- 0:03Speaker 1: Wake up.
- 0:07Speaker 1: Kicking off your day in the best way. It's Sonia
- 0:10Speaker 1: and Joakim on the shock circuit. It is almost the weekend.
- 0:13Speaker 1: Welcome to Thursday morning. I think loads of runners are
- 0:17Speaker 1: preparing for the NTUC Income Eco Run happening on Sunday morning.
- 0:22Speaker 1: Not me. Every weekend got a run, huh. Needs to
- 0:25Speaker 1: be you one day. Come on. Singapore's number one hit
- 0:28Speaker 1: music station.
- 0:32Speaker 1: As a wrestling fan, I'm very excited for this weekend.
- 0:35Speaker 1: It's WrestleMania 42. 0, 42 means what, 42 seasons of WrestleMania.
- 0:41Speaker 1: 42 years 2 years of WrestleMania. Yes. So I'm very
- 0:45Speaker 1: sure it's streaming on Singapore time Sunday morning, then Monday morning,
- 0:49Speaker 1: so I'll be a bit distracted at work on Monday morning.
- 0:51Speaker 1: Hope you don't mind. I don't mind, but
- 0:53Speaker 1: boss is tuning in. She might mind. So matches to
- 0:57Speaker 1: look forward to. There's Brock Lesnar against Obafemi. I wonder
- 1:01Speaker 1: who they'll script to win. And then there's Cody Rhodes
- 1:04Speaker 1: against Randy Orton and Roman Reigns against CM Punk. I
- 1:08Speaker 1: only recognize Roman Reigns. Hey, but aside from that, I
- 1:11Speaker 1: don't know any of the names. Never mind, it's it's OK. Um,
- 1:14Speaker 1: coming up in just a little bit.
- 1:17Speaker 1: We just want to give a special shout out to
- 1:19Speaker 1: two schools that we went to just yesterday. Back to back. Exactly. Actually,
- 1:23Speaker 1: it's quite rare that we do back to back school visits. So, um,
- 1:26Speaker 1: a big shout out to them coming up in just
- 1:28Speaker 1: a bit, but not forgetting, you will get to do
- 1:30Speaker 1: your own shout out too just before 7 a.m. Just
- 1:33Speaker 1: wanted to give a very special shout out to two schools.
- 1:36Speaker 1: One is a secondary school and one is a tertiary institute.
- 1:39Speaker 1: Singapore Poly, thank you for having us and also MGS. Yay.
- 1:43Speaker 1: Just in case Singapore Poly.
- 1:45Speaker 1: Tertiary Institute and MGS is the secondary school. Obviously, why
- 1:49Speaker 1: would anyone confused? Why would MGS be a tertiary institute?
- 1:52Speaker 1: Singapore Polysecondary. I don't think anyone was thinking that, Joe, but,
- 1:57Speaker 1: but there's a neon secondary and a Neon Polytechnic. Yes.
- 2:01Speaker 1: Are they linked? Do you know? I don't think so.
- 2:04Speaker 1: I'm not entirely sure, but maybe they just like, are
- 2:06Speaker 1: they linked to Nan City? I mean, I don't think so, right?
- 2:08Speaker 1: It could be the same it's the same person, but
- 2:11Speaker 1: I don't think, I don't know if the developer anyway.
- 2:14Speaker 1: That is such an irrelevant question.
- 2:19Speaker 1: Um, thank you so much to the students for having us.
- 2:21Speaker 1: Like we had so much fun, to be honest. Yeah,
- 2:23Speaker 1: we had fun sharing with you about the basic presenting
- 2:28Speaker 1: as well as MGS and Singapore was a very nice pop-up. Yeah,
- 2:33Speaker 1: so we would love to see you at 987 cloud
- 2:37Speaker 1: very soon. It was, it would be fantastic and lots
- 2:39Speaker 1: of great acts, 8 acts in total, I believe. Is
- 2:41Speaker 1: that the final number? Final? OK.
- 2:44Speaker 1: Now, coming up later during the show, we've taken a
- 2:47Speaker 1: good hard look at 600 comments. It was not easy,
- 2:52Speaker 1: but we finally have the two winners for 987, or
- 2:55Speaker 1: rather the shock circuit's Disney adventure giveaway. I think for
- 2:58Speaker 1: last night I hit my screen time quota for the year. Yeah, yo,
- 3:02Speaker 1: you know what, it was really challenging to go through
- 3:04Speaker 1: so many great comments, and it breaks our heart that
- 3:06Speaker 1: we don't have more packages, you know. No, but you
- 3:09Speaker 1: know what, thank you very much for taking the time
- 3:11Speaker 1: to go leave a comment.
- 3:12Speaker 1: And they really sound excitable. And when me and Sonia
- 3:16Speaker 1: say this, we really mean it. We had a very
- 3:17Speaker 1: hard time. Everybody wants to win it for their 2
- 3:20Speaker 1: year old daughter, 8-year-old son, all these cute, lovely stories. Yes, actually,
- 3:26Speaker 1: what you brought up a very good point. You said
- 3:29Speaker 1: a lot of the people commenting for your package, his package,
- 3:33Speaker 1: they want to win it for their kids, but from
- 3:36Speaker 1: the hers package, they want to win it for themselves.
- 3:38Speaker 1: What does it say about me? Never mind.
- 3:40Speaker 1: of a two year old. I'll be a very good dad,
- 3:43Speaker 1: I think. OK, get the girlfriend first. Hey, stop it.
- 3:45Speaker 1: Coming up in just a few minutes, we're about to
- 3:47Speaker 1: open up phone lines for your shoutouts and for you
- 3:50Speaker 1: to tell us what school you're from. Yes, so let
- 3:52Speaker 1: us know over at 669-119-87. Couple of interesting schools the
- 3:57Speaker 1: past few weeks. Yeah, we, uh, past few days as well,
- 4:00Speaker 1: we had Tanjong Katong Primary School. Yesterday we had Miss
- 4:03Speaker 1: Stella Leong calling us. Used to be a teacher over
- 4:05Speaker 1: at Clementi Town Secondary. Yes, and I think
- 4:09Speaker 1: Her two kids actually go to two different schools as well.
- 4:11Speaker 1: Was it Radin Mass and C H I J Kellogg?
- 4:14Speaker 1: IJ Kellogg. Yeah. So who do we get today, we wonder, right?
- 4:17Speaker 1: We'll see. Tate McCray first before we open up the
- 4:20Speaker 1: phone line, so stand by. Hi, 987. I'm Sophia. Hello Sophia,
- 4:24Speaker 1: you sound great this morning. Which school are you from? Uh,
- 4:27Speaker 1: Chong Seng Primary School. Chong Cheng. Where is that location?
- 4:31Speaker 1: Is that Yishun? Uh, no, Tampines, I was gonna say. OK,
- 4:35Speaker 1: I'm so sorry.
