Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: This is Kiss Breakfast, a brand new podcast out called Charmed.
- 0:05Speaker 2: You can get it on iHeartRadio.
- 0:07Speaker 1: Sam Todd is the host and she is joining us
- 0:10Speaker 1: right now. Hello.
- 0:11Speaker 2: Good morning.
- 0:12Speaker 1: Hey, Sam.
- 0:12Speaker 2: Hi, I'm so excited to be making my official radio
- 0:15Speaker 2: debut with you.
- 0:17Speaker 1: So for anyone who hasn't come across you online before,
- 0:20Speaker 1: can you tell us a little bit about yourself and
- 0:22Speaker 1: how did you get into content creation?
- 0:25Speaker 2: Of course. So my name is Sam Todd and I'm
- 0:27Speaker 2: on YouTube, TikTok and Instagram and I'm everywhere. And now
- 0:31Speaker 2: also on all of the podcast platforms, but I'm most
- 0:35Speaker 2: known for my videos shopping around the world, which is
- 0:39Speaker 2: a very difficult, very hard job.
- 0:40Speaker 1: Someone's got to do it, right? Yes.
- 0:43Speaker 2: So you're a shopaholic? Well, some might say that. But
- 0:47Speaker 2: I travel around collecting country exclusive items, namely Pandora charms.
- 0:52Speaker 2: They have all of these different ones you can only
- 0:54Speaker 2: get in certain countries. Aha. Yes. And I've gone to
- 0:57Speaker 2: over 20 countries now and collected over 20 country exclusive
- 1:00Speaker 2: Pandora charms. Yes.
- 1:02Speaker 1: My daughter actually has a little Pandora bracelet that my
- 1:05Speaker 1: mum bought her when she was a baby, well, like
- 1:07Speaker 1: a little kid. And every time it's her birthday or Christmas,
- 1:11Speaker 1: she buys her like a new Pandora charm.
- 1:14Speaker 2: Oh, cute. Start them young. I love to hear it.
- 1:17Speaker 1: And when my husband and I were over in Italy,
- 1:19Speaker 1: we actually got her a little charm and it's like
- 1:22Speaker 1: a little croissant and it hangs off her. Yeah, it's
- 1:24Speaker 1: really cute. And you've got 20.
- 1:27Speaker 2: What's your favourite one, Sam? Oh, my favorite one. I
- 1:30Speaker 2: just recently went to Japan and they released new country
- 1:33Speaker 2: exclusive ones. This is the thing. You keep having to
- 1:35Speaker 2: get more because there was a range of country exclusive
- 1:38Speaker 2: ones in, say, 2024, but now they're new in 2026.
- 1:40Speaker 2: So you have to keep adding them. And the one
- 1:42Speaker 2: that I got in Japan is an Omomori, which is
- 1:45Speaker 2: a lucky amulet. So I love that it's a good
- 1:47Speaker 2: luck charm and a Pandora charm in one.
- 1:49Speaker 1: So you must do a lot of traveling as well.
- 1:50Speaker 1: Do you travel on your own or with your family
- 1:53Speaker 1: or a partner?
- 1:55Speaker 2: I travel with my partner and my girlfriends. I like
- 1:57Speaker 2: to mix it up because, you know what, at the
- 2:00Speaker 2: end of the day, nothing can beat a girl's trip.
- 2:02Speaker 2: There is nothing better than a girl's trip.
- 2:04Speaker 1: How good is going away with the girls?
- 2:06Speaker 2: Yes. But in terms of long-term travel, it's got to
- 2:08Speaker 2: be with your partner because you can't get sick of them.
- 2:10Speaker 2: So I balance the two.
- 2:12Speaker 1: Okay. And for people who've never listened to Charmed, your
- 2:15Speaker 1: new podcast, can you tell us what it's about?
- 2:17Speaker 2: Of course. So what I love about our show Charmed
- 2:20Speaker 2: is that it's not the stories that you always hear
- 2:23Speaker 2: from the guests because we have a wide array of
- 2:25Speaker 2: guests who come on and instead of talking about maybe
- 2:27Speaker 2: the reality TV show run they just had or the
- 2:29Speaker 2: book they had, I mean, we do touch on that.
- 2:31Speaker 2: What we're really looking to uncover is stories they don't
- 2:34Speaker 2: talk about that often or at all about the items
- 2:37Speaker 2: that they collect and treasure and things that they... have
- 2:40Speaker 2: never shared publicly that they collect. And it's really exciting
- 2:42Speaker 2: getting to hear these stories we haven't heard before. Right.
- 2:45Speaker 1: So, like, it could be, like, I know my nerdy
- 2:47Speaker 1: sister used to have a stamp collection yawn.
- 2:49Speaker 2: No yawning on collections in this house.
- 2:53Speaker 1: But you could also– it's like my husband. My husband
- 2:56Speaker 1: used to– he backpacked for, like, nine months.
- 2:58Speaker 2: That's right.
- 2:58Speaker 1: And in our garage we have this– well, not a container,
- 3:01Speaker 1: it's like a box, and it's of all the lighters
- 3:04Speaker 1: and matchboxes that he collected from all the different places, hostels,
- 3:08Speaker 1: you know, countries that he visited. And I keep saying
- 3:12Speaker 1: to him, these need to go out in the council clean-up,
- 3:14Speaker 1: and he just won't throw them out.
- 3:15Speaker 2: No, let's get him on time. Exactly the kind of
- 3:17Speaker 2: guest we're looking for.
- 3:18Speaker 1: We'll get Ryan on your podcast. I mean, that's the thing, right?
- 3:21Speaker 1: You can tell what a person's like based on what
- 3:23Speaker 1: they collect, yeah?
- 3:24Speaker 2: And there's always an interesting story to it. Yes, and
- 3:26Speaker 2: it's the things that mean nothing to anyone else, but
- 3:28Speaker 2: they're so important to them. We just had Chloe Hayden
- 3:31Speaker 2: on last week and she brought a chunk of cement,
- 3:34Speaker 2: like floor, from the shipyard where the Titanic was because
- 3:37Speaker 2: she loves the Titanic and she stole that from the
- 3:40Speaker 2: shipyard in Belfast.
- 3:42Speaker 1: See, okay, well, would you consider yourself a bit of
- 3:45Speaker 1: a hoarder? Because I say to my husband all the time,
- 3:49Speaker 1: he loves holding on to old things, memorabilia from his
- 3:52Speaker 1: dad playing football. He's still got his, like, kindergarten photos. Wow. Yeah,
- 3:57Speaker 1: he holds on to everything. And I'm like, those be
- 4:01Speaker 1: some hoarding tendencies, right?
- 4:03Speaker 2: I prefer the term collector or archivist. Archivist. It's an
- 4:09Speaker 2: archive of my life. But, yes, I keep everything. Okay,
- 4:12Speaker 2: I think we might need to get you on that
- 4:14Speaker 2: hoarder show.
- 4:16Speaker 1: Sam Todd, hey, go and listen to Charm. Sounds really interesting.
- 4:19Speaker 2: You can check it out on the.
- 4:20Speaker 1: Free iHeart app right now.
- 4:22Speaker 2: Watch or listen. Good on you, Sam Todd. Thanks a lot.
- 4:25Speaker 1: Good on you, Sam. Nice to chat.
- 4:26Speaker 2: Thank you so much.
