- 0:06Speaker 1: Is the Doge dividend dead today. We'll break it down

- 0:10Speaker 1: crypto market as well as so much more. You guys
- 0:13Speaker 1: don't want to miss it. My name is Small Barre.

- 0:45Speaker 1: Let's go over to a coverage that we have done
- 0:48Speaker 1: a few months ago, and it was in reference to
- 0:51Speaker 1: the promise and the idea of a Doze dividend.
- 0:54Speaker 2: Now everybody remembers Doze.
- 0:55Speaker 1: The Department of Government Efficiency led by Elon Musk. But
- 0:59Speaker 1: really what this was all about was the potential of
- 1:02Speaker 1: savings for the American people and then taking those savings
- 1:06Speaker 1: and allowing those savings to be actually paid back to
- 1:10Speaker 1: Americans for all this overage and abuse that existed. Very
- 1:14Speaker 1: big proponent we were of that problem was is that
- 1:19Speaker 1: part of it started failing when we got the promise
- 1:23Speaker 1: of the Department of Governed Efficiency doing a live feed
- 1:27Speaker 1: of all the savings that were going to be done,
- 1:30Speaker 1: and of course right here the website will improve with
- 1:32Speaker 1: updates real time. Never happened, guys, never happened. So even
- 1:36Speaker 1: with all those great engineers, this did not come about.
- 1:39Speaker 1: And this, I think is where one of the maybe
- 1:41Speaker 1: the first few times that Elon has actually been in
- 1:45Speaker 1: a situation where he has failed going it on things
- 1:49Speaker 1: like this. So I want to go to a clip
- 1:51Speaker 1: because this is where Elon actually gives up.
- 1:54Speaker 2: Take a look.
- 1:54Speaker 3: He said this week he's pulling back from politics.
- 1:58Speaker 4: I'm going to do a lot in the future.
- 2:00Speaker 5: And why is that.
- 2:03Speaker 6: I think I've done enough. Disappointed to see the massive
- 2:07Speaker 6: spending bill, frankly, and that reminds the work that the
- 2:10Speaker 6: NOOS team is doing.
- 2:11Speaker 2: Everything He's done on dose gets wiped out in the
- 2:14Speaker 2: first year.
- 2:15Speaker 7: Were you so surprised though, that he was so public
- 2:17Speaker 7: about it.
- 2:18Speaker 8: The only thing that would ever surprise me about Elon
- 2:20Speaker 8: Musk is if he bit his tongue.
- 2:22Speaker 1: Yea, all right, So you can kind of tell just
- 2:25Speaker 1: by the body language there. Elon looks a bit defeated here. Obviously,
- 2:28Speaker 1: the tax bill and the spending bill all combined, I
- 2:32Speaker 1: think sets back a lot of what he was trying
- 2:34Speaker 1: to do. Granted, many of what he was trying to
- 2:37Speaker 1: do just either did not get executed. Maybe it's the
- 2:39Speaker 1: blue you know, the red tape that is required there
- 2:41Speaker 1: in DC around all of this. But he paid a
- 2:44Speaker 1: heavy price for this. Elon must net favorability right here
- 2:49Speaker 1: since Trump, which right there January first, you guys can
- 2:52Speaker 1: kind of see this, Let me kind of zoom in
- 2:54Speaker 1: on that for you, net favorability is down negative almost
- 2:57Speaker 1: fifteen percent. So Tasla has paid the price. Tesla owners
- 3:02Speaker 1: have paid the price going forward. Now, the idea of
- 3:05Speaker 1: doge was actually a very good idea. This was the
- 3:08Speaker 1: architect of it. He was the original guy, James Fishback.
- 3:10Speaker 1: He was a CEO of Azoria. He was the one
- 3:14Speaker 1: proposing the idea of hey, with these dividends, with these savings,
- 3:18Speaker 1: let's go back and actually pay some of this back
- 3:20Speaker 1: to the American taxpayer.
- 3:21Speaker 2: The idea was just rock solid, and maybe still is today.
