- 0:02SPEAKER_00: Hello everyone.
- 0:04SPEAKER_00: Welcome back to another great episode of Truth Be Told.
- 0:07SPEAKER_00: My name is Mickey.
- 0:08SPEAKER_00: I'm your host today, and joining me is my co-host Bethany.
- 0:11SPEAKER_00: And today we are going to be talking about prayer.
- 0:15SPEAKER_00: And we are going to be sharing the truth.
- 0:17SPEAKER_00: And the truth comes from the Word of God.
- 0:19SPEAKER_00: That's what we like to do on this podcast.
- 0:21SPEAKER_00: We like to dive right into what God has for us.
- 0:24SPEAKER_00: And we have been on the subject of prayer for the last couple of weeks, and it has been really, really good.
- 0:31SPEAKER_00: Last week we started with the power of prayer, and we want to continue with that because prayer is so, so powerful.
- 0:39SPEAKER_00: So I want to share with you real quick what prayer can actually do.
- 0:44SPEAKER_00: And then I'm going to say good morning to Bethany, and we'll get this episode rolling so we can get the word to you.
- 0:51SPEAKER_00: We can share the truth with you, and we can just break some of these scriptures down for you.
- 0:55SPEAKER_00: I think it's important that you know that when we're talking about prayer, just how much power is in prayer.
- 1:02SPEAKER_00: Prayer actually breaks chains, it also brings healing, and it can actually change your circumstances.
- 1:13SPEAKER_00: So if you're struggling today, stay tuned to this episode and let's just see what God has in store and what the power of prayer can really do.
- 1:21SPEAKER_00: So I would just want to say good morning to Bethany.
- 1:24SPEAKER_00: How are you today, Bethany?
- 1:26SPEAKER_01: I'm great.
- 1:27SPEAKER_01: Glad to be here.
- 1:30SPEAKER_00: I'm excited today because, you know, as we've been talking about how powerful prayer is, it's been it makes you more alert to what you're doing with your own prayer life when you start talking about prayer.
- 1:44SPEAKER_00: And I think it's important that we bring that to the table.
- 1:47SPEAKER_00: That as we're teaching on prayer, we need to be constantly in prayer and praying over the things that we need, we desire.
- 1:57SPEAKER_00: Um, if we're if there's struggles that people are going through, I think it's important that they understand their prayers actually hold power.
- 2:06SPEAKER_00: And a lot of people, I don't think a lot of people believe that as much as they should.
- 2:11SPEAKER_00: I I think they doubt it.
- 2:13SPEAKER_00: And I even myself, I've doubted it, you know, and and so sometimes we're reluctant to pray because we don't realize just how much power prayer has.
- 2:23SPEAKER_00: So I'm really excited about this episode, and I can't wait for you to share what you have for us today.
- 2:27SPEAKER_00: Would you like to pray us in?
- 2:30SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 2:31SPEAKER_01: Let's pray.
- 2:33SPEAKER_01: Dear Lord, I thank you so very much once again that we are able to meet here.
- 2:41SPEAKER_01: And Lord, thank you for those who are listening.
- 2:45SPEAKER_01: Thank you for those who are um interested in hearing the topics that we discuss and that we invite you to be a part of, which is every topic.
- 3:07SPEAKER_01: And Lord, as we continue on now with talking about the power of prayer, I pray that you would instill in us what you want us to take away from this time.
- 3:26SPEAKER_01: And thank you for meeting with us.
- 3:30SPEAKER_01: Thank you for speaking through and to Mickey and I and to our listeners.
- 3:38SPEAKER_01: And we give this time to you, Lord, and we thank you for it in Jesus' name.
- 3:44SPEAKER_01: Amen.
- 3:45SPEAKER_00: Thank you for that.
- 3:46SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I'm really excited today because um everything that's been going on in the world, there's just so much darkness.
- 3:53SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 3:54SPEAKER_00: And I know the word says that we are not to be worried about anything, we're not to be anxious, um, but we are to be in prayer.
- 4:02SPEAKER_00: So I'm glad that we're talking about this as a reminder, um, as well as how powerful our prayer is and what God can do in our lives.
- 4:10SPEAKER_00: And I guarantee you that um if you really start focusing in on prayer and you really start praying fervently, that God is going to shift and change things all around you.
- 4:23SPEAKER_00: I believe it, I've seen it for myself, I've witnessed it, and um, I just can't wait to um dive into what you have today.
- 4:30SPEAKER_00: So I'm gonna let you um take the reins and and share what scripture you have with us today.
- 4:36SPEAKER_01: All right, thank you so much for that.
- 4:39SPEAKER_01: Now, um, continuing on from our last episode talking about the power of prayer, I have three passages for us to look at today.
- 4:58SPEAKER_01: And all three of these passages, I believe, um I will make them into their own episodes, and so go on to tune in for that um when those would be available.
- 5:23SPEAKER_01: And so let's look now at these three passages and just see what the Holy Spirit impresses upon us with each of them in regards to the power of prayer.
- 5:42SPEAKER_01: And so the first passage verse we want to notice is first Peter three, verse twelve.
- 5:57SPEAKER_01: First Peter three and verse twelve.
- 6:04SPEAKER_01: It says, for the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers.
- 6:15SPEAKER_01: But the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.
- 6:46SPEAKER_01: To really grab a lot of to understand, just however what God has given us.
- 7:10SPEAKER_02: Looking at the disverse, we see first of the Lord are upon the righteous.
- 7:26SPEAKER_01: That means the Lord sees us, the Lord sees the righteous, the Lord sees what we're going through.
