- 0:01Speaker 1: Hey, discos, need a little more Disgraceland in your life,
- 0:05Speaker 1: just to touch to get you through. Yeah, me too.
- 0:08Speaker 1: This is the podcast that comes after the podcast. Welcome
- 0:11Speaker 1: to Disgraceland. The after Party. Welcome to the Disgraceland bonus episode,
- 0:31Speaker 1: a little thing we like to call the after party.
- 0:33Speaker 1: This is the show after the show, the party after
- 0:36Speaker 1: the party, the bridge to get you from one full
- 0:38Speaker 1: episode of disgrace Land to the other, the backyard to
- 0:40Speaker 1: dig into the dirt. On this episode, we are talking
- 0:44Speaker 1: about the next season of Disgraceland. David Johansson, Bruce Springsteen again,
- 0:50Speaker 1: and of course your voicemails, text, dms and more, and
- 0:54Speaker 1: as always, a whole lot of rosie. All right, Discos,
- 0:58Speaker 1: let's get into it. Hello, Hello, Hello, and welcome to
- 1:18Speaker 1: the neverland of Disgraceland. It's trailer week, my peoples. This
- 1:23Speaker 1: past Tuesday we dropped on you the trailer for season
- 1:25Speaker 1: twelve of Disgraceland. Let's run through the episodes for this
- 1:29Speaker 1: upcoming season. All right, next week on May sixteenth, our
- 1:32Speaker 1: season twelfth premiere. I said it last week. You know
- 1:35Speaker 1: it's coming your way. Bruce Springsteen. All right, I say
- 1:38Speaker 1: this with all the humility. I can muster this is
- 1:42Speaker 1: the best episode of Disgraceland that we've ever produced. It's wacky,
- 1:46Speaker 1: it's out there. It's in the spirit of the Boss
- 1:48Speaker 1: and New Jersey and the Mafia and serial killers and
- 1:51Speaker 1: cool cars and bar fights and violence and romance and
- 1:54Speaker 1: religion and rock and roll and redemption and just about
- 1:57Speaker 1: every other piece of drama that scratches my itch. And
- 2:00Speaker 1: hopefully you're a collectivich as disc goes, I put my
- 2:04Speaker 1: backbone into this episode for you guys, as did the
- 2:06Speaker 1: team here at Double Evis. I cannot wait for you
- 2:09Speaker 1: to hear it something about Bruce Springsteen. Man, He's inspiring
- 2:14Speaker 1: inspired the hell out of me. Without giving too much away,
- 2:17Speaker 1: I'll say that this is not your typical disgrace Land episode,
- 2:21Speaker 1: and that this look at the Boss deals solely with Nebraska,
- 2:25Speaker 1: the album Nebraska. If you're a Springsteen fan, you'll know
- 2:28Speaker 1: what I'm talking about. If you're not, then go immediately
- 2:31Speaker 1: after you listen to this episode and find and listen
- 2:34Speaker 1: to Springsteen's record Nebraska. All right after the Boss episode,
- 2:38Speaker 1: we get into a dude that I believe is fascinating
- 2:40Speaker 1: and misunderstood and wildly entertaining. Young mister Justin Bieber. And
- 2:44Speaker 1: before all the classic rock and punk rock fans start
- 2:47Speaker 1: chirping at me on social media about covering someone so poppy,
- 2:49Speaker 1: I'll just say, reserve your judgment. Check this episode out.
- 2:53Speaker 1: It's not like I'm asking you to listen to a
- 2:55Speaker 1: Justin Bieber album. I'm asking you to listen to a
- 2:58Speaker 1: story about Justin. And there's a difference, and it's a
- 3:01Speaker 1: fucked up story, and I wouldn't cover it if I
- 3:03Speaker 1: didn't think you guys would get something from it. So
- 3:05Speaker 1: I've done this in the past. Taylor Swift, Britney Spears,
- 3:07Speaker 1: Cardi B and most of you liked those episodes, though
- 3:10Speaker 1: I do still get hate mail about the Cardi B yep,
- 3:12Speaker 1: to which I say, chill and all right, Bieber, nothing
- 3:17Speaker 1: you can do about it. He's coming your way right
- 3:19Speaker 1: after the Boss and following that Easy motherfucking e we
- 3:22Speaker 1: covered NWA, Yes, But even though that was a two parter.
- 3:25Speaker 1: I remember when I was researching the NWA episodes and
- 3:28Speaker 1: that story one of those stories, man, it was like,
- 3:32Speaker 1: this could be a whole season. And the Easy story
- 3:35Speaker 1: in particular is so incredible that at the very least,
- 3:37Speaker 1: I mean, look, we could do a whole season Easy
- 3:39Speaker 1: as well, and nwa, that's how much fucked up stuff
- 3:42Speaker 1: has gone on, how much drama there is. But Easy
- 3:47Speaker 1: deserved his own episode. So here you go. You're welcome America,
- 3:49Speaker 1: all right, I kid, but not really the Easy story.
