- 0:00All right, so we're talking about the worst purchase you've ever made. What
- 0:03comes to mind when I say the dumbest thing that immediately you're like, what
- 0:06the heck? What what am I doing? Here? Is he I've been
- 0:08wished so many times, like with clothes and things like that. I wished
- 0:12what do you mean when you it looks like, oh my gosh, it's
- 0:15gonna be really cute. Off it. Then you get it and you're like,
- 0:18did I buy this for a Barbie doll? Because this is not what
- 0:22I was going for. Before I had gotten married to Nick, I bought
- 0:27a dress on line, a wedding dress, and I thought, oh my
- 0:32gosh, this is it. It's gonna be gorgeous. A wedding dress.
- 0:34A wedding dress online. Yes, okay, you bought it for a wedding
- 0:37or were just for grins and giggles, like for my wedding? Okay you
- 0:41want like you were just like hoping. I was like, gosh, I
- 0:44can't wait the next guy that comes along, I'm gonna marry him. I
- 0:48was like praying on people, no, gosh, no anyway, and I
- 0:52will never forget. My girlfriend comes over and I put it on and We're
- 0:56both just looking on I don't know what we're gonna do with this hard no,
- 1:00Like the lace is like not really lace. It was terrible. Somebody
- 1:04ended up buying it from me for like fifty bucks. I was like,
- 1:07I don't know if you're gonna make a bunch of doilies or what you're gonna
- 1:10do with it. Thankfully, Alan Evans Bridle Shop was able to save me
- 1:12because I bought a wish dress. Like it was the worst experience of my
- 1:18life. Was it just cheap or yes? And it wasn't that expensive.
- 1:22I should have known, but I just thought, hey, second, why
- 1:25did I'm gonna take the cheap way cheap way around this one? What about
- 1:27you? Seven? Two nine eight seven worst purchase you've ever made? I
- 1:30remember in high school, I was a very vulnerable teenager, and you know,
- 1:34like what do you call multi level marketing or hyramid schemes? They were
- 1:38just kind of like a thing everywhere. And this friend of mine, who
- 1:42I thought anyway was a friend, got into somehow selling this like juice product
- 1:47and he sold me on it without me even reusing. Because it was the
- 1:49first time anybody had tried to sell me. I didn't have Facebook. Nobody
- 1:53had tried to get me into one of these things, so he had me
- 1:57convinced. And he was like an older friend, so I thought he was
- 1:59cool that this thing was this magic juice and he had been using it in
- 2:01his joints had never felt better. And oh, by the way, if
- 2:06you sell these, you can make money and everybody in it for free,
- 2:09and you well and you you just have to buy the first load and then
- 2:14everybody underneath you you get to make money off. I'm like, well,
- 2:15that seems like an obvious deal. Yeah, So as a high school or
- 2:20working, you know, fourteen hours a week at Arby's, somehow scrounged together.
- 2:24I want to say, it was like two hundred and fifty dollars of
- 2:27this juice. And so finally it arrives at my house and I put in
- 2:30the fridge and it sat in the fridge for months and months and months that
- 2:35we threw it away because I just like, never mind, But did they
- 2:38like try charging you every single month. I've been in situations like that where
- 2:42it's like, oh, here, just a one time payment, and then
- 2:45you don't read the details and then you can't get out. You're just like
- 2:49locked in at sixty nine dollars a month for whatever product it is. Thank
- 2:52god, I don't think that happened, or maybe they maybe they were charging
- 2:54me. They were just getting you know, the overdraft every month or something.
- 2:59But the old Pyramids GA super dumb seven two eight ninety eight seven.
- 3:04If you want to chime and integrace, you do, you have a dumb
- 3:06thing you've bought. I don't know where the money is coming in from,
- 3:10but you're spending a lot of money. It seems like, um. Jason
- 3:14Aldean's wife Brittany was like doing this like smart cups. There's nowhere that this
- 3:19could go that would be a smart I follow Brittany Aldean and she's get She
- 3:23sometimes gets me hook line and sink about what was us? They were those
- 3:25smart cups you like fill them up with water to like this line, and
- 3:30they're supposed to give you energy. And I was like, oh my gosh,
- 3:32Brittany Aldean's doing it. I gotta buy some. So I bought some.
- 3:36They were the worst tasting things in the world, and they did not
- 3:38give me any any energy. So the cup itself is supposed to give you
- 3:43energy. I'm very confused. It's just this little coup and it has like
- 3:45these little like it almost looks like those things where you put water in and
- 3:50then it like dissolves like a cup of noodles, and then you add the
- 3:53water, but then it's a juice instead of no noodles. Yeah, okay,
- 3:57but you had to believe it because the wife of middling country music star
- 4:00Jason Aldan was promoting, right. I mean, at this point, Brittany
- 4:04is way cooler than Jason in my opinion. But whatever, we get any
- 4:08interesting on Facebook comments, we do. We have Ruben and we also have
- 4:14yeah, Reuben and Jared wedding rings, both boys. Sorry to hear that
- 4:20boys. Jenna did chime in and she said a roomba, and Lisa said,
- 4:26I agree with that. They're handy, but if you have for kids,
- 4:29forget it. Really. Yeah, we had a room ba at one
- 4:31point and we actually sold it to a neighbor because I'm like, I love
- 4:34the thought of it. Yeah, you know, we don't even have pets,
- 4:38our kids, but I have a wife who has a head of hair.
