- 0:01Speaker 1: Charge about.
- 0:04Speaker 2: Aerocrats. Connor Griffin to the show, he learned everything in
- 0:08Speaker 2: one week in Triple A. This is awesome. First of
- 0:10Speaker 2: all for Tigers fans. He's nineteen years old. He's going
- 0:13Speaker 2: to make his debut in the home opener. How convenient
- 0:15Speaker 2: against the Orioles. And according to Jason Mackie, who covers
- 0:19Speaker 2: the team, he said the move was made for baseball
- 0:21Speaker 2: reasons and because he's their best option. Joe Sherman tweeted
- 0:24Speaker 2: about this and essentially said the same thing, where they
- 0:27Speaker 2: wanted to see if he would win the job in spring,
- 0:29Speaker 2: then he faded a little bit late. So Ken also
- 0:32Speaker 2: commented on how he heard from team reps. I'm paraphrasing,
- 0:36Speaker 2: but that you know, they wanted him to get a
- 0:38Speaker 2: little confidence boost and he did hit the crap out
- 0:40Speaker 2: of the ball in Triple A for a week. Here
- 0:43Speaker 2: he comes. So let's cover the good stuff first. How
- 0:46Speaker 2: much does this impact the Pirates? They were not getting
- 0:48Speaker 2: much shortstop production from primarily gied Triolo, and their position
- 0:53Speaker 2: as a whole right now again in a week was
- 0:55Speaker 2: like two hundred. I know we're going to play the
- 0:56Speaker 2: small sample size game, but shouldn't this kid just be
- 0:59Speaker 2: here from the jump, helping this team try to make
- 1:01Speaker 2: the playoffs for the first time in a decade.
- 1:03Speaker 1: I think it matters what your nine best players look like.
- 1:07Speaker 1: I think Jared Triolo at third base is gold. I
- 1:11Speaker 1: think him its third and second base. He has a
- 1:14Speaker 1: utility gold glove for that. So to me, throwing him
- 1:17Speaker 1: at shortstop might be undervaluing what you're getting out of shortstop.
- 1:23Speaker 1: Connor Griffin. He could come up to the big leagues
- 1:25Speaker 1: and struggle. We're not even talking about his hitting. We're
- 1:27Speaker 1: talking about what he adds to this team, what he
- 1:30Speaker 1: adds to the future of this team. Maybe his first
- 1:34Speaker 1: fifty at bats don't go well, but now the rest
- 1:38Speaker 1: of the team is starting to get the rhythm of
- 1:39Speaker 1: what it's like to have him in the lineup, the
- 1:43Speaker 1: fanfare out there around him. To me, I don't think
- 1:45Speaker 1: it's going to be a struggle. I think he's going
- 1:47Speaker 1: to acclimate very well to the big leagues. And I
- 1:50Speaker 1: think this was a decision that they made his five games.
- 1:55Speaker 1: His five games in TRIPLEA did not make them say cow,
- 2:00Speaker 1: he really did this, Like, hey, he killed it down there,
- 2:04Speaker 1: But what happens if he had hit one hundred? But
- 2:06Speaker 1: they had said, you know, he's not ready yet. No,
- 2:08Speaker 1: it's a first day, it's the first home it's a
- 2:11Speaker 1: home opener. They're ready to sell some tickets and get
- 2:14Speaker 1: some fans excited in the seats.
- 2:18Speaker 2: I think there was consensus on this show that we
- 2:20Speaker 2: wanted him up in the show AJ at the start
- 2:23Speaker 2: of the season, and I feel like there was a
- 2:25Speaker 2: lot of pushback from people like, no, no, no, he's
- 2:27Speaker 2: not ready. Are those same people saying that right now?
- 2:31Speaker 3: Or what changed in a week? What changed in a week?
- 2:34Speaker 3: One week?
- 2:34Speaker 2: We always talk about small sample size in our sport.
- 2:37Speaker 2: One week, what is it five games in Triple A
- 2:40Speaker 2: made the difference? Or should he have been with the
- 2:42Speaker 2: team from the jump? Does this team miss the playoffs
- 2:45Speaker 2: by a game or two? And go, oh, I wonder
- 2:47Speaker 2: if we had Connor Griffin in a couple of damns
- 2:51Speaker 2: in the first week. Maybe I'm overplaying it, But my
- 2:53Speaker 2: point AJ is, here's what's here's what's really gonna happen. AJ.
- 2:57Speaker 2: Friday home opener gonna be awesome. And and then on
- 3:01Speaker 2: Friday night or Saturday, they will announce the extension. You
- 3:04Speaker 2: can't announce it and have it official before that. Since
- 3:07Speaker 2: there's a PPI. That's the extra pick you get if
- 3:10Speaker 2: the player wins rookie the year, or if the player
- 3:12Speaker 2: wins MVP within the first three years or what is
- 3:15Speaker 2: it top three MVP? Yes, three or top three yeah,
- 3:19Speaker 2: so three years that would enable him to give the
- 3:22Speaker 2: Pirates an extra pick. They messed that up with Paul Skens.
- 3:25Speaker 2: They called him up too late. So to me, this
- 3:29Speaker 2: is awesome. Should have happened a week ago. The timing
- 3:32Speaker 2: is all very convenient for keeping a player down until
- 3:34Speaker 2: he agrees to a contract extension.
- 3:37Speaker 3: I'm not going to say I disagree with you, Scott,
- 3:40Speaker 3: but I will say this. They will not announce it
- 3:42Speaker 3: a day or two after. They'll give it a little
- 3:44Speaker 3: more time. They'll give it four or five days because
- 3:46Speaker 3: they don't want to make it that obvious that he's
- 3:49Speaker 3: getting called up because they're close to an extension, or
- 3:51Speaker 3: he's going to agree to EXTENSI because if they do
- 3:53Speaker 3: it the day over the next day, people say, hm,
- 3:55Speaker 3: that's strange. If only shows like foul Territory said he
- 3:59Speaker 3: would assign the extension spring training, he'd already be up.
- 4:02Speaker 3: So I think that he's up and they can say
- 4:04Speaker 3: it is for baseball reasons. Listen, Triolo struggled. We said
- 4:08Speaker 3: he was going to struggle a shortstop. We all know
- 4:09Speaker 3: he can't play short stop every day. The Pirates have
- 4:12Speaker 3: figured that out so now, but they knew that in
- 4:13Speaker 3: spring training. This was just to put Listen. I hate
- 4:16Speaker 3: to say this because it just it stinks that we
- 4:19Speaker 3: even have to talk about this, But they did this
- 4:21Speaker 3: to make Connor Griffin see, hey, if you signed this extension,
- 4:24Speaker 3: you could be in the big leagues. And boom here
- 4:25Speaker 3: he isn't on the home opener. You think he's not
- 4:27Speaker 3: going to sell a few more tickets on the home opener.
- 4:29Speaker 3: I don't know if they were sold out already, but
- 4:31Speaker 3: they're gonna be now, right, They're gonna be now. And
- 4:34Speaker 3: if you would have if you would have came up
- 4:35Speaker 3: the first day of the season.
- 4:37Speaker 1: No, they wouldn't have sold out.
- 4:38Speaker 3: Yes, they still would have sold out on their home opener.