- 3:25Speaker 1: If there could be some architecture for that to be done,
- 3:29Speaker 1: if Trump could actually follow through with that, maybe with
- 3:32Speaker 1: different functions coming out of DC, because you've got to
- 3:35Speaker 1: be able to play the political game, and I don't
- 3:36Speaker 1: think Elan was prepared for the kind of politics that
- 3:40Speaker 1: play out in DC. Now Here is where Fishback, the
- 3:44Speaker 1: author of Doge, defends some of the things that happen.
- 3:47Speaker 7: Take a look the man whose idea it is not Elon,
- 3:53Speaker 7: it is James Fishback. Those keeps getting shit wrong, James.
- 3:58Speaker 7: And if they just did it and then got it
- 4:00Speaker 7: all right and came out with it once, instead of
- 4:03Speaker 7: Elon having a wave around a chain saw, you wouldn't
- 4:05Speaker 7: get as much scrutiny.
- 4:07Speaker 4: Yeah, so everyone's going to get stuff wrong, Chris. What
- 4:10Speaker 4: I think the issue is is that at least Doge
- 4:13Speaker 4: is admitting it. So I'm not going to hold Doze
- 4:15Speaker 4: and I don't think any Americans should to this perfection standard.
- 4:18Speaker 1: All Right, So some of the points that they made,
- 4:20Speaker 1: that he made with Chris Cuomo there. Of course, some
- 4:22Speaker 1: of it has been around the mistakes that are made
- 4:24Speaker 1: and when you look at the efficiency side of government.
- 4:27Speaker 1: The point is is that these were designed to be
- 4:29Speaker 1: audits look for fraud and abuse, and these should have
- 4:33Speaker 1: very cut and dry situations. An audit is just that
- 4:36Speaker 1: an audit.
- 4:37Speaker 2: It's accurate almost to the penny.
- 4:39Speaker 1: And I think that's where some of this failed on
- 4:42Speaker 1: what Elon was trying to do.
- 4:43Speaker 2: And you go a.
- 4:44Speaker 1: Little bit further, and this is something that I never
- 4:47Speaker 1: really understood because we kind of had an anticipation that
- 4:50Speaker 1: the blockchain would solve a lot of these problems. Here's
- 4:54Speaker 1: a clip from Steve Bannon. Take a look at this.
- 4:56Speaker 3: I think with Elon before he leaves, we need to
- 4:59Speaker 3: have accounting. He's questioned the integrity of the system. We
- 5:03Speaker 3: need to have a very specific accounting and I mean details.
- 5:07Speaker 3: Treasury's got to sign off that ow Andb's got to
- 5:09Speaker 3: sign off in every department. Hit because he went from
- 5:11Speaker 3: two three in a year to one hundred and fifty
- 5:12Speaker 3: billion dollars next year with nothing this year. None of
- 5:15Speaker 3: this makes sense. The cuts you've seen that have been
- 5:18Speaker 3: announced are programmatic. That's a totally different thing, and that
- 5:22Speaker 3: has to happen I think in the month of May, and.
- 5:24Speaker 4: Sounds like you don't trust him not to take data.
- 5:27Speaker 3: Trust but Verify.
- 5:30Speaker 5: All right?
- 5:30Speaker 1: I like that trust with Verify. That's the point. Blockchain
- 5:33Speaker 1: is the way to get this done. The question is
- 5:35Speaker 1: is whether or not the American government would actually try
- 5:38Speaker 1: to do something like this because it would hold accountability
- 5:41Speaker 1: at the highest level. Maybe that is what Elon was seeing.
- 5:45Speaker 1: I don't know, or was it something else. Was there
- 5:47Speaker 1: a lot of his own ideas that he was trying
- 5:50Speaker 1: to implement that would benefit his companies. There's many things
- 5:53Speaker 1: that people are speculating around this right now.
- 5:56Speaker 2: Now.
- 5:57Speaker 1: Elon is now being questioned around his involvement with Tesla,
- 6:01Speaker 1: because remember he's now departed from Doze, so he didn't
- 6:04Speaker 1: see that through Granny wasn't there, supposed to be there
- 6:07Speaker 1: very long.
- 6:07Speaker 2: But the idea was get the job done. Didn't get done.
- 6:11Speaker 1: Now let's go do the job of running the company
- 6:14Speaker 1: that he should be running, which is Tesla.
