- 0:01Look what you made me do. How was somebody new?
- 0:06Oh, baby, baby, I'm dancing with a stranger.
- 0:10Look what you made me do. How was somebody new?
- 0:15Oh, baby, baby. I'm dancing with a stranger.
- 0:20Me, me. Me.
- 0:21Me, Me, me, me. OK, come on.
- 0:24You can open this one up. Come.
- 0:27I hear you're the expert at that sort of thing.
- 0:31Well, welcome back to a Hamster with a Blunt pen Knife, The
- 0:38Stranger Commentary Podcast. Yes.
- 0:42I'm Dylan and I'm here again, and I'm with Mr. Joe Ford.
- 0:45Yes, sorry for laughing like that, I've made a very rude joke
- 0:48before we started then. I don't know what you mean.
- 0:53There was no breaching of the peace going on here, right?
- 0:56I, I assure you, no, we are together again, aren't we?
- 1:00On the sofa? That's right.
- 1:03For the, for the most atypical of all the strangers.
- 1:07So I was just watching this, thinking, well, where's Roberta
- 1:11Taylor as the death Sergeant? You know, where's Reg Hollis?
- 1:15Why am I watching an episode of The Bill all of a sudden?
- 1:18Well, because Bill Bags really wants to direct episodes of The
- 1:23Bill and things like that. So he used The Stranger as a
- 1:26vehicle for that. So we get quite a sci-fi light
- 1:30story. Now that is a police procedural.
- 1:33And am I mistaken in thinking that Briggs did get a stab?
- 1:39He after this he did get a stab at writing the Bill script.
- 1:46Well, it was in your book. I read it this morning.
- 1:49No, I thought. I don't.
- 1:50Briggs had. I know Braggs had meetings with
- 1:52like Emmerdale and EastEnders because I don't know.
- 1:56I think he was quite as saying that he just, he didn't want to
- 1:59do it. Ultimately, he didn't want to go
- 2:00down that path. Briggs didn't end up writing or
- 2:04story lining on a Channel 5 soap at one point, but he just hated
- 2:08it. I think he was very much more
- 2:11comfortable in the Doctor Who. Will, I've heard then that sort
- 2:16of Jason Haigh. Ellery turned up in a puff of
- 2:19smoke and some horns on his head and said sign here and the rest
- 2:23of your life is mine. And here we are all these years
- 2:29later, Jason. Haigh Ellery seems like a lovely
- 2:32man. Oh God, he and after two he.
- 2:34He comes across beautifully in the interview as well.
- 2:36Imagine if he was secretly an evil genius though.
- 2:39Oh, I'd love it. What I would really love is for
- 2:42Jason Hagelary to do a tell all interview where he tells us all
- 2:45the behind the scenes got super big finish.
- 2:48A bit like that first book. Do you remember the Ben Cook
- 2:50one? Anyway, so bringing us back
- 2:53round to Breach of the Peace, which do you think is quite a
- 2:56nice title? Yes, that was very.
- 2:58High. Pitched, wasn't it?
- 3:00It is. I am not grabbing his nuts now.
- 3:03I am no is do you think the stranger has the elasticity to
- 3:11to work within this genre? I think.
- 3:14What a question I think. You're overthinking it mate.
- 3:19I've got to fill it out all right.
- 3:21I think all the rules are off at this point, aren't they?
- 3:24Because they've set they're, they're rebooting the franchise
- 3:27as it were and giving it a new direction.
- 3:29So yeah, it can absolutely be anything.
- 3:31I mean, I, I, I would have liked them to have gone further.
- 3:34Maybe make the next 1A sitcom. Well, they did it with one
- 3:37division, didn't they? Absolutely brilliantly.
- 3:39What the hell did the Doctor Who fans think of this?
- 3:42I mean, you've got to wonder whether at this point people
- 3:45would like it tails off, you know, they do one more after
- 3:48this and whether it was. You know, they were like you
- 3:51think what, less people are buying them I.
- 3:52Think so. There was there was a real like
- 3:57Bag says in an interview at the time of this that like if breach
- 4:01of the peace does well, I'm going to quit my job at the BBC
- 4:03and make 6 films a year, put 6 sort of stranger slash air zones
- 4:07a year. Obviously he didn't do that.
- 4:09So I think that goes to tell you.
- 4:12I mean the. The the the core fan base were
- 4:14only really interested when it was Doctor Who Light.
- 4:16In terms of execution, I mean, I get this is the one that you put
- 4:21on your show world because it's the most down to earth and the
- 4:25least science fictionally. But in terms of the execution of
- 4:28these six, I wouldn't say this is the strongest.
- 4:32I mean, I'd I'd put forward the third one or that's Briggs that
- 4:34directed that one, isn't it? Is that bags?
- 4:36Oh, OK. Yeah, that's the one.
- 4:38I'd I'd say, look, this is what I can do with no money.
- 4:42What do you think the? People, the people running
- 4:44EastEnders in the bill, didn't want to see sci-fi.
- 4:48I don't think anyone wanted to see sci-fi this time.
- 4:51Well do you want to not watch some sci-fi?
- 4:53I'd love to not watch. So it's not Doctor Who, it's not
- 4:58sci-fi. It's totally within the usual
- 5:00hamster remit in 54321. Off we go.
- 5:11Whatever police dramas were on at the time was.
- 5:14That it. Oh, no, that twat was in that,
- 5:19wasn't he? Yeah.
- 5:21Oh, but Mina Anwar was in it as well.
- 5:25Yeah, she was great. Oh, nice.
- 5:29It's shattering glass effects. This is done in 2. 1005 OK,
- 5:33there's no. Shattering glass effects in
- 5:351995. The same time as Doctor Who was
- 5:38coming back, I'm expecting oh, Oh my God, look at this,
- 5:42terrorists from another dimension.
- 5:44They've completed their mission on Earth and now they want to
- 5:47leave. But they are trapped and they
- 5:50are desperate. What?
- 5:52We all. Wow.
- 5:54Yeah, wait till the end there if you want to do that.
- 6:00Don't make it audible, all right?
- 6:02Now this is nice, this corridor with the little sort of the
- 6:05light as your opening shot. I think that's what was quite
- 6:09nice and I've got a feeling they finish on it as well.
- 6:12Oh, OK, Something like a visual topping and tailing going on
- 6:16and. They walk in and the characters
- 6:20stand in the dark and have a conversation.
- 6:23That's right, don't. Hit the light because it could
- 6:26be anybody. No one's doing the line at this
- 6:28point. And then you cut to the close up
- 6:32and it's much lighter. So as if you were just watching
- 6:36this on its own. Yeah, you were just assumed that
- 6:40Saul and Egan are just detectives, right?
- 6:42Until the script tells you otherwise.
- 6:44That's why they had that little thing at the.
