- 0:13Hello you guys, and welcome back to another episode of the Hawkerel Energy Podcast.
- 0:18I'm your host, Kayleie, and this is your weekly reminder that it's
- 0:20a new day, a new week, a new mindset, and another day
- 0:24for you to become the Hawkgrel energy you want to attract. Welcome back to
- 0:27another episode. I have obviously been not on the podcast for the past two
- 0:35weeks. I have not recorded an episode because, as you guys know,
- 0:38I was traveling. I was in Mexico for the week with my family,
- 0:43which I'm gonna have a bit of a recap on, and then literally I
- 0:46came home and not even twenty four hours later, I was off to Montreal
- 0:50with Zach and now I'm home. So the reason why there wasn't a podcast
- 0:56episode last week is because of me going to Montreal. I I didn't think
- 1:00there was enough time to record and edit an episode when I had to basically
- 1:03unpack, resort my life out, repack, and head somewhere else the following
- 1:08day. And it was also Thursday, so I came home on a Wednesday
- 1:12night. It was a Thursday when I got back to my place, and
- 1:18yeah, basically all day Thursday, I was just unpacking, repacking, you
- 1:23know, just doing a quick little travel reset, which really wasn't a reset,
- 1:26it was more so just getting my life in order. And then Friday,
- 1:30Zach and I left for Montreal for our anniversary weekend. And now we're
- 1:34here, it's Monday, and yeah, we're back in the groove of things,
- 1:40and I really wanted to make an episode kind of what's relating with my
- 1:42life right now, which is getting back into routine, resetting, just really
- 1:48yeah, getting back into things, because usually when you travel, you try
- 1:53to stay in a healthy routine. But let's be honest, like you indulge,
- 1:57you want to indul like you're on vacation, you should be able to
- 2:00do whatever you want. Obviously I wasn't working out much anything like that.
- 2:05So I'm going to share with you guys just some things I do to help
- 2:07me through my reset and just getting back into routine, into healthy habits all
- 2:13that. So this is everything I do when I get back from traveling and
- 2:16how I just get back into it asap. If my voice is sounding weird,
- 2:21I think it's because I'm kind of getting sick, which is very unfortunate.
- 2:23But I've been trying my best just to yeah, stay as healthy as
- 2:29I can, drinking fluids, resting all that, I would say, it's
- 2:32just, yeah, I'm just feeling overtired and all that. That's my fault
- 2:36for deciding to book an anniversary trip literally a day after being home from a
- 2:42week long trip. But hey, you know what, I don't regret it.
- 2:45Everything was fantastic. I had the most amazing week with my family in
- 2:47Mexico. I had a few questions as to why Zach didn't come on the
- 2:52trip, because usually he does come on my family trips with my parents and
- 2:54my sister. But Zach just got a new job about four weeks ago,
- 3:00so he really just could not take the time off for obvious reasons, and
- 3:06for our wedding, Zach is taking off the whole month of August, so
- 3:09like he can only do so much, which I totally understand, so he
- 3:14decided to obviously not come on the trip with us for obvious reasons. But
- 3:17you know what, it was a really really nice time to spend time with
- 3:21family. I feel like, you know, I usually see my parents,
- 3:23I want to say, like twice a week since I've moved out, Like,
- 3:25I try my best to make an effort to go see them, have
- 3:30a dinner with them every Sunday. That's something we do, whether I cook
- 3:32them dinner, they cook me dinner. It's just our Sunday ritual that we
- 3:36do every Sunday night. But other than that, like obviously, I'm not
- 3:40living at home, so I don't spend as much time with them. So
- 3:44the vacation felt really needed, and I think my parents really enjoyed my company
- 3:49there with them and then just enjoying quality time with my sister. It was
- 3:53a very relaxing trip. We literally just tanned all day by the pool,
- 3:57had some drinks, had some chips in guas I read, you guys would
- 4:01have been so proud of me. I literally almost finished the book. I'm
- 4:03almost done it. I'm determined to finish it, hopefully within the next week
- 4:08or two. I am reading Ugly Love. I am so obsessed with it.