- 4:37Speaker 1: Different areas. I used to go to uh for a
- 4:38Speaker 1: tuition class with a girl from Chongqing. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 4:42Speaker 1: that's why I figured. What color is your uniform, Sophia? Blue. Well,
- 4:46Speaker 1: what song can we get you today and who is
- 4:47Speaker 1: it going out to? Maybe you want to give a
- 4:49Speaker 1: shout out to your school and tell us how great
- 4:51Speaker 1: your school is. Uh, maybe something not so pop is
- 4:54Speaker 1: going out to my friends there. Oh, sure. Interesting. OK,
- 4:59Speaker 1: I'll get that for you. That's coming up in just
- 5:01Speaker 1: a second. You have a great day. OK, Sophia. Take care.
- 5:04Speaker 1: I'm here with you.
- 5:05Speaker 1: OK, well, let this be a cautionary tale for people
- 5:08Speaker 1: like me. Um, so, a couple of weeks back, 2
- 5:11Speaker 1: weeks back when Jeremy came to the studio, remember you
- 5:15Speaker 1: asked him one question, which was, what are some qualities
- 5:19Speaker 1: that he likes about me, but also what are some
- 5:22Speaker 1: things he like face palms or something? I forgot how
- 5:24Speaker 1: you phrased it. Yeah, so the face palm one was
- 5:26Speaker 1: you and your packages and giving money to all these people,
- 5:29Speaker 1: which is a good trait. I, I love that. No,
- 5:32Speaker 1: you know, you're such a great person, but thank you.
- 5:34Speaker 1: Like I, I know where you're going with this, you know,
- 5:39Speaker 1: all the scams and all that. So that's what Germ said, right?
- 5:41Speaker 1: He was like, yeah, you know, kindhearted and all that,
- 5:43Speaker 1: but like very likely to be scammed. OK, that's what
- 5:46Speaker 1: he said. Both of you are on the same page. Um,
- 5:48Speaker 1: unfortunately for this woman here in Singapore, by the way, she, um,
- 5:52Speaker 1: tried to redeem a complimentary voucher at like a beauty parlor, OK,
- 5:58Speaker 1: beauty place, right? Something like that. I'm assuming it's like
- 6:00Speaker 1: a facial joint or something.
- 6:03Speaker 1: Um, they didn't really specify, neither did they name the
- 6:06Speaker 1: beauty parlor, OK. Um, unfortunately,
- 6:09Speaker 1: She ended up spending $6500 on skincare products and she's
- 6:15Speaker 1: now taken this case to the small claims court, OK,
- 6:19Speaker 1: claiming that she was frightened into spending $6500. Unfortunately for her,
- 6:26Speaker 1: the judge has thrown the case out because there's not
- 6:30Speaker 1: enough evidence to show that she was, you know, frightened
- 6:33Speaker 1: into a corner or pressured to
- 6:35Speaker 1: To buy and I, I completely feel her, you know.
- 6:39Speaker 1: The thing is I understand how she feels. Sonia. It's
- 6:44Speaker 1: not me, it's not me. I'm just saying that I
- 6:46Speaker 1: can relate though it sounds like it could be her
- 6:48Speaker 1: as well though I will say I've never spent that
- 6:50Speaker 1: amount of money.
- 6:51Speaker 1: On a package before. It has never happened. You will. No, no, no,
- 6:56Speaker 1: I have more. I know how to say no now.
- 6:59Speaker 1: Maybe in total you will spend $6.50. No, no, no, no, no, no, no.
- 7:03Speaker 1: But for 10 months I'll have you swiping for $650 which.
- 7:09Speaker 1: Hold on, hold on. OK, so here's what happened. I
- 7:12Speaker 1: didn't end up spending 60, don't worry, OK. Um, but
- 7:15Speaker 1: um over at a certain nail place, right, I know
- 7:18Speaker 1: it's always either nails, hair, or face or whatever, right? Um, I'm,
- 7:22Speaker 1: I'm not gonna lie, I like them, like I really
- 7:24Speaker 1: do like them. It's just that every time my package
- 7:27Speaker 1: is ending, I get very nervous because I know that
- 7:30Speaker 1: towards the last two or three sessions, they gonna ask me.
- 7:35Speaker 1: Xiao Jie, you want to renew. No, no, mainly, you
- 7:37Speaker 1: want to renew. So there was one day I felt, wow,
- 7:41Speaker 1: I'm empowered. No, I was like, I'm empowered. I'm going
- 7:43Speaker 1: to say no. OK, I'm going to say no. OK.
- 7:46Speaker 1: So at the counter I said, no, it's OK. You know, uh, Puyongqing,
- 7:49Speaker 1: I will call you. I will, I will think about it.
- 7:53Speaker 1: Look at your Mandarin vocabulary. Suddenly improves. That was two words, dude.
- 7:59Speaker 1: I was like, I'll consider, you know, maybe next time.
- 8:01Speaker 1: And then she goes, Oh, but.
- 8:04Speaker 1: You know, so and so, my manicurist, she gave you
- 8:06Speaker 1: this very special prize, you know, and she, she offered
- 8:10Speaker 1: this to you. She don't offer anyone else. She tugged
- 8:12Speaker 1: at your heartstrings in your guilty conscience, and you signed. Yes,
- 8:16Speaker 1: you did. Reading the latest update from MOE kind of
- 8:21Speaker 1: brought back memories.
- 8:23Speaker 1: For me when I was in secondary school and primary school,
- 8:26Speaker 1: so this involves new rules kicking in in 2027 on
- 8:31Speaker 1: how they're going to tackle bullying more strictly. Oh, that's,
- 8:34Speaker 1: that's a good thing. Not just bullying, but other sorts of, uh,
- 8:37Speaker 1: naughty behavior from students, some of which I think I
- 8:40Speaker 1: might have done before.
- 8:42Speaker 1: See, yeah, because of you. Yeah, not just because of me.
- 8:45Speaker 1: Come on, people like you, I mean, bullying is prevalent
- 8:48Speaker 1: whether online or in person here in Singapore and I
- 8:50Speaker 1: think all over the world as well. So I don't
- 8:53Speaker 1: know about this one. So I'm kind of wondering.
- 8:56Speaker 1: Was the rotan taken away for a while and now
- 8:59Speaker 1: they're bringing it back? Good morning. Alrighty, so yesterday, I
- 9:03Speaker 1: think our friends over at MOE, they had a press conference,
- 9:07Speaker 1: doorstop interview, and it was said that bullying will be
- 9:10Speaker 1: tackled more strictly in schools by 2027. That's a good thing.
- 9:15Speaker 1: And I'm pretty sure when they say by 2027, yes,
- 9:18Speaker 1: I think the rules will be.
- 9:19Speaker 1: Enforced by then, but from now, I guess there will
- 9:23Speaker 1: be more eyes on any of the bullies in secondary
- 9:27Speaker 1: or primary school or even your tertiary institutes as well.
- 9:30Speaker 1: But I think the interesting thing is how bullying has evolved, right?
- 9:33Speaker 1: By the way, we're not paid to say this at
- 9:35Speaker 1: all because I know it may sound like a bit
- 9:37Speaker 1: of an agenda behind it, but no, because I think
- 9:39Speaker 1: Joakim and I when we were back in school.
