- 0:00Speaker 1: So is this the new norm? Is my question? Is
- 0:03Speaker 1: the new norm that you come five minutes late to
- 0:07Speaker 1: all of our sessions?
- 0:08Speaker 2: It's three minutes, you fucker.
- 0:10Speaker 1: Let me tell you something. We have a very fancy
- 0:12Speaker 1: We got a very fancy guest, and the very fancy
- 0:14Speaker 1: guest is sitting sitting alone in his closet and you're
- 0:18Speaker 1: what are you doing making a drink?
- 0:20Speaker 3: No?
- 0:20Speaker 2: I was about to get my GT's kombucha. Actually I
- 0:23Speaker 2: was asking.
- 0:24Speaker 4: I was gonna ask for like five minutes so I
- 0:25Speaker 4: could get a GT's. Well, not five minutes, five seconds.
- 0:30Speaker 2: I got a big old ship.
- 0:32Speaker 4: I got a ship like, I got a real shipman,
- 0:34Speaker 4: not like not that you know what interested Yeah, not
- 0:37Speaker 4: that we're interested in advertising in your uh on.
- 0:42Speaker 2: Your podcast shipment. I got that, yo.
- 0:44Speaker 4: You know you got to talk about you got to
- 0:46Speaker 4: talk about us every time you talk to start this
- 0:48Speaker 4: podcast shipment. So I got that big ass kimbucha shipment.
- 0:52Speaker 4: And I've already gone through two of in Bad Boys.
- 0:56Speaker 1: You might, Yeah, Donald, we were on a call. Gts
- 0:58Speaker 1: K has become us answer of the show, and we
- 1:01Speaker 1: are on a call with them, and Donald and I
- 1:03Speaker 1: genuinely drink it. So it was a no brainer. And
- 1:06Speaker 1: Donald's like, let me ask you something. Since we have
- 1:08Speaker 1: the inventor of this on the phone, how many do
- 1:10Speaker 1: you recommend I can have a day? And the guy
- 1:15Speaker 1: the Guy's like, well, I think three is probably probably
- 1:18Speaker 1: the max you want to have a day. And Donald's like, okay, good, good, good,
- 1:25Speaker 1: So you might want to pace bro.
- 1:27Speaker 2: They're gonna be gone soon. Man, They're gonna be gone. Listen,
- 1:30Speaker 2: let met my wife, my kids. Oh it's a wrap.
- 1:33Speaker 1: We have a very First of all, this episode is
- 1:35Speaker 1: fucking hilarious, very funny episode. I laughed so many times.
- 1:39Speaker 1: And I was on a text with Donald and Bill
- 1:42Speaker 1: right before this and about something, and I was like,
- 1:44Speaker 1: this episode one twenty is one of the funniest of
- 1:46Speaker 1: season one.
- 1:47Speaker 2: Yeah, easy, easy, And we're a.
- 1:50Speaker 1: Very handsome guests. Are you nervous? I put on a
- 1:52Speaker 1: nice sweatshirt for him.
- 1:53Speaker 4: No, I'm not nervous. He and I have worked a
- 1:56Speaker 4: lot together. Actually we did Felicity together. We four Scrubs,
- 2:00Speaker 4: and then after Scrubs we did a little movie called
- 2:04Speaker 4: Let's Kill Ward's Wife together, and I played Ward uh
- 2:08Speaker 4: and he directed, and so uh, you know, I.
- 2:12Speaker 1: Get I get nervous every time I see Scott Fully
- 2:15Speaker 1: because really, yeah, I'm I'm a straight man for the
- 2:20Speaker 1: most part. But there are certain men that I get
- 2:22Speaker 1: a little shy in front of, and okay, Fully is
- 2:25Speaker 1: one of them. Really, I don't want to play hide
- 2:28Speaker 1: the peep with him, but I get a little I
- 2:31Speaker 1: get a little jittery.
- 2:32Speaker 2: Will you played? Would you play tip to tip?
- 2:34Speaker 1: I don't want to touch tips. I just listen. I
- 2:37Speaker 1: am secure enough in my in my sexuality to be
- 2:40Speaker 1: able to say that I get a little, I get
- 2:42Speaker 1: a little a flutter. Oh okay, I don't want to
- 2:45Speaker 1: go tip to tip with Scott Fully, but I I
- 2:47Speaker 1: do think he's uh, he's very dreamy to look at,
- 2:50Speaker 1: and I I also really like him as a human being.
- 2:53Speaker 1: He's a he's a very sweet man. Okay, should we
- 2:56Speaker 1: invite him in?
- 2:57Speaker 2: Yeah? Why not?
- 2:58Speaker 1: I mean, I'm excited. Dan bring him in, Dan allow
- 3:01Speaker 1: him in. We put him in a green room. Oh
- 3:05Speaker 1: my goodness, man, just talking about you? You were yeah,
- 3:11Speaker 1: Donald was saying that you guys have worked on several
- 3:13Speaker 1: projects together.
- 3:14Speaker 2: Not wait before we get into this, Let's make sure
- 3:17Speaker 2: he's recording.
- 3:18Speaker 1: Are you recording stuff? Fully?
- 3:20Speaker 5: I think I'm recording on here right the phone.
- 3:22Speaker 1: Yes, good, yes, good, good many a guest. I got
- 3:25Speaker 1: this sub scuff fully, but there's something that tells me
- 3:27Speaker 1: that you're going to do it right.
- 3:29Speaker 2: Oh, you look so handsome. Look at him looking up.
- 3:31Speaker 1: I'm gonna wait. I was gonna wait. I was gonna
- 3:34Speaker 1: wait a beat to tell him he was handsome. Donald,
- 3:35Speaker 1: you went right for it.
- 3:37Speaker 6: Can tell you this. I watched the episode not that
- 3:41Speaker 6: long ago.
- 3:41Speaker 5: I've watched it a couple of times since we talked
- 3:43Speaker 5: about me being on this, and this is the first
- 3:45Speaker 5: time my hair has been the same length as it
- 3:47Speaker 5: was during that episode.
- 3:49Speaker 6: And I have the pandemic to think.
- 3:51Speaker 1: Scott, you got an intro. I don't think another man
- 3:54Speaker 1: in nine years got the intro that we normally reserve
- 3:57Speaker 1: for the beautiful woman walking in with the slow motion
- 4:01Speaker 1: and the fan and they literally angels, going oh.
- 4:05Speaker 6: It was a bit much, and I was a little overwhelmed.
- 4:07Speaker 6: And I think you can tell that in my performance.
- 4:09Speaker 1: It was hilarious though. And eating Jello seductive.
- 4:16Speaker 6: I mean I remember them.
- 4:17Speaker 5: I remember them coming to me saying, like, what do
- 4:19Speaker 5: you want to eat? I was like, it's a hospital, right,
- 4:20Speaker 5: and they're like jello. It is way.
- 4:24Speaker 1: Sarah's character is so randy for you in this I
- 4:28Speaker 1: had forgotten, you know, we obviously, Scott, we go back.
- 4:30Speaker 1: We haven't seen these in twenty years, and so it's
- 4:32Speaker 1: fun for Doll and I because even though we're the
- 4:35Speaker 1: stars of the show, were watching it like a new being, like, oh,
- 4:37Speaker 1: that's a funny episode, and I had totally forgotten how
- 4:40Speaker 1: in this episode Sarah is like really horny, frankly and
- 4:45Speaker 1: riled up, like she's like she's.
- 4:47Speaker 4: She literally says if I don't sleep with him, I'm
- 4:49Speaker 4: gonna kill myself.
- 4:50Speaker 1: Right, And then yeah, she said she she'd suck on
- 4:53Speaker 1: his foot or something.
- 4:55Speaker 2: And then he's like, what I did?
- 4:58Speaker 5: They went They went to a lot of lengths with this,
- 5:00Speaker 5: between the sucking on the foot, talking about needing to
- 5:03Speaker 5: sleep with me, begging me to ask her out do it,
- 5:05Speaker 5: dropping stuff, and doing bizarre contortions, which by the way,
- 5:10Speaker 5: works for anybody out there.
- 5:12Speaker 1: It was really funny though, because it's not something you
- 5:14Speaker 1: often see on a show, like you always see like
- 5:16Speaker 1: the man being like neurotic and frantic. How do I
- 5:20Speaker 1: get her? And I'm so attracted to her, I'm so horny,
- 5:23Speaker 1: you know, And this I thought this was funny that Sarah.
- 5:25Speaker 1: First of all, Sarah was very funny doing it, but
- 5:27Speaker 1: she's so on a mission to get laid.
- 5:31Speaker 5: Yeah, I you know, it's funny. I had so many
- 5:34Speaker 5: thoughts watching this star. You're gonna see my lights going
- 5:36Speaker 5: on and nobody can see that because we're on a
- 5:38Speaker 5: past I'm in a closet where it's got one of
- 5:40Speaker 5: those automatic lights. You walk in and it turns on,
- 5:43Speaker 5: and if I'm sitting here and not moving, then it's
- 5:45Speaker 5: gonna go dark.
- 5:46Speaker 1: That's the kind of fancy house that Scott Foley has.
- 5:48Speaker 1: Everyone he has a light that turns on with his money.
- 5:51Speaker 4: Some people have the clapper, some people have light switches.
- 5:54Speaker 4: Scott Foley has movement.
- 5:57Speaker 1: One day, if you have the level of success of
- 5:59Speaker 1: legendary actor Scott Fully, you could get one of these
- 6:02Speaker 1: motion lights in your closet.
- 6:04Speaker 5: Uh huh.
- 6:04Speaker 6: I think all of your closets have that.
- 6:07Speaker 5: No. I was so impressed. First of all, what a
- 6:10Speaker 5: time capsule. These things are right, like not just the references,
- 6:14Speaker 5: but everything you see, Like the TV you guys are
- 6:16Speaker 5: watching in the beginning is an old vacuum tube television, right,
- 6:19Speaker 5: you know, which you just don't see anymore. Plus, you
- 6:21Speaker 5: guys are talking about watching Iron Chef, which somehow has
- 6:23Speaker 5: stood the test of time, because I think it's still on.
- 6:26Speaker 6: I think there's still making.
- 6:27Speaker 4: Yeah, you know, I think back then it was like
- 6:30Speaker 4: Iron Chef was an import and now it's domestic.
- 6:35Speaker 1: I don't know that there is there a domestic Iron Chef.
- 6:37Speaker 2: Yes, and all of that stuff and stuff.
- 6:40Speaker 5: Yeah, but it was also it was also so impressive
- 6:43Speaker 5: to me to see, you know, this is the we're
- 6:45Speaker 5: getting towards the end of the first season, if I'm
- 6:47Speaker 5: not mistaken, and you guys have your characters dialed in
- 6:52Speaker 5: at this point already. I've been on a bunch of
- 6:54Speaker 5: television shows where it's not until like end of season
- 6:56Speaker 5: three where people are like, oh.
- 6:58Speaker 6: Oh, I know who this guy is.
- 7:00Speaker 5: You guys are dialed in to a person like two
- 7:03Speaker 5: from Kelso to Cox to you guys to Sarah to like,
- 7:06Speaker 5: it's amazing and being able to jump into that, you know,
- 7:10Speaker 5: it was such an interesting character that I got to
- 7:12Speaker 5: play here.
- 7:12Speaker 6: But you're right, watching Sarah and that character.
- 7:16Speaker 5: Totally go for it was such an interesting thing because
- 7:19Speaker 5: you always see it from the other side, don't you.
- 7:21Speaker 1: Yeah, And she's really fucking funny. I mean, we say this,
- 7:24Speaker 1: this is our twentieth episode of this Scott fully, believe
- 7:27Speaker 1: it or not, it's become us a hit and we
- 7:28Speaker 1: can't believe it ourselves. But this is our twentieth one
- 7:31Speaker 1: and we've said it a bunch of times. But Sarah
- 7:34Speaker 1: Chalk is so fucking funny. I mean this episode in particular,
- 7:37Speaker 1: she is so fucking funny in this episode.
- 7:39Speaker 5: She's so talented, she's so beautiful, she is so good
- 7:42Speaker 5: at what she does, and she goes for.
- 7:44Speaker 2: It, man.
- 7:44Speaker 5: And that's what I appreciate it most about the show
- 7:46Speaker 5: is that you know there are things that you would
- 7:48Speaker 5: read on the page, you think like, oh, how am
- 7:50Speaker 5: I going to do that?
- 7:51Speaker 6: And everybody, to a person goes for it.
- 7:54Speaker 5: And I think that's what really made this show successful
- 7:56Speaker 5: and what makes it stand the test of time, even
- 7:58Speaker 5: though we're still looking at old TV sets.
- 8:00Speaker 2: It's so good.
- 8:02Speaker 1: Well, speaking of a lot to talk about, Donald, but
- 8:04Speaker 1: I think we should sing first, And.
- 8:07Speaker 4: Scott, I was about to say, speaking of successful, let's
- 8:10Speaker 4: get into that successful theme song about six seven eight,
- 8:14Speaker 4: Scott to do it.
- 8:15Speaker 1: No, I like it the song I would like Scott
- 8:19Speaker 1: fully to count seven. God has gotten.
- 8:23Speaker 5: Five, six, seven, eight stories.
- 8:26Speaker 2: I'm not sure.
- 8:26Speaker 3: We made about a bunch of talks and nurses and janitor.
- 8:33Speaker 7: He said, here's a stories next. So YadA round here,
- 8:41Speaker 7: yeah here show is.
- 8:45Speaker 1: No, that's the first time in podcast history we stopped
- 8:51Speaker 1: the opening theme song. And I'm sorry, Donald, I didn't
- 8:53Speaker 1: mean to question your no no.
- 8:55Speaker 5: No no no no no no no no, no no no.
- 8:57Speaker 1: It's just about a VIP guest, and I thought, like,
- 9:00Speaker 1: give him the honor.
- 9:01Speaker 5: He was really excited to go for it.
- 9:03Speaker 2: I'm not I'm not at all hurt in any way.
- 9:05Speaker 1: No, you know you're we are, we are, we are
- 9:07Speaker 1: partners in this, and I don't want you to ever
- 9:09Speaker 1: think I would ever question when it's time to sing
- 9:11Speaker 1: the song.
- 9:12Speaker 6: It was your harmony song.
- 9:14Speaker 5: Your harmony with that song is something that that my
- 9:17Speaker 5: wife and I have had conversations about.
- 9:19Speaker 2: We go for it, We go for it's really good.
- 9:21Speaker 8: No listen, Scott.
- 9:22Speaker 1: When we made the song, we were like okay, but
- 9:24Speaker 1: I was like, well, how do we how do we
- 9:26Speaker 1: do it? Now? How do we You know we made
- 9:28Speaker 1: the song, but how we are both going to sing
- 9:30Speaker 1: all the lyrics? And Donalds like, don't worry, I got this,
- 9:32Speaker 1: and he like came up with all those harmonies.
- 9:35Speaker 4: I was like, Zach was like, I'll just send you
- 9:37Speaker 4: a I'll send you my verse. I'll sing the whole
- 9:40Speaker 4: song and I'll send it to you and you just sing,
- 9:42Speaker 4: because originally we were going to do it where we
- 9:44Speaker 4: split up the the the worst, yeah, right, And he
- 9:48Speaker 4: was like, I'll sing the whole thing and you just
- 9:50Speaker 4: pick where you want to sing, and we'll have Charlie
- 9:53Speaker 4: cut us in. And I heard him sing and I
- 9:55Speaker 4: was like, I think he sounds amazing. The only way
- 9:59Speaker 4: that this is gonna work is if I just back
- 10:01Speaker 4: him up with some hard.
- 10:02Speaker 5: If I sing the whole thing too, it's exactly good.
- 10:07Speaker 8: Exactly this is good.
- 10:08Speaker 1: But you know what's gonna everyone's gonna make it better
- 10:10Speaker 1: if I do really need if I do really showy
- 10:13Speaker 1: harmonies over all of this, well.
- 10:18Speaker 6: It works and we are fans, so good job.