- 4:40And in the morning one point seven, which means it is time for
- 4:49the hypothetical situation game, famously known as what do you do that's my favorite.
- 4:57It is my favorite. So here's the deal. We're gonna give each
- 5:00other hypothetical situations, just brutal, brutal situations. Really find out what you're
- 5:04made of, and you can play along in your car. Certainly, so
- 5:06a man to hit me with the first one. All right. So you're
- 5:09at the lake, beautiful weekend, your wife Lauren and Oliver girlfriends are having
- 5:13a great time. You've got one other guy out there? Was it just
- 5:15oh? Okay, yep, the guy got it. He's driving the boat.
- 5:19You decide I'm going tubin. I mean, this guy wants to throw
- 5:24you off. You are just ripping around the lake. You fly off.
- 5:28You had a huge wave. Not only did you fly off pike, but
- 5:31your swimming trunks are gone. They flew off. They're gone. Okay,
- 5:35now, remember it's a boat full. It's Lauren Oliver girls. You can't
- 5:40find them. You're in the water the middle of the lake. So Pike,
- 5:44there you go, there you are. I know, Wow, how
- 5:49embarrassing. What do you do? Hopefully of Walleye doesn't think it's well bait
- 6:00a little bait. Okay, Well, it's a lake, Amanda and the
- 6:04warmest bodies of water. No, I don't know. I do the old
- 6:09point, the old cupping technic, the two hands cupping. I don't know.
- 6:13Okay, locker room, yeah, I got it all right. Okay,
- 6:16Amanda, you and your husband are out for a nice little dinner with
- 6:20another couple. Now, this couple secretly kind of annoys you. Okay,
- 6:25but you gotta do dinner. Okay. Now, when you get there,
- 6:29the other couple orders not one, but two appetizers off the menu. They
- 6:33go with the cheese plate and the blackened shrimps. Now the thing is,
- 6:39at no point do they say, hey, you guys, have as much
- 6:42as you'd like, nor do they say that these are for the table.
- 6:45Got it, just house the entire things. But when the check comes,
- 6:49they ask the waiter to split the appetizers. So Amanda, yeah, can
- 6:58you put these on both of us? We split these? Yeah, thank
- 7:01you, thank you? What do you do? Well, I'm gonna just
- 7:04go okay, and I'm gonna pay. But you also mentioned my husband's gonna
- 7:09be there and Nick is gonna go I didn't have any of those, and
- 7:14I'm gonna be kicking him under the table. Shut up, You're like,
- 7:18why, I don't know guys, how was the cheese plate? Love?
- 7:24I would not say a thing either. No, I would be like,
- 7:27okay, and then I'd get in the car and I'd be like, are
- 7:29you kidding of these two? No wonder we hate them, never going out
- 7:32with them again. All right, Pike, all right, cool, You're
- 7:36at Shinedown Friday at the fair. Shinedown popular American rock band. All right,
- 7:42they're gonna be at the fair Friday. Put yourself in this position.
- 7:45You're at having a good time again. You're with your buddies, that's the
- 7:47whole thing. You have a couple of beers, and you got to go
- 7:50to the bathroom. It happens, you know, the only situation out there
- 7:54is going to be that porta potti. Yeah, so you go to the
- 7:56porta potti. You're hustling. You love Shinedown, so you pop in real
- 8:01quick. Oops, it gone. Your cell phone falls into the porta potti.
- 8:07It's your phone, it has everything that's my cellular device, yeah,
- 8:11or a lifeline. Yeah. So, Pike, for the record, I
- 8:16feel like you've asked me both of these before, haven't. Nevertheless, what
- 8:20do you do? I will say, I have a similar experience back in
- 8:24tea ball T ball. One of my first year of t ball, I
- 8:28remember going to practice solo without my staffs first day of tea Well, let
- 8:31me tell you what happened, and you'll know why. I don't forget because
- 8:33I went to the porta potty and my glove was under my arm. Oh
- 8:37no, my glove fell into the porta potty, Amanda, And as a
- 8:39child, I knew no other option but to pull it out of there and
- 8:43use it. Never told anybody, Yeah, use that glove for the entire
- 8:48year. So twenty five years later, cell phone, I'm going to create
- 8:52a mechanism like a diver and I'm gonna fish it out of there. So
- 8:58are you gonna tell everybody like, don't go in there, don't go in
- 9:00there. I gotta find a meta. I'm gonna say, I'm gonna tape
- 9:01it off, and then I'm gonna put it in a bowler, Rice,
- 9:05and We're gonna continue to live our lives, not gonna bowler. I get
- 9:09help with that. Oh come on, Amanda. Last one, what do
- 9:13you do? The year is eighteen sixty five. You're the wife of sixteenth
- 9:20President of the United States, Abraham Lincoln. Okay, your husband, Abe
- 9:24suggests that you should get out of the house. He's thinking a night at
- 9:30the theater, Amanda, it's been cooped up. Get out of the town.