- 4:40Speaker 3: So I don't know. I just hate that we have
- 4:42Speaker 3: to have these conversations. Why can't the team just call
- 4:45Speaker 3: up their best players. And if their best player to
- 4:47Speaker 3: play shortstop is Connor Griffin, he's gonna struggle, guys. He's
- 4:50Speaker 3: nineteen years old. He's nineteen years old. Everyone has had struggles,
- 4:55Speaker 3: right want Soto when he came up, he had some struggles.
- 4:57Speaker 3: Bryce Harper had some struggles, Mac Trout. They had some struggles.
- 5:00Speaker 3: But you learn at the big league level and then
- 5:01Speaker 3: you're better off in the long run for it. So
- 5:03Speaker 3: I thought he should have been here from opening day.
- 5:05Speaker 3: I'm glad they're finally making this decision after five whole games. Man,
- 5:08Speaker 3: he went down to Triple A and did well, So man,
- 5:11Speaker 3: now he's up, Like, come on, are you kidding? Those
- 5:13Speaker 3: five games didn't mean anything other than I don't even
- 5:16Speaker 3: know why they did that. They should have just had
- 5:18Speaker 3: him in the big leagues for opening day. They didn't,
- 5:19Speaker 3: And but now here he is, and hopefully he has
- 5:21Speaker 3: a great career.
- 5:23Speaker 1: I'm gonna say, and this is this is tough for
- 5:25Speaker 1: me because ever since this news came out, AJ was
- 5:28Speaker 1: the first one to text us about it, and so
- 5:31Speaker 1: I started thinking, I'm like, what if I ran the pirates?
- 5:36Speaker 1: What is the what is the issue of not doing
- 5:40Speaker 1: it this way? Like if I call him up, if
- 5:42Speaker 1: I call him up one opening day, because they clearly
- 5:44Speaker 1: think he's ready. He didn't change anything in Triple A
- 5:47Speaker 1: to say, wow, he really changed our mind in those
- 5:49Speaker 1: five games, so they knew he was ready. But everybody
- 5:53Speaker 1: would do this once a week on the show. AJ's
- 5:57Speaker 1: pining for somebody to pay for his meal. Oh and
- 5:59Speaker 1: I see you're gonna pay for my meal. The pirates
- 6:02Speaker 1: are looking to get the most, extract the most value
- 6:04Speaker 1: out of this player, and to me calling him up
- 6:09Speaker 1: on opening day, having him sign an extension that is,
- 6:14Speaker 1: you know, the value that he wanted on before opening day,
- 6:18Speaker 1: and then not getting a PPI pick, not getting you know,
- 6:21Speaker 1: he opens on the road. All the things that the
- 6:23Speaker 1: pirates are doing to me. The pirates show me by
- 6:27Speaker 1: doing this that they're like, eh, it's okay if we
- 6:31Speaker 1: miss the playoffs by one game, but financially they're like, yeah,
- 6:35Speaker 1: we're just we're just trying to extract the most value
- 6:38Speaker 1: out of this, out of this situation as possible.

- 7:44Speaker 2: can also show the Jimboden tweet and we went over
- 7:47Speaker 2: this yesterday when Buster only put out a tweet about
- 7:51Speaker 2: the two sides getting close. And I do believe that
- 7:54Speaker 2: the sides basically already have it done and that you
- 7:57Speaker 2: at this point have to wait. But Boden said, the
- 8:02Speaker 2: Connor Griffin earra begins tomorrow in the Burg front office
- 8:05Speaker 2: is quietly confident they'll be able to announce the long
- 8:08Speaker 2: term deal prior to the game expectations is it will
- 8:11Speaker 2: be an eight year deal in the range of Roman
- 8:13Speaker 2: Anthony and cold Emerson deals. I will say Roman Anthony
- 8:16Speaker 2: and cold Emerson deals or what thirty five ish million apart.
- 8:21Speaker 2: So for his sake, I'm hoping it's closer to the
- 8:24Speaker 2: Roman Anthony deal. It should be.
- 8:26Speaker 1: In my mind for sure, I want to know what
- 8:30Speaker 1: it was in spring training to what it is now.
- 8:33Speaker 1: Every part of negotiation, everybody has leverage, and people are
- 8:37Speaker 1: trying to use their leverage. And I think the Pirates
- 8:41Speaker 1: use their leverage to say you could get called, you
- 8:45Speaker 1: could make the opening day roster, and but you have
- 8:48Speaker 1: to take X amount of dollars. He says no. Maybe
- 8:51Speaker 1: maybe his agent found out that the cold Emerson thing
- 8:55Speaker 1: was possibly happening, and there's you know, there's conversations. It's
- 8:58Speaker 1: not like all of a sudden, Oh, cold Emerson's getting
- 9:01Speaker 1: ninety million and the Pirates only offered me one hundred
- 9:04Speaker 1: and one million. I don't know that number for sure,
- 9:06Speaker 1: but I'm just saying, like, I'm better than him. Industry
- 9:10Speaker 1: knows I'm better than him, so we're gonna go and
- 9:14Speaker 1: say no, no, Like there's everybody knows what the value
- 9:18Speaker 1: of the player is. The team tries to keep it
- 9:20Speaker 1: as low as possible, and the player tries to get
- 9:22Speaker 1: it as high as possible.
- 9:24Speaker 2: And when you sign a contract of any kind, you're
- 9:28Speaker 2: signing it based on future projection. Sure the past plays
- 9:32Speaker 2: into that, but the future projection for Connor Griffin, when
- 9:35Speaker 2: you're looking at how the industry weighs a player like
- 9:38Speaker 2: this is the highest in baseball for a prospect, for
- 9:41Speaker 2: a prospect in the sport is the highest projection. If
- 9:45Speaker 2: that's how we're basing things in the sport, then he
- 9:47Speaker 2: should be the highest paid pre debut player and he
- 9:51Speaker 2: should probably get a comp that's really similar to any
- 9:54Speaker 2: player that's what below one season, one year of service time.
- 10:01Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean it depends on how far like because
- 10:03Speaker 1: those guys actually have some big league numbers to say,
- 10:07Speaker 1: you know.
- 10:07Speaker 2: Sixty something games, it's less than sixty something games.
- 10:11Speaker 1: No, you can't tell unless the dude's making an All
- 10:13Speaker 1: Star team. But you have you know, you're talking about
- 10:16Speaker 1: eighty two, eighty ninety games of somebody making an All
- 10:20Speaker 1: Star team in their rookie year. That would be the
- 10:21Speaker 1: only way I wouldn't compare it to that. But yeah,
- 10:24Speaker 1: one hundred percent.
- 10:26Speaker 2: Yeah, so on the positive side. AJ, Wait, you're muted.
- 10:32Speaker 1: You're still muted. Hold on, but no, I'm.
- 10:36Speaker 3: Not muting now perfect okay, but by the way, let
- 10:40Speaker 3: me just say this. You know who's winning out of this,
- 10:41Speaker 3: the Pirate fans because they're going to get to see
- 10:43Speaker 3: this kid for a long time. Let's I'm happy for them.
- 10:46Speaker 3: They got a win. Pirate fans are getting a win
- 10:49Speaker 3: right here, So be excited. And I'm happy for you guys.
- 10:51Speaker 3: And you know what holds. I'm happy for Bob Nutting
- 10:54Speaker 3: if this comes true and he signs this deal. Good
- 10:56Speaker 3: for you, Bob Nutting and the Pirates organization. We're getting
- 10:59Speaker 3: this done. And give Pirates fans hope and get in now.