- 10:20Speaker 1: Right, of course, Donald, I think we should go back
- 10:23Speaker 1: to what I was going to say that let's obviously
- 10:26Speaker 1: Scott's career. I'll do a little We got to go
- 10:28Speaker 1: back a little bit. Scott. The first time I remember
- 10:30Speaker 1: hearing about you was on a very, very successful show,
- 10:33Speaker 1: solely successful because of Donald's phase on but I believe
- 10:37Speaker 1: you were on it too. It was called Felicity, that's correct.
- 10:40Speaker 5: Donald and I met for the first time on Felicity,
- 10:42Speaker 5: and I remember being.
- 10:43Speaker 1: Like, holy ship, the clueless guys here, that's what happens
- 10:48Speaker 1: every time he walks into a restaurant.
- 10:50Speaker 2: Of course, of course.
- 10:52Speaker 5: But I also I mean Donald was great on that,
- 10:54Speaker 5: and you were you. You had that, you were going
- 10:56Speaker 5: through this phase where you were trying to be rip
- 10:59Speaker 5: you were. I remember I think the first table read
- 11:01Speaker 5: you came in, you were carrying like a three gallon
- 11:03Speaker 5: Jerry can of water.
- 11:05Speaker 6: Yeah, it was crazy, the amount of water.
- 11:07Speaker 5: You would drink every day, and you were shredded. And
- 11:10Speaker 5: we'd play basketball in the parking lot out there. And
- 11:13Speaker 5: actually I remember, I think you've been on the show
- 11:16Speaker 5: off and on for a season or two, maybe three,
- 11:19Speaker 5: and before Scrubs came around, right, yeah, yeah, And I
- 11:25Speaker 5: remember talking to you. You had done the pilot and
- 11:27Speaker 5: you were telling me about it and you said, I
- 11:29Speaker 5: don't know, man, it's really funny.
- 11:30Speaker 6: It's from this young rider.
- 11:32Speaker 5: Uh. He did Spin City and we got a good
- 11:35Speaker 5: group and I saw the pilot and it's really funny.
- 11:37Speaker 5: I think it's gonna take off. And I was like, yeah,
- 11:40Speaker 5: good for you. Let's keep playing basketball.
- 11:42Speaker 4: Yeah, and later, Yeah, we had a lot of conversations
- 11:46Speaker 4: just about work back back then. Also, you know, I
- 11:50Speaker 4: don't know how new you were to the game, but
- 11:52Speaker 4: you had been working. You did you had done Felicity,
- 11:55Speaker 4: You had done Scream two or was.
- 11:57Speaker 6: It your scream Scream three? I'd done for Felicity.
- 12:00Speaker 5: I had done Dawson's Creek, which was sort of my
- 12:02Speaker 5: introduction to the back then was the WB the now
- 12:06Speaker 5: defunct WB World, which.
- 12:08Speaker 1: Was solicit your first big leading part.
- 12:11Speaker 5: Felicity was my first big leading part. Yeah, yeah, and
- 12:14Speaker 5: you know it was. It was really the uh the
- 12:17Speaker 5: springboard that and I'm so grateful for it that that
- 12:19Speaker 5: allowed me to be a part of your show and
- 12:21Speaker 5: sort of everything that's come since.
- 12:23Speaker 1: And and when you guys, are you guys still friendly?
- 12:27Speaker 1: The three of you, the three of you the love Triangle,
- 12:30Speaker 1: We're not not friendly. You don't like you know, I
- 12:33Speaker 1: me and Donald where you're not like having him over
- 12:35Speaker 1: and and and putting his putting his kids in a
- 12:37Speaker 1: in a bouncy castle.
- 12:39Speaker 6: No, I'm I'm We're not like that.
- 12:41Speaker 5: But but we got together last year for it was
- 12:43Speaker 5: the twentieth reunion of Felicity. Wow, which was amazing, and
- 12:48Speaker 5: we got so many people together. We went to the
- 12:51Speaker 5: at X, the Austin Television Festival, and I think they
- 12:54Speaker 5: screened an episode and we all sat on stage where
- 12:56Speaker 5: a bunch of people ask us questions. There was a
- 12:58Speaker 5: modern and it was really great. Was the first time
- 13:00Speaker 5: we'd all been together in you know, seventeen eighteen years.
- 13:05Speaker 6: Wow.
- 13:06Speaker 5: Yeah, it was really really fun, man. And I uh,
- 13:10Speaker 5: you know, I'd always said, I don't think you know,
- 13:12Speaker 5: they talk about doing reboots, and I'd always said, I
- 13:14Speaker 5: don't think you can do a reboot of Felicity because
- 13:16Speaker 5: it was so specific to not just that time in
- 13:20Speaker 5: a person's life when we were all so much younger,
- 13:23Speaker 5: but to that period of the world of our existence.
- 13:28Speaker 5: And I sort of changed my mind after being with
- 13:33Speaker 5: them because I just missed them all so much, and
- 13:36Speaker 5: I remembered the feelings that I had, both good and bad,
- 13:40Speaker 5: and I sort of yearned for them.
- 13:42Speaker 6: So, if you know, I.
- 13:44Speaker 1: Think we have an exclusive right here on the Fake
- 13:46Speaker 1: Doctor's real Scott Foley is willing to do a Felicity
- 13:50Speaker 1: reboot everybody.
- 13:51Speaker 5: That would be interesting again, it wouldn't be a no.
- 13:53Speaker 1: Could Donald be on it too? I would only support it.
- 13:55Speaker 2: My character lives. My character lives, so it's a possibility.
- 13:59Speaker 1: I could. I only support it if you get to
- 14:01Speaker 1: come back down.
- 14:02Speaker 4: It would be very interesting to see if everybody is
- 14:05Speaker 4: still friendly from the cast in the show, you know
- 14:09Speaker 4: what I mean, Like, you guys were in college together,
- 14:11Speaker 4: and you guys all lived together, kind disorder, and you guys.
- 14:14Speaker 2: All dated each other, but it was college.
- 14:17Speaker 4: And usually you know, I didn't go to college, but
- 14:20Speaker 4: I don't have a lot of friends from my you know,
- 14:23Speaker 4: early that I still hang out with from my early
- 14:26Speaker 4: twenties that I still hang out with. So it'd be
- 14:28Speaker 4: really interesting to see what happened after you guys all
- 14:30Speaker 4: left NYU.
- 14:32Speaker 1: I remember when there was a controversy when Carrie Russell
- 14:34Speaker 1: cut her hair, like people lost their minds, right, Yeah,
- 14:37Speaker 1: that's I remember being like, I I remember I didn't
- 14:40Speaker 1: watch the show, but I remember being like, are people
- 14:42Speaker 1: really up in arms that Garry Russell cut her hair?
- 14:46Speaker 5: People were up in arms and it was it's to
- 14:48Speaker 5: this day, I think the thing that people talk about
- 14:52Speaker 5: the most when they talk about the show, and the
- 14:53Speaker 5: interesting thing is that it was scripted, Like she cut
- 14:56Speaker 5: her hair on the show and somehow it it gained traction.
- 15:00Speaker 5: Is this urban legend that she did it on her
- 15:02Speaker 5: own because she was angry or wanted to change or
- 15:04Speaker 5: get away from the character.
- 15:06Speaker 6: We cut it.
- 15:06Speaker 5: You actually see it in season two of the show,
- 15:09Speaker 5: her cutting her hair, and I thought she looked more
- 15:12Speaker 5: beautiful with the short hair than she did with the long.
- 15:14Speaker 1: But you know, people just loved it. I'm just just
- 15:17Speaker 1: making up that people loved her hair so much that
- 15:20Speaker 1: they were like, how dare you?
- 15:21Speaker 2: It was a lot of hair, dude, it was a
- 15:23Speaker 2: lot of hair.
- 15:25Speaker 1: I'm assuming, as I recall, she had beautiful, curly, long hair,
- 15:27Speaker 1: and people were like, you know, dare you?
- 15:30Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean enviable hair.
- 15:32Speaker 4: Yeah, it looked like she had been growing it since birth.
- 15:35Speaker 4: That's how beautiful the hair was.
- 15:36Speaker 1: Garry Russell was on our show. She was a love
- 15:39Speaker 1: interest of mine.
- 15:40Speaker 5: Is that right?
- 15:41Speaker 1: On Scrubs? Yeah?
- 15:42Speaker 4: Yes, she did a couple of episodes, just like, well,
- 15:44Speaker 4: you did way more episode your character tracked.
- 15:47Speaker 1: For Yeah, well the end, don't worry, Scott, you did
- 15:49Speaker 1: way more. But uh, you know you did me a
- 15:52Speaker 1: favor and look up how many she did.
- 15:53Speaker 2: But she did too.
- 15:54Speaker 1: Yeah, oh, Donald, you know that that's cool.
- 15:58Speaker 6: So now she's talented and great.
- 15:59Speaker 1: And I kissed, I think, I mean on the show.
- 16:02Speaker 1: I think we kissed.
- 16:03Speaker 5: We might be lip guarantee. I would guarantee that you
- 16:06Speaker 5: remember whether you kissed or not.
- 16:08Speaker 1: No, I know, I I remember being very excited that
- 16:10Speaker 1: she was a love interest. But Jad didn't make out
- 16:12Speaker 1: with all his love interests. I Joelle will look it
- 16:15Speaker 1: up for me, did JD? But anyway, Scott, we might
- 16:17Speaker 1: be lip cousins.
- 16:19Speaker 5: We're definitely wiener cousins.
- 16:21Speaker 1: We're definitely wiener cousins. Donald and I were touching talking
- 16:24Speaker 1: about touching tips or just before you came on, but
- 16:28Speaker 1: not in real life Donald with Sarah.
- 16:30Speaker 6: In the character.
- 16:31Speaker 5: Yeah, oh oh oh, well, I think I hope that's
- 16:34Speaker 5: the only crossover.
- 16:35Speaker 1: I don't think we had any real life crossover, Scott, fully,
- 16:38Speaker 1: and I hope not because the woman would have clearly
- 16:40Speaker 1: preferred you.
- 16:41Speaker 6: I don't know about that, although you know, I'm.
- 16:44Speaker 4: Only how dare you you know how handsome you are? Yes, Scot, listen, listen, listen,
- 16:50Speaker 4: you to be handsome tell you know, listen, I know
- 16:54Speaker 4: that all of your supporters are out there right now,
- 16:58Speaker 4: you know, just you probably Boult, you know, quite a
- 17:01Speaker 4: few downloads to our podcast, just you.
- 17:03Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, now, yeah, that's very kind people.
- 17:06Speaker 4: Oh your Scandal crew, Hey girls, how y'all doingand.
- 17:12Speaker 1: C I'll take that as have something else in common,
- 17:17Speaker 1: and that is we've all had ABC cancel our shows
- 17:21Speaker 1: in season one, Yes.
- 17:22Speaker 2: Brutal thirteen episodes. He's got thirteen.
- 17:25Speaker 1: I only got I only got ten, Scott, how many
- 17:27Speaker 1: did you get?
- 17:28Speaker 5: We got thirteen, Thank goodness, and a trip to Prague?
- 17:32Speaker 2: That right, right, So for those.
- 17:34Speaker 1: Of you who don't know, because I guess not enough
- 17:36Speaker 1: of you knew, none enough. Scott was on a huge
- 17:40Speaker 1: budget action series that shot in Prague. He moved his
- 17:44Speaker 1: whole family there, which is no small deal because you
- 17:48Speaker 1: have two children, right.
- 17:49Speaker 5: I have three children. They were three school over there.
- 17:52Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 17:53Speaker 1: And it was not a by no means a simple
- 17:55Speaker 1: show I was about. I was going to direct it,
- 17:57Speaker 1: but then I had a conflict. But it was a
- 17:58Speaker 1: huge budget epic sort of James Bond comedic James Bond
- 18:02Speaker 1: action show that Bill Lawrence six Degrees of Bill Lawrence
- 18:07Speaker 1: was the showrunner of and I thought it was amazing.
- 18:10Speaker 1: The pilot was unbelievable. I couldn't believe the scale of it.
- 18:13Speaker 1: It looked like it looked like a giant feature. Oh
- 18:16Speaker 1: thanks man, and you were so good in it. But anyway,
- 18:19Speaker 1: I was, as I was preparing for today, I went
- 18:21Speaker 1: all three of us were at work, were stars of ABC,
- 18:24Speaker 1: and then got a new ABC show that only went
- 18:27Speaker 1: half a season.
- 18:29Speaker 5: Man, it was just and it's still heartbreaking. My wife
- 18:31Speaker 5: and I had a conversation about it a couple nights
- 18:33Speaker 5: ago where you know, she was like, Oh, I wish
- 18:35Speaker 5: we were still in Prague. You know, we just we
- 18:38Speaker 5: were so fortunate. And you know, that's one of the
- 18:40Speaker 5: great things about and one of the reasons I'm so
- 18:43Speaker 5: excited to talk to you guys today, because you know,
- 18:46Speaker 5: Scrubs for me was it started out as just a gig,
- 18:49Speaker 5: right and coming in doing something fun, doing something different,
- 18:52Speaker 5: and it has morphed into the relationships that I've made
- 18:58Speaker 5: from it have have sustained a lot of what I do,
- 19:02Speaker 5: and it's it's made me happy the people that I've
- 19:05Speaker 5: gotten to work with and gone on to work with
- 19:07Speaker 5: because of Scrubs have been great. And like you said,
- 19:10Speaker 5: Bill Lawrence was the showrunner of Whiskey Cavalier and we
- 19:13Speaker 5: were over in Prague together, and you know, without Scrubs
- 19:15Speaker 5: that wouldn't happened.
- 19:16Speaker 1: And I think he really showed that you were really funny, Scott.
- 19:20Speaker 1: I meant I think that with your other shows that
- 19:23Speaker 1: you'd known for, you know, whether it be Felicity or Scandal.
- 19:27Speaker 1: You know, obviously people know that you as a as
- 19:29Speaker 1: a great dramatic actor, but I think on Scrubs Bill
- 19:32Speaker 1: really gave you a chance to be hilarious. One of
- 19:35Speaker 1: my favorite moments of of of Sean's character was in
- 19:39Speaker 1: the script. I say this to Scott all the time
- 19:42Speaker 1: and Bill all the time that it literally said in
- 19:45Speaker 1: a script Sean for lornly rides a dolphin. And then
- 19:51Speaker 1: when I saw the shot of you for lorny riding
- 19:54Speaker 1: a dolphin, I thought he fucking nailed that.
- 19:57Speaker 6: Maybe he really the best screen direction of my career.
- 20:00Speaker 1: That's how I would sum up that shot is Sean
- 20:02Speaker 1: forlornly rise of Dolphin.
- 20:04Speaker 6: Oh thanks man, Well, I will look.
- 20:08Speaker 4: Before I will say this, though I knew you were
- 20:10Speaker 4: funny from when we did Felicity together when Noel went
- 20:12Speaker 4: off the rails and went a little batshit crazy, and
- 20:15Speaker 4: you got to explore this character who was kind of
- 20:19Speaker 4: by the book and did everything by the book, refined himself.
- 20:24Speaker 4: And I remember doing a bunch of episodes where they
- 20:26Speaker 4: were looking for you and we finally found you, and
- 20:29Speaker 4: you were like, you were completely out there, And I
- 20:31Speaker 4: remember not being able to hold it together when we
- 20:34Speaker 4: were doing the takes.
- 20:36Speaker 2: Because you were so funny.
- 20:37Speaker 4: So I knew you were funny way before we still
- 20:40Speaker 4: before you came on Scrubs.
- 20:41Speaker 6: Oh thanks man.
- 20:42Speaker 5: I yeah, I think I think Zach you overstated my
- 20:46Speaker 5: my talent by saying I'm a great dramatic actor. I
- 20:49Speaker 5: think I'm passable. But Donald, that was. That was a
- 20:52Speaker 5: bizarre like Season three Tangent where my character Nol decided
- 20:57Speaker 5: to change his name to Leon, literally just reversed the
- 20:59Speaker 5: letters in his name. They put like a weird wig
- 21:04Speaker 5: on me, so I had like blonde tips on my hair.