- 6:46Beginning saying that does make sense.
- 6:48I just realized they don't finish on that shot so ignore.
- 6:51Me so his bags and assuming that people aren't watching the the
- 6:54last one. No, I think, I think he's done
- 6:57that for the people he's sending the video to as an audition,
- 7:00please. OK, that camera didn't move then
- 7:04for like quite some time. But I like this they've got
- 7:09undercover in the police. Yeah, I did too.
- 7:12I did too. And I like all the different
- 7:13characters they meet. Obviously Nick Briggs is there
- 7:16as one of the sergeants and fabulous Caroline John, who's
- 7:20doing a sort of Scottish accents.
- 7:22Is it Scottish or is it new car? Oh, sure.
- 7:26I. Think it's did you hear accent
- 7:28in dust breeding? It's very indeterminate.
- 7:30All right, Miss Dasita, I didn't even.
- 7:33Know she was in. It Yeah, she's the mad sort of
- 7:35art thief in that I haven't listened to dust breeding for.
- 7:39Years. So Saul and Egan are on Earth.
- 7:44Looking for Solomon So they've become policemen.
- 7:47Brexit touch? He looks just like David Haig
- 7:51from the Thin Blue line there. Yeah, doesn't he wishy washy
- 7:55hoity toity up? Yeah, Jack.
- 7:57See, I actually think Caroline John brings value to anything
- 8:03like. So Caroline John, at this point,
- 8:05haven't really been involved in Doctor Who.
- 8:08She wasn't. She'd only just started doing
- 8:09conventions. And when she was asked and she
- 8:12turned them down and then eventually she said she'd do
- 8:14them, but she wouldn't accept any money because she couldn't
- 8:16believe anybody would want to hear her talk about her time on
- 8:19the show. Well, she did them for free.
- 8:21Yeah, and the first few, yeah, until she realised that she had
- 8:23an audience. I guess we had a word with her.
- 8:25Yeah. You know how much you can make
- 8:27for me to conferences. Valuing the the trade but one of
- 8:33her first ones, she was approached by Bill Bags, who
- 8:35said I'm making these films, would you like to come and be in
- 8:38one? And that's that's how he goes.
- 8:39I mean, I'm so pleased because I really like especially the first
- 8:44couple of probes. I think she's fabulous in them.
- 8:47I think as like I didn't appreciate it as a kid, but that
- 8:51I appreciate her more now. I do think she's a good actress
- 8:54and I think she holds her own in season 7.
- 8:57She holds her own as a lead of the of the probe videos I think.
- 9:02She's really good. She's Have you heard The Big
- 9:05Finish or the other Last Post, She did a couple of Companion
- 9:07Chronicles. She is wonderful in them.
- 9:11She's such a good actress. I was watching the season 7
- 9:16Blu-ray extras, a Caroline John documentary recently.
- 9:19They had footage of that first convention that she goes to
- 9:24where she didn't want to go out because she thought they were
- 9:26going to Boo her because she had convinced herself, because she
- 9:29was technically sort of fired, that she was no good in the
- 9:33role. And then when she walked in,
- 9:35then she had this up Roy as applause.
- 9:39Oh, right now please let's talk about this.
- 9:42So the Stranger AKA Solomon AKA Colin Baker shacked.
- 9:47Up with some woman. I don't know whether they're
- 9:49they're. Fucking she is so flumpy oh God.
- 9:53This was the role that they wanted a Milda Staunton to do.
- 9:55Is it Staunton? Swindon, Oh, was it this role?
- 9:57Not not Caroline John's role. This role No.
- 10:02God have I. Had to shag Chad Colin.
- 10:05They're definitely at him because at the end he is so
- 10:08protective over her when they're threatening her.
- 10:11But I I don't know that this is the best turn I've ever seen
- 10:15from an actress. And Colin's dressed like a dad
- 10:19now as well. Briggs.
- 10:21Honestly, he could be in a porn movie there with that mustache,
- 10:24couldn't he? I don't.
- 10:24Know. I think he looks quite verbil.
- 10:28Yeah, look, look at his tires. Just slightly open.
- 10:32But the one thing I did realise in this was the sort of the
- 10:35space rooms that they're in, there's a phone and there's
- 10:39something pinned to the wall, so.
- 10:40This is an old BBC training sort of space.
- 10:44It's an old BBC office in BBC not.
- 10:46It's a filing cabinet. Yeah, but yeah, it's not
- 10:49production design. And production designers will
- 10:52tell you in anything now that they hate white walls because
- 10:55they just look. So they don't come across as
- 10:58white, they come across as beige and play to bear.
- 11:01Yeah. Yeah, it's like, unless it's
- 11:02like proper, like dense white, like a void.
- 11:06It feels cheap. That's that's the trouble.
- 11:08Now what's this magazine that she distributes?
- 11:11It's. Just a local local magazine
- 11:13sort. Of thing and there and Sony
- 11:16going to hassle it Oh look at her glasses Oh my God, you think
- 11:21so everything about her right? Her blouse, the business jacket,
- 11:28her enormous haircut. She looks so midnight, isn't
- 11:31she? Looks.
- 11:32Like my mum had a cousin who looked like.
- 11:34Her. Oh, really?
- 11:36Yeah, I don't know. I've been going nowhere with
- 11:39that, but it's true. Is she a tough bitch that could
- 11:41step up to time terrorists as well?
- 11:43I think she probably could have, yeah.
- 11:45OK, in fact this look at the quality of the video here.
- 11:51This feels quite different from the last one.
- 11:52You know what I think it is? It's clearly a sunny day, do.
- 11:55You think that just helps the picture quality?
- 11:58Completely by chance though, look at the colours they've got
- 12:00around them. There's blue doors, there's a
- 12:02red car. It feels quite vibrant.
- 12:04So it suddenly pops a little bit more and that's down to, and I'm
- 12:08sure it's by accident, but you can't help but it just looks a
- 12:13bit more because it's not, doesn't look like this is lit.
- 12:17Dylan, will you look at those earrings that she's wearing?
- 12:20Pat Butcher, eat your heart out. All right?
- 12:23Where's? This lady now I like the fact
- 12:27they turned Saul into a sleaze and this.
- 12:30Like it is. He's really unpleasant, but he's
- 12:33not the unpleasant he was before of being like this violent
- 12:37little. Almost child.
- 12:38And then come the last one. You know when they stay the
- 12:41night in that house, he starts flirting with a woman outside
- 12:44the loo. You know, he's a bit of a
- 12:47player, no? They didn't get permission to
- 12:50film outside this police station.
- 12:54Hey, is that Saint Paul's? Where are they?
- 12:57Oh, OK, So what, they walked up to there and just ran off?
- 13:04No way. So where's this then?
- 13:07That's in the BBC. Training.