- 7:36SPEAKER_01: And not just us individually, but considering the fact all over the world, he sees all of the righteous people.
- 7:53SPEAKER_01: That means he does see what you are going to.
- 7:59SPEAKER_01: He does know what you are going to take comfort in that.
- 8:07SPEAKER_01: Take confidence.
- 8:12SPEAKER_01: Realize that it's not just he's up in heaven just you know, being casual or however people may describe him as, but he's actually saying what's going on.
- 8:41SPEAKER_01: And to me, that tells me that our prayers to him are that much more important that we should never neglect prayer, but we should be always intentional in coming to him.
- 9:10SPEAKER_01: And so now let's look at another part of that verse.
- 9:18SPEAKER_01: The verse goes on, and his his ears are open unto our prayers.
- 9:30SPEAKER_01: So God's eyes see us, and his ears are open to our prayers.
- 9:46SPEAKER_01: Telling me that he wants us to pray not only for our needs, but for the needs of others.
- 10:01SPEAKER_01: As Mickey said, there's so much going on in the world right now.
- 10:07SPEAKER_01: And are we doing what we can to pray?
- 10:15SPEAKER_01: Are we taking the time to pray?
- 10:20SPEAKER_01: Or are we allowing Satan's influence to into that?
- 10:29SPEAKER_01: Are we allowing him Satan's influence to choose so that we are we choosing Satan's influence that we're too busy to that were too you know too distracted somehow?
- 10:55SPEAKER_01: And yet looking at this verse, talking about God, that his ears are open to our prayers.
- 11:10SPEAKER_01: There's no conditions in that verse, and so that also tells me that God wants to hear us.
- 11:26SPEAKER_01: We don't have to have the right words or you know, just come into him.
- 11:38SPEAKER_01: And to me that's the power of prayer, and I'm not sure that God wants us to come in.
- 11:49SPEAKER_01: Now it may influence otherwise, but we don't have to give in to Satan.
- 12:02SPEAKER_01: It's actually overall healthier when we don't give in to Satan, and I noticed the end of that verse.
- 12:21SPEAKER_01: First Peter three twelve.
- 12:25SPEAKER_01: But the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.
- 12:35SPEAKER_01: And so even as we consider all the evil going on in the world today, we need to understand that how God feels about that.
- 12:54SPEAKER_01: This verse says that his face is against them that do evil.
- 13:04SPEAKER_01: He's not looking at them, he's not listening to them, but he listens to the righteous, he listens to the righteous prayers, and to me that's so encouraging, it's so uplifting and powerful.
- 13:32SPEAKER_01: So, Mickey, do you have any thoughts on that?
- 13:36SPEAKER_00: Actually, I do.
- 13:37SPEAKER_00: This verse me to another verse, which is also in um 1 Peter.
- 13:41SPEAKER_00: It's 1 Peter 5 that says, casting all your cares upon him because he cares for you.
- 13:47SPEAKER_00: I think when we think about, you know, you know, the eye, the the Lord, the Lord sees us and he hears us, but I want our listeners to also understand that not only does he just see us and hear us, he also cares.
- 14:01SPEAKER_00: He cares about us, he wants us to cast our cares on him.
- 14:05SPEAKER_00: So, like you said, it's unconditional.
- 14:07SPEAKER_00: Whatever you're praying for, he cares about your needs, he cares about your desires, he cares about what you're going through.
- 14:13SPEAKER_00: If you are up against um the wall and you're facing um some struggles and you're and you're trying to work out the evil in your life, because we all face that.
- 14:23SPEAKER_00: We all come against adversity, we all come against trials and tribulations, which can easily distract us and pull us away from God.
- 14:33SPEAKER_00: If we just keep in mind that not only is God watching and listening, but he cares so greatly and so deeply for us that he wants to help us, he wants to see us through it.
- 14:44SPEAKER_00: But we have to talk to him about it.
- 14:46SPEAKER_00: We have to we have to repent, we have to let go, we have to ask God, you know, what is it, God, you're showing me?
- 14:52SPEAKER_00: What is it you want me to work on?
- 14:54SPEAKER_00: What is it you want me to do?
- 14:55SPEAKER_00: It's okay to ask God questions, by the way.
- 14:58SPEAKER_00: Some people will think, am I why would I be questioning God?
- 15:01SPEAKER_00: You're not questioning him, but it's okay to ask him questions in what you can be doing in your own walk.
- 15:08SPEAKER_00: Because, again, like I said in the beginning, sometimes we forget the power that prayer actually holds.
- 15:16SPEAKER_00: It it's huge.
- 15:18SPEAKER_00: It literally breaks prison chains, you know, it it literally brings forth healing, it literally can change the circumstance and um in in a vital way for you if if you just have some faith and you trust and you understand that God really does care for you.
- 15:34SPEAKER_00: And I like that because, you know, again, we're in 1 Peter, so uh 1 Peter 5 just kind of goes side by side with this because um sometimes we think, yeah, the Lord sees us, yeah, the Lord hears us, but but does he really care?
- 15:47SPEAKER_00: Well, he does.
- 15:48SPEAKER_00: The word even says he does, it says he cares a lot.
- 15:52SPEAKER_00: Um, he wants us to cast all of our cares, not just, oh, I'm only gonna trust God with a little bit and I'm gonna hang on to the rest of it.
- 16:00SPEAKER_00: You know that big dump truck of cares that you're carrying around.
- 16:04SPEAKER_00: Well, he wants all of our cares, and he wants us to give it to him, all of it.
