- 0:00Speaker 1: And now move the sticks with Daniel, Jeremiah and Bucky Brooks.
- 0:06Speaker 2: What's up? Everybody?
- 0:07Speaker 3: Welcome to move the sticks, DJ, Bucky and Baldy with
- 0:10Speaker 3: By the way, Baldy, where the heck.
- 0:12Speaker 2: Is my Baldy Breakdown T shirt?
- 0:14Speaker 4: Man?
- 0:14Speaker 2: You know my address?
- 0:15Speaker 3: Uh?
- 0:15Speaker 4: Yeah, I guess, I mean, I guess I got to
- 0:17Speaker 4: get these out before the holiday season begins. We got
- 0:19Speaker 4: I gave you.
- 0:20Speaker 2: Your suits back. What do you want from me?
- 0:26Speaker 3: At least three of Baldy's like Neeman Marcus nice suits
- 0:30Speaker 3: that when I.
- 0:31Speaker 2: Cleaned out my locker. This is a couple of years ago.
- 0:33Speaker 3: Somehow they got put in my locker and it didn't
- 0:35Speaker 3: take me on to realize they don't fit me, and
- 0:37Speaker 3: so yeah, they just hung in my locker. And so
- 0:39Speaker 3: then it's like a like in this like a stealth bomber,
- 0:43Speaker 3: like I snuck into the locker room one day and
- 0:45Speaker 3: just put those suits right back in his in his locker.
- 0:47Speaker 4: And I'm glad you saved them, DJ, because they were
- 0:51Speaker 4: all layaway.
- 0:57Speaker 2: Anyway, we got Baldi's got a sick Baldy Breakdown T shirts.
- 1:00Speaker 2: We got to get those distributed.
- 1:01Speaker 3: But let's jump into some games here, guys and knock
- 1:04Speaker 3: some of these things out, Baldy. Let's start first of all,
- 1:07Speaker 3: the Sunday nighter. I mean, I watched the first part
- 1:10Speaker 3: of this game and you thought, Okay, yeah, Pittsburgh, Yeah, no,
- 1:12Speaker 3: Pittsburgh's gonna they're gonna hold onto this division. You know,
- 1:15Speaker 3: it's kind of been gift wrap form. They're not gonna
- 1:16Speaker 3: blow it there in good spot here and then man,
- 1:19Speaker 3: you go to the bathroom and come back and like,
- 1:20Speaker 3: oh my gosh, the defense is rud it's ugly ahead
- 1:23Speaker 3: once again.
- 1:23Speaker 4: Yeah, well, they can't tackle. I mean it's been a
- 1:25Speaker 4: problem now. I mean Tucker Kraft got one hundred and
- 1:28Speaker 4: thirty one yards after you know, if it was one
- 1:30Speaker 4: hundred and forty three yards, you know, after he caught
- 1:32Speaker 4: the ball like it was one big play after another.
- 1:34Speaker 4: And they were like simple flat routes. It's not like
- 1:36Speaker 4: they throw the ball down the field. They're throwing a
- 1:39Speaker 4: five yard flat route and nobody can tackle them. You
- 1:41Speaker 4: can't get them into the ground. It was an issue
- 1:43Speaker 4: against Cincinnati the last time they played. So I mean,
- 1:47Speaker 4: but Jordan Love played, I mean, he played great. They
- 1:49Speaker 4: protected very well. I mean, he didn't hear TJ's name
- 1:52Speaker 4: or high Smith or her, but you hear anybody, Like
- 1:54Speaker 4: they got the shots down to Justin Watson, they got
- 1:57Speaker 4: their chunk yards and then they finished. They finished, you
- 2:00Speaker 4: know when they had to finish, and it was an
- 2:02Speaker 4: impressive second half offensively, and then Micah in the group,
- 2:06Speaker 4: you know they got after like the one thing about
- 2:08Speaker 4: Aaron and it happened last year. He's just in a
- 2:10Speaker 4: hurry to get rid of the ball, so he's not
- 2:12Speaker 4: gonna get big chunk plays. And once you get it
- 2:14Speaker 4: out quick, and if he's got to hold it and
- 2:16Speaker 4: Mike is there, Rashaun Gary, like, once they start chasing them,
- 2:20Speaker 4: I mean you can basically say, okay, you know it's
- 2:23Speaker 4: either going to be basically no yards or a throwaway.
- 2:25Speaker 4: And that's kind of how the offense just stalled in
- 2:28Speaker 4: the second half.
- 2:30Speaker 1: You know what's interesting when you talk about both defenses.
- 2:33Speaker 1: We talked about Pittsburgh's first Mike Tomlin in the off
- 2:36Speaker 1: season when the preseason was really adamant about we got
- 2:40Speaker 1: these guys so we could lock up and play Manda
- 2:42Speaker 1: Man and I am a Manda Man fan, but we
- 2:44Speaker 1: know in Man de Mand you have more explosive plays
- 2:48Speaker 1: that you can give up because in space, one on
- 2:51Speaker 1: one tackling is coveted at a premium, and if you
- 2:53Speaker 1: don't get guys down, you see the big plays. And
- 2:56Speaker 1: when I'm really looking at the stiller is is not
- 2:58Speaker 1: only the tackling, but it's being able to be sticky
- 3:01Speaker 1: with your guys down the field. You know, they have
- 3:03Speaker 1: all these guys that they brought in. They thought they
- 3:05Speaker 1: were going to have a shut them down defense, and
- 3:07Speaker 1: we're seeing big play after big play, which is a problem. Conversely,
- 3:12Speaker 1: the Green May Packers want to play visit and break.
- 3:15Speaker 1: They want to keep the ball in front. They last
- 3:18Speaker 1: year they wanted to bring zone pressure. But when you
- 3:20Speaker 1: go and get a guy like Micah to go with
- 3:22Speaker 1: Rashan Gary and some of the other guys they have
- 3:24Speaker 1: up front, now you can have a four man rush,
- 3:27Speaker 1: leave seven in coverage and just sit and zone and
- 3:30Speaker 1: wait and watch. And when you have Aaron Rodgers who
- 3:33Speaker 1: fears the pass rush with Michael Parson, those guys winning
- 3:36Speaker 1: at one on ones, it is problematic because they can
- 3:39Speaker 1: tell wait everything that you want to do without really
- 3:41Speaker 1: putting their defense air wrists.
- 3:44Speaker 3: They're three losses thirty one points, thirty three points thirty
- 3:47Speaker 3: five points.
- 3:48Speaker 2: I mean, this is not like, ah, the defense is
- 3:50Speaker 2: falling off.
- 3:50Speaker 3: This is like bad, bad and Baldi and I we're
- 3:54Speaker 3: talking about this morning, Buck and talking about the tackling,
- 3:57Speaker 3: and so I went into watch it. Okay, let's see
- 3:59Speaker 3: who the culprit is. Well, man, there's a blood on
- 4:01Speaker 3: a lot of people's hands. I mean, it is an
- 4:02Speaker 3: equal opportunity. Everyone's missing tackles in coverage. Thornhill's missing tackles,
- 4:07Speaker 3: Porter's missing tackles, that you name it, across the board.
- 4:10Speaker 2: They could not tackle.
- 4:11Speaker 3: And you guys are right literally just dumping the ball
- 4:14Speaker 3: on the flat to this fricking tight end craft. They
- 4:16Speaker 3: cannot get him on the ground, right, you could tackle him.
- 4:19Speaker 3: So I mean that's that's a major, major, major problem.
