- 0:00Speaker 1: It's only about three hundred more weeks of him to
- 0:03Speaker 1: get through, and then you'll be fine. Got to keep
- 0:07Speaker 1: clearing my throat. I'm not sick, I just my nose
- 0:10Speaker 1: has been stuffed up for a week and a half.
- 0:12Speaker 1: It's just this ridiculously cold weather. It's gonna be in
- 0:14Speaker 1: the forties today, fifties later this week in Alaska. Remember
- 0:21Speaker 1: the Remember a couple weeks ago we had all that
- 0:22Speaker 1: snow on a Friday. Remember Bridgeport seven inches long, Island
- 0:28Speaker 1: seven inches. It was harm seven inches through this weather Alaska.
- 0:34Speaker 1: This is just the past couple of days. Seven feet
- 0:37Speaker 1: of snow, seven feet of snow. You know here, if
- 0:41Speaker 1: you get an inch, there's already a school closings immediately Alaska.
- 0:44Speaker 1: You got to get to about ten feet before they
- 0:46Speaker 1: close the schools there. So we'll get to Venezuela, we'll
- 0:49Speaker 1: get to Greenland, we'll get to Tim Waltz, we'll get
- 0:52Speaker 1: to CBS News. They're getting a lot of flat. They've
- 0:54Speaker 1: been cleaning up the evening News, trying to make it
- 0:57Speaker 1: less corrupt, and they're getting a lot of fla. Hey,
- 1:00Speaker 1: we'll get to that crazy George Conway who's running for
- 1:03Speaker 1: Congress we'll get to mom. Donnie Hey. Speaking of getting
- 1:06Speaker 1: a lot of flack, this Hilton story did not get
- 1:09Speaker 1: a lot of coverage. But you know, there's Hilton is
- 1:12Speaker 1: a great hotel chain. You got Hilton hotels all over
- 1:15Speaker 1: the place, and there's one in the Minnesota where you know,
- 1:20Speaker 1: ICE when they go into these cities, you don't realize
- 1:23Speaker 1: all the logistics that are required. And I forget arresting
- 1:25Speaker 1: the criminals, the criminal illegals, just the logistics of getting
- 1:31Speaker 1: them all there. If you want to send one hundred
- 1:33Speaker 1: ICE agents there, you got to move them there. All
- 1:36Speaker 1: their equipment, everything, their vehicles, everything has to be moved there.
- 1:40Speaker 1: And then you got to find a hotel for them
- 1:41Speaker 1: to stay in. So in every city they have to
- 1:44Speaker 1: book one hundred hotel rooms. Although well, government likes to
- 1:48Speaker 1: waste money. But although it might be you know, they
- 1:51Speaker 1: double up, so it's fifty hotel rooms, two in a room, whatever.
- 1:55Speaker 1: But in Minneapolis they used here it is again in Minneapolis,
- 2:00Speaker 1: they used a Hilton hotel to have the ICE agents stay, well,
- 2:05Speaker 1: the local Hilton hotel employees. You know, it's a Minnesota
- 2:10Speaker 1: and they were crazy left wing, childish democrats, woke democrats,
- 2:15Speaker 1: so they found out these were Ice people coming to
- 2:17Speaker 1: stay in the hotel, so they canceled the reservation and
- 2:21Speaker 1: informed Ice that they were not welcome to stay in
- 2:23Speaker 1: this Hilton hotel. Well, you can't do that, of course,
- 2:29Speaker 1: that's ridiculous. Now, it's not the fault of Hilton the corporation.
- 2:34Speaker 1: It's these employees in this local hotel, and it turns
- 2:38Speaker 1: out it's not owned by Hilton. You know, many of
- 2:40Speaker 1: these hotels are owned and built by Hilton, but a
- 2:43Speaker 1: lot of these hotels you stay in were just built
- 2:45Speaker 1: by the local guy who built a hotel and then
- 2:48Speaker 1: he makes a deal with Hilton to come in and
- 2:50Speaker 1: run it and put their name on it. It's a
- 2:52Speaker 1: franchise you can buy, so you can build yourself a
- 2:55Speaker 1: beautiful hotel and then you get Marriott to be the
- 2:59Speaker 1: name on it and run it. You have to make
- 3:01Speaker 1: a partnership franchise agreement with them. In this case, it
- 3:04Speaker 1: was Hilton. So Hilton looked into this and they immediately
- 3:08Speaker 1: withdrew the franchise. They fired this local owner and hotel.
- 3:11Speaker 1: They took their name off the hotel. They will have
- 3:14Speaker 1: nothing to do with this hotel anymore. It's against their
- 3:16Speaker 1: policy to discriminate against people because of their race, or
- 3:20Speaker 1: because you don't like the way they look, or you
- 3:22Speaker 1: don't like their politics. You can't discriminate and refuse to
- 3:26Speaker 1: give them a room. So Hilton has withdrawn the franchise.
- 3:30Speaker 1: They will have nothing to do with Hotel anymore. So now,
- 3:32Speaker 1: of course, the left wing cooks are all going after Hilton,
- 3:36Speaker 1: denouncing Hilton, writing about Hilton. Here's one of these left
- 3:39Speaker 1: wing cooks. Hilton was trying to protect people from government
- 3:44Speaker 1: thugs who separate people from their families. They separate families.
- 3:49Speaker 2: Well.
