- 0:00Speaker 1: This is it the final FT Live postgame show presented
- 0:04Speaker 1: by Fox One. Congratulations to the twenty twenty five World
- 0:09Speaker 1: Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers, back to back champs for
- 0:14Speaker 1: the first time in a quarter century. And here it
- 0:18Speaker 1: is the last out of the game, the last two
- 0:21Speaker 1: little double play. Alejandro Kirk had a shot to at
- 0:25Speaker 1: least keep this thing going, perhaps with a sack fly,
- 0:28Speaker 1: but instead two out done deal Scotty Brown Aircrafts Trevor.
- 0:32Speaker 2: May, Wow, wow, wow.
- 0:34Speaker 1: Baseball is a ridiculously entertaining sport, Trevor.
- 0:37Speaker 2: That was fun.
- 0:39Speaker 1: Let's do opening statements.
- 0:43Speaker 3: Oh I'm I'm exhausted and I'm on the West Coast,
- 0:48Speaker 3: So I can't imagine how you guys are feeling this
- 0:50Speaker 3: play these these this postseason.
- 0:53Speaker 2: It's absolutely one for the ages. I can't.
- 0:58Speaker 3: I'd like, I don't have a team in this thing,
- 1:01Speaker 3: and myard has been pounding for it feels like a month.
- 1:03Speaker 3: So uh but but that the inevitable team ended up
- 1:08Speaker 3: being inevitable, it turns out, and I mean, you just
- 1:12Speaker 3: you got to put them away. You have to, like,
- 1:14Speaker 3: they're not going to give it to you. You got to
- 1:15Speaker 3: take it from him. And I thought I thought the
- 1:18Speaker 3: Jays had them, But here we are back to back
- 1:21Speaker 3: first time in what twenty thirty years?
- 1:25Speaker 1: About a quarter century? Yep, crazy krats. We'll go to
- 1:29Speaker 1: Miggy Roe. Second, let's actually start with will Smith because
- 1:32Speaker 1: without that homer, we probably are still watching baseball and
- 1:36Speaker 1: not doing this postgame show right now. Will Smith dinger
- 1:39Speaker 1: hit a big dinger earlier in this series as well.
- 1:42Speaker 1: He also caught the entire World Series. So as a
- 1:45Speaker 1: Feller catcher, how impressed are you with what he was
- 1:49Speaker 1: able to pull off an extras here?
- 1:51Speaker 4: I mean, this is why he's one of the best,
- 1:53Speaker 4: if not the best catcher in baseball for the last
- 1:56Speaker 4: few years. Cal got him this year. I get it.
- 1:59Speaker 4: But those short arms, he never does too much. He
- 2:03Speaker 4: puts himself in a position. Can you make pitches to him?
- 2:06Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 2:06Speaker 4: Absolutely, But he got a heater against Gosman early in
- 2:10Speaker 4: the series, Game two. This is a hanging curveball, spinner
- 2:15Speaker 4: slider thing from Shane Bieber. Wasn't wasn't his best pitch
- 2:19Speaker 4: clipped him like just consistent, no flash, always out there.
- 2:26Speaker 4: Probably probably a year in year out, He's going to
- 2:29Speaker 4: be one of your top three catchers each year. I
- 2:31Speaker 4: mean this year, I think he was at one point
- 2:32Speaker 4: he was hitting like three seventy with runners in scoring
- 2:35Speaker 4: position while his average was declining. He's playing through the
- 2:39Speaker 4: hand wrist thing. Incredible for him to come up with
- 2:42Speaker 4: this huge.
- 2:42Speaker 1: Hit and Trevor, I'm going to have to rethink the
- 2:46Speaker 1: way that we evaluate pitching, because apparently you can pitch
- 2:50Speaker 1: every day. Yoshi no Vyamamoto had complete games in back
- 2:56Speaker 1: to back outings and then only went six innings and
- 2:58Speaker 1: ninety six pitches in Game six. That helped the Dodgers
- 3:01Speaker 1: pull off a dub and get to this Game seven
- 3:03Speaker 1: and then oh he pops up again and pitches the
- 3:06Speaker 1: Dodgers to victory. Incredible performance.
- 3:09Speaker 3: Yeah, mad bum who like that was? That was incredible?
- 3:13Speaker 3: Especially with what his stuff was after pitching yesterday. I
- 3:18Speaker 3: like his command was still great. I think the first
- 3:21Speaker 3: pitch he threw was a ninety three mini on our splitter,
- 3:23Speaker 3: like the hardest one he's thrown the whole time. And
- 3:26Speaker 3: after going CG after CG in and it's November, like
- 3:30Speaker 3: just I there is a a depth you have to
- 3:34Speaker 3: dig down to get that that you don't know is
- 3:38Speaker 3: there until you're in this. So we We truly saw
- 3:42Speaker 3: everyone that not one guy on either team has anything
- 3:45Speaker 3: left in the tank. It was it was such a
- 3:47Speaker 3: great series, but uh Yama was speechless. I couldn't He
- 3:52Speaker 3: couldn't pitch any better. There is not a better mode
- 3:55Speaker 3: I think than that.
- 3:56Speaker 1: The document has all of their starters to crafts by
- 3:59Speaker 1: the way, go ahead.
- 4:00Speaker 4: Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, they threw all of their starters
- 4:03Speaker 4: in game seven. That's incredible. But I was I made
- 4:06Speaker 4: a joke last night Trevor about how they took him
- 4:08Speaker 4: out at ninety six pitches. I was fully on board.
- 4:11Speaker 4: I thought he was gonna throw one hundred and twenty
- 4:13Speaker 4: plus because he had thrown Game six in the knee
- 4:16Speaker 4: pon final the World Series two years ago, where he
- 4:21Speaker 4: won one hundred and thirty eight pitches. I thought last night,
- 4:23Speaker 4: is gonna go won twenty? Was Dave Roberts thinking ahead?
- 4:26Speaker 4: Was Dave Roberts like, we got this. I'm taking him
- 4:29Speaker 4: out at ninety six because we might throw him again
- 4:33Speaker 4: tomorrow night.
- 4:35Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 4:35Speaker 3: I think he was just like, oh no, he is
- 4:37Speaker 3: limits won thirty six. We're just saving forty for tomorrow
- 4:41Speaker 3: because it's we're guaranteed to need it.
- 4:43Speaker 2: We're throwing everybody, and they did.
- 4:47Speaker 3: I mean, all hands on deck is what you are
- 4:51Speaker 3: you hear when you go to a playoff series, especially
- 4:53Speaker 3: as relievers, like guys they usually go out there in
- 4:55Speaker 3: the fourth inning, you got your cleats on in the
- 4:56Speaker 3: first whatever, But this is like every single guy, every
- 5:00Speaker 3: single night, and that's just not something you get used
- 5:02Speaker 3: to as a starter. So, uh, you know, hats often
- 5:04Speaker 3: not only them, but like the Blue Jays did it,
- 5:08Speaker 3: the Mirrors did it in their series, like everybody did
- 5:11Speaker 3: it in this postseason, all the all the starters like bullpens,
- 5:15Speaker 3: we can do them in the game.
- 5:16Speaker 2: And that's crazy, it's crazy.
