- 0:00I am so excited about today's sermon. I've been
- 0:03like feeding off of it personally for weeks now,
- 0:07and I wish you could sometimes see me sermon
- 0:10prepping, because sometimes I just will laugh
- 0:13out loud at delight over something I find in
- 0:15the Word. And this has just been one of those,
- 0:18you know, Preaching is always good, but sometimes
- 0:21it's just like, Lord, that's just going to be
- 0:23fun to preach. I'm going to enjoy preaching that.
- 0:25And that is this sermon today. Psalm 96. I did
- 0:29not intend this to kind of be a setup for Mother's
- 0:32Day, but as I was preparing, it kind of just
- 0:35fell into that. And so it's setting the stage
- 0:38for next week's sermon, What Drives You? So let's
- 0:43go to the actual text is going to be verse 6
- 0:47of Psalm 96. And it says, honor and majesty are
- 0:53before him. Strength and beauty are in his sanctuary.
- 1:01Honor and majesty are before him. Strength and
- 1:04beauty are in his sanctuary. Now, I want to kind
- 1:09of just set the stage for this a little bit before
- 1:12we dive into this chapter. One of my favorite
- 1:17phrases, because it resonates in me with my journey
- 1:23toward heaven, is the principle of true north.
- 1:28And in 1 Thessalonians, we're going to take a
- 1:31few moments to kind of just create some context
- 1:35for the passage. Why it's such an important passage.
- 1:39And in 1 Thessalonians 4 .16, it says, Isn't
- 1:54it an interesting contrast to his first arrival?
- 1:57A dark night with just the angels and the shepherds.
- 2:02Nobody seeing his arrival. His second return
- 2:06is not going to be like that. shall be caught
- 2:16up together with them in the clouds to meet the
- 2:20Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be
- 2:25with the Lord. Therefore, comfort one another
- 2:29with these words. Another version says encourage.
- 2:34Therefore, encourage one another with these words.
- 2:40I think that an interesting statistic. is that
- 2:44of the second coming of Jesus Christ, it is mentioned
- 2:49in the Old Testament, 17 and 17 books. In the
- 2:55New Testament, the second coming of Christ is
- 2:58mentioned in 23 out of the 27 books. It is mentioned
- 3:06300 times in the New Testament. Of the 260 chapters
- 3:13of the New Testament. So what we find is that
- 3:19one out of every 30 verses refers to the second
- 3:24coming of Christ. And I think about how much
- 3:29we talk about it or teach about it in the church
- 3:32today. When it is such a huge emphasis in the
- 3:37New Testament. The second coming of Christ. Encourage
- 3:42one another. Comfort one another with these words.
- 3:46The New Testament people knew what it was to
- 3:49walk through trials and difficulties and persecution.
- 3:52And so continually they're said, hey, he's coming
- 3:56again. Don't be downcast. Lift up your heads.
- 4:01He's coming again. They were constantly, they
- 4:04talked about this all the time. The early church
- 4:07had a huge focus on the return of Christ. And
- 4:12we hesitate around it because it's such a complicated
- 4:15subject. And we may not be able to figure out
- 4:20all the details of what it's going to look like
- 4:24or how it's going to happen. All I know is. Jesus
- 4:29is coming again and we shall forever be with
- 4:33him. So be encouraged this morning in your hardship.
- 4:38I know it's hard. I know it feels exhausting.
- 4:42It will come to an end and you will forever be
- 4:45with Jesus. This is my true north. This is what
- 4:51I align my life to are these kind of passages.
- 4:57That Jesus is going to come back. It's what I
- 5:01align my life to. I align my decisions to. I
- 5:05align my choices to. And so we know he's coming
- 5:12again. We know that it's going to get difficult.
- 5:17And thus we have Psalm 96. Oh, sing to the Lord
- 5:23a new song. Sing to the Lord, all the earth.
