- 0:00Do you know how legendary like of a father you have to be to
- 0:03have twin boys that both play college basketball?
- 0:08That both play college basketball overseas.
- 0:11Like. Because these guys are from.
- 0:15Who cares? A Stan.
- 0:16Yeah. You know, like I, I don't know
- 0:19where they're from, but like. Who cares?
- 0:25A Stan's awesome. I was taking the drag.
- 0:40Welcome back guys. I'm here with the newly
- 0:47captained Justin. Ahoy Mateys.
- 0:53The newly first mate Amber and the newly skipper Ryan.
- 0:58You're a skipper, Skippity. I think you would be Gilligan.
- 1:06I was I well, no 'cause there's a skipper is.
- 1:12Is the name of the show. Huh.
- 1:14I was. Talking about Gilligan's Island.
- 1:16Yeah, I know, I know. But Skip there is a skipper in
- 1:18the show. In the show.
- 1:19That's what I was saying. That was like the boat captain,
- 1:21I thought. No, that would be a captain.
- 1:23No, I hate you so much. Are you looking it up?
- 1:32Yeah, I'm about. To I was doing the same.
- 1:39Oh my gosh, I spelled what? What was I trying to spell?
- 1:42Glog logs. GLOG logs Island.
- 1:46So Allen Hall is the skipper. You've got the professor.
- 1:51Ginger, Grant. Gilligan, Eunice.
- 1:55Thurston, Bunny, Erica. The Colonel.
- 2:04Jonathan Kincaid. And Igor, holy Lord, man, we, we
- 2:09have got to watch this show. I've only seen like 30 seconds
- 2:14of an episode. I think I used to watch it with
- 2:16my grandmother back in the day, but it's, I think, suppressed
- 2:19memories. It looks a lot like Caddyshack,
- 2:23which I'm into. I I remember watching it a
- 2:27little bit with my grandpa and I thought it was funny.
- 2:31Do you remember Caddyshack so good.
- 2:34Yeah. So Speaking of newly captained,
- 2:37so that boat, the the day that we came back with it, like the
- 2:41first day I've ever been on this boat, like mine, driving it like
- 2:45the whole 9 yards. We went like probably probably 5
- 2:52or 6 hours N when we got it. And when we docked at the Fort,
- 2:59we were we're still trying to figure out everything and how it
- 3:03worked. And I found out that he had left
- 3:09a little like 23 inch monitor hooked up to a DVD player and he
- 3:14had like these DVDs in a corner. And one of them was Caddyshack.
- 3:18Dude on the my new boat at night, sleeping on it at the
- 3:23Fort. I watched Caddyshack at like
- 3:264:00 in the morning. That's wonderful.
- 3:27It was, it was one of the best experiences I've ever had.
- 3:32And then immediately fell asleep for about 30 minutes and a
- 3:35cruise ship washed us up onto the dock with like a four foot
- 3:40wake. It literally threw a 12,000 LB
- 3:43boat into the air onto the dock and slammed the dock.
- 3:47It hit so hard it ripped one of the bunks off and we just
- 3:51watched it float away like. That's crazy.
- 3:54It was, it was kind of ridiculous.
- 3:57We we assumed that there'd be some traffic.
- 3:59We didn't know there was going to be literally like Disney
- 4:03Princess cruise like massive like thousand person boat.
- 4:07I've got a picture. You can't even like my boat
- 4:10looks like literally a a little square in the bottom of the
- 4:13picture and then the the cruise ship isn't even fully in frame.
- 4:17It's the biggest thing you've ever seen from like 30 feet
- 4:20away. This dude was hauling ass, man.
- 4:24He came through there like 4 in the morning because who else is
- 4:27out there at 4:00 in the morning and he came through at least
- 4:31like 10 or 12 knots and just just blew us over the dock, man.
- 4:36I was like, Jesus Christ. I had a good time though.
- 4:44That was 2 1/2 days of insanity. I know, I know, I've told you
- 4:53before, but that second day, man, we literally fought through
- 4:58like, I don't even know two hours worth of a like a storm
- 5:03storm, like 4 foot waves. The boat is sky water, sky water
- 5:12for like 2 hours. It got to a point.
- 5:15I finally told him I was like, hey man, I'm not even going to
- 5:17throw up because I'm seasick. I'm going to throw up because
- 5:20I'm stressed that I think we're going down like I'm going to
- 5:24need you to pull into a dock. He's like, there's no, there's
- 5:26no docks, right? Like there's no Marina.
- 5:28I'm like, that person lives on the water.
- 5:30I can their dock is 100 feet away.
- 5:33Go park at their house. Like, I don't care what it
- 5:36takes, Turn this fucking boat into that person's house.
- 5:39Like, Oh my God, man. He was like, we're fine.
- 5:43He's already taking his anxiety meds.
- 5:44He's been drinking all day, man. He's at the helm, both hands on
- 5:47the wheel. Just we're literally like, like
- 5:50catching. Like, you know, that that bit of
- 5:52air right at the top where you like feel weightless, We're
- 5:55catching that. And he looks back at me and I'm
- 5:57like, look where you're going. It's a, it's hitting the deck so
- 6:02hard that it's splashing the windows.
- 6:04So I can't see anything for like 2 hours.
- 6:07We've got the radar on, we've got the GPS on, but we're, we're
- 6:11hoping, praying that there's nothing there that's not lit up
- 6:14and literally the windshield wipers would like wipe it away
- 6:17and like as it wiped it away, another wake would throw it up
- 6:21onto the window. So it was useless.
- 6:23Like we literally just drove blind for like 2 hours.
- 6:25That's it sucked. Dude, that's crazy.
- 6:28That was probably the worst experience I've had on a boat
- 6:31ever. And I got stuck in the middle of
- 6:34the second biggest lake in Florida, which is it's massive,
- 6:40it's enormous. It you can't even see the other
- 6:43side. It's so big and we're literally
- 6:46out, like at the the mouth of this lake and the boat dies.
- 6:51And I mean literally this with me, Yeah.
- 6:54This was after you guys just got the boat.
- 6:59So a different boat it's. A pontoon boat.
- 7:02I'm terrified. And.
- 7:07I don't even know. It was just crazy.
- 7:10Like there was a big old thunderstorm and you're not
- 7:13supposed to use the use the R word rain when you're in a boat.
- 7:17And I said it and they're like, no, no, no, no.
- 7:20And his dad is like putting a life vest on me and I'm like,
- 7:24no, I'm good. And they're like, no, like
- 7:28trying to hide it from me. You don't.
- 7:30You don't have a choice at. This point, the boats literally
- 7:34like teeter tottering and it's supposed to stay flat 'cause
- 7:38it's a freaking pontoon boat. They told me afterwards you're
- 7:42like, yeah, that was very scary. I'm like, you guys, like,
- 7:48downplayed it. And they're like, we wanted to
- 7:50make sure you were calm. And I was like, Oh my God, never
- 7:53again. There were two anchors out.
- 7:55We were still dragging, getting pushed deeper into the lake.
- 7:59That's. Crazy.
- 8:00Well, we were 30 feet from the mouth and we threw both anchors
- 8:05out as soon as the motor died. OK, we have no propulsion.
- 8:07Throw the anchors out. I don't want to drift into the
- 8:09lake. And then I shit you not like 30
- 8:12mile an hour winds, sideways rain, lightning is literally
- 8:16cracking on the lake. I, I'm, I'm standing neck like
- 8:19next to it and it is, it is wrapping the anchors together
- 8:26now. It's pulling them together to
- 8:28where they don't have any kind of kind of hooking power.
- 8:32And that we're literally just, I'm watching the shore get
- 8:34further away and the storms getting worse and we're going
- 8:37sideways now because the anchors dragged and we're literally
- 8:40hugging her, holding on to the the the helm.
- 8:45And she's looking at us and we're looking at each other
- 8:48going, yeah, it's fine, it's fine, it's fine.
- 8:50And then she looks away. I look at dad.
- 8:51I'm like, what the fuck, dude? Like Oh my God this is so bad.
