- 0:50Speaker 1: to be that used to be a thing with somebody
- 0:52Speaker 1: to say my real name. But I mean my fiance
- 0:55Speaker 1: kind of made it a thing. You know, I'm saying fiance.
- 0:59Speaker 1: So you guys are you guys are together? It's not

- 1:21Speaker 1: a special edition of the Ball of Alert show. Mr
- 1:24Speaker 1: Young Jock in the building, Sir, how is it going? Man? Well,
- 1:28Speaker 1: what's up? One? That was good man? Happy to be alive,
- 1:31Speaker 1: happy to see another day. Rather that, Bro, I'm feeling
- 1:34Speaker 1: the brim now. I've been seeing you support these brims often.
- 1:39Speaker 1: Is this? Is this something that belongs to you? I
- 1:42Speaker 1: wish Uh it's not actually us, you know keeping James. Uh,
- 1:48Speaker 1: I got turned on too many years ago and uh
- 1:51Speaker 1: spot early on. And of course you've seen all types
- 1:55Speaker 1: of celebrities. Am you know I'd be sometimes I'll be
- 2:02Speaker 1: ahead of the I'll be ahead of myself. You know
- 2:04Speaker 1: what I'm saying. I ain't scared. I'm new, so you know, Okay, Well,
- 2:09Speaker 1: congratulate the morning showing the success. Man, you were doing
- 2:12Speaker 1: a great job. I'm actually your co worker at Streets
- 2:15Speaker 1: nown four or five. You are actually on from six
- 2:18Speaker 1: a m. To ten am with Miss Shannika, your new
- 2:21Speaker 1: co host. How's that going? Let's go? Actually? Rather well? Man?
- 2:25Speaker 1: Um for one, I just I think, like, you know,
- 2:30Speaker 1: me being an anchor of the show, like I messed
- 2:33Speaker 1: with people. Well, you know what I'm saying, I feel
- 2:36Speaker 1: like I know how to bring out, you know, people personality.
- 2:39Speaker 1: But a lot of times the people that you're put
- 2:42Speaker 1: next to me, they are already ready for the job.
- 2:46Speaker 1: They already T T G. So I ain't really gotta
- 2:47Speaker 1: bring out much. I just you just have to learn
- 2:50Speaker 1: how to you know what I'm saying, co acculate, how
- 2:52Speaker 1: to met schwell, you know what I'm saying. M Before
- 2:57Speaker 1: I let you Octavia chime, man, I do have have
- 3:00Speaker 1: a question for you, because this is just a question. Um,
- 3:03Speaker 1: you know, the morning show market in Atlanta is very competitive, man,
- 3:09Speaker 1: how do you stay shock with that competition? With the
- 3:15Speaker 1: morning show with my brother? Um? You know what, I
- 3:21Speaker 1: don't just go with the narrative, like when I hear something.
- 3:25Speaker 1: You know, it's it's kind of crazy because when we
- 3:27Speaker 1: read something, we instantly either internalize it or rejected, you
- 3:34Speaker 1: know what I'm saying. And I just think sometimes people
- 3:37Speaker 1: have to have a more open minded approach where you're
- 3:40Speaker 1: talking about delivery news and allegations of what may be
- 3:43Speaker 1: going on with people and personal lives and business, And
- 3:46Speaker 1: for me, I don't just jump to it. I try
- 3:48Speaker 1: to instead of saying, oh what if public opinion is
- 3:51Speaker 1: going that direction and that's the direction I'm gonna go.
- 3:55Speaker 1: A lot of people have told me, always go with
- 3:57Speaker 1: public opinion, but sometimes I just I just rarely give
- 4:01Speaker 1: my perspective and I think it puts me in a
- 4:04Speaker 1: more genuine space and it allows people to know who
- 4:07Speaker 1: I am. I learn who I for sure. Man, I
- 4:11Speaker 1: want to take it to uh love and hip hop.
- 4:13Speaker 1: Now it came on last night. How was it filming
- 4:17Speaker 1: during this pandemic? For you? It was a lit Man.