- 4:13I think I'm more obsessed with it compared to the last book that I
- 4:15read, which was Meet Me at the Lake. I never actually finished that
- 4:18one because I don't know if I told you guys that I had it for
- 4:23my trip for Italy, and I read half of it and I somehow spilt
- 4:28a water bottle in my bag, and I had a paper copy of the
- 4:31book, and the ONONDR book got soaked and then once I air dried it,
- 4:38it got covered in mold, so I had to throw it out unfortunately.
- 4:42So what's funny is that when I purchased Ugly Love, my sister ended
- 4:45up purchasing Meet Me at the Lake. So my sister's actually reading that right
- 4:47now. So once she's done with it, I'm going to finish the book.
- 4:50That way, I can actually finish it. But I decided to read
- 4:55Ugly Love just because I was like, you know what, like i'd rather
- 4:58just start something else from the tr I didn't want to just like start back
- 5:00with the other one. I'm like, you know what, I do want
- 5:01to finish it, but because my sister bought it, I just thought,
- 5:04you know what, I will eventually finish it once she's done reading it.
- 5:09But I really really like Ugly Love, Like I actually am obsessed with it.
- 5:13So I'm really happy that I started to read that throughout the trip,
- 5:15and just I was addicted, Like literally the entire time I was standing,
- 5:18I was just reading, and it was such a nice break from being off
- 5:21my phone. So yeah, it was great and I tried to get as
- 5:25much content and as I could for videos and such for TikTok and Instagram,
- 5:29But honestly, guys, my account was acting up for some reason while I
- 5:32was in Mexico with my TikTok. It was not loading the videos, it
- 5:35wasn't uploading. It was really really stressful, to be honest. But I
- 5:39was able to upload a few videos after the fact, and yeah, I
- 5:43did what I could, but it is what it is. So I apologize
- 5:46for not having as much vacation content as I hoped just due to that account
- 5:49issue. But we're back and I'm happy to be back. It was a
- 5:54great trip. We were into Loom. We stayed at the Hilton to Loom
- 5:58Resort. I put all the information in a Instagram highlight, so if you
- 6:00guys want to see anything about my trip there, you guys can see it
- 6:04there. But the food was great, the staff was great. It was
- 6:08a pretty new resort. I think it was about two years old, so
- 6:11they still had some things that they were working on. Like. They didn't
- 6:15have the greatest entertainment in my opinion from previous resorts that I've been to,
- 6:19Like at night, you know how usually they have an entertainment staff, like
- 6:23there was entertainment, but it could be better, Like it wasn't the greatest.
- 6:27The staff that was really really nice, really great, the just the
- 6:30quality of the resort just overall ten out of ten, like absolutely stunning.
- 6:35I will say that was one of the nicest resorts I've been to in Mexico.
- 6:40But I'm actually going back. I don't know if I told you guys
- 6:44that, but I'm going back to Mexico for my birthday, which I'm actually
- 6:47going with a hotel, which I'm really excited about. I forget what the
- 6:50hotel is called, to be honest, but it's a wellness event that I
- 6:54got invited to, so I'm super excited about that. But yeah, I've
- 6:59never been into this hotel before, so apparently it's really really nice. It's
- 7:01owned by Nobu. You guys know what Nobu is. It's a chain of
- 7:05hotels and restaurants and it's like very well known. I'm sure you guys know
- 7:11Nobuu obviously, but it's owned by the same owner and as well as a
- 7:14hard rock cafe, so I'm expecting a very high end hotel from who has
- 7:18owned it. But I'm very very excited for that as well. But I
- 7:21love Mexico. It's such a beautiful place to be. I really did need
- 7:27the sun and I really needed a tan. Coming home and seeing my tan
- 7:30lines just makes me so happy, And yeah, there's nothing better than a
- 7:35fresh tan, let's be honest, girls. And I feel like I always
- 7:38get so much darker when I go to Mexico versus when I get a tan,
- 7:43like in the summer. I think it's because the UV is stronger over
- 7:46there versus here. So I don't know. I feel like this is the
- 7:48tann as I've ever been in my life. I've never been this dark before.
- 7:51Not complaining, but there was a bit of behind the scenes, and
- 7:56I never told you guys through social media just because I was like, I
- 7:59don't feel the need to share this, but I wanted to share it with
- 8:01you guys because there was a bit of a hiccup when I got home from
- 8:03the trip, to the point where I almost had to go to urgent care
- 8:07because it was that bad. I am pretty sure I'm allergic to the sun.