- 8:56I didn't find out until like months later from his dad.
- 9:01He was like, Oh yeah, remember that really bad rainstorm where
- 9:04we all thought we were going to die?
- 9:06And I was like, you guys said we weren't going to die.
- 9:09And I'm like, he was like, oh, yeah, no, we played that down
- 9:12real fast. So like, come on.
- 9:15Poor innocent little Amber. I don't know about innocent, but
- 9:18yeah. She almost had ATV fall on her.
- 9:22We were taking the big boat down the river and somebody just came
- 9:26by doing way too, way too fast. And I mean, literally 10 feet
- 9:31from us and they just threw our boat literally like tilted 45°
- 9:36sideways. And there's a 50 inch that
- 9:38screen coming down at her. We've got a lit hookah on a
- 9:44wooded boat. Yeah.
- 9:47Excuse you, that's. My life.
- 9:49Quit it. So now that we've told you the
- 9:55horror stories whenever you want, now that the boat, the
- 9:59boat is registered in my name, we can actually take it out and
- 10:02enjoy it for once. Never again I.
- 10:05Don't even want to take it on the lake.
- 10:07I hate that lake. There's nothing on the lake.
- 10:09It's just a Big Lake. I'd rather take Lake George
- 10:14under the second largest lake in Florida, only behind Okeechobee,
- 10:18and that's a that's a sea like, yeah, I and.
- 10:21Then Lancy. Literally, I, I can't, I don't
- 10:24even like that. Like I'd rather just take the
- 10:26canals and actually hang out in wildlife and get some sun and
- 10:30just drink some beer. Like I don't need to be doing
- 10:32all that like stuff this. That's too much.
- 10:35I think just chilling is the best way to do it.
- 10:41Nothing I don't. I don't care about going out and
- 10:45jet skiing and all that stuff. Let's just chill.
- 10:49I also like, I like the idea of a boat more than actually
- 10:53piloting it. It sucks.
- 10:56You are never not at 10. Like every single thing wants to
- 11:01take you out and you're the guy with his hands on the wheel.
- 11:04Like so if you take somebody else out, you are completely
- 11:07screwed. Like it is.
- 11:10It's like, it's like that freaking bridge in
- 11:15Massachusetts, the one that came down.
- 11:19Oh, because that more because that cargo ship, the Baltimore,
- 11:22is that what it was? Yeah, Yeah, it.
- 11:23Was the Francis Scott Keybridge. And and whatever happened, what
- 11:27is what happened, I don't think we'll ever really truly know
- 11:30what that was about. Because that was interesting,
- 11:34wasn't it, how all that happened and played out and the videos.
- 11:38And I'm just going to leave that one alone because I don't want
- 11:40to had anything to do with it. So a cargo container ship, and
- 11:44I'm talking big boy, I'm talking a city block.
- 11:46This is this is a skyscraper on its side.
- 11:49It's like it's a city block is like less than half the ship.
- 11:54Like, yeah, like this is this is something that is taller than
- 12:01most, like skyscrapers. Yeah.
- 12:04And you have those containers the the shipping containers
- 12:10stacked like 10 high. OK. 15 high 20 high just stacked
- 12:17and and filled. So the boat itself is a
- 12:19building, then you got another building stacked on top of it.
- 12:24OK. On its side and it's doing what,
- 12:271012 knots? Yeah, I I don't think it was
- 12:31going. But it was.
- 12:34It was. It was a little bit too fast for
- 12:37where where it was. So it's, it's two buildings on
- 12:41its side and they're running at like 12 knots, which is a little
- 12:45bit faster than ours. So it's not bad.
- 12:47But it's, I mean, it's, it's moving and it's, it weighs 180
- 12:51tons. I mean, this thing weighs the,
- 12:53it's, it's, it's literally a building.
- 12:56It weighs as much as a building, so they can't stop it.
- 12:59They can't slow it down without the help of like 4 tug boats,
- 13:02which they, as far as I know, they didn't have.
- 13:05They're supposed to have pilot boats to bring them out from the
- 13:09dock away from this bridge because the bridge is very
- 13:12important. It's a bridge.
- 13:15So as far as I know, there weren't any pilot boats or there
- 13:18weren't any pilot boats on them, but they were, they were there.
- 13:22I can't remember. Anyway, you see a video that was
- 13:26taken from the other side where the ship is coming at you and
- 13:30it's away from the bridge. So you can see the bridge in the
- 13:32boat coming at it and the boat is going full tilt and you know
- 13:38it's going full tilt because it's literally throwing black
- 13:41smoke, just just blowing black smoke.
- 13:45And the boat is turning into one of the bridges feet, the the
- 13:52pillars. Then all the lights go out and
- 13:55the black smoke stops. The ship has lost power now
- 13:59they're slowing down, but they're still doing 10 knots.
- 14:03As fast as our boat goes at full tilt, they're doing that slowing
- 14:06down with no power, heading towards one of the footers.
- 14:10The lights come back on, immediate black smoke pouring
- 14:14out of the boat. So they are still in full tilt.
- 14:19Is that a which one's that? That's the boat.
- 14:22Oh yeah. So they're still going full
- 14:24tilt. As soon as the engines come back
- 14:26up, as soon as they get power again, they are immediately back
- 14:29at full tilt like nobody ever turned the throttle down.
- 14:33So what they're thinking is he threw it in reverse but kept the
- 14:38the throttle all the way in to try and stop the boat.
- 14:42They couldn't. They were already they lost
- 14:44power. So they have been drifting at
- 14:46this pillar, slowing down, but not slowing down enough.
- 14:50And then as soon as the power comes back on, it's full tilt
- 14:53reverse, which throws the boat like this, but it's still going
- 14:56at the pillar to a point, yeah, it's drifting the back end out
- 15:00because he's trying to reverse out.
- 15:02I think it loses power a second time.
- 15:05Same thing happens, loses power soon as the power comes back on
- 15:10full tilt in reverse and then they slam into the bridge and
- 15:13the whole bridge collapse. I thought.
- 15:15Completely collapses. I thought they were out of power
- 15:18whenever they hit the bridge, but I could be wrong, I don't
- 15:21remember. Either that instance where they
- 15:23were out of power by the time they hit the bridge, but I know
- 15:25it lost power twice. And as far as I could tell, I'm
- 15:30I'm assuming that it was mechanical because nobody,
- 15:33nobody, nobody takes care of these this.
- 15:35Is an old ship. It was.
- 15:37Owned by a shell company. Owned by a shell company and the
- 15:41IT was registered outside of the United States.
- 15:44Well, they all are. Well, yeah, that's a.
- 15:46Totally irrelevant thing, yeah. It was in a place that has super
- 15:53relaxed. Oh, yes, that standards, that's
- 15:56also incredibly common, yeah. So super relaxed standards.
- 16:00They hadn't actually inspected the ship in years.
- 16:05Like decades. I would assume.
- 16:07So it it very easily could have been mechanical and just that
- 16:12was that was all it had left and that was it.
- 16:16I, I assume because you hope that it was all mechanical and
- 16:22it just happens and that bridge was up for 100 years, 80 years,
- 16:26something like that. Yeah, and that there was also
- 16:29issues with that bridge too they.
- 16:31Well, there has never been a cargo ship that slammed into it.
- 16:34Yeah, that's true. In 80 to 100 years.
- 16:36Yeah. That's a pretty good run.
- 16:37Yeah. Well, yeah.
- 16:38Like, I wish it hadn't have happened.
- 16:41But if it's going to happen, Newton's law says it will
- 16:44happen. You know what I mean?
- 16:45It's like so I I don't. Honestly.
- 16:48Think it was on purpose. I don't.
- 16:50I don't if it was on purpose, they chose the worst possible
- 16:53time to do it because there was not that many people on the
- 16:57bridge, which is a huge lock. Thank God.
- 17:01Yeah, thank God. There it was, at a time of
- 17:06mourning. Is it Robert Key?
- 17:09For the bridge, yeah, I think it's the Francis Scott Key
- 17:11Bridge. Francis Scott Key.
