- 0:00As God intended.
- 0:02Let's go.
- 0:20Hello, you are listening to America Out Loud News Radio.
- 0:25This is your man Monk.
- 0:27And I have a very amazing show for you today.
- 0:32Now, this young man is more like a brother to me than just a friend.
- 0:40He's the younger brother that's doing some amazing things.
- 0:48That's all I got to say about that.
- 0:49I don't want to give too much away because he's gonna, he can he can talk about himself more than I can talk about him.
- 0:59All I know is I love this brother dearly.
- 1:02This man went from a health scare to really taking over the Bay Area, California.
- 1:11This is my younger, I should say, young brother, because this dude is also jacked, be in the gym all the time.
- 1:24So that's why I got him on the show.
- 1:26That's why he's the first person that I'm interviewing on this platform.
- 1:31So this is my little brother.
- 1:35Coach Cat.
- 1:37How you Mr.
- 1:38Cat.
- 1:39I'm doing amazing, Monk, man.
- 1:41I love that introduction right there.
- 1:43I man, I received that on so many different levels.
- 1:47Yeah, you are you're an inspiration.
- 1:50I mean, you're out there doing everything.
- 1:52And this platform is about health, and I couldn't, I couldn't ask for a more qualified being to be on the show today.
- 2:04So thank you for making yourself available.
- 2:09Always, man.
- 2:10You know, Monk, we've we've been in alignment.
- 2:12The way we've even met years ago was all in alignment, divine timing, and being on the same frequency.
- 2:21And I think, you know, even though people go off on their separate journeys to do certain things, as long as you're living in your active truth and being your authentic self, that you know, you're never truly away from anybody.
- 2:36Yeah.
- 2:37Yes, indeed.
- 2:39Man, thank you for having me today.
- 2:40And I'm excited to have this conversation with you, man.
- 2:43I know whatever this conversation is is supposed to be is going to be, and we're gonna provide jewels and gems for the audience today, so they can take on their own personal health journey.
- 2:55Yes, indeed.
- 2:56So when did it start?
- 2:58Tell us a little about your about your history, about your upbringing.
- 3:02Oh man.
- 3:06Yeah.
- 3:07So, you know, I I grew up in the Bay Area.
- 3:10I was born in Berkeley, California, and born in the 80s, and in the 80s, you know, Bay Area, like other inner city communities were dealing with all kinds of challenges within our community when it comes to like our own personal health, people doing certain things, you know, the drugs, the crime, everything that that goes on in some inner city communities across the country.
- 3:39But you know, the thing that that I love was I was in the midst of it, and I wasn't at the same time, you know.
- 3:49I had my dad that was, you know, fresh out the military, well, not fresh out of the military, out the military, and he had a certain upbringing, a certain lifestyle that developed developed him into the person that who he was, right?
- 4:10Which found my mom back in the 80s in a whole different area.
- 4:17So my dad's from the Bay Area, my mom's from South America, and through a series of events, um, meeting my my dad, meeting my uncle, my uncle, you know, introducing my dad to his sister that lived over here in Venezuela, them connecting, coming back to the Bay Area, and then me being the child of that marriage, uh shaped who I am today, because it's two different mindsets, two different mentalities, two different worlds combining, and seeing how I had to unlearn a lot of these two different worlds coming together to become the person I am today is just been a journey.
- 5:01And what's super dope is you know, we we've all picked up certain programming in our journey, like from our parents, our community, just whoever we're we're surrounding ourselves with, we're picking up certain programs, and sometimes not even realizing how we're being how we're being programmed at certain times, you know, whether it's your religious beliefs, whether it's the way we eat, the way we take care of ourselves, the way we look at the world, whatever it may be, we're picking up certain programs and not realizing that we can create our own program within this world and not follow all these systems and programs that we tend to think may be the only way or the truth, right?
