- 4:36let's get right into the show. Here we go, Here we go,
- 4:40folks, burst up. We have a CIA document in February sixth, thankteen
- 4:47sixty seven concerning what's actually it's from the Director Domestic Contact Service, the Chief
- 5:00of New Orleans Office concerning Harlow Springer and his Cossack Cuba store want to live
- 5:06in Dictatur Street, New Orleans, Louisiana, in response to a telephone call
- 5:14at the office during the afternoon of February the first, nineteen sixty seven from
- 5:18subject requesting an interview. Painter Link of this office met with him at his
- 5:24places in business, the Clothing and Notions Store, in the morning. Stevy
- 5:30second. The attached document forwarded for retention was submitted by a subject as his
- 5:36outline, but it suggested plan to counteract the communist propaganda which subject states is
- 5:44being widely circulated throughout Latin America to the effect that Lee Harvey Oswald was only
- 5:50a pawn in a plot by US far right elements to assassinate President Kennedy.
- 6:00Now it's funny he wants to say that. Yet he's also doing the tour
- 6:05with General Walker and the Reverend Reverend was it Billie Joel Hargis or Bobby Joel
- 6:14Hargess extreme far white when they are white, it seems far right elements who
- 6:25are suspected by some to be behind the assassination of President Kennedy. Uh subject
- 6:38says that he gets this information mainly from the many Latin American crew members of
- 6:44the merchant ships and Latin American tourists whom he hurt, whom he serves in
- 6:49his store, that the US is losing this propaganda war which is causing serious
- 6:57and growing damage to them of the US President Johnson, Cia, the Pentagon,
- 7:03and the FBI throughout Latin America. He believes that any overtly sponsored effort
- 7:11of the port of the US government were conducted by North Americans would be ineffective,
- 7:16and that any such effort should be carried out by Latin American newsmen,
- 7:20preferably in Spanish and Portuguese and local idioms and accents, under the covert tutelage
- 7:30and supervision of the appropriate US government agencies. So what he's saying here is
- 7:34that they should be doing their own kind of anti propaganda, anti communist propaganda,
- 7:44and he wants the CIA to sponsor and use Latin American people, and
- 7:48they're Latin in American extens Yeah. Source also said that the New Orleans DA
- 7:56Jim Garrison excuse me can inducting his own investigation of Oswald's role in President Kennedy's
- 8:03assassination at the probable instigation of one Sam de Pino, whose business cards the
- 8:13subject has and which shows him to be a television newsman connected to the local
- 8:16ABC station w VUE Channel twelve and with screen Gems Broadcasting of Louisiana, Inc.
- 8:28In this connection, source said that he was interviewed by two men from
- 8:31the DA's office, whom he was unable to identify, and that a friend
- 8:37of his by the name of Kiroga that would be They've been subpoened and personally
- 8:45interrogated by Garrison. We believe that there is some truth in the allegation of
- 8:50the Garrison investigation and that the matter is under a discreet and sensitive investigation by
- 8:54the FBI. Let me repeat that sentence for you people. We the CIA
- 9:05believe that there is some truth in the allegation of the Garrison investigation, and
- 9:09that the matter is under a inscreet consensitive investigation by the FBI. M Yeah,
- 9:22that part all right. Next up, we have a FBI document dated
- 9:33April the first April Fools Day, nineteen sixty four from the Special Agent in
- 9:39Charge of New York to the eight HUVA Director of the FBI. UM On
- 9:50March twenty six, sixty four, AH, there was a somebody NY three
- 9:56nine four eight C reported that he had a conversation with Dt Lee Won three
- 10:03twenty sixty four in which Lee mentioned to the informant that he had turned over
- 10:07one correspondence regarding the desire of Lee Harvey Oswald to establish a chapter of the
- 10:13Fair Play for Cuba Committee in Dallas to the FBI. The informant indicated that
- 10:20Lee also related that statements concerning the assassination of President Kennedy by individuals previously active
- 10:26in the FPCC declare that the president was actually assassinated by Dallas police officer Tippett.
