- 1:50Speaker 1: T in this edition of Disguise Coverage, going a little
- 1:54Speaker 1: bit off of the beaten path and also tying this
- 1:57Speaker 1: into a bit of a program note. We will be
- 1:59Speaker 1: doing the live postgame episodes of Disguised Coverage following each
- 2:05Speaker 1: of the preseason games, including the one this upcoming Saturday,
- 2:09Speaker 1: and there we will have our normal evaluations, scheme, structure, conversations, analytics,
- 2:14Speaker 1: anything and everything that you have come to expect from
- 2:16Speaker 1: this show and this aspect here on the Cover one channel.
- 2:20Speaker 1: And so with that being said, I thought we'd do
- 2:23Speaker 1: something a little more fun for well, you know, not
- 2:26Speaker 1: more fun. I think that stuff is fun, but a
- 2:27Speaker 1: little different, I should say for the regular Tuesday night edition.
- 2:31Speaker 1: I didn't know if I was going to do a
- 2:33Speaker 1: Tuesday episode and do the postgame episode. I was kind
- 2:36Speaker 1: of weighing some things back and forth, and then I
- 2:38Speaker 1: completely forgot that Hard Knock's debut tonight at nine. So
- 2:41Speaker 1: I thought it would be fun to do a you know,
- 2:45Speaker 1: post game post show reaction to episode one of Hard
- 2:49Speaker 1: Knocks for the Buffalo Bills. So as we go through
- 2:51Speaker 1: this episode, really going to be just several takeaways that
- 2:54Speaker 1: I had from it. I'd love to make this as
- 2:56Speaker 1: interactive as possible, so for those of you joining me
- 2:59Speaker 1: live again. I know this is of a departure an
- 3:01Speaker 1: hour later. It was communicated earlier this evening, but anyone
- 3:05Speaker 1: joining us live questions, thoughts, comments, concerns, biggest takeaways that
- 3:09Speaker 1: you had from episode one of Hard Knocks. What you
- 3:12Speaker 1: thought was missing, something that you thought that they would
- 3:16Speaker 1: maybe cover in the episode that they didn't, something that
- 3:18Speaker 1: you hoped to see but didn't happen, something that you
- 3:22Speaker 1: saw that you wish you hadn't, anything and everything. Feel
- 3:24Speaker 1: free to put it into the chat. I really kind
- 3:27Speaker 1: of just want to gauge, you know, everyone's thoughts on this,
- 3:30Speaker 1: and you know, this is a we talked about it
- 3:33Speaker 1: a bit during the off season here on the show
- 3:34Speaker 1: and even in the film room, but just you know,
- 3:38Speaker 1: this is I think this is a cool thing. You know.
- 3:40Speaker 1: I think a lot of football fans have been watching
- 3:42Speaker 1: Hard Knocks for years, and if you haven't, this is
- 3:44Speaker 1: your first time watching it because you're a Bills fan
- 3:47Speaker 1: and the Bills have never been featured. You know, the
- 3:49Speaker 1: more power to you for this being your first experience
- 3:51Speaker 1: with hard knocks. But you know, as a Bills fan,
- 3:54Speaker 1: it's cool to see them continuing to get more national shine.
- 3:58Speaker 1: And you know, I know what they've been for the
- 4:00Speaker 1: previous parts of you know, their franchise history, but and
- 4:05Speaker 1: what they've been recently. And they mentioned in the episode
- 4:07Speaker 1: the five straight AFC's championships, and you know, we know
- 4:10Speaker 1: they've been to the AFC title game multiple times and
- 4:13Speaker 1: haven't been able to get over a hump. But you know,
- 4:15Speaker 1: I'm still a lot of large part of my Bill's
- 4:17Speaker 1: brain is still stuck in the drought era and not
- 4:21Speaker 1: getting national games, not really getting paid attention to so
- 4:24Speaker 1: to see, you know, what the Bills have been the
- 4:26Speaker 1: past several years, and now getting featured on a show
- 4:29Speaker 1: like this is a cool thing and something that doesn't
- 4:32Speaker 1: come around too often. So yeah, I thought this would
- 4:35Speaker 1: be fun to just kind of basket it, take it
- 4:37Speaker 1: all in and depart and divert a bit from our
- 4:40Speaker 1: regularly scheduled program here on the show again, we will
- 4:44Speaker 1: be doing a live postgame show following the Bills preseason
- 4:48Speaker 1: game for week one, two, and three of the preseason
- 4:51Speaker 1: live immediately following the conclusion of every preseason game. Bang
- 4:55Speaker 1: it here on Disguise coverage for postgame analysis, on competition,
- 5:00Speaker 1: scheme stuff, structure stuff, can't you know, battle stuff, on
- 5:04Speaker 1: the depth chart, anything and everything. We'll be getting into
- 5:07Speaker 1: the you know, regular nitty gritty after each of the
- 5:09Speaker 1: preseason games. But let's talk hard knocks. Let's have some
- 5:13Speaker 1: you know fun with this in with this conversation. Stumbling
- 5:16Speaker 1: all over myself, that should be expected, though. I usually
- 5:18Speaker 1: start to fall apart an hour into the regular Disguis
- 5:22Speaker 1: coverage episodes to start at nine, and we're starting already
- 5:24Speaker 1: an hour later, so I'm probably gonna fall apart a lot.
- 5:27Speaker 1: Let's grab some comments that we already got. Coming in,
- 5:29Speaker 1: Dan says moving to Watertown and happy to report many
- 5:32Speaker 1: and my coworkers are Bills fans. That's a win. Well done.
- 5:36Speaker 1: Zach coming in, uh saying, you know, feel great episode,
- 5:39Speaker 1: but him saying the tray white part of the episode
- 5:42Speaker 1: was amazing. Can't root for that guy more? Yeah? I
- 5:45Speaker 1: you know, I don't really have an order of things
- 5:47Speaker 1: I kind of wanted to speak on in this episode,
- 5:48Speaker 1: but I'll start with this just because Zach, you have
- 5:50Speaker 1: the first comment here. Yeah, I thought the tray piece
- 5:53Speaker 1: was really great. It was nice to see how he
- 5:58Speaker 1: was welcome back, you know within the organization, within the
- 6:01Speaker 1: fan base is granted, I was not that kind of
- 6:03Speaker 1: put a damper on things, but I don't know how
- 6:04Speaker 1: much of this is like staged and people are already
- 6:06Speaker 1: expecting him at Pits for Dairy and so cameras are rolling,
- 6:10Speaker 1: kind of people playing it up a little bit, But
- 6:12Speaker 1: I think a heavy majority of the fan base was
- 6:15Speaker 1: excited to see him come back, even just from a
- 6:18Speaker 1: nostalgia standpoint. And then, like we've talked about on the show,
- 6:20Speaker 1: how well he's done in training camp was cool to see.
- 6:23Speaker 1: And yeah, the pieces within this episode, you know, him
- 6:26Speaker 1: interacting with the kid with the water, him interacting with
- 6:29Speaker 1: Dion Dawkins's children and them kind of knowing that it
- 6:32Speaker 1: was Uncle Trey and him giving them a hug, just
- 6:35Speaker 1: him speaking with Brandon Bean, the things that Trey was
- 6:37Speaker 1: saying on camera, and kind of the talking head interview
- 6:40Speaker 1: moments on the bleachers. But one of the big ones
- 6:42Speaker 1: for me that stuck out, especially in the whole episode,
- 6:45Speaker 1: but especially with regards to Trey him getting that extra
- 6:49Speaker 1: work on the hill running after practice was already done.
- 6:54Speaker 1: I thought it was awesome to see and again, you know,
- 6:58Speaker 1: I want to put it out there just in case
- 6:59Speaker 1: someone wants to Devil's advocate and be like, oh, maybe
- 7:01Speaker 1: he's just doing it because the cameras are rolling, so
- 7:03Speaker 1: on and so forth. But Trey's always been a grinder
- 7:05Speaker 1: and an extremely hard worker. And you know, Eric and
- 7:08Speaker 1: I talked about in the film room a couple of
- 7:10Speaker 1: weeks ago. Actually I don't remember all the episodes kind
- 7:13Speaker 1: of blend together at once, for as much as it
- 7:15Speaker 1: might have been like a nostalgia thing for a lot
- 7:17Speaker 1: of Bills fan seeing Trey White come back and was like, Oh,
- 7:19Speaker 1: that's awesome. The Trey's here, And oh they took Max
- 7:22Speaker 1: Harriston in the first round, so now they got this
- 7:23Speaker 1: rookie corner and Trey is back. Trey can coach this
- 7:28Speaker 1: guy up and be a mentor and help him develop,
- 7:30Speaker 1: because Max is going to be the corner too. You know,
- 7:34Speaker 1: Trey came to the Bills and came to camp ready
- 7:37Speaker 1: to compete. He did not come to just be corner
- 7:39Speaker 1: three or corner four. He came to compete for a
- 7:41Speaker 1: starting job. And if that needed to be drilled into
- 7:45Speaker 1: our brains or reinforced or kind of put on notice
- 7:48Speaker 1: a little bit. Him getting that extra work and grinding
- 7:50Speaker 1: on that hill and doing it in full pads and
- 7:53Speaker 1: getting extra work in. I think it was just another
- 7:56Speaker 1: little nugget to show that, you know, he's here to
- 7:58Speaker 1: win a spot. He didn't come to can see that
- 8:00Speaker 1: spot to Max Harrison, he didn't come here just to
- 8:03Speaker 1: be a mentor or a veteran presence. He came here
- 8:07Speaker 1: to play football and literally play like and make plays
- 8:12Speaker 1: and earn a starting spot on this team opposite of
- 8:14Speaker 1: Christian Benford at CB one. So really cool seeing him
- 8:19Speaker 1: back in a Bill's uniform and interacting in the multitude
- 8:21Speaker 1: of ways. But yeah, that that part of the hill
- 8:24Speaker 1: I really thought was awesome. Just practice is done, getting
- 8:28Speaker 1: some extra work in, and him talking about you know,
- 8:29Speaker 1: he even mentioned it on camera saying, you know, it's
- 8:33Speaker 1: just it's just something to the tune of, you know,
- 8:36Speaker 1: anything you can do to kind of get a step
- 8:38Speaker 1: ahead of the competition, and he's there to compete. He's
- 8:40Speaker 1: there for competition, And I thought that was a great
- 8:42Speaker 1: way to highlight that and highlight him. Really really cool
- 8:45Speaker 1: to see Sophia say, and that was a Bill's Hard
- 8:47Speaker 1: Knocks LoveFest. Yeah, it felt like a really good, just
- 8:49Speaker 1: kind of intro, nice soft, nice, nice soft kind of episode,
- 8:55Speaker 1: welcoming everybody to you know, the Bill's team and Bill's
- 8:58Speaker 1: Mafia and Saint John Fisher. Yeah, it was a bit
- 9:01Speaker 1: of a love fest. I think that's fair to say
- 9:03Speaker 1: Charles A. Dionne is a national treasure. Yeah, I mean
- 9:06Speaker 1: I thought Dion Dawkins would be one of several candidates
- 9:11Speaker 1: who could be a star coming out of Hard Knocks
- 9:13Speaker 1: with how charismatic he is and how entertaining he is,
- 9:16Speaker 1: not to mention how good of a football player he
- 9:18Speaker 1: is and becoming one of the better left tackles in
- 9:20Speaker 1: the league. And yeah, that's just the interactions with him
- 9:23Speaker 1: and his family, you know, the race car stuff at
- 9:26Speaker 1: the track. He's just he's built for stuff like this,
- 9:30Speaker 1: and we've really even seen that too. I think the
- 9:31Speaker 1: past couple of seasons him starting to get more shine
- 9:34Speaker 1: nationally and he gets brought onto like you know, Good
- 9:36Speaker 1: Morning Football and different shows like that to really showcase
- 9:40Speaker 1: his personality and his charisma. And again it helps that
- 9:43Speaker 1: he's pretty good at football. And I'm saying he loved it.
