- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with iHeartRadio.
- 0:06Speaker 2: For twenty two years, the Bachelor franchise has thrived and survived.
- 0:15Speaker 2: Eight years ago, a new kid was born, the Almost
- 0:20Speaker 2: Famous Podcast where we sat down and talked about the
- 0:27Speaker 2: beautiful and the intelligent and the dramatic aspects of this
- 0:33Speaker 2: incredible franchise. And today we have a new announcement. We
- 0:39Speaker 2: have a spinoff with one of Bachelor Nation's absolute favorites hosting.
- 0:46Speaker 2: It's called Beyond the Bachelor and it's with Susie Evans. Susie,
- 0:50Speaker 2: Welcome to the Almost Famous podcast family. It's growing, it's welcoming,
- 0:56Speaker 2: and we're happy to have you, and it's dramatic.
- 0:59Speaker 3: If you can, I wouldn't quite tell.
- 1:02Speaker 4: Also, I feel like that made it feel like you
- 1:05Speaker 4: were introducing me as like a little baby, Like I'm
- 1:07Speaker 4: like you are. I'm like the baby of the Almost
- 1:11Speaker 4: Famous podcasts.
- 1:12Speaker 3: They definitely are like one age wise the youngest, and
- 1:17Speaker 3: two been part of the franchise the least because we
- 1:21Speaker 3: have like Trista and Bob. You now, like Trista has
- 1:23Speaker 3: been around for twenty years.
- 1:26Speaker 2: Bob's been around for what nineteen?
- 1:27Speaker 3: Then? Yeah, I guess you're right way he was on
- 1:30Speaker 3: her season, so maybe they're tied there.
- 1:34Speaker 4: The long time.
- 1:34Speaker 2: Susie. You you are new to so many people, but
- 1:39Speaker 2: you're familiar to so many people as well. You are
- 1:41Speaker 2: a favorite, You've been around now. I feel like at
- 1:45Speaker 2: this point you understand the ins and outs of the
- 1:48Speaker 2: show and kind of the aspects of all the characters
- 1:53Speaker 2: that come from the show. So you're perfect for this
- 1:57Speaker 2: because you're not only likable, but you're a great question asker,
- 2:03Speaker 2: which I found out in person a few times. Tell
- 2:06Speaker 2: us about beyond the Bachelor, Like why can listeners get
- 2:10Speaker 2: excited about this new venture?
- 2:12Speaker 4: That's a great question. I feel like if you watch
- 2:16Speaker 4: the show, there's all these people that are either associated
- 2:22Speaker 4: but they didn't sign up to be on the show,
- 2:24Speaker 4: and sometimes they might actually be like the main character,
- 2:27Speaker 4: but their show and like their stories being told elsewhere
- 2:32Speaker 4: and it's just not being aired on live television like
- 2:34Speaker 4: The Bachelor. So to me, I think it's cool because
- 2:37Speaker 4: we're gonna seek out those people that kind of stole
- 2:39Speaker 4: the show, like the people that maybe should have been
- 2:42Speaker 4: on the show, or that people wish would be on
- 2:44Speaker 4: the show, and we're gonna get to interview them and
- 2:47Speaker 4: chat with them and discuss all the things that drew
- 2:52Speaker 4: us to them in the first place.
- 2:54Speaker 3: So you're gonna have Kelsey's dad on?
- 2:56Speaker 4: I was literally just thinking, I mean, there's no confirmation
- 3:00Speaker 4: I know of that we're going to have him on,
- 3:01Speaker 4: But that is like the ideal person of somebody that
- 3:03Speaker 4: kind of steals the show where you're like, oh my gosh,
- 3:05Speaker 4: who is this person? I want them to be on
- 3:07Speaker 4: the show, or even if you don't want them to
- 3:09Speaker 4: be on the show, just somebody that's interesting and is
- 3:13Speaker 4: just like has that star potential.
- 3:15Speaker 3: We've never had Peter's mom, Barb on the show, and like,
- 3:21Speaker 3: how crazy is in that we have a Barb? But
- 3:22Speaker 3: she is such a Bachelor figure.