- 13:09OK. I mean, it's quite convincing,
- 13:11aren't they? It works, you know, by the time
- 13:14we get to when to die or no time to die of.
- 13:18We know exactly how long we had with that camera, that position.
- 13:21It's. Just like do you?
- 13:23Remember all the shoppers in the mall walking past, like, going
- 13:25what's happening? You've been framed.
- 13:29What's going on? You've been framed.
- 13:31Beetles. No, wait.
- 13:33Beetles about. What's the one where they used
- 13:34to do the practical jokes? Beetles About.
- 13:37Yeah. Oh, no.
- 13:38Look, Briggs is now having a really bad day.
- 13:40His shirt is open, his airy chest's out, and his tie is
- 13:44loose around his neck. Do.
- 13:45You think it was shortly after seeing this that he decided it
- 13:48was time to shave his head. I.
- 13:52Mean and man myself, but like, there comes a point where.
- 13:55You really. Are you a bald man?
- 13:57Yeah, I know, But you always wear an hat.
- 13:58I can never tell. If you could come off that train
- 14:02today without a hat on, I totally would have missed you.
- 14:08I think maybe this is when he decided to shave his chest as
- 14:11well. That's quite your lovely furry
- 14:15chest there. I'm fighting to wonder, you
- 14:18know? Right.
- 14:21Joe Ford into a script *** We'll talk.
- 14:23Alright, do. You know what's weird about when
- 14:26I watched this now as a kid? Caroline, John, and in the
- 14:29previous one. Louise Jameson.
- 14:32Jameson seemed impossibly old. And now?
- 14:36Looks so different from their time on Doctor Who, whereas now
- 14:40they look possibly slightly older than me, if not the same
- 14:44age. I do think you know when
- 14:46Caroline John came back in The Five Doctors.
- 14:48Yeah. That's only, I think it's only
- 14:51like 11 years, but it feels, it looks like about 30, doesn't it?
- 14:55Like she, I mean, she was a smoker, Her daughter says on the
- 14:58thing. She genuinely smoked a pipe so
- 15:00it wasn't a problem. I don't it was cancer.
- 15:06She did. She had two bouts of cancer.
- 15:08One she got through and then the other she didn't, by all
- 15:12accounts, and nobody in that documentary has got a bad word
- 15:15to say about her. It seems like she's one of those
- 15:18people that enriched the lives of everybody she met and us for
- 15:23doing these. Fabulous now.
- 15:24Do you know how old this this video is?
- 15:2730 years. Today.
- 15:29Well, not not. It's the.
- 15:31Anniversary. I believe it was.
- 15:33It was. It's 1995 and.
- 15:37We are now 2005 that. Might be even be 94.
- 15:41Thank you for teaching the viewers how to count there it.
- 15:45Blows my mind because the other day I realized that the first
- 15:47autumn film was the same same age as the classic series when
- 15:50it got cancelled. The sort of meaningless stats
- 15:52that. I know, but no, let's let's do
- 15:55the math again. I was 15 then when this came
- 15:57out. Well, then you do the math.
- 16:00You're not. You're not. 15 No, it's tragic,
- 16:02isn't it? Yeah, look at that telly.
- 16:07I'm trying to think of what was the first spin off I saw.
- 16:09I think it was the Devil of Winterborne.
- 16:11I picked up the VHS of the Devil of Winter in like a Virgin
- 16:15Megastore or something like that and honestly to God it was like
- 16:18the most hard hitting thing I'd ever seen at the time.
- 16:20That bit where we Shearsmith got out and you saw his balls
- 16:25falling out of his boxes and the two boys on the bed, you know,
- 16:28tosssing about God. Honestly, the tracking on that
- 16:32bit of the video, when do you know?
- 16:35But all of this passed me by. All of this.
- 16:38I was so excited about the Probe series because it felt like as a
- 16:42kid who was into Doctor Who and The X-Files, and they touted it
- 16:45as the British X-Files. Yes, I think that's why I picked
- 16:49it up. It had it on the cover, I swear,
- 16:51or the back cover. And then it was Davison's face
- 16:55on the cover with the glowing eyes.
- 16:57And they were. In shops, yeah, like they're in
- 17:00mainstream shops. So it was just quite exciting.
- 17:03And then the unnatural selection one, which had the mutant on the
- 17:06thumb, yeah. Which I thought, fuck, really?
- 17:08This is we've arrived. And you know the bit, you'll
- 17:12know exactly what it is because you've watched this too many
- 17:14times. The bit where the hands going
- 17:15over the body and the music's going all bongo Yi just thought
- 17:19that was the coolest thing I've ever.
- 17:21Seen. The hands going inside the body.
- 17:25Oh, it's amazing. I like to think, though, that
- 17:28Solomon would have shacked up with a sort of Louise Jameson
- 17:30sort. Not, not this frumpy woman.
- 17:33He he met Lou and he went, do you know what?
- 17:35She's too dangerous. He pushed her out of that, that
- 17:38tractor beam or that teleport beam.
- 17:41And he was like what I need is a bit of sensible simple crumpet.
- 17:47Have you noticed they keep being in the same corridor and the
- 17:51same office? They keep going in and out of
- 17:53the same office. They're, oh, look at this,
- 17:56that's this shows that they've got a good relationship because
- 17:59he just, she's on the phone. He gives her the fag while she's
- 18:02on the phone. He lights her up.
- 18:04Well, I don't know, They've had a little dalliance at the
- 18:06Christmas party or something like that.
- 18:08You think Nick? Briggs shared.
- 18:09Caroline, John. Well, not in, no.
- 18:11Not the actors, the characters. I mean, actually, I did find
- 18:16Caroline John and Nick Briggs really engaging though.
- 18:18This pair, yeah. They're.
- 18:19Good. Do you want to spin off with
- 18:21them and? What to replace the bill?
- 18:25Yes, all right, let's do it. No, no, no.
- 18:27If I was going to do a spin off of any of these, I would have
- 18:30had a couple of series of probe, different monster of the week
- 18:34stories with our sort of our running governmental, well,
- 18:38basically The X-Files, you know, stuff going on in the ministry.
- 18:45I would have just had that what Colin Baker and that woman were
- 18:48up to before this Eager and Saul arrived at just then running a
- 18:52newspaper. Could you have made that
- 18:55interesting? No.
- 18:56For several seasons, you know, you just can't smoke like this
- 19:01now in rooms, can you? Well.
- 19:03Even smoking on television is difficult.
- 19:05Like you when you work for. I've done stuff for Channel 4
- 19:09and the BBC and they want to know their compliance team, want
- 19:12to know why the character's smoking and if it's not, what?
- 19:15If it's set in the past. Yeah, but it's things like that.
- 19:17But they they will be like, no, we don't think that person's
- 19:21needs to smoke. Wow.
