- 0:45Speaker 3: welcome to the show. Now you are also on the
- 0:47Speaker 3: radio stop By. You did the nicest poll on the beat.
- 0:50Speaker 3: Now you are doing our podcast and you have an
- 0:52Speaker 3: interesting story. Yes I'll allow you to elaborate. But you
- 0:55Speaker 3: are a breast cancer survivor. Yes, the details as you
- 1:00Speaker 3: shared on the radio were very like intricate. Could you
- 1:04Speaker 3: do you mind sharing again? Yeah, like how I found
- 1:07Speaker 3: for the first time views.
- 1:09Speaker 4: Yeah, I have no problem.
- 1:11Speaker 1: So I was twenty six when I found my tumor.
- 1:14Speaker 1: It was a complete accident. It was no different, no
- 1:17Speaker 1: simple than just coming out of the shower and having
- 1:20Speaker 1: too much lotion on my hands and not knowing where
- 1:22Speaker 1: else to rub myself, so I rubbed my titties and
- 1:27Speaker 1: I ended up finding something. My gut was telling me
- 1:31Speaker 1: to get it checked out, not because any textbook or
- 1:33Speaker 1: doctor has ever told me, hey, you're twenty six, you
- 1:35Speaker 1: should be ahead of this, just because something foreign was
- 1:39Speaker 1: in my body. And so I did a breast ultrasound
- 1:44Speaker 1: and something definitely was there, and we decided to do
- 1:48Speaker 1: a lumpectomy just because lump, back to me, is when
- 1:53Speaker 1: they just remove a mass. So I removed this mass
- 1:57Speaker 1: out of my body, and then the pathology came back.
- 1:59Speaker 1: I stayed on breast cancer, and then two weeks later
- 2:03Speaker 1: I did a double misseectomy, which is when they remove
- 2:06Speaker 1: both breasts, but I also had to remove the right
- 2:09Speaker 1: nipple because the cancer was right behind the nipple. And
- 2:12Speaker 1: if I did the double misseectomy and kept the nipple,
- 2:14Speaker 1: then it would have defeated the purpose because you could
- 2:16Speaker 1: still have cancer in the nipple. And then after that
- 2:21Speaker 1: I got an infection.
- 2:23Speaker 4: I thought I was invincible.
- 2:24Speaker 1: I thought a double misseectomy is like bad enough, how
- 2:26Speaker 1: much worse can it get than this? But the fine
- 2:29Speaker 1: print when you sign, it's definitely a risk, especially when
- 2:32Speaker 1: you have such a major surgery. And I think that
- 2:36Speaker 1: one of the biggest misconceptions is that people think that
- 2:39Speaker 1: it's a breast augmentation, like, oh, you can just have
- 2:41Speaker 1: a free boob job, But it's not.
- 2:43Speaker 4: That at all. A reconstruction postmasectomy is a whole different surgery.
- 2:49Speaker 1: It's a different pricing, it's a different recovery. It's just
- 2:52Speaker 1: completely different than what most people would think.
- 2:55Speaker 3: Buy insurance.
- 2:56Speaker 1: No, so insurance covered my double misseect, but the reconstruction
- 3:01Speaker 1: after they didn't cover, because it's now considered cosmetic and elective.
- 3:07Speaker 1: But by the grace of God, Chloe Kardashian ended up
- 3:10Speaker 1: paying for my surgeries because she's.
- 3:11Speaker 3: What we called that she did.
- 3:14Speaker 4: She did.
- 3:15Speaker 1: She still doesn't know this information, but she had. My
- 3:18Speaker 1: last surgery was May of twenty nineteen, and she had
- 3:23Speaker 1: posted my business that Monday night and her tag is
- 3:27Speaker 1: like so small in the corner, like a monochromatic type
- 3:31Speaker 1: of tag. But her fans, they are loyal and they
- 3:33Speaker 1: found me. And the amount of sales I got in
- 3:36Speaker 1: that twenty four hours covered my last surgery, the surgery before,
- 3:40Speaker 1: and the surgery before, so I don't have stressed about
- 3:44Speaker 1: it anymore.
- 3:46Speaker 4: Yeah, the how what is your business? I have a
- 3:48Speaker 4: crystal business.
- 3:50Speaker 3: So crystal like stones, yes.
- 3:52Speaker 4: Which is what I did you open your gift yet? Okay?
- 3:56Speaker 4: But so I have a crystal business.
- 3:58Speaker 1: And I was inspired by the pet therapy that I
- 4:01Speaker 1: had during my recovery.
- 4:02Speaker 4: That was like my favorite part of being in.