- 5:29Sing to the Lord, bless his name. Proclaim the
- 5:34good news of his salvation from day to day. Declare
- 5:41his glory among the nations, his wonders among
- 5:45all peoples. For the Lord is great and greatly
- 5:50to be praised. He is to be feared above all gods.
- 5:55For all the gods of the peoples are idols. But
- 6:01the Lord made the heavens. Honor and majesty
- 6:04are before him. Strength and beauty are in his
- 6:09sanctuary. Give to the Lord, O families of the
- 6:13peoples. Give to the Lord glory and strength.
- 6:17Give to the Lord the glory due his name. Bring
- 6:22an offering and come into his courts. O worship
- 6:26the Lord in the beauty of holiness. Tremble before
- 6:30him, all the earth. Say among the nations, the
- 6:35Lord reigns. The world also is firmly established.
- 6:40It shall not be moved. He shall judge the peoples
- 6:44righteously. Let the heavens rejoice and let
- 6:48the earth be glad. Let the sea roar and all its
- 6:52fullness. Let the field be joyful in all that
- 6:56is in it. Then all the trees of the woods will
- 7:00rejoice before the Lord. For he is coming. For
- 7:05he is coming to judge the earth. He shall judge
- 7:09the world with righteousness and the peoples
- 7:13with his truth. He is coming again. we're going
- 7:21to look here at two views. We're going to take
- 7:25a broad view, and then we're going to take a
- 7:27narrow view. And the broad view, if you think
- 7:33about a broad view, I'm about to leave this afternoon
- 7:36to drive to St. Louis, where I will pick up my
- 7:40grandsons and bring them home. So when I am sitting
- 7:46in my driveway, I'm going to type into Maps,
- 7:50Trader Joe's. Because I will be going to Trader
- 7:54Joe's before I get the grandkids. I'm not sure
- 7:58if I'm more excited over Trader Joe's or the
- 8:02grandkids. No. I'm going to Trader Joe's to buy
- 8:05things for my grandkids so they can eat healthy
- 8:09this week. But what am I doing? I'm typing the
- 8:12address of where I want my journey to go, where
- 8:16I want it to take me. It's a very broad view.
- 8:19It's taking me cross -states to where I want
- 8:25to go. What is interesting about this passage
- 8:29is that this psalm was written, and we find it
- 8:33in one other place in Scripture, and that is
- 8:37in 1 Chronicles 16. And in 1 Chronicles chapter
- 8:4216, this is such a day of rejoicing because King
- 8:46David is bringing the Ark of the Tabernacle,
- 8:49the Ark of the Covenant, into the tabernacle
- 8:52to set it up. And so I'm going to just summarize
- 8:56here. You can read this later. But they brought
- 8:59the Ark of God, represented his presence for
- 9:04the people, and they set it in the midst of the
- 9:07tabernacle that David had erected for it. and
- 9:11they offered burnt offerings and peace offerings
- 9:14before God. And then he distributed to everyone
- 9:18of Israel, both man and woman, a loaf of bread,
- 9:23a piece of meat, and a cake of raisins. It was
- 9:26party time. This was a celebration. The presence
- 9:31of God is here. It says, on that day, David first
- 9:39delivered this psalm into the hand of Asaph and
- 9:43his brethren to thank the Lord. And then it is
- 9:50listed, the whole psalm that we just read. Now,
- 9:54whether David wrote the song for this occasion
- 9:58or whether he did what I do to the worship team,
- 10:03And I will send them on their worship team page
- 10:07songs and say, I need you to learn this because
- 10:10I've got a sermon in mind, right? So whether
- 10:14David was writing it for this or he'd had that
- 10:17in him and he wanted to use it for this occasion,
- 10:20we don't know. But we know that there was something
- 10:23of this psalm that reflected David's heart for
- 10:28this occasion of establishing. the covenant in
- 10:32the tabernacle, the ark. And so our landing spot
- 10:38is verse 6 that we read. Strength and beauty
- 10:42are in the sanctuary. But when we look at this
- 10:48entire passage, we do so with an interesting
- 10:52understanding, because when David was establishing
- 10:56the ark of the covenant in the tabernacle, It
- 10:59was for Israel, wasn't it? It was for his people.