- 4:20Speaker 1: I ain't even allow of you. I ain't gonna hold
- 4:22Speaker 1: you because you know, um, approaching my ninth season with
- 4:30Speaker 1: this franchise, you know you kind of you kind of
- 4:33Speaker 1: know the ends and outs of it. Um, you become
- 4:37Speaker 1: very familiar with the protocols and whatnot. And I mean,
- 4:42Speaker 1: this whole pandemic, things have been definitely different. So to
- 4:47Speaker 1: film for that show, I probably was tested about eight
- 4:51Speaker 1: times for COVID so before we could even And I'm
- 4:55Speaker 1: just giving you just the the gist of it from
- 4:59Speaker 1: this point of view, as far as making a job
- 5:01Speaker 1: a bit more difficult, Um, you know, imagine someone coming
- 5:06Speaker 1: to your home, complete strangers, they spraying in your house.
- 5:10Speaker 1: Before they even come in, they get tested, They got
- 5:13Speaker 1: to be clear before they could even come in. Your house.
- 5:15Speaker 1: Your house got to be they can walk in your house,
- 5:18Speaker 1: they test you. When they leave, somebody to come back
- 5:20Speaker 1: in and spraying the house. Then we have to wait
- 5:22Speaker 1: for our results. Once we get our results, then we
- 5:24Speaker 1: have to while we were home, um, you know, we
- 5:29Speaker 1: had to stay in of course, and then once I
- 5:33Speaker 1: flew to two sons, I then had to quarantine for
- 5:37Speaker 1: secondly two hours alone. Um, and that was really that
- 5:42Speaker 1: was really interesting, you know what I'm saying, just sitting
- 5:44Speaker 1: in the room by myself, can't go outside, no contact
- 5:47Speaker 1: with nobody. That was that was just a bit different,
- 5:49Speaker 1: a bit much. So once were quarantined for seventy two hours,
- 5:53Speaker 1: we had to take another test. Then we was able
- 5:57Speaker 1: to film the next day. And after that we took
- 5:59Speaker 1: a test every day every morning at eight o'clock. That
- 6:02Speaker 1: kind of that that that wore on me a lot
- 6:05Speaker 1: because it was like, look, man, we keep getting tested
- 6:07Speaker 1: and no one here has it, then why do we
- 6:09Speaker 1: keep why do we keep getting tested? And it's like
- 6:11Speaker 1: this protocol. So but it was definitely a fun. Um,
- 6:15Speaker 1: it was a fun situation. Man. I've never had the
- 6:18Speaker 1: opportunity to experience that, uh, something of that magnitude with
- 6:22Speaker 1: the franchise, So I think it was good. I had
- 6:26Speaker 1: a good time doing it. Looked really good and fun
- 6:29Speaker 1: when you guys were all in the the picnic area
- 6:33Speaker 1: and doing that whole thing. And what I know is
- 6:35Speaker 1: different about this go around with love and hip hop.
- 6:37Speaker 1: You guys actually bring your kids out, so you had
- 6:40Speaker 1: your son there. Carlie read her daughter, what was it
- 6:43Speaker 1: like for you to watch watch it back last night
- 6:46Speaker 1: and you know, see all the things that were going on. Oh,
- 6:50Speaker 1: I mean it was dope. Like I said, you know,
- 6:53Speaker 1: I've been doing this long enough to I kind of
- 6:55Speaker 1: could get an ideal when it comes to production and
- 6:58Speaker 1: how things may play out through it's and how things
- 7:01Speaker 1: may not play out through and this as well. Um,
- 7:04Speaker 1: the good thing for me watching it back was just like, yeah,
- 7:09Speaker 1: they did it right. I'm enjoying it. You know what
- 7:12Speaker 1: I'm saying. It has a real family vibe because it
- 7:15Speaker 1: really was. I mean, everybody, and you're gonna watch It's
- 7:18Speaker 1: gonna open up even more and it's gonna start getting
- 7:20Speaker 1: a little crazy because when you start talking family, you
- 7:25Speaker 1: know people, you know, you can have more intimate conversation,
- 7:28Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. And the more intimate it gets.
- 7:31Speaker 1: The more personal it gets, The more personal it gets,
- 7:35Speaker 1: the more vulnerable the people that I involved, the more
- 7:39Speaker 1: vulnerable they become. And when you start talking vulnerability, uh,
- 7:45Speaker 1: in situations, it could go left really fast. So a
- 7:49Speaker 1: lot of things are definitely gonna seem like this just happened.
- 7:55Speaker 1: This is one of those I think they got it
- 7:57Speaker 1: right with this old special man is six or six
- 8:01Speaker 1: weeks is gonna be I opened up for a lot
- 8:03Speaker 1: of people, especially some of your favorite cast members, and
- 8:06Speaker 1: you can get to learn a lot more because a
- 8:08Speaker 1: lot of the things that are happening in the show
- 8:10Speaker 1: and have never taken place in the history of this franchise.