- 3:49Speaker 1: First of all, every law enforcement agency in the world
- 3:54Speaker 1: separates families. The New York City police separate families. The
- 3:58Speaker 1: Minneapolis police separate whenever anybody's arrested. If they arrest a woman,
- 4:02Speaker 1: say a mother, and they arrest her and have to
- 4:06Speaker 1: arrest her, take her in handcuff her, take her to jail.
- 4:08Speaker 1: That you can't bring your kids with you. You're separated.
- 4:10Speaker 1: The kids have to stay with a relative or something,
- 4:13Speaker 1: or if there's nobody, they go into child services. But
- 4:17Speaker 1: every law enforcement agency separates families. Every arrest, families are separated.
- 4:23Speaker 1: So Hilton getting a lot of flack. Now, you know,
- 4:26Speaker 1: who else is getting a lot of flax. CBS News
- 4:28Speaker 1: because the new woman in charge, Barry Weiss, decided to
- 4:33Speaker 1: clean up the corruption over there and try to make
- 4:36Speaker 1: it a little more fair and balanced. So normally you
- 4:39Speaker 1: watch the CBS Evening News, all they do is denounce
- 4:42Speaker 1: the President, denounce the administration, call them all kinds of names.
- 4:45Speaker 1: Whatever they do, it's awful. So the new CBS News
- 4:50Speaker 1: under Berry Weiss, they put in a new anchor. This
- 4:52Speaker 1: guy's pretty good. It's off to a rough, rocky start,
- 4:55Speaker 1: but he's pretty good. He'll he'll slowly, you know, he
- 4:58Speaker 1: actually get some pretty good ank. This David Muher, you know,
- 5:02Speaker 1: might be a little slanted, but he's a sharp look
- 5:05Speaker 1: and it's a great newscast. The ABC Evening News and
- 5:08Speaker 1: the new NBC News anchor. I can't remember his name,
- 5:11Speaker 1: Tom Yamas. That's his name, Tom Yamas. He's actually I
- 5:15Speaker 1: like Lester Holdy was a nice guy. Totally corrupt on
- 5:17Speaker 1: the air, totally biased, but he's a nice guy. This
- 5:20Speaker 1: guy's sharper, better, quicker, and the same thing with CBS.
- 5:23Speaker 1: This guy's pretty good. But they've decided to make the
- 5:27Speaker 1: newscast fair. So every night they'll go after the Trump
- 5:30Speaker 1: administration a little with the language because it's still being
- 5:33Speaker 1: written by CBS newswriters. But they'll be fair, they'll put
- 5:36Speaker 1: the other side. On the first night of this new guy,
- 5:40Speaker 1: he gave Pete Hegxith three segments on the New three
- 5:43Speaker 1: segments on the Evening News to respond. And then it
- 5:47Speaker 1: was Marco Rubio one night. They brought him on live
- 5:49Speaker 1: and whatever they said bad about Trump, they put on Rubio,
- 5:52Speaker 1: let him respond. And then Christy Nome, whatever the attack was,
- 5:55Speaker 1: they then put went to her, put her on live
- 5:58Speaker 1: on the news and let her respond. That's the fair
- 6:01Speaker 1: thing to do, so you're supposed to do so. CBS
- 6:04Speaker 1: News getting all kinds of flak from left wing critics
- 6:06Speaker 1: now attacking them like crazy. Here's one the call says it.
- 6:10Speaker 1: Now it's become Fox News light. They're shilling for the administration,
- 6:16Speaker 1: just giving the other the other side of chance to respond.
- 6:19Speaker 1: That's shilling for the administration. So uh, changes are happening.
- 6:25Speaker 1: And remember this is only the first year of Donald Trump.
- 6:27Speaker 1: Give them two three years and we'll see what happens. Now,
- 6:32Speaker 1: all this Greenland talk, you know, I feel bad for
- 6:34Speaker 1: the Democrats. This is costing them a fortune. You know,
- 6:37Speaker 1: they all had to go out and buy Ukrainian flags
- 6:40Speaker 1: to wave around. And then all the trouble in Israel
- 6:44Speaker 1: they had and they had to go out and you know,
- 6:46Speaker 1: get rid of the flags. They had to go out
- 6:47Speaker 1: and buy a Hamas flags and Palestinian flags to wave around.
- 6:51Speaker 1: I mean every second they got to buy a new flat.
- 6:53Speaker 1: Then ice they had, all these liberals had to go
- 6:56Speaker 1: buy Mexican flags, and now they all got to go
- 7:00Speaker 1: buy Venezuelan flags. You know, they're spending a fortune on flags.
- 7:03Speaker 1: Had I known this was going to happen, I would
- 7:05Speaker 1: have bought stock and flag companies a couple of years ago.
- 7:09Speaker 1: But it just you go into any left wing kook
- 7:12Speaker 1: woke democrats home, there's a closet now filled with different flags. Hey,
- 7:16Speaker 1: by the way, a lot of this stuff, these protests
- 7:19Speaker 1: are funded organized. They're not organic or natural. Many of
- 7:24Speaker 1: them paid for by Soros and those other oligarchs. The
- 7:28Speaker 1: Democrat oligarchs like Soros fund them. Nicole what's his name,
- 7:32Speaker 1: Reid Hoffman. Reid Hoffman. So the president and the administration
- 7:38Speaker 1: for they've hinted at this, but for the first time
- 7:40Speaker 1: ever they said they're looking at going after them harmit.
