:27Speaker 1: shout out the Q. I remember I remember Q from
- 1:18:29Speaker 1: being around Tiger, Like, so, I already knew he was nice,
- 1:18:34Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. I already knew Jay Rock
- 1:18:37Speaker 1: from Wayne doing the video. I had heard the apps
- 1:18:42Speaker 1: soul uh. A lot of us knew, like found out
- 1:18:47Speaker 1: about Kendrick. What was this section of section eighty? Section eighty,
- 1:18:53Speaker 1: But he was on one of he was on Drake Shit,
- 1:18:55Speaker 1: he was on like an interlude or something? Am I bugging?
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: Was Kendrick on like a Drake Carter four? Nah, Kendrick
- 1:19:04Speaker 1: was on like because I remember we asked him. He
- 1:19:06Speaker 1: was like, yo, who that I don't remember? He broke
- 1:19:08Speaker 1: down the verse about how Kendrick was talking about how
- 1:19:10Speaker 1: they met and he went here and he was like,
- 1:19:12Speaker 1: that's exactly how it happened. Was it a Drake album?
- 1:19:15Speaker 1: I think that was yo? For real? If I'm bugging
- 1:19:19Speaker 1: right now, how to apologize had to be Carter four.
- 1:19:24Speaker 1: Carter four had all those interviews with like bun be
- 1:19:28Speaker 1: Was it a Drake album? Oh the way, You're right,
- 1:19:32Speaker 1: You're right, You're right. He was on a yeah, on
- 1:19:35Speaker 1: on a Drake album? Kendrick it was on take Care
- 1:19:38Speaker 1: all right, So now I'm peeping. I'm like, but at
- 1:19:43Speaker 1: this time, Ross is doing ye married to Live there
- 1:19:46Speaker 1: you go? Because I remember asking Drake like you know,
- 1:19:48Speaker 1: and he broke in and he was like, YEO, he's
- 1:19:49Speaker 1: not and he was rapping the verse like he said,
- 1:19:51Speaker 1: and that's exactly how it happened, like how we you know, Yeah,
- 1:19:54Speaker 1: Kendrick was already like on his way there. So pd
- 1:19:57Speaker 1: E mayeback music. They took that whole ship and ran
- 1:20:02Speaker 1: with it. That kind of like birthed the whole. And
- 1:20:05Speaker 1: then after that, like Cole look with Dreamville. You know
- 1:20:08Speaker 1: what I'm saying, Like he built that ship. It wasn't quick.
- 1:20:12Speaker 1: But if you if you look at and you look
- 1:20:14Speaker 1: at if you look at the Freshman cover, and I
- 1:20:17Speaker 1: got a lot I got in all sorts of trouble
- 1:20:19Speaker 1: for saying my fucking man was supposed to be under
- 1:20:22Speaker 1: cover I worded. Remember when I said the double XL
- 1:20:24Speaker 1: cover was whack because Vado wasn't on it. Oh. I
- 1:20:28Speaker 1: caught so much flak for that because everybody thought I
- 1:20:30Speaker 1: meant every person on the cover was whack because that
- 1:20:32Speaker 1: was the J Cole Fra Gizz and that was and
- 1:20:35Speaker 1: that was one of the best fucking covers. It turned
- 1:20:38Speaker 1: out to be one of the best covers. I was
- 1:20:40Speaker 1: just mad my home he wasn't on there. I felt
- 1:20:42Speaker 1: he deserved to be on there. Cool worded it wrong.
- 1:20:45Speaker 1: But if you look at from that time on, Cole
- 1:20:48Speaker 1: built Dreamville kind of fast. He had because out of
- 1:20:52Speaker 1: everybody on that cover, him and he had a he
- 1:20:54Speaker 1: had Omens signed to Dreamville. Fro There's a guy named
- 1:20:57Speaker 1: Omen that he had signed to the LA like Dreamgo
- 1:20:59Speaker 1: was a thing for a while. No, but I mean,
- 1:21:02Speaker 1: like from what the public first sword because young money
- 1:21:05Speaker 1: was a thing for a while. Young money been in things.
- 1:21:09Speaker 1: Does Jr. Smith have a young Money tattoo on his throat?
- 1:21:12Speaker 1: Young Money? Is he? I was just was homie, Okay,
- 1:21:16Speaker 1: I didn't know, Yo, Why does this NBA player have
- 1:21:19Speaker 1: a gigantic young money tattoo on his fucking throat? Then? Guys,
- 1:21:23Speaker 1: I when he was at the Bedrock video shooting I noticed.
- 1:21:26Speaker 1: I was like, Oh, she got a stupid, big young
- 1:21:27Speaker 1: money tattoo on his neck. Jesus Christ, the homies. He's
- 1:21:31Speaker 1: gotta regret that tattoo, you know what? Like, I don't
- 1:21:35Speaker 1: really think jayall Smith regrets too much. That might be fair.
- 1:21:38Speaker 1: I don't think anybody who could drink honey on game night,
- 1:21:41Speaker 1: I don't think they regret too much. Man shout out
- 1:21:42Speaker 1: to Jay all Man. So look, your album is out,
- 1:21:45Speaker 1: and is this like the beginning of you putting out
- 1:21:49Speaker 1: a ship ton of like what's your like? Early earlier
- 1:21:52Speaker 1: this year I put out poll Music five. Last year
- 1:21:54Speaker 1: I put out Feels Like I was here before Keywords.
- 1:21:57Speaker 1: My thing right now is just figure out where you
- 1:22:00Speaker 1: fit in? Right now, there's so much shit going on.
- 1:22:03Speaker 1: Like I love the drill shit, of course, I love
- 1:22:07Speaker 1: the lyrical shit. I love the melodic shit. I love
- 1:22:09Speaker 1: the auto tuned shit. I really wish I could fit
- 1:22:12Speaker 1: in all of those lanes. But I've tried it, and
- 1:22:15Speaker 1: I don't just rap. You know what I'm saying, Like
- 1:22:18Speaker 1: I learned, I learned. I say this shit a whole lot.
- 1:22:22Speaker 1: You can probably find a million interviews. Whou I say this.
- 1:22:24Speaker 1: Just because you can do something doesn't mean you should.
- 1:22:27Speaker 1: There you go, man, Come on, man, just because you
- 1:22:29Speaker 1: can do something does not mean you should. You know
- 1:22:32Speaker 1: what I'm saying. Like I could go out and I
- 1:22:37Speaker 1: could fuck ten strippers in the strip club, that doesn't
- 1:22:40Speaker 1: mean you should. There you go. Whether you got a
- 1:22:44Speaker 1: girl at home or not, Well, if you don't have
- 1:22:47Speaker 1: a girl at home, no, it's still it's COVID, it's cold.
- 1:22:51Speaker 1: It shouldn't fuck. You shouldn't have sex with ten different
- 1:22:54Speaker 1: people at all. Right now, I mean pandemic times I
- 1:22:58Speaker 1: concur but you know, just there you go. I was
- 1:23:00Speaker 1: just giving you an analogy. You know what I'm saying.
- 1:23:03Speaker 1: It's like I can DJ you know, I can get
- 1:23:06Speaker 1: on the wheels of still and should I I mean
- 1:23:10Speaker 1: I should probably, I should probably not you can probably
- 1:23:14Speaker 1: you can probably tell him to load a beat up
- 1:23:16Speaker 1: right now, talking ship, I'm not rapping, see now you could?
- 1:23:23Speaker 1: Should you? Should you? Of course? Not like should you
- 1:23:25Speaker 1: really do that? I don't know if you. So That's
- 1:23:29Speaker 1: where I'm at with it, man, I'm just trying to
- 1:23:31Speaker 1: see where I fit in. I'm having fun with this ship.
- 1:23:33Speaker 1: I'm independent with empire. I love my splits, y'all in trouble.
- 1:23:38Speaker 1: When I hit it, hit the liquid one, and I
- 1:23:41Speaker 1: think that that's what that's the beauty of this Eraror.
- 1:23:44Speaker 1: And that's probably what made me leave Young Money too,
- 1:23:47Speaker 1: just realizing I ain't need a machine in this Eraror
- 1:23:49Speaker 1: no more. You know what I'm saying the middle man,
- 1:23:52Speaker 1: it's not the it's like it's not to say it
- 1:23:55Speaker 1: like that. But I come from an era of the machine.
- 1:23:58Speaker 1: I was part of Warner Brothers Machine. I was part
- 1:24:00Speaker 1: of Universal Machine and Steve Rifkin over at SRC and
- 1:24:04Speaker 1: a part of Young Moneys. But you were signing a SRC.
- 1:24:07Speaker 1: I was signed the Universal and then when they started
- 1:24:10Speaker 1: doing a bunch of shifting and ship like that like
- 1:24:13Speaker 1: me and my team, we didn't really like the David
- 1:24:15Speaker 1: Banner Acon era src. Yeah, David Banner was up there.
- 1:24:19Speaker 1: I've been being on the road with David Banner. I've
- 1:24:21Speaker 1: been on the road with Remy there with Akon, Steve Rifkin,
- 1:24:27Speaker 1: Ah man, shout out to Steve Rifkins manage and Buster rhymes,
- 1:24:30Speaker 1: now what Yeah, it's Buster's manager. Know that's dope man,
- 1:24:34Speaker 1: and shout out the Buster too. I've seen an interview
- 1:24:37Speaker 1: with Buster was talking about the surgery. Uh, surgery you had.
- 1:24:42Speaker 1: That shit fucked me up because that's the same surgery
- 1:24:44Speaker 1: I had. And I never really heard nobody like talk
- 1:24:47Speaker 1: about that ship ship like. It scared me from the
- 1:24:50Speaker 1: perspective of Uh, you know, when some shit happened to you,
- 1:24:55Speaker 1: you don't feel it. No, that's a bad analogy. You
- 1:24:59Speaker 1: have a you have a you smoke weed. Yeah, you
- 1:25:03Speaker 1: have a smoke a bunch of weed and then walk
- 1:25:04Speaker 1: in the mall and wonder why everybody looking at you.
- 1:25:07Speaker 1: You think maybe you're sneak. You know, you got the
- 1:25:08Speaker 1: new sneak, you got some new Yeezy's on it. You
- 1:25:09Speaker 1: don't similar and you don't realize you smell like the
- 1:25:13Speaker 1: back of the dispensary, like it all just came in
- 1:25:15Speaker 1: and you opened it and rubbed it all over your skin.
- 1:25:17Speaker 1: But you're high, so you don't you cool? You don't
- 1:25:20Speaker 1: smell that shit that's me, or I don't I smell amazing.
- 1:25:23Speaker 1: I still smell like the colonne I sprayed this morning.
- 1:25:25Speaker 1: You smoked eight blunts since then, meals you don't smell
- 1:25:28Speaker 1: like that. But I'm in it, so I don't see it.
