[SPEAKER_01]: Sometimes a world looks like you ain't ever seen it before It's just behind never ending windows All you need is a door Searching for something to put a smile back on your face Just remembering unusual times I can come from an unusual place
0:30
[SPEAKER_01]: I need a partner for the ride Cause everybody needs a ride Such a bird is to the side Just ask See the word and I'll be there Just ask
0:49
[SPEAKER_01]: I know the greatest things in the life I'll come in a pair They say hindsight's 20, 20 That ain't far enough behind me So we can walk this sweetest honey I think hindsight's 19, 19 Isn't me to pretend I got a hand I can land Who's like you really need a friend Just ask
1:19
[SPEAKER_01]: Shit 90's shows dot me.
1:25
[SPEAKER_00]: Shit 90's shows taught me was not filmed before live studio audience.
1:31
[SPEAKER_02]: Are you ready to slay another day?
1:33
[SPEAKER_02]: So are we.
1:35
[SPEAKER_02]: Welcome back to Shit 90's show taught me.
1:37
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm just early in here with my co-host.
1:39
[SPEAKER_02]: Sarah, I'm very Sarah, how are you?
1:41
[SPEAKER_03]: Doing pretty good, I'm excited to be here with you on a sunny Sunday, so sunny Sunday.
1:49
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, we are, if you're listening to this, you'll know we're a little late this week, apologies, life stuff happens, you know what I mean?
1:57
[SPEAKER_02]: Life, we life and over here.
1:59
[SPEAKER_02]: But we're better late than never, as they say.
2:03
[SPEAKER_02]: So we're talking about Buffy.
2:05
[SPEAKER_02]: We're talking about season seven episode eight sleeper.
2:09
[SPEAKER_02]: And am I been in a bit of a sleepy episode?
2:13
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, yeah, I think that is how I feel as well and talking to you, one or two of our puppy friends, they feel the same way.
2:23
[SPEAKER_03]: I think it's hard because we're still like a little weary of spike in general and I don't think the babbling spike
2:33
[SPEAKER_03]: Has worked for us all season so to get a babbly spike focused episode is like a little rough because as much as, you know, spike did go to the end of the earth to get his soul back.
2:48
[SPEAKER_03]: We don't really care that he's in his big feels.
2:52
[SPEAKER_03]: No, all of the bad stuff that he's done.
2:55
[SPEAKER_03]: And I don't, I think I would have rather spike asked to become human than be a vampire with a soul, because he's just copied Angel.
3:08
[SPEAKER_03]: And I just think that's so stupid.
3:10
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
3:11
[SPEAKER_02]: None with you.
3:12
[SPEAKER_02]: I like, we get...
3:14
[SPEAKER_02]: a little bit more hinting as to what's going on with Spike this episode, which we'll talk about.
3:20
[SPEAKER_02]: But I, and obviously at the very least, I will say Sarah, something that we had big complaints about, early in covering Buffy, was like, it takes him forever to set up the big bad.
3:30
[SPEAKER_02]: It's like we don't know about anything about the big bad until like at least 12 or 13 episodes into a season.
3:36
[SPEAKER_02]: But we're in episode eight and we're like, we said at the big dad, like episode one of this season.
3:41
[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm grateful for that.
3:43
[SPEAKER_02]: So like the storyline does contribute to like the season long story arc.
3:51
[SPEAKER_02]: It's just more so it's like the babbling spike but it's gotten a little tired and a little old.
4:00
[SPEAKER_02]: kind of just don't care.
4:01
[SPEAKER_02]: So, and I knew this would happen where I said, like, ever since the whole, like, rape situation, I'm like, they could do whatever they want with Spike.
4:11
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not going to be able to forgive him for that.
4:14
[SPEAKER_02]: And that stayed pretty true.
4:16
[SPEAKER_02]: But we'll get into all of that.
4:20
[SPEAKER_02]: I do have, like,
4:21
[SPEAKER_02]: a theory or two on like how this is all functioning, um, but yeah, we have like basically we're picking up exactly where the last episode left off.
4:34
[SPEAKER_02]: So Buffy rushes over to Zander's apartment and it's like where is Spike?
4:39
[SPEAKER_02]: Like what's going on?
4:41
[SPEAKER_02]: Like he has sired someone like he's
4:44
[SPEAKER_02]: biting people, but they're like trying to figure out, well, how could that be possible?
4:48
[SPEAKER_02]: Because he has the chip, like he's supposed to be in pain if he hurts someone, and then they argue a little bit because Buffy is basically like, well,
4:58
[SPEAKER_02]: he's changed like I can tell he's changed and this is just giving flashbacks to like every romcom or like Dean drama where it's like I can change him.
5:09
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, you know, like he's changed.
5:13
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, very funny.
5:14
[SPEAKER_03]: I mean there's so many people out there that in real life again to that like hero complex about like
5:20
[SPEAKER_03]: say, choosing somebody because they can, they feel like they can help them or save them.
5:26
[SPEAKER_03]: But yeah, I think that, I mean, it is confusing about, because it's not only the chip, it's the soul, right?
5:34
[SPEAKER_03]: And like maybe even more so, like, like if he really wanted to punish himself, like there could have been a whole storyline about about like him, like purposely hurting himself,
5:45
[SPEAKER_03]: Um, yeah, like he's supposed to be soulful now.
5:49
[SPEAKER_03]: So like why would he be attacking?
5:51
[SPEAKER_03]: Um, so it is confusing for Buffy to be told this and I do like how Sanders and her will not be tricked.
6:01
[SPEAKER_03]: No more.
6:01
[SPEAKER_03]: You know, he said, how do you know that this is the truth.
6:04
[SPEAKER_03]: You know, like I understand That like what's the point of empire lying about like
6:11
[SPEAKER_03]: like a sire, like who sires you, but how do you know, because, you know, he's been doped before.
6:18
[SPEAKER_03]: So we got a question what were told, which I think is good, because I think everybody in this episode is questioning what they were told from the last episode, because the helm must be tricky.
6:33
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I, I also think they kind of handled this pretty horribly, like, if it's me and I have even a slight inkling that spike is turning humans to vampires, I'm immediately revoking any invitation he has into Xander's apartment.
6:54
[SPEAKER_02]: Like, enough of the living together, enough of the roommate situation.
7:00
[SPEAKER_02]: They're like, okay, well, Zander definitely has to work the next day.
7:04
[SPEAKER_02]: He has like a big construction situation happening.
7:06
[SPEAKER_02]: Let's bring the now human onya over to be alone with him in set apartment and watch him.
7:15
[SPEAKER_03]: Defense lists onya who does have wit and uh, um, uh, long.
7:22
[SPEAKER_03]: charm and a long time of experience, but now zero superpowers.
7:29
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and this is like bullshit, like you're putting on your indirect danger while Zander goes to work in Buffy basically like, tries to figure out what the hell's going on.
7:39
[SPEAKER_02]: And it's like, yeah, sure, Spike has to sleep, but
7:44
[SPEAKER_02]: It just feels so bad to be like, let's just lock on you up with this guy who may or may not be turning young women.
7:52
[SPEAKER_02]: Let's be very clear in demand buyers.
7:57
[SPEAKER_02]: This is this is horrible.
7:58
[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I wouldn't leave a woman with, like at this point anyway, but like it's just, I didn't like this.