- 19:23Because they just don't want to. See.
- 19:24Is it that that street well? You you can't even see
- 19:26cigarettes in shops anymore. They're behind a thing, aren't?
- 19:29They yeah, if. You're a certain age you will
- 19:31never be able to buy cigarettes. Interestingly, the frontage now
- 19:35is on. How we got here has all gone.
- 19:37It's all vapes now and all these very colourful packages.
- 19:40They're selling them like sweeties.
- 19:42Oh, where are we now? We're down.
- 19:44By the canal. That's very nice.
- 19:46It does get a nice location in there now and again.
- 19:49Scenic. The only way we're going.
- 19:51To get out is now. There's definitely a difference
- 19:56with the picture of this one. I don't know what it is.
- 19:58It feels sharper. I just, yeah, maybe.
- 20:02Maybe it is. Maybe it's just a different
- 20:04camera. Is it always the same cameraman
- 20:06Dick? Cursor doesn't all work.
- 20:08Cursor is that. Yeah, cursors.
- 20:17That's it. I mean, I could see a series,
- 20:20couldn't you? These 4.
- 20:22Yeah, I think not. Solomon, aren't we taking him
- 20:25out of the picture, these two as the detectives out on the
- 20:28streets and the other two back at doing the research?
- 20:32Guy's a prototype gene hunts. They are, Yeah.
- 20:36Oh, here we go. Romantic liaison on the bridge
- 20:39between Colin and Miss Frump. You've got.
- 20:41A finger around a minute. I mean you, you say that there's
- 20:47a bit of fingering going on in the last one.
- 20:51I couldn't believe how loud that orgasm was.
- 20:54We'll get there. We will get there.
- 20:56Did. They make your Dick twitch.
- 20:59No, because Mark was coming down the stairs.
- 21:01I was trying to hide my phone. Is that what you're watching
- 21:04while I'm upstairs having a bath?
- 21:08You know, you've got to sneak your wanks in where you can.
- 21:10You know Colin Baker. Is looking less and less like
- 21:15Doctor Who at this point. Isn't.
- 21:16He he is, although his hair is looking more lustrous than it
- 21:19was in the last one. Have you noticed?
- 21:21He's got a bit of a wig on. Him it's a bit of a Mr. McGee
- 21:25hair gun going on there. It's a.
- 21:26Bit wild there. We go, So how long has he been
- 21:31shaking up with this woman? We don't really know, do we?
- 21:35But he's living in her house, you know, He's got his feet well
- 21:39under the table. What I'm, I'm if the Doctor
- 21:42Who's wearing bold, is it just, is it just David Davidson's a
- 21:47bit bold now? Isn't he?
- 21:48I mean, obviously Harton always wearing a wig only, wasn't he?
- 21:52But. Of the classic Doctors, I feel
- 21:55like it's just Colin, right? Colin and David.
- 21:57Yeah, Mccoy's still got a lovely head of hair, isn't he?
- 21:59Ever? Quite long, in fact.
- 22:02Oh, he's having a wine. Look at that.
- 22:04A red wine in the most hideous little wine glasses you've ever
- 22:10seen. Those are.
- 22:11Hideous. Also, those aren't proper
- 22:12measures. It's a note.
- 22:14Just wait until we go into this house, like into the kitchen and
- 22:17everything. I mean, I know my house is
- 22:18humble, but if I lived here, that's it.
- 22:20Game over. You'd have.
- 22:21To spruce it. Up a bit, wouldn't you?
- 22:25Got this lovely little table outside.
- 22:29So was he planning on literally staying on earth and living his
- 22:32whole life with this woman? I think he he knows his past is
- 22:35going to catch up with him at some point.
- 22:36He's just put her in trouble, basically in harm's way.
- 22:41But unlike the last one, we are in about four or five locations,
- 22:47aren't we? We are.
- 22:48So there's a bit of more movement to this one, more
- 22:53dynamic. That's it.
- 22:53Even if they've only clearly got 6 rooms, I wonder if this is
- 22:56back to this house. No, I hope not.
- 22:59I know that. I should hope he's making more
- 23:01money of this on the BBV videos in.
- 23:03Cotton, the house in Arizona solution, is his wife's parents
- 23:08at the time. Whose flat is it that Joe
- 23:12Castleton lives in? In Cyberon?
- 23:14Who knows? I mean, that's quite a nice
- 23:17place. That is where she lives with her
- 23:19gay busy mate, yeah. Exactly.
- 23:22RIP what? The actor?
- 23:24No, the the character. Oh yeah, doesn't it?
- 23:27I really enjoyed Saigon. I watched it for the first time
- 23:29the other day. It was amazing.
- 23:32The heist bit was incredible. Oh, sorry, back to breach of the
- 23:35piece. No, this isn't.
- 23:36I'm not doing something. No, no, I know what's all
- 23:39covering all the spin offering here.
- 23:42You know, I do feel like John Wadmore is doing quite a lot for
- 23:44the ponytail. Yeah, as well.
- 23:46He's a. Shifty Chap.
- 23:48Yes, now he pulls it off. Yeah.
- 23:50I mean, it did look sexier in the last time when it was all
- 23:52sort of loose and shaggy. You don't like them in this
- 23:56loose? No, I do.
- 23:57I think no, again, these scenes are just too dark.
- 24:01Like where's your lighting? Like there is a light source
- 24:03coming in there, but is it a natural light source or is it
- 24:06that's how you? What's he doing with that phone
- 24:08space? Computers.
- 24:10How I say he's sort of sucking the data out of it.
- 24:13I'm. Sucking.
- 24:16Oh, I'd love to see John Paul. Oh no, let's not go there.
- 24:21Colin's still got the same glass of wine Lurt.
- 24:24Getting shit faced all afternoon.
- 24:26It was like when we saw them earlier and they were halfway
- 24:28through a bottle of wine. Now they're on.
- 24:29They must be on at least a third bottle.
- 24:31Can I ask you a question about positioning cameras like this?
- 24:35Well, I was going to say like now, I'm not a slim bloke and
- 24:40neither is Colin. And right now the camera is.
- 24:44So look, it's Tommy that is. Because I reckon it's a tiny
- 24:48room and there's only a certain amount of space, so it can only
- 24:51get so wide or so. Quiet.
- 24:52You just wouldn't have an unflattering shot on that on TV,
- 24:55now, would you? I mean, I've got I feel
- 24:59represented here. Bill bags did wonders for
- 25:02representation. He did.
- 25:05Oh, they're burn victims, you know.
- 25:09All of them pipe smoking lesbians.
- 25:11Do you think she's a bit New Agey?
- 25:12Those earrings are, you know, sort of like dream catchers.
- 25:15And yeah, I think there's the Earth sign there.
