- 4:01our story today, we find Nick and Patsy in the train which is crossing
- 4:04the hump of Mad Mountain in a raging blizzard. This is a pretty thrilling
- 4:10experience Nick riding over the mountain in a blizzard like this, where he does
- 4:15the snug and cozy inside the train here as if we were in our home.
- 4:18And may be thrilling, Patsy, But it's pretty dangerous, too dangerous.
- 4:21What's dangerous about it? Well, up here on Mad Mountain there's always
- 4:26the danger of a snowslide sweeping down on us and pushing the whole train down
- 4:29into the canyon. Well, we could run into extra heavy drifts and get
- 4:31stalled. Fact that's where Mad Mountain got his name, and the trouble it's
- 4:35always caused the railroad. Well, I don't care. I'm enjoying it just
- 4:39the same. Wonder how much behind schedule we are? Here comes the conductor.
- 4:43I'll hack him. Oh, conductor, how late are we going to
- 4:46be? Really? Here? To tell you? This depends on how long
- 4:49this storm keeps us, Say, conductor, didn't you used to be on
- 4:53the New York to Miami running the Penzee about ten years ago? Yes?
- 4:57It did, left there eleven years ago next March, I thought, so.
- 5:01He was to ride with you often in those days. Your name Bonner,
- 5:05Robert Bonner, got quite a memory. Sure, I'm Robert Bonner,
- 5:10but I don't remember you the detective trained mind remember named Paton, mister Bonner,
- 5:15Nick the great one for that? And Nick? You don't mean you're
- 5:18Nick Carter? Ye'll jay in the first degree. Well, well, don't
- 5:23that beat off? After eleven years? I would say, mister Carter,
- 5:27I you know I'm sort of glad you're riding with us this trip. You
- 5:30want me to help you find the tracks again? If the train runs off
- 5:33it ain't the blizzard I was thinking of bad as it is that opera star
- 5:38we got hitched on the rear of the train. You mean that private car.
- 5:40We thought the termin will belonged to real opera star. Who is she?
- 5:44The name's Pauline Hall and she just stuck up high falute and queen of
- 5:47them all. Why are you worried about her? Well, after we hit
- 5:50her car on, I went back to see if everything was okay. Orders
- 5:54you know, sure? I know well? Else she comes wearing more jewels
- 5:58in the Russian royal family. She waves her hand at me, and she
- 6:00says, conductor, please see that no one has permitted to enter my car
- 6:03at all. I'm not to be disturbed. Before we get the Sacramento in
- 6:06the morning, a wisy little child, dog of herst stands there blinking at
- 6:11me, all around his neck studded with diamonds. Well, a child is
- 6:15a high class dogmas the bout her. And then and then, as if
- 6:16there ain't enough trouble for me trying to keep everything straight around here with a
- 6:19bizzard blown Dominich, I get this telegram from the chief says I got to
- 6:24take care of the dam and her sparklers as if they were my own.
- 6:28There's the stuff she's carrying is worth about one hundred thousand cash. That's a
- 6:30lot of jewels to be lying around loose. And maybe she won't be disturbing
- 6:34sacrament in the morning either, if that dumb engineer ares don't use more sand.
- 6:39It was an hour behind crawling up yellow side. Now we ain't even
- 6:42crawling. Why Nick, we stopped. We aren't moving at all though,
- 6:49sounds as if we're in trouble. Yeah, sir, we are in trouble.
- 6:54Engineers whistling for a flag. Then you gotta get him on fast.
- 6:57When he like that on a night like this, what do you need?