- 8:14Speaker 1: So be prepared. Now, one more quick question about I
- 8:18Speaker 1: noticed that some people were there and then some weren't.
- 8:22Speaker 1: How was that process on picking who was to come
- 8:24Speaker 1: out there and who wasn't? Uh? Because was it? Was
- 8:28Speaker 1: it like some people, you know, chose to stay home.
- 8:31Speaker 1: Like I noticed ray J was there, but Princess wasn't.
- 8:33Speaker 1: How was that process on picking? Do you know, let's
- 8:39Speaker 1: let's just say, uh, the numbers when it comes to
- 8:45Speaker 1: ratings and viewership, you know, certain people are just gonna
- 8:49Speaker 1: move the needle. You know what I'm saying, Like I
- 8:52Speaker 1: give you a perfect example. Imagine rioting in a vehicle
- 8:58Speaker 1: Mama Ded and Tregue Daddy and hearing their conversation, like like,
- 9:07Speaker 1: you have to have a camera because no one's gonna
- 9:09Speaker 1: believe the things that are gonna be sill or the
- 9:11Speaker 1: things that you're gonna hear, you know what I'm saying. So,
- 9:14Speaker 1: like they picked very interesting members and the way they
- 9:18Speaker 1: aired it all up, I was rather please with how
- 9:23Speaker 1: it turned out, you know what I'm saying, the final product.
- 9:25Speaker 1: So I can't say who turned it down, and then
- 9:29Speaker 1: I'm not I'm not previous certain things when it comes
- 9:34Speaker 1: to that, but just a lot of people wanted to
- 9:36Speaker 1: do it though, a lot of people want to do
- 9:38Speaker 1: it because I mean, not only was it more TV time,
- 9:41Speaker 1: but it was more money too. Listen, and I already
- 9:45Speaker 1: know you're gonna get that check because every time I
- 9:47Speaker 1: turn on the TV, you on like some type of special,
- 9:50Speaker 1: so including the v H one it's a love thing special.
- 9:53Speaker 1: How was that for you and your beautiful fiance? It
- 9:56Speaker 1: was dope, man, it was dope. It was a process,
- 9:58Speaker 1: the whole COVID thing again, man, you know, Like, so
- 10:02Speaker 1: did you see, the first one of the first specials
- 10:06Speaker 1: they did was Secrets until yep. So when we did that,
- 10:13Speaker 1: the crazy part about it we had to set up
- 10:15Speaker 1: all the equipment ourselves. You did say that, I believe.
- 10:19Speaker 1: I believe you did say that. It was crazy because
- 10:22Speaker 1: just imagine somebody's sitting on this is spen some face
- 10:25Speaker 1: equipment to you. Luckily, I have a background in production
- 10:29Speaker 1: just because of my career who I am, so I
- 10:31Speaker 1: was able to do it. But a lot of people
- 10:33Speaker 1: had a lot of issues. So imagine somebody sitting their
- 10:36Speaker 1: cameras and lights and mikes and earpieces, and you gotta
- 10:41Speaker 1: be walked through putting all this together along with testing
- 10:45Speaker 1: for COVID, then alone with sitting out waiting for other
- 10:48Speaker 1: people to get day ship. Right, Yeah, it gets a
- 10:52Speaker 1: little cham now that's too much, man, But a lot
- 10:55Speaker 1: it's interesting to see like this right here, we just
- 10:57Speaker 1: boot open up the laptop, boot hit the link. Bo Hey,
- 11:01Speaker 1: it went like that. It was I wasn't. I wasn't.
- 11:04Speaker 1: I was I was of trying to get it together.