- 25:20Oh, she's going. Oh, yeah, I know you've got a
- 25:22difficult past you won't tell me about.
- 25:25Please stranger. You've got no idea, love.
- 25:29He's not even. Thank God that's so method.
- 25:31She's got tears in her eyes. She's given it all.
- 25:34Emil Imelda Watson face wouldn't have done a good performance.
- 25:38No, Miss Frumpsian. I don't actually know what her
- 25:40name is. That's what I'm calling her.
- 25:42I think it's Holly something. Holly Long Holly.
- 25:45Valance. No, Colin Baker and Holly
- 25:48Valance are not getting it on. I think they might snog in a
- 25:52minute, you know I don't. Think they do snog?
- 25:55I mean, we're a world away now from what was it sentient
- 25:58planets represented by Sophie Aldrin, aren't we?
- 26:02How is this in the same series as that?
- 26:04And. There's only.
- 26:09Three episodes? How often did they make them?
- 26:10Was it like 1A year? Pretty.
- 26:12Much, yeah, was. It for six years they were
- 26:14making this. No, because I think actually I
- 26:18think Breach of the Peace and Terry game came out the same
- 26:20year. I can't say I'm waiting every
- 26:22year. When's my next stranger script
- 26:23going to come? 93 was in memory alone and the
- 26:26air zone solution. I think they stopped for a bit
- 26:30to do after this to do. See, This is why I stopped
- 26:33wearing polos. Did you?
- 26:35Well, because that's what I look like in one.
- 26:37A bit chubby. OK, this is the BBC place again.
- 26:42Yeah, OK. I mean, it all looks, I think it
- 26:46all looks reasonably authentic. Map on the wall there.
- 26:55So Caroline John's character says there's been a lot of
- 26:59searches going on for the name Solomon, and then she outright
- 27:04asks David Trout's character, like, what does that mean?
- 27:07Are you conducting an investigation behind my back?
- 27:12Oh, look at those VHS tapes. Well, but so they they these
- 27:16VHS's have been pulled from the. Nightclub.
- 27:21Aren't they OK? Oh they are all links.
- 27:23Why? And they link the last one to in
- 27:25memory alone. Oh, she's got some personality.
- 27:34I love her. She's.
- 27:36Charismatic. Yeah, yeah, I just, I'm, I'm
- 27:40still baffled that he manages to attract the acting talent he
- 27:43does. He's an.
- 27:46Exciting talent. I don't think if he showed
- 27:50anybody program to die, he'd be able to win the world.
- 27:54Where Matt Swiss. You could be a part of this all
- 27:58right, if you get a call, what have you got a call from Bags
- 28:04and he said would you be interested in?
- 28:06I was politely declined. Executive producing.
- 28:10He can't afford me. Oh, how much you worth more.
- 28:12Than. Oh dear, This is why.
- 28:19Oh no, I've had to reveal where you live.
- 28:21Then I won't do that. He has a very nice flat
- 28:24apartment on the river. Just say that.
- 28:31What is tie? Come on, they need so I'm doing
- 28:34the same thing as the last one. They need to catch up with
- 28:35Solomon now. Yeah.
- 28:36There was a lot. Get a shift on on this.
- 28:39One they're they're specifically kept apart because both Colin
- 28:42and David were doing other productions of the theatre runs.
- 28:46So so they shot it over 10 days. They actually only needed them
- 28:50for five. It's a bit like in Flatline and
- 28:53Mummy on the Orientex Split. Excuse me, what are they
- 28:56watching on the TV? Pornography.
- 28:58Why? Oh, in the nightclub?
- 29:01Yeah. Well, were they making porn at
- 29:03the nightclub then? Well, I mean, I don't think Lou
- 29:06Lou Jay was. Oh my God.
- 29:08I. Think it was just being
- 29:10distributed. From there, I'm sorry, I never
- 29:12thought I'd see a woman getting anal on a stranger video.
- 29:15We don't know whether. She was getting.
- 29:16Anal. Something was happening behind
- 29:18her there. All right, you can.
- 29:20Go in. You can go in vaginally.
- 29:24She was being ridden like a horse in the.
- 29:29The art of metrosexual love making.
- 29:31Look. Oh my God.
- 29:34It's him shooting MIT peg. Oh no, back to the porn, back to
- 29:39the porn. Like Zygon.
- 29:42Was he getting Co production money from the porn industry?
- 29:48Where the fuck did they get that porn from?
- 29:51Did they just find the porn video and put it in there?
- 29:53I don't. Know for certain, but I'm going
- 29:54to say yes. No, the he got his wife.
- 29:59Will you just do this video, Bill?
- 30:01Bags wife he's done very well. But if this is a real flu
- 30:07station, they'll be going I. Think his wife Bill Bags is
- 30:13still with his wife at this point before she divorces.
- 30:16Him. Why does she watch his output?
- 30:20Oh, God, here we go. Oh, it's lesbian porn.
- 30:26Oh, I don't think I've not seen a lot of lesbian porn.
- 30:28Is it? Is it all like that?
- 30:30Oh. I wouldn't know.
- 30:35Imagine imagine no dock up Colin Baker's just come come up on the
- 30:39porn video not doing porn they've obviously takes over but
- 30:43imagine you're having a wank and cold Breakers face just to see.
- 30:48You are watching a woman lick another woman out.
- 30:51And then it comes to Colin's mood.
- 30:56Oh my God. Oh, it's the. 4 wheel.
- 31:03Oh, bless, Jason. All over his plate of Manny
- 31:07Callas. Steady shacked up with this
- 31:10lady. Oh look at that old keyboard.
- 31:13Don't do her close up on the tech.
- 31:17Oh Jesus Christ, I. Wonder what happened to this
- 31:21woman? I wonder what happened to this
- 31:23house. Do the current owners know know
- 31:27what perpetrated them there? I hope they've got new wallpaper
- 31:31is. There a blue plaque outside.
- 31:33Oh. Dear look, there's the A4 sheets
- 31:38on the wall to advertise. She's part of the paper there.
- 31:42It's called the Local, indeed. I mean, you can't say it doesn't
- 31:47do what it says on the team. They don't.
- 31:49Do a great job of dressing the house.
- 31:51Let's be. Honest, they don't do a great
- 31:52job of dressing her either. They all had.
- 31:55To bring their own clothes? Who?
- 31:57Did the hair and make up? I mean, it looks like she's got
- 31:59a bird nest. She probably did it.
- 32:01Holly Long, I'm so sorry for you.
- 32:03Can you have a look? I'm going to.
- 32:06Have a. Great night.
- 32:08I think she did a big finish, you know, I think she's in
- 32:12Project Twilight as the vampire lady.
- 32:15Will you have a look? Thank you.
- 32:17I'll keep talking whilst you do. Right, Caroline.