- 21:08Speaker 6: It was the strangest thing. But thank you, Donald, that was.
- 21:11Speaker 5: It was at least a little chance for me to
- 21:12Speaker 5: stretch myself in that character.
- 21:14Speaker 1: Now did J. J. Abrams run all the seasons?
- 21:17Speaker 6: Every season? Yes, every season.
- 21:20Speaker 5: He was gone a little bit on season four on
- 21:23Speaker 5: our final season because he had started a show called
- 21:26Speaker 5: Alias and so was sort of doing his time between
- 21:30Speaker 5: both sets. But he was there the whole time. I
- 21:33Speaker 5: was really fortunate. You know, obviously no one knew that J.
- 21:36Speaker 5: J Abrams would become J. J Abrams back then.
- 21:39Speaker 1: You know, you like, do you like Donald occasionally put
- 21:43Speaker 1: it out there that you're open to being in any
- 21:45Speaker 1: Star Wars franchises that he's just.
- 21:49Speaker 5: Can I tell you it's been, It's been the like
- 21:52Speaker 5: if if I was ever.
- 21:54Speaker 1: In Gunberg Gunberg, he keeps getting all the love. I mean,
- 21:57Speaker 1: where the Fu's happened with Donald and Scott Foley.
- 22:00Speaker 5: Grumburg and J. J Abrams have been friends since they
- 22:02Speaker 5: were three years old. Like they were best friends in
- 22:04Speaker 5: elementary school. They made you know, crappy movies together on
- 22:07Speaker 5: their Super eight film cameras when they were kids. They
- 22:11Speaker 5: were best men at each other's weddings. Look, I think
- 22:13Speaker 5: JJ knows just by the fact that I'm an actor
- 22:16Speaker 5: that I would like to be in Star Wars.
- 22:20Speaker 1: The gotta be more directs. Scot Donald's very about but
- 22:24Speaker 1: I would Yeah, of course, I would love to and
- 22:25Speaker 1: I've you know, every time he signs on to direct
- 22:28Speaker 1: a new one, I sent him a text like, Wow,
- 22:29Speaker 1: way to go.
- 22:30Speaker 5: You're not going to see your family for a while.
- 22:31Speaker 5: Might want some friends around. So I'm not sure how
- 22:36Speaker 5: to take it that he hasn't cast me in. You know,
- 22:38Speaker 5: you always there's the old story that you know someone
- 22:42Speaker 5: likes working with you, if they if they hire you
- 22:44Speaker 5: again and again and again. And I've been I've been
- 22:46Speaker 5: fortunate with Bill that that that's happened multiple times. JJ
- 22:49Speaker 5: not so much what you know, fun.
- 22:52Speaker 1: Jolly build a direct and giant tenpole movie. I mean,
- 22:55Speaker 1: what's going on? Bill?
- 22:56Speaker 2: Step it up?
- 22:56Speaker 5: Do you remember he was gonna do Fletch eight script
- 23:01Speaker 5: for Fletch and I went and I met with him,
- 23:02Speaker 5: I read with him and there was a whole long
- 23:04Speaker 5: Mirrormac story that goes with it.
- 23:06Speaker 6: But but he was on his way.
- 23:07Speaker 5: Man. I thought he would have been great at that.
- 23:08Speaker 1: I know we really need him. I don't think he
- 23:10Speaker 1: is interested. He loves TV so much. But I think
- 23:12Speaker 1: for all of us, we would like Bill to become
- 23:14Speaker 1: a studio ten pole filmmaker. If he doesn't mind.
- 23:17Speaker 5: Making movies anymore.
- 23:18Speaker 1: They do there's a couple coming out.
- 23:21Speaker 4: Yeah, they're saying July. They're saying like that into July,
- 23:24Speaker 4: things are gonna pick.
- 23:25Speaker 1: They're saying that Chris Nolan movie is coming out no
- 23:28Speaker 1: matter what Tenant. Oh, really right, That's what I've been hearing.
- 23:32Speaker 1: And then I mean, maybe they'll change their mind. But
- 23:35Speaker 1: I read something on the interwebs that said they're still
- 23:37Speaker 1: saying July, which assumes that people are going to be
- 23:40Speaker 1: willing to go to the theater in July. I don't,
- 23:43Speaker 1: I don't, I don't know. It seems pretty ballsy to
- 23:45Speaker 1: release like a two hundred million dollars. I mean, I
- 23:48Speaker 1: don't know if it's not much money, but I think
- 23:49Speaker 1: scient movies for that for in July.
- 23:53Speaker 4: But somethings are filming already, like they're filming in certain.
- 23:56Speaker 1: Joelle just said two hundred and five million and July seven,
- 24:00Speaker 1: that's coming up five million dollars. That's that's gonna be
- 24:05Speaker 1: interesting to see how you spend two hundred and five
- 24:06Speaker 1: million dollars.
- 24:08Speaker 5: I would think, like, wohden't you have to double the
- 24:09Speaker 5: amount of theaters because the theaters are only going to
- 24:11Speaker 5: be at half capacity just because of social distancing in
- 24:14Speaker 5: order to like, they're just start enough theaters out there.
- 24:17Speaker 1: The money two hundred and five is the production budget,
- 24:20Speaker 1: so they're gonna put like one hundred million into releasing it.
- 24:23Speaker 1: That is a that's a lot of money.
- 24:26Speaker 2: That is a lot of money.
- 24:27Speaker 4: But I asked my but then you ask yourself how
- 24:29Speaker 4: much did it cost to make Endgame and all of
- 24:31Speaker 4: those things? Those things look like they cost half a
- 24:33Speaker 4: billion dollars?
- 24:34Speaker 1: No, but when you've got a built in marvel Onians,
- 24:36Speaker 1: this movie has no mega celebrities in it at all.
- 24:40Speaker 2: But it's Nolan man.
- 24:41Speaker 1: I mean, I know, I know, Chris Nolan is his
- 24:42Speaker 1: own enterprise. Don't get me wrong, I get it. But
- 24:45Speaker 1: it's got to be the most amount of money spent
- 24:48Speaker 1: on an original script.
- 24:52Speaker 6: Wowty million iname.
- 24:54Speaker 1: Scott, you're not supposed to read the producer. Sorry, okay,
- 24:57Speaker 1: this is the second time it's did the same thing Sarah.
- 25:02Speaker 1: Sarah did the same thing. Scott Donald and I are
- 25:04Speaker 1: the hosts of the show. You as a guest, ignore
- 25:08Speaker 1: my producer's notes.
- 25:10Speaker 5: Well, no, you know what I was doing was pretending
- 25:11Speaker 5: that I actually knew the budget.
- 25:15Speaker 1: Sarah. We had Sarah on and Joel was like, you know,
- 25:18Speaker 1: Joel always gives us little things to help the conversation along,
- 25:21Speaker 1: and Sarah just starts reading them, like.
- 25:23Speaker 8: Sarah, that is not for the guests.
- 25:26Speaker 5: The fact that you needed little things to help the
- 25:28Speaker 5: conversation along with Sarah when we worked with for ten
- 25:30Speaker 5: years is amazing.
- 25:31Speaker 1: No, but I said, I said, Sarah, what happens if
- 25:33Speaker 1: Joel's writing like this is so boring? Help her along?
- 25:36Speaker 1: You know, like, don't read those?
- 25:38Speaker 5: Okay, So all, I'm gonna put a piece of tape
- 25:41Speaker 5: above my my no no, no, no, no, no.
- 25:43Speaker 1: No, no, I'm kidding. I'm kidding. Joel write Joel would
- 25:46Speaker 1: never write Scott fully is so boring. Don't worry.
- 25:49Speaker 5: She wouldn't be the first one.
- 25:50Speaker 1: Anyway. All I was saying was that Chris Nolan, I get,
- 25:53Speaker 1: is his own entity, and I get that everyone is
- 25:56Speaker 1: going to see this movie because he's a fucking genius.
- 25:58Speaker 1: But I wonder if it's the most amount of money
- 26:01Speaker 1: ever spent on a on a on a piece of
- 26:04Speaker 1: material that isn't already established piece of intellectual property like
- 26:08Speaker 1: Marvel or James Bond or the like. You know what
- 26:11Speaker 1: I'm saying.
- 26:13Speaker 4: I don't I don't know it's a lot of money
- 26:14Speaker 4: to have to spend on something and it not work,
- 26:17Speaker 4: you know.
- 26:17Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I mean just it's just the amount of
- 26:20Speaker 1: money it has to make in order for it to
- 26:22Speaker 1: be successful is just. And especially with what Scott's saying
- 26:26Speaker 1: is that the talk is that the theaters are only
- 26:28Speaker 1: gonna be half full, so you can have most distance
- 26:31Speaker 1: from from each other. So then you need double the
- 26:33Speaker 1: amount of screenings, you know, to work.
- 26:38Speaker 4: What would be really interesting is Okay, so Trolls World
- 26:41Speaker 4: Tour was supposed to come out in theaters and it
- 26:43Speaker 4: didn't make it to theaters because of the whole COVID thing, right,
- 26:46Speaker 4: and so they released it on uh digital, the digital platform,
- 26:51Speaker 4: but you had to rent it.
- 26:51Speaker 2: You couldn't buy it.
- 26:52Speaker 4: You could only rent it, and your rental lasts for about,
- 26:56Speaker 4: you know, twenty four hours. I wonder how much money
- 26:59Speaker 4: Trolls World Tour made. Because the model is there to
- 27:04Speaker 4: put movies out, well, at least right now, if you
- 27:06Speaker 4: if you really want to watch and they haven't really
- 27:11Speaker 4: experimented with like big blockbuster movies, but if you really
- 27:14Speaker 4: want to watch a movie, it's fine to watch it
- 27:17Speaker 4: at home. I understand they need movie theater money because
- 27:20Speaker 4: popcorn all of that shit theaters and everything. But I
- 27:22Speaker 4: wonder what Troll's World Tour did for Joelle?
- 27:26Speaker 2: Can we find that out?
- 27:28Speaker 1: I wonder if it's even I wonder if it's even published.
- 27:31Speaker 2: So seventy seven million Trolls World Tour did That's a lot.
- 27:35Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 27:36Speaker 1: Yeah, well that would be that would be you're saying,
- 27:38Speaker 1: is that the first weekend or is that total? No,
- 27:40Speaker 1: that would be faking sorry, that would be total. So
- 27:42Speaker 1: when you rented, because I haven't done this yet, when
- 27:44Speaker 1: you rent with this new model where you rent the
- 27:46Speaker 1: movie for twenty four hour, what is what? What did
- 27:48Speaker 1: Trolls cost you?
- 27:50Speaker 6: Twenty bucks nineteen ninety nine?
- 27:53Speaker 1: I love the two dads. No, they're like twenty bucks.
- 27:55Speaker 2: Yeah, oh yeah please.
- 27:56Speaker 5: I looked at my wife. I was like, we're spending
- 27:58Speaker 5: twenty bucks on this? Yeah, all right, several times to yah,
- 28:03Speaker 5: think how much?
- 28:04Speaker 1: Think how much money you've gotten off the faisons because
- 28:07Speaker 1: you guys are renting it multiple times.
- 28:09Speaker 4: But it would cost more if we went to the
- 28:11Speaker 4: movie theater though, because it would be yes, twenty bucks
- 28:14Speaker 4: each person.
- 28:15Speaker 2: You know what I mean?
- 28:16Speaker 6: And so yeah, that's right.
- 28:17Speaker 4: Plus popcorn and all of that stuff. I don't know
- 28:19Speaker 4: if they get money for the popcorn, but I'm just saying,
- 28:21Speaker 4: I wonder if that's a new Seventy seven million is
- 28:24Speaker 4: a lot of money to make online, Dude.
- 28:26Speaker 5: That's a new model they've been talking about it. I
- 28:27Speaker 5: think it's a it's an interesting way to go.
- 28:28Speaker 1: Tell me what people are going to start doing. I
- 28:30Speaker 1: mean if because I don't know. You know, Spike Lee
- 28:33Speaker 1: said the other day he's not going to the theater
- 28:34Speaker 1: until there's a vaccine, and I was kind of like, yeah,
- 28:37Speaker 1: I think I might agree with that.
- 28:39Speaker 6: Yeah, that makes sense. I mean, my wife's not leaving
- 28:42Speaker 6: the house till there's.
- 28:43Speaker 5: A fucking vaccine, you know.
- 28:45Speaker 6: And that's your choice, right, It's yeah, sure, I have
- 28:49Speaker 6: a lot to do with that.
- 28:51Speaker 1: Donald, your wife is your wife more hardcore than you
- 28:54Speaker 1: about this? Because Donald's definitely more hardcore than his wife.
- 28:56Speaker 5: No, my wife is anxiety ridden out everything. She is
- 29:02Speaker 5: terrified not just that we're going to get it, but
- 29:04Speaker 5: that we're all going to die from it when we
- 29:06Speaker 5: get it. You know. Mind you none of us have
- 29:09Speaker 5: pre existing conditions. She has made five hundred masks and
- 29:13Speaker 5: donated them and given them the friends. She is all
- 29:16Speaker 5: over this and I still can't leave the house. Yeah,
- 29:20Speaker 5: it's crazy.
- 29:21Speaker 6: It's crazy.
- 29:22Speaker 4: My wife doesn't like me right now because I'm like, well,
- 29:24Speaker 4: maybe it started off like this. Maybe maybe in May, honey,
- 29:28Speaker 4: maybe no, maybe in May. Okay, we'll see about May.
- 29:33Speaker 4: And then May's come around. I'm like, okay, maybe June.
- 29:35Speaker 4: And she's like, June is here, motherfucker. I'm like, listen, July.
- 29:41Speaker 4: When July comes around, I promise you, baby, we're gonna
- 29:45Speaker 4: scope out the situation and if it's all good, then
- 29:48Speaker 4: we can go outside.
- 29:49Speaker 1: Well, Donald and I got invited to go on Now
- 29:51Speaker 1: there's this really popular YouTube show called Good Mythical Morning,
- 29:55Speaker 1: and it's a hugely successful show. They do it in
- 30:00Speaker 1: a normal times to do it ever, excuse me, every
- 30:02Speaker 1: morning and uh we got an invite to do it
- 30:04Speaker 1: at the end of July, and I was like, I think, like,
- 30:08Speaker 1: and you have to go in person. They're not doing
- 30:10Speaker 1: it on on on Zoom And I was like, I think,
- 30:12Speaker 1: and we were just talking about this before the show,
- 30:14Speaker 1: like end of July, we could probably do that right
- 30:17Speaker 1: and we don't know. I mean, we're both having the conversation,
- 30:19Speaker 1: but in our heads, is like, are we gonna be
- 30:21Speaker 1: going to do a talk show end of July? Does
- 30:23Speaker 1: that seem like? Are we gonna wear masks?
- 30:25Speaker 5: Like?
- 30:25Speaker 1: I don't understand how it's gonna.
- 30:28Speaker 2: Talking face to face? Two.
- 30:30Speaker 5: I mean, you know, everybody's got an opinion. Mine is
- 30:33Speaker 5: I think it's gonna be okay. You know at a
- 30:35Speaker 5: certain point, don't don't you? Doesn't life have to go on?
- 30:39Speaker 6: I mean it does, yes.
- 30:40Speaker 1: I know, but but but choosing yeah, life will go on,
- 30:43Speaker 1: but choosing to go into like making choices that are
- 30:47Speaker 1: like I'm gonna go sit in a movie theater with
- 30:49Speaker 1: a bunch of people that might be coughing, or I'm
- 30:50Speaker 1: gonna go into a tight elevator or a restaurant. I
- 30:53Speaker 1: mean those choices. I don't know. I might, we might
- 30:55Speaker 1: hold hold off on those. We gotta go to a
- 30:58Speaker 1: break because that's what we have to do, because this
- 30:59Speaker 1: is a real show that has breaks and ads and
- 31:01Speaker 1: ship Scott fully, this isn't like a bullshit show. This
- 31:04Speaker 1: is a show breaks.
- 31:05Speaker 6: You guys have supporters, now, yeah.