- 5:20Speaker 1: The Dodgers needed it, right, I mean, that was the
- 5:23Speaker 1: week point for LA and the way that you can
- 5:26Speaker 1: overcome that is to use them starters. Hey, the Dodgers
- 5:29Speaker 1: has done it before. I know he's not a great
- 5:31Speaker 1: name anymore, but Julio Rees did some big things for
- 5:35Speaker 1: the Dodgers back in the day in twenty twenty when
- 5:37Speaker 1: they won the World Series. But anyway, getting back Toyamamoto,
- 5:40Speaker 1: so it was two and two thirds, Trevor, It's thirty
- 5:42Speaker 1: four pitches after throwing together ninety six and six innings,
- 5:46Speaker 1: So you're right, whatever that math is. Christ that's right,
- 5:52Speaker 1: one thirty over two days, No big deal. Yeah tomorrow, unreal, unreal.
- 5:58Speaker 1: All right, let's get to Miguel Rojas Aeric Kratz because
- 6:01Speaker 1: Dave Roberts eventually said, I have to do something different.
- 6:04Speaker 1: In a couple games ago, he says, Okay, Miguel Rojas
- 6:08Speaker 1: is my selection. I'm gonna put him over there at
- 6:10Speaker 1: second base. I'm gonna put him in the nine spot.
- 6:13Speaker 1: Just feel like he can create some action. He's been there, he's.
- 6:15Speaker 2: A blue guy.
- 6:16Speaker 1: Let's not forget what he did in game six defensively,
- 6:20Speaker 1: and then of course also include what happened here in
- 6:23Speaker 1: game seven.
- 6:24Speaker 4: I mean, where do you start? Where do you start?
- 6:26Speaker 4: The play? The play where he dove backwards to then
- 6:29Speaker 4: get ikf at the plate, like the game doesn't even happen,
- 6:33Speaker 4: He doesn't even hit the home run, like that play
- 6:36Speaker 4: alone is a game saving play. And then he hits
- 6:39Speaker 4: the game tying home run in the ninth inning. We
- 6:43Speaker 4: were talking about it, we were watching the game together
- 6:45Speaker 4: on this before the before the show came on.
- 6:49Speaker 1: Hold up, crats on everything you real quick, because you
- 6:51Speaker 1: flipped him. He did that Top nine was the dang
- 6:53Speaker 1: or bottom nine. He got ikf to keep this thing rolling.
- 6:57Speaker 2: Oh that's right.
- 6:58Speaker 4: I thought it was the eight.
- 7:01Speaker 1: Just so they don't come after you. I got you back.
- 7:03Speaker 1: But that was in the ninth, top and then.
- 7:06Speaker 4: I appreciate that.
- 7:07Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, it's even bigger.
- 7:09Speaker 4: Like we were talking about it, like, how did the Dodgers,
- 7:12Speaker 4: the Dodgers vaunted lineup, vaunted pitching stamp, whatever it is,
- 7:16Speaker 4: how do they not have somebody better than Miguil Rojas
- 7:19Speaker 4: to hit in that spot, Like you look at the
- 7:21Speaker 4: entire bench and you're like nobody, and then Danger tied
- 7:27Speaker 4: it up that it's it's incredible. I mean it's it's
- 7:32Speaker 4: the oh man, I'm forgetting his name. Now we're blanking
- 7:36Speaker 4: out Roger Davis moment against against Chapman, like incredible, incredible,
- 7:43Speaker 4: I mean, street.
- 7:44Speaker 2: They don't build back it.
- 7:47Speaker 1: That's the thing. Two extra base hits in twenty one
- 7:49Speaker 1: postseason games for Miguel Rojas, a home run for the
- 7:52Speaker 1: Marlins and the twenty twenty NLDS versus Atlanta, and that
- 7:56Speaker 1: and the previous one was big too. Jason Stark said,
- 7:58Speaker 1: we've never seen that World Series Game seven, never seen
- 8:01Speaker 1: that moment that tying home run and the ninth inning
- 8:04Speaker 1: like that. There's been some walkoff moments in the World Series.
- 8:07Speaker 1: There's also been a lot of World Series.
- 8:09Speaker 2: What was this.
- 8:09Speaker 1: This was the one hundred and twenty first World series
- 8:12Speaker 1: we've ever seen, Trevor, So there's been some pretty good history.
- 8:16Speaker 1: We've got a long book at this point, and this
- 8:18Speaker 1: is one of the all timers. This is seven game
- 8:20Speaker 1: series that goes into extras. Incredible. We had obviously the
- 8:24Speaker 1: eighteen inning game earlier in this series, but just focusing
- 8:27Speaker 1: on how entertaining Game seven was and how resilient the
- 8:32Speaker 1: Dodgers were they've been in these spots before. What about
- 8:35Speaker 1: the managing job by Dave Roberts throughout this game. We
- 8:39Speaker 1: could maybe point to show Hao Tani not looking like
- 8:43Speaker 1: he had his secondary stuff and taking him out for
- 8:46Speaker 1: someone else and maybe even going to glass now earlier
- 8:49Speaker 1: in the game. But other than that, manager chess perfection.
- 8:54Speaker 3: Yeah, you got to just roll with it until something happens.
- 8:58Speaker 2: Maybe one bat or too long.
- 8:59Speaker 3: But you know, if you're thinking about throwing your whole
- 9:02Speaker 3: starting staff, like you gotta get as many, you don't
- 9:04Speaker 3: want to start off by pulling a guy earlier than
- 9:06Speaker 3: you thought you were gonna pull them and then let
- 9:08Speaker 3: those dominoes not fall the way you want them to fall.
- 9:12Speaker 3: So like you know that that it's a good hitting team,
- 9:16Speaker 3: Like something was gonna happen, a run was gonna be scored.
- 9:18Speaker 3: So uh, they put the guys after him, gave him
- 9:22Speaker 3: a chance to win, and then they just warm them down,
- 9:24Speaker 3: like you gotta we gotta also give like Max Munsey
- 9:27Speaker 3: Pross for getting you savage there because two runs and one,
- 9:30Speaker 3: the difference between those two and one in that situation
- 9:33Speaker 3: is massive, and it was kind of like everyone's like, okay,
- 9:36Speaker 3: he's okay, it's okay, but like no, it's a one
- 9:38Speaker 3: run game. Now their pressure way up and that was
- 9:41Speaker 3: that was huge. And he's another guy. He could go
- 9:43Speaker 3: oh for fifty yet you'll still be like he could
- 9:46Speaker 3: clip me in any moment, right Like that. That's the
- 9:48Speaker 3: way they are. That's the way the Dodgers are. They
- 9:51Speaker 3: all do. They do the little things right. They played
- 9:53Speaker 3: defense well, they know where to be. They did the
- 9:55Speaker 3: wheel play against the Phillies, like they just they're not
- 9:58Speaker 3: gonna make mental mistakes. They they have the experience and
- 10:01Speaker 3: they take that stuff for the seriously and coming back
- 10:04Speaker 3: to MiG you row. That is one thing you can
- 10:05Speaker 3: count on for him. He is gonna know what the
- 10:08Speaker 3: situation is and what needs to happen, and maybe even
- 10:11Speaker 3: some creative way to get it done that no one
- 10:14Speaker 3: else is thinking about.
- 10:15Speaker 2: That's what he's known for.
- 10:16Speaker 3: And he's not a he might not be a bopper,
- 10:18Speaker 3: and he may not have a lot of red and
- 10:20Speaker 3: his heat maps, but like he's not.
- 10:23Speaker 2: Like fun to throw to. He's annoying. He can be annoying.
- 10:26Speaker 3: He'll he's scrappy and he can be and that's exactly
- 10:29Speaker 3: what he was up there trying to do. Just just
- 10:30Speaker 3: be annoying, get on base any way you can. And
- 10:32Speaker 3: he just got one he can handle, which I think
- 10:34Speaker 3: he probably was maybe a little bit less surprised than
- 10:37Speaker 3: everybody else, but he's probably pretty surprised too.