- 4:22Speaker 3: I don't know if that's getting better anytime soon.
- 4:25Speaker 4: Well, you know, the one on one. I mean, I
- 4:28Speaker 4: even if you go back to the Cincinnati game on
- 4:30Speaker 4: Thursday night, I mean, you know they tried to play
- 4:32Speaker 4: man coverage Chase.
- 4:33Speaker 2: There's nobody in the picture with Chase from last week.
- 4:36Speaker 3: You could freeze it on the All twenty two and
- 4:38Speaker 3: there's he's the only body in the frame.
- 4:40Speaker 4: Everybody it was Ramsey, it was you know, Sleigh, it
- 4:43Speaker 4: was like you know Porter, they all lined up and
- 4:45Speaker 4: he got beat and so you thought, okay, well, you
- 4:48Speaker 4: know Green Bay doesn't have the same firepower. But you
- 4:51Speaker 4: know they went play action, you know under center, play action,
- 4:54Speaker 4: max protect. They ran their speedo routes down there. Watching
- 4:57Speaker 4: got two big plays. Dob's gonna cut, you know. I mean,
- 5:01Speaker 4: they did what they wanted to do offensively in the
- 5:04Speaker 4: second half, and Pittsburgh they could not play catch up
- 5:08Speaker 4: once they lost that lead.
- 5:09Speaker 3: One thing I'll just add and we'll move on to
- 5:11Speaker 3: the next game. If you're going to try and find
- 5:12Speaker 3: some positive for Pittsburgh. Here, Roman Wilson's showing signs the
- 5:16Speaker 3: last few weeks, and he did some nice things in
- 5:18Speaker 3: this game. End up with four seventy four and a touchdown.
- 5:21Speaker 3: A lot of quick hitters as you're referencing quick outs,
- 5:24Speaker 3: but then you see, you know, hit a deep ball.
- 5:26Speaker 3: He's open for ten seconds on the touchdown of Aaron
- 5:28Speaker 3: just kind of took a while to get to him
- 5:30Speaker 3: in the back of the end line there. But he's
- 5:32Speaker 3: somebody who can give you some run after catch. He
- 5:33Speaker 3: can give you, you know, some stuff down the field
- 5:35Speaker 3: as well, So that was, you know, trying to find
- 5:38Speaker 3: somebody to go pair up with DK. I think that's
- 5:40Speaker 3: at least a positive from the Pittsburgh side of things.
- 5:42Speaker 3: Let's say, let's buck, let's get to uh Man. I
- 5:45Speaker 3: think I think the most impressive win of the weekend
- 5:49Speaker 3: and that was Denver and what they did to Dallas
- 5:51Speaker 3: forty four to twenty four just dismantled the Cowboys.
- 5:54Speaker 5: Man, this mantle of defense can't stop the run or pass.
- 5:58Speaker 1: I mean, they just had to figure out what they
- 6:00Speaker 1: wanted to do and how they wanted to attack. But
- 6:03Speaker 1: they give Sean Payton credit won they need to always
- 6:06Speaker 1: just play in their throwback uniforms. I don't know why
- 6:08Speaker 1: they would ever go back to their regular uniforms. The
- 6:09Speaker 1: throwbacks are classic. It reminded me of being a kid
- 6:12Speaker 1: watching Rick upchurch return punts come home from church, So
- 6:16Speaker 1: I think they need to stay with that. But in
- 6:18Speaker 1: watching the way they're able to run the football effectively.
- 6:21Speaker 5: JK.
- 6:21Speaker 1: Dobbins, R. J. Harvey getting busy. Bo Nick's having a
- 6:24Speaker 1: terrific game, finding his rhythm. This is the offense that
- 6:28Speaker 1: Sean Payton wants because it perfectly compliments how they played
- 6:33Speaker 1: that suffocating defense on the other side.
- 6:38Speaker 4: Chee Payton like he's ruthless man. You know, the Cowboys
- 6:41Speaker 4: line up a free agent, you know Warner out there.
- 6:44Speaker 4: They I mean they they lined they took turns lining
- 6:47Speaker 4: up on them, including Pat Brian catches his first touchdown
- 6:50Speaker 4: pass the season right before the end of the half.
- 6:52Speaker 4: I mean, they went right after him, like every single guy,
- 6:55Speaker 4: whether Troy Franklin or you know, Pat Bryan or they
- 7:00Speaker 4: just abused him. They put them on the other side
- 7:03Speaker 4: of the field after you know, the first half, it
- 7:06Speaker 4: didn't make any difference. They found him and they just
- 7:09Speaker 4: exploited it. But you know, the Cowboys don't you know,
- 7:13Speaker 4: they don't really do anything well defensively, Like they don't
- 7:17Speaker 4: even know, like just setting a simple edge so that
- 7:21Speaker 4: every back that carries the ballge whether it's JK or RJ.
- 7:25Speaker 4: They're not just like hitting the corners like these soft edges,
- 7:29Speaker 4: you know, and then then it's just the run fits
- 7:31Speaker 4: like nothing looks like it's being worked on on that side.
- 7:36Speaker 4: You know. I know they've got a bunch of young
- 7:37Speaker 4: guys playing. I get that, but still like they can't
- 7:40Speaker 4: do the basics right now, just playing gap defense.
- 7:43Speaker 3: Yeah, it goes back to you know, Bucky and I
- 7:45Speaker 3: are up there at camp together Baldy and just watching
- 7:48Speaker 3: the Rams carve them up like a turkey, and it
- 7:50Speaker 3: was like, well, the Rams passing offense is really really good,
- 7:52Speaker 3: or this secondary has got major major concerns for the Cowboys.
- 7:56Speaker 3: Turns out a little bit of both, you know, when
- 7:58Speaker 3: you get right down to it. But I want to
- 8:00Speaker 3: touch on two things. One, the two young guys that
- 8:03Speaker 3: stood out r J. Harvey, there's so much attention. We
- 8:06Speaker 3: talked about it all in the lead up to the
- 8:08Speaker 3: draft that Sean Payton used the term joker.
- 8:10Speaker 2: He wanted to find his joker.
- 8:11Speaker 3: He's always worked inside out in New Orleans, whether it
- 8:13Speaker 3: was the back, the tight ends, the slot receivers, They've
- 8:15Speaker 3: always kind of liked to work in that portion of
- 8:17Speaker 3: the field. He wanted a mismatch player. And I saw
- 8:20Speaker 3: a video of the day with Breeze and asked him
- 8:22Speaker 3: who's the best weapon that he's ever played with, and
- 8:24Speaker 3: he said scrolls because.
- 8:26Speaker 2: Those are the matchups. Nobody can cover that guy.
- 8:28Speaker 3: And now you've got somebody who's got the juice and
- 8:30Speaker 3: the burst and RJ Harvey, they're going to figure out
- 8:33Speaker 3: more ways to unlock him. But seeing him get loose
- 8:35Speaker 3: a little bit, popping a run on a toss. He
- 8:37Speaker 3: had seven for forty six, two touchdowns, So that's their joker.
- 8:41Speaker 3: Then Troy Franklin, you mentioned his name briefly, Baldy going
- 8:43Speaker 3: through his stuff just he's playing really good in instinctive,
- 8:48Speaker 3: in space, like for a guy who was a speed
- 8:51Speaker 3: guy coming out, he's figuring out ways to kind of
- 8:53Speaker 3: work in soft spots and zones. And when he goes
- 8:57Speaker 3: from the bunch formation across the four men and then
- 9:00Speaker 3: he rounds about twenty five.