- 10:33Also that one week before the assassination, Patrollman Tippett, the head of
- 10:37the John Birch Society in Dallas, and an unnamed third party suggested by these
- 10:43FPCC individuals, as highly as possibly being Oswald, were together and Jack Ruby's
- 10:50nightclub. We also stated that while Oswald was an FPCC advocate, he had
- 10:56also joined a number of anti Castro movements and was there for in position to
- 11:01know everything that was going on on both sides of the issues involved. Well,
- 11:09I don't know where old VTL is getting his information about Kennedy actually being
- 11:16assassinated by Tippett. But all righty, then, in the immortal words of
- 11:22Jim Carrey, all right step. An FBI report furnished to Special Agent James
- 11:37O'Neill and James Wallace from a confidential informant. On the evening of January the
- 11:46sixteenth, nineteen sixty four, a dinner sponsored by Orange Finton Potito was held
- 11:50at Donot's Restaurant, Haines Road, Saint Petersburg, Florida. The dinner meeting
- 11:58was informal in nature and approximately forty one persons were in attendance. The source
- 12:07has identified Potito as a member of the National States Rights Party in the spring
- 12:13of nineteen sixty three, at which time Potito resigned while holding the office of
- 12:18National Organizer since that time, Petito has held his own meetings under various titles,
- 12:26all of which are non existent organizations. He is not known to have
- 12:31any national affiliation at the present time, although he is in contact with various
- 12:37leaders of right wing groups in the United States excuse me. In the course
- 12:43of his speech of some three hours following the dinner, Potito touched on the
- 12:50association between Lee Harvey Oswald and Jack Ruby. Potito identified Ruby real name Rubinstein,
- 12:56as a Communist Party Men member since team twenty nine, and through this
- 13:01connection, linked him to Oswald. He identified Oswald as a Communist through his
- 13:07association with the Fair Play for Keeber Committee. According to Petito, only two
- 13:13organizations knew the route of the parade in Dallas on November twenty second for any
- 13:18period of time prior to the parade, and these two were the United States
- 13:22Secret Service and the Dallas Police Department. Now Ruby had insinuated himself with the
- 13:28police department circle, obtained the route and arranged with Oswald to take a job
- 13:33at the State School building along the route to carry out the assassination, Tito
- 13:39said. The Surgeon General's report on the assassination stated that the first bullet entered
- 13:46the President's throat below the Adams Apple, clearly showing that two persons at least
- 13:52two persons were involved with the first shot being fired from the bridge across the
- 13:56parkway in front of the car. Further substantiate this, Petito said there was
- 14:01a bullet hole in the windshield of the President's car. Of course we've all
- 14:09heard that before, you know, But is it just a crack or was
- 14:16there a whole? I mean, I know at some point somebody said that
- 14:20they could stick their pencil through the hole after observing this a Parkland hospital.
- 14:28And of course there's some windshield fuckery, as we like to call it around
- 14:31here. I believe Douglas Wildon has done the most extensive research into the windshield
- 14:41of the President's limousine, and there was definitely some fickery. Who going on
- 14:54there believing people? All right? Next up? Uh, you know,
- 15:00we've always speculating how great it would be. You know, we have a
- 15:05lot of the CIA files, a lot of the FBI files, some Secret
- 15:09Service documents, not all of them, since they learned a lot of them.
- 15:18We always speculated how nice it will be to get the I and S
- 15:20documents pertaining de Lee Harvey Oswald well, they have an FBI file here just
- 15:33a memorandum to file from Asian Paul Wallet. December third, nineteen seventy five
- 15:41a telephone conversation with Wendell. Following up on yesterday's initial phone contact, I
- 15:50spoke with Roache this afternoon for about twenty minutes. He again was cooperative and
- 15:54agreed to the DC as long as it was cleared with his the period.
- 16:00Roach explained, but in nineteen sixty three he was in charge of the New
- 16:07Orleans Border Patrol Station, Station Senior, which was not in the Customs house
- 16:15building. The station reported directly to the New Orleans District Office, which at
- 16:19that time was run by Edward fuck Bob Brewer was then in charge of the
- 16:25b R section in the Regional Ionen's office in Richmond, Virginia. According to
- 16:32Roach, ion s's role is to determine who is an alien and prevent unauthorized
- 16:37border crossings. However, frequent additional requirements were levied upon ions, such as
- 16:42supplementing federal marshals in the instant areas. New Orleans was charged with the responsibility
- 16:49of surveilling various Cuban groups in New Orleans. Although Roach cannot specifically recall who
- 16:56initiated the requirement he assumed as it came through justice and stated that could be
- 17:03clearer on the details. Included in this surveillance was a group of nuts.
- 17:12No, you dirty minded people, not those kind of nuts, crazy people
- 17:19like David Ferry. Roach knew the details on Ferry, I e. His
- 17:26dismissal from Eastern Airlines, homosexual with reverse tendencies, nuttier than a fruitcake,
- 17:33in quotes, etc. He stated that Ferry's office, on a side street
- 17:40between Saint Charles and camp Will have a street map for him was under surveillance,
- 17:45although he never surveiled it. Another inspector drove him past it and identified
- 17:49it to him. That Lee Harvey Oswald was identified by I and S as
- 17:56an American when he first appeared on the New Orleans Streets scene, who does
- 18:00not recall the circumstances surrounding this identification, was seen going into the offices of
- 18:06Ferries Group, and Oswald was known to be one of the men in the
- 18:10group. Roach was aware that Ferries Group was anti Castro, that Ferry had
- 18:17a plane at the airport, and that it was believed that Ferry was going
- 18:21to take his brigade, which was being trained by a six foot x marine
- 18:30at Lake Country train to Cuba. Who further stated that Ferry like young men.