8:05
[SPEAKER_02]: Let's, do you wanna talk about the onus stuff now because I do think it's very funny.
8:09
[SPEAKER_02]: This part I did enjoy this part of the episode.
8:11
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, sure.
8:13
[SPEAKER_02]: So, Anya has decided, instead of just sitting around and basically being his babysitter and calling Buffy when he leaves, or if he leaves, she is going to try snooping.
8:26
[SPEAKER_02]: So, I love this.
8:28
[SPEAKER_03]: You love a snooper.
8:29
[SPEAKER_03]: You love someone who's willing to snoop through people's things.
8:32
[SPEAKER_03]: Absolutely.
8:33
[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, she makes a good point because I learned this too in a recent television show that
8:41
[SPEAKER_03]: people, murders, serial killers like to keep trophies of their victims, whether any glass slides with droplets of blood, or I don't know, shoes, whatever the fuck people want to do.
8:57
[SPEAKER_03]: That was also in the little known show called Dexter.
9:00
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
9:01
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
9:01
[SPEAKER_03]: Thank a bunch of freaks.
9:03
[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, to be honest with you, I don't understand why serial killers do this anyway, because it's like
9:11
[SPEAKER_03]: If you're killing, fine, don't care.
9:13
[SPEAKER_03]: That's your business.
9:14
[SPEAKER_03]: But why are we holding onto direct evidence?
9:19
[SPEAKER_03]: It's so stupid.
9:20
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm happy to know where you stand on all of this, Sarah.
9:22
[SPEAKER_02]: If you're going to kill, but don't be dumb enough to keep evidence.
9:25
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, like the thing is, is like serial killers tend to have such an ego that they don't think they'll ever get caught.
9:33
[SPEAKER_02]: So they keep their little trophies.
9:36
[SPEAKER_03]: Usually hidden away from what I understand.
9:38
[SPEAKER_03]: In an air conditioner unit,
9:40
[SPEAKER_03]: But the thing is, is the texture is so stupid that like, because then they had, they found the glass slides and like, oh, Docs and his crazy glass slides.
9:51
[SPEAKER_03]: And then he doesn't change it up.
9:53
[SPEAKER_03]: He's like, I am going to make more glass slides.
9:56
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
9:57
[SPEAKER_03]: Then when LaGuerta finds a singular glass slide, she's like, it wasn't Docs.
10:04
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, the fuck.
10:04
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
10:05
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
10:06
[SPEAKER_02]: No, I'm with you.
10:11
[SPEAKER_02]: I think if you're going to keep trophies, this is not advice to seroculars, but if you're going to keep trophies from your victims, number one, they must be small, like I'm talking like a piece of jewelry.
10:23
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm talking like teeny tiny can hide away.
10:26
[SPEAKER_02]: Number two, they cannot contain DNA evidence from said victims.
10:31
[SPEAKER_02]: So things like blood or teeth or something like
10:35
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm just saying like you should be able to there's lean like there's a spider that's going up his little web right in your room right in front of me
10:47
[SPEAKER_03]: But the thing is, is that my rule is like, I don't kill spiders.
10:50
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, I don't either.
10:51
[SPEAKER_03]: I try to let them be free, but like, don't be right in front of me.
10:55
[SPEAKER_02]: Climbing up your creepy little web.
10:57
[SPEAKER_02]: I was driving the other day and, you know, those tiny, like, like, jumping spiders, those, it's like the tiniest disease.
11:04
[SPEAKER_02]: And it's a bit scary.
11:05
[SPEAKER_02]: And it's a bit scary.
11:06
[SPEAKER_02]: But here's the spider's play.
11:08
[SPEAKER_02]: it was I'm driving and I looked down and it was on my watch on my wrist and I was like startled just for a second because there's a bug on your arm you know but then I was like oh my god he's so cute so tight is your toss not the window no of course not I was driving very fast he would probably die wow it's like jumping out of a plane for humans um woo anyway yeah if you're gonna keep
11:32
[SPEAKER_02]: trophies from your kills.
11:35
[SPEAKER_02]: I just think it has to be something that both doesn't have DNA evidence and it's small enough where you can stash it away very easily.
11:42
[SPEAKER_02]: A pebble.
11:44
[SPEAKER_02]: But that's not significant.
11:45
[SPEAKER_02]: I think the thing is these weirdos like it to be something that is directly tied to the people I like outside the house.
11:56
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm like, I love that idea.
11:58
[SPEAKER_02]: I just don't think that would be enough for these sickos because they like to look back at them and like get their jollies, you know?
12:05
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, I'm gonna just didn't really find anything like even though she's investigating, she does not really find anything because she gets caught right away because yeah, she goes like right into the room.
12:17
[SPEAKER_03]: And once again, I would check in his old crypt, spiced old crypt or underneath the school
12:24
[SPEAKER_03]: like obviously, and that is where he wound up hiding his trophies, that's where, like he's not going to bring his trophies right directly into the nightstand of the drafting room.
12:40
[SPEAKER_02]: Exactly.
12:41
[SPEAKER_02]: Honestly, the only reason they had this scene in my opinion is because they're like, how can we get a half-naked spike?
12:50
[SPEAKER_02]: Like, okay, because tell me the draping of the blanket or sheet or whatever was not so deliberate where it's just enough to where you know he's not wearing
13:07
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I mean, it was pretty deliberate and yeah, we need to get our shirtless spike content.
13:15
[SPEAKER_03]: You know all the people watching were like, oh, I got it.
13:18
[SPEAKER_02]: Look at it.
13:19
[SPEAKER_02]: It's so close to his show in his dick.
13:22
[SPEAKER_02]: Like, you know, you know, they were.
13:24
[SPEAKER_03]: not interested, but, no, me neither, but I'm just saying that's what everyone was saying.
13:30
[SPEAKER_03]: Hopefully they enjoyed it, then I'm glad for you.
13:32
[SPEAKER_02]: Happy for you.
13:33
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
13:34
[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, like, I knew it was pretty funny in the scene.
13:37
[SPEAKER_03]: Like, he was like, what are you doing here?
13:38
[SPEAKER_03]: And she was like, I'm here to fuck you.
13:41
[SPEAKER_03]: This is, yeah, let's get it on.
13:44
[SPEAKER_03]: You big bad boy.
13:45
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, she's, and he is like, I don't want to have sex with you right now.
13:51
[SPEAKER_03]: And she goes into a
13:54
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I love the you think I'm fat either that or it's my haircut and I love how it's like he's in a no-win situation.
14:02
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, he's like It's not the haircut like that's a good haircut, but also it's it might be the haircut.
14:09
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm not going to lie it might be the haircut.
14:11
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh
14:12
[SPEAKER_03]: Poor Ania.
14:13
[SPEAKER_03]: No, it's because he has a soul and it makes him feel bad to think that he would hook up with her.
14:19
[SPEAKER_03]: And that was like one of the things besides the rapes that like Buffy didn't like and I mean that sounds so like nonchalant, but yeah, I'm I think I think it's that, but I also think
14:37
[SPEAKER_02]: that he's still like quote unquote in love with Buffy.
14:42
[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
14:42
[SPEAKER_02]: Based on the fake Buffy that we see in this episode.
14:47
[SPEAKER_02]: And so he's not kind of just going to sleep with anybody.