- 8:13Like fully, I am allergic to the sun. Like I thought it
- 8:16was a heat rash, but it was not. Based on my research.
- 8:20It basically was telling me that I had sun poisoning all over my body.
- 8:24So I came home. What I thought was a heat rash on my legs,
- 8:28just like bumps, hives, extremely itchy all that. It ended up
- 8:31spreading all over my body and like I took photos all weekend in Montrealogy,
- 8:37you guys thought, so it wasn't very noticeable, but I had it all
- 8:39over my hands. It started to spread on my face like it was pretty
- 8:43stressful. It wasn't very noticeable because it was just bumps, right, but
- 8:48it was so itchy, guys, like, so so itchy. Anyways,
- 8:52ended up going down just from applying alivera, taking cold showers, cold compress,
- 8:56like when I tell you I did everything, guys, took Benadryl,
- 9:01I took all the allergy medication you can think of. I took an oatmeal
- 9:03bath, an oatmeal bath, like, I literally did everything that Google told
- 9:07me to do, and eventually it started to go down. But for the
- 9:11past week I have been basically covered in hives, red, itchy, swollen,
- 9:16like it was. Yeah, not the best way to end the trip.
- 9:22But I can finally say starting yesterday it started to go down. Today
- 9:26is like it's basically gone. And I truly think it's just from doing all
- 9:30the things that Google told me to do. But my goodness, like when
- 9:33I got it started at the end of the trip. So it started last
- 9:39Tuesday, I think, and then by Wednesday when we were coming home,
- 9:41it was really bad, and then Thursday, Friday was pretty bad. Saturday
- 9:46it was getting a bit better when we were in Montreal, and then Sunday
- 9:50it was starting to get better as well. So it is what it is.
- 9:54I feel so much better now, But be careful with that sun,
- 9:56guys. I think I should have not gone so hardcore, Like obviously I
- 10:01tried to go in the shade. I never tann my face. I always
- 10:05have a hat whenever i'm tanning. But I think it was just from you
- 10:09know, not being exposed to the sun for like the past five months because
- 10:13of obviously being winter here in Canada and the sun hasn't been out that much,
- 10:18and then going straight to Mexico and then tanning for like, you know,
- 10:22five to six days straight and then just soaking up all the sunshine and
- 10:24all that. I think my body was kind of like, what the fuck
- 10:28are you doing? And it just gave me a rash everywhere. So that's
- 10:31that. But I'm feeling way better. It's all gone, So happy that's
- 10:35gone. And then Montreal was super fun. Zach and I. We celebrated
- 10:39our eleven years. Can we talk about that eleven friaking years? Like Zach
- 10:43and I were like, I can't believe it's been eleven years since twenty thirteen,
- 10:48Zach and I have been dating. And it was just a nice little
- 10:52weekend getaway. We stayed at the Four Seasons Hotel in Montreal, which if
- 10:56you have never stayed at this hotel, you need to stay this hotel.
- 10:58When I tell you it was the best service I've ever received in my life.
- 11:03The hotel room was stunnying. The hotel in general was stunnying. Like
- 11:07they were absolutely amazing. Like the staff was by far, like so attentive,
- 11:13like they just did everything for you. Our room was cleaned like five
- 11:18times within the day. Like you left the hotel room, you'd come back,
- 11:20like they folded your clothes, they had waters out for you, like
- 11:24just like the smallest little detail of things that you would not expect from a
- 11:28hotel, they just did. So I think they came in our room,
- 11:31like I said, three to four times that day, and we were just
- 11:35so shocked just to see how they just tidied up every single time. So
- 11:39yeah, it was such a nice little getaway. I love Montreal so much,
- 11:43and I met so many of you guys. Oh my goodness. I
- 11:48was so shocked and I was so happy. I went to Whole Renfrew and
- 11:52there was a girl that worked at the Whole Renfrew and she literally made my
- 11:54day. She was the sweetest human being. She was like, I'm I'm
- 12:00so happy I met you. I manifested this. I knew I was going
- 12:03to see you today, and it literally almost made me cry, just because
- 12:05I was like, are you kidding me? Like the fact you said that
- 12:07right now just put the biggest smile on my face. So I was so
- 12:11shocked, just you know, for her to be working at Holt and then
- 12:13helping Zach and I, oh, because we were looking for our wedding sense
- 12:18for our wedding. So she was super sweet. And then Zach and I
- 12:20went out for dinner at this amazing restaurant in Old Montreal. It's called Dante
- 12:28Marcella. I believe I will try and tag the restaurant in my most recent
- 12:33Instagram post because I tagged a photo of Zach and I or I posted a
- 12:35photo story of Zach and I with us holding hands at the restaurant. But
- 12:39by far the best Italian restaurant that I've ever been to, not even over
- 12:43exaggerating coming from an Italian myself. I love their food. That was a
- 12:48second time Zach and I have been there, and just again the stuff is
- 12:50so great and the restaurant vibes are so so sick. But anyways, it
- 12:54was someone's birthday. There was a group of girls there and two girls came
- 12:58over and they said, oh you Kayleie, like we follow you on TikTok
- 13:01all that, and I was like, oh my god, Like I didn't
- 13:03realize how many people in Montreal followed me. So so sweet that you came
- 13:09up to me and said Hi. I love when you guys do that.