- 18:37It was known to give these guys all sorts of pills at the training
- 18:41camp and take movies of them. Wow okay. Roach stressed at the New
- 18:52Orleans Police Department, specifically the Intelligence Division and the East Medary's Arab's office had
- 19:00reports one fairies nutty group. He added that Garrison had something. I read
- 19:07his reports in the newspaper and they were correct. He received good intelligence information,
- 19:11whether he was using it for politics or not. Roach also noted that
- 19:17Garrison was all eyes and ears in the French quarter and that he had heard
- 19:22Serry was running when he was killed. Roach did not know one whether Oswald
- 19:34ever visited the training camp. Who about any organized crime tie in three about
- 19:41Oswald being arrested for getting into a fight, four about Oswald's alleged anti Cuban
- 19:48politics, five, whether Oswald had any contacts with other law enforcement and or
- 19:55intelligence agencies six of a restaurant called Pedro's seven specific dates for any facts described
- 20:03here in Roach himself and seeing Oswald on only one occasion when Oswald was handing
- 20:11out handbills at a point not too far to Examson squat, also not too
- 20:18far from the trademark. The most interesting occurrence was touched on by Roach.
- 20:25He related that Ron Smith happened to receive a call from the New Orleans Police
- 20:29Department, which at that time at Oswald and custody. Apparently Oswald would only
- 20:34speak Russian, and the New Orleans PD conducted that he was Russian. Smith
- 20:41went to the NPD, and Roach believes that he identified Oswald as an American
- 20:45citizen, and after calling his bluff, Oswald the peak in English. So
- 20:53we got mister Oswald, the funny guy over here, you know, holding
- 21:00the police and just speaking Russian. And they thinking they had themselves, they
- 21:03called themselves a real life kami Russian nod. I'm really American. H I
- 21:11got you guys, I'm speaking English. Yeah, So Stephen Oswald had a
- 21:19sense of humor, folks. Roach does not know if Smith filed a report,
- 21:26He did state that he talked to Smith about it two weeks ago,
- 21:30adding that he had no injection. So by telling Smith that he referred me
- 21:36to him, we generally discussed ions his record keeping. Apparently almost all of
- 21:42Roach's reports to cup were oral, thankfully, and not anal. He does
- 21:52not believe that any reports were written on the A formentioned points, with the
- 21:56exception of the levying of requirements on its. Roach had limited, if any
- 22:03contact with the Breeze or any other FBI or CI agent I knew him.
- 22:08He also told me that ion S did not have informant in these groups.
- 22:12No idea of anyone that had. I asked Rouch who else besides up Smith,
- 22:18and he was likely to have known about Oswald. I assume we can
- 22:22get ions records, he suggested Muscle Bruce Ions local Investigations office would have checked
- 22:30out Cubans in Dallas, but to get their agents lists. Two interesting asked
- 22:42up some documents about somebody that I've had a lot, not a lot of
- 22:47similar quests to cover or here on the show the CIA, I said,
- 22:52by the name of William George Valdin or all day, however you want to
- 22:57say it. So. FBI document dated November twenty seventh, nineteen sixty three.
- 23:07William George god A elephonically contacted his agent advised that he had heard Jack
- 23:14Ruby from Dallas had purchased paintings from one of Lorenzo Borenstein, who wasn't heard
- 23:19how he's somewhere in the five hundred block of Royal Street. All Day also
- 23:26stated that he did not know what dates Ruby bought these paintings. And that's
- 23:33about it for the FBI document taken by a special agent John Miller in New
- 23:41Orleans from November twenty, seventy sixty three. Again, so why is this
- 23:49guy interesting? Well, all September seventeenth, nineteen sixty three, Oswald visited
- 24:00the Mexican Consulate in New Orleans, where he was a sixteen gay tourist card
- 24:07number two four zero eighty five. The man whose tourists card was apparently issued
- 24:12directly before Oswaltz was William George Gaudette, who told the FBI on eleven twenty
- 24:18seven that he was a former employee of the CIA, impairing information garnered from
- 24:27Oswaltz and Cauday's tourist card applications. Two things are possibly significant. First,
- 24:37all of the nineteen people who appeared that the consulate on September seventeenths had their
- 24:41names listed in BC seventy five in the order of first name, middle last
- 24:48name, except for Oswald and Gaudett. The former's name was mistakenly inverted Harvey
- 24:56Oswald Lee in the latter's let's as Gaudette William George. This is probably innocent,
- 25:06as Oswald's inversion was plausibly explained by the bunching together of Harvey Oswald on
- 25:17his application, thus suggesting Lee was his last name, as Gaudette probably filled
- 25:25out his application Baudet William George, and he appeared before Oswald. This might
- 25:30have influenced a consulate employee to think Oswald's name was an inversion as well.
- 25:36Researchers are free to come up with other explanations from this coincidence. Another minor
- 25:41point is that of the nineteen people appearing on nine seventeen, only Gaudet,
- 25:47Oswald and one other person and Arthur C. Mason a six month tourist card
- 25:56listed tourist as the purpose of their trip. I guess the others were business
- 26:03or a vacation. Curiously enough, god Day's name appears in the hearings and
- 26:10exhibits on a completely different matter. Commission Document to eight eight zero NFBI report
- 26:18relates to William George Goldett telephone in the New Orleans FBI regarding Jack Ruby buying
- 26:25paintings from Lorenzo Bornstein and or New Orleans. So yeah, we uh we
- 26:34got that one. Um, this one is interesting. A little bit more
- 26:45on galdebt okay, and this comes from an interview of mister Golday Baldet I'll
- 26:57say both ways, get off my ass by Budge Finsterwal in nineteen seventy five.