14:49
[SPEAKER_02]: At least not when he's in his own mind, his right mind, or whatever you want to call it.
14:54
[SPEAKER_02]: So he ends up leaving an onion immediately calls Buffy just to let him know, like, hey, he's on the move.
15:01
[SPEAKER_02]: We follow a lot of spike this episode, doing different things.
15:07
[SPEAKER_02]: Again, like when he's in his right mind and when he isn't because we see him digging a hole in the ground and it appears to be Underneath the school in the basement in like like you said in my opinion like Xbox the motherfucking spot people like why are we not Like here in spikes crypt in my opinion or definitely the top two places you should be investigating.
15:28
[SPEAKER_03]: I think they lost the filming privileges to film in the crypt because no crypt has been found.
15:36
[SPEAKER_02]: That's true.
15:36
[SPEAKER_02]: They did have a bit of an issue with it when Willow, when All Dark Willow, but it wasn't destroyed.
15:43
[SPEAKER_02]: It was definitely able to be fixed.
15:45
[SPEAKER_02]: It's just a crypt.
15:46
[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, how much structure all the image can you do to a crypt?
15:49
[SPEAKER_02]: Just a crypt.
15:52
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
15:53
[SPEAKER_03]: So we follow, we follow.
15:55
[SPEAKER_03]: So there is a musical element that I feel like in chance,
16:01
[SPEAKER_03]: the spike?
16:02
[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, and here is something that I wanted to make note of because I agree with you.
16:07
[SPEAKER_02]: We, there are multiple times this episode where we hear music that is almost like a cue for spike to switch the flip to switch into bad, bad, bad spike, VAM spike, whatever.
16:21
[SPEAKER_02]: The first one when Buffy is following spike when he's out and about being a guy playing a harmonica.
16:28
[SPEAKER_02]: and maybe I'm wrong, but this guy looked kind of like that fake old zander from the wedding episode to me.
16:36
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, I just think he may not be, but I think it's just old white guy, but it could be old white guy blindness, right?
16:43
[SPEAKER_02]: Fake fake fake, no, old, you know what I mean?
16:45
[SPEAKER_02]: I can't, I can't get discern who's who, but he did look kind of like him.
16:50
[SPEAKER_02]: And it makes a lot of sense, right,
16:56
[SPEAKER_02]: the last episode, the person that spike sires was a singer at the bronze.
17:06
[SPEAKER_02]: So like music involved there.
17:09
[SPEAKER_02]: Secondly, when you think of like hip no sis and like an memory and stuff like that, music and sound have a big impact on those things.
17:20
[SPEAKER_02]: So it makes sense to me that and it can be kind, it can go unnoticed.
17:24
[SPEAKER_02]: It's like, if music's just playing, you're not really thinking twice about it, you know?
17:28
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
17:28
[SPEAKER_03]: That's a good point.
17:29
[SPEAKER_03]: That's a really good point.
17:31
[SPEAKER_02]: So I do agree with you.
17:32
[SPEAKER_02]: I think music is involved.
17:34
[SPEAKER_02]: And I think maybe this harmonica guy is someone we are supposed to either keep an eye on or are supposed to know, but maybe he's just an old white dude.
17:41
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, the harmonica guy is probably the shape shifter.
17:48
[SPEAKER_03]: So the shape shifter turns to buffy that turns to spike.
17:53
[SPEAKER_03]: That turns to glory that turns to everybody else like we know it's interesting because like earlier you had said that we know who the big bad is We don't like we see we are assuming that it's right like we've not seen it's true No, we just know we we know that it has certain abilities.
18:14
[SPEAKER_02]: We've seen it already in terms of like
18:18
[SPEAKER_02]: We have, it was in the premiere, even if it was in the forms of prior big bads.
18:24
[SPEAKER_02]: Like, we know who is going to be the big bad of the season, and it is whatever entity that is.
18:28
[SPEAKER_02]: Like, whether it be like from Terminator 2, where they turn into goo, and then can shapeshift into other things, or if it's like some sort of weird ghostly thing because I believe, right, there's been instances where like spike is the only one who sees it.
18:49
[SPEAKER_02]: be to show itself, reveal itself upon its own choice, right?
18:55
[SPEAKER_02]: And selectively, like it doesn't have to be everyone in the room at once, which is interesting and like makes me wonder, like in terms of like a,
19:05
[SPEAKER_03]: corporeal being or you know what I mean like how physical it actually is.
19:10
[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe it's not but that's so confusing.
19:13
[SPEAKER_02]: It's very confusing.
19:15
[SPEAKER_02]: Um, but yeah, we like at least we're aware of like.
19:20
[SPEAKER_02]: a little bit about this big bad, right?
19:22
[SPEAKER_02]: We're not complying completely blind.
19:24
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, they are.
19:25
[SPEAKER_03]: Like, I don't know how they're going to research.
19:27
[SPEAKER_03]: So like, we got to research.
19:28
[SPEAKER_03]: It's like, what are you gonna research?
19:30
[SPEAKER_03]: Like, there's nothing to research.
19:33
[SPEAKER_02]: The good news is I feel like Willow is on the cent, right?
19:38
[SPEAKER_02]: Like, Willow, Willow knows that joys wasn't joys.
19:43
[SPEAKER_02]: that uh Tara or that girl was blonde girl wasn't yeah wasn't blonde girl Maggie Cassie Cassie Cassie Cassie she knows that okay these people weren't who they said they were it was the big bad like the one we knew was coming the devours from beneath you each your ass situation like we know that's the big bad it's just like
20:09
[SPEAKER_02]: Ultimately, what is this thing's goal?
20:11
[SPEAKER_02]: Because I think we were on to something.
20:14
[SPEAKER_02]: I feel like it was last episode.
20:15
[SPEAKER_02]: I don't feel like, while we recorded.
20:18
[SPEAKER_02]: We talked about the fact that Spike is being manipulated to create a vampire army, right?
20:26
[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, that seems like what he's been up to like he he's we see Buffy following him He's like he meets a girl in line after years the harmonica playing brings her back for some dumpster make out sessions Which we know he's a big fan of loves a dumpster make out just go to the dumpster I mean you haven't tried it Jess.
20:45
[SPEAKER_02]: It might be really good dumpsters are stinky and here's the thing.
20:50
[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
20:50
[SPEAKER_02]: Am I dumb?
20:51
[SPEAKER_02]: Do vampires have like
20:53
[SPEAKER_02]: a heightened sense of smell or no.
20:55
[SPEAKER_03]: I think that I've heard that before, I just don't know if it's with it.
21:00
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know if these vampires do.
21:03
[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, because I know how badly a dumpster smells regularly, especially if it's like near any sort of like,
21:11
[SPEAKER_02]: you know restaurant or like you know lots of shops and stuff like it's going to stinky and then you're going to go make out by it like I'm sorry the ambiance is not there it's not it it's not it, it's not it.
21:25
[SPEAKER_03]: Which he likes it maybe he's kind of like me and just does not have a good sense of smell so it doesn't bother him.
21:33
[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, question, did your sense of smell get better when you were pregnant?
21:37
[SPEAKER_02]: Because I know it works really bad, really, really bad.
21:40
[SPEAKER_02]: It really couldn't smell.
21:41
[SPEAKER_03]: No, I couldn't smell.
21:42
[SPEAKER_02]: Did you have like the congestion issue?