- 17:12That's right. Yeah, so the dude that wrote the
- 17:15Star Spangled Banner. That's crazy.
- 17:17Yeah, so that's that bridge is named after.
- 17:19Him. I'm immediately back to the
- 17:21conspiracy. How do you piss off your
- 17:24adversary more than knocking the bridge down?
- 17:26That's named after the guy that has your anthem.
- 17:30Oh, get out. Wrote it on a warship.
- 17:34That's crazy. No, I, I, I don't know.
- 17:41I I from my understanding now, I don't know too much about it,
- 17:44but from my understanding is Baltimore and more specifically
- 17:50Maryland, 'cause I think that bridge fell under Maryland's
- 17:53jurisdiction as far as like the road maintenance and stuff,
- 17:57right. They had it, it also had been
- 18:03under inspected. Yeah.
- 18:06And its. Infrastructure in America.
- 18:09Oh yeah, yeah, 100%. But this was one of the bridges
- 18:13flagged as a possible collapsing risk outside of a container ship
- 18:19hitting it 'cause obviously any bridge is coming down if a
- 18:22container ship hits one of its main footings, right?
- 18:26Like there's, there's nothing you can do like that's.
- 18:28There's so much weight. There's so much weight on that
- 18:31one footing that everything's coming down there's.
- 18:33So much weight. There's no behind that hit.
- 18:35It's insane like. So I think they were, they were
- 18:42both obviously upset that it happened, but there is a lot of
- 18:47relief because if that bridge comes down, the more likely time
- 18:52it comes down outside of a ship hitting it is during rush hour
- 18:57traffic when there's so much weight on that.
- 19:00So it's like it's lucky that that ship hit it when it did
- 19:06because I think it was flagged for like dangerous, like needing
- 19:12to be replaced bridges. I was wrong on the weight.
- 19:16Oh yeah. Way wrong.
- 19:18Well, I you said it and I was like, I'm not going to say
- 19:21anything, but that doesn't sound right.
- 19:25I said 180 tons, it's 200,000 tons.
- 19:28Yeah, OK. Yeah.
- 19:29So you know, I was like 180. That sounds really light.
- 19:33That is so fucking heavy. That's a what is that one, £1.6
- 19:38million or something? And this thing is fully loaded
- 19:42too. That's what I just looked up.
- 19:44Yeah, fully loaded, just 200 tons.
- 19:47Yeah. That's like a mil 6 lbs.
- 19:51I don't even know what that is like.
- 19:52You know how numbers become incomprehensible after a while?
- 19:56I don't even know what the like like the calculation like what?
- 20:01What weighs that much? A cargo ship?
- 20:03Yes, I understand like. A Bridge 202. 100,000 tons 100.
- 20:081000. Which is. 200 a ton is.
- 20:14That is £200 million or something like that, 'cause it's
- 20:19£1000, right? I thought a ton was 2000.
- 20:22Miles. Oh, it might be 2000.
- 20:23So then it's 4. 100 million. Yeah, 400,000,000 lbs Pounds
- 20:28Pounds £400 million. What number did I just have?
- 20:32In my head I said 1.6. Yeah, I don't know.
- 20:35By 8. Because it was.
- 20:37It was 22. 1000. Times the 200,000 I.
- 20:40Was like what? Yeah, 2000 times the 200,000.
- 20:44Yeah, £400,000 yes, that's an insane amount.
- 20:50Wait. Incomprehensible number like
- 20:53there's nothing to compare it to.
- 20:55What like you mean the moon? Like I don't know what else
- 20:59weighs that much the. Moon isn't real.
- 21:02Yeah, I mean, if it was real. Totally kidding.
- 21:07I literally don't know like how to even compare that weight.
- 21:11But yeah, it's, it's shit like that where you take your, your
- 21:19life savings out for a day on the lake and then dickhead comes
- 21:24through in something like that and you know.
- 21:28So I just plugged in a really quick calculation.
- 21:32It would take 1.87 million Mees to equal that container ship
- 21:41fully loaded 1.87 million Mees at 213 lbs because that's what I
- 21:49weighed in last, which I dropped another pound.
- 21:52Whoop. Whoop whoop.
- 21:54So not an insignificant portion of the population of the state
- 22:00like. Yeah.
- 22:03That's absurd. How many people live in
- 22:08Baltimore? You know what's insane?
- 22:11That floats. Yeah, exactly.
- 22:14You know what, I also think this is going to come so far left
- 22:18field, you're both going to look at me.
- 22:20I don't think sea level is rising because of global
- 22:25warming. I think sea level is rising
- 22:30because we're putting how much did it weigh?
- 22:34£400 million. I think we're putting £400
- 22:37million in the water. Do you know what happens when
- 22:40you put weight in a water? It.
- 22:42Displaces the water. But you also it's not.
- 22:46It's also about how the ships are built.
- 22:51So like that would displace that much water, but it's only
- 22:54calculated based off of what's below the water line.
- 22:57So the ship displacement is not calculating the weight of the
- 23:01actual ship, it's what's below the water line is what's
- 23:04actually being displaced. Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
- 23:08It's not, it's not £400 million. What's being displaced is being
- 23:13pushed somewhere else, you know, you know, like higher, higher
- 23:18water level on a shoreline. So that's one ship, right?
- 23:24How many cargo ships and pleasure yachts and billionaire
- 23:28yachts and how many things have we built into the ocean that
- 23:35displaced the water that used to be where that thing is now
- 23:37built? You know what I mean?
- 23:40I understand. Like what I'm saying is like
- 23:42incomprehensible, like the the human being cannot displace the
- 23:46ocean level. But at a certain point, if we
- 23:49filled the ocean with shit, the ocean would rise, would it not?
- 23:53Yeah. So how can we say that that's
- 23:56not the cause? So the average weight of an
- 24:10adult American is 199.8 lbs. That's big boy.
- 24:17Yeah. Big boys.
- 24:21It would take just shy. Let's see here.
- 24:31I'm such a contradiction. I'm below average and above
- 24:34average at the same time. What?
- 24:38Does that mean? I'm below average in height and
- 24:41weight, but I'm above average in something else.
- 24:44Gross. That would take 3.54 times the
- 24:50Baltimore population. Based off of average weight, it
- 24:55would take 3.54 Baltimore's to equal the weight of that
- 24:59container. That's insane cause the
- 25:02Baltimore population is right around 560-5000.
- 25:06And don't get me wrong, those ships are enormous.
- 25:08Like you couldn't fit, what was it, 1.4 million people in that
- 25:13same space? Well, it's.
- 25:17Like. I just.
- 25:19It's unbelievable that that thing floats.
- 25:22It's crazy. There's also, I don't know where
- 25:27I saw it or what this festival is called, but there is like
- 25:33this competition making concrete boats.
- 25:37I don't know if you've ever seen this.
- 25:39I have seen concrete boats, I've never seen a competition.
- 25:42For it, it's it's literally making concrete boats at this
- 25:47whatever festival or whatever thing this competition and they
- 25:51make it from scratch and build these boats like so that it can
- 25:57hold like 3 people. OK, that's.
- 25:58My that was my next question. Yeah, it's not like a massive
- 26:03boat, but you build it, you know, right there on the
- 26:09shoreline. I mean, it's concrete.
- 26:11Concrete, yeah. And with the lake water.
- 26:14Yeah, and everything like you build the forms yourself and
- 26:19which I think is insane that you can make concrete float.
- 26:23I've I've actually seen concrete ships like 3540 foot boats.
- 26:29So I've seen a 60 foot concrete boat which is the dumbest thing
- 26:33I've ever heard, but it works. It just like like.
- 26:38Buoyancy. Like Bethesda said, it just
- 26:41works. Buoyancy.
- 26:46I'm glad I stuck to my guns because we were really close to
- 26:49getting a a steel or aluminum hull and I'm glad I stuck with
- 26:55fiberglass. I really am that it's such a
- 26:58fucking headache. Everything else is just just
- 27:02waiting to corrode and degrade and fall apart.