- 9:41Speaker 1: Um, we didn't get access into, you know, TikTok, Instagram,
- 9:45Speaker 1: and all that, right? Yeah. But now things have evolved
- 9:48Speaker 1: so much. The bullying is no longer in person sometimes.
- 9:50Speaker 1: How are you going to tackle that? So earlier I
- 9:52Speaker 1: said not so serious offense and serious offense, I stand corrected.
- 9:57Speaker 1: It's actually classified as serious offense and then in red,
- 10:02Speaker 1: very serious offense.
- 10:04Speaker 1: OK, so some of the serious offenses include, I, uh,
- 10:10Speaker 1: things I've kind of done before, fighting.
- 10:16Speaker 1: I mean, you came from a boys' school, right? So
- 10:18Speaker 1: I mean not even mixed the tackle the angry and
- 10:23Speaker 1: you can't relate. I can't relate. I will not volunteer
- 10:27Speaker 1: myself for any game in PE.
- 10:31Speaker 1: So maybe for these things, right, it's considered a serious
- 10:35Speaker 1: offense for first-time offenders. Maybe detention, one stroke of the
- 10:40Speaker 1: rotan and a conduct grade adjustment. This applies for both
- 10:44Speaker 1: girls and boys. Yes, but for the boys, only the
- 10:48Speaker 1: boys will get caned. Yes, that's what I was gonna
- 10:50Speaker 1: upper primary. No, you can't cane girls, exactly, but you know.
- 10:55Speaker 1: That was a generic statement. That's why I was wanting
- 10:56Speaker 1: to clarify that. Another form of punishment for for for
- 10:59Speaker 1: the ladies, but very serious offenses, they they include repeat
- 11:05Speaker 1: offenders and things of course maybe in the, um, how
- 11:09Speaker 1: do I say this, circulating things you shouldn't circulate online
- 11:13Speaker 1: and in person and of course if you're bullying, if
- 11:16Speaker 1: you're like a repeat offender.
- 11:18Speaker 1: It will be more serious. How your conduct will become,
- 11:21Speaker 1: will become no better than fair. You could be suspended
- 11:25Speaker 1: and the caning strokes could be two strokes of the cane. OK.
- 11:29Speaker 1: But I'm glad they're taking this, you know, to the
- 11:31Speaker 1: next level, because I, I'm not sure whether there are
- 11:34Speaker 1: any statistics that show whether the rates of bullying have increased.
- 11:38Speaker 1: For sure. I mean, social media and TikTok and Instagram
- 11:41Speaker 1: has increased, all these anonymous accounts, but I'm gonna say
- 11:44Speaker 1: this as somebody who grew up in the generation where
- 11:46Speaker 1: public caning was a thing, it definitely struck fear in
- 11:50Speaker 1: a lot of us. It was quite scary to see
- 11:53Speaker 1: our schoolmate being caned.
- 11:55Speaker 1: In front of the assembly hall and in front of
- 11:59Speaker 1: everyone else. I mean, OK, that's when I was transferred
- 12:09Speaker 1: to a mixed school. So, as you know, said earlier,
- 12:13Speaker 1: sometimes the boys can be quite like mischievous and all that, right?
- 12:16Speaker 1: And because I was way too close, I was quite
- 12:18Speaker 1: close in age to the students at that point.
- 12:20Speaker 1: Um, of course, you know, my first experience trying to
- 12:23Speaker 1: teach like both boys and girls, it was very eye-opening
- 12:26Speaker 1: for me, a bit of a culture shock because I
- 12:29Speaker 1: was from an all-girls school for like 10 years, and
- 12:31Speaker 1: um I did get a little bit of um comments
- 12:35Speaker 1: from like the boys in school. I got disturbed by them, OK,
- 12:40Speaker 1: to which um the PE teacher was the one that
- 12:43Speaker 1: also doubles up as like the, I mean, I guess
- 12:45Speaker 1: he assists the discipline master, yeah.
- 12:48Speaker 1: And he will just stand at the classroom door, right?
- 12:50Speaker 1: He would just have to hold like a this like
- 12:52Speaker 1: wooden ruler, and the boys will keep quiet. Like he
- 12:55Speaker 1: doesn't even have to do anything though. He just stood
- 12:57Speaker 1: there holding the ruler like and looked, looked at them
- 12:59Speaker 1: very sternly. It's the kind of image that will become
- 13:02Speaker 1: a memory for all of us boys. And if you're
- 13:05Speaker 1: wondering about the teachers, yes, they will be sent for
- 13:07Speaker 1: courses to improve on how they diffuse the situation, identify bullies,
- 13:12Speaker 1: and also tackle it ASAP. I'm glad.
- 13:14Speaker 1: And I have so much respect for teachers. Clearly, I
- 13:17Speaker 1: did not pursue that path, that career path. It's not exactly,
- 13:22Speaker 1: and I have so much respect for you because now
- 13:24Speaker 1: you not only have to handle what you're set out
- 13:27Speaker 1: to do, which is, you know, teaching, grading, um, imparting knowledge,
- 13:31Speaker 1: you have to deal with parents, you have to deal with,
- 13:34Speaker 1: you know, cases like that, bullying, more so now than ever,
- 13:37Speaker 1: and not just any parent here in Singapore, the entitled
- 13:39Speaker 1: ones as well.
- 13:41Speaker 1: That's, that's scary. That's people management right there, man. So
- 13:45Speaker 1: lots of respect for teachers. Coming up in less than
- 13:47Speaker 1: 10 minutes, about to open up phone lines for $8000.
- 13:51Speaker 1: Here we go. For 987 Secret. I cannot wait. We're
- 13:54Speaker 1: on a Thursday. Tomorrow, if no one gets it right,
- 13:56Speaker 1: that means next Monday, we're getting closer to $10,000. It's
- 14:01Speaker 1: gonna be $9000 you're playing for. Do you think we'll
- 14:04Speaker 1: touch 10 and when will Boss Jen release some clues?
- 14:08Speaker 1: I'm very curious because Joakim and I and the rest
- 14:11Speaker 1: of the DJs, we don't know what the answer is
- 14:13Speaker 1: as well. So we, we're dying to know and clues
- 14:16Speaker 1: could help. I believe, and I'm just speculating here, that
- 14:19Speaker 1: when it hits $10,000 she'll drop a clue. That's when
- 14:23Speaker 1: she'll hit and give us a clue. OK, we'll we'll
- 14:26Speaker 1: see how that goes. Yo, 987.
- 14:34Speaker 1: sound
- 14:35Speaker 1: Good morning, this is Aaron. Hi Aaron, you sound super
- 14:39Speaker 1: energetic today. What are you up to? Sending my girls
- 14:41Speaker 1: to school. Right? Can we say hi to her? Hi.
- 14:46Speaker 1: OK, so my question to you is, Aaron, um, is
- 14:49Speaker 1: this a family effort? Like, did you guys come together
- 14:51Speaker 1: and discuss what were the possible answers for Secret Sound? Uh,
- 14:55Speaker 1: I mean, yes, we are. We hear it every morning.