21:43
[SPEAKER_02]: Because that's the thing too, yeah.
21:45
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, like I was basically not able to breathe through my nose, nor smell anything for like the entire pregnancy.
21:56
[SPEAKER_03]: wild.
21:57
[SPEAKER_02]: Um, that's horrific.
21:59
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
22:00
[SPEAKER_02]: I normally I wouldn't want to make out next to a dumpster.
22:03
[SPEAKER_02]: It's just like so disgusting.
22:05
[SPEAKER_02]: But he's doing it, whatever, whatever.
22:08
[SPEAKER_02]: We see a, a buffee approach spike.
22:12
[SPEAKER_02]: It's not our buffee, but it's a yaffee.
22:15
[SPEAKER_03]: Right.
22:16
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
22:16
[SPEAKER_03]: And she's like, do it.
22:17
[SPEAKER_03]: It's so hot.
22:19
[SPEAKER_02]: You know, you want it.
22:20
[SPEAKER_02]: You know, I want you to.
22:22
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and he's not just right mind because obviously I think that if you really thought about it, he'd be like, hmm, once again, not my buffet, not my buffet would want this.
22:32
[SPEAKER_03]: But yeah, but my, because like my heart on for buffet is so ragingly hard and big and tall that I must, and all the descriptors, I simply must bite this girl.
22:49
[SPEAKER_02]: go stuffy or like big bad buffy.
22:52
[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know what you want to call fake buffy like what are we coming up with our own name for the big bad because I'm going to confuse like I need to have a name that we could call them.
23:01
[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know what would be like a like a shape shifter like what's a famous shape shifter.
23:09
[SPEAKER_03]: You know what I mean?
23:10
[SPEAKER_03]: Girl, I don't know.
23:12
[SPEAKER_03]: You want me to go tap into my mouth.
23:14
[SPEAKER_03]: Wait, wait, I knowledge right now.
23:17
[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, isn't what the blue one, mystique.
23:21
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, yeah, Mystique.
23:22
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
23:22
[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
23:23
[SPEAKER_02]: So Mystique is the big bad for now for now.
23:25
[SPEAKER_03]: All right.
23:25
[SPEAKER_03]: Until we fall.
23:27
[SPEAKER_03]: I'll sign myself up to Jennifer Lawrence is right here.
23:31
[SPEAKER_02]: Great.
23:33
[SPEAKER_02]: So Mystique basically is spikes fluffer.
23:38
[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
23:38
[SPEAKER_02]: It's like I'm going to get you vampy hard.
23:42
[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
23:43
[SPEAKER_02]: by being like, yeah, there's my guy, you look at you vampy face.
23:48
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, yeah, exactly.
23:50
[SPEAKER_03]: And he's like, I am performing right now.
23:53
[SPEAKER_03]: I will do it.
23:55
[SPEAKER_03]: And then he turned he bites her.
23:58
[SPEAKER_03]: And then he, like, first second, does he, like, realize what he's doing?
24:02
[SPEAKER_02]: And then, yeah, well, this is interesting is I'm like, why did the spell, whatever, that he's underbreak then, because
24:11
[SPEAKER_02]: It seems to me at least that when like earlier in the episode, I don't think he thinks he's lying.
24:19
[SPEAKER_02]: Like, I don't think he realizes what he's done.
24:22
[SPEAKER_03]: He forgot.
24:23
[SPEAKER_03]: He forgets he's living like that a lot.
24:26
[SPEAKER_03]: You know what, it's like a classic, I don't remember.
24:29
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know.
24:30
[SPEAKER_02]: Like how can you he's like I'm my guilty if I can't remember this these are one of those things where it's like you turn to your like partner and you're like what you think about and they're like nothing and you're like you're lying.
24:41
[SPEAKER_03]: What are you actually thinking about like normally are because they're just think like my husband is thinking literally about sports
24:50
[SPEAKER_02]: see that's not the generally that's not the case with mine although I will say there are times around like oh what are you watching when you're doing and it is like mats related and he doesn't tell me because he knows I don't care.
25:06
[SPEAKER_02]: But we did actually be an out to short sports story.
25:10
[SPEAKER_02]: Wow, that was a difficult three words to say in a row.
25:14
[SPEAKER_02]: Short sports story.
25:16
[SPEAKER_02]: We went to dinner last night and it's like an Italian place.
25:21
[SPEAKER_02]: What'd you order?
25:22
[SPEAKER_02]: chicken parm because it's an Italian place.
25:25
[SPEAKER_02]: It was okay.
25:26
[SPEAKER_02]: It was good.
25:27
[SPEAKER_02]: The situation itself was infuriating because this place apparently is like the best thing since fucking slice bread, so everyone is there and they don't take, they don't let you do reservations unless you have like a larger party.
25:38
[SPEAKER_02]: What's the quote?
25:39
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not going to tell you this because they'll I'm
25:51
[SPEAKER_02]: like they have two separate parking lots, and then like the building is in the middle of it, right?
25:57
[SPEAKER_02]: And you had to like go back out and you could, I could not find a spot.
26:01
[SPEAKER_03]: And all like garden isn't it?
26:02
[SPEAKER_03]: You fucking cheap ass biz.
26:04
[SPEAKER_03]: No, all of the...
26:06
[SPEAKER_03]: So it's yeah, it's Italian right now.
26:09
[SPEAKER_03]: It's an old garden.
26:11
[SPEAKER_03]: And then you parking lots is like the chilies parking lot.
26:15
[SPEAKER_02]: But yeah, I didn't even get my goddamn breadsticks.
26:19
[SPEAKER_02]: Um, so I'm like turn around in different panelists.
26:21
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm getting irritated.
26:22
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm like, we'll run in and see what the wait time is.
26:24
[SPEAKER_02]: Because you know there's going to be one at this point with the parking lot.
26:26
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm looking like this.
26:27
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
26:27
[SPEAKER_02]: He runs in.
26:28
[SPEAKER_02]: He's like, they say 45 minutes at this point in the day.
26:31
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm just going to vote for warn you.
26:33
[SPEAKER_02]: I had not eaten lunch.
26:35
[SPEAKER_02]: We're approaching 5 p.m.
26:36
[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
26:37
[SPEAKER_02]: Didn't eat lunch had a mid-morning bagel for breakfast.
26:42
[SPEAKER_02]: Had a little bit of a snack later on and no lunch.
26:46
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm also pregnant.
26:47
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
26:47
[SPEAKER_02]: And so by the time it's 5 p.m.
26:50
[SPEAKER_02]: I could kill a man.
26:51
[SPEAKER_02]: Like I get actually kill a man like I'm so hungry.
26:54
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm gonna die and he comes back out and they're like they say 45 minutes and I'm like fuck this place Like I'm not waiting for you burned it on fire and that's why you don't want to talk to yourself And then I said the plays on fire so then I drive like we drive and where we were I'll just keep in mind like
27:10
[SPEAKER_02]: there's not like a ton of other places around so like we're driving we're checking other places out and at this point I'm pissed so nothing sounds appetizing to me I'm just like angry about the entire situation by that time we like get like we're like still driving around they text him like and it's only been like 20 minutes yeah and I'm like it's fuckers life so then I had to go back to the fucking parking lot and find a god damn
27:34
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah, and I was so angry with the entire thing and the food was pretty good, but it was like weirdly freezing in there and you know me like I run hot Yeah, so for me to say that means a lot and it was because of like air vent thingy, but yeah, you're under the Yeah, but the food was good, but the whole point of the story that I started was that there were TVs on the walls and lots of sports were happening Like there's like all kinds of apology sports and whatever else
27:59
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, there's like a couple football sports that are college and then there's a baseball one and I was like Oh, well, you sat on the wrong side of the booth because I have the perfect view of the Philly's Met's game Yeah, and they ended up I think they ended up winning the game.