- 1:25:31Speaker 1: I remember the first time I seen Wayne have a
- 1:25:32Speaker 1: seizure on the jet in the air. Now I have siezures.
- 1:25:37Speaker 1: I have sieges in my sleep. Oh wow, like scariest
- 1:25:41Speaker 1: shit ever. So but every time I ever had a
- 1:25:44Speaker 1: siege in my sleep, I wake up and I'm cool, Like,
- 1:25:47Speaker 1: so you were there when we had a seizure, like
- 1:25:51Speaker 1: two different times, scariest shit I ever seen in my
- 1:25:54Speaker 1: life because it made me feel you know, it made
- 1:25:57Speaker 1: me feel like, oh, that's what I look like like.
- 1:26:01Speaker 1: And then when he got up, he was cool. He
- 1:26:03Speaker 1: was like, yo was his like lean usage that bad?
- 1:26:07Speaker 1: I don't know if it was. I don't know if
- 1:26:09Speaker 1: it was the lean because I don't sibling and I
- 1:26:11Speaker 1: have seen everyone's kind of uh come to that conclusion.
- 1:26:16Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't. I can't really say it
- 1:26:18Speaker 1: because once again, I don't sibling, and I have a
- 1:26:21Speaker 1: history of you never sibling. I tried it one time,
- 1:26:26Speaker 1: but I tried it by my quad. I tried it
- 1:26:28Speaker 1: by mistake me and gutta gut it was and hit
- 1:26:30Speaker 1: factory one time and I had a sun kiss and
- 1:26:34Speaker 1: you know, you got the white cups with the ice
- 1:26:36Speaker 1: poured it in there, but I didn't realize that, uh
- 1:26:40Speaker 1: he had some lean and some sun kiss too, you
- 1:26:42Speaker 1: know what I'm saying somewhere. So when I hit the cup,
- 1:26:45Speaker 1: I'm like, oh, this ship tastes sweet, you know, tastes good. Actually,
- 1:26:49Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. But like I'm thinking, maybe
- 1:26:52Speaker 1: you know, it's just a good ass sun kiss, right,
- 1:26:54Speaker 1: And I caught one hit it again. I remember like, oh,
- 1:26:59Speaker 1: I was just like slump beat playing like I'm trying
- 1:27:02Speaker 1: to get up. I feel good though, but I'm just
- 1:27:06Speaker 1: wow comfortable, like and he like, mil bitch, drunk my cup, bitch.
- 1:27:11Speaker 1: I'm like, nah, that was my cup, Like males, your
- 1:27:14Speaker 1: cup over there, bitch, this is my cup right here.
- 1:27:16Speaker 1: I'm like, oh shit. And that's when I realized the
- 1:27:19Speaker 1: whole time I was drinking gutta gutter cup. Did everyone like,
- 1:27:22Speaker 1: was it like a panic when like he had a seizure,
- 1:27:25Speaker 1: because that's an alarming thing to witness, especially Wayne. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:27:29Speaker 1: that shit is a panic. But it was a panic
- 1:27:31Speaker 1: for me because everybody looking at me like males you do, like, yo,
- 1:27:36Speaker 1: I've never I usually be in the molde he's in
- 1:27:40Speaker 1: right now. And I remember when he woke up, like yo,
- 1:27:42Speaker 1: I'm good, everybody, you know, and they had the EMS
- 1:27:45Speaker 1: on the thing. Get the fuck off my jet because
- 1:27:48Speaker 1: we had to land the jet. We was going to La.
- 1:27:50Speaker 1: We had to land the jet for the emest to
- 1:27:52Speaker 1: get on, and now we got to put the jet
- 1:27:53Speaker 1: back up in the air. So rich nigga shit, I'm not.
- 1:27:57Speaker 1: I don't live on rich nigga shit, even with money.
- 1:28:01Speaker 1: I want to live on broke nigga shit. You live
- 1:28:03Speaker 1: like you broke, you'll stay rich man. Put this bitch
- 1:28:07Speaker 1: back up in the motherfucking air, y'all know, not much
- 1:28:09Speaker 1: this fucking gas course. I was like, that guy has
- 1:28:13Speaker 1: a point. Right now. We did land his jet. Now
- 1:28:17Speaker 1: we have to put it back up in the air
- 1:28:19Speaker 1: and land it again. It's a whole nother fee that
- 1:28:22Speaker 1: none of us are paying. He had a seizure though.
- 1:28:24Speaker 1: Now now granted, I'm like I get it. I get
- 1:28:27Speaker 1: where he's coming from. Oh, y'all, get the fuck up
- 1:28:30Speaker 1: my jet. Come on this. I gotta get to LA
- 1:28:31Speaker 1: because he gotta get to LA to do an event,
- 1:28:33Speaker 1: like a video game event or something like that. Now
- 1:28:36Speaker 1: you know you don't do that. Now you have to
- 1:28:38Speaker 1: pay for the gas to put the jet back up again.
- 1:28:40Speaker 1: And you got to give them back that deposit they
- 1:28:42Speaker 1: gave you because you ain't show up to that event.
- 1:28:44Speaker 1: You lost twice. Today jet go back up in the air.
- 1:28:49Speaker 1: He like, Milsy, He like that shit was that bad?
- 1:28:52Speaker 1: It was? It was serious like that. And I promise
- 1:28:55Speaker 1: you I did not want to you know, you don't
- 1:28:57Speaker 1: want to really say that, but I'm like, she was bad. Bro.
- 1:29:02Speaker 1: That was the first time I probably told him soning.
- 1:29:04Speaker 1: He ain't want to hear. It's like, bro, that shit
- 1:29:06Speaker 1: was the scaries shit I've ever seen in my life. Like, like,
- 1:29:09Speaker 1: I don't want to see you like that ever again.
- 1:29:11Speaker 1: My nigga. He's like word, He's like, believe that blood
- 1:29:14Speaker 1: love you know what I'm saying. And then after that
- 1:29:16Speaker 1: when we land, he went to he went to the
- 1:29:19Speaker 1: hospital and that's when he stayed overnight. And you know,
- 1:29:22Speaker 1: but that shit was scary, man, because it's like and
- 1:29:24Speaker 1: that's why I said, I don't want to I don't
- 1:29:26Speaker 1: want to put it to the Lean. I don't. You
- 1:29:28Speaker 1: know what I'm saying, Because when I have seizures, it's
- 1:29:31Speaker 1: from overworking myself. It's high blood pressure and low sugar count.
- 1:29:34Speaker 1: It's it's an imbalance, you know what I'm saying. So
- 1:29:37Speaker 1: it ain't it ain't Perks and Zannies and Lean because
- 1:29:41Speaker 1: I got a history of this shit and I don't
- 1:29:43Speaker 1: do none of that shit, right, you know what I'm saying.
- 1:29:46Speaker 1: Like the closest to a pill, I'm gonna get his
- 1:29:48Speaker 1: partying with an E Pill or Molly back in the day.
- 1:29:50Speaker 1: Just it does seemed like that that is so different
- 1:29:52Speaker 1: people bodies, you know, they it shit hit different. But
- 1:29:55Speaker 1: that that's some scary shit. Damn. Was that like something
- 1:29:59Speaker 1: where like you think that like it maybe changed the
- 1:30:01Speaker 1: way he thought about some of the recreational use of
- 1:30:03Speaker 1: stuff he had going on. Probably probably when you almost die,
- 1:30:07Speaker 1: your life flash before you you think about all sorts
- 1:30:09Speaker 1: of shit that's whether you get shot, you get stabbed,
- 1:30:12Speaker 1: you get jumped, natural causes. I remember when the doctor
- 1:30:15Speaker 1: told me I got you know, I got six months
- 1:30:18Speaker 1: if I don't get this surgery. And then he said,
- 1:30:20Speaker 1: I'm gonna let you be with your lady in six
- 1:30:23Speaker 1: months and walked out like damn, like I'm gonna let
- 1:30:26Speaker 1: you figure out if you want to get this surgery
- 1:30:28Speaker 1: or if you want to wait it out a little bit.
- 1:30:30Speaker 1: And at that time, it's April, my daughter three years old.
- 1:30:34Speaker 1: You're telling me I'm not making it to And then
- 1:30:39Speaker 1: when you go through all that, it's like, nah, I
- 1:30:41Speaker 1: gotta put everything back in perspective. And I promised myself
- 1:30:44Speaker 1: since twenty fifteen, I wouldn't deprive my fans. I wouldn't
- 1:30:48Speaker 1: cheat myself. I wouldn't waste my time overthinking shit or
- 1:30:54Speaker 1: holding the music hostage. You know what I'm saying a
- 1:30:57Speaker 1: lot of times, as artists, we hold music hostage because
- 1:30:59Speaker 1: we playing so much. You're thinking, like, yo, I need
- 1:31:03Speaker 1: I need somebody to push this man, push that shit yourself.
- 1:31:06Speaker 1: You got Instagram, you got Twitter, you got stories, you
- 1:31:08Speaker 1: got timelines. Be annoying, be annoying, Be like the bitches
- 1:31:13Speaker 1: that be like, hey, follow my hot bestie and never
- 1:31:16Speaker 1: met them bitches before, be like that. I know it
- 1:31:20Speaker 1: sounds crazy, fellas, but the moment you swallow that pride
- 1:31:25Speaker 1: and you stop thinking like it's eight or twenty thirteen,
- 1:31:29Speaker 1: this shit is different. Man. People out here making all
- 1:31:32Speaker 1: sorts of money that don't have no hot music. Now.
- 1:31:36Speaker 1: Not saying you need to put out bullshit music, but
- 1:31:41Speaker 1: this is the era of don't work harder, work smarter, man.
- 1:31:44Speaker 1: Facts like I'm the king of working hard. I'm the
- 1:31:48Speaker 1: king of working super super hard. But somewhere not connecting
- 1:31:52Speaker 1: the dots because you so busy working hard, you so
- 1:31:55Speaker 1: busy busting your ass working hard, you ain't connecting the
- 1:31:59Speaker 1: dots with the work, you know what I'm saying. And
- 1:32:02Speaker 1: that's where That's where I'm at with it. I don't
- 1:32:04Speaker 1: know where a lot of other artists at with it,
- 1:32:05Speaker 1: but I feel like everything is different now. Man. We
- 1:32:09Speaker 1: were talking about Tiger over there, and I was telling you,
- 1:32:12Speaker 1: I remember when Tiger came out with the album Singing
- 1:32:14Speaker 1: a few years ago. Now, everybody was laughing at him.
