- 0:00Speaker 1: Now back to the Mark Simo show on woor.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Hey, let's take some calls. Eight hundred three two one
- 0:09Speaker 2: zero seven ten is the number. Let's go to Aaron
- 0:12Speaker 2: in Indianapolis erin how you doing, good.
- 0:16Speaker 3: Morning, Mark? Speaking of Andrew Pomo, would it be possible
- 0:21Speaker 3: to replace him with Perry Como?
- 0:24Speaker 2: Well, that'd be great if for those of you under
- 0:28Speaker 2: eighty five, Perry Como was one of the greatest television
- 0:32Speaker 2: stars ever. He was a great singer, but the biggest star,
- 0:36Speaker 2: biggest variety show in the late fifties early so he
- 0:38Speaker 2: was a big, very nice guy. Lived at Long Island
- 0:42Speaker 2: Sands Point. And you remember Perry Como? Are you a
- 0:46Speaker 2: fan of his?
- 0:49Speaker 3: I was from walking him on TV with my dad.
- 0:53Speaker 2: Oh, okay, so that while you're from back then, actually
- 0:57Speaker 2: remember I'm trying to remember. Yeah. It was was at
- 1:01Speaker 2: a party. I'm standing there with Joe Namath and Matilda
- 1:06Speaker 2: Cuomo comes over, wife of Mario, and says hello to me,
- 1:10Speaker 2: and I introduced her. I said, Joe Namath, this is
- 1:12Speaker 2: Matilda Cuomo. I swear to God. And he says, your
- 1:16Speaker 2: husband was the greatest singer ever. I said, no, no, Cuomo,
- 1:21Speaker 2: Quoma not como. But she laughed, she said, I get
- 1:24Speaker 2: that a lot. Let's go to uh Rich in Myrtle Beach, Rich,
- 1:28Speaker 2: How you doing pretty good?
- 1:30Speaker 3: Just sitting around the pool. Finally got the sleep of
- 1:31Speaker 3: the windows open last night. We got a nice little
- 1:33Speaker 3: cool snap down here. We finally got a trade of
- 1:35Speaker 3: Joe's opened up this past Tuesday as well, so everybody
- 1:38Speaker 3: was excited. It wasn't it u, No, that was quite out.
- 1:41Speaker 2: It's Myrtle Beach. It's like also in any suburb if
- 1:44Speaker 2: anything opens, they line up for one hundred miles. They
- 1:47Speaker 2: get all excited about anything. If you opened something, you
- 1:51Speaker 2: could open a trader Joe's right here, fifty sixth Street,
- 1:53Speaker 2: everyody go what the hell away? But in the suburbs
- 1:56Speaker 2: they will line.
- 1:57Speaker 3: Up well, lined up around the block, get poor and
- 2:00Speaker 3: rain on Tuesday morning. It was hysterical. It wasn't it
- 2:03Speaker 3: the Channel four that screwed Curtis last year in the debate.
- 2:06Speaker 3: Did he make any preps to have certain rules that
- 2:09Speaker 3: he's allowed to speak more than thirty seconds this time around?
- 2:12Speaker 2: Yeah, that's a good point. Channel four rigged the mayoral
- 2:14Speaker 2: debate last time. He early allowed a thirty second answer,
- 2:17Speaker 2: which of course is not enough time to give a
- 2:19Speaker 2: full answer, and they were trying to protect Eric Adams.
- 2:22Speaker 2: They thought he wouldn't be too articulate. And then the
- 2:24Speaker 2: whole second section yes or no answer only, which is idiotic.
- 2:28Speaker 2: It's just preposterous to have yes or no answers in
- 2:31Speaker 2: the debate.
- 2:32Speaker 3: And hous Curtis made any kind of points or any
- 2:34Speaker 3: kind of you demands on how the debate's supposed to
- 2:36Speaker 3: be run.
- 2:37Speaker 2: Well, if you'll recall, he was on the show a
- 2:38Speaker 2: couple weeks so I said all this to him. He said, yeah,
- 2:41Speaker 2: I'll be taking care of him, so I'm sure he will.
- 2:44Speaker 2: I'm sure he will. Actually, I think they're always trying
- 2:47Speaker 2: to help, knowing Channel four, they always trying to help
- 2:49Speaker 2: the Democrats. So, mom, Donnie's a very articulate guy. He
- 2:53Speaker 2: has no problem in to debate. So I'm sure they'll
- 2:55Speaker 2: loosen up the rules, let people actually talk this time.
- 2:58Speaker 2: And Cuomo is terrible a debate, you know, Mom donne.
- 3:01Speaker 2: He's a fast talker. He talks like this and he
- 3:03Speaker 2: sounds like he knows what he's talking about. And Curtis
- 3:05Speaker 2: is a professional debate for thirty years. Cuomo talks so
- 3:10Speaker 2: slow that compared to these two guys, he's gonna look
- 3:14Speaker 2: ridiculous in this debate. Let's go to Jay in New Jersey. Jay,
- 3:18Speaker 2: how you doing?