- 27:11He writes that gall Day is now sixty seven years of age and in
- 27:15poor health. Sin I retired rights for local newspaper. During World War Deuce
- 27:23gall Day worked as a secret agent in Latin America for Nelson Rockafella, coordinator
- 27:30of Latin American affairs under FDR. He switched over to the CIA in nineteen
- 27:36forty seven and worked for them until nineteen sixty nine. During this time he
- 27:41published Latin American newsletter in Latin American Report, which he claims were one hundred
- 27:47percent commercial ventures and not CIA fronts. Okay, George. However, he
- 27:52traveled constantly in Latin America and combined his commercial work with the CIA. Assignments
- 28:00the Ladder, according to him, were basically uncompensated. H'carry George. Some
- 28:04expenses were paid up four f the CIA and done for patriotic purposes. There
- 28:12were three others in the New Orleans area who did likewise. Was one of
- 28:19them clay Shaw. There George all Day, as a right wingers, generally
- 28:26disliked names change. He kept the CIA activities very secret, not even Tony,
- 28:34his wife. He only told the FBI in nineteen sixty three. He
- 28:40told, never told anyone else. Latin American newsletter cost fifty teen dollars a
- 28:48week. Go damn, that's highway robbery in the sixties, Jesus. But
- 28:55the CIA and the KGB had an access and excess of twenty subscryptians and lord,
- 29:03which means that each of the subsidized no, which means that each of
- 29:10them subsidized all day to the tune of more than fifteen thousand dollars annually,
- 29:17which wasn't too bad in the sixties. So he was compensated in other ways,
- 29:26even if not directly. You know what I'm saying. As to the
- 29:30JFK sling, he believes the Warn report is a fairy tale which shall become
- 29:36completely unglued very soon. He believes that antichastro forces were involved, and personally
- 29:41believes that they had a right JFK. He thinks the plot was hatched soon
- 29:48after the Bay of Pigs and came to fruition in nineteen sixty three. As
- 29:55to happen the Mexican travel permit serially next to Oswald's, call Day explains that
- 30:00it was a complete the incidents and then he never met Oswald. He backs
- 30:08and yeah, he backs and fills on whether he flew to Maritta or Mexico
- 30:18City. What is more interest is the fact that he was interviewed three times
- 30:23by FBI about it. Before telling them anything, he checks with Bill,
- 30:29the CIA station chief in New Orleans, who in turn checks with Langley,
- 30:33and it has decided that call Day should answer questions regarding the Mexican trip,
- 30:38but nothing more, and FBI promises to keep gall Day's name to itself and
- 30:45save his cover. Apparently they did so until nineteen seventy two, when his
- 30:51name was inadvertently declassified. Galday says the FBI report about his having reported Ruby's
- 30:57buying paintings from Boringsteam, it is a complete fabrication. He didn't know either
- 31:03Bornstein or Ruby, and he wouldn't volunteer at the time of Day to the
- 31:07FBI, well that's that's goddamn odd right. Why would somebody, Why would
- 31:15somebody telephone and a tip to the FBI about some random Jack Ruby buying a
- 31:22painting in New Orleans? Once, that's weird. Well day. He says
- 31:30he never met Oswalt, and then he only observed him on a sea.
- 31:37In any event, he describes him as a miserable little creature who would do
- 31:41anything for money, like believes he was being financed by someone. Seriously doubts
- 31:52if he could have pulled off the rifle fire and Daily Plasma as LHA was
- 31:59terribly nervous and disorganized. So for somebody who doesn't know jack shit about Oswald,
- 32:06he's sure sounds like he knows a lot about Oswald, you know what
- 32:09I'm saying. Believes that LHO worked both sides of the Cuban street and quotes
- 32:19doesn't really admit to knowing what he was up to. Rumored to have an
- 32:22office in a building immediately across the street from the trademark. He knew that
- 32:28LHO went to Mexico by bus without DAT and drive and CIA set up in
- 32:32New Orleans in detail large offices with approximately redactive people similar to CIA set up
- 32:43in all ports, unmarked office and listed phones New Orleans office headed by Bill
- 32:51and quotes a lawyer prominent family Debutan daughter. Since learned that Bill is redacted
- 33:00and offices redacted. CIA New Orleans closed circuit. The Langley CIA only paid
- 33:14goll Day's special travel expenses when their tasks and be done on his regular trips.
- 33:22All Day was once flund to Langley to brief CIA on Latin American affairs.
- 33:27Laughs when he thinks of Rockefeller as head of a commission to study either
- 33:30the CIA or Dallas. Ferry New Lho and Shaw. But Shaw wasn't CIA
- 33:39and had nothing to do with Dallas. Okay, thanks e. Howard.