- 7:43Speaker 1: Dillon and others in the Department of Justice now talking
- 7:46Speaker 1: about conspiracy charges against them. When you see what looks
- 7:50Speaker 1: supposed to be just an organic protest that happened all
- 7:53Speaker 1: of a sudden over Venezuela, they all two hundred of them,
- 7:59Speaker 1: have all the same equipment. They have the same exact
- 8:01Speaker 1: signs from the same printer, and they're real high quality,
- 8:05Speaker 1: glossy printed signs, really expensive. Well, so this is all
- 8:09Speaker 1: being funded by these Soros type zillionaires. But now they're
- 8:12Speaker 1: talking about rico charges, conspiracy charges funding protests, so finally
- 8:19Speaker 1: something may be done about that. So the Venezuela talk.
- 8:23Speaker 1: Now here's the other thing. The President talking about Greenland
- 8:25Speaker 1: taking over Greenland, hinting at the military go in there
- 8:28Speaker 1: and sees Greenland. He's not going to do that. It's
- 8:31Speaker 1: not going to be the military. First of all, the
- 8:35Speaker 1: military seizing Greenland. A boy Scout troop could take over
- 8:39Speaker 1: Greenland in about half an hour. I mean, it would
- 8:41Speaker 1: take twenty minutes to seize Greenland. So what he wants
- 8:44Speaker 1: is to buy it from Denmark. Denmark owns Greenland. And
- 8:48Speaker 1: there was a time a while back where they were
- 8:51Speaker 1: actually kind of interested in talking about it because the
- 8:54Speaker 1: price was going to be billions of dollars for Greenland
- 8:57Speaker 1: and they needed the money. Denmark's economy in trouble, a big, huge, huge,
- 9:03Speaker 1: huge deficit and debt. Well, one of the things that
- 9:06Speaker 1: saved them was that ozempic because apparently some of the
- 9:09Speaker 1: original whatever it is from ozempic made in Greenland in Denmark,
- 9:15Speaker 1: and they've made a fortune off it, which made up
- 9:17Speaker 1: a lot of their deficit. But US wants Greenland, they'd
- 9:22Speaker 1: like to buy it. They'd like to work out an
- 9:23Speaker 1: agreement to buy it and pay for it and then
- 9:25Speaker 1: own it. But that's the reason for all this invasion
- 9:28Speaker 1: military to it's just negotiating, just negotiating. There's no chance
- 9:33Speaker 1: of actually invading Greenland or taking it over. But it's
- 9:37Speaker 1: a very valuable thing for the US. It's very important,
- 9:40Speaker 1: crucial military base for US, crucial as far as shipping lanes.
- 9:44Speaker 1: It has all kinds of defense strategic reasons why we
- 9:48Speaker 1: need to have Greenland. Also, it's filled with valuable minerals
- 9:52Speaker 1: and stuff. So it's a win win to take Greenland.
- 9:55Speaker 1: And Denmark really doesn't need it for any defense purposes
- 9:58Speaker 1: or strategic purposes or military base purposes, and then there's
- 10:02Speaker 1: always the fear for all those same reasons that the
- 10:05Speaker 1: Russia or somebody else could take it over President Trump.
- 10:09Speaker 1: You know, remember Joe Biden, remember him, And maybe once
- 10:13Speaker 1: a year he tried to do a press conference and
- 10:16Speaker 1: they'd call on three people where they were already picked beforehand,
- 10:20Speaker 1: questions and answers written out right in front of Joe.
- 10:23Speaker 1: And they had to put a big card with the
- 10:27Speaker 1: reporter's name so Joe could call on him, and the
- 10:29Speaker 1: reporter's picture so he'd recognize them. And they used a
- 10:32Speaker 1: real big font you know, so Joe could see it.
- 10:36Speaker 1: Those are the old days. Now it's President Trump every
- 10:38Speaker 1: two seconds of press conference, anytime he's walking in the hall,
- 10:40Speaker 1: anytime the reporter's there, he'll answer questions, he'll talk to
- 10:45Speaker 1: them on They all have a cell number. They can
- 10:47Speaker 1: call him anytime. Hundreds and hundreds of these reporters have
- 10:50Speaker 1: a cell number. Even this crazy Joe Scarborough, right after
- 10:54Speaker 1: Venezuela or the Greenland stuff started, he said he called
- 10:57Speaker 1: the President Trump and talked to him for twenty minutes Greenland.
- 11:01Speaker 1: I mean, that's how open he is. He'll talk to
- 11:04Speaker 1: Joe Scarborough on the phone for twenty minutes. But wherever
- 11:07Speaker 1: he is, you immediately can talk to him. He'll answer questions.
- 11:11Speaker 1: You see, even when he's on the plane, he'll come
- 11:13Speaker 1: out of the private cabin and answer questions for a
- 11:15Speaker 1: half hours. So anyway, the whole thing is it's a
- 11:19Speaker 1: winning situation in Venezuela. And he talked about that, you
- 11:23Speaker 1: got to win the midterms. Oh, okay, the midterms. Now
- 11:26Speaker 1: this is the other thing. How does this affect the midterms? Well,
- 11:31Speaker 1: gas prices will come down even more. They've come down dramatically. Hey,
- 11:35Speaker 1: By the way, it's another side issue. Gas has come
- 11:38Speaker 1: down to two fifty a gallon, two seventy five a gallon.