- 11:05And yet what we find in this verse is that there's
- 11:09no limitations in it for just Israel. In fact,
- 11:14if we just, there's kind of three sections of
- 11:17it. There's this proclamation that is beyond
- 11:22Israel and to all people. Sing to the Lord, all
- 11:27the earth. All the earth, not just Israel. Proclaim
- 11:33the news of his salvation. Well, what does that
- 11:38speak to us? If you haven't received his salvation,
- 11:42you can't really proclaim it. And so what I'm
- 11:46hearing in this is that the good news of salvation
- 11:49is not just for Israel. Praise the Lord, all
- 11:55the Gentiles. Right? Declare his glory among
- 12:02the nations. This is why we support missionaries
- 12:06to declare his glory among the nations. This
- 12:11is beyond Israel. His wonders among all people.
- 12:19This is an occasion that is for Israel. It just
- 12:25is so fascinating because we say this all the
- 12:28time. David is continually foreshadowing of the
- 12:31new covenant. There's a call to worship in this
- 12:37passage. A call to worship that goes beyond Israel.
- 12:42We read it, sing to the Lord all the earth. He's
- 12:45calling for worship from not just Israel, but
- 12:50all the earth. Verses 7 through 9, if you reread
- 12:59those, are a clear call of worship of families
- 13:02and the whole earth, not just Israel. And then
- 13:08the reason, he summarizes the reason for all
- 13:11of this, and that is verse 10 through the end.
- 13:16There's great joy in creation because he is coming
- 13:21to judge the world. All peoples, it says. All
- 13:28families, all the earth, he is coming for. And
- 13:33so here we have this occasion that is uniquely
- 13:36for Israel. God was very clear in the old covenant
- 13:42of the separation of those that were not of Israel
- 13:45and Israel. He did not want them intermarrying.
- 13:48He did not want them to bring in the idols of
- 13:51the other nations. And so this occasion was solely
- 13:54for Israel. And yet the psalm that they sang
- 13:58was one that included all of creation. It was
- 14:03a song. Did they have any kind of concept, really,
- 14:08of what it meant for God to come for his people?
- 14:13They had very dark vision for it. And so the
- 14:19whole context of Psalm 96 is the return. He is
- 14:23coming. He is coming to judge the earth. The
- 14:27coming of his kingdom is our destiny. And sometimes
- 14:33we have that as the back thought of our life
- 14:37when he's wanting it to be our true north, our
- 14:40first and foremost. He is coming again. He is
- 14:45returning. His kingdom is our destiny. And so
- 14:50because of where we're headed, the psalmist here
- 14:54is commanding us to do these things, to sing
- 14:58and to declare and to spread the news. It's a
- 15:01very broad view of where we are headed one day.
- 15:08It's a very broad view of when your life is ending,
- 15:11where you will be at the end of your life. If
- 15:17you are passing on before he comes again. It's
- 15:22a very broad view. Now, we want to get a little
- 15:26bit narrow. We want to get a little bit narrow
- 15:29view. See, when I type in my destiny into my
- 15:34Maps app, it's going to just take me straight
- 15:38there, right? But I don't know about you. We
- 15:41are usually in there adding in search for Starbucks.
- 15:49I got to take some side trips. I guarantee you
- 15:53after filling up my vehicle and it being 479
- 15:57yesterday, I will be finding a gas station in
- 16:01Missouri to fill up on, right? And so within
- 16:07my broad view of my destination, there are places
- 16:11along the journey that I've got to stop and fuel
- 16:14up, both me and my vehicle. This is our narrow
- 16:19view. So knowing we need fuel for our journey,
- 16:25we turn our eyes to verse 6. Honor and majesty
- 16:31are before him. Strength and beauty are in his
- 16:38sanctuary. There are two things I know. First
- 16:44thing, growth is dependent upon you. how you
- 16:51grow in your faith in becoming like Christ as
- 16:56a believer. Growth is dependent upon your choice.