- 27:05And fiberglasses like Oh no, it'll be here for the next 7000
- 27:11years. If you just put it on the
- 27:13ground, it'll just be there forever.
- 27:16Like wow, holy shit, look at that thing.
- 27:21Is that Fuji? It's some mountain.
- 27:27I'm excited though. I'm glad we finally got it
- 27:30squared away and we can actually start enjoying the thing and
- 27:33hopefully never see a cargo ship near me ever.
- 27:38I it's like that cruise ship, man.
- 27:42You think a cargo ship's big? These cruise ships are the
- 27:46biggest things that's ever been like ever floated.
- 27:49It's, it's unbelievable how big they are.
- 27:52And to have one, I'm not kidding, 30 feet from my boat, I
- 27:55was like, that's, that's insane. That's like nearly death.
- 28:02I say I don't I don't think the the story was portrayed like it
- 28:06was So the one that blew us up onto the dock.
- 28:09That was at like 4:00 in the morning and then I just didn't
- 28:12really sleep, if I'm honest. And then at like 6:00 in the
- 28:15morning, I was like, all right, I'm going into the Marina.
- 28:17I'm take grabbing a shower, getting ready, grabbing some
- 28:19coffee. We'll get on the go.
- 28:21We come out of the Marina shop, which is inland like a good, I
- 28:25don't know, half mile and I'm looking down towards my boat and
- 28:30there's a cruise ship going by again.
- 28:33And that's when I took the picture.
- 28:34It's like, what the hell is going on?
- 28:38Like we need to get out of here. We're we're so in the wrong
- 28:42place. We shouldn't be like.
- 28:44If you have that picture still. Oh yeah.
- 28:46Send that to me and I'll put I'll post it up on the on video.
- 28:50That's the the thumbnail for the the podcast upload.
- 28:53For this episode, yeah. It was, it was, it was surreal
- 28:57being that close twice. To something that massive.
- 29:02And actually see in the second one, because the first one, by
- 29:04the time we got out, he's already passed us by, however
- 29:09long it takes for his wake to get to us.
- 29:11And then we finally looked out the windows, he's already on his
- 29:14way. And when I come out of the
- 29:17Marina house and it's literally like halfway, I was like, that's
- 29:21the biggest thing that's ever been like, it's, it's unreal.
- 29:27But I'm excited to to take it out and actually enjoy it and
- 29:32destress a little. That would be a fun first video
- 29:38podcast episode. Taking the boat out.
- 29:40Yeah, just being out on the boat.
- 29:42We could do that. We.
- 29:43Could do. That I'd like.
- 29:44That, that'd be a blast. We can set up on the back deck.
- 29:51I think that would be a lot of fun.
- 29:54I wouldn't mind. Yeah.
- 30:00Yeah, because I think Dad could use a day out on the lake too.
- 30:03I'd say we got to do it after he he gets his thing taken care of
- 30:09and then it's ready to go, man, We can actually start enjoying
- 30:13the thing. Yeah.
- 30:15We won't have to worry about TV's falling on me because there
- 30:18won't be 1. Well, that it's in, unless he
- 30:22wants to put one back on there. One when I'm on it.
- 30:28OK, pull a Linus. I was thinking about mounting
- 30:36that one like off the ceiling but I never got to.
- 30:40We were too busy. Yeah, never not busy with that
- 30:44boat. Yeah.
- 30:47Feel like that's like a house on steroids.
- 30:49It really was. 'Cause it's like it's not just,
- 30:55you know, it's not just like the typical house stuff that you
- 30:58have to deal with, you also have to deal with it rocking
- 31:00constantly. So there are things that are
- 31:03going to go bad just because it's constantly moving.
- 31:06It depends on where you're at when it comes to moving.
- 31:09Like with us, the only time it moved was when assholes were
- 31:15literally. Yeah.
- 31:16But if you're, if you're walking around and shifting the weight,
- 31:19I mean, it's not like moving a ton.
- 31:22It's moving enough, moving more than this house.
- 31:26Yeah. So there are things that are
- 31:28going to go bad just from the shifting weight of the boat on
- 31:33the water. I know whenever Chance got up on
- 31:36the boat it would move. Oh yeah, he's a big boy.
- 31:40Just just his weight. Stepping onto the boat.
- 31:42It would move around. Yeah, we had three dogs, 3
- 31:46pitbulls above 55 just. Looked at this picture.
- 31:53Yeah, no. Which one is?
- 31:56That so I sent him the one with the cruise ship.
- 31:58Oh yeah. It's, it's a Carnival cruise.
- 32:00I just looked at the tag. Yeah, it's literally a Carnival
- 32:03cruise. It's the biggest thing you've
- 32:05ever been near. And it was that.
- 32:07That's my boat in the bottom. I don't even know if you noticed
- 32:09there's another boat in that picture.
- 32:10Yeah, no, there's, there's three boats, but I see the, I see your
- 32:14boat. Can you see how we're not inside
- 32:17the Marina or on the outside? Yes.
- 32:19There's nothing separating me and him.
- 32:21Mm. Hmm.
- 32:22I'm just at his mercy. Please slow down.
- 32:24Yeah, I think that's why that one didn't blast us out of the
- 32:27waters, because he was like, oh look, another boat.
- 32:30That's insane. Yeah, that's the thumbnail.
- 32:35So at 4:00 in the morning, I mean half asleep with Caddyshack
- 32:39playing, I'm nice and peacefully half asleep and I get literally
- 32:42lifted out of the water by that thing and thrown onto the dock.
- 32:46It was unbelievable. That's crazy.
- 32:49The, The captain's quarters have a door and dad was down in the
- 32:53captain's quarters with the door shut and the Hatch locked above
- 32:56it. So I mean, he's fully enclosed
- 32:57in the bedroom. And we literally lifted up.
- 33:01Like, I felt myself lift up out of the bed like I'm, I'm, I'm
- 33:04going to heaven, like, and then slam back down.
- 33:07And he, he immediately slung the door open and pulled the
- 33:11hatchback and he's still in his boxers and he goes cruise ship,
- 33:14cruise ship, cruise ship. He's he's on night medication
- 33:20and everything. And he's stumbling up the
- 33:21stairs. Yeah, that was, I'll never, ever
- 33:28forget that, man. That was that was an absolutely
- 33:30insane 2 1/2 days. When I got back, I just laid
- 33:35down in the grass. I was like, oh, thank you.
- 33:37God, man, that was that was too much.
- 33:42Yeah, it was, I'm not going to say terrible planning because I
- 33:48mean, it was fine, but the storm and that one Marina that was
- 33:53that absolutely rocked me, man. I was like, I won't do this
- 33:57anymore. Let's take it back, let's get
- 33:59our money back. I won't do this anymore.
- 34:04I also, we were looking at, we're looking at a few a lot
- 34:09closer to home and some on the same waterway that we were
- 34:11already on. And we didn't have to go to the
- 34:14ocean and come around and go all the way to the north and come
- 34:17back and all that good jazz. And it just happened to be that
- 34:20that one was the one that we got and that one was the one that we
- 34:23needed for what we needed and yadda, yadda, yadda.
- 34:26And I was like, all right, now it's three days to home.
- 34:29Let's hope like hell we've never piloted this boat.
- 34:32I, I spoke to the owner twice. He didn't tell me anything more
- 34:36than don't flip that switch. If that switch is on.
- 34:40He's like, cuz shit up, bad shit will happen all over the boat,
- 34:43bad stuff will happen. That was it.
- 34:45He's like, you've been on a boat before, right?
- 34:47And I was like, yeah, definitely never something like that.
- 34:50I've never been on a boat with a bow thruster, ever.
- 34:54That's. Yeah, he just straight up.
- 34:56He was like, you're the keys. Bye.
- 34:59I told you I called him like a month ago.
- 35:01No numbers changed. I was like, oh, that doesn't
- 35:05bode well. But at the same time like.
- 35:11It all worked out, but yeah, that I was like, oh, don't like
- 35:15that. Yeah, well, it's yours now.