- 11:02Speaker 3: You know, are they going to be able to keep schemes?
- 11:04Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 11:04Speaker 3: But next should be Bubba Chandler. If you think Bubba
- 11:06Speaker 3: Chandler is going to be great, then you should make Bubba.
- 11:08Speaker 3: You should lock Bubba Chandler up next because you have Keller,
- 11:11Speaker 3: you have Reynolds, you have some of these other guys, Like,
- 11:13Speaker 3: let's lock some of these guys up if you think
- 11:15Speaker 3: they are a core to winning for this organization. Because
- 11:17Speaker 3: the Pirates fans. They need some wins and this hopefully
- 11:20Speaker 3: is just the start of the wins for Pirate fans.
- 11:22Speaker 2: And it's a key to building a consistent core that
- 11:25Speaker 2: you can grow with. Right is lats of guys in earlier,
- 11:30Speaker 2: the better you take on risk that if the player
- 11:33Speaker 2: doesn't pan out, he did make a lot of money,
- 11:35Speaker 2: but more likely than not these turn into bargains for
- 11:38Speaker 2: the team based on market value of a player. I'm
- 11:41Speaker 2: with you, I want to make sure we have that
- 11:44Speaker 2: positive vibe for Pirates fans. They've gone through a lot
- 11:48Speaker 2: for the past decade, a lot, a lot of nothing
- 11:51Speaker 2: for the most part, so this is a really exciting time.
- 11:54Speaker 2: I also want to give a little bit of love
- 11:56Speaker 2: to Ben Charrington's group KRATS. Tanking is not what it
- 12:00Speaker 2: used to be. We had a time period where if
- 12:02Speaker 2: you're the worst team, you get the top pick. The
- 12:05Speaker 2: Pirates were a little bit of part of that, but
- 12:07Speaker 2: then through the last CBA it made it more difficult
- 12:10Speaker 2: with lotteries and a few tweaks to not make it
- 12:14Speaker 2: so obvious that you can tank and then get a
- 12:17Speaker 2: ton of great players from the top of the draft.
- 12:20Speaker 2: The Pirates have been bad for a while they've had
- 12:21Speaker 2: many opportunities lately, they've been seizing them. So Ben Charrington's group,
- 12:26Speaker 2: whoever he's got under him specifically, I don't have the
- 12:28Speaker 2: names in front of me, but they know who they
- 12:30Speaker 2: are drafting, developing. They've done a really nice job. We're
- 12:34Speaker 2: talking about a number of homegrown players schemes you might
- 12:38Speaker 2: want to put in a different category. He seemed obvious. Fine,
- 12:41Speaker 2: but Connor Griffin, Bubba Chandler, guys like that that we
- 12:45Speaker 2: are giving credit to have been. I would say, huge
- 12:49Speaker 2: success stories for this team, and that's how you need
- 12:51Speaker 2: to create a winner in Pittsburgh.
- 12:53Speaker 1: Yeah, you can't miss, you can't miss. You can't To me,
- 12:56Speaker 1: I think where the Pirates have to do well is
- 12:59Speaker 1: where they say, okay, we do a pre draft deal
- 13:03Speaker 1: wherever their first pick is, and it's maybe lower than
- 13:07Speaker 1: market value for that first pick, so that then they
- 13:09Speaker 1: can maybe possibly hit on giving a guy overslot in
- 13:14Speaker 1: the other rounds. And that's where the Pirates can find value. Obviously,
- 13:19Speaker 1: if people want to say, yeah, they created Paul Skins,
- 13:24Speaker 1: I don't know. I mean, I kind of I have
- 13:26Speaker 1: a tough time. I have a tough time getting on
- 13:28Speaker 1: board with that. But to me, I think it's where
- 13:31Speaker 1: they find that extra value. How do they handle how
- 13:35Speaker 1: do they handle Bubba Chandler when he first gets to
- 13:38Speaker 1: the big leagues? Okay, they put him in the bullpen. Okay,
- 13:40Speaker 1: that's kind of weird, like he's never thrown out of
- 13:44Speaker 1: the bullpen, but you do that. How do you handle
- 13:46Speaker 1: this Connor Griffin's situation. I think while we would have
- 13:50Speaker 1: liked to have seen him on Opening Day, you know what,
- 13:53Speaker 1: they were trying to get the most value out of
- 13:55Speaker 1: this situation, so they did what's best for the organization
- 13:58Speaker 1: moving forward, even if it means he misses the first
- 14:01Speaker 1: six games.
- 14:04Speaker 2: Hey, while we're on the Pirates, Paul Skeans bounced back
- 14:06Speaker 2: a little bit yesterday. I think he's going to be fine,
- 14:09Speaker 2: AJ and he kind of joked with a little smile
- 14:12Speaker 2: about how you know, he gave the team a little
- 14:14Speaker 2: bit more volume this time around than last time, which
- 14:17Speaker 2: I like, we get a little more personality out of
- 14:19Speaker 2: schemes as he gets more comfortable in the bigs.
- 14:25Speaker 3: I didn't mute myself. I didn't mute myself that time.
- 14:27Speaker 3: I just want to say that was not me, so
- 14:29Speaker 3: you can't yell maybe I'm.
- 14:30Speaker 2: Going to be like the around the horn guy where
- 14:32Speaker 2: I get to under the bus on AJ.
- 14:35Speaker 3: That wasn't me, that muted myself. I'm just saying he's up.
- 14:38Speaker 3: Grab Yeah, you have incoming, because I mean she was
- 14:41Speaker 3: yelling at me because you know, anyways, we don't have
- 14:43Speaker 3: time for that because my lock wasn't in and whatever. Anyways, Uh,
- 14:48Speaker 3: were we really worried about Paul Skeens. I wasn't. I
- 14:49Speaker 3: wasn't worried about him. I knew he'd bet he had one.
- 14:51Speaker 3: He had a bad rough outing where the center fielder
- 14:54Speaker 3: goaded a couple of balls and he would have been
- 14:56Speaker 3: out of that inning with only a run or two. Instead,
- 14:58Speaker 3: he gave him a five spot. The a ton of pitches.
- 15:00Speaker 3: Give Mets credit, they took some long at bats off
- 15:02Speaker 3: of them. Hall Skeins are gonna be fine. We ain't
- 15:04Speaker 3: worried about pall Skins.
- 15:07Speaker 1: Yeah, he's totally good. Seventy seven pitches, five innings. Though
- 15:11Speaker 1: he didn't look like he wanted to come out of
- 15:13Speaker 1: that game. He was kind of like huh, which I'm
- 15:16Speaker 1: kind of confused because his last outing he didn't have
- 15:18Speaker 1: the volume because you know, they had to pull him.
- 15:21Speaker 1: I think it was thirty six pitches in the first inning, Like,
- 15:23Speaker 1: you can't do that on your first outing. You got
- 15:26Speaker 1: to get him out of there. But then seventy seven
- 15:29Speaker 1: I thought they were going to send him back out
- 15:31Speaker 1: for the sixth at least, which for him, you know,
- 15:34Speaker 1: he can get up to eighty five eighty nine there
- 15:36Speaker 1: and then then his outing would be done. But hey,
- 15:39Speaker 1: you know what, it's a good bounce back for him.