- 17:01As a pastor, one of my favorite passages in Acts
- 17:06chapter 2 that says they devoted themselves to
- 17:12the apostles' teaching, to the breaking of bread,
- 17:16and to prayer, and to fellowship to one another.
- 17:20They devoted themselves. Nobody had to do it
- 17:27for them. They devoted themselves. Right? So
- 17:32for so long in this church, I would at potlucks
- 17:35have to go around and be like, oh, you're sitting
- 17:38alone. Come sit over here with them. But I love
- 17:42in this passage of Acts, it says they devoted
- 17:44themselves to fellowship. Because for a long
- 17:48time, we had a large population of introverted
- 17:51people. They devoted themselves. Nobody has to
- 17:57do it for them. The choice is theirs. So I know
- 18:03this about growth. I can't partake of the word
- 18:07for you. I can't be in his presence for you.
- 18:11There's no priest here doing it for you. The
- 18:15choice is yours. They devoted themselves. The
- 18:19second thing that I recognize is that we are
- 18:23an impoverished people. The first beatitude says,
- 18:28blessed are the poor in spirit. So I know the
- 18:34choice of growth is ours, and I also understand
- 18:38there's nothing in me that will cause me to grow.
- 18:42Okay, let me summarize it like this. The choice
- 18:46to stop and get gas is mine, but the fuel does
- 18:52not originate with me. I've got to take what
- 18:56that gas station has to offer to fill up my tank
- 19:02to keep going on the journey. And that's what
- 19:08I think Psalm 96 verse 6 consists of. The fuel
- 19:16that you need to keep going, looking toward his
- 19:21return. We look forward to the return of Christ,
- 19:30but in it we recognize that it is going to be
- 19:33marked by hard times, right? In the word, we
- 19:37hear about wars, rumors of war, all kinds of
- 19:40conflict. And so we recognize that the season
- 19:44of his return is marked by increased darkness.
- 19:50Yet we look toward it with joy, don't we? It's
- 19:53an interesting dynamic that we walk in. And so
- 19:58we recognize that there's trial, that there's
- 20:01difficulty. So we need what Psalm 96 .6 has for
- 20:08us. What will fuel us on our pilgrimage? Strength
- 20:15and beauty, that which was within the sanctuary.
- 20:21Can I just give you some words that make up the
- 20:27word strength and some words that make up the
- 20:31word beauty? It's words like boldness. Words
- 20:41like power. Words like might, strength. How many
- 20:53of you look at your life and say it's full of
- 20:56boldness and power? It's words like majesty,
- 21:05honor, and bravery. Wow. You know, beauty, we
- 21:12often think so much of the outward comeliness
- 21:15of something or someone, which is part of it.
- 21:20But the beauty that is in the sanctuary of the
- 21:23Lord is so much more than that. The beauty and
- 21:27the sanctuary of the Lord make up bravery. I
- 21:37just had to sit on that for a long time. Bravery
- 21:42and honor are in his sanctuary. And so he's writing
- 21:49this psalm, and he's saying, the king is going
- 21:52to come again. He's going to return. And so in
- 21:58the sanctuary, you can find what you need, some
- 22:03power, some might. Some honor, some bravery.
- 22:09How many of you would look at your life and say,
- 22:12I feel brave? I tell you, our kids need bravery
- 22:21for the schools that they are getting. Some of
- 22:25you that are teaching in the schools, you know,
- 22:27you need some bravery in there. It's a hard place
- 22:32for kids. They need what is in the sanctuary
- 22:37of the Lord. Bravery and honor, power and boldness.