- 6:15Speaker 2: Here's what he had to say. Take a look, so.
- 6:17Speaker 5: Now you committed to still being the chief executive of
- 6:20Speaker 5: Tesla in five years time. Yes, no doubt about that
- 6:26Speaker 5: at all. Does that mean that the value of your
- 6:29Speaker 5: pay doesn't have any bearing on your decision?
- 6:37Speaker 6: Well, that's not really, sorry discussion in this forum.
- 6:40Speaker 5: Your decision to be committed to Tesla for the next
- 6:44Speaker 5: five years as long as you are still with us
- 6:46Speaker 5: on this planet is completely independent to pay. No, it's
- 6:53Speaker 5: not independent. So pay is a relevant factor then to
- 6:56Speaker 5: your commitment to Tesla.
- 6:57Speaker 2: I can't be sitting there and one to get tossed out.
- 7:01Speaker 2: That will be unacceptable.
- 7:02Speaker 6: That's all that matters.
- 7:04Speaker 4: Now, let's move on.
- 7:05Speaker 5: Okay, Well just one question?
- 7:07Speaker 6: Move on?
- 7:08Speaker 1: Well, all right, So you can see very sensitive on
- 7:12Speaker 1: this issue. Many of this may be because of the
- 7:15Speaker 1: pay debacle that Elon went through about getting bonuses after
- 7:19Speaker 1: he achieved certain results. Part of this also could be
- 7:23Speaker 1: him being burned by DC. So there's just a lot
- 7:26Speaker 1: of issues I think that are facing Elon Musk and
- 7:29Speaker 1: the companies that he's involved in. So Tesla uh, definitely
- 7:32Speaker 1: in a different place.
- 7:33Speaker 6: Now.
- 7:33Speaker 1: The one company that are I guess initiative that he's
- 7:36Speaker 1: very focused on is this one right here, and that
- 7:39Speaker 1: is Xai. Xai is involved heavily with obviously x and
- 7:46Speaker 1: groc all of this eventually, I think will either tie
- 7:49Speaker 1: into two areas of where the potential of his empires
- 7:53Speaker 1: could flow, and that is going to be in the
- 7:54Speaker 1: AI side. I do think robotics is going to be
- 7:56Speaker 1: a big part of this, even though it's still very
- 7:58Speaker 1: very early for op to miss in some of the
- 8:00Speaker 1: things that are happening there. Full self driving, still struggling
- 8:05Speaker 1: with it completely getting done. We're going to see continuing challenges.
- 8:09Speaker 1: I think with Taslin. Now that the tax.
- 8:11Speaker 2: Credit is off the table, it is a very.
- 8:14Speaker 1: Difficult time I think for a lot of these companies,
- 8:16Speaker 1: and Elon is now starting to realize all of that.
- 8:19Speaker 1: Here is a little bit more of a clip that
- 8:22Speaker 1: may reveal how Elon maybe stepped away.
- 8:27Speaker 2: Take a look.
- 8:28Speaker 3: The first big fight we've had with Elon was over
- 8:31Speaker 3: Elon pushed Howard Lutnick and Bannon and war Room pushed
- 8:36Speaker 3: Scott Bessen and that got very nasty and mar Lago
- 8:38Speaker 3: I'll be blunt if Howard Lutnik had been Secretary of
- 8:40Speaker 3: the Treasury been an unmitigated disaster. And this is about
- 8:44Speaker 3: people putting their own interest first, like Elon, versus putting
- 8:49Speaker 3: the nation's interest first.
- 8:51Speaker 2: I first of all, I agree with that statement.
- 8:52Speaker 1: You cannot have your interest first if you're performing or
- 8:56Speaker 1: serving in public office.
- 8:58Speaker 2: It is the will of the people that you're trying
- 9:00Speaker 2: to do this for.