- 10:40Speaker 1: There's another big play I want to get too quick
- 10:42Speaker 1: reminder to everyone. If you're watching now Live, or you're
- 10:45Speaker 1: watching in the morning, or you're a Dodger fan and
- 10:48Speaker 1: you're partying all night and then eventually maybe you've had
- 10:50Speaker 1: some beverages and then you click us on at like
- 10:53Speaker 1: five in the morning, press is subscribe. That would be
- 10:56Speaker 1: great that's all we ask baseball the way it should
- 10:59Speaker 1: be covered here on FT Scotty Brown Aircrats Trevor May,
- 11:02Speaker 1: Let's keep rolling, Okay, Kratz, I have to get this
- 11:04Speaker 1: to this one next on my list, bottom nine. As
- 11:07Speaker 1: you mentioned, Miguel Rojas makes a great play to get
- 11:10Speaker 1: the out at home. The final out in the bottom
- 11:13Speaker 1: of the ninth inning required Andy Payes entering the game.
- 11:19Speaker 1: And we joked about this when it happened. If anyone
- 11:22Speaker 1: played the game five hundred growing up, and there was
- 11:25Speaker 1: that kid that was taller than everyone else and caught
- 11:27Speaker 1: the baseball because he was just larger and would put
- 11:30Speaker 1: his club up, and you're like, damn, eventually I'll grow
- 11:33Speaker 1: That was Andy Pajes and Kika Hernandez colliding and Andy
- 11:37Speaker 1: pie is coming up with a baseball that saves the day.
- 11:41Speaker 4: I mean, like, I plea forgot about that play and
- 11:44Speaker 4: we even talked about it, like you and he just
- 11:48Speaker 4: came in the game. I don't know if you just
- 11:49Speaker 4: mentioned that, but he just came in the game like
- 11:52Speaker 4: he is a true center fielder that will probably win
- 11:56Speaker 4: a Gold Glove this year, and he was sitting out
- 11:58Speaker 4: because he forgot to bring his bats to the postseason,
- 12:02Speaker 4: and he gets entered into the game and goes, boys,
- 12:05Speaker 4: I got a lot of energy. I haven't played in
- 12:07Speaker 4: the last two games. I'm getting after everything, and he
- 12:10Speaker 4: went Kelly Leak style on the outfield.
- 12:16Speaker 2: He reminded me. He reminded me of the.
- 12:20Speaker 3: Seventeen year old at the All Star at the home
- 12:23Speaker 3: run derby among all the eleven year olds, just like
- 12:26Speaker 3: I got it, just taking all the balls. That's what
- 12:28Speaker 3: it reminded me of.
- 12:30Speaker 1: Oh that is we gotta describe this though, Kratz describe
- 12:35Speaker 1: Trevor what you're seeing for the podcast crowd later.
- 12:39Speaker 3: I mean, is that just a guy getting hit by
- 12:41Speaker 3: a massive Harry barrel? I guess that's what that is.
- 12:45Speaker 2: Just rolling down a hill, guy gets destroyed.
- 12:49Speaker 4: Bet MGM for that tweet of Pie is running over Kik.
- 12:54Speaker 4: He said, You're gonna keep playing in all these games,
- 12:58Speaker 4: not today. I'm getting this ball. I mean that's how
- 13:00Speaker 4: the game could have ended. The game could have ended
- 13:02Speaker 4: on that, like the game could have ended on making
- 13:04Speaker 4: Rose play the game like there.
- 13:06Speaker 1: Wait crads many that that was the MVP and World
- 13:12Speaker 1: Series title flipping play right. So Yama Moto was in
- 13:16Speaker 1: the game at that point in the bottom of the
- 13:18Speaker 1: ninth the ball struck off the bat of Ernie Clement,
- 13:23Speaker 1: who ends up with a postseason record for hits, a
- 13:27Speaker 1: postseason record all timer for postseason hits. And I know
- 13:31Speaker 1: there are more postseason games now than there were one
- 13:33Speaker 1: hundred years ago, but we've been playing with some extra
- 13:35Speaker 1: wildcard games for a bit. They weren't a wildcard team anyway.
- 13:39Speaker 1: Look what Ernie Clement did from the Division Series on incredible,
- 13:44Speaker 1: most hits ever in a single postseason, and that could
- 13:47Speaker 1: have been the last one right there. One more knock
- 13:50Speaker 1: that would have done it, and it would have turned
- 13:54Speaker 1: the Yama Moto appearance into him giving that up a
- 13:58Speaker 1: well struck baseball that I would have the World Series
- 14:02Speaker 1: and World Series MVP for him, right Yeah.
- 14:05Speaker 4: Whenever I think about somebody losing an MVP, I think
- 14:07Speaker 4: about Mike Napoli in against the Cardinals. Mike Napoli would
- 14:12Speaker 4: have won it had Nelson CRUs been able to catch
- 14:14Speaker 4: that ball on right field to end the game. Mike
- 14:18Speaker 4: Napoli would have had himself a nice Corvette or whatever
- 14:21Speaker 4: they're giving out right now for the MVP, and the
- 14:25Speaker 4: Rangers would have won their first World Series, the Blue
- 14:28Speaker 4: Jays would have won. Blue Jays would have won their
- 14:31Speaker 4: World Series here and Ernie Clement would have been the MVP.
- 14:35Speaker 4: Like you sit there and you go, how one play
- 14:39Speaker 4: can change like the entire course of a series, a season,
- 14:45Speaker 4: a career for Ernie Clement. That's crazy.
- 14:51Speaker 2: Yeah, thanks, switch on a dime.
- 14:53Speaker 3: It went from having a statue of Ernie Clement in
- 14:56Speaker 3: front of the stadium to well as the release I'm
- 15:00Speaker 3: gonna throw my heart out there. No one's gonna no
- 15:02Speaker 3: one's gonna forgive Jeff Hoffman anytime soon. And that stinks
- 15:06Speaker 3: for him. But that is the that is the life
- 15:09Speaker 3: of closing baseball games. And uh, you know you got
- 15:12Speaker 3: to be the closer in the in the World Series
- 15:14Speaker 3: is you got to still do the job there too,
- 15:16Speaker 3: So it's you know, it's but it were one pitch
- 15:19Speaker 3: away either way, right, it could be all smiles or
- 15:22Speaker 3: the absolute devastating, most devastating loss. We saw the footage
- 15:26Speaker 3: of Laddie with tears in his eyes, you know, going
- 15:30Speaker 3: down into the tunnel and like up until you know,
- 15:34Speaker 3: thirty or thirty seconds or a minute earlier, they thought
- 15:38Speaker 3: they were gonna win, like they they believed it, truly
- 15:41Speaker 3: believed it. They it was, it was solid in their head.
- 15:45Speaker 3: And then it just was over and you look up like, oh,
- 15:48Speaker 3: the game's over. Oh the season's over. We just go
- 15:50Speaker 3: home now, and guess what we do that? And that's
- 15:53Speaker 3: the that's that's baseball. Like seven months, seven and a
- 15:57Speaker 3: half months, you get to the final and it's you
- 16:01Speaker 3: just go home.
- 16:04Speaker 1: Wow, man, look at the photo on the screen. That's
- 16:07Speaker 1: the Dodgers celebrating. That's incredible. Incredible. Hey, pitchingmen's ballgames, Trevor.
