- 5:31Speaker 3: So I'm just kind of doing the commentary because you guys are like listening on the radio.
- 5:35Speaker 3: Myself I'm in my little bookers of button up long, kind of like long johns, although when I try and make it look like I'm here, I was just wiping the flock off from the Christmas tree in the back.

- 5:56Speaker 3: But the Chris the bourbon packer tiny Christmas tree setup this is the ornaments that I loved as a child.
- 6:05Speaker 3: It's got all my packer ornaments and then it's got also all my bourbon ornaments.
- 6:10Speaker 3: You could see on one of them the bourbon Kentucky Bourbon Festival 2021.
- 6:15Speaker 3: The angle is a little different.
- 6:17Speaker 3: So the barrel head that that we've had on before and in the past is for the Kentucky Bourbon Festival, is kind of out for the Christmas holiday, but the Bourbon Festival 2021 ornaments right in there.
- 6:30Speaker 3: So we, we, we cover all of our basis.
- 6:39Speaker 3: So so I think I did that pretty flawless right.
- 6:43Speaker 3: What did you say?
- 6:44Speaker 3: Pretty flawless?
- 6:46Speaker 4: You sure it is.
- 6:48Speaker 3: And I noticed you've been commenting.
- 6:49Speaker 3: Thank you for sharing.
- 6:51Speaker 3: We got a decent amount of people watching so far.
- 6:53Speaker 3: You know you get up there, I you know it would be.
- 6:56Speaker 3: As we go it just keeps like growing on how many are in at once, so that's nice.
- 7:02Speaker 3: So right now is, when you get up there, 910, it used to be 540, you know we're doubling.
- 7:07Speaker 3: People are talking, people are going, so that's really kind of going.
- 7:10Speaker 3: Tonight.
- 7:11Speaker 3: You're all here for the coolest.
- 7:13Speaker 3: This is what I look forward to all year, you know.
- 7:17Speaker 3: You know Booker's is us Super Dash me and you.
- 7:21Speaker 3: You know how much I love Booker's.
- 7:23Speaker 3: That's how you let.
- 7:24Speaker 3: That's like you knew I love Booker's brought us together and that's yeah, you knew it, we're together right there You're like look at that guy, I really want to be friends with him.
- 7:34Speaker 3: How can I be friends with him?
- 7:35Speaker 3: Oh, he loves Booker's.
- 7:36Speaker 3: I'll just send up some Booker's that are in his paintings and that'll just form a lifelong friendship, right.
- 7:44Speaker 4: Actually I was thinking is like holy shit, he's getting a painting son by Fred, and Freddie know he's in a tux how cool is that shit?
- 7:54Speaker 4: And he's that he's live with them at the Kentucky bourbon festival.
- 7:59Speaker 4: How do I get to know this guy so that I can?
- 8:03Speaker 4: Get in with Fred and Freddie know.
- 8:07Speaker 3: Honestly, that is even better than what I said.
- 8:10Speaker 3: But tonight we are take the tasting the line.
- 8:17Speaker 3: Every year we taste.
- 8:19Speaker 3: The year of Booker's.
- 8:21Speaker 3: Last year was really weird because we thought it was over and then it wasn't.
- 8:25Speaker 3: Now this year I know it's over because I saw the first batch of 2024.
- 8:30Speaker 3: Chris CT sent it to me.
- 8:32Speaker 3: It is the Springfield batch, which blows my mind why they would make a Springfield batch when you know and that's where CT's from is from Springfield.
- 8:43Speaker 3: So I said they should just bypass the Springfield part and just call it the CT batch.
- 8:48Speaker 3: He's like hell.
- 8:49Speaker 3: Yeah, that would be cool if there was a CT batch one day.
- 8:53Speaker 3: We just got to get.
- 8:54Speaker 3: We got to.
- 8:55Speaker 3: I think we got to be a little bit more in with Sandy and Fred and Freddie to get a batch named after one of us.
- 9:01Speaker 3: But yeah that would be amazing, that's a lot in it.
- 9:05Speaker 4: Oh really, that'd be so cool.
- 9:07Speaker 3: I know that, just you know.
- 9:08Speaker 3: There's some things you can just dream about.
- 9:11Speaker 4: But tonight the full.
- 9:13Speaker 4: There's nothing wrong with dreaming is there.
- 9:16Speaker 3: They released four batches this year.
- 9:17Speaker 3: The first batch was it took.
- 9:20Speaker 3: It seemed like it took forever, but the first batch was Charlie's batch.
- 9:23Speaker 3: It was 2301.
- 9:24Speaker 3: The second batch was the apprentice.
- 9:28Speaker 3: The third batch was the mighty fine batch which was right at Kentucky Bourbon Festival.
- 9:35Speaker 3: I think Carl picked it up right after.
- 9:38Speaker 3: And this fourth batch was just released just recently and that batch is the storyteller batch, which I have all four.
- 9:49Speaker 3: Yeah, I have all four, you have all four.
- 9:53Speaker 3: They're poured blind.
- 9:54Speaker 3: So the way this is going to work tonight, me and you both have our notebooks and our wives poured it.
- 10:00Speaker 3: I have no idea what's in front of me.
- 10:02Speaker 3: She's like Do you think these pores are too big?
- 10:04Speaker 3: And if you look at the pores in front of me for barrel strength, bourbon, they are a little big.
- 10:10Speaker 3: I mean my pores are a little big.
- 10:12Speaker 3: Oh my, who poured it?
- 10:16Speaker 3: Is that?
- 10:17Speaker 3: That's what's Sherry?
- 10:18Speaker 3: Your wife poured that?
- 10:20Speaker 3: Is she like trying to make you stay home tomorrow?
- 10:23Speaker 3: I mean, I'm not wasted any of this, but I think you need a little bit of when you're, when you're tasting blind.
- 10:31Speaker 3: What we're going to do is we're going to go through, we're going to nose the first one.
- 10:35Speaker 3: I'm going to end.
- 10:36Speaker 3: Read it, then we'll taste it, and then you're going to read the second one.
- 10:40Speaker 3: I've got the card with the light.
- 10:43Speaker 4: Well, no, the second one, then I'll read it, yeah.
- 10:46Speaker 3: And then the third one yeah, let's keep it Well no, then read it.
- 10:50Speaker 4: No, then read it.
- 10:51Speaker 3: All right.
- 10:52Speaker 3: So this batch that we have in front of us is really what?
- 10:56Speaker 4: When are we going to taste it?
- 10:57Speaker 4: We're going to notice it and read it.
- 11:00Speaker 4: No, no, no, no, no, no, no no, no, no, no, no.
- 11:02Speaker 3: We're going to nose it, read it, then then taste it and then go on to the next yes, and then, once we're done, right, right, but once we're done we're going to go back, and the purpose of this whole exercises why it's blind is to find the best batch.
- 11:24Speaker 3: I don't, there's, there's not the best tasting batch of this year, of what we think.
- 11:29Speaker 3: Now we might come up with one.
- 11:31Speaker 3: So what we could do is, when we number it, it's like you number which one's one, two, three and four, what you think is one, two, three and four, and what I think is one, two, three, four in the end, then you add it up for the scores of, so that we could come up with the best score.
- 11:50Speaker 3: Now, if there's a tie, then we'll put the two together in a taste test, a still keep it blind figure out and see if we can get one that's unanimous, all right.
- 12:03Speaker 4: What kind of score scoring system are we going to give it?
- 12:07Speaker 3: One, two, three and four.
- 12:10Speaker 4: One, two, three and four.
- 12:11Speaker 3: One if you're one, so the highest score is the lowest.
- 12:15Speaker 3: You know the one that gets a four.
- 12:18Speaker 3: If you get a four, it's hard to recover from that.
- 12:20Speaker 3: You know what I mean.
- 12:21Speaker 3: The lowest score is the best one.
- 12:24Speaker 4: I'm not going to score until after I actually actually go back in.
- 12:28Speaker 3: No, no, but no, we're not Second time.
- 12:30Speaker 3: Yeah, but the once we're done doing all the reading, then we can compare the two.
- 12:33Speaker 3: Go through, you know, talk, go over our notes and then we'll come through and we'll rate it for everyone.
- 12:40Speaker 4: Then I'll go back through and sip each one a second time Now everybody has to know.
- 12:47Speaker 3: Although the colors are matching up with the tags, the bourbons aren't matching up.
- 12:52Speaker 3: We're just giving you the information on each one as we go.
- 12:56Speaker 4: That doesn't mean we're, we don't know, because our wives four days and all they did was put a color dot on the bottom of the glass and and then, like my wife did she?
- 13:08Speaker 4: She wrote four batches and put the same color dot and then placed the paper somewhere on the desk here.
- 13:18Speaker 4: So, I'm nosing.
- 13:21Speaker 4: It's hidden on the desk so I don't know what's what and won't know until after this is completely over.
- 13:30Speaker 3: I don't.
- 13:30Speaker 3: I don't know where my wife put.
- 13:32Speaker 3: What was what?
- 13:37Speaker 4: on her phone.
- 13:39Speaker 3: Well, no, actually you know what's what, so I don't need it.
- 13:46Speaker 4: Well, I won't until after it's over, right, right.
- 13:49Speaker 3: No, no, I know, once it's yeah, you'll be able to pull the paper out for both of us.
- 13:54Speaker 3: I don't know where my wife put the paper, but I don't need it because you got it, because they're the same.
- 13:59Speaker 4: All right, what my wife did is she just took one of the color dots and she put it beside the same batch.
- 14:07Speaker 4: Oh, that's almost, you know.
- 14:08Speaker 4: She poured in the glass.
- 14:09Speaker 4: Okay, what color dot are you going with first?
- 14:14Speaker 3: red, starting with red Right, and I I noticed it, so I'll give you the low down on the whole down.
- 14:23Speaker 3: All right, the 20 2301 is Charlie's batch.
- 14:30Speaker 4: Well, the first release of.
- 14:32Speaker 4: Actually I laid these cards.
- 14:34Speaker 4: Are laid these cards up on top?
- 14:35Speaker 4: Of the glass and two of them actually matched up the red car.
- 14:39Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, with the red dot.
- 14:41Speaker 4: Well, I mean that don't mean anything.
- 14:43Speaker 3: No.
- 14:43Speaker 3: The first release of the Booker's Bourbon 2023 collection says Booker's batch 2301 Charlie's batch.
- 14:50Speaker 3: This batch is named in honor of Charlie Hutchins, the craftsman behind the signature wooden boxes that each bottle of Booker's Bourbon comes in.
- 15:00Speaker 3: He is also a longtime family friend and former employee of my dad, booker no.
- 15:05Speaker 3: Charlie started his career working at the Booker no distillery.