- 6:59A man? Paul up here in the mountain the second six and this train's
- 7:02right behind us in this snow, she could plow right into his poor you
- 7:05know we were here. Hey, Kennie Canny, wait, have you now
- 7:11all? I get your flag and get going. We're stuck. Oh,
- 7:14look, on a night like there's no time to argue Carty. Now you
- 7:16get ready and start on your way back, and you'll be sure I get
- 7:19back a full half mile or two before you set your flares. Be watching,
- 7:23so shake it up. I suppose I gotta climb out and wait around
- 7:27that opera star's car. She won't let me go through. You'll bet she
- 7:30won't when you go buy your car. Don't cuts the slide you wake her
- 7:33up either. I don't want to be hauled on the carpet for disturbing her
- 7:36names. Snow must be up to my waist by this time. List and
- 7:41watch out you don't fall over into the canyon, all right, watch room
- 7:44to spare between the track and the edge that quick you know of all the
- 7:46dog on dirty jogs on the railroad. This being a he doesn't look very
- 7:50happy. No, no, I ain't very happy either, doddering old fotn't
- 7:55push her up there in the cab was a real he man, we wouldn't
- 7:58be starting for a little snow. Well. They had nothing to do now
- 8:01but waite. I hope the singing section don't jam into us. What's the
- 8:18engine they're trying to do now? I'm there. It sounds like you signaling
- 8:20the other section that double flag man, I mind set the players going Like
- 8:24I told him too. They had to stop the rest of this drag.
- 8:26Then there wouldn't be no need for all that tooping and Wishley. Why don't
- 8:30you look and see if you can see the players, mister Donner, they
- 8:33certainly show up across the snow. Now that the stop knowing, That's just
- 8:35what I'm going to do. You want to come, mister Carter? Weight,
- 8:39I got my coat on and I'll be right with you. Are you
- 8:41ready, mister Carter? And take a look out of the platform. They
- 8:45have a car here. Now watch out, we'll open up here. Hey,
- 8:50mighty cold out here. Must have been there zero very near. That's
- 8:56the other section, mister Carter. They got the signal. Well, that
- 9:00takes care of that. Hey, wait a minute, what what what's that?
- 9:03Good? Gun? I said? So I was like, did he
- 9:05is? That's an avalanche? The house sounds like a big slide, Yes,
- 9:09sir, Hey, that was awful. Clothes too close for comfort?
- 9:22Yes, certain, indeed, mister Stow went right by us. And what
- 9:26about the flag man? You suppose that he might have been at Carney.
- 9:28He must have been riding the past. I better see if he'll go.
- 9:31Wait here for your mom. Now, once you step along this edge of
- 9:45the canyon angers the carni a thousand feet dropped to the state highway at the
- 9:48bottom. Don't worry, I'm watching. And look at the queen's car here,
- 9:54not a light in it. Not a peep out of the old girl.
- 9:58And if thought the noise of that slide would have woke in the dead.
- 10:00Didn't you say she had a maid and a porter with a tool funny
- 10:03another week? Yeah, probably she's got him both scared. Don't dare make
- 10:07a sound while he's asleep. The dog too, didn't hear a peep out
- 10:13of him either, Hey bob, look ahead there. That slide cleared off
- 10:16a place about a quarter mile wide, and they said only missed us by
- 10:20about one hundred yards. Wait a minute, I got my flash light here.
- 10:24Let me see if we can see anything of Carnie anywhere. Thanks,
- 10:26mister cant An. There ain't no use looking for him. And after that,
- 10:30he listen, I don't get nothing. There it is again, and
- 10:35it's down there over the edge of the canyon. Here'll fresh your light down
- 10:37there, see free. I can't see the thing. Must have Hey bob,
- 10:43look there the flagman Carnie, Yes, caught in that little tree down
- 10:48there, must be fifty feet down the side of the floor. What's he
- 10:52doing down there? Must have slept and fallen over the edge in his way
- 10:54back. Yeah, but that's not Carnie making that noise. No oh,
- 11:00it isn't. But I can't see anything else down there that's making it.
- 11:03No wonder they named this man mountain. I'll go get a couple of porters
- 11:07and some rope. We'll have to get Connie out of that quick. If
- 11:09you're still alive, just a little more, no boy, oh, po
- 11:28a head. Let me help you now all together? Are you that said?
- 11:37Now? Give me a handle the body. He's a cuddy. Is
- 11:41he dead? Yes? He broke his neck with hell, poor Canie.
- 11:45Then he's a long ride we've had together. You tube porters, stay here
- 11:48with the body for a bit, Bob. You and I have a job
- 11:50to do. Come on, quick, job. What do you mean?
- 11:52Say where you're going? That's what I think it is. We've got a
- 11:56real job in our hands. You got a key to the Queen's private car,
- 11:58the Queen's we do no what do you want that for? You know
- 12:01what I found on there when I was getting Conne's body. What ain't got
- 12:05any idea? That child dog of hers is caught in a clump of bushes.