- 13:11If you guys ever see me, please come up and say hi to me.
- 13:13It literally makes my day. And we're just busties, Like I just
- 13:16like love chatting with you guys, getting to know you, and you know,
- 13:20I'm just obviously very appreciated for you guys following me and all that and
- 13:24just following my life and being involved and supporting me and all that. So
- 13:26it was so great to meet all of you in Montreal who came up to
- 13:30me. You guys were the sweetest and it really did make my trip,
- 13:33so thank you for that. But yeah, all in all, it was
- 13:37a great weekend. And now we're home, and I'm happy to be home,
- 13:41Like I'm happy to be back with Freddie. I'm happy to be back
- 13:43in my own bed. Let's talk about sleeping in your own bed after not
- 13:48being in it for like two weeks. It's literally the best feeling ever.
- 13:52And yeah, just coming home to a clean home as well. I did
- 13:56clean the house up a bit before we left, just because I hate coming
- 13:58home to a messy home like that is like my biggest pet peeve. So
- 14:01having the house all nice and clean it was really nice. I had to
- 14:05do a bit of tidying up, just of like putting the dishes away from
- 14:07the dishwasher all that, but all in all, the house was in pretty
- 14:11good shape. And now we're here. Now we're trying to get back into
- 14:15a healthy routine because I have not really worked out in the past two weeks.
- 14:20Like I went to the gym at the resort in Mexico twice while I
- 14:24was there, But I don't know, I wouldn't say it was the most
- 14:26effective workout, Like I literally just did twenty minute workouts, quick and easy,
- 14:31just for me to move my body a bit. I walked every single
- 14:33day when I was in Mexico. But I had a few questions on Instagram
- 14:37like asking how I maintain a healthy lifestyle while I'm traveling, And to be
- 14:41honest, I try my best to continue to move my body, to continue
- 14:46to eat healthy foods, like I always try and make sure I have other
- 14:48vegetables or fruit, you know, walking all that. But I truly want
- 14:54to enjoy myself on vacation, so I don't want to restrict myself from any
- 14:58eating habits, Like I don't want to, you know, not indulge on
- 15:03the foods that I want to eat, because let's be honest, when you're
- 15:05on vacation, one of the key things is what you're eating on your trip.
- 15:09So for an example, one thing that I talk about when Zach and
- 15:11I went to Italy to go look at our wedding venues is I talk about
- 15:13some of the restaurants that we went to and how good the food was.
- 15:16And how amazing the tidomysou was or whatever. Like food is a part of
- 15:22the trip, Like, let's be honest, Like if you're not indulging,
- 15:24and if you're not eating the food that you want to eat, like,
- 15:26what's the only thing that's really memorable from the trip? Maybe seeing the sites?
- 15:30Like eating is a huge component of going on vacation. I find trying
- 15:33new foods, trying new restaurants, like it's something that people look forward to
- 15:39doing. Maybe it's just because I'm a foodie, but for me, I
- 15:41like to remember the things that I ate when I went on vacation. So
- 15:46I used to be that kind of person where I was super restrictive and I
- 15:48never really indulged on trips like oh I don't want to eat ice cream,
- 15:52that's too fattening or whatever. I am not that girl anymore. What I've
- 15:56realized is that it's such a short period of time of indulge. You're not
- 16:00going to gain all this week back from eating unhealthy for a week or a
- 16:04few days, Like you will get back into a routine when you get back
- 16:07home, and you will get back into your healthy habits. So for me,
- 16:11personally, indulge, eat what you want, Eat what makes you happy.