- 15:09Speaker 3: He was quite the storyteller and would entertain others with his halltales throughout the work day.
- 15:14Speaker 3: He also wanted to pay close attention to details, doing something over and over again until it was perfect, just like dad was with his whiskey.
- 15:24Speaker 3: It's not hard to see why they got on so well.
- 15:26Speaker 3: After several years, charlie left the business to open his own cabinet shop with his brother.
- 15:31Speaker 3: Charlie handcrafted the very first Booker's Bourbon wooden box in his garage and he created every box for a.
- 15:38Speaker 3: Since, he and his brother have expanded their business to create other fine wood products for different brands and projects in the beam family, including supplying custom furniture to the new Fred beam no distillery.
- 15:50Speaker 3: Booker's Bourbon is now distilled.
- 15:53Speaker 3: Charlie still lives near our Booker's no distillery and enjoys fishing and vacationing with his family in South Carolina.
- 16:00Speaker 3: One of these days, my son Freddie and I hope to go out there to fish with him.
- 16:05Speaker 3: Our whole family is so grateful for Charlie as he was one of the first people to help us make Booker's Bourbon a recognizable brand.
- 16:13Speaker 3: Charlie is a very worthy recipient of his own batch and we are excited to honor him.
- 16:19Speaker 3: That's Fred.
- 16:20Speaker 3: No, did that?
- 16:20Speaker 3: So this batch?
- 16:22Speaker 3: The color of the batch is pleasant to the eye amber color, well aged bourbon.
- 16:27Speaker 3: The nose is balanced, with no to, with without too much wood and hints of oak, toasted nuts and vanilla.
- 16:35Speaker 3: This is the aroma that dad always look for in his bookers.
- 16:38Speaker 3: The taste is balanced, with a slight warmth and pleasant finish.
- 16:41Speaker 3: This batch came out just the way dad liked it.
- 16:44Speaker 3: I know he would be happy that I named it for Charlie.
- 16:46Speaker 3: I hope you enjoy this batch of bookers as much as I do.
- 16:50Speaker 3: 3% came from the fifth floor, seven story of warehouse Q.
- 16:54Speaker 3: 17th from the fourth floor, seventh story of warehouse G.
- 16:59Speaker 3: 24 came from the fourth floor, seven story, warehouse Z.
- 17:01Speaker 3: 27 came from fifth floor, seven story, warehouse Z and 29% from the fifth floor of seven story, warehouse I.
- 17:11Speaker 3: That's what you got for that batch.
- 17:13Speaker 3: Let's give her a taste, I think.
- 17:15Speaker 3: Get these off because you go next.
- 17:21Speaker 4: Wait, get on the nose.
- 17:24Speaker 3: I get the classic Booker's nut that he talked about that you know like that.
- 17:30Speaker 3: What did he call it?
- 17:33Speaker 3: It was what kind of nut?
- 17:35Speaker 3: Toasted nut?
- 17:36Speaker 3: Yeah, it's a toasted nut flavor that I always get with Booker's.
- 17:40Speaker 3: It's there, but there's a little bit of brown sugar and then a ton of apple.
- 17:50Speaker 4: Apple fun, vanilla and cinnamon.
- 17:52Speaker 3: I get a ton of vanilla though, yeah, I was gonna say you're getting any apple.
- 17:56Speaker 3: I could see where you're getting it Black, green, apple.
- 18:01Speaker 3: More like a Macintosh, it's like a sweet apple.
- 18:07Speaker 3: It's like a caramel.
- 18:10Speaker 3: It's almost like a caramel apple.
- 18:12Speaker 3: All right, let's taste it.
- 18:16Speaker 3: I'm going to have palate shock here.
- 18:18Speaker 3: Oh wow.
- 18:26Speaker 3: The 2020-301 batch is 63.30 ABV 126.6.
- 18:39Speaker 3: Seven years, one month and eight days.
- 18:41Speaker 3: Now I'm going to tell you, the legs on this are fantastic.
- 18:47Speaker 3: Just rolls down exactly.
- 18:50Speaker 3: It's almost like I'm looking through a jail bars.
- 18:55Speaker 4: Prison bars.
- 18:56Speaker 4: Silky mouth feel to it.
- 18:58Speaker 3: It's very probably, it's creamy, very, and then it's there's a lot.
- 19:06Speaker 4: That's why I said silky, but you can say creamy.
- 19:14Speaker 3: It's weird the pepper's at the back of your throat but not on your taste buds, on the back of your tongue, so it's not a.
- 19:24Speaker 3: It's really strange that it's not a peppery.
- 19:28Speaker 4: I'm getting that vanilla a little bit of oakiness up front slightly and that cinnamon a little bit of cinnamon up front, the part that really stands out is the warmth.
- 19:41Speaker 3: This is a very the whiskey tastes almost, has some heat to it, like when you're tasting it.
- 19:47Speaker 3: The whiskey and this is in my basement at 66 degrees, it's not.
- 19:54Speaker 3: There's been no warming up of it.
- 19:55Speaker 3: You know what I mean.
- 19:56Speaker 3: So toasted Silky I'm trying to.
- 20:12Speaker 3: Is that all spice?
- 20:16Speaker 3: I'm going to go with all spice.
- 20:21Speaker 3: And then there's a little apple on the finish, not that green apple.
- 20:34Speaker 4: It's that Macintosh like sweet bread up.
- 20:37Speaker 3: Cinnamon on the front of the palette.
- 20:42Speaker 4: Cinnamon silky.
- 20:44Speaker 3: But what's really strange is it's that's not a normal batch of bookers.
- 20:50Speaker 3: It's absent of that brown sugar caramel.
- 20:55Speaker 3: There's not.
- 20:56Speaker 3: You know what I mean.
- 20:57Speaker 3: There's the apple-y and there's the cinnamon-y, and then what's okay.
- 21:00Speaker 3: So there we go.
- 21:01Speaker 3: We gave that part.
- 21:02Speaker 3: Just a little, just a little All right, you read too no In your printout.
- 21:10Speaker 3: Big, big boy form Sweet apple.
- 21:14Speaker 3: I'm going to nose too.
- 21:20Speaker 4: God, I didn't enjoy that batch.
- 21:22Speaker 4: Just got a nice hug.
- 21:23Speaker 4: I like that hug on there.
- 21:25Speaker 4: One more last sip of this.
- 21:27Speaker 3: Why am I?
- 21:28Speaker 3: Oh my God, really.
- 21:31Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 21:31Speaker 3: So I went to two.
- 21:35Speaker 3: I took the sips, I got my notes.
- 21:37Speaker 3: Now the two is blue, blue the nose.
- 21:44Speaker 3: I can't believe I'm going to say this, but I get lime skittle on the nose On two.
- 21:52Speaker 3: Wow, all day long.
- 21:56Speaker 3: That is so weird, don't you?
- 21:58Speaker 3: Yeah, it's like a lime skittle on the nose and that's all I.
- 22:07Speaker 3: That is so weird.
- 22:09Speaker 4: Yeah, as soon as I put it up to my nose, you can smell that sweet little lime skittle.
- 22:15Speaker 3: And it's peppery.
- 22:16Speaker 3: There's pepper, but it's.
- 22:18Speaker 3: It is a one dimensional lime skittle.
- 22:22Speaker 4: No, it's not a black pepper.
- 22:24Speaker 4: This is more like a white pepper, yeah, or of a subtle.
- 22:29Speaker 3: It's more like no, this is more like with the lime, this is more like a jalapeno.
- 22:34Speaker 3: Just a hint of jalapeno.
- 22:37Speaker 3: All right, you got to read.
- 22:40Speaker 3: You shouldn't have tasted.
- 22:42Speaker 3: We're only sn-nose read.
- 22:44Speaker 4: It's time for you to I'm just nose and a you were trying to cheat All right?
- 22:49Speaker 4: No, I didn't taste it, I just nose did.
- 22:52Speaker 3: I'm going to go back and look.
- 22:53Speaker 3: It's on video.
- 22:56Speaker 4: Or was that Maybe, and they're back and look All right.
- 23:03Speaker 4: A second release of Booker's Bourbon 2023 collection is Booker's batch 23-2023-02 of Princess batch.
- 23:16Speaker 4: This batch pays homage to the early days of my dad.
- 23:20Speaker 4: Booker knows career Far before he was the sixth generation master distiller when he first learned the art of making bourbon under the guidance of his cousin, Carl Beane.
- 23:34Speaker 3: Pretty cool, just a second.
- 23:38Speaker 4: Let me make sure I got my pages in order here.
- 23:43Speaker 3: You don't.
- 23:43Speaker 3: You're super-nash.
- 23:44Speaker 3: You never have your pages in order.
- 23:46Speaker 3: If you need me to take over, I'm ready.
- 23:55Speaker 3: I got the light.
- 23:57Speaker 4: All right, here we go.
- 23:59Speaker 4: All right, Booker started working at the Jim B Distillery in Clearmont in 1952.
- 24:03Speaker 4: Carl like a mentor to him.
- 24:06Speaker 4: Back then they didn't have official titles like Master Distiller, but everyone knew Carl was in charge.
- 24:13Speaker 4: He didn't put up with any foolishness and make sure Booker was set straight.
- 24:18Speaker 4: But even if Booker did mess around sometimes, he was a fast learner and was ready to be put to work, and that quickly got him Carl's approval.
- 24:28Speaker 4: Two years after Booker started, we purchased a distillery in Boston, kentucky, to increase our production capabilities.
- 24:34Speaker 4: Carl and Booker worked closely together to get it up and running and eventually Carl handed the reins over to Booker.
- 24:44Speaker 4: This is where he was able to experiment and master the bourbon making process.
- 24:48Speaker 4: And later on the location was renamed the Booker no Distillery.
- 24:52Speaker 4: Carl showed Booker the ropes at the distillery, but from there his approach was sink or swim, and it was just the push Booker needed.
- 25:03Speaker 4: His apprenticeship under Carl helped him become the Master Distiller and legendary innovator.
- 25:08Speaker 4: We all remember him as today.
- 25:13Speaker 3: So that Fred is writing these memories of everything about his dad, right Booker.
- 25:21Speaker 4: Yeah, because Booker.
- 25:22Speaker 4: Yeah, being family seventh generation Master Distiller.
- 25:27Speaker 3: When you think about it, these bottles are recording history.
- 25:30Speaker 3: It's kind of like he's not letting his dad's history and what he did through the batches be lost, and I really think that's a cool thing, don't you?
- 25:42Speaker 3: Yeah, I would say so, all right.
- 25:46Speaker 3: So what do we got?
- 25:48Speaker 3: What do you going to read the tasting notes, or don't you have that?
- 25:52Speaker 3: Do you have that in the back?
- 25:54Speaker 4: Yeah, I think.