- 3:25Speaker 4: Right, She's iconic, Like she's the dream guest to have
- 3:30Speaker 4: on this Bachelor. So hopefully we'll be able to get
- 3:34Speaker 4: yeses from all these people and I'll get to chat
- 3:36Speaker 4: with them and ask all the hard hitting questions.
- 3:39Speaker 2: Well, I mean, one of the exciting things is I
- 3:40Speaker 2: can think back on like some maturity siblings. You know,
- 3:43Speaker 2: people were freaking out about them. You have Kelsey's dad,
- 3:46Speaker 2: you have Barb, you have Sean Lowe's dad, who made
- 3:49Speaker 2: a big appearance. You obviously have these people who have
- 3:53Speaker 2: been on television who people have been intrigued by, but
- 3:56Speaker 2: we typically only get to see them for let's say
- 3:59Speaker 2: I'm most twenty men on a Monday night. And what
- 4:02Speaker 2: you're saying, Susie is you're gonna take these incredible people
- 4:06Speaker 2: who do have stories themselves, who have in their twenty
- 4:09Speaker 2: minutes of fame, absolutely drawn the audience in, and you're
- 4:15Speaker 2: gonna sit down with them here at Beyond the Bachelor
- 4:18Speaker 2: and get to know them better and hear their story
- 4:21Speaker 2: and actually get to understand what it is about them
- 4:23Speaker 2: that makes them different Exactly.
- 4:26Speaker 4: You summed it up perfectly.
- 4:28Speaker 3: So you're basically interviewing people who are Bachelor adjacent. So
- 4:32Speaker 3: they haven't been on the they haven't been on the
- 4:34Speaker 3: show as a contestant, but they are very they have
- 4:37Speaker 3: very close ties to somebody who has.
- 4:40Speaker 4: Exactly Yeah, and I don't even think they have to
- 4:42Speaker 4: be on the show, Like I feel like there's people
- 4:45Speaker 4: that have I feel like even Matt James before being
- 4:49Speaker 4: the Bachelor.
- 4:50Speaker 3: I was gonna say Matt James before he was a Bachelor.
- 4:53Speaker 4: Yes, like people like that who just kind of swoop
- 4:55Speaker 4: in in.
- 4:57Speaker 2: The spotlight, like Whitney Fransway's sister is obviously a huge
- 5:02Speaker 2: TikToker massively for really big big name, like really famous
- 5:09Speaker 2: on TikTok. I think her name's Jacqueline. And then you
- 5:13Speaker 2: have people like Amanda Stanton's sister, and you have obviously parents.
- 5:18Speaker 2: And Ashley hasn't stopped thinking about Kelsey's dad since the
- 5:21Speaker 2: moment is on our television, which is wild, and we
- 5:24Speaker 2: gotta get him before he becomes the next Golden Bachelor.
- 5:27Speaker 4: I know everyone's talking, everyone is talking about it. I
- 5:30Speaker 4: was interviewed today and somebody was like, who do you
- 5:32Speaker 4: want for the next Golden Bachelor. I'm like, I don't
- 5:34Speaker 4: want to say too much. I don't want to put
- 5:36Speaker 4: too much pressure on him. And without me even saying it,
- 5:39Speaker 4: she then prompted me, like, what about Kelsey's dad? I
- 5:42Speaker 4: was like, yeah, okay, I figured that's who you were
- 5:45Speaker 4: crying to see if I knew anything, But we'll see.
- 5:48Speaker 3: I have a ton of suggestions now that we are
- 5:50Speaker 3: starting this brainstorm. Joey's uncle who was kind of polarizing,
- 5:57Speaker 3: and we didn't see him again this time around, but
- 5:59Speaker 3: we saw on Charity season because he was the one
- 6:02Speaker 3: who was like, joe you're not being yourself and then
- 6:05Speaker 3: I would love to see you interview Joey's dad who's gay,
- 6:10Speaker 3: and they didn't talk about that on this finale, but
- 6:14Speaker 3: they did briefly mention on charity season, so true.