- 16:14Speaker 1: And the one thing that stood out with the Dodgers
- 16:15Speaker 1: for sure, of course, was the starting staff that they
- 16:19Speaker 1: assembled this year. And the big difference between this year's
- 16:21Speaker 1: team and last year's team was the starting staff. I mean,
- 16:25Speaker 1: they had four aces and they breezed through the NLCS
- 16:29Speaker 1: against the Brewers. That was incredible, right, And they ran
- 16:32Speaker 1: into some trouble against a Blue Jays team that clearly
- 16:35Speaker 1: looked like the best team in the American League and
- 16:38Speaker 1: gave a lot more trouble to LA. I mean, we
- 16:40Speaker 1: went a very hearty full seven games. Last year. The
- 16:45Speaker 1: Dodgers have an awesome bullpen and they utilized it as
- 16:48Speaker 1: much as possible. There were even bullpen games in the
- 16:50Speaker 1: World Series. This time around, it's a very different scenario
- 16:53Speaker 1: and this might be part of the way to win
- 16:57Speaker 1: back to back World Series titles. Basically, sweet, you're starting
- 17:01Speaker 1: pitching and bringing new dudes besides Yamamoto, right, he's the
- 17:05Speaker 1: only one from last year that carries on from a
- 17:08Speaker 1: starting pitching perspective. Glass I didn't pitch last year and
- 17:11Speaker 1: the World Series for the Dodgers. Snell wasn't there yet.
- 17:14Speaker 1: Most teams didn't want him, and he pitches for the Dodgers.
- 17:18Speaker 3: It was literally Yamamoto and Flaherty. They had two starting
- 17:22Speaker 3: pitchers last year. Yeah, pretty much. Yeah, and then they
- 17:25Speaker 3: just did openers. And but they had the best bullpen,
- 17:29Speaker 3: so like they have one of they have the best
- 17:31Speaker 3: of either one. But the one interesting thing, I think
- 17:34Speaker 3: we were so surprised by the Brewer stuff because they
- 17:36Speaker 3: just didn't have any bullpen at all, Like they only
- 17:39Speaker 3: had they only had Sasaki, so like we're just, oh,
- 17:43Speaker 3: if they can grind him down, then maybe they have
- 17:46Speaker 3: a shot. And I think the Blue Jays are a
- 17:48Speaker 3: better version of what the how the Brewers operated. And frankly,
- 17:52Speaker 3: I think the Blue Jays probably had the best chance
- 17:55Speaker 3: to take them down just because of the nature of
- 17:57Speaker 3: their offense.
- 17:57Speaker 2: When they won games, they won by scoring ten runs.
- 18:00Speaker 3: And uh, they did exactly what I thought they would
- 18:03Speaker 3: do and everyone else thought they would do.
- 18:04Speaker 2: If they got to the bullpen.
- 18:05Speaker 3: They I think the Dodgers allowed last at last count,
- 18:09Speaker 3: and this was halfway through yesterday. They had allowed thirteen
- 18:14Speaker 3: inherited runners to score the bullpen in this series. So
- 18:17Speaker 3: they got to the bullpen and it was working, and
- 18:20Speaker 3: then Yamo to shut that down yesterday and they throw
- 18:24Speaker 3: all the starters today and that's how they ended up
- 18:26Speaker 3: getting it. Like without that though without honestly, without a
- 18:30Speaker 3: guy like Robleski, like stepping up a little bit in
- 18:35Speaker 3: the last couple of games, like it could have been
- 18:37Speaker 3: a difference.
- 18:38Speaker 2: They just got enough. It's really interesting to see it was.
- 18:42Speaker 3: I think the Blue Jays did everything they could and
- 18:44Speaker 3: they put they put their foot on the gas. It's
- 18:47Speaker 3: just just one pitch, like we mentioned, just one or
- 18:50Speaker 3: two plays and it's a different story.
- 18:53Speaker 4: Plus did everything they could accept runners in scoring position
- 18:59Speaker 4: for what was the final count four for.
- 19:04Speaker 5: Seventeen eighteen seventeen four seventeen fourteen runners left on base
- 19:11Speaker 5: and It's not like we played eighteen innings and they
- 19:13Speaker 5: were you know, majority of their lineup was still out there.
- 19:16Speaker 4: They just didn't quite get that hit. The bases loaded,
- 19:20Speaker 4: ground out, bases loaded in, and the inning groundball double
- 19:24Speaker 4: play at the end of game. There's a lot of
- 19:27Speaker 4: spots and credit to credit to the pitching. Sometimes the
- 19:32Speaker 4: whole runners of scoring position thing and the playoffs is
- 19:34Speaker 4: a little overblown because you're not always like, oh man,
- 19:39Speaker 4: we got to go ahead. We don't want any base
- 19:41Speaker 4: runners like you do kind of pitch around some guys
- 19:43Speaker 4: you make, you find like a week spot in the lineup,
- 19:47Speaker 4: but the Jays really didn't have a week spot in
- 19:49Speaker 4: the lineup. If you look at the batting averages, it
- 19:52Speaker 4: hurts me. In twenty eighteen, we lost to the Dodgers
- 19:55Speaker 4: and the MVP of that series for the Dodgers was
- 20:00Speaker 4: Cody Bellinger, and he hit under two hundred. Like the
- 20:04Speaker 4: Dodgers did not hit very well. The Blue Jays batting
- 20:08Speaker 4: average is amazing. The Dodgers figured out a way to
- 20:11Speaker 4: win because they got big hits in big situations. They
- 20:14Speaker 4: out homered them in this in this game, so you
- 20:19Speaker 4: win if you out homer a team and the big
- 20:23Speaker 4: spots runners left, runners left on base, runners of scoring position.
- 20:28Speaker 4: You can't you can't teach it, you can only practice.
- 20:31Speaker 2: It, Trevor.
- 20:35Speaker 1: It's kind of weird, right, the team that delivered so
- 20:37Speaker 1: many times, the team that had contact and slug going
- 20:42Speaker 1: three for seventeen with runners in scoring position in fourteen
- 20:45Speaker 1: left on base, it's kind of weird. I mean there
- 20:48Speaker 1: were opportunities in Game six as well, but Game seven, man,
- 20:53Speaker 1: there's a lot of spots that this Blue Jays team
- 20:55Speaker 1: is going to look back at. John Schneider is going
- 20:58Speaker 1: to look back at, and all of is going to
- 21:00Speaker 1: look back at. We hadn't seen it title since nineteen
- 21:03Speaker 1: ninety three. They got the full ride, the full experience
- 21:07Speaker 1: from front to back. They won a division title, they
- 21:09Speaker 1: got to buy They had an awesome playoff run, right,
- 21:13Speaker 1: I mean, we saw a ridiculous alcs for them to
- 21:17Speaker 1: get to this point and then they go all the
- 21:19Speaker 1: way to the brink and come up empty. You got
- 21:22Speaker 1: to appreciate the ride and enjoy it, but it still
- 21:24Speaker 1: hurts really badly for anyone that cared about Toronto winning
- 21:28Speaker 1: that series.
- 21:30Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, maybe it's worth you know, our thoughts
- 21:34Speaker 3: are out to the Blue Jays fans that literally just
- 21:38Speaker 3: did that for two series, like day to day feeling incredible,
- 21:43Speaker 3: feeling horrible, and then you got to get the off day,
- 21:46Speaker 3: and there was off days in there that were feeling
- 21:48Speaker 3: great or feeling terrible, and he's like, I wish this
- 21:50Speaker 3: was an off day. Just play the game so I
- 21:52Speaker 3: can know what to feel.
- 21:53Speaker 2: Like.