- 31:07Speaker 1: We have, and we have real fancy ones too, and
- 31:11Speaker 1: here here's some here's some of them. Are well right,
- 31:24Speaker 1: Donald that I Donald that I dotal that I hold
- 31:27Speaker 1: off to see who's gonna do it.
- 31:28Speaker 8: We're like that.
- 31:32Speaker 6: The shame you guys don't enjoy this because of the delay.
- 31:35Speaker 1: Nothing we ever do is in sync. So we sometimes
- 31:37Speaker 1: asked Dan to in post to make it seem like
- 31:39Speaker 1: we know how to sing at the same time.
- 31:41Speaker 2: Thanks, Can you guys give me a minute to run
- 31:44Speaker 2: and grab my notes?
- 31:45Speaker 1: Yeah, but don't don't. Don't take a deuce, dude, we
- 31:47Speaker 1: got Scott Fully here.
- 31:50Speaker 2: Scott Fully I would never do on your time.
- 31:53Speaker 1: Okay, thank you.
- 31:55Speaker 5: His minute is the equivalent of him learning learning his
- 31:57Speaker 5: lines on scrubs.
- 31:58Speaker 1: This is glad. You know we talked a lot about this.
- 32:01Speaker 1: Will you please say that when he comes back.
- 32:04Speaker 6: Or not learning his lines, I should say.
- 32:06Speaker 5: He's going away.
- 32:08Speaker 1: He claims he's turned over a new leaf, but I
- 32:10Speaker 1: think that's just because he's worried that potential directors and
- 32:14Speaker 1: showrunners might be listening to the podcast and won't hire him.
- 32:17Speaker 1: So he has this whole thing where he says that
- 32:20Speaker 1: he's he's turned over a new leaf and now he
- 32:22Speaker 1: learns his lines.
- 32:24Speaker 6: Well, how it's a pandemic. That's his new leaf. There's
- 32:27Speaker 6: nothing to learn.
- 32:28Speaker 1: I know he also said he quit weed, but I
- 32:30Speaker 1: think that I will ask him if that's if that's lasted,
- 32:33Speaker 1: Why is your wife's instagram handled? The mean Chick? She
- 32:37Speaker 1: seems like such a nice person.
- 32:39Speaker 2: Does she.
- 32:40Speaker 1: Well, I don't know her that well, but every time
- 32:43Speaker 1: I've hung out with her, she seems delightful.
- 32:45Speaker 5: She is delightful her her She's Polish and her last
- 32:49Speaker 5: name is Domin Chick or demean Chick, which sounds like
- 32:52Speaker 5: the mean chick. So every time someone has has a
- 32:54Speaker 5: hard time pronouncing her name, she just says it sounds
- 32:56Speaker 5: like the mean chick.
- 32:57Speaker 6: So that's all.
- 32:58Speaker 1: Oh, I thought there was. I thought it was like
- 32:59Speaker 1: a thing like, look, you might think I'm nice, but
- 33:01Speaker 1: I'm a bitch.
- 33:03Speaker 6: No, no, no, she's She's an asshole. But god, I love her.
- 33:07Speaker 1: And she had a good part on your show too,
- 33:09Speaker 1: didn't she. Yeah, Man, I forgot. Did she have a
- 33:13Speaker 1: recurring or something?
- 33:14Speaker 6: She had she had a recurring role.
- 33:15Speaker 5: And that was sort of one of the one of
- 33:18Speaker 5: the caveats I had when I was when I was
- 33:20Speaker 5: talking about shooting this show in Prague, you know, I
- 33:23Speaker 5: was like, you guys want me to move over to
- 33:25Speaker 5: Prague for a year, and I got a wife who's
- 33:28Speaker 5: a working actress. I got three kids that I'm gonna
- 33:30Speaker 5: put in school, Like, I can't ask her to stop.
- 33:32Speaker 6: And Bill was like, she could be on the show. Yeah,
- 33:34Speaker 6: you know whatever.
- 33:35Speaker 1: Bill's a good salesman. He's like, I just I just
- 33:37Speaker 1: discovered who our new recurring role is.
- 33:40Speaker 5: Yeah, you know, but that it was a it was
- 33:43Speaker 5: a It was a smart move on his part and
- 33:45Speaker 5: and ours. Actually, you know, shooting over in Prague was
- 33:49Speaker 5: obviously much better for the budget. The tax breaks and
- 33:52Speaker 5: the cost of doing business over there is substantially lower.
- 33:56Speaker 1: So and and just that production value. You know, there's
- 33:58Speaker 1: a shot in the pilot. By the way, if you
- 33:59Speaker 1: haven't seen the show, go see it. Even if you
- 34:01Speaker 1: just watch the pilot, because you'll be impressed by the
- 34:04Speaker 1: scope of the damn thing. I just couldn't. I thought
- 34:06Speaker 1: it was a pilot was really well done, and I
- 34:09Speaker 1: was I was gonna go direct one. I was sort
- 34:10Speaker 1: of intimidated. I was like, how many days you get
- 34:12Speaker 1: to shoot these episodes?
- 34:14Speaker 6: Because it was just we were so excited to have
- 34:16Speaker 6: you over there.
- 34:16Speaker 5: Man. We were so bummed when it when it fell through,
- 34:18Speaker 5: and I know you got a big I got a gig.
- 34:20Speaker 1: I got a part in a a good role in
- 34:23Speaker 1: a movie with Christopher Walking and uh my actor crush heart.
- 34:27Speaker 1: Couldn't say no to that. As much as I wanted
- 34:29Speaker 1: to come to Prague and Boss Scott folding around the show,
- 34:35Speaker 1: I know she's that episode would have wouldn't have been
- 34:37Speaker 1: the thing. No, but I I I I can't wait
- 34:39Speaker 1: to work with you again because I think you're Fansmastic Donald.
- 34:43Speaker 2: You're so amazing in this episode.
- 34:45Speaker 1: Man, Yeah, let's get into the episode. Well, let's get
- 34:47Speaker 1: in the episode. Yeah, it's a very good episode. You
- 34:50Speaker 1: know we Adam Burnsteen directed it. Who directed our pilot.
- 34:53Speaker 1: We've told you, and he's a very very funny talented guy,
- 34:56Speaker 1: Eric Er, very funny rider.
- 35:00Speaker 6: I played tennis with him after this episode.
- 35:02Speaker 1: You're a good tennis players and not a bit of
- 35:04Speaker 1: trivia about you.
- 35:05Speaker 5: That is a bit of trivia about me. I'm I
- 35:06Speaker 5: can hold my own. I'm not great, but I can
- 35:08Speaker 5: hold my own.
- 35:09Speaker 2: That's what college.
- 35:10Speaker 1: That's what people who are really good say to be modest.
- 35:12Speaker 1: You're really good. I think can you beat Bill?
- 35:15Speaker 5: No?
- 35:16Speaker 1: Yeah, Bill's really good.
- 35:17Speaker 5: Bill's really good. Although although these days I don't know,
- 35:19Speaker 5: he's gotten older.
- 35:21Speaker 1: Bill. You know, Bill and I we don't. We don't
- 35:24Speaker 1: play together because it's just not fun for for either
- 35:26Speaker 1: one of us. But we often hit. We've we've vacationed together,
- 35:31Speaker 1: and we would like each hit with a pro on
- 35:33Speaker 1: separate courts because I'm I just can just get by.
- 35:36Speaker 1: But I love it. And Bill's is like, you know,
- 35:38Speaker 1: played college is really good. Yeah, but he would play
- 35:41Speaker 1: these young pros and try his ass off to but
- 35:45Speaker 1: he would keep up with him. I mean, you know
- 35:46Speaker 1: it was it was he was impressive.
- 35:48Speaker 5: Yeah, No, he's he's good.
- 35:49Speaker 6: He and I have gone out to hit a few times.
- 35:51Speaker 5: And we have a tennis program named Christian Kapolick who
- 35:56Speaker 5: was a pro for a while and and sort of
- 35:57Speaker 5: hits with a bunch of people around town and we
- 35:59Speaker 5: both play with him.
- 36:00Speaker 6: But Bill's very talented.
- 36:01Speaker 5: As by the way, getting back to the episode, was
- 36:04Speaker 5: mister Weinberg, he's a very good tennis player.
- 36:07Speaker 1: I got to say that. What I want to start
- 36:09Speaker 1: to say is that you know, we're watching these episodes, Scott,
- 36:11Speaker 1: and they're all some of them are great and some
- 36:13Speaker 1: of them are just okay. As as happens when you
- 36:16Speaker 1: make one hundred and eighty two episodes of something. Sure,
- 36:18Speaker 1: I have to say this one is particularly really.
- 36:21Speaker 2: Fucking funny that one quite a few times.
- 36:24Speaker 1: I about a bunch. Not only do we have Scott'sholt
- 36:27Speaker 1: and Sarah's ark, which is hilarious, but the janitor fucking
- 36:30Speaker 1: with me and telling all my patients to get sergerty.
- 36:33Speaker 1: It's so funny.
- 36:35Speaker 5: And Donald he just everybody to everybody. I was this episode.
- 36:40Speaker 5: He talks to.
- 36:41Speaker 1: Ever everybody Bill, you know, as you know Bill has
- 36:45Speaker 1: held on to this, uh, this lure that in season
- 36:49Speaker 1: one the janitor only spoke to JD. And and if
- 36:52Speaker 1: he was debating whether as we went forward, if if
- 36:55Speaker 1: the janitor would be just be a figure in JD's imagination.
- 36:57Speaker 2: This is where it went off the way.
- 36:59Speaker 1: Yeah, I think EPI episode he must have been like
- 37:02Speaker 1: fucking because the janitor talks everybody.
- 37:05Speaker 2: J is real.
- 37:06Speaker 6: He's given advice, He's given medical.
- 37:08Speaker 1: Advice to people. Yeah, that was really funny. Let's get
- 37:12Speaker 1: into it. I'm your biach. Very funny. U.
- 37:15Speaker 2: Yeah, this was.
- 37:16Speaker 4: This is the beginning, well not the beginning of Scrubs
- 37:19Speaker 4: being a musical, because we had Judy and Sam sing together.
- 37:22Speaker 2: Yeah, but this is the beginning of big product musical productions.
- 37:25Speaker 4: Though in scrubb we're all dancing in the hallway, Yeah,
- 37:29Speaker 4: singing on a on a made up uh fire escape.
- 37:33Speaker 1: Yeah. This was our homage to West Side Story, and
- 37:36Speaker 1: we clearly didn't have the rights because we're very clearly
- 37:38Speaker 1: tiptoeing around it being a West Side Story spoof. But
- 37:41Speaker 1: it is a West Side Story spoof.
- 37:43Speaker 5: I loved it. I love the musical theater references. I thought,
- 37:46Speaker 5: you know, I was I was sitting there watching this
- 37:47Speaker 5: trying to think of the sort of the theme, and
- 37:49Speaker 5: you know, they talk about competition, but but whether it's
- 37:52Speaker 5: whether it's you, H J D and Turk or Cox
- 37:57Speaker 5: and kelso like it's it's not necessarily competition, but there's
- 38:00Speaker 5: a power struggle happening here with all these characters, which
- 38:03Speaker 5: was really interesting to watch. And I thought the you know,
- 38:05Speaker 5: we're not obviously not there yet, but I thought that
- 38:07Speaker 5: the resolution, especially when it came to you guys a storyline,
- 38:11Speaker 5: was a great one.
- 38:12Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, it is about it's about I guess that's
- 38:15Speaker 1: the theme in the two main storyline, I mean not
- 38:18Speaker 1: the two main because you and Sarah on one but
- 38:20Speaker 1: the Cox Kelso one and the me Donald one is
- 38:23Speaker 1: competing with your peers. And you're right, it is the
- 38:26Speaker 1: first time we get into all these games that Donald
- 38:28Speaker 1: and I would play over the years. Uh, these stupid,
- 38:31Speaker 1: these stupid little challenges. You know, what was the one
- 38:34Speaker 1: with hide the saltine and all the many things.
- 38:39Speaker 2: But this was the first tower finger.
- 38:41Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah.
- 38:43Speaker 5: And they're all very They're all named in a very
- 38:46Speaker 5: Bill Lawrence way, you know, like steak is just called steak,
- 38:50Speaker 5: it's just but but even what Cox calls the nerves
- 38:53Speaker 5: coffee nurse. Like it's so simple the way Bill names things.
- 38:57Speaker 1: And it's hilarious, by the way, a little bit of
- 38:58Speaker 1: trivia coffee nurs. I don't know if you know this
- 39:01Speaker 1: is uh Matt Tarsus's beautiful wife, Katie Tarsus.
- 39:06Speaker 6: Matt, I didn't know that, Matt.
- 39:07Speaker 1: I didn't you know Matt Tarsis Scott.
- 39:09Speaker 6: Fully, Yeah, I know Matt, but I didn't know that
- 39:11Speaker 6: was his wife.
- 39:11Speaker 1: Matt tarsus Is was one of our great writers on Scrubs,
- 39:14Speaker 1: and he created, along with me, our our ABC show
- 39:18Speaker 1: that didn't work, Alex inc And uh, he's a great
- 39:21Speaker 1: human being and has a beautiful wife. And I stopped
- 39:24Speaker 1: and I was like, that's Katie Tarsus playing coffee nurse.
- 39:29Speaker 2: She was great.
- 39:30Speaker 1: And I texted and I said, your wife is so
- 39:33Speaker 1: beautiful in this episode and he said yes, And I said,
- 39:37Speaker 1: I'm not gonna never mind. What do you got done?
- 39:44Speaker 1: You got anything else? This dude is fucking hilarious.
- 39:48Speaker 2: What's the name of the gentleman who played mess Red Stoler?
- 39:51Speaker 8: Is his name?
- 39:53Speaker 2: So good?
- 39:53Speaker 8: This guy.
- 39:54Speaker 1: I got to tell you, if you are a director
- 39:57Speaker 1: or a filmmaker or a showrunner, you need to hire
- 39:59Speaker 1: this guy because every sentence he said, I laughed out loud.
- 40:02Speaker 2: Out loud. I remember laughing when we were making the
- 40:06Speaker 2: show and him doing this. The lines in the thing
- 40:09Speaker 2: the Chicken that he shit had me going for days.
- 40:13Speaker 1: He takes the funniest he takes the funniest stutter, and
- 40:16Speaker 1: I tried to write it down because the word what
- 40:17Speaker 1: he's trying to say is no, you said chicken. But
- 40:20Speaker 1: what it comes out is he goes, no, you chicken again,
- 40:24Speaker 1: and like, I don't know, you can't write that in
- 40:26Speaker 1: a script. That's just an actor coming up with something funny.
- 40:29Speaker 1: It was hilarious.
- 40:30Speaker 6: He's been around for years.
- 40:31Speaker 5: He's that character actor guy who just pops up and
- 40:34Speaker 5: he slays every time you see him.
- 40:36Speaker 6: He's got such a dry sense of humor that is
- 40:39Speaker 6: innately watchable.
- 40:40Speaker 1: There is this there is this type of really funny actor.
- 40:44Speaker 1: They're often called the character actors that like Fred that
- 40:47Speaker 1: can that and Bill would hire lots of them on
- 40:49Speaker 1: the show over the years, and he jokingly would call
- 40:52Speaker 1: him his assassins. And Bob Pundennen is another one. And
- 40:55Speaker 1: they would just come on and they would have like
- 40:57Speaker 1: a few lines, but everything they said was was and uh.
- 41:01Speaker 1: And I just want to say to Fred and anyone
- 41:04Speaker 1: who knows Fred, every single thing you said on this
- 41:06Speaker 1: episode made us laugh.
- 41:07Speaker 2: Yeah, he came back to later on, not you know,
- 41:11Speaker 2: seasons later.
- 41:12Speaker 4: Actually I thought he would be somebody who would come
- 41:15Speaker 4: back into the hospital over and over again.
- 41:16Speaker 1: I think, yeah, when this was, when this episode was done,
- 41:19Speaker 1: I remember telling Bill like, you got to have that
- 41:20Speaker 1: guy back, you got to have him. Yeah, he should
- 41:22Speaker 1: be a regular. He's hilarious.