- 26:08Speaker 3: I'll let you know.
- 26:08Speaker 3: It starts off with the liquid is a medium amber color.
- 26:13Speaker 3: This batch, this batch is sixty two point seven, five ABV.
- 26:25Speaker 3: One twenty five point five proof and seven years, one month, two days Go ahead.
- 26:32Speaker 4: Wait a second, oh three, oh one or two.
- 26:43Speaker 3: Yeah, there you go.
- 26:45Speaker 4: This batch is made up of barrels that were aged in six different warehouses.
- 26:49Speaker 4: The breakdown of barrel storage for bookers of Perkman's batch is as follows Seven percent came from the southern floor of a nine story warehouse age.
- 26:59Speaker 4: Nine percent came from the fourth floor of seven story warehouse.
- 27:03Speaker 4: W.
- 27:03Speaker 4: 11 percent came from the fourth floor of seven story warehouse.
- 27:07Speaker 4: One eighteen percent came from the fourth floor of seven story warehouse.
- 27:12Speaker 4: Oh, nineteen percent came from the fourth floor of nine story warehouse.
- 27:17Speaker 4: Gee, thirty thirty six percent came from the fourth floor of seven story warehouse.
- 27:24Speaker 4: The liquid is a medium amber color of the seven year spent agent in a wide oak barrels, the oak floor to Roman is well balanced with notes of vanilla and toasted nuts.
- 27:36Speaker 4: And all together the result is really pleasant.
- 27:38Speaker 4: After the first step you'll find the long finished doesn't overpower the warm taste.
- 27:44Speaker 4: I know Carl and Booker would have been proud of this batch and enjoyed it together after a long day's work at the distillery.
- 27:54Speaker 3: There you go, so let's give this a taste.
- 27:56Speaker 3: Now, once again, folks, we're not tasting what we're reading, we're just reading the batches.
- 28:01Speaker 3: We've been blinded by our wives.
- 28:04Speaker 3: We don't know what we're tasting, but we know this one.
- 28:07Speaker 3: And we came up with lime skittle, which is the most ridiculous, but we both picked up that lime flavor.
- 28:13Speaker 3: Now, coming back to now, I pick up a little bit.
- 28:16Speaker 3: I'm picking up the lime still, but I pick up a little bit of that toasted nut, the toasted nut, now that it's been, but this has been in my glass, honestly, for four, six, what time is it?
- 28:29Speaker 3: It's 9.25, so three and a half hours.
- 28:31Speaker 3: So this is the legitimate whiskey that we're tasting.
- 28:40Speaker 3: Todd Johnson says how much have you drank already?
- 29:30Speaker 3: No, just we, just all we did, todd is drank the first one, the first blind, and now we're on the second one.
- 29:40Speaker 4: I had just about that much of Booker's CO1 that.
- 29:52Speaker 4: I had opened up for pre-pore, just a little bit.
- 29:57Speaker 3: Now, now this one picks up a lot of caramel.
- 30:02Speaker 3: I'm the that lime is gone.
- 30:05Speaker 3: There's caramel, there's, and there's a little bit more pepper, but not too much pepper.
- 30:15Speaker 4: I sure smelt it, that sweet little time skittle.
- 30:18Speaker 4: Yeah, it was very prevalent as soon as I put my nose to the glass.
- 30:26Speaker 3: Now this batch.
- 30:27Speaker 3: Wow, that is a bold batch.
- 30:35Speaker 3: There's a lot of boldness on that.
- 30:38Speaker 3: I mean that body is fantastic and what's happening?
- 30:44Speaker 3: That caramel explosion we're on.
- 30:47Speaker 3: The last batch it was that white pepper kind of in the back letting you taste all everything forward.
- 30:52Speaker 3: This time it's caramel on the back of your palate but it goes straight through the whole palate with the toasted nut.
- 31:01Speaker 3: I'm getting the toasted nut.
- 31:04Speaker 4: I'm getting that pepper on the finish.
- 31:07Speaker 3: I get a little bit of the pepper, but it still is intrusive, like where it gets rid of flavors.
- 31:13Speaker 3: You know what I mean.
- 31:14Speaker 3: It's not so peppery and it doesn't have that.
- 31:18Speaker 3: There's no bite to it, as far as you know.
- 31:21Speaker 3: When you get that bite and it stings your tongue and then your tongue's like I can't taste anything else.
- 31:27Speaker 3: You don't get that at all.
- 31:28Speaker 3: So there's where the lime is on the.
- 31:37Speaker 3: The lime comes back.
- 31:38Speaker 3: Yeah, I'll give you that.
- 31:39Speaker 3: The lime comes back on the finish.
- 31:41Speaker 3: That limey taste is back on the finish.
- 31:48Speaker 4: I'm not getting that clove until like mid mid palate to the finish, Just slight.
- 31:55Speaker 3: But then on the back palate, that caramel.
- 31:57Speaker 3: Let's see, now I'm gonna, I'm gonna that, that that's a delicious that sweetness, yeah, that sweetness is there.
- 32:06Speaker 3: With the toasted nut.
- 32:09Speaker 3: Caramel toasted nut.
- 32:12Speaker 3: I would call that caramel toasted nut batch.
- 32:14Speaker 3: All right, so let's know, is this next one?
- 32:19Speaker 3: This one is the green.
- 32:22Speaker 4: I'm gonna say that to me is got more like a like toasted hazelnuts.
- 32:28Speaker 4: Yeah, almost like.
- 32:33Speaker 4: Well, that's almost like a like a Christmas bourbon in your mouth.
- 32:37Speaker 4: No, with that little bit of clove, toasted hazelnuts, caramel.
- 32:44Speaker 3: F, toasted nut, little lime finish, almost finishes like a tequila after you suck the lime.
- 32:53Speaker 3: All right, so I'm going with green for the nose and I'm just, the green for the nose is the best nose.
- 33:05Speaker 3: Yeah, for fruit.
- 33:06Speaker 3: I can't, I can't blouse.
- 33:07Speaker 3: Oh, my god, it's rich, butter, toffee, rich butter, toffee nose.
- 33:16Speaker 4: What color are we?
- 33:17Speaker 3: going with green, we're going with green and I I know that and I will start with this batch three, which is and I mean that is a, that is the richest color.
- 33:30Speaker 4: And it's got like peanut brittle.
- 33:34Speaker 3: Like I get the toast yeah, because peanut brittle is almost, but I get a toffee.
- 33:39Speaker 3: Excuse me.
- 33:42Speaker 4: They're almost hand to hand.
- 33:45Speaker 3: Oh, it's so rich and delicious, Almost like it's burnt.
- 33:52Speaker 3: It's so rich and delicious that nose is.
- 33:57Speaker 3: That's what I want.
- 33:58Speaker 3: I want that for a nose.
- 34:02Speaker 4: I'm getting that burnt brown sugar right there.
- 34:05Speaker 3: Yeah, all right, let's see what.
- 34:09Speaker 3: So 2303 is the mighty fine batch, the third release of Booker's Bourbon 2023 collection.
- 34:15Speaker 3: Booker's batch 2303 mighty fine batch.
- 34:18Speaker 3: This batch is named in honor of the signature phrase my dad, booker.
- 34:23Speaker 3: No use to compliment anything he approved of from his namesake bourbon to his country ham.
- 34:29Speaker 3: If you knew Booker then you knew mighty fine was his go to phrase.
- 34:33Speaker 3: He would often go together with other folks in the bourbon industry to taste samples of Booker's bourbon, and everyone knew he was happy with his selection when he sipped it and said it was mighty fine, followed by that's a damn good batch.
- 34:51Speaker 3: Shortly before dad passed away in 2004, I selected the barrels for a Booker's bourbon batch for the very first time.
- 34:58Speaker 3: I was a little nervous at first.
- 34:59Speaker 3: I had big shoes to fill.
- 35:01Speaker 3: After tasting the sample I shared with him, he looked at me and said mighty fine job, son.
- 35:07Speaker 3: A lot of people thought it was one of the best batches, but receiving dad's vote of confidence made it that much more special for me.
- 35:16Speaker 3: I'll never forget that moment.
- 35:18Speaker 3: Booker was not one to embellish his compliments with many descriptive words, but I have a feeling he would say that this batch is mighty fine.
- 35:26Speaker 3: I hope you think so too, fred.
- 35:28Speaker 3: No, all right, this batch is made up of barrels from seven production dates that were aged in six different warehouses.
- 35:36Speaker 3: The breakdown of the barrel storage for Booker's mighty fine batch is 2%.
- 35:40Speaker 3: Fifth floor of seven storey, warehouse Q3,.
- 35:43Speaker 3: Sixth floor of seven storey, warehouse Z.
- 35:46Speaker 3: 8%.
- 35:48Speaker 3: Fifth floor, nine storey.
- 35:49Speaker 3: Ninth storey, warehouse G.
- 35:52Speaker 3: 10%.
- 35:52Speaker 3: Sixth floor, seven storey, warehouse I.
- 35:55Speaker 3: 10% came from the fifth floor, nine storey, warehouse H, 12% came from fifth floor of nine storey, warehouse G and 55% came from the fifth floor of seven storey warehouse three.
- 36:06Speaker 3: Now, just in contrast of the other three, the other two batches the other batches had a bunch of 20% and whatever, but this one was made up of a bunch of different warehouses and smaller quantities and one.
- 36:21Speaker 3: Fred must have found a place where he found something that was absolutely great and pulled that with 55% of the batch.
- 36:31Speaker 4: So that's kind of cool.
- 36:33Speaker 4: I was just looking back at the other batch cards and yeah, he must have found a honey barrel that he pulled 55% of.
- 36:42Speaker 3: Yeah, that area.
- 36:43Speaker 3: But this nose, on this one I would say this would be a nose of a bourbon of the year for me.
- 36:51Speaker 3: I'm not saying that it tastes good and it is, but that's the kind of nose that I want when I drink bourbon.
- 36:57Speaker 3: I love this nose.
- 36:59Speaker 3: If I'm going to bash it, it gets a butt up at five or four.
- 37:03Speaker 3: Yeah, it goes from a four to a five.
- 37:06Speaker 3: If I'm going to rate this at a 25, this is a 25.
- 37:13Speaker 3: It's of any bookers I've ever noticed.
- 37:16Speaker 3: It just hits my olfactory.
- 37:22Speaker 4: All right, you read the tasting apps on that, or just to break?
- 37:27Speaker 3: down.
- 37:27Speaker 3: I will now.
- 37:28Speaker 3: I wanted to taste it.
- 37:31Speaker 4: Oh, after you tasted it, I got it.
- 37:33Speaker 4: God, the color of this booker's best.
- 37:35Speaker 4: Oh no, it's yours, go ahead.