- 3:51Speaker 1: It's awesome how he fell into the game on the
- 3:54Speaker 1: street and in the studio. Truly remarkable, and in the
- 3:57Speaker 1: end it's it's kind of heartbreaking. Sug night. One bad motherfucker,
- 4:01Speaker 1: That's all I'll say. But after Eric Wright, Disgraceland follows
- 4:04Speaker 1: up with Jeff Buckley, a personal favorite of mine. Jeff
- 4:08Speaker 1: Buckley was a one of a kind talent. His origin
- 4:10Speaker 1: story is not what you think. Cover bands, reggae, hardcore
- 4:14Speaker 1: all over the place, and it's as fascinating as his death.
- 4:19Speaker 1: From there, you asked for the ladies, Okay, I'm trying
- 4:21Speaker 1: to deliver on the ladies. I've said it before, I'll
- 4:24Speaker 1: say it again. Women just do not behave in the
- 4:26Speaker 1: same fucked up, transgressive, criminal minded ways as men do.
- 4:29Speaker 1: As it pertains to the world of music and music
- 4:31Speaker 1: history anyway. And then there's Little Kim. This one was
- 4:36Speaker 1: a long time coming. Little Kim episode from Little Kim.
- 4:39Speaker 1: We go to Aerosmith, a band I swore I'd never
- 4:43Speaker 1: cover because I fucking hate Aerosmith. I mean I love Aerosmith,
- 4:47Speaker 1: I mean I hate Aerosmith. I don't know, man, I'm confused.
- 4:50Speaker 1: Do I love Aerosmith or do the way I despise
- 4:51Speaker 1: him with the power of a thousand burning songs? Maybe
- 4:53Speaker 1: someday I'll figure this out. Did producing this episode on
- 4:57Speaker 1: the so called bad Boys of Boston Puke helped me
- 4:59Speaker 1: work through my feelings about Aerosmith? I don't know. You
- 5:04Speaker 1: gotta listen to find out. More jazz artists Jake. More
- 5:07Speaker 1: jazz artists hate Jake. Why don't you produce more episodes
- 5:10Speaker 1: on the junked out jazz players of the twentieth century? Well,
- 5:14Speaker 1: you asked, and we answered. We covered Miles Davis a
- 5:16Speaker 1: couple of seasons ago. Did Chuck Baker? I'll get to
- 5:20Speaker 1: my guy train soon enough. And Charlie Parker fucked up story?
- 5:24Speaker 1: What a fucked up dude. But in the meantime, we're
- 5:28Speaker 1: releasing an awesome episode on Sonny Rowlins For all you
- 5:31Speaker 1: heads out there, any major dude will tell you that
- 5:33Speaker 1: this episode is going to blow your gord and from there,
- 5:36Speaker 1: from there, from there, from there, we give you another artist,
- 5:38Speaker 1: another woman, Ariana Grande in the bombing at her show
- 5:42Speaker 1: in Manchester, England. This one reads like a seventies thriller
- 5:44Speaker 1: slash disaster movie. I'm super proud of the work that
- 5:47Speaker 1: the team here did on this episode at Double Elvis,
- 5:50Speaker 1: and I know you guys are gonna be on the
- 5:51Speaker 1: edge of your seats for this one. What else? Who else?
- 5:54Speaker 1: We got new order? How about that new order? Merle Haggard.
- 5:57Speaker 1: Merle Haggard both kinds of music, drugged out synth pop
- 6:00Speaker 1: from the UK and hardcore truberter x con Bakersfield Country.
- 6:03Speaker 1: That's the promise the two New Order of Merle Haggard
- 6:05Speaker 1: episodes will keep. And finally we are rounding season twelve
- 6:08Speaker 1: out with a full episode on Velvet Underground. I had
- 6:11Speaker 1: to do it. I had to give the Velvets their
- 6:13Speaker 1: own proper episode or Disgraceland after dedicating two episodes to
- 6:17Speaker 1: the largely fictionalized Lou Reed origin story. I thought it
- 6:20Speaker 1: was only fair to the diehard Velvets fans out there,
- 6:23Speaker 1: So Velvet Underground coming your way, rounding out season twelve.
- 6:27Speaker 1: So that's it. Bruce Beebe's easy motherfucking e Jeff buck Lee.