- 9:02Speaker 4: Yards down the field into the end zone and never stopped.
- 9:05Speaker 3: Nobody there, Yeah, nobody and nobody there, nobody there to
- 9:08Speaker 3: touch him. That's why I just wrote down. I just
- 9:10Speaker 3: wrote on my notes. I've got a bunch of stuff
- 9:11Speaker 3: where he just kind of I don't label him as routes.
- 9:14Speaker 3: I'm just like, there's just kind of a It was
- 9:17Speaker 3: Mike Leach. Mike Leach's offense which was always just go grass, Yeah,
- 9:22Speaker 3: go grab grass. Just find out where there's some open
- 9:24Speaker 3: space and go grab it. But that that's what he's doing.
- 9:26Speaker 3: So I went back and pulled up my Troy Franklin note,
- 9:29Speaker 3: So he was coming out he was six oh one
- 9:31Speaker 3: seven so just under six two one hundred and seventy
- 9:34Speaker 3: six pounds, so rail Finn ran four four to one
- 9:37Speaker 3: uh and my notes on him, tall, lean, explosive, he
- 9:40Speaker 3: can win against press with quicks. He's sudden, he's clean
- 9:43Speaker 3: out of brakes, a lot of fades, tracks, the ball easy,
- 9:46Speaker 3: a lot.
- 9:46Speaker 2: Of home runs, had some drop drops in traffic.
- 9:50Speaker 3: But really, you know, we talk about like the we
- 9:52Speaker 3: used to talk up the blood area like, you know,
- 9:54Speaker 3: do you work in the blood area the field? That's
- 9:56Speaker 3: not really what you You don't really need him to
- 9:58Speaker 3: do that. He did not run in full speed and anybody.
- 10:00Speaker 3: So he's able to get the ball vertically down the field.
- 10:03Speaker 3: But I think Sean Payton and their group give him credit.
- 10:05Speaker 3: They've got him to get a really good feel for
- 10:07Speaker 3: working in some of these soft spots.
- 10:09Speaker 4: Baldly Well, the soft spots were easy to find because.
- 10:13Speaker 2: You know, they're plentiful. Yeah, I mean there's a.
- 10:16Speaker 4: Lot of soft spots. DJ. But you know the touchdown
- 10:19Speaker 4: that you were referenced here to Troy Franklin, like the
- 10:23Speaker 4: Cowboys came Mark hespell Off off the edge the five
- 10:25Speaker 4: band rushed like literally bow Nicks could have checked his
- 10:29Speaker 4: snapchat right there, like you know, just seeing you like okay,
- 10:32Speaker 4: like he had all day for that thing that it
- 10:35Speaker 4: takes time. That's a route that too. Who used to
- 10:37Speaker 4: throw to Tyreek Hill, you know, and you need time
- 10:40Speaker 4: for that thing to go. And literally, I mean he
- 10:43Speaker 4: he double pumped, he hitched. He had all kinds of
- 10:46Speaker 4: time to make those So he dropped back twenty nine times,
- 10:49Speaker 4: no sacks, one quarterback hit Like basically his uniform was
- 10:53Speaker 4: just as clean at the end of the game as
- 10:55Speaker 4: it was to start the game.
- 10:57Speaker 3: I want to ask you both this and Buck hit
- 10:59Speaker 3: it and then Baldy fall. But I saw Sean Payton
- 11:02Speaker 3: after the game. I saw some of his sound and
- 11:04Speaker 3: he said, you know, they really challenged their defense, that
- 11:06Speaker 3: this was going to be a good offense that they
- 11:08Speaker 3: were going up against. And he said, you know, I thought,
- 11:10Speaker 3: I thought our defense got the better of their offense.
- 11:12Speaker 3: And he goes then, of course on the other side,
- 11:14Speaker 3: I mean, it wasn't even close like that. That was
- 11:16Speaker 3: how like borderline arrogant that he talked about what they
- 11:19Speaker 3: did to the Cowboy defense. But I want to ask you, guys,
- 11:23Speaker 3: you both played in the league, and I know that
- 11:24Speaker 3: some of the coaches you played for, but it seems
- 11:26Speaker 3: to me Sean Payton is one of the most confident
- 11:29Speaker 3: borderline cockey coaches in this league. And does that permeate
- 11:32Speaker 3: through your team when the guy at the very top
- 11:34Speaker 3: is that confident book?
- 11:36Speaker 5: Uh yeah, I would say yes.
- 11:38Speaker 1: And I would say the most confident coach that I
- 11:40Speaker 1: ever played for was Marty Schottenheimer.
- 11:42Speaker 5: There were times that he would.
- 11:43Speaker 1: Just stand up a matter of fact, we say we're
- 11:46Speaker 1: going to beat this team. We're gonna whoop them doing X,
- 11:48Speaker 1: Y and Z. And depending on the maturity of your team,
- 11:51Speaker 1: some teams can't handle getting the information being like, oh okay,
- 11:55Speaker 1: coach says, we got it. We just need to follow
- 11:58Speaker 1: the plan and this is what is going to be.
- 12:00Speaker 1: And I think for Sean, I think Sean knows that
- 12:04Speaker 1: the storm that's coming, and the storm is going to
- 12:06Speaker 1: be the Kan City Chiefs and they're going to have
- 12:09Speaker 1: to knock off to Can City Chiefs one or two
- 12:11Speaker 1: times to be able to secure a division, and that
- 12:14Speaker 1: is going to require an unbelievable level of confidence for
- 12:18Speaker 1: a team that still is fairly young on both sides.
- 12:21Speaker 5: Of the ball.
- 12:21Speaker 1: I think he's trying to convey that to get them
- 12:24Speaker 1: to step into that confidence that hey man, we're one
- 12:27Speaker 1: of the heavyweights in AFC.
- 12:30Speaker 3: Who was the most confident coach you played for?
- 12:34Speaker 4: Well, I mean Landry was confident because we were so
- 12:36Speaker 4: well prepared. So I mean, but you know he also
- 12:39Speaker 4: wore us out with a lot like Marty did you
- 12:42Speaker 4: know for all those years. I mean, they just Wearry
- 12:44Speaker 4: out with the meetings and reparation. Eventually, you know, players
- 12:48Speaker 4: just want to go play, you know. I mean you can't.
- 12:50Speaker 4: You can't like cover every single stone, uncover every stone.
- 12:54Speaker 4: But that's how Landry was. So we we you know,
- 12:56Speaker 4: we were very well prepared for what we were going
- 12:58Speaker 4: to do, and but he would out the plan every Wednesday.
- 13:01Speaker 4: You know, this is what we need to do this
- 13:03Speaker 4: week to win this game. And you know, and so
- 13:06Speaker 4: like the plan was set on Wednesday and then you
- 13:09Speaker 4: just perfected the plan all week long.
- 13:12Speaker 3: Well, you can tell they've got a very confident team
- 13:14Speaker 3: that's playing really well both sides of the ball.
- 13:15Speaker 2: They're in Denver.
- 13:16Speaker 4: But what's interesting about that game though, to me, DJ
- 13:19Speaker 4: was Courtland Sutton is by far the number one receiver.
- 13:22Speaker 4: He was like a decoy all day.
- 13:23Speaker 3: Yeah, you didn't lead him exactly, Yeah, yeah, yeah, Yeah.