- 9:41Eighteen sixty five? What am I gonna do? What do you do?
- 9:45Our guns are slinging? I feel like I'm gonna been visiting myself bar
- 9:50hopping unless one way, like one road, there's gotta be a bar putting
- 9:56on some boots, kicking the door down and go on. Hey guys,
- 10:01ladies night out right? Were you gonna go to the theater or what?
- 10:07No, I'm past the theater. I'm going to the park. Okay,
- 10:09you're gonna let him go. Yeah, I'm not going to be so you're
- 10:13not gonna intervene with what ultimately might happen at that theater. Oh my god,
- 10:16I didn't even God, you didn't even know what I'm doing here.
- 10:22I went a long way to do this whole thing, and you didn't even
- 10:24get it. You don't get eighteen Do I need a April fifteenth? John
- 10:30Wilkes booth is also in the house at night, and you're gonna go guns
- 10:33of slinging at ladies night at the saloon? I need a history lesson but
- 10:43I also need a drink up this morning, Ring Pike and Amanda in the
- 10:48morning. Here we go. You, I'll just spect a thing. When
- 10:54do you hear that? Telephone? F bread never listening? Friends? Friend?
- 11:07What a tune? All right, Amana? So here's the deal,
- 11:09you ladies. You just can never have a secret out there. You gotta
- 11:11know everything. You're so nosy. And that's why this man, the husband,
- 11:16wants us to prank call his wife because she's dying to know the entertainment
- 11:18that he was put in charge of booking for the family reunion. Okay,
- 11:22yeah, that's just what we ladies do. I gotta know. Well,
- 11:24I'm gonna let her know. Let's see if she answers. Hello, Hey,
- 11:35looking for a Brett. Um, he's not home right now, but
- 11:39this is his wife. Is there something that I can help you with?
- 11:43Yeah? I guess so. Yeah? Maybe what was your name, miss
- 11:46Chelsea? Chelsea? Anyway, Snakeskin Davis down here at Snakeskins Entertainment Colin just
- 11:50to maybe collect the final payment on the entertainment product that your husband, Brett
- 11:56had purchased. Maybe you could help me out with that entertainment said he was
- 12:01booking entertainment for a party y'all are having down there. Oh yeah, that's
- 12:03right. Um, I totally forgot about that. Actually, Um, could
- 12:07you actually tell me what what he what he booked? Because he didn't actually
- 12:11tell me. Yeah. So yeah, so your husband, Brad actually booked
- 12:13our Ultimate Furry Frenzy Package and we're just going to be needing the final payment
- 12:18on that, which it comes to two hundred and seventy six dollars and eighty
- 12:22four cents. Now that's gonna be a debt or a credit card. I'm
- 12:26sorry, did you say, um Furrey Frenzy Package? Yeah, yep,
- 12:31that's the that's the package your husband went on and booked down there. Okay,
- 12:35well what is that exactly? So I know what's going on until I
- 12:37can plan? Is that something for for the kids as for the whole family?
- 12:41Really, it's basically where we send in a bunch of adults dressed as
- 12:45animals and they dance all exotically up on the guests there at the party.
- 12:50What this is for a family reunion? Why would he do exotic dancers?
- 12:54That doesn't make any sense. Yeah, it's not really our jurisdiction as far
- 12:58as what's appropriate for your family. So anyway, that's gonna be two hundred
- 13:01and seventy six dollars. I'm sorry, I'm not paying for this. This
- 13:05is for my family reunion. This is totally inappropriate. Okay, well,
- 13:11maybe we can work with you on this. I understand there is a little
- 13:13confusion here, maybe a little miscommunication between you and your husband. Would you
- 13:18be interested in maybe one of our other maybe more family friendly packages, like
- 13:22what Well, I think maybe the Firefighter's Delight would be appropriate for this situation.
- 13:31Okay, well, what is that exactly? Yeah, that's just gonna
- 13:33be where we basically send in a bunch of nude firefighters with hoses what they
- 13:39kind of just dance around and swing the hose around. No, no,
- 13:43no, no, no, no oh no absolutely not no, no,
- 13:46no, no no. We are not doing this. What I say,
- 13:48learning it and there's got any kids there? Absolutely unacceptable. We could get
- 13:52like a thong. Maybe if we put a little underwear on the guys,
- 13:56would that help? Would that be better? No, there's gonna be kids,
- 14:00say, did you not just hear me? I'm gonna have to talk
- 14:01to my husband. This is no I'll tell you what, Chelsea. We
- 14:05already talked to Brett and uh, actually the whole thing's a joke. So
- 14:11what what? Oh Chelsea, it's Pike and Amanda in the Morning. I'm
- 14:16big ninety in point seven. I'm sorry, but this was a pranky no.
- 14:18No, Oh my god, I was gonna say, you're kidding me.
- 14:24I was about to say, I am going to kill my husband.
- 14:26How do you do this? Around said, what is wrong? To listen?
- 14:30There's no there's no furries. There's no naked firefighters. Although that does
- 14:33sound more exciting than whatever your husband did. Not No, not for the
- 14:37family. Probably some nice bouncy houses, maybe a water slide, he said,
- 14:43your your husband. Brett reached out to us. He said that you've
- 14:45been a little nosy, dying to know what entertainment he booked. But he
- 14:48wants to keep it a surprise, so we're gonna keep it that way.