- 4:04Speaker 1: The hospital was when they had the animals come through
- 4:07Speaker 1: because I'm a huge animal lover. And so I created
- 4:11Speaker 1: a pet water bottle that has a crystal inside. It's
- 4:14Speaker 1: made out of glass and the crystal. You can put
- 4:17Speaker 1: it in the refrigerator to keep the water cool during
- 4:19Speaker 1: the hot seasons and there's a snackjar that can snap back
- 4:23Speaker 1: into the bowl. But that wasn't the product that she
- 4:26Speaker 1: had posted. I had my first crystal business pre pandemic,
- 4:31Speaker 1: and she had posted that and she sold me out.
- 4:35Speaker 1: And I remember going into my last surgery asking my
- 4:38Speaker 1: doctor like, am I going to be able to move
- 4:39Speaker 1: my arms tomorrow? Because I have a lot of orders
- 4:42Speaker 1: to get out And ended up being Mother's Day weekend,
- 4:44Speaker 1: so like you know, when you check out, there's like
- 4:46Speaker 1: a note section, like all the notes that I'm reading
- 4:48Speaker 1: is like happy Mother's Day, Granny and happy Mother's Dale
- 4:51Speaker 1: was like I have to get these out, like there's
- 4:53Speaker 1: no way people are counting on me. This is the
- 4:54Speaker 1: Mother's Day gift, right, And so I came out of
- 4:57Speaker 1: surgery with drains hanging out, everything in one by one,
- 5:01Speaker 1: making each arrangement for everyone.
- 5:03Speaker 4: But she definitely blessed me and covered the seris that's fire.
- 5:07Speaker 1: Yeah, And I want to talk to her soon so
- 5:10Speaker 1: I could tell her because she has no idea.
- 5:12Speaker 3: Well she's gonna have We're gonna we have proof now
- 5:16Speaker 3: now you know. We were also talking all Ice and
- 5:19Speaker 3: polling the beat for RMBT two to seven Atlanta, Georgia.
- 5:22Speaker 3: By the way, now, well my wife will get her.
- 5:27Speaker 3: What's it called mammogran They smush it down and she
- 5:30Speaker 3: was like, oh my god, it's so painful. You were saying,
- 5:33Speaker 3: it's a different way that they checked your breast.
- 5:36Speaker 1: Yeah, I did a breast ultrasound. A breast mammogram isn't
- 5:41Speaker 1: going to work for a woman in the early twenties
- 5:43Speaker 1: because your breasts are too dense. So a breast ultrasound
- 5:47Speaker 1: would be my first recommendation.
- 5:48Speaker 4: A second, she.
- 5:49Speaker 3: Just like a regular ultrasounding.
- 5:50Speaker 4: Yeah, no difference.
- 5:51Speaker 1: Yeah, same jelly, same machine, just on your titty and
- 5:54Speaker 1: not your belly. No, it's painless, it's easy.
- 5:58Speaker 4: And then the most.
- 5:59Speaker 1: Accurate would be a breast MRI, which is when you
- 6:01Speaker 1: go into the machine, except for this time you're gonna
- 6:05Speaker 1: be laying face down and there's a little opening where
- 6:07Speaker 1: your boobies just hang down and they can check boobies. Yeah.
- 6:14Speaker 3: Now, after the surgery, they removed your breast. Yeah, now
- 6:20Speaker 3: you had to go get new breasts. That's the cosmetic part. Yes,
- 6:25Speaker 3: and that's what Chloe tagging you in the sales helps
- 6:29Speaker 3: pay for. Yeah, now, how was that because don't they
- 6:33Speaker 3: have to have specific guidelines because you have surgery or
- 6:37Speaker 3: was it just a normal procedure.
- 6:38Speaker 1: So when I did my double missectomy the way that
- 6:41Speaker 1: City of Hope does it, I had the breast oncologist
- 6:44Speaker 1: and a plastic surgeon in the o R.
- 6:46Speaker 3: I had to sign off on everything.
- 6:48Speaker 4: Right, yeah, OK, wait, what do you mean.
- 6:50Speaker 3: Like, do you have to go get checked out because
- 6:52Speaker 3: it's that you're getting it's like a.
- 6:53Speaker 1: Surgical I had to sign off. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I
- 6:56Speaker 1: for sure had to sign off. But I had a
- 6:58Speaker 1: breast oncologist and a plastic surgeon in the OAR at
- 7:01Speaker 1: the same time, So when I woke up, I never
- 7:03Speaker 1: saw myself flat chested. I think that would have been
- 7:06Speaker 1: more traumatizing for me, just because I
