- 0:00Speaker 1: The film turn to feel all right Field talent to
- 0:07Speaker 1: under the weather, time to feel all right.
- 0:11Speaker 2: Well, here he is the barbarian that runs the Wine
- 0:14Speaker 2: Academy of Utah, Wine Academy of Utah dot com. It's
- 0:17Speaker 2: Jimmy Santangelo. He's here to Uh, well, we're gonna talk
- 0:21Speaker 2: about some Cockcaan cocktails. I think in a minute, Yeah,
- 0:24Speaker 2: this is this. We're just springing this on you.
- 0:27Speaker 3: Uh.
- 0:27Speaker 2: Somebody sent this to us through the mail. Apparently this
- 0:30Speaker 2: guy sat with you at lights camera brunch. Yes, didn't
- 0:34Speaker 2: really have time to talk to you, you were busy.
- 0:36Speaker 2: But he says, the Danny trey hoo tequila is for
- 0:40Speaker 2: Jimmy Santangelo. My wife and I sat near him at
- 0:44Speaker 2: the brunch, and I oh, and I asked him if
- 0:46Speaker 2: he was familiar with Danny trey Hooe's spirits. I've been
- 0:49Speaker 2: sober for uh, as I say, three years, And I
- 0:52Speaker 2: really like Danny Trejo's take on a non out because
- 0:56Speaker 2: because tray ho is, he's he doesn't bring.
- 0:58Speaker 1: He doesn't drink us. So this is not alcoholic tequila,
- 1:01Speaker 1: non alcoholic tequila.
- 1:02Speaker 2: Yeah, and you said, I like it, and I would
- 1:05Speaker 2: like Jimmy's opinion.
- 1:07Speaker 1: Of yeah, let's taste it. This is, you know, is
- 1:10Speaker 1: there more to it?
- 1:10Speaker 4: No, just the non alcoholic category has just exploded.
- 1:16Speaker 1: Beer, spirits, wine. The wines are really on there.
- 1:20Speaker 4: They're really hitting their stride, especially the sparkling and the whites.
- 1:23Speaker 4: The red's another generation away in terms of production, not family.
- 1:30Speaker 4: The beers athletic brewing, fantastic, really good, and the spirits
- 1:36Speaker 4: have really come a long way. And we were talking
- 1:39Speaker 4: the gentlemen, I were talking the gins, the clear non
- 1:42Speaker 4: alcoholic spirits, the gins the tequila in this case, because
- 1:47Speaker 4: you can just use a nice neutral bass and then
- 1:50Speaker 4: add those natural aromatics in flavors and things like that,
- 1:54Speaker 4: all right, Whereas when you get into the whiskeys and
- 1:57Speaker 4: something of the brown spirits, now you're adding joe, you're
- 2:00Speaker 4: adding caramel, you're adding you know, and it tastes a
- 2:03Speaker 4: little mimicky or candy.
- 2:07Speaker 1: Okay, so this is the non alcoholic tequila. I'll pass
- 2:10Speaker 1: it now, I can't.
- 2:12Speaker 2: This is I think his first name is Daniel. His
- 2:14Speaker 2: handwriting is kind of Daniel Jesse. Yes, it's there's a
- 2:18Speaker 2: card in here, Daniel Jesse. Okay, yeah, good. So so
- 2:23Speaker 2: anyway you wanted your opinion this. You do a segment
- 2:26Speaker 2: on a class or something on alohol non alcoholic.
- 2:29Speaker 4: But yeah, we do a comparative, so we'll have a
- 2:32Speaker 4: side by side of the non alcoholic compared to it's
- 2:36Speaker 4: alcohol based partner.
- 2:37Speaker 1: Now, this is non alcoholic. I don't know why you.
- 2:40Speaker 2: I don't know why you gave me so little it's
- 2:43Speaker 2: non alcoholic.
- 2:44Speaker 3: I mean, let's see, now I had to I had
- 2:48Speaker 3: to swirl a little bit to get some aramatic. Yeah,
- 2:50Speaker 3: it wasn't giving anything off until I disturbed it.