- 33:46Hunt knows more about Dallas than any other person he can think of. Hunt
- 33:52was God to the Cubans, and he is certain that the CIA sent Hunt
- 33:58out immediately after Dallas to see what he could find out about a quote human
- 34:01connection. All Day knows of Lho's cousin, Marilyn Merritt, and then diligence
- 34:08connection capacity says that Sergio or conscious Smith should be cross examined if alive and
- 34:17subpoena bull. Subpoena a bull. On June fifteenth, nineteen seventy eight,
- 34:25after Golday testified this committee that his last contact with the CIA was during the
- 34:35year nineteen sixty nine, though he has never formally terminated his relationship with the
- 34:40CIA. We just kind of stopped calling each other, you know, just
- 34:45kind of fell off, just a you know, grew apart, basically.
- 34:50M Mister Garday also testified concerning S Special Agent Miller's November twenty seven report,
- 34:59which were accorded Allday's agency affiliation. Calday stated he revealed his CI emplumentum after
- 35:08I checked out the CIA, and it was supposed to have been super classified.
- 35:13It was never to be released, and it was the circumstances the CIA
- 35:17gave me authority to tell the all. Day added that the head of the
- 35:22CIA in New Orleans was with me when I made it the disclosure call.
- 35:28Day testified that it travels to Merida, Mexico on September nineteenth and into Central
- 35:34and South America was not an intelligence related activity. Whatever he did state,
- 35:38I won't make a blanket statement. I did not. I just don't recall
- 35:44the Select Committee question mister Calday regarding his knowledge of Lee Harvey Oswald, Well,
- 35:49they testified to practice the assassination. He did not know Oswald, but
- 35:54had observed him not from his office at the International Trademark in New Orleans,
- 36:00passing out fair play for Cuba pamphlets. I remember specifically that Lila Pinson,
- 36:07who worked for me, wanted me to talk to him and do a story
- 36:10on him. The man so impressed me that I was not interested in doing
- 36:15a story, and since I was, I'm sorry. The man so unimpressed
- 36:22me that I was not interested in doing a story, and since I was
- 36:25the boss, I said no. All Day further stated that he had observed
- 36:32Oswald in conversation with Guide Banister. I saw him Banister in deep conversation with
- 36:39Lee Harvey Oswald on a champ Street, right by the post office box.
- 36:45They were leaning over and talking, and it was an earnest conversation. What
- 36:51it was about, I don't know. All Day further testified that Oswald and
- 36:55Banister appeared to be acquainted with each other, and the Banister was requesting Oswald
- 37:00to do something for him. Call Day's only other knowledge of Oswald came through
- 37:07her friend named Ed Butler, who had conducted an interview for radio with Oswald,
- 37:15to which gall Day remembered listening to So there's our adventures in William gall
- 37:24day Land, folks. For somebody who doesn't know a lot, here there's
- 37:34a lot, you know what I'm saying. Yeah, here's a fun one.
- 37:42From January twenty eight, nineteen sixty four, CIA documentary informant advised that
- 37:52he had been in contact with one Manuel Noriega, communications man of the df
- 38:01AS in Mexico City. Noriega advised that won Gloria Sariago, a relative of
- 38:12Amalia Castilla Laedoon, sub Secretary Public Education, Mexico City, had crossed the
- 38:22border at the Radio Texas in late November of nineteen sixty three, and while
- 38:28talking to an American immigration officer who was shown a photograph of the subject.
- 38:31Lee Harvey Oswald and Jack Ribby both these individuals in the same photograph. The
- 38:38photo was supposedly taken in October sixty three. According to the third hand information,
- 38:45Gloria Tyaga is an employee of the Commercial Transports of Mexico City, phone
- 38:52number thirty Dash seventeen Dash eighty seven to this thing into resting. Next up,
- 39:04we have a now Joe Tannehill, who was a Ruby's trial lawyer,
- 39:12now. Joe Tannehill was inducted into the Crowd Lawyer Hall of Fame in twenty
- 39:16eighteen. And here's a quick two minutes induction ceremony for Joe Tanehill, back
- 39:28Ruby's Lawyer. You know I think this here it is. Joe Tannehill was
- 39:39born in nineteen fourteen. He attended the University of Texas before becoming a lawyer
- 39:45in Jasper, Texas. A former wrestler, Tanehill was six feet four and
- 39:50weighed over three hundred pounds. Joe Tannehill was a larger than life legal giant
- 39:54who, coming from humble beginnings, made it his life's work to be a
- 39:59people's lawyer, while earning international acclaim along the way. In nineteen thirty five,
- 40:05Tannahill enrolled at the University of Texas to study law, but graduated in
- 40:08nineteen forty one from the American University College of Law. During World War Two,
- 40:14Tannahill served in the Navy. After the war, he moved to Jasper
- 40:17to start a law practice with Joe Fisher. He practiced law in Jasper for
- 40:22more than half a century, but he also tried cases all across the country,
- 40:25including his highly publicized presence on the Jack Ruby defense team when in November
- 40:30nineteen sixty three he was employed by Jack Ruby as his attorney and worked with
- 40:34Melvin Belli on defending him against the charge of murdering Lee Harvey oswald Tonahill distinguished
- 40:38himself as a co founder of the American Trial Lawyers Association and went on to
- 40:43co found the Texas Trial Lawyers Association, where he served as president, as
- 40:47well as the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, International Academy of Trial Lawyers,
- 40:52and the International Society of Barristers. He was also a pioneer in worker
- 40:57protection, product liability, juror reform, and other areas. Joe's son,
- 41:02Joe Tannehill Jr. Said of his father, he worked hard on his cases
- 41:07and seemed to take them very personally. He lived the law and breathed it.