28:13
[SPEAKER_02]: I haven't asked, but I'm pretty sure they ended up winning Did you offer to switch with him?
28:17
[SPEAKER_02]: I did.
28:18
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, he just said he up and he nodded so they did win the game
28:21
[SPEAKER_02]: Um, okay.
28:23
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm just going to try to play a game with him, but he didn't want to play where he had to guess what happened based on the reaction to my face.
28:29
[SPEAKER_03]: That's something terrible again.
28:32
[SPEAKER_03]: What did I'm looking at the menu now?
28:33
[SPEAKER_03]: What did he order?
28:34
[SPEAKER_03]: Um, he got like the barata pasta or something.
28:39
[SPEAKER_02]: It had like a cheese on it.
28:41
[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't order that because we also had no cell service for some freaking reason.
28:46
[SPEAKER_02]: So I couldn't Google whether I could have Varada cheese because as a pregnant person, they basically want you to starve yourself because you can't eat any good foods.
28:54
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
28:54
[SPEAKER_02]: Um, so, and I was really upset because we really wanted to aren't Cheney.
28:59
[SPEAKER_02]: Um, what you'd be having had aren't Cheney.
29:01
[SPEAKER_02]: It is like, yeah, you can eat Varada.
29:10
[SPEAKER_02]: Um, I also can't have any fun drinks, which is sad, so I ordered a Shirley Temple.
29:14
[SPEAKER_03]: That's pretty fun.
29:16
[SPEAKER_02]: It's super fun.
29:18
[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, I don't know.
29:19
[SPEAKER_02]: I told that entire story for like, I think the sports reason, but now it's like, yeah, yeah.
29:23
[SPEAKER_02]: Exactly.
29:24
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
29:25
[SPEAKER_03]: Tell.
29:25
[SPEAKER_03]: The chicken part was okay, but I've had, we'll set our chicken part closer to me.
29:29
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, some people see that you can't provide.
29:31
[SPEAKER_02]: It depends if it's past your eyes, but that's the thing that they always say, and literally live in New York State, like I've never encountered unpassed your eyes cheese where I live.
29:39
[SPEAKER_02]: So like, I think it would be very,
29:42
[SPEAKER_02]: uh rare that I wouldn't counter on pasture ice cheese.
29:45
[SPEAKER_03]: This place looks pretty pretty good.
29:47
[SPEAKER_03]: I would go here.
29:49
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I think next time we decided we're going to get like pizza or something.
29:51
[SPEAKER_02]: Because they, that's very good.
29:54
[SPEAKER_02]: There's a lot of pizza.
29:55
[SPEAKER_02]: Their sister restaurant is even closer to us and it's more known for its like pizza.
30:00
[SPEAKER_02]: And they have really good crust.
30:01
[SPEAKER_02]: It's like a garlicy um they like season the crust very well.
30:05
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
30:07
[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, that was a really long story that I don't even know how we got here, but right, so Mystique is Spike's Fluffer and he's like, yeah, he like wakes up in the middle of this and like basically just like drops the body and leaves like, yeah, okay bro.
30:28
[SPEAKER_02]: Um, and even creepier is mystique then turns into spike and it's like, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
30:36
[SPEAKER_03]: So exactly.
30:38
[SPEAKER_03]: What can can be done about this not much.
30:42
[SPEAKER_03]: We can't I mean, here's the thing.
30:45
[SPEAKER_02]: If I'm the Scoobies, I'm literally like locking spike up and throwing away the key like.
30:50
[SPEAKER_02]: You now have proof like Buffy's like, okay, she put she's not a bad and it's basically like did you kill this girl or did you turn her into a vampire?
30:59
[SPEAKER_02]: And Spike has the audacity to be like, oh, you're just jealous.
31:07
[SPEAKER_03]: She might be, she was a little jealous.
31:09
[SPEAKER_03]: She was a little jealous.
31:10
[SPEAKER_03]: And he's like,
31:14
[SPEAKER_03]: So he's like, I don't remember what you're talking or anything.
31:19
[SPEAKER_03]: He's like, I remember talking to the girl.
31:21
[SPEAKER_03]: I remember making out what the girl.
31:24
[SPEAKER_03]: But I do not remember what you're talking about with afterwards.
31:29
[SPEAKER_03]: He's like, so then he's like, that is probably an issue.
31:32
[SPEAKER_03]: That's probably something that I should check out.
31:35
[SPEAKER_03]: So then he does his own investment in the investigative journalism.
31:40
[SPEAKER_03]: and realizes that, um, I mean, it might be a problem.
31:45
[SPEAKER_03]: It's, it's an, it's an issue.
31:46
[SPEAKER_03]: So he runs into this other girl at the bronze that he hooked up with and turned into a vampire who's coming on to him and then, um, I don't know, more singing at the bronze.
32:01
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and she basically, like, says, oh, will you sideward me like a few nights ago?
32:08
[SPEAKER_02]: Let's feast.
32:08
[SPEAKER_02]: Let's like close the doors on the bronze and tear everyone apart, basically.
32:13
[SPEAKER_02]: He, I did like, I thought the action of this scene was fun because he like tosses her over the railing, but then like stakes her as it's happening.
32:26
[SPEAKER_02]: So like,
32:27
[SPEAKER_02]: You kind of like, you may be slightly here like a crash, but because she turns to dust like so immediately, everyone gets distracted for like a hot second and then it's like back to doing their thing.
32:37
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah.
32:38
[SPEAKER_02]: I just thought like the technical aspect of that was very fun.
32:43
[SPEAKER_02]: But yeah, it's,
32:44
[SPEAKER_02]: It's really interesting because when Buffy's been following him, she talks to a bouncer and basically he thinks the bouncer thinks that Buffy is like dating spike.
32:55
[SPEAKER_02]: And it's like don't be with him like he leaves here every night with like a different girl.
33:00
[SPEAKER_03]: There's like eight different girls.
33:02
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
33:03
[SPEAKER_03]: And and she's like, I mean, it's it's both like she's like upset because he's
33:10
[SPEAKER_03]: talking to all these girls, but also that he might be like siren slash murdering slash, whatever.
33:16
[SPEAKER_03]: So then these, these do some research because they're like, oh, is there like 10 murder girls hanging around?
33:24
[SPEAKER_03]: No, but there's 10 missing girls.
33:28
[SPEAKER_03]: Right.
33:28
[SPEAKER_03]: Right.
33:29
[SPEAKER_02]: So all these women are going missing and are they all blonded to you?
33:33
[SPEAKER_02]: I can't remember if that was an aspect of it.
33:35
[SPEAKER_02]: No.
33:36
[SPEAKER_02]: No.
33:36
[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
33:36
[SPEAKER_02]: And my head was me.
33:38
[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
33:39
[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think so.
33:41
[SPEAKER_02]: But spike does call her and it's like, hey, I'm remembering like things I've done.
