Transcript
- 0:00You have arrived. Welcome to the Aspy world.
- 0:04Here's where we talk about anything and everything ASD in
- 0:07an upbeat and informative way. And now here's your man on the
- 0:11spectrum, your autism ambassador, Daniel Morgan Jones.
- 0:19Guys, one of the interesting things is I was talking to one
- 0:21of my friends about this and I was talking about problems and
- 0:23how in life we we don't have an opportunity to pick and choose
- 0:28problems typically in our life. Now, if you want big action in
- 0:32your life, if you want big goals and you have to take big steps
- 0:36or massive attack or action towards the goal, if you're a
- 0:39big life, if you want big outcomes, you have to take big
- 0:41actions, big attacks on the things that you want to do in
- 0:45life. But how do you do this?
- 0:46The best thing to do is get your mind in a mind frame that you
- 0:49know that you can solve things as and when you need to.
- 0:52How can you do this? Very simply, think about this, A
- 0:55person who is having trouble in life doesn't have enough
- 0:58problems. The devil makes work for idle
- 1:00hands. When we are sitting stagnant,
- 1:02when we are idle and we're doing nothing, we are not progressing,
- 1:04we're not moving forward through space, we're not attaining new
- 1:06goals because we're not experiencing problems.
- 1:08The Buddha once said a man who has 10 friends has 10 problems
- 1:11because a life without friends is a life with no problems.
- 1:14But what is a life like without friends?
- 1:16It's absolute garbage. We need friends because we want
- 1:18that like group dynamic. The other thing about it is that
- 1:22if we're stood still, yes, we're not going to come across
- 1:24problems or anything negative in our life, but we're stood still.
- 1:26We're not going anywhere. We need to improve.
- 1:28Practice makes progress. We're never going to hit the
- 1:30state perfect because it doesn't exist, but we will progress.
- 1:33And if you're moving through space, you're going to come
- 1:34across problems. So this is what I challenge you
- 1:36to do. If you want a bigger life, if
- 1:38you want to start changing our mindset to realizing that you
- 1:40can overcome anything, think about this.
- 1:42Think about 5 problems is that you can create in your mind
- 1:44fictitious and think about five ways you can solve them.
- 1:47And this is the mindset you want to go through.
- 1:49If I said to you now, oh, I've stubbed my toe and I've broken
- 1:53my toe, right, what can I do? So the problem is I've stubbed
- 1:56my toe and I can't run and I can't drive a car, right?
- 2:01So what is the alternative? What do I need to do?
- 2:03The solution is I'll strap my toes together.
- 2:05I'll go get an X-ray, make sure that though fragments of bone
- 2:08are going into my bloodstream and I'll take some pain
- 2:10medication and I'll take the advice to the doctor.
- 2:12But in the meantime, guess what? This problem has opened a
- 2:15floodgate of opportunity. I no longer can run.
- 2:17So the time that I would, you know, that hour or so, I would
- 2:19have gone out running. Now I can spend an hour on a new
- 2:22project of mine or writing my book or writing in my diary or
- 2:24learning a new skill or researching or joining a course
- 2:27and doing a one hour course every single day for the next
- 2:29two weeks, two months, whatever it is to recover and repair your
- 2:32foot. Now also, Oh, I can't drive.
- 2:35OK, that means now I have to take public transport with the
- 2:37public transport means there's two things.
- 2:38One, an expense. So hey, maybe I have to find
- 2:41another way to create a little bit of extra income.
- 2:43Could be a side hustle. That could be a good way of
- 2:45educating myself to pay for the bus or an Uber or whatever.
- 2:48But also I meet new people. I'm on the bus, I'm speaking to
- 2:50new people. Maybe there's an opportunity
- 2:52there. You know, the Buddha or the
- 2:53Dalai Lama actually said that when we speak, we hear words we
- 2:56already know, but when we listen, we have the ability to
- 2:58learn something new. We are always in the state of
- 3:00learning, in the state of optimism, and we should take
- 3:02every opportunity, good and bad, assume responsibility for the
- 3:05good things and the bad things in in your life.
- 3:07Take those on board because when you do that, you stop becoming a
- 3:09victim. You become a person who knows
- 3:11exactly what they're going to do in life.
- 3:12You're going to create a bigger reality means you're going to
- 3:14increase affinity and you're also going to increase your
- 3:17communication skills and your level of communicating with the
- 3:20universe as a whole. Your life will increase towards
- 3:23its potential. You will urge yourself towards
- 3:24existence. Guys, if you want in on more