- 15:42Speaker 2: You've seen many late comebacks already in the first week
- 15:45Speaker 2: of the season, big one in Philly with really back
- 15:48Speaker 2: to back games ending up nicely for them. You had
- 15:51Speaker 2: the Entrew Painter debut and then Kratz Justin Crawford in
- 15:54Speaker 2: his fifth career game, gets the walkoff knock for them.
- 15:57Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean this is this is huge for a
- 16:01Speaker 1: team that everyone's saying, well, they're running it back and
- 16:04Speaker 1: they're old, and Painter extends their rotation, Crawford extends their lineup,
- 16:12Speaker 1: and to be able to get a walk off in
- 16:13Speaker 1: your first home home stand, that's that's pretty legit knock
- 16:19Speaker 1: right through the hole.
- 16:21Speaker 2: They also so they were down five to one in
- 16:22Speaker 2: the seventh and then what was it, ninth inning, down
- 16:25Speaker 2: to their last strike and Mundo Sosa kept it alive.
- 16:28Speaker 1: Yeah, mund a little punch shot to left, scored two,
- 16:32Speaker 1: tied it up, held him in the tenth, and then
- 16:36Speaker 1: finished it off in the I think it was a
- 16:37Speaker 1: bottom of the tenth, maybe.
- 16:40Speaker 2: The eleven it was, Yes, it was ten, bottom of
- 16:43Speaker 2: the tenth. Yeah, one X training is all it took.
- 16:45Speaker 2: But yeah, Justin Crawford has pretty good bloodlines. AJ. We
- 16:50Speaker 2: spoke to him. We had him in person, and I
- 16:52Speaker 2: don't think you were on that one, but we had
- 16:54Speaker 2: him in person when he was with the Blue Claws
- 16:56Speaker 2: down in Jersey Shore. He's a legit kid. You can
- 17:00Speaker 2: tell that he knows what he's doing there in terms of,
- 17:04Speaker 2: you know, being around big leaguers in a clubhouse, the
- 17:06Speaker 2: whole deal, like mature hit.
- 17:08Speaker 3: Yes, they're counting on him to be a big part
- 17:11Speaker 3: of this season and this team so and for the
- 17:13Speaker 3: future of this organization. So good job Justin Crawford. By
- 17:17Speaker 3: the way, I just looked up the monster on the
- 17:19Speaker 3: Green Monster. It doesn't look that bad. I don't know
- 17:21Speaker 3: what there's It's not like this is the first advertisement
- 17:23Speaker 3: that's ever been on the Green Monster. So sorry to
- 17:25Speaker 3: change the subject, but didn't look that bad. It's a
- 17:28Speaker 3: Green Monster Energy Dream sign, you know, next to bet MGM,
- 17:33Speaker 3: who we love.
- 17:35Speaker 2: Yeah, it's probably not a big deal. And if I
- 17:37Speaker 2: mean I love when there are you know, marketing in
- 17:41Speaker 2: a little organic marketing inclusion efforts in baseball that line
- 17:45Speaker 2: up the name of something with the name of something else.
- 17:48Speaker 1: It's obvious.
- 17:50Speaker 3: Yeahous it almost made too much sense. So they were like, oh, wait,
- 17:53Speaker 3: this makes too much sense, Let's not do it.
- 17:55Speaker 1: That's easy cash. That's easy cash for Fenway Sports Group
- 17:58Speaker 1: to spend on lit So that'll be that'll be great.
- 18:03Speaker 3: The Penguins and.
- 18:04Speaker 1: Penguins and racing and racing.
- 18:08Speaker 3: Yes, although wins every race.
- 18:11Speaker 2: True, this is for the astro sweeping Crush City territory
- 18:15Speaker 2: because we're not going to talk about him today. But
- 18:17Speaker 2: they get the T shirt.
- 18:18Speaker 1: Yeah, that's what he said.
- 18:19Speaker 2: That's what he said.
- 18:21Speaker 1: That's what he said.
- 18:23Speaker 2: That's what he said, catch the effing ball. That's what
- 18:30Speaker 2: Matt Chapman said to Casey Schmidt in a tough game
- 18:35Speaker 2: for the Giants a j what did you think of
- 18:37Speaker 2: Chapman yelling at Schmidt when they met at the mound?
- 18:40Speaker 2: And a couple issues. So one was a bad throw
- 18:43Speaker 2: by Chapman could some grab it, sure, and then you
- 18:46Speaker 2: know one was a high throw. That was uh the
- 18:49Speaker 2: first the high throw was Chapman's fault, right ish, And
- 18:53Speaker 2: then no, you guys don't think it.
- 18:55Speaker 3: Was the other way.
- 18:58Speaker 1: Anytime it goes into the runner, that's that's yes, yeah,
- 19:02Speaker 1: that one.
- 19:03Speaker 3: The high throw is the one he said, catch the
- 19:04Speaker 3: effing ball right right. If you ain't never been on
- 19:09Speaker 3: a team, and you ain't never said something to someone
- 19:13Speaker 3: or had someone say something to you, then you are
- 19:16Speaker 3: doing things the right way. I'm sorry, because this happens
- 19:19Speaker 3: all the time. Listen, Baseball players and athletes in general
- 19:23Speaker 3: are the most competitive, by the way, just honest, I'm
- 19:28Speaker 3: gonna move that shower spray, by the way, I don't know,
- 19:32Speaker 3: I just saw that in the background. It was random.
- 19:34Speaker 3: But if you've never been on a team, and you've
- 19:38Speaker 3: never played in an ultra competitive situation and somebody hasn't
- 19:42Speaker 3: said something to somebody on the team that hey, you
- 19:45Speaker 3: need to figure this out or you need to figure
- 19:47Speaker 3: that out, then you guys ain't doing it right. I'm sorry,
- 19:49Speaker 3: And this is not a big deal. We're making this
- 19:51Speaker 3: into a big deal because you could read his lips
- 19:52Speaker 3: if Matt Chaman just would have gone catched the freaking
- 19:55Speaker 3: ball with his glove over his mouth, we never would
- 19:57Speaker 3: have known about this. So this is not a big
- 20:00Speaker 3: and then to have people you know, chiming in on Twitter. Oh,
- 20:04Speaker 3: Matt Schuman's a veteran god should dude. It happens all
- 20:08Speaker 3: the time. Please can we stop?
- 20:10Speaker 1: Stop?
- 20:10Speaker 3: This happens all the time, from high school to college,
- 20:14Speaker 3: to the minor leagues to the major leagues to whatever
- 20:16Speaker 3: job you work in. If you work at a job
- 20:18Speaker 3: and it's competitive and somebody hasn't said something like this
- 20:21Speaker 3: but a different way to somebody meaning hey, type in
- 20:24Speaker 3: the right thing or don't forget your TPS reports or
- 20:27Speaker 3: whatever it is, then you're not doing things right and
- 20:30Speaker 3: you're not really competitive at your job. I'm sorry, I
- 20:32Speaker 3: had no problem with this.
- 20:33Speaker 2: Wait, Kratz, I want to bring up what AJ is
- 20:36Speaker 2: referring to. Yes, I see what you're saying. Cover what
- 20:39Speaker 2: you're saying with your Mitt eighteen starts. By the way,
- 20:42Speaker 2: for Casey Schmid, he's not played a lot of first base.