- 1:32:16Speaker 1: Everybody was laughing at him. Ship said, dude, dude, and
- 1:32:20Speaker 1: he never looked back. Tiger had a rough patch. Man,
- 1:32:24Speaker 1: we all do. I mean, like the thing is he
- 1:32:27Speaker 1: gets just kept throwing up shots, and then the taste
- 1:32:31Speaker 1: was I'm gonna say, some real ship. Man. I've been
- 1:32:34Speaker 1: in this game a long time. I know people may
- 1:32:36Speaker 1: not realize it, they may not look at it like that,
- 1:32:39Speaker 1: because I came into this ship young, and I done
- 1:32:41Speaker 1: did battle solo ship young, money, shit and dependent ship
- 1:32:45Speaker 1: ups and downs all that. I've been in this ship
- 1:32:47Speaker 1: two decades. When you in this game as long as
- 1:32:52Speaker 1: somebody like me or you got longevity in this ship
- 1:32:54Speaker 1: and you learn how to stay afloat, you're gonna have
- 1:32:58Speaker 1: some patches. Wheen shit get dropp. Of course, every one
- 1:33:01Speaker 1: of my favorite artists had a dry patch. Nas is
- 1:33:04Speaker 1: one of my favorite artists. Not Stradamus album exists there,
- 1:33:10Speaker 1: Project Windows was so. Jay Z is one of my
- 1:33:12Speaker 1: favorite artists. The Kingdom Come album exists. I would I
- 1:33:18Speaker 1: would argue Kingdom Comes in second words, it exists, you
- 1:33:21Speaker 1: know what I'm saying. Like, however, you want to look
- 1:33:23Speaker 1: at it the same way, same way you said Carter
- 1:33:27Speaker 1: Fall it was cool, it wasn't cool. That might be your,
- 1:33:30Speaker 1: That might be your. It exists. There's a listen if
- 1:33:33Speaker 1: I don't want to die, I tried it. It's a
- 1:33:36Speaker 1: lot of I'm not diving down. Lil Wayne's had a
- 1:33:38Speaker 1: rough decade. Yeah, it's a but you gotta think quality wise.
- 1:33:42Speaker 1: Quarter three and then no Ceilings, and then after no Ceilings,
- 1:33:45Speaker 1: shit just went left. For me as a fan, I
- 1:33:46Speaker 1: was like, all right, listen, yeah, but you gotta take
- 1:33:49Speaker 1: the good with the bad, because if you're gonna take
- 1:33:51Speaker 1: those four or five, then you gotta take the fifteen
- 1:33:53Speaker 1: before that that was a monumental. And now we gotta wait.
- 1:33:57Speaker 1: We got to wait to Drought and Dedication one and
- 1:33:59Speaker 1: dedicate I mean we got a way to card A
- 1:34:02Speaker 1: one to two to three. I just think back to
- 1:34:04Speaker 1: like I Am not a human degrees? What was the
- 1:34:09Speaker 1: rock star album we was doing? Rock music had dropped?
- 1:34:14Speaker 1: I remember that. I remember had dropped the world with
- 1:34:16Speaker 1: eminem which was a solid, solid song that hit number one.
- 1:34:22Speaker 1: The album probably did Little Wayne could literally ship. That's
- 1:34:25Speaker 1: what I mean. Did we listen to the Snoop Lion album?
- 1:34:29Speaker 1: Did we listen to the Snoop Lion album? Of course? Not? Alright,
- 1:34:33Speaker 1: listen to number one Everything's not for every No way
- 1:34:37Speaker 1: the Snoop Dogg album was number one on the Gospel
- 1:34:39Speaker 1: album hit, number one on the bill on the reggae chart.
- 1:34:44Speaker 1: Check it. Okay, wait wait wait what chart are we
- 1:34:47Speaker 1: talking about here, because we're not talking about the overall Billboard.
- 1:34:50Speaker 1: All I'm telling you is, I'll give you ten thousand
- 1:34:52Speaker 1: dollars right now if if Snoop Dog's had a number
- 1:34:54Speaker 1: one overall album in the last seven years on Billboard,
- 1:34:58Speaker 1: you don't think now, you don't think gospel chart, yes,
- 1:35:01Speaker 1: because there's like two gospels. We move in the goal post. Now,
- 1:35:05Speaker 1: come on, no, you just moved a gold post. I'm
- 1:35:07Speaker 1: telling you. Everything's not for everybody. He might have been
- 1:35:10Speaker 1: number one on the reggae chart. That's number one, No,
- 1:35:14Speaker 1: but not number one like number one it's number one.
- 1:35:17Speaker 1: That's like saying I got a number one death metal
- 1:35:19Speaker 1: song out right now, Like it's like yeah, but like
- 1:35:21Speaker 1: it's number one. It's number one to somebody in the genre. No,
- 1:35:25Speaker 1: you know what you just said. It's number one to somebody,
- 1:35:28Speaker 1: may not be number one to you. They shout out
- 1:35:30Speaker 1: to Wayne Man, shout out to Snoop too, shout shout
- 1:35:32Speaker 1: the Snoop. But we're not slandering them. What We're basically
- 1:35:36Speaker 1: saying is when you have longevity like a Wayne or Snoop,
- 1:35:41Speaker 1: you're gonna have some drop patches. Were you disappointed number
- 1:35:44Speaker 1: Carter five? It was cool? It wasn't It wasn't the
- 1:35:49Speaker 1: other Carters. It wasn't like Carter two. It wasn't like
- 1:35:51Speaker 1: Carter three, it wasn't like Carter four. I actually think
- 1:35:53Speaker 1: it was better than Carter four. But that's not saying
- 1:35:55Speaker 1: much because I thought Cardi four was and now you see,
- 1:35:57Speaker 1: but but that's you. I think Carter four better than
- 1:36:00Speaker 1: Carter five. So because you were around like the Carter
- 1:36:04Speaker 1: five ship. I know a lot of those songs were
- 1:36:07Speaker 1: older obviously, but like how many I don't think I
- 1:36:10Speaker 1: was around for Carter five. I don't know. You weren't
- 1:36:12Speaker 1: around when it came out, but I mean like they
- 1:36:13Speaker 1: had to be, like it changed so much, That's what
- 1:36:16Speaker 1: I mean, because there was a change. It was supposed
- 1:36:18Speaker 1: to come out for so long, and then he was
- 1:36:20Speaker 1: getting held against his will by baby Oh the free Wheezy.
- 1:36:25Speaker 1: I remember that he put that on the title. Yeah, man,
- 1:36:30Speaker 1: well shout out to it, shot through my man tune
- 1:36:32Speaker 1: and he worked through it. He worked through it, man,
- 1:36:35Speaker 1: like That's That's one thing I will say about Wayne.
- 1:36:38Speaker 1: He ain't never lay down, you know what I'm saying.
- 1:36:40Speaker 1: It's a lot of rappers that was out when he
- 1:36:43Speaker 1: was out. They don't they laid down, you know what
- 1:36:47Speaker 1: I'm saying. They threw the towel and they was like,
- 1:36:49Speaker 1: fuck it. You know what I'm saying. He rapped through it.
- 1:36:51Speaker 1: Even if it was some ship that you didn't want
- 1:36:53Speaker 1: to hear, he rapped through it, you know what I'm saying.
- 1:36:56Speaker 1: So everybody gonna have they dry spots. But I'll be
- 1:36:58Speaker 1: feeling like I'm or for the comeback story. I'm more
- 1:37:02Speaker 1: for like, damn, how did you bounce back off that ship?
- 1:37:04Speaker 1: Come on, man, they counted Drake out. Everybody was, oh, ship,
- 1:37:08Speaker 1: you had a son? You fucking don't. It's because Drake
- 1:37:11Speaker 1: lost the battle. I didn't. They counted. They counted Meek
- 1:37:15Speaker 1: out too. Is that a world that they counted him out?
- 1:37:19Speaker 1: Everyone counted out your dub You got wat juice all over.
- 1:37:24Speaker 1: This is true, and it changed. I remember seeing it
- 1:37:26Speaker 1: in my own eyes, like and everything changed. I remember
- 1:37:29Speaker 1: people really trying to say, like Drake was done. I
- 1:37:32Speaker 1: don't know about that. Drake got fried up. By it.
- 1:37:36Speaker 1: I always that I was Drake. I was like I
- 1:37:39Speaker 1: was living out here. None of Drake's fans know who
- 1:37:41Speaker 1: pushed it to you, I was living out here. They
- 1:37:44Speaker 1: thought Aubrey was done in terms of that battle. He
- 1:37:49Speaker 1: was done. They thought Drake was done. They thought he
- 1:37:54Speaker 1: was done for And that was the only time he
- 1:37:57Speaker 1: had any sort of stench. Well not the only time.
- 1:37:59Speaker 1: Shout to quintin that that that that was funny when
- 1:38:04Speaker 1: he said, uh damn a nigga got points for saying
- 1:38:08Speaker 1: I had a son, My points for saying who my
- 1:38:14Speaker 1: girl was Drake definitively And you know what happened after that.
- 1:38:20Speaker 1: He took the L and then God's plan came. Of course,
- 1:38:23Speaker 1: that's not an L in that specific battle. Now, look,
- 1:38:27Speaker 1: I'm not because I don't want to shoot on push
- 1:38:28Speaker 1: your tea because I'm not. I'm not. I don't have
- 1:38:30Speaker 1: anything to do with that anymore. But push a push
- 1:38:32Speaker 1: a put put through that out. If Drake never even replied,
- 1:38:35Speaker 1: I could take if I could take that, if I
- 1:38:38Speaker 1: could take that one, if that's the last high point
- 1:38:42Speaker 1: that we have for pushing tea, Oh, come on, Daytona
- 1:38:44Speaker 1: came out after that. I said it's a classic album.
- 1:38:47Speaker 1: But you're not talking to me about a classic album
- 1:38:49Speaker 1: right now. You're talking to me about a verse over
- 1:38:53Speaker 1: a jay Z beat, which was a little light something
- 1:38:56Speaker 1: and so light. And then I'm telling you, and then
- 1:38:59Speaker 1: God's Plan came out, and then we forgot about anything
- 1:39:03Speaker 1: that had to do with Push your Tea. Now I'm
- 1:39:05Speaker 1: saying as far as Drake go, because I can't, just
- 1:39:08Speaker 1: because because I gotta keep this a buck right now,
- 1:39:10Speaker 1: I can't shoot on Push your Tea, like push your
- 1:39:12Speaker 1: Tea career, don't take my career and like put his
- 1:39:15Speaker 1: foot on it and like move it around a little
- 1:39:17Speaker 1: bit like that. You know what I'm saying. I'm a realist,
- 1:39:19Speaker 1: but I'm also going to be a realist and tell
- 1:39:21Speaker 1: you after that high point for Push your Tea, I
- 1:39:26Speaker 1: don't remember. Look, and somebody might be like Mills, I
- 1:39:30Speaker 1: don't remember how point from you ever shut I get
- 1:39:32Speaker 1: it technically came out. We just haven't. We just haven't
- 1:39:35Speaker 1: regular just regular conversation. Yeah, listen, long time, but look,
- 1:39:45Speaker 1: but look, look, because I love Drake man, I love Drake.