- 6:31Speaker 1: Oh I forgot Jimmy Jimmy Hendricks. We did a whole
- 6:33Speaker 1: season on Jimmy for twenty seven Club, but we never
- 6:35Speaker 1: touched the sky here in Disgraceland with a Jimmy episode,
- 6:37Speaker 1: So here you go. Jimmy Hendricks has entered the chat
- 6:40Speaker 1: along with little Miss Strange and like I said, little
- 6:42Speaker 1: Kim Aerosmith, who, by the way, just announced their final
- 6:46Speaker 1: tour coincidence, I think not. Also Sunny rawlins Ariana Grande
- 6:50Speaker 1: New Order, Mister Merle Haggard and the Velvet Underground six
- 6:54Speaker 1: one seven nine zero six six six three eight. Let
- 6:57Speaker 1: me know what you think of the season twelve lineup
- 6:59Speaker 1: and who you want to hear featured in future seasons
- 7:01Speaker 1: of Disgrace lam I need to drink some tea back
- 7:03Speaker 1: in a couple seconds. Guys, I miss you. Call me,
- 7:27Speaker 1: text me, but for real call me. I need to
- 7:31Speaker 1: hear your lovely voices six one seven nine zer was
- 7:33Speaker 1: six six six three eight. Let's hear what Disco Diane
- 7:36Speaker 1: had to say.
- 7:38Speaker 2: Hey, Jake Diane from the three one three, thank you
- 7:42Speaker 2: so much for reminding me of the del Fuegos. I
- 7:44Speaker 2: had forgotten about them, and this morning it was a
- 7:48Speaker 2: really uh, a nice blast from the past. Also, I
- 7:53Speaker 2: agree with the Springsteen thing because I was not a
- 7:56Speaker 2: fan at all. I hated born in the USA, and
- 8:01Speaker 2: then I worked for a company where we repaired radios
- 8:05Speaker 2: and stuck in one of the radios was the Nebraska
- 8:08Speaker 2: CD and I listened to it and that suit changed
- 8:13Speaker 2: my life. I love that album so much. It is
- 8:17Speaker 2: so dark and so cool. It inspired me to go
- 8:21Speaker 2: back and listen to a lot of his other stuff.
- 8:24Speaker 3: And the man's a genius.
- 8:27Speaker 2: Anyway, Thanks so much, have a great day.
- 8:30Speaker 1: Bye, you got it, Diane. For those of you who
- 8:33Speaker 1: don't know, I mentioned the Del Fuegos previously because we
- 8:38Speaker 1: have this interview coming up with Warren Saintes, who is
- 8:41Speaker 1: in the Del Fuegos. He's now an author, still a musician.
- 8:44Speaker 1: Del Fuego is a re car of course, not together anymore.
- 8:46Speaker 1: But Warren writes books and he has a best seller
- 8:49Speaker 1: on Tom Petty. He's got a book that just came
- 8:52Speaker 1: out on Bruce Springsteen. As I record this, it's like
- 8:56Speaker 1: Three Days in the Wild, probably already on the bestseller list.
- 8:59Speaker 1: It's called Deliver Me from Nowhere, and it is about
- 9:03Speaker 1: Springsteen's recording of Nebraska, and it's about that record. So
- 9:06Speaker 1: I thought, Hey, I'm gonna get in touch with mister
- 9:10Speaker 1: del Fuego, Warren Zanes. I love the del Fuegos. I
- 9:13Speaker 1: could talk to him for an hour about the del
- 9:15Speaker 1: Fuego's about the record Boston Mass But it being sort
- 9:20Speaker 1: of a Springsteen time here in Disgraceland, it only made sense.
- 9:24Speaker 1: So that interview is coming up. It'll be here next week.
- 9:28Speaker 1: It'll be the bonus episode, the bonus after party episode.
- 9:31Speaker 1: In the next after party episode, my interview with Warren Zanes.
- 9:34Speaker 1: If you're reading the book, like I said previously, if
- 9:36Speaker 1: you got any questions for Warren, or you're you know,
- 9:39Speaker 1: if you're just you're Springsteen head and you got Nebraska
- 9:42Speaker 1: question six one seven nine zero six six six three eight,
- 9:47Speaker 1: and I'll ask Warren. I'll ask him on the on
- 9:49Speaker 1: the interview, we do an after party. All right, let's
- 9:52Speaker 1: do another voicemail. Let's hear from Jennifer.
- 9:55Speaker 4: Jake Jennifer from seven to five seven. Absolutely love the
- 9:59Speaker 4: show and the new per perspective you've given me on music.
- 10:01Speaker 4: I always thought I was a huge music fan. But
- 10:03Speaker 4: you've taught me there's even more I could know. Anyway,
- 10:06Speaker 4: A huge government Mule fan would love if you could
- 10:11Speaker 4: dive into Alan Woody a little bit. I've never known
- 10:14Speaker 4: much about him. I only discovered Government Mule shortly before
- 10:18Speaker 4: his death. You know, he also played a lot with
- 10:20Speaker 4: the Almond Brothers back.
- 10:21Speaker 3: In the day.
