- 0:01Speaker 1: Am I the asshole? If I insist on believing in Bigfoot?
- 0:05Speaker 2: I don't know how insistent are you? Is this where
- 0:08Speaker 2: like the tables turn and now the paranormal person is
- 0:13Speaker 2: actually the asshole?
- 0:14Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 0:15Speaker 1: I guess we'll see. My family doesn't have faith in Bigfoot.
- 0:19Speaker 1: Well that's just depressing. I'm so sorry. That's really just
- 0:23Speaker 1: I do.
- 0:23Speaker 3: I hate to see it.
- 0:24Speaker 1: This last weekend, at a family party, folks started ridiculing
- 0:28Speaker 1: Bigfoot believers. I suggested that there's more physical evidence for
- 0:33Speaker 1: Bigfoot than Jesus.
- 0:38Speaker 3: Hi Caitlin Hi Kennessey. Oh, Happy New Year, creepy people.
- 0:45Speaker 3: Oh my gosh, it's the new year. It is. We
- 0:48Speaker 3: haven't been you since Christmas. This is true.
- 0:52Speaker 2: I know.
- 0:53Speaker 1: We did do a very important rerun I don't know
- 0:56Speaker 1: if you guys noticed on New Year's Day. It was
- 0:59Speaker 1: the rerun of the Chateau the Oregon Caves. Yeah, they
- 1:05Speaker 1: still need donations, and we got an email from them
- 1:08Speaker 1: saying that they still need help. So we did a
- 1:12Speaker 1: rerun of that to remind you guys, if you haven't donated,
- 1:15Speaker 1: to go donate to that because I would like it
- 1:17Speaker 1: to reopen.
- 1:19Speaker 2: Uh yeah, because it makes it really hard for us
- 1:22Speaker 2: to play in a trip there if they're not open.
- 1:25Speaker 2: I'm just saying, I mean, we could go, but we
- 1:28Speaker 2: might get arrested.
- 1:30Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:31Speaker 2: I just feel like in my current state, I just
- 1:33Speaker 2: don't think I can add trouble with.
- 1:36Speaker 3: Law enforcement to the mix. I've just kind of got
- 1:39Speaker 3: a lot on my plate. Yeah we do.
- 1:47Speaker 1: Yeah, you know what else we have on our plates?
- 1:51Speaker 1: What a new patreon we do? I call them just
- 1:56Speaker 1: patreo patrons.
- 1:57Speaker 3: What are they even called patron? We patre patrons. Yeah,
- 2:02Speaker 3: we have a new creepy person. We have two patrons.
- 2:06Speaker 3: We have two new ones, two new ones.
- 2:09Speaker 2: Yeah. I don't think we shouted them out yet, but
- 2:12Speaker 2: it's recent enough that I I'm not sure, so I'm
- 2:16Speaker 2: gonna check.
- 2:17Speaker 3: Oh we might have shouted her out already. H oh yeah.
- 2:23Speaker 1: Uh sweetened gee, I was like, I feel like we
- 2:26Speaker 1: didn't say their patreon name, but we said their real
- 2:30Speaker 1: name on accident.
- 2:32Speaker 2: I don't know if they care, if they cared or not,
- 2:35Speaker 2: but I don't know.
- 2:36Speaker 3: But you can let us know. Yeah, you're so sweet,
- 2:40Speaker 3: you can let us know. I see what you did there.
- 2:42Speaker 3: Oh and they're part of the never Bundy Tear.
- 2:44Speaker 1: Yeah, and then we have a new creepy, creepy person
- 2:48Speaker 1: at the creepy people tear super grams, super gram Hey,
- 2:53Speaker 1: you're super I'm so creative with the compliments.
- 2:57Speaker 3: Yeah, you're really You're really ailing it. They made it
- 3:02Speaker 3: easy for me. They knew I was having a rough
- 3:04Speaker 3: time and they just wanted, yeah, to make it easy
- 3:07Speaker 3: on my brain. It's it's all we can hope for. Really.
- 3:12Speaker 1: Yeah, Oh my gosh, So I just like went into
- 3:14Speaker 1: the transition and forgot to Oh the rest of our
- 3:18Speaker 1: show intro, which is, yeah, what is it? This is
- 3:22Speaker 1: PNW Haunts and Homicides, where we chat about true crime,
- 3:25Speaker 1: the paranormal, and all things spooky in the Pacific Northwest.
- 3:29Speaker 1: Yeah or the pnwf nasty.
- 3:33Speaker 3: And then we also do a tarot reading at the
- 3:35Speaker 3: end of every episode for a little deeper insight into
- 3:38Speaker 3: our top. And then you just got progressively quieter and
- 3:43Speaker 3: quieter and whispered the last word. I don't know. I
- 3:46Speaker 3: don't know what's going on. I don't know what does anymore.
- 3:51Speaker 3: I think we're doing it. I'm trying so hard. Yeah,
- 3:56Speaker 3: we I don't know if we talked about it, but
- 3:58Speaker 3: my word of the year is.
- 3:59Speaker 2: Try we have not talked about that.
- 4:05Speaker 3: I love that for you. That's my word of the year.
- 4:08Speaker 3: We're just trying, you know, we're just trying. So hey,
- 4:11Speaker 3: this is me trying. Taylor Swift.
- 4:13Speaker 1: Speaking of Taylor Swift, I watched the new eras for
- 4:17Speaker 1: docuseries and I just want to say, I was like
- 4:20Speaker 1: in a hole and that just kind of made me
- 4:23Speaker 1: feel better.
- 4:24Speaker 3: So if you're like filing the pest or whatever, I
- 4:26Speaker 3: don't know, watch the Taylor Swift eras to Docuseries on
- 4:30Speaker 3: Disney Plan not sponsored. Yeah.
- 4:33Speaker 2: I actually I found something significantly shorter that had I
- 4:39Speaker 2: feel like, kind of the same effect. It's like a
- 4:41Speaker 2: four second video clip and it's really changed.
- 4:46Speaker 3: It's really turned things around for me.
- 4:48Speaker 1: It's a secret video clip. It's hidden on her phone. Yeah,
- 4:53Speaker 1: you gotta have the password to get in there.
- 4:56Speaker 3: Oh no, oh no, no oh no oh no, it's
- 5:01Speaker 3: not from Chris. Not makes it worse.
- 5:08Speaker 2: I know, Stop you're making it so much worse. Everything
- 5:11Speaker 2: you say just makes it worse. No, I'm kind of
- 5:13Speaker 2: distract I know, I know. I'm very excited gonna we
- 5:19Speaker 2: are going to be having a new fuzzy creature joining
- 5:23Speaker 2: our family.
- 5:24Speaker 3: Oh are you announcing it. I thought you were keeping
- 5:26Speaker 3: it a secret.
- 5:28Speaker 2: Uh, I guess I didn't really given it much thought.
- 5:33Speaker 3: Could you told me it was a secret. I think
- 5:34Speaker 3: I just told you. I hadn't really told anybody else.
- 5:37Speaker 3: So this is a secret. No, it's just it was.
- 5:43Speaker 2: Late at night when we finished up making our initial arrangements,
- 5:49Speaker 2: and so I was like, okay, well, not everybody wants
- 5:52Speaker 2: to receive a text late at night announcing their puppy
- 5:57Speaker 2: to the world.
- 5:58Speaker 3: They don't belong in your life. Then that's true, you
- 6:02Speaker 3: know what, It's true. It's true.
- 6:06Speaker 2: Yeah, So we're not going to be able to bring
- 6:09Speaker 2: her home for a little bit because she's so so tiny.
- 6:15Speaker 3: She's so so dittle, little nugget.
- 6:19Speaker 2: Yeah, and I don't know if her eyes have opened
- 6:22Speaker 2: yet or not.
- 6:23Speaker 3: Fully, it's a cuss thing. Oh my god, she's so
- 6:29Speaker 3: so precious and I can't wait for her to come.
- 6:32Speaker 3: And they've at my hat's new pod dog pod Dog
- 6:34Speaker 3: and training. Yeah. Are you ready to get into the episode?
- 6:39Speaker 3: I guess so. I kind of switched things up on you.
- 6:43Speaker 1: Because I like to do that, all right, because I
- 6:47Speaker 1: wasn't feeling the episode I have written, and I have
- 6:50Speaker 1: a reason for that that I didn't really realize until I,
- 6:53Speaker 1: like last night, I was thinking about recording it, and
- 6:56Speaker 1: I was like, oh, that's emotional, Like what why am
- 7:00Speaker 1: I trying to do this?
- 7:02Speaker 3: Oh?
- 7:03Speaker 1: No, very emotional thing on top of like everything that's
- 7:08Speaker 1: going on in my brain.
- 7:09Speaker 3: So I was like, you know what, We're just not
- 7:11Speaker 3: gonna do it. We're not feeling it. So I have
- 7:13Speaker 3: a surprise for you. Okay, Oh yeah, I think I.
- 7:18Speaker 1: Scrolled through redd End until three am last nar shut up, Yeah,
- 7:23Speaker 1: and we're gonna I just pulled ten different things, So
- 7:27Speaker 1: I'm just gonna have you pick numbers until we finish
- 7:30Speaker 1: an episode.
- 7:32Speaker 3: Read what Oh my.
- 7:32Speaker 2: Gosh, Okay, so what you I don't know that I've
- 7:36Speaker 2: even told you, But I have some stuff that I've
- 7:39Speaker 2: been working on that's in a very similar vein oh brains.
- 7:43Speaker 3: Yeah. Is it spooky stuff or is it true crime stuff?
- 7:47Speaker 3: Could be a little bit of both. So pick a
- 7:49Speaker 3: number between one and ten. Okay, I'm gonna go with,
- 7:53Speaker 3: uh three. I knew you were going to pick three.
- 7:58Speaker 3: Should I not have picked No? I just knew that
- 8:01Speaker 3: was the number you're Oh, okay, I have an am
- 8:06Speaker 3: I the asshole? For you? Shut up.
- 8:09Speaker 2: Really, yeah, I was not expecting that because you like those.
- 8:14Speaker 3: I do like those. I know that.
- 8:16Speaker 2: I just was like, is there going to be an
- 8:19Speaker 2: am I the asshole that like that fits?
- 8:23Speaker 3: I'm so curious now there are.
- 8:27Speaker 1: Or any of you say anything about we don't know
- 8:29Speaker 1: where these are. These could be in the Pacific Northwest,
- 8:32Speaker 1: it could be anywhere.