- 1:39:48Speaker 1: Anything with young money involved, I'm taking the young money side.
- 1:39:50Speaker 1: I don't give a fuck Drake did ordered a microphone
- 1:39:56Speaker 1: with push your T's autograph on it back in the days. Yeah,
- 1:40:01Speaker 1: because I remember when I seen that and I was like,
- 1:40:04Speaker 1: you might, you might. That was like a bad one,
- 1:40:06Speaker 1: but then you know, but then that turns out, that
- 1:40:08Speaker 1: turns into like the super senior's still bothering the freshman.
- 1:40:11Speaker 1: It's like, Bro, go to college. I push it's that guy, Bro,
- 1:40:13Speaker 1: Now push it. Look listen, Push your te is undeniably literally,
- 1:40:18Speaker 1: it's probably not impossible for Drake to like lose in
- 1:40:21Speaker 1: the grand scheme of things because he's the biggest ever. Look, people,
- 1:40:25Speaker 1: you can no, you can't lose. You can lose because people.
- 1:40:29Speaker 1: You you have people that will say, now Drake lost
- 1:40:32Speaker 1: that battle. Then you have people that say you won
- 1:40:34Speaker 1: the battle. You got people saying he won the battle.
- 1:40:37Speaker 1: You literally have people that they're like twelve year old
- 1:40:40Speaker 1: white kids who don't know what what what see? But
- 1:40:43Speaker 1: see what you know what you're saying right now? You
- 1:40:45Speaker 1: move in the goal post. The goal post is who
- 1:40:47Speaker 1: cares how old they are. There are people that will
- 1:40:50Speaker 1: say ether was whack because they are jay Z stands.
- 1:40:54Speaker 1: First of all, I'm a no stand, I'm a nod stand. Too,
- 1:40:56Speaker 1: and you're knock. My favorite me to beat was Whack.
- 1:40:59Speaker 1: But also, I mean you know what Ether was before that? Yeah? Okay,
- 1:41:03Speaker 1: so listen in retrospect. In retrospect, say it takeover? Was it?
- 1:41:11Speaker 1: Say no no? But Takeover wasn't a special it was
- 1:41:14Speaker 1: There was a NOAs line in there. Right. If we're
- 1:41:18Speaker 1: talking about which song is better sonically to listen to,
- 1:41:24Speaker 1: why does he move the gold? Because Ether is a
- 1:41:28Speaker 1: better disc record but the but which song is better
- 1:41:32Speaker 1: to listen to it? I didn't ask you which song
- 1:41:34Speaker 1: was better? I said who lost jay Z? And I
- 1:41:37Speaker 1: said there are people like you who still say but
- 1:41:39Speaker 1: the better than the It's almost like when you watched
- 1:41:45Speaker 1: Belly as a kid and you were like, Yo, this
- 1:41:46Speaker 1: ship is fire. But then you watch it as a
- 1:41:48Speaker 1: grown ass man and you like the last twenty minutes
- 1:41:50Speaker 1: and you're life watch But it's really a good movie.
- 1:41:52Speaker 1: If you've been hustling and you went out of town
- 1:41:54Speaker 1: and you got money and you had to drive around
- 1:41:56Speaker 1: and intrepid and a nigga snitched on you, and then
- 1:41:58Speaker 1: you was getting money and then you had to you
- 1:42:00Speaker 1: did that before, is a great movie. It's I don't
- 1:42:03Speaker 1: know if you did that before. I don't know. You
- 1:42:05Speaker 1: keep saying that. There's people that say, y'all, y'all really
- 1:42:11Speaker 1: like push your tea in the I don't like to
- 1:42:12Speaker 1: push your tea too. I love the album, Like what
- 1:42:15Speaker 1: are you talking about? So? Who won the battle? The
- 1:42:20Speaker 1: overall battle? No? Or the four four four Freestyle and
- 1:42:25Speaker 1: the other ship? Like the other ship for them? I
- 1:42:27Speaker 1: like four Freestyle because it had I didn't. We didn't
- 1:42:30Speaker 1: know he had a son. And you think Drake should
- 1:42:32Speaker 1: have should have replied. I think that would have been
- 1:42:36Speaker 1: good for Rap. I think that would have been good
- 1:42:38Speaker 1: for Rap if you apply. I think it was a
- 1:42:40Speaker 1: bad look that he didn't reply, and it was a
- 1:42:42Speaker 1: bad look that he wasn't that similar to did Meek reply, Well, no,
- 1:42:46Speaker 1: Meek didn't need a reply because Jesus Christ. His reply
- 1:42:49Speaker 1: to Fucking Back to Back was atrocious. It was he
- 1:42:52Speaker 1: ruined the Undertaker's theme song. It was really bad. It
- 1:42:56Speaker 1: was over. It was like, okay, dude, Drake just hits
- 1:42:58Speaker 1: you with two of them brouh and then you coming
- 1:43:00Speaker 1: back with this bullshit. But but see on top of
- 1:43:03Speaker 1: that and listen with me. But I and and and
- 1:43:06Speaker 1: and I'm not the biggest Drake fan in the world,
- 1:43:08Speaker 1: but he undoubtedly beat the ship out of Meek milling
- 1:43:11Speaker 1: that it was. It wasn't even a fucking question. It
- 1:43:14Speaker 1: was really sad. I remember We're in Tampa and I
- 1:43:17Speaker 1: was just sitting there, like, man, it might really be
- 1:43:19Speaker 1: over for Meek Man because this was when he was
- 1:43:22Speaker 1: on Twitter tweet because that's when you know what he
- 1:43:26Speaker 1: was like what he had the Trump Twitter fingers and
- 1:43:27Speaker 1: you know what it be sometimes too. You know it'd
- 1:43:29Speaker 1: be sometimes too. Sometimes you can dig a hole with
- 1:43:35Speaker 1: uh the fans. I know this from battling like you
- 1:43:39Speaker 1: could talk so much ship that they want to see
- 1:43:41Speaker 1: you lose. Like I think that's what happened with Meek
- 1:43:45Speaker 1: like Drake, not to say like back to back, but listen,
- 1:43:48Speaker 1: Meek jumped out though yeah he was talking crazy you
- 1:43:52Speaker 1: you you you made it with Drake looked like he
- 1:43:54Speaker 1: was countering. So you made people be like, you made
- 1:43:58Speaker 1: people pick sides, you made them be like, now we
- 1:44:01Speaker 1: like him more than you. Even if you're right, you
- 1:44:05Speaker 1: know what I'm saying, if you've given us you know
- 1:44:08Speaker 1: what to go back to the Kanye jay Z ship,
- 1:44:10Speaker 1: even if you're giving us evidence and you're right, we
- 1:44:13Speaker 1: don't care. That's what I've seen at that time, and
- 1:44:18Speaker 1: I think we don't give a fuck. We still like
- 1:44:24Speaker 1: him more than you, and that's I think that's when
- 1:44:26Speaker 1: it was just like, hold up, he don't write. He
- 1:44:29Speaker 1: didn't write that ship though, so we don't care. I
- 1:44:32Speaker 1: ain't need one dance and we're gonna say those songs too. Hey,
- 1:44:36Speaker 1: back to back was crazy. The fact that you had
- 1:44:38Speaker 1: to go to a night club for an X amount
- 1:44:40Speaker 1: of years and hear the disc song in every club
- 1:44:44Speaker 1: for two years straight. That ship was I'm a I'm
- 1:44:46Speaker 1: a fan. I'm a fan of all of the disrecord ship.
- 1:44:49Speaker 1: That's why I like this type of conversation, whether it's Pushers,
- 1:44:51Speaker 1: Drake Drake or Knives or whole no, whoever you I
- 1:44:57Speaker 1: don't care if you want to talk about Kim and
- 1:44:58Speaker 1: fifty close beef though, Beanie Seagull and Jada, Yo, how
- 1:45:02Speaker 1: did you take that? Look a here? Why this nigga
- 1:45:05Speaker 1: took it here? Earnt my spot? Ain't nobody put me
- 1:45:08Speaker 1: here closest you hear the Beanie shit and the Jada shit,
- 1:45:12Speaker 1: You're like, oh, so now this conversation is going somewhere
- 1:45:16Speaker 1: else that was a time of like that was like
- 1:45:20Speaker 1: a real time of like niggas study and like them disraps.
- 1:45:24Speaker 1: When I'm talking about the cruise, I was talking about
- 1:45:27Speaker 1: d Block and dipseid g Unit, State Property. I remember
- 1:45:31Speaker 1: that beef. That beef went for a long time. That
- 1:45:34Speaker 1: beef went from DJ Clue mixtapes to State Property. Would
- 1:45:37Speaker 1: drive from Philly to New York and go up the
- 1:45:39Speaker 1: funk Master Flex and rap for a hour. Fuck SPJ
- 1:45:42Speaker 1: Hood died to looking out for Nazi a nigga. When
- 1:45:44Speaker 1: I find you, I'm like, whoa, Like they're from Philly.
- 1:45:48Speaker 1: They're at the radio station on Hudson Street. Right now.
- 1:45:52Speaker 1: This is live. This isn't like a pre recorded thing.
- 1:45:55Speaker 1: And then like two days later kissing them or come
- 1:45:59Speaker 1: up there stay. I was to come out with some ship.
- 1:46:01Speaker 1: Fuck Beanie Siegel. He could suck my dick with the
- 1:46:03Speaker 1: ship up on it. WHOA, whoa? What did he just say?
- 1:46:07Speaker 1: They got to see each other at some point, you
- 1:46:09Speaker 1: know what I'm saying. So that's why when I think
- 1:46:11Speaker 1: about like the new beefs and it's like somebody might
- 1:46:14Speaker 1: put out a freestyle and in this one put out
- 1:46:16Speaker 1: like nah, this ship went from Powerhouse to live performances
- 1:46:20Speaker 1: the niggas throwing French fries at niggas on that stage.
- 1:46:23Speaker 1: Came out that see that's different than you freestyle over
- 1:46:29Speaker 1: somebody beat and you put it out and deer what
- 1:46:31Speaker 1: you're saying With that being said, that was gra replied
- 1:46:35Speaker 1: he I wanted him to the white flag and said,
- 1:46:38Speaker 1: shit got too real, guys. I wanted to reply, you know,
- 1:46:41Speaker 1: I think that would have got bad because I think
- 1:46:42Speaker 1: at some point Drake would have started saying, like which
- 1:46:44Speaker 1: people wives he fucked and stuff like that. I think
- 1:46:46Speaker 1: it would have gotten bad because pusha t had like
- 1:46:49Speaker 1: five or six records just waiting for this for like,
- 1:46:53Speaker 1: you want to know what's crazy? I said that, and
- 1:46:54Speaker 1: everybody in the room face it because Drake everyone's wives,
- 1:47:00Speaker 1: because that could have got so bad. That could have
- 1:47:03Speaker 1: gotten so that could have gotten so bad, like that
- 1:47:06Speaker 1: could have got so bad of the like, oh, you
- 1:47:09Speaker 1: think people write for me? I wrote for him? You
- 1:47:14Speaker 1: talk about Kanye? Think who gives everyone knows con Ryan
- 1:47:18Speaker 1: ft and said, Ryan Fest wrote, Jesus, well, why are
- 1:47:22Speaker 1: you so quick to tell me when somebody wrote for Kanye?