- 20:44Speaker 2: Bryce Eldridge is in the miners, hopefully up soon for
- 20:47Speaker 2: the Giants, and Raffie Devers has been dealing with a
- 20:48Speaker 2: hamstring issue, so he's not playing first base. But to me,
- 20:53Speaker 2: it heats up when you do get called out by
- 20:56Speaker 2: somebody in the big leagues. Dad Daniels Schneeman, who's a
- 21:01Speaker 2: nice young player on Cleveland. His dad tweets a lot.
- 21:05Speaker 2: So we have the tweet of him talking about Matt
- 21:07Speaker 2: Chapman and what went down in the game. We can
- 21:10Speaker 2: show you that tweet here it is. He said, Casey
- 21:13Speaker 2: Schmidt is a young player trying to establish himself. Matt
- 21:16Speaker 2: Chapman is a veteran quote leader who acts like he's
- 21:19Speaker 2: never made a mistake on the baseball field before. I
- 21:22Speaker 2: remember Schnee making throws, throwing errors in back to back
- 21:26Speaker 2: games in twenty twenty four in both Jose and Jimenez
- 21:29Speaker 2: talking about Andres and Jose Ramirez patted him on the
- 21:33Speaker 2: butt and picked him up at their meeting on the mound.
- 21:35Speaker 2: We are so grateful our son plays for this organization
- 21:38Speaker 2: and with this team culture. That's Papa Schneet, Daniel Schneeman's dad.
- 21:44Speaker 2: Wowkrats The drama continues.
- 21:48Speaker 1: I think maybe a little bit of this would have
- 21:50Speaker 1: helped the glove over the face. Yes, but exactly what
- 21:54Speaker 1: aj said because here's the other way that this goes down.
- 21:58Speaker 1: I guess there's three ways. Chapman could be like whatever, whatever,
- 22:02Speaker 1: it's not a big deal, and that means he's not competitive,
- 22:06Speaker 1: or to me, the softest way that this goes down
- 22:10Speaker 1: is he doesn't say a word to Casey Schmidt. He
- 22:14Speaker 1: talks behind his back, and when that starts to happen,
- 22:18Speaker 1: that is way more toxic than somebody calling somebody out.
- 22:22Speaker 1: Should he have done it where we saw as what
- 22:24Speaker 1: he said, No, should he have been called out? Absolutely,
- 22:29Speaker 1: And what Papa Shni is saying is that, hey, you
- 22:33Speaker 1: pat him on the back. Chapman's not just because he
- 22:37Speaker 1: called him out and it was like catch the ball
- 22:41Speaker 1: doesn't mean that he doesn't support him, doesn't mean that
- 22:43Speaker 1: he's it is it is raising a level of expectation
- 22:47Speaker 1: to where it needs to be for you to be
- 22:50Speaker 1: at the top of your game, and the hole like,
- 22:52Speaker 1: well he is new at first base, I don't care
- 22:56Speaker 1: you're playing on the big league field, Like it's not
- 22:59Speaker 1: nobody's gonna look at there and watch somebody drop a
- 23:01Speaker 1: fly ball and go oh that's okay, Like he's not
- 23:05Speaker 1: he's he's not really that good out there. Anyway, It's
- 23:07Speaker 1: totally fine. Nobody nobody does that. Nobody like it just
- 23:12Speaker 1: doesn't it doesn't happen. Jose Butos out there, he was
- 23:16Speaker 1: throwing a bunch of balls in the game, like he
- 23:18Speaker 1: couldn't find the strike zone. He eventually came out because
- 23:21Speaker 1: he was hurting. Like, no matter what's going on on
- 23:24Speaker 1: the baseball field, if you want to compete as a team,
- 23:28Speaker 1: this type of stuff happens, and it happens for the
- 23:32Speaker 1: better of the team, for the better like moving forward.
- 23:36Speaker 1: It's this isn't something that now Casey Schmid's all of
- 23:39Speaker 1: a sudden gonna be clamming up. Casey Smid knows he
- 23:41Speaker 1: didn't catch both those balls, two balls that should have
- 23:44Speaker 1: been caught. He knows. Yes, he called him out, and
- 23:47Speaker 1: then they talked about it after the game, like there's
- 23:50Speaker 1: still teammates if he has to hold that against Chapman
- 23:53Speaker 1: and he's like, oh, that dude, he called me out.
- 23:55Speaker 1: That is bool. I can't believe he would have done that.
- 23:58Speaker 1: They would have. They didn't have a chat anyway.
- 24:01Speaker 3: And by the way, can I just say this, who
- 24:04Speaker 3: cares what I mean? No offense? I mean to Papa,
- 24:07Speaker 3: she shnee whatever his name is, Like, dude, why why is?
- 24:12Speaker 3: I don't know about you crats, But if my mom
- 24:14Speaker 3: or dad would have tweeted something like that, I would
- 24:15Speaker 3: have been like, mom, dad, you guys are banned on Twitter,
- 24:17Speaker 3: Like what are we talking? Like? You don't need to
- 24:19Speaker 3: get involved in this. I'm sorry. It's not your team,
- 24:21Speaker 3: it's not your kid. Don't get involved.
- 24:24Speaker 1: Yeah, that's not Yeah that was that was overstepping. I
- 24:27Speaker 1: completely agree with you. There are things cool.
- 24:30Speaker 3: Your kid made a couple of errors in the big leagues. Cool, like,
- 24:34Speaker 3: but that doesn't mean like you have the right to
- 24:36Speaker 3: fire at another team. You're not on that other team. Dude,
- 24:39Speaker 3: you don't know. Maybe he was joking. Maybe maybe Chapman
- 24:43Speaker 3: and and Schmid have a relationship where they joke around
- 24:46Speaker 3: with each other and say catch the ball, man, Like
- 24:47Speaker 3: if I threw a ball to Paul can Erico and
- 24:49Speaker 3: he missed it, I'd be like, dude, catch the freaking ball, bro,
- 24:52Speaker 3: and we'd laugh about it, right, I mean, we wouldn't
- 24:55Speaker 3: be pissed. Maybe they have that kind of like this
- 24:57Speaker 3: guy doesn't know, Like, sorry, I can't tell people parent,
- 25:00Speaker 3: I can't tell people how to talk to other people,
- 25:02Speaker 3: but to me. If I'm just saying if this was
- 25:04Speaker 3: my parents, I would have been like, Mom, Dad, what
- 25:06Speaker 3: are y'all doing?
- 25:10Speaker 1: Totally you have to you have to make sure and
- 25:12Speaker 1: it's just not just a parent thing like one of the.
- 25:15Speaker 3: One of the best nephew's friends all that.
- 25:18Speaker 1: Yes, you give somebody tickets to a game and they
- 25:22Speaker 1: sit in the family section, You as a player, are
- 25:26Speaker 1: responsible for the things that they say. People say, Ah,
- 25:28Speaker 1: that might not be that might not be it. You're responsible.
- 25:32Speaker 1: You have to make sure they're in check or they
- 25:34Speaker 1: don't sit in the family section. So it's just the
- 25:37Speaker 1: same if you're gonna put my name on, if you're
- 25:39Speaker 1: gonna say, hey, I'm so and So's cousin, I'm Eric
- 25:44Speaker 1: Kratz's you know brother, I'm I'm tweeting on it. No, No,
- 25:50Speaker 1: like you got to keep you got to keep your
- 25:52Speaker 1: family in check because it goes it goes down on you.