- 9:48Speaker 1: Pretty clear that buffa Bill's pr had some input. I
- 9:51Speaker 1: think that's probably fair to say. I think that's fair
- 9:53Speaker 1: to say, Lauren, what's up, Lauren? Lauren says Josh Allen
- 9:55Speaker 1: highlights say less. Yeah, there was a and I mean
- 9:59Speaker 1: guy understandable but heavy, heavy, Josh Allen focused. I think
- 10:03Speaker 1: the run time for this episode is fifteen minutes. I
- 10:06Speaker 1: wonder what like the over under on Josh Allen's screen
- 10:09Speaker 1: time was or Josh Allen focus again understandably so, but yeah,
- 10:13Speaker 1: Josh Allen got a ton the opening segment, very like
- 10:16Speaker 1: the very first opening clip, the opening segment, face time
- 10:19Speaker 1: through out. Yeah, he was a heavy, heavy focal point.
- 10:22Speaker 1: I'm also interested to kind of see in that as
- 10:24Speaker 1: we go forward, like do these guys continue, you know,
- 10:28Speaker 1: do they pivot at all for episode two and three
- 10:30Speaker 1: and so on and so forth? Is it, you know,
- 10:32Speaker 1: how much stays of a focus, how much of a
- 10:33Speaker 1: focus stays on Allen and Dion and Trey? You know,
- 10:37Speaker 1: do we get more James Cook coverage in episode two,
- 10:40Speaker 1: especially depending on how this whole hold In situation drags out,
- 10:43Speaker 1: Do we get some key on Coleman, do we get
- 10:45Speaker 1: anyone else? Or do they kind of the main characters
- 10:49Speaker 1: that they highlighted in this episode. How much does it stay? Obviously,
- 10:51Speaker 1: I feel like Allen's a pretty good bet, you know,
- 10:53Speaker 1: just to continue out with that, Betray as well Dion
- 10:56Speaker 1: as well. But do they pivot how much? So? James saying,
- 10:59Speaker 1: got to try the Tray ice cream Sunday. Yeah, the
- 11:02Speaker 1: cookie with the ice cream and the fudge. I was
- 11:06Speaker 1: super jealous of everybody who lives in Rochester seeing them
- 11:08Speaker 1: go right to the Pittsford Dairy stuff. I love Pittsford Dairy.
- 11:11Speaker 1: The chocolate milk in and of itself. They have it
- 11:15Speaker 1: here locally at Wegmans in Buffalo, which is awesome, But
- 11:17Speaker 1: the chocolate milk, the ice cream, the milkshakes man that
- 11:20Speaker 1: would watching him make making the dirt with with the
- 11:23Speaker 1: oreos and chopping it all up, was super super jealous.
- 11:28Speaker 1: The Tray ice cream fundy did look good. I will
- 11:32Speaker 1: say that. Steve says they may have staged it, but
- 11:37Speaker 1: I bet a one pie pizza they would have reacted
- 11:39Speaker 1: well even without it. I'm always down to better one
- 11:41Speaker 1: pi pizza, especially if it leads to me getting a
- 11:45Speaker 1: one pie pizza. No. Gordon says, it seems like the
- 11:49Speaker 1: coaches aren't expecting much out of Trey. That surprised me.
- 11:52Speaker 2: I don't.
- 11:53Speaker 1: I don't think that it's necessarily that they aren't expecting
- 11:55Speaker 1: much out of Trey. I think it's them seeing him
- 11:58Speaker 1: be rejuvenated. Didn't even McDermott said it and being said
- 12:01Speaker 1: it in different points, you know, him being back home
- 12:04Speaker 1: and with his family and being healthy. McDermott when he
- 12:07Speaker 1: was talking to Bogoula talking about like the past you know,
- 12:09Speaker 1: year or so, he's been trending this way in his
- 12:12Speaker 1: health and he hasn't had any setbacks. I think it's
- 12:14Speaker 1: more them just being happy that he looks healthy, that
- 12:19Speaker 1: he feels healthy mentally and physically, and he looks good
- 12:23Speaker 1: out there. Like I mentioned it in Camp a bunch
- 12:27Speaker 1: and we saw it reflected in several of the clips
- 12:29Speaker 1: with him in coverage and being talked up and applauded
- 12:32Speaker 1: by I think it was called Joseph and Die, the
- 12:34Speaker 1: DB's coach, just talking about yeah Tee White. I feel
- 12:37Speaker 1: like I will hear that it echoed in my brain
- 12:39Speaker 1: for forever, him just yell the T White over and
- 12:41Speaker 1: over and over for what he was doing in coverage
- 12:44Speaker 1: and what he was doing and being assignment sound making
- 12:46Speaker 1: plays on the ball. I just I don't necessarily think
- 12:50Speaker 1: it wasn't that they weren't. To me, it didn't seem
- 12:53Speaker 1: like the coaches aren't expecting much out of him. I
- 12:55Speaker 1: think it was just they're really happy to have him
- 12:58Speaker 1: back as like a person, as a player, and seeing
- 13:00Speaker 1: him be happy to be back and look rejuvenated physically
- 13:03Speaker 1: and mentally and spiritually and everything. Yeah, I think that's
- 13:07Speaker 1: pretty awesome. Yeah, David echo in the uh uh oh
- 13:11Speaker 1: David saying I grew up going to Pittsford. Darry was
- 13:12Speaker 1: super cool to see. Yeah, I thought that was super
- 13:14Speaker 1: funny like that. I appreciate Gordon Gordon saying, make sure
- 13:17Speaker 1: y'all like in the video, yes likes of the lifeblood
- 13:19Speaker 1: of these streams. If you have not already, please please
- 13:21Speaker 1: please and thank you drop ake on this video here
- 13:23Speaker 1: on YouTube. It goes as sincerely long way to telling
- 13:26Speaker 1: myself and the entire team here cover one of track
- 13:28Speaker 1: and trend in front of more eyes and ears. Good
- 13:30Speaker 1: piece from Ryan here calling out kJ Hamler on the
- 13:32Speaker 1: kids scooter. Yeah, I felt bad for him. Wasn't getting
- 13:35Speaker 1: it rolling and then he started to like kickstarted a
- 13:36Speaker 1: little bit and get himself going, and then it started
- 13:38Speaker 1: to roll through. I didn't realize how much the scooters
- 13:41Speaker 1: were there for everyone, Like I didn't realize that like
- 13:44Speaker 1: everybody was rolling deep. And then you know, the riding
- 13:47Speaker 1: dirty soundtrack to go with it by a Millionaire was fantastic.
- 13:52Speaker 1: Interesting note hear from Charles saying zero fon Coleman in
- 13:55Speaker 1: the first episode that feels intentional. I do think it
- 13:59Speaker 1: kind of wasn't intentional, and I wonder why and how
- 14:03Speaker 1: so he was another one up there with Dawkins. I
- 14:06Speaker 1: don't think there would be any surprise, Like I think
- 14:08Speaker 1: if we were ranking like most charismatic bills, Keon's right
- 14:11Speaker 1: up there with Dion Dawkins. And how much of a
- 14:14Speaker 1: character he is and how fun and kind of enigmatic
- 14:17Speaker 1: that he is. I thought he would be one of
- 14:21Speaker 1: the candidates to come out as a big star from
- 14:22Speaker 1: Hard Knocks. But yeah, no real shine early on in
- 14:26Speaker 1: Hard Knock. So it'll be interesting to see what we get.
- 14:29Speaker 1: Eric saying so happy I still have my trade jersey
- 14:32Speaker 1: for this upcoming year. That's smart. You gotta keep them
- 14:35Speaker 1: in the closet. You never know when you might need
- 14:36Speaker 1: to dust them off again. David saying Trey White's legs
- 14:39Speaker 1: are just as skinny as mine and I work out too. Yeah,
- 14:41Speaker 1: that was funny. I think check Thompson what told Trey
- 14:43Speaker 1: and Max harriston bowl and they both do have skinny legs.
- 14:46Speaker 1: That was funny. Gordon saying was surprised it didn't highlight
- 14:50Speaker 1: many injuries. I think that's fair. I wondered if they
- 14:53Speaker 1: would touch on that a bit or maybe that's something
- 14:55Speaker 1: kind of leading in more into the second episode. But yeah,
- 14:57Speaker 1: considering how many injury there have been for the Bills
- 15:01Speaker 1: team and the significance of them, I thought it would
- 15:05Speaker 1: be covered a little bit. But we'll see James saying
- 15:09Speaker 1: loving the dice hanging out of Deonce Helmey. Yeah, all
- 15:11Speaker 1: the different stuff he has on his corn rows to
- 15:13Speaker 1: kind of wrap him at the back. I thought that
- 15:14Speaker 1: was sweet. Clifford saying, Anthony, what are your scooter skills?
- 15:17Speaker 2: Like?
- 15:18Speaker 1: I don't have scooter skills. I think I I've ridden
- 15:22Speaker 1: an electric scooter and that's fine. I think I maybe
- 15:26Speaker 1: wrote a razor scooter once when I was little, but
- 15:29Speaker 1: scooters have never really been my thing. But to each
- 15:32Speaker 1: their own. Good call here from Laura and Lauren saying,
- 15:36Speaker 1: haven't really gotten the camp bodies fighting for a roster spot.
- 15:39Speaker 1: Can't wait to see who they do end up following. Yeah,
- 15:42Speaker 1: especially as you start to get into the preseason and
- 15:45Speaker 1: even the wide receiver spots, like I'm wondering who they
- 15:48Speaker 1: start to cover there. Do they start to focus more
- 15:50Speaker 1: on the CB room, Is it the linebackers, is the
- 15:53Speaker 1: defensive line, like there's some interesting battles or did they
- 15:57Speaker 1: highlight anything with Cole Bishop trying to solidify himself the
- 16:00Speaker 1: safety spot and then getting hurt who steps into his spot?