- 12:07That's below where Connie was. Yeah, the dog was doing that crying
- 12:11we heard before he stopped. Now, I'll bet that darn dog got out
- 12:15of the car and chased Carnie, and Carnie fell over the edge trying to
- 12:18get away from him. Certainly, hope you're right, Bob, but I
- 12:20don't think so. What do you think did happen? Then tell you in
- 12:22a minute. Here's the end of the Queen's car. Maybe I've got a
- 12:26keeve that'll fit this door. Cool. No, they have a special lock
- 12:33on it, and I can't wait to take it. Now. Watch out,
- 12:37hey, I can't go busting the private cars like that. You can
- 12:39this time. Now I cannot lock it from the inside. When what do
- 12:43you think you're gonna find in here? Money? And shut the door?
- 12:45All right? I don't see Look here, Bob, hey, one of
- 12:50those statements of the red beds that ain't that ain't but that I came from.
- 12:54In here? That's her porteroole tied out. Yes, he's been I
- 13:00don't understand. I thought so see there, Oh, look at all that
- 13:05blood. Yes, and the queen put up quite a struggle for her life,
- 13:09but she lost. I'll say there was a fight here, and look
- 13:13at this room. Everything upside down, yes, and everything valuable gone,
- 13:18nothing left but some toilet articles. Where's the maid's compartment? He's over here?
- 13:24Oh gosh, ho mondy, she's dead too, strangle to death.
- 13:28Looks like those purple marks around her. And that couldn't mean anything else.
- 13:31Oh what a smell? What is it, mister Carter? It smells like
- 13:35perfume? Yeah, I see there, broken perfume bottle got smashed in the
- 13:39struggle. Smell is so strong it's sickening. Oh, I'm gonna catch it
- 13:46for this. What's in the other compartment? I wouldn't know. I could
- 13:48just opeen eight more bodies. Well we'll see, just as I suspected.
- 13:54See those cigarette burns on the dresser and the empty bottles. Two men head
- 13:58in here, wait until the time was right, then killed the queen and
- 14:01her maiden, stole the jewels. How do you know there was two men,
- 14:03two different brands of cigarettes here? Oh yeah, what do you suppose
- 14:07they got aboard? Probably hid in here before the car left the junction.
- 14:11Do you suppose they're still on the train. See if the front door of
- 14:15the car is unlocked. Oh sure, sure, yes, mister carry it's
- 14:18not locked. They probably went out that way and there somewhere on the train
- 14:22now probably must have figured that nobody went under this car before it reached Sacramento.
- 14:28We're all set to drop off at one of the way stations before that.
- 14:33But undoubtedly the snow slide interfit of their plans, and in this deep
- 14:37snow, there's no place they could go without being in danger of their lives.
- 14:41Yes, I feel sure they're still on the train. Well, can
- 14:43you find any clues to tell us who they are? I hope so they
- 14:46could take some fingerprints, Baby would take too long a fingerprit everybody in the
- 14:50train. No, we got to find some other way to do it.
- 14:52It is, But how I don't know yet, But I think I have
- 14:56an idea. Well, what do we do now? Bring Connie's body in
- 15:00here. Let the passengers think he was killed in the slide, but don't
- 15:03let them know he was murdered. Murdered. Do you say Connie was murdered
- 15:05too? I thought you said his neck was broken. It was the back
- 15:09of his head was crushed in too, And that was no accident. That's
- 15:13what led me to believe that there might have been trouble here in the Queen's
- 15:16car Boba's I see it. The chow made trouble for the killers when they
- 15:18started their work, so they took it outside to get rid of it.
- 15:22But they ran it to Cornie. They killed him and threw him and the
- 15:24dog into the canyon. And so long as the killers think that Connie and
- 15:28the dog are both dead, we'll let them keep on thinking so at least
- 15:31until I can rescue that chow. Are you crazy, mister Carter, that
- 15:33that money worth risking your Nick for? No? I have an idea.
- 15:37Maybe he can tell us who the killers are. Oh? What the heck?
- 15:41Chows can't talk. I have an idea. Maybe this one can.