- 13:28Speaker 3: It's tough though. You got to pick between the other
- 13:30Speaker 3: three guys that are wide open that that that can
- 13:32Speaker 3: be challenge for bocks a ball that you were at
- 13:38Speaker 3: the Giant Philly game there, So I'll let you take
- 13:40Speaker 3: the lead here.
- 13:41Speaker 4: Yeah. Well, I mean the second place Aque went sixty five. Now,
- 13:45Speaker 4: the longest run before that run all year long was
- 13:48Speaker 4: eighteen yards and and so you know, we were you know,
- 13:52Speaker 4: they blocked it. It was a perfectly blocked run, including
- 13:55Speaker 4: DeVante Smith gets a good block on the corner. You know,
- 13:58Speaker 4: Landon Dickerson looked healthy. But you know, they got to
- 14:01Speaker 4: they unleashed the running game. It was like it like
- 14:03Speaker 4: they had never done all year. But I remember talking
- 14:06Speaker 4: to Patula before the game and I was just asking
- 14:08Speaker 4: him about, you know, where's your toss sweeps, where's your
- 14:10Speaker 4: pinning pools? And boy, they ran them right, and they
- 14:14Speaker 4: ran them left, and you know, and they got some
- 14:16Speaker 4: good blocks on the outside, and you know, they they
- 14:19Speaker 4: turned to lose tank. Bigsby had one hundred and sat one.
- 14:22Speaker 4: They even play sake one this you know, this fourth quarter.
- 14:25Speaker 4: I mean, he could have had two hundred yards rushing,
- 14:27Speaker 4: so you know, they uncorked that. But it's it's really
- 14:31Speaker 4: the evolution of this offense. It started in Minnesota with
- 14:35Speaker 4: play action passes with you know, Jalen under center getting
- 14:39Speaker 4: some shots. They continued that. Then you got the pinning
- 14:42Speaker 4: pool and the run game and here they are going
- 14:44Speaker 4: to the bye week at six and two, and it's
- 14:47Speaker 4: a tough schedule coming out, but you could see how
- 14:50Speaker 4: this thing is just gradually coming together and they're going
- 14:54Speaker 4: to be a juggernaut, you know, come the second half
- 14:57Speaker 4: of the season.
- 14:58Speaker 2: What's Jurgens? What's Jurgens at us? Is he is he?
- 15:01Speaker 2: How long is he out?
- 15:03Speaker 4: Well? I don't know how long he is out, but
- 15:06Speaker 4: I'll say this this.
- 15:07Speaker 3: Brett Toath, he pulled his butt off in this game.
- 15:10Speaker 3: Now they have to Saque has to. He almost has
- 15:13Speaker 3: to push him in the back a little bit because
- 15:14Speaker 3: he's kind of waiting for him on some of those things.
- 15:16Speaker 3: But they were moving him all over the place. And
- 15:17Speaker 3: that's why I'm saying that that got the run game going.
- 15:20Speaker 2: And I thought he.
- 15:20Speaker 3: Played well, But then I can also look at it
- 15:22Speaker 3: and say Jurgens is just so much quicker than him
- 15:25Speaker 3: that I think that stuff some of those might even
- 15:27Speaker 3: pop evy.
- 15:27Speaker 4: I mean, durgons can make all those blocks that we
- 15:29Speaker 4: saw Toat, But you know he's there. You know, he'd
- 15:33Speaker 4: been a swing guard center and so he played some guard.
- 15:36Speaker 4: But I thought his best position. He's got really strong hands.
- 15:40Speaker 4: And I remember I was going into the tunnel after
- 15:44Speaker 4: kind of doing a walk before the game, at the
- 15:46Speaker 4: beginning of the beginning of the walk, and I see
- 15:48Speaker 4: Stout down there and he's yelling. He's like, get those
- 15:51Speaker 4: young pastors out here, like we got to go to work.
- 15:54Speaker 4: And so Toat is one of those guys out of here.
- 15:56Speaker 4: He loves working those guys out before the game. But
- 15:59Speaker 4: he played really well. He's he's a good young player.
- 16:02Speaker 2: Man boy.
- 16:03Speaker 1: They got to ask you this because there's been so
- 16:05Speaker 1: much made not only about the Eagles doing this, but
- 16:08Speaker 1: more teams going under center, not only for the play
- 16:11Speaker 1: action benefits, but how does it benefit the ring game?
- 16:15Speaker 4: Well, I mean, because you don't know if it's going
- 16:18Speaker 4: to be a runner pass and if you're going to
- 16:21Speaker 4: hand it off. I think Saquan likes being eight yards deep, Bucky,
- 16:24Speaker 4: like it just gives him a little bit more vision
- 16:26Speaker 4: for cutback runs and things like that. So it's a
- 16:28Speaker 4: good change rather than just being a point of entry
- 16:31Speaker 4: back out of the shotgun. So I think it's good
- 16:33Speaker 4: for the back and then you know, when he does
- 16:36Speaker 4: get that, he's got a little better head of steam coming,
- 16:39Speaker 4: you know, to hit the hole a little bit harder,
- 16:41Speaker 4: a little bit faster than normal. And then I think
- 16:44Speaker 4: that the play action pass off it right there. It
- 16:47Speaker 4: just allows the routes to get deeper down the field,
- 16:49Speaker 4: and you know, you can set your protections, whether it's
- 16:53Speaker 4: max protection or chipping off the edges so that the
- 16:56Speaker 4: quarterback can kind of set and you know, really get
- 16:59Speaker 4: a pretty good aerial view down the field.
- 17:02Speaker 3: Baldy, with the running backs you played with, I gotta
- 17:04Speaker 3: believe stylistically, everybody's kind of their own style. But I
- 17:07Speaker 3: was watching going through Barkley and Bigsby, and I thought
- 17:10Speaker 3: Barkley kind of stayed true to the to the call,
- 17:13Speaker 3: pressing it and then he even cut back was there.
- 17:14Speaker 3: It was there, And I'm watching Bigsby and I'm like,
- 17:17Speaker 3: he's just a pure daylight runner. I don't know where
- 17:19Speaker 3: that wherever it's designed, wherever he sees or feels daylight,
- 17:22Speaker 3: he will abandon that and go find daylight. As an
- 17:25Speaker 3: offensive line, I mean they're both went over one hundred yards.
- 17:27Speaker 3: They're more successful in this game. But it is you know,
- 17:30Speaker 3: is it interesting just blocking for different guys how they
- 17:33Speaker 3: hit things a little different?
- 17:34Speaker 4: No, it is different. It's different. Like you know, Bigsby
- 17:37Speaker 4: is he's kind of like a more like Gamewell's a
- 17:41Speaker 4: good player and Gamewell was that role for the last
- 17:44Speaker 4: four years. He's doing that in Pittsburgh now. But this
- 17:46Speaker 4: guy has I think he's he's more of a bowling
- 17:50Speaker 4: ball than Gainwell. He's more powerful and so, but he
- 17:53Speaker 4: does explode out of his well, you know Bucky, you know,
- 17:56Speaker 4: just down in Jacksville, but you know, he does explode.
- 17:59Speaker 4: He had a couple kick off returns as well. But
- 18:02Speaker 4: you know when he sees the daylight now he can
- 18:04Speaker 4: he gets to it quickly.