- 10:23Speaker 4: I know he's not a front man. He was a
- 10:24Speaker 4: bass player. But you don't always take on just the easy,
- 10:28Speaker 4: easy story. So wondering if that's something you would ever
- 10:31Speaker 4: dive into. Thank you, peace.
- 10:33Speaker 1: Out, Thanks Jennifer. I know almost nothing about Government Mule. Uh,
- 10:39Speaker 1: thanks for the recommendation. Government Mule fans? Where do I start, Jennifer?
- 10:43Speaker 1: Where do I start? Hit me up? Six one seven
- 10:44Speaker 1: nine er A six six sixty three eight? What Government
- 10:46Speaker 1: Mule record do I start with? Are there any books?
- 10:48Speaker 1: Let me know?
- 10:49Speaker 4: I got to know.
- 10:50Speaker 1: All right, let's to another voicemail. Let's check out this
- 10:54Speaker 1: voicemail from the two two eight.
- 10:56Speaker 3: Hey, this is Scott on the Gulf Coast of Mississippi.
- 11:01Speaker 3: I don't think you have done anything on the original
- 11:05Speaker 3: guitarist for Fleetwood Mac. I believe his name was Peter Green.
- 11:12Speaker 3: I grew up in a musical family. My father was
- 11:14Speaker 3: an entertainment agent and he was the one that told
- 11:18Speaker 3: me about him. I don't know all the stories, and
- 11:22Speaker 3: I think it may make an interesting story. He was
- 11:25Speaker 3: before Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks joined Tell Me what
- 11:33Speaker 3: to Think.
- 11:34Speaker 1: Thank you, hey, Scott, Thanks for the message, my man.
- 11:37Speaker 1: We did two episodes on Fleetwood Mac and part one
- 11:40Speaker 1: deals almost entirely with mister Peter Green. You can check
- 11:44Speaker 1: those out. Also. I didn't know this until recently, but
- 11:48Speaker 1: Kirk Hammett from Metallica now owns Peter Green's Les Paul
- 11:52Speaker 1: and uses it frequently on stage and in the studio.
- 11:55Speaker 1: Pretty awesome connection there, and check out the new Metallica
- 11:58Speaker 1: record It's good. It's good, all right. Thanks to the
- 12:01Speaker 1: voicemail six one seven nine zero six six six three eight,
- 12:03Speaker 1: drop me a line, leave me a message, send me
- 12:05Speaker 1: a text. You guys, we have this new bonus episode
- 12:08Speaker 1: called the Rap Party that's in the bad Lands. Feed
- 12:10Speaker 1: got to subscribe over there for bad Lands wherever podcasts
- 12:13Speaker 1: are available, search bad Lands like follow subscribe all that.
- 12:18Speaker 1: We got this whole other conversation happening over there in
- 12:21Speaker 1: the bonus episodes and the Rap Party. Like I said,
- 12:24Speaker 1: we're I'm answering your calls and your text over there,
- 12:26Speaker 1: just like I am here. If you call me, if
- 12:29Speaker 1: you text me, now, you have twice the opportunity to

- 12:38Speaker 1: So all the movie and TV stuff we were doing
- 12:40Speaker 1: here in the after party, we're not doing here anymore.
- 12:41Speaker 1: We're doing over in the rap Party. Call me over
- 12:43Speaker 1: there with your film, TV questions, recommendations, stories, whatever, it

- 12:53Speaker 1: let's do some texts, all right. On the last after party,
- 12:57Speaker 1: we got into this conversation about who the hop pop
- 13:01Speaker 1: stars of the eighties were, and this this comes in
- 13:05Speaker 1: from the nine three seven bill from the nine three
- 13:07Speaker 1: seven Top five eighties pop stars, Michael Jackson, Prince Madonna,
- 13:11Speaker 1: Whitney Houston, Cindy Lapper. Cindy was everywhere in the eighties
- 13:15Speaker 1: and time after time and true Color is both brilliant. Yeah,
- 13:19Speaker 1: you know that's uh. I did not. I did not
- 13:23Speaker 1: mention Cindy Lapper, and I probably should have, although I
- 13:25Speaker 1: don't know if she cracks my top five. The texter
- 13:28Speaker 1: goes on to say, keeping on theme, what am I
- 13:30Speaker 1: listening to? Hardline? According to Terrence Trent Darby? What a
- 13:33Speaker 1: genius album? I remember Terrence Trent Derby. He had a
- 13:36Speaker 1: single wishing Well, which I thought was awesome. And I
- 13:40Speaker 1: think I had whatever record that was on her cassette
- 13:43Speaker 1: back in the day, and I dug it, and I've
- 13:45Speaker 1: just sort of forgotten about Terrence Trent Derby nine three seven.
- 13:49Speaker 1: Thank you for the reminder here, all right, another text
- 13:52Speaker 1: for the five oh three Today, I had a drive
- 13:54Speaker 1: all over the fucking place and I had time to
- 13:56Speaker 1: listen to the Tom Petty episode Super Fun Trip. I
- 13:59Speaker 1: knew who he was when I was twelve, so ninety three.