- 14:50But I bet it's gonna be a lot of fun. Oh my god.
- 14:52Well, now I'm more terrified. And Amanda in the Morning point seven.
- 15:01Do you have any experience with Airbnb's. We rented one for our wedding and
- 15:05that was a great experience in Evergreen, and then we did a San Diego
- 15:09trip right after we had SID and that was a little different. We had
- 15:15a great place. Oh I'd love to hear about it, but I want
- 15:18you to compare it to this airbnb. It's gotten viral on Twitter because somebody
- 15:22went on vacation over to the UK, which would be lovely, and they
- 15:24got a little little room, right because it's just one person and you know
- 15:28it's probably cheap. Will they arrive and they've shared photos online of the room
- 15:33and if you look here on the photo I'm looking at, that is your
- 15:35standard bathroom with a shower, toilet and a bed. They literally rented out
- 15:45a bathroom with a bed in it, stop without having knowledge of it before.
- 15:50And people are, you know, like at it in somebody's house.
- 15:54This is, yeah, a room within somebody's house. So you know,
- 15:56you can rent an entire house or rented a room and something. And that's
- 15:58how it started Airbnb was you know, you could rent an air mattress in
- 16:03somebody's house, and it's obviously grown to be you can rent mansions, you
- 16:07know, but yeah, this is a what would I know I'm imagining showing
- 16:11up because you're thinking I'm traveling, I'm gonna spend maybe a couple of hours
- 16:15of sleeping time. That's it, you know, maybe, well, bet,
- 16:19I'm losing my mind. Really, see, I'm like for the right
- 16:25price. To me, this is great. I mean, look at it.
- 16:26The toilet is an arms reach from the bad the bed. I mean,
- 16:30this is heaven for me. I am not in college anymore. I
- 16:33don't need to be laying in the bathroom on the floor. Listen, I
- 16:36know many hours do you know how many hours of sleep I miss out on
- 16:38because I'm laying there thinking about I should probably get up and go to the
- 16:41bathroom. But man, it's a long ways away. Now it seems like
- 16:45you can just aim right for it. Yeah, just roll over kind the
- 16:49angling of her body and the showers right there too. I mean, listen,
- 16:53have you ever had a you know, probably not in a bathroom,
- 16:56but interesting Airbnb stories, because we had one recently that way is a bit
- 17:00of a nightmare, you did, Oh yeah, in Florida. We had
- 17:03a bunch of people staying in there. And you know, of course I'm
- 17:06the one who its name is under, so I'm responsible, and so we
- 17:10leave and you know, nobody cleans up, because that's the thing with Airbnb's
- 17:12you got to pay a cleaning fee, but then you also got to clean
- 17:15up the whole place, right, take the trash out. We did none
- 17:18of that, which I understood. But then they charged us because there was
- 17:21sand in their dryer. They claim, we're at the beach, mind you,
- 17:26and so they said we had to pay to fix the dryer. And
- 17:30nobody like, who puts sand in the dryer? That seems crazy. You
- 17:33guys had it on your towels and you it would have been more probably in
- 17:36the Washington I'm saying, like, nobody threw a dirty towel in the dryer.
- 17:40I don't know. It was. It was very obnoxed games a little
- 17:41sketchy. Tell me about your San Diego trip. It was great, except
- 17:45where we got in really late, and the place that we went it was
- 17:49like amaze. Trying to get in. It was like seventeen underground places and
- 17:52you could go through all these different gates and when you have no idea where
- 17:56you're going. So we're trying to get ahold of this woman at like two
- 17:59thirty in the morning. Meanwhile, or put pushing Sydney around because we had
- 18:03her at the time. It was a disaster. Took us almost an hour
- 18:06and a half to just get into the airbnb. Airbnb itself was fine,
- 18:11but just like anything, the pictures were not what we expected. Like they
- 18:15were supposed to be a view of the beach. No, you're like six
- 18:17miles from the beach. That's not exactly how I went down. The photo
- 18:19was a zoomed in picture of a puddle or something. Worse for me,
- 18:23there had this creepy teddy bear. It was a like a life sized teddy
- 18:27bear that was just sitting in the living room. What an interesting choice.
- 18:30It was really gross to me because I'm thinking, is this a video camera
- 18:37and this teddy bear? And then we had our daughter and she like wanted
- 18:38to play with the teddy bear. I'm like, this is disgusting. For
- 18:41sure. All of the kids are playing with this teddy bear and that's just
- 18:45gross. What if you called the host like, hey, what's the deal
- 18:48with the teddy bear and she goes, what teddy bear in the morning gave
- 19:00birth to a baby or two? In fact, actually, sir, have
- 19:02yeah, you were pretty much there for the first one. I was in
- 19:04the room. I wasn't the room. I'll never go back in the room.