- 15:43At least I'm going to find out anyway. So Nick thinks he can make
- 15:54the child talk at least enough to tell him who killed the opera singer and
- 15:58stole her jewels. Will the dog still be alive by the time he can
- 16:02get down to rescue it, and will it tell him what he wants to
- 16:04know? We'll see in just a moment. There is no more attractive background
- 16:11for your furniture than lustrous, well kept floors and linex self polishing wax keeps
- 16:15all your floors looking their best, whether their wood, tile or linoleum.
- 16:19Yet it takes only a jiffy to apply and dries without rubbing to an elastic,
- 16:25satiny finish that wears amazingly because LINEX self Polishing Wax contains the highest possible
- 16:30content of genuine carnava wax with no gum, shallac or resin in it to
- 16:36chip or crumble. When the most used parts of your floor shall wear,
- 16:38you needn't rewax the whole floor either. And LINEX self Polishing Wax is so
- 16:44resistant to dirt and water that it keeps the soil on the surface where it's
- 16:48easily wiped away of the damp cloth or mild SuDS. In addition, LINEX
- 16:52self Polishing Wax is the non skid floor finish, resisting slip even when water
- 16:57is spilled on it. The underwriters laboratories whose seal is on each bottle have
- 17:02proved this fact. Don't get it now Linux l I N dash X,
- 17:07Linax self Polishing Wax. You'll find all three great Linax Home Bright News and
- 17:14kem Tone, the Miracle wall finish, a paint, hardware and department stores
- 17:18everywhere, and now back to our story. We left Nick planning to rescue
- 17:27the dead opera singer's dog, which is caught on a bush on the side
- 17:30of the canyon, in the hopes that it might some way reveal the identity
- 17:33of the murderers of his mistress. But where did Nick go at the honor?
- 17:37He wouldn't tell me, miss Bow And he just told me to come
- 17:41to the baggage card, get all the extra rope we have, and wait,
- 17:45we got back. Now, I wish you wouldn't try to rescue that
- 17:47dog tonight. It's too dangerous in the dark on a freezing night like this.
- 17:52I tried to tell him that, but he wouldn't listen to me.
- 17:55Just said that the dog was going to help him find the killers. Crazy
- 17:57talk, isn't mister Bonner. Nick has a way of knowing what he's talking
- 18:02about. But I wish you were that rope for me, bron A little
- 18:04basic kind Now, why don't you let me take the baggage and mail cruise
- 18:07and search the train for these killers. I got to be useless job.
- 18:10Those crooks are only two out of several hundred people on this train. How
- 18:14could you tell them from the others? Well, Furthermore, once you let
- 18:17the passengers know there have been two murders on this train, you'll see what
- 18:19happens. Oh gosh, Nick, you're right, we might have a panic
- 18:22on our head. I guess you're right, but I don't like it.
- 18:25Just the same risk in your neck for a fool dog. I like dogs,
- 18:27and this one's hurt and probably freezing by now? Nick, what were
- 18:30you doing in the train just now? I thought you said you weren't going
- 18:33to try to stop the killers. I wasn't, Patsy, not exactly.
- 18:37Then? What were you doing looking for something? Well? Did you find?
- 18:41Maybe we'll see you later. How do you love to have that rope?
- 18:42Sure? You don't want me to come with you? No, you
- 18:45stay here. I don't want any of the train crew or passengers to know
- 18:48what's going on. Okay, whatever you say. If mister Bonner is not
- 18:52going with you, I am well. Now that the storm's over, I
- 18:56guess it's safe enough. But you better address warmly, Patsy. It's mighty
- 18:59cold out. Look, Nick, there's an extra trainment outfit here that's heavy
- 19:02enough. Could I use that? Instamun? Sure? Sure? If you
- 19:03can get into it, I can get into it all right, with plenty
- 19:07left over, Patsy, I want to get that dog while he's still alive.
- 19:10Hurry up, well here, let's get going. I'm glad that wind
- 19:22died down. That's quite so cold. Now that's right. Is this where
- 19:26you found the brakeman? Oh? Yes, I can see the Martians.