- 35:22Yeah, it's mine now. Jesus.
- 35:25Oh, I'm excited. What an adventure.
- 35:28It's it's one of my favorites. I've been on a lot of insane
- 35:34straight up Lord of the Rings. We're going on an adventure and
- 35:39that was that's one of my top three at least like.
- 35:43Yeah, that's just, that's insane.
- 35:46It was also really cool because I hadn't seen Dad and in a while
- 35:50and it was nice to actually like take a trip with because I don't
- 35:53think me and him have taken a trip together in years.
- 35:56And it was, it was nice to actually just go, hey, you feel
- 35:59like taking the Friday off of work and running up to the coast
- 36:03with me and grabbing a boat and driving at home for three days.
- 36:06And he was like, yeah, that sounds like a blast.
- 36:08Yeah, let's do it. I was like, yeah, let's do that.
- 36:10And we just, we literally got a cooler together and jumped on
- 36:13the boat and started running. She dropped us off at the dock
- 36:18and it's none of it's further than an hour from where we were.
- 36:22So she could literally just drive over where we were on the
- 36:25bank and go hi, it's just a river.
- 36:28Like she's right. She's 30 feet from me, so it's
- 36:31not that bad. But it was funny.
- 36:32It was like I was writing like it.
- 36:34You feel that like back in the day, like World War 2, like I'm
- 36:37writing love letters. Like, it's been so long since
- 36:40I've seen my Lorne like. And then I watched.
- 36:45You're you turn into a a civil war.
- 36:48Revolutionary War? Yeah, no civil war.
- 36:52The the yeah, 'cause where we're at.
- 36:59Oh, no. It was just a terrible movie.
- 37:03Yeah. The Twitter accounts, right, of
- 37:07different athletes as if they were generals from that era and
- 37:13riding home. Oh, it's so good.
- 37:15And so they, they talk about their enemies from, you know,
- 37:20like the basketball team they just played right, You know, and
- 37:23I just, I, I follow several of those accounts and they're just.
- 37:26So funny. Gold.
- 37:28It's so good. It's.
- 37:29One of those ideas where it's like, I should have thought of
- 37:31that and I'm mad I didn't, but I'm glad somebody did.
- 37:35Oh yeah, and there's a I'm glad. Somebody thought that idea
- 37:38enough to put it down on paper. That's so funny.
- 37:43But I, I think definitely one of our, one of our episodes should
- 37:48be letting both of you pilot that boat And just, I'm telling
- 37:55you, your face flushes with white man.
- 37:59You go, Oh my God, you don't realize like it's a big boat and
- 38:03then you drive it and you're like, Oh my God, it's, it's way
- 38:06bigger than I thought. Yeah, I don't.
- 38:10I don't know if I would like that at all.
- 38:12Let me see if. I can.
- 38:13It's also that inner helm is like fully enclosed, like doors
- 38:17shut and everything. It's the weirdest feeling to
- 38:19drive a boat fully, like inside it's the strangest feeling.
- 38:28Yeah, here it is. OK, So Captain Kylan Boswell,
- 38:33young leader of Men Homegrown in the fields of Illinois, Honorary
- 38:37dis chargie from the Battles of the Pacific parody account.
- 38:41OK. Dear Mother, Air is thick with
- 38:47tension while people pick their campus for future battle or
- 38:50camps for future battle. Today, Lieutenant Tommy's
- 38:55brother will join our ranks. He brings a unique blend of
- 38:58strength and familiarity, reminding us that our fight is a
- 39:04family affair. Lieutenant Big Z is now a
- 39:07brother of mine, Casey. Jesus Christ.
- 39:11It's so good. I love all of this.
- 39:14This is a it's a basketball player for the University of
- 39:18Illinois. That's really.
- 39:19Good, they're parenting. You know, that's really good.
- 39:22That's just the first one I thought of, like I knew I would
- 39:25be able to find him. I'm just.
- 39:26Glad somebody thought enough to go.
- 39:29I think this would be really funny, like turning.
- 39:32I think their started. Game interview into a letter.
- 39:36Home. It wasn't even post game.
- 39:37It's literally the dudes are typing out current events 'cause
- 39:42this was not like even a post game interview.
- 39:45This was one of the brother or one of the players on the team
- 39:49has a twin brother who plays for another basketball team who just
- 39:52transferred to Illinois so that he could play.
- 39:55So the twins are playing together.
- 39:57Do you know how legendary like of a father you have to be to
- 40:00have twin boys that both play college basketball?
- 40:05That both play college basketball overseas.
- 40:09Like. Because these guys are from who
- 40:13cares? A stand, Yeah.
- 40:14You know, like I, I don't know where they're from, but like.
- 40:21Cares is stands awesome. No, I think it's it's awesome.
- 40:26But they they both got, you know, recruited to play college
- 40:32basketball in another country. The idea of having a son is
- 40:39like, hell yes. And then you have two and
- 40:41they're twins and they both play college ball and you're like
- 40:44both. D1 starters.
- 40:46They both survived childhood I got them through and now they're
- 40:50both D1 start. Like Jesus Christ, just sit.
- 40:54Back. Just relax man.
- 40:56Possibility of making that a career.
- 40:59You did it. Relax.
- 41:00That's crazy. Retire, never have another kid
- 41:04like you. You did it.
- 41:06You did it so good the first time.
- 41:07You should never ever attempt it again.
- 41:09Like that's so funny. The twins have a sister who
- 41:12hears this podcast. She's like, thanks guys you
- 41:15hated. It.
- 41:16Thanks five stars. Hanks hated it.
- 41:21So good. Oh, I hope that's the bit.
- 41:26Oh, yeah. God, I hope every comment, every
- 41:28review of the podcast is just. Thanks.
- 41:30Hated it. Yeah.
- 41:34Please review us. Ryan, I'll do a senpai dance.
- 41:41Dude I would love to make. To do a senpai dance.
- 41:45No, no, not even. I would love.
- 41:47I would love to make a podcast. I don't know, category.
- 41:57Yeah, I don't, you know, something on on the show of us
- 42:02just reading the most degenerate reviews of our podcast.
- 42:07I'm so excited for that. Oh yeah, that is 100 percent,
- 42:11100% what I'll do. Degenerate comments like just
- 42:15set it up to where we just have degenerate comments.
- 42:19I saw somebody the other day who was, I think they, they launched
- 42:23their own site and it's where they host their common content
- 42:27that they can't put on YouTube or TikTok or any of that stuff.
- 42:30It's it's if it's edgy or if it talks about a certain virus or
- 42:34it does this or does that, they don't want to get demonetized.
- 42:36So they take it to their own site.
- 42:37But the site's like 4 bucks a month.
- 42:39It's like a Patreon slash their own hosting service.
- 42:44And he recognized while people were signing up initially, he
- 42:51called them out in a video and he's like, hey, I just want to
- 42:53talk to y'all. I know everybody's probably
- 42:56fine, but I just need to check in.
- 42:59You guys know I can see your usernames, right?
- 43:03They're all as bad as you think and more.
- 43:05It's it's some of the most degenerate shit ever.
- 43:08And then when he made the video, he noticed that it got worse.
- 43:12Oh yeah, of. Course, so he made a follow up
- 43:14and he goes OK now that you guys know I can see it now here are
- 43:19the names that I appreciate and he just he goes off 2030 names
- 43:23or and it's just the most unhinged shit.
- 43:30What is happening? Goose wants in his chair, Yeah.
- 43:35Stop it. He.
- 43:37Hawked up and just licked him. Yeah, just yeah.
- 43:40I was falling asleep earlier and he just started licking my
- 43:43ankle. I think I passed out, I don't
- 43:45even know. Weird dog.
- 43:49No, they they don't mind the boat either.
- 43:52I'll say we've had him on there a couple of times while we're
- 43:55like going and as long as you don't lock them down in the
- 43:58bedroom, they don't mind. I know chance when I would go up
- 44:05there I. Just spiked that mic so hard.