33:48
[SPEAKER_02]: Can you, can you meet me somewhere?
33:51
[SPEAKER_02]: And I immediately am like, girl, I don't go alone.
33:53
[SPEAKER_02]: Like, don't go alone.
33:54
[SPEAKER_02]: What are you doing?
33:55
[SPEAKER_02]: But of course she
33:57
[SPEAKER_02]: And while she's there, we have like mystique spike harassing real spike and basically being like, we'll work around this.
34:10
[SPEAKER_02]: Don't worry about it.
34:12
[SPEAKER_03]: And right, because like it was supposed to, they had a big plan and it was supposed to be
34:20
[SPEAKER_03]: in time but now right now like he has brought her to the location where all the bodies are literally buried and some basement of some house where like there's a bunch of bodies which again like girl don't follow him into a creepy basement but whatever
34:38
[SPEAKER_02]: uh yeah, I assume we I guess we can kind of presume the plan was like raise a vampire army overwhelm Buffy and my assumption would be the vampires are very much a distraction for Buffy while mystique takes over whatever the hell you know yeah I think that's right like if you don't it's correct if you have enough
35:01
[SPEAKER_02]: It's like anything.
35:02
[SPEAKER_02]: Like if you have enough of a mob of something, even if they're not very skilled, um, sheer volume of numbers, they could win the battle.
35:11
[SPEAKER_02]: So, um,
35:14
[SPEAKER_02]: then right so real spike is like showing buffy all the bodies of like that he's buried because he's killed them and we get this mystique spike singing this tune again yeah that hypnosis of some sort to happens yeah
35:35
[SPEAKER_02]: a VNB spike comes out, attacks Buffy, cuts her arm, then I did like, I did think this scene was like cool again.
35:43
[SPEAKER_02]: I think technically it was like a like a technical scene, it was very cool.
35:47
[SPEAKER_02]: We're like, you start to see all the people he's buried, like punching up through the dirt and like starting to attack Buffy.
35:53
[SPEAKER_02]: I thought that was like very fun, you know, like a fun way to have a VNB fight.
36:01
[SPEAKER_02]: So Buffy is like trying to fight them and there's just too many.
36:06
[SPEAKER_02]: They're overwhelming her and then they hold onto her.
36:09
[SPEAKER_02]: She still has this like cut that's bleeding.
36:12
[SPEAKER_02]: And Mystique's bike is again being like very fluffy.
36:16
[SPEAKER_02]: And it's like, don't you want to lick her blood?
36:20
[SPEAKER_02]: Don't you want to taste her?
36:22
[SPEAKER_02]: She tastes so good, yeah.
36:25
[SPEAKER_02]: Nasty and he does lick her.
36:26
[SPEAKER_03]: He does lick her arm.
36:28
[SPEAKER_03]: Um, but I don't know.
36:30
[SPEAKER_03]: Like isn't too bad.
36:33
[SPEAKER_03]: What?
36:33
[SPEAKER_03]: This is a similar like isn't too bad.
36:36
[SPEAKER_03]: It is when this man tried to rape you.
36:39
[SPEAKER_03]: I guess, I mean, that's true.
36:42
[SPEAKER_02]: But like, I'm wondering.
36:45
[SPEAKER_02]: Is it like the taste of Buffy's blood that like knocks him out of it?
36:49
[SPEAKER_02]: You know what I mean?
36:50
[SPEAKER_02]: Cause, and oh, maybe, because this is the second.
36:54
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, this is the second time that we've seen him kind of.
36:58
[SPEAKER_02]: get out of whatever this trip noces is.
37:01
[SPEAKER_02]: The dude stops singing the song.
37:04
[SPEAKER_02]: I wasn't paying attention, but it doesn't seem like the song has to be actively playing, right?
37:08
[SPEAKER_02]: Because the harmonica guy, he just like walking in the way from, yeah.
37:12
[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know, I'm thinking either, either there's some part of like you said his soul that's getting stronger, that's like able to fight it off, or is it like,
37:23
[SPEAKER_02]: Buffy like the taste of her blood like something in that probably both like I think like he tasted blood and then he's like wait a minute And I don't do this anymore.
37:32
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and then he's like I go shitty about this I'm a crack interestingly it like This hypnosis or trance or literally whatever you want to call it seems to like override the chip right because like
37:47
[SPEAKER_03]: because he doesn't like go in pain, which I think is the most confusing or it just because we've established something for a few seasons now that if he does not if he attacks a human or something good, something not demony, then he is reacts with a,
38:07
[SPEAKER_03]: Great pain.
38:08
[SPEAKER_03]: So it's like this is established.
38:09
[SPEAKER_03]: So I feel like that's the thing that confuses me the most about like we're changing the rules which I don't necessarily appreciate is how I feel about it
38:20
[SPEAKER_02]: I think, because we do see, as this is the episode right where he punches Zander to like leave, yeah, like knock some, and that does hurt him.
38:28
[SPEAKER_02]: So when he's in his right mind, when he's in his right mind, when he's in his right mind, the chip still works, but somehow this trans is able to like override the chip.
38:38
[SPEAKER_03]: Hmm, I mean, it's a stroke, who whatever mistake is is a strong, strong entity.
38:44
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
38:46
[SPEAKER_02]: Um, and so Buffy's able to like, because Spike is now cowering in the corner.
38:50
[SPEAKER_02]: Spike finishes all the like vampires off kills them all.
38:53
[SPEAKER_02]: Um, and then Spike literally is like, please like, kill me.
38:58
[SPEAKER_02]: I can't take it like, I mean, now he's aware of how many people he's killed.
39:02
[SPEAKER_02]: And he has a soul, right?
39:03
[SPEAKER_02]: So like, it's all just like too much to bear.
39:05
[SPEAKER_02]: Um, and Buffy is just like,
39:09
[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, well, obviously you've now been affected in the same way that Dawn and Willow and like the rest of us were affected by whatever this thing is for give them she's a forgive her.
39:22
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, she's like, oh, well, we'll need to keep him close and I'm like, yes, let's keep the blood Thursday vampire.
39:28
[SPEAKER_02]: He keeps putting in chances.
39:30
[SPEAKER_02]: Close to us.
39:32
[SPEAKER_02]: Just give this.
39:35
[SPEAKER_02]: You have to forgive it's so can you imagine can you imagine no I can't I really can
39:47
[SPEAKER_02]: because this is crazy, this man raped you and also you have your younger sister in the house.
39:54
[SPEAKER_02]: Which by the way, Buffy not coming home.
39:57
[SPEAKER_02]: Like, I understand going to Zander's first because like that's where Spike lives.
40:01
[SPEAKER_02]: But she's like, oh, it's almost morning.
40:04
[SPEAKER_02]: I guess I should go check on my little sister.
40:06
[SPEAKER_02]: Meanwhile, that house is destroyed.
40:09
[SPEAKER_03]: It's in shambles.
40:11
[SPEAKER_03]: Not the upstairs though, which I thought was so funny.
40:17
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, the the the man was only downstairs.
40:20
[SPEAKER_03]: And I was hoping that like we can see some cool magic where Willow just like snaps or fingers and the whole thing becomes clean.
40:29
[SPEAKER_03]: But yeah, we've seen her do like the party decorations, but that's not true.