- 21:54Speaker 3: They just did that the whole time after taking down
- 21:57Speaker 3: the Yankees and the division, like crazy, crazy experience, something
- 22:01Speaker 3: they'll never forget, and it just didn't finish the way
- 22:03Speaker 3: that they wanted to do. But like, yeah, it was
- 22:05Speaker 3: just uncharacteristic too. They've been so good with runners of
- 22:08Speaker 3: scoring position. They've been so good with just stringing hits
- 22:11Speaker 3: together and putting up big, crooked numbers. They're the only
- 22:14Speaker 3: team really in the in this postseason that that constantly
- 22:17Speaker 3: was putting up four or five runs in innings, like
- 22:20Speaker 3: everyone else is just scraping one or two with a
- 22:22Speaker 3: two run homer or something. They were a different type
- 22:24Speaker 3: of team, so it was uncharacteristic. But they faced you know,
- 22:29Speaker 3: a bunch of Cy Youngs or future Cy Youngs in
- 22:31Speaker 3: one game, and so like, you know, you can't what
- 22:36Speaker 3: it's five for seventeen good enough probably, But like at
- 22:39Speaker 3: Hindsight's twenty twenty, I just want like give give Sarah
- 22:42Speaker 3: Langs and Kirkchin two days to comb through all the
- 22:46Speaker 3: stats in this in these games, and I'm sure we're
- 22:48Speaker 3: gonna get some crazy nuggets out there on Twitter.
- 22:52Speaker 1: Well, I'll do this. Let me take you back to
- 22:54Speaker 1: a couple moments that I think we should also bring up,
- 22:57Speaker 1: and they are mostly involved the Toronto side. Here is
- 23:01Speaker 1: if you're just joining us, we spent the first fifteen
- 23:03Speaker 1: or so on the Dodgers are spending a few yere
- 23:06Speaker 1: on what's going on with Toronto right now. First of all,
- 23:09Speaker 1: Krafts some excellent defensive place in this game. Of course,
- 23:12Speaker 1: all season for the Blue Jays. They're one of the
- 23:14Speaker 1: best defensive teams in baseball for the last few years.
- 23:17Speaker 1: Vladie Junior is exceptional. Now over at first base, the
- 23:21Speaker 1: three six' three double play in the top of the.
- 23:24Speaker 1: Seventh he had the great snag in the fourth after
- 23:28Speaker 1: we saw the var show diving catch that did lead
- 23:31Speaker 1: to the, sackfly but that could have been three runs right.
- 23:34Speaker 1: There let's start there on the defense of this. TEAM i,
- 23:38Speaker 1: mean this is a complete. Team this was an all out.
- 23:41Speaker 1: Fight The American league had one team that was best
- 23:44Speaker 1: and it Was toronto and they had a little bit
- 23:47Speaker 1: of everything they.
- 23:48Speaker 4: Did and that was one of my arguments the last
- 23:50Speaker 4: few years was they Had Matt. Chapman they had the
- 23:52Speaker 4: BEST dra in. Baseball and to, me you have the
- 23:56Speaker 4: best dra in baseball from your starters because you have
- 23:59Speaker 4: legit defenders out. There AND i think they were, like,
- 24:02Speaker 4: oh you know, What Matt, chapman you could. Walk, eh
- 24:04Speaker 4: you know, What Brandon, BELT i know you had an
- 24:06Speaker 4: eight to twenty ops for our, team but we're going
- 24:09Speaker 4: to go ahead and let you. WALK i think some
- 24:12Speaker 4: of the front office decisions that they made were. Bad
- 24:15Speaker 4: and then they, said you know, what we're going to
- 24:17Speaker 4: double down on what was really successful for, us and
- 24:21Speaker 4: we're going to add a guy Like Dalton. Varshow Dalon
- 24:23Speaker 4: varshow came over from The. Diamondbacks he's A Platinum glove
- 24:26Speaker 4: winner in center field and he runs the, bases AND
- 24:30Speaker 4: i think the team like kind of followed how he
- 24:33Speaker 4: runs the. Bases he runs the bases like his like
- 24:35Speaker 4: his feeder on. Fire AND i think everybody kind of
- 24:40Speaker 4: encapsulated that they went out and they were, like now
- 24:43Speaker 4: you know, What we're gonna go Get Anthony, santander who
- 24:46Speaker 4: played zero part in This World series most of the.
- 24:50Speaker 4: Season he was, hurt so the move that they made
- 24:53Speaker 4: didn't even come into. Play so it's essentially the same.
- 24:56Speaker 4: Team and then other guys started following. Suit they went
- 24:59Speaker 4: out and Got Andre. Samenez Andre semenez played shortstop for
- 25:04Speaker 4: this team in The World. Series he is A Platinum
- 25:07Speaker 4: glove second baseman and he played. Shortstop so kudos to
- 25:11Speaker 4: the front office for adding those. Guys Addison barger with
- 25:14Speaker 4: an incredible throw one hundred mile an hour gun from right,
- 25:17Speaker 4: field like they just they they found a way to win.
- 25:23Speaker 4: Games that's a little bit outside the. Bubble did they
- 25:27Speaker 4: win games because of the fact that they hit? Homers,
- 25:29Speaker 4: yes score, runs, yes pitch. Yes but they're probably one
- 25:35Speaker 4: of the, most if not the most complete teams In
- 25:39Speaker 4: Major League. Baseball they're not top heavy in one area or.
- 25:42Speaker 4: Another they don't have. ANYBODY i don't know If George
- 25:45Speaker 4: springer would even be top three IN mvp, vote he'd be.
- 25:49Speaker 4: Close but you don't have anybody like that that like
- 25:52Speaker 4: you had to ride the entire season and it's a complete.
- 25:55Speaker 4: Team team got them to this, point and it's gonna
- 26:01Speaker 4: be tough to reload for next year again BECAUSE i
- 26:03Speaker 4: don't know what's gonna happen With. Bashett you don't know
- 26:06Speaker 4: if you can get the same output from different, guys
- 26:09Speaker 4: you're gonna lose some. Pictures it's it's. Tough it's tough
- 26:12Speaker 4: in this moment because you're never ever gonna be with
- 26:15Speaker 4: this same group of guys that you fought and clawed.
- 26:18Speaker 4: With i'll never forget Losing game seven and sitting in
- 26:21Speaker 4: that and sitting in that. Clubhouse it is something that,
- 26:25Speaker 4: unfortunately you never get rid. Of you remember the, wins
- 26:29Speaker 4: but you never get rid of the losses like.
- 26:31Speaker 1: This, yeah you, know once you walk out of that,
- 26:34Speaker 1: clubhouse that's. It you turn the. Page you're never gonna
- 26:36Speaker 1: be with that exact group. Again we're getting some super
- 26:40Speaker 1: chats mixed in. Here, obviously there's been a lot of
- 26:43Speaker 1: back and forth With dodger fans And Blue jay. Fans
- 26:45Speaker 1: they're trying to Shush. Flatty blatty was really good in the.
- 26:47Speaker 1: POSTSEASON i, mean we don't have a dog in the.
- 26:50Speaker 1: Fight we're just breaking this thing down and we're loving.