- 8:33Speaker 3: You know what.
- 8:33Speaker 1: We're in the Pacific Northwest and we're talking about it,
- 8:36Speaker 1: so deal with it. Yeah, okay, that's the theme for
- 8:39Speaker 1: the day that connects to PNW perfect.
- 8:42Speaker 2: It's it's our show and that's what we're doing. That's
- 8:45Speaker 2: how it connects.
- 8:46Speaker 1: Yes, okay, Ai ta for not believing my boyfriend who
- 8:53Speaker 1: says he is dealing with paranormal events? Will you tick
- 8:57Speaker 1: the dramatic one first?
- 8:59Speaker 3: I think? So oh oh, I'm suck excited. Okay, it's
- 9:02Speaker 3: user Gabby. I don't know how to say the last
- 9:06Speaker 3: name b riends. I don't know.
- 9:10Speaker 1: You guys can go to my sources and click the
- 9:14Speaker 1: link and figure it out for yourself.
- 9:16Speaker 3: There you go.
- 9:16Speaker 1: So MAYBF and I have been dating for around four months.
- 9:22Speaker 1: That's not that long, no, and they're twenty one and eighteen.
- 9:28Speaker 1: So oh they're pretty young, so maybe four months does
- 9:32Speaker 1: feel like that's.
- 9:33Speaker 3: A longer relationship.
- 9:35Speaker 2: You have to think about it like dog years when
- 9:37Speaker 2: you're dating, like at that age, that's like the equivalent
- 9:42Speaker 2: of like a year for grown ups.
- 9:46Speaker 3: Okay, so putting it that way, they've been together for
- 9:48Speaker 3: the equivalent of a year. Sure, we're going with it.
- 9:52Speaker 3: He has a few mental health related issues and we
- 9:54Speaker 3: usually work around that. Last week he started acting distant,
- 9:58Speaker 3: like he would look away from me when we were
- 10:00Speaker 3: talking and things like that. Yesterday he almost fell when
- 10:04Speaker 3: we were walking and started acting weird. Later, he told
- 10:07Speaker 3: me that he heard a scream and that pushed him
- 10:11Speaker 3: to the ground. So that's he's saying, that's why he fell. Okay,
- 10:17Speaker 3: I have pretty good hearing, and I didn't hear shit.
- 10:25Speaker 3: I'm not really sure what to make of that, though.
- 10:27Speaker 3: It's kind of funny, like I have pretty good hearing,
- 10:29Speaker 3: I didn't hear shit.
- 10:31Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean it sounds yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, that's
- 10:35Speaker 2: something I would say.
- 10:37Speaker 1: Then he started telling me about when he was young
- 10:40Speaker 1: he saw things fly. I didn't like, like birds or
- 10:47Speaker 1: what kind of things. I'm just curious about that flying.
- 10:51Speaker 1: I think these are like objects creatures.
- 10:53Speaker 2: Yeah, I just feel like this is what this could
- 10:55Speaker 2: be one of those posts where you're like info, no
- 10:58Speaker 2: more details.
- 10:59Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't.
- 11:01Speaker 1: Believe in what he said. And when I told him that,
- 11:05Speaker 1: he flipped out on me. I said, I needed a
- 11:08Speaker 1: break to think. And now I have several missed calls
- 11:12Speaker 1: over a hundred miss messages from him. Oh my god, Wow,
- 11:17Speaker 1: that's intense.
- 11:19Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 11:21Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know if I'm a jerk for not
- 11:23Speaker 1: believing in him, But after that, I wonder if he
- 11:26Speaker 1: was just attention seeking or if he's mentally ill. I
- 11:31Speaker 1: don't know if I should end it for good or
- 11:33Speaker 1: try to help even even if I don't believe him.
- 11:38Speaker 3: Advice Caitlin, this is your advice column. Oh great, no pressure, right.
- 11:45Speaker 2: I mean, even if you're not experiencing the same things
- 11:49Speaker 2: or sort of like witnessing the same things, I would
- 11:52Speaker 2: think it's probably best you approach this, you know, from
- 11:57Speaker 2: a perspective of like you don't necessarily have to believe
- 12:01Speaker 2: that what he's saying is one hundred percent accurate, or
- 12:07Speaker 2: you know, maybe there's a different interpretation that you have
- 12:09Speaker 2: of the same events, but just being supportive and maybe
- 12:15Speaker 2: I think I think this comes up a lot actually
- 12:18Speaker 2: in relation to like hauntings and paranormal stories where people
- 12:24Speaker 2: are advised, Yes, we should probably explore every possible like
- 12:32Speaker 2: quote unquote normal explanation before we jump to you know,
- 12:37Speaker 2: poltergeist whatever. So definitely, you know, just doing a little
- 12:42Speaker 2: mental health check is is always good.
- 12:45Speaker 3: That's a good place to to start.
- 12:50Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 12:50Speaker 1: I think a lot of people in the comments were saying,
- 12:53Speaker 1: like it sounds like the start of schizophrenia, like kind
- 12:57Speaker 1: of yeah, the acting distance and hearing things, seeing things,
- 13:02Speaker 1: you know.
- 13:02Speaker 3: So yeah, I feel like it's it's worth checking out.
- 13:06Speaker 3: And it sounds like.
- 13:07Speaker 2: There's a little bit of a history there with some
- 13:09Speaker 2: mental health issues, although it sounds like he'd argue that
- 13:14Speaker 2: it's a history of.
- 13:16Speaker 3: A pair normal, right, Yeah, but I mean it.
- 13:20Speaker 2: Either way, you know, I think it's it's worth exploring.
- 13:25Speaker 2: I will say, I.
- 13:26Speaker 1: Feel like everything combine, like the one hundred missed messages,
- 13:31Speaker 1: that's yeah, that's kind of that a big indication, red
- 13:35Speaker 1: flag of something maybe else going on there.
- 13:38Speaker 2: Yes, yeah, I do think at that point it makes
- 13:42Speaker 2: it puts a little more into the column for you know,
- 13:46Speaker 2: potential concern for mental.
- 13:48Speaker 3: Health in our professional opinion, Yes, and our very very
- 13:52Speaker 3: professional opinions in our professional podcast or opinion exactly exactly.
- 14:00Speaker 1: Yeah, definitely, a ton of people. I was I wasn't
- 14:03Speaker 1: totally like reading the comments, but a lot of them were.
- 14:08Speaker 3: I mean, the comments is where. That's where you gotta go.
- 14:11Speaker 2: Yeah, you've got to go there to see what people
- 14:13Speaker 2: are saying. That's kind of the whole that's the whole thing.
- 14:17Speaker 3: But I don't I agree.
- 14:18Speaker 1: Though that because for everyone just immediately if you tell
- 14:22Speaker 1: a ghost story, they especially I feel like on Reddit
- 14:24Speaker 1: they're like, oh, that's a hallucination.
- 14:26Speaker 3: You're hallucinating, Like that's in your brain.
- 14:30Speaker 2: Yeah, And I feel like it happens in so many
- 14:34Speaker 2: different subreddits and like different situations where there definitely can
- 14:43Speaker 2: be a real dismissive vibe whatever is happening.
- 14:48Speaker 3: You know, everybody.
- 14:51Speaker 2: Has their own opinion, but some people can really downplay
- 14:56Speaker 2: or be dismissive of of Yeah.
- 15:01Speaker 3: I mean, at the very.
- 15:02Speaker 2: Least, I feel like you owe it to people to
- 15:04Speaker 2: just you know, okay, hear me out. You know, yeah,
- 15:10Speaker 2: so far he's not putting anybody in danger. Hopefully it
- 15:15Speaker 2: doesn't sound like yeah, so I feel like, you know.
- 15:20Speaker 3: You know, maybe the beginnings of stalking, that could be that.
- 15:24Speaker 2: Could be like, yeah, I mean if it rises to
- 15:27Speaker 2: that level, for sure. But I think you know, approach
- 15:30Speaker 2: things with you know, openness and kindness, and I think,
- 15:34Speaker 2: you know, I have to think about safety, like I said,
- 15:39Speaker 2: but you know, I think that results are so much better.
- 15:42Speaker 2: You know, people get closed off when you immediately are
- 15:47Speaker 2: kind of objecting to to their experience or invalidating them.
- 15:53Speaker 3: So because I don't know, someone did in the comments
- 15:55Speaker 3: say like it's real to them.
- 15:57Speaker 2: So like exactly, Yeah, regardless of whatever the cause is
- 16:03Speaker 2: happening in their like right's they're experienced real distress.
- 16:08Speaker 3: Yeah exactly. But then again, like it is your boyfriend,
- 16:12Speaker 3: you're very young, like it might not be your responsibility
- 16:17Speaker 3: to you know, make sure this person gets mental help either.
- 16:21Speaker 2: Yeah, And that's where I feel like you do have
- 16:24Speaker 2: to be really cautious about, you know, making sure that
- 16:28Speaker 2: you're taking care of yourself and really putting you know, safety,
- 16:33Speaker 2: and that can mean so many different things, but putting
- 16:36Speaker 2: that at the forefront, because yeah, you're very young and
- 16:40Speaker 2: you guys have been together for such a short time.
- 16:43Speaker 2: You know, you can't let somebody four months.
- 16:49Speaker 3: Yeah, if it's meant to be, it'll be not just kidding. Yeah,
- 16:55Speaker 3: let him go, let him fly like the objects that
- 16:58Speaker 3: he sees.
- 16:59Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean just to you know, just perspective. Okay,
- 17:04Speaker 2: I have jars of pickles in my fridge that I've
- 17:07Speaker 2: had longer relationships with than four months, so you know, yeah,
- 17:15Speaker 2: I'm just saying I wouldn't. I wouldn't let a jar
- 17:18Speaker 2: of pickles ruin my life, you know, in a in
- 17:22Speaker 2: a serious way.
- 17:24Speaker 3: So I don't know for what it's worth.
- 17:28Speaker 1: What if those pickles are telling you that they're seeing ghosts.
- 17:34Speaker 2: Well, I feel like the pickles, you know, they're seeing
- 17:37Speaker 2: things from a different perspective than me.
- 17:39Speaker 3: So I'm I'm opened hearing them out a submerged perspective, right,
- 17:45Speaker 3: they're in vinegar.