- 1:47:25Speaker 1: But you wasn't quick to tell me what Kanye wrote
- 1:47:27Speaker 1: for jay Z. Kanye is my favorite artist ever. Listen,
- 1:47:32Speaker 1: what I'm saying is Kanye is my favorite artist, but
- 1:47:36Speaker 1: MC is nos on. My favorite overall artist is Kanye.
- 1:47:38Speaker 1: But you're not You're overlooking. You're overlooking the same thing
- 1:47:42Speaker 1: that you would put on him that he's did for
- 1:47:44Speaker 1: other people. Because I never I don't, I don't think people,
- 1:47:48Speaker 1: how can we How can you just Drake for having
- 1:47:51Speaker 1: no no, not you, but just I'm just thinking, how
- 1:47:54Speaker 1: could you dis Drake for having a ghost writer If
- 1:47:58Speaker 1: the person you're assigned to he writes for, that's weird.
- 1:48:03Speaker 1: This is all weird. Like we're talking, we're talking. What
- 1:48:07Speaker 1: are we're talking? Gnis, you don't even know what you
- 1:48:08Speaker 1: want to say. He's a gladiator. He's a Jedi when
- 1:48:13Speaker 1: it comes to this rap ship. He's a fucking Jedi.
- 1:48:16Speaker 1: You don't even know what you want to say. Right now,
- 1:48:18Speaker 1: I'm saying, we moved the goal post for certain People's
- 1:48:21Speaker 1: nothing to do with this. He has everything to do
- 1:48:25Speaker 1: with this. Push your Teas hated Drake before he was
- 1:48:28Speaker 1: bro I'm not even talking about pushing Tea. What are
- 1:48:32Speaker 1: we I'm just talking about Drake and the ghost writing thing.
- 1:48:36Speaker 1: Kanye has everything to do with it. Don't care that
- 1:48:40Speaker 1: ghost ghost writers that people could say wrote for ya
- 1:48:44Speaker 1: or wrote for this one. I could turn around and say,
- 1:48:47Speaker 1: but yay wrote for jay Z. If we're gonna do that, okay,
- 1:48:51Speaker 1: So now we gotta say jay Z has ghost writers,
- 1:48:54Speaker 1: and that's a whole different conversation. But we don't want
- 1:48:58Speaker 1: to have that conversation. Don't want to. I want to
- 1:49:01Speaker 1: do business with rock Nation and Title, so I don't
- 1:49:04Speaker 1: want to have this conversation. But I have to keep
- 1:49:06Speaker 1: it real and tell you that I have footage and
- 1:49:11Speaker 1: evidence that Kanye West came in the studio and gave
- 1:49:15Speaker 1: him a song, a hook, and a bridge. I gotta
- 1:49:19Speaker 1: get these devils out my life. That's Kanye. I'm from
- 1:49:21Speaker 1: the murder capital where we murder for that's Kanye, loser
- 1:49:26Speaker 1: for louserf I did the beat that I gave you,
- 1:49:29Speaker 1: that I wrote that for you. That's no different than
- 1:49:32Speaker 1: with Quentin Miller differs. I don't disagree, But so jay
- 1:49:36Speaker 1: Z don't got ghost writers. Blame me. The Kanye reference
- 1:49:40Speaker 1: it's in Fade the Black movie. You want me to
- 1:49:42Speaker 1: find a time stip for you? I know it's in there.
- 1:49:43Speaker 1: I remember I have the movie on DVD. I could go.
- 1:49:45Speaker 1: You just don't want we don't want to accept that.
- 1:49:47Speaker 1: I fuck that shit, right, Like, this is what I
- 1:49:50Speaker 1: would say. I think Drake is one of the greatest
- 1:49:52Speaker 1: artists that shit. Fuck that ship. I don't put Kanye
- 1:49:55Speaker 1: nor Drake in the top MC's like like top ten,
- 1:49:59Speaker 1: you can put them top artists exactly now we're talking
- 1:50:02Speaker 1: about like MC ship like, I can't put them in
- 1:50:04Speaker 1: that because because it is very very come on man,
- 1:50:11Speaker 1: that fucking on crowd in two thousand and one. But
- 1:50:14Speaker 1: Kanye wrote for him on him Black album, a couple
- 1:50:17Speaker 1: of lines on a beat that he had brought to him.
- 1:50:20Speaker 1: No no no no no no no no no no.
- 1:50:22Speaker 1: He gave him a bridge, a hook and lines, and
- 1:50:25Speaker 1: jay Z went in in and said it word for word. Now,
- 1:50:28Speaker 1: I don't want to say I will get I don't
- 1:50:31Speaker 1: want to say. I don't want to say Kanye wrote
- 1:50:34Speaker 1: for jay Z. But if we're gonna move the gold
- 1:50:37Speaker 1: post for certain people, you gotta keep it a buck.
- 1:50:42Speaker 1: We gotta we gotta keep it a buck. Jay Z
- 1:50:44Speaker 1: wrote for Bugs Bunny on the Space, jay Z wrote
- 1:50:47Speaker 1: for Doctor Dre and Snoop Dogg. I'm aware, but we
- 1:50:50Speaker 1: won't say. But we won't say Snoop had ghost writers
- 1:50:52Speaker 1: until Snoop came out a couple of weeks ago and said,
- 1:50:55Speaker 1: hell yeah, he wrote that ship for me. Yeah, but again,
- 1:50:59Speaker 1: why we don't how we don't look at it like that?
- 1:51:02Speaker 1: And I love all these people. I'm not shitting on them.
- 1:51:04Speaker 1: I'm just trying to play Devil's advocate. Like if jay
- 1:51:06Speaker 1: Z could tell me, I mean, if Snoop could tell
- 1:51:08Speaker 1: me that jay Z wrote Still dr E and like,
- 1:51:10Speaker 1: hell ya, that shit was banging. So I said, I
- 1:51:12Speaker 1: won't say that. Let me I say that shit. And
- 1:51:14Speaker 1: then I could tell you Kanye gave jay Z some
- 1:51:16Speaker 1: shit he's not, I said, Snoop, while you overlook that,
- 1:51:21Speaker 1: you good man, You've been in this journalism shit too, Snoop.
- 1:51:24Speaker 1: If we're talking about Snoop, Snoop also somebody who openly
- 1:51:28Speaker 1: admits to freestyling at this point, and they got to
- 1:51:32Speaker 1: do with other people writing for you and has also
- 1:51:34Speaker 1: openly admitted what does that have to do with jay Z? Right?
- 1:51:36Speaker 1: And are we putting Snoop Dogg in the top ten discussion?
- 1:51:39Speaker 1: He's top twenty, But I wouldn't put him in the
- 1:51:41Speaker 1: top ten, top ten? What MC's who was doing top anything?
- 1:51:45Speaker 1: Right now? Talking to MC, I'm just talking about you know,
- 1:51:48Speaker 1: you're talking MC's, we're talking about ghostwriters. You you just
- 1:51:51Speaker 1: made a whole different conversation for us to talk about.
- 1:51:54Speaker 1: Now we're talking Top twenty. So Snoop not top ten,
- 1:51:56Speaker 1: no top ten? What MC's So what is Snoop? If
- 1:52:01Speaker 1: he if he could freestyle off the top of his head,
- 1:52:03Speaker 1: top twenty, I think I think I think it's doggy.
- 1:52:06Speaker 1: I think Snoop's discography doggy style. Dog Father here is
- 1:52:12Speaker 1: the biggest rapper ever that you're probably right about. I
- 1:52:15Speaker 1: didn't say he's the best or the greatest. I said
- 1:52:17Speaker 1: he's the biggest rapper ever. He has the biggest debut.
- 1:52:20Speaker 1: He got one of the longest illustrious career. He done
- 1:52:26Speaker 1: had his dry patch. He had his dry patch when
- 1:52:28Speaker 1: nobody was fucking with him and he had to go
- 1:52:29Speaker 1: to New Orleans and he bounced back. You know what
- 1:52:33Speaker 1: I'm saying. He did have a dry patch, just like
- 1:52:35Speaker 1: Doctor Dre had a dry patch. But I've been there
- 1:52:37Speaker 1: and I've done this. Dog Father. What he did was
- 1:52:40Speaker 1: he put out one album I didn't say they don't.
- 1:52:42Speaker 1: I said he had a draft patch. But his first
- 1:52:44Speaker 1: album was No Limit. I said, that fucking air ball.
- 1:52:47Speaker 1: I said, but that's the dry patch. But that was
- 1:52:51Speaker 1: that was with New Orleans. That was with no limit. No,
- 1:52:54Speaker 1: he got with no limit because he was in the
- 1:52:55Speaker 1: studio doing a verse for Mystical for thirty five hundred
- 1:52:58Speaker 1: dollars that had no fucking That is a did you
- 1:53:03Speaker 1: hear what I just said, Snoop Dogg got with no Limit.
- 1:53:06Speaker 1: You said he was in the studio doing a feature
- 1:53:09Speaker 1: with Mystical for thirty five hundred dollars. He said, he
- 1:53:13Speaker 1: was fucked up, and Masterpiece said, you know what, I'm
- 1:53:15Speaker 1: gonna give you thirty five thousand, and I'm gonna go
- 1:53:17Speaker 1: meet with sug Knight. He was. That was a dry
- 1:53:19Speaker 1: spot before No Limit. Okay, are we talking about financial
- 1:53:23Speaker 1: dry spots or or quality of music dry spots? He
- 1:53:26Speaker 1: didn't have nothing going, That's why he was doing it.
- 1:53:28Speaker 1: I mean dry spot. He had doggy style, he had
- 1:53:31Speaker 1: dog father. No, I'm telling there was no No. I'm
- 1:53:33Speaker 1: telling you what Snoop Dogg said. I'm not telling you
- 1:53:35Speaker 1: what I think. I'm telling you that. He said he
- 1:53:37Speaker 1: was in the financial dry spot because Sugar Knight was
- 1:53:40Speaker 1: probably no, I don't have nothing. I don't have no deal.
- 1:53:42Speaker 1: I'm fucked up. I need you to come get me
- 1:53:44Speaker 1: out of my deal. This is my dry spot. I
- 1:53:47Speaker 1: am in a deal with a gang member. It's a
- 1:53:49Speaker 1: lot bigger than me, and I can't do shit. That's
- 1:53:51Speaker 1: why I'm here doing this verse for thirty five hundred.