- 19:08Good time. I've given the option. So people have uncovered a nineteen
- 19:14seventies hospital manual on new mothers and the giving birth process. So these are
- 19:19suggestions they were making in the hospital room in nineteen seventy. I'm sure they
- 19:23gave you a list of Oh, you get a whole pamphlet, and there's
- 19:26birthing classes all that. We didn't go through all of that. I kind
- 19:29of was more of the it's a surprise and delight. Let me just see
- 19:32what happens. It's otherwise I'd overthink it and I get all anxious and nervous.
- 19:37I'm like, oh, let's just see what happened. Spent a million
- 19:40times the problem warn't always talks about she'd be scared to give birth. I'm
- 19:42like, people, everyone does it. It's a it's a wild exci No,
- 19:48it's difficult. But here's what they said in nineteen seventies. So when
- 19:49you get in the room and you're sitting there and you're waiting waiting for the
- 19:52labor to start, the big first thing is to turn the television off because
- 19:57that baby needs all your attention. Were you watching TV? My husband was
- 20:03because with Sydney it was during March madness. Remember we've gone through that.
- 20:07That's right, that's right. Uh B would be to complete any phone calls,
- 20:11get those out of the way, because you got you know, baby
- 20:12coming see. And I think I was texting more because everybody wanted updates.
- 20:15It's like, huh, I'm at a seven not quite yet, you know
- 20:18that kind of thing. At what point did you stop texting because you're on
- 20:21your phone, as people know, probably twenty four hours a day. I
- 20:23mean I just hit speaker phone and I was like, all right, guys,
- 20:26it's about to happen. Facebook. No, I was off my phone
- 20:32when the docs are coming in and it's like, okay, it's when there
- 20:36was hands yeah, making an entrance. All right. So in the big
- 20:38one people were laughing about was put your cigarette out? Of what you're saying
- 20:44if just before giving birth in the hospital room, you gotta put your cigarette
- 20:48out, I mean, have some respect. It's hard to even wrap your
- 20:51head around the fact that people were smoking in a public facility like that,
- 20:56especially in a healthcare facility, at any point in time, any of like
- 21:00even a restaurant. I mean I remember as a kid in the nineties going
- 21:03to like the frying pan and there was the smoking and non smoking section,
- 21:06and I would get so mad when my mom would make a sit in the
- 21:08smoking Yeah, like you can't have your pancakes without a cigarette coming, come
- 21:11on, It's just crazy. But what I love is that you used to
- 21:15think there was a smoking and non smoking section. It's just smoky, like
- 21:18everywhere there's stuff. Yeah, it's not like I can't smell that from twelve
- 21:22feet away. It's still here. It's I give you. Go to a
- 21:25casino now, one of the few places that you can smoke, which seems
- 21:29insane. If you're sitting there at a casino or like a slot machine or
- 21:32something, and somebody's next you was smoking, It's like, what world is
- 21:34this? I can't I can't be around it. It's crazy to me now.
- 21:37It's just I can't talk the next day even just being around it.
- 21:42God forbid. I have a few drinks and actually smoke one. I am
- 21:47just shocked by that. In the seven I know in the best part is
- 21:49it says put your cigarette out. It says it doesn't say if you have
- 21:52a cigarette. It's like they assume you're smoking a cigarette, but you gotta
- 21:56put it out once the baby's out, then just light them off. In
- 22:00Amanda in the morning. Did you see the woman going viral here because she
- 22:07ordered a vinyl record of Taylor Swiss. Was it the new speak Now album?
- 22:11Ye? Now Taylor's version. Oh sorry, I don't want to give
- 22:15any money to that scooter clown, all right. So when she ordered it,
- 22:18she put it on her little vinyl because people are like vinyls, you
- 22:21know. And instead of hearing one of the catchy tunes from speak Now Taylor's
- 22:26version, this is what she got on her vinyl. Quit looking at the
- 22:30flakes of flesh and dancing organisms or rather junk impire to freak tax things literally,
- 22:36just like the creepiest speaking voice, borderline satanic. And she said she
- 22:41bought it right off the official website too, which is really concerning. Yeah.
- 22:45So obviously some sort of accident at the shipping plant or an intervention from
- 22:49Satan himself. Yeah. No. This also reminded me of after I had
- 22:56gotten married. I had all these wedding pictures and pop sockets had just came
- 23:00out, Michael, pop sockets, remember those you'd put on the back of
- 23:03your phone talk about a turning point history of civilization. I know I never
- 23:08have had one, because I went on Shutterfly, like, oh my gosh,
- 23:12this is a cute little idea. I'll put together one of Nick and
- 23:15I and you're gonna design a pop socket. They're so small, I know.
- 23:21So I decided to do some pictures, not really realizing. I'm like,
- 23:23oh, this is kind of weird. But I was able to put
- 23:26all these pictures on it, right, okay, So wait and wait and
- 23:29wait, and Shutterfly shows up. Open, am I, this is a
- 23:32big box pop socket. Yeah, open it. And it was just a
- 23:37plate like it was a plastic plate in the middle. It says love you
- 23:42more. And there's like five or six pictures of Nick and I just love
- 23:47each other off of them. Yep. So we saved it. So every
- 23:49once in a while when I'm just being a little smarty silly, here you
- 23:55go on it's just funny. Well that's weird, I know. So it
- 23:59was obviously a mistake or you supposed to take that on the back of your
- 24:00phone, or or is just me totally not read you made the mistake.