- 17:50Speaker 2: Maybe maybe it's like, maybe it's a ghost that like
- 17:53Speaker 2: is specifically hanging out in the fridge. And in which case,
- 17:57Speaker 2: I think probably the pickles are gonna be the expert
- 18:01Speaker 2: technically in that scenario.
- 18:03Speaker 1: If you are a pickle and you are being haunted,
- 18:06Speaker 1: email US office the Gmail talk Oh my god, Okay,
- 18:15Speaker 1: well please someone right a haunted like creepy pasta or
- 18:21Speaker 1: what am I trying to say? Write a creepy email
- 18:23Speaker 1: to us from the perspective of a pickle being haunted.
- 18:27Speaker 3: Yes, please, if you don't do it, I'm gonna do it. Yeah,
- 18:31Speaker 3: it's gonna happen, I think.
- 18:33Speaker 2: Okay, Okay, I'm excited to see if the next story,
- 18:37Speaker 2: if there's any way that this pickle situation, you know,
- 18:42Speaker 2: kind of carries through, it'll be really interesting.
- 18:45Speaker 3: Yeah. No, no, no, okay, pick a number between one
- 18:50Speaker 3: and ten. Okay? Seven? Who seven minus three? Oh well,
- 18:57Speaker 3: you're already picked three. Yeah. I was like, you want
- 19:01Speaker 3: me to do math?
- 19:02Speaker 1: Or I would never ever do that too. Am I
- 19:09Speaker 1: the asshole for banning my girlfriend from a group chat
- 19:12Speaker 1: after she upset people by insisting ghosts aren't real?
- 19:16Speaker 2: I don't think so. It kind of sounds like she's
- 19:19Speaker 2: the asshole. Don't you think?
- 19:21Speaker 3: I don't know. Let's hear the story.
- 19:22Speaker 1: Okay, So my girlfriend and I are in a big
- 19:25Speaker 1: group chat with about a dozen of our mutual friends.
- 19:28Speaker 1: That sounds like a nightmare.
- 19:30Speaker 3: Yeah, that's miss.
- 19:32Speaker 1: This past weekend, some people were chatting about paranormal experiences,
- 19:36Speaker 1: and one of our friends, Anne, was saying how her
- 19:39Speaker 1: mom once came to see her a few years ago.
- 19:41Speaker 1: Long after she had passed.
- 19:43Speaker 3: Oh oh, by the way, this is from user bubbly
- 19:46Speaker 3: a D five four three seven Bibbly Bubbly Michael Bubbly
- 19:52Speaker 3: Michael Burbler.
- 19:54Speaker 1: So Anne lost her mom when she was eighteen to
- 19:56Speaker 1: a very sad, unnatural event, which she definitely still struggles with.
- 20:03Speaker 1: I like want the I want to know, but I
- 20:05Speaker 1: don't because that sounds very ragic.
- 20:08Speaker 2: I'm like, Okay, when you say an natural, do you
- 20:11Speaker 2: mean like a really like tragic, maybe kind of a
- 20:15Speaker 2: bizarre like like final destination, typreak accident, incident, or are
- 20:22Speaker 2: you saying like like murder, true crime.
- 20:24Speaker 3: Yep, you read my mind. Yeah, because that's unnatural as fuck.
- 20:29Speaker 2: Yeah, that's yeah, But that's d either way.
- 20:34Speaker 3: This is something most of us know.
- 20:36Speaker 1: But granted, my girlfriend may not be as familiar as
- 20:39Speaker 1: she doesn't know them as long. I think they hasn't
- 20:43Speaker 1: known them as long.
- 20:44Speaker 3: Oh okay, yeah, we get what you're saying.
- 20:46Speaker 1: Anyways, as Anne is relaying her story, my girlfriend chimes
- 20:50Speaker 1: in and starts peppering Anne with all sorts of questions.
- 20:53Speaker 1: My girlfriend is a huge skeptic and says Anne's experience
- 20:57Speaker 1: was probably a combo of hallucination slash exhaustion since it
- 21:03Speaker 1: happened around two am, and gets really defensive, but my
- 21:07Speaker 1: girlfriend doesn't let up. She ends up calling Anne loopy
- 21:11Speaker 1: and something like sorry, but sane adults don't see ghosts.
- 21:15Speaker 1: Sounds like you had a mental break from reality due
- 21:18Speaker 1: to grief.
- 21:20Speaker 2: Wow, your girlfriend is a sea next Tuesday, your next Thursday,
- 21:25Speaker 2: and not in that good way?
- 21:27Speaker 3: Oh my god? Wow?
- 21:30Speaker 2: See and never how about that? That is so aggressive?
- 21:34Speaker 3: I think we're seeing who the asshole is.
- 21:36Speaker 1: Yeah, it's like one thing to not not believe somebody.
- 21:41Speaker 3: You don't have to believe, but don't shit on this
- 21:44Speaker 3: poor person. And we did.
- 21:46Speaker 1: We just talked about sometimes it can be mental health.
- 21:50Speaker 1: Sometimes it can be hallucinations. But when you've had a
- 21:54Speaker 1: traumatic event and you're telling someone that you like felt
- 21:58Speaker 1: your mom's spirit or saw your mom's or whatever, like,
- 22:01Speaker 1: that's come on, that's not the time. Yeah, tell someone
- 22:04Speaker 1: they've had a mental break. Obviously they've had a mental
- 22:06Speaker 1: fucking break. Okay, their mom died.
- 22:08Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 22:09Speaker 2: Here's the thing, though, is in what way is that productive?
- 22:13Speaker 2: In what way is that helpful or kind? Like?
- 22:17Speaker 3: Is she hurting anyone?
- 22:19Speaker 2: No? No, I don't think so. The story doesn't say
- 22:22Speaker 2: that she is, doesn't give us any indication that there's
- 22:25Speaker 2: any harm happening here. And this is something that I
- 22:29Speaker 2: don't know how long ago that you know, she supposedly
- 22:33Speaker 2: saw her mom's ghosts, but this is something she's looking
- 22:37Speaker 2: back on, like in hindsight, whether that was two weeks ago,
- 22:41Speaker 2: two years ago, whatever. Why why do you have to
- 22:46Speaker 2: try to take that from her? That's probably really helped
- 22:49Speaker 2: her cope in this time since her mom has passed.
- 22:53Speaker 2: You're just like not a nice person.
- 22:55Speaker 3: And like we said, it's real to them.
- 22:58Speaker 2: Yeah, even if you believe that, and maybe you're right,
- 23:02Speaker 2: but you can be right and still an asshole.
- 23:04Speaker 3: Yeah, exactly.
- 23:06Speaker 2: In fact, I would argue sometimes being right when it's
- 23:11Speaker 2: a very sensitive and emotional situation in particular, is the
- 23:16Speaker 2: leading cause of being the asshole ofs holary. Yes, you
- 23:21Speaker 2: care more about being right than like another human's feelings.
- 23:25Speaker 3: Yeah, to the trash, there are a million times a
- 23:31Speaker 3: day where like, well, okay, well that's a stretch, but
- 23:33Speaker 3: there are some times when you know, people are talking
- 23:35Speaker 3: to me and I'm talking to them and we're just
- 23:37Speaker 3: like having a nice conversation, and they'll say something that
- 23:40Speaker 3: like I know, to me is wrong.
- 23:44Speaker 2: Or just not like resonate or not like morally wrong,
- 23:47Speaker 2: but it's like it's wrong information because you know, I
- 23:50Speaker 2: don't know, I hoard like random facts and stuff.
- 23:53Speaker 3: Yeah, but like I'm not gonna stop our conversation and
- 23:57Speaker 3: be like, well, actually.
- 23:59Speaker 2: I don't know, like some people, some people are like
- 24:02Speaker 2: that maybe, I mean, if it's important or you think
- 24:07Speaker 2: that they would want to know. I feel like so
- 24:10Speaker 2: much in any situation, in particular on like the this subreddit,
- 24:15Speaker 2: like the any of these asshole situations, it's so much
- 24:19Speaker 2: about like just read the fucking room.
- 24:22Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, some people can't. I don't know. I don't
- 24:25Speaker 3: want to be a care I was just thinking, literally
- 24:27Speaker 3: was thinking of Sheldon when I just said that, because
- 24:29Speaker 3: I was like, oh, well, I mean, I don't know.
- 24:34Speaker 3: I feel he is an asshole though he admits it.
- 24:39Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean I think sometimes having an awareness and
- 24:43Speaker 2: also like you can over time learn to sort of
- 24:49Speaker 2: I don't, I don't know, for lack of a better
- 24:51Speaker 2: way to put it, like you can learn how to
- 24:53Speaker 2: behave better. You might not innately or inherently understand certain things.
- 25:01Speaker 2: You might not know exactly how to interact socially or
- 25:04Speaker 2: emotionally whatever with other people on certain levels, certain topics,
- 25:10Speaker 2: but you can learn to do better.
- 25:13Speaker 1: Yeah, and obviously like calling someone loopy and saying like
- 25:16Speaker 1: sing adults don't see ghosts, I don't know, it's just
- 25:19Speaker 1: it's just rude.
- 25:20Speaker 3: No matter how you put it it, it is.
- 25:22Speaker 2: Here's the thing is, if you're like a fucking internet
- 25:25Speaker 2: troll and you just go to a subreddit and you're like,
- 25:28Speaker 2: ghosts aren't real, I guess whatever. I wish you would
- 25:32Speaker 2: find a hobby that wasn't so annoying for the people
- 25:36Speaker 2: trying to talk about their ghost stories. But you were
- 25:39Speaker 2: in a group chat with people that you are supposed
- 25:42Speaker 2: to be friends with, yeah, which you're actually really like
- 25:45Speaker 2: your boyfriend's friends that you're you should be trying to
- 25:49Speaker 2: ingratiate yourself to. They're not being racist, they're not being homophobic,
- 25:55Speaker 2: they're not otherwise.
- 25:56Speaker 3: Hopefully that I mean, we don't know the whole context,
- 25:59Speaker 3: but but they're like a huge group of assholes and she's, yeah,
- 26:03Speaker 3: I don't.
- 26:03Speaker 2: Know, they're just major bigots. Here's the thing I've had
- 26:07Speaker 2: included in the story. I feel like it would have
- 26:09Speaker 2: probably been sprinkled in that there's a little I'm just
- 26:13Speaker 2: saying there's no reason for her to be going so
- 26:16Speaker 2: hard on this person.