- 41:24Speaker 6: He was really funny.
- 41:25Speaker 2: Yeah, I agree on the treadmill. Yeah, oh god one,
- 41:31Speaker 2: you look great.
- 41:32Speaker 4: You got that young you got that young body where
- 41:34Speaker 4: the shoulders haven't really caught up yet.
- 41:38Speaker 2: You know what I mean, where they're like huge, your
- 41:41Speaker 2: shoulders like so high and everything.
- 41:42Speaker 4: You know what I'm talking about. When you're like a baby,
- 41:44Speaker 4: you know what you're talking about, you start growing lats
- 41:46Speaker 4: and ship.
- 41:46Speaker 2: Anyway, Uh, when making that the fall, was that you?
- 41:51Speaker 2: Or was that the same question asking you to do it?
- 41:54Speaker 1: The fall was me? I was.
- 41:56Speaker 6: I was terrified about this.
- 41:57Speaker 5: This was the scene in the script that had me
- 42:00Speaker 5: the most nervous, and for ridiculous reasons, Like there is
- 42:04Speaker 5: something about watching people run on screen that you can
- 42:09Speaker 5: look the gate, your gate. You can look like an idiot,
- 42:12Speaker 5: or you can look okay. You know, like if you
- 42:14Speaker 5: you see people run on screen, you're like, that's a
- 42:16Speaker 5: weird run. That's it, and it's it's quick and easy
- 42:19Speaker 5: to judge. So I was very nervous about that. But
- 42:23Speaker 5: I also felt that the here far be it from
- 42:25Speaker 5: me to be a writer, but I felt that the
- 42:27Speaker 5: scene needed like a button at the end. It didn't.
- 42:30Speaker 6: It didn't come together quite right.
- 42:33Speaker 5: And I remember the first time I thought about doing it,
- 42:36Speaker 5: and in the scene I just halfway through the first
- 42:38Speaker 5: take I decided to do it, and everyone flipped out.
- 42:41Speaker 6: Like we didn't even like, They're.
- 42:42Speaker 5: Like, are you okay? Oh my god, what happened?
- 42:43Speaker 1: Guys?
- 42:44Speaker 5: Can we get a medican here?
- 42:44Speaker 1: Someone?
- 42:45Speaker 5: I was like, no, no, no, no, it was a bit.
- 42:47Speaker 1: It was a bit. Guy. That's pretty courageous of you
- 42:49Speaker 1: to do a unscheduled, almost proudfall on a treadmill running.
- 42:53Speaker 1: That's advanced, Scott, Thank.
- 42:55Speaker 6: You, my friend.
- 42:56Speaker 5: Well, I pride myself on physical comedy, although I never
- 42:59Speaker 5: get to do it my wife sichem at home and
- 43:01Speaker 5: my wife is sick of it.
- 43:03Speaker 3: But it was.
- 43:03Speaker 5: It was Unfortunately they liked it after they calmed down
- 43:07Speaker 5: and I had to do it, you know, seven more times.
- 43:10Speaker 1: Right, Well, good thing you survived. I liked it because
- 43:13Speaker 1: you were such a good ying yang for Sarah, because
- 43:18Speaker 1: you're both sort of goofy and nervous and neurotic, and
- 43:23Speaker 1: it was just so she's doing all this ridiculous stuff
- 43:26Speaker 1: and you're seemingly holding it together, and then she looks
- 43:29Speaker 1: away and you trip on the treadmill. I thought that
- 43:31Speaker 1: was really funny.
- 43:32Speaker 6: Thanks man. It was.
- 43:34Speaker 5: You know, finding it's always a hard thing when you
- 43:36Speaker 5: first come onto a show. Even even though you guys
- 43:38Speaker 5: were in your first season New this is the twentieth episode.
- 43:41Speaker 5: So to try to establish a character amongst all these
- 43:44Speaker 5: other characters is a really hard.
- 43:45Speaker 6: Thing to do.
- 43:45Speaker 5: And Sarah and I talked about it a bit, and
- 43:48Speaker 5: you know, I think what we came up with for
- 43:50Speaker 5: Sean and worked ultimately. You know, he got a little
- 43:55Speaker 5: more confident as the show went on and his episodes
- 43:58Speaker 5: got there. But it was fun playing the sort of nervous, neurotic,
- 44:02Speaker 5: uh somewhat insecure kid. It was really interesting.
- 44:07Speaker 4: Yeah, you're your your character arc throughout the show is
- 44:10Speaker 4: It's really it's very interesting because you do start off,
- 44:13Speaker 4: you and Sarah are pretty much the same character. You're
- 44:15Speaker 4: just the male version of her. And then all of
- 44:17Speaker 4: a sudden you develop this confidence, right, and then you
- 44:21Speaker 4: lose this confidence all of a sudden when she breaks
- 44:23Speaker 4: up with you out of nowhere, you know, when you
- 44:25Speaker 4: grow the beard and.
- 44:28Speaker 1: And and he forelearnly rides a dolphin.
- 44:32Speaker 5: They had me doing some strange things, which I hope
- 44:34Speaker 5: we get to talk about in future episodes.
- 44:36Speaker 6: Look at where I am inviting myself over.
- 44:38Speaker 1: You know, absolutely, Scott, you are so good for our
- 44:43Speaker 1: ratings that we are back. I hope you'll come back
- 44:47Speaker 1: on episodes you have nothing to do with.
- 44:49Speaker 6: I would love to just to make fun of people.
- 44:52Speaker 1: Know we're already you're you're we're already inviting you back
- 44:54Speaker 1: because we have to talk about SeaWorld. Uh and uh
- 44:57Speaker 1: oh yeah. I would like to say that I know
- 45:00Speaker 1: longer support SeaWorld, but at the time we were happy
- 45:02Speaker 1: to go to the Sea World.
- 45:03Speaker 4: I remember being so pissed off because I couldn't go.
- 45:06Speaker 4: None of my scenes were at sea World. So let
- 45:08Speaker 4: me get straight, Let me get to straight. Y'all are
- 45:10Speaker 4: all going to San Diego to hang out for a
- 45:13Speaker 4: night in San Diego and ride dolphins and I got
- 45:16Speaker 4: to stay back at the mofucking hospital.
- 45:19Speaker 2: Was I was so pissed.
- 45:20Speaker 1: It was so fun. But this was all before we
- 45:22Speaker 1: all saw the documentary Blackfish, and yes, and now we don't.
- 45:26Speaker 1: We don't go there anymore, and now we encourage people
- 45:28Speaker 1: to not go there anymore. But before we were all h.
- 45:33Speaker 2: Before we knew, before we knew, before we.
- 45:36Speaker 1: Were animal woke and Scott, you you did get to
- 45:39Speaker 1: forlornly ride a dolphin, which is one of the coolest
- 45:41Speaker 1: things anyone could ever do in their career.
- 45:43Speaker 5: The things that I got to do on this show
- 45:46Speaker 5: were still some of the highlights of my career. I mean,
- 45:50Speaker 5: between riding on the dolphin, doing this Betty the seal bit.
- 45:55Speaker 5: I don't know if you remember this, but I had
- 45:56Speaker 5: like a phone call with Sarah and I turned my
- 45:59Speaker 5: head in this steal turns his head towards me, and
- 46:01Speaker 5: I look away like it sticks his tongue out of me.
- 46:03Speaker 5: I've got to be like a like damn close to
- 46:06Speaker 5: a killer whale and a beluga whale. And it was
- 46:09Speaker 5: a it was a really amazing experience, and I'll never
- 46:11Speaker 5: forget it.
- 46:12Speaker 1: Think how sad that whale was, Scott while you were
- 46:14Speaker 1: acting with it.
- 46:15Speaker 6: I had no idea.
- 46:16Speaker 5: It didn't let on, you're gonna.
- 46:22Speaker 2: Get mail for that one. We're gonna.
- 46:26Speaker 1: Scott's I had no idea.
- 46:28Speaker 8: I did not know.
- 46:29Speaker 5: I didn't say a damn thing. I would have been.
- 46:31Speaker 1: I would have had his Listen, we're trying to buy
- 46:34Speaker 1: it back with some karma now by saying don't support
- 46:36Speaker 1: it any longer. So there you go.
- 46:38Speaker 2: There you go boy.
- 46:39Speaker 1: All right, let's talk about let's talk about when he goes.
- 46:43Speaker 8: I love when he goes.
- 46:45Speaker 1: What are you eight eleven? Uh with with with Hoffner?
- 46:48Speaker 1: I go He goes, what are you serving for dinner
- 46:50Speaker 1: the night? And I go, that's that's not really my area.
- 46:52Speaker 1: He goes, I'd like chicken.
- 46:58Speaker 6: That guy was great.
- 46:58Speaker 1: He just chicken, chicken, chicken.
- 47:04Speaker 6: So I was I don't know where.
- 47:06Speaker 5: I don't know where in the show that is, But
- 47:08Speaker 5: I want to talk for a second about you two
- 47:11Speaker 5: singing on the fire escape. Yeah, which was a I
- 47:16Speaker 5: loved it, and I love the musical theater references, and
- 47:18Speaker 5: those are something that find a home throughout the life
- 47:21Speaker 5: of this television show. But the smile that you had
- 47:26Speaker 5: on your face, Zach, you were unable to hide, made
- 47:30Speaker 5: me rewind it two or three times to be like,
- 47:33Speaker 5: is he just smiling because he's singing or Scot? No, no, no,
- 47:35Speaker 5: he can't hold back his laugher.
- 47:37Speaker 1: Scott, I had a Phantom of the opera beach towel
- 47:39Speaker 1: hung on my wall as a child. I'm very aware
- 47:43Speaker 1: this was me living my best life.
- 47:45Speaker 5: It was someone your Seinfeld moment, someone your Seinfeld moment,
- 47:49Speaker 5: unable to hide your smile.
- 47:50Speaker 1: Someone was paying me well to hold donald and sing
- 47:54Speaker 1: musical theater to him. I was like, how could life
- 47:57Speaker 1: get better than this?
- 47:58Speaker 5: It was fantastic.
- 48:00Speaker 6: And I appreciated you not being able to contain your.
- 48:02Speaker 1: Life show getting a getting a lead in a TV
- 48:04Speaker 1: show was was enough. Now you're letting me sing a
- 48:08Speaker 1: love song to Donald on a fire escape.
- 48:11Speaker 2: Come on.
- 48:12Speaker 5: It was great. And by the way, the way you
- 48:14Speaker 5: guys did the dancing in the hallway, everybody looked professional.
- 48:20Speaker 1: Was going everyone well, obviously everyone that wasn't the lead
- 48:24Speaker 1: was a dancer.
- 48:24Speaker 2: And the best I've ever seen Sarah dance.
- 48:29Speaker 1: Also, to me, Sarah can dance, Sarah. She can't sing,
- 48:32Speaker 1: but she can dance.
- 48:33Speaker 4: Dude, she was on fire and this ship, Dude, like
- 48:36Speaker 4: I've seen Sarah dance, and Sarah dances like you know,
- 48:39Speaker 4: Sarah Dan.
- 48:40Speaker 2: I'm not gonna Dan. She knows Sarah dances like she dances.
- 48:44Speaker 1: Well, she knows her. She has her little thing she does,
- 48:46Speaker 1: which was agnorable. But she she was doing like full
- 48:49Speaker 1: on you know, Broadway choreography.
- 48:52Speaker 8: Yeah, dude, yes he was.
- 48:57Speaker 2: But Rob Mahio, Rob Mascio, did you know? I wonder
- 49:00Speaker 2: if Rob Mashio ever did musical theater. I bet he did.
- 49:03Speaker 2: I bet he did.
- 49:04Speaker 1: We should have a section where we go to Rob.
- 49:05Speaker 2: This is a Bill Lawrence question.
- 49:07Speaker 8: No, we should go to.
- 49:08Speaker 1: Rob and now we go to Rob.
- 49:10Speaker 6: No, he's like a correspondent, Rob.
- 49:12Speaker 1: Yeah, going to Rob live. Rob is a very successful
- 49:16Speaker 1: realtor now at the beach. Scott. I don't know if
- 49:18Speaker 1: you know that. So when you're ready to buy your
- 49:20Speaker 1: beach house, you better use Rob Mashio.
- 49:22Speaker 5: I'm not going to be ready to buy my beach
- 49:23Speaker 5: house for a while, but I'll use him when I do.
- 49:26Speaker 1: Yes, I encourage anyone. We always like to give Rob shoutouts.
- 49:29Speaker 1: You can get Rob on cameo and you can pay
- 49:32Speaker 1: him a nominal fee to send you a video where
- 49:35Speaker 1: he high fives your friends. So go on cameo and
- 49:37Speaker 1: hire Rob Mashio. And of course, if you're looking for
- 49:39Speaker 1: real estate on the West side of Los Angeles, we
- 49:41Speaker 1: encourage you to hire him.
- 49:44Speaker 5: I'd like to go on cameo and have him and
- 49:46Speaker 5: pay him whatever it costs just to watch him run line.
- 49:54Speaker 1: By the way, Scott, I'm gonna I don't know what's
- 49:57Speaker 1: your birthday, I'm going to send you a cameo from Rob.
- 50:00Speaker 6: Oh, that's great, July fifteenth, that's coming on.
- 50:02Speaker 1: It's coming up. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I hope Rob will
- 50:05Speaker 1: give it to me for free, but if not, I'm
- 50:06Speaker 1: willing no no, no cameo makes you pay, Okay, I'm
- 50:11Speaker 1: gonna donald. Don't you think we should hire Rob to
- 50:13Speaker 1: give sent Scott Follia a high five cameo?
- 50:16Speaker 2: I think that would be the best thing ever. And
- 50:17Speaker 2: if you have to share it too.
- 50:18Speaker 1: You know you can get Really my brother loves baseball
- 50:21Speaker 1: more than anything, and they have like old school you know,
- 50:24Speaker 1: they have sports players. Is that what you call them? Sports?
- 50:27Speaker 1: Sports players, sports people?
- 50:28Speaker 2: Sure, athletes?
- 50:29Speaker 1: They have athletes, athletes, sports players. They have famous sports
- 50:35Speaker 1: players and uh and.
- 50:40Speaker 6: Ball and bad guys.
- 50:42Speaker 1: But some of them are like I don't know if
- 50:43Speaker 1: you like Lenny Dykestraw, don't know if you've heard Lenny
- 50:45Speaker 1: Dykes strown Ward Stern lately, but he's you know, he's
- 50:47Speaker 1: gotten a little wacky. And I was thinking about getting
- 50:49Speaker 1: Lenny Dykster from my brother to like send him a message.
- 50:52Speaker 6: Are you guys on that you do cameo?
- 50:54Speaker 1: I'm not on there, but I I occasionally scroll it
- 50:57Speaker 1: because there's some people that I think would be very
- 51:00Speaker 1: funny to hire for other people. Yeah, and uh, and
- 51:04Speaker 1: so I've I've thought about it, but like, like I
- 51:07Speaker 1: saw Olivia Wilde. I follow on Instagram and I'm friends
- 51:09Speaker 1: with her, and she she loved that that documentary Cheer.
- 51:12Speaker 1: I don't know if you saw Cheer, yes, but one
- 51:15Speaker 1: of her friends hired all the kids, all the kids
- 51:17Speaker 1: from Cheer are on there, hired every single one of
- 51:19Speaker 1: them to send her birthday messages, and so for her
- 51:22Speaker 1: feed on her birthday was all the kids from Cheers
- 51:25Speaker 1: sending her birthday messages. I thought that was that's so cool.
- 51:27Speaker 5: That's a great idea.
- 51:28Speaker 1: So there you go, gift, It's a great gift idea.
- 51:31Speaker 1: There you go. I'm giving I'm giving Cameo a shout out.
- 51:33Speaker 1: Although Donald and I are not on there.
- 51:35Speaker 4: Have you guys, Have you guys ever met anyone that's
- 51:38Speaker 4: as competitive as these guys are on the show that
- 51:41Speaker 4: just you know, uh, you are competent.