- 22:45I just did a podcast where we were talking about
- 22:49the disciples and where they were after the resurrection
- 22:54of Jesus. And on the day of the resurrection,
- 22:59they were locked in a room for fear of the Jews.
- 23:05And that's where Jesus found them and breathed
- 23:08upon them. And after they were filled with the
- 23:13Holy Spirit, they tapped into something, didn't
- 23:16they? And they were no longer, you were not going
- 23:20to find them. When they were imprisoned, they
- 23:23were singing and praying. They were not hiding
- 23:27out in fear for what the Jews could do any longer.
- 23:31They have become people of power, of might, of
- 23:34bravery. And we, no less, have access to that.
- 23:43And so this morning, even as we were singing
- 23:46this morning, we were singing of the sacrifice
- 23:48of Jesus. And the truth is, is that we have access
- 23:54into the sanctuary of his presence. Because Jesus
- 24:00paid a high price for the access. When I stop
- 24:04and put fuel in my vehicle, I am paying a very
- 24:08high price. Man, I'm getting all kinds of amens
- 24:13for the gas prices today. Jesus, no less. He
- 24:22paid a high price. For us to have access to what
- 24:27we need as we await for the return of our king.
- 24:31Praise the Lord. Praise the Lord. Praise the
- 24:36Lord. And so this should affect how I live my
- 24:42life, shouldn't it? It should affect my life
- 24:46when I have access. To the sanctuary of his presence.
- 24:51Where there is strength and beauty for me to
- 24:55partake of. It should affect my life. It should
- 24:58affect how I lead my family. It should affect
- 25:01how I am in the workplace. It should affect how
- 25:04I treat my spouse. It should affect how I treat
- 25:07my kids. It should affect how I treat my body.
- 25:11It should affect how we treat one another. It
- 25:13should affect anything that my hand finds to
- 25:16do. of access into the throne room, into the
- 25:20sanctuary where strength and where beauty are
- 25:25available to me. No excuses. That removes every
- 25:32excuse. There is sufficiency in the sanctuary
- 25:36for what we need. He's given us everything that
- 25:41we need. And sometimes we think that As a believer,
- 25:46I just automatically, I'm going to walk in this,
- 25:49and I don't believe that's true. I don't believe
- 25:52you're automatically going to walk in power and
- 25:54boldness. I don't automatically think you're
- 25:56going to walk in bravery. I think you automatically
- 26:00have access to it. You have access to it. But
- 26:08whether like the gas stations, you keep passing
- 26:11up and passing up and passing up, never stopping
- 26:14to fuel your vehicle. There's no way to access
- 26:19what is in the sanctuary except to get in the
- 26:22sanctuary. There's no way to access it except
- 26:26to get into his presence. Your spouse can't do
- 26:31it for you. Your parents can't do it for you.
- 26:34Your best friend, your pastor can't do it for
- 26:37you. You have to access the sanctuary of his
- 26:40presence yourself. And it is there waiting for
- 26:45you. It is there waiting for you. Beauty, bravery,
- 26:51power, and might are in his sanctuary. And so,
- 27:00You have access to this when you are confronting
- 27:02your hard places, when you're confronting your
- 27:06flesh that wants to do what it wants to do, right?
- 27:10How many just love crucifying the flesh? No,
- 27:14we don't. Very few of us like to fast. Very few
- 27:20of us like to be in silence and to stop moving.