- 14:57Speaker 1: OK but we never made the effort to call. Finally
- 15:00Speaker 1: you did and you got through. Aaron's feeling confident today.
- 15:02Speaker 1: If you win $8000 will you split it half-half with
- 15:05Speaker 1: your daughter? Yes. OK. OK. OK, listen very carefully.
- 15:12Speaker 1: Aaron, for $8000 what is a 987's secret sound? OK,
- 15:18Speaker 1: we think it is a cradle pendulum. A cradle pendulum
- 15:22Speaker 1: is your final answer. Yep. You are incorrect. Your chance
- 15:28Speaker 1: to play 987's secret sound continues.
- 15:33Speaker 1: That sound.
- 15:35Speaker 1: Aaron, not the answer we're looking for, and according to
- 15:38Speaker 1: boss Janice, Cradle pendulum has been said before a few times,
- 15:43Speaker 1: not on our show, but maybe other shows here on 987. Yeah,
- 15:46Speaker 1: but that was a good try, Aaron. Keep trying. Don't
- 15:49Speaker 1: give up and hopefully you'll be the winner at some point, OK? Yeah,
- 15:52Speaker 1: no worries. Thank you.
- 15:54Speaker 1: one sound, one guess.
- 16:00Speaker 1: What's that sound?
- 16:02Speaker 1: So I, I did notice over the last year or two,
- 16:07Speaker 1: conversations about personal hygiene have come up a lot on
- 16:10Speaker 1: social media, OK?
- 16:11Speaker 1: Um, from, from calling people out for not showering, you know,
- 16:15Speaker 1: and then boarding the trains and the buses and yes,
- 16:18Speaker 1: be careful we end up on Reddit. Oh, gosh, yeah. Well,
- 16:22Speaker 1: you know, um, there's a whole big conversation going on now.
- 16:25Speaker 1: You might have seen this video. Um, this guy posted.
- 16:28Speaker 1: Now he's not an influencer, OK? He was just airing
- 16:31Speaker 1: his thoughts on social media.
- 16:33Speaker 1: OK. And and for TikTok, right, anybody can post a
- 16:36Speaker 1: video and it can go viral. It might go viral. Exactly. Yeah. Um,
- 16:40Speaker 1: and he went for a convention that from what I
- 16:44Speaker 1: understand is a card convention. So like card collectors, enthusiasts
- 16:47Speaker 1: and all that might go and visit this place, OK.
- 16:50Speaker 1: And um when he came out of the convention, he
- 16:53Speaker 1: made some comments and he recorded it saying that, wow,
- 16:56Speaker 1: it was really very smelly. OK, so the collecting it.
- 17:03Speaker 1: They are saying that hey, you're making the card collecting
- 17:06Speaker 1: community look bad by saying these things. So they took
- 17:09Speaker 1: offense to that, to which he said, but I'm also
- 17:12Speaker 1: part of the collector. That's why I was there. That's
- 17:15Speaker 1: the that's his defense, and I completely agree with him.
- 17:18Speaker 1: I mean, maybe the way he said it was quite, it,
- 17:21Speaker 1: it was entertaining but quite abrasive. Maybe some people might
- 17:24Speaker 1: have taken offense to it, but some comments, hilarious comments
- 17:27Speaker 1: coming through as always, people are saying.
- 17:29Speaker 1: That um people are getting so angry because they're the
- 17:32Speaker 1: ones that never shower in the morning. OK, given our
- 17:37Speaker 1: friendship level, if I
- 17:40Speaker 1: Stink. You would tell me. I would, I would because
- 17:43Speaker 1: I'll do the same for you as well. I feel
- 17:45Speaker 1: as if I'm doing you a favor like So, I
- 17:47Speaker 1: think you might want to spray perfume or change your
- 17:49Speaker 1: t-shirt or something like that, you know what I mean?
- 17:51Speaker 1: I think, OK, it's safe to say for the both
- 17:53Speaker 1: of us, um, our tolerance for clothes that smell damp, we,
- 17:57Speaker 1: we have zero tolerance for it. OK, my only issue
- 18:01Speaker 1: is this people.
- 18:03Speaker 1: Make sure your your your shirt or your clothes are
- 18:05Speaker 1: dried properly before you put them on because if it's
- 18:08Speaker 1: still a bit damp and you wear it, that smell
- 18:11Speaker 1: mixed with perspiration and your perfume on board the MRT train. Yeah.
- 18:16Speaker 1: So the thing is I have a very sensitive sense
- 18:20Speaker 1: of smell, I guess. My nose is very sensitive.
- 18:23Speaker 1: So, um, there are times where I left my laundry
- 18:26Speaker 1: out in the balcony, right, and maybe it might have
- 18:28Speaker 1: rained or it's not very hot, so it doesn't dry properly.
- 18:32Speaker 1: I will throw it back in the washing machine or
- 18:34Speaker 1: I will, yeah, do my best to, I don't know,
- 18:36Speaker 1: Febreeze it or like sun it or something, but most
- 18:38Speaker 1: likely I'm going to rewash it. OK, so you would
- 18:41Speaker 1: tell me if I, if I'm smelly, for no better word.
- 18:45Speaker 1: What about others that you're not that close to?
- 18:48Speaker 1: So I have been in this situation before, actually. Um,
- 18:53Speaker 1: I did end up telling this girl just because, you know,
- 18:56Speaker 1: it's a girl, fellow sis, she, she handled it quite OK.
- 19:02Speaker 1: It's just that um we're not that close, so I
- 19:05Speaker 1: just wondered whether she took offense to it, but I
- 19:08Speaker 1: could have saved her, you know what I mean.
- 19:10Speaker 1: Just be honest sometimes in a gentle way. We can
- 19:13Speaker 1: open the phone lines at 669-11987 or you can WhatsApp
- 19:17Speaker 1: us your thoughts at 90050987. And the question today is,
- 19:21Speaker 1: I'm not sure whether you are experiencing it right now,
- 19:24Speaker 1: but if someone around you has bad personal hygiene,
- 19:28Speaker 1: Not just about the smell of the clothes or what
- 19:30Speaker 1: could be, you know, oral hygiene, could be teeth, could
- 19:32Speaker 1: be breath, it could be whatever. Would you tell this
- 19:34Speaker 1: person upfront, or will you just kind of like tahan
- 19:38Speaker 1: it or avoid the person? How would you navigate this? Yeah,
- 19:41Speaker 1: how would you? I know it's a difficult one to,
- 19:43Speaker 1: to start, you know, especially if you don't know the
- 19:44Speaker 1: person very well. Give us a call 669-11987 or drop
- 19:48Speaker 1: us a WhatsApp message 90,050.
- 19:51Speaker 1: 987. If you feel like someone around you really smells
- 19:55Speaker 1: bad or has bad personal hygiene, will you tell this
- 19:59Speaker 1: person and be honest. In exchange, we've got a pair
- 20:02Speaker 1: of tickets for you to be the first in Singapore
- 20:04Speaker 1: to catch Michael for 987 movie night happening April 21st.
- 20:09Speaker 1: And by the way, watch it with us for movie night.