- 11:41Speaker 1: It was four dollars under Joe bidden It's now two
- 11:43Speaker 1: fifty everywhere except New York, and except California. It's two
- 11:50Speaker 1: fifty everywhere you go in the country. Two seventy five.
- 11:53Speaker 1: In New York it's still four dollars, four to fifty.
- 11:55Speaker 1: California it's five. Nobody is you have totally corrupt meat.
- 12:00Speaker 1: Otherwise they'd be all over these two governors at demanding
- 12:03Speaker 1: to know why they haven't let the gas prices come down.
- 12:05Speaker 1: The reason hasn't come down here, the state will just
- 12:09Speaker 1: add the taxes to make up for it and keep it.
- 12:12Speaker 1: So gas prices are way down all over America with Venezuela.
- 12:16Speaker 1: Now we're going to get fifty million gallons immediately of
- 12:20Speaker 1: their oil. That'll bring down prices even more. A lot
- 12:24Speaker 1: of the drilling that started is starting to kick in.
- 12:26Speaker 1: So also, you're going to have the tax cuts take
- 12:29Speaker 1: effect now finally, since New Year's Day, they're now in effect.
- 12:33Speaker 1: People to get more money in their paychecks. So that's
- 12:35Speaker 1: going to help Republicans in the midterm, and that's important.
- 12:39Speaker 3: You got to win the midterms because if we don't
- 12:41Speaker 3: win the midterms, it's just going to be I mean,
- 12:46Speaker 3: they'll find a reason to impeach me.
- 12:48Speaker 1: Yeah, there'll be an impeachment a week. But on the
- 12:51Speaker 1: other hand, when they do their remember first term was
- 12:54Speaker 1: an impeachment once every year, every spring. This will be
- 12:57Speaker 1: every month, and then they'll totally devalue the whole idea
- 13:00Speaker 1: of impeachment will mean nothing after a while. Now, the
- 13:02Speaker 1: only time bomb there is a healthcare costs. Obamacare turns
- 13:07Speaker 1: out to be totally unworkable. In fact, they called it
- 13:11Speaker 1: the Affordable Care Act. All it did was drive prices
- 13:13Speaker 1: up like crazy, which was to be expected. Anytime you
- 13:17Speaker 1: take anything out of the private sector and have the
- 13:19Speaker 1: government run it, it gets much more expensive. And it
- 13:22Speaker 1: got so out of control that they had to start
- 13:24Speaker 1: giving subsidies to pay for it. It's the Affordable Care Act,
- 13:28Speaker 1: but it's so unaffordable you have to have a government
- 13:31Speaker 1: subsidy to be able to afford it. So that expired.
- 13:34Speaker 1: Now they're going to have possible you know, one of
- 13:37Speaker 1: those shutdown talk things again at the end of the month.
- 13:42Speaker 1: Democrats want to just keep the subsidy going forever, just
- 13:47Speaker 1: subsidize it. President Trump, being a logical businessman types as well,
- 13:51Speaker 1: why don't we fix it so it actually is affordable,
- 13:54Speaker 1: privatize a lot of it, make it more efficient, get
- 13:58Speaker 1: all the crazy, you know, crazy corruption and complication out
- 14:03Speaker 1: of it, and make it simple. And I mean, that's
- 14:06Speaker 1: the logical thing to do. But Democrats don't want that.
- 14:09Speaker 1: So healthcare will be crucial in the midterms. We could
- 14:11Speaker 1: have had.
- 14:11Speaker 3: Healthcare good healthcare. Obamacare is bad and the people understand
- 14:15Speaker 3: it's bad, and the premiums are horrible. But one thing
- 14:19Speaker 3: I've learned, I've learned a lot about healthcare. I found
- 14:22Speaker 3: healthcare so sort of like, not of tremendous interest, but
- 14:27Speaker 3: it was very important.
- 14:29Speaker 1: Yeah, so again all day long. You can talk to him.
- 14:33Speaker 1: Reporters can talk to him anytime, ask him anything. Now
- 14:36Speaker 1: he's a more important issue. You know how he does
- 14:37Speaker 1: that dance and aver there's music, he starts dancing. So
- 14:42Speaker 1: he was asked about that. This is interesting. Now, his wife,
- 14:45Speaker 1: Malania is a very dignified, very elegant woman, and there
- 14:48Speaker 1: he is dancing, and he was asked about it.
- 14:51Speaker 3: My wife hates when I do this, she said. You know,
- 14:55Speaker 3: she's a very classy person. Right, she said, it's so presidential,
- 15:02Speaker 3: he said, but I did become president somebody she hates
- 15:05Speaker 3: when I dance. I said, everybody wants darling. It's not presidential.
- 15:12Speaker 1: Well, okay, that's true, but ninety percent of what he
- 15:15Speaker 1: does isn't presidential. He breaks all the rules and he
- 15:19Speaker 1: knows how to do it and be successful at it.
- 15:21Speaker 1: But I can understand her saying that.
- 15:23Speaker 3: She said, could you imagine after you are dancing? She
- 15:27Speaker 3: said that to me, and I said, there's a long
- 15:32Speaker 3: history that perhaps she doesn't know. Because he was an
- 15:38Speaker 3: elegant fellow, even as a Democrat.
- 15:41Speaker 1: Right, yeah, but again, I've known Donald Trump, I don't know,
- 15:46Speaker 1: thirty five years and the decades before he was president.