- 26:52Speaker 1: IT A dodger fan that said he never gave up
- 26:55Speaker 1: and attended a couple of the. Games, here as we're
- 26:59Speaker 1: talking back to some moment is that we haven't gotten
- 27:01Speaker 1: to so. Far just to piggyback off what krat, SAID i,
- 27:03Speaker 1: Mean Boba schett was kind of playing on one knee
- 27:06Speaker 1: in this. Series first pitch through Run homer in the
- 27:08Speaker 1: bottom of the, third four hundred and forty two feet
- 27:11Speaker 1: all over a slider that Show Atani hung made a
- 27:15Speaker 1: three to Nothing dodgers battle, back and then one more
- 27:17Speaker 1: MOMENT i want to slice through and then we'll kind
- 27:20Speaker 1: of talk about the aftermath, Here. Trevor what's going through
- 27:25Speaker 1: Justin robleski's mind when he's Facing Andre, semenez who's had
- 27:29Speaker 1: his big moments with runners on in the, postseason but
- 27:33Speaker 1: he is at the bottom of the. Lineup you're not
- 27:36Speaker 1: trying to allow him to get on base to face
- 27:38Speaker 1: the top of the. Lineup they were some up and in,
- 27:41Speaker 1: missus Including jimenez trying to play some video game and
- 27:46Speaker 1: catch the baseball that went towards, him and Eventually jimenez was,
- 27:51Speaker 1: pissed and then there was a back and. Forth you've
- 27:53Speaker 1: been there, Before.
- 27:55Speaker 2: Yeah that was that was an interesting.
- 27:58Speaker 3: Situation stand like a lot of these things look a
- 28:02Speaker 3: little bit odd in slow, mo, Right so we had
- 28:06Speaker 3: the it looked maybe in the slow mo when they're
- 28:09Speaker 3: trying to figure out if it hit him or, not
- 28:11Speaker 3: his hand left up bad and it kind of went
- 28:13Speaker 3: over the plate and it looks a lot worse than
- 28:15Speaker 3: it probably really was in uh in real. Time and
- 28:20Speaker 3: then the next pitch hits him on the, hand but
- 28:22Speaker 3: he's you, know it's not like he's there's there is
- 28:24Speaker 3: no incentive to hit a guy there at. All it's
- 28:27Speaker 3: The World. Series you're left on, left you're against the nine.
- 28:30Speaker 2: Hitter we Got.
- 28:31Speaker 3: George, springer who keeps he's the thorn in everyone's, side
- 28:34Speaker 3: including his own right coming up. Next so it's it's,
- 28:39Speaker 3: LIKE i don't want to Face George. Springer why WOULD
- 28:41Speaker 3: i hit? You that doesn't make any, Sense but like
- 28:44Speaker 3: it's almost like him And as was, like, YEAH i know,
- 28:48Speaker 3: outlooked BUT i wasn't trying to get, hit you know
- 28:49Speaker 3: WHAT i. Mean like like it was almost they were
- 28:51Speaker 3: accusing each other of something they weren't accusing each other.
- 28:53Speaker 3: Of it was, weird but you know it's when you're
- 28:57Speaker 3: super you're you're jacked, up like you're is it you
- 29:00Speaker 3: have the most adrenaline you've ever had in your entire,
- 29:02Speaker 3: life any little, thing you, know maybe even maybe even
- 29:06Speaker 3: the jawing was, like we're behind right.
- 29:08Speaker 2: Now maybe we can light a little bit.
- 29:10Speaker 3: More, fire just get a little extra energy to get
- 29:12Speaker 3: us through because the season is over after, today no matter,
- 29:15Speaker 3: what like we find, it IF i can help light
- 29:18Speaker 3: that fire a little, BIT i, mean maybe it helped
- 29:20Speaker 3: maybe fire the guys up a little. Bit maybe everyone
- 29:22Speaker 3: is out, there like maybe the bullpen guys were, like
- 29:23Speaker 3: are you're really making us run onto the field right?
- 29:25Speaker 3: Now really we're a little. Tired we're all going to
- 29:29Speaker 3: be a.
- 29:30Speaker 2: Starters we're not used to, this. Okay and, second like
- 29:33Speaker 2: it's not close, right it's a comfortable bullpen out there.
- 29:37Speaker 2: Too you don't want to leave that. One so, yeah
- 29:39Speaker 2: a lot going on, there but.
- 29:42Speaker 3: Just one of those things where you're, like, hey what you,
- 29:45Speaker 3: know now we've really checked all the the bingo card
- 29:47Speaker 3: is covered for The World series at this.
- 29:48Speaker 2: Point now we benched. Clearing that's the last thing we.
- 29:51Speaker 1: Needed crazy crazy and One fancratz is trying to remind
- 29:54Speaker 1: me that And mena, said throw the ball over the.
- 29:56Speaker 1: Plate i'm well AWARE i can lip read When i'm.
- 30:00Speaker 1: Watching we were well aware of the back and forth
- 30:02Speaker 1: exchange just setting it. Up thank you very. Much but
- 30:06Speaker 1: ALSO i would like to give a shout out To
- 30:08Speaker 1: Louis varland for setting the all time postseason record for
- 30:12Speaker 1: appearances every. Day louis did appear in this, One.
- 30:15Speaker 4: Kratz i'm also going to give a shout out to
- 30:18Speaker 4: anybody who hates on any records that are being broken right.
- 30:20Speaker 4: NOW x players fans don't talk about when like the
- 30:25Speaker 4: game was just The World. Series, okay What Louis varland
- 30:28Speaker 4: did is, incredible and the fact that he came in
- 30:31Speaker 4: And Big spot After Big spot is. Ridiculous, yes he
- 30:36Speaker 4: broke the. Record how many times he pitched Like Brandon,
- 30:39Speaker 4: morrow like he couldn't Eve he barely came back from.
- 30:42Speaker 4: THAT i Got textmorrow because like that many. OUTINGS i
- 30:48Speaker 4: don't care if you say you bounce back Like Louis varland', said,
- 30:51Speaker 4: yeah you know, what.
- 30:51Speaker 2: It bounced back pretty.
- 30:52Speaker 4: QUICK i was proud Of schneider for not trying to
- 30:55Speaker 4: push it even, farther but also not being afraid to, say,
- 30:59Speaker 4: hey you know, what he might need Flu hardy against
- 31:01Speaker 4: Show hey later in the. Game it's only the fifth.
- 31:03Speaker 4: Inning i'm Gonna i'm gonna go outside the box here
- 31:07Speaker 4: and have him face Show, hey and Show hey got the,
- 31:10Speaker 4: hit but he was able to get through the rest
- 31:12Speaker 4: of the inning, There so there there was some outside
- 31:15Speaker 4: the box thinking tonight for. Him it wasn't just flew
- 31:17Speaker 4: Hard it wasn't just flew hardy against Show, hey and
- 31:20Speaker 4: then Vert varlin against the normal guys that he. Faces
- 31:25Speaker 4: he did a good job of mixing it up.
- 31:27Speaker 1: There Did schneider make the right decision to take out
- 31:33Speaker 1: bo at that? Moment FOR I kf because you got
- 31:35Speaker 1: to try and win it. There, yeah you're just trying
- 31:38Speaker 1: to look, back that's. Right there were so many decisions to,
- 31:41Speaker 1: make and then bo spot did come up.
- 31:42Speaker 2: Again, yeah here's, where here's.
- 31:45Speaker 4: Where right before, THAT i think the game kind of
- 31:48Speaker 4: shifted and will probably never even think about it again
- 31:50Speaker 4: AFTER i say. It the batter Before bow Was vladdie
- 31:54Speaker 4: and it was a three to zero count and he,
- 31:57Speaker 4: swum not saying he shouldn't have swung because if he
- 32:02Speaker 4: hits a, danger it's Forever vladdie's, history you, know walk
- 32:06Speaker 4: off all that. Stuff if he makes him throw a
- 32:11Speaker 4: few more pitches, there and then he gets on on a.