- 20:11Speaker 1: Then if you can watch it again in IMAX. That's
- 20:13Speaker 1: gonna be.
- 20:14Speaker 1: Nice difference, right? But we want you to be the
- 20:15Speaker 1: first in Singapore to watch it. So please join us
- 20:17Speaker 1: for movie night that's happening. I believe it's next Tuesday. Yes. OK,
- 20:21Speaker 1: we're referencing a video that went pretty viral that sparked
- 20:24Speaker 1: off a bunch of conversations, not just on social media platforms,
- 20:28Speaker 1: but also Reddit forums and all that. This guy who
- 20:31Speaker 1: is not an influencer, you know, he said his two
- 20:34Speaker 1: cents on, on, uh, on TikTok initially first.
- 20:37Speaker 1: About how people over at this particular card convention that
- 20:41Speaker 1: he was at really had bad personal hygiene and they
- 20:44Speaker 1: smelled bad. By the way, to our local media, not
- 20:48Speaker 1: every single viral video means it comes from an influencer. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 20:51Speaker 1: it's true. It could have been a regular dude with
- 20:54Speaker 1: like 100 followers, you know I feel as if there's
- 20:56Speaker 1: an agenda against influencers, right, but I do feel.
- 21:01Speaker 1: Bad for him to some extent because the comments were
- 21:04Speaker 1: coming after his looks, his wife, you know, like just
- 21:08Speaker 1: his appearance, and uh he's since released another follow-up video,
- 21:12Speaker 1: but it prompted us to ask you this question today.
- 21:16Speaker 1: When it comes down to personal hygiene, right?
- 21:18Speaker 1: Do you feel like, you know, you've come across someone
- 21:21Speaker 1: around you that potentially smells bad or doesn't have great
- 21:24Speaker 1: personal hygiene, and will you tell this person? Saying good
- 21:27Speaker 1: morning to Kim. My mom has a 50 tolerance for
- 21:30Speaker 1: bad smelling people. We went for a movie last week.
- 21:34Speaker 1: I was smelling bad breath from my left from someone
- 21:37Speaker 1: munching his popcorn the entire show. My mom was smelling
- 21:41Speaker 1: BO from her right, and she said out loud, some
- 21:44Speaker 1: people just don't shower. And I was so embarrassed. Poor guy.
- 21:48Speaker 1: No, I think this is such a delicate topic, right,
- 21:51Speaker 1: but also the people that may have body odor may
- 21:53Speaker 1: not know they have body odor. You know what I mean?
- 21:55Speaker 1: They may not realize it. What's the term for it, uh,
- 22:00Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 22:04Speaker 1: One coming in from James RQ. Morning Sojo. It depends
- 22:07Speaker 1: if I'm close to the person. I have a friend
- 22:09Speaker 1: who perspires a lot, and there was one his top
- 22:12Speaker 1: wasn't dried properly and it was super stinky. I asked him,
- 22:15Speaker 1: do you use perfume with a rotten cheese scent?
- 22:19Speaker 1: But I guess you're on the level of friendship where
- 22:21Speaker 1: you can be honest about it, yeah, and your friend
- 22:24Speaker 1: will probably just go buy a new shirt. And that's
- 22:26Speaker 1: why when I know that I've perspired very badly, and
- 22:29Speaker 1: if I see someone I know and he or she
- 22:30Speaker 1: comes in for a hug, I'm like, guys, don't just, just,
- 22:33Speaker 1: just fist bump or something. Yeah, stay away. I, I,
- 22:36Speaker 1: I don't want any like self-aware, very self-aware. OK, when
- 22:40Speaker 1: we come back, more of your messages and your calls
- 22:43Speaker 1: as well.
- 22:43Speaker 1: We're going to head to the phone lines too, 669-11987.
- 22:47Speaker 1: Give us a call and tell us if someone around you,
- 22:49Speaker 1: could be a friend or a colleague or a family member, um,
- 22:52Speaker 1: smells bad or has not very good personal hygiene, will
- 22:56Speaker 1: you tell this person? Give us a call right now.
- 22:59Speaker 1: Phone lines are open in exchange for a pair of
- 23:00Speaker 1: movie tickets for you to be the first in Singapore
- 23:03Speaker 1: to catch Michael. Back to more messages and your calls.
- 23:07Speaker 1: Um, unfortunately, inspired by this video where, uh, a guy,
- 23:11Speaker 1: not an influencer, went on TikTok initially and then I
- 23:15Speaker 1: guess it went all over Instagram and other platforms as well,
- 23:18Speaker 1: about how people were really spelling quite bad over this
- 23:22Speaker 1: particular card collector's convention. Um, he got whacked pretty badly
- 23:25Speaker 1: in the comment section, you know, people attacking his looks,
- 23:29Speaker 1: his wife, this and that. So, um, he's since issued
- 23:32Speaker 1: a follow-up video. But the question is, if you know
- 23:35Speaker 1: someone around you,
- 23:37Speaker 1: That doesn't have the best personal hygiene. Will you tell
- 23:39Speaker 1: this person? Want to say good morning to Sue on WhatsApp.
- 23:43Speaker 1: Hey Sonia and Joakim, this reminds me of when I
- 23:45Speaker 1: used to work with a colleague in his twenties. Whenever
- 23:49Speaker 1: I worked the same shift as him, I would get
- 23:50Speaker 1: a headache because his clothes had that damp smell. Oh,
- 23:54Speaker 1: just by her typing that at me. I can smell
- 23:57Speaker 1: it already.
- 23:58Speaker 1: Like laundry that wasn't dried properly. I never said anything
- 24:01Speaker 1: because I understood he was staying in a rental room
- 24:03Speaker 1: and with shift work. It's hard to sun dry clothes. OK,
- 24:07Speaker 1: this is, this is tough. This is very tough to navigate.
- 24:09Speaker 1: I wonder if some sort of like Febreze help. No,
- 24:14Speaker 1: it might make it not because I think there's certain sprays,
- 24:18Speaker 1: if I'm not wrong, Febreze is supposed to help like
- 24:20Speaker 1: remove some of that mildew smell or whatever you call it.
- 24:23Speaker 1: I don't know. I mean, the safest thing he can
- 24:25Speaker 1: do is either dry it outside the place and pray
- 24:28Speaker 1: that no one takes his clothes or hang it near
- 24:30Speaker 1: the window so it can really dry he really needs
- 24:33Speaker 1: to buy drying fabrics like the t-shirts that are like
- 24:36Speaker 1: just dry fit stuff. I don't know. Perhaps, perhaps to
- 24:39Speaker 1: say good morning to Elliot. Hey guys, I worked in
- 24:42Speaker 1: an office and there's always this one girl that smelled
- 24:45Speaker 1: very bad. Felt like she just added her clothes instead
- 24:48Speaker 1: of washing it before wearing it again. To the extent
- 24:50Speaker 1: her neighbor.
- 24:51Speaker 1: My colleague went to the toilet to puke after lunch
- 24:55Speaker 1: and demanded for a seat exchange. If not, she will quit.
