- 0:00Speaker 1: Come on you.
- 0:02Speaker 2: Uh huh, I sure will come on and everybody you'll
- 0:07Speaker 2: listen to the voice. Come on, dig me now, one
- 0:09Speaker 2: and only Steve Harvey. Uh got a radio show? Yep, yep.
- 0:18Speaker 2: Sometimes all I can say, help, man, how far I've
- 0:22Speaker 2: come is really unbelievable. But you know I finally figured
- 0:25Speaker 2: it out. Man. God allowed me to have the life
- 0:31Speaker 2: I've had so that I can become experienced at so
- 0:36Speaker 2: many different things. And in this experience, when I'm talking
- 0:40Speaker 2: and sharing with people, I will be able to relate
- 0:44Speaker 2: to a lot of different circumstances, not exact, but just
- 0:47Speaker 2: the circumstances. You know. You know if a person comes
- 0:51Speaker 2: to me and they say, man, I've been down and out, Okay,
- 0:53Speaker 2: well I know what that is.
- 0:55Speaker 1: Man. I didn't I didn't have any direction. Okay, got
- 0:58Speaker 1: that been there? Man?
- 1:00Speaker 2: At one point in time, Man, I just kept piling
- 1:02Speaker 2: mistake on top of mistakes.
- 1:05Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:07Speaker 2: So you know, I think what I'm trying to say
- 1:11Speaker 2: to everybody is when you're going through life and life
- 1:15Speaker 2: is dealing the cards that it deals, I want you
- 1:18Speaker 2: to understand that life deals everybody these cards, the disappointment card,
- 1:25Speaker 2: the setback card, the failure card, the mishap card, the
- 1:32Speaker 2: unexpected misery card, everybody gonna get, the grief card, everybody
- 1:38Speaker 2: gonna get, the rash of bad decision card, everybody gonna
- 1:42Speaker 2: get them. Understand that going in that everybody is gonna
- 1:48Speaker 2: get these cards is how you play them, though, you know,
- 1:56Speaker 2: from time to time, one more time, it's how you
- 1:58Speaker 2: play them, you know.
- 2:00Speaker 1: From time to time.
- 2:01Speaker 2: When I'm watching TV, I love to watch the World
- 2:04Speaker 2: Series of Poker. I like watching poker tournaments on TV
- 2:09Speaker 2: because it's really weird. What's happened to sport? To a
- 2:14Speaker 2: poker they're actually trying to call it a sport, you know.
- 2:18Speaker 2: And as to everyday guy that doesn't have to be
- 2:20Speaker 2: athletically inclined to anything, who has a shot of winning
- 2:25Speaker 2: a title if they play their cards right. The best
- 2:30Speaker 2: poker players in the world don't have the best hands.
- 2:35Speaker 2: They just make the best plays. I've seen guys win
- 2:40Speaker 2: a hand with nine to two in they hand that's nothing,
- 2:43Speaker 2: and win their hand because they knew the bluff, they
- 2:47Speaker 2: knew the odds, they calculated risks, they made the stakes
- 2:52Speaker 2: higher than the other person was willing to pay. They
- 2:55Speaker 2: gave off the illusion that they had something with an
- 2:59Speaker 2: actuality they had nothing. So what I enjoy about poker
- 3:05Speaker 2: and watching it is that these people, these people here,
- 3:10Speaker 2: play the hand they dealt and it ain't always a
- 3:14Speaker 2: good hand. But it ain't whether your hand is good.
- 3:17Speaker 2: And it ain't whether you're gonna get dealt bad cards
- 3:19Speaker 2: or not, because you're gonna get dealt some bad cars.
- 3:22Speaker 2: Everybody ain't finna get two bullets in their hand. You
- 3:24Speaker 2: ain't finna get two aces when you get dealt. Uh.
- 3:27Speaker 2: You know, when you play a draw poker, some of
- 3:29Speaker 2: your cards gonna be nothing, but you gotta turn that
- 3:32Speaker 2: nothing into something. So when you get dealt these cards
- 3:35Speaker 2: in life, it ain't the fact that you getting to
- 3:37Speaker 2: keep getting them dealt. I was talking with a young
- 3:39Speaker 2: person yesterday and we were talking and we keep having
- 3:43Speaker 2: the same conversation over and over and over, and they
- 3:46Speaker 2: cannot understand why they were not moving forward. But I said,
- 3:50Speaker 2: you don't understand. Every time we talk we have the
- 3:53Speaker 2: exact same conversation.
- 3:55Speaker 1: It is simply because you keep getting your cards and
- 3:59Speaker 1: you playing them the same way.
- 4:02Speaker 2: See, until you make a conscience of the conscious decision
- 4:07Speaker 2: to do something different, the results will continue to be
- 4:10Speaker 2: the same. See here's here's here's the way this works.
- 4:17Speaker 2: When you're dealt to disappointments in life. It's how you
- 4:21Speaker 2: handle the disappointments that determine their outcome and who you are.