- 16:03Speaker 1: You know, I think that'll be really interesting. You know,
- 16:06Speaker 1: it's funny too when I was talking with my wife
- 16:09Speaker 1: about how more intense Hard Knocks used to be when
- 16:13Speaker 1: when the training camp cut down rules were different, you
- 16:16Speaker 1: had to cut down more people after each preseason game
- 16:19Speaker 1: than you do now, And how each Hard Knocks episode
- 16:22Speaker 1: was so stressful because they follow you know, as you know,
- 16:25Speaker 1: like that and a lot of people, like the handful
- 16:27Speaker 1: of those you know, rookies or udfa's or anybody kind
- 16:30Speaker 1: at the bottom of the depth chart trying to make
- 16:32Speaker 1: the team, and you knew that after every preseason game
- 16:35Speaker 1: there were gonna be like significant amount of cuts and
- 16:37Speaker 1: those episodes where you know, whoever it was from the team,
- 16:41Speaker 1: like team manager or whatever, had to go and knock
- 16:43Speaker 1: on somebody's dorm and be like, yeah, like coach wants
- 16:44Speaker 1: to see you, like bring your playbook, and you just knew, like, oh,
- 16:47Speaker 1: like that's like the death sentence for that dude, and
- 16:50Speaker 1: you develop it, you'd like you'd like him as if
- 16:52Speaker 1: you're watching a show or a movie, you'd feel goot
- 16:54Speaker 1: it that like some dude was about to get cut
- 16:56Speaker 1: who you watched for several episodes or you know, got
- 16:58Speaker 1: attached to earlier in the episode. And yeah, it's a
- 17:01Speaker 1: little different now with how the training camp cut down
- 17:03Speaker 1: rules are different in the preseason, but yeah, there's gonna
- 17:06Speaker 1: be some competition on this bills Forster, especially with all
- 17:08Speaker 1: the injuries, it's kind of created a vacuum that someone's
- 17:11Speaker 1: gonna be able to have the opportunity to seize. So
- 17:13Speaker 1: I'm very interested to see what happens there. Good call
- 17:16Speaker 1: lorn Eric saying wonder if the Kyrone deal with La
- 17:19Speaker 1: makes a deal with Cook more likely. I think it depends,
- 17:23Speaker 1: you know, not to get into too much of like
- 17:26Speaker 1: real football and scheme stuff here. But yeah, what's interesting
- 17:30Speaker 1: with Kyrien Williams is that I you know, Cook is
- 17:32Speaker 1: a better runner, much more juice. Kyn Williams gives you
- 17:36Speaker 1: the opportunity to see more snaps, and he's on the
- 17:38Speaker 1: field board just because he's you know, an adequate runner,
- 17:42Speaker 1: an adequate pass catcher, and a good pass protector as
- 17:46Speaker 1: a running back, So he's good enough to get the
- 17:49Speaker 1: job done and give you quality snaps as a runner,
- 17:51Speaker 1: as a pass catcher, and as a blocker. So it's
- 17:54Speaker 1: interesting because I feel like with the ball in his hands,
- 17:58Speaker 1: Cook is much better than Kyron Willims. But Kyron gives
- 18:03Speaker 1: you more snaps and more usage in a variety of ways. Granted,
- 18:09Speaker 1: his highest highs probably aren't as high as Cooks, but
- 18:12Speaker 1: his lowest lows aren't as low either. Cook. You know,
- 18:14Speaker 1: we're still kind of waiting on that past protection aspect
- 18:18Speaker 1: in terms of him solidifying it and becoming more consistent,
- 18:21Speaker 1: whereas Kyraen's already there and one of the better pass
- 18:23Speaker 1: protecting backs in the league, again in addition to being
- 18:26Speaker 1: you know, fine as a runner and fine as a
- 18:27Speaker 1: pass catcher. So it's interesting how you know that contract
- 18:31Speaker 1: for a guy who's gotten a lot of work in
- 18:34Speaker 1: the RAMS offense in a variety of ways, versus a
- 18:36Speaker 1: guy who will see less snap share but maybe provides
- 18:41Speaker 1: more high end production, depending on how you view that.
- 18:46Speaker 1: I'm very interested to see. And again I find the
- 18:47Speaker 1: timing hilariously ironic that Kyroen's deal happened today right in
- 18:50Speaker 1: the midst of all this, or maybe not hilariously ironic,
- 18:53Speaker 1: depending on what side you're on there. Yeah, he's Lauren
- 18:57Speaker 1: with a good quote here when they're in the stadium
- 18:59Speaker 1: talking about the beer gar and everything in the new stadium.
- 19:01Speaker 1: New Stadium looks awesome on the inside, by the way,
- 19:03Speaker 1: even even seeing it last week in person, I went
- 19:05Speaker 1: to the Blue and Red scrimmage. Yeah, it just looks
- 19:08Speaker 1: like a giant alien ship. Like I don't mean that
- 19:10Speaker 1: a bad way, it's just crazy. It's just crazy to
- 19:12Speaker 1: like walk out of you know, Rich Stadium or high
- 19:17Speaker 1: Mark Stadium and like you just see this. I don't know,
- 19:22Speaker 1: it feels like the Death Star is like right there
- 19:24Speaker 1: in front of you, like it's it's it's crazy to
- 19:26Speaker 1: see that. And it was cool to see them get
- 19:28Speaker 1: some inside footage in this one and all the different
- 19:31Speaker 1: aspects and yeah, them talking about the beer garden, and yeah,
- 19:33Speaker 1: bills fans drink beer. And I think the one construction
- 19:35Speaker 1: dude was like, Oh, we're gonna try to get him
- 19:36Speaker 1: to drink it by putting these things in here. I
- 19:38Speaker 1: thought that was really funny. Charles sat I was really
- 19:42Speaker 1: hoping to hear more about thermone dynamics from Teria Google. Actually,
- 19:45Speaker 1: and this might just be me because I haven't done
- 19:48Speaker 1: a ton of like I haven't been two into like
- 19:51Speaker 1: following along with the stadium. I know some people have
- 19:53Speaker 1: been like, you know, here's week two, here's week three up,
- 19:56Speaker 1: the walls are up up, this is up, and you
- 19:58Speaker 1: know the specific of it. But I did think it
- 20:00Speaker 1: was cool, all jokes aside, like with Terry Pagoula talking
- 20:04Speaker 1: about like we scienced the hell out of it. When
- 20:05Speaker 1: it came to the wind stuff, I thought it was
- 20:07Speaker 1: cool with them talking about the wind control elements to
- 20:12Speaker 1: the new stadium and like the perforations that they have
- 20:15Speaker 1: because if not, the wind would go over and just
- 20:17Speaker 1: be sucked right down into the stadium. And then even
- 20:21Speaker 1: Alan asking I don't know, like the general contractor or
- 20:24Speaker 1: whoever it was that he was kind of talking to
- 20:25Speaker 1: and kind of running the show there for the tour.
- 20:28Speaker 1: When Alan asked, like, how much wind they'll feel in
- 20:31Speaker 1: there on the field, and the guy said, quote, very little.
- 20:33Speaker 1: He was like, we've been in here, you know, when
- 20:37Speaker 1: it's been howling outside, we haven't felt anything. I thought
- 20:39Speaker 1: that was an interesting little tidbit. And I don't know
- 20:41Speaker 1: if that's something that was widely known amongst all the fans,
- 20:44Speaker 1: especially those who have been kind of keeping tabs on
- 20:46Speaker 1: the stadium development, but I thought that was really interesting,
- 20:49Speaker 1: especially for how many people have talked about open air,
- 20:52Speaker 1: open stadium and having a dome and the wind being
- 20:55Speaker 1: a factor, and you know, put Allen in a dome
- 20:57Speaker 1: so we can throw better. I think it's interesting that
- 20:58Speaker 1: they have an open air stadium with specific, you know,
- 21:02Speaker 1: science specifications to limit the impact of wind, just based
- 21:06Speaker 1: on how they built it, the direction they built it,
- 21:08Speaker 1: the perforations, all that stuff. All jokes aside. I did
- 21:11Speaker 1: think that was pretty cool, and that was one of
- 21:14Speaker 1: my points actually tanking in just saying in this house,
- 21:17Speaker 1: we follow the laws of thermodynamics. I love it. That's
- 21:20Speaker 1: very fair. Oh and Eric saying thanks for the response.
- 21:22Speaker 1: Didn't know about Kyen's pass blacking ability. Yeah, no, thank
- 21:24Speaker 1: you for being here. I thank you for the question. Yeah,
- 21:26Speaker 1: Kyne's a good a good pass profector. And again that's
- 21:29Speaker 1: the thing, right like you've got if you're just breaking
- 21:32Speaker 1: up into three silos, right like runner, pass catcher, blocker
- 21:37Speaker 1: or pass blocker. More specifically, Cook beats him as a runner.
- 21:43Speaker 1: I think he beats him as a pass catcher, but
- 21:45Speaker 1: then he's not deficient. Yeah, I don't want to say vulnerable.
- 21:50Speaker 1: Vulnerability is probably worse. He's more deficient as a pass
- 21:53Speaker 1: blocker than he is anything, and Kyne is a plus
- 21:57Speaker 1: in that regard. So I feel like as a runner,
- 21:58Speaker 1: Kiren's like middling to I would say above middling. Same
- 22:02Speaker 1: thing as a pass catcher, but then he's towards the
- 22:04Speaker 1: tops as a pass protector, where Cook is, you know,
- 22:07Speaker 1: towards the tops as you know, a runner, little less
- 22:10Speaker 1: than that as a pass catcher, but then significantly lower
- 22:13Speaker 1: as a run blocker. So it's interesting to see how
- 22:15Speaker 1: all those things kind of great out what you're paying for,
- 22:17Speaker 1: snapshare usage rate, all that kind of stuff. Very interesting.
- 22:24Speaker 1: What else? He more comments comeing Eric saying how about
- 22:28Speaker 1: Josh explaining gravity to the offensive line? Neil de Grassei
- 22:31Speaker 1: and it would be proud. Yeah, that was very interesting
- 22:33Speaker 1: with him talking about Galileo and gravity and you know,
- 22:38Speaker 1: heaviness versus that I saw that I think in a
- 22:40Speaker 1: clip on social last week or maybe this week. I
- 22:44Speaker 1: thought that was funny. That was also one of those
- 22:46Speaker 1: ones that I wanted to know, like did he did
- 22:49Speaker 1: he prep that for that day? Because even I forget
- 22:51Speaker 1: who answered him in the huddle talking about like the
- 22:55Speaker 1: the rate of like he who said like, oh, negative
- 22:57Speaker 1: nine point eight one, and Alim was like no, not negative,
- 22:59Speaker 1: but this, and he was like meters and someone was
- 23:01Speaker 1: like squared or whatever the formula or answer was. I
- 23:04Speaker 1: wanted to know how much of that was them like
- 23:06Speaker 1: googling things that the morning of or the night before
- 23:08Speaker 1: being like hey, like tomorrow on camera, or hey I'm
- 23:11Speaker 1: miked up tomorrow, we're gonna put this out there, or
- 23:14Speaker 1: maybe that's just how they talk all the time. It's
- 23:15Speaker 1: those little nuggets that I think are interesting and fun
- 23:17Speaker 1: kind of what you hear in the huddles and in practices.
- 23:21Speaker 1: They're just dudes talking about dudes like that might be
- 23:24Speaker 1: their version of the Roman Empire. For Yeah, I thought
- 23:27Speaker 1: that was pretty funny and cool too. A couple of
- 23:30Speaker 1: little things too. Again, feel free, everybody can. Oh, I
- 23:33Speaker 1: still have the intro on because you know, probably switch
- 23:36Speaker 1: that banner because we've been talking about hard knocks for
- 23:38Speaker 1: a good chunk of time. I just never switched the banners.