- 14:02Speaker 1: It was absolutely in love with his music. Saw m
- 14:05Speaker 1: in oh one gil Coliseum, Corvallis, Oregon. Glad I got
- 14:08Speaker 1: to witness the band. Love your work, Thank you, and
- 14:10Speaker 1: thank You're melotron all right, five oh three, you got it.
- 14:14Speaker 1: Five oh three is referencing the recently previously exclusive Tom
- 14:18Speaker 1: Petty episode that we put out last week. You can
- 14:21Speaker 1: check that out all right. From the nine oh one,
- 14:24Speaker 1: they started off with a question mark something good. I
- 14:28Speaker 1: bought a new guitar something also good. We have a
- 14:31Speaker 1: son in the army who was coming home in July
- 14:34Speaker 1: from South Korea. Just thought i'd share. Well, that's awesome.
- 14:39Speaker 1: Nine oh one. Congrats to you and thank you. Thank
- 14:41Speaker 1: your son for his service. Very cool. Glad you digging Disgraceland.
- 14:47Speaker 1: Let's get in here, let's see here. What do we got?
- 14:49Speaker 1: What do we got? Hey? Jake just got done listening
- 14:52Speaker 1: to the new Richard Pryor Badlands episode, and damn that
- 14:55Speaker 1: was just insane and one of my new favorites. Any
- 14:57Speaker 1: update on a piece about Steve Orrayvaughn you mentioned possibly doing.
- 15:00Speaker 1: I feel like there's gotta be some deep dive stories
- 15:02Speaker 1: that could expose new listeners to his legend. Love all
- 15:05Speaker 1: the work truly helps make a day go by easier.
- 15:08Speaker 1: Rock on, Casey. Some of you might be asking, what
- 15:11Speaker 1: is this Richard Pryor episode. I've searched the Disgraceland feed.
- 15:14Speaker 1: I see nothing on Richard Pryor. What are people talking about? Well,
- 15:19Speaker 1: Richard Pryor was not a musician. That's true. He was not.
- 15:22Speaker 1: He was a comedian and an actor. And we have
- 15:24Speaker 1: this whole other podcast. It's called bad Lands, and that
- 15:27Speaker 1: is in its own feed. You can search any podcast
- 15:30Speaker 1: players Spotify, Apple Podcasts, iHeart, Amazon, wherever you get your podcasts, Stitcher,
- 15:37Speaker 1: whatever you know. You just search it. Bad Lands. Boom
- 15:40Speaker 1: comes up and woila. You got like a gazillion episodes
- 15:44Speaker 1: on actors, comedians, even some athletes. Me behind the mic
- 15:48Speaker 1: telling these stories, just like I do for Disgraceland, same show,
- 15:52Speaker 1: just not musicians. Okay, but that doesn't happen in Disgraceland.
- 15:55Speaker 1: It happens in bad Lands. So subscribe to bad Lands
- 15:58Speaker 1: and you even get a new bonus. So just like
- 16:00Speaker 1: this every week. Okay, you got it. You gotta figure
- 16:02Speaker 1: it out. I believe in you guys. You got it.

- 16:17Speaker 1: Let's do some Instagram dms. Let me pull them up here.
- 16:20Speaker 1: I got them organized on my phone, all right. This
- 16:23Speaker 1: one is from Alan Chalfont, who says, hey man, this
- 16:26Speaker 1: is Alan. I messaged you before in the text line
- 16:29Speaker 1: telling you about my business, bread Truck Records. Well, I
- 16:33Speaker 1: fucking did it, man, three exclamation points. Yeah. This guy Alan,
- 16:39Speaker 1: texting me said he was starting a business, had some
- 16:42Speaker 1: questions or not even really just like, hey, I'm starting
- 16:45Speaker 1: this business. You know it's a bread truck Records. It's
- 16:48Speaker 1: gonna be cool, blah blah. I was like, fucking do it, man.
- 16:51Speaker 1: Sounds awesome. So he's saying, I fucking did it man.
- 16:53Speaker 1: It is done and ready to go and do events.
- 16:55Speaker 1: I want to get the word out there as much
- 16:56Speaker 1: as possible. I know that advertising is not free, and
- 16:59Speaker 1: I totally get it, but I'm hoping maybe there's something
- 17:00Speaker 1: we can do. All right, well, this is it, bread
- 17:03Speaker 1: truck Records. This is Alan Chalfont on Instagram. A L
- 17:07Speaker 1: A n C h A L F A n T.
- 17:10Speaker 1: It's a bread truck with records. Need I say anything else?