- 24:59Speaker 1: Oh my gosh. Wow. Did, did, did the manager or
- 25:03Speaker 1: something sort of tell the person why? It gets better
- 25:06Speaker 1: to text. During COVID period, we had to go back
- 25:08Speaker 1: to the office and there was this safe distancing to
- 25:11Speaker 1: stay 1 m away from each other. We took a
- 25:13Speaker 1: chance and it was very, it was a very happy
- 25:15Speaker 1: period of time because we all invested on a measuring
- 25:18Speaker 1: tape and whenever she came.
- 25:19Speaker 1: Came close to check on something with us. We'll use
- 25:21Speaker 1: the measuring to to show her please 1 m while
- 25:23Speaker 1: standing away from us. But the manager, no one told
- 25:26Speaker 1: this girl. Like what if she doesn't know because you're immune.
- 25:30Speaker 1: I think as a manager, I have to really use
- 25:33Speaker 1: my words carefully. This is where chat GPT will come
- 25:35Speaker 1: in handy. I have to use my words very carefully.
- 25:37Speaker 1: If not, OK, the girl might go and say, Hey, HR,
- 25:40Speaker 1: you know, my manager called me smelly, that kind of thing.
- 25:43Speaker 1: I'm gonna type in chat. How do I tell?
- 25:47Speaker 1: A a girl that she smells bad. OK, OK, I'm gonna,
- 25:52Speaker 1: I'm doing a favor for everyone, OK with prompt it
- 25:58Speaker 1: properly with HR, OK. Specifically a girl, is it because
- 26:03Speaker 1: you're scared you hurt her feelings. OK. OK, loading.
- 26:07Speaker 1: Short answer. You usually shouldn't say it directly unless it's
- 26:11Speaker 1: your job to, for example, you're the manager or HR.
- 26:15Speaker 1: This is one of those situations where being honest can
- 26:17Speaker 1: easily backfire and become a workplace complaint. Oh my God,
- 26:21Speaker 1: GPT give us an answer. Yeah, OK, I know. So
- 26:23Speaker 1: here's how to handle it without creating problems. If you
- 26:26Speaker 1: are in a position where you
- 26:28Speaker 1: You must address it. Please keep it private. Never do
- 26:30Speaker 1: it in front of others. Keep it neutral and factual.
- 26:34Speaker 1: Focus on your workplace impact, not your personal judgment. You
- 26:38Speaker 1: can say something like, hey, I wanted to mention something
- 26:41Speaker 1: a bit awkward, but I want someone to tell me
- 26:44Speaker 1: as well. I've noticed a strong smell at times and
- 26:46Speaker 1: I just wanted to flag it in case you were
- 26:48Speaker 1: not aware.
- 26:49Speaker 1: OK, that's, that's decent. And wait, hold on smell. Yeah,
- 26:54Speaker 1: I mean that's just an example, and then it goes,
- 26:56Speaker 1: then stop talking.
- 26:58Speaker 1: Then stop talking. Don't overexplain. Don't joke. Don't pile on.
- 27:01Speaker 1: Don't hint, joke or gossip. That's worse than being direct.
- 27:04Speaker 1: See that runs the risk. I noticed a strong smell
- 27:08Speaker 1: and can you imagine I respond to you saying, yeah,
- 27:10Speaker 1: I noticed this too. I noticed it too. Yes, there
- 27:13Speaker 1: you go.
- 27:16Speaker 1: Are you saying it's coming from me? Yes, then just
- 27:18Speaker 1: say yes at this point. Yes, I think it's you. Yeah,
- 27:21Speaker 1: I don't know how else do you say this? How else?
- 27:25Speaker 1: Sonia smell. OK, the moment this person walks into HR,
- 27:29Speaker 1: HR is gonna smell it too. So then how? Then how, right?
- 27:33Speaker 1: Dude, this is like, honestly, I think it's a good idea.
- 27:36Speaker 1: Thank you, Chad GBT more useful than Joakim's suggestion.
- 27:39Speaker 1: Aaron is on the line right now. What about you, Aaron? I,
- 27:42Speaker 2: I thought of calling because I wanted to share a
- 27:44Speaker 2: personal experience. So because I, um, I work in the
- 27:47Speaker 2: office and I also like teach at the gym as well. So, um,
- 27:50Speaker 2: I do sweat quite a bit. Like I do notice
- 27:53Speaker 2: that sometimes the clothes do smell really bad. Um, what
- 27:55Speaker 2: I did was I, I checked with like, you know,
- 27:57Speaker 2: another friend, like, you know, how do I fix this
- 27:59Speaker 2: problem because it's actually quite embarrassing. Essentially, she, she taught
- 28:03Speaker 2: me how to do my laundry properly.
- 28:05Speaker 1: Oh, wait, what were you doing wrong?
- 28:07Speaker 2: It's a
- 28:08Speaker 2: combination, like, you know, maybe normal detergent sometimes doesn't get
- 28:12Speaker 2: into the clothes as effectively as it should just because
- 28:15Speaker 2: like there's so much germs stuck onto the clothes. It
- 28:18Speaker 2: doesn't dry properly, especially in our weather. Sometimes it gets
- 28:21Speaker 2: a bit too humid. She asked, she gave me this
- 28:23Speaker 2: really simple tip which really helped a lot. So, um,
- 28:26Speaker 2: like do a, do a pre-soak in decor and basically
- 28:30Speaker 2: that solved quite a bit of a problem.
- 28:32Speaker 1: You know, I realized, especially for HDB.
- 28:36Speaker 1: There's the new indoor drying system where if you hang it,
- 28:38Speaker 1: there's a fan on top of it that will hopefully
- 28:41Speaker 1: blow dry your clothes ASAP. Yeah. You see, just based
- 28:44Speaker 1: off his story alone, just ask a girl, OK? Um,
- 28:47Speaker 1: touchy topic here today, but inspired by a viral video
- 28:50Speaker 1: where a guy actually called out people for not having
- 28:53Speaker 1: the best personal hygiene, smelling quite bad over at this
- 28:56Speaker 1: particular convention, which sparked off a debate. A lot of
- 28:59Speaker 1: people stand by him and say like, hey, you know what,
- 29:02Speaker 1: you gotta say.
- 29:03Speaker 1: As it is because it could be facts, right? I
- 29:05Speaker 1: think it's how we say it as well that matters.
- 29:08Speaker 1: So I want to read out Curly's text on WhatsApp,
- 29:11Speaker 1: but I have to water down a few things. OK.
- 29:13Speaker 1: It was too much detail. Oh, hey, Sonia and Joakim,
- 29:17Speaker 1: I'm the operations manager, and we use part-timers regularly for
- 29:21Speaker 1: the weekends. We had a student who often works with
- 29:24Speaker 1: us every Sunday. After a month in, most of my
- 29:27Speaker 1: full-timers have told me about her body odor, which is
- 29:30Speaker 1: very
- 29:31Speaker 1: Very pungent. To me, I have a very sensitive nose.