- 23:39Speaker 1: I went right to comments. Keep putting those comments in there. Again,
- 23:43Speaker 1: I want to make this as interactive as possible. I've
- 23:45Speaker 1: got some notes and things myself that I'm literally like
- 23:47Speaker 1: ticking off as we have spoken throughout this episode, and
- 23:53Speaker 1: you guys are bringing up stuff in the chat. Zach
- 23:56Speaker 1: says being looks great in shades and yeah, especially when
- 23:59Speaker 1: he pairs the shades with a suit. It's very like
- 24:02Speaker 1: James Bond esque, you know, especially for a GMB. I
- 24:05Speaker 1: pulls it up. Well, could calls that good call. Yeah, Questions, thoughts, comments, concerns, likes,
- 24:09Speaker 1: dislikes from this episode. Again, I just want to make
- 24:11Speaker 1: this as interactive as possible. So yeah, anything he got,
- 24:15Speaker 1: keep throwing it up into the chat. One thing that
- 24:17Speaker 1: I did think that was great. It was arguably my
- 24:19Speaker 1: favorite thing from this episode. Granted it came kind of
- 24:22Speaker 1: for a negative the Max Hairston injury, but then after
- 24:28Speaker 1: that Christian Benford kind of pulling him for a prayer
- 24:33Speaker 1: and asking him, and I just thought, you know, him
- 24:37Speaker 1: pulling him and Harriston was clearly upset, and he kind
- 24:40Speaker 1: of put his head on his shoulder and he prayed
- 24:41Speaker 1: with him and prayed for him. I thought it was
- 24:43Speaker 1: just a really cool thing to see from Benford, especially
- 24:45Speaker 1: for a guy like Benford, who is an ascending player,
- 24:50Speaker 1: one of the best bills on the team, becoming one
- 24:53Speaker 1: of the better cornerbacks in the entire NFL, and somebody
- 24:58Speaker 1: that is I think all we're all pretty quiet, Like
- 25:02Speaker 1: in terms of a player. You don't hear him a
- 25:04Speaker 1: ton in like postgame pressers, and you don't hear much
- 25:06Speaker 1: from him as a player other than like he's on
- 25:09Speaker 1: the team, does not get any media attention nationally. Wasn't
- 25:13Speaker 1: even an honorable mention or guy that got put on
- 25:15Speaker 1: the list in that ESPN you know, ranking of the
- 25:18Speaker 1: top ten corners from NFL executives and scouts and all that.
- 25:21Speaker 1: You don't really hear, you know, a peep out of
- 25:25Speaker 1: Christian Benford. He's very much a Milford man like bike
- 25:29Speaker 1: Buster interested development. If anybody understood that reference or that
- 25:33Speaker 1: Easter egg we're right here, and I appreciate you so
- 25:35Speaker 1: much for that, But yeah, you don't really hear much
- 25:37Speaker 1: from him, and I thought it was really cool to
- 25:38Speaker 1: see him, you know, trying to, you know, boost Max's
- 25:45Speaker 1: spirits or just comfort him a little bit. I also
- 25:47Speaker 1: thought I just thought that showed leadership and compassion. And again,
- 25:51Speaker 1: he's one of the best players on this team. He's
- 25:53Speaker 1: becoming one of the better players at his position in
- 25:55Speaker 1: the league, and he's tremendously physical and violent as a player,
- 26:00Speaker 1: and it was just cool to see that leadership and
- 26:02Speaker 1: that compassion show in that moment, especially at least for
- 26:06Speaker 1: me from a guy who, Yeah, you know, I don't
- 26:09Speaker 1: really hear much about Benford or see much about Benford.
- 26:11Speaker 1: I think he's just a quiet guy who's very about
- 26:13Speaker 1: his business. That's one of the things I like about him.
- 26:15Speaker 1: He's just show up, do a good job, go home,
- 26:19Speaker 1: Show up again, do a good job, go home. I
- 26:22Speaker 1: think he goes about the game the right way from
- 26:23Speaker 1: everything I've seen. It was cool just to see, you know,
- 26:26Speaker 1: that moment in him be a leader for that group
- 26:29Speaker 1: and be a leader for Max and again show that compassion.
- 26:32Speaker 1: I really thought that was awesome. That was arguably not
- 26:35Speaker 1: even arguably. Probably that and that and Trey doing the
- 26:38Speaker 1: hills after practice were probably my two favorite things about
- 26:42Speaker 1: this episode, with the Benford thing being one. I thought that.
- 26:45Speaker 1: I thought that was super cool and really nice to
- 26:48Speaker 1: see Charles saying maybe it's just me, but Josh Palm
- 26:52Speaker 1: would look smaller than he does on film in person.
- 26:56Speaker 1: I think he looked, especially in pad. I think he
- 27:00Speaker 1: was close. But yeah, I think he maybe trimmed down
- 27:02Speaker 1: a little bit. But that's fair, that might be fair. Oh,
- 27:06Speaker 1: good call from Laura and saying, hope we get to
- 27:08Speaker 1: see Rookie Talent Night in a future episode. I forgot
- 27:10Speaker 1: about Rookie Talent Night. I'm sure we'll see. I would
- 27:12Speaker 1: like to see Rookie Talent Night, and I would really
- 27:16Speaker 1: love to see them get some camera footage of the
- 27:19Speaker 1: guys playing Catan, like that board game that they all
- 27:22Speaker 1: play and how intense it gets. I would really love
- 27:25Speaker 1: to see some of that. So I also assume we'll
- 27:28Speaker 1: see more of them really leaning into the Allen like
- 27:31Speaker 1: camaraderie thing and what he loves about camp and guys
- 27:33Speaker 1: bonding and developing a rapport and relationship. I'm assuming they're
- 27:37Speaker 1: going to show more of that, Like we got a
- 27:39Speaker 1: little bit, you know, with Trey and Benford going to
- 27:41Speaker 1: Pittsford Dairy together, but it ended up becoming more about
- 27:44Speaker 1: Trey and the whole Sunday thing. So yeah, I wonder
- 27:47Speaker 1: what we start to get, you know, if we get
- 27:49Speaker 1: more of the camaraderie pieces like the Rookie Talent Night
- 27:51Speaker 1: or anything that they're showing them, like the high jinks
- 27:54Speaker 1: in you know, the dorms, anything like that. But yeah,
- 27:57Speaker 1: I would we just seem to see something that's a
- 27:58Speaker 1: good call. I forgot about Rookie Tall and go call
- 28:01Speaker 1: a couple of little things too, is you know, you
- 28:03Speaker 1: guys potentially throw some more stuff into the chat. I
- 28:06Speaker 1: like the little stat poll at the very beginning of
- 28:08Speaker 1: the episode that Hard Knocks talked about where the Bills
- 28:11Speaker 1: are one of five teams in the NFL to still
- 28:13Speaker 1: use a college for training camp. I guess I hadn't
- 28:16Speaker 1: really thought of that, and even just training camps in general,
- 28:20Speaker 1: like how some teams kind of travel out to do it,
- 28:23Speaker 1: some teams stay local, you know, some teams just do
- 28:26Speaker 1: it indoors and in their building a facility, like the
- 28:28Speaker 1: Cardinals do. I also remember years ago when it was
- 28:32Speaker 1: under Jack del Rio still for the Jags, when back
- 28:35Speaker 1: when two days were still a thing. But the Jags
- 28:37Speaker 1: would practice like at night because they needed to practice
- 28:39Speaker 1: when the sun would go down because it was too
- 28:41Speaker 1: hot during the day to have practice during the day
- 28:44Speaker 1: because that's how intense the heat was in Jacksonville at
- 28:46Speaker 1: the time or all the time. Those little nuggets that
- 28:49Speaker 1: think are always cool. But yeah, the Bills being one
- 28:50Speaker 1: of five teams to still use a college or training camp,
- 28:53Speaker 1: I thought was interesting. The Allen camaraderie pieces we talked about. Oh,
- 28:56Speaker 1: I also like the little nuggets that we see in
- 28:59Speaker 1: the big getting kind of like what guys bring or
- 29:02Speaker 1: what guys focus on. And two of them stood out
- 29:04Speaker 1: to me and Taron Johnson would just be my spirit animal,
- 29:08Speaker 1: like essentially making sure that there's like he's got good
- 29:10Speaker 1: toilet paper there, like toilet trees. Would I think you're
- 29:13Speaker 1: just such a focus like staying anywhere or traveling anywhere.
- 29:16Speaker 1: And I think it's funny that he racked up on
- 29:18Speaker 1: his own, like whether with better quality or cleaner toilet paper, whatever,
- 29:23Speaker 1: And he pulled out the role that was on there
- 29:25Speaker 1: and he was like this won't do Like I thought
- 29:26Speaker 1: that was funny. And then uh kJ Hamler with the
- 29:29Speaker 1: pregnancy pillow. It's important to get good rest, and I
- 29:33Speaker 1: respect his dedication and commitment to that by having that
- 29:35Speaker 1: giant pregnancy pillow. That was huge. Also, this I thought
- 29:42Speaker 1: was kind of funny but also awful. Not well, the
- 29:46Speaker 1: aj have Vanessa thing with the python. He's out there
- 29:49Speaker 1: like bare hand catching eleven foot pythons in I think
- 29:53Speaker 1: of the everglades are down in Florida somewhere, which you know,
- 29:56Speaker 1: respect to you, I guess, but also like way too
- 30:00Speaker 1: much camera time for the snake and everything that happened
- 30:04Speaker 1: with And also I wanted to know, like what what
- 30:06Speaker 1: was going to happen after they caught it? Like Ajbanessa
- 30:11Speaker 1: mentioned something of like because I think the duke cutting
- 30:13Speaker 1: his hair or whatever, was like, oh did you guys
- 30:14Speaker 1: like eat it or say something? But he was like, oh, well,
- 30:17Speaker 1: like they're invasive down there, and I want to know,
- 30:19Speaker 1: like did they release it back into the wild? Did
- 30:22Speaker 1: they catch it and kill it? Like I just I
- 30:26Speaker 1: have a lot of questions around that. But that kid,
- 30:29Speaker 1: that snake got a lot of camera time, and I'm
- 30:32Speaker 1: not I'm not a fan of snakes, but respect to
- 30:34Speaker 1: him for I don't know, just going out there and
- 30:38Speaker 1: bare hand catching an eleven foot python, which sounds absolutely
- 30:41Speaker 1: terrifying to me and I would never yeah at but
- 30:45Speaker 1: sweet and hopefully that gives more confidence to kind of
- 30:47Speaker 1: just mal dudes as an edge And yeah, I don't know,
- 30:52Speaker 1: I don't know. Yeah, Charles, that's my figure. When he
- 30:54Speaker 1: was like, all they're invasively, I figured, like, yeah, that
- 30:57Speaker 1: that snake probably met its end. Unfortunate for that snake. Amore.
- 31:01Speaker 1: He says the snake is the main character for the
- 31:04Speaker 1: next four episodes. Yeah, can the snake? Can the python
- 31:08Speaker 1: you know, make the roster? You know, can he you know,
- 31:12Speaker 1: kind of battle for a spot? What does he look
- 31:14Speaker 1: like in the preseason? Oh? Okay, all right, thank you,
- 31:18Speaker 1: appreciate everybody. Everybody's coming through. Okay, very fair. Shane says
- 31:22Speaker 1: they catch and kill pythons, Okay, spend saying I think
- 31:25Speaker 1: you can make money getting rid of pythons in Florida.