- 26:18Speaker 3: That like, why why there's more, that's a little bit
- 26:22Speaker 3: more to the story, so maybe we'll get a little
- 26:25Speaker 3: more context. Oh my god, is this where the bigotry
- 26:28Speaker 3: comes in? I don't know.
- 26:30Speaker 1: Okay, so this is after she said really mean things
- 26:33Speaker 1: to an okay for Anne, great, I know. At this
- 26:36Speaker 1: point I started getting texts and calls from friends in
- 26:39Speaker 1: the chat asking me to.
- 26:41Speaker 3: Break up with your girlfriend.
- 26:43Speaker 1: Well, I ask made me to tell my girlfriend to
- 26:46Speaker 1: shut it, which is like, I don't know, like just
- 26:50Speaker 1: back off. Yeah, but I don't know that I would
- 26:53Speaker 1: be calling someone to tell them to tell their girlfriend
- 26:56Speaker 1: to shut up.
- 26:57Speaker 3: I don't know. Well, very I don't know. Oh, I
- 27:00Speaker 3: don't know. I kind of understand it in this case.
- 27:04Speaker 3: Normally I'm I'm pro not boyfriends telling girlfriends. What is
- 27:09Speaker 3: okay yeah to say? Or its complicated feelings.
- 27:13Speaker 1: Yes, yeah, I call my girlfriend she was out jogging,
- 27:17Speaker 1: but no answer. I text her, no reply. I send
- 27:20Speaker 1: her a long paragraph about Anne's context and to be sensitive,
- 27:24Speaker 1: but again there's no reply.
- 27:26Speaker 3: So the you've been texting this whole time. I know
- 27:30Speaker 3: she's jogging and texting but can't answer the phone. Maybe
- 27:33Speaker 3: she tripped over a log, her phone broke, I know.
- 27:38Speaker 1: So the fight is still ongoing in the group chat
- 27:41Speaker 1: and now some friends are defending Anne, but my girlfriend
- 27:44Speaker 1: is on a crusade as a result. She gets heated
- 27:47Speaker 1: during these kinds of arguments because she treats it like
- 27:49Speaker 1: a debate. Oh okay, that was kind of sweet to
- 27:52Speaker 1: give us context there.
- 27:54Speaker 3: Okay, here's the thing. Debating is fun. Being an asshole
- 27:58Speaker 3: is not.
- 27:59Speaker 2: Oh my god, like, I'm sorry, that's not the same. Like,
- 28:04Speaker 2: if you want to debate the merits of wearing plaid
- 28:07Speaker 2: and stripes together, that's a debate that nobody gets hurt.
- 28:11Speaker 3: Now this situation, you're just an asshole.
- 28:14Speaker 1: Well, and a good debate is not calling someone insane, right, that's.
- 28:19Speaker 3: Not a You need more evidence than that. Maybe she
- 28:23Speaker 3: had it. I don't know. Yeah, again, is it helpful?
- 28:26Speaker 3: Is it productive? Is it kind? Is it literally something
- 28:30Speaker 3: that you would want someone to say to you. I
- 28:33Speaker 3: don't know. Maybe she likes it.
- 28:36Speaker 1: Anyways, With no other option, I just temporarily kick my
- 28:40Speaker 1: girlfriend out of the group. I have adminisers and she doesn't,
- 28:44Speaker 1: so it seemed like the quickest fix at the time.
- 28:47Speaker 1: Immediately I get calls from my girlfriend accusing me of
- 28:50Speaker 1: siding with another girl and not giving her a chance
- 28:53Speaker 1: to explain her side.
- 28:54Speaker 3: He called you, he texted you. Yeah, I'm sorry, bitch,
- 28:57Speaker 3: your phone's working again. Weird. She's incredibly pissed off and
- 29:03Speaker 3: won't hear my reasoning. No one likes you. You're the worst,
- 29:10Speaker 3: she says.
- 29:11Speaker 1: I lost all credibility in the moment I kicked her
- 29:14Speaker 1: out and censored her without warning. Was I the asshole
- 29:19Speaker 1: to do this so quickly in the moment, I just
- 29:22Speaker 1: wanted to stop the fighting with what seemed like the easiest, easiest, easiest.
- 29:28Speaker 3: Fix, easiest fix.
- 29:31Speaker 2: As hard as it is, she was like not, she
- 29:35Speaker 2: was not She was not listening to anybody.
- 29:41Speaker 3: Like you.
- 29:42Speaker 2: Tried to reach out to her and just be like, hey,
- 29:45Speaker 2: can you not. She didn't even answer.
- 29:48Speaker 3: No, you didn't give me a chance to you. You
- 29:52Speaker 3: had your chance.
- 29:55Speaker 1: You can't continue to argue and then someone stops the meanness.
- 30:00Speaker 2: No, I'm sorry, you're trash. You're objectively like a mean
- 30:05Speaker 2: trash person.
- 30:08Speaker 3: I hope they I don't know. I hope they broke up. Yeah,
- 30:11Speaker 3: I love five years ago. So oh my gosh, Michael Buble,
- 30:16Speaker 3: I hope you're okay.
- 30:18Speaker 2: God, I really hope she's still out there on that
- 30:21Speaker 2: trail eating bark.
- 30:23Speaker 3: Oh. I was like, what could she tripped over a log?
- 30:28Speaker 3: Go eat bark thors Okay.
- 30:32Speaker 1: So I think there's like I'm sensing a little bit
- 30:34Speaker 1: of a theme with these posts I've picked.
- 30:37Speaker 3: Oh, like, you know, people not believing people. Yeah, that's
- 30:41Speaker 3: kind of that's fine.
- 30:43Speaker 2: That's fine, But you don't have to be an asshole
- 30:45Speaker 2: about it. You guys, it's dick road.
- 30:48Speaker 3: Don't be dick episode two.
- 30:51Speaker 2: We've been saying it for literal years, been saying it
- 30:55Speaker 2: for years.
- 30:57Speaker 1: I think I just started pulling these because I'm I'm
- 30:59Speaker 1: always like I like to see both sides, because we
- 31:02Speaker 1: always say like, yeah, we believe everybody, especially if you
- 31:06Speaker 1: send us a story through email or tell us a
- 31:08Speaker 1: story like we're gonna believe you.
- 31:11Speaker 3: We're not gonna We're not gonna be.
- 31:13Speaker 2: There's a really good chance that based on the description
- 31:18Speaker 2: that you provide us of a strange creature, we'll plug
- 31:21Speaker 2: that into AI so that we can make a picture
- 31:23Speaker 2: of it.
- 31:25Speaker 1: Yeah, we didn't tell Clint he was crazy because he
- 31:27Speaker 1: saw something like No, I'm not going to do that,
- 31:32Speaker 1: I know.
- 31:32Speaker 2: But Clint, that thing is nightmare fuel. Now that, now
- 31:36Speaker 2: that I'm thinking about it again.
- 31:39Speaker 3: I think about that often. Yeah, really like a lot. Yeah,
- 31:45Speaker 3: probably more than it's healthy, I know, I know. Yeah.
- 31:50Speaker 2: So in case you were wondering, Clint, your your story
- 31:53Speaker 2: has impacted us, and for anybody else listening who's wondering
- 31:57Speaker 2: if we would care about their stories, We're that just
- 32:01Speaker 2: lives rent free.
- 32:02Speaker 1: In my head, Yes we care, and you know, we
- 32:07Speaker 1: might suggest if we see signs of maybe a mental break,
- 32:11Speaker 1: I don't know, we might say like, hey, maybe look
- 32:14Speaker 1: at this, but we know that it's real for you.
- 32:16Speaker 1: Anything happening to you is real for you, and it's
- 32:18Speaker 1: from your perspective.
- 32:20Speaker 2: And we weren't there, and you know, how do other
- 32:23Speaker 2: than we know? Yeah, who are we to judge? And
- 32:27Speaker 2: we don't, you know, we don't necessarily with everyone that
- 32:30Speaker 2: listens to the show know them personally, so that would
- 32:34Speaker 2: be pretty hard.
- 32:35Speaker 3: For us to assess. That's all.
- 32:36Speaker 2: I mean.
- 32:37Speaker 3: I have exceptional hearing and vision, but I can't see
- 32:42Speaker 3: everything going on it once.
- 32:44Speaker 2: I am not no god, Okay, So we did three,
- 32:50Speaker 2: we've done seven, let's do four.
- 32:56Speaker 1: Am I the asshole because I told my friend I
- 32:59Speaker 1: didn't believe his ghost story? Oh my gosh, another butthole?
- 33:05Speaker 2: Yeah, well, I don't know. Maybe we'll see maybe this
- 33:08Speaker 2: guy won't be the asshole.
- 33:12Speaker 3: Oh I should I guess I should have.
- 33:14Speaker 1: I don't know if I should have said the results
- 33:17Speaker 1: at the top, like after we were done.
- 33:21Speaker 2: Oh, I guess we haven't. Really, we haven't shared the verdicts.
- 33:25Speaker 2: That's a good point. We're really bad at Reddit.
- 33:28Speaker 3: You guys.
- 33:29Speaker 1: I don't know how the podcast yeah. Oh okay, so
- 33:33Speaker 1: the boyfriend one just said advice needed. It didn't have
- 33:36Speaker 1: a verdict. Okay, So the last one we did was seven.
- 33:42Speaker 1: I mean I think we know what the verdict is
- 33:44Speaker 1: going to be.
- 33:44Speaker 3: Not the a hole Okay, yeah, with the girlfriend and
- 33:47Speaker 3: the banning and the girlfriend's a hole, not the banner.
- 33:50Speaker 3: Mm hmmm.
- 33:51Speaker 1: Let me just say the user name Lucy more guns
- 33:56Speaker 1: the genera. Yeah, yep, like I said, they'll all be
- 34:03Speaker 1: in this LinkedIn the sources.
- 34:04Speaker 3: Okay, there you go.
- 34:06Speaker 1: Let me just say that we are still good friends today,
- 34:09Speaker 1: and it is just something I have a hard time
- 34:12Speaker 1: letting go of. You have a hard time letting go
- 34:15Speaker 1: of it for real. A few years ago, my friend
- 34:19Speaker 1: and I were on a road trip and we had
- 34:21Speaker 1: a great time. It was just one discussion that was
- 34:25Speaker 1: a hiccup. Okay, they discussed hiccups. Did you scare? Do
- 34:30Speaker 1: you tried to scare the hiccups out of them?