- 37:39Speaker 3: This has to be.
- 37:40Speaker 3: I've tasted the other three, so this one, if you, if I'm going to guess this one toffee nut, this one, the taste is fantastic.
- 37:58Speaker 3: It's creamy caramel.
- 38:00Speaker 3: This is what I love about bourbon.
- 38:02Speaker 3: This one has to be the one I didn't taste.
- 38:05Speaker 3: I didn't taste either Charlie's batch or I didn't taste the newest one, which is the storytellers.
- 38:12Speaker 3: And if it's the storyteller, they just nailed the living shit out of it, because that is some of the best bourbon.
- 38:20Speaker 3: There's no pepper on this one, oh gosh.
- 38:24Speaker 3: And what's happening when you look at what happens to your glass after you sip it?
- 38:30Speaker 3: How holy crap.
- 38:33Speaker 3: My note my note is for the green, my note for the taste is WTF.
- 38:46Speaker 3: So here's the taste.
- 38:50Speaker 3: Here's the All right, let's get back at the tasting notes.
- 38:53Speaker 3: You know, I found out that I'm technically not really blind.
- 38:56Speaker 3: I can see if I have enough light, and this light proves it, because I'm going to read the tasting notes with this, without the glasses, and let's just see what happens.
- 39:07Speaker 3: The color of Booker's batch, of this booker's batch, invites you to take a long look.
- 39:14Speaker 3: Enjoy the rich, beautiful color.
- 39:16Speaker 3: The nose is very pleasant with all the characteristics dad looked for in his namesake bourbon, the vanilla and brown sugar sweet notes coming through very well from the white oak barrels.
- 39:27Speaker 3: The bourbon aged is for seven, for over seven years.
- 39:31Speaker 3: The taste is great and full body.
- 39:33Speaker 3: When I added a splash of water it opened up some great flavors with a finish that gives a lovely Kentucky hug.
- 39:41Speaker 3: My dad would say that this is a mighty fine batch of Booker's.
- 39:45Speaker 3: All right, so there we go.
- 39:48Speaker 3: I would say that this one's a mighty fine, but I don't know what it is.
- 39:53Speaker 3: But it's green, and green right now has put it this way All of them.
- 40:02Speaker 3: There's no bookers that I don't like.
- 40:03Speaker 3: I love Booker's.
- 40:04Speaker 3: This is my brand.
- 40:06Speaker 3: This is what inspired me to do a podcast.
- 40:09Speaker 3: This is the first bottle of anything expensive I ever bought.
- 40:13Speaker 3: I thought $74.99 for a bottle in 2019 was a lot, and this is.
- 40:21Speaker 3: I bought that kitchen table.
- 40:23Speaker 3: I'll never forget that kitchen table batch.
- 40:25Speaker 3: That is the batch that I.
- 40:28Speaker 3: It was so special to me.
- 40:30Speaker 3: Now this batch here, I would probably whatever this is, I would go look and get more bottles and put bottles up, because this is probably one of the best bookers.
- 40:43Speaker 3: This kills the.
- 40:46Speaker 3: What was it?
- 40:47Speaker 3: The football one from the?
- 40:54Speaker 3: Whatever this, this kills 21.
- 40:56Speaker 3: This kills 2022.
- 40:58Speaker 3: This one right now is straight up and I would say this one would.
- 41:02Speaker 3: I don't think there's much that could go up against this.
- 41:10Speaker 3: So, I did not taste Charlie's or storyteller those both.
- 41:18Speaker 3: I tasted Charlie's batch with you, at the kitchen table, with you and Chris that day.
- 41:26Speaker 3: There they had Charlie's batch right there available for us to drink and we all had a poor.
- 41:31Speaker 3: Thank you, super Nash.
- 41:33Speaker 3: We had a poor because you bought us all a poor and again, I love you, brother man.
- 41:40Speaker 4: I love you too, brother.
- 41:43Speaker 3: All right, what, what's your?
- 41:46Speaker 3: What's your?
- 41:47Speaker 3: Caramel, vanilla, vanilla, coffee brown sugar coffee, brown sugar finish.
- 41:59Speaker 3: Burnt brown sugar, brown sugar finish.
- 42:06Speaker 3: I mean, there's no leather, there's no chocolate.
- 42:11Speaker 3: This is, this is the definition of why I love bourbon.
- 42:15Speaker 3: This is bookers is a dessert bourbon, and I really think rare breed, rare breed is a.
- 42:23Speaker 4: I do get like a little bit of leather, but it's on the finish, after, after it's gone and like I'm smacking and you're chewing on the horse's reins.
- 42:38Speaker 4: But it's like it's sweet.
- 42:43Speaker 3: Get it up, brother.
- 42:46Speaker 4: Get it up.
- 42:48Speaker 3: So you're chewing on the.
- 42:49Speaker 3: So, in other words, you're chewing on the part of the leather that's in the horse's mouth after you give him a sugar cube.
- 42:55Speaker 3: Oh my God.
- 43:03Speaker 4: Oh, that's it, but I'm you know on the top of my palate.
- 43:08Speaker 4: I'm getting this just.
- 43:12Speaker 3: Pinkies batch.
- 43:13Speaker 3: Walker says has this is, this is the one.
- 43:16Speaker 3: It's not tag along, but this was the one that had an actual football helmet.
- 43:21Speaker 3: Oh, it wasn't Pinkies batch.
- 43:24Speaker 3: I remember what it was, but I love that batch.
- 43:29Speaker 3: I drank the shit.
- 43:32Speaker 3: I drank the shit out of it.
- 43:33Speaker 3: I drank it.
- 43:34Speaker 3: I drank two bottles and bought the third bottle.
- 43:37Speaker 3: I mean, there's the, you know, there's not a lot that I always you know.
- 43:42Speaker 3: So all right, so I've got three let's, let's go to four.
- 43:50Speaker 4: All right, we are on to the yellow.
- 43:55Speaker 3: And you're on to the nose is pretty good.
- 43:59Speaker 3: I like it.
- 44:01Speaker 3: Second place nose caramel, a little bit of apple, even some pear at the top, and a little bit of leather and some char.
- 44:15Speaker 3: This is okay.
- 44:19Speaker 3: So I'll give this nose the most complex winner that wins the complexity award.
- 44:25Speaker 3: That nose is so complex, char.
- 44:32Speaker 3: There you go I mean everybody, just hang in here, man, we are going to pick the scotchy bourbon boys bookers of the year.
- 44:48Speaker 4: Yes, we are.
- 44:50Speaker 3: All right, give the.
- 44:50Speaker 3: Give the last reading here of batch four.
- 44:56Speaker 4: The label of inspiration bookers bourbon 2023 collection is bookers batch 202 304 story tellers batch.
- 45:06Speaker 4: This batch is named after the way my dad booker know it turned just about anything he talked about into interesting story.
- 45:16Speaker 4: That was a natural storyteller while out on the road to promote his name.
- 45:22Speaker 4: He would tell anyone who would listen about how bookers, burger came about, distributors and other industry folks.
- 45:30Speaker 4: Jim beam hired an actor.
- 45:33Speaker 4: That's how good, he was, he told a lot of different stories but, one of his favorite took place during a visit to Chicago.
- 45:42Speaker 4: While eating in a nice restaurant, Booker was served a so called country ham However it didn't quite match up to the idea of a true bona fide country ham.
- 45:52Speaker 4: So he learned over is.
- 45:54Speaker 4: He leaned over to his publicist and right handed man asked him to retrieve the ham he had stashed in the trunk of an upcoming stash for an upcoming Alaska fishing trip.
- 46:08Speaker 4: Booker wanted to show the chef what genuine country ham tasted like.
- 46:14Speaker 4: After a bit of back and forth, the ham made its way into the restaurant where.
- 46:18Speaker 4: Booker generously shared it with both the chef and the other diners.
- 46:22Speaker 4: That story always got the whole room laughing.
- 46:25Speaker 4: Booker enjoyed telling stories just as much as he loved making bourbon.
- 46:30Speaker 4: He would strike up a conversation with a stranger and by the end of it they would feel like lifelong friends.
- 46:36Speaker 4: Dad would always say be yourself and talk about the things you've actually lived, and I think my son.
- 46:44Speaker 1: Freddie and.
- 46:44Speaker 4: I do the good job at this story.
- 46:47Speaker 4: Storytelling is certainly a no family trait.
- 46:49Speaker 4: I hope you take the opportunity to share stories with family, friends and even strangers while you sit this batch, Just as Booker would have done.
- 46:58Speaker 4: Red know being family's seventh master generation master distiller.
- 47:05Speaker 3: So that story Fred told in his book.
- 47:10Speaker 3: So I knew that story where he went and got the I mean that chef that at that restaurant in Chicago it was a Chicago restaurant that they were at.
- 47:23Speaker 3: This way he tells that story of how he got it and what country ham should taste like.
- 47:30Speaker 3: Probably changed that chef's career like he probably started making country ham.
- 47:37Speaker 3: Now one of the cool things about that whole story is is that Freddie and Fred, they have that same Booker smoker in the backyard and we've been there multiple times when they were using that smoker.
- 47:53Speaker 3: Plus, this year at the at the Kentucky bourbon festival there was a country ham going around.
- 48:01Speaker 3: It was being carved on stage.
- 48:03Speaker 3: We got to taste some when we bought, when we had Fred and Freddie sign our bottles of little book.
- 48:09Speaker 3: I mean, freddie, just cut it, you could see shorts.
- 48:13Speaker 3: And also in our you know YouTube video there was you know it's Freddie cutting the country ham for me and eating it and then also for Supernash and that country ham was delicious.
- 48:29Speaker 3: The one thing that I've been doing lately is bring the ham with the 20 year olds New York or Canadian.
- 48:40Speaker 3: You know white cheddar, I love aged white cheddar with that and then you throw in a cigar with some bourbon and the experience goes off the charts.
- 48:52Speaker 3: So, anyways, that I love the romance of this batch.
- 48:58Speaker 3: I'm hoping what I was tasting, because I hope I love the romance and I love the taste of it because I don't know what I'm picking, so far, right, hmm, this one.
- 49:11Speaker 3: So this is a caramel Werther's with a toasted nuts.
- 49:18Speaker 3: A car, but the con peanuts.
- 49:24Speaker 3: And then a cherry aspect at the bottom Caramel.
- 49:31Speaker 4: Even a little bit of tobacco.
- 49:33Speaker 3: I'll give you tobacco a little.
- 49:36Speaker 4: A little sweet tobacco.
- 49:38Speaker 3: What I love about all bookers is they are on profile.
- 49:43Speaker 3: They don't stray, taste wise very far.
- 49:49Speaker 3: You know what I mean.
- 49:50Speaker 3: But this, this nose, is the most complex of the all of them.