- 6:18Speaker 4: Yeah, those are all things that it's like unanswered questions.
- 6:21Speaker 2: Susie. Obviously, this I think is going to be a
- 6:24Speaker 2: massive hit. I think it's gonna be really interesting, and
- 6:26Speaker 2: I think what is actually going to happen is this
- 6:28Speaker 2: is going to go be like I think, if we
- 6:30Speaker 2: lean too much as an almost famous family into the
- 6:34Speaker 2: Bachelor aspect, the show won't do as well as we do.
- 6:38Speaker 2: If we lean into the stories that will be far
- 6:40Speaker 2: bigger than the Bachelor. It's going to be one of
- 6:42Speaker 2: those tell us, you know what you've learned along the
- 6:46Speaker 2: way experiences. But I get I've gotten to know you,
- 6:51Speaker 2: and I really like you. I like my time with you.
- 6:53Speaker 2: I get excited when I see your name on any
- 6:55Speaker 2: type of event we're doing. You know, I get excited
- 6:59Speaker 2: when I get to see you and your wonderful boyfriend
- 7:02Speaker 2: in the mornings before you get in an uber ride.
- 7:05Speaker 2: There's so many things about you Susie that I just
- 7:07Speaker 2: think are terrific. But what makes you well equipped to
- 7:13Speaker 2: be the host of this new show?
- 7:16Speaker 4: I don't know that I am. I'm gonna be honest,
- 7:20Speaker 4: but I'm gonna give it my best shot. And the
- 7:23Speaker 4: one thing I will say that I can give myself
- 7:26Speaker 4: credit for is that I love people like I've always
- 7:31Speaker 4: loved hearing people's stories. I feel like so often we
- 7:34Speaker 4: forget even like our parents or our grandparents, they lived
- 7:38Speaker 4: whole lives before us. And I'm always been that person
- 7:40Speaker 4: that's wanted to, like ask my parents detailed questions about
- 7:46Speaker 4: their life because I'm always so curious, like what their
- 7:49Speaker 4: lives have taught them, or what experiences they had before
- 7:53Speaker 4: I was alive or before I was old enough to remember.
- 7:55Speaker 4: So I think just being a really curious person that genuinely,
- 7:59Speaker 4: I feel like I'm pretty non judgmental and just I'm
- 8:04Speaker 4: just curious. So I think that I, if anything, I'm
- 8:08Speaker 4: just qualified to be a non judgmental person to listen
- 8:12Speaker 4: to whatever somebody wants to say. And I feel like
- 8:14Speaker 4: everyone's so interesting, so I'm just going into it with
- 8:17Speaker 4: an open mind and lots of questions.
- 8:20Speaker 3: And you're a great visual storyteller and we already know
- 8:23Speaker 3: this through your wedding videography and just your Instagram reels.
- 8:28Speaker 4: Really, thank you, thank you so much of course.
- 8:32Speaker 2: Well, Susie, this is an exciting time for the Almost
- 8:36Speaker 2: Famous podcast. We are pumped and just so excited for
- 8:41Speaker 2: you to be a part of it, you personally, and
- 8:43Speaker 2: then to hear kind of the people and understand the
- 8:45Speaker 2: people that you bring on along the way. So with that,

- 9:08Speaker 2: names right away, but after listening to the show, I
- 9:12Speaker 2: believe you're gonna love them just a little bit more. Susie,
- 9:16Speaker 2: thanks for joining us.
- 9:18Speaker 3: Thanks guys, what's your sign off gonna be? Because ours
- 9:22Speaker 3: is I've been Ashley and I've been Ben So you're
- 9:28Speaker 3: gonna have to come up with some creative way to
- 9:29Speaker 3: wrap a show, so creative to say something weird, like
- 9:34Speaker 3: I've been yeah, okay.
- 9:36Speaker 2: Something so revolutionary like I've been that off every single guest.
- 9:41Speaker 3: It makes them feel weird before they leave.
- 9:44Speaker 4: Perfect. I'm open to suggestions, but you'll have to think
- 9:47Speaker 4: about that. What my sign off should be?