- 34:34Speaker 3: That'd be funny.
- 34:35Speaker 2: Now, I feel like people really downplay hiccups and how
- 34:40Speaker 2: uncomfortable they can be.
- 34:42Speaker 3: Dude, I don't get.
- 34:44Speaker 2: Them often, but I feel like saying something's a hiccup
- 34:49Speaker 2: to me, I don't know.
- 34:51Speaker 3: I'm like, I don't know, uncomfortable.
- 34:54Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know, man, I don't remember how we
- 34:58Speaker 1: got into it, but I just said something along the
- 35:00Speaker 1: lines of it would be cool if supernatural stuff actually existed,
- 35:05Speaker 1: like ghosts or whatever.
- 35:07Speaker 2: Okay, just coming in dropping a hot take and.
- 35:13Speaker 3: Just like just as fact, it'd be cool if this,
- 35:16Speaker 3: like yeah, right.
- 35:21Speaker 2: Because I'm a scientist and I know everything. Gosh, that's fine,
- 35:27Speaker 2: I get it. Not everybody believes that's fine.
- 35:31Speaker 3: You got to feel it out though. I don't know. Yeah,
- 35:34Speaker 3: maybe maybe just a vibe check, like a little I.
- 35:38Speaker 1: Think, do you think? I don't know, I don't know.
- 35:41Speaker 1: And he said ghosts do exist, he'd seen one, I replied,
- 35:46Speaker 1: but I doubted that he did, okay, And he asked
- 35:50Speaker 1: if I was calling him a liar, and then I
- 35:54Speaker 1: remembered my exact words, and then I remember my exact words.
- 35:59Speaker 3: I believe that you believe, which, God damn it. That
- 36:04Speaker 3: is so condescending. And it is kind of what we
- 36:08Speaker 3: were saying earlier, like it's real to you, but like
- 36:11Speaker 3: saying it's real to you, I don't know, like there's
- 36:15Speaker 3: a better way to say that. I think, yeah, I
- 36:20Speaker 3: believe that you believe. It is just.
- 36:25Speaker 2: I believe that you're crazy and maybe you were seeing
- 36:30Speaker 2: things and to you that seems real, but it's not.
- 36:34Speaker 3: And here I am to tell you how you're wrong.
- 36:37Speaker 3: Is how my drop sounds.
- 36:39Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a It's it's like saying no offense before
- 36:44Speaker 1: saying something effect.
- 36:46Speaker 3: My god, it's in the Geneva convention. I just feel like,
- 36:57Speaker 3: here's the thing.
- 36:59Speaker 2: All all of my feedback, input, advice, my thoughts, they
- 37:04Speaker 2: would apply to so many different situations, like whether you
- 37:10Speaker 2: called your you know, girlfriend a not nice name or.
- 37:17Speaker 3: Just like.
- 37:19Speaker 2: You just suck as a human. You're sucking at human ing, right,
- 37:22Speaker 2: now because of how you're talking to this person, and
- 37:26Speaker 2: I realized you maybe didn't mean for it to come across.
- 37:29Speaker 3: That harsh, but but you suck.
- 37:32Speaker 2: Yeah, I didn't mean for that to come across that harsh,
- 37:35Speaker 2: but there it is, you know, there it is. Yeah,
- 37:38Speaker 2: I guess sometimes it just slips out and you can't
- 37:40Speaker 2: help it.
- 37:42Speaker 1: That's what she said. So we didn't just call him out.
- 37:48Speaker 1: He looked hurt and said that that's a really condescending
- 37:53Speaker 1: way to say that. Oh interesting, huh, yes, the exact words.
- 37:59Speaker 1: It's our felt vocabulary word for the day.
- 38:02Speaker 3: Condescend is condescension a word, yepsen, I like that better.
- 38:09Speaker 3: I do too. Your condescension astounds me.
- 38:14Speaker 1: And I still think about it today. How else do
- 38:17Speaker 1: you handle these things? Otherwise you just lie to them
- 38:20Speaker 1: and say you believe them. You just switch the subject.
- 38:23Speaker 3: Anyways? Was it condescending? Yes, yes it was. Yeah, you
- 38:33Speaker 3: don't have to lie, but.
- 38:36Speaker 1: Maybe Okay, So this is like what I do if
- 38:38Speaker 1: I have a different opinion than someone as I hear them,
- 38:41Speaker 1: I hear what they say, and I maybe will say like, well,
- 38:44Speaker 1: I don't believe, and maybe I would say I don't
- 38:47Speaker 1: believe in ghosts because of like science blah blah blah
- 38:50Speaker 1: doo dooo do and then but you today, But I
- 38:56Speaker 1: respect your opinion and your point of view and experience.
- 39:03Speaker 2: And maybe it's like I don't be that deep either
- 39:05Speaker 2: though you can just I just don't really believe in that,
- 39:07Speaker 2: but like I don't. I'm not saying you're a liar.
- 39:12Speaker 2: I just don't really believe in that. Yeah, do you
- 39:16Speaker 2: see how that feels a little different? Do you feel
- 39:19Speaker 2: how it? Did you feel the condescension leave the room?
- 39:23Speaker 2: With that difference in phrasing, it is the condescension in
- 39:28Speaker 2: the room with us.
- 39:30Speaker 3: And the answer is to ask, I guess, ask more questions.
- 39:33Speaker 1: I don't know, I'm a curious I'm a more curious
- 39:35Speaker 1: person maybe, but I ask people a lot of questions
- 39:38Speaker 1: about what they're talking to me about. So I would
- 39:40Speaker 1: just try to learn as much as possible.
- 39:42Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 39:43Speaker 1: I don't need to like be right in the situation.
- 39:46Speaker 1: We kind of already talked about that.
- 39:48Speaker 2: But yeah, and I get it some people are really
- 39:51Speaker 2: passionate about particular things. But what really cements for me
- 39:56Speaker 2: that this person like kind of is just like I
- 40:00Speaker 2: completely inept or actually kind of an asshole is that
- 40:04Speaker 2: they're like, well, I don't know, like, is that condescending?
- 40:08Speaker 2: Should I just have lied? So your options are to
- 40:11Speaker 2: say something that like comes across like you think this
- 40:15Speaker 2: person is a fuck with or to just lie.
- 40:19Speaker 3: Yeah, there's no in between, no other option. Well, yes,
- 40:25Speaker 3: I mean I assume it's a man. Yeah, I guess.
- 40:28Speaker 3: I don't wait, it's as Lucy. I don't know, maybe
- 40:30Speaker 3: it's not a man. Was the friend Lucy? Or no
- 40:34Speaker 3: that's the user name? Okay, Well, chicks can be dicks too,
- 40:40Speaker 3: do you know what I mean? I don't know why
- 40:42Speaker 3: I assumed it was a guy. I guess.
- 40:44Speaker 2: I just I feel like some of the wording does
- 40:47Speaker 2: kind of energy. It gives neck beard.
- 40:50Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 40:51Speaker 1: Yeah, they still do think about it today and they
- 40:55Speaker 1: are asking like was I rude?
- 40:58Speaker 3: So maybe they maybe they're they do caybe and they're like,
- 41:01Speaker 3: oh god, like was I an asshole? So they did
- 41:03Speaker 3: come on here, But the consensus is it that they're not.
- 41:09Speaker 3: And I don't agree with that. What Yeah, it says
- 41:13Speaker 3: not an a hole? Okay. Well.
- 41:16Speaker 2: Reddit has a long and storied history of sometimes being
- 41:22Speaker 2: wrong in their verdicts.
- 41:24Speaker 3: In case anyone was unaware. I don't know.
- 41:28Speaker 2: I do think the fact that you still think about it,
- 41:31Speaker 2: like to me that also says like, as much as
- 41:34Speaker 2: I was saying this person you like, your status as
- 41:39Speaker 2: an asshole is cemented for me because there's just like
- 41:43Speaker 2: no in between with you and you seem like kind
- 41:46Speaker 2: of ridiculous for that, the fact that you still.
- 41:49Speaker 3: Think about it makes me think there is possibly potential
- 41:54Speaker 3: for growth learning. That's learning. That's the most I can
- 41:58Speaker 3: say for you. The learning opportunity I was. I just
- 42:02Speaker 3: kept saying learning learning, it's a learning coptunity.
- 42:05Speaker 1: Yes, I do like this one comment that says, I'm
- 42:09Speaker 1: not sure how to judge this, but to at least
- 42:11Speaker 1: one of your questions, yes, that was condescending.
- 42:14Speaker 2: Yes, which I feel like is how you established as
- 42:19Speaker 2: somebody as an asshole because what did the friend do
- 42:21Speaker 2: that was asshole ish? So I mean it depends, I
- 42:24Speaker 2: guess how closely you want to follow the different guidelines
- 42:28Speaker 2: that typically exist for like verdicts like there can be
- 42:34Speaker 2: not the asshole, you're the asshole, no assholes here, everybody
- 42:38Speaker 2: sucks here, lots of different verdicts, and I think definitely
- 42:44Speaker 2: your friend's not the asshole, so.
- 42:47Speaker 1: Right, and I see a lot of people saying like
- 42:51Speaker 1: that that was okay to say, and like, you don't
- 42:54Speaker 1: this one says, oh, no, one is forced to placate
- 42:58Speaker 1: other people's delusions.
- 43:00Speaker 3: That's mean. That is mean.
- 43:05Speaker 1: So now that we know that we're not forced to
- 43:08Speaker 1: placate other people's delusions. God, definitely not the asshole, then
- 43:13Speaker 1: I guess.
- 43:14Speaker 3: I mean that person also sounds like an asshole. For
- 43:17Speaker 3: what it's worth. People on the internet. Man, it's just it.
- 43:23Speaker 2: I mean, here's the thing is that is a fucking
- 43:27Speaker 2: bar and technically they are not wrong.
- 43:29Speaker 3: I just don't.
- 43:31Speaker 2: I just don't feel like the steaks are high enough.
- 43:35Speaker 2: I just I don't know, Man, I don't know.
- 43:38Speaker 3: I don't think. Let us know in the comments. Do
- 43:45Speaker 3: you want to do one more? I think I have
- 43:46Speaker 3: some shorter ones. Okay, I have one more number in
- 43:52Speaker 3: mind at least I both. Yeah. If I have to pick,
- 43:55Speaker 3: I know what number I would pick next? Eight? Okay?