- 31:28Speaker 1: I'm assuming that's tied to their invasive aspect. This is
- 31:31Speaker 1: also whether or not it's accurate or not. This is
- 31:33Speaker 1: also very much making me think of wedding crashers. And
- 31:37Speaker 1: Bradley Cooper talking about how the quails are overpopulated in
- 31:41Speaker 1: this area and decimating the grub war population. After Vincewan
- 31:45Speaker 1: calls him out and he's like, oh, mister environmental, this
- 31:47Speaker 1: is also a hunter. Yeah, they were populating this area, Jeremy,
- 31:50Speaker 1: and their decimated the grub war population. That's what I
- 31:53Speaker 1: kind of thought of with the whole snake thing. I
- 31:54Speaker 1: was like, is this like the Florida equivalent of you know,
- 31:58Speaker 1: these these quails and Maryland or wherever they were in
- 32:01Speaker 1: wedding grashers. Yeah, very fair. Well, it's been saying most
- 32:04Speaker 1: likely they kill the snakes they catch. Damn, this got intense.
- 32:07Speaker 1: This took a tark turn, but fair. I appreciate everybody
- 32:09Speaker 1: kind of following them through in the comments. I kind
- 32:12Speaker 1: of figured that was James says, he'll squeeze the talent
- 32:16Speaker 1: out of the bills. Python is a constrictor. That's very fair.
- 32:19Speaker 1: I appreciate everybody's responsiveness there, but I kind of knew
- 32:22Speaker 1: it in the back of my mind. I didn't want
- 32:23Speaker 1: to know it, but I figured I confirm it kind
- 32:26Speaker 1: of ripped the band aid off. A cool quote that
- 32:30Speaker 1: I thought was good from Sean McDermott, and also very
- 32:32Speaker 1: on brand from Sean McDermott saying you have to fail
- 32:35Speaker 1: in order to become the best that you can become.
- 32:38Speaker 1: He said that the auditorium before the first day of practice.
- 32:41Speaker 1: I thought it was a good quote and very apropos
- 32:43Speaker 1: you know, you know, learn from your failures, get better,
- 32:45Speaker 1: so on and so forth, but also just super on
- 32:47Speaker 1: the nose and on brand for who Sean McDermott is,
- 32:50Speaker 1: what Sean McDermott is. I thought that was you know,
- 32:53Speaker 1: very very well done, especially with them kind of using
- 32:55Speaker 1: that to lead into the first practice. Also within you know,
- 32:59Speaker 1: these early practice pieces, I like them highlighting the Josh
- 33:03Speaker 1: Allen and Josh Palmer, the Josh's report building and chemistry building.
- 33:09Speaker 1: I talked about this on the Film Room. I talked
- 33:11Speaker 1: about this here on this Guy's coverage. They were just
- 33:14Speaker 1: especially those first several days at camp, staying after working
- 33:19Speaker 1: with one another, talking to one another, Joe Brady talking
- 33:21Speaker 1: to Josh Palmer, and everything was about you know, you
- 33:25Speaker 1: could see just from body language and conversation that it
- 33:28Speaker 1: was you know, Palmer talking about like you know, hey,
- 33:31Speaker 1: I'm gonna release off the line like this, I'm gonna
- 33:33Speaker 1: stem my route like this, I'm gonna hit the brake
- 33:36Speaker 1: like this, and then Alan talking about, you know, when
- 33:39Speaker 1: he likes to throw the ball where he's trying to
- 33:41Speaker 1: put it. You can kind of see all that during camp.
- 33:43Speaker 1: I put out a bunch of posts and tweets about
- 33:45Speaker 1: it and talked about it on shows, and it was
- 33:47Speaker 1: cool to see that reflected in the episode and actually
- 33:50Speaker 1: being able to hear what they're doing, what they're going over,
- 33:53Speaker 1: and being able to confirm those things. And it's cool
- 33:56Speaker 1: to see the little pieces that you pick up while
- 33:58Speaker 1: at camp, no knowing or not knowing I should say
- 34:02Speaker 1: that those things are being filmed and then we'll be
- 34:05Speaker 1: talked about later on this TV show, the cool little
- 34:09Speaker 1: connections and piece they're also cool little connection. Something I've
- 34:13Speaker 1: talked about a bunch on the show. Something Eric and
- 34:15Speaker 1: I have talked about a bunch on the film room.
- 34:17Speaker 1: We talked about the disconnect within the Bills defense between
- 34:21Speaker 1: rush and coverage. So Bobby Babbage being in the defensive
- 34:26Speaker 1: film room and saying, quote, our rush and coverage have
- 34:30Speaker 1: to work together end quote. You know I used to
- 34:34Speaker 1: pray for times like this. I tweeted that out earlier.
- 34:36Speaker 1: I'm saying it again because I think it's important, and
- 34:38Speaker 1: I know that may sound like, oh, of course, like
- 34:41Speaker 1: your rush and your coverage should be like should work together,
- 34:44Speaker 1: they should be married. Like that makes sense. It does
- 34:46Speaker 1: make sense. It didn't happen a lot for the Bills
- 34:49Speaker 1: last year. A lot of their playoff failures have come
- 34:51Speaker 1: down to on the defensive side of the ball, I
- 34:53Speaker 1: should say, have come down to a lack of cohesion
- 34:57Speaker 1: and marriage between their rush and their coverage aspects. There
- 35:02Speaker 1: are coverage pieces schemes I should say, you know, guys
- 35:06Speaker 1: get pressure, but the ball's coming out in one and
- 35:08Speaker 1: a half or two seconds because the coverage is too
- 35:10Speaker 1: soft on the back end. And then the coverage is good,
- 35:12Speaker 1: but then there's no pressure and nobody's getting home and
- 35:15Speaker 1: nobody's doing anything. And that disconnect has reared its ugly
- 35:18Speaker 1: head in the playoffs for years with this Bill's defense,
- 35:21Speaker 1: and it was one of the main struggle points or
- 35:27Speaker 1: pain points I should say, when it came to how
- 35:29Speaker 1: bad the Bill's defense was on third down last year,
- 35:32Speaker 1: and especially with how bad they were on third and long,
- 35:35Speaker 1: which is third and seven, or more so, him saying
- 35:38Speaker 1: that was a major hard knocks Bengal for me literally
- 35:41Speaker 1: saying the exact thing that I've talked about on the
- 35:43Speaker 1: show that Eric and I have talked about on the
- 35:45Speaker 1: film that we wanted to see. I've spoken about it
- 35:47Speaker 1: so much on social him saying literally, quote, our rush
- 35:50Speaker 1: and coverage have to work together close quote. And then
- 35:54Speaker 1: that kind of was like gloss overuse. He was talking
- 35:55Speaker 1: about like, you know, don't hit seventeen talking about Josh Allen.
- 35:58Speaker 1: You know he's the guy that makes things go. We
- 35:59Speaker 1: don't hit him, ye yatta the need they need to
- 36:02Speaker 1: improve in that area as a defense in order to
- 36:06Speaker 1: get further farther in the playoffs, but also to not
- 36:08Speaker 1: be so awful on third down. So I was very
- 36:11Speaker 1: excited to hear him say that. Lauren saying Bobby Babbage
- 36:15Speaker 1: watching Disguy's coverage with the question mark an exclamation point. Probably,
- 36:20Speaker 1: I mean, who's not is the better question isn't is
- 36:23Speaker 1: Bobby Babbage watching Disguy's coverage? The better question is who
- 36:26Speaker 1: isn't watching Disguy's coverage? But like where your head's at? Oh,
- 36:30Speaker 1: good question from James. James says, do you think the
- 36:33Speaker 1: episode was in the can? Before James Cook sat in
- 36:38Speaker 1: I was wondering that throughout the whole episode, or or
- 36:40Speaker 1: I wonder if because also things too. I mean, I
- 36:43Speaker 1: have no idea how to like produce a show, but
- 36:45Speaker 1: I wonder if it's all tied to like also like
- 36:48Speaker 1: how much content they have for the next episode already
- 36:54Speaker 1: or what they're planning, because you're essentially kind of storyboarding
- 36:57Speaker 1: it as you go. So I mean, we're siting here
- 37:00Speaker 1: on Tuesday, August fifth. They ended with the scrimmage, which
- 37:05Speaker 1: was on what Friday, August first, So really up until
- 37:10Speaker 1: this episode tonight, you've got Saturday, which was an off day,
- 37:14Speaker 1: then you've got you've got Monday practice, and then I
- 37:18Speaker 1: believe they practiced today, so you know, you've only got
- 37:23Speaker 1: a couple of days you're still trying to storyboard and
- 37:25Speaker 1: build everything out. I think I think it was somewhat
- 37:28Speaker 1: due to the episode already being in the can. My
- 37:30Speaker 1: thought is more of them. I think they're gonna lean
- 37:33Speaker 1: into the contract holden piece for episode two. Whether by
- 37:38Speaker 1: the time episode two airs he's still in a holding
- 37:42Speaker 1: or he's signed a new deal, or he's you know,
- 37:44Speaker 1: practicing whatever. I think that's going to be the lead
- 37:47Speaker 1: in and focus for episode two. Like that contract piece,
- 37:51Speaker 1: I'm thinking maybe they got footage of him talking to
- 37:55Speaker 1: what is it, Elana Getzenberg from ESPN, who you know,
- 37:58Speaker 1: asked him, you know, how came we not practicing? He
- 38:00Speaker 1: was like all business, business and he said business like
- 38:02Speaker 1: over and over again or whatever. Maybe they got footage
- 38:05Speaker 1: of that. I'm thinking that's going to be a focal
- 38:08Speaker 1: point for episode two. That's my thought right now. John
- 38:13Speaker 1: says McDermott is adding all the episodes now. I don't
- 38:17Speaker 1: think so, No, but yeah, good question, James. I think
- 38:22Speaker 1: it was somewhat the episode was in the can again.
- 38:24Speaker 1: I don't know when they finish. You know, episode came
- 38:26Speaker 1: out tonight at nine, do they upload everything on Sundays, Mondays? Whatever?
- 38:32Speaker 1: But I do think episode two it's going to be
- 38:34Speaker 1: a focal point on James Cook and the contract situation again,
- 38:37Speaker 1: whether he signs a new deal, whether he's still holding in,
- 38:39Speaker 1: or whether he hasn't gotten a new deal but he's practicing.
- 38:42Speaker 1: I think he and his situation is going to be
- 38:44Speaker 1: a focal point in that second episode. And I also
- 38:48Speaker 1: wonder too maybe someone from HBO got his or his
- 38:50Speaker 1: agency here and was like, hey man, we need some
- 38:51Speaker 1: more content, could you like not practice that would really
- 38:53Speaker 1: be great. Also another piece that I found interesting. I
- 38:57Speaker 1: talked about it, and again I keep saying these things,
- 38:59Speaker 1: but I talking one on the show. Within camp, Trey
- 39:02Speaker 1: has looked super good in Camp. Max Harston has had
- 39:07Speaker 1: some nice moments, but he's had some high highs kind
- 39:09Speaker 1: of coupled with some of the low lows in terms
- 39:11Speaker 1: of lapses and learning experiences on the flying time on task,
- 39:14Speaker 1: which again should be expected. But I thought it was
- 39:16Speaker 1: interesting with Sean McDermott, you know, with talking to Terry
- 39:20Speaker 1: Terry Pagoula and talking about Harriston and saying, you know,
- 39:24Speaker 1: it'll be interesting to see him compete, specifically mentioning Trey.