- 24:04Don't be ridiculous, come on, highly unlikely hike in Amanda in the morning.
- 24:11Seven. There's now time for Hometown Throwdown. Every Thursday. You have
- 24:18a chance to win by representing the town you live in, because you gotta
- 24:22have some pride from where you're from. Well, let's say good morning to
- 24:23our returning champion. Her name is Brittany and she hails from West Fargo.
- 24:29Good morning, Brady, good morning. How are we doing today? Big
- 24:33week for West Fargo at the Red River Valley Fair. Huh yeah? Is
- 24:37it all the buzz out there? That's all everybody is talking about. The
- 24:42mosquitoes are crazy. Well, let's say good morning to your challenger this week.
- 24:47She's called her nine and her name was Nicole. Good morning, Nicole,
- 24:51Good morning. All right, So where we representing? Where's your hometown?
- 24:53South Fargo? South? How south? Are we talking? Nice?
- 25:00Nice? I feel like that's now so central. It's just crazy good spot
- 25:03to be though. All right, ladies, So here's the deal. It's
- 25:04hometown throwdown. We're gonna have a best of five random trivia questions. So
- 25:10once a man to ask a trivia question, if you know the answer to
- 25:12buzz in, you just have to yell where you're from. So either West
- 25:15Fargo or South Fargo best of five going to be the winner. And you
- 25:19got a pretty cool choice of tickets. Yeah, either ever clear, gonna
- 25:22be in DL or you could go to ludicrous in tea pain over at the
- 25:26North Dakota State Fair. We've got all kinds of stuff to give away,
- 25:29ladies. Are we ready? Ready? Let's hometown throwdown? All right,
- 25:33ladies, which continent is the largest South Fargo? Go ahead? Uh,
- 25:41Asia's very confident. It's like how big is Antarctica? And is that a
- 25:49continent? I don't know which fast food restaurant serves the bacon Eader South Fargo
- 25:57again? Oh, murder King for the steel West Bargo. Brittany, do
- 26:04you know it? Yes? I love Wendy's what was the name of the
- 26:15Robin Williams film where he dresses up as an elderly British nanny. Let's go
- 26:22ahead, Brittany, missus doefire. Just a classic, just a great film.
- 26:27All right. So Brittany's got two to South Pargo's one. Correct,
- 26:30So this is for the win for Brittany. What's a perfect score in bowling?
- 26:37Let's Targo, Brittany for the wine drow me three hundred yo getting after
- 26:45it? Oh my gosh, Nicole, you came out of the gate strong,
- 26:48but not enough today Brittany is our returning champion yet again. Congratulations,
- 26:55Thank you, Nicole. We appreciate you trying though, Yeah, thank you.
- 26:57Absolutely. We'll see you around South Bargo one of these days, I'm
- 27:00sure in the morning. Seven. All right. So there's things that you
- 27:11wish you would have known as a teen right about the real world, because
- 27:14older you can get, the more you're like, God, I wish it
- 27:15would have helped. And there's also a part of me I feel like my
- 27:18mom probably told me some of these things, and I was just like,
- 27:22whatever, Mom, Okay, sure, yeah, I'm just gonna update my
- 27:26mind space. Yeah, no, kiddy. Anyway, there's an online conversation
- 27:30happening about things you would say to a team, so like, for example,
- 27:33uh, one thousand dollars is a lot to oh, but not a
- 27:37lot to have, no, And as a team, I would have heard
- 27:41that and been like, I don't know, Okay, my army's check is
- 27:44forty four dollars, so you know, but it is. I mean,
- 27:48yeah, it's a it's a it's a lot easier to stack up thousands dollars
- 27:52debt than it is to stack up thousands of dollars saying incredibly easy and now
- 27:56they make it so easy too with It's amazing to me how many of these
- 28:00kids have credit cards. Is that kids have credit cards? Yeah, I
- 28:04mean once you're out of high school and you turn eighteen and you can just
- 28:08get to town on him. I had a cousin who filed for bankruptcy at
- 28:11the time she was like twenty four because she just was like, didn't think
- 28:15anything of it. You're just thinking it's just a plastic ring, and you
- 28:18don't realize what debt is and how it's going to affect your credit or any
- 28:22of that, and that and the concept of like interest and how insane the
- 28:26interest. So once you have a certain amount of debt, like you'll never
- 28:29pay it off. You just can't because it's just constantly, you know,
- 28:33you make a two hundred dollars payment and then you get charged two hundred fifty
- 28:36dollars for interest and even that. Don't you feel that should be more of
- 28:38like a main course in high school? No, I don't think so.