- 16:10SPEAKER_00: And he is gonna be seeing and he is gonna be listening, and and he is wanting to help you get to a place where um you are free from evil, so you can walk in his righteousness.
- 16:24SPEAKER_00: That's what I also like about this verse, is because when he's talking about righteousness, he wants us to be in righteousness, but how do we do that?
- 16:31SPEAKER_00: We do that by overcoming the evil um that we're faced against, and we do it by going to the Lord and knowing that he sees us, hears us, and also cares about us.
- 16:41SPEAKER_00: So this is a great verse to start with because we really want to open up that picture for everyone to understand exactly where God is with us.
- 16:52SPEAKER_00: He's not just hanging out somewhere going, oh well, yeah, I think I kind of heard them.
- 16:56SPEAKER_00: Oh, I'm pretty sure I saw them the other day.
- 16:58SPEAKER_00: Now we do that, you know, we act like that, you know.
- 17:01SPEAKER_00: Um sometimes when people talk to us, sometimes we're not really intuitive and listening to what they're really saying.
- 17:07SPEAKER_00: We just kind of get bits and pieces and fragments.
- 17:10SPEAKER_00: God's not that way.
- 17:11SPEAKER_00: He he takes every bit of what we say because he does care.
- 17:15SPEAKER_00: And he wants us to put it all on him.
- 17:18SPEAKER_00: We don't have to sugarcoat it, we don't even have to try to deny it.
- 17:21SPEAKER_00: He already knows anyway.
- 17:23SPEAKER_00: He just wants us to release it to him so he has something to work with.
- 17:26SPEAKER_00: If we give it to him, then he can work with it.
- 17:29SPEAKER_00: If we hold on to it, he can't work with that.
- 17:32SPEAKER_00: And the reason for that is it's just like when you're making a cake.
- 17:37SPEAKER_00: If if you need flour and sugar, and I'm holding the sugar and you need it to make the cake, you cannot make a cake.
- 17:43SPEAKER_00: You know what I'm saying?
- 17:44SPEAKER_00: You can't continue on with the process if someone's not giving you the ingredients.
- 17:51SPEAKER_00: God wants olive that you have so that he can work with what you give him in order to help you get through whatever it is you're going through.
- 18:01SPEAKER_00: And it could be it could be anything.
- 18:03SPEAKER_00: It it may not even be anything, it might just be, you know, um, you might even be just praising God, praising God for all his glory and his goodness and his graciousness, because I'm telling you, but the way the world is today, we should be praising God more and more and more that Jesus is coming pretty soon, you know, and I'm hoping that everyone's ready.
- 18:21SPEAKER_00: So um, yeah, great start to this conversation.
- 18:24SPEAKER_00: And um, I just wanted to add that other verse with it, the first Peter 5, 7, because I kind of I really do feel like they go hand in hand.
- 18:32SPEAKER_01: Yes, it's wonderful, very powerful.
- 18:37SPEAKER_01: And that is another verse that I think will take an episode for that verse and just um dive into the power of that verse as well.
- 18:55SPEAKER_01: And so wonderful insights there.
- 19:00SPEAKER_01: Now let's notice another verse, Second Timothy two, verse nineteen, which says, Nevertheless, the foundation of God standeth sure, having the seal that the Lord knoweth them that are his, and that everyone that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.
- 19:53SPEAKER_01: There's another verse that we can stand on, have confidence in that the Lord knows it's not it's not that he's just saying things to say things.
- 20:16SPEAKER_01: He knows, he understands I go back to when God created Lucifer.
- 20:40SPEAKER_01: God would have been perfectly fine if Lucifer would not have rebelled against God.
- 20:55SPEAKER_01: God would have been perfectly fine, but Lucifer chose to rebel, and that is the cause for all the evil, all of the negativity, all of the hurt and heartache in the world today.
- 21:26SPEAKER_01: I not sure why God is impressing upon me to talk about this right now, but I feel that he is for our understanding.
- 21:49SPEAKER_01: Because we have talked about it even on this episode, how there's so much going on in the world today.
- 22:02SPEAKER_01: We need to understand why.
- 22:07SPEAKER_01: We need to understand the cause.
- 22:10SPEAKER_01: And so I just mentioned the cause.
- 22:18SPEAKER_01: And now as we look back at this verse in 2nd Timothy 3.12, and we understand that the Lord knows us.
- 22:32SPEAKER_01: The Lord knows those that are his.
- 22:59SPEAKER_01: Any deed that goes against God's righteousness.
- 23:07SPEAKER_01: And I I wonder how much we actually recognize and understand even this verse.
- 23:21SPEAKER_01: Because Mickey, I don't know about you, but I don't care much about this verse.
- 23:30SPEAKER_01: And you know, just in reading it right now, it seems like there's so much in this verse that we need to understand.
- 23:43SPEAKER_01: And what are your thoughts on this?
- 23:50SPEAKER_00: Actually, there's a lot to this verse.
- 23:52SPEAKER_00: Like you said, it's not talked about probably near us enough, near enough, but I like what you're you're saying and where you're going.
- 23:58SPEAKER_00: A part that I want to add to it, where it's talking about nevertheless, the foundation of God standeth sure.
- 24:03SPEAKER_00: That means his foundation is solid.
- 24:05SPEAKER_00: It's not going to shake, it's not going to break, it's not going to, it's not going to go away, it's always going to be there.
- 24:09SPEAKER_00: It reminds me of the story.
- 24:11SPEAKER_00: Um, it's in Matthew, I'm not sure exactly where it might be, a seven or eleven, but I know in Luke 6, um, it goes into reference with that about the man that builds his house on the sand versus the man that builds his house on the rock.