- 32:21John is now deeply suspicious of Saul and Egan.
- 32:25She knows. Oh, sorry.
- 32:26You found her. Ow.
- 32:29I've got BBV whiskey. Open.
- 32:31OK, things are calming down now because.
- 32:34Not Holly Long playing the character of Rose.
- 32:36OK, now look up Holly King in. Big.
- 32:41Finish. Big finish.
- 32:42Yeah. So she didn't think.
- 32:43Was it, Holly? It's a long.
- 32:45I think it was a Oh my God, that turned you on a bit.
- 32:50Yeah. Caroline, John getting a bit.
- 32:52Yeah. So.
- 32:55Sit down you naughty boys. Right, Holly King.
- 33:00Yeah, goes. Up in BBP, including some of
- 33:03their audios, The last mission, which is a stranger one and root
- 33:06of all evil the Lance park in. Oh, that was great.
- 33:11Then in Big Finish. Yes, Project Twilight in the.
- 33:16Shadow of the Scourge. Oh.
- 33:18Who was she in there? Annie.
- 33:20Carpenter. Oh.
- 33:21Neverland as Levith and Kingdom of Silver as Etim, and last of
- 33:26the Titans as Mrs. Burden. Wowzers, do you know I remember
- 33:31Leath from Leathe, such a chibnal name from Neverland.
- 33:38I want to see what her IMDb says.
- 33:41What? How much work she got?
- 33:42Yeah, I. Think she's making a complaint
- 33:48now against Thorne Egan for bothering her in the streets?
- 33:53She doesn't. Her credits on IMDb include The
- 33:56Stranger and her audio appearances in Doctor Who.
- 34:00OK. Sorry Holly, I hope you had a
- 34:02good stage career if you're listening.
- 34:05I'm sure she went on to do something fabulous.
- 34:07Yeah, with a better haircut. Eye open.
- 34:10She. Looks like a drama teacher so
- 34:12maybe she went on to do that. So the whole, the sort of the
- 34:15the mystery here is will they ever catch up with him?
- 34:19Yeah. Which Caroline John has now
- 34:23caught up with the fact that they're trying to catch up with
- 34:25him. Yeah, OK.
- 34:28Because they're from like Special Branch or something,
- 34:30Because that's what they say. And they've been a right pain in
- 34:33Caroline John's arse. But that's not being filmed.
- 34:39Thank. God, no one wants to see
- 34:43Caroline. He's no ohh dear.
- 34:51Although they said in that Caroline John documentary when
- 34:54she was 6062, she took on a role because she'd never been naked
- 35:01on stage and and she was always nervous to do anything like
- 35:06that. So she took on a role where she
- 35:07had to stand on stage completely naked at 62.
- 35:12Go on girl. Amazing.
- 35:18I believe it's on the dark web half.
- 35:20You'll make some. I shall make some calls for you.
- 35:25OK, Now this is a problem. I think Solomon ain't doing
- 35:28nothing in this. He's just sitting around the
- 35:32magazine drinking wine and flirting with Miss Frump.
- 35:36But he's not some. Photos Let's get back to Doctor
- 35:40Who actors in the nude. Which Doctor Who actors have
- 35:43appeared in Things in the Nude? OK, let's think.
- 35:47About it. Do you?
- 35:52Impressive. I can't remember.
- 35:55Oh, if you Google Matt Smith naked, there's those pictures of
- 36:00him in that hotel mirror. Have you seen those?
- 36:04He's very well endowed. Yeah.
- 36:05Google that on the way home. All right, all right.
- 36:09Have a bit of time with the train toilet.
- 36:11Jenna Coleman did something very early on in her career where she
- 36:14got her tits. Out.
- 36:15I saw Jenna Coleman being fucked up against a tree in Queen
- 36:19Victoria. Yeah, it didn't look like a
- 36:23stunt double, like it was really happening.
- 36:26Anyone else? Anyone else?
- 36:27I wish Sophie must have done something at some point where
- 36:31she's nude in. She's not nude.
- 36:34Is she supposed to be, though? No.
- 36:36She's got. Just because she's been covered
- 36:38up by nude Colin don't mean she's not nude.
- 36:42Is that everyone? No.
- 36:43There. Must be more.
- 36:46I mean, David Trout's nude in the last one, but.
- 36:49Doesn't he fuck with his top on? Oh no, I think it's off.
- 36:52I think he's off. But John, what more?
- 36:55Doesn't get nude though, which is an oversight frankly, I'm
- 36:57sure. If you've contacted him.
- 37:02Then I'm thinking of joining your acting school, but first I
- 37:05need to see your credentials. Katie Manning, of course, gets.
- 37:10Me with a Dalek? Yeah.
- 37:13Mary Tam, too classy. Lala Ward.
- 37:16No. What?
- 37:18No. Lala Ward.
- 37:19Didn't that vampire movie, didn't she?
- 37:20When? She's questionably young.
- 37:22I would. Say, oh, OK, Is that everyone?
- 37:27Yeah, you can tell the breach of the peace hasn't got a lot going
- 37:30on, can't you? When?
- 37:32Well, we're going through the naked actors of DID.
- 37:35We ever see Billy's Willy? I don't think so.
- 37:38There. You do see him semi nude in this
- 37:40sporting life. Oh really?
- 37:42Yeah, I. Suppose Billy Piper in Secret
- 37:45Diary of. A Oh definitely Oh my God,
- 37:48Freema Ajman in sense A. The opening scene is her pulling
- 37:53a sticky dildo out of her Fanny. Have you seen it?
- 38:01She's literally right. The opening scene is her going
- 38:04like, orgasming and then she slums, slams the dildo down on
- 38:08the side and it sort of flops wet from one side to the other.
- 38:13And that's how Sense 8 opens. You're going to buy it tonight,
- 38:17aren't you? OK, back to breach of the peace.
- 38:24OK, more footage of what went down in the nightclub.
- 38:28Yeah, and she's trying to make it better quality.
- 38:31Come on. Not Li Shaw.
- 38:33Figure it out. Don't you love at the end?
- 38:36It's not so they love it at the end, right?
- 38:38Once they've all vanished into the web or wherever they go and
- 38:42Nick Briggs comes back and she goes, well, it's all been tidied
- 38:45up by the government. We've been told not to mention
- 38:47it to anyone. And that's the end.
- 38:49Like what's how you? Do it.
- 38:51Yeah, I have a serious question. Not about naked willies and
- 39:00dildos and things. Nick Briggs is a good actor,
- 39:04isn't he? I I do think he's pretty
- 39:06accomplished. Shepherd's pie.
- 39:13That's a good diet for a Northerner.
- 39:15All right. No.
- 39:16Yeah, I do. I do think Briggs is a good
- 39:18actor and I know people take the piss out of him.