- 44:08When I would go up there, Chance would just go and chill out.
- 44:14On the back. Deck on the on, Yeah, yeah.
- 44:17Anywhere. Anywhere he could get sun and he
- 44:19just plopped. He loved the outside of that
- 44:23boat, man. I say he, he was an outside dog
- 44:30before. Yeah.
- 44:31And then we moved out to the literally the country.
- 44:34I mean, it's it's might as well be there's a like there's a
- 44:39farm, 25 acres that backs up to that place.
- 44:43So I mean, we're we're out there and he was just such an outside
- 44:48dog. He's like, never bring me
- 44:49inside. And if you do, I'm going to be
- 44:51like, I'm going to bitch and moan about it, man.
- 44:53He was like, as soon as you bring him in, he'd start whining
- 44:56and go to the doors. Like let me back out.
- 44:58He's like, I love it out here. Let me go.
- 45:02Hey, he got out of the fence a few times.
- 45:06I think I showed you that. Yeah, he he'd get under the
- 45:09fence, but every single property in that location, like it just
- 45:14in that like neighborhood, every single property has fences.
- 45:18So every property is fenced to the next property.
- 45:22So he dug through the fence into another fenced yard.
- 45:25And then just, yeah, he he looked at me.
- 45:28He's like, what the hell is this place?
- 45:30Like, he's like, I don't even like it here anymore.
- 45:33He. This is a prison.
- 45:35He walked across the He walked across the seawall around the
- 45:41fence into the neighbors like area.
- 45:44And I was like, what are you doing?
- 45:46Like now you're in another fenced area.
- 45:49You were already in a fence to just walk back around, just come
- 45:53back this way. He, he'd make it a game as they
- 45:57do. I literally would jump over the
- 45:59fence 'cause it's just an empty lot, just fenced and I, I jump
- 46:02over the fence and he'd like do the praying pose.
- 46:05He's like, come get me fucker. And he'd just run around the
- 46:08lot. We had a an orange cat that
- 46:14somebody left at the property. Beans.
- 46:16His name was Beans and he would jump from the seawall onto the
- 46:22back deck of the boat not knowing Chance was up there
- 46:26because the boat is like 6 feet higher than the seawall and the
- 46:30cat would literally get on top of the boat.
- 46:32And Chance does not play with cats.
- 46:34Yeah. He plays with them, yeah.
- 46:38He eats them. So the cat would literally get
- 46:41to the deck and Chance would realize what's happening and
- 46:44like immediately go after it. The cat would jump into the
- 46:47river and swim back to the way where he just was.
- 46:51I'd come outside 'cause I heard Chance like losing his mind up
- 46:54on top of the boat and I'd just see the cat walking away just
- 46:58shaking all the water off. He did that like 3 times.
- 47:01I'm like stop jumping onto this boat.
- 47:03This is. Your.
- 47:04Fault. It's a huge dog on this boat,
- 47:06like there's two huge dogs and a very fast little dog like stop
- 47:11jumping onto this boat. You see him cuddling.
- 47:16Goose is using chances of blanket and a pillow their.
- 47:19Best buds. The babies.
- 47:23But I yeah, I didn't know how that was going to work, man.
- 47:29I really didn't. See a little best?
- 47:34It works though, if you can, if you can find a cheap place to
- 47:38dock. Man, living on a boat is fucking
- 47:40sweet. It's it's especially right now
- 47:44when everything is as insane as it is.
- 47:46Like just get you a boat. You can bring that thing in the
- 47:50middle of the city. There's marinas right there in
- 47:53the middle of Orlando. You just, you can just be in
- 47:56downtown Orlando on the boat like it's, it's such a good
- 47:58idea. It's.
- 47:59Literally like a. Condo.
- 48:02Not even like a tiny home. Yeah, actually, yeah.
- 48:05Like a floating tiny home. Yeah, it's, it's so, so cool.
- 48:08And somebody that was very claustrophobic had no problem.
- 48:13I mean I had a problem but. She said no problem.
- 48:18Well, some problem. Well, sound like.
- 48:21Too crazy, but. That shower was a joke.
- 48:25That, yeah. I I was asking dad the other
- 48:27day. I was like, can you fit there?
- 48:29No, the shower head is at his chest.
- 48:31Yeah, I'm like, alright, we're gonna fix that.
- 48:34Everybody that I talked to that knew that we were on the boat,
- 48:37like my old boss specifically was like, why?
- 48:43Like why? Why are you on a why are you
- 48:45living on a boat? What are?
- 48:46What are you doing? People.
- 48:49And I'm like, it's not not that bad.
- 48:50They're like, Amber, what are you doing?
- 48:53Oh my God. I don't care.
- 48:54I told everybody it's cheap. It's so cheap.
- 48:57It was like same as the rest of it.
- 48:59It was like 600 bucks a month. It's the cheapest thing out
- 49:01there for a two-bedroom, 2 bath with three dogs.
- 49:05Come on. Yeah.
- 49:06Nobody's going to let you have three pit bulls in an apartment.
- 49:09It's such a good idea. I wouldn't mind getting a boat.
- 49:13It's it's a really good idea. Let's say the the part is the
- 49:17finding of cheap place to keep it.
- 49:19That was the hard part. Like that's we got lucky.
- 49:23I'd say we were looking for a Marina last month and I happen
- 49:26to know the guy and he was like, yeah, I got a couple available.
- 49:29He's like, you better get him quick though.
- 49:32He's like they're going. No.
- 49:37I've kept tabs on a couple different marinas through the
- 49:40years and it's like, Nope, we're full up.
- 49:43We're full up all year. Every year we have a wait list
- 49:46and the price goes up every year because of that.
- 49:49And it's like, if you find a cheap place to keep it, man,
- 49:52take it. It's such a good idea.
- 49:59Yeah. I mean, I don't see that
- 50:02happening anytime soon. You got to get bike first.
- 50:05I got to get a bike first. I say now Luke, he's got one.
- 50:09I say you got to get one. Yeah.
- 50:12We'll take you and Luca and we'll take the bikes because
- 50:15he'll be up in Hawthorne. So do.
- 50:20You say Luca? I didn't want to say his name.
- 50:23I say we can meet in the middle on the bikes and just yeah,
- 50:27yeah, do the Loop take you all out to Cedar Key on your first
- 50:32day riding a bike like I did. No, you guys can go, not me.
- 50:40The guy that you. Can get in the bars this time.
- 50:42Oh. Yeah, I can.
- 50:44Yeah. Plus but the reason why I didn't
- 50:47want to go is cause the bike situation was terrible.
- 50:51Still terrible, I mean. It's better than sitting on the
- 50:55back of a A. Shadow, yeah.
- 50:58The wheel, was it Fender? Yeah, yeah, there was no, there
- 51:04really wasn't a seat. On the Shadow, Yeah, it was just
- 51:07a pad. Yeah, on the wheel.
- 51:08I'm totally with you. Yeah, I agreed.
- 51:11So bad. No AI could.
- 51:13I could put that Mustang seat back on the Harley, but at that
- 51:17point it's still just a pad. Get a sidecar.
- 51:22I I would keep trying to get. A sexy.
- 51:24I keep trying to get one, she won't do it.
- 51:26So cool. I want a sidecar.
- 51:28I've wanted a sidecar for years. I am that guy.
- 51:32I don't care. I will run a sidecar.
- 51:34I think they're great. You can.
- 51:35Be. In the sidecar, in his, on his
- 51:38bike. So you going to drive my bike?
- 51:40Doesn't say where you going to go.
- 51:41Or whoever else wants to take me for a ride.
- 51:45The fuck? She's like, I don't try.
- 51:48Or I go with his dad on his bike.
- 51:50Hated it. I go on his dad's bike.
- 51:53No, the sidecar wouldn't be a bad idea for if we're going to
- 51:57make like a a couple day trip, Yeah, and just throwing bags
- 52:01into it. I love a sidecar, dude.
- 52:04I'll do it every time. Like if somebody was like, I
- 52:06have a sidecar to give you, I immediately taking it like it's
- 52:10so there. Is no question about it.