- 41:15What a lovely, lovely induction ceremony from mister Joe Tannehill. He was
- 41:23quoted as saying, I always hated to see my cases in because the experience
- 41:29was so exhilarating. All right, So this is an FBI document from the
- 41:43Las Vegas office to the Director of the FBI Jaka Hiva and Dallas, dated
- 41:53March seventeen sixty seven. This date, Howard Goodwin, Associate director of Sales
- 42:02at the Sahara Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada, and former special Agent of
- 42:09the FBI, advised the American Trial Lawyers Association as presently conducting a seminar at
- 42:15the Sahara. Goodwin stated that in connection with this seminar, that Joe Tonnehill
- 42:22of jazz Per Texas and a co council and the Jack Ruby Case will hold
- 42:25a press conference at eleven am on March the eighteenth at the Sahara Hotel.
- 42:34That work television coverage has been arranged for this press conference, in addition to
- 42:37coverage by national press representatives. At this conference, Hannah Hill allegedly planned to
- 42:44disclose three items bearing on the death of Lee Harvey Oswald and Jack Ruby.
- 42:51Item one, Oswald died as a result of a shop brought and run by
- 42:57the improper administration of medications in the hospital in Dallas, Texas. An item
- 43:04too, the cancer from which Jack Ruby died so widespread that it had to
- 43:10have been artificially introduced into his body. The third item is to be disclosed,
- 43:16but the third item to be disclosed by Joe Tommy Hill is not known
- 43:21the good one yet The above is submitted to the Bureau in Dallas for information
- 43:27only. So apparently Tommy Hill had information that they actually the gunshot didn't kill
- 43:43Oswald. It was improper administration of medications in the hospital is what killed him.
- 43:50See it wasn't Jack Ruby. And that the cancer from which Jack Ruby
- 43:57died was so widespread that it had to have been artificially introduced into his body
- 44:04just had to be, had to be. According to the official record,
- 44:17Jack Ruby helled by what is it called an embolism due to lung cancer.
- 44:32Um Dallas Deputy Sheriff Albant exclaimed that Ruby told me, he said, well,
- 44:42they injected me for a cold. He said it was cancer sales.
- 44:45That's what he told me. Ruby did. I said, you don't believe
- 44:49that bullshit? He said, I damn sure do. One day, when
- 44:52I started to leave, Ruby shook hands with me and I just deal a
- 44:55piece of paper in boom. It was a note in which Ruby claimed that
- 45:00he was part of the conspiracy and then the roll was to silence Oswald.
- 45:07That long before Ruby died. According to an article in the London and The
- 45:10London Sunday Times. Yeah. Build psychiatrist Warner puter that the assassination was an
- 45:20active overthrowing the government, and then he knew who had President Kennedy killed.
- 45:23He added, I am doomed. I do not want to die. I'm
- 45:27not insane. I framed. It's still Oswald. Now. I've also read
- 45:37and tried to find where I found it, but it's very difficult to find.
- 45:44But that Ruby actually had cancer, I believe in the early sixties,
- 45:53and he knew it, and of course they treated him for it and every
- 46:00thing else, but he knew he was not long for this world. Um
- 46:05or maybe he didn't. I don't know how they viewed cancer back in the
- 46:09early sixties. That they viewed as a distance, they viewed as as something
- 46:15that was treatable, to say, oh man, you got cancer. Now,
- 46:20you know, here, take these vitamins and these pills, and you
- 46:23know, it'll keep you alive as long as we possibly can, but definitely
- 46:28it's going to get you. You know, you might have a couple of
- 46:30years. And maybe that's why Ruby was so working out every days, swimming
- 46:37at the buy, taking all these vitamins and pills to try to, you
- 46:42know, keep him going. Um, maybe it was that was because of
- 46:45his cancer diagnosis, But to say that, you know, he was injected
- 46:52with the rapid form of cancer, it's just is ridiculous. He always had
- 46:58the cancer in him, who just finally got him in nineteen sixty seven.