- 39:21Joe Ford, but. No, no, no, no.
- 39:24I call him out when he writes A dud script.
- 39:27I think we have to remember at this time, and I might, I might
- 39:30have said this on the earlier podcast, he was doing lots of
- 39:34acting and directing of plays at this time.
- 39:37He was a jobbing actor. I'd.
- 39:38Actually seen one of those. Yeah, me too.
- 39:41If if something comes up, if he does a play, I don't think.
- 39:43He does anything. That's a shame.
- 39:45I think he's tied up in Big Finish, yeah.
- 39:47Like the moment he started running the company, I think he
- 39:49sort of stopped. Doing that blood contract was
- 39:51for life. Yeah, exactly.
- 39:53Jason Hay Gallery owns his. Song But by all accounts, he was
- 39:56a he was a pretty good character actor like he was he was getting
- 39:59a lot of roles doing that. I just think you can see it in
- 40:02his audio performances, certainly his vocal performances
- 40:05in Doctor Who. I think.
- 40:06Oh, this is hilarious. You got these two?
- 40:10What are they? Carrying Yeah, those sites do
- 40:13not look like like a a SWAT team, do you know?
- 40:17They've got like water pistols in their hands.
- 40:20Colin's got the cheapest fish finger box you've ever seen that
- 40:23he's putting out. Supposed to be bulletproof vests
- 40:26or? Yeah, but they're not.
- 40:28That's what Mark said. They're not wearing the same 1,
- 40:30so it feels cobbled together. It's bin.
- 40:36Liners. I think Doctor Who fans, Nah.
- 40:41We're so used to Nick Briggs that whenever he shows up into
- 40:43something, we go, oh, that's Nick Briggs, not oh, that's a
- 40:46good performance. Yeah.
- 40:47And actually he's got he's got the vocal dexterity and the
- 40:51breadth of performance to be able to give quite different
- 40:54one. Well, like everyone was saying,
- 40:55they were getting a bit bored of him, like always doing the
- 40:58monster voices. And then he did that Dalek voice
- 41:00in Revolution Resolution. It was totally different, wasn't
- 41:04it? It was great.
- 41:06I heard an audio recently where he's doing an accent.
- 41:08I couldn't tell it was him. Mark said it with us.
- 41:10Nick Briggs. I went.
- 41:11No. Is it a Chinese accent?
- 41:14No, no, that was only one time. In sympathy of the devil, can
- 41:18Ioffer some fashion advice? To me.
- 41:20And I wouldn't really, I mean, look at what I'm wearing.
- 41:22I wouldn't usually do this. But Colin, stop tucking your
- 41:25shirts in. All right, Well, it's almost
- 41:28like we're accentuating weight now.
- 41:30Let. It all hang out cold ball.
- 41:34So if Caroline John now has Solomon in custody, I can't
- 41:39quite remember how he gets out. I know they, I know Saul and
- 41:42Egan go to his house and they threaten Miss Frump and say if
- 41:45you don't come with us, we're going to kill her.
- 41:51Who's Tamriel? Is he Louise Jameson?
- 41:58Yeah, that was that was one thing that I found a bit of a
- 42:04shame in these last three is that Colin is so underplayed
- 42:07throughout most of this I did miss.
- 42:11Because less about his character, because the, you
- 42:13know, Briggs is obviously trying to get away from the Doctor Who
- 42:15thing. Oh, he pushed her by the the
- 42:17face. He's a vicious bastard, isn't
- 42:19he? I know, but don't you like that
- 42:21a bit? Good character.
- 42:24I went for a drink. Did you?
- 42:28I wrote my. Book I interviewed him and we we
- 42:31met up in Camden, had a few beers, although I wasn't
- 42:34drinking at the time so I had those 3 ones.
- 42:36Should you go for another drink? Just get his number, warrior.
- 42:39It's been about 12 years. I don't think we're likely to
- 42:41have a catch up. Have you seen me?
- 42:43I'm not fussy. OK?
- 42:47Right now. How long has this got to go?
- 42:49I think only 5 to 10 minutes. Oh, OK, There's definitely a
- 42:55light source in that room because she has a very dramatic
- 42:58shadow on the wall. There we go.
- 43:00Have a brew but I'm. Instantly smoking.
- 43:06She must have been doing Caroline.
- 43:08John must have been doing a lot of performances on the stage at
- 43:11this point, I think. So.
- 43:13But does she need? She didn't need this, does she?
- 43:16No, but I again, it's that thing of it's nice to be asked.
- 43:25I don't know. I don't quite know how extensive
- 43:29her career was after she had kids.
- 43:32Well, she did the odd bit of TV, but they they said in that
- 43:38documentary, the stage was her natural home.
- 43:40And she always came back to the stage that she she felt what was
- 43:45it most comfortable when she had an audience in front of her.
- 43:49She goes it was a bit like her family.
- 43:51They're they're just very, yeah, I know.
- 43:53That to me is like hell, the foot of standing in front of
- 43:56thousands of people. I mean, we'll get to it in the
- 44:01next one as well, but Jeffrey Beavers has had a very
- 44:03interesting career. Yeah, like they all seem to say
- 44:07in their autobiographies that obviously there are fallow
- 44:10periods where, like Liz Sladen and Brian Miller, like Geoffrey
- 44:16and Caroline, if one of you is working, that's good because you
- 44:20can pay the bills, you know? If not, then you just do what
- 44:25you can. Oh, look at that.
- 44:29The chemistry between Colin and David Trouten, you know.
- 44:32It works really well, doesn't it?
- 44:34And there's too much light in this scene.
- 44:36Like they're obviously trying to go for an interrogation thing,
- 44:39but it's just you kind of need to darken the room to make the
- 44:44this work a little bit better. Was Devil Winter one was after
- 44:47this wasn't it? So the lighting?
- 44:49Do you remember the interrogation scenes with Peter
- 44:51Davison? And it's really harsh but
- 44:54brilliantly done. I think Devil is the last one
- 44:56where Bags is really trying. I mean there's bits of Cyberon
- 45:01and stuff like that, but Cyberon is definitely let the lighting
- 45:04go. By the time you get to Ghost of
- 45:05Winterbourne, it's all a bit of a.
- 45:07Yeah, I know. It's that an unnatural
- 45:09selection? Well, ghost and unnatural
- 45:13selection are literally being shot at the same time.
- 45:15Oh, OK. And like Caroline, John even
- 45:19says, like, I was wearing an outfit for one for one of them
- 45:25and he tried to make me film for the other one.
- 45:27They said no one will notice. And she was just like, I'm not
- 45:29doing that. Well, Caroline Job, yeah.
- 45:31Oh, good for her. Good for her.