- 39:28Speaker 1: You know that. I I guess this is probably foolish
- 39:31Speaker 1: on my part in retrospect, but I kind of just
- 39:36Speaker 1: I thought Hairston. I thought the CB two job was
- 39:39Speaker 1: Hairston's to lose. I thought he would, you know, compete
- 39:42Speaker 1: quote unquote with Tray, and I thought Trey would want
- 39:45Speaker 1: to come in and earn that spot and beat out
- 39:48Speaker 1: Harston for it. And we've seen that and it's rightfully understandable,
- 39:52Speaker 1: but just where I thought Trey was at and what
- 39:55Speaker 1: I thought they needed from Hairston. I thought it was
- 39:58Speaker 1: more of Harriston's job to lose, then it was him
- 40:00Speaker 1: beating out Trey. But Trey has gotten the Lion's share
- 40:04Speaker 1: us even before Harriston's injury. Tray has gotten the Lion's
- 40:07Speaker 1: share of snaps at CB two and then obviously more
- 40:09Speaker 1: so once Harriston went down. But I just wasn't expecting
- 40:14Speaker 1: Trey to look as good as he has in camp
- 40:17Speaker 1: and has he's done throughout camp in a variety of
- 40:20Speaker 1: coverages against a variety of dudes. And so him earning
- 40:25Speaker 1: that was again a surprise, I think, somewhat to me.
- 40:29Speaker 1: But you'll hear McDermott already talking about you know, it'll
- 40:34Speaker 1: be interesting to see him compete and everything kind of again,
- 40:36Speaker 1: I think he was cognizant of what he's saying and
- 40:38Speaker 1: how he's saying it. And they're always very particular about,
- 40:41Speaker 1: you know, everybody earning their spot. But McDermott highlighting that
- 40:46Speaker 1: right out of the gate, you know, it'll be interesting
- 40:47Speaker 1: to see him compete, talked about it in general, but
- 40:49Speaker 1: also talked about him, you know, competing with Tray in particular,
- 40:52Speaker 1: and again like I've said throughout since camp, since I've
- 40:56Speaker 1: been at camp, tweeting it and posting it and talking
- 40:59Speaker 1: about it, talking about it in episodes. This Harrison going
- 41:04Speaker 1: down obviously helps Trey lock up the CB two job,
- 41:08Speaker 1: but it was already trending in that direction before Harriston
- 41:11Speaker 1: went down. They I would say it was probably like
- 41:14Speaker 1: sixty forty you know, snaps at CB with the ones
- 41:18Speaker 1: in favor of Trey on day one, maybe a little
- 41:21Speaker 1: less on day two, but then by day four it
- 41:24Speaker 1: was probably seventy thirty or maybe even eighty twenty, Like
- 41:26Speaker 1: Trey was getting more and more work with the ones
- 41:29Speaker 1: as that starting corner opposite of Christian Benford. So it's
- 41:32Speaker 1: very unfortunate that that injury happened to Harriston, especially, you know,
- 41:36Speaker 1: even if he's not going to be CB two, you
- 41:38Speaker 1: want him to get as much reps in practice as
- 41:40Speaker 1: you can and in camp and in the preseason as possible.
- 41:44Speaker 1: You figured he was gonna get a lot of burn
- 41:46Speaker 1: in the preseason games. But I don't think his injury. Again,
- 41:51Speaker 1: you never know what can happen. You know, I'm not
- 41:52Speaker 1: speaking in absolutes here, but I do think Tray was
- 41:56Speaker 1: already trending towards CB two. Hairston went down, So I
- 42:02Speaker 1: don't think this if Tray starts week one, I don't
- 42:04Speaker 1: think it's all well because Harston went down A looked
- 42:07Speaker 1: like he already had a strong grasp on that job already.
- 42:11Speaker 1: And no, that doesn't mean that Trey sucks or Harston
- 42:15Speaker 1: sucks or Hairston sucks, because Trey is cooked and washed
- 42:18Speaker 1: and YadA YadA. Again, Trey has looked good, which is
- 42:21Speaker 1: again a testament to how hard he works and where
- 42:23Speaker 1: he's at as a player mentally and physically. Lawn says
- 42:26Speaker 1: liv Schreiber does his recordings on Sunday night, Monday morning
- 42:29Speaker 1: at the latest per article on Oh the Democrat and
- 42:31Speaker 1: Chronicle out of Rochester. Interesting copy. Oh interesting, So that's fair.
- 42:38Speaker 1: That makes kind of sense, wrap it up the end
- 42:39Speaker 1: of the week and kind of get it through. I
- 42:40Speaker 1: didn't know how close it was to like a South
- 42:42Speaker 1: Park situation where they're still submitting everything like the day of,
- 42:46Speaker 1: like Wednesday morning to the FCC in order to get
- 42:49Speaker 1: that episode cleared and played that night at ten o'clock.
- 42:53Speaker 1: Spen saying yep, Spen saying, Trey white with CB two
- 42:55Speaker 1: before Harston got hurt. That's fair Josh saying, I think
- 42:58Speaker 1: they tried to keep it simple Alan Dawkins Trey, where
- 43:02Speaker 1: the main characters introduce more of the roster as it goes,
- 43:05Speaker 1: only have so much time. I think that's a very
- 43:07Speaker 1: fair thought and a very fair point. And I'm interested
- 43:09Speaker 1: to see kind of who they start to gravitate towards
- 43:13Speaker 1: and how Again, i think Cook's going to be a
- 43:15Speaker 1: major focal point for episode two, especially with them not
- 43:18Speaker 1: even mentioning it in episode one. That makes me think
- 43:22Speaker 1: it'll be a major focal point for episode two. And
- 43:24Speaker 1: then we'll see who else is a focal point. Maybe
- 43:26Speaker 1: it's Cook and Coleman or someone else, or maybe they
- 43:28Speaker 1: keep bringing back these main characters. I think that's very fair, Josh.
- 43:33Speaker 1: And it's a cohesive, storyboarded show. It's not the stream
- 43:36Speaker 1: of consciousness and NonStop news we're accustomed too on Twitter.
- 43:38Speaker 1: Oh No, one thousand percent. I just want to know.
- 43:40Speaker 1: I'm wondering what the timeline is of that storyboard and
- 43:43Speaker 1: kind of how they put it together and when when
- 43:46Speaker 1: is an episode cut off versus what do they try
- 43:49Speaker 1: to squeeze in? And he also too, like I guess
- 43:52Speaker 1: that's where like everybody earns their money really understanding. You
- 43:55Speaker 1: know what, No, we can stop here, even if something
- 43:58Speaker 1: great happens tomorrow or the next day. We've got enough
- 44:02Speaker 1: for this episode. Let's wrap it and kind of go
- 44:03Speaker 1: from there. Let's put that other stuff that might happen
- 44:06Speaker 1: in the next days and then the next episode kind
- 44:08Speaker 1: of figuring out again. That's where you know, show running
- 44:11Speaker 1: comes into play. Josh with another comments saying, as long
- 44:15Speaker 1: as Trey and Harriston are an upgrade over Rasoul Douglas,
- 44:18Speaker 1: it's an upgrade. Simple. I think that's a fair point. Yeah,
- 44:22Speaker 1: Swell fell off last year the disappointedly, so I wasn't
- 44:26Speaker 1: expecting that type of fallof from Rasoul. But yeah, we've
- 44:29Speaker 1: noted a bunch here on the show and in the
- 44:32Speaker 1: film room. And yeah, the mileage on the tires was
- 44:37Speaker 1: really starting to show for him at at that point
- 44:42Speaker 1: last year. So I think that's a fair point with
- 44:44Speaker 1: Trey and Harriston. But yeah, overall, and again, feel free
- 44:46Speaker 1: to everybody here continue to throw comments, questions, thoughts, concerns,
- 44:49Speaker 1: everything and anything into the chat as we go forward here.
- 44:52Speaker 1: But yeah, I thought this was a really nice table
- 44:56Speaker 1: setting episode. I don't think there was anything to in
- 45:00Speaker 1: insightful or secretive or like, wow, they really gave us
- 45:02Speaker 1: a good peak behind the curtain. Thought it was very
- 45:05Speaker 1: kind of baseline. Let's set things up and see where
- 45:08Speaker 1: they go from here. I'm interested to see where they
- 45:10Speaker 1: go forward because so many of the conversation, so much
- 45:14Speaker 1: of the conversation this offseason has been around like you know,
- 45:18Speaker 1: the Bills being on Hard Knocks is interesting because the
- 45:21Speaker 1: Bills are such a tight lipped kind of organization with
- 45:24Speaker 1: how they operate and what they do. So them being
- 45:27Speaker 1: on the show, all these cameras being able to kind
- 45:30Speaker 1: of see behind the curtain, how much are they gonna
- 45:33Speaker 1: let us see behind the curtain and where and how
- 45:36Speaker 1: and all that kind of stuff. So I'm very interested
- 45:38Speaker 1: to see if what we had in this first episode
- 45:42Speaker 1: was it really just the annoying introduction and a table
- 45:44Speaker 1: setter and a baseline, or is this the level of
- 45:48Speaker 1: insight that we get within each episode? How much are
- 45:51Speaker 1: they really letting us peel layers back or be able
- 45:53Speaker 1: to see and peak behind the curtain. I think the
- 45:56Speaker 1: James Cook aspect again is going to be interesting, Like
- 45:59Speaker 1: you have a holden how much do they cover that,
- 46:04Speaker 1: how do they cover that as well? You know, what
- 46:07Speaker 1: do they say when they talk to Cook? Do they
- 46:09Speaker 1: get cook on? Are they talking McDermott or Bean and
- 46:12Speaker 1: you know any of the other players, Like how much
- 46:14Speaker 1: is really focused upon how do they spin it? You know,
- 46:17Speaker 1: as a production crew and as a show, I think
- 46:20Speaker 1: that'll be a really a really good barometer and kind
- 46:23Speaker 1: of litmus test for the peaks behind the curtain that
- 46:26Speaker 1: we're going to see in this season for the Bills,
- 46:28Speaker 1: because yeah, some some franchises are much more forthcoming than
- 46:31Speaker 1: others when it comes to, you know, letting you kind
- 46:34Speaker 1: of see under the hood a little bit. And some
- 46:38Speaker 1: coaches are very much fans of camera time and letting
- 46:44Speaker 1: themselves be seen and letting their process be seen and
- 46:47Speaker 1: their team be seen. And I don't think Sean McDermott
- 46:50Speaker 1: is one of those guys, and I don't think Brandon
- 46:51Speaker 1: Bean is one of those guys. So it'll be very
- 46:53Speaker 1: interesting to see what we get going forward with the
- 46:55Speaker 1: rest of Hard Knocks in terms of how much was
- 46:58Speaker 1: episode one just the table setter versus oh no, this
- 47:02Speaker 1: is how it's going to be, and it is more
- 47:05Speaker 1: lovy and fluff and pieces like that, and again we
- 47:07Speaker 1: have to see what storylines happen, right, like, what happens
- 47:10Speaker 1: going into week one of the preseason upcoming this weekend,
- 47:13Speaker 1: what happens in that game, what happens coming out of it? Again,
- 47:16Speaker 1: the cook piece, a lot of potential storylines there, and
- 47:19Speaker 1: I'm interested to see how much HBO pokes and prods
- 47:22Speaker 1: at those storylines, peels back the layers, how much the
- 47:25Speaker 1: Bills kind of acquiesced to that and give in and
- 47:28Speaker 1: play along with her? Do they play hardball? It'll be
- 47:31Speaker 1: really good at Connor. With another Yeah, I think kJ
- 47:34Speaker 1: Hammler on the mini scooter was a huge highlight for
- 47:37Speaker 1: a lot of folks. Based on the chat here, I
- 47:38Speaker 1: would imagine it was a good highlight in general for
- 47:40Speaker 1: a lot of folks. It was just funny. Man, poor
- 47:42Speaker 1: dude that hit that and the pregnancy pillow for him
- 47:45Speaker 1: really stuck in my brain. But yeah, I thought this
- 47:48Speaker 1: was a good episode, a fun episode. Ooh, Laurence and
- 47:51Speaker 1: curious to see if Hayley makes an appearance not just
- 47:54Speaker 1: red carpet clips. I think that's a fair question. She's
- 47:57Speaker 1: also one too that I don't see, Like, I don't
- 48:00Speaker 1: even know if they again. I'm also not like a
- 48:03Speaker 1: social media person or like their lives type of deal like,
- 48:07Speaker 1: but do they like does she live here like they
- 48:11Speaker 1: live here? She lives here, I'm assuming. I know he
- 48:13Speaker 1: built like hours or something like. So, I wonder how
- 48:16Speaker 1: much she's really around Buffalo, how much he's around training camp,
- 48:18Speaker 1: how much she kind of tries to keep low key,
- 48:20Speaker 1: if she even can. She does seem kind of like
- 48:22Speaker 1: a low key person is by the fact that she's
- 48:23Speaker 1: super famous. But yeah, that'll be interesting. I wonder if
- 48:27Speaker 1: they'll get her on at some point, maybe just a
- 48:29Speaker 1: little camera time, a little show with something very fair,
- 48:33Speaker 1: very fair question. You've done great this episode, Lauren, A
- 48:35Speaker 1: lot of good questions and good thoughts, as always as
- 48:37Speaker 1: you are one to do. Uh oh yeah, uh yeah, No,
- 48:41Speaker 1: bone's about saying you. The nod that Hamdler gave Davis
- 48:43Speaker 1: was a who. Yeah, I didn't know who he gave
- 48:45Speaker 1: the nod to when he was low on the scooter
- 48:46Speaker 1: and he looked and kind of noded. I didn't see
- 48:48Speaker 1: who it was, but the nod got me. I thought
- 48:50Speaker 1: that was good. And then they wide shotted it of
- 48:52Speaker 1: everybody kind of riding through campus. I thought that was good. Yeah,
- 48:55Speaker 1: Curtis saying cut day will be a tough watch. Absolutely,
- 48:58Speaker 1: they always are. Not as many cut days now because
- 49:01Speaker 1: everything's kind of bulked into one at the end of
- 49:03Speaker 1: the preseason, but yeah, cut days those were always the worst.