- 2:53Speaker 4: So there's one way that you can really emphasize, uh
- 2:56Speaker 4: that you reset your nose. You can kind of smell
- 2:59Speaker 4: the back of your hand kind of resets it. Put
- 3:01Speaker 4: your hand over the glass, swirling your glass, trapping in
- 3:04Speaker 4: those aromatics, popping your hand in so well, little jilipino,
- 3:10Speaker 4: a little pepper spicy in there, and then there's a
- 3:15Speaker 4: there's a kind of a floral citrus floral.
- 3:19Speaker 3: H If you were to hand this to me and
- 3:24Speaker 3: and not say anything, I would not guess this was tequila.
- 3:27Speaker 1: Honestly, it seems like something else.
- 3:29Speaker 3: It seems like something else.
- 3:30Speaker 4: Well, peppery, Yeah, this I think is a this is
- 3:35Speaker 4: reminds me of the trio peppercorn we used to work.
- 3:38Speaker 1: We used to use when I worked at a steakhouse.
- 3:40Speaker 4: We would use white pink and black pepper, and you
- 3:43Speaker 4: know that and that spice. This reminds me of that
- 3:48Speaker 4: that white pepper spice. The Jlipino's coming. I like the
- 3:53Speaker 4: flavor of this is intented for a cocktail. This is
- 3:56Speaker 4: intended for a mixer, not anything neat, not as a criticism,
- 4:00Speaker 4: as a category, as something and how to Okay, what
- 4:03Speaker 4: am I gonna do when I get this? And most
- 4:05Speaker 4: people aren't drinking tequila blanco neat anyways?
- 4:09Speaker 1: Uh? And you you are doing as a mixer.
- 4:12Speaker 4: I can see this working really well with a little
- 4:15Speaker 4: bit of a city touch a suite. Definitely as a margarita.
- 4:18Speaker 4: You know, you have your mixers things like that. That
- 4:20Speaker 4: pepper will really pop through.
- 4:22Speaker 2: And he knows how to Danny Trey Hill knows how
- 4:24Speaker 2: to market because he's He's put a picture on the
- 4:27Speaker 2: label a really good looking guy which is Dan.
- 4:31Speaker 3: It's just called Tres Spirits.
- 4:34Speaker 1: Yeah, Treho spirits Spirits.
- 4:36Speaker 4: You know, he's a real giving guy. And I'm the
- 4:39Speaker 4: packaging here. Everything good that's ever been given to me
- 4:43Speaker 4: has been a direct result of helping someone else. So
- 4:47Speaker 4: he's yeah, so he's created this to help those that.
- 4:54Speaker 1: Don't given a second chance. You know, it's true.
- 4:57Speaker 2: He has a whole change of taco yes too, you
- 5:02Speaker 2: kid need him to open one here.
- 5:03Speaker 1: Yeah, I hear. It's quite good. You never have too
- 5:06Speaker 1: many taco stanks.
- 5:07Speaker 4: Never.
- 5:07Speaker 1: He's been on our show a couple of times.
- 5:08Speaker 2: He's he's a gregarious Oh yeah, very very gregarious.
- 5:12Speaker 1: That's fun. That's fun.
- 5:13Speaker 4: Well, thank you to the listener. Thank you Daniel for
- 5:17Speaker 4: sending us. I do remember our conversation. Thank you so
- 5:19Speaker 4: much for getting this on my palate. I really appreciate it.
- 5:23Speaker 3: And we will send this to Pete hegseeth immediately. Yeah,
- 5:27Speaker 3: because he's not going to be drinking on the job exactly.
- 5:31Speaker 3: So thanks a lot.
- 5:32Speaker 2: Oh and when you did the pepper when you were
- 5:34Speaker 2: at the steakhouse, did you have one of those like
- 5:36Speaker 2: ridiculously large peppers frinders?
- 5:38Speaker 4: So sometimes I mean they're like the size of your
- 5:41Speaker 4: arm over your shoulder.
- 5:43Speaker 1: We stole it did for what restaurant?
- 5:47Speaker 3: Now?
- 5:47Speaker 1: From the w hotel. Oh, it's a story, all right,
