  How good. Hey, thank you for having me back. So good to talk to you again.

  What was it like being part of Jess Skinner's coaching team in camp and leading up to the game?

  The team that Jess has put together to surround the girls, you had some of the
• 0:43
  best that work with her in the Gillaroo space also.

  So it was just really good to be around all these elite coaches and S&C,
• 0:54
  your physios and your doctors.

  Yeah, you just look inside the sport at a different perspective in this elite
• 1:02
  space. How were the nerves being involved in all of that?

  No, they were pretty good. I did my homework. I did my work leading into the
• 1:10
  camp, and I know a few of the girls also.

  So, you know, they're just normal human beings. They're people before the player.

  Breaking down the game, Marty got out to a 14-0 lead. There must have been tremendous
• 1:24
  confidence and belief in the team to mount that comeback.

  Yeah, so we knew leading in there that morning it was just raining hay and it
• 1:32
  didn't stop until we took the field.
• 1:34
  So the wind was just hectic down on the field.
• 1:37
  So we knew that we just had to stay in the grind and not let them put too much
• 1:41
  points on us in the first half because we knew the second half would be ours.

  What was the temperature?
• 1:46
  I think it was like 13, 14 degrees. It was cold.

  Yeah, okay. Yeah, the rain stopped. It was just the wind sweeping across,

  which was like it was beautiful. It was nice to be in like that kind of weather also.

  But just playing-wise, it was definitely their game. Two-point lead heading
• 2:04
  into the final stage of the game. Did you feel added pressure?

  Just my input and stuff, there was a bit of more pressure.

  Jess very much wants to hear from the whole team and especially her coaching
• 2:16
  staff in the box and on the sidelines.

  So it was just everything within caution of the game that was playing out in
• 2:24
  front of us. As a coach, where do you think the game was won?

  The game was won as soon as...
• 2:30
  As soon as the second half started, the back end of the first half,
• 2:34
  the last probably 10 minutes or so into our second half.

  So it got through that grind and then you started to come into your own game.

  Game, yeah, yeah, yeah. And it started to dry off a little bit more then.

  So our ball security under the ball, yeah, played to our advantage on our edges
• 2:51
  where we knew that we could win the game there.

  How good was the cultural experience

  of being involved in the All-Stars week? Holy man, that was epic.

  It was such a cool experience to be immersed in the Māori culture and just see
• 3:07
  what they do on a day-to-day basis.

  We went to the Marae where we had the traditional welcome. We met the Queen.

  That just got me goosebumps then. But yeah, just everything was culture first
• 3:20
  over there for them through this week.
• 3:23
  We trained at the boys, the Hamilton Boys School, where they just got their
• 3:28
  new facilities over there.
• 3:30
  So we got to train out of their resources and it was just amazing.

  What are the key learnings that you'll bring back to the NT as a coach?

  To know your players, to know your players, to make sure you're surrounded by
• 3:41
  good people that want the same things as you do for your team. and enjoy it all.

  It doesn't matter if you win or lose. It's just about the experience and learning as you go.

  Bringing it back home now, the Litchfield Bears were in pre-season.

  How are preparations coming along?
• 3:57
  Yeah, they're going good, actually. Yeah, there's good numbers down at the fields.

  I went to my second session last night just to poke my head in and have a look.

  So, yeah, it was really good.

  The energy was high and the atmosphere was great. So it's good to be back at
• 4:13
  Clubland, actually. and it's always nice to come back that you know.

  And I don't know if you've had a chance to see the draw since you've been back,

  but you've drawn brothers round one, so a big clash first week up.

  I think that's what happens every year with us.

  And look, you know, credit to brothers. They're just a good club,

  a good side and a good bunch of girls that we have to go against.

  So, yeah, credit to them and yay. Yay.