- 44:00Speaker 1: Am I the asshole? If I insist on believing in Bigfoot?
- 44:06Speaker 3: I don't know how insistent are you? Oh? God?
- 44:11Speaker 2: I feel like is this where like the tables turn
- 44:15Speaker 2: and now the paranormal person is actually the asshole?
- 44:19Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 44:20Speaker 1: I guess we'll see my family doesn't have faith in Bigfoot.
- 44:24Speaker 3: Well, that's just depressing. I'm so sorry. That's really diffe
- 44:28Speaker 3: I do. I hate to see it. Well, especially if
- 44:31Speaker 3: you do. Yeah.
- 44:34Speaker 1: This last weekend at a family party, folks started ridiculing
- 44:38Speaker 1: Bigfoot believers. I suggested that there's more physical evidence for
- 44:42Speaker 1: Bigfoot than Jesus.
- 44:44Speaker 3: Awkwardness ensued.
- 44:46Speaker 2: I mean.
- 44:48Speaker 3: Grandma might have fainted. No, we're really painting a picture.
- 44:54Speaker 2: No, did they say that that's actually in the story
- 44:57Speaker 2: the grandma might have fainted.
- 44:59Speaker 3: They said grandma might have fainted.
- 45:01Speaker 1: And when I said that Bigfoot might be Cain, they
- 45:04Speaker 1: took away my plate.
- 45:07Speaker 2: Wait that Bigfoot might be Cain? Yes, nope, I just
- 45:13Speaker 2: I just got there.
- 45:15Speaker 3: Okay. I'm like, I guess it's a Bible thing. I
- 45:18Speaker 3: wouldn't know. Yeah, you're like, I don't know. So that's
- 45:24Speaker 3: the end. So what do you think are they that's.
- 45:29Speaker 1: We're saying that there's more physical evidence for Bigfoot than Jesus.
- 45:34Speaker 1: And they made their grandma faint.
- 45:36Speaker 2: Well, they said grandma might have fainted, might have fainted.
- 45:41Speaker 3: Might.
- 45:43Speaker 2: Wow, that's a tough one. I think this goes back
- 45:52Speaker 2: to knowing your audience a little, right, Yeah.
- 45:56Speaker 1: I think maybe saying that Bigfoot might be Caine was
- 45:58Speaker 1: like maybe a step too far.
- 46:01Speaker 3: Yeah, that might be a bridge too far.
- 46:05Speaker 2: I don't know how much physical like evidence there is
- 46:13Speaker 2: for either of these individuals, to be honest, I don't
- 46:17Speaker 2: I don't know that there's I'm sure, I'm sure there
- 46:20Speaker 2: are people that think there is physical evidence for either
- 46:26Speaker 2: one of like and very passionately that I maybe would
- 46:30Speaker 2: not consider physical evidence.
- 46:35Speaker 3: That there's a whole Bigfoot museum full of evidence. Uh huh?
- 46:39Speaker 3: Is there a Jesus museum full of and there's there's
- 46:43Speaker 3: a lot of mega churches. We're going to do a
- 46:47Speaker 3: quick Google search for.
- 46:49Speaker 2: Okay, physical evidence of the existence of Bigfoot. Google says
- 46:57Speaker 2: physical evidence for Bigfoot is anecdotal and inconclusive, consisting mainly
- 47:02Speaker 2: of blurry photos, slash videos like the Patterson Gimblin film,
- 47:08Speaker 2: large footprint footprint casts often debunked or identified as known animals,
- 47:14Speaker 2: alleged hair slash scat samples usually deer or bear, and vocalizations,
- 47:21Speaker 2: but scientific consensus finds no concrete proof, with most findings
- 47:26Speaker 2: attributable to folklore, misidentification, or hoaxes, though some researchers cite
- 47:34Speaker 2: unique features in tracks like the Skukum cast as potential evidence.
- 47:39Speaker 1: We don't know if it's physical, real physical evidence or not.
- 47:43Speaker 1: It's it's not been clarified.
- 47:46Speaker 3: Mm hmmm.
- 47:47Speaker 1: So it's possible that there is more physical evidence of
- 47:50Speaker 1: Big With than Jesus.
- 47:51Speaker 3: We don't know.
- 47:53Speaker 2: Do you want me to read the overview for Jesus. Yes,
- 48:00Speaker 2: there is no definitive, direct physical evidence in parentheses like
- 48:05Speaker 2: a photograph, DNA, or personal artifact of Jesus, as peasants
- 48:10Speaker 2: from that era rarely left such records, but historians rely
- 48:15Speaker 2: on literary evidence and artifacts from the time to confirm
- 48:19Speaker 2: a historical figure named Jesus likely existed, and his baptism
- 48:24Speaker 2: and crucifixion being widely accepted historical events, while claims of
- 48:30Speaker 2: relics like the Shroud of Turin lacks scientific consensus. That
- 48:36Speaker 2: was the first thing that popped into my head. I
- 48:38Speaker 2: was like, Oh, I know the shrouds. I know we're
- 48:41Speaker 2: going to talk.
- 48:41Speaker 3: About the shrouds. I don't know that. I don't know that.
- 48:44Speaker 2: It's not important, it's not evidence of anything like, So.
- 48:51Speaker 1: I mean, Big Book could be Jesus Jesus could be Bigfoot.
- 48:55Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know that that. I don't think we
- 48:58Speaker 2: have to draw a parallels or like, I think sometimes
- 49:04Speaker 2: it's okay to put the red string down, like they
- 49:08Speaker 2: are both equally elusive individuals, and that might be where
- 49:13Speaker 2: the similarities begin to sort of break off and diverge.
- 49:20Speaker 3: Okay, but if there was, if there was such a thing,
- 49:24Speaker 3: would we call him Big Jesus or Jesus' foot? Ooh,
- 49:28Speaker 3: big Jesus Foot. You know what, I think we're going
- 49:33Speaker 3: to have Jesus workshop it if you'll be JAJJ Big Jesus. No,
- 49:42Speaker 3: he's just going by BJ.
- 49:44Speaker 2: I just think sometimes I just I want to ask
- 49:47Speaker 2: people why why why why do we have to bring
- 49:52Speaker 2: up these topics with people that you know, very in
- 49:56Speaker 2: very specifically have contradictory or or like opposite end of
- 50:01Speaker 2: the spectrum views. And yeah, it's I would argue in
- 50:09Speaker 2: most cases, whether you believe more strongly in Jesus or Bigfoot.
- 50:15Speaker 3: As long as you're not pushing it on anyone else,
- 50:19Speaker 3: that's fine. Believe what you want to believe.
- 50:22Speaker 2: But I do think the principle of like trying to
- 50:25Speaker 2: force your beliefs on someone else it applies to you
- 50:28Speaker 2: over there too, squatch, So yeah, I agree. I don't
- 50:33Speaker 2: know that they're really like being as pushy in the
- 50:38Speaker 2: way that we're familiar with typically evangelicals behaving here.
- 50:46Speaker 3: There couldn't be some evangelical bigfooters out there. I love
- 50:51Speaker 3: that for them. Well, I want someone to.
- 50:53Speaker 1: Draw us artwork of big Jesus, so get on that
- 50:57Speaker 1: mail us. I like this one person's call that says
- 51:01Speaker 1: it's an asshole moved to belittle someone else's beliefs, be
- 51:04Speaker 1: that big Boot or Jesus.
- 51:05Speaker 3: And I agree with that. That's what I said.
- 51:09Speaker 1: Mm hmm, yeah, that's yeah, basically what you said. But
- 51:12Speaker 1: he said it in like two sentences and with less.
- 51:16Speaker 1: Uh no, that was perfect. Okay, Yeah, so they were
- 51:20Speaker 1: considered not the asshole, which I feel like, maybe everyone's
- 51:24Speaker 1: an asshole in this situation.
- 51:25Speaker 2: I would say, I don't know. I actually think this
- 51:30Speaker 2: is a better example. And and I've heard other shows
- 51:34Speaker 2: talk about this. There's sort of a paradox of like,
- 51:37Speaker 2: is it no assholes here versus everybody sucks?
- 51:42Speaker 3: And I don't think, oh right, everybody sucks.
- 51:44Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't really think that everybody sucks here.
- 51:49Speaker 1: Probably not Grandma thought she just might have fainted. She
- 51:52Speaker 1: probably didn't have anything to.
- 51:53Speaker 3: Do with it.
- 51:53Speaker 2: Yeah. I think this is more of a no assholes here,
- 51:58Speaker 2: because you guys just have like very diametrically opposed belief systems.
- 52:04Speaker 3: Oh no, no, no, heavily disagreed. Do you remember the
- 52:08Speaker 3: last sentence Okay, yeah, when I said that they took
- 52:14Speaker 3: away my plate. You don't like someone's food.
- 52:18Speaker 2: No, I didn't hear that they took away as plate.
- 52:21Speaker 2: I didn't hear that.
- 52:22Speaker 3: You don't fuck with No, I don't walk with someone's food.
- 52:26Speaker 2: I feel like this is that episode of Friends where
- 52:28Speaker 2: it's like Joey doesn't share food.
- 52:32Speaker 1: Yes, I don't care if you don't believe in Jesus.
- 52:36Speaker 1: Don't take somebody's plate.
- 52:38Speaker 2: Okay, yeah, Actually that kind of pushes me in the
- 52:42Speaker 2: other direction. I kind of almost think maybe I mentioned
- 52:47Speaker 2: the paradox right, but actually this kind of pushes me
- 52:49Speaker 2: to everybody sucks.
- 52:50Speaker 1: Here, Yeah, because I mean I don't necessarily think like
- 52:55Speaker 1: the Bigfoot believer was kind of just getting defensive because
- 52:59Speaker 1: they were picking up I'm saying that's big.
- 53:01Speaker 2: Footb Well, but like you said, then you go and
- 53:04Speaker 2: pick that the cane and abel thing.
- 53:07Speaker 3: I don't give a shit you. I thought it was hilarious.
- 53:11Speaker 2: But if you know that you are in a group
- 53:14Speaker 2: of religious people and this is something that they revere
- 53:18Speaker 2: and is important to them, and you say that, I
- 53:21Speaker 2: don't know, man, they definitely think you're an asshole.