- 17:14Speaker 1: Search this dude out, help support his business, tell him
- 17:17Speaker 1: disgrace lan Sanchie. Let's do another one here. This one
- 17:21Speaker 1: is from the rock Trail Running and he goes on
- 17:26Speaker 1: to say, all right, man, you got me. Not a
- 17:28Speaker 1: Bruce Springsteen fan at all, but the Nebraska album is
- 17:32Speaker 1: absolutely amazing and I've listened to it four times since lunch.
- 17:36Speaker 1: Thanks for all that you do. Cheers, you got it,
- 17:39Speaker 1: you got it. Rock Trail Running. I told you I
- 17:42Speaker 1: wouldn't fuck with you about Bruce Springsteen's Nebraska. It's a
- 17:45Speaker 1: great record, too good to fuck with. All right, let's
- 17:47Speaker 1: do some Facebook messages, all right? On Instagram, James Doyle writes,
- 17:52Speaker 1: and he's coming in hot. I just unfortunately listened to
- 17:57Speaker 1: the episode on Oscar Pistorius. Okay, so occasionally we do
- 18:02Speaker 1: these sports figures in bad Lands. Okay. Oscar Pistorius was
- 18:08Speaker 1: an Olympic runner. Okay, it's a bad Lands episode that
- 18:12Speaker 1: James is talking about. I just unfortunately listened to the
- 18:15Speaker 1: episode on Oscar Pistorius and had to stop at the
- 18:18Speaker 1: part where he had run over a dog. Describing the
- 18:21Speaker 1: dog pulling itself away by its front legs is too much, Jake.
- 18:25Speaker 1: You can tell us about humans, the pieces of shit.
- 18:28Speaker 1: They are being run over by cars all day long.
- 18:31Speaker 1: It shouldn't result in anyone having an iota of anxiety, because,
- 18:34Speaker 1: as your show has proven, there is no such thing
- 18:36Speaker 1: as an innocent person. However, animals are very different. I
- 18:39Speaker 1: wouldn't mind disemboweling Oscar Pistorius with his own bladed legs
- 18:42Speaker 1: after hearing about and running over that dog. I've enjoyed
- 18:45Speaker 1: your show up until now, but I'm done and out
- 18:48Speaker 1: word of advice. People are perpetual shit bags and nobody
- 18:52Speaker 1: cares what happens to them, So stick to that topic
- 18:54Speaker 1: and leave the animal abuse out. Okay, man, Listen James
- 19:03Speaker 1: a couple things he's right about the dogs. And I
- 19:07Speaker 1: had this exact experience last night when I was watching Signs,
- 19:12Speaker 1: the beginning of the movie with the German shepherd. I
- 19:15Speaker 1: just literally I was thinking about it. I was like,
- 19:18Speaker 1: why does this make me feel so fucking bad? I
- 19:20Speaker 1: can watch humans get disemboweled as as our friend James
- 19:24Speaker 1: here says all day long and horror movies and fucking
- 19:27Speaker 1: mafia and whatever, and like, you know, I see a
- 19:29Speaker 1: dog die and I'm like, oh God, I'm shutting the
- 19:31Speaker 1: shit off. So he's right about that, and but he's
- 19:36Speaker 1: not right about First of all, the show does not
- 19:40Speaker 1: prove that no one is innocent. Certainly people are innocent.
- 19:45Speaker 1: Everybody sins and everyone deserves forgiveness everyone, full stop. And
- 19:52Speaker 1: just I mean, James, you're very angry man. People are
- 19:56Speaker 1: not perpetual ship bags uh, and people do care what
- 20:00Speaker 1: happens to other people. A lot of empathy in this world,
- 20:04Speaker 1: a lot of love and light. Man, it just conquers
- 20:10Speaker 1: the dark. And I hope James Doyle you get in
- 20:13Speaker 1: touch with that light. All right, let's move on. Let's
- 20:17Speaker 1: do some more angry for angry for Facebook angry angry.
- 20:21Speaker 1: We need something that's cleansing here. Let's see what Brian
- 20:25Speaker 1: Metz has to say. Hey, Jake, been with you since
- 20:27Speaker 1: season three. You want to thank you for all the
- 20:28Speaker 1: work you put into making my work day more pleasurable.
- 20:31Speaker 1: I consume everything Disgrace Land twenty Seven'club bad Lands, Dead
- 20:34Speaker 1: and Gone, etc. I love it all. I was wondering
- 20:36Speaker 1: if you have ever considered covering Lane Stay. You have
- 20:39Speaker 1: a knack of really getting into the depth of the
- 20:40Speaker 1: subject and would love to get his story through the
- 20:42Speaker 1: eyes of Jake Brennan. I really deep dive Lane and
- 20:45Speaker 1: still feel like so much of a story is still
- 20:47Speaker 1: a mistakes for probably do brother. All right, Brian Metz, Well, listen,
- 20:50Speaker 1: another thing that I was actually thinking about last night.