- 28:41I think they had to do uh, you know, trigonometry and all the
- 28:47things, Spanish history also, all that stuff is needed. No for better
- 28:52or for worse. Confidence opens as many doors as competence. I like that,
- 28:56you know what I mean? Because think about like in our industry and
- 28:59a lot of industries, if you just present yourself as somebody who knows what
- 29:02they're doing, but you don't actually like you're better off than somebody who's really
- 29:06good at what they do. But you just see them, they don't seem
- 29:08confident or you know. Yeah, and I think you'd be surprised how many
- 29:11people really have no idea what they're doing. Just in general, everybody in
- 29:15life is kind of just winging it totally. Like you just hope this is
- 29:18where you're supposed to be, what you should be doing, but you always
- 29:22like for me anyway, I'll look up at people who are running companies or
- 29:26just big you know, people you think are like big wigs. Yeah,
- 29:29they're probably going home thinking, oh my god, like, am I going
- 29:32to screw this up? I'm probably below this. One thing that came to
- 29:34mind when you were talking about work is it wasn't until recently, probably like
- 29:41my early thirty two everybody's replaceable, Like you're not. You're not somebody who's
- 29:45going to just manda. In fact, you spoiled my next one. Adults
- 29:52would tell teens to warn them about the real world. Your job sees you
- 29:56as replaceable, so look out for yourself and your family. Your job is
- 29:59not every thing, but it will feel like it is. So make sure
- 30:02that you know you don't like where you are, then you can just change
- 30:04it because at the end of the day, your job can replace you and
- 30:07probably will. And I think since having kids, that's been the I mean,
- 30:12you were so career minded and you're doing everything to get to where you're
- 30:15at. Now that I have kids, I'm like, that's really I mean,
- 30:18I love everybody, but that's all that matters. Like at the end
- 30:21of the day, it's like it's just your kids and your husband. That's
- 30:23really tough to hear a man crush me. I think about you two,
- 30:26Pike? Is that right? I do? I do yes for better or
- 30:30for worse? Did I read that anyway? Is there anything else that you
- 30:37can think of? M Well, the college thing. I would address that
- 30:41with them, you know. And I my wife, Lauren's brother lived with
- 30:45us for a little bit and I talk to him all the time. I'm
- 30:48like, hey, you don't know what you want to do, Like,
- 30:49don't just go to college because you want to go You know, live in
- 30:52the dorms and you know, be one of the go to the football games,
- 30:56like don't do that and that, and speaking of all the money that
- 30:59you're using and haying and going into, you have zero direction as to where
- 31:03you're headed. Yeah, no, I totally get that. Another one,
- 31:07just real quick, is just time in general, like as you get older.
- 31:11I don't know what it is, and maybe it's just our career,
- 31:12but I'm already thinking of Christmas, like summer's over in my mind, Like
- 31:17time just flies the older you get. Remember like growing up, it was
- 31:22just like school years just all it just felt like they drug on forever and
- 31:26then all of a sudden, you turn whatever. As soon as you're like
- 31:29an adult and you're having a plan like dinners and all the things, every
- 31:32days the same. Yea year is the same. You know. It's like
- 31:34from twenty five to thirty, like what was different, Like hardly anything,
- 31:37But from thirteen to eighteen, like everything changed seven one, two, eight
- 31:42ninety eight seven. You want to add something, what would you warn a
- 31:45teenager about the real world integrates where you paying attention? Do you agree with
- 31:49the time thing? Is that? Right? Especially now? I feel like
- 31:52some concept of time. Usually just goes by so fast that actually happens all
- 31:56the time. Up this morning, Amanda, in the morning, Now here's
- 32:07what you need to know. We gotta get them out of here. And
- 32:10last night I was hoping that it was going to happen eight forty five.
- 32:13We were all just waiting for the mosquitoes to just die before our eyes.
- 32:17They were supposed to do a sprain. I wasn't being that sick about it.
- 32:21Oh my gosh, they are so bad. I was at Wino's last
- 32:22night and I even asked them, like, do you guys have any bug
- 32:24spray? Just had to load up. It was crazy. I haven't smelled
- 32:28the scent of bug spraying so long. Really, I don't know why.
- 32:30I'm surprised with all the golfing you do that you don't have bug spraying in
- 32:34your golf bag. Yeah. I'll tell you what. I had a skeeter
- 32:36take a bite out of my leg mid swing last night at League. That
- 32:42was no come on, Amanda, Oh that was the line though. For
- 32:45me. I'm like, all right, we gotta do something about this.
- 32:47Well, they ended up post pointing it last night because they said there were
- 32:51some a number of factors, but high winds was one of them where he
- 32:54was like the least windy night maybe ever in North Dakota. They planned to
- 32:59try to do it end tonight. So fingers and toes cross because is got
- 33:02it. I mean, I don't remember a time in the city that has
- 33:05been this bad, really gross. Yeah, welcome to unforgettable North Dakota.
- 33:09Oh, we all love North Dakota and a lot of people go to Medora
- 33:13as a family vacation. I have yet to go, but over the last
- 33:16couple of days, Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunas have been hanging out there.
- 33:19Oh yeah, there's a picture in the right there, look at them.
- 33:21There they go. Yeah. At North Dakota Cowboy Hall of Fame, the
- 33:24gift shop manager snapped a photo of them after they did a private Too Earthly
- 33:28museum. She said that they arrived just before closing time on Tuesday evening,
- 33:32which like, hey, we're about to shut down, and then all of
- 33:36a sudden they show up, and she said they look kind of familiar,
- 33:37but at the moment she didn't realize it was them until they introduced themselves.