- 53:25Speaker 3: Obviously they took your plate. They took your plate, but like, yeah,
- 53:28Speaker 3: don't take plate, So that's not nice. Yeah, that's me
- 53:31Speaker 3: to eat.
- 53:31Speaker 1: You know, starvation is not a punishment. Okay, we've talked
- 53:35Speaker 1: about this.
- 53:37Speaker 3: I mean, it is a punishment, but it's against the
- 53:39Speaker 3: Geneva convention.
- 53:41Speaker 1: Right, it's not an acceptable punishment. Yeah, that was from
- 53:44Speaker 1: user you loose gum by the way.
- 53:47Speaker 3: You loose gum.
- 53:47Speaker 2: Okay, what if you only let someone eat haunted pickles?
- 53:54Speaker 3: Here you get a play to haunted pickles? Okay, I
- 53:59Speaker 3: have one more short? When should we do it?
- 54:01Speaker 1: Definitely it is from user ever Abe Okay, like Abe
- 54:09Speaker 1: Lincoln the Vampire Hunter?
- 54:11Speaker 3: Right, Okay?
- 54:13Speaker 1: Am I the asshole for letting my eleven year old
- 54:16Speaker 1: son go around town wearing a Michael Myers mask carrying
- 54:19Speaker 1: a butter knife. Yeah, I don't know, I know the title.
- 54:31Speaker 2: I say, no, Well, okay, I need info though, because
- 54:35Speaker 2: as someone who was definitely chased by a terrifying child
- 54:39Speaker 2: with a weapon in their neighborhood, listen, not everything is
- 54:44Speaker 2: a boys will be voice situation, and we have to
- 54:47Speaker 2: stop saying that.
- 54:49Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, no, yeah, no one will be by you
- 54:52Speaker 3: guys like I'm here. Oh, I didn't know this would
- 54:57Speaker 3: be so triggering for you.
- 54:58Speaker 2: I know, I know who could have known because I
- 55:01Speaker 2: just normally come across a so well adjusted.
- 55:04Speaker 1: So my son loves costumes, special effects, makeup, et cetera,
- 55:11Speaker 1: I said, etcetera, etcetera.
- 55:13Speaker 3: We'll just leave it, that's fine.
- 55:15Speaker 1: This morning, he wore his Michael Myers latex mask and
- 55:19Speaker 1: carried a dull butter knife to go stand in front
- 55:22Speaker 1: of the neighbor's house to be spooky.
- 55:25Speaker 2: Okay, all right, I'm gonna let you finish.
- 55:29Speaker 1: The neighbor knows my son well and thought it was hysterical,
- 55:34Speaker 1: sent me pictures. It entertained their children as well.
- 55:38Speaker 3: Okay, So I'm like, that's fine if it was just
- 55:41Speaker 3: if it was it's your asshole neighbor and you're like, hey, kid,
- 55:44Speaker 3: just go be creepy.
- 55:45Speaker 2: Right, Yeah, yeah, this could really go It could go
- 55:51Speaker 2: very differently.
- 55:53Speaker 1: Then, I got a message from another neighbor about how
- 55:57Speaker 1: terrifying and disturbing my eleven year old son's behavior was.
- 56:02Speaker 1: They live right next to the neighbor who was amused
- 56:05Speaker 1: and saw my son in passing.
- 56:07Speaker 3: Really is it that bad? Okay?
- 56:10Speaker 2: So the specific neighbor that he's like standing outside, like
- 56:15Speaker 2: in front of their house, they think it's funny.
- 56:18Speaker 3: Okay. So I feel like that's a point. That's a
- 56:20Speaker 3: point in your column.
- 56:22Speaker 2: I will say, it's a dull butter knife, okay. So
- 56:26Speaker 2: that's that's certainly better than like a cleaver, obviously, but
- 56:31Speaker 2: it is still a knife.
- 56:34Speaker 3: I feel thinking, I feel as though we could probably.
- 56:39Speaker 2: Resolve at least a portion of what's bothersome about this
- 56:44Speaker 2: by maybe maybe a rubber knife.
- 56:47Speaker 3: Yeah, we're like, you know, something that looks real fake? Yes, yeah,
- 56:54Speaker 3: I don't know. What do you think?
- 56:56Speaker 1: I yeah, I don't know, because that's it's hard because
- 56:58Speaker 1: it's a kid. So like the Yeah, like you said,
- 57:02Speaker 1: even though it was a dull knife, like, the kid
- 57:05Speaker 1: still has a weapon.
- 57:08Speaker 3: You can poke somebody's.
- 57:09Speaker 2: Eye out with that, Yeah, exactly, You're gonna take somebody's
- 57:13Speaker 2: eye out with that, clerk.
- 57:15Speaker 1: But I'm just picturing like you know what if the
- 57:18Speaker 1: cops were rolling down the street and like you see
- 57:21Speaker 1: this kid with a knife and then they're like, hey, kid,
- 57:24Speaker 1: drop the weapon, and like the kid doesn't know what's
- 57:26Speaker 1: going on, and all of a sudden, the kid gets
- 57:28Speaker 1: shot and that's America.
- 57:30Speaker 3: Well, yeah, that's very true. I feel like.
- 57:35Speaker 2: There are a lot of variables that can introduce like literal,
- 57:39Speaker 2: actual physical danger in this situation. So that's that's definitely
- 57:46Speaker 2: something I thought about as well. I think because it's
- 57:51Speaker 2: like an eleven year old.
- 57:53Speaker 3: Yeah, I want to believe that everybody can.
- 57:57Speaker 2: Understand that this is like a literal child dressed up
- 58:00Speaker 2: or whatever. But it's also not Halloween, correct, Like it's
- 58:06Speaker 2: it doesn't say yeah, I.
- 58:08Speaker 3: Feel like that would have been mentioned. When was it posted?
- 58:11Speaker 3: You have any idea? But Halloween is all the time.
- 58:14Speaker 3: It's five years ago, it says.
- 58:16Speaker 2: Well, listen, it's always Halloween in our hearts. But you
- 58:20Speaker 2: know that's kind of the day where you can probably
- 58:26Speaker 2: you're gonna have the highest chance of success with something
- 58:29Speaker 2: like this.
- 58:30Speaker 1: Yeah, maybe like not Halloween. Do it in your backyard,
- 58:34Speaker 1: you know, also in your window.
- 58:37Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, or or you go and knock on their
- 58:41Speaker 2: door because that's the neighbor that's chill, and they think
- 58:44Speaker 2: it's funny and they get you guys, so like you
- 58:47Speaker 2: go and knock on their door and see my costume. Yeah,
- 58:51Speaker 2: and then and then yeah, maybe going I don't know,
- 58:54Speaker 2: that's I don't think they're the asshole.
- 58:57Speaker 3: I'm really curious what it had to say. Nosy neighbors
- 59:01Speaker 3: just irritate just so I feel out of here Karen
- 59:05Speaker 3: Susan's mind. Okay, I'm weird though, So I'm like, if
- 59:10Speaker 3: I saw that, I would think it was hilarious, but
- 59:13Speaker 3: it really depends. It really depends.
- 59:17Speaker 2: Yeah, like is this my little neighbor kid that I
- 59:19Speaker 2: know loves like scary movies. Yeah, then that's hilarious and adorable.
- 59:26Speaker 2: But I guess if you don't know, do I know
- 59:28Speaker 2: this child going on? Like have I never met this
- 59:32Speaker 2: child before? Am I gonna look out the window and
- 59:35Speaker 2: think it's like an actual black eyed child? You know,
- 59:39Speaker 2: like black eyed children.
- 59:40Speaker 3: Like email us. I don't know.
- 59:43Speaker 2: I just feel I do feel like, you know, how
- 59:48Speaker 2: things are received matters, But also I think there's a
- 59:52Speaker 2: fairness to considering, like what was the intent too, especially
- 59:58Speaker 2: for a child, because I don't think there's any actual
- 1:00:02Speaker 2: harm that's come from this, but I could be wrong.
- 1:00:04Speaker 2: It happened that one other time.
- 1:00:06Speaker 3: It was funny. Yeah, just the ones, just the ones.
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: So Reddit agrees seems to agree that they are the asshole.
- 1:00:17Speaker 2: Wait, who's they the neighbor or the poster, the poster,
- 1:00:22Speaker 2: the op they said, oh p was the asshole. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:00:27Speaker 2: I think it was a lot of what we were saying.
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: Like, I don't think they're really the asshole. This person says,
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: my uncle has PTSD from a really bad home invasion
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: years ago, and someone standing outside his home with a
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: mask could very well be triggering for him.
- 1:00:43Speaker 3: Yeah, that's fair. I don't think they're the asshole though.
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: Right, Okay, So I would be like, if you keep
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: doing if you continue to do this, you might be
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: the asshole. But like, yeah, once someone has brought to
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: your attention that it creep out or like made them
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: scared or uncomfortable, yeah, then you know, maybe don't do
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: it again or you you know. I think the worst
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: part about it is the butter knife, Like, even though
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: it's dull, Like.
- 1:01:11Speaker 2: Yeah, I do think even a butter knife, I just
- 1:01:14Speaker 2: I don't know that I would have yeah, I just
- 1:01:16Speaker 2: don't know that that's the best idea in the grand
- 1:01:19Speaker 2: scheme of things.
- 1:01:20Speaker 3: Is that really that threatening? I don't know.
- 1:01:23Speaker 2: You like, every individual person is potentially gonna like interpret
- 1:01:28Speaker 2: that differently.
- 1:01:30Speaker 3: I've been chased with like a hammer. Ooh.
- 1:01:35Speaker 2: So for me, I look at this and go like
- 1:01:38Speaker 2: actually thinking about like neighbor kids that I grew up with.
- 1:01:43Speaker 2: I know there are kids that we grew up with
- 1:01:45Speaker 2: in our neighborhood that I would have been like, this
- 1:01:46Speaker 2: is hilarious.
- 1:01:47Speaker 3: And then there are kids.
- 1:01:48Speaker 2: That I would be like, oh my god, someone get
- 1:01:53Speaker 2: out of camera because we're like, if we survive, we're
- 1:01:58Speaker 2: gonna release this, you know, indie film, indie.
- 1:02:02Speaker 3: Horror film, like uh, yeah, I don't know. I don't know.
- 1:02:06Speaker 2: That sounds terrible, but like I don't know, it depends
- 1:02:08Speaker 2: on the rapport and like what you know about this person.