- 18:06Speaker 1: Yeah, I would say the biggest thing for him down
- 18:08Speaker 1: in Jacksonville, he had a hard time not being annointed
- 18:11Speaker 1: the number one gal and I think it's very clear
- 18:14Speaker 1: for him in Philadelphia to know, I'm not going to
- 18:17Speaker 1: be the number one with Saquon Barkley there. So he's
- 18:20Speaker 1: probably more accepting of the role as the number two.
- 18:24Speaker 1: But I can't tell you this. He gives you a
- 18:26Speaker 1: power back. He's physical and when he is dialed in
- 18:30Speaker 1: and really taking care of the ball.
- 18:32Speaker 5: He's a guy that can be a one A one
- 18:34Speaker 5: B type player.
- 18:35Speaker 1: And the Eagles being able to bring him in it
- 18:37Speaker 1: allows them not have to change their offense when they
- 18:40Speaker 1: want to go downhill, smash mouth Barkley, Bixby, Barkley, Bigsby.
- 18:44Speaker 1: I think it's going to help Saquon Barkley more. They
- 18:47Speaker 1: have a guy that is a starting caliber running back
- 18:51Speaker 1: behind him instead of the drastic drop off that they
- 18:54Speaker 1: used to have with a change of pace back.
- 18:56Speaker 4: I'll say this about Jalen in the last two games now,
- 19:00Speaker 4: he's got nine incompletions in seven touchdowns. Like people can
- 19:04Speaker 4: they can debate, you know what ranking he is and
- 19:07Speaker 4: quarterbacks like. All the guy does is he takes care
- 19:10Speaker 4: of the football and he wins a lot of football games.
- 19:13Speaker 4: And that's all he's ever done. And people might not
- 19:16Speaker 4: like his style, might not look like some of the
- 19:18Speaker 4: gun slingers in this league, but man, that guy is
- 19:22Speaker 4: he's he's he's hard to knock out.
- 19:23Speaker 3: Right now, I think they've kind of mastered and Sirianni,
- 19:28Speaker 3: I give him a lot of credit for this. They've
- 19:29Speaker 3: kind of mastered understand the difference between the regular season
- 19:32Speaker 3: and the postseason. The regular seasons about your floor. It's
- 19:35Speaker 3: don't make don't make mistakes, and play it that consist.
- 19:38Speaker 3: You'll win a lot of games by not giving games
- 19:40Speaker 3: away and rate yourself. Now you get in the postseason,
- 19:42Speaker 3: there's going to be times where Jalen's goa to throw
- 19:44Speaker 3: it more. You got to be more aggressive, and you've
- 19:45Speaker 3: got to play it a little bit differently, which they've
- 19:47Speaker 3: proven they can do that. But I think they've got
- 19:49Speaker 3: a pretty good understanding of how to handle you know,
- 19:51Speaker 3: talk about baseball like you had handle the one sixty
- 19:53Speaker 3: two and then there's October. Those are two different sports
- 19:56Speaker 3: to some degree. I think at the quarterback position, I
- 19:58Speaker 3: think there's something to that as well. They've done a
- 20:00Speaker 3: nice job with that. Let's say, quick break, we come back,
- 20:02Speaker 3: We'll not got a couple more games, all right, Buck,
- 20:08Speaker 3: This one I think is the I'll say the surprise.
- 20:12Speaker 3: If Denver was the most impressive win of the week,
- 20:14Speaker 3: this clearly was a surprise to me and not necessarily
- 20:17Speaker 3: even that the Jets beat the Cincinnati Bengals, but the
- 20:20Speaker 3: fact that the Jets hung thirty nine on the board
- 20:23Speaker 3: with what we'd seen from their offense, that was a
- 20:26Speaker 3: heck of a first win there for Aaron Glenn.
- 20:28Speaker 1: Yeah, look a great first win. And I'll say this
- 20:31Speaker 1: about the Jets, like coming in they had four games
- 20:33Speaker 1: where they lost, they were within a score. A couple
- 20:36Speaker 1: of those were two point games that they lost. And
- 20:38Speaker 1: so even though the sky was seemingly falling in New York,
- 20:41Speaker 1: if you really did a deep dive in terms of
- 20:43Speaker 1: how they were playing, it wasn't as bad as it appeared.
- 20:47Speaker 1: Cincinnati was like the perfect opponent for them because their
- 20:50Speaker 1: defense is awful and their defense has been trash. And
- 20:54Speaker 1: so at a time when your much milid quarterback was desperate,
- 20:58Speaker 1: didn't even know if he was going to start, Rod
- 21:00Speaker 1: Taylor was ruled out, he found a way to have
- 21:03Speaker 1: some confidence, made a couple of plays, they got the
- 21:05Speaker 1: ball the Brisaw's hands, and then they just made enough
- 21:08Speaker 1: plays to win a game. Now, what does this do
- 21:11Speaker 1: for them beyond that, I don't know, but I think
- 21:14Speaker 1: it speaks a little bit about the resilience of some
- 21:17Speaker 1: of the players.
- 21:18Speaker 5: But more about the Cincinnati Bengals. What are we doing?
- 21:21Speaker 1: They did a really good defensive coordinator walk out the door,
- 21:23Speaker 1: and Al Golden is good. But man, they put a
- 21:26Speaker 1: lot of blame on lou An Arumo, and all I
- 21:29Speaker 1: do is I look over at Indianapolis and they are
- 21:31Speaker 1: bawling out on defense.
- 21:35Speaker 4: I watched this game. I had to do some breakdowns
- 21:37Speaker 4: for the Jets. They've ran the ball thirty seven times
- 21:40Speaker 4: for two hundred and fifty four yards, by far, the
- 21:42Speaker 4: most all year. And this is Isaiah I don't know
- 21:46Speaker 4: what you had on Isaiah Davis DJ coming out of
- 21:51Speaker 4: South Dakosta State. Yeah, I mean that guy had the
- 21:54Speaker 4: longest play from scrimmage for the Jets this year. I
- 21:57Speaker 4: mean it was a weak side slant. He went fifty
- 22:00Speaker 4: and he hit a burst. I didn't know we had
- 22:02Speaker 4: that burst, but he went fifty and then a couple
- 22:05Speaker 4: plays later, breeze halls. I got my I could do
- 22:07Speaker 4: that too, and he went for thirty five, and so
- 22:10Speaker 4: I thought they you know, they were down fifteen late
- 22:13Speaker 4: in the third quarter, they're down fourteen in the fourth quarter,
- 22:16Speaker 4: and they dang at that defense, and good luck, you know,
- 22:20Speaker 4: telling me who their starters are the guys that are
- 22:22Speaker 4: on the field in that game, because you got Azariah
- 22:25Speaker 4: Thomas out there, you got Marinoa out there, you got
- 22:28Speaker 4: a lot of guys that you know, I don't think
- 22:31Speaker 4: people know who they are. But they got two stops
- 22:33Speaker 4: at the end of the game. They got the ball
- 22:35Speaker 4: back to the offense, you know. I mean that's Joe
- 22:37Speaker 4: Flacco and Jamar and t you know, the whole group
- 22:39Speaker 4: out there, and they made two stops to go down
- 22:42Speaker 4: there and do it. They got their two point conversions.
- 22:45Speaker 4: Breece popped a twenty seven yard touchdown run to cut
- 22:48Speaker 4: it to you know, one touchdown. And you know, I
- 22:51Speaker 4: don't know really who some of these receivers are. Tyler
- 22:53Speaker 4: Smith and you know some of these guys that they
- 22:55Speaker 4: had out there. But I mean Justin hit him on
- 22:58Speaker 4: in stride a couple of times.