- 19:30Now is the dog here too, Nick? Yes, Patsy, he was
- 19:33caught in a small bush just below where the brakeman was. How are you
- 19:36going to get down to him? I'm going to try this lodger rope to
- 19:38the rail here if I can find it under this snow. Yes, here
- 19:44it is. That's a second rail. That should be enough that i'd hold
- 19:52it. Yeah. Oh, I let myself down the side of the canyon
- 19:56with it. You'll keep hold of this smaller when I've tied the dog to
- 20:00it, you'll pull it up. Okay. I can climb back up the
- 20:03other rope myself. The good thing we have the headlights and the locomotive on
- 20:07the second section to help us. Gosh, it's bright. Yes, even
- 20:10though it's at least a half a mile down, the track is light enough
- 20:11for us to see by. All right, are you ready? Gee?
- 20:15Nick? Suppose your hands gets so cold you can't pull yourself back out.
- 20:18I don't worry they want, Patsy. I'll be getting enough exercise so i'll
- 20:19keep warm. It's you i'm worried about. Are you warm enough? You're
- 20:22sure this outfit I've got un keep gold the cold out. I'm okay,
- 20:26all right, then I'm off. I'll let you know as soon as i'm
- 20:27ready to have the dog pulled up. I'll be waiting. Take care of
- 20:30you. Tell me I am all right, old neck. Here he is
- 20:41pass and he's still alive. Oh good, oh poor little fellow. All
- 20:45right, steady belay, we'll have you up for it's nice and warm and
- 20:48no time here we are. Now. Just put this little rope around your
- 20:52belly. Yeah, I'm tied around your fee leg you so it won't slip.
- 21:00I don't want to lose you now. You're too valuable to me.
- 21:04That's a minute. You take it easy, will you. He'll be all
- 21:07right anyway. I don't have a nice ride, all right, pull him
- 21:10up, Patsy, careful, okay. I'll just pull myself up with you
- 21:15so I can keep my eye and you can't be sure you won't slip out
- 21:17of the ropes. I'll fight it. Boy, that's easy, now,
- 21:22easy, you ask for both coming along? All right? He must be
- 21:27broke. I probably is there. I'm not too warm myself. All right,
- 21:33boy, you wanna tell him Willie when I got this rope off the
- 21:36track? Okay, I'll take it easy, pup. Yeah, I don't
- 21:40blame you for being I'm mad too. Right now, you're all right here?
- 21:44You can you stand up? Oh? Nick? Do you suppose any
- 21:48of his bones are broken? I hope not. Let me see. I
- 21:52think he's just suffering from exposure. He's hardly more than a pup. I'll
- 21:57carry him back to the dining car. We'll get the chef to fix him
- 22:00something hot, some good hot milk with a little branding in it, or
- 22:03to make him feel like a new dog. And something hot wouldn't hurt us
- 22:04either. Come out. Oh look, Nick, he feels much better than
- 22:17he did. Why he walks around almost normally. Now there's a little something
- 22:19warm to he fixed him. He that rub down you gave him? Oh
- 22:22what are you pining to do now? Nick? Nothing? Have that small
- 22:26piece of rope, will you? I want to make a leash for him.
- 22:27You're not going to take that poor pop out for a walk? Are
- 22:30you take him out? No? Tag him for a walk? Yes?
- 22:33But why Patsy, I have you've forgotten We're on the trail of two murderers.
- 22:37So quick, not Nick. But that's not much of a leash.
- 22:41But I think it'll serve the purpose. All right, Bob, you're ready?
- 22:42I sure, I am ready for any him. But say, do
- 22:45I spell trouble? You might? We'll know pretty quick. Now, May
- 22:48I come to Nick? Not this time, Patsy. Just wait here and
- 22:51cross your fingers for a luck. Okay, where are you going? To
- 22:55the smoking compartment? To the first car. I want to show the dog
- 22:57something easy enough, Bob, all right, it's smoking compartments. Just ahead
- 23:11here, Okay, alright, boy, quiet, you'll get your chance in
- 23:15justin. I remember back some twenty years ago we were held up in for
- 23:18four days and the slides of a railroad up in Kennedy. Yeah, yeah,
- 23:22somebody has always been were it's white. I'm gonna let the dog loose
- 23:26when we get to the door of the compartment. I'll follow him in and
- 23:29you stay back on me. I don't want to see the brag. I
- 23:32was just going to say he's just bad enough now without you making a way,
- 23:37Hi, Bob, you hear that? Yeah? But what quiet?