- 15:50Speaker 1: It was all the same thing as a top big
- 15:53Speaker 1: business guy in New York real estate. Everybody in that
- 15:56Speaker 1: world was why does he have to be Why does
- 15:58Speaker 1: he have to do that? Why does he have to
- 15:59Speaker 1: behave like it? You know how to back? Doesn't he know?
- 16:01Speaker 1: So this has been gone on his whole life. He's
- 16:03Speaker 1: perfected this system of breaking all the rules. His instincts
- 16:07Speaker 1: are great. He makes it work. Hey, coming up, we'll
- 16:09Speaker 1: get to George Conway, this crazy nutjob Democrat wants to
- 16:14Speaker 1: run for Congress here in New York. We'll get to
- 16:16Speaker 1: that and more. Coming up, we'll take some calls. Next
- 16:20Speaker 1: eight hundred three to two one zero seven ten is
- 16:23Speaker 1: the number. Eight hundred three two one zero seven ten.
- 16:28Speaker 1: Go to Adam in New Jersey. Adam, how you doing? Adam?
- 16:34Speaker 4: Hello?
- 16:35Speaker 1: Yeah? We did wake you did? We?
- 16:36Speaker 5: Yes?
- 16:37Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 16:37Speaker 5: No? No, no, no no no how are you?
- 16:39Speaker 1: Let me check? Not bad anytime? Just jump in whenever
- 16:44Speaker 1: you feel like it.
- 16:46Speaker 5: Okay, run am I on there ready or.
- 16:49Speaker 1: It sounds like around something, but.
- 16:53Speaker 5: All right, So this is Mark.
- 16:55Speaker 1: Let me see Mark. Listen.
- 16:56Speaker 5: I'm glad you're there. But I heard that China and
- 17:01Speaker 5: Russia have already pay Venezuela and oil right for the
- 17:05Speaker 5: fields for oil rights in the fields of Venezuela. Did
- 17:10Speaker 5: they get their money back or what's your thoughts on that?
- 17:14Speaker 1: Well, I don't think it's like Amazon where you can
- 17:15Speaker 1: just send it back and get the refined.
- 17:18Speaker 5: No.
- 17:18Speaker 1: Well, there's another reason we went into Venezuela. You have
- 17:20Speaker 1: all sorts of Russia, China, Iran, Cuba, everybody in there
- 17:26Speaker 1: doing god knows what it was like the axis of
- 17:29Speaker 1: evil all over again. That's another reason to break all
- 17:31Speaker 1: that up. Let's go to Mike in Florida. Mike, how
- 17:34Speaker 1: you doing.
- 17:35Speaker 4: Good morning, Mark.
- 17:36Speaker 1: Yes, Mike.
- 17:37Speaker 4: The Democrats are very good at controlling the language. So
- 17:41Speaker 4: there's always the equal such and such, you know, the
- 17:44Speaker 4: Act and the fair so and so law. And affordability
- 17:48Speaker 4: is the current one. And the funny thing is, you
- 17:50Speaker 4: know what's not as affordable as it once was? Everything?
- 17:53Speaker 4: I mean, you know, you watched Andy Grifford Show, and
- 17:56Speaker 4: you know a haircut was fifty cents last time I
- 17:58Speaker 4: went to get a haircut down here far seventeen dollars
- 18:01Speaker 4: and it's a number two once around the head. You know,
- 18:03Speaker 4: it's like, you know, not even any.
- 18:05Speaker 1: Yeah, no, that's true of old TV. You know, you
- 18:07Speaker 1: watch a TV show from nineteen sixty and the guy says,
- 18:10Speaker 1: I'll give you a five hundred dollars. You know, you
- 18:12Speaker 1: don't realize that's like ten thousand today. So but no,
- 18:16Speaker 1: that's a good point. Yeah, this affordability is an interesting thing. Obviously,
- 18:20Speaker 1: it's always about the economy. You remember when Bill Clinton
- 18:23Speaker 1: ran and carvill famously said, it's the economy, stupid, It's
- 18:27Speaker 1: always the economy. But Democrats last year did extensive testing
- 18:33Speaker 1: with focus groups, seriously, and they came on the word
- 18:37Speaker 1: affordability in the focus groups and it tested through the roof.
- 18:42Speaker 1: So they zero it in on that word affordability, affordability.
- 18:46Speaker 1: And it's not that they're so good at messaging. It's
- 18:48Speaker 1: just the corruption where the every inch of media, anchors, newspaper,
- 18:53Speaker 1: they're all in cahoots with them. And if they drill
- 18:57Speaker 1: it into your head over and over and over and
- 19:00Speaker 1: you start to believe it, affordability crisis. If that's all
- 19:02Speaker 1: you see day and night, everywhere you turn, affordability crisis.
- 19:06Speaker 1: You'll start to think there's an affordability crisis. You know,
- 19:09Speaker 1: they did that with Curtis in the race.
- 19:12Speaker 5: Uh.
- 19:12Speaker 1: You know, Curtis had as good a chance as Mam
- 19:14Speaker 1: Donnie in the beginning. I mean, if you look at
- 19:16Speaker 1: these two guys on paper, Mam Donnie never had a
- 19:19Speaker 1: job twelve years old. I mean, on paper, this guy
- 19:22Speaker 1: has no chance. But they kept doing that over and over.
- 19:25Speaker 1: Twenty four to seven. All you heard was Curtis can't win.
- 19:27Speaker 1: CURTI Yeah, well Curtis is great, but he can't win.