- 11:06Speaker 1: So by the time we got around to the the
- 11:09Speaker 1: Love special, the Love Thing, it was way better because
- 11:13Speaker 1: people figured it out and by the time we got
- 11:15Speaker 1: around to the family reunion, it was like, Hey, all,
- 11:19Speaker 1: y'all gotta do is just show up, be tested and
- 11:22Speaker 1: test negative. All right, let's take a quick break with
- 11:24Speaker 1: the bat Alert Show. O. C T. S. Who. So
- 11:27Speaker 1: for our sim we're right back with Young Jack. You're
- 11:29Speaker 1: listening to a special edition of the Baller Alert Show. Yes, sir,
- 11:32Speaker 1: your favorite cousin checking in young You know how it
- 11:35Speaker 1: goes down. We'll be right back back to the ball
- 11:39Speaker 1: of Alert Show starting. I tell you March Ferrari, Simmons
- 11:44Speaker 1: and Shoes. So long we're back. WHOA Okay, so, Jock,
- 11:50Speaker 1: you have a really close relationship with your kids. One
- 11:52Speaker 1: thing I learned about you from working with you for
- 11:55Speaker 1: an entire year on the Young Block on the Streets
- 11:57Speaker 1: Morning Takeover show is you are very involved. Um you're
- 12:02Speaker 1: also like really real, you know what I'm saying, Like,
- 12:04Speaker 1: you don't really tend to have a lot of filters,
- 12:07Speaker 1: You just are who you are. So when I saw,
- 12:11Speaker 1: of course I knew that your son was involved, you know,
- 12:13Speaker 1: something we had talked about. But when I actually saw
- 12:16Speaker 1: the previews and and and the matchup between your son
- 12:21Speaker 1: and Carlie Red's daughter, I just could not envision how
- 12:26Speaker 1: smoothly that would go. The one thing I did see
- 12:30Speaker 1: in the previews was you saying, well, just remember what
- 12:32Speaker 1: my mother is. What what does that mean? What? What
- 12:37Speaker 1: does that mean exactly? And that wasn't even though shade,
- 12:41Speaker 1: That wasn't no shade at all. That just means that,
- 12:44Speaker 1: you know, just as I I give you games, son,
- 12:48Speaker 1: just as I try to keep you aware of how
- 12:51Speaker 1: the world works or how I may see the world
- 12:54Speaker 1: and how I think it works. Um, I just know
- 12:57Speaker 1: that she she has those types of out to her mother,
- 13:02Speaker 1: considering the type of mishaps and things like that that
- 13:07Speaker 1: she and I had. You know, just be careful because
- 13:10Speaker 1: you don't want to you know, you don't want to
- 13:12Speaker 1: be put in a situation where it's girl embarrass you.
- 13:15Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying, They'll do something crazy just
- 13:17Speaker 1: on you know, see conventions for her mom. Because a
- 13:20Speaker 1: lot of times all the way solid, you know, a
- 13:24Speaker 1: lot of times I really put my heart on the
- 13:28Speaker 1: line of Carly a lot of times that the world
- 13:31Speaker 1: never even knew about. And I always felt like, you
- 13:36Speaker 1: know how you you know the term someone cut off
- 13:39Speaker 1: the nose despite their face. I felt like Carly would
- 13:44Speaker 1: do that a lot anytime I brought her opportunity. Um,
- 13:49Speaker 1: it wasn't that she wasn't capable of pulling it off
- 13:52Speaker 1: or executing. It wasn't that she wasn't viable enough to
- 13:57Speaker 1: make it happen. It was just always I feel I
- 14:00Speaker 1: started to feel like because I brought it. She never
- 14:03Speaker 1: wanted to feel as if like I helped her do anything.
- 14:06Speaker 1: I think she wanted to feel like she helped me,
- 14:09Speaker 1: because then, you know, if you talk to car I
- 14:11Speaker 1: got you on love and hip hop, and it's like, no, baby,
- 14:13Speaker 1: you know I was rocking with you, he was rocking
- 14:15Speaker 1: with me. We got us on love and hip hop.
- 14:18Speaker 1: We got me on love and hip hop. It wasn't
- 14:20Speaker 1: just me, and it wasn't just you. You know what
- 14:21Speaker 1: I'm saying, Because even if you wanted to get me
- 14:23Speaker 1: on that, I had to play to make the decision
- 14:26Speaker 1: to say, okay, I'd be on that. So anyway, you know,
- 14:29Speaker 1: just to make a long story short, you know, I
- 14:30Speaker 1: didn't know if you know, it might be any spiteful
- 14:35Speaker 1: feelings and you know, you just don't know. Her daughter
- 14:38Speaker 1: might feel like, yeah, I'm gonna show you, I'm gonna
- 14:40Speaker 1: play with you a little boy, you know what I'm saying,
- 14:41Speaker 1: because he's much younger than her. But at the minute, yeah,
- 14:46Speaker 1: you know you're talking. He's your son is younger than
- 14:50Speaker 1: Carley Red's daughter that she's twenty six and he's twenty, right, Yeah,
- 14:56Speaker 1: he's about to be. He'll be twenty one and ship
- 14:58Speaker 1: she'll be twenty seven. This ship. So I'm like, hey, man,
- 15:02Speaker 1: just you know, come and play that coming cool be
- 15:04Speaker 1: came for my boyfriend. That's the wrong woman. Now that
- 15:06Speaker 1: they have their own villas, did your son have his
- 15:08Speaker 1: own villa and Carley's daughter had her own? Yeah, it
- 15:13Speaker 1: seemed like everybody was in their own space down like
- 15:15Speaker 1: six Flash Great Adventures of Me. What's the water part day?