- 16:15I had dessert every single night. I had ice cream every single night.
- 16:18I enjoyed it so much. Did my body change No, I literally
- 16:22have not seen any difference. But it's not even about that at the end
- 16:25of the day, just eat what you want, eat what makes you happy,
- 16:26and then just know that when you get back home, you'll get back
- 16:30into your healthy habits, you'll get back into working out. So don't stress
- 16:33about it, just because I had a few questions about that, and I
- 16:34just really wanted to be truthful and honest, and yeah, I try my
- 16:38best, but the reality is you're on vacation and you want to enjoy yourself.
- 16:42So anyways, let's get into this episode. We're gonna be talking about
- 16:47how I'm getting back into routine after traveling for the past two weeks. So
- 16:52a lot of these things that I'm talking about some of the things I have
- 16:53already done. Some of the things I have not done or I'm still working
- 16:57on. But I try compose this list for myself of everything that I need
- 17:03to do when I get home from a trip in order for me to get
- 17:04back into routine. This could also be for someone who has struggled to get
- 17:08back into routine, just you know, might have been really busy with work
- 17:11or school and you're having a hard time creating a routine for yourself and getting
- 17:15back into a workout schedule. For an example, this would be a really
- 17:18good episode to listen to just to get back into that. So for me,
- 17:22the first thing that I do is that it's Monday. What I did
- 17:26this morning is I wrote out all my goals for this week. So what
- 17:29is everything that I have to get done this week? What is my biggest
- 17:32priority for each day? So I write out from Monday to Sunday, I
- 17:36write everything that I need to get done this week, whether it's work wise,
- 17:38personal wise, like housewise, what do I need to clean in the
- 17:42house, anything like that. That way I feel organized for the week,
- 17:45appointments, all that. I just feel like I'm ready to plan out my
- 17:51day for each day and just figure out Okay, Like Tuesdays are my podcast
- 17:55days, right, so usually I'm editing the podcast and all that. So
- 17:57just little things like that, keeping notes of what I have to get done
- 18:02for each day, and I like to write out those things on the Monday.
- 18:06That way I feel ready to take on the week, like I know
- 18:08what to expect, there's no surprises or anything. On the day of.
- 18:12It just also makes me feel like, okay, like I got my shit
- 18:15together starting on a Monday, like starting out fresh, starting out good.
- 18:21I then always like to plan out my workouts for the week, because I
- 18:23think this is one thing that people always struggle with when they get home from
- 18:26a vacation. Obviously, you're tired, you're exhausted, you feel like you
- 18:30don't have the energy to do a workout. But what I love is booking
- 18:33workout classes. I always always always try and book at least three workout classes
- 18:37that week, specifically when I get back from traveling. So I booked one
- 18:41today, so I'm actually going right after I'm recording this. I then booked
- 18:45two more this week, one on Saturday, and then I think the other
- 18:48one's on the Thursday, but I can't remember Thursday or Friday. So I
- 18:52did that because I was like, Okay, I want to do three spin
- 18:55co classes this week, so I booked that. I do want to try
- 18:57and get a pilates class in at the Playground Studios that I go to in
- 19:02Westboro, and then I like to also do a workout at home with form.
- 19:07So I like to work out four to five times a week. So
- 19:11I'm just pushing myself, to be honest, like I'm just getting back right
- 19:14into it, Like I'm not like going easy. I'm just pushing myself to
- 19:18get back into it because for me, booking workout classes are the best feeling
- 19:22and I feel so good after getting such a great sweat in, and it
- 19:26motivates me to work out again. It motivates me to book another class,
- 19:30like it just feels so good working out, and I don't know, I
- 19:33feel like that's my motivation, is just knowing how good I feel when I
- 19:36actually push myself to do a workout. So whether you're that kind of person
- 19:41that you only maybe work out twice a week or three times a week,
- 19:42that's what works for you at the end of the day, don't do four
- 19:45to five times a week if it doesn't work for you. Like that's what
- 19:48works for me and that's what I love to do. But if only working
- 19:51out two to three times a week works for you, that is totally fine
- 19:53too. I think just pushing yourself to do a workout is the most important
- 19:57thing because you will feel so good after just getting that good sweat in.