40:33
[SPEAKER_03]: It's due.
40:34
[SPEAKER_03]: We don't get anything fun.
40:36
[SPEAKER_03]: I have not seen the new practical magic moving.
40:41
[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
40:42
[SPEAKER_02]: I haven't either, but funnily enough when like the other weekend we were up at my parents camp.
40:49
[SPEAKER_02]: All of us and my mom was just like flicking through the channels and practical magic was on.
40:53
[SPEAKER_02]: And she's like, oh my gosh, I haven't seen this movie in like decades and I'm like really?
40:59
[SPEAKER_02]: So I was very into it because I've remembered a lot of the details from when we watched it and covered it.
41:03
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and I was like, oh, mom, when I was like, I was getting really tired.
41:08
[SPEAKER_02]: My normal bedtime is like 9.30 these days.
41:10
[SPEAKER_02]: And I was like, I'm gonna go to bed and I was like, but I know the lime in the coconut, like, scene is coming up.
41:16
[SPEAKER_02]: That's, yeah, that was pretty early in the movie.
41:20
[SPEAKER_02]: I just started like, we literally just got to the part where like the guy strangling her in the car.
41:25
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, stay for that.
41:26
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, um, but I was like you have to watch the lime in the coconut part mom like the lime in the coconut part is the best.
41:32
[SPEAKER_02]: It is the best.
41:33
[SPEAKER_02]: Um, but good night.
41:35
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I haven't heard anything is the thing.
41:37
[SPEAKER_02]: Like I haven't heard good or bad as far as like I've had actually good.
41:41
[SPEAKER_03]: I've heard both.
41:42
[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
41:43
[SPEAKER_02]: All I've seen is a lot of interviews with Sandy B. Um, and what's her face like
41:53
[SPEAKER_03]: The issue is that people don't like Joey King.
41:56
[SPEAKER_03]: Do you have an opinion on Joey King?
41:57
[SPEAKER_03]: I wish I knew who Joey King was.
41:59
[SPEAKER_03]: Let me do a good ball, hold on.
42:01
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, Joey King plays one of the kids, yeah.
42:05
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
42:05
[SPEAKER_03]: And like Evan Rachel would still live and they didn't like use her for that.
42:10
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, I don't know.
42:12
[SPEAKER_02]: To be honest, I don't know much about, I don't know what that I've really seen anything with Joey King in it.
42:18
[SPEAKER_03]: So people really hate Joey King out there.
42:21
[SPEAKER_03]: Interesting.
42:22
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
42:22
[SPEAKER_02]: But they said also, uh, are you start clicking it?
42:26
[SPEAKER_02]: Is she not in it or is it someone else?
42:29
[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I took a logic to hold on to know who that is.
42:32
[SPEAKER_03]: Are you going to start?
42:32
[SPEAKER_02]: Is that, uh, Maisie Williams, yeah, she isn't it.
42:39
[SPEAKER_03]: Do you think I'll like that show?
42:42
[SPEAKER_03]: game of thrones?
42:43
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
42:45
[SPEAKER_02]: No.
42:45
[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
42:46
[SPEAKER_02]: It is not for you.
42:48
[SPEAKER_02]: Although you like Dexter, so like truly who the hell knows, but like also know you won't like it because okay here's the situation because Adam has never seen it, right?
42:57
[SPEAKER_02]: Like I'd pretty sure he's not been the game of thrones guy.
42:59
[SPEAKER_03]: No, he's never seen it.
43:00
[SPEAKER_03]: So then like right after we finished Dexter and we decided if we
43:06
[SPEAKER_03]: do what your next show needs to be.
43:07
[SPEAKER_03]: Right, yeah.
43:08
[SPEAKER_03]: So here's the situation.
43:09
[SPEAKER_02]: I and man Adam have very similar attributes at times.
43:15
[SPEAKER_02]: Both of us struggle to remember names and a phone.
43:18
[SPEAKER_02]: Yep.
43:19
[SPEAKER_02]: And Game of Thrones is like,
43:22
[SPEAKER_02]: There's everyone, everyone has names and they're all very similar and it's like this of this so like Sarah of Indiana Like it's all everyone is blank of blank and you like it's actually important to know like how they're connected I just think it's and there's fantasy stuff that you would definitely not like like I don't think you give a shit about dragons like I don't I just don't think you would like it
43:50
[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
43:51
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, it might like the political intrigue.
43:52
[SPEAKER_02]: I will say, because there is some like political aspect stuff that I think he would like.
43:56
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, like the machinations and everything, but I definitely think he would hate it.
44:01
[SPEAKER_02]: Machination.
44:03
[SPEAKER_03]: All right.
44:03
[SPEAKER_03]: None for me.
44:04
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, fine.
44:07
[SPEAKER_02]: How do we get on the topic of history anymore?
44:11
[SPEAKER_02]: anything else to this episode?
44:12
[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, yes.
44:13
[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
44:14
[SPEAKER_02]: So we already kind of talked about like Willow coming home and finding Dawn and kind of being like, that wasn't really Joy's Bubble Law.
44:23
[SPEAKER_02]: And she's the one who's like very well aware of, like, this is the big God.
44:26
[SPEAKER_02]: But there's other aspect that we kind of...
44:30
[SPEAKER_02]: begin the episode with and end the episode with.
44:33
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, we get it.
44:34
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, we're in London.
44:36
[SPEAKER_02]: And I was like, oh, are we like, another flashback, right?
44:41
[SPEAKER_02]: Because we see men with daggers that we've been seeing, killing people, hooded men and daggers come into this like apartment in London, killer random dude who I was like, this guy sounds American from what little we've heard.
44:53
[SPEAKER_02]: He, they only kill him, but they like killed like his partner or someone whoever else was there.
44:58
[SPEAKER_02]: Um, and I'm like, okay, whatever.
45:00
[SPEAKER_02]: And then we end the episode with the Giles, which was funny, because when I was watching the episode, you know me, I try not to watch the credits and stuff, because I like to be spoiled.
45:08
[SPEAKER_02]: But I did see like special guests, and I'm like, oh, okay, Giles is back.
45:13
[SPEAKER_02]: Um, but not to the very end when he finds the two people dead in there.
45:19
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
45:20
[SPEAKER_03]: Um, and he runs to the guy.
45:21
[SPEAKER_03]: Fuck the girl.
45:22
[SPEAKER_03]: Don't care about her.
45:23
[SPEAKER_03]: She bended.
45:24
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, this guy at least has a, like, a couple words in in left, you know, and he says it has started.
45:30
[SPEAKER_02]: They need to be gathered.
45:32
[SPEAKER_02]: And we see like, I would assume like, okay, it is started.
45:37
[SPEAKER_02]: They need to be gathered.
45:39
[SPEAKER_02]: Either the watchers or like,
45:42
[SPEAKER_02]: Are there other secret slayers?
45:44
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, like potential or like slayers?
45:47
[SPEAKER_03]: The face is coming back, maybe.
45:51
[SPEAKER_03]: Like potential potential slayers, right?
45:55
[SPEAKER_03]: They, or, okay, who are is it the witches?
45:59
[SPEAKER_03]: No.
45:59
[SPEAKER_03]: We can't have anything good.
46:01
[SPEAKER_02]: We won't get witches because they hate us.
46:03
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
46:04
[SPEAKER_02]: Um, yeah.