- 3:19Speaker 3: Yeah? He Mark?
- 3:20Speaker 4: You know about the sombreros. I just think that you
- 3:23Speaker 4: know what's great about that, you know, is that is
- 3:26Speaker 4: that the Democrats, just like you know, when Kamala Harris
- 3:30Speaker 4: and Hillary Quinton put on fake accidents, if if Deem
- 3:34Speaker 4: Jefferies were to court the Hispanic vote, he would probably
- 3:37Speaker 4: put on a sombrero, the same way they chose Tim
- 3:40Speaker 4: Wall to appeal to men's So this this joke has
- 3:43Speaker 4: a lot of truth to it, and I don't think
- 3:45Speaker 4: they realize you that that it does.
- 3:47Speaker 2: Yeah, well, the whole fight is over paying for illegal
- 3:50Speaker 2: aliens health care. That's why the Mexican stuff. But again,
- 3:53Speaker 2: the Democrats invented this sombrero stuff. They did it to Trump.
- 3:56Speaker 2: They called it Taco Trump. They started these means all this,
- 4:00Speaker 2: and but Trump does you know, you can start trolling Trump,
- 4:03Speaker 2: but he's better at trolling than you are. Now, the
- 4:06Speaker 2: argument is, it's a president United States. He should not
- 4:08Speaker 2: be making silly jokes like this with memes. And I
- 4:12Speaker 2: don't know, I don't know We're in a different world now.
- 4:14Speaker 2: I mean, it is kind of WWE kind of a presidency,
- 4:17Speaker 2: but it's twenty twenty five. You're in a different world now.
- 4:21Speaker 2: He's not Eisenhower, he's not Harry Truman. He's he's a
- 4:24Speaker 2: modern day guy. Let's go to Jim in New Jersey. Jim,
- 4:28Speaker 2: how you doing, Mark?
- 4:30Speaker 1: Speaking of the Yankees. You don't have they got the
- 4:32Speaker 1: name the New York Yankees. No, well, they were the
- 4:36Speaker 1: turn of the last century. They were the New York
- 4:39Speaker 1: Highlanders because they played way up in Manhattan. Yeah, and
- 4:43Speaker 1: circa nineteen twelve nineteen thirteen, in the off season they
- 4:47Speaker 1: would go down south and play exhibition games. Now we're
- 4:50Speaker 1: still very wrang. This is less than fifty years after
- 4:53Speaker 1: the Civil War. So the residents would down they would say, oh,
- 4:56Speaker 1: here come those Yankees from the North. They changed the
- 4:59Speaker 1: names of the Yanks.
- 5:00Speaker 2: That's actually a very good story, very good.
- 5:02Speaker 1: Oh thanks, Mark, have a good weekend.
- 5:05Speaker 2: Thanks for calling. Yeah. Well, yeah, they still they all
- 5:09Speaker 2: go south for obviously spring training and Florida and Arizona
- 5:14Speaker 2: and all those places. So playoffs begin, first game Yankees
- 5:18Speaker 2: Toronto tomorrow afternoon, four o'clock. Now, remember it used to
- 5:23Speaker 2: be when did the season end? It was like October second,
- 5:27Speaker 2: the season would end always that was it final. And
- 5:30Speaker 2: then the World Series is start like October fourth for
- 5:33Speaker 2: one week and that was the World Series. Now you
- 5:36Speaker 2: got a division playoff, section playoff of this playoff that playoff.
- 5:40Speaker 2: Remember they used to call Reggie mister October because he
- 5:43Speaker 2: had really hit in the World Series. Mister October. That
- 5:48Speaker 2: doesn't mean anything anymore, you know, it's mister November. Now
- 5:52Speaker 2: they have to actually change the name. So and it's
- 5:55Speaker 2: hard to believe we're already in the postseason. But hey,
- 5:59Speaker 2: when we come back, doctor Arthur Perry will be with us,
- 6:02Speaker 2: the great plastic surgeon. I think, is he coming in person?
- 6:07Speaker 2: We love the guy and it's always good. Yeah, he's
- 6:09Speaker 2: coming in person. Yeah. I don't like when they come
- 6:13Speaker 2: in person.
- 6:14Speaker 3: You know.
- 6:14Speaker 2: For first of all, I mean, I love the guy.
- 6:16Speaker 2: He's a great plastic surgeon. But when he's looking at you,
- 6:19Speaker 2: you can tell he's looking at you, going huh, I
- 6:21Speaker 2: could fix that. Oh, look at that. I need to
- 6:24Speaker 2: fix that. They just look at the wader. It's like
- 6:26Speaker 2: the contractor when he looks at your house, he wants
- 6:28Speaker 2: to fix everything in there, so we'll talk to him next.
- 6:31Speaker 2: If you got any plastic surgery questions or things you
- 6:34Speaker 2: always wanted to know but didn't want to be seen asking,
- 6:37Speaker 2: we'll do it next on seven to ten wor