- 20:02I'm so excited to get that Spinko class and just have a great sweat and
- 20:07just sweat out all that food that I've ate this past week slash weekend.
- 20:11And yeah, just getting back into Spinko class is gonna make me so happy.
- 20:14I definitely had a good break for two weeks of not being in a
- 20:18class, but I'm excited to get back into it and get a good sweat
- 20:21in. Another thing I like to do is plan out my groceries and meal
- 20:26planning and all that. I think meal planning has been a huge game changer
- 20:30for Zach and I. Just knowing what we're gonna eat for dinners every single
- 20:33night. It allows me to you know, have a proper grocery list,
- 20:37not over by, and just know everything that we're gonna have the week is
- 20:41also very reassuring. So yeah, I don't know. I always love to
- 20:45get recipes off Pinterest. We have some go tos that Zach and I usually
- 20:48always have, Like one of our favorites is Marrying Me Chicken. We love
- 20:52to make pea pizza. We love to have usually one pass the dish a
- 20:56week. So I don't know, I really really enjoy doing that. I
- 21:00find it's been a huge game changer for Zach and I and I personally love
- 21:03home cooked meals. So I feel like for someone that is getting home from
- 21:08a trip, obviously you're kind of lazy, don't really want to make home
- 21:11cooked meals. But I think resorting back to your easy recipes and you know,
- 21:17getting that grocery shop done is worth it. Like it's not worth spending
- 21:21money on takeout. I think that's such a waste. And let's be honest,
- 21:23you obviously ate a bunch of shit when you're on the trip. So
- 21:26getting back into the home cooked meal routine and just yeah, cooking home cooked
- 21:33meals tastes so good when you get back from a trip. I feel like
- 21:36it just hits different. So whether you want to go to the grocery store
- 21:40and pick up the groceries yourself or do a grocery delivery. I have been
- 21:44a victim to this in the past, where I don't want to go grocery
- 21:47shopping, so I just order my groceries online and they actually deliver it to
- 21:49your house. But this time I do have time, So today I'm going
- 21:53grocery shoping right after Spinco I'm filming a whole travel reset get back into routine
- 21:57with me for TikTok, just like my normal weekly reset, but you know,
- 22:03post travel addition obviously. So yeah, just the first grocery shop back
- 22:07and the first workout will feel so nice. But usually if I didn't have
- 22:12the time, I would probably just deliver my groceries to the house because we
- 22:17have the convenience of doing that now since COVID, which has been you know,
- 22:21nice for some people who don't have the time to do grocery shopping.
- 22:25And also, as I said, like coming home from vacation, sometimes you
- 22:26don't have the time. Sometimes you're unpacking, you know, you're tidying up
- 22:30the house. You're just trying to get your life in order. And sometimes
- 22:33it's just easier to deliver your groceries. But delivering groceries is way better than
- 22:37ordering takeout food. So I don't think there's anything wrong with getting your groceries
- 22:42delivered to you. Okay, The next thing is unpacking. As I said,
- 22:47I make this a non negotiable whenever I come home, because if I
- 22:49do not unpack the first twenty four hours of being home, I will not
- 22:53do it like I will literally just leave it in my room for like a
- 22:56week and will not do it. That's just the reality. I don't know
- 23:00if anyone else is like that. So I always unpack asap. I organize
- 23:04all the clean clothes, all the dirty clothes, and then I do some
- 23:07laundry. I like to put my clothes and piles, like if you look
- 23:11at my upstairs right now, I have like literal piles of whites, colors,
- 23:15towels, like, whatever the case may be. And I just find
- 23:18it's really easy just to throw it in the laundry when I need to get
- 23:19a lot of laundry done. So yeah, right now it is a pretty
- 23:23chaotic mess up there. But I know once I get a bunch of loads
- 23:26of laundry done, it will feel so good. And yeah, it will
- 23:30feel so much more clean knowing that I have all this laundry done. But
- 23:33I think it's essential to unpack a SAP because you know you will not do
- 23:38it if you don't do it a SAP. So yeah, the next one
- 23:41is obviously laundry cleaning all your clothes. I also love to strip my bedding
- 23:45when I get home. I don't know why, I just feel like I
- 23:48need clean bedding when I get back from a trip. So I usually like
- 23:52to strip my bed clean it. So that's what I did yesterday and going
- 23:56into a clean bed. Oh, and then like your bed, you know,
- 24:00we haven't been in your bed in two weeks. It just feels so
- 24:02nice to be back in your own bed and just your own house. There's
- 24:06yeah, there's no better feeling. And then sometimes I like to do a
- 24:10quick little tidy up of the house. Like I said, I did do
- 24:12a little bit of a clean prior to leaving, but I did put you
- 24:17know, my dishes away from my dishwasher because we started it before we left.