- 51:44Speaker 2: You think I'm competitive, not in life, but sports wise,
- 51:47Speaker 2: you are when it comes to.
- 51:50Speaker 4: The day, when it comes to playing sports against anyone,
- 51:52Speaker 4: absolutely regardless of what it is, I want to win.
- 51:54Speaker 2: You're absolutely.
- 51:55Speaker 4: Wait, I don't know, I don't know anybody in life
- 51:57Speaker 4: that's like that, other than Bill Lawrence. I was gonna
- 51:59Speaker 4: say Bil Laura, but other than Bill Lawrence.
- 52:01Speaker 1: Bill is the most competitive person I know in real life.
- 52:04Speaker 4: Where you where it's like you can't walk, don't walk
- 52:06Speaker 4: faster than him, or he's gonna think it's a race.
- 52:09Speaker 1: Yeah, this is probab. Why it's in the scripts because.
- 52:13Speaker 6: We have I have a funny Bill Lawrence walking story.
- 52:15Speaker 5: We were in We took a trip from Progue when
- 52:17Speaker 5: we were shoot Whiskey Cavalier over to Amsterdam. And if
- 52:20Speaker 5: you guys have never been there, it's a huge bicycle culture, right,
- 52:24Speaker 5: everyone rides bikes around.
- 52:25Speaker 6: So we're walking down the sidewalks and.
- 52:27Speaker 5: Wherever you wherever you are, you're inundated with these bicycle
- 52:31Speaker 5: bells ringing constantly telling you to get out of the way,
- 52:35Speaker 5: and you don't know where they're coming from, and you're
- 52:36Speaker 5: looking behind you and you're always stepping off trying to
- 52:39Speaker 5: get out of the way.
- 52:40Speaker 6: And we were walking down and there was nobody around us.
- 52:42Speaker 5: It had to be two in the morning. We've just
- 52:44Speaker 5: seen a raiding concert in Amsterdam.
- 52:49Speaker 2: At every show episode.
- 52:53Speaker 6: Shout out my wife was he you know.
- 52:55Speaker 5: Bill was like, We're gonna go fly to Amsterdam and
- 52:57Speaker 5: go see him, and he does this song and my
- 52:58Speaker 5: wife is like, oh, my god, yea to sing only you.
- 53:00Speaker 5: So of course in the middle of this thing, he's
- 53:02Speaker 5: like and for Marika, only you, and she's like tearing up.
- 53:07Speaker 6: I'm like, I think he's making fun of you.
- 53:08Speaker 5: Baby.
- 53:09Speaker 6: He doesn't want to sing the song.
- 53:10Speaker 5: But we're we're walking back to the hotel and there's
- 53:13Speaker 5: you know, it's dead, it's two in the morning, and
- 53:16Speaker 5: there are all these bikes parked along. Nobody's riding bikes,
- 53:19Speaker 5: but they're all sort of chained up along the sidewalk.
- 53:21Speaker 5: And we're walking. Bill's a couple uh steps ahead of
- 53:24Speaker 5: me and I ring one of these locked up bike's bells.
- 53:29Speaker 6: He damn near went to his knees.
- 53:30Speaker 5: He was so afraid.
- 53:31Speaker 6: He was such a PTSD.
- 53:34Speaker 5: I've never seen Bill.
- 53:35Speaker 8: Like, oh God like he.
- 53:36Speaker 6: I don't think he'll ever go back to Amsterdam.
- 53:38Speaker 5: Because.
- 53:41Speaker 2: All right, we went to Amsterdam together.
- 53:43Speaker 1: Yeah, Donald and I went to Amscham together.
- 53:45Speaker 2: Oh that was dangerous.
- 53:47Speaker 1: Yeah. I don't know if we can tell any of
- 53:48Speaker 1: those stories.
- 53:49Speaker 2: I don't think we can.
- 53:50Speaker 8: I know they want to hear it.
- 53:52Speaker 2: We had some good time in Amstam. Did you guys
- 53:54Speaker 2: have a good time in Amsterdam? It was the best,
- 53:57Speaker 2: the best, Yeah.
- 54:00Speaker 5: I mean it wasn't Yeah, it wasn't like that kind
- 54:02Speaker 5: of good time because we were sort of I was
- 54:03Speaker 5: with work people, I know, but it was that kind
- 54:07Speaker 5: of good time.
- 54:08Speaker 1: Yeah, tried God's let Us and it was delicious.
- 54:11Speaker 6: Oh Jesus, they got you didn't have one of those,
- 54:14Speaker 6: one of those.
- 54:14Speaker 1: This was before God's let Us. This is before God's
- 54:17Speaker 1: let Us was legal in California. We were really Yeah,
- 54:20Speaker 1: they really like it over there, you know.
- 54:22Speaker 6: Now we had it was a moon pie or there's
- 54:24Speaker 6: something like that over there that you eat and it
- 54:26Speaker 6: just wrecks you.
- 54:28Speaker 1: Oh.
- 54:28Speaker 2: I wish, I mean, I wish.
- 54:31Speaker 5: I would have known.
- 54:33Speaker 1: This is a real show. Now we're not just two
- 54:35Speaker 1: guys doing this out of their closets. We have to
- 54:37Speaker 1: go to advertisers. Will be right, We'll be right back.
- 54:48Speaker 8: We're back.
- 54:48Speaker 1: I'm looking at I'm looking at both Scott Fully and
- 54:50Speaker 1: Donald Faison in their closets. Scott's has to continually wave
- 54:54Speaker 1: his arm to make his lights go. I wish we
- 54:56Speaker 1: were recording the video of this because it would be
- 54:59Speaker 1: the light.
- 55:00Speaker 2: We'll start putting them out. We'll start putting one, all right,
- 55:05Speaker 2: bring them in.
- 55:05Speaker 1: Joelle and uh Dana just the mic for Donald's Oprah introduction,
- 55:09Speaker 1: because you know it can get loud.
- 55:12Speaker 2: Donald, please adjust your mic for the Okay, I'll back
- 55:15Speaker 2: up a little bit.
- 55:16Speaker 1: It's okay. Worried about it? No, he's ready. He's a professional. Donald.
- 55:20Speaker 1: Here comes Jenny.
- 55:21Speaker 4: Ladies and gentlemen, give it up for Jenny Pulster.
- 55:26Speaker 1: I think it's Pulston. Is it Puleston?
- 55:27Speaker 5: Jenny, Yes, that's correct, that's what I said.
- 55:36Speaker 1: Hi, Jenny, welcome to Fake Doctor's Real Friends. You picked
- 55:39Speaker 1: a very good day to be on because we have
- 55:41Speaker 1: a very funny and handsome guest named Scott Foley. You
- 55:44Speaker 1: might know him from the show Scandal, Felicity, Whiskey, fox Trot.
- 55:50Speaker 2: Scrub Whiskey cavalier.
- 55:56Speaker 1: Jenny, Sorry, Scott, Scott, Scott, Scott, do not flirt with Jenny. Okay,
- 56:02Speaker 1: this is our god.
- 56:03Speaker 6: She's there, got all the flags behind her. She looks fantastic.
- 56:05Speaker 1: Jenny, are you where are you calling in from?
- 56:08Speaker 5: So?
- 56:08Speaker 2: I live in.
- 56:09Speaker 9: Canberra, Australia. Canberra is the capital city of my fine
- 56:12Speaker 9: country on.
- 56:13Speaker 5: The West coast.
- 56:14Speaker 1: Yes it is Scott. Scott's showing off that he knows
- 56:17Speaker 1: it's on the West Coast.
- 56:18Speaker 5: I lived in Australia. Jenny, I know what I'm talking about.
- 56:21Speaker 2: Wait, when did you live in Australia as a kid.
- 56:24Speaker 5: I lived in Sydney for four years and snives Sydney.
- 56:28Speaker 2: Wow.
- 56:28Speaker 1: Is it near? Is it near Perth?
- 56:32Speaker 5: No?
- 56:32Speaker 2: Okay Jesus, but it's near Melbourne.
- 56:36Speaker 5: No.
- 56:36Speaker 6: Well, Sitney is near Melbourne closer, but.
- 56:38Speaker 1: No, it's on the west coast of Australia. This is
- 56:40Speaker 1: so embarrassing to I want. I want everyone to know
- 56:43Speaker 1: that the American public school system spends very little time
- 56:45Speaker 1: on geography. I think it was like two weeks in
- 56:47Speaker 1: seventh grade or Australia. Yes, yes, Jenny, thank you for
- 56:55Speaker 1: coming on the show. Do you have a question for
- 56:57Speaker 1: for any of us? You can ask us anything, ask
- 56:59Speaker 1: us anything. Yeah.
- 57:01Speaker 9: I just wanted to say I started watching your show
- 57:05Speaker 9: when I was in my early twenties, like you guys were,
- 57:08Speaker 9: and it really resonated with me. Then I just started
- 57:11Speaker 9: my career. I had a mentor you know, learning to
- 57:15Speaker 9: do things on your own without a safety net. And
- 57:18Speaker 9: then I watched the series again a few years later
- 57:21Speaker 9: when I had my children and they were babies and
- 57:23Speaker 9: I was up at the night, I put it on
- 57:25Speaker 9: and certain episodes resonated in a different way because I
- 57:29Speaker 9: was a parent and researched every school holidays and there's
- 57:34Speaker 9: something new that pops up that's, you know, based on
- 57:38Speaker 9: an experience that I've just had. It just makes me
- 57:41Speaker 9: think of, you know, something different. So I just wanted
- 57:43Speaker 9: to know, with your experience of the last twenty years,
- 57:48Speaker 9: what advice would you give to your younger selves?
- 57:51Speaker 1: Now, Oh, man, you mean I mean us as real
- 57:55Speaker 1: people are our characters?
- 57:56Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 57:57Speaker 1: No people, oh, real people.
- 58:00Speaker 4: While while making the show, I wish I could have
- 58:02Speaker 4: been more present, you know what I mean. I hate
- 58:04Speaker 4: to jump in front of you, Scott, but I got
- 58:05Speaker 4: to get to this right away.
- 58:07Speaker 2: Yeah, I was so not there.
- 58:12Speaker 4: Let's say, when we were making that, I was very
- 58:15Speaker 4: much worried about being out and about I was more
- 58:20Speaker 4: interested in what came with what came after work than
- 58:24Speaker 4: what came with work back when we were making Scrubs,
- 58:27Speaker 4: And I wish I could have been more present at
- 58:31Speaker 4: when it came to doing my job back then. That's
- 58:34Speaker 4: the one thing that I look back and say, you
- 58:36Speaker 4: know what, I know, I know I had fun and
- 58:38Speaker 4: I know I enjoyed myself.
- 58:39Speaker 2: I wish I could have experienced all of that while
- 58:42Speaker 2: making it.
- 58:43Speaker 1: Yeah, my reaction is similar in a sense that you know,
- 58:46Speaker 1: I think we took it for granted that this would
- 58:48Speaker 1: happen all the time. That is to say that, you know,
- 58:51Speaker 1: we've spoken this on other podcasts before, that these really
- 58:54Speaker 1: special friendships would would be on every job we did.
- 58:58Speaker 3: And and.
- 59:00Speaker 1: I think, and we've discussed before, you know how we've
- 59:04Speaker 1: all gone on and done these other jobs, and some
- 59:06Speaker 1: are successful, some er not, but still to this day,
- 59:10Speaker 1: the bond that we all had that comes across on
- 59:13Speaker 1: the screen. I think it's the reason people really. One
- 59:15Speaker 1: of the reasons, of course, the writing first and foremost,
- 59:18Speaker 1: but another reason was that the love that you see
- 59:21Speaker 1: between these characters was real.
- 59:23Speaker 2: It was.
- 59:25Speaker 1: We're watching people who genuinely cared as much about each
- 59:29Speaker 1: other in real life as they did as the characters
- 59:32Speaker 1: did on screen. So I think that I think I
- 59:35Speaker 1: took that for granted. I was a young actor. This
- 59:37Speaker 1: is my first big job, and I thought, oh, this
- 59:40Speaker 1: is what it's always like to be on a set.
- 59:42Speaker 1: Everyone loves each other, everyone wants to hang out on
- 59:45Speaker 1: weekends even after we've worked all these days, and oh
- 59:47Speaker 1: my god, the scripts are always hilarious, and it took
- 59:51Speaker 1: so many years to be like, oh no, this is
- 59:53Speaker 1: a diamond in the rough. Not only the writing staff
- 59:57Speaker 1: that Bill assembled was just the dream team. I mean
- 59:59Speaker 1: they've all gone off to be usually successful on their
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: own right, but but also just the bond that that
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: the seven main characters of Us had was something I
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: haven't really ever seen again, whether I'm an actor or
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: a director. It's just it was just so rare. So
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: that's what I think too. It's a similar answer to Donald.
- 1:00:19Speaker 4: Now Scott's been on three, in my opinion, three very
- 1:00:23Speaker 4: successful shows.
- 1:00:24Speaker 2: I'm interested to hear how he might not.
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: He might not have an answer related to ours though.
- 1:00:29Speaker 2: Not to ours. But yeah, but I'm interested in hearing
- 1:00:32Speaker 2: if it was like that for each one of those successes,
- 1:00:35Speaker 2: you know what I mean, Like Felicity, you know.
- 1:00:38Speaker 5: I think, just directly answering your question, I think I
- 1:00:42Speaker 5: for me, looking back, if I had to do it again,
- 1:00:45Speaker 5: I would I would try to relax. I think I
- 1:00:48Speaker 5: was holding on really tight. It was very important to me.
- 1:00:50Speaker 5: I didn't I didn't go to college, I didn't want
- 1:00:52Speaker 5: to do anything else. This was my only shot.
- 1:00:54Speaker 6: Really, like if I wasn't going to be a working actor.
- 1:00:59Speaker 5: Be digging holes. You know, I don't know what else
- 1:01:01Speaker 5: I'd do, So I was. I was really uptight and
- 1:01:04Speaker 5: nervous about making sure I got it right and and
- 1:01:07Speaker 5: really focused on work.
- 1:01:08Speaker 6: And I think, I, uh, if I had to do
- 1:01:11Speaker 6: it again, I'd take a breather and be more like Donald,
- 1:01:16Speaker 6: but not not that far.
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: Not that far, but you know what I mean, Like
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: we were.
- 1:01:22Speaker 5: I was young and wanted to be successful and was
- 1:01:24Speaker 5: working towards a goal. But you know, at a certain
- 1:01:27Speaker 5: point you got to sort of stop and smell the
- 1:01:29Speaker 5: flowers too.
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: Did you guys all get along on Scandal?
- 1:01:32Speaker 5: We did? You know?
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: I was hoping that I was hoping to get some
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: clickbait going, here's gotting?
- 1:01:36Speaker 6: No, man, I've been I was looking for ever since
- 1:01:40Speaker 6: I'd done Scrubs.
- 1:01:41Speaker 5: I was looking for a show that had a similar vibe,
- 1:01:44Speaker 5: a similar friendship, not just in front of the camera
- 1:01:47Speaker 5: but behind it. And I found it on Scandal, and
- 1:01:49Speaker 5: we still keep in touch. I get texts where I
- 1:01:51Speaker 5: have a group chain, group text chain, I get something
- 1:01:55Speaker 5: multiple things daily.
- 1:01:56Speaker 6: Uh, we vacation together?
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: Could I join that?
- 1:02:00Speaker 8: Texts?
- 1:02:00Speaker 6: Scott, if you have something to offer, I'd love.
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: Do you know I have a long history with Tony
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: Goldman and I know you do, yes, And I'm I
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: love that man a lot, and he directed a movie
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: I was in called The Last Kiss, and we've stayed
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: friendly over the years, and I just think he's a
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: very very special human being. I wish he was the
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: real present.
- 1:02:21Speaker 5: I wish he was the real I think we all
- 1:02:24Speaker 5: wish someone else was the real president right now. Sorry, Jenny,
- 1:02:27Speaker 5: that's not what you're right, that's what you're getting.
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: You don't have to bring an Australian into our political situation. Jenny,
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: Do you have another question for any of us?