- 29:35Speaker 1: She smelled so bad you could actually send, you can
- 29:37Speaker 1: actually smell her coming from 2 m away. It is
- 29:40Speaker 1: not a whiff. It's like a very long lingering dark
- 29:43Speaker 1: scent to the point that customers squirm when she presents
- 29:46Speaker 1: the cafe food and drinks to them, to the point
- 29:48Speaker 1: that our owner's wife had to come to me and
- 29:50Speaker 1: instructed me to do something about it. Yeah. So one
- 29:54Speaker 1: day I awarded her with her own uniform because of
- 29:57Speaker 1: her regularity, as well as
- 29:59Speaker 1: I got her a little floral EDP spray. I was
- 30:02Speaker 1: so bubbly and told that you will smell great. It's
- 30:04Speaker 1: a perfume that I always wanted to try. Maybe you
- 30:07Speaker 1: can give it a shot and see if it can
- 30:08Speaker 1: change right now, like right now. She did it. She
- 30:11Speaker 1: looked happy, but I don't think she got the hint
- 30:14Speaker 1: because the next day she was back to the same
- 30:16Speaker 1: original BO with the new shirt. So as the manager,
- 30:19Speaker 1: I really had to do something, and the only way
- 30:21Speaker 1: was to tell it to tell her the truth. So
- 30:24Speaker 1: I found a private moment where I can speak to
- 30:26Speaker 1: her and I told her, maybe.
- 30:27Speaker 1: You don't know. It is not your fault to stop,
- 30:29Speaker 1: but you do have an obvious body odor, and that
- 30:33Speaker 1: is something you can look into for your next shift.
- 30:35Speaker 1: She did not take it too well, and she never
- 30:37Speaker 1: sent me her slots anymore. Oh no. To me, that's
- 30:42Speaker 1: one less problem to worry about, to be honest. The
- 30:45Speaker 1: team kept the team kept on talking about this full
- 30:48Speaker 1: scenario up till today. Wow, OK, that was a tough one.
- 30:52Speaker 1: I mean, see, here's the problem, right? Um.
- 30:55Speaker 1: You need like proper deodorant for this. For some people
- 30:59Speaker 1: it could be like a medical condition, a medical thing,
- 31:02Speaker 1: and if their own family is immune to it, then
- 31:04Speaker 1: they're not gonna know. Like no one's gonna know or
- 31:06Speaker 1: tell them. I'm gonna give a very unpopular opinion in
- 31:10Speaker 1: the F&B sector. If you're gonna serve food, if you're
- 31:13Speaker 1: handling food, don't smoke during your shift. Oh yeah, I
- 31:17Speaker 1: think we both know, we both experienced this recently because
- 31:20Speaker 1: the cigarette smell linger.
- 31:22Speaker 1: on your fingers and hands, right? The moment you serve
- 31:24Speaker 1: the food, we can smell it, it might spoil the appetite. Actually,
- 31:27Speaker 1: I mean, I do know some people who, um, you know,
- 31:30Speaker 1: have the habit of smoking, but they have good personal hygiene.
- 31:34Speaker 1: So they actually will wash their hands regularly, breath spray, perfume, everything,
- 31:38Speaker 1: and I can't even tell. Yeah, just make sure the
- 31:40Speaker 1: hand wash is strong enough to get the smell. Thank
- 31:42Speaker 1: you so much for all your messages and your calls.
- 31:44Speaker 1: I mean, look, we've got stories from both sides of
- 31:47Speaker 1: the coin.
- 31:48Speaker 1: When we come back, one person is walking away with
- 31:50Speaker 1: those movie tickets. Sonia and Joakim with you. Thanks so
- 31:53Speaker 1: much for joining us here today. OK, one person is
- 31:55Speaker 1: walking away with a pair of tickets to be the
- 31:58Speaker 1: first in Singapore to catch Michael. Yeah, OK. Only because
- 32:01Speaker 1: she really shared it with such great detail, and I
- 32:05Speaker 1: really understand her position and pain and frustrations as well
- 32:08Speaker 1: on how to handle the situation. Curly, congratulations.
- 32:12Speaker 1: The Michael tickets coming your way from 987 movie night.
- 32:16Speaker 1: It's currently like her real name or her nickname. It's
- 32:18Speaker 1: a username nickname, but I'm trying to avoid saying her
- 32:21Speaker 1: real name in case people say, hey, I know this person,
- 32:24Speaker 1: you know what I mean. true, true. Well, hope you
- 32:26Speaker 1: enjoy yourself. Joakim and I will be there as well,
- 32:28Speaker 1: hosting you, welcoming you, and to be the first in
- 32:31Speaker 1: SG to catch Michael, the life of Michael Jackson. So
- 32:34Speaker 1: if you're coming in for 987 movie night, please wear
- 32:36Speaker 1: a dry shirt. OK, stop it.
- 32:38Speaker 1: OK, so, uh, slightly earlier this year, I kind of
- 32:41Speaker 1: remember a conversation that we had where you said this
- 32:44Speaker 1: may be the year that you are considering getting a car.
- 32:48Speaker 1: You mentioned this to me. Do you remember? You said
- 32:52Speaker 1: you're considering. That was January. It's April now. What happened?
- 32:57Speaker 1: I'm leaning towards a no. It's OK. No, um, OK,
- 33:00Speaker 1: so I was watching your episode of Booty Call with
- 33:02Speaker 1: the Muttons, and I'm very happy you said this. I'm
- 33:04Speaker 1: actually saving for a house. Yes, which I know because
- 33:06Speaker 1: you shared that with me. I've been saving for a
- 33:08Speaker 1: house for the last 10 years.
- 33:10Speaker 1: OK, look, join the rest of the crew here in Singapore, OK? That's,
- 33:14Speaker 1: that's our life, right? But I just wanted to give
- 33:16Speaker 1: my friends over at MG a big shout out. As
- 33:18Speaker 1: you know, I work very closely with them. Um, I,
- 33:20Speaker 1: I'm not, I'm not doing this just because like I'm
- 33:23Speaker 1: their ambassador or whatever, but I genuinely think it's a
- 33:25Speaker 1: really good deal. Um, great price over at Vivo City
- 33:29Speaker 1: that you can get. You will find out all everything
- 33:31Speaker 1: about the brand new MG.
- 33:33Speaker 1: Or, it is a hatchback, very easy to use. Joakim,
- 33:36Speaker 1: I think this is perfect for you as a, this
- 33:39Speaker 1: will be your first car if you do get one,
- 33:41Speaker 1: and I think it's the perfect starting car, starting vehicle.
- 33:45Speaker 1: It's also an EV naturally if MG offers me the
- 33:46Speaker 1: ambassador role alongside you, I will take I'll drive anything
- 33:52Speaker 1: they sell it to me. I can turn off your
- 33:53Speaker 1: mic right now, you know. I think that one you
- 33:56Speaker 1: better not, better not.