- 23:40I'm letting him loose? You go way gone on your left, ready,
- 23:45Bob, Yeah, all right, here goes. We stay here until I
- 23:48say I just can't keep that track. Shut it. Take him give I
- 23:57can't hit them off me. Williams. Come on up at your crew,
- 24:04get your hands up, quick, talk off the dog mam us. Did
- 24:11he not know he won't? Ye? Let hit her hands up now.
- 24:14You ain't got no right to come in here out. Don't try to get
- 24:15your gun or let you have it? Right, I got my heads up.
- 24:18That's better. I don't like shooting, all right, Bob. Take
- 24:21their guns away from them. Be sure you got all of them, and
- 24:22see what else they have on them at the same time. Quite sure,
- 24:25I'll give him a good going over. Carter. You ain't Nick Carter,
- 24:29I certainly am. Wouldn't you know, Pete? We pull the job up
- 24:32here in the mountains and Nick Carter has to be on the track. Shut
- 24:34up. You got none, that's nothing. No, I think I have
- 24:37plenty pro but you want to such it. Find anything interesting, Bob?
- 24:41Nothing? Just these three guns. Nothing there you say, I told you
- 24:44you got no reel in your panel. Enter the opera singer or made in
- 24:47their private car, and I just slugged the brakeman and threw them over the
- 24:48cliff who stole all the singers jewels. You call that nothing. This guy's
- 24:52not Pete. Go out a provate kappa, But get me a doctor,
- 24:55face William, My legs all better, fuck complete. I'll get you a
- 24:57doctor after I get your come. We don't know nothing about it, though
- 25:00it might No, we don't know a thing. It wasn't even there.
- 25:04All right, very well, we'll all sit right here and wait until you
- 25:08two decide to give us the information we want. All right, fat foot
- 25:11sit You're gonna wait till next year, but you won't lay nothing from us.
- 25:15Okay, I'll wait. Look, Coppa, I gotta get a doctor.
- 25:34Hey, Bob, huh? You know how quick hydrophobia sets in after
- 25:38a dog bites? I know I don't pretty quick, I think. See
- 25:42if I remember correctly, there's no cure for it after it does set in?
- 25:47Is there? IM sure? I don't believe there is o cue?
- 25:52How long would you say it is? Since the dog bit Pete? Here?
- 25:55It must be about ten minutes. Now, I'd say ten minutes,
- 25:57man, and don't only takes hydrophobia about five? All right, all right,
- 26:02I'll tell her, tell only give me a doctor. You got a
- 26:03doctor and I got your confessions? Okay, okay? Will we killed the
- 26:07Michael? Me? Will we hitting the old Dame's car before I left the
- 26:10yard where Joe we made a bundle out of him, and then throw him
- 26:12clear off the cliff and tell me to stay rode at the bottom. Get
- 26:15me a doctor. Way, I'm tying, you're not dying? Not yeah,
- 26:18I am, I am, I got hydrophobia. Sure, get a
- 26:22doctor with you. Y'are a fool. You can't get hydrophobia from a dog
- 26:25bites unless the dog has hydrophobia before he bites you. And this dog is
- 26:29as clean and healthy as a dog could be. There are no more danger
- 26:33from those bites than I am. You mean? You mean? I ain't
- 26:37gonna get sick from the bikes? Nothing the slightest double crossing right out of
- 26:42Keep quiet. See if you can find a doctor and take the dog back
- 26:48to Patsy he's done a good night's work, And bring some rope to tie
- 26:52up these cheap thugs. Sure what you kind of come on? I beg
- 26:59your pardon, mister why? Why? Yes? Hey? Where are you?