- 19:29Speaker 1: He can't win, he can't win. Well, after a while
- 19:31Speaker 1: people start to believe this. Let's go to uh, let's
- 19:34Speaker 1: go to Vincent and Brooklyn. Vincent, how you doing.
- 19:36Speaker 6: I'm doing good, Mark, Mark. Every time I hear his
- 19:39Speaker 6: word affordability, I'm going to say, the government is the first,
- 19:45Speaker 6: the first person that causes uh unaffordability in the City
- 19:51Speaker 6: of New York. Like this latest bonehead idea that got
- 19:55Speaker 6: the city Council a couple of months ago pass this law.
- 20:00Speaker 6: It wasn't veto proof. They passed this law that if
- 20:04Speaker 6: you're going to sell you if you have a private
- 20:06Speaker 6: building and you're gonna sell it, you have to offer
- 20:09Speaker 6: it to one of sixteen nonprofit agencies that the city's
- 20:14Speaker 6: gonna tell you. You have to offer it to them first,
- 20:18Speaker 6: and if den if they don't want it, you could
- 20:21Speaker 6: sell it privately. And even then, if you're in before
- 20:25Speaker 6: you go into contract, you have to offer it to
- 20:28Speaker 6: these sixteen probably not nonprofit communist agencies. Well, I spoke
- 20:35Speaker 6: actually to a lawyer about this, and this is totally unconstitutional.
- 20:40Speaker 6: The problem is is the New York City courts are
- 20:43Speaker 6: all rigged with these left wing nut jobs. So it's
- 20:47Speaker 6: gonna that's.
- 20:47Speaker 1: What happened to Donald Trump. And let me ask you
- 20:49Speaker 1: a question. You're a smart guy. You could be in
- 20:51Speaker 1: any business you want. Why would anybody be a owner
- 20:53Speaker 1: of an apartment building or a landlord? It's got to
- 20:56Speaker 1: be the most difficult, troubled, the kind of way, just
- 21:00Speaker 1: NonStop problems, isn't it?
- 21:01Speaker 2: Mark?
- 21:02Speaker 6: These days? It is especially Mandami the other day appointed
- 21:06Speaker 6: this so called tenants rights advocate. Her name is CEA Weaver,
- 21:11Speaker 6: and she actually went on the air in an interview
- 21:14Speaker 6: and says, we have to rethink private property rights.
- 21:19Speaker 1: Oh yeah, no, I'll give me a better one. Let
- 21:21Speaker 1: me see here's an actual quote for her home ownership
- 21:25Speaker 1: is a weapon of white supremacy exactly.
- 21:28Speaker 6: And then she goes on to say that we're going
- 21:32Speaker 6: to attack white neighborhoods more than minority neighborhood so forth
- 21:38Speaker 6: and so on. I actually spoke to a lawyer about
- 21:42Speaker 6: this and he did tell me this is totally unconsciousness.
- 21:46Speaker 1: It is, but you know, it's New York. But we
- 21:49Speaker 1: got to go for the news with great call. We'll
- 21:50Speaker 1: get back to that woman and some of her crazy
- 21:53Speaker 1: Mondannie just put her in charge of housing. Well, we'll
- 21:55Speaker 1: get to her in the next hour. But you know,
- 21:57Speaker 1: we bring you the smartest people on earth will do
- 21:59Speaker 1: that in the moment. Steve Forbes will be with us.
- 22:03Speaker 1: He can explain a lot of this stuff in a
- 22:05Speaker 1: very rational way with the Steve Forbes next on seven
- 22:08Speaker 1: to ten wo r Steve Forbes, of course, the chairman,
- 22:12Speaker 1: editor in chief Forbes Media. Also, you know he's the
- 22:14Speaker 1: best selling author. You should get his latest book, Inflation.
- 22:18Speaker 1: There is no better book on the subject. Just go
- 22:20Speaker 1: to Amazon. You can get it there. Inflation, excellent book.
- 22:23Speaker 1: Steve Forbes, How are you.
- 22:26Speaker 2: Doing fine?
- 22:27Speaker 1: Thanks?
- 22:27Speaker 2: How are you in this new year? Lots happening. Seems
- 22:30Speaker 2: like the year's half over already with everything that's going on.
- 22:33Speaker 1: Yeah, speaking of hey, we're talking about affordability. Democrats found
- 22:37Speaker 1: that word through focus groups, affordability. But it has improved
- 22:42Speaker 1: a lot in the last year, hasn't it.
- 22:46Speaker 2: The real progress is being made. One of the things
- 22:48Speaker 2: I think the Trump President Trump and his team underestimated
- 22:52Speaker 2: was how big of a mess they were actually inherited
- 22:55Speaker 2: from the Biden administration. But when you go down the
- 22:59Speaker 2: list of what they've done and what I hope they're
- 23:01Speaker 2: going to be doing this year, it's impressive. One of
- 23:04Speaker 2: the most boring subjects in the world, of course, is regulation.
- 23:08Speaker 2: It's not the kind of thing that has people really aroused,
- 23:11Speaker 2: but it's been a huge drain, huge burden on American
- 23:14Speaker 2: manufacturing and what they've done and things like with evs.