- 25:57Speaker 2: I've got two thoughts here. Number one, I'm completely with
- 26:00Speaker 2: you guys. I like this right. I didn't play the majors,
- 26:04Speaker 2: played high school basketball. But if someone's saying that to me,
- 26:07Speaker 2: that gets me fired up. If you have someone doing
- 26:09Speaker 2: this all the time, sure it can get a little old,
- 26:12Speaker 2: but a little kick sometimes great love it. That's Matt
- 26:15Speaker 2: Chapman style number two. And I didn't see this anywhere,
- 26:17Speaker 2: but maybe I missed it. I know this part for
- 26:19Speaker 2: a fact. Matt Chapman has been diagnosed with Tourette syndrome
- 26:23Speaker 2: since he's seven years old. I don't know the extent
- 26:26Speaker 2: of it, but I do know that in one article
- 26:28Speaker 2: I'm looking at quickly here it does include it involuntary vocalizations.
- 26:33Speaker 2: He has ticks. He was made fun of and bullied
- 26:36Speaker 2: when he was younger, so I don't want to use
- 26:39Speaker 2: that to blame. But also on top of that, you're
- 26:42Speaker 2: going to have some people that are picking on someone
- 26:44Speaker 2: who has been diagnosed with turets for the past thirtieth
- 26:48Speaker 2: years of his life.
- 26:51Speaker 3: I can't. I can't never heard that, never heard that,
- 26:53Speaker 3: although I did. My son played with the kid who
- 26:56Speaker 3: had turets. He had legit turets where he would say
- 26:59Speaker 3: things he was a great kid, and he was a
- 27:01Speaker 3: decent ballplayer, and he could have gone on play, but
- 27:03Speaker 3: he had he had turets. And he would say we'd
- 27:06Speaker 3: be in the middle of a team meeting and he
- 27:07Speaker 3: would he would get a tick and he would say
- 27:09Speaker 3: things and you first time when I was helping coach,
- 27:11Speaker 3: he did it, and I'm looking at the other coaches,
- 27:13Speaker 3: I'm like, did he just say what I think he said?
- 27:16Speaker 3: And they're like you didn't know, did you? And I
- 27:18Speaker 3: was like no, and they're like no, it's just it's
- 27:20Speaker 3: just he can't help himself. And I mean, it's it's amazing.
- 27:24Speaker 3: It's it's not amazing. That's not the right thing, but
- 27:27Speaker 3: it's just a it's a strange thing that happens and
- 27:30Speaker 3: they can't control it. And I'm not saying that's what
- 27:33Speaker 3: I'm with Matt Chapman, but I've been around a kid
- 27:35Speaker 3: with turetts and it is you just learned to deal
- 27:38Speaker 3: with it, and it's nothing they can do to control.
- 27:41Speaker 2: It, exactly. Yeah. I mean, for anyone that has someone
- 27:45Speaker 2: around them, you should learn about the syndrome and you
- 27:49Speaker 2: know best ways to be able to interact with someone
- 27:52Speaker 2: and also just understand them. So yeah, I've done some
- 27:55Speaker 2: pretty good research on turettes over the years. I've known
- 27:57Speaker 2: some people diagnosed with it, So anyway, I just hadn't
- 28:00Speaker 2: seen that anywhere in terms of this particular case. Again,
- 28:03Speaker 2: not blaming anything on this, but he does have Thrette syndrome.
- 28:07Speaker 2: That is a fact.
- 28:08Speaker 3: But also their teammates, they're frying their friends, trust me exactly.
- 28:11Speaker 3: Everyone says, Oh, you're hunky dory with every teammate your
- 28:14Speaker 3: whole year. No you're not. There are fights within teams
- 28:17Speaker 3: that people never hear about, and there are arguments. You're
- 28:20Speaker 3: like brothers, you're together for nine months straight. There's gonna
- 28:23Speaker 3: be arguments. There's gonna be things that people say that
- 28:26Speaker 3: they don't everyone agrees with. And then you get over
- 28:28Speaker 3: it and you hug and you kiss on the cheeks
- 28:31Speaker 3: and pat each other on the butt, and you go
- 28:34Speaker 3: the next day and you move on. I mean, that's
- 28:36Speaker 3: just the way it is. It's a long season and
- 28:38Speaker 3: things happen and it's not a big deal. Let's try
- 28:41Speaker 3: to stop trying to make something out of everything. Because
- 28:43Speaker 3: of social media.
- 28:46Speaker 2: I think, of anything, it's kind of fun that it
- 28:48Speaker 2: gets caught on camera and you get to see how
- 28:50Speaker 2: big leaguers interact. People want access, but if you want access,
- 28:52Speaker 2: you have to be able to just accept access and
- 28:56Speaker 2: not have to have this strong opinion. So yeah, I mean,
- 28:58Speaker 2: the real person have fault here is a player's dad,
- 29:02Speaker 2: chiming in and trying to call someone out. That's just
- 29:05Speaker 2: not a good idea, and then that player could end
- 29:08Speaker 2: up playing with that player long term. It's just it's stupid. Yeah,
- 29:11Speaker 2: the family members generally need to zip it if you're.
- 29:15Speaker 3: And by the way, what said Scott what Kratz said
- 29:18Speaker 3: about the family section is I've had and I'm sure
- 29:21Speaker 3: Krats said, to have conversations. I've had to have conversations
- 29:23Speaker 3: with family members and I'm like, hey, you need to
- 29:27Speaker 3: shut stf you because they're you can't say what you're Oh,
- 29:32Speaker 3: he's pitching terrible, and he's doing that like you're sitting
- 29:35Speaker 3: next to their mother or their wife or their kid,
- 29:38Speaker 3: Like just sit there and cheer for the team and
- 29:41Speaker 3: don't say a word like don't And trust me, we
- 29:44Speaker 3: all know. I'm sure Kratz's wife. My wife has said
- 29:47Speaker 3: things where hey, so and so was sitting there saying
- 29:50Speaker 3: this or that, like, hey, just sit there, cheer when
- 29:53Speaker 3: you're supposed to cheer. If you want to talk about
- 29:55Speaker 3: some we'll talk about it when we're alone after the game,
- 29:58Speaker 3: but not front of everyone else. Your mouth shut.
- 30:02Speaker 2: We've probably all been there. It just gets magnified in baseball.
- 30:05Speaker 2: I have family in like the Broadway world, and I've
- 30:08Speaker 2: been with family members where they're like watching a show
- 30:10Speaker 2: that one of my sisters is in and they're like, oh,
- 30:13Speaker 2: this person's not as good as the replacement or whatever,
- 30:15Speaker 2: and I'm like, they could be sitting right around us.
- 30:20Speaker 3: I've had that conversation at high school games, big league games,
- 30:25Speaker 3: volleyball games, everywhere, like, hey, you can't say that because
- 30:28Speaker 3: the mom is sitting right in front of you, or
- 30:30Speaker 3: the brother is sitting next to you, or the cousin
- 30:32Speaker 3: or whoever someone that knows somebody is sitting you're in
- 30:35Speaker 3: the family section. You just zip it.
- 30:37Speaker 1: We just had this situation. Our high school team just
- 30:40Speaker 1: beat a team, you know, much much larger school hadn't
- 30:45Speaker 1: beaten them for whatever it was like seven years, I think.
- 30:50Speaker 1: And it was a great game. It was a night game.