- 32:14Speaker 4: Wall you, know he's way up in the. Count even
- 32:16Speaker 4: at three, two you're still up in the, count and
- 32:20Speaker 4: you know what he. Swung Then bo got the. Hit
- 32:23Speaker 4: now all of a, sudden you Have vladdie on third
- 32:26Speaker 4: or you, know things are a little.
- 32:28Speaker 3: DIFFERENT i also want to really quickly Hit barlin. Again
- 32:33Speaker 3: so he. Threw The Toronto Blue jays played eighteen. Games
- 32:36Speaker 3: he pitched in fifteen of. Them that's crazy on its. Own,
- 32:41Speaker 3: also anyone who discounts this because there's more. Rounds they
- 32:45Speaker 3: were a one seed they got to, buy so they
- 32:47Speaker 3: only played three. Series so it's just like it's always.
- 32:50Speaker 3: Been it was an aunie wildcard, teams so they didn't
- 32:52Speaker 3: get extra games there. Either so throwing fifteen times in eighteen,
- 32:55Speaker 3: games WHICH i think there was, five there are some
- 32:59Speaker 3: off days in, there so he did it in a,
- 33:00Speaker 3: Month but, like throwing fifteen times.
- 33:02Speaker 2: In a month is so many in the regular. Season
- 33:06Speaker 2: so it's.
- 33:07Speaker 3: Impressive and with this much pressure and the WAY i,
- 33:11Speaker 3: MEAN i think he gave up four or five home,
- 33:12Speaker 3: runs like he kind of went through it a little
- 33:14Speaker 3: bit there and then still kind of he had ups and.
- 33:17Speaker 3: Downs he, had he had a tough stretch in the,
- 33:19Speaker 3: middle and then still figured it out. Again like that's
- 33:21Speaker 3: just stuff you don't see in the. Playoffs usually you
- 33:23Speaker 3: are one way or you are the other. Way you're
- 33:25Speaker 3: not pitching well and you just don't pitch, anymore or
- 33:28Speaker 3: you are nails Like Will harrison in twenty one or
- 33:32Speaker 3: in nineteen and you're throwing was it nineteen either one
- 33:36Speaker 3: twenty One national nineteen and you're throwing a twelve every
- 33:40Speaker 3: single day because you're you know what he can hit,
- 33:42Speaker 3: You so like it's those.
- 33:44Speaker 2: Two you're one of those two.
- 33:45Speaker 3: Guys and for him to be able to do what he,
- 33:47Speaker 3: did keep his confidence, up take the ball every, time
- 33:49Speaker 3: throw multiple innings and then just throw ninety eight to
- 33:52Speaker 3: one on one the whole time is. Incredible it's. Incredible
- 33:57Speaker 3: there's Lots i've. Used i've said that a lot. Today
- 33:59Speaker 3: Incredible and he was.
- 34:00Speaker 4: A Trade so for everybody at the trade, deadline if
- 34:03Speaker 4: you don't Watch Foul territory the trade, deadline that's, It
- 34:09Speaker 4: like go make your team better or you really don't
- 34:12Speaker 4: want to.
- 34:12Speaker 1: Win we can show the Super chat again if we
- 34:18Speaker 1: want to piss people. Off for the last five minutes
- 34:21Speaker 1: of the, show as we give tons of flowers to
- 34:23Speaker 1: The dodgers organization for putting together back to back, Champs mikey,
- 34:28Speaker 1: Said dodgers back to back hashtag Brings scoobale And skemes.
- 34:33Speaker 1: Home The dodgers are ruining. Baseball this postseason wasn't even,
- 34:39Speaker 1: fun so. Boring they just won every game ten. Nothing
- 34:44Speaker 1: after their one hundred and sixty two and oh. Season
- 34:47Speaker 1: game seven just now we knew they were going to,
- 34:49Speaker 1: win and we knew they were going to Win game,
- 34:51Speaker 1: six and they were just messing around in this. Series.
- 34:53Speaker 1: Kratz the way they were in the last series was
- 34:56Speaker 1: how they. Are they can sweep. Everyone they were just
- 34:59Speaker 1: trying to give us a little bit. Entertainment i'm speaking
- 35:01Speaker 1: with utmost, sarcasm but there is crying going on from
- 35:03Speaker 1: some in the chat that are, like baseball is so,
- 35:06Speaker 1: unfair the same team every. Year we haven't had back
- 35:10Speaker 1: to back champs in twenty five. Years one fan absolutely
- 35:13Speaker 1: seriously said THE nfl is so much better because there's
- 35:17Speaker 1: always different, champs and then the entire chat lost their
- 35:19Speaker 1: minds and reminded them about The Kansas City. Chiefs there
- 35:22Speaker 1: was NO nba mentioned for a good reason the.
- 35:25Speaker 2: Last in The.
- 35:26Speaker 1: Eagles in the last twelve champs FOR, mlb there have
- 35:30Speaker 1: been nine different. Winners we're doing, okay but But, TREVOR
- 35:36Speaker 1: i got a good seat that one back to back
- 35:37Speaker 1: winner and everyone loses their. Mind not, everyone but Some
- 35:41Speaker 1: who's got a great stat for this all?
- 35:44Speaker 3: Right since twenty, fifteen last ten championships in all three,
- 35:48Speaker 3: leagues these are the average payrolls that win our seventh
- 35:54Speaker 3: in the league In baseball and seventh in THE. Nfl
- 35:59Speaker 3: the loser of The World series is you average eleventh
- 36:02Speaker 3: in both THE nfl and THE molb AND molb, sorry
- 36:06Speaker 3: can't see THE.
- 36:08Speaker 2: Nba fifth is the winner and eighth is the average.
- 36:12Speaker 3: Loser so if any league is buying playoff runs THE,
- 36:18Speaker 3: nba that's All i'm. Saying that's What i'm. Saying so,
- 36:20Speaker 3: like it's pretty like it's kind of the same.
- 36:23Speaker 2: Thing, everywhere. Guys it's just like there's a.
- 36:27Speaker 3: Level some teams just build better teams and then they
- 36:29Speaker 3: have good development when they have those good. Players and
- 36:32Speaker 3: The dodgers have a great development as, well on top
- 36:35Speaker 3: of lots of money and on top of a lot
- 36:37Speaker 3: of good free. Agents they also have good players that they,
- 36:40Speaker 3: drafted like the guy who hit the go head home
- 36:42Speaker 3: run tonight twenty.
- 36:44Speaker 1: Sixteen look up to twenty sixteen draft for The, dodgers
- 36:47Speaker 1: who also never get to pick towards the top of the.
- 36:49Speaker 1: Draft and it's not just that you actually get a
- 36:51Speaker 1: pool of money that you're able to spend in the,
- 36:54Speaker 1: draft and it's based on where you are placed in
- 36:57Speaker 1: the draft right and how many picks you, have and
- 36:59Speaker 1: so the good teams usually don't have as much of,
- 37:02Speaker 1: that so they have the. Disadvantage there are other advantages
- 37:05Speaker 1: that are put out there for smaller market. Teams do
- 37:08Speaker 1: you want? More sure we can work on. More tell
- 37:10Speaker 1: the owners to share their money a little bit. More
- 37:12Speaker 1: also force some of the ones that stuff their pockets
- 37:15Speaker 1: to spend a little bit. MORE a cap is going
- 37:17Speaker 1: to have nothing to do With Bob nutting and how
- 37:19Speaker 1: he's going to run The Pittsburgh. Pirates we're going to
- 37:22Speaker 1: talk about that all off. Season BUT i just wanted
- 37:24Speaker 1: to get to a little bit of. Crying it's, like
- 37:26Speaker 1: can we have back to back champs one? Time this
- 37:28Speaker 1: actually was a, Record, trevor the longest back to back
- 37:33Speaker 1: champ drought in history was just now and it was just.