- 1:53:54Speaker 1: And I have an album called Doggie Style, and I'm
- 1:53:57Speaker 1: here doing a verse for thirty five hundred for Mystical.
- 1:54:00Speaker 1: That's a draft spot. That's that was before No Limit.
- 1:54:02Speaker 1: That's a draft spot. But he bounced back. He bounced
- 1:54:05Speaker 1: back from that. So that's just I'm talking about this
- 1:54:09Speaker 1: quality of music wise dry spots. Yeah, you had a
- 1:54:12Speaker 1: dray spot there too. Oh, definitely. Every everybody has draft spots. Man.
- 1:54:16Speaker 1: That that's that's I can't sit up here and say
- 1:54:18Speaker 1: I can't name one artist that had a full career
- 1:54:22Speaker 1: of You could have said Kanye until fucking this old
- 1:54:26Speaker 1: Jesus King came out. That just fuck it was a
- 1:54:29Speaker 1: fuck it that was atrocious. You think Jesus King was
- 1:54:33Speaker 1: the first one? Uh, I mean personally, Jesus was was
- 1:54:36Speaker 1: the one Jesus has changed sonics and music. I didn't
- 1:54:39Speaker 1: ask you that. I said the one yes I listened
- 1:54:41Speaker 1: to and Heartbreaks changed the sonics and music. I think
- 1:54:44Speaker 1: you're a couple of albums late with the Jesus. First
- 1:54:46Speaker 1: of all, sir, relaxed. I'm just telling you wanna find
- 1:54:48Speaker 1: a bigger Kanye fan in the world than me. Second
- 1:54:50Speaker 1: of all, that's what will me. Kanye literally has changed
- 1:54:53Speaker 1: it over and over as and Heartbreaks made Drake possible. Okay, so,
- 1:55:00Speaker 1: but but Jesus did the same thing for Travis, for
- 1:55:04Speaker 1: all these people. Like the sonics that Kanye brought into
- 1:55:07Speaker 1: hip hop on Jesus was crazy, bro, Jesus is that ship? Yes?
- 1:55:12Speaker 1: You don't think Travis Scott was already making that sound.
- 1:55:14Speaker 1: Travis Scott was working with Kanye on Yees. Travis Scott
- 1:55:17Speaker 1: was on Grand Hustle. No ship, but no, but Travis
- 1:55:20Speaker 1: Scott was worked on Jesus with Kanye. He also was
- 1:55:24Speaker 1: on Grand Hustle before he met Kanye. I underware he
- 1:55:27Speaker 1: was doing songs with Young Thug and all that when
- 1:55:29Speaker 1: he had Little Twists. That was on days before Rodeo.
- 1:55:33Speaker 1: I know, but but that was we're talking about before
- 1:55:35Speaker 1: what you're talking about. I'm telling you that that sound
- 1:55:37Speaker 1: was around before Kanye. He didn't bring it anywhere. Somebody
- 1:55:40Speaker 1: bought it. You know what he did speak He sampled
- 1:55:43Speaker 1: Travis Scott. You know, Waits and Heartbreaks wasn't a sound
- 1:55:46Speaker 1: that he brought to us. Neither Kid Cut He brought
- 1:55:48Speaker 1: it to him. Bro and Wayne was already doing love
- 1:55:52Speaker 1: Lockdown came. What Kanye does is he sampled. He samples
- 1:55:56Speaker 1: people's creative. He sampled Kid Cuddy as a huge human
- 1:56:00Speaker 1: being for Awaits and Heartbreaks. Jay Z sampled all of
- 1:56:04Speaker 1: the Philly niggas Flow too, definitely. Oh yeah, young, I
- 1:56:07Speaker 1: was just talking about you swiped it. You want to say,
- 1:56:09Speaker 1: sample or swipe? Which one we're gonna use? But the
- 1:56:11Speaker 1: problem is is that those guys were in the studie.
- 1:56:13Speaker 1: Kid Cuddy was there for Awaits and Harbor right and
- 1:56:16Speaker 1: Scott was there for years. And I swiped that and
- 1:56:18Speaker 1: I took it to a bigger level. Exactly. I didn't
- 1:56:20Speaker 1: create it. I didn't say created said that that album
- 1:56:23Speaker 1: made it J Dilla sound. I'm not into the I
- 1:56:27Speaker 1: don't like I swiped it. It was hot and I
- 1:56:30Speaker 1: swiped it. Was in Atlanta, it was hot. The difference.
- 1:56:34Speaker 1: I'm not that, I'm not that I'm a creative. He did,
- 1:56:37Speaker 1: I know a sound he was always gonna give Kanye.
- 1:56:40Speaker 1: Kanye was heavily influenced by Cutting on a Ways and Heartbreaks,
- 1:56:43Speaker 1: but cut. He was a part of that fucking album.
- 1:56:45Speaker 1: He was heavily and was in the studio. He was heavy, alright,
- 1:56:49Speaker 1: He was heavily and it was by Travis. Song like
- 1:56:53Speaker 1: Day and Night from Kanye until Kid Cuddy was with
- 1:56:57Speaker 1: we never heard and I can't stop winning. I can't
- 1:57:00Speaker 1: we ned vibe from Kanye until so we can't say
- 1:57:04Speaker 1: he did that. We all know that he did do
- 1:57:06Speaker 1: It was a cutty thing. What do you mean he
- 1:57:08Speaker 1: did it all of it. Yes, it was a cutty
- 1:57:10Speaker 1: thing that Kanye did and did it ten times. Scott. No, no,
- 1:57:15Speaker 1: So you're not you're telling me. You're telling me Kid Cuddy.
- 1:57:18Speaker 1: It's not Travis West. You're telling Travis Scott for Kid Cuddy.
- 1:57:22Speaker 1: It's okay. So they're his kids, they're his kids. Don't know.
- 1:57:26Speaker 1: Cuddy's one of the most influential artists ever and Kanye
- 1:57:29Speaker 1: is too. I'm not taking out away, but you got
- 1:57:30Speaker 1: a credit due you think Kid Cuddy puts out a
- 1:57:34Speaker 1: kid named Cuddy mixtape which was My Ship, which was
- 1:57:36Speaker 1: like his first tape that everyone jumped on. And if
- 1:57:40Speaker 1: it don't, if Kanye don't get behind Cuddi's moved like else.
- 1:57:44Speaker 1: No know, what I'm saying is Kanye executed. He brought
- 1:57:47Speaker 1: them dudes in the studio and they bought the sound.
- 1:57:50Speaker 1: They bought that and he knocked out the park. No,
- 1:57:53Speaker 1: you swiped because your sound is J Dilla backpack. Your
- 1:57:56Speaker 1: sound ain't I got brought in that limb. Yeah, but
- 1:57:58Speaker 1: see that's not even hits. In the graduation, he was
- 1:58:01Speaker 1: sampling Daft punk and Ship. Like every single Kanye album
- 1:58:03Speaker 1: sonically grows and is different. If you go to college dropout,
- 1:58:06Speaker 1: you can say that Ja dealer ship, but you go
- 1:58:08Speaker 1: to a registration, it's difficult that come around him is
- 1:58:12Speaker 1: the sound. That's That's what I said, Kanye. He came
- 1:58:16Speaker 1: around Kanye samples people. And once again, I don't want
- 1:58:19Speaker 1: anybody think I just like having conversation about this is
- 1:58:22Speaker 1: just regular conversation. You don't want every single Kanye album.
- 1:58:26Speaker 1: I'm a fan of Yay. I have every single Kanye album.
- 1:58:29Speaker 1: I'm saying, like every album is different, sonically Kanye way
- 1:58:33Speaker 1: before a lot of this ship, like He's give me
- 1:58:35Speaker 1: beat CDs. So I'm a Kanye West fucking fanatic. We
- 1:58:39Speaker 1: sat up here last week and I told you, niggas
- 1:58:41Speaker 1: like Yay Cole krit Russ, I'm fanatics of this That's
- 1:58:46Speaker 1: what That's where I'm at with it. But that being said,
- 1:58:48Speaker 1: I this all went back to you saying, do I
- 1:58:50Speaker 1: think Jesus was that ship? One hundred percent front to back,
- 1:58:54Speaker 1: zero skips? That ship is a classic. No, I didn't
- 1:58:58Speaker 1: know Bound was on that album. I remember the video
- 1:59:01Speaker 1: for Bound came. I said, you did. You didn't make
- 1:59:03Speaker 1: it all the way to the end of the album. No,
- 1:59:05Speaker 1: I'm not even gonna lie. Come on, man, and I'm
- 1:59:07Speaker 1: a yeasy fan. I'm a blood on the leaves, blood
- 1:59:10Speaker 1: on the leaves, all that hold my liquor. This ship
- 1:59:15Speaker 1: Come on with Chief Keith Dog come about. That ship
- 1:59:18Speaker 1: is crazy. Covall, Bro, Black skin Head is crazy. You're tripping, bro.
- 1:59:26Speaker 1: That should not graduation, that should not live registration hereak.
- 1:59:30Speaker 1: It's definitely better than Life of Pablo. That shit. Ain't
- 1:59:33Speaker 1: none of them albums better than Life of Poplo whoa
- 1:59:36Speaker 1: Jesus no more? No? More parties, Jesus thirty hours. Come on, bro,
- 1:59:42Speaker 1: you wild right now? Man? I love it. I love
- 1:59:44Speaker 1: we Kanye for now. We go about this forever. If
- 1:59:46Speaker 1: you're gonna tell I love the life that camera and
- 1:59:49Speaker 1: tell the world that Yeesus is better than Life for Pop.
- 1:59:54Speaker 1: Jesus is definitively better than the life of Pop. Can
- 1:59:57Speaker 1: somebody raised their hand in his room? It's four people
- 1:59:58Speaker 1: in here? Can somebody what are we doing right now?
- 2:00:01Speaker 1: Life of Pablo Jesus. If you want to go with
- 2:00:04Speaker 1: Life for Pablo, put your hand up with me. If
- 2:00:06Speaker 1: you're gonna go with Jesus with him and be his friend,
- 2:00:08Speaker 1: I'll take it. I'll take it. Listen, Bro, God bless uh,
- 2:00:14Speaker 1: God bless the Life of Pablo. Great album. But Jesus
- 2:00:16Speaker 1: was Jesus is like it's aged, don't say it. I
- 2:00:22Speaker 1: loved it when it first came out. You about that
- 2:00:24Speaker 1: ship the same day? Was that ship came out the
- 2:00:26Speaker 1: same day as Born Center from J Cole and Mac Miller,
- 2:00:29Speaker 1: I brought. I bought three albums that day. Watching movies
- 2:00:32Speaker 1: with the soundofser was better than Jesus. You're fucking crazy,
- 2:00:35Speaker 1: You're fucking crazy. Jesus is a fucking classic. Born Center
- 2:00:39Speaker 1: was a good album. Jesus might be one of Kanye's
- 2:00:42Speaker 1: worst albums. With Jesus is King, You're something fucking crazy,
- 2:00:45Speaker 1: Jesus King, it's not better than graduation. Graduation might be.