- 9:01Speaker 1: And if you guys remember there's actually been some X
- 9:05Speaker 1: drama out there where Besson and Elon actually got in
- 9:08Speaker 1: a shouting match. So and I think a lot of
- 9:10Speaker 1: this has been built around the whole issue around payments
- 9:13Speaker 1: and the issue that Elon was really messing up in
- 9:16Speaker 1: terms of trying to function on this new evolution of
- 9:20Speaker 1: what DOGE was well, Scott Bessen actually had some plans
- 9:24Speaker 1: that he thought would work and may actually work. One
- 9:27Speaker 1: of them was saving two billion that could be cut
- 9:30Speaker 1: from the IRS technology budget without disruptions, and that was
- 9:33Speaker 1: one of the key things that Elon really did not
- 9:37Speaker 1: do because he was causing a lot of disruptions mostly
- 9:40Speaker 1: because of personal interest, maybe personal interests to our companies,
- 9:44Speaker 1: personal interest towards certain kinds of benefits to the companies.
- 9:47Speaker 1: We don't really know the full extent of.
- 9:49Speaker 2: What it was. What we do know is the execution.
- 9:53Speaker 1: Was horrible, and I think he is now starting to
- 9:55Speaker 1: see and one of the reasons, of course, beyond just
- 9:58Speaker 1: the point of everybody pointing fingers at Elon Musk. He
- 10:01Speaker 1: is now he's starting to see his failings, especially around
- 10:04Speaker 1: someone like Besson, who has been running hedge funds for
- 10:08Speaker 1: quite some time. Not that you know Elon can't run companies,
- 10:11Speaker 1: but he's a great engineer. He's not an auditor. He's
- 10:14Speaker 1: not a guy that really understands the financial system. That's
- 10:16Speaker 1: where Besson comes in, and I think that's the big
- 10:18Speaker 1: factor going forward.
- 10:21Speaker 6: Now.
- 10:21Speaker 1: I want to go to another clip here, because this
- 10:22Speaker 1: is when Bessett came in and said, all right, we're
- 10:27Speaker 1: going to be able to draw the line in the sand.
- 10:28Speaker 2: Here. Take a look.
- 10:30Speaker 8: I guess I was going to ask, was you just
- 10:32Speaker 8: mentioned there were two people were working with respected does
- 10:34Speaker 8: at the time.
- 10:35Speaker 6: Yes, sir, that conversation was about a discussion of the
- 10:40Speaker 6: payment system.
- 10:41Speaker 8: He I got asked for the short version, oh, that.
- 10:45Speaker 6: It was people like this individual who were hitting send
- 10:48Speaker 6: on the payments. I've come to find out a huge part.
- 10:52Speaker 8: Of the cappologizic. Well, mister Ales had worked at mister
- 10:55Speaker 8: Musk's SpaceX company. This man resigned that individuals dominated.
- 11:00Speaker 3: He was terminated.
- 11:01Speaker 8: Okay, I appreciate that, although it appears that he then
- 11:04Speaker 8: later turned up that he was rehired, I guess.
- 11:07Speaker 6: And that he's continuing Treasury stirt. Okay, I didn't follow
- 11:10Speaker 6: his career. Okay.
- 11:11Speaker 8: Would you have brought him on in the capacity that
- 11:13Speaker 8: he had at the Department of Treasury?
- 11:16Speaker 6: I think the Office of Personal Management would have flagged
- 11:20Speaker 6: would you have brought him on? Sir? Again, I'm not
- 11:24Speaker 6: going to speculate the chair.
- 11:27Speaker 1: I Basically what he's saying is the guys that were
- 11:29Speaker 1: working for Elon, they were doing the various things, we
- 11:32Speaker 1: got rid of them. No, we're not going to bring
- 11:34Speaker 1: them back in to the office in any way, even
- 11:36Speaker 1: though they were attempted for a rehire. Now Bessett looks
- 11:39Speaker 1: at trying to restructure a lot of this, and many
- 11:42Speaker 1: of his ideas have been interesting. The question is, is
- 11:45Speaker 1: Kenny execute Here's a clip that kind of breaks down
- 11:48Speaker 1: how he's going to modernize the IRS.