- 1:02:12Speaker 3: I don't think they're an asshole. I don't know.
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: Yeah, I guess I don't think they're an asshole for
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: just there an asshole.
- 1:02:18Speaker 2: If they keep doing it, probably yeah, I agree with you, And.
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: I would say definitely like maybe not even a fake weapon,
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: like maybe just no no weapons, you know, like it's
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: just well, because people just don't know, right.
- 1:02:33Speaker 2: I do think that the mask is scary enough if
- 1:02:35Speaker 2: there's no weapon, Like, maybe that's a good compromise. I
- 1:02:39Speaker 2: do think it's something where I don't know how much
- 1:02:42Speaker 2: how well do you know your neighbors? How much do
- 1:02:44Speaker 2: you care about the rapport that you have with them?
- 1:02:47Speaker 2: Maybe it's worth having a conversation with them about and
- 1:02:51Speaker 2: saying so sorry if like that upset you. You know,
- 1:02:56Speaker 2: you don't have to get into anything with me that
- 1:02:59Speaker 2: you're not comfortable with, But like, would it bother you
- 1:03:03Speaker 2: if you know? I don't know, maybe you can find
- 1:03:06Speaker 2: some sort of like a middle ground where I don't.
- 1:03:08Speaker 3: Know how often is this kid gonna do this? It
- 1:03:10Speaker 3: sounds like yeah, kind of like that.
- 1:03:14Speaker 2: I don't know. And if he's constantly dressing up like
- 1:03:18Speaker 2: some sort of horrifying character, that might be different.
- 1:03:22Speaker 3: But I don't know.
- 1:03:23Speaker 1: If he's just going to the neighbor's house who they're
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: friends with and stare steering into their windows, I don't
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: see anything wrong with that. Yeah, being creepy outside, Like,
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: don't go to your other neighbors who you know don't
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: like it, go.
- 1:03:36Speaker 3: I mean your windows.
- 1:03:37Speaker 2: The tough thing is is that it's like it's a
- 1:03:39Speaker 2: public sidewalk, public street. Yeah, and so that goes both
- 1:03:45Speaker 2: ways because you can do what you want to a
- 1:03:48Speaker 2: point on a public sidewalk or whatever, But that also
- 1:03:52Speaker 2: means that other people can see you. So you you
- 1:03:55Speaker 2: might have intended this for only that neighbor that you
- 1:03:59Speaker 2: guys have go relationship with, but anybody else who looks
- 1:04:03Speaker 2: out their window is seeing it. So it's worth it's
- 1:04:06Speaker 2: worth at least considering.
- 1:04:08Speaker 3: I don't know, definitely weaponless, go weaponless.
- 1:04:13Speaker 2: I feel like weaponless is probably the way to go. Yeah,
- 1:04:16Speaker 2: for so many reasons.
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: Oh boy, yeah, yeah, And a lot of people said,
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: like if it were Halloween, that would be different, but
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: I would still say maybe no.
- 1:04:28Speaker 2: Weapon even on Halloween, that is not without potential hazard.
- 1:04:35Speaker 3: I would say, I think you're right.
- 1:04:37Speaker 2: I think weaponless almost regardless if any of the other
- 1:04:41Speaker 2: circumstances is probably the way to go. I know that
- 1:04:44Speaker 2: seems like so I don't know. Part of me is
- 1:04:48Speaker 2: it's so lame, But whatever.
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: This is what like I was concerned about. I have
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: no idea if this is true or not. It's just
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: somebody's comment. Oh it says we live in a world.
- 1:04:57Speaker 3: Where cops shot and killed a kid with a gun,
- 1:04:59Speaker 3: a toy gun missing. Oh it was missing the orange chip.
- 1:05:03Speaker 3: I thought it's that it had the orange chip on.
- 1:05:05Speaker 2: Oh right, so like but yeah, because that's what we
- 1:05:09Speaker 2: tell them, that it's a toy and it's.
- 1:05:11Speaker 3: Right, Like all they see is metal.
- 1:05:17Speaker 2: You could still step someone, even with adult knife. I
- 1:05:20Speaker 2: would argue it would be worse to step out. Oh god, Okay, yeah,
- 1:05:26Speaker 2: I didn't really see this taking a true crime bent,
- 1:05:28Speaker 2: but here we are.
- 1:05:30Speaker 3: Oh yeah, you're welcome. Okay, so yeah, thanks so much.
- 1:05:40Speaker 2: I pulled out my This is one of the Christmas
- 1:05:44Speaker 2: gifts that you get Toma. It's my little Leo pocket zodiac.
- 1:05:52Speaker 2: It has forty magical messages from the stars.
- 1:05:56Speaker 3: I love it. Let's care one.
- 1:05:59Speaker 2: Okay, should I do which category? So I can do love,
- 1:06:03Speaker 2: career well being or family well being?
- 1:06:08Speaker 3: I feel like that's good for an am.
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: I the asshole segment segment episode I mean to say, okay.
- 1:06:16Speaker 3: Let's see. Okay, I'm reading two of them.
- 1:06:20Speaker 2: There's nothing any of you can do to stop me,
- 1:06:23Speaker 2: but I dare you to try.
- 1:06:26Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:06:27Speaker 2: It's a woman like sitting in a tree. And then
- 1:06:29Speaker 2: there's this one she's like putting on makeup.
- 1:06:33Speaker 3: I'll have to take it. I'll have to take a
- 1:06:35Speaker 3: picture of these.
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: Okay, is the woman in the tree because she tripped
- 1:06:40Speaker 1: on a log, the bark eater, the.
- 1:06:47Speaker 3: Bark eater.
- 1:06:49Speaker 2: Hope she's eating bark and haunted pickles. Okay, love yourself.
- 1:06:56Speaker 2: The famous psychologist James Hellman's said beauty is something everybody
- 1:07:02Speaker 2: longs for. The soul yearns for it. Psychology seems to
- 1:07:06Speaker 2: have forgotten that. However, you haven't forgotten about beauty. It's
- 1:07:11Speaker 2: an intrinsic need in your vision of life. Love yourself
- 1:07:16Speaker 2: to heal yourself feels like very New Year's resolution.
- 1:07:21Speaker 3: It does. Yeah.
- 1:07:23Speaker 2: I remember kind of thumbing through the deck and thinking like, wow,
- 1:07:27Speaker 2: this is like the timing of this is very It
- 1:07:30Speaker 2: feels very right.
- 1:07:32Speaker 3: Okay, and the second one I'm gonna read is good Life.
- 1:07:36Speaker 2: Did you know that there is a frog in southern
- 1:07:39Speaker 2: Africa that is seemingly the saddest animal.
- 1:07:42Speaker 3: In the world. Oh, I know why. I own know.
- 1:07:49Speaker 3: It has a downturned snout and only comes out of
- 1:07:52Speaker 3: its den when it rains.
- 1:07:55Speaker 2: Oh I know it's gonna cut.
- 1:07:58Speaker 3: I'm only happy when it rains. I live like seeing
- 1:08:03Speaker 3: and then that song.
- 1:08:05Speaker 2: If it's true that we often need a mirror to
- 1:08:08Speaker 2: understand what we don't want to be, then you need
- 1:08:11Speaker 2: to mirror yourself in this frog and be the complete opposite.
- 1:08:16Speaker 2: So don't be the saddest frog in the world.
- 1:08:18Speaker 1: Don't be like condescending, don't or sha your opinions on
- 1:08:23Speaker 1: everyone else.
- 1:08:24Speaker 3: Like if you don't like it.
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: Yeah, like kind of what we were talking about through
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: all these people who didn't believe people's stories and we're
- 1:08:32Speaker 1: kind of rude about it. Yeah, grass frogs are green,
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: and so are pickles. That's true. And if there's moss
- 1:08:42Speaker 1: on the bark, then so is bark.
- 1:08:46Speaker 3: Which one was that? Was that the tree one or
- 1:08:48Speaker 3: the makeup? The makeup one was first that you read?
- 1:08:50Speaker 2: Yeah, the makeup one was the one I read first,
- 1:08:52Speaker 2: and the one with the frog is the tree one?
- 1:08:56Speaker 3: Ah yeah, okay, I think that's cute. What was the
- 1:08:59Speaker 3: first one? Again? Love yourself?
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: Oh yeah, okay, So I was thinking like, even if
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: you're an asshole, you should love yourself because only through love.
- 1:09:10Speaker 3: Because you're the only one that will if you keep
- 1:09:12Speaker 3: active with that. Hey, I was trying to be nice.
- 1:09:16Speaker 3: I would say only through love will your heart grow
- 1:09:19Speaker 3: three times? But it's not Christmas. Ah, that's right.
- 1:09:23Speaker 2: No, I do think you know, self love is important,
- 1:09:27Speaker 2: and I do think that probably if you try to
- 1:09:31Speaker 2: exhibit some of those qualities, you might find yourself also
- 1:09:35Speaker 2: being kinder to other people. I don't know, or maybe
- 1:09:39Speaker 2: you're just human trash.
- 1:09:42Speaker 3: I'd rather be big Jesus. Yeah, b joke, Joe, all right,
- 1:09:51Speaker 3: should we uh end this? Yeah? Asshole? Soowed have fastic
- 1:10:01Speaker 3: See you next Thursday. Tuesday.
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: I had it wrong, I know, I said. As soon
- 1:10:06Speaker 1: as it was coming out of my mouth, I was like, no,
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: that's not right. And I'm also waving at nothing.
- 1:10:10Speaker 3: I know.
- 1:10:10Speaker 2: Old habits are hard to break. You know, it's been
- 1:10:14Speaker 2: a struggle for us. Transition is difficult. Okay, everybody struggles
- 1:10:19Speaker 2: with it.
- 1:10:20Speaker 3: But we can do it. We might do it.
- 1:10:27Speaker 2: We don't know, like we already did it though we
- 1:10:31Speaker 2: already switched to Thursday.
- 1:10:32Speaker 3: We did Okay, we did it. We did it. We
- 1:10:35Speaker 3: did it. I thought you just meant life in general
- 1:10:37Speaker 3: we can do and I was like, we're doing it.
- 1:10:41Speaker 3: That might be doing it. That's less certain, but Thursdays
- 1:10:44Speaker 3: we already did. Yeah. Yeah, unless it turns into a Friday. Yeah,
- 1:10:49Speaker 3: who knows