- 23:18Speaker 2: You know, if they make these regulations permanent through legislation,
- 23:23Speaker 2: the auto industry is going to have a revival and
- 23:25Speaker 2: renaissance that we haven't seen since the nineteen fifties and
- 23:28Speaker 2: nineteen sixties in terms of new designs and new ways
- 23:31Speaker 2: of doing things instead of everything looking like a jelly
- 23:34Speaker 2: bean because of government regulations. So they're doing really really
- 23:38Speaker 2: important things. Hundreds of billions of dollars are going to
- 23:41Speaker 2: be saved through a deregulation. The tax cut is a
- 23:44Speaker 2: savior of preserving the twenty seventeen tax cuts, but also
- 23:48Speaker 2: the big write offs for investment in manufacturing and businesses
- 23:52Speaker 2: today is going to kick in. And one of the
- 23:54Speaker 2: things they're talking about, which I hope they'll do Mark,
- 23:57Speaker 2: is have a second reconciliation bill and cut personal income
- 24:00Speaker 2: tax rates, cut the corporate rate, which President Trump wanted
- 24:03Speaker 2: to do from twenty one to fifteen percent, cut the
- 24:06Speaker 2: capital gains, which that should be a no brainer. It's
- 24:09Speaker 2: good for investment but also instantly raises revenue. So some
- 24:14Speaker 2: things are moving in the right way, and a big
- 24:16Speaker 2: battle coming up again. Another boring subject monetary policy is
- 24:20Speaker 2: the Federal Reserve. Getting somebody in there who will fundamentally
- 24:23Speaker 2: re rechange, change the way the Federal Reserve operates on.
- 24:28Speaker 2: The FED operates on the assumption the prosperity causes inflation.
- 24:32Speaker 2: They have an allergy to a vigorous, growing economy, and
- 24:36Speaker 2: that's got to be changed because that's been a dead
- 24:38Speaker 2: weight for decades.
- 24:40Speaker 1: But how crucial is the Fed nowadays you know, you
- 24:43Speaker 1: can't rate cut your way to prosperity, can you.
- 24:47Speaker 2: No, But what you can do is have rates actually
- 24:50Speaker 2: set by the marketplace. What the FED is doing now
- 24:52Speaker 2: is a form of rent control. We know what that's
- 24:55Speaker 2: done in New York, and we'll do even more. But
- 24:58Speaker 2: you know, they used to talk about renting the money.
- 25:00Speaker 2: So when you're borrowing the money, you're renting it, and
- 25:03Speaker 2: the Federal Reserve is setting the rental rates instead of
- 25:05Speaker 2: letting the market do it. So the key thing is
- 25:08Speaker 2: not to have the FED come up the financial markets,
- 25:11Speaker 2: which is done with their artificial coming around with interest rates,
- 25:15Speaker 2: and go for a stable dollar. That's why I hope
- 25:17Speaker 2: Treasury Secretary Besson and President Trump say they want a strong,
- 25:21Speaker 2: stable dollar. They want the dollar to remain a reserve
- 25:24Speaker 2: currency where you have to have a stable and trustworthy
- 25:28Speaker 2: So I hope they get the FED in the right direction.
- 25:30Speaker 2: And I'll make a prediction even though I'm probably wrong,
- 25:33Speaker 2: but you never make money going with the crowd. In
- 25:36Speaker 2: terms of the head of the FED, I think a
- 25:38Speaker 2: good thing would be to send Scott Besson over to
- 25:41Speaker 2: the FED.
- 25:41Speaker 1: He's got the.
- 25:42Speaker 2: Strength and knows what needs to be done and have
- 25:44Speaker 2: Kevin Hassett, I'll go to the Treasury Department.
- 25:49Speaker 1: Oh well, listen, you know more about this than I.
- 25:51Speaker 1: But Scott Besson's a great Treasury secretary and there's oh
- 25:55Speaker 1: yes he is. YEA other people could be great FED chairman.
- 25:58Speaker 1: Look who I'm talking to, Warp, You'd be perfect for it,
- 26:01Speaker 1: but you.
- 26:02Speaker 2: Got I'm an agitator now.
- 26:06Speaker 1: But is it your top guy? If it's Scott Besston,
- 26:10Speaker 1: wouldn't need be more valuable as a Treasury secretary than
- 26:13Speaker 1: a FED chairman.
- 26:16Speaker 2: I think he would be. Actually, well, the reason I
- 26:19Speaker 2: would like him at the FED is that one, he's
- 26:22Speaker 2: got a fixed term, and he would not. I think
- 26:25Speaker 2: he's because of his background in finance and the success
- 26:29Speaker 2: in finance. There's no way they can capture him, no
- 26:32Speaker 2: way they can buffalo him the way they did Jerome Powell.
- 26:37Speaker 2: And I think he would also know how to ask
- 26:40Speaker 2: the right questions, that's key, and have the and not
- 26:44Speaker 2: be intimidated by PhDs. They're over three hundred there now
- 26:48Speaker 2: they should be uber drivers, but they're they're at the
- 26:51Speaker 2: FED right now mucking things up, and and so I
- 26:55Speaker 2: think Besson would have the strength to really turn things
- 26:59Speaker 2: over We've already seen what Lee's Eldon's done at the
- 27:02Speaker 2: EPA in terms of deregulation, and the tread of the
- 27:08Speaker 2: Energy team with this administration's phenomenal, right, and Bergham's that
- 27:15Speaker 2: that's going to pay real dividends and already is at
- 27:17Speaker 2: the pump. And by the way, by the way, the
- 27:21Speaker 2: lower price of gas line somehow doesn't make the headlines
- 27:24Speaker 2: the way it does when the Democrats are in and
- 27:27Speaker 2: prices are going up and gets ignored. Prices are going
- 27:30Speaker 2: down and the media ignores it. But with winner right
- 27:35Speaker 2: with us, boy, people want those low rates, you know.