- 33:58Speaker 1: But um today, if you come on down to the launch,
- 34:02Speaker 1: you'll be the first ones to, to see it. 7
- 34:05Speaker 1: different colors and they have this beautiful sage green color
- 34:08Speaker 1: that's the signature for this MG4 series. And um if
- 34:11Speaker 1: you come on down later, we actually have goodie bags
- 34:13Speaker 1: for you too. So please come. Does it, does it
- 34:15Speaker 1: come in red? I think it does actually. I'm not
- 34:18Speaker 1: sure I've got to check, but yeah, 7 colors, um,
- 34:20Speaker 1: sage green, very beautiful. Definitely check it out. The official
- 34:24Speaker 1: unveiling will be.
- 34:25Speaker 1: This evening at 7 p.m. it's open to public, so
- 34:29Speaker 1: come on down. You might just see some of your
- 34:31Speaker 1: favorite car content creators and people who are around as well.
- 34:35Speaker 1: Come in, say hi to me, grab a goodie bag.
- 34:37Speaker 1: We are preparing some already. Asking for a friend. Will
- 34:40Speaker 1: you be driving the MG4 for a while? I mean,
- 34:42Speaker 1: I'm on the S5 right now, but I may do
- 34:44Speaker 1: a test drive on the MG4. It's smaller than my
- 34:47Speaker 1: current car. OK, I called dibs on being the third
- 34:49Speaker 1: man to sit in the front seat, the first two
- 34:52Speaker 1: being my dad and Jeremy.
- 34:54Speaker 1: I'll be the 3rd 1. It's OK. You know, the
- 34:55Speaker 1: funny thing is I realized that now Jeremy, you and
- 34:58Speaker 1: Jerem have become like my passenger princesses, OK, like I
- 35:02Speaker 1: mentioned in the Muttons, uh, episode as well. So yeah, um,
- 35:06Speaker 1: I'm no longer the passenger princess. So when was the
- 35:08Speaker 1: last time that happened? I don't remember. I mean when
- 35:10Speaker 1: Jeremy drives you la. Yeah, but you know, it's rare,
- 35:13Speaker 1: is it?
- 35:16Speaker 1: It's like when you have your own vehicle, you end
- 35:17Speaker 1: up just like, OK, meet here lah, meet here at
- 35:19Speaker 1: this time, OK, I'll meet you here. And again I
- 35:21Speaker 1: realized I've been your passenger princess for the last
- 35:25Speaker 1: 1010 years of my life. You're right. I've had my
- 35:29Speaker 1: license driving the Honda vessel. I've had my license for
- 35:31Speaker 1: 10 years exactly. Yeah. See, who is your loyal day
- 35:36Speaker 1: one fan of your driving? Who has been giving you
- 35:39Speaker 1: free rides since 2016? I don't charge you a single time, OK.
- 35:43Speaker 1: Um, this evening, I believe, I was just told like
- 35:47Speaker 1: very late last night that episode one of a very
- 35:51Speaker 1: short mini wedding series that we've worked on is rolling
- 35:54Speaker 1: out this evening. Oh, as in you and Jeremy, Jeremy
- 35:58Speaker 1: and I, and well, not every episode features him, I,
- 36:01Speaker 1: I would say.
- 36:02Speaker 1: Um, but Joe has yet to make an appearance. You
- 36:05Speaker 1: will soon. You were supposed to come for the lunch tasting,
- 36:08Speaker 1: but you didn't come. It was so fun. You should
- 36:11Speaker 1: have been there. Will, will, will they be filming an
- 36:14Speaker 1: episode at your wedding itself? They will be, that's my appearance, right? No, no, no, no, no.
- 36:18Speaker 1: I think that leading up to that, they actually want
- 36:20Speaker 1: to pull some of my friends aside to have one
- 36:23Speaker 1: on one.
- 36:24Speaker 1: On chats with them and I think you might be
- 36:26Speaker 1: one of them, like a confessional, yeah, like a confessional
- 36:29Speaker 1: reality series. I have to be there. Let me give
- 36:31Speaker 1: you a spoiler. You will let me throw you back
- 36:33Speaker 1: to 8 years ago when Sonia Chow very excitedly tells
- 36:37Speaker 1: me after she's back from the cruise, Hey, Joe, Joe, Joe, Joe,
- 36:39Speaker 1: what about I got tea, I got tea, I got tea.
- 36:41Speaker 1: I don't sound like that. Then one song played. I'm like, OK,
- 36:43Speaker 1: can you please tell me now? I met a guy
- 36:44Speaker 1: on a cruise.
- 36:47Speaker 1: And she, and when she told me his name, I
- 36:48Speaker 1: was like, huh?
- 36:51Speaker 1: OK, I went hard because the name was quite similar
- 36:54Speaker 1: to one of her ex's names. Bro, just say it
- 36:56Speaker 1: as it is. It's the same name. OK, it's OK.
- 36:58Speaker 1: It's fine. Just say it. And I was like, you
- 37:00Speaker 1: have a thing for Jeremy.
- 37:03Speaker 1: That was my first reaction. It was funny. And then
- 37:05Speaker 1: she got so excited she was being all a little
- 37:07Speaker 1: squeamish and I was not. I have never squealed in
- 37:10Speaker 1: my life over a guy. Yes, for Jeremy Song, you did.
- 37:14Speaker 1: I didn't. I refuse to acknowledge that I did not.
- 37:18Speaker 1: Joe is dramatizing it. No, no. And then, yes, so
- 37:21Speaker 1: that's a spoiler. She was so excited about it. 8
- 37:23Speaker 1: years later, ayo, in almost like a month's time, I know.
- 37:27Speaker 1: I know. So, um, the video, the first app drops today.
- 37:31Speaker 1: It's gonna be a bit more.
- 37:32Speaker 1: Of a personal sharing one first to just set the tone,
- 37:35Speaker 1: you know, and uh germs actually spilled some stuff that
- 37:38Speaker 1: I didn't know as well. So please catch it, show
- 37:41Speaker 1: some love, support, and I think more importantly, if you
- 37:45Speaker 1: are planning to settle down or get married or you're
- 37:46Speaker 1: planning a wedding, I think that the, the concept of
- 37:49Speaker 1: planning a wedding has changed so much over the years,
- 37:52Speaker 1: and I am admitting this myself. I am not a
- 37:56Speaker 1: very bridal person at all. In fact, if I could
- 37:59Speaker 1: just throw a party and get it over with, I would.
- 38:01Speaker 1: If I could spend.
- 38:02Speaker 1: as little money as possible on the wedding, I would,
- 38:04Speaker 1: and I'm keeping it super small, like, especially the dinner.
- 38:07Speaker 1: I mean, throwing a party and getting it over and
- 38:09Speaker 1: done with, that's what a wedding is, lah. Just 11
- 38:11Speaker 1: and done, you know, finished. You know, some people have
- 38:13Speaker 1: like a whole weekend's worth of activities. I really cannot.
- 38:16Speaker 1: I can't do it. They have the budget. We don't.
- 38:18Speaker 1: That's true. Yes, they have father and mother's money. I'm
- 38:21Speaker 1: trying to keep the budget as low as possible. Please
- 38:24Speaker 1: do and save it for the honeymoon or something. Yeah. So, um,
- 38:27Speaker 1: please support and catch the episode dropping this evening.