- 24:21We had some dishes that we washed out on the counter that I had
- 24:23to put away. I also like to do a quick vacuum of the floors.
- 24:27There's just some you know, random stuff on my dining table that I
- 24:33should be putting in my room all that. So just like a quick little
- 24:34tidy up around the house I really like to do because it just makes the
- 24:37house feel so much better when you're walking into a clean space. Also,
- 24:42going into the week, having a clean space is essential. So yeah,
- 24:47I usually just like to do a quick little tidy up and making sure the
- 24:49house is all in sorts, because if the house is clean, my mind
- 24:53is clean. It's just something with my mindset. I don't know what it
- 24:57is, but I just need to have the house clean in order for my
- 25:00mind to be well functioned throughout the week. Another thing I tried to do
- 25:04when I come home is get back into a consistent water routine. I know
- 25:11water routine sounds weird, but what I mean by water routine is that I
- 25:15usually have three of my simple modern tumbler water bottles. I have three of
- 25:19those a day, and obviously I didn't have it on my trip, so
- 25:23I drank as much water as I could, but I do not think it
- 25:27was as much as what I typically drank in a day, So kind of
- 25:30getting back into that routine of being overly hydrated, just you know, keeping
- 25:36my water intake up. I'm also just feeling very exhausted coming home from a
- 25:40trip, and I think a lot of that has to do with dehydration.
- 25:42So I'm just trying to, yeah, drink as much water as I can
- 25:47and just keep up with, yeah, my water intake, and then getting
- 25:52back into taking my supplements. Because I was so mad at myself because I
- 25:56have all these travel supplements that I have in my and I forgot to grab
- 26:00it for my trip and I was so heartbroken. So my athletic greens,
- 26:04I have a travel pouch for that, my electrolytes, like forgot everything.
- 26:10So I was pretty upset about that, but it is what it is.
- 26:12So now I'm just trying to get back into taking my probiotic, my you
- 26:17know, greens, my electrolytes, my daily vitamins, all that. So
- 26:22trying to get back into that just because obviously I didn't have any of that
- 26:26while I was traveling unfortunately, so slowly trying to get back into that as
- 26:30well. Another thing I did yesterday which felt so nice coming home from Montreal
- 26:34is I took my everything shower. Oh my god. I love a good
- 26:38shower routine. It felt so nice just to come home have that shower.
- 26:42I've also been really into bodycare lately and I just got this body cream.
- 26:48Actually, the girl that I met at the holt Renfer she gifted me this.
- 26:53I think it's called bedrou. Is that he's pronounce the name. I
- 26:56think it's how that's how you pronounce it, Bedro. I'm can totally pronouncing
- 27:00it wrong, but it's that expensive perfume line. They have really good body
- 27:03lotions, body washes, all that very expensive. I'm not gonna lie,
- 27:07but this body cream smells, oh my gosh, amazing. And because my
- 27:14skin has been super dry from the whatever I had, sun poisoning, heat
- 27:18rash, whatever we want to call it, and also just from the tan.
- 27:22Right I'm peeling a little bit because I did burn in a few areas.