- 24:25SPEAKER_00: Now, the one thing about that you're talking about with Lucifer, if Lucifer had not rebelled, um, God would have been just perfectly fine with that.
- 24:34SPEAKER_00: I think everyone would have been.
- 24:36SPEAKER_00: But God gave us free will.
- 24:38SPEAKER_00: Just like the man who builds his house on the sand, or the man that builds his house on the rock, we have a free will to make a decision and choose where we want to build our life, where we want to make these decisions.
- 24:50SPEAKER_00: And sometimes I think we forget that we need to find out what the foundation should be before doing it.
- 24:56SPEAKER_00: So the foolish guy who's like, oh, I love the beach and it's so beautiful, and gosh, I love the ocean.
- 25:02SPEAKER_00: I don't know about you, but I absolutely love the ocean.
- 25:04SPEAKER_00: Um, I actually had a house that I was gonna buy on a cliff, though, not on a beach, so um uh in California.
- 25:13SPEAKER_00: But anyhow, um, I thought, man, even on a cliff, it's still a little bit close to the ocean, you know, because that cliff still could give way and I'd be back in the sand.
- 25:22SPEAKER_00: So you have to think about your foundation.
- 25:24SPEAKER_00: And it says that your foundation should be with God.
- 25:27SPEAKER_00: And if you start there, you're gonna build a solid foundation.
- 25:31SPEAKER_00: If you don't start there, you're gonna be like the guy in the sand.
- 25:34SPEAKER_00: Your house is gonna get taken out from underneath you.
- 25:37SPEAKER_00: And that's what Lucifer did.
- 25:38SPEAKER_00: Lucifer started with God, but then he started getting greedy and he became selfish and he became arrogant, and he decided, I want to be God too.
- 25:48SPEAKER_00: I want so he wanted to take God's foundation, but God's foundation cannot be taken, it cannot be shifted, it cannot be borrowed, it cannot be anything.
- 25:57SPEAKER_00: Um, so it it it solely belongs to to God.
- 26:01SPEAKER_00: So it's it's interesting that this verse is there's so much to it.
- 26:06SPEAKER_00: And also when it's talking about having the seal, there's a lot of seals mentioned in the Bible.
- 26:10SPEAKER_00: I've been studying the seven seals lately.
- 26:13SPEAKER_00: I've been studying the seal like um when um Daniel and the lion's den, they put the the cover over it and it was sealed.
- 26:20SPEAKER_00: Okay, there's a lot of seals in the in the Bible.
- 26:25SPEAKER_00: Now, the seal that we want is we want the seal of the we want God's seal on us.
- 26:29SPEAKER_00: We don't want any other seal.
- 26:31SPEAKER_00: We want to make sure, again, that we are on that foundation and it's of God.
- 26:36SPEAKER_00: There's nothing else altering or shifting what we're doing.
- 26:40SPEAKER_00: And it says, the Lord knoweth them that are his.
- 26:43SPEAKER_00: When we do this, he knows we're his because we have put our trust and faith in him.
- 26:48SPEAKER_00: So that's why we need to name, you know, we need to let it says, let everyone that nameth the name of Christ depart from inequity.
- 26:55SPEAKER_00: Well, he knows, he knows like what we're doing, he knows if we're, you know, shifting.
- 27:02SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 27:02SPEAKER_00: So when you buy a house, I don't know if you've ever purchased a house or not.
- 27:06SPEAKER_00: Um, my first house that I bought when I'm back when I was married, um, I was really stupid back then.
- 27:13SPEAKER_00: I'm not even gonna I'm not gonna sugarcoat this.
- 27:16SPEAKER_00: I wasn't smart.
- 27:17SPEAKER_00: I didn't realize that when you take a you you can pull the um equity out of it and and use that to make your house better because they try to get you to do this, right?
- 27:27SPEAKER_00: Well, taking equity is like an equity towards the house.
- 27:31SPEAKER_00: You're putting yourself further in debt.
- 27:34SPEAKER_00: You know what I mean?
- 27:35SPEAKER_00: And it's amazing how they can talk you into doing it.
- 27:37SPEAKER_00: Now, when we bought this house with the with my daughter, we decided we're never gonna do that because that is a stupid decision to make.
- 27:44SPEAKER_00: If we can't afford to get it done unless it's an emergency, like the roof caves in or something, I mean, unless it's something that we absolutely have to do, we're not gonna do that.
- 27:54SPEAKER_00: We're not gonna pull equity out of it because we don't want the iniquity on our home.
- 27:59SPEAKER_00: God's the same way, same same principle.
- 28:02SPEAKER_00: We He doesn't want that, he He doesn't want it at all.
- 28:06SPEAKER_00: And it's kind of interesting, He wants us to completely depart from that.
- 28:09SPEAKER_00: So even in our circumstances and in our life, um, we are faced with inequity that we need to depart from, where we need to be wise.
- 28:18SPEAKER_00: But if we're standing on that foundation, it'll be easier for us to see it, it'll be easier for us to understand that you know this is what God wants for us.
- 28:30SPEAKER_00: And if you're not sure, what are we talking about?
- 28:33SPEAKER_00: Prayer.
- 28:34SPEAKER_00: If you're not sure, go to Him and pray.
- 28:37SPEAKER_00: Say, Lord, I'm really not sure.
- 28:39SPEAKER_00: I kind of want to do this, you know, because our flesh is kind of wanting.
- 28:43SPEAKER_00: And we sometimes desire things that we shouldn't want, you know, and I think that's where the inequity comes in sometimes in our lives because we have a desire or we think it's an easy fix, or this looks like a good idea, but it's really not.