- 4:25Speaker 2: Because everybody gonna be disappointment, Everybody gonna lose a loved one,
- 4:29Speaker 2: Everybody gonna make a bad decision, Everybody going to the
- 4:32Speaker 2: end wake up one morning and have done something they regretted.
- 4:35Speaker 1: Everybody gonna get caught at the wrong time. Every everybody
- 4:40Speaker 1: gonna make a mistake. It ain't just you.
- 4:42Speaker 2: That's how you play your cards when they get dealt
- 4:45Speaker 2: to you. That determine who you are. Now, how do
- 4:48Speaker 2: I play my cards better? First of all, it's a mindset.
- 4:52Speaker 2: Quit looking at everything as just the end when it
- 4:55Speaker 2: happens to you.
- 4:56Speaker 1: Oh lord, woe is me?
- 4:58Speaker 2: No, everybody got your circumstances somewhere.
- 5:03Speaker 1: It ain't old woe as me. It's hold on, man.
- 5:05Speaker 2: Okay, let me play this out to see how God
- 5:09Speaker 2: done connected this to something else. See soon as a
- 5:11Speaker 2: person have a setback, what's the first thing A lot
- 5:13Speaker 2: of people do. They go straight negative. I can't see
- 5:16Speaker 2: even get a break. I can't seem to move forward.
- 5:18Speaker 2: Hold on, man, do you realize this could be connected
- 5:21Speaker 2: to something? See, you got to understand, man, that this
- 5:25Speaker 2: thing is all connected. That you not having these mishaps
- 5:28Speaker 2: and these spills and accidents and falls for no reason.
- 5:32Speaker 2: It's so you can become experienced at them. So when
- 5:35Speaker 2: he takes you to the next level, when it happens again,
- 5:37Speaker 2: you have no how and how to handle it. If
- 5:40Speaker 2: you keep throwing yourself off the cliff every time something happened,
- 5:44Speaker 2: you just gonna be a cliff dival.
- 5:46Speaker 1: Man.
- 5:47Speaker 2: Stop tripping yourself out. I was talking to this young person.
- 5:50Speaker 2: I kept saying, and you know what, they tried to
- 5:52Speaker 2: tell me. I'm trying to stay positive. But the people
- 5:56Speaker 2: around here they just killing that.
- 5:58Speaker 1: Oh. I see.
- 5:59Speaker 2: So when you learn something and you know something, you
- 6:03Speaker 2: don't take ownership of it. You allow other people to
- 6:06Speaker 2: come into what you know and believe and shake it
- 6:10Speaker 2: loose from you. I don't care who you are. You
- 6:11Speaker 2: not doing me like that. Here's a deal. I have
- 6:15Speaker 2: a gift that was given to me from God. That
- 6:17Speaker 2: is the gift of comedy. That's what I've done. I've
- 6:19Speaker 2: made the bulk of my living on that skill set.
- 6:23Speaker 2: Right there, there are comedians who are supposedly friends of mine,
- 6:27Speaker 2: who I've worked with, who get around in huddles with
- 6:30Speaker 2: one another and they say, man, Steve really ain't funny.
- 6:33Speaker 2: I don't see what they be laughing at. He ain't
- 6:35Speaker 2: funny to me. He wasn't the funniest king to me.
- 6:38Speaker 2: Excuse me, you're irrelevant in this conversation because irregardless as
- 6:44Speaker 2: to how you feel about me, there are people think
- 6:46Speaker 2: that I'm knocked down kill over funny. But more importantly,
- 6:50Speaker 2: I own the gift that God gave to me. I
- 6:53Speaker 2: take ownership of his blessing. Cause you don't think it's so.
- 6:57Speaker 2: You ain't taking that from me. Stop let meletting people
- 7:00Speaker 2: steal your joy. Stop letting people take what you're supposed
- 7:04Speaker 2: to know. Look, I'm a I'm a kind person at heart. Man,
- 7:10Speaker 2: You ain't nothing now you said it? Here going man,
- 7:12Speaker 2: I guess I ain't. What's your tripping for?
- 7:14Speaker 1: You are a kind person, own that take ownership of it.
- 7:20Speaker 2: Stop letting things God has given you be taken away
- 7:24Speaker 2: from others. The devil is a cold player, and he
- 7:27Speaker 2: got cold players working for him, just shaking, just taking
- 7:30Speaker 2: stuff from you. You know, I'm a hard worker. I
- 7:33Speaker 2: really am intelligent.
- 7:34Speaker 1: You stupid man. I thought I was a hard worker. Man.
- 7:38Speaker 1: They came in here and said I was stupid. Man.
- 7:39Speaker 1: I don't know what I'm doing wrong. What excuse me?
- 7:43Speaker 1: You're a very bright person. Hey, y'all take ownership.
- 7:47Speaker 2: When God gives you something, blesses you would a gift,
- 7:49Speaker 2: a talent, a skill set, a mindset.
- 7:53Speaker 1: Own it. Don't let people come in here and take
- 7:55Speaker 1: it from you. Man. Okay, I probably shouldn't have went
- 7:58Speaker 1: that here. Listening to the Steve Eve Harvey Morning Show