- 49:55Speaker 3: I would give this complex, I would give this nose a boat, but up up to.
- 50:08Speaker 4: Let me write down just a couple more notes here, and I'll read the breakdown so, that taste wise, classic or classic bookers, it's the classic bookers.
- 50:30Speaker 3: I pick up that toasted note flavor.
- 50:32Speaker 3: There's a little bit of leather.
- 50:36Speaker 3: The sweetness isn't there's.
- 50:38Speaker 3: The sweetness of the other batches is not there.
- 50:42Speaker 3: Kentucky bourbon, it's just it's.
- 50:46Speaker 3: It's not dessert bourbon, it is.
- 50:48Speaker 3: It defines Kentucky bourbon.
- 50:51Speaker 3: When you're in a Rick Rick house, this is what you smell.
- 50:54Speaker 3: A lot of times you don't.
- 50:57Speaker 3: When you walk into a Rick house, you smell whiskey.
- 50:59Speaker 3: You smell a lot of sugar.
- 51:01Speaker 3: When you walk into a Rick house, you smell whiskey.
- 51:04Speaker 3: You smell aging whiskey.
- 51:06Speaker 3: You smell oak, you smell.
- 51:08Speaker 3: You usually don't pick up caramel.
- 51:11Speaker 3: You're not picking up caramel and toffee when you're in a Rick house.
- 51:15Speaker 3: This is what this is like on the level of a bookers, on a level of cave Just deliciousness.
- 51:26Speaker 4: Oh my gosh.
- 51:27Speaker 4: Yes, this is like a Rick, you're tasting over it.
- 51:32Speaker 4: I didn't even break it down.
- 51:34Speaker 4: You know, your story about storage.
- 51:41Speaker 4: Teller batches made up of barrels from four production dates that were aged in four different warehouses.
- 51:47Speaker 4: The breakdown of barrel storage for this batches as follows 26% came from sixth floor of seven story, warehouse Z.
- 51:59Speaker 4: 14% came from sixth floor of nine story, warehouse H.
- 52:04Speaker 4: 25% came from the fifth floor of nine story, warehouse G.
- 52:11Speaker 4: And 35% came from the fifth floor of seven story warehouse three the teller, story teller batch is a rich amber with a golden shine sitting in your glass.
- 52:23Speaker 4: The scent of a great bourbon fills the room and invites you to further explore the brown sugar aroma.
- 52:30Speaker 4: The taste is delightful, with a well and well balance with notes of vanilla and wood.
- 52:36Speaker 4: I tasted this batch on a drizzly September day.
- 52:40Speaker 4: There was a slight chill in the air and it reminded me that it follows just around the corner and this bourbon has the perfect warm finish for the days to come A little bit of water further open up.
- 52:53Speaker 4: open the tasting experience for me, but you can enjoy it in any way you please.
- 52:57Speaker 4: Story teller batch is just the way dad would have wanted it when he created the brand over 30 years ago.
- 53:04Speaker 4: I can almost hear him telling one of his great stories while he sips on a sip of glass of his own.
- 53:10Speaker 4: I hope you enjoy this batch as much as I do.
- 53:14Speaker 3: So for Walker, the batch was pigskin is what I was referring.
- 53:20Speaker 3: And yes, Pinky's batch did have a football helmet.
- 53:23Speaker 3: Pigskin had a football, but pigskin.
- 53:26Speaker 3: That year I bought three bottles of pigskin, Although when we tasted it for Booker's 2021, pigskin did not stand up up against the couple other of the podcasts.
- 53:43Speaker 3: Yeah, comments with 200 stars on more.
- 53:46Speaker 3: Okay.
- 53:48Speaker 4: Cherry, what Cherry on this.
- 53:52Speaker 4: Any like cherry on this, on the finished tart cherry.
- 54:00Speaker 3: There's like a sweet tart cherry, yeah, but, like I said, this tastes like bourbon.
- 54:09Speaker 3: This is the definition.
- 54:11Speaker 3: What I'll say on all four of them, not one of them, is with what Fred's doing and Freddie are doing with these batches.
- 54:24Speaker 3: Now, what's the age on the last two?
- 54:28Speaker 3: So we didn't, we didn't get into that.
- 54:32Speaker 3: Let me see.
- 54:35Speaker 4: On the age on this one is seven years, two months and 29 days and it's a 63.9% 90% alcohol volume, which is 127.8% root.
- 54:51Speaker 3: So all of them are 71, seven years one month, two days.
- 54:57Speaker 3: Seven years one month, eight days.
- 54:59Speaker 3: Seven years one month, 10 days.
- 55:01Speaker 3: And seven years two months, 29 days.
- 55:05Speaker 3: Oh, four is the oldest, all right, so now it's time to reset Rebound and put them up against each other.
- 55:24Speaker 3: This is a personal experience that I find that I like to do.
- 55:31Speaker 1: I'll start off.
- 55:32Speaker 3: I'm going to start off.
- 55:36Speaker 4: It's funny, but going back in order or are you just like just going to do it?
- 55:41Speaker 3: No, no, no, no, no.
- 55:42Speaker 3: We're not going to talk, we're just going to take this time and we're just going to do a little bit of sipping and tasting.
- 55:47Speaker 3: Wow, oh Wow.
- 56:13Speaker 3: Oh, wow.
- 56:13Speaker 3: So what I did is a little sip of each one in order, and I'll tell you that that lime, if you like lime with tequila two, would be your favorite batch.
- 56:31Speaker 3: I mean, it's like what I almost feel like they put that in a finished tequila barrel and drop some a little bit of lime.
- 56:40Speaker 3: So it's for me, it's obvious what my top is.
- 56:46Speaker 3: But my top two are obvious.
- 56:58Speaker 3: I like my top two, my three and my four.
- 57:04Speaker 3: Now, there's not one batch here that isn't worth buying.
- 57:07Speaker 3: Everyone's unique in itself and we'll get you Well, it will mess you up there.
- 57:16Speaker 3: Let's go by the proofs.
- 57:19Speaker 3: We went the years and the last one is the oldest, I don't know.
- 57:27Speaker 3: Okay, so proofs, we're looking at the whole year with the proofs.
- 57:33Speaker 3: So the first one was 126.6.
- 57:41Speaker 3: The second one was 125.5.
- 57:43Speaker 3: That was the lime batch.
- 57:45Speaker 3: The green batch was 126.6.
- 57:49Speaker 3: Same as the first batch, and the last batch was 127.8.
- 57:54Speaker 3: So the oldest, strongest, was the yellow batch, which was the 2304 storyteller.
- 58:07Speaker 3: So green is number one, yellow two Now.
- 58:17Speaker 3: So Nash, the first two.
- 58:21Speaker 3: We tasted.
- 58:24Speaker 3: I like them, but they're pretty equal.
- 58:28Speaker 3: But it comes down to do I like the uniqueness of the lime or do I like the toasted nut aspect of.
- 58:50Speaker 3: So the question is whether on the blue and the red.
- 58:56Speaker 3: In my ranking between the two it's so close on the toasted nut, so the red stays on profile and the blue goes off profile.
- 59:14Speaker 3: Although you get the toasted nut with that apple, does that really stay on profile, because apple's usually not a part, and then the lime's get all right.
- 59:29Speaker 3: So one, two, three, four, do you have them ranked?
- 59:36Speaker 3: Do you have yours ranked?
- 59:40Speaker 4: I'm almost there.
- 59:42Speaker 3: I'm almost there too.
- 59:42Speaker 3: That's just fucking phenomenal.
- 59:47Speaker 3: I need some little unflavored wafers to clear my palate.
- 59:59Speaker 3: You're clearing your palate with water.
- 1:00:03Speaker 4: I'm rinsing down with water.
- 1:00:06Speaker 3: Yeah, I forgot water tonight.
- 1:00:11Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:00:15Speaker 3: I got mine.
- 1:00:16Speaker 3: All right, rudolph the Red Nose Ranger's playing up there.
- 1:00:28Speaker 3: We got the Christmas clock going.
- 1:00:29Speaker 3: We got the Christmas tree.
- 1:00:31Speaker 3: You're gonna have to watch when I open.
- 1:00:34Speaker 3: You're gonna go back on that live that I did tonight.
- 1:00:41Speaker 4: This is hard.
- 1:00:42Speaker 4: I'm wearing my palate out.
- 1:00:46Speaker 3: It wasn't that hard for me, but yes.
- 1:00:55Speaker 4: All right.
- 1:00:58Speaker 3: Mines in.
- 1:00:59Speaker 3: I mean, it's like all I could say to everybody that these proofs are real, because I would have to say from where I started and I have not even come close to finishing this whiskey.
- 1:01:16Speaker 3: I'm feeling it pretty good.
- 1:01:22Speaker 3: What about you, nash?
- 1:01:25Speaker 4: You can yeah.
- 1:01:31Speaker 3: Look at me yeah, because that's all we can.
- 1:01:35Speaker 3: You can't, so I'll give them all one, one last go See, if anything, what happens.
- 1:01:41Speaker 3: Because I always like to just, instead of just sip and taste, I like to drink and taste, because sometimes that changes it On on the gulping taste.
- 1:01:59Speaker 3: On the red, jesus pulls way more pepper.
- 1:02:12Speaker 4: Cinnamon pepper and cinnamon On that red dot.
- 1:02:16Speaker 4: It's tough, I'm just tough for me because I like them all.
- 1:02:24Speaker 3: But Wasn't that tough for me as far as the top two.
- 1:02:34Speaker 4: All right, you got them ranked and I actually I went as far as to I read as to what I think each one of them is to you can think what each one.
- 1:02:47Speaker 3: I have no idea, except I think my reveal month.
- 1:02:55Speaker 4: I'm going to go ahead and reveal my right now.
- 1:02:59Speaker 3: Look yellow one.
- 1:03:00Speaker 3: Green dot to red, you got green to.
- 1:03:10Speaker 4: I got blue dot as the four.
- 1:03:13Speaker 3: We're going to be here a little bit longer, red.
- 1:03:19Speaker 4: The yellow dot is the mighty fine batch.
- 1:03:20Speaker 4: I think the red dot is Charlie's batch.
- 1:03:24Speaker 4: And I think the blue dot is the storyteller's batch, which I've never even tasted until tonight, but I've tasted it.
- 1:03:34Speaker 4: Quite a bit of the other three.
- 1:03:37Speaker 3: And I don't agree.
- 1:03:38Speaker 3: So drop your blue dot down.
- 1:03:40Speaker 3: The blue was for Okay, so we agree On the last two, three and four, but we are.
- 1:03:51Speaker 3: But yellow and green were where flipped.
- 1:03:55Speaker 3: I picked green number one and you pick green number and you picked yellow.