- 52:13I love it, it's so cool. I I like.
- 52:16I like odd shit. I like, I like.
- 52:19They're so odd, too unique, yes, and I just I don't there's
- 52:25something about the sidecar and honestly, I would love to have a
- 52:32sidecar and then have a dog with those like the big ass like
- 52:42goggles and just chilling in the sidecar like that would just
- 52:48just riding around with a dog in the sidecar.
- 52:52I would that scares me only because I've I've met goose.
- 52:55Oh, yeah. No, no, no, no, I understand.
- 52:57No, an actual dog. Yeah.
- 52:59Yeah. A trained dog yeah to know and.
- 53:03And latched in yeah you know properly safety concerns you
- 53:08know all that stuff. But I've seen the dude that
- 53:12rides around with his like Goldendoodle or something, one
- 53:17of those dogs with excessive curly hair and he's got just big
- 53:24ass goggles on. He's got a little helmet where
- 53:27the ears like go around the helmet.
- 53:29That's so cool. Oh, it's adorable.
- 53:31And he's got a backpack like harness for him.
- 53:35On the dog. On So the dog has a harness on
- 53:39and it's a backpack for him, so the dog's just chilling on his
- 53:42back, just riding on on the sport bike he drives around.
- 53:46That's too cool. Yeah, and the dog loves it.
- 53:50If I had a dog that was chill, sure, but I've met the goose and
- 53:55he's the worst dog I've ever had in a car ever.
- 53:59He's almost caused like 3 accidents.
- 54:01Like that dog is the worst thing to put in a car.
- 54:04I don't even know what his deal is.
- 54:06He just loses his mind dude. He'll run under the pedals,
- 54:09he'll he'll shift the shifter on you, he'll jump like through
- 54:13your lap under the steering wheel and then grab the door
- 54:16handle with his claws and try and open the door.
- 54:19It's the craziest thing. Puts it in neutral and reverse
- 54:22at the same time. You see the dog on TV.
- 54:26In the black lap. Missed it.
- 54:27I saw it. It was a water Buffalo.
- 54:29Yeah, pretty much. That was a big dog.
- 54:32Big poppers. Yeah, I think, I think
- 54:36everything's starting to line up and starting to do what it needs
- 54:38to be doing and what it should have been doing for the last
- 54:40like 3 years. So I'm glad that it's all
- 54:44starting to get to where it needs to be.
- 54:46And we'll get a bike, we'll get the boat.
- 54:49We'll actually start taking this stuff out and enjoying Florida
- 54:52like it should be enjoyed. Because I haven't, I haven't
- 54:55camped and I don't know the last time I went camping.
- 55:00Yeah, I haven't. I haven't camped since I lived
- 55:03in Illinois. I.
- 55:04Don't know the last time I took the boat out like for real.
- 55:07The last time we camped was 2017.
- 55:12Jesus, I have looked at. 10 years.
- 55:16Tents that are made to go on the back of my SUV.
- 55:26Oh yeah, I love those. Throw up the tailgate and then
- 55:30it just. I love those.
- 55:32I would and and that's like large enough for me maybe one
- 55:37other person to easily get away with and just go on a a trip.
- 55:44I would say I comfortably slept in the back of the Eclipse with
- 55:47her. It was great.
- 55:49It was honestly one of my favorite camping cars.
- 55:51I was like, this thing's sick. You put the backseat of an
- 55:53Eclipse down and it's a hatchback, so the whole thing is
- 55:56just a barrel. It's so comfortable.
- 56:00We were not comfortable. You weren't.
- 56:03I slept like a rock. We had mentioned if we slept the
- 56:06other way we would have had better sleep.
- 56:09Plus it was like raining like crazy.
- 56:12I think it's all slept so well. We we put the tackle boxes in
- 56:15the bottom of the tent and when we woke up, the tent was like 10
- 56:18feet that way. They just took off in the middle
- 56:21of the night even with stuff in it.
- 56:23And I was like, Oh my God, man, what are we doing camping right
- 56:26now? Like it was like a, it was a, it
- 56:30was a beach campsite and it was like a Gale in the middle of the
- 56:33night with rain and Thunder. And it just took the tent with
- 56:35it. And I was like, Nah, we're
- 56:37getting in the car. It was, we were fine for like a
- 56:39good 10 minutes and then it started dripping into the tent
- 56:42and I'm like, Nope, getting back in the car electronics.
- 56:46I was like, we're sitting there watching friends or something.
- 56:48I was like, back in the car. No I I had a Ranger with a
- 56:54Topper and check this out. Blow up mattress in the back of
- 57:00the Topper with a heated blanket.
- 57:02'Cause it was like 20°. Oh, I love cold weather.
- 57:06Was the best. Oh yeah, yeah.
- 57:09Everybody in the campsite, there's like 10 of us.
- 57:11Everyone froze to like completely froze all night long.
- 57:15Yeah. I'm in boxers with the dog in
- 57:18between me and her and it's it's 80° in the back of this this
- 57:22camper and I'm literally sweating like pulling the
- 57:25blanket off in the middle of the night.
- 57:26I'm like. In the window I'm like.
- 57:30Steam is pouring out of this camper.
- 57:32Everybody's like, I hate him so much.
- 57:35Because they had like bundled up with so many blankets, slept in
- 57:39like 3 hoodies and like. They would all get up in the
- 57:43middle of the night to go sit by the fire to warm up and then go
- 57:46back to bed. I'm like my not doing that.
- 57:49My dad's talked about now that he's retiring, he's talked about
- 57:54getting a camper, like an actual RV to do our football trips
- 58:00every year and. Does he do like, restoration
- 58:03work? Like, can he do cabinets and
- 58:06electrical and plumbing and all that?
- 58:07Yeah, no. Oh, never mind.
- 58:09My dad doesn't know anything about a screwdriver shots.
- 58:13Shots fired at Charles. No, no, he will be the first one
- 58:15to tell you this. He he said that he did not
- 58:20understand where I got my like love of working like with tools.
- 58:26And stuff. My mechanical like enjoyment.
- 58:29He's like, I don't know where that came from.
- 58:31He's like, it's not from me, it's from it's from mom's side
- 58:34because it's not. He's like, I have a toolbox and
- 58:38I don't know what's in there, but that man knows his way
- 58:42around a garden. Heard he's got the greenest
- 58:46thumb of anyone I know outside of my great Aunt Laura.
- 58:49Same with my dad. Yeah, it's the weirdest thing,
- 58:52man. It's a dead plant.
- 58:54Yeah. He he picks the pot up with his
- 58:56thumb, literally with his thumb and puts it on the shelf.
- 58:59And I can already see the plant. Like, like it picks up.
- 59:02It's crazy. Yeah, outside of my grandpa who
- 59:05actually farmed for a living, you know, and my great aunt
- 59:09Laura, who has just a ridiculous garden, I've never seen anyone
- 59:16garden like my dad. Yeah, like just he, I mean, he
- 59:21loves it and that's great, you know, 'cause we always had fresh
- 59:25veggies and he would share it with neighbors and stuff, 'cause
- 59:29we, he always had way more than we could ever eat.
- 59:34But yeah, if if it comes to fixing something with tools, he
- 59:41he's just like, yeah, I don't have somebody he called somebody
- 59:45to take care of the garden hose that froze to the if that tells
- 59:52you anything like and he'll he'll be the first one to say
- 59:55it. So this is not I'm not throwing
- 59:57shade at him. Shots fired anyway, But that's
- 1:00:00just, you know, that's him. He just that's not never been
- 1:00:03something that he learned. I, I think it's just that type
- 1:00:07of generational man because I, I knew another guy around my dad's
- 1:00:12age around that generation that he, he worked a mechanical job.
- 1:00:16Like he was, I think he was actually in like service and
- 1:00:19maintenance and mechanical. And he would come home, grab a
- 1:00:23beer and go in the backyard and he had a literal like Florida
- 1:00:27rainforest lush, like dragon plant garden.