- 28:57SPEAKER_00: And God says we're so supposed to depart from that, and so the way to depart from that is by going back to the foundation of God and seeking him out in prayer, which is so powerful that we're talking about this day because it's so important that we recognize take a step back.
- 29:13SPEAKER_00: Don't just jump in.
- 29:14SPEAKER_00: You don't know how deep that water is.
- 29:16SPEAKER_00: Be careful, you know.
- 29:18SPEAKER_00: There's no warning signs right now, but you know what?
- 29:20SPEAKER_00: There is a warning sign.
- 29:22SPEAKER_00: God says to take it to him, go to the foundation, certain.
- 29:26SPEAKER_00: So I love that.
- 29:27SPEAKER_00: Yeah, there's there's a lot to that, but uh, it does take me back, it does make me think about um, you know, the guy who builds his house on the rock versus the guy who built his house on the sand.
- 29:36SPEAKER_00: Because, you know, which one had the had had the foundation?
- 29:39SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 29:40SPEAKER_00: So we need to be wise like that.
- 29:42SPEAKER_00: That's where that knowledge comes in, you know.
- 29:45SPEAKER_00: So we need to be knowledgeable of that.
- 29:48SPEAKER_00: That makes sense.
- 29:50SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 29:52SPEAKER_01: Very good insights there.
- 29:57SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 29:58SPEAKER_01: And as I said, um, we will take one episode at least for each of these verses that we're looking at, um, so we can really dive into them um to a greater extent.
- 30:22SPEAKER_01: But now as we look at our final verse for this episode, Luke ten verse nineteen.
- 30:38SPEAKER_01: Luke ten nineteen, which says, Behold, I give unto you a power to trade on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
- 31:09SPEAKER_01: Now also notice verse eighteen, and he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.
- 31:31SPEAKER_01: And verse eighteen is talking about the time when Lucifer rebelled and he fell from heaven.
- 31:51SPEAKER_01: Jesus actually saw that because he was in heaven with God, and that might be another episode topic, maybe, but I thought that was interesting that that's right before the verse 19, when once again Jesus was here on earth during his ministry, and he was teaching his disciples, and even if you notice verse 17 of Luke 10, it talks about who Jesus' audience was at this time.
- 32:58SPEAKER_01: It was the 70 that Jesus had sent out.
- 33:06SPEAKER_01: That was his physical audience at this time, but as we notice verse 19, again, there's there's also so much within this verse that we need to remember that it wasn't just for back then at that time, it is for today, I believe.
- 33:41SPEAKER_01: And I want to focus on at least one word in that verse, if not more.
- 34:04SPEAKER_01: Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy.
- 34:22SPEAKER_01: And nothing shall by any means hurt you.
- 34:31SPEAKER_01: Notice that Jesus told his disciples who was there at that time.
- 34:43SPEAKER_01: He would give them power over all, not just part of the enemy, not just certain sections, but all power.
- 35:06SPEAKER_01: And I I really feel greatly impressed just to not only end on that verse, but just to consider that.
- 35:24SPEAKER_01: I mean, we've we've talked about how there's so much going on in the world right now, and there is.
- 35:33SPEAKER_01: And it if we're not careful, we'll get caught up in it, and we'll be like, God, what are you doing?
- 35:43SPEAKER_01: What what's going on?
- 35:45SPEAKER_01: And why are why are Christians still here?
- 35:50SPEAKER_01: And don't you care about us?
- 35:52SPEAKER_01: And wait, let's not give in to Satan.
- 36:03SPEAKER_01: Satan wants us to be all frantic and concerned, and you know, doubting our prayers and doubting God's power to deliver and restore and heal.
- 36:21SPEAKER_01: And but God is saying, as He said then, I give you power, all power.
- 36:35SPEAKER_01: All there's not any aspect of the enemy that we don't have power over.
- 36:47SPEAKER_01: Not because of who we are individually, but solely because of God, because of his power, and I I'm feeling the Holy Spirit power so much right now, and I want to keep going on this, and I will again have at least one episode, if not more, just on this verse.
- 37:27SPEAKER_01: But I trust you can see God's power, and that's the power he has given us.
- 37:47SPEAKER_01: We don't have to give in to Satan.
- 37:52SPEAKER_01: We don't have to resign ourselves to the fact that Satan is just he's attacking me and I don't understand.
- 38:05SPEAKER_01: And you know, I guess it's just easier if I just give in to him and oh please don't.
- 38:23SPEAKER_01: Please understand if you are a Christian, God has given you all the power you need because of who He is.
- 38:42SPEAKER_01: No one here on earth is powerful enough to defeat Satan.
- 38:53SPEAKER_01: If anyone was, I would be the first one of the first ones in line to them to figure out what I can do to defeat Satan.
- 39:11SPEAKER_01: But the reality is God is the only one who is powerful enough.
- 39:22SPEAKER_01: And you know, as we talk about the Trinity, God the Father, Jesus, God the Son, and the Holy Spirit, they work together.
- 39:45SPEAKER_01: They also work individually, and yet they want us individually as well as one God to understand to not be so consumed about being perfect or anything like that in our prayers.
- 40:27SPEAKER_01: God, the Trinity working together wants us to come.
- 40:41SPEAKER_01: Hebrews 4 12.
- 40:45SPEAKER_01: Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace that we may pay mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
- 41:00SPEAKER_01: And so as we wrap up this episode for today, let's remember the power of prayer.