- 37:37Speaker 1: Snapped And i'm not just talking About Major League. Baseball
- 37:40Speaker 1: i'm talking ABOUT, NBA, NFL, mlb AND. Nhl longest drought just.
- 37:45Speaker 3: Snapped it's a weird time to talk about, this isn't it?
- 37:49Speaker 3: Is it is almost like there's the timing just it's
- 37:55Speaker 3: too perfect to have this. Conversation, YEAH i mean you
- 38:00Speaker 3: made a great, point and this conversation is going to
- 38:03Speaker 3: happen so much in the next. Year we don't need
- 38:05Speaker 3: to have it all right. Now but, like there are
- 38:08Speaker 3: there adjustments, made of course there. Is there's always adjustments
- 38:11Speaker 3: that can be. Made but you, know if it's if
- 38:14Speaker 3: it's a it's not a wholesale it's not the first
- 38:16Speaker 3: thing that's going to be. Proposed and it's probably not
- 38:19Speaker 3: the same thing other leagues do because they're different. Games
- 38:22Speaker 3: Like Oshoho tani got walked five straight times in an
- 38:25Speaker 3: eighteen and in game they were, like you don't get
- 38:27Speaker 3: a hit, Today like what other sport can you do?
- 38:30Speaker 2: That literally just say, hi you don't get a.
- 38:32Speaker 3: Play you can't do that in, basketball you can't do
- 38:35Speaker 3: that in THE, nhl can't do that in THE. Nfl
- 38:38Speaker 3: like you just can't say you don't get you do
- 38:40Speaker 3: not get to do. Anything, now if we decided like,
- 38:42Speaker 3: that that's that's that's unique to, baseball and there is
- 38:47Speaker 3: there's just so many things that people with not the
- 38:50Speaker 3: resources can do in order to neutralize these. Guys, Uh
- 38:54Speaker 3: and there's nine guys on the on both sides of the. Ball,
- 38:57Speaker 3: so like you just there's only so much effect you
- 39:01Speaker 3: can have on a game in, baseball and it's a
- 39:03Speaker 3: lot less than other. Sports so, naturally like there's gonna
- 39:07Speaker 3: have to be a lot of, luck and you're gonna
- 39:08Speaker 3: have to get a lot of value out of guys
- 39:10Speaker 3: that are paid less than they are producing on the.
- 39:12Speaker 3: Field that's just how our game has to be at some.
- 39:16Speaker 3: Level but that, said there are some adjustments that can
- 39:20Speaker 3: happen so that more teams are competitive and that more
- 39:23Speaker 3: fan bases feel like they have a, chance because if
- 39:25Speaker 3: only five ever feel like they have the, chance that's not.
- 39:28Speaker 2: Fun AND i totally get. THAT i understand where people
- 39:30Speaker 2: are coming.
- 39:30Speaker 3: From that is, frustrating AND i totally get, it AND
- 39:33Speaker 3: i think that we're all on the same page and
- 39:34Speaker 3: wanting to fix.
- 39:35Speaker 1: That, yeah but we've had nine winners in twelve tries
- 39:39Speaker 1: here just, now so we're all good and the number two.
- 39:41Speaker 1: Team it's so unfair BECAUSE i feel like it's just
- 39:43Speaker 1: number one and number two. Payroll oh, wait number two
- 39:46Speaker 1: this year was The. Mets they've been In mexico for a.
- 39:49Speaker 1: Month it's, Facts it's just how it. Works you can
- 39:53Speaker 1: definitely be angry that there is a new death, star
- 39:56Speaker 1: Right The dodgers are definitely the all around successful. Organization
- 40:02Speaker 1: they've done so many things so, well and it really
- 40:05Speaker 1: starts with drafting and. Developing Clayton kershaw goes out on.
- 40:09Speaker 1: TOP a shout out to. Him he did have his last,
- 40:11Speaker 1: moment but they're so good at that and this is
- 40:14Speaker 1: a year where it all lined up for. Them the
- 40:16Speaker 1: starting pitching was healthy at the right. Time some of
- 40:19Speaker 1: their stars krats are getting up there age. Wise of,
- 40:22Speaker 1: course this is the goodbye For Clayton, kershaw but they've
- 40:25Speaker 1: just done a really nice job of. Replenishing it is
- 40:28Speaker 1: hard to keep it going at the top so consistently
- 40:31Speaker 1: in the, division and they don't win every year in
- 40:33Speaker 1: the postseason postseason gets, Wild BUT i think we should
- 40:37Speaker 1: do a little shout out in a tip of the
- 40:38Speaker 1: cap To Clayton, kershaw who does get to go out on.
- 40:42Speaker 1: Top there was a chance that he was gonna pop
- 40:45Speaker 1: up in this game if it kept.
- 40:46Speaker 4: Rolling yellomoto's Like, Clayton, sorry, Sorry LIKE i don't want
- 40:52Speaker 4: to see you out. There i'll take care of. It
- 40:54Speaker 4: my only. COMMENT i will save my comment for the
- 40:57Speaker 4: parody in the league and everything for the rest of
- 40:59Speaker 4: our off, season BECAUSE i BEGET i get two may
- 41:02Speaker 4: complaints all on My twitter feed about me being a pro,
- 41:06Speaker 4: player pro player, agenda And i'm, like, no, NO i
- 41:11Speaker 4: just want everybody to try as hard as The dodgers
- 41:14Speaker 4: with how much money you. Have maybe you don't have as.
- 41:17Speaker 4: Much but six straight years That Will smith has won
- 41:23Speaker 4: A World. Series the record.
- 41:25Speaker 1: Continues now we're talking about multiple human. Beings but that.
- 41:30Speaker 4: IS i didn't. SAY i didn't say The Will. SMITH
- 41:34Speaker 4: i Said Will.
- 41:36Speaker 1: Smith christian with a super.
- 41:40Speaker 2: CHAT i hate.
- 41:40Speaker 1: Everything i'll never experience championship glory for as long AS i.
- 41:43Speaker 1: Live Is christian a fan of The Blue jays and
- 41:49Speaker 1: any hockey team In? Canada would that be why he's.
- 41:53Speaker 1: Frustrated maybe he's not A raptors. Fan The raptors did
- 41:55Speaker 1: win in twenty.
- 41:57Speaker 4: EIGHTEEN i think it, was or maybe it's From.
- 41:59Speaker 3: Cleveland, well he paid In, canadian so that was WHY
- 42:05Speaker 3: i had thought that maybe it was A canadian.
- 42:08Speaker 1: Thing, hey this was a really fun ride for this.
- 42:11Speaker 2: Team he'll get. One, hey we'll get one good.
- 42:14Speaker 1: Thing Bladdie junior is locked up for a very long.
- 42:16Speaker 1: Time that dude looks like he's a pretty damn good,
- 42:18Speaker 1: player pretty damn good. Player something like that changed the
- 42:22Speaker 1: complexion of the franchise to lock in a guy like,
- 42:26Speaker 1: that and it will help them in recruiting players. Too
- 42:28Speaker 1: there's something special going on in terms of the atmosphere
- 42:31Speaker 1: up In, toronto and they do a really nice job
- 42:33Speaker 1: of taking care of the. Players we'll see if they
- 42:35Speaker 1: can continue a successful run here And bobashet will be
- 42:40Speaker 1: a huge topic this. Offseason so. Breath that was a.