- 27:23Very few of us like the spiritual disciplines
- 27:27because our flesh doesn't like it. Your flesh
- 27:32will not want to be still long enough to access
- 27:36the sanctuary. But we have access in it to confront
- 27:42our battles. I was thinking of this. In worship,
- 27:48I felt the Holy Spirit stirring in me. Some of
- 27:53you have kids that are prodigal kids. And I felt
- 28:00specifically that the Lord wanted to encourage
- 28:03some of you today that have prodigal kids. Often,
- 28:10people that have kids that have chosen to walk
- 28:14away from the Lord. live in very much fear over
- 28:19the state of their kids, of where they'll end
- 28:22up, which is valid, right? A valid concern. And
- 28:29when we let fear in, what that fear does is it
- 28:34renders, it takes away our authority to pray
- 28:38with effectiveness over our kids. And I remember
- 28:44early on in our journey with this, I really felt
- 28:49the Lord, which the Lord has always given me
- 28:52in unique ways, words over my own journey with
- 28:59a kid like this. And in that word, what he imparts,
- 29:07because this is what the word of the Lord does,
- 29:09it imparts faith. and it dispels fear. And I
- 29:14remember at one point the Lord saying, you don't
- 29:17get to determine your kids' journey and what
- 29:21I'm going to do for their life. And sometimes
- 29:24my kids' journeys, in order for them, for God
- 29:28to do what is going to happen in their lives
- 29:31for the good of the kingdom, there's a journey
- 29:33they've got to walk. And for some of you that
- 29:38have that, it requires bravery to face that and
- 29:44to walk that path and not let fear incapacitate
- 29:49you from praying for your kid, for standing in
- 29:52authority over demonic forces over your kid.
- 29:56Because although it's your kid's journey, right,
- 29:58they've been given to us to pray over and to
- 30:02cover. And so specifically this morning, some
- 30:06of you that have kids that are not walking with
- 30:09the Lord, he wants you to access bravery, to
- 30:16not be fearful, to not look. When we get in fear,
- 30:19we begin to imagine where they're going to end
- 30:22up. And instead, to see what God can do and begin
- 30:27to declare that over our kid. Thereby standing
- 30:32in the place of faith. It requires bravery. It
- 30:35is a hard thing to do. It is a hard thing to
- 30:40do. And the only way you can do it with victory
- 30:43is to stay in the sanctuary where strength and
- 30:48beauty reside. Where you have unending access
- 30:51to power and might and bravery. To stand in the
- 30:57place of faith for whatever your battle is. You
- 31:02have access. I was thinking as I was starting
- 31:07this sermon on this phrase, eyes on the road,
- 31:10keep your eyes on the road, right? And when you
- 31:14are teaching, anybody ever had to teach a kid
- 31:16to drive? Yeah, you're about to, Ben, Charlene.
- 31:24David, I think, is in that journey right now.
- 31:28I was so glad to get my fourth one through it.
- 31:30It's like, ah, one more to go. And what you have
- 31:35to teach them is about where they put their eyes.
- 31:40Because to keep your eyes on the road is to keep
- 31:42your eyes down the road, right? Not on the bumper
- 31:46right in front of you. Not on the lines right
- 31:49in front of you. Maintaining 100 % focus ahead
- 31:53of what is coming. keeps you on the road. And
- 31:59see, some of us lose sight of the long road.
- 32:02Some of us lose sight of where our road is leading
- 32:05us. And as soon as we start looking at the bumper
- 32:09in front of us, and that's all we see, we get
- 32:13into trouble. And yet, while our eyes are looking
- 32:18on the road down further, we're also teaching
- 32:21them, but you also got to keep in your peripheral.
- 32:24An eye on, you don't assume that that car is
- 32:27going to stop at the stoplight. You just assume
- 32:30they're going to come straight in and barrel
- 32:32into you. And so we're on this long view of the
- 32:37king coming and all the while we have an enemy
- 32:40that wants to just barrel through the red lights
- 32:42and ram right into you. And so our vision is
- 32:48so important. Keeping our vision ahead to what
- 32:52is to come and yet being mindful of the hazards
- 32:57on the way. Some of us this morning need to refix
- 33:04our eyes on where we're going. You've been overcome.
- 33:09You've been overwhelmed. You've been discouraged.