- 41:16SPEAKER_01: It's not about being perfect, it's not about right words, it's not about anything like that, it's just about coming to God as we are, and seeing his power displayed.
- 41:43SPEAKER_01: So, Mickey, do you have any thoughts on that?
- 41:49SPEAKER_00: Actually, um, of course, I always do, but this scripture is it holds a lot, it has a lot, like you said, um, you we could tear this down and make it a whole episode.
- 42:00SPEAKER_00: What a couple things I want to point out in in Luke um 10 19, where it says, Behold, I have given you power to tread on serpents and scorpions.
- 42:08SPEAKER_00: That authority is it is a delegated authority.
- 42:11SPEAKER_00: Jesus is the one delegating this authority, but he's not just delegating it to his disciples.
- 42:16SPEAKER_00: If you're a believer, he's delegating it to you as well.
- 42:20SPEAKER_00: You have been given by Jesus the authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy.
- 42:30SPEAKER_00: And nothing shall hurt you.
- 42:32SPEAKER_00: So again, this is a promise, a spiritual promise of authority granted by Jesus to believers.
- 42:37SPEAKER_00: And it's so that we have power over demonic forces, deception, and spiritual attacks.
- 42:42SPEAKER_00: Okay?
- 42:43SPEAKER_00: Now, when we talk about serpents and scorpions, um they symbolize forces of darkness, lies, um, toxic toxicity, um, stinging demonic attacks.
- 42:56SPEAKER_00: I mean, I don't know about you, I hate scorpions with a passion.
- 43:00SPEAKER_00: Out of all things, critter-wise, that is my I'm terrified of scorpions.
- 43:07SPEAKER_00: I'm okay with snakes, I'm okay with rats, I'm okay with mice, I'm okay with spiders, but I see a scorpion and my I just get it almost makes me ill.
- 43:16SPEAKER_00: You know, I think about that stinger on the back, and I just can't imagine it.
- 43:20SPEAKER_00: Now, in Revelations 9, it actually talks more about the scorpions, and scorpions are gonna be part of what is released in the end times when it when it talks about um um the plagues, okay.
- 43:34SPEAKER_00: And it's it's a locus, it's it's there's gonna be locusts, and then there's gonna be like um scorpions and all of that released, okay.
- 43:43SPEAKER_00: Think about this as we're going into the end times now, which I believe that we really are facing a lot of the end time prophecy.
- 43:52SPEAKER_00: Um think about this.
- 43:54SPEAKER_00: I don't know about you, but when I first read about Revelations 9 and I thought about them scare the those scary.
- 44:00SPEAKER_00: Scorpions, I was kind of afraid.
- 44:02SPEAKER_00: I was afraid, but see, um, Luke 10 frees me from that fear because he's given me the power to tread.
- 44:13SPEAKER_00: That means to be actively like going to battle, taking them out.
- 44:19SPEAKER_00: That I can I can handle it.
- 44:21SPEAKER_00: I can I can go and I can I can stomp on their heads, you know.
- 44:24SPEAKER_00: Like I know we're talking about a spiritual realm, but if I had to do it in a physical realm, I still know that God has given me the power to defeat it because his word says he does.
- 44:35SPEAKER_00: And not only does he say he does, but over that specific thing.
- 44:40SPEAKER_00: So because I hate scorpions, I love this scripture because I know that I have the power, even as much as I don't like it, and they give me the heebie-jeebies and the willies and all that, I know that I'll have the power and the strength to defeat them.
- 44:53SPEAKER_00: And they won't hurt me.
- 44:55SPEAKER_00: They won't they don't even get to hurt me, they don't get to sting me because of who Jesus is, because Jesus delegated that authority to us.
- 45:02SPEAKER_00: And I love that because I think we forget so often, like I said in the very beginning, that we are not mindful enough, the power that we carry ourselves as believers, as Christians, and we do not stand up to the enemy near enough.
- 45:20SPEAKER_00: No, we are letting the enemy just trample over us.
- 45:23SPEAKER_00: So the enemy is treading on us, but the word says we are to tread on the enemy.
- 45:28SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 45:28SPEAKER_00: So why aren't we doing it?
- 45:30SPEAKER_00: Why are we not grabbing this power and doing it?
- 45:34SPEAKER_00: We hold it.
- 45:35SPEAKER_00: We need to be going to battle.
- 45:37SPEAKER_00: And I love this because in in the like everything that's going on right now, which is a lot.
- 45:43SPEAKER_00: Um, I don't like to get into politics, I don't like to get into any of that.
- 45:46SPEAKER_00: There's a lot going on.
- 45:48SPEAKER_00: Um, the writing is on the wall, let's just say that, okay?
- 45:51SPEAKER_00: But not only is the writing on the wall, but prophecies are being fulfilled, and prophecies are going to continue to be fulfilled until Jesus comes, until we're face to face, we're back, we're in heaven, and we're sitting, you know, next to God who's going to be on the throne.
- 46:06SPEAKER_00: That is going to happen.
- 46:08SPEAKER_00: And I know there's a lot of people that don't believe in it.
- 46:11SPEAKER_00: They don't believe in it.
- 46:12SPEAKER_00: Well, I'm I want to challenge if you are struggling with any belief at all, any belief at all in prayer or in power, because this episode is the power of prayer.
- 46:23SPEAKER_00: I challenge all of our listeners today to literally go to God, pray about something, and take the authority that Jesus gave you and start speaking that power over whatever your circumstance is.
- 46:37SPEAKER_00: It could be your finances, it could be your family, it could be your health, it could be anything that you're struggling with right now.
