- 7:53with tax filing for free. In the past five years,
- 7:58approximately 340 ,000 accountants have quit,
- 8:02with 75 % expected to retire soon. Students in
- 8:07volunteer income tax assistance programs helped
- 8:10low -income Americans claim nearly $11 million
- 8:13in refunds last year. With high salaries and
- 8:18high placement rates, Gen Z may shift views on
- 8:21accounting as a viable career path. In business
- 8:26news, President Donald Trump announced a raft
- 8:29of new tariffs late Thursday, including a 100
- 8:33% levy on imported pharmaceuticals, unless their

- 8:53heavy trucks, all effective October 1st. Trump
- 8:57stated that these tariffs aim to protect American
- 9:00businesses from overseas manufacturers flooding
- 9:03the market. He emphasized that it is a very unfair

- 10:27Let's talk tech. Apple's Liquid Glass is being
- 10:31hailed as the next decade's user experience,
- 10:34but experts caution it may leave users behind.
- 10:38This week, Apple introduced its most significant
- 10:41design update in years, aiming to redefine its
- 10:44visual language. However, UX experts describe
- 10:48Liquid Glass as anywhere from mildly disappointing
- 10:51to outright broken. While the design is visually
- 10:56appealing, It presents higher cognitive loads
- 10:58and accessibility issues, especially for older
- 11:01adults. Apple continues to refine liquid glass,
- 11:06but may need to reconsider its aesthetic -first
- 11:08approach to enhance usability. The quest for
- 11:12a more fluid interface continues, but challenges
- 11:15remain. And in entertainment news... NBCUniversal
- 11:23on Thursday warned customers that its networks
- 11:25may be dropped from U2 TV if the two parties
- 11:28cannot reach a new distribution agreement by
- 11:31September 30. NBCU rarely leverages consumer
- 11:37campaigns to negotiate pay television distribution
- 11:40fights, and this escalation highlights the challenges
- 11:43it faces with U2 TV. Impacted channels include
- 11:48NBC, Telemundo, Bravo, CNBC, MSNDC, USA Network,
- 11:55and others. NBC News stated that Google, with
- 12:00its $3 trillion market cap, wants to control
- 12:03what we watch. YouTube TD claims NBC News pricing
- 12:08is too high, stating, NBCUniversal is asking
- 12:12us to pay more than what they charge consumers
- 12:14for the same content on Peacock. If content is
- 12:18unavailable for an extended period of time, YouTube
- 12:22TV will offer subscribers a $10 credit. Well,
- 12:27alrighty folks, it's time for the quote of the