- 33:13And today, you need to lift up your eyes. For
- 33:17the king is coming. In that verse, it was full
- 33:20of joy. All creation was full of joy because
- 33:24he was returning. The king is coming. They're
- 33:27filled with joy and excitement. The bridegroom
- 33:30is coming. There's excitement in the air. The
- 33:34bridegroom is coming. Right? I see Kenzie back
- 33:38there. No, that's not Kenzie. Kenzie's not here
- 33:41today. Kenzie and Gage are getting married in
- 33:43a couple of weeks. And what is surrounding the
- 33:45wedding? activity, joy, excitement. The king
- 33:50is coming. He's returning. And we see it reflected
- 33:53in Psalm 96. And some of us need to get our eyes
- 33:57back on that. We're off of true north and we
- 34:00need to get realigned with the coming of the
- 34:03king. And to fill up, to quit running on empty,
- 34:10to quit running on empty and to fill up. Yeah,
- 34:15people are going to do you wrong. Yeah, people
- 34:20are going to backstab you. Yeah, people are going
- 34:22to betray you. Yeah, things are going to get
- 34:24hard. But you have access to the strength and
- 34:31the beauty of the sanctuary. And so the team
- 34:35is going to come back this morning. And as we
- 34:38spend a few moments in worship, there are some
- 34:42of us that need to get realigned. with our vision.
- 34:46And there are some of us that need to tap in
- 34:49to what is available to you in the sanctuary.
- 34:53You need a fresh commitment to the sanctuary
- 34:56of his presence marking your life. You need a
- 35:01fresh commitment to quit trying to fuel yourself.
- 35:05You've been living on cheap gas and God wants
- 35:08to give you high quality gas. You laugh and I
- 35:11buy the cheap gas. You do too, confessions. How
- 35:17many are cheap gas buyers? Yeah. And some of
- 35:21you are like, no way am I putting that stuff
- 35:22in my vehicle. That's the way I feel about food
- 35:25in my body. There's no way that junk is coming
- 35:27into my body. Some of us spiritually have been
- 35:32fueling on cheap gas. And there is an abundance
- 35:37in the sanctuary he wants to give to you today.
- 35:42And so this morning, we're going to give you
- 35:44an opportunity. See, it's only 1136. And so for
- 35:50just a few moments, can we just in his presence,
- 35:57the sanctuary of his presence, can we ask for
- 36:02an impartation? Maybe there's a specific thing
- 36:06you need from God today. It's available in his
- 36:10presence. And so the team is going to lead us.
- 36:16And in a moment, if you need to fix your vision,
- 36:20if you need to access and tap into what is in
- 36:23the sanctuary, we just want to make space for
- 36:26you for a few moments. To push everything aside
- 36:30and say, God, my eyes are fixed on where we are
- 36:33going. Your soon and coming return. Would you
- 36:37fuel me today for it? Would you bestow your beauty
- 36:41upon me today? Would you bestow bravery upon
- 36:45me today? Would you bestow your strength, your
- 36:48power, and your might upon me today? And so let's
- 36:53just all stand for a moment in these closing
- 36:55moments. And as we all just worship, I don't
- 37:03want any spectators today because we are here
- 37:05in his presence. And as we all begin to worship
- 37:10the wonderful King Jesus, if you need to, for
- 37:15a moment, make a fresh altar in your life, I
- 37:20want you to just take a step out. And for some
- 37:22of you, just taking that step is a step of bravery.
- 37:28It's uncomfortable for you. But that's okay.
- 37:32There's bravery for you, right? There's strength
- 37:35and boldness for you. And some of you need to
- 37:38get a little bit bold, a little bit more into
- 37:42the might of the Lord and step out in faith and
- 37:46just say, God, I'm coming after you. I'm coming
- 37:49after the sanctuary of your presence. And I want
- 37:54to be filled fresh. I want to feed afresh on
- 37:58what is in the tangible presence of the Lord.
- 38:03Thank you, Lord. Let's just begin to worship
- 38:06for a few moments. And you make your way and
- 38:09find a place to just get into the sanctuary of
- 38:14his presence.