- 2:00:50Speaker 1: Actually think it's you're crazy. Graduation breaks Graduation to me,
- 2:00:55Speaker 1: is I put Jesus above graduating. No, no, no, no, no,
- 2:00:57Speaker 1: you're right. That's that's that's kind of like to I'm
- 2:01:00Speaker 1: gonna tell you, I think graduation was like one of
- 2:01:02Speaker 1: the best. That was the evolution. That's like I take
- 2:01:06Speaker 1: cares like Drake's evolution, like my junior and senior will
- 2:01:09Speaker 1: only get me in it, like that speaking shit into existence.
- 2:01:12Speaker 1: I feel like like can't tell me nothing, and good
- 2:01:15Speaker 1: life and I wonder and all of that shit like
- 2:01:18Speaker 1: Barry Bonds and everything I'm not made me everything I am.
- 2:01:23Speaker 1: All of that shit was a moment of like I
- 2:01:26Speaker 1: beat fifty, I sold more than him, the Teddy Beer beat,
- 2:01:29Speaker 1: the Bully. That shit was like a moment in time.
- 2:01:32Speaker 1: Bro can't tell me nothing was like we all was
- 2:01:35Speaker 1: wearing scarf, like the big fucking Palestinian scoffs around our neck, skinny.
- 2:01:41Speaker 1: We always doing that. That was Jesus is better than graduation.
- 2:01:45Speaker 1: I just named about eight songs that was incredible. He
- 2:01:47Speaker 1: just had ten records. Go, but what are we talking
- 2:01:50Speaker 1: about here? I just named eight bengas off of graduation.
- 2:01:52Speaker 1: I didn't even get to the end. Drunken Hot Girls
- 2:01:55Speaker 1: is on fucking graduation. That song was, Yo, can't tell
- 2:01:58Speaker 1: me nothing. Barry Bonds with Lulu Wayne is on there. Yo,
- 2:02:01Speaker 1: Barry Bonds with Lil Wayne has not aged. Well, go
- 2:02:04Speaker 1: listen to that song today and tell me that song
- 2:02:06Speaker 1: is aged. Well. We outa here, baby. Big Brother was great.
- 2:02:09Speaker 1: Big Brother was on there too. Everything I'm not mam
- 2:02:10Speaker 1: me everything. That album's not better than late Registration. I'm
- 2:02:13Speaker 1: still naming songs. You stopped at one. What are we talking?
- 2:02:16Speaker 1: Blood on the leaves, black skin, heead, don't drop my
- 2:02:18Speaker 1: look or keep going? That's three, keep going, Welcome to
- 2:02:21Speaker 1: the good life. Can't tell me nothing. I wonder bro
- 2:02:24Speaker 1: with Flashing Lights on there because we could stop talking
- 2:02:27Speaker 1: right now. Flashing Lights was on late registration. Late registration
- 2:02:30Speaker 1: to me, No, no, no, you're cheating. What do you
- 2:02:32Speaker 1: mean you're cheating right now? Flashing Lights was on graduation.
- 2:02:36Speaker 1: That was the I wonder was it I wonder if
- 2:02:39Speaker 1: and then flashing like yes you lost. Oh yeah, you're right.
- 2:02:42Speaker 1: It was a better album than Yasus. It's not better
- 2:02:44Speaker 1: than Late Registration. It's better than Yusus lost. I mean
- 2:02:47Speaker 1: That's registration is incredible too. You don't argue with that,
- 2:02:51Speaker 1: my beautiful twist, Like all of these albums are better
- 2:02:55Speaker 1: than the ten song ye'ss album, all of them. It's
- 2:02:58Speaker 1: only about five or six like incredible records on Yeesus.
- 2:03:01Speaker 1: Every other album, the first six records on his Shit
- 2:03:03Speaker 1: is incredible. Jesus is like Caviard bro. It's not for everybody.
- 2:03:09Speaker 1: That's what Yesus is like four four four when you
- 2:03:13Speaker 1: say it's better, you might say that is a great album.
- 2:03:17Speaker 1: I think four four four is jay Z's worst album.
- 2:03:19Speaker 1: That's just me. I can name ten other albums that
- 2:03:22Speaker 1: are better. I think Magnet Carter Holy Girls' worst album.
- 2:03:25Speaker 1: I thought that album was a steaming pilot dog shit
- 2:03:29Speaker 1: what happened? That might be what you want to say.
- 2:03:31Speaker 1: You know what album is most left on album that
- 2:03:33Speaker 1: gets all the hate? Blueprint three, that was the double album,
- 2:03:36Speaker 1: that was a double album, but that ship. I like
- 2:03:38Speaker 1: that her Blueprint two, Blueprint too, That's what I'm got
- 2:03:41Speaker 1: to say Blueprint three was terrible too. It's Blueprint three.
- 2:03:45Speaker 1: Blueprint three had j Cole on it. They had an
- 2:03:48Speaker 1: Empire state of Mind on it. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 2:03:51Speaker 1: you had the song with phar Real some bullshit, had
- 2:03:54Speaker 1: a with Drake on there too. Yeah yeah, I mean
- 2:03:56Speaker 1: Empire state of Mind is biggest record. But yeah, I
- 2:04:00Speaker 1: didn't like Blueprint three. I didn't like Magna Carta Holy Girl.
- 2:04:02Speaker 1: I loved four forty four. Blueprint two had some of
- 2:04:04Speaker 1: the best Jay on it ever, but it also had
- 2:04:06Speaker 1: some of the Remember how you said Wayne had a
- 2:04:08Speaker 1: tough decade? Yeah, what albums did jay Z put out
- 2:04:11Speaker 1: last decade? When did American Gangster come out? That was
- 2:04:18Speaker 1: a great album. But I just want to go back
- 2:04:20Speaker 1: because I remember you said Wayne had a rough decade. Okay,
- 2:04:22Speaker 1: I'll give you that if we're talking about the last decade.
- 2:04:25Speaker 1: Four forty four great album, nominated for a Grammy, Watched
- 2:04:31Speaker 1: the Throne, great album. You said that album was a
- 2:04:36Speaker 1: rack of dog shits. Magna cart Holy Girl was not
- 2:04:38Speaker 1: a champ. I like that album, not for me, Sir
- 2:04:42Speaker 1: tom Ford, All that shit? Right? What else? What else
- 2:04:46Speaker 1: came out from Home this decade? I was not a
- 2:04:48Speaker 1: fan of the Beyonce album. But then again, there's people
- 2:04:51Speaker 1: who think that that shit was incredible, and I'm like,
- 2:04:53Speaker 1: I don't hear. I mean, I mean, I liked the
- 2:04:55Speaker 1: few songs on there. I like the few songs on
- 2:04:56Speaker 1: the Oh yeah, come on, come on the JA Electronic
- 2:05:01Speaker 1: It became out in January, that shit, bro Hope washed
- 2:05:03Speaker 1: j Electronica for a whole album. I mean, I don't,
- 2:05:07Speaker 1: I don't don't. I I liked some of the joints
- 2:05:10Speaker 1: on there. You don't like four forty four. I didn't
- 2:05:13Speaker 1: say I don't like it. You just say it's worse
- 2:05:16Speaker 1: to me. I can't put four four four above And
- 2:05:19Speaker 1: this is just me having a regular convo because I'm
- 2:05:20Speaker 1: a rapper, so I probably shouldn't be talking about other
- 2:05:22Speaker 1: rap shit like this, but I'm a fan, so it's
- 2:05:24Speaker 1: like reasonable doubt. Yes, in my lifetime Value one, in
- 2:05:32Speaker 1: my lifetime Volume two Streets is watching Volume three, So
- 2:05:37Speaker 1: you don't put four forty four above Volume one? Uh?
- 2:05:41Speaker 1: You said, do I put four four four above Value one? Yeah?
- 2:05:45Speaker 1: Volume one is Imaginary Playmates. Lucky Great Stuff on the
- 2:05:48Speaker 1: Street is watching. The City is Mine? A million and
- 2:05:51Speaker 1: one questions. You must love me? No, I don't you
- 2:05:54Speaker 1: want me to go to volume two? No? Volume two.
- 2:05:56Speaker 1: I mean listen, I love Volume three. Neither on the
- 2:06:00Speaker 1: way there's been a murder dope, remove your roof, nigga,
- 2:06:06Speaker 1: Let the sun shine in. No, it's not better than
- 2:06:08Speaker 1: that one either. You want to go to the next one.
- 2:06:10Speaker 1: It's not better than that Black album either. It's not
- 2:06:12Speaker 1: Colic service announcement. And I think black album is lu
- 2:06:17Speaker 1: that kan I think black album is. I think there's
- 2:06:21Speaker 1: only there's three right answer. Let's keep going through these albums.
- 2:06:24Speaker 1: What's your favorite jay album? Oh, Blueprint? What's got about Blueprint? Blunt?
- 2:06:28Speaker 1: What's your favorite jay Z album? Blueprint? That's fair? That
- 2:06:31Speaker 1: was I think because I'm born on September eleventh, So
- 2:06:35Speaker 1: I remember when he put the album out him in
- 2:06:38Speaker 1: fab I think fabulous album. That showed me a lot too. Yeah,
- 2:06:44Speaker 1: I remember just putting Blueprint on and the city, New
- 2:06:46Speaker 1: York was in like a real funny It wasn't like
- 2:06:49Speaker 1: a real funny area. And uh, I remember the rulers
- 2:06:54Speaker 1: back fucking uh uh song cry never change all I
- 2:07:04Speaker 1: need you know what I'm saying the shit with Eminem Jesus.
- 2:07:07Speaker 1: I remember jay Z's had a better decade than Wayne,
- 2:07:10Speaker 1: quality of music wise, would you would you well, actually yeah,
- 2:07:14Speaker 1: oh wait yeah so wait is one? Yeah, so I
- 2:07:16Speaker 1: would say, you know, the last ten years, if we
- 2:07:18Speaker 1: had to stack up music, it would be close. Yeah,
- 2:07:21Speaker 1: every every Like I said, everybody got their drop points.
- 2:07:23Speaker 1: You know how you said you ain't like the Beyonce shit,
- 2:07:25Speaker 1: and you ain't like the Magna Carta Holy Grail, and
- 2:07:27Speaker 1: you ain't like a lot of people like Manna card
- 2:07:28Speaker 1: Holy Grail. I was not one of them. A lot
- 2:07:30Speaker 1: of people like Jesus, I was not one of them.