- 33:42Well, I will say I'm looking at a picture of them and they look
- 33:44like the most normal people. When you don't see them on TV and red
- 33:46carpets and all the makeup, it's like there's just people because you always think,
- 33:50oh, I'm gonna know who these people are or any of this as
- 33:52you're just passing by them. But I don't really think you would in some
- 33:55circumstance. Speaking of golf, you think they'll be golfing the what is it
- 33:59called bullypole bully pulp. Oh yeah, I gotta get out there, I
- 34:02know. Same with my hubby. Yeah, maybe him and I take a
- 34:05little trip out west, little boys trip, and Lorn and I will go
- 34:07where you can stand tell kids and there is a company offering one lucky Barbie
- 34:15fan a dream job. The chosen applicant will be given one thousand dollars to
- 34:20watch it, and you gotta rank all sixteen animated Barbie movies from two thousand
- 34:23and one to two thousand and nine. The story for me is, I
- 34:25did not know there were that many animated Barbie movies. I don't think I've
- 34:29ever seen one. No, I know I'm a little older, and I
- 34:32guess I played with Barbies. I used to get in troubled for cutting off
- 34:36all their hair and feeding him yogurt by my mom because they were going to
- 34:38be collectibles. I don't know. I just treated them. I was an
- 34:40only child. I was treating them like they were my little sister. Some
- 34:45issues. I mean, I wasn't chopping off their heads and arms. Oh
- 34:47you weren't. I was just playing. That's what the boys get it.
- 34:50When you getting your sister's barbies, you start ripping the limbs off. Now
- 34:53that was the sign of an issue. Yeah, no kid, ready,
- 34:57ready, that's he is typing hot today. No, Nanda stills. Let's
- 35:02see. Let's see. Well this is pretty relatable. You just don't think
- 35:07a lot of these things happen to celebrities. But Mandy Moore posted to Instagram
- 35:10yesterday and she said, yeah, a package of mine got stolen outside of
- 35:15my home in La. She says people are the worst. She took a
- 35:17screenshot of a package leaning on a large white gate. She said, I
- 35:21was wondering where the stroller I ordered went. I was going back and forth
- 35:23with customer service fed X. I swore to them like they did not deliver
- 35:28this until she found the video of somebody jacking it from in front of her
- 35:31gate. Yeah, it's sad. Well, what they got to do something
- 35:35at some point? It happens way too often. And does Amazon work with
- 35:37you on that? Like, will they just send you a new thing?
- 35:40You know, I've never thankfully had a porch pirate. Do you have a
- 35:44ring camera? I sure do. My husband and I always talk about that
- 35:46when we are walking to the park and stuff. If you're saying anything because
- 35:50they can pick up audio from Oh yeah, are enough out where I'll be
- 35:53talking. He's like they can hear you in your potty mouth. Probably bad
- 36:00talking neighbors. No, I was just saying how beautiful their landscape was,
- 36:02and you know how I love their dogs and things like that. Britney Spears
- 36:09is still furious about this NBA incident that went down last week. She is
- 36:15now wanting a public apology from Wimby. Is that what we're calling the short
- 36:20nickname Victor wemban Yama seven foot five guys a total pencil you know who really
- 36:24got her going again. She heard a local radio host say that she deserved
- 36:29to be hit in the face for touching him, so she called them out
- 36:32for their opinion, explaining in all of her years of touring and being in
- 36:36the public eye around rowdy fans. Her security team has never taken things that
- 36:39far, she said, I've been with the most famous people in the world
- 36:43in sync at one time. Don't trust me, girl. I remember girls
- 36:46would like literally throw themselves at them on my way into a place. Actually,
- 36:51I was knocked down like by three twelve year old girls trying to get
- 36:54my picture. My security. Not once did they touch them or even come
- 36:59near them. Why is he even addressing you? Said a local radio show
- 37:04said this. Allegedly, they'll say anything to get a rise on people.
- 37:12Anyway, I hope that she gets the piece she's looking for. Really,
- 37:16just move on. Just want the first copy of the book. I just
- 37:20need to know what's in that book. October twenty fourth can't get here soon
- 37:22enough for me. Tom Cruise, he is showing up at movie theaters around
- 37:27the country. Mission Impossibles in theaters and he just popped in. He's like
- 37:30shaking hands, thanking everybody for going to see his movie. Imagine that situation.
- 37:36You think he'll be bopping over into Westacres? Is it is west Acre
- 37:39still there? And then there's Century ten? What about what about Safari in
- 37:45Morehead? That one's toast right. I think it's so. I don't know
- 37:50if that's pretty sure. It's like at church or something. Somebody seven two
- 37:52eight ninety seven it's Safari Movie Theater and more head still open. You think
- 37:55it's Safari Church. Now it's something. I don't know. I don't make
- 37:59it over there much, but it's it used to be on the Dollar Theater,
- 38:01which is just a glorious time to be alive. I remember going to
- 38:05a movie there once. I was the only one in the theater. Really
- 38:07had free rein in the place. Say, I remember that because my dad
- 38:10used to want to go take me to that theater for movies because it was
- 38:13so cheap. Oh, I just remember drivings, guys, drivings. Where
- 38:19were we driving in