- 22:59Speaker 3: Man, I gotta find what year this is, because now
- 23:02Speaker 3: it's gonna bug me because I know I've got him here.
- 23:04Speaker 2: What Isaiah, it's Isaiah Davis, right.
- 23:06Speaker 4: Yeah, Davis. He was He came out with Rayln Allen,
- 23:11Speaker 4: so he was last.
- 23:12Speaker 3: Four, twenty four, twenty four, all right, Now, now I'm
- 23:16Speaker 3: gonna find him, right now I'm thinking up here.
- 23:18Speaker 4: You might have been third round, third or fourth round DJ.
- 23:21Speaker 2: Yeah, Isaiah Davis. Right here, here we go.
- 23:23Speaker 3: Uh six oh two, two hundred and eighteen pounds, ran
- 23:27Speaker 3: four five seven Uh uh choppy feet, lateral quicks. They
- 23:32Speaker 3: use him in some wildcat stuff in the red zone.
- 23:34Speaker 3: Can bounce off tackles, runs a little high, but he'll
- 23:36Speaker 3: step through, attacking smother linebackers and pass pro So that was, uh,
- 23:42Speaker 3: that was some of my notes on damn.
- 23:45Speaker 4: They called a play on a shallow cross for him
- 23:47Speaker 4: on like third and seven, like one of those you know,
- 23:50Speaker 4: you know crossers like two from one st one from
- 23:53Speaker 4: the other and you know, just ran through some traffic.
- 23:55Speaker 4: They called to play for the guy, you know on
- 23:57Speaker 4: the spot. I'm like, all right, good call.
- 24:00Speaker 2: You know, you know we used to call it. We
- 24:01Speaker 2: used to call that. Uh, we used to call that bopper.
- 24:04Speaker 3: So you'd have like the backs going opposite, so you'd
- 24:06Speaker 3: have like a back or a tight end, a tight
- 24:07Speaker 3: end in a back, and so they'd be going like this,
- 24:09Speaker 3: so you'd read it. You'd have a little sit route
- 24:11Speaker 3: over the middle of the field bald. Then it was
- 24:13Speaker 3: just hey, if it's zone, I'm gonna just take the
- 24:15Speaker 3: whoever's sitting down here, and if it's man, you're gonna
- 24:17Speaker 3: get a little bit of a rub there. I missed
- 24:19Speaker 3: more than my fair share of that back, just wide
- 24:21Speaker 3: open out there in a flat, simple simple throw. Hey,
- 24:27Speaker 3: either one, raise your hand if you want to take
- 24:29Speaker 3: this one, though, how do you how do you go
- 24:32Speaker 3: in this ballgame and have one quarterback hit when you're
- 24:35Speaker 3: the Cincinnati Bengals. They touched the quarterback one time in
- 24:39Speaker 3: this game. I know we've talked about the coordinator thing.
- 24:41Speaker 3: I know we've talked about Okay, we've got some roster stuff,
- 24:43Speaker 3: but that almost speaks to me like it's a cultural
- 24:46Speaker 3: issue a little bit like how hard are you guys playing.
- 24:48Speaker 3: I don't care who you got up there, you got
- 24:50Speaker 3: to be able touch the quarterback more than once.
- 24:52Speaker 4: They got two rookie linebackers in there right now. Trey Henderson,
- 24:56Speaker 4: if he played, nobody you would not know that he played.
- 24:59Speaker 4: He was out there, but I mean he had no
- 25:01Speaker 4: impact whatsoever. I mean, everybody had been beating for Shano
- 25:05Speaker 4: the last couple of weeks, like he's really struggled out
- 25:07Speaker 4: there in pass protection, but he didn't have any problem
- 25:09Speaker 4: locking guys up and you know, I thought the they
- 25:14Speaker 4: went max they maxed it up a little bit. That
- 25:16Speaker 4: kind of helped. But I mean, you didn't see you
- 25:19Speaker 4: didn't see any of those guys make and really any
- 25:21Speaker 4: kind of blitzes or anything where you know, just getting
- 25:24Speaker 4: some speed to the quarterback just a free hitter. You
- 25:26Speaker 4: didn't see any kind of overloads like that. But maybe
- 25:29Speaker 4: they're sitting with a fourteen fifteen point lead and in
- 25:32Speaker 4: the third quarter thing and we'll just keep it in
- 25:33Speaker 4: front of us and you know, we'll just rush forward.
- 25:36Speaker 4: I mean, that was part of the idea until you know,
- 25:38Speaker 4: until it was too late.
- 25:41Speaker 1: Yeah, But in that even in that, they don't play
- 25:45Speaker 1: like they need to play. In a division that is
- 25:47Speaker 1: known for being rough and rugged, the Bengals don't necessarily
- 25:50Speaker 1: bring that all the time and that effort, that energy,
- 25:53Speaker 1: and I know we eventually talked about Baltimore it is
- 25:56Speaker 1: the day to more. But that has to be there
- 25:58Speaker 1: when you're in these critical situations. They're not at a
- 26:01Speaker 1: point where they can take a game off and say,
- 26:04Speaker 1: oh we still go go to the playoffs. So the
- 26:06Speaker 1: urgency has to be there, particularly on the defense that's
- 26:08Speaker 1: playing against a very a struggling quarterback.
- 26:11Speaker 5: You got to get after.
- 26:13Speaker 2: I'll give it.
- 26:13Speaker 3: I'll give the fullback who is it Beck for nice
- 26:17Speaker 3: blocks in that game too, on some of those big runs.
- 26:19Speaker 3: I thought they're tight ends hung in there and blocked
- 26:21Speaker 3: pretty well.
- 26:22Speaker 4: We had talked about, you know, the half back pass
- 26:25Speaker 4: Bries Hall to Mason Taylor. I mean, that was that
- 26:29Speaker 4: was too.
- 26:29Speaker 3: Easy of a joke, because when the owner comes out
- 26:31Speaker 3: and says, we can't complete a pass, and then here's
- 26:33Speaker 3: Brice Hall throwing a touchdown to win you.
- 26:34Speaker 4: It was along the uglier passes I've seen, but he
- 26:37Speaker 4: gave Mason Taylor a chance.
- 26:39Speaker 3: He finished it too. All right, let's get one more game.
- 26:41Speaker 3: We'll send Baldy on his way here Chicago Baltimore again. Baldi,
- 26:45Speaker 3: we were chatting this morning. I we can go wherever
- 26:48Speaker 3: you want to go. We can go good Baltimore defense,
- 26:50Speaker 3: we can go bad Bears. Quarterback play wherever you want
- 26:53Speaker 3: to go.
- 26:54Speaker 4: I mean, I'll start like Snoop puntley Man. Snoop played great,
- 26:58Speaker 4: you know, and me and he had ten really good
- 27:02Speaker 4: throws in that game, and he got it through all
- 27:03Speaker 4: the wide receivers. They they kind of pulled out you know,
- 27:08Speaker 4: like Keaton Mitchell was kind of a forgotten guy all
- 27:11Speaker 4: year long. WI He's either nobody knows how fast he
- 27:17Speaker 4: is because they take the wrong angles, but he turns
- 27:20Speaker 4: the corner three different times in that game, one for
- 27:22Speaker 4: twenty five yards, pops a run on the outside. Then
- 27:27Speaker 4: you know, you got Charlie Kohlar, who's doing the old
- 27:29Speaker 4: you know, just sneaking across the formation and a wide
- 27:33Speaker 4: opening the end zone. And then you got Nuke, who
- 27:35Speaker 4: basically has been a forgotten guy. But on third and
- 27:38Speaker 4: seven with a one score game, they throw back shoulder
- 27:41Speaker 4: to Nuke and he comes up with a big play
- 27:43Speaker 4: to extend the drive and play keep away from Chicago.