- 27:39Speaker 1: Part of the problem though I don't know how they
- 27:41Speaker 1: managed to do it, but as the price has dropped
- 27:43Speaker 1: a lot on gas here in New York and in California,
- 27:46Speaker 1: they kept the price way up there at four dollars
- 27:48Speaker 1: a gallon, which is where most of the reporters in
- 27:50Speaker 1: the media live, so they haven't felt the effect yet.
- 27:54Speaker 2: Yeah, that's a good point. And but you know, since
- 27:59Speaker 2: they pride themselves and being a great journalist, they should
- 28:02Speaker 2: ask the question why and the answer is thing called tax.
- 28:10Speaker 1: Steve Forth, let me ask you about Venezuela. It was
- 28:12Speaker 1: a booming economy for many years, and then Chavez and
- 28:16Speaker 1: Maduro come in with their socialism and screw it up.
- 28:19Speaker 1: What's the potential for the economy in Venezuela with the
- 28:22Speaker 1: right leader.
- 28:25Speaker 2: The potential is phenomenal. We all know about their oil reserves,
- 28:29Speaker 2: and it will take time to get the fields back up.
- 28:31Speaker 2: They've been erecked and that takes time. But one of
- 28:34Speaker 2: the things I hope we do before we have a
- 28:37Speaker 2: new democratic elected government. There is a couple of things.
- 28:42Speaker 2: One is keep out the International Monetary Fund the IMF.
- 28:46Speaker 2: They always recommend higher taxes and currency devaluations with triggers inflation.
- 28:51Speaker 2: So keep out the IMF and know what they should
- 28:54Speaker 2: do do in Venezuela is since nobody pays attention to
- 28:57Speaker 2: their bullovar currency anymore toilet paper, is it dollarize it?
- 29:03Speaker 2: Malay should have done that in Argentina, the President of Argentina.
- 29:07Speaker 2: But dollarize the Venezuelan economy. They're always already using dollars
- 29:11Speaker 2: informally anyway, so make it formal and then put in
- 29:15Speaker 2: a low rate tax system and by golly, you'd see
- 29:18Speaker 2: you've got millions of people who left Venezuela. They would
- 29:22Speaker 2: bring capital back you'd see domestic capital being created again.
- 29:26Speaker 2: And there you said, they have an entrepreneurial spirit, and
- 29:30Speaker 2: you could see that economy not revived just because of oil,
- 29:33Speaker 2: but doing other things. And you have a success in Venezuela.
- 29:37Speaker 2: You've got a new president of Chile to get that
- 29:39Speaker 2: country back on track. Hopefully Malay gets it right with
- 29:43Speaker 2: the currency. In Argentina. You have those three countries booming.
- 29:46Speaker 2: By golly, that changes everything, not just in Latin America,
- 29:50Speaker 2: but as a model for other countries around the world.
- 29:53Speaker 1: Hey, Steve Forbes, what's your outlook forecast for New Jersey
- 29:57Speaker 1: with another crazy Democrat governor? Oh man, You.
- 30:05Speaker 2: Know, whenever you talk, whenever you talk to a financial advisor,
- 30:10Speaker 2: the first thing they say to me, they're more polite
- 30:14Speaker 2: than I'm about to be to myself.
- 30:16Speaker 1: You idiot.
- 30:17Speaker 2: Why he's saying in the state of New Jersey, that's
- 30:20Speaker 2: one of the most misgoverned states in the Union. And
- 30:22Speaker 2: the sad thing is years ago, Larry Cudlow and I
- 30:26Speaker 2: did a tax program for Christy Whitman when she became governor,
- 30:30Speaker 2: and we helped get through big cuts in the state
- 30:33Speaker 2: income tax rate. And one of the things we learned
- 30:35Speaker 2: back then was New Jersey was once the most prosperous
- 30:39Speaker 2: state in the country, grew faster than the rest of
- 30:41Speaker 2: the country, recovered faster than the rest of the country,
- 30:45Speaker 2: and high taxes and regulation killed what had been a
- 30:49Speaker 2: booming economy, always doing better than the national average. And
- 30:53Speaker 2: that can be brought back again. That's why the pharmaceutical
- 30:56Speaker 2: industry is based in New Jersey and other industries, and.
- 31:00Speaker 1: The policy wrecked it.
- 31:02Speaker 2: And that's what is so frustrating as we see real
- 31:06Speaker 2: life examples of before and after. And yet and yet
- 31:12Speaker 2: people continue to talk about the need for re education centers.
- 31:16Speaker 2: Maybe for economics, I don't know, but well, it's sad
- 31:21Speaker 2: because the potential is enormous, but people and capital are
- 31:24Speaker 2: moving elsewhere.
- 31:26Speaker 1: Well I would laugh at you, but we just elected
- 31:28Speaker 1: Kathy Hokele and Mamdani So I'm who am I to
- 31:32Speaker 1: But yes, Steve Forbes great to talk to you. Everybody
- 31:36Speaker 1: should get his book. His latest book is Inflation. No
- 31:39Speaker 1: better book on the subject inflation. Just go to Amazon