- 11:50Speaker 6: The tech monetization program at the RS was begun in
- 11:54Speaker 6: nineteen ninety that the young man who I put in
- 11:58Speaker 6: charge of it was not even born then, so that
- 12:01Speaker 6: it's fifteen billion over budget, it's three and a half
- 12:05Speaker 6: billion a year budget. I think it's running on Cobal
- 12:09Speaker 6: which is work. So we are going to fix that,
- 12:13Speaker 6: and I think it could be substantial savings to the
- 12:16Speaker 6: American people because the IRS roughly processes as many transactions
- 12:22Speaker 6: as a mid size US bank.
- 12:24Speaker 1: The damage has been done over many decades. Besson is
- 12:29Speaker 1: attempting to try to go in and restructure a lot
- 12:31Speaker 1: of this. And even the guy who authored the idea
- 12:35Speaker 1: of DOZ this was James fishback on the idea. Here's
- 12:39Speaker 1: Charlie Kirk just asking which member of Trump's cabinet is
- 12:42Speaker 1: doing the best job right now? Bessant hands down, clearly
- 12:46Speaker 1: the way to go. So this has been one of
- 12:49Speaker 1: those scenarios that, of course has been a great idea,
- 12:51Speaker 1: did not get executed on. In fact, may have had
- 12:54Speaker 1: some other underlying things that were going on. So last
- 12:58Speaker 1: point I want to make here is if you are guys,
- 13:00Speaker 1: will remember this is kind of what got us so
- 13:02Speaker 1: charged on this thing, and that was that the idea
- 13:05Speaker 1: was that government efficiency programs would start to fall to
- 13:09Speaker 1: the blockchain and this is where no shenanigans could be done.
- 13:13Speaker 1: And I think that was the effort and the hope
- 13:16Speaker 1: of where it could go, but it never happened. That
- 13:19Speaker 1: was an article back in January. That was the future.
- 13:22Speaker 1: That was the idea, the hope, you know, the vision
- 13:25Speaker 1: of what could be with doge, and it actually became
- 13:30Speaker 1: poop instead of DOGE. Remember that Avalanche is already executing
- 13:36Speaker 1: on a lot of this, some of it has been
- 13:38Speaker 1: around FEMA and also the DMV California DMV. Remember if
- 13:41Speaker 1: you're running something of that stature and you're doing it
- 13:46Speaker 1: just as an l one or just as a side project,
- 13:48Speaker 1: imagine what you could do if you.
- 13:49Speaker 2: Really got investment and buy in from a government.
- 13:53Speaker 1: Entity like the US government. This is a big deal
- 13:55Speaker 1: that could really make a change in the future. With
- 13:58Speaker 1: all that being said, let's not forget well everything else
- 14:02Speaker 1: here in the United States around dose is not necessarily happening. Well,
- 14:05Speaker 1: we've got some things happening over in Dubai and that
- 14:09Speaker 1: is all being built right now on the XRP ledger.
- 14:12Speaker 1: And much of this is being done not only with
- 14:15Speaker 1: the idea of going on the ledger, but it's also
- 14:17Speaker 1: the transactions that are happening as well. Seven percent of
- 14:21Speaker 1: devised total property transactions now being executed on blockchain. Guys,
- 14:26Speaker 1: this is ridiculous for the United States to not be
- 14:29Speaker 1: this far along with one of the best technologies out there,
- 14:33Speaker 1: and it's a little bit demoralizing, especially when you think
- 14:36Speaker 1: about David Sachs, who is the guy who can make
- 14:40Speaker 1: a lot of this happen, is the czar for Crypto
- 14:42Speaker 1: and AI I don't understand.
- 14:44Speaker 2: I know he's a good.
- 14:44Speaker 1: Friend of Elon Musk and I understand that with the
- 14:47Speaker 1: podcast and all that, but the reality is there.
- 14:50Speaker 2: Is some opportunities here.
- 14:52Speaker 1: Execution can happen on the blockchain if we can get
- 14:55Speaker 1: the right people in there to get it done. If
- 14:58Speaker 1: you guys are not tuned in to the Diamond Circle,
- 15:01Speaker 1: that's our own special place for you guys, and it's
- 15:03Speaker 1: absolutely free. You can also communicate with me out there
- 15:06Speaker 1: on Telegram which is just in the link down below,
- 15:09Speaker 1: and follow me on x at Paul Baron. We'll catch
- 15:11Speaker 1: you next time right here on tech Path