- 27:46Speaker 4: I thought that was all really impressive. And then they
- 27:49Speaker 4: blitzed the hell out of Caleb. I mean, like, you know,
- 27:51Speaker 4: whether it was rokwand or whether it was Hamilton, Like
- 27:54Speaker 4: they got after pretty good, you know, and because even
- 27:59Speaker 4: Mike Green got his first. But I thought they got
- 28:01Speaker 4: after Kale pretty good and never really let them get comfortable.
- 28:06Speaker 1: You know what I liked about the Baltimore Ravens is
- 28:08Speaker 1: they got back to business in terms of who they are.
- 28:10Speaker 1: And I always feel like there are certain franchises that
- 28:13Speaker 1: when they're back into a corner, they go back to
- 28:15Speaker 1: the identity that's been long established in their franchise. They
- 28:19Speaker 1: ran the football, they played rough and rugged defense, they
- 28:22Speaker 1: got after it.
- 28:23Speaker 5: It appeared to the defensive plan.
- 28:24Speaker 1: Was very simple, so they could get back to playing
- 28:26Speaker 1: fast and physical, and I love that. The only question
- 28:30Speaker 1: that I ever have about Baltimore Ravens is why would
- 28:33Speaker 1: you go get a backup quarterback that stylistically is so different.
- 28:37Speaker 5: Than we're starting quarterbacks?
- 28:39Speaker 1: Because then you see Snoop Puntley playing the offense that
- 28:42Speaker 1: was originally built for Lamar Jackson, and the offense continues
- 28:45Speaker 1: to roll. I just wonder what the thought process was,
- 28:49Speaker 1: because it never really, it never really logically fit why
- 28:53Speaker 1: Cooper Rush would be the backup to Lamar Jackson when
- 28:57Speaker 1: Snoop Unley and other athletic quarterbacks been serviceable fits behind him.
- 29:03Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 29:03Speaker 3: I think it's a great point. I haven't really people
- 29:06Speaker 3: heard people talk much about it either. I think it's
- 29:07Speaker 3: an excellent point. And two things from me on this.
- 29:11Speaker 3: Number One, I don't think you can overstate how important
- 29:14Speaker 3: it was on the first drive to get a stop
- 29:16Speaker 3: because Chicago moved right down the field and that's Ben Johnson,
- 29:20Speaker 3: that is his mo man. They come out the gates
- 29:22Speaker 3: wherever he is, They come out the gates smoking, and
- 29:24Speaker 3: you got a Ravens defense. It's lacking in confidence. You
- 29:27Speaker 3: get a lot of pieces back. Roquan being back in
- 29:29Speaker 3: there was huge. We'll get to that. But for them
- 29:31Speaker 3: to march right down the field and then I believe
- 29:33Speaker 3: Chicago had a penalty inside the ten that maybe bumped
- 29:36Speaker 3: them back a little bit.
- 29:37Speaker 2: They ended up getting that.
- 29:37Speaker 3: I think that's where they got the sack and they
- 29:40Speaker 3: and they get a stop on that first series force
- 29:42Speaker 3: of three. So that was huge to me. It was
- 29:44Speaker 3: just kind of like, Okay, it's not a here we
- 29:45Speaker 3: go again. We can't stop anybody. Take the air out
- 29:48Speaker 3: of the of the balloon, so to speak. And then
- 29:50Speaker 3: Rokuan Baldi we you know, we were talking about this morning.
- 29:54Speaker 3: That was one of the more fun watches for me
- 29:56Speaker 3: this morning was going through and watching what he did.
- 29:58Speaker 2: I know you got a chance to see him too,
- 29:59Speaker 2: but he's he is.
- 30:00Speaker 3: A you know we talk about force multipliers like, it's
- 30:03Speaker 3: not only what he does, it's what he brings.
- 30:05Speaker 2: But it was impressive.
- 30:06Speaker 4: Yeah, he let him out. He let him up pretty good.
- 30:09Speaker 4: That had been a pretty good running attack. They popped
- 30:11Speaker 4: a couple runs, but you know, Manong Guy and DeAndre Swift,
- 30:16Speaker 4: there wasn't the lanes that they had been getting the
- 30:18Speaker 4: last two games. When Swift went over one hundred yards
- 30:20Speaker 4: and both previous games, I thought the play of the
- 30:23Speaker 4: game was was Nate Wiggins, though, I mean they only
- 30:26Speaker 4: have two interceptions all year. Wiggins has it. It's a
- 30:29Speaker 4: dig route to Doomsay and Caleb's looking at him all
- 30:32Speaker 4: the way. He's got good time and Wiggins, I mean
- 30:35Speaker 4: he I don't know what he ran.
- 30:37Speaker 2: Did he want to two?
- 30:39Speaker 4: Yeah, you see too, because he's done his upfield shoulder
- 30:42Speaker 4: buck and he's trailing him and then you just see
- 30:45Speaker 4: this burst and he runs right in front of a
- 30:47Speaker 4: Doomsay and that set him up for you know, it
- 30:49Speaker 4: was a one score game. It's a second down play.
- 30:52Speaker 4: You can stop him right there in Chicago's going to
- 30:54Speaker 4: get good field positioning twenty three sixteen and that really
- 30:58Speaker 4: turned the whole game around right there. Or two eight,
- 31:01Speaker 4: well too eight That looked for to eight.
- 31:03Speaker 1: And and here's the thing, because normally you end up
- 31:06Speaker 1: being critical to the wide receiver for drifting up the field.
- 31:10Speaker 1: But I can't even say that they ran a bad watch.
- 31:12Speaker 1: It was nice and flat. It was a great play
- 31:15Speaker 1: by Nate Wiggins to do it. And even though people
- 31:18Speaker 1: have talked about Caleb and the throw, the throw wasn't
- 31:21Speaker 1: off the mark. I felt like it was a better
- 31:23Speaker 1: play than it was, just a great play by Nate Wiggins.
- 31:28Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean you could. I mean you're talking about
- 31:29Speaker 3: a maybe a foot could have been a foot more
- 31:33Speaker 3: out in front. But I think he gets it either way.
- 31:34Speaker 3: Because Wiggins was tracking it so well, he had to
- 31:37Speaker 3: back in the flat.
- 31:38Speaker 2: He could have taken it. I can see.
- 31:40Speaker 3: Just to me, we always talk about this Baldy Bucky,
- 31:43Speaker 3: and I always go back to what the coach that
- 31:45Speaker 3: I had would always take the quarterbacks before the game.