- 1:04:09Speaker 4: Yellow and green.
- 1:04:13Speaker 3: Now all I can tell you is is your wife up what?
- 1:04:20Speaker 3: So reveal what yellow, green, red and blue are.
- 1:04:23Speaker 3: No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
- 1:04:26Speaker 3: Yes, we're going to do the reveal and then we'll know the batches, and then we're going to have our wives report.
- 1:04:36Speaker 4: Let me see if she's still up and find out where the paper is.
- 1:04:43Speaker 3: I don't wear the paper, as you said.
- 1:04:45Speaker 3: You had the paper.
- 1:04:46Speaker 3: I'm calling Roxy.
- 1:04:49Speaker 3: Put her on speaker.
- 1:04:50Speaker 3: Oh, good, you're up.
- 1:04:55Speaker 3: I don't have the paper, I'll just text you, okay.
- 1:05:01Speaker 3: But at the same time I'm going to need you to report To two pores for us, because we have them flipped around and I want you to just do two of the bottles blind.
- 1:05:19Speaker 5: You will tell me which bottles.
- 1:05:21Speaker 3: Yeah, but I need to text me the paper first and then I'll.
- 1:05:25Speaker 3: Then I'll call you and you want to know what it is.
- 1:05:28Speaker 3: You want to know what the bottles are based off of this first thing, but then we're going to blind the two together.
- 1:05:36Speaker 5: All right, I'll text it to you and I'll be down in a minute.
- 1:05:38Speaker 5: All right, thanks.
- 1:05:48Speaker 3: He's getting the paper, but my wife is texting me, Roxy's texting us.
- 1:05:52Speaker 3: It's like I'm using technology and he's using some sort of old fashioned not know what the fuck's going on.
- 1:06:00Speaker 3: And what the hell did you text?
- 1:06:03Speaker 3: What is that?
- 1:06:04Speaker 3: Oh the honey.
- 1:06:08Speaker 3: Oh, I definitely didn't drop that.
- 1:06:12Speaker 3: I'm waiting A super Nash.
- 1:06:40Speaker 4: I'm not knowing which one was put.
- 1:06:43Speaker 4: Is this we all have a text with no fish, but now.
- 1:06:49Speaker 4: And we both what we thought, the visual, the four words.
- 1:07:01Speaker 3: Rachel's up to.
- 1:07:02Speaker 3: She's supposedly texting me what the but?
- 1:07:07Speaker 3: Does a share?
- 1:07:08Speaker 4: sharey have the reveal and then the reveal and she's coming in here now.
- 1:07:14Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:07:16Speaker 4: Now I picked the yellow dot is my number one and I picked.
- 1:07:20Speaker 4: Green dot is my number.
- 1:07:23Speaker 3: My number two.
- 1:07:29Speaker 4: And we, we flip that.
- 1:07:29Speaker 4: All right, tell her what you, you picked yours, I we just.
- 1:07:37Speaker 4: Number one is the green dot.
- 1:07:42Speaker 3: Yep, and I picked my number yellow, dot two, and then red and blue.
- 1:07:48Speaker 3: And then we had the red and blue.
- 1:07:51Speaker 4: Right and the green dot.
- 1:07:54Speaker 4: And then the red dot.
- 1:07:58Speaker 4: Yeah, come on in Serious here.
- 1:08:05Speaker 3: Yes, no.
- 1:08:09Speaker 5: No.
- 1:08:10Speaker 4: That's what.
- 1:08:11Speaker 4: That's what we numbered.
- 1:08:12Speaker 4: So what's what's?
- 1:08:14Speaker 4: What's green?
- 1:08:14Speaker 4: What's green?
- 1:08:14Speaker 4: Rachel, I would, yeah, and the green dot apprentice bad.
- 1:08:22Speaker 3: Just so you know, the green dot Is.
- 1:08:29Speaker 4: Close to the candle Look.
- 1:08:33Speaker 3: Is storyteller the yellow dot.
- 1:08:36Speaker 3: The yellow dot is Mighty fine batch.
- 1:08:41Speaker 4: Look at this.
- 1:08:43Speaker 3: So we have to.
- 1:08:44Speaker 3: And then three, three, red, red.
- 1:08:49Speaker 3: Red is the bookers.
- 1:08:51Speaker 3: Oh, one which would have been Charlie.
- 1:08:56Speaker 4: Yellow dot has been.
- 1:08:59Speaker 3: An apprentice was blue dot.
- 1:09:03Speaker 4: Apprentice was I got yellow dot Because.
- 1:09:06Speaker 4: I put mighty fine batch in this, actually storytellers.
- 1:09:09Speaker 4: You got them all wrong.
- 1:09:11Speaker 4: I got the red dot.
- 1:09:14Speaker 4: Being right is Charlie's batch.
- 1:09:16Speaker 3: Okay, and I said the two Not got the Nope.
- 1:09:26Speaker 4: I missed the first batch.
- 1:09:27Speaker 3: You missed them all except for the one, but we are going to.
- 1:09:31Speaker 3: Hey, sherry, sherry, I need you to do a red and blue, another red and blue dot Of storyteller and mighty fine batch, and Rachel's going to do the same thing.
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: You can ask me to play a radio station or ask for your music in a different app.
- 1:09:52Speaker 4: Wait a minute.
- 1:09:52Speaker 4: Oh, a purpose batch, and mighty fine batch.
- 1:09:59Speaker 3: No, storyteller was green and mighty fine was yellow.
- 1:10:03Speaker 3: We're in you.
- 1:10:04Speaker 3: You put a knots, what my one and two was and green.
- 1:10:08Speaker 3: So we need mighty fine batch and we need a storyteller to go against each other.
- 1:10:15Speaker 3: And I got two, glen Karen's and one really smells like caramel.
- 1:10:18Speaker 3: Oh, it's the storyteller.
- 1:10:21Speaker 3: That's my favorite, it's my favorite too.
- 1:10:25Speaker 3: I tried them upstairs when I poured them.
- 1:10:27Speaker 5: And whichever one smelled there's like caramel is what.
- 1:10:31Speaker 5: I made myself a little poor and took that in the bedroom.
- 1:10:35Speaker 3: So take the storyteller and the mighty fine batch from this and just blind me and do which batches are those?
- 1:10:45Speaker 3: Which batches the batches are of?
- 1:10:50Speaker 3: Storyteller is four and mighty fine is three.
- 1:10:56Speaker 5: Yeah, so the yellow label was the one that smells like caramel.
- 1:11:00Speaker 3: Storyteller was one.
- 1:11:03Speaker 4: So is a share.
- 1:11:04Speaker 4: You're going to take them in another room and Rachel Techster.
- 1:11:08Speaker 3: Yeah, yes, techster, what you do, the colors of red and blue Give me glasses with colors.
- 1:11:14Speaker 3: What do you?
- 1:11:15Speaker 3: I?
- 1:11:15Speaker 3: These are full still.
- 1:11:17Speaker 3: I didn't drink them all, I would be dead.
- 1:11:20Speaker 5: You have no more.
- 1:11:21Speaker 5: I'm just gonna do right and left.
- 1:11:24Speaker 3: Right and left.
- 1:11:25Speaker 3: She's going to do right and left.
- 1:11:28Speaker 3: There'll be nothing on the bottom, it's just right and left.
- 1:11:32Speaker 3: You're right.
- 1:11:36Speaker 5: I'm right.
- 1:11:50Speaker 3: Folks, thanks for hanging out.
- 1:11:53Speaker 3: We got overtime.
- 1:11:54Speaker 3: We got to come up with a.
- 1:11:57Speaker 3: Now, if we both pick.
- 1:11:59Speaker 3: You'll just have to like take it as it's a tie, my first kid, just put them right there with the other ones, the right there you go.
- 1:12:17Speaker 3: Yep, I'm gonna go back to my right.
- 1:12:29Speaker 3: I'm gonna go back to my left.
- 1:12:33Speaker 5: Okay, I'll go back to.
- 1:12:36Speaker 3: Let's get back to Facebook.
- 1:12:37Speaker 3: Here's my right, my left, your so put it right goes here, left goes here.
- 1:12:46Speaker 3: So it's all, it's all right, and our left, your right and your left, has to become your right and your left.
- 1:12:56Speaker 3: Okay, nash, what we're just doing right and left.
- 1:13:01Speaker 3: So when Sherry says what her right and her left is, she has to make it your right and your left.
- 1:13:10Speaker 5: Sets in front of Martin's right has to be the right.
- 1:13:14Speaker 5: Sets it in front of his right.
- 1:13:17Speaker 3: You understand that right.
- 1:13:18Speaker 3: I was going to just set back down when she told her to pour, or two pours, right and left, so right, whatever's in her right hand.
- 1:13:30Speaker 3: She turns so that it's in your right hand and your left hand.
- 1:13:35Speaker 3: That's what I have right here, right hand left hand.
- 1:13:41Speaker 4: How does Sherry know what?
- 1:13:43Speaker 3: her right hand, left hands are.
- 1:13:44Speaker 3: I just sent it to her.
- 1:13:46Speaker 3: She sent what?
- 1:13:48Speaker 3: Right there he goes you get it.
- 1:13:57Speaker 4: He didn't get it.
- 1:13:58Speaker 4: She's already poured it.
- 1:14:00Speaker 4: She hasn't even got her phone.
- 1:14:04Speaker 5: She has to report when she hands him to Martin.
- 1:14:06Speaker 5: Just put the batch X to the right and batch Y to the left, Exactly as I wrote it here.
- 1:14:15Speaker 3: Batch X to the right, batch Y to the left.
- 1:14:18Speaker 3: Tell her to get her phone.
- 1:14:22Speaker 4: She's great, she's great.
- 1:14:26Speaker 5: But I mean, it really doesn't matter as long as Sherry knows which is which.
- 1:14:30Speaker 3: I already know which is which I smelled them.
- 1:14:33Speaker 3: I hear it in me.
- 1:14:36Speaker 3: I hear it in me, right is it's just like seriously, what you picked as number one, nash, I respect because it tastes, it is bourbon and it basically is cast strength cave Hill.
- 1:15:07Speaker 5: Right.
- 1:15:08Speaker 3: There you go.
- 1:15:08Speaker 3: So let's just know.
- 1:15:14Speaker 4: You don't want none.
- 1:15:15Speaker 4: I'm going to have bourbon to kill it, don't you forget none.
- 1:15:28Speaker 3: Look at that, Sherry.
- 1:15:29Speaker 3: I just got you a kiss when he wouldn't kiss you.
- 1:15:34Speaker 3: That's because we did.
- 1:15:36Speaker 3: That's.
- 1:15:36Speaker 3: That's why bourbon is awesome.
- 1:15:38Speaker 4: Want to use that later on.