- 15:22Speaker 1: What's the white Walls? White Walls? Yes? Hey, what did
- 15:30Speaker 1: your boys said? John? Yes, s skey, that's what's going on.
- 15:33Speaker 1: I want yes, sir SKEI. They lit up, They lit up,
- 15:43Speaker 1: they lit up. I was like, damn, I'm like, this
- 15:46Speaker 1: is what this is. Oh my god, what I'm saying,
- 15:50Speaker 1: Oh my god, my son bad Carlage daughter on this show.
- 15:57Speaker 1: This is gonna be just like so I'm just like,
- 15:59Speaker 1: I don't know, it's gonna play out. We gotta I
- 16:03Speaker 1: know you gotta leave so uh so before we get up,
- 16:06Speaker 1: before we do that, I do gotta talk to you
- 16:07Speaker 1: about something real quick. Um. A lot of people don't
- 16:10Speaker 1: know that the South Beach uh Nightclub is your club.
- 16:13Speaker 1: You own that club. I remember you was talking to
- 16:15Speaker 1: me about it. I think I want to say about
- 16:18Speaker 1: about three years ago, right when you first got hired.
- 16:21Speaker 1: And I do want to let you know, man, that's
- 16:22Speaker 1: a super dope thing that you've got going on. It's
- 16:24Speaker 1: still going strong. Let's talk about South Beach. Good, ask
- 16:28Speaker 1: fool good, ask hoo, because the servers are fun as hell,
- 16:32Speaker 1: like you really created. I'm gonna do a night yet.
- 16:34Speaker 1: I'm gonna do that. I'm gonna do a night. I
- 16:37Speaker 1: just don't know what night yet. I'm waiting. I'm waiting
- 16:39Speaker 1: on when I get my vaccine. I'm outside. When I
- 16:42Speaker 1: get my vaccine, I'll be on the South side with
- 16:44Speaker 1: you with that. But you know what's funny. You know
- 16:48Speaker 1: that you said three years. Do you realize that and
- 16:55Speaker 1: eight months I would have been on radio for five years.
- 17:01Speaker 1: I didn't even realize that it took yesterday. So when
- 17:03Speaker 1: you said that number, they just just sparked the interest
- 17:06Speaker 1: to say that to you. Um, so crazy because time
- 17:09Speaker 1: really be flying. Um, you know South Beaches. That was
- 17:12Speaker 1: one of those things man. You know, you know I said,
- 17:16Speaker 1: you know what, I want to do something different. I
- 17:19Speaker 1: didn't want the same theme as everybody. I was like,
- 17:22Speaker 1: I want something where I could I could be an
- 17:23Speaker 1: adult where adults and is allowed. You know, I want
- 17:27Speaker 1: I want to sit down and have you know, a
- 17:30Speaker 1: real dinner. I want, I want a cuisine. I just
- 17:32Speaker 1: want doings and fries and patrol and who the food
- 17:36Speaker 1: is really good even um. So you know, it's just
- 17:40Speaker 1: one of those things. Man. We've been doing really well, um,
- 17:44Speaker 1: I mean, and a lot of money, still making money,
- 17:48Speaker 1: still going up. And I'm just appreciative of the patrons
- 17:51Speaker 1: who coming to day in the day out. I mean
- 17:54Speaker 1: a lot of times I do see a lot of
- 17:56Speaker 1: the same people, and I also see a lot of
- 17:59Speaker 1: the same people who brought, a lot of the same
- 18:01Speaker 1: people who continue to bring. So it's a lot you
- 18:05Speaker 1: just keep watching it grow and grow and grow. But
- 18:08Speaker 1: it's definitely been one of those trying things through COVID
- 18:12Speaker 1: and whatnot. And you know, I don't want to see
- 18:13Speaker 1: him something like I'm just boasting it. Just yeah, but
- 18:16Speaker 1: we're straight having a COVID fest or even know what