- 1:00:34It was insane. And he just went out there with
- 1:00:36the garden hose and he drank till the sun went down and just
- 1:00:39beer. Like he'd sit out there by
- 1:00:40himself in the silence and just sit there and water the plants
- 1:00:44until he went to bed. I was like, this is the weirdest
- 1:00:47hobby I've ever seen but I get it.
- 1:00:49Like I I understand. Totally.
- 1:00:51I totally peace. Yeah, the peace.
- 1:00:53And then the it's, it's an actual accomplishment 'cause you
- 1:00:57can see all the stages. You.
- 1:00:59See anywhere from the plants starting to come up and then all
- 1:01:02the way to the point where you're literally picking fresh
- 1:01:06veggies and fruits off of the plants.
- 1:01:09I know 111 of them. At least I know one of them did
- 1:01:12it because he was like, if I'm in this house a second longer,
- 1:01:16I'll kill everyone inside. I got to get out of this house.
- 1:01:20Right now. The only way to do it is go
- 1:01:21Outback and garden because I know the kids aren't coming out
- 1:01:24here to mess with it because they hate being outside.
- 1:01:27They've got video games and everybody else has AC inside.
- 1:01:30They won't mess with me. And I know one of them at least
- 1:01:33was like, Nah, if I'm out here, they won't come out here.
- 1:01:35It's like it's so funny. That's that's that garage thing.
- 1:01:40It very well could be one of the reasons my dad loved it.
- 1:01:43I mean, he loved spending time with us, don't get me wrong, but
- 1:01:47we were. Kids are a lot.
- 1:01:49Oh yeah. Kids, there's so much there's.
- 1:01:51Three of us within four years of each other.
- 1:01:54No. Two boys.
- 1:01:56Never girl, Never didn't smell like a gym sock in your room.
- 1:02:00Oh yeah, God. And me and my brother played
- 1:02:05every sport. Yeah, So my dad's, I mean, it
- 1:02:09didn't help that my dad was also a football coach growing up
- 1:02:12because, I mean, he he taught. I don't know if you ever knew
- 1:02:15this. Yeah.
- 1:02:15Yeah. He's a teacher.
- 1:02:16Yeah. Currently a principal.
- 1:02:18So he's finally retiring after, I don't know, 32 years, I think
- 1:02:2332 years of public service. Fucking legend.
- 1:02:27Oh yeah, 100%. Teaching high school students
- 1:02:30and coaching baseball coaching. He coached tennis because they
- 1:02:35didn't have a tennis coach. I guess they, I don't remember
- 1:02:37the exact story, but he coached tennis a year just to fill in,
- 1:02:44to make sure that they, the kids could, you know, do their sport
- 1:02:49that they love right. Then he comes home and y'all are
- 1:02:53arguing about a Wii Remote. He's like, I have to leave.
- 1:02:56Well, we didn't. It wasn't until 8th grade years,
- 1:03:02freshman year, we had video games in the house.
- 1:03:06We didn't have it like at all. So we went outside and played.
- 1:03:10We had wiffle ball like we had a backyard wiffle ball field and
- 1:03:15it was excellent. And then when we when my parents
- 1:03:20added on to the house, we had a addition that went right through
- 1:03:26home, home plate in third base. So we had to move to the next
- 1:03:31door neighbor's house. Sucks to suck, yeah?
- 1:03:33So we played baseball back there, lots of good memories.
- 1:03:36That's something I'd like to do is try a wiffle ball pitching.
- 1:03:40I've seen the videos dude. I would love to figure out how
- 1:03:44to do that because I can't. It's a.
- 1:03:45Challenge, but I love it. I cannot throw a fastball
- 1:03:49anymore. I did it I think two or three
- 1:03:51times since we've been together. And like the last time I did it
- 1:03:54completely tore my shoulder apart.
- 1:03:56It was, I pitched it three times.
- 1:03:58And the last time I literally like blew my shoulder apart.
- 1:04:02I was like, Nope. That's why I stopped doing it in
- 1:04:04the first place. I was like, I can't do that
- 1:04:05anymore. It's like I just I got bad
- 1:04:08shoulders. Couple years ago I I played
- 1:04:11catch with a buddy of mine when I went and saw him up in
- 1:04:14Illinois and I was like, I'm just going to see if I can throw
- 1:04:18the knuckleball again. And I pulled it out without
- 1:04:22telling him and pulled it out full throw knuckleball.
- 1:04:25And that ball knuckled and then dropped like it should have.
- 1:04:28And I was like, I still got it. And he goes, What was that?
- 1:04:34I I know for sure there's a couple sports that I'm just
- 1:04:38monster at, but the one that I had no idea was good at was
- 1:04:42dodgeball. I had no idea.
- 1:04:45I, I was like, I, as far as I know, I'm, I'm dog at this
- 1:04:48'cause I, you played it as a kid and I mean like a, a child and
- 1:04:52you remember getting absolutely clobbered in the face with a
- 1:04:56ball and you're like, never again.
- 1:04:57I never. Got cloppered in the face.
- 1:04:59Yeah, well, well, us baseball players love dodgeball.
- 1:05:02I played baseball all through my freaking childhood.
- 1:05:05Don't fight me. So I.
- 1:05:08US real baseball players. Got rocked with a ball at like
- 1:05:12age 4. And I was like, I'm not.
- 1:05:14I don't like that. That hurt.
- 1:05:15That hurt. Yeah.
- 1:05:16So when I got older, as it like a young adult, we went to this
- 1:05:21like, I don't even know one of those trampoline fun game houses
- 1:05:26and I don't even know why we were there.
- 1:05:27I don't know what was going on, but I remember being like, I
- 1:05:31felt like a Buddhist monk who locked in.
- 1:05:34I literally was just like deflect, catch, catch.
- 1:05:37I I caught it and then deflected his shot with his own caught
- 1:05:41ball at the same time and caught that one.
- 1:05:44It was like, who wants it? Like it was insane.
- 1:05:47I was like, I'm, I'm ready, like.
- 1:05:49I remember this. Where were we?
- 1:05:51I have no idea why we were even there.
- 1:05:53I remember that. It's so good.
- 1:05:56Was it with the kids? It might have been, but gotta
- 1:06:01find a. Trampoline place and I like
- 1:06:03almost broke my toe, but I didn't think you were there for
- 1:06:06that. I know T was there 'cause that's
- 1:06:15who. Like he looked over at me and
- 1:06:16was like, what the hell was that?
- 1:06:18And I was like, I have no idea. Like you break out of this the
- 1:06:21the vision and you're like. They were wasted.
- 1:06:25That's why I kind. Of Oh, I probably was, yeah.
- 1:06:28No, you. Do they serve 16 ounce beers at
- 1:06:31a fun zone? Yeah, I was.
- 1:06:32That was toast. I think so.
- 1:06:34Duh. I.
- 1:06:34Think so, of course. Yeah, that was fun.
- 1:06:39They come up to the table. They're like, Sir, we're going
- 1:06:41to have to take this beer tower. And I'm like, what?
- 1:06:43And they're like, we don't even sell these.
- 1:06:45We don't even know where you got this like.
- 1:06:46I'd love to do a trampoline thing again.
- 1:06:49But I brought it from home. You can't.
- 1:06:51That's why I. Just, oh, I didn't hear that
- 1:06:53part. I was like, you got a broken
- 1:06:55everything. Sir, how did you get this
- 1:06:57gasoline gas pump? Inside.
- 1:07:00Beer tap Tower In this place, we don't sell alcohol.
- 1:07:08Here I think, I think, I think if I had a shark attack and it
- 1:07:12took one of my limbs, I would just replace it with a beer tab.
- 1:07:17I was like, where was this going?
- 1:07:19Where did this come from? I think that would be my
- 1:07:22immediate, my immediate question to the doctor is like can would
- 1:07:26you mind, Oh my God, a latch in there so I can attach like a, a
- 1:07:31canteen in here like I have it. That's my first request.
- 1:07:34I have it, it's a keg leg. We were both.