- 1:02:37Speaker 9: Yes, I do, because I want to look at for
- 1:02:39Speaker 9: my fellow Australians. I just want to ask, why do
- 1:02:42Speaker 9: you think doctor Cox takes two Jackman?
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: You know, this is a question that's been asked so
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: often and we never answered it. I think we're going
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: to throw it to Bill. But my theory is that Cox,
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: who was such an alpha competitive guy, was jealous because
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: at the time Hugh Jackman when we were making the show.
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: It was right at the time with Hugh Jackman exploding
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: and becoming a megastar who was not just your average megastar.
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: He was doing everything. He could see it.
- 1:03:12Speaker 2: Everything he could see it.
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: He could dance, he could host award shows, he could
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: be an action star, he could be a dramatic star.
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: He was you know, it was he was everywhere and
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: he was doing everything, and everyone liked him. It wasn't
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: like you know, a lot of stars become polarizing. He
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: wasn't everybody. Everybody loved him.
- 1:03:27Speaker 4: This dude could this dude could host the Tony's and
- 1:03:29Speaker 4: then stamp somebody up as Wolverine Man.
- 1:03:32Speaker 2: It was like it was like just one eight.
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: So I think, Jenny, that's my guess is that Cox
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: was the character of Cox was jealous of this handsome,
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: you know, muscular man who could do anything and everything
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: and people just loved him and adored him, and so
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: he was jealous of him. But let's ask Bill. That's
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: a good ask Bill, Bill. The fans have been asking
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: for many years, and now a very nice woman from
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: Australia has asked, and we just have to get the answer.
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: Why does doctor Cox hate Hugh Jackman so much? Look,
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: we love Hugh Jackman.
- 1:04:06Speaker 10: When we were trying to come up with who doctor
- 1:04:08Speaker 10: Cox hated, for no reason. I think we thought it
- 1:04:11Speaker 10: was important that we came up with somebody that everybody
- 1:04:13Speaker 10: loved and that could do everything. I mean, who has
- 1:04:15Speaker 10: anything against Hugh Jackman. He's Wolverine. You know, he's in
- 1:04:19Speaker 10: action movies.
- 1:04:20Speaker 5: He's apparently a lovely guy.
- 1:04:23Speaker 10: He's handsome, he's like People Magazine's sexiest person. He can sing,
- 1:04:28Speaker 10: he can dance, you know, five six seven eight, slaid
- 1:04:32Speaker 10: that one in, he starred in the music Man on Broadway,
- 1:04:36Speaker 10: and that Peter Allen thing. He's just too damn talented.
- 1:04:42Speaker 10: My buddy Scott Foley, is there, Scott, torture them, Jenny.
- 1:04:46Speaker 2: I hope that worked for you.
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: Yes, five six seven eight? No, no, no, no, you
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: know what, most people only Bill usually gets the song
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: when he says it. But because Scott so darn charming,
- 1:05:01Speaker 1: Dan hit the button again.
- 1:05:04Speaker 2: He couldn't control them.
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: Let me, let me control my own tiny little universe.
- 1:05:11Speaker 2: Please, Jimmy, I'm going to give you one more question.
- 1:05:17Speaker 8: The third question.
- 1:05:19Speaker 5: Uh yeah, yeah.
- 1:05:20Speaker 9: My other question was was your proudest moment from being
- 1:05:24Speaker 9: on the show your performance?
- 1:05:27Speaker 4: Oh wow, I really enjoyed doing the musical theater. Uh,
- 1:05:31Speaker 4: the the musical episode. I had a lot of fun
- 1:05:34Speaker 4: doing that. Growing up, I did a lot of musical theater,
- 1:05:37Speaker 4: but not at that scope or that level, and a
- 1:05:39Speaker 4: lot of the people that you know, we're in scrubs
- 1:05:43Speaker 4: the musical I saw later on in La La Land
- 1:05:46Speaker 4: or whatever, and that made me feel really good, Like,
- 1:05:49Speaker 4: you know, I danced with some of the some of
- 1:05:52Speaker 4: LA's best dancers and stuff like that, and got to
- 1:05:55Speaker 4: perform with some of LA's best and you know, as
- 1:05:59Speaker 4: you know, anybody comes here to make it in the industry,
- 1:06:04Speaker 4: and it felt good to be amongst Hollywood's elite dancers
- 1:06:07Speaker 4: and being able to dance with them.
- 1:06:08Speaker 2: I really enjoyed that. I'm very proud that.
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: I was going to do that. Yeah, I think I'm
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: proud of that episode too, and also I'm really proud
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: of you know, it was a really underappreciated I think,
- 1:06:18Speaker 1: but we did this sort of Princess Briane homage episode
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: that was the fantasies and sort of a medieval thing,
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: and it kind of it was I believe it was
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: during the rer Strike season and the season ended early
- 1:06:34Speaker 1: and we didn't know if the show was coming back,
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: and it was. It was sort of presented as the
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: season finale and possibly a series finale, because no one
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: knew if we were coming back, and so it kind
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: of got treated like, oh, what does that have to
- 1:06:47Speaker 1: do with Scrubs or ending the show? And but I
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: really am proud of the directing work I did on it,
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: and uh, and I think it looks really pretty and
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: and it was a huge scale for for some sales.
- 1:07:00Speaker 2: Scope was huge.
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: Yeah, it was. It was big, and we spent a
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: lot of money and I think it looked like it
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: and a lot of people worked very hard on it.
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: And then it sort of got underappreciated because people were like,
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: please tell me, that's not the series finale, and I
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: was like, no one meant that that was the series finale.
- 1:07:14Speaker 1: But I thought that was good.
- 1:07:16Speaker 9: Yeah, I loved that episode.
- 1:07:18Speaker 1: I remember, thank you, thank you, Jenny. All Right, we
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: have to move on, but thank you so much for
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: coming on the show, Scott, do you want to say
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: anything Jenny thank her for coming on.
- 1:07:27Speaker 5: I'd like to thank you for coming on the show too, Jenny.
- 1:07:29Speaker 5: I hope forgive me for getting into this, but I
- 1:07:33Speaker 5: hope everything's everyone's okay now that you guys have those
- 1:07:36Speaker 5: terrible fires, and we were all sort of thinking about
- 1:07:38Speaker 5: you over over on the side of the world.
- 1:07:40Speaker 6: So I'm glad you guys are better.
- 1:07:43Speaker 9: Yeah, it's been a big, very difficult year, but yeah,
- 1:07:45Speaker 9: we're all getting there.
- 1:07:47Speaker 1: Scott's message was nicer than mine, so I would like
- 1:07:49Speaker 1: to say that I hope everything's okay.
- 1:07:52Speaker 2: Nobody cares.
- 1:07:54Speaker 5: Nobody cares.
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: That's what we call a callback choke. Everybody, all right?
- 1:07:58Speaker 8: Thank you?
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: Jenny, Thanks on.
- 1:08:00Speaker 5: Yah, thanks so much. Very sweet, very very sweet.
- 1:08:07Speaker 2: Yo.
- 1:08:07Speaker 8: J D is a rat.
- 1:08:08Speaker 2: Hold up, let's get into this. JD is a little beach.
- 1:08:14Speaker 8: He's a rat.
- 1:08:15Speaker 2: He is a rat.
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: I tell you though, how funny is that fantasy with
- 1:08:19Speaker 1: me on Johnny's lap?
- 1:08:21Speaker 2: It's but you are a blue hat.
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: He goes, Who's he goes, who's my big boy?
- 1:08:27Speaker 9: Hi?
- 1:08:28Speaker 8: Yeah?
- 1:08:30Speaker 1: That was great.
- 1:08:32Speaker 2: I love that. I love that.
- 1:08:33Speaker 4: They show you the two the two sides of you know,
- 1:08:37Speaker 4: when something bad happens, they show you the two sides.
- 1:08:39Speaker 4: They show you the one that runs right to the
- 1:08:42Speaker 4: principle and it's like and and cries to the principal,
- 1:08:45Speaker 4: oh my god, and he did this. And then they
- 1:08:47Speaker 4: show the other person who runs to the principal and
- 1:08:50Speaker 4: freaking tells the principal off.
- 1:08:52Speaker 2: John C's character. Cox is the dad that.
- 1:08:55Speaker 4: Goes to the school and beats up the bully for
- 1:08:57Speaker 4: fucking with his kid. You know what I mean, twelve
- 1:09:00Speaker 4: year old boy fucking with his son. Oh, you're gonna
- 1:09:02Speaker 4: touch my son like that? How about this? Go tell
- 1:09:05Speaker 4: your dad, don't tell your dad that doctor Cox smack
- 1:09:08Speaker 4: the shit out of you.
- 1:09:09Speaker 2: And it goes, it goes south.
- 1:09:11Speaker 4: But it was very interesting to watch the two dynamics,
- 1:09:15Speaker 4: like one guy, one guy is a complete rat.
- 1:09:20Speaker 2: Yeah, and the o's funny.
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: I didn't even see that. I didn't even see that
- 1:09:23Speaker 1: interpretation of it. But that's smart that that is exactly
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: what happens. It's it's the two sides of a coin
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: of how you deal with the situation.
- 1:09:29Speaker 2: Yeah, anyway, why.
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: Would why would Turk even promise to side with me?
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: I mean, he's a really good doctor. We know that
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: he's not gonna go not not It's almost ridiculous that
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: he would even say, Yeah, don't worry, ILL back you up.
- 1:09:40Speaker 1: He's gonna come in and give his honest analysis.
- 1:09:42Speaker 2: Right. Well, I think he was.
- 1:09:45Speaker 4: I think Turk was trusting, Uh, the fact that you
- 1:09:48Speaker 4: had done your job and you know, you were literally
- 1:09:52Speaker 4: calling him in for a faber. Yo, just just tell
- 1:09:55Speaker 4: this dude that he doesn't have anything to worry about.
- 1:09:57Speaker 4: And then when Turk looked at it like bulls wait,
- 1:10:01Speaker 4: hold on, hold on, wait right, you gotta you got.
- 1:10:04Speaker 4: I look at it like, you know, if there's any
- 1:10:06Speaker 4: if there's a slight chance that Turk gets the opportunity
- 1:10:09Speaker 4: to operate, he's gonna say, yeah, I'm gonna operate, right.
- 1:10:11Speaker 1: I mean, I think that's the real thing. Obviously taken
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: from Obviously this is all inspired by what we were
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: told by real doctors, that the surgeons are more apt
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: to be like, let's cut him up.
- 1:10:20Speaker 2: Yeah, let's get it out, let's do.
- 1:10:21Speaker 1: It, let's do our let's do our thing. And I
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: love uh at twelve fifteen when when when the janitor
- 1:10:28Speaker 1: is giving my patient advice and he's like, I'm gonna
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: go with surgery, and I go, he's a janitor and
- 1:10:35Speaker 1: he goes, but he seems confident. Again, the guy did
- 1:10:41Speaker 1: not say a.
- 1:10:42Speaker 2: Sentence, but I didn't laugh out loud at he was
- 1:10:44Speaker 2: very funny.
- 1:10:45Speaker 1: How about Sarah all dolled up for Scott Foley at
- 1:10:47Speaker 1: thirteen forty five?
- 1:10:48Speaker 6: Beautiful? How lucky was I in my stupid big overcoat.
- 1:10:51Speaker 6: But your jacket, your.
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: Jacket eleven size is too big?
- 1:10:55Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 1:10:57Speaker 8: Did you not have a fitting?
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: Do you remember?
- 1:10:58Speaker 5: It was like that jacket only the only thing I
- 1:11:02Speaker 5: could talk it up to was that was just the
- 1:11:03Speaker 5: what people were wearing back then.
- 1:11:05Speaker 6: But it seemed really big.
- 1:11:06Speaker 2: That was huge, dude.
- 1:11:08Speaker 5: It was the Harmani baggy look back then.
- 1:11:11Speaker 1: I don't know, do you really think it was style
- 1:11:13Speaker 1: or just fit wrong? Because you're you're you're supposed to
- 1:11:16Speaker 1: be playing this like heart throb, and and there there
- 1:11:19Speaker 1: you are. I mean, you should be looking like in
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: a nice outfit.
- 1:11:22Speaker 6: I have to think it's it was style or else someone.
- 1:11:25Speaker 5: I mean there's you know, no less than three people,
- 1:11:28Speaker 5: but maybe thirty people on set who should be like, hey,
- 1:11:32Speaker 5: he looks really stupid in that.
- 1:11:34Speaker 4: Then it must have been it must have been the
- 1:11:35Speaker 4: st the style, the style, because that jacket would it
- 1:11:39Speaker 4: came down to your knees almost, and.
- 1:11:41Speaker 5: It was huge and it was like a doctor's smock.
- 1:11:45Speaker 6: He's a monster, just ridiculous.
- 1:11:48Speaker 1: Well, I thought Sarah looked h beautiful moment.
- 1:11:53Speaker 2: And then I think she looked beautiful even after her.
- 1:11:56Speaker 1: I know, even with a U. And it was so funny.
- 1:11:58Speaker 1: She's covered with little puke and blood and poop.
- 1:12:01Speaker 5: Yeah, yep, they did a really good job with her.
- 1:12:04Speaker 5: And that was it was.
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: And then you guys filming, you guys, you guys get
- 1:12:07Speaker 1: into that really funny, awkward poop conversation. Yeah, they cut,
- 1:12:11Speaker 1: they cut to Judy. It's so funny because you guys
- 1:12:13Speaker 1: are awkwardly flirting about poop and you cut the Judy's
- 1:12:16Speaker 1: dead pan face.
- 1:12:17Speaker 5: Well then, you know, and then right after that, there's
- 1:12:20Speaker 5: a there's a great moment where the nurse has like,
- 1:12:22Speaker 5: you know, uh, Sarah and Judy are talking. You know,
- 1:12:25Speaker 5: I don't think anybody noticed. It's not a big deal.
- 1:12:27Speaker 6: And then one of the nurses walk by and says, hey, poopy,
- 1:12:30Speaker 6: which I thought.
- 1:12:30Speaker 2: Was just hilarious.
- 1:12:32Speaker 1: Helo, Yes, I'm really I'm really noticing it all these
- 1:12:35Speaker 1: years later that many of Aloma's lines are moving. She's
- 1:12:39Speaker 1: always walking, always on the move, Hey poopy.
- 1:12:44Speaker 6: That we slaugh her into someone else's shot.
- 1:12:46Speaker 4: But that was very funny to you, your whole conversation
- 1:12:48Speaker 4: on how you took a poop not here but not
- 1:12:51Speaker 4: here before but before earlier, I was down there.
- 1:12:57Speaker 5: I think, you know, we we we delve into their
- 1:12:59Speaker 5: relationship for in other episodes, but I think that's really
- 1:13:02Speaker 5: the foundation for them.
- 1:13:04Speaker 6: You know, poop is the foundation. It's a house built
- 1:13:07Speaker 6: on poop.
- 1:13:08Speaker 2: It Well, you know, the relationship didn't last long, and
- 1:13:11Speaker 2: we know poop is not a plot.
- 1:13:12Speaker 5: Founder depends on what you had.
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: They should not have built their house on a foundation
- 1:13:18Speaker 1: of poop. What about fourteen twenty when the jenitmor goes, look,
- 1:13:23Speaker 1: I'm just a jender. I don't know, but I know
- 1:13:25Speaker 1: that you need surgery.
- 1:13:31Speaker 2: How did he get in that room? How he.
- 1:13:35Speaker 5: Was that the was that the beginning of the speech
- 1:13:37Speaker 5: where at the end of it he grabs a newspaper
- 1:13:39Speaker 5: and goes back into the toilet.
- 1:13:41Speaker 2: Uh no, that's a different that's that was geez.
- 1:13:44Speaker 1: That's before he starts going like, that's the that's the
- 1:13:47Speaker 1: last moment with my patient. But then yeah, we then
- 1:13:49Speaker 1: we cut around to him going to all of my
- 1:13:51Speaker 1: patients around the entire hospital telling them they all need surgery.
- 1:13:58Speaker 8: You have ye that.