- 45:34Oh yeah. I just remember reading that she
- 45:35had all of her outfits laid out and she knew exactly what she
- 45:38was wearing at each time. Because he didn't have a fucking
- 45:40clue. Like on a bigger production,
- 45:45there would be a costume supervisor who would take care
- 45:48of the continuity and also a script supervisor who would be
- 45:51making sure that. Did you see the maniacal look on
- 45:54Colleen's face when he attacked him there?
- 45:56He's fucking scary. This is not a Doctor Who.
- 45:58This isn't even Doctor Who. Who's.
- 46:00Strangled Perry. No, you can.
- 46:02Claim madness. I do like that age though.
- 46:05Yeah. But I would just like to.
- 46:07I suppose this one is trying to put him in a more gentle light,
- 46:09isn't it? In that domestic setting with
- 46:12his horrible sofa? The whole house is miserable.
- 46:17Will you stop attacking that woman, please?
- 46:23Oh my God. Now that's it.
- 46:25Colin's coming. Now we're heading for the
- 46:26finale. What a dream.
- 46:29Dylan, I could see you in that colourful tie, you know.
- 46:32I might wear a colourful tie like that, but I wouldn't wear
- 46:35the rest of the suit. Did you hear the dial up?
- 46:38Yeah, he's dialing up the web the.
- 46:42Dimensional Web. Right, but I'm.
- 46:46I'm guessing it's because he's going through local technology,
- 46:49local systems. OK, here we go.
- 46:52Oh yes, now I have to confess something that I was in fact
- 46:56cooking my dinner and a lovely gusto meal of Keema meatballs
- 47:01and turmeric white rice whilst watching the finale of this the
- 47:04other day. So I'll sort of glance.
- 47:07So this will be my first time I've seen it properly on the TV
- 47:10like this. It did seem very exciting.
- 47:13Now they were they sort of all head outside into the dark,
- 47:16taking Miss Front hostage. Holly.
- 47:19What's her name again? Holly Valance.
- 47:21Holly Kong no King. We may be the only podcaster and
- 47:28stranger, but none of it is accurate.
- 47:33And then they're basically going to murder her, aren't they?
- 47:35And to stop because she gets abused horribly.
- 47:38In a minute. It's look.
- 47:41Basically, if he doesn't go with them and show because he's the
- 47:43one that knows the way out and back into the web if he doesn't
- 47:47go with them. But I thought they went into the
- 47:50web at the end of the last one, the two of them.
- 47:54Well, they vanished into that green light.
- 47:58Oh, well, I think they need Solomon for some reason, don't
- 48:01they? Maybe because he's the cell
- 48:04leader. I think so.
- 48:06I don't know. Is this being lit now?
- 48:09This is definitely being lit, isn't it?
- 48:10That blue light? That's not moonlight.
- 48:13It's a full moon otherwise. Yeah, that's definitely being
- 48:15lit. That's quite nice actually.
- 48:21And actually look, it's on a windy night.
- 48:24Well, in later BB VS you hear the wind a lot and when they're
- 48:27on that motorway they. Met the.
- 48:31I think they're probably ABR just.
- 48:39Yeah, I reckon. She's killed someone you see
- 48:43this from? Who's she killed?
- 48:47Oh my God. Like.
- 48:48A Rd. Accident.
- 48:49She was a serial killer all along, you know, under the patio
- 48:57where we were sitting. Drinking wine earlier.
- 49:02He does love a bridge. There's a bridge in the Devil of
- 49:05Winterbourne, isn't it? That he jumps off onto the
- 49:07traffic? Yeah, he needs to.
- 49:12I'll breach of the peace Breach double meaning I'm too in love
- 49:22with Miss Frump to go through to the breach.
- 49:25We. Both love each other because.
- 49:31We're both killers. Oh my God.
- 49:33So now they are literally choking with frump to death.
- 49:36She's been lifted up off her feet by her neck.
- 49:39Well, that's a bit unpleasant, isn't it?
- 49:41But they're. Not they're not.
- 49:43Pleasant people. I'm like, oh good God.
- 49:45He'll learn to love. He will.
- 49:48Who are Eagans? Yeah, he'll learn to fuck as
- 49:51well, I'll tell you. Oh my God, that's quite a nice
- 49:54effect. Little door just appeared.
- 49:57That's a new effect I. Don't.
- 49:59What's that? What?
- 49:59The light coming through? Yeah, that's quite nice.
- 50:02Oh no, Miss Front left all on her own.
- 50:08I'll never know the love of Colin Baker again.
- 50:12I would like. This is it.
- 50:14This is. We've been told to forget about
- 50:17the whole thing, but. This is a nicely lit shot as
- 50:19well. It is, yeah.
- 50:24It starts with a well lit corridor and ends with a well
- 50:27lit corridor. In the middle, not so much.
- 50:31Over lighting and under lighting.
- 50:33This is very exiles, isn't it? We've been told not to meddle in
- 50:37this affair any further. We never know what happens to
- 50:43these people ever again. That's what I mean.
- 50:45I I while I don't know whether there was much mileage left in
- 50:49the series, it would have been nice to sort of tie things up.
- 50:53What with all of them, with every character we ever met,
- 50:55just. Sort of a bit of a through line.
- 50:59I'm sure we could have. There we go.
- 51:02So it's the ending. Is the credits rolling over?
- 51:06Nick Briggs stand against the wall, frustrated.
- 51:09Is he? Actually, look at Liz going off
- 51:11there. Also not Liz.
- 51:13Caroline, John music is so ITV police.
- 51:17Drama, Isn't it gone? Michael Duxbury Did I say I
- 51:24don't know. Why would it?
- 51:25Then I call Michael Dux? That's not a common name.
- 51:27Do you? Think you.
- 51:29Worked on these. Well, I was an administrator
- 51:31regardless. Books.
- 51:32I doubt it he ever lived in Nottingham.
- 51:34He's dead now, unfortunately. Sorry.
- 51:36I'm so sorry. Oh, that's dark.
- 51:45That is dark. A breach of the pace?
- 51:48Oh, did we not cut it there? Then?
- 51:50No. We.
- 51:53Didn't say something. I'll say that as a pilot for a
- 51:56police procedural featuring Caroline John Nicholas Briggs.
- 52:00John, what more? I mean, just a bit of tweaking,
- 52:05you know, time terrorists come along causing havoc every week.
- 52:09I'll be there for it. Well, look, well, we're heading
- 52:12next into the the grand finale. Strange where we've got to talk
- 52:19for 90 fucking minutes. No, I've got a finger if that
- 52:26helps. And that is called.
- 52:31It's called the Eye of the Beholder, and I'll tell you why
- 52:35it's called the Eye of the Beholder on a separate podcast
- 52:38very shortly. That's what I call your cock,
- 52:41Rihanna Beholder. Let's go.
- 52:44Alright, cut it there.