- 1:15:41Speaker 3: All I can say is it's not bourbon isn't what we love, it's the friendship.
- 1:15:46Speaker 3: That's what it is Right.
- 1:15:51Speaker 3: That's why we like doing it, because it brings us with everybody, everybody we've met, including you.
- 1:15:59Speaker 3: They are cool because of the fact that they understand what bourbon means.
- 1:16:07Speaker 3: So and now I'm getting fucking drunk, but at this point, but thank you.
- 1:16:15Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, we're doing bookers.
- 1:16:20Speaker 4: Look, look what you pulled word.
- 1:16:22Speaker 4: And I've just said that just tasted, hadn't consumed, so Bring a bottle, bring a bottle.
- 1:16:35Speaker 5: Oh, that was.
- 1:16:39Speaker 4: And I only did.
- 1:16:40Speaker 4: That was the free for and.
- 1:16:42Speaker 4: I only drink half of it.
- 1:16:45Speaker 1: That's all this.
- 1:16:47Speaker 4: All this.
- 1:16:50Speaker 3: I really can hear the crinkling.
- 1:16:52Speaker 3: It's insane.
- 1:16:55Speaker 3: There's crinkling going on.
- 1:16:58Speaker 3: I like left, left number one, right number two.
- 1:17:04Speaker 3: Hello, I'm sure.
- 1:17:11Speaker 5: She said good night, she's got a lot of good things going on.

- 1:19:38Speaker 3: You want to know?
- 1:19:40Speaker 5: which is which.
- 1:19:42Speaker 4: You're not going to die.
- 1:19:43Speaker 4: Human body is amazing machine.
- 1:19:48Speaker 3: Also tastes pretty good.
- 1:19:48Speaker 3: What do you said You're not going to die and push it until you swear that you'll die.
- 1:19:53Speaker 3: Walker, we need to party together, oh my.

- 1:20:09Speaker 4: Do what's not, don't so much, I'm not going to die.
- 1:20:18Speaker 1: I'm not going to die.
- 1:20:19Speaker 1: I'm not going to die, I'm not going to die.
- 1:20:24Speaker 4: I'm not going to die.
- 1:20:25Speaker 4: What Don't?
- 1:20:28Speaker 4: So much You're on blue.
- 1:20:35Speaker 5: What's she supposed to know left and right?
- 1:20:37Speaker 5: It doesn't matter, as long as he knows which is which is which.
- 1:20:42Speaker 3: Honestly knows which is what, she knows what, what?
- 1:20:47Speaker 3: The blue and the yellow, three I'm going with left.
- 1:20:50Speaker 5: What's left here?
- 1:20:53Speaker 3: Are you fucking kidding me?
- 1:20:57Speaker 1: Oh my god.
- 1:21:01Speaker 5: Right.
- 1:21:06Speaker 3: So green was.
- 1:21:09Speaker 4: I'm saying left is a mighty fine batch.
- 1:21:15Speaker 3: So that's what I picked.
- 1:21:16Speaker 3: Mighty fine batch.
- 1:21:23Speaker 4: I'm saying right is the apprentice batch?
- 1:21:28Speaker 3: No, we're not choosing between that.
- 1:21:30Speaker 3: We're choosing between mighty fine batch and story teller.
- 1:21:38Speaker 1: That's what I meant yeah, storytellers the one that smells like caramel.
- 1:21:43Speaker 3: What.
- 1:21:44Speaker 5: Storytellers.
- 1:21:45Speaker 5: The one that smells like caramel?
- 1:21:48Speaker 4: Oops, I'm going with left.
- 1:21:53Speaker 5: Yeah Well, jeff agreed with you in a blind, so you picked left.
- 1:22:06Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, what so?
- 1:22:08Speaker 3: So I love cave hill.
- 1:22:14Speaker 5: That's why you picked it and it smells like, but.
- 1:22:17Speaker 3: I love the caramel aspect.
- 1:22:19Speaker 3: The two are so close.
- 1:22:21Speaker 5: The nose of give them both to me.
- 1:22:24Speaker 5: Don't tell me which is which.
- 1:22:30Speaker 3: There's that one.
- 1:22:31Speaker 5: That's my right.
- 1:22:34Speaker 3: There's that one.
- 1:22:34Speaker 3: I mean cave hill frickin' taste.
- 1:22:44Speaker 5: This is Storyteller, this is Taste it.
- 1:22:48Speaker 5: Why do I have to taste it?
- 1:22:50Speaker 5: Taste them Caramel, not caramel.
- 1:22:55Speaker 5: Mmm-mmm, it's the other one.
- 1:22:58Speaker 5: No, that tastes different.
- 1:23:02Speaker 3: Taste the other one, that doesn't taste like what I was drinking upstairs, yeah.
- 1:23:09Speaker 5: Taste the other one.
- 1:23:10Speaker 5: Give it a second, I've got them all through, yeah it's insane, tasting blind takes away everything.
- 1:23:17Speaker 4: Yeah, it takes all your inhibitions away and you don't have nothing but your neck.
- 1:23:26Speaker 4: This is what it takes.
- 1:23:27Speaker 4: You're like cave Tasting your palate to rely on, and that's what I love doing this.
- 1:23:36Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:23:37Speaker 4: This is so cool and.
- 1:23:40Speaker 3: But, but, both batches Storyteller and they're similar.
- 1:23:45Speaker 3: Oh, no, they actually are not.
- 1:23:48Speaker 3: One tastes like Kentucky bourbon and one tastes like fucking dessert caramel.
- 1:23:54Speaker 3: And what do you like better?
- 1:23:57Speaker 3: Do you want a?
- 1:23:59Speaker 3: I do tell a different when you're drinking whiskey.
- 1:24:01Speaker 3: Do you want dessert or do you want whiskey?
- 1:24:04Speaker 4: And and initially I wanted dessert Want something to warm you up or do you want to have dessert or do you want something to warm you up?
- 1:24:13Speaker 4: But you know.
- 1:24:14Speaker 3: And you've got to give it to Fred and Freddie for picking some spectacular motherfucking bourbon.
- 1:24:21Speaker 3: This just kind of smells more curvy.
- 1:24:23Speaker 5: The right is.
- 1:24:25Speaker 3: The right Storyteller.
- 1:24:26Speaker 3: What you tasted upstairs the left is Wait, this is your left or my.
- 1:24:33Speaker 3: No, that one right there which is your, your right is the Caffe Hill one.
- 1:24:39Speaker 5: Yes, I said it.
- 1:24:40Speaker 5: That's why I was right, right.
- 1:24:42Speaker 3: The left is the caramel one that you tasted upstairs.
- 1:24:45Speaker 3: But but what do you like?
- 1:24:49Speaker 3: I mean, they're a horse of pee.
- 1:24:53Speaker 3: I have not tasted the Storytellers until the time.
- 1:24:57Speaker 5: I mean, they're both good.
- 1:24:58Speaker 5: But I, I, I technically you like a little more baking spice, you like.
- 1:25:05Speaker 5: You like the Um Patch 3.
- 1:25:08Speaker 5: If you like a little more, like baking spices.
- 1:25:11Speaker 3: What did?
- 1:25:12Speaker 5: you like, like Martin said, warm baking spices.
- 1:25:15Speaker 3: Yeah, except.
- 1:25:16Speaker 5: And Storyteller is sweeter.
- 1:25:20Speaker 3: But I blinded them and they switched up.
- 1:25:23Speaker 5: Yeah, because, because.
- 1:25:25Speaker 5: This is more your jam, it's just like.
- 1:25:30Speaker 3: So we're gonna have to, so, so Nash 3 is more your jam.
- 1:25:37Speaker 5: So, but initially 4 was my but when I sniffed them all, I poured myself a little pour of Patch 4, because that one smelled the sweetest.
- 1:25:47Speaker 5: I mean, I'm gonna just tell you.
- 1:25:49Speaker 3: Patch 4 has a level of a nose.
- 1:25:51Speaker 3: Actually was it 2 that had no 4 had that rich toffee nose, but 4 has a kick.
- 1:26:01Speaker 3: None of them none of them had enough.
- 1:26:06Speaker 3: So Fred really knows what he's doing, as he keeps evolving.
- 1:26:13Speaker 5: Okay, so 4 finishes dry and oaky.
- 1:26:17Speaker 5: It does, it doesn't finish.
- 1:26:24Speaker 3: Gimme 4.
- 1:26:24Speaker 5: Yeah, sweet, oh, really you want All the germs are dead.
- 1:26:29Speaker 3: What do I?
- 1:26:30Speaker 3: It's fucking a hug.
- 1:26:31Speaker 5: Or do I just drink 4 in there?
- 1:26:33Speaker 3: I have no idea.
- 1:26:34Speaker 3: No, don't, even.
- 1:26:36Speaker 3: I don't have a problem, it's 120.
- 1:26:40Speaker 3: Wait, oh wait.
- 1:26:44Speaker 4: You got 4 glasses, that's 4.
- 1:26:46Speaker 4: That's what I said you have.
- 1:26:48Speaker 4: I'm gonna do 4.
- 1:26:49Speaker 4: Yeah, 1 glass of 4 right in front of you.
- 1:26:51Speaker 5: 4 is green, so look at the green cup.
- 1:26:54Speaker 3: Blue.
- 1:26:57Speaker 5: And 3 is yellow.
- 1:26:58Speaker 3: Red, I pulled off.
- 1:26:59Speaker 3: Green Green is 4.
- 1:27:04Speaker 5: Green is Patch 4, yes, Okay, green is 4.
- 1:27:07Speaker 5: So I had the same thought upstairs that, although the nose is super sweet, what's yellow.
- 1:27:13Speaker 5: Don't just wait for the finish on that.
- 1:27:16Speaker 4: See, it smells super sweet.
- 1:27:18Speaker 5: It does.
- 1:27:18Speaker 5: It smells super sweet, but it finishes kind of dry.
- 1:27:24Speaker 3: This is awesome that you're coming on this podcast.
- 1:27:27Speaker 5: From the wings.
- 1:27:29Speaker 3: Roxy.
- 1:27:29Speaker 3: This is this is Roxy.
- 1:27:31Speaker 3: It's like there's no bad cold anymore.
- 1:27:35Speaker 3: Just keep drinking Booker's barrel strength at 126, 127.
- 1:27:41Speaker 4: Don't feel bad, because Sherry's just had one for the last 3 days and still trying to get over hers.
- 1:27:48Speaker 4: That's why I was so happy to convince her to come in here and do what she did.
- 1:27:54Speaker 5: Well, Alice told me, asked me yesterday if I was dying, and I said no, I don't think the cold's gonna kill me.
- 1:28:02Speaker 5: I said why?
- 1:28:04Speaker 5: Why do you think I'm dying?