- 1:14:00Speaker 1: It's hilarious and Neil's so funny.
- 1:14:03Speaker 2: That I'm having surgery right now.
- 1:14:05Speaker 1: Oh that was that was great. I'm having surgery and
- 1:14:09Speaker 1: I'm loving it.
- 1:14:10Speaker 2: And I'm loving it.
- 1:14:12Speaker 6: It's a bizarre infomercial.
- 1:14:13Speaker 8: Man.
- 1:14:13Speaker 1: Then Donald, what do you say, Let's get you out
- 1:14:15Speaker 1: of your skin, skin, Let's cut you out to your skin.
- 1:14:19Speaker 1: I'm having that. Girl did a great job. I'm having
- 1:14:21Speaker 1: surgery right now and loving it.
- 1:14:24Speaker 5: You know, the writers always have always done a good
- 1:14:26Speaker 5: job on this show of finding really subtle gender specific
- 1:14:32Speaker 5: moments that there's something that and I think Bill takes
- 1:14:36Speaker 5: a lot of it from Christa. You know, there's moments
- 1:14:38Speaker 5: where he's like, there was a character at one point
- 1:14:40Speaker 5: in the show, I don't remember what season it was,
- 1:14:42Speaker 5: but a woman talks about chewing on her thumbnail until
- 1:14:44Speaker 5: it bleeds at the side of her thumbtail bleeds, which
- 1:14:46Speaker 5: is a very specific sort.
- 1:14:48Speaker 6: Of woman thing.
- 1:14:49Speaker 5: And there was a moment in here where Judy says,
- 1:14:52Speaker 5: you know, I'm not sure there's a cat heaven, like
- 1:14:54Speaker 5: I don't tell Church. I sometimes cry becase I'm not
- 1:14:56Speaker 5: sure there's a cat heaven. Like I thought that was
- 1:14:58Speaker 5: a genius, really subtle gender specific moment by the real
- 1:15:03Speaker 5: this period of.
- 1:15:04Speaker 1: What you're saying, Scott. Then they cut to Sarah and
- 1:15:06Speaker 1: the looks on her face is like, there's no cat heaven.
- 1:15:10Speaker 2: What do you mean there's no cat heaven.
- 1:15:13Speaker 1: It's a really really it's a really subtle moment, but
- 1:15:15Speaker 1: they cut to Sarah's face as though she's just heard,
- 1:15:18Speaker 1: like for the first time there's no cat heaven, like
- 1:15:20Speaker 1: she's just had Santa Claus.
- 1:15:21Speaker 8: Room for her.
- 1:15:22Speaker 5: I thought it was great, man, I thought it was
- 1:15:25Speaker 5: really smart, and Judi delivered it beautifully. The amount of
- 1:15:30Speaker 5: times I'll run into my wife and be like, Hey,
- 1:15:32Speaker 5: why are you crying, She's like, never mind, and you
- 1:15:34Speaker 5: know it's because she's not sure if there's a cat heaven.
- 1:15:36Speaker 2: Something ridiculous like that.
- 1:15:39Speaker 1: At seventeen twenty one, Sarah bumps into Colonel Doctor and
- 1:15:43Speaker 1: I just was exciting because you know, Colonel Doctor didn't
- 1:15:45Speaker 1: always get a lot of foreground time, but he got
- 1:15:48Speaker 1: a little foreground moment Coleman's Law.
- 1:15:52Speaker 2: I didn't I didn't even see that. That went completely
- 1:15:54Speaker 2: over my head. I missed that.
- 1:15:56Speaker 1: Yeah, it's even in the Scrubs wiki, and I love
- 1:15:59Speaker 1: about We call him Colonel Doctor because that's what we
- 1:16:01Speaker 1: thought his name was, but because it's eventually revealed that
- 1:16:05Speaker 1: his name is Coleman's Law. It says in the Scrubs Wiki,
- 1:16:09Speaker 1: like Sarah bumps into Coleman's Law.
- 1:16:18Speaker 8: The Scrubs Wiggy, the Scrubs Maggie is so is.
- 1:16:21Speaker 1: So accurate that they call Colonel doctor coleman slaws law.
- 1:16:25Speaker 5: That's awesome.
- 1:16:27Speaker 1: At twenty thirty five, the patient in bed is Richard Wells. Yes,
- 1:16:34Speaker 1: are very He was our best first AD.
- 1:16:37Speaker 2: First AD and UPM.
- 1:16:39Speaker 4: Also he went on to be r U p M
- 1:16:41Speaker 4: later on when Scott Harris and uh, that's right, Franklin
- 1:16:46Speaker 4: got better to we should.
- 1:16:47Speaker 1: Say for those for those of you who don't know,
- 1:16:49Speaker 1: a first AD, a first assistant director is the man
- 1:16:52Speaker 1: or woman who was sort of running the set making
- 1:16:55Speaker 1: sort of the one calling out saying, okay, here we go,
- 1:16:57Speaker 1: we gotta move. Really you think of it in theater,
- 1:17:00Speaker 1: the stage manager but keeping everyone moving along uh and uh,
- 1:17:04Speaker 1: and sort of the team leader. So the director can
- 1:17:07Speaker 1: ideally focus on the creative aspects of things.
- 1:17:09Speaker 2: Well, the first idea is usually the bad guy. Let's
- 1:17:11Speaker 2: just put it that way.
- 1:17:12Speaker 4: The first idea is the one that you come to
- 1:17:14Speaker 4: with all the problems you don't necessarily gore.
- 1:17:17Speaker 1: Yes, well, Richard Wells was so great at his job,
- 1:17:20Speaker 1: and one of the best first ads I've ever worked with.
- 1:17:22Speaker 1: And and I forgot that he did a cameo and
- 1:17:25Speaker 1: here he is as one of my patients that finally
- 1:17:28Speaker 1: finally says he'll he'll go the medical route, solely because
- 1:17:31Speaker 1: the janitor has told him so at the end of
- 1:17:34Speaker 1: the episode.
- 1:17:35Speaker 4: Also, also, Richard Wells directed a few episodes of Scrubs. Also, uh,
- 1:17:41Speaker 4: he did a lot on the show. He wasn't just
- 1:17:43Speaker 4: the ad.
- 1:17:44Speaker 1: Yeah. I was bummed though when he when he decided
- 1:17:47Speaker 1: to become a UPM and he was no longer on set, because.
- 1:17:50Speaker 2: Can I ask you a question, Yes, what is a UPM?
- 1:17:53Speaker 1: A UPM is a production manager unit production manager, handling
- 1:17:57Speaker 1: the organization of everything the un up If you need
- 1:17:59Speaker 1: a crane, the UPM is the one often calling the
- 1:18:02Speaker 1: rental house and saying, we need a crane on Tuesday.
- 1:18:05Speaker 1: Who's bringing it? Timmy and John the line producer kind
- 1:18:08Speaker 1: of underneath the line producer, organizing anything and everything that
- 1:18:13Speaker 1: the nuts and bolts of a production. Scott, you switched
- 1:18:16Speaker 1: to eating, I see.
- 1:18:17Speaker 5: Well, I switched to my damn things runn out of
- 1:18:19Speaker 5: batteries and I can't hear a fucking thing now.
- 1:18:21Speaker 6: But yeah, it's my anniversary.
- 1:18:22Speaker 5: So my wife made me these things, and I got
- 1:18:24Speaker 5: to eat him before I come out of my closet,
- 1:18:25Speaker 5: unless she's gonna say, like.
- 1:18:27Speaker 6: Why didn't you eat the cookie I made you?
- 1:18:28Speaker 1: Oh?
- 1:18:29Speaker 6: Sorry?
- 1:18:29Speaker 1: How many years? How many?
- 1:18:32Speaker 6: Thanks so much?
- 1:18:33Speaker 5: Thirteen years?
- 1:18:34Speaker 2: Oh my good thirteen years. Wow?
- 1:18:36Speaker 6: Yeah, wow, yeah, sorry, that's great. And I was excited.
- 1:18:41Speaker 5: You know, I thought I could just listen to your
- 1:18:42Speaker 5: explanation of line producer versus UPM and no one would notice.
- 1:18:46Speaker 6: But I forgot that.
- 1:18:46Speaker 1: I'm sure everyone tuned out when I started describing a UPM.
- 1:18:49Speaker 1: All right, listen, we did it as uh as Howard
- 1:18:53Speaker 1: Stern says, we've said it all. This has been really fun, Scott.
- 1:18:58Speaker 1: Did you have a good time.
- 1:18:59Speaker 5: I loved being here.
- 1:19:00Speaker 6: I love seeing your faces. Uh, you know, we haven't.
- 1:19:02Speaker 5: We haven't had the chance to see too many people recently,
- 1:19:04Speaker 5: so it meant a lot to me, and it uh,
- 1:19:07Speaker 5: it has meant a lot to me to be a
- 1:19:08Speaker 5: bit a part of this have been a part of
- 1:19:10Speaker 5: this show. I look back fondly on it and consider
- 1:19:13Speaker 5: both of you good friends of mine. So I appreciate
- 1:19:15Speaker 5: you having me on.
- 1:19:16Speaker 1: Well we miss you, dude.
- 1:19:19Speaker 2: I gotta thank you.
- 1:19:20Speaker 4: Yeah, I miss you man I I uh, I gotta
- 1:19:22Speaker 4: tell you. You know, we talk about it all the time.
- 1:19:24Speaker 4: I ran in the chip at vote voting, Uh, Jeff
- 1:19:28Speaker 4: bur Yeah and uh and I was like, you know,
- 1:19:32Speaker 4: we gotta we gotta get together again. This was I
- 1:19:35Speaker 4: thought this was back when we thought this pandemic would
- 1:19:37Speaker 4: last about a month and a half.
- 1:19:39Speaker 2: And it's uh. You know, I'd love to get out
- 1:19:42Speaker 2: and play golf with you again once this is all
- 1:19:43Speaker 2: said and done. Many we'll find the.
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: Time to watch. I'd love to watch you defeat Bill
- 1:19:49Speaker 1: and tennis if possible.
- 1:19:51Speaker 6: Well, if we'll find out when he's injured, and then
- 1:19:53Speaker 6: we'll go out and play.
- 1:19:54Speaker 1: Because I can't. Because I can't beat Bill in any sports.
- 1:19:57Speaker 1: I often try and find people that can beat him
- 1:19:59Speaker 1: so I can just watch.
- 1:20:03Speaker 5: I'm game. Hey, you know I wanted to talk about
- 1:20:05Speaker 5: and I don't know if you remember this before we go.
- 1:20:08Speaker 5: You know, Donald and I have had the chance to
- 1:20:09Speaker 5: work together, not just on a bunch of things, but
- 1:20:12Speaker 5: you and I aside from Scrubs, and this is something
- 1:20:15Speaker 5: I regret very much after doing. I don't know, however,
- 1:20:18Speaker 5: I met two or three episodes in the first season.
- 1:20:21Speaker 5: You wrote a short film about.
- 1:20:24Speaker 1: Robots, maybe probably I love robots.
- 1:20:27Speaker 5: And you sent me the script and I was busy
- 1:20:31Speaker 5: doing something else, so I couldn't do it. But I've
- 1:20:32Speaker 5: always regretted not being able to work with you as
- 1:20:35Speaker 5: a director on something you wrote, and that was that.
- 1:20:38Speaker 6: There's still something I look back on. I totally remember it.
- 1:20:40Speaker 1: It was a I can't remember that. I vaguely remember
- 1:20:42Speaker 1: it too. I was trying to start directing things because
- 1:20:46Speaker 1: I had gone to film school and I was and
- 1:20:48Speaker 1: I was doing scrubs and it was so amazing. But
- 1:20:50Speaker 1: of course in my mind as a as a young
- 1:20:52Speaker 1: go getter, was thinking I gotta start making stuff. And
- 1:20:55Speaker 1: I wrote that a wacky short, and I asked you
- 1:20:57Speaker 1: to be in it. But thank you for almost saying yes. Yeah.
- 1:21:00Speaker 5: I absolutely would have said yes if I wasn't able to.
- 1:21:02Speaker 5: But I look, I love both you guys, and we'll
- 1:21:05Speaker 5: hopefully work with you until we die on different things.
- 1:21:09Speaker 1: I mean a really cool short film recently Scott that
- 1:21:12Speaker 1: you should check out. It's called In the Time It
- 1:21:14Speaker 1: Takes to Get There. And I guess I've taken this
- 1:21:17Speaker 1: opportunity to give a shout out to that short. So
- 1:21:19Speaker 1: if you're listening to this, check it out.
- 1:21:21Speaker 6: It's got in the time it takes to get there.
- 1:21:23Speaker 1: Yeah, it's got Alisa Silverstone, Donald's old co star, and
- 1:21:28Speaker 1: it's got Florence Pugh, the very exciting young actress Oscar nominee,
- 1:21:34Speaker 1: and it's really good and it's on YouTube and you
- 1:21:36Speaker 1: can go watch it. It was Adobe had this contest
- 1:21:40Speaker 1: where people college kids could design a movie poster, and
- 1:21:43Speaker 1: the winning movie poster design using photoshop. The prize was
- 1:21:47Speaker 1: that I would write and direct a short film inspired
- 1:21:50Speaker 1: by the movie poster.
- 1:21:52Speaker 5: Oh yes, you know, I saw an article about that.
- 1:21:54Speaker 5: Anytime I see you guys' names in any sort of press,
- 1:21:57Speaker 5: I check it out. And I saw an article about this,
- 1:21:59Speaker 5: so I will definitely check it.
- 1:22:00Speaker 1: Check it out. I recently want a webby for it,
- 1:22:02Speaker 1: which is a which is a cool web award. But
- 1:22:05Speaker 1: check it out.
- 1:22:06Speaker 2: Nobody cares, Zach, Oh my god.
- 1:22:09Speaker 5: Yeah, anybody could see Donald's face when he says that
- 1:22:13Speaker 5: right now, I wish his hands on his head.
- 1:22:15Speaker 1: I wish everyone could see my face right now, because
- 1:22:19Speaker 1: I've successfully feel sad.
- 1:22:24Speaker 6: You're not, but you look like you're sitting underneath it.
- 1:22:26Speaker 1: The way I want you to know that I knew
- 1:22:27Speaker 1: everybody listening would be like, oh, I can't wait for
- 1:22:31Speaker 1: him to say nobody cares Sean. I'm the only one
- 1:22:33Speaker 1: in this You've said it multiple times, Donald Has, I'm
- 1:22:35Speaker 1: the only one who never said.
- 1:22:37Speaker 2: Those nobody cares Zach Well.
- 1:22:39Speaker 5: The problem is you said them to begin with, and
- 1:22:42Speaker 5: not a day goes by where someone either personally or
- 1:22:46Speaker 5: on social media doesn't comment or say nobody. I mean,
- 1:22:49Speaker 5: I could say happy birthday to my lovely wife of
- 1:22:52Speaker 5: thirteen years or happy anniversary of thirteen years, and I'll
- 1:22:55Speaker 5: get six nobody cares Sean's well, and it makes me
- 1:23:01Speaker 5: equally happy and fucking irate.
- 1:23:03Speaker 1: All Right, I get it, man. Well, listen, we have
- 1:23:06Speaker 1: Bill was saying five six seven eight on this podcast,
- 1:23:07Speaker 1: and I post something on on Instagram and every other
- 1:23:10Speaker 1: comment is five to six seven eight.
- 1:23:11Speaker 5: Well, I mean you were You texted me are you
- 1:23:14Speaker 5: ready to come on? And I think I just wrote
- 1:23:15Speaker 5: back five six seven eight and your response was like, yeah, Okay,
- 1:23:19Speaker 5: we get it.
- 1:23:21Speaker 1: Listen, guys, you've gone an hour and a half. Uh,
- 1:23:24Speaker 1: this has been amazing. We love the fans, Thank you

- 1:23:41Speaker 1: followers I have.
- 1:23:42Speaker 4: Dude, you have like one million, one point three million Instagram.
- 1:23:47Speaker 2: Yeah you guys, I have six hundred thousand and two.