- 47:04Probably along with his you know, stress and anxiety and being prisoned for four
- 47:10years, probably wasn't very helpful to him because he probably can't get the proper
- 47:20medical care that he could have but he could have gotten had he not been
- 47:24inforce rated. That is often heard myth. See here George Faraldo, he
- 47:46is a former manager of the key West Airport, reported seeing Oswald and Ruby
- 47:52in the key West terminal going their way to Cuba with fair Play for Cuba
- 47:57Group, a former contract for the US Information Agency Serial Auto Audio and Photo
- 48:04Reconnaissance expert key West. So what this guy saying is Miami by Airtel dated
- 48:17eight twenty five, seventy six submitted an LHM reporting results of interview with George
- 48:23Farrado at Qwest, Florida. Farrado advised and in his elite for the In
- 48:29the late summer of sixty two or early sixty three, a group of persons
- 48:35known as Fair Played for Cuba, assemboled at the Qwest Airport while waiting the
- 48:38arrival of a Cuban transport aircraft. Farrado claims that Jack Ruby and Lee Harvey
- 48:45Oswald were in this group the plans and took those still photographs and movie film
- 48:51of this group. He alleges he mailed the movie film to Ralph Rennick,
- 48:55a news reporter in Miami, for whom he worked as a stringer, and
- 49:00he mailed the still film ground and below to the FBI headquarters. He stated
- 49:07he included a note in the envelope which stated only fair play for Cuba.
- 49:10Miami is continuing investigation. This advises Miami and Dallas of results of the indices,
- 49:17SIRT. So that would be interesting if we had photos and movies of
- 49:25Oswald and Ruby together that mysteriously disappeared. Shocker, all right. Next up,
- 49:37it's more fbis in view of the extensive inquiry into the revel hosting controversy
- 49:45during the assassination investigation, it does not believed further comment warranted as the facts
- 49:50of this matter still are well known to the Bureau. From the comments on
- 49:53page seventeen and twenty one concerning Oswald being known to the FBI it was likely
- 49:59re years will again question why the Dallas PD was not alerted to Oswald's presence
- 50:04in Dallas. The Bureau is well aware that the criteria for alerting the local
- 50:08police agencies to entertain individuals did not require such notification at the time of the
- 50:14assassination. On page forty six, Exhibit eleven, there's a photograph were reflecting
- 50:21officers examined an area for bullet fragments. One hunder Widchard states in part an
- 50:27FBI agent Griff Bill Decker and the Dallas Police officer inspect the area for bullet
- 50:32fragments and comments on page forty six that a bystander, James Tay, claimed
- 50:37to have been cut on their cheek by ricochet from a bullet which struck a
- 50:42curb, and that a visible mark was left on the curb, but was
- 50:45almost entirely ignored by the FBI until months later. Dallas teletype to Bureau in
- 50:52New Orleans dated well fifteen sixty seven, pointed out to the Bureau that Deputy
- 50:57Sheriff Buddy Walters, DA County Sheriff's office ceased and reportedly stated he was the
- 51:07individual appearing in the photograph rather than Sheriff Decker Dallas Air Telly Bureau dated twelve,
- 51:13nineteen sixty seven, pointed out that efforts to identify the alleged federal agent
- 51:20and such photograph were naked on page sixty one. Dallas Police Chief Jense Curry
- 51:31states that about ten months after the assassination, Dallas Deputy Sheriff Roger Craig discussed
- 51:38the shooting with mister Missus Arnold Rowland, and then Arnold Rowland indicated he had
- 51:44looked up at the Tennis school Book Depository window and noticed two men standing together
- 51:49in the window. One man was holding a rifle, standing with the other
- 51:54man a few feet back from the corner on the sixth floor. Curry states
- 52:00that mister and Missus Roland were then referred to the FBI, who interviewed them,
- 52:07but no statement about the second man or mentioned of an accomplice appeared in
- 52:09the FBI reports. The reports of Special Agent Mother Jimberling, dated November thirty
- 52:19or sixty three, reflect the interviews with Arnold Roland and also set forth background
- 52:23investigation concerning Roland. Next up December six, sixty three. Missus Tony Henderson,
- 52:38Graie Creek, Dallas, Texas, fronts the following information. One November
- 52:45twenty sec nineteen sixty three, at approximately twelve fifteen pm, who was standing
- 52:50on the east side of Llan Street, just north of Houston Street, awaiting
- 52:53the passing of the presidential motorcade. He said, shortly after she arrived,
- 52:59and just prior to the arrival of the motorcade, she recalls an ambulance arriving
- 53:02in department areas to pick him an individual and she understood an epileptic fit.
- 53:09Missus Henderson said, after the ambulance departed the area, he heard a woman
- 53:15in the Dallas County Records Building located in the southwest corner of Elmy Houston,
- 53:20Yale YEAH Woodman, which is the Dallas High School. Then she looked in
- 53:27the direction from which the Yale emanated, She said. She thereafter swung around
- 53:32and looked in the building in which she works, the building located on the
- 53:39southeast corner of Almany Houston, and thence around to the Textas school Book Depository
- 53:45building. She said she observed numerous people on the various floors looking out of
- 53:52the windows of the Texas school Book Depository falls. We saw two men on
- 53:59one of the upper floors of the building. She said she recalls one of
- 54:04the men had on a white shirt and one a dark shirt. She said
- 54:08only shibserve these men from the waist up and does not know what their other
- 54:14attire consistent of. She said these men were standing back from the window and
- 54:22she got the impression that they were working and yet looking out the window.
- 54:28Said he saw these men before the motorcade reached Houston and Elm, but doesn't
- 54:32have any idea how long it was prior to the motorcade arriving at that location.