- 20:55Speaker 1: I've mentioned to you guys in previous episode about this
- 20:58Speaker 1: treasure trove of music videos that I found on the
- 21:01Speaker 1: Samsung TV Plus app. There's this ninety station and last night.
- 21:06Speaker 1: Now it's become this thing with my wife and I do.
- 21:08Speaker 1: We just watched music videos like it's fucking nineteen ninety four.
- 21:11Speaker 1: That's all we do. It's kind of fucking awesome, and
- 21:14Speaker 1: we just calm. We call it Beavis and butt heading.
- 21:17Speaker 1: We just like comment on the videos and make ourselves laugh.
- 21:20Speaker 1: We're not trying to do it. It's just this natural, innate
- 21:23Speaker 1: instinct that we learned as kids. It just comes out
- 21:25Speaker 1: of us. And Alison Chain's video came on and my
- 21:29Speaker 1: wife was cringing. My wife. My wife hates the aside
- 21:33Speaker 1: from Nirvana, she can't stand any of the Seattle grunge stuff.
- 21:38Speaker 1: She fucking despises, like that whole thing that Eddie vedder
- 21:43Speaker 1: Lane stately thing. So I was like, you know, people
- 21:47Speaker 1: request this a lot, they request an episode on this, Dude,
- 21:49Speaker 1: I think I'm gonna do it, And she was just
- 21:50Speaker 1: like completely not interested. So that of course makes me
- 21:54Speaker 1: more interested, just so I could fuck with her and
- 21:56Speaker 1: be blasting alis In Chains all week while I'm researching it. So, Brian,
- 22:01Speaker 1: I think I think your answers are going to your
- 22:03Speaker 1: your question is going to be answered here and we're
- 22:05Speaker 1: gonna get into analys and chains, saying pretty damn soon,
- 22:08Speaker 1: Let's do one more here. I'm gonna flip over to
- 22:13Speaker 1: the Twitter machine for a second. Stay with me, people,
- 22:18Speaker 1: stay with me.
- 22:20Speaker 4: All right?
- 22:20Speaker 1: Running May nine on Twitter says, after listening to the
- 22:24Speaker 1: Tom Petty episode, I highly recommend this and it's Wildflowers
- 22:27Speaker 1: by Tom Petty. Let's keep moving here. At Willow Raven Rights,
- 22:34Speaker 1: what are your favorite music related YouTube series? And response
- 22:38Speaker 1: to that Whosker Mood excuse me? In response to that

- 23:17Speaker 1: the moment. Anyways, Right now, I'm gonna drink some more
- 23:19Speaker 1: tea and I will be back after this. So the
- 23:36Speaker 1: recommendations part. This is the recommendation's part, the part where
- 23:39Speaker 1: we recommend the things that need recommending, the recommendations part.
- 23:42Speaker 1: All right, what I'm reading, what I'm listening to, and
- 23:45Speaker 1: what music content I am watching. As we laid down
- 23:47Speaker 1: the New World Order last week, you guys know that
- 23:50Speaker 1: what I'm watching for movies and for television, that's all
- 23:53Speaker 1: happening over in the Wrap Party bonus episode. Now in
- 23:55Speaker 1: the bad Lands Feed. Get over there and subscribe. And
- 23:59Speaker 1: if you have movie your tv Rex, you can still
- 24:01Speaker 1: call me. In fact, I encourage you to call me.
- 24:03Speaker 1: Six one seven nine. There were six six sixty three
- 24:05Speaker 1: eight with your movie and tv Rex. We got a
- 24:07Speaker 1: bunch of new calls in I appreciate it. A lot
- 24:10Speaker 1: of those will be answered, those voicemails, those texts in
- 24:13Speaker 1: the bad Lands Fee. You got to get this bad
- 24:14Speaker 1: Lands conversation cooking like this, yere disgrace and convo cooks.
- 24:18Speaker 1: All right, back to my recommendations for music related content
- 24:22Speaker 1: that I'm watching. I told you guys about the Samsung
- 24:24Speaker 1: TV app again. I swear they're not sponsoring the show.
- 24:29Speaker 1: I'm just kind of addicted to the video. The music
- 24:32Speaker 1: video channels on that there's two, there's an eight three.
- 24:34Speaker 1: Actually there's an eighties one, a nineties one in a
- 24:36Speaker 1: rock one. They're called like excite xite Eighties, Excite nineties.
- 24:44Speaker 1: So I've been watching the hell out of it. And Hey,
- 24:47Speaker 1: I don't know if I've ever told you guys this,
- 24:49Speaker 1: but the song easy Lover by Philip Bailey and Phil
- 24:53Speaker 1: Collins is my fucking jam. I love this song. I
- 24:58Speaker 1: listened to it almost every week. This is kind of
- 25:01Speaker 1: a new thing. It's about it's about twelve months old,
- 25:04Speaker 1: maybe two years old. Actually, you know, the sun's out,
- 25:07Speaker 1: windows down. I'm going to that song. I don't know why.