- 2:07:33Speaker 1: That's fair. Most people don't like you, I think. And
- 2:07:37Speaker 1: then bring this whole thing for us, this whole conversation,
- 2:07:39Speaker 1: because I don't want nobody to get this misconstrued like
- 2:07:41Speaker 1: I'm shitting on people. I'm a fan of all of
- 2:07:43Speaker 1: these people that we talk about. That's why I can
- 2:07:46Speaker 1: go this in depth in the conversation with you about
- 2:07:48Speaker 1: it and not sound like I'm kicking dirt on them
- 2:07:51Speaker 1: and not be able to praise them in the same token.
- 2:07:53Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying, a lot of a lot
- 2:07:57Speaker 1: of artists that we've been talking about today, they went
- 2:08:01Speaker 1: through errors of shit changing. You know what I'm saying.
- 2:08:04Speaker 1: I think a lot of times we overlooked that too,
- 2:08:06Speaker 1: prime example, push your teeth. How we was talking about
- 2:08:10Speaker 1: like Lord Willing, and then then when his brother went
- 2:08:15Speaker 1: to do his things, so now they not the clips
- 2:08:17Speaker 1: no more? You know what I'm saying, Yeah, that was
- 2:08:21Speaker 1: hard too. And then it's like then we've seen him
- 2:08:23Speaker 1: on the VMA's with Yay, like oh shit, this ship
- 2:08:26Speaker 1: might be oh yay, got a spitable where is this
- 2:08:28Speaker 1: gonna go? Then we'll be seen where that could go.
- 2:08:30Speaker 1: He had to reinvent himself from Lord Willing, from my
- 2:08:34Speaker 1: I don't love her. You know, is yet to reinvent himself.
- 2:08:38Speaker 1: He's still rapping about selling cocaine. No. But I mean
- 2:08:41Speaker 1: when I say reinvent himself. When I say reinvent himself,
- 2:08:43Speaker 1: I mean to a new eraror here to a new demographic.
- 2:08:47Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying. Because I was young listening
- 2:08:50Speaker 1: to the clips, so for me to be grown, and
- 2:08:54Speaker 1: the nigga from the clips still look like the nigga
- 2:08:57Speaker 1: from the clips in ninety eight don't even really look
- 2:08:59Speaker 1: like he aged. But they fucked with him right now,
- 2:09:01Speaker 1: they listening to him. You know what I'm saying, It's
- 2:09:03Speaker 1: the same thing with Lil Wayne. He was Lil Wayne.
- 2:09:06Speaker 1: He was on songs with Sammy and litl Zane Strike one.
- 2:09:11Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying, He bowow and shit like that. Right,
- 2:09:15Speaker 1: He went through eras like Lil Wayne went through the
- 2:09:18Speaker 1: Kitty era, the you know, then the teenage era, the
- 2:09:24Speaker 1: getting a little older era. Then it's like, oh nah,
- 2:09:27Speaker 1: he's like one of the top artists. So now he
- 2:09:30Speaker 1: has the top artists, Like if you look at all
- 2:09:32Speaker 1: of them fucking evers. He went through like we were
- 2:09:34Speaker 1: talking about Snoop. Snoop got erors of shit, Jay got
- 2:09:39Speaker 1: errors of ship Yay Yay, got errors of shit. You
- 2:09:42Speaker 1: know what I'm saying, Like from album to album, like
- 2:09:44Speaker 1: you were saying, shit changed. Whether it was somebody coming
- 2:09:47Speaker 1: in with a sound and he liked it and he
- 2:09:49Speaker 1: latched onto it or whatever it was, it worked. He
- 2:09:52Speaker 1: did it. A lot of people might have tried to
- 2:09:53Speaker 1: do that shit and it didn't work because a lot
- 2:09:55Speaker 1: of people that tried to do the sounds that other
- 2:09:58Speaker 1: people did or was popping at that time, they couldn't
- 2:10:01Speaker 1: make it work for them. You know what I'm saying, so,
- 2:10:03Speaker 1: same thing with Rick Ross. I remember seeing Ross in
- 2:10:07Speaker 1: a fucking Trina video for the all about the Benjamin's
- 2:10:09Speaker 1: movie with No Beard right, told y'all how to get down.
- 2:10:16Speaker 1: He was out then, but he went through errors. When
- 2:10:20Speaker 1: I'm when every Day I'm Hustling came out, it's a
- 2:10:23Speaker 1: total different Everdent now, definitely, it's a totally different erident now,
- 2:10:27Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. And he still got he
- 2:10:30Speaker 1: still got us wanting to hear that fly shit. He
- 2:10:32Speaker 1: still got a nigga like me waiting like yo, when
- 2:10:34Speaker 1: Ros's gonna do an album with Justice League, Oh yeah,
- 2:10:36Speaker 1: that'd be great. I need fifteen Rick Ross tracks over
- 2:10:41Speaker 1: Justice League type production. You know what I'm saying. So
- 2:10:44Speaker 1: your album is out wood panel walls out right now. Man.
- 2:10:49Speaker 1: I rode it, recorded it, mixed it, shot all the videos,
- 2:10:54Speaker 1: edit all of the videos, shot the documentary, edited. You
- 2:10:59Speaker 1: handled the whole sit handled the whole ship. Man. I
- 2:11:01Speaker 1: just had my homeboy master it because I was like,
- 2:11:03Speaker 1: sometimes it just sounded a little a little here and there,
- 2:11:06Speaker 1: But That's what I'm trying to get into. I'm trying
- 2:11:07Speaker 1: to get more into the the visual aspect of it.
- 2:11:11Speaker 1: I know I'm nice. You know I'm not and that's
- 2:11:13Speaker 1: not even to be on no cocky shit. But I
- 2:11:15Speaker 1: know I'm nice. I know I'm dead fucking nice. But
- 2:11:19Speaker 1: that's not enough for me right now. At one time,
- 2:11:22Speaker 1: maybe it wasn't enough, you know what I'm saying, But
- 2:11:24Speaker 1: right now, I want to be known for more than
- 2:11:26Speaker 1: just being nice, you know what I'm saying. Like that's
- 2:11:28Speaker 1: why I'm getting into the videos and directing and shit
- 2:11:31Speaker 1: like that, not saying like I just want to come
- 2:11:32Speaker 1: some video direct or doing documentaries and shit, and I
- 2:11:35Speaker 1: don't rap no more because rap is my first this
- 2:11:37Speaker 1: is my love. Like I feel like we're in an
- 2:11:39Speaker 1: error now where you don't got to retire as a rapper.
- 2:11:42Speaker 1: You just put out music whenever you feel like, you know.
- 2:11:47Speaker 1: So that's what I kind of did with this one.
- 2:11:49Speaker 1: It's available, whoopaying the walls. I got Vito on there,
- 2:11:55Speaker 1: I got cars on there, got my brother rel on there,
- 2:12:00Speaker 1: Anthony King the dude singing on the High Roads joint.
- 2:12:02Speaker 1: I got him on another joint on the project too,
- 2:12:04Speaker 1: cause from dream though. Yeah, yeah, trying to trying to
- 2:12:08Speaker 1: just do what I do, you know what I'm saying,
- 2:12:11Speaker 1: because it's real. We in the error where it's real
- 2:12:13Speaker 1: easy to go in the booth and just throw a
- 2:12:15Speaker 1: bunch of plugins on your ship. Try to get that
- 2:12:18Speaker 1: right melody, but not really say nothing, but just get
- 2:12:21Speaker 1: the right melody and do that for two verses. You
- 2:12:23Speaker 1: don't even need three verses no more, you know what
- 2:12:26Speaker 1: I'm saying. So my shit is more, just go talk
- 2:12:28Speaker 1: your ship, you know what I'm saying. So all you
- 2:12:30Speaker 1: gotta do is talk your shit. You ain't really gotta
- 2:12:33Speaker 1: just like you told me last week, you know, since
- 2:12:35Speaker 1: we ain't making too much club shit because we ain't
- 2:12:37Speaker 1: in the clubs. Male, I'm gonna play the music at well.
- 2:12:40Speaker 1: I'm so at this point, man, niggas is just spitting. Man.
- 2:12:45Speaker 1: I'm I'm glad that the industry is where it's kind
- 2:12:48Speaker 1: of at right now, because it's kind of like open
- 2:12:50Speaker 1: field right now. You don't know who gonna beat them next, niggas.
- 2:12:53Speaker 1: You don't know who gonna be the person that reinvent
- 2:12:55Speaker 1: theyself and do some two chain shit. You know what
- 2:12:58Speaker 1: I'm saying, Just pop up like damn. He been around
- 2:13:01Speaker 1: for years. We're just starting to Damn, we're late. It's
- 2:13:06Speaker 1: gonna be a lot of artists like that, because right
- 2:13:08Speaker 1: now it's just downtime. Man, Like how we were talking before.
- 2:13:12Speaker 1: I feel bad for a lot of artists that was
- 2:13:14Speaker 1: at the high points and now this shit fucked them up,
- 2:13:17Speaker 1: like we were talking about Roddy and Roddy rich Russ.
- 2:13:20Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying, the whole Griselda shit. You
- 2:13:22Speaker 1: know what I'm saying. Get well to Benny too, you
- 2:13:24Speaker 1: know shit. Yeah, man, it's like niggas, we want to
- 2:13:28Speaker 1: get back on the road. We want to get back
- 2:13:30Speaker 1: out there. But if you a person that make that
- 2:13:33Speaker 1: type of music right now, this ship might be a
- 2:13:36Speaker 1: little it's a little sketchy because it ain't really no
- 2:13:38Speaker 1: way for us to feel that vibe. But if you
- 2:13:41Speaker 1: a nigga like me and you just talking some shit,
- 2:13:42Speaker 1: you painting pictures with these words, or you really gotta
- 2:13:45Speaker 1: do it, sit dowre and roll up a blunt poor
- 2:13:47Speaker 1: soning or just sit there. People are listening about yep,
- 2:13:50Speaker 1: they got their headphones in right now, you're in their cars.
- 2:13:53Speaker 1: That's what I'm doing, Boom, I'm listening to you know,
- 2:13:56Speaker 1: I'm listening to everything too right now. A lot of
- 2:13:58Speaker 1: new shit too. There's so much you shout out. You
- 2:14:00Speaker 1: kind of got time to kind of got time to
- 2:14:02Speaker 1: fish right. You know what I'm saying talking about Discovery Ship.
- 2:14:05Speaker 1: We appreciate you pulling out, man, appreciate me come here
- 2:14:08Speaker 1: and talk all of this ship about a bunch of
- 2:14:10Speaker 1: rappers that's gonna think I don't like them, but I
- 2:14:13Speaker 1: just appreciate Uh. Once again, I appreciate you letting me
- 2:14:15Speaker 1: come through, chop it up with you all good man,