- 46:45SPEAKER_00: I guarantee you that if you go to Jesus and you pray and you ask him, Lord, I want that authority.
- 46:50SPEAKER_00: Thank you for giving thank you for giving me that authority.
- 46:52SPEAKER_00: You don't even have to say I want it because you already have it if you're a Christian.
- 46:55SPEAKER_00: Now, if you're not a Christian, get saved and then grab the power and start running with it.
- 47:00SPEAKER_00: I I like right away, like because time is of the essence.
- 47:04SPEAKER_00: We're running out.
- 47:05SPEAKER_00: We need to grab a hold of that power and we need to start using it.
- 47:10SPEAKER_00: Not not just not to go around and be like, oh, I have power, I can do this.
- 47:14SPEAKER_00: You know, we're not, you know, we're not like you know, the the gal in Cinderella with her little wand, like doo-doo to do do do, and like, you know, no, we we have this is serious power.
- 47:24SPEAKER_00: This is power that God ordained for us and cannot be taken from us, but we don't use it because one, we don't know how, and we don't understand it, and we don't trust it.
- 47:38SPEAKER_00: We have to trust the power that is in prayer.
- 47:42SPEAKER_00: We have to speak things.
- 47:43SPEAKER_00: If you're speaking negative negatively over yourself, stop doing that.
- 47:49SPEAKER_00: You are literally crushing the power that God gave you.
- 47:52SPEAKER_00: Jesus gave you the power to speak positively over yourself.
- 47:57SPEAKER_00: Yeah, you have to do that, you have to speak positively positively over other people.
- 48:02SPEAKER_00: Yes, it's easy for us in the world we live in with the hate, and everybody wants to conform to everyone else's so-called standards that everyone's creating by the second, mind you.
- 48:14SPEAKER_00: Everyone's creating something new by the second, and everyone's trying to get on board with it.
- 48:19SPEAKER_00: If you're not on board with God, you're on the wrong board.
- 48:22SPEAKER_00: You need to get on board with God and stay there.
- 48:24SPEAKER_00: And and take that power, and you need to rebuke everything else.
- 48:28SPEAKER_00: And you know what?
- 48:29SPEAKER_00: God will God will show you.
- 48:30SPEAKER_00: He will literally show you what to watch out for, he'll he'll give you that insight.
- 48:37SPEAKER_00: You know, like I posted the other day, I don't know if you've seen it on on um on uh Facebook, how everyone's doing the AI character trend or care character um trend.
- 48:48SPEAKER_00: And it's fun, it's cute.
- 48:50SPEAKER_00: I see people having a lot of fun with it.
- 48:52SPEAKER_00: Okay, I think that's okay if you're being careful, but don't let it replace who you are.
- 48:58SPEAKER_00: God gave you your identity.
- 48:59SPEAKER_00: And that's so I said, hey, post something original, post original picture of yourself because you it this may be fun, but you're funner.
- 49:07SPEAKER_00: This may be cool, but you're better.
- 49:08SPEAKER_00: This you know, God created you to be perfect in your original form.
- 49:13SPEAKER_00: You don't have to be sugarcoated or you know, cutesy and colored in like a coloring book.
- 49:19SPEAKER_00: That's all perfectly fine to play with, but you need to be careful because I think it's it literally is stealing people's identities.
- 49:27SPEAKER_00: It's kind of still in it if you're getting so wrapped up in it.
- 49:30SPEAKER_00: And you know, I play with it, sometimes I have fun with it, but I know who I am in Christ.
- 49:35SPEAKER_00: I know where my power is, and I know I'm not gonna allow that to have any authority over me.
- 49:39SPEAKER_00: So we really have to be careful because in the end, there's so much power with AI, especially.
- 49:45SPEAKER_00: Um, there's a lot of darkness in AI, so we really need to be very mindful that it may look fun on the surface, but down deep, what are they really doing?
- 49:55SPEAKER_00: What are they really after?
- 49:56SPEAKER_00: Who are they tearing apart?
- 49:57SPEAKER_00: Who are they targeting?
- 49:58SPEAKER_00: They're targeting our kids, they're targeting our families, they're targeting people that we love.
- 50:03SPEAKER_00: We need to be careful, we need to be mindful.
- 50:06SPEAKER_00: Again, be in prayer.
- 50:09SPEAKER_00: That power is there.
- 50:11SPEAKER_00: God wants us to have it, he wants us to use it.
- 50:14SPEAKER_00: He didn't create it for it to sit on a shelf, just like our word.
- 50:18SPEAKER_00: We he didn't give us the word of God for it to get dusty on some old shelf in your house.
- 50:23SPEAKER_00: He wants us to have it open.
- 50:25SPEAKER_00: That is our sword.
- 50:26SPEAKER_00: We need to be taking that word and we need to be using it vitally.
- 50:30SPEAKER_00: The scripture today was amazing.
- 50:32SPEAKER_00: Great, great choice of scripture that you picked.
- 50:34SPEAKER_00: And um whatever your cares are, cast them on him.
- 50:39SPEAKER_00: He wants all of them.
- 50:40SPEAKER_00: He wants all of your cares.
- 50:42SPEAKER_00: He he wants to um he wants to help you, no matter what, he wants to help us.
- 50:48SPEAKER_00: And I I know that um with Jesus speaking to his disciples, and I love that you also mentioned the 70, how you went back up to 17 or 18, verse 18, I think.
- 51:01SPEAKER_00: No, 17, where it talks about the 70, original 70, okay.
- 51:05SPEAKER_00: He, you know, he didn't he didn't have a big following back then, but guess what?