- 30:52Speaker 1: It was community to night. And afterwards, like my dad
- 30:55Speaker 1: comes up and he was like, oh man, what a
- 30:57Speaker 1: great game. He's like, well was the last time we
- 30:59Speaker 1: beat them? Oh that was so awesome. I'm like surrounded
- 31:03Speaker 1: by the other teams like parents and like players and
- 31:07Speaker 1: all that stuff, and I was like, well, we'll go
- 31:10Speaker 1: have breakfast. Good to see you. Thanks for coming to
- 31:13Speaker 1: the game. Like, but but they get they get routed up,
- 31:17Speaker 1: and they get amped up and they're living it with you.
- 31:19Speaker 1: So it It normally comes from a innocent place for
- 31:23Speaker 1: the most part. But you gotta just like Ajay said,
- 31:26Speaker 1: this one right, zip just zip it.
- 31:31Speaker 2: This episode is brought to you by Fox One. Go
- 31:34Speaker 2: get that new app. Stream baseball, stream football, stream World
- 31:39Speaker 2: Cup action.
- 31:39Speaker 1: You'll be watching definitely.

- 32:17Speaker 2: we're going to show a tweet with a trend for
- 32:20Speaker 2: the Mariners. The Yankees had themselves another nice series as
- 32:24Speaker 2: they swept the Giants, and they did really good work
- 32:27Speaker 2: against the Mariners. Here, you've got a Yankees team that
- 32:29Speaker 2: is thriving with Cam Schlitzler and their pitching staff. Of course,
- 32:33Speaker 2: the hitting like Ben Rice is providing some pop for
- 32:36Speaker 2: a team that's five and one so far this year.
- 32:38Speaker 2: The Mariners are three and four on the season. Can
- 32:41Speaker 2: we throw that tweetback up there, just to show what's
- 32:44Speaker 2: been wrong for the Mariners and whatever? I mean, they're
- 32:46Speaker 2: a game off of five hundred. We're just getting started here.
- 32:48Speaker 2: If anything, I'm looking at this Kratz and saying good
- 32:52Speaker 2: sign for Seattle because these numbers are not going to
- 32:55Speaker 2: last for long. They're two three four hitters. Game one
- 32:58Speaker 2: over eleven, Game two over eleven, Game three to two
- 33:00Speaker 2: for eleven, Game four one for twelve, Game five one
- 33:02Speaker 2: for thirteen, Game six to two for eleven, Game seven
- 33:05Speaker 2: ozh for nine. We're talking about Cal Riley, he's got
- 33:08Speaker 2: a four fifty ops, Julio Redriguez who has a two
- 33:10Speaker 2: to seventy seven ops, and Josh Naylor has a one
- 33:13Speaker 2: to seventy ops. Hey, I would buy stock in all
- 33:16Speaker 2: three of those players.
- 33:18Speaker 1: Water levels out. You just gotta gave us some time,
- 33:22Speaker 1: Charlie Manuel. Let you know, here's the thing that the Mariners.
- 33:26Speaker 1: The issue the Mariners have always had. They've had a
- 33:29Speaker 1: great top of the order. They've had great defense in
- 33:33Speaker 1: Cal Raley, JP Crawford and Julio Rodriguez up the middle,
- 33:38Speaker 1: they're there, They're pitching has been ridiculous. Rotation to creating
- 33:42Speaker 1: bullpen guys. They've just never had any hitting outside of
- 33:46Speaker 1: the top three, top four guys. So now that these
- 33:49Speaker 1: guys are not hitting and they're three and three, three
- 33:52Speaker 1: and four, three and four to start the season, this
- 33:56Speaker 1: is good. This is how This is how good teams
- 34:00Speaker 1: stay afloat when things aren't going well for your stars,
- 34:03Speaker 1: because stars can carry your team. I think Julio Rodriguez
- 34:06Speaker 1: had like a seven seven war or six war last year.
- 34:10Speaker 1: I'm not sure what it was. Like Kyle Raley did
- 34:14Speaker 1: should have been the MVP. Like those guys are gonna
- 34:17Speaker 1: come around. Are they gonna have MVP seasons? I don't know.
- 34:20Speaker 1: Julio Redrigez always starts slow. But when you can win
- 34:23Speaker 1: games when these guys, when your team is normally not
- 34:26Speaker 1: very deep, in your lineup and you're still winning some games.
- 34:30Speaker 1: You're staying right at five hundred. That is a great sign.
- 34:33Speaker 1: So Marinis fans should almost be happy.
- 34:37Speaker 2: History last night as we had our first game ending
- 34:40Speaker 2: on an ABS challenge overturned AJ. Apparently Samuel Basala, the
- 34:45Speaker 2: young rookie catcher for the Orioles, wasn't going to do it,
- 34:48Speaker 2: but he was like Besia was like me, we have
- 34:50Speaker 2: two challenges left, just could end the game. It's close.
- 34:53Speaker 2: I'm gonna use it. Smart.
- 34:56Speaker 3: Why would you not?
- 34:57Speaker 2: This is why would you know the pitch gets overturned? Yeah,
- 35:00Speaker 2: having Carter thought had by the way.
- 35:02Speaker 3: Nope, nope, s right, and by the way, think how
- 35:05Speaker 3: much on that plate that ball is. If they actually
- 35:07Speaker 3: do the three D strike.
- 35:08Speaker 1: Zone, he's not gonna let that go.
- 35:14Speaker 3: I'm never gonna let that go because in the rule
- 35:16Speaker 3: book the strike zone is three D. So let's not
- 35:19Speaker 3: pretend like all of a sudden, it's oo linear. It's not.
- 35:22Speaker 3: It's three D. Like maybe the bars he to wear
- 35:25Speaker 3: three D glasses. Whoever does the ABS needs to wear
- 35:27Speaker 3: three D glasses and then they could be like time
- 35:30Speaker 3: out ABS challenge. Everyone put on your glasses. Like when
- 35:32Speaker 3: you go to a three D movie and then all
- 35:35Speaker 3: of a sudden, on the big screen, the players like,
- 35:37Speaker 3: hold up, hey, coach, give me the three D glasses.
- 35:40Speaker 3: Everyone puts on their three D glasses and they show
- 35:41Speaker 3: it on the big screen in three D.
- 35:43Speaker 2: It sounds like someone who lives close to Disney.
- 35:46Speaker 1: Yes, you live in an ai world getting your tickets
- 35:49Speaker 1: in Boca Ratan, you know, taking the whole baseball team
- 35:53Speaker 1: out to dinner about it. You can't. You can't have
- 35:56Speaker 1: a three D. You can't have a three D. This
- 35:59Speaker 1: wouldn't have affected it. It still would have been a strike.
- 36:02Speaker 1: These are the ones that I love it. I love
- 36:04Speaker 1: I mean, are we going to have a playoff game
- 36:07Speaker 1: ending on an ABS challenge? Maybe? But I'd rather see
- 36:11Speaker 1: a playoff game not end because they challenge and then
- 36:16Speaker 1: we get more drama. Like that's that's it for me,
- 36:19Speaker 1: Like I'm here for that.
- 36:22Speaker 2: Besio, also twenty one years old, hit a home run
- 36:25Speaker 2: his first of the season in that game, a win
- 36:28Speaker 2: for the Orioles par He's a special talent. They look
- 36:31Speaker 2: like they've got something good there.