- 27:26I've been applying elo Vera every morning and every night, but I've also
- 27:27been applying body lotion and body cream. And I got out of my shower
- 27:33and I put this body cream all over my body for the first time,
- 27:36like not even smelling it, and holy crap, it was the best scented
- 27:41body cream I think I've ever put in my body. I cannot think of
- 27:44the name right now, but I will try and find it for you guys,
- 27:47and I'll tell you guys in the next episode. However, I did
- 27:49use the exact same brand at Four Seasons. They also had the be drou
- 27:53body lotion, and the scent that I used at that location was Gypsy water,
- 28:00which also smells amazing. Is what sounds amazing, smells amazing. I
- 28:06wanted to buy it, and then I tried this one when I got home,
- 28:07and I'm like, wait, this smells just as good. But yeah,
- 28:11it literally smells like I put perfume all over my body. I don't
- 28:14know if that's healthy or not, but I love it and I'm obsessed with
- 28:18it. It is my new favorite thing ever. And yeah, I felt
- 28:22really good to do right after my shower routine. I'm really starting to hear
- 28:26that my voice is getting sick and I'm so upset right now, so I'm
- 28:29gonna have to take something. But anyways, back to this, what are
- 28:34we doing next? Next? We are this is something that I should be
- 28:37doing, relaxing and just trying to stay in for the next few days.
- 28:41I'm trying to say no to plans this week just because I'm really just trying
- 28:47to focus on being back home, getting back from routine, just not wanting
- 28:52to overly socialize just by It's not I don't want to say like I'm like
- 28:56trying to turn plans down, but sometimes you have to say for your body
- 29:00and for your health. And right now, because I'm feeling a little ill,
- 29:04I do think it's important to rest, try and stand as much as
- 29:08possible, Like not overdo it. So if you have the luxury of doing
- 29:12that, it's important to rest your body and try to relax and just stay
- 29:18in And this next one is going to be super important for me right now,
- 29:22specifically and for anyone that does get back from a trip, is going
- 29:26to bed early and just getting back into your sleep schedule. For me,
- 29:30I definitely was out of walk with my sleep schedule. I was waking up
- 29:33early in Mexico because of the sunrise. We went to see the sunrise every
- 29:37single morning, which was one of the highlights of my trip because I love
- 29:41waking up when the sun is rising. But you know, I was going
- 29:45to bed pretty late, so we weren't getting much sleep specifically because we were
- 29:51waking up for the sunrise. And then when we were in Montreal, you
- 29:53know, again we were sleeping and going out late all that. So my
- 29:59body's kind of like, Kayleie, what is your sleep schedule? Are we
- 30:02going to bed early? Are we going to bed late? Are we waking
- 30:03up late? Are we waking up early? Like? What's going on?
- 30:06So I've been trying to make it a priority for this week to go to
- 30:10bed early, just really try and rest and just really try to get back
- 30:12into my sleep routine. As you guys know, I do have the hatch
- 30:15alarm clock, which has been a huge game changer for my sleep schedule.
- 30:21So I literally set it for when I'm going to bed, I put white
- 30:25noise on and I wake up to I think it's like the ocean or something
- 30:29like that, and it wakes me up every single morning at like six forty.
- 30:33I think. So, yeah, I'm slowly trying to get back into
- 30:36it. Yes, not gonna lie. I have hit this snooze button these
- 30:38past two days and I've slept in probably twenty minutes past my alarm. But
- 30:44it's not easy. That's the reality. You just kind of got to slowly
- 30:45get back into it. And I think the best thing you can do is
- 30:48just go to bed earlier and just really try and get back into that early
- 30:52morning routine. But that's everything that I've been trying to do, just to
- 30:56get back into routine and get back into the swing of thing. It's never
- 31:00perfect, let's be honest, that's the reality. But I'm happy that I
- 31:03am pushing myself to get back into my routine, to get back into the
- 31:07swing of things, because I know how good I feel when I am in
- 31:10routine, and I know these things make me feel good mentally, and yeah,
- 31:15it's just I know that this is what's best for me, is what's
- 31:18best for my health, and I just really try to make working out,
- 31:22eating healthy, you know, doing my grocery shop, cleaning my home,
- 31:26going to bed early, all that, like, all of this is really
- 31:30to help my mental health, to help myself out. And yeah, I
- 31:33truly just enjoy doing these things. So that's why I find it's kind of
- 31:37easy for me to get in my routine because I actually look forward to it.
- 31:40It was a nice break, but now I'm like, I want to
- 31:41get back into a routine. I look forward to getting back into it.
- 31:45So it's refreshing to get back into the swing of things. So that's what
- 31:49I'm doing this week, just slowly trying to get back into things. But
- 31:52I'm happy to be home. I'm happy to be back on the podcast.
- 31:56I miss talking to you guys, and I'm yeah excited for the next few