- 51:09SPEAKER_00: I mentioned this before in another episode.
- 51:12SPEAKER_00: It's amazing that Jesus didn't travel very far, but the entire world knows who he is.
- 51:19SPEAKER_00: And why is that?
- 51:20SPEAKER_00: Because he has the power.
- 51:23SPEAKER_00: Why do we want the power from him?
- 51:25SPEAKER_00: Because he has the power.
- 51:28SPEAKER_00: I mean, put put it together, it works, you know, it makes sense.
- 51:32SPEAKER_00: So I encourage all of our listeners today that if if you if you're questioning anything in prayer, in power, with God, with Jesus, I really encourage you to just go spend some quiet time in meditation and in pray.
- 51:50SPEAKER_00: Take the word, even if you have to just read the word.
- 51:54SPEAKER_00: Sometimes you just got to read the word over and over and over good.
- 51:57SPEAKER_00: It could just be one passage, and God will start working with you in that one scripture.
- 52:02SPEAKER_00: One one scripture, He'll work with you.
- 52:05SPEAKER_00: If you don't know what to do, He will show you.
- 52:08SPEAKER_00: And He wants to show you because we need to be armored up, and guess what else?
- 52:12SPEAKER_00: We need to be prayed up.
- 52:13SPEAKER_00: That's why we have to have our oil lamps full.
- 52:16SPEAKER_00: You know, it's not a physical lamp.
- 52:18SPEAKER_00: It's not actually, hey, go fill up all the lamps, you know, make sure they're all full of oil.
- 52:23SPEAKER_00: Yeah, we need to have some preparedness in and out of season, but we need to be in our heart, in our spirit, with ourselves, with our loved ones, we need to be ready.
- 52:32SPEAKER_00: So if we're not prayed up, we're not ready.
- 52:35SPEAKER_00: So much power today.
- 52:36SPEAKER_00: So much power.
- 52:36SPEAKER_00: I totally feel Holy Spirit's just you know, has has really um just shown up today mightily.
- 52:44SPEAKER_00: And I think that's amazing because we, you know, we need it.
- 52:47SPEAKER_00: We love Holy Spirit.
- 52:48SPEAKER_00: We we we need confirmation.
- 52:50SPEAKER_00: And um this message was great.
- 52:53SPEAKER_00: Thank you for bringing all of those scriptures.
- 52:55SPEAKER_00: Again, we will definitely have to break some of them down and um um make them a study per se, because there is so much which with each one of them.
- 53:06SPEAKER_00: Um, but again, they do all connect the dots with every single word that's in the Bible, and I love that.
- 53:11SPEAKER_00: But as far as today goes, this has been another really great episode.
- 53:16SPEAKER_00: And next week we are going to continue with talking about prayer because prayer we can talk about probably for a long, long time.
- 53:24SPEAKER_00: Um we just want to keep sharing it and we want to encourage it.
- 53:29SPEAKER_00: So I encourage you to also share it and encourage it as a listener, um, as a believer, as a Christian.
- 53:36SPEAKER_00: Um, and if you're struggling, if you need prayer, reach out to Bethany or myself.
- 53:40SPEAKER_00: We would be glad to pray for you.
- 53:41SPEAKER_00: You can go to her website, um, fill in, fill, put, put your email address in there, subscribe, she'll get in touch with you, she'll pray with you.
- 53:48SPEAKER_00: You can go to crushing strongholds.com.
- 53:51SPEAKER_00: There's a place in there for prayer.
- 53:52SPEAKER_00: You can sign up for prayer there.
- 53:54SPEAKER_00: Um, just reach out if you need prayer today.
- 53:57SPEAKER_00: We want to pray with you, we want to help you strengthen your prayer life so that also you can pray for someone else.
- 54:03SPEAKER_00: It's important that we pray for one another.
- 54:05SPEAKER_00: We need to be in unity.
- 54:07SPEAKER_00: And um, I firmly believe that God designed us to walk as as a whole.
- 54:15SPEAKER_00: We are the bride, we're the church.
- 54:17SPEAKER_00: We are we are his people.
- 54:19SPEAKER_00: And the way that we become stronger in that unity, um, besides just straightening up our crown or lifting each other up when we're down, is through prayer.
- 54:29SPEAKER_00: Prayer has the ultimate power, it's so strong.
- 54:32SPEAKER_00: Um, there's a lot of there's a lot to it, I should say.
- 54:36SPEAKER_00: And so um, Bethany, do you have anything you want to say before I close this out?
- 54:43SPEAKER_02: No.
- 54:44SPEAKER_00: No.
- 54:45SPEAKER_00: It was good.
- 54:46SPEAKER_00: That was it was such a good message.
- 54:48SPEAKER_00: Um, like you said, there's a lot of power to it.
- 54:50SPEAKER_00: So um again for our listeners, I just want to thank you so much for being here.
- 54:54SPEAKER_00: This has been another great epit episode.
- 54:55SPEAKER_00: Bethany, I thank you always for being here.
- 54:58SPEAKER_00: I thank you for um all of your hearts.
- 55:00SPEAKER_00: You you do so much studying, and and um, you know, you're just so studious in getting that word out so we can understand it, and you have a way of explaining things that um make it make sense.
- 55:11SPEAKER_00: So I thank you for that.
- 55:12SPEAKER_00: And for our listeners, make sure you like, follow, and share, subscribe, and um um tag along.
- 55:19SPEAKER_00: And if you need any prayer, just reach out to us.
- 55:22SPEAKER_00: So have a great day.
- 55:23SPEAKER_00: Y'all be blessed, and y'all take care.