- 54:38Who said she believed person in the white shirt had dark hair and was
- 54:45possibly a Mexican, but could have been a Negro as he appeared to be
- 54:50dark complexioned, and said she couldn't describe the other person other than the fact
- 54:55that he was taller or appeared taller than the aforementioned individual. Now just an
- 55:06aside here, folks, and this is just the spitballing, of course,
- 55:14you know, and in previous shows and through various other testimony and evidence and
- 55:20all of that jazz, you know, I think we've established that mister Bonnie
- 55:24Ray Williams, we know was up on the sixth floor like the school book
- 55:30depository. I believe he qualifies as a light skinned Negro and could possibly appear
- 55:38as a Mexican or no from you know, stair distance away. You know,
- 55:50you know, we know that guys owned admission. Ray was up on
- 55:53the sixth floor. Possibly it's like a twelve fifteen, twelve twenty five,
- 56:00which is when this woman and the rolland say that they saw two men up
- 56:05there in the window. Now, from photos of Bonnie Ray being arrested and
- 56:15stuffed unceremoniously in the back of the hop card, you know, the arrest
- 56:22of the floor crew, we see the Bonnie y Williams has on a dark
- 56:28shirt, and we know that Oswald was likely wearing a white T shirt that
- 56:34day, which is what several people said that he saw him working in.
- 56:39He probably had on a button up shirt. It probably took it off while
- 56:45he was working, so he was just in a white T shirt and he
- 56:47had dark hair. So my assumption is that possibly Henderson that these two individuals
- 56:58shirts mixed up and actually the the Negro had on the dark colored shirt and
- 57:02the white haired or the white dark haired man had on the white tshirt,
- 57:10which can give us Bonnie Ray being up on the sixth floor with Oswald or
- 57:21Inn Oswald or some other random white dude that looked like Oswald who may have
- 57:30told him, look, man, I'm going to kill the president when he
- 57:35goes by here. Your best bet would be to get the fuck out of
- 57:38here. You say anything, I'll fucking kill you. I know who you
- 57:44are, I know where your family lives. I will fucking kill you.
- 57:49And then Williams hottails it down the floor, tells these other two cats what
- 57:53he what he just saw, and then it goes down and they gets ed
- 58:00shitless. Take them up with some cockamamie ass story. I'm just saying it's
- 58:06not out of the realm of possibility, folks, you know, just saying,
- 58:15possibly could have happened, Barrett in my mind. Next up from the
- 58:24HSCA in March fifteenth, nineteen seventy eight, from an interview with Joseph Goulden.
- 58:34Goulden Robert Jensman interviewed Joseph Golden at his home concerning an article which Goulden
- 58:40wrote in the Philadelphia Inquirer the eighth, nineteen sixty three. A legend.
- 58:45At the FBI, they tried to recruit Lee Harvey Oswald as an informant In
- 58:51nineteen sixty three, Golden stated that he obtained the story from two sources,
- 58:58Dallas Deputy Sheriff Allen's Sweat, now deceased, in an individual he declined to
- 59:04identify. He did state that Alonzo Lonny Hunkins was not the source who had
- 59:12stated that he relied on the word of his sources and never obtained any other
- 59:15evidence substantiating the allegation. He believes that his sources were relied important the fact
- 59:21that the FBI agent James P. Hosty's telephone number was found in Oswald's notebook,
- 59:27and possibly on the fact that an informant number was found among Oswald's possessions
- 59:32after his arrest on November twenty two, nineteen sixty three, who had stated
- 59:37that his memory on these matters is unclear, left in arresting. Instead,
- 59:52we have a Secret Service memo random from November the tw nineteen sixty three,
- 1:00:01information obtained at the Dallas office. During the interview of the subject's wife,
- 1:00:08it would be my Marina. She advised that the FBI had contacted her about
- 1:00:15the location of her husband ten days prior to the assassination, and she had
- 1:00:22told them that her husband worked in the building from which the president had been
- 1:00:25killed. She also stated that she had been interviewed in October and leave the
- 1:00:31same basic information to the FBI. I was at the police station. I
- 1:00:37engaged an FBI agent in conversation and found out that he was on the subversive
- 1:00:42desk. He stated that Oswald had contacted who knows subversive agents about fifteen days
- 1:00:50before the shooting, but the entire inflammation was top secret and he could not
- 1:00:54tell us anymore, but he thought sure that the file would be turned over
- 1:00:59to our chief. The wife also advised that she had seen the rifle that
- 1:01:05was used in the shooting at her home about three weeks before the shooting.
- 1:01:09She advised that she was a Castro supporter and Communist, and from the interview
- 1:01:15it felt like she is still a hardcore communist. He stated that he had
- 1:01:21never mentioned killing the president, but would not mention anything about shooting Connolly.
- 1:01:27It stated that she did not know the man that killed her husband. It
- 1:01:32was felt by the interview that she was not telling the truth and still believes
- 1:01:38firmly in communism. William H. Patterson Special Agents, So there you haven't