- 49:07Speaker 1: I would I hated those in hard knocks. I was
- 49:10Speaker 1: talking about it earlier. You know, when you get that
- 49:14Speaker 1: get the team manager, equipment guy, whoever it was, We're
- 49:16Speaker 1: going to knock on someone's door and just yeah, coach
- 49:18Speaker 1: wants to speak to you, bring your playbook, and you
- 49:20Speaker 1: just knew that, damn, like dude's about to get cut again.
- 49:24Speaker 1: That's it sucks to see anybody lose their job and
- 49:28Speaker 1: to have it play out in front of folks, and
- 49:31Speaker 1: then even too for like the coach to have to
- 49:35Speaker 1: cut a guy and somely fire a guy on camera.
- 49:39Speaker 1: It's just tough all around and uncomfortable all around for
- 49:42Speaker 1: the for the player, for the coach, for the viewer. Like, yeah,
- 49:45Speaker 1: cut day always sucks. I I don't want to see that.
- 49:49Speaker 1: I mean, it's cool to get again the peak behind
- 49:53Speaker 1: the curtain, but that kind of peak I'm already stressing it.
- 49:56Speaker 1: It makes me anxious and yeah, uncomfortable. But you know
- 49:59Speaker 1: what doesn't make me anxious and uncomfortable. The best pizza
- 50:03Speaker 1: in Buffalo, New York. One Pie Pizza. I don't say
- 50:08Speaker 1: they're the best pizza in Buffalo, New York because they
- 50:10Speaker 1: sponsor the show. They sponsor the show because I think
- 50:12Speaker 1: they are the best pizza in Buffalo, New York. Great
- 50:15Speaker 1: sweet sauce, pie cup and chart pepperoni, homemade blue cheese.
- 50:18Speaker 1: A catering division with a whole bunch of delicious dishes.
- 50:22Speaker 1: I've had them cater multiple events in the past couple
- 50:25Speaker 1: of years. They have all these different kinds of mac
- 50:27Speaker 1: and cheeses that are all just banging. They have this
- 50:31Speaker 1: one I tell myself to get it every time, but
- 50:33Speaker 1: it's on them. It's this like coconut rice and chicken
- 50:36Speaker 1: dish that was super good. One Pie also does a
- 50:39Speaker 1: breakfast pizza that's super good. Their food bangs in a
- 50:42Speaker 1: multitude of ways for One Pipe Pizza and for the
- 50:45Speaker 1: catering division, Elevated Catering at Buffalo, but the online menu
- 50:48Speaker 1: and website for both One Pie Pizza and Elevated Catering
- 50:51Speaker 1: a Buffalo can be found in the episode showing us
- 50:53Speaker 1: whether here on YouTube or whichever podcasting Epper platform. You're
- 50:56Speaker 1: listening to this show on. They're really good people making
- 50:58Speaker 1: really good food. I talk about all time, all the
- 51:01Speaker 1: giving back they do for the community of Buffalo, with
- 51:04Speaker 1: the SPCA, the Alzheimer's Foundation, Toys for Tots, partnering with
- 51:08Speaker 1: Roswell to try and knock out cancer. They do a
- 51:11Speaker 1: lot of good aside from just making really good food.
- 51:15Speaker 1: So if you have not gotten yourself some one Pie pizza,
- 51:19Speaker 1: if you live in the Buffalo area, get yourself from
- 51:21Speaker 1: one Pi Pizza. If you're coming up for a preseason
- 51:22Speaker 1: game or regular season game, or a trip in some
- 51:25Speaker 1: other way, shape or form, get yourself from one Pi
- 51:29Speaker 1: Pizza when you're here. RJ, who's normally in the in
- 51:33Speaker 1: the comments, I guess tonight was an off night for him.
- 51:35Speaker 1: He got some one Pie pizza. He took a picture
- 51:36Speaker 1: of it, tagged me in it. It looked awesome, and
- 51:39Speaker 1: he said it was the best pizza he's ever had
- 51:41Speaker 1: in his life. I don't think he was just saying
- 51:43Speaker 1: that because he's a harsh critic. So get yourself some
- 51:45Speaker 1: one Pie pizza. The best pizza in Buffalo, New York.
- 51:50Speaker 1: A couple more comments that came through Lawrence and Pahula
- 51:54Speaker 1: calling him Joshua Patrick Allen was like a proud dad
- 51:57Speaker 1: trying to get his son's attention. Yeah it was fair.
- 52:01Speaker 1: I definitely heard that and I was like, who called him? Then? Yeah,
- 52:05Speaker 1: that's fair, Steve saying I in all caps, I don't
- 52:08Speaker 1: think I could have watched Trey get cut. Yeah, I
- 52:11Speaker 1: can't imagine. Now. I think I think I was listening
- 52:15Speaker 1: to something earlier this well, a couple of weeks ago
- 52:18Speaker 1: or whatever, but I think being talked about that or
- 52:21Speaker 1: mentioned something about having to release Trey like last year
- 52:25Speaker 1: or whatever, and how tough that conversation was. And I
- 52:27Speaker 1: immediately went to that, like, yeah, that's god man, just
- 52:30Speaker 1: for that dude and for that organization, that's gotta be
- 52:33Speaker 1: it's gotta be tough. Yeah, that would be rough, no
- 52:37Speaker 1: bones about it. Says this roster has a lot of depth,
- 52:39Speaker 1: were likely to see some surprises on cut day. I wonder, yeah,
- 52:42Speaker 1: I wonder how much the depth guys make a push
- 52:45Speaker 1: for a solidified roster spot. And I also wonder how
- 52:47Speaker 1: much the injuries start to play a role. And you know,
- 52:51Speaker 1: just Curtis Samuel missed more time, so it gives an
- 52:54Speaker 1: opportunity to a guy like Tyrrel Shavers who maybe before
- 52:57Speaker 1: was competing with Elijah Moore for the wider five spot
- 53:00Speaker 1: or maybe not for any spot at all, but now
- 53:02Speaker 1: he's kind of just competing for the five because more
- 53:05Speaker 1: is competing for the four because Kurtis Samuel was out.
- 53:07Speaker 1: Like it's kind of just I wonder how much these
- 53:10Speaker 1: injuries linger and play, Like does anything continue along for
- 53:13Speaker 1: Cole Bishop or you know Spencer Brown with his back,
- 53:16Speaker 1: does that flare up again? What was the nature of
- 53:19Speaker 1: that injury and what kind of kept him out? Similarly
- 53:21Speaker 1: for Dawson Knox even the Cook situation SVPG being banged
- 53:27Speaker 1: up on the offensive line, Like, I think injuries are
- 53:30Speaker 1: going to be a big one in terms of you know,
- 53:32Speaker 1: who's healthy enough, but also any gamesmanship is somebody banged
- 53:35Speaker 1: up a little bit, but they're like, you know what,
- 53:38Speaker 1: we can take advantage of this and designate you in
- 53:42Speaker 1: this manner so that way we can keep an extra
- 53:43Speaker 1: guy in the roster spot and then we'll kind of
- 53:45Speaker 1: go from there. So I'm very interested to kind of
- 53:49Speaker 1: see what happens going forward. Lauren saying, do we think
- 53:53Speaker 1: we get to see Ray Davis kicking. I really sincerely
- 53:55Speaker 1: hope so I wanted in the preseason very badly, and
- 53:58Speaker 1: I am holding out hopeful. He made multiple kicks at
- 54:02Speaker 1: the scrimmage last week. When I was there, I thought
- 54:06Speaker 1: it was cool. I think it'd be a fun little
- 54:08Speaker 1: thing to see in the preseason. I kind of want
- 54:09Speaker 1: to see it happen. Also, if he could make kicks
- 54:12Speaker 1: regularly and then we get the opportunity to, I don't know,
- 54:14Speaker 1: maybe run some option football from some fake field goal looks.
- 54:18Speaker 1: Who knows, who knows, But yeah, I wonder if we're
- 54:21Speaker 1: going to see it or not. It really comes down
- 54:23Speaker 1: to just how healthy Bass is. And even if not,
- 54:25Speaker 1: I feel like maybe they probably bring in another guy
- 54:27Speaker 1: potentially to kind of just do some preseason kicking. But
- 54:30Speaker 1: I like to think that we will see Ray Davis
- 54:32Speaker 1: do some real kickings, real kickings, real kicking. Falling apart,
- 54:37Speaker 1: falling apart, Josh says. Ideally we don't have the injuries,
- 54:40Speaker 1: but the businessman in me says, one lass decision to make. Yeah,
- 54:44Speaker 1: tough nature of the business tough, tough, tough, tough, tough.