- 36:33Speaker 3: Is he gonna be the catcher? Though? Is he gonna
- 36:35Speaker 3: be the catcher? The DH that's the problem.
- 36:37Speaker 2: Catcher ish the catcher ish.
- 36:39Speaker 3: Ish because they have a first baseman, y'all, so we
- 36:41Speaker 3: can't go to first base.
- 36:43Speaker 2: No, I did catcher ish well, dh.
- 36:47Speaker 3: That was the thing I were worried about with him, though,
- 36:49Speaker 3: is could he catch? I mean what I've seen, he's okay.
- 36:52Speaker 3: But if you mash. Yeah, yeah, listen, here's the thing.
- 36:56Speaker 3: If you mash, guess what, they'll find a place for you,
- 36:58Speaker 3: he mashes.
- 37:00Speaker 1: I would never I would never call prospect up to
- 37:03Speaker 1: not play his primary position. But that dude, his primary
- 37:07Speaker 1: position right now is hitting. He can he can ding
- 37:11Speaker 1: a baseball.
- 37:13Speaker 2: Hey, we're back. Can we do the Mets tweet here?
- 37:16Speaker 2: Because we'll probably only have time for one topic in
- 37:19Speaker 2: hot corner room we come back. Uh, Lindor made a
- 37:23Speaker 2: couple of mistakes yesterday, guys. He forgot the outs in
- 37:26Speaker 2: the first and then was picked off, although Mendy took
- 37:30Speaker 2: the blame for the pickoff, saying that he was going
- 37:33Speaker 2: to run there, although he still looked pretty frozen to me. Yeah,
- 37:37Speaker 2: Mendy did postgame crats say like, oh no, I'm I'm
- 37:40Speaker 2: taking the blame on that one. He was going to run.
- 37:43Speaker 3: He was like like it wasn't even looking. He got
- 37:48Speaker 3: picked off and did if you move, I mean, stuff happens.
- 37:52Speaker 3: I'll say this stuff happens. It was a rough first inning.
- 37:56Speaker 3: That was all pretty. It was all the first.
- 37:57Speaker 2: Inning though, now the other part was in an inning
- 38:01Speaker 2: where the inning when Soda hit the homer and so
- 38:04Speaker 2: different than the game. Yeah, because they lost by a run.
- 38:06Speaker 3: It's such a small Sables, Anthony Tacoma, We love you.
- 38:09Speaker 1: Stop it.
- 38:09Speaker 3: It's been what six games. Let's let's let's calm down.
- 38:13Speaker 2: The risks, the runners in scoring position, he was planting out,
- 38:16Speaker 2: how much chasing they're doing.
- 38:18Speaker 3: So in six games? It's six games? Six games? Are
- 38:21Speaker 3: we really worried about Francisco Lindoor? Oh no, stop, no,
- 38:26Speaker 3: but you can't.
- 38:27Speaker 2: I'm not worried about either.
- 38:29Speaker 3: Raise your hand if you've got how many outs are? Okay?
- 38:34Speaker 3: Thank you? Raise your hand? Got picked off?
- 38:37Speaker 1: You can't, you you can't.
- 38:38Speaker 3: You can't have those type you never got picked off?
- 38:41Speaker 1: Picked off?
- 38:41Speaker 3: Yeah, everyone's picked everyone's been picked off. Everyone's forgot the
- 38:47Speaker 3: outs there are. Let's let's just everybody take a deep
- 38:49Speaker 3: breath here. Everyone again, social media is looking for something
- 38:52Speaker 3: to happen. Let's everyone stop.
- 38:54Speaker 1: Stop, they're not six, they're not they're not wrong. You
- 38:58Speaker 1: need to have You need to be called out when
- 39:01Speaker 1: guys make mistakes that are mental mistakes. In my opinion,
- 39:06Speaker 1: those are mental mistakes. I could care less that they're
- 39:09Speaker 1: hitting one to eighty with runners in scoring position, or
- 39:12Speaker 1: they're chasing a ton, I could care less. That's a
- 39:15Speaker 1: small sample size. I need you to lock in on
- 39:19Speaker 1: a getaway day game, just the same as you're locking
- 39:22Speaker 1: in for the ESPN Sunday Night game. That's all I'm saying.
- 39:26Speaker 1: You gotta lock in. That's okay to be called out for.
- 39:29Speaker 2: For BETMGM players, you'll get in any sport Odds Boost
- 39:32Speaker 2: token in your account. To add that token at a

- 39:37Speaker 2: activate the token. If you win your wager that was
- 39:39Speaker 2: made with the token, you get extra winnings in unrestricted
- 39:43Speaker 2: bonus dollars. Gambling problem or concern, there's help called one
- 39:46Speaker 2: eight hundred gambler. Let us slap cratsats. Some people have
- 40:01Speaker 2: been wondering what you have today.
- 40:03Speaker 1: And I'm gonna wear another Pirates hat tomorrow. Me and
- 40:06Speaker 1: Connor Griffin, both super prospects that got called up for
- 40:10Speaker 1: the Pirates. I mean J. J. Cooper said it most
- 40:13Speaker 1: anticipated call up since Steven Strasburg, which I remember huge. Ironically,
- 40:19Speaker 1: he got called up against the Pirates who couldn't hit
- 40:23Speaker 1: worth a lick. I was on. I wasn't on that
- 40:26Speaker 1: exact team. I got called up later, but yes, I.
- 40:30Speaker 3: Got a second start. I got Strassburg second start in Washington.
- 40:35Speaker 3: I was there for the second start.
- 40:37Speaker 1: And then that's called him up because the Pirates were
- 40:40Speaker 1: brutes mcgoots and they wanted a soft landing for him,
- 40:42Speaker 1: and he proved it. And here we go.
- 40:46Speaker 2: Okay, let's run this last thing we have.
- 40:52Speaker 3: On what you got man festival. Ain't no way, ain't
- 40:57Speaker 3: no way, first guest, ain't no way.
- 41:01Speaker 2: That was Jeremy Pain. You're grabbing the mic from Chandler
- 41:03Speaker 2: Rome to be like, how does it feel to be
- 41:04Speaker 2: the second fastest player on the team. I thought that
- 41:06Speaker 2: was funny from the other day. It's good stuff.
- 41:11Speaker 3: I always knew. I always knew what it was like
- 41:13Speaker 3: to be the second fastest on every team.
- 41:16Speaker 2: You wanted to be first, but you were okay with second, right,
- 41:19Speaker 2: that's the real ye.
- 41:21Speaker 3: Some of the teams I played on had really fast
- 41:23Speaker 3: guys and I was the second fastest, so I felt
- 41:25Speaker 3: okay about myself.
- 41:26Speaker 1: You were totally fine. Would not be in the fastest.
- 41:29Speaker 3: Because if you're fast and they expect you to steal bases,
- 41:31Speaker 3: and I.
- 41:31Speaker 1: Didn't want to do that, I'd be exhausting because.
- 41:34Speaker 3: My war would have gone through the roof then and
- 41:36Speaker 3: then they would actually man, it would have been crazy. Yeah,
- 41:40Speaker 3: got paid so much? Have I just been had more
- 41:42Speaker 3: stolen bases?
- 41:43Speaker 1: You could have paid for somebody else's meal and not
- 41:45Speaker 1: just your son's. Nope baseball team and nope parking ticket.