- 31:47Speaker 3: We'd always walk the field, and so we'd always say, like, okay,
- 31:50Speaker 3: we'll start. We're starting our own like five. Okay, we
- 31:53Speaker 3: got a possession that starts here. The first thing is
- 31:55Speaker 3: we're getting the first down. To help the punter, we're
- 31:57Speaker 3: extra cautious with the ball. He kind of moved out. Okay,
- 31:59Speaker 3: we're in the middle of the field. We might be
- 32:00Speaker 3: thinking about a shot. Okay, now, we're in here, don't
- 32:02Speaker 3: don't take a sack. Well, weird field will range like that,
- 32:05Speaker 3: just like a situation. I'm hoping that Caleb, the more
- 32:08Speaker 3: he's in these situations, he's going to realize, Okay, like,
- 32:11Speaker 3: what's a one score game. We got a chance to
- 32:13Speaker 3: go down and get the league. One thing we got
- 32:14Speaker 3: to do is we gotta get a first down before
- 32:16Speaker 3: we get a touchdown. Let's not get greed. I thought
- 32:18Speaker 3: he was pressing, pushing that ball a little bit instead
- 32:21Speaker 3: of just taking the back. Let's get a first down,
- 32:23Speaker 3: you know what I mean? Like that, I think that
- 32:24Speaker 3: I'm hopeful because some of this stuff keeps popping.
- 32:27Speaker 2: Up with him.
- 32:27Speaker 3: I'm hoping that it's just an experienced thing and he's gonna,
- 32:30Speaker 3: you know, he's going to kind of learn and grow
- 32:32Speaker 3: from it.
- 32:33Speaker 4: Now. You see that the talent does show, like some
- 32:35Speaker 4: of the throws he made getting out of a jam
- 32:38Speaker 4: and on the run like you I mean, and some
- 32:41Speaker 4: of his movement is like crazy, but it's just not
- 32:44Speaker 4: Sometimes just the easy throws he makes it difficult.
- 32:48Speaker 2: Yeah he had, he had a deep ball he missed.
- 32:50Speaker 2: He had.
- 32:51Speaker 3: Yeah, look there's there are you can cut up ten
- 32:53Speaker 3: plays and show ten huge throws, big time throws. But
- 32:56Speaker 3: then there's just some of those layups you just want
- 32:57Speaker 3: to see him make it, including towards the end of
- 32:59Speaker 3: the game when he changes armor angal for I know,
- 33:01Speaker 3: they necessarily needed to change his arm angle on that one,
- 33:04Speaker 3: and the ball misses a Doonsday who's wide open in
- 33:06Speaker 3: the back of the end zone. But he continued to
- 33:08Speaker 3: a Doonesay continue to play well. He had seven for
- 33:10Speaker 3: a buck fourteen. He's on pace for eleven hundred yards
- 33:12Speaker 3: and twelve touchdowns. So Roman Dunsay's having a really nice
- 33:16Speaker 3: year there. But that's a big win for the Ravens
- 33:17Speaker 3: and all of a sudden, this team that was one
- 33:19Speaker 3: in five.
- 33:20Speaker 2: You look up in this.
- 33:21Speaker 3: Division and how Pittsburgh's playing in Cleveland, Cincinnati, and you're like, oh,
- 33:24Speaker 3: you guys might have left open back in there.
- 33:27Speaker 4: You know you got your card back in there. Now,
- 33:30Speaker 4: like all of a sudden, you can see this thing.
- 33:32Speaker 4: You can see the Ravens coming out of this crypt.
- 33:34Speaker 4: I mean it's week to week, but you can see
- 33:36Speaker 4: them coming out of this thing right now.
- 33:38Speaker 2: Yeah, no question, Baldy. Last thing. Then I'll let you
- 33:40Speaker 2: run the U this league this year.
- 33:44Speaker 3: We were talking about the Patriots, and we'll get to
- 33:45Speaker 3: them and tomorrow's episode of Bucky and Myself. But the
- 33:48Speaker 3: schedule this year, maybe more so than any other, there's
- 33:51Speaker 3: a there's a good number of bad teams, and your
- 33:53Speaker 3: schedule is an important factor and how far you're going
- 33:56Speaker 3: to go this year, some of these teams on the
- 33:58Speaker 3: express right to the playoffs.
- 34:00Speaker 4: Well, New England's right in the middle of it right now,
- 34:03Speaker 4: you know, because you know they they've got they just
- 34:05Speaker 4: whipped Cleveland, you know, and Atlanta is that you know,
- 34:09Speaker 4: they got them at home and you could just see
- 34:10Speaker 4: them stack at these wins. They got a big game
- 34:12Speaker 4: in Tampa, you know, and then they got to Jets
- 34:15Speaker 4: in Cincinnati. Like, you know, they're seeing some of these
- 34:17Speaker 4: teams that are at the bottom of the you know,
- 34:19Speaker 4: just the bottom of the barrel right now, but you know,
- 34:23Speaker 4: you get one like I don't know what Atlanta I
- 34:25Speaker 4: got to watch Atlanta heads, I don't. I don't want
- 34:27Speaker 4: to jump ahead of myself here, but yeah, they've had
- 34:30Speaker 4: some real stinkers and clunkers here short the course of
- 34:32Speaker 4: the season.
- 34:34Speaker 3: Yeah, that's to say the least. All right, Hey, this
- 34:36Speaker 3: has been fun. Baldi love these mondays, each and everybody
- 34:38Speaker 3: can appreciate your time.
- 34:39Speaker 2: Man, we're seeing their ship well bucket. It's always great
- 34:41Speaker 2: to have baldy man.
- 34:42Speaker 3: Good chance to uh to break these games down and
- 34:45Speaker 3: kind of a different week, right, we didn't have quite
- 34:47Speaker 3: as many games, so a chance to lock in on
- 34:50Speaker 3: the on the ones we did have.
- 34:52Speaker 1: Yeah, absolutely, And with a with a smalls slate, smaller ben,
- 34:55Speaker 1: you're able to kind of dive a little deeper into
- 34:57Speaker 1: those games because you had a chance to see all
- 34:59Speaker 1: of those games instead of flipping around. So it was
- 35:01Speaker 1: a great weekend, uh, And I'm looking forward to more
- 35:04Speaker 1: five weeks so we can kind of narrow focus a
- 35:07Speaker 1: little bit.
- 35:07Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 35:08Speaker 3: And by the way, in the UH file, forty or
- 35:10Speaker 3: so minutes we've been doing this, I don't think a
- 35:12Speaker 3: college coach was fired, So you know, hey, they made
- 35:14Speaker 3: it forty minutes without somebody getting whacked. Good night dropping
- 35:17Speaker 3: like flies, brother, DJ.
- 35:20Speaker 5: There are a lot of great jobs. Who's gonna take
- 35:24Speaker 5: all these jobs?
- 35:25Speaker 3: Like apparently Lane gets all of them. I think Lane's
- 35:27Speaker 3: coaching fourteen next year.
- 35:30Speaker 1: Who are going to get all of these jobs? It's
- 35:33Speaker 1: crazy because if it's not Lane, it's Marcus Freeman. They
- 35:36Speaker 1: keep citing it. I'm like, Marcus Freeman is going to
- 35:38Speaker 1: leave your.
- 35:38Speaker 5: Name another name? Yeah, so what what are we talking about?
- 35:44Speaker 3: No, it's a good day to be Clark Lee. I
- 35:47Speaker 3: promise you that. It's a you hear his name too.
- 35:50Speaker 3: Now they're doing messing around. So I know one thing.
- 35:54Speaker 3: These a lot of dudes are going to get opportunities
- 35:57Speaker 3: for jobs, or they're gonna get opportunities for raises. They
- 36:00Speaker 3: are and that is a good time to be a
- 36:02Speaker 3: good college.
- 36:03Speaker 5: Coach right now. That's a good spot to be.
- 36:05Speaker 2: In for no question. All right, that'll do it for
- 36:08Speaker 2: us today. We'll see it tomorrow right here on. Move
- 36:10Speaker 2: the sticks.
- 36:12Speaker 5: Mhm.