46:05
[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway.
46:06
[SPEAKER_02]: So.
46:07
[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
46:08
[SPEAKER_02]: And so then the like we see one of these close dudes behind Giles has an axe and like swings it at him.
46:16
[SPEAKER_02]: And that's where the episode ends.
46:18
[SPEAKER_02]: So are you worried about Giles and his aliveness?
46:22
[SPEAKER_02]: No.
46:22
[SPEAKER_02]: Because if they're going to kill him, that is not how they're
46:28
[SPEAKER_02]: Like he's like done with special guest appearances.
46:31
[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm going to give you two minutes and that can help me with the axe off screen, please.
46:36
[SPEAKER_02]: No, it ain't it's not going to happen like that.
46:38
[SPEAKER_02]: Daddy Jiles is the same man who literally like choked glory Benton to death.
46:44
[SPEAKER_02]: Like he's not going out with an axe to head to the head.
46:46
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, like he's going to like he has like Spidey senses.
46:49
[SPEAKER_03]: He knows if the guy likes the axe is there.
46:51
[SPEAKER_03]: He's going to like spin around and trip him and then take the axe and kill him.
46:56
[SPEAKER_03]: Exactly.
46:57
[SPEAKER_03]: So yeah.
46:58
[SPEAKER_02]: Um, TBD on how all that works out.
47:01
[SPEAKER_02]: And unfortunately, I know people love it so much when I recap angel for you.
47:04
[SPEAKER_02]: But unfortunately, I was unable to watch it this week.
47:07
[SPEAKER_02]: Our method of watching was being a little unreliable.
47:11
[SPEAKER_02]: So I wasn't allowed to I couldn't watch.
47:13
[SPEAKER_02]: He is.
47:14
[SPEAKER_02]: Corpsis, which I messed up the name last time because I read it quickly.
47:18
[SPEAKER_02]: And he beats corpses, not hevious corpus.
47:21
[SPEAKER_02]: So that'll be for next week.
47:24
[SPEAKER_02]: That's the, that's the pun of it.
47:26
[SPEAKER_02]: So right.
47:27
[SPEAKER_02]: So next week I'll watch that episode of Angel.
47:31
[SPEAKER_02]: We'll also watch season seven episode nine of Buffie called Never Leave Me.
47:36
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, a child's because he's dead.
47:37
[SPEAKER_02]: Never leave me, child's never.
47:39
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh my god, it's giving, it's giving, rose and jack in Titanic.
47:45
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
47:46
[SPEAKER_02]: When that fucking door was obviously big enough for her to scoot over a little bit, but we can't get into that.
47:51
[SPEAKER_02]: We definitely had this conversation, haven't we?
47:54
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm sure it's going to get such a 90s movie.
47:57
[SPEAKER_03]: There's no way we have it.
47:58
[SPEAKER_03]: We've never covered it, but I'm sure in the last six years we have talked about it.
48:03
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I want to say someone had commented somewhere.
48:07
[SPEAKER_02]: Like you definitely have made this, you definitely have had this argument before.
48:11
[SPEAKER_02]: And it's like the first day.
48:15
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, that's what it was.
48:16
[SPEAKER_02]: That's what it was.
48:17
[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, yes, it's Mars bars immediately started the podcast and I think you had the same argument last year by half birthdays.
48:22
[SPEAKER_02]: So maybe I had an old episode started.
48:24
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, we'll do it again next year.
48:26
[SPEAKER_02]: I want to barely Mars bars is a half birthday is next week.
48:39
[SPEAKER_02]: So anyway, so you end up date because obviously for listening to this on the date was released, you'd notice it was late.
48:45
[SPEAKER_02]: We're going to be back on schedule for a Thursday.
48:47
[SPEAKER_02]: So you kind of get a little double dose this week.
48:49
[SPEAKER_02]: So you're welcome.
48:52
[SPEAKER_02]: So yes, so Buffy has never leave me and then angel sees four percent nine long days journey.
49:01
[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, they're going on a long days journey.
49:04
[SPEAKER_03]: Apparently.
49:06
[SPEAKER_03]: if assuming our method of watching is back up.
49:08
[SPEAKER_03]: If not, we'll probably have to just watch on Disney plus or something.
49:12
[SPEAKER_03]: Or finally as well.
49:13
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm sure there's, I'm sure it's somewhere.
49:15
[SPEAKER_02]: I just didn't have a care to find out where.
49:20
[SPEAKER_02]: But yeah, I mean, that's pretty much it.
49:22
[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, beyond that,
49:25
[SPEAKER_02]: I don't even know what I've been watching.
49:26
[SPEAKER_02]: Honestly, it's mostly reality TV, like there's not a ton of scripted things I'm watching.
49:30
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm about to restart or do a rewatch of yellow jackets because the final season comes out in November.
49:36
[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
49:37
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm excited for that.
49:39
[SPEAKER_02]: You will love that show.
49:40
[SPEAKER_02]: I do.
49:41
[SPEAKER_02]: It's incredible.
49:42
[SPEAKER_02]: More people should watch it.
49:44
[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I've been watching it.
49:46
[SPEAKER_02]: I have been rewatching Gilmore girls, um, just because it's fall and that's the vibe.
49:52
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, I guess, said on that, uh, highly caffeinated podcast, that podcast, yeah, I guess on that with Melissa, um, I'm excited that should be out in a couple of days.
50:04
[SPEAKER_03]: I think, right?
50:05
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, Adam, uh, we, I took his place because we can't be podcasting together any
50:13
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it's not conducive.
50:16
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, are living arrangements.
50:22
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm living arrangements, such a weird way to say to the baby.
50:26
[SPEAKER_02]: The baby.
50:27
[SPEAKER_02]: There you go.
50:29
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
50:30
[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
50:31
[SPEAKER_02]: Other than that.
50:31
[SPEAKER_03]: Anything new?
50:33
[SPEAKER_03]: No.
50:34
[SPEAKER_03]: No.
50:35
[SPEAKER_03]: You need there.
50:35
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm just tired all the time.
50:36
[SPEAKER_03]: Me too.
50:37
[SPEAKER_03]: But like.
50:39
[SPEAKER_03]: Sorry, guys.
50:40
[SPEAKER_03]: It's like not interesting or fun.
50:44
[SPEAKER_03]: So just be like, I'm annoyed all the time, guys.
50:48
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm gonna burn in bad mood, burn in it, and play grumpy.
50:53
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, yeah, and other news, the baby is a pound and 13 ounces.
50:58
[SPEAKER_02]: It's a fake bye bye.
51:00
[SPEAKER_02]: Feels big, although he's not, his head is no longer in the 99th percentile, so we can all be happy about that.
51:07
[SPEAKER_02]: Good job, baby, boy.
51:10
[SPEAKER_02]: keep on growing.
51:12
[SPEAKER_02]: Sure.
51:13
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, not too big though because I'd like my ladybits to be someone intact by the end of this.
51:18
[SPEAKER_02]: I'll just say.
51:24
[SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, I guess that's everything.
51:26
[SPEAKER_02]: I need to take this sweatshirt off because now I'm sweating.
51:29
[SPEAKER_02]: Happy fall, everyone.
51:30
[SPEAKER_02]: We'll talk to all in just a couple of days until then here and it's the lesson.
51:38
[SPEAKER_01]: She'll make sure you start me