- 1:28:05Speaker 5: And she goes, because, Grammy, you look terrible.
- 1:28:07Speaker 5: And normally you don't look so bad, you look so good, but you look tired, grammy, and you don't look so good.
- 1:28:15Speaker 5: I'm like, yeah, that's what happens when you're sick and you're old.
- 1:28:18Speaker 5: Oh my gosh, he's done play.
- 1:28:20Speaker 5: Shit.
- 1:28:23Speaker 3: So Todd Johnson has jumped on since we did that.
- 1:28:26Speaker 3: Here's his comment.
- 1:28:28Speaker 3: I'm going to say I haven't watched these much, but I am enjoying the absolute confusion that's going on here, that's your signature, yeah it's like thank you, thank you 100%.
- 1:28:45Speaker 3: Keep watching, because that's the podcast.
- 1:28:48Speaker 3: We are real, we do everything through the hilt as far as reality, right, and we're getting better as far as technicality?
- 1:29:01Speaker 5: We don't, we're honest.
- 1:29:05Speaker 3: We're honest, we love the distilleries, we love the people who run the distilleries, but our palates are our palates and if we don't like something we're going to tell you.
- 1:29:18Speaker 3: And if we like something, we'll tell you.
- 1:29:20Speaker 3: But I mean, there's people who love lobster it's the majority of the population but there's people who don't like lobster.
- 1:29:29Speaker 3: Just because you don't like what everybody else doesn't like doesn't make you somehow a piece of shit.
- 1:29:35Speaker 3: You're not Drink what you like.
- 1:29:41Speaker 5: Even if it's crown.
- 1:29:44Speaker 3: Yes, my wife, my cousin's wife, loves crown.
- 1:29:48Speaker 3: My cousin's wife loves crown.
- 1:29:50Speaker 3: I'm not going to make fun of her, I'm not going to say anything.
- 1:29:54Speaker 3: I might try to open her mind to other things, but if she goes back to crown, crown is something that the general popper population likes and it's good whiskey.
- 1:30:09Speaker 3: It's not bad whiskey.
- 1:30:11Speaker 3: What do you got to say to that Super Nash?
- 1:30:16Speaker 5: Did you notice the difference in the the red, green, yellow buttons?
- 1:30:24Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:30:24Speaker 4: Simon says I'm going to tell you yes, we all love it too.
- 1:30:32Speaker 3: That's crown.
- 1:30:33Speaker 4: Crown is Simon right.
- 1:30:37Speaker 3: I think you were definitely whittled down to the best of the two or the best of the bunch, but all four were good but three is more balanced on all four components.
- 1:30:54Speaker 5: Nose, body, taste, finish.
- 1:30:55Speaker 5: So you're talking about yellow.
- 1:31:00Speaker 3: No, no, I'm talking about the one that you guys both like batch three.
- 1:31:04Speaker 5: No, initially, I like back four Initially.
- 1:31:08Speaker 3: I'm talking about he like bass three.
- 1:31:14Speaker 3: Yes.
- 1:31:16Speaker 5: And in the line you pick batch three.
- 1:31:17Speaker 4: Booker's 2003.
- 1:31:19Speaker 4: Yeah, you pick that three blind.
- 1:31:20Speaker 4: Yes, I said, I know you picked it because it is a more balanced.
- 1:31:28Speaker 5: Flavored.
- 1:31:29Speaker 5: So what was three yellow no.
- 1:31:34Speaker 3: Three is oh, you mean the bottom of the glass?
- 1:31:38Speaker 5: Oh, because the yellow label is no, we're talking about yellow.
- 1:31:44Speaker 3: Yellow was.
- 1:31:48Speaker 5: Three is yellow yes, you, you, so I picked green, as I picked green and you pick yellow Right.
- 1:31:54Speaker 5: But then in the blind you picked, so I'm going to put green and yellow.
- 1:31:59Speaker 5: You pick.
- 1:31:59Speaker 5: The yellow dot is not.
- 1:32:04Speaker 4: Number one right, but then in the blind, you pick, jeff picked the.
- 1:32:09Speaker 5: Then in the blind, we both picked the yellow yeah which is three, three yeah.
- 1:32:19Speaker 3: Fuck, fuck, all I can say is why is that that that number?
- 1:32:32Speaker 3: Okay, so Nash, read what three is on the card, the yellow.
- 1:32:36Speaker 3: I got it right here, yeah.
- 1:32:41Speaker 5: In my car.
- 1:32:41Speaker 5: Here we go, all right.
- 1:32:46Speaker 4: And no no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no no no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no Yellow card was not three, it was four, it was actually.
- 1:33:08Speaker 5: Three yeah, green card.
- 1:33:10Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:33:13Speaker 5: Green green.
- 1:33:14Speaker 3: Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.
- 1:33:16Speaker 3: Yes, you're not confused.
- 1:33:17Speaker 3: Let Martin read it.
- 1:33:19Speaker 3: Green Yellow was number Batch two.
- 1:33:23Speaker 5: Jeff, no, stop, stop, stop, stop talking.
- 1:33:27Speaker 4: And let him read the green card we pick, we pick, we pick the Mighty fine batch.
- 1:33:34Speaker 3: Yes, read, mighty fine batch In a blind test.
- 1:33:38Speaker 3: Yes, yes.
- 1:33:40Speaker 4: Yes.
- 1:33:40Speaker 3: Yes, I'm not, I'm not going to.
- 1:33:42Speaker 3: And then the second one would have been Storyteller.
- 1:33:48Speaker 3: The story teller was carmally, but when I went head to head I picked mighty fine batch.
- 1:33:56Speaker 4: And so do you want me to read the label inspiration.
- 1:33:59Speaker 3: Yes, read the the tasting notes.
- 1:34:04Speaker 3: Yes, or all of it, just the tasting notes, we don't need to the backstory.
- 1:34:11Speaker 4: Yeah, we don't need the backstory.
- 1:34:13Speaker 4: What?
- 1:34:15Speaker 3: Oh, I'm not drinking anymore.
- 1:34:17Speaker 3: I'm fine, I understand.
- 1:34:20Speaker 4: Right Mighty fine batch.
- 1:34:23Speaker 4: And this batch was made up of barrels of seven production dates that were aged from six different warehouses Breakdown.
- 1:34:32Speaker 4: We don't need that right.
- 1:34:37Speaker 3: Nope, we just need the tasting notes after the.
- 1:34:42Speaker 4: We get it from the car here.
- 1:34:44Speaker 4: All right, here we go.
- 1:34:45Speaker 4: Nope, I got it, all right.
- 1:34:50Speaker 4: The color bookers, the batch invites you to take a long look and enjoy their rich, beautiful color.
- 1:34:57Speaker 4: The nose is very pleasant with all the character Characteristic dad look for in his name Safe bourbon vanilla and the brown sugar sweet notes come through very well with the white and white oak barrels.
- 1:35:12Speaker 4: This bourbon age in over seven years.
- 1:35:16Speaker 4: The taste is great and full body.
- 1:35:23Speaker 4: When I added a splash of water, it opened up some great flavors with a finish of gives a lovely Kentucky hug.
- 1:35:34Speaker 4: My dad would say this is a mighty fine batch of bookers.
- 1:35:43Speaker 3: The tasting notes right there yeah because I agree with that and I also agree with the last batch, which was the storytellers batch, being spectacular also on a couple levels, sorry.
- 1:36:03Speaker 4: You want to read those, what you want to read those notes.
- 1:36:06Speaker 5: Sure.
- 1:36:07Speaker 4: The tasting notes on those, because they Like I said it was right up there too, you know.
- 1:36:13Speaker 4: I told you we were sitting there picking them apart, and I had a harder time deciding the only I love the caramel desertiness of, you know, the last batch 2004.
- 1:36:30Speaker 1: I can, I can come up with it.
- 1:36:33Speaker 3: Or you might find in storyteller.
- 1:36:35Speaker 3: Storyteller was initially my, but when I put them head to head, my actual palette of what I love Came through.
- 1:36:48Speaker 3: There's no doubt it was a good it was.
- 1:36:51Speaker 3: I mean, we did this blind and you can't deny when you even when we did.
- 1:37:02Speaker 4: Let me just go ahead and read, read, go ahead.
- 1:37:05Speaker 4: The taste and notes of that, the color of storyteller batch is a super nice, super nice, super nice.
- 1:37:13Speaker 3: hold on.
- 1:37:13Speaker 3: She told me no more.
- 1:37:16Speaker 3: This is yellow there you go.
- 1:37:20Speaker 4: She got a bed.
- 1:37:21Speaker 4: Mm, hmm.
- 1:37:22Speaker 4: Sitting in your glass.
- 1:37:23Speaker 4: The scent of a great bourbon fills the room and invites you to further explore the brown sugar aroma.
- 1:37:30Speaker 4: The taste is delightful with a well balanced and notes of vanilla and wood.
- 1:37:35Speaker 4: I tasted the batch on a drizzly September day there was a slight chill in the air and it reminded me of that fall was just around the corner and this bourbon that has the perfect warm finish that the days of the days Finished for the days to come.
- 1:37:57Speaker 4: A little bit of water Further opened up the tasting experience for me, but you can enjoy it anyway, you please?
- 1:38:04Speaker 4: Storyteller batch is just the way dad would have wanted it when he created the brand over 30 years ago.
- 1:38:15Speaker 1: I can almost hear him telling one of his great stories while he sits on a glass of his own.
- 1:38:21Speaker 4: I hope you enjoy this batch as much as I did, and we did, and we did.
- 1:38:25Speaker 4: Absolutely Fred.
- 1:38:29Speaker 4: Well enough, you get a chance to watch this and.
- 1:38:36Speaker 1: I know.
- 1:38:36Speaker 4: Sandy does.
- 1:38:37Speaker 4: But, fred and Freddie, we appreciate so much what you all do, especially you, fred, making this bookers, and this is what brought this great friendship of brotherhood Now like I said me and Jeff were like brothers now and we're family and just seeing a bottle of this bookers in a picture that in a painting that you and Freddie know we're signing about five years ago.
- 1:39:17Speaker 4: This is what brought us together as brothers and family and friends, and you know, it's all about what you create, bourbon, and what you talk about, and so many of the stories and the talkings that you give to us.
- 1:39:44Speaker 4: And I just want to say thank you and cheers and keep on doing what you do.
- 1:39:51Speaker 4: And thank you so much, Freddie Fred.
- 1:39:58Speaker 3: Definitely 100% and that is a wrap.
- 1:40:03Speaker 3: The bookers 2023, batch three.
- 1:40:09Speaker 3: You say it Super Nash because you were there at first and then we, we did it, so that batch batch three is my define batch, which, Fred your dad 2023,.