- 54:47Speaker 1: If you have not already, please please please think you
- 54:50Speaker 1: drop alke on this video before you leave here, whether
- 54:54Speaker 1: you're watching live now or watching post live here on YouTube.
- 54:59Speaker 1: I know it's late. I know we adjusted some things
- 55:01Speaker 1: and communicated it late into the evening. I didn't send
- 55:04Speaker 1: the tweet out until about eight. I had a crazy
- 55:06Speaker 1: workday that didn't allow me to get to this until then.
- 55:09Speaker 1: So I appreciate everybody for riding with me here late
- 55:13Speaker 1: on this Tuesday night and our start time past our
- 55:17Speaker 1: regularly scheduled time, and for you know, riding with this
- 55:21Speaker 1: kind of again departure from our normal, regularly scheduled content
- 55:24Speaker 1: here on Disguy's coverage. Again, if you didn't see in
- 55:26Speaker 1: the beginning, or if you're you know, tuning in, Josh says, wait,
- 55:30Speaker 1: we're not going till midnight now. I'm waxed, man, I'm
- 55:33Speaker 1: so tired. But yeah, I would, especially because we're doing
- 55:37Speaker 1: the postgame after the preseason later in this week. You know,
- 55:40Speaker 1: we're gonna get a lot of Diskuy's coverage this week.
- 55:42Speaker 1: But I appreciate for that. Buffadelphus has smashed the like
- 55:45Speaker 1: to the blueberries. Thank you very much. Oh let me go.
- 55:47Speaker 1: You know, I see some questions coming through in the chat.
- 55:50Speaker 1: I will grab these in a second as we do
- 55:52Speaker 1: this outro. As I mentioned there in the comment to Josh, again,
- 55:56Speaker 1: we will be live here on Disguis Coverage imediately following
- 56:01Speaker 1: the Buffalo Bills preseason game this week and Week one,
- 56:04Speaker 1: same thing for Week two and Week three. We have
- 56:07Speaker 1: done that for I think the last like three years.
- 56:09Speaker 1: I think this is the episode. I think this is
- 56:10Speaker 1: year three of doing it, or maybe year four where
- 56:12Speaker 1: Disgui's Coverage has done the postgame shows for all the
- 56:15Speaker 1: preseason games for the Bills, So I'm very excited for that.
- 56:19Speaker 1: I have some guests lined up for each of the weeks,
- 56:21Speaker 1: so that'll be fun. We'll again be talking about position groups,
- 56:24Speaker 1: specific players, schemes and stuff we saw on the game
- 56:28Speaker 1: and just what it means for the players for the
- 56:29Speaker 1: team going forward, anything and everything I having to do
- 56:31Speaker 1: with really breaking down the x's and O scheme and
- 56:33Speaker 1: structure of the Bills as we are normally accustomed to
- 56:38Speaker 1: here on this show. But I thought this was a
- 56:39Speaker 1: fun little departure. Also, if you enjoyed this episode or
- 56:44Speaker 1: the theme of it, let me know in the comments
- 56:46Speaker 1: here in the live chat, or get at me on Twitter,
- 56:49Speaker 1: Blue Sky, or leaving the comments on YouTube. This was
- 56:52Speaker 1: a fun episode. I would look to do it again
- 56:54Speaker 1: next week again, especially because we're going to continue to
- 56:57Speaker 1: do the postgame shows for the preseason episode. I think
- 56:59Speaker 1: this will be a fun thing to do after each
- 57:01Speaker 1: of the Hard Knocks episodes with it going on Tuesday night.
- 57:03Speaker 1: So this is something you liked, give me that feedback.
- 57:06Speaker 1: Let me know if you hated it, give me that
- 57:08Speaker 1: feedback as well. Let's all appreciate it. Grabbing this comment
- 57:11Speaker 1: here from fifty dollars Bills saying, so, if Ray Davis
- 57:15Speaker 1: is the backup kicker, will Tie Johnson be the second
- 57:17Speaker 1: running back? No, I think Davis would still say stay
- 57:19Speaker 1: is RB two and then he's more of like an
- 57:22Speaker 1: emergency kicker. I don't think it would really impact his
- 57:26Speaker 1: RB two status too much. Oh gotta stop because Lauren,
- 57:31Speaker 1: thank you so much for being here. Lauren. It's good
- 57:32Speaker 1: to see you again, especially after your departure from Twitter.
- 57:35Speaker 1: You're good people, and I appreciate you stopping by and
- 57:38Speaker 1: watching and commenting so much and kind of being like
- 57:41Speaker 1: an extra little co host for me on this episode.
- 57:42Speaker 1: So I appreciate you very much for that, and thank
- 57:44Speaker 1: you very much for the super chat. I appreciate. Lauren says,
- 57:47Speaker 1: thanks to Anthony, here's a little trade ay Sunday money.
- 57:50Speaker 1: I appreciate that. I man, I went to multiple days
- 57:54Speaker 1: of camp, but I I didn't take really full pto days,
- 57:59Speaker 1: and then I had a stuff on the Sundays that
- 58:01Speaker 1: I went No pun intended there, so I essentially came
- 58:04Speaker 1: in for camp and then bolted right back out as
- 58:06Speaker 1: soon as camp was done. But I really am upset
- 58:08Speaker 1: at myself for not stopping at Pittsford Dairy. I actually
- 58:12Speaker 1: I think I'm going back to Rochester this upcoming Sunday
- 58:17Speaker 1: to see some family. We'll probably try and stop at
- 58:20Speaker 1: Pittsford on my way back, and I will use this
- 58:23Speaker 1: for some for a trade a Sunday. I also wonder
- 58:24Speaker 1: too if I can ask for it now that the
- 58:26Speaker 1: first episode, Like, are people if people go in and
- 58:29Speaker 1: ask for that, do we think that they'll honor that?
- 58:32Speaker 1: Like if we if I if someone goes to the
- 58:33Speaker 1: front tomorrow, right they get to the register or whatever,
- 58:37Speaker 1: they get to the ordering spot and they ask like, oh,
- 58:39Speaker 1: can I have like a trade a Sunday? Like are
- 58:40Speaker 1: they gonna be like sure or are they gonna not
- 58:42Speaker 1: know what'? Stuff? I wonder if they're prepared for that.
- 58:46Speaker 1: Now I kind of want to know even more. I
- 58:48Speaker 1: was just gonna get some chocolate milk and maybe some
- 58:50Speaker 1: ice cream, But now now I feel like I need
- 58:53Speaker 1: to order the trade a Sunday and report back. Also,
- 58:56Speaker 1: if anybody lives in Rochester, go to Pittsfordairry tomorrow or
- 58:59Speaker 1: new live in Rochester. Let's let's let's figure this out.
- 59:01Speaker 1: We need to flesh this out. I like it. I
- 59:04Speaker 1: like it. I like it. I like it. Oh, thank
- 59:05Speaker 1: you very much, Josh for the the kind words. I
- 59:08Speaker 1: don't pull up things that are too positive for myself,
- 59:10Speaker 1: especially when I'm solo, because I think it's corny. But Josh,
- 59:12Speaker 1: I see your comment. That's super nice. I really appreciate that.
- 59:16Speaker 1: Thank you. Actually, because you said drop a like at
- 59:17Speaker 1: the end, Josh says, ha ha, totally get it about me.
- 59:19Speaker 1: Going to Midnight says we're spoiled with great content creators
- 59:22Speaker 1: like you all. Keep up the great work and drop alike.
- 59:25Speaker 1: Thank you very much for that. Josh. Yes, be like Josh,
- 59:27Speaker 1: drop alke on this video likes to the lifeblood of
- 59:29Speaker 1: these streams. Sincerely, they matter a lot and they help
- 59:31Speaker 1: the outgorithm a ton, same thing with comments on the
- 59:34Speaker 1: video post episode, so yes, please please do you think
- 59:38Speaker 1: you drop a like and think it for the kind
- 59:39Speaker 1: words Josh, think it for being here and all your comments.
- 59:41Speaker 1: I really appreciate it. Kebby says, do you think the
- 59:43Speaker 1: Williams signing makes Cook rethink his asking price? I really
- 59:47Speaker 1: think it depends on where he sees himself alongside Kyrien Williams.
- 59:54Speaker 1: I think if I think he already has a high
- 59:57Speaker 1: value of himself, so I don't think the ki Williams
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: contract is one that you know, bothers him too much.
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: I think Cook was looking to be in the upper
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: echelon or running back money, and I think he's going
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: to continue to look at that way. I don't think
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: Kyran Williams was somebody that was gonna make that upper
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: echelon kind of money, although he did get paid well
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: like eleven dollars eleven dollars eleven million average annual value.
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: But no, I think I think Cook is going to
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: kind of stay the course depending on what he was
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: asking for. I don't think the bills again, if that
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: is rumored, what Cook was asking for where it was
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: like fifteen million average annual value. We're sliding in right
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: behind Saquon Barkley, which I don't see the bills paying that.
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: I don't think Cook should get that, but if he
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: can get it from someone, chase that bag, do you.
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: But yeah, I think it's going to be tough. But
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: I don't think the Kyron Williams signing makes Cook rethink
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: his asking price. If anything, I think Cook sees what
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: Kyrone got and goes, oh, well, I'm better than him.
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: I should get fourteen million a year or fifteen I
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: think it might actually make him think, you know, actually
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: more solidified in his stance. Josh's point, saying, I feel
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: like both sides went perfect. This gives great this, This
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: is great leverage for us. Yeah. I think being in
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: company were like, oh, this is perfect, great leverage. And
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: I think Cook and his agent said the exact same thing.
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: I think that's very fair. So we'll kind of see
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: when it gets hashed out or when it doesn't. Yes,
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: James says, I'll let you know, Aunt trede A. Yes,
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: go let's see if this is a real, a real
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: thing that can be ordered. Now. I kind of want to.
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: I want to see if it happens and also if
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: they do grant it and give it to you, I
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: want to know if it's good or not. It looked good.
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: I mean everything Pittsford Gary does like they make their
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: is delicious, so I would imagine it's pretty good. Can
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: be saying, but their stats are similar, Williams might be
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: a little better. Different style of back, different usage, different
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: skill set, different traits, so it depends on kind of
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: what you're looking for in order to judge. We talked
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: about it a bit, actually a good chunk earlier in
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: the episode, so I don't want to rehash it too much,
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: but I think Cook is a better runner, a significantly
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: better runner. I think he's a bit of a better
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: pass catcher, more reliable, but Kyroen will James is a
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: much better and significantly better pass protector. So he gives
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: you the opportunity to be on the field more and
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: see more snaps, and he is an above you know,
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: he is a quality runner, pass catcher, and a significant
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: quality pass protector. So yeah, also stats to me, stats
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: are important obviously, but it's really more of the usage
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: and the schematic potential tied into their skill sets and
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: traits for me than it is just you know, kind
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: of the stats. But yeah, I mean, Kyriene deserve to
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: get paid. He's he sees a lot of snaps because
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: he doesn't have to leave the field because of what
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: he can do as a runner, a pass protector, and
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: as a pass catcher, even though he might not be
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: elite and anything, although he is a very good pass protector. Again,
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: I keep saying that, because he is serve to get paid.
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: You got it, So we'll see. I hope you folks
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: enjoyed this episode. Again, if you're watching live or watching