- 25:10Speaker 1: I know why. It's fucking great. It's a great song,
- 25:13Speaker 1: great great song. Shees an easy love, you know what
- 25:18Speaker 1: I'm talking about. So we're watching this video channel the
- 25:22Speaker 1: other night and this video comes on Philip Bailey and
- 25:25Speaker 1: Phil Collins. My god, I was so fucking excited, and
- 25:31Speaker 1: it's the video is so much cheesier than I could
- 25:34Speaker 1: have hoped for. First of all, just the fact that
- 25:37Speaker 1: Phil Collins was a major pop star is mind blowing
- 25:40Speaker 1: to me. I mean, I get it, talent coming out
- 25:42Speaker 1: the wazoo, But who went, oh yeah, we're gonna take
- 25:45Speaker 1: the drummer from Genesis and make him a pop star.
- 25:50Speaker 1: I'm at Urkin, that's who. And it worked. But Philip Bailey,
- 25:53Speaker 1: I never knew Philip Bailey was the singer for Earth
- 25:55Speaker 1: Wind and Fire. I thought Philip Bailey was like some young, hot,
- 25:59Speaker 1: like up and coming dude, who you know. Phil Collins
- 26:03Speaker 1: was given a break to for whatever reason, as like
- 26:06Speaker 1: a favorite Ahmed or something.
- 26:08Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 26:08Speaker 1: We had this whole career in the seventies singing for
- 26:11Speaker 1: Earth Wind and Fire. No wonder he's throwing fucking high
- 26:14Speaker 1: Heat and easy Lover. He's crushing it. But the video,
- 26:18Speaker 1: the video is amazing because they're in it and they're
- 26:21Speaker 1: being goofy, and the song's great, and that's awesome. But
- 26:25Speaker 1: someone fucking got the horrible slash amazing idea to use
- 26:32Speaker 1: the vocal audio of them singing during the filming of
- 26:36Speaker 1: the video the harmonies, and then to overlay that on
- 26:41Speaker 1: the actual audio album track that plays under the video.
- 26:46Speaker 1: It makes absolutely no sense, but it's fucking so dumb.
- 26:50Speaker 1: It's cool. And the other thing, there's actually a point
- 26:53Speaker 1: too where they're just like in the middle of the
- 26:55Speaker 1: video where they're like they're rehearsing for the video. It's
- 27:01Speaker 1: kind of meta. There's like they're talking, and they put
- 27:04Speaker 1: that in the videos too, right over the track, right
- 27:07Speaker 1: over the track. It's fucking great. Google Easy Lover by
- 27:11Speaker 1: Philip Bailey one L P H I L I P.
- 27:14Speaker 1: Bailey and Phil Collins, and uh, let me know what
- 27:18Speaker 1: you think, America, it's fucking great. I love I love
- 27:23Speaker 1: this song and the video does not disappoint. I finally
- 27:27Speaker 1: get to watch David Johansson's Personality Crisis one night only
- 27:30Speaker 1: on Showtime. That's Scorsese and his buddy. They're directed. Damn good,
- 27:35Speaker 1: really great. And then that sent me back for what
- 27:38Speaker 1: I'm listening to. It sent me to the self titled
- 27:41Speaker 1: David Johanson album, the one with Funky but Chic on it.
- 27:45Speaker 1: It's just a great fucking record. This is a This
- 27:48Speaker 1: record came to me late. I'm not gonna pretend I've
- 27:49Speaker 1: been into this record for decades. I haven't. It's probably
- 27:51Speaker 1: been about ten, No, not even that long five years
- 27:54Speaker 1: maybe awesome album? What am I reading? I've told you
- 27:58Speaker 1: this already. It's it's the Warren Zan's book. You know this,
- 28:02Speaker 1: deliver me from nowhere. We're gonna get into this fully
- 28:04Speaker 1: next week with when Warren comes on the on the
- 28:06Speaker 1: pod here the after party. Guys, your recommendations, I need them.
- 28:12Speaker 1: Six one seven nine, there were six six, six three eight.
- 28:15Speaker 1: Maybe perhaps some book recommendations, you know, you know, fuck that.
- 28:18Speaker 1: I want eighties and nineties music video recommendations. All right,
- 28:24Speaker 1: get on YouTube and after you subscribe to Disgraceland YouTube
- 28:28Speaker 1: dot com, slash at Disgraceland pod search some eighties and
- 28:32Speaker 1: nineties music videos that that fire up the old nostalgia
- 28:36Speaker 1: machine for you. And uh, let me know which ones
- 28:38Speaker 1: you love and we'll talk about them here. All right.
- 28:40Speaker 1: I'm gonna take a quick break. I'll be back in