- 27:03I? I'm here under this seat. Is it safe to come out
- 27:07now? Yes? Indeed, come on out and join the party. Thank
- 27:12you. It's much more comfortable out here. Mister. I asked you a
- 27:18question, quite certainly, go right ahead. How did you know these with
- 27:23the men who were killed somebody? Very simple? When I walked through the
- 27:27train a while ago, I noticed that the tobacco smoking this compartment was sent
- 27:32it heavily with perfume. Perfume these thugs got spilled on them when a bottle
- 27:36of perfume broke in the opera singer's card during the fight. Oh that's wonderful,
- 27:41mister Kato were wonderful. Well, I couldn't be absolutely positive just from
- 27:45the perfume, and I couldn't know which of the six men in the compartment
- 27:48are the ones I wanted, and knowing that the men were armed, I
- 27:52had to be sure, yes, yes, yes, of course, So
- 27:53I brought the dog in here. Knowing that a char would never stop hating
- 27:57the men who killed his mistress, he supplied me with the additional evidence I
- 28:02needed. Then, it was a very simple matter as you were to get
- 28:03that confession, and the duels will get those two. I shall notify the
- 28:10state police as soon as I can contact them. The snowslides and the marks
- 28:12I made going down the side of the cliff after the dog will mark the
- 28:15place closely enough. That's wonderful that that dog that's not dog, isn't he
- 28:21You well lots smarter than these two crooks. He'll never go to the electric
- 28:23chair. That's more than I can say for them. In just a moment,
- 28:37Nick and Patsy will bring you a preview of next week's exciting case.
- 28:41But first here's a worthwhile thought. These are busy times, times for streamlined
- 28:47efficiency and everything we do, and the American homemakers everywhere are learning how much
- 28:52time they save when they preserve the natural beauty of their furniture. With Linux
- 28:56cream Polish, which cleans as it polishes in one easy process. Linux cream
- 29:03Polish requires no tiresome rubbing and in one quick, easy application removes cloudy dust

- 29:15cream Polish dries hard too, leaving no oily film to attract more dust and
- 29:19make more work for you. So, by all means, keep your treasured
- 29:23furniture lovely the easy way with Linux cream polish. Remember to ask for it
- 29:29at your dealers. If he hasn't received his supply of the three great Linux
- 29:32homewriters, you'll probably have them soon. Ask him to save one or all
- 29:37of them for you. Acme will see that he gets them and you get
- 29:41them as quickly as possible. And now let's hear from Nick Cotter himself.
- 29:47How about it? Nick? What thrilling story are you going to tell us
- 29:48next week? Well, next week, Ken, I'm going to tell you
- 29:52a simple little story which begins when the milkman arrives at a customer's house to
- 29:56find the young wife tied up in the kitchen of her home and her young
- 30:00husband shot to death in his bed. The local sheriff couldn't seem to make
- 30:03henderd tails out of the case. But when Nick took hold, he picked
- 30:07up a small clue here and another one there, and got the right answer,
- 30:11an answer I may say that was somewhat unexpected. Is it an exciting
- 30:15case? While tracking down a murder is always exciting, to me, what
- 30:18do you call the story? Nick? I call it the Two Pillow Murder
- 30:22for the Mystery of the Milkman's Discovery. And that's all for now. So
- 30:26long, everybody, So long, and so long to you both Nick and
- 30:30Patsy. We'll be looking forward to seeing you again next week. Next week,
- 30:40at the same time, listen to another curious experience of Nick Carter Master
- 30:42Detective entitled The Two Pillow Murderer or Nick Carter and the Mystery of the Milkman's
- 30:49Discovery. Nick Carter Master Detective is a copyright feature of Streathan Smith Publications,
- 31:00Incorporated. It is presented at the same time and over these same stations by
- 31:06the three great Linux Home Brightness, Linux clear Glass, Linux Cream Polish,
- 31:11and LINEX self Polishing Wax created by ACME, America's great producer of ACME Quality
- 31:18paints. In the Nick Carter Adventures, Lin Clark has starred as Nick.
- 31:22Allen Schote is featured as Patsy. Original music is played by Lou White.
- 31:26The programs are written and directed by Jack McGregor. This is Ken Powell speaking
- 31:30for the thousands of Linux dealers all over America and saying, so long until
- 31:34next week. This is mutual welcome back Nick Carter, greatest of all confession
- 31:47coursers, and given me intellectual quality of these criminals, it would have been
- 31:52nice if he tried some other way to trick the confession out of him.
- 31:56It shouldn't have been too hard. Well, hopefully next week will for a
- 32:00bigger intellectual challenge for our hero. All right, now to listener comments and
- 32:06feedback. Michelle writes, I've had this app for over a year now and