- 5:53So growing up in the Bay Area, you know, you see a lot, you see a lot of different cultures, you see a lot of different people, and I know for my personal journey, like that exposure to the world has been a great part of who I am, you know, because I can see things from different lenses and understand and communicate, and really just uh what's the word I'm looking for really just um develop the mindset of transformation, and I didn't realize how that was gonna be a staple in my life to this very moment, and seeing people in my family that had a like all these health issues that were going on, you know, from my grandmother dealing with like heart heart issues and dementia to people dealing with diabetes and obesity, like all these things were just like surrounding me as a kid, and the funny thing about it is my dad always the key thing that I always remember my dad telling me is like you know, watch that because you don't want to be a part of that programming, but I don't think he realized what he was saying to me at that time, and maybe he did, but that was the constant message that he was giving me.
- 7:30Like, don't be a part of this, don't follow this same programming that's been going on for so long within our family, find your own way and break the cycle, right?
- 7:41You don't want to deal with the heart issues, you don't want to deal with the diabetes, you don't want to deal with the obesity, the high blood pressure, all these things that we're constantly seeing.
- 7:50And he would tell me this at a very young age, and as a kid, you know, you don't know how to process certain things like that, you know.
- 7:58Um but then as I started to deal with my own worldly issues, like once I got to middle school, how I started drinking alcohol and and smoking and doing all these things and pretty much losing that essence of who I was to lose myself to find myself all at once.
- 8:23Um has been an amazing journey.
- 8:26Like for years, like my childhood, I dealt with childhood obesity, right?
- 8:34And it would go in these waves, like I would gain all this weight, and then I would lose it just to gain it back, to lose it to get to a point where when I got into like middle school, high school, uh, like I found a balance of this person that I was supposed to be, that you know, my purpose in this world, where being a person of movement, being a person of motivation, inspiration started to develop in like middle school through high school into college, and I lost that at a certain point to refined it after my health scare.
- 9:20So when I had my health scare in 2014, uh that's when I felt like I hit rock bottom.
- 9:27You know, I was always searching for something outside of me to fix me, to fix my my mindset to to give me peace.
- 9:38I was always looking for peace, whether it was drinking alcohol or getting high or whatever the case may be.
- 9:45And it would give me temporary relief, but it wouldn't give me fulfillment.
- 9:52And over the years of having those practices, I gained all this weight.
- 9:57I had a health scare back in 2020.
- 10:002014, where I was 80 pounds overweight.
- 10:03And once I got to that point and knew that I was at rock bottom, and the person that I was that was that I was becoming was right there, and I could either go down, it was like I was at a fork in the road where I could either go down this path of self-destruction of continuing to eat and poison myself and give me these low vibrational uh foods and programming and everything like that, or lose all that and develop the person that I am today was like one of the scariest moments in my life because I was losing all the programming that I grew up on to now develop the person that you see today, but it took a lot of self-discovery, self-development, um looking within myself to really get to that point.
- 11:09That's that's incredible.
- 11:12Let's let's talk a little bit more about the wiring of the programming.
- 11:17Because you know, there's a lot of people out there that believe that they're not programmed, and those are the ones that are the most programmed.
- 11:26It's so set in that you can't tell them that look, these beliefs aren't even yours.
- 11:34Like this is clear to see when you have eyes to see.
- 11:39You can see why people move a certain way.
- 11:42Now, in your case, you probably couldn't see it real time, but now that you're in a different position and you're looking at it from a different perspective, now you see why that you were moving in that way.
- 11:57It makes perfect sense to you now.
- 11:59So, what would you how would you communicate this to somebody that is deep into their programming?
- 12:07Because at one time we're all programmed until we realize that that's the case.
- 12:13Yeah.
- 12:14Um the thing that I had to do for myself was spend time with me.
- 12:20I had to get away from my community and just people and just really spend some time by myself and do some self-discovery and ask myself the real question.
- 12:31Why do I do these things?
- 12:33Why do I eat the way that I eat?
- 12:34Why do I believe in the things that I believe?
- 12:37Where did this uh where did this start?
- 12:41And do I really believe it?
- 12:43You know what I'm saying?
- 12:44From my childhood, even having like memories of like eating certain food that really didn't resonate with me.
- 12:51I remember the first time when I was a kid, and I was eating a drumstick, and I bit into it, and I saw the veins and everything in the meat, and it was like the most disgusting thing that I never wanted to like participate in, and I realized, like, no, this is not right, right?
- 13:11But then, like I said, you have your family members that are so deep into that programming of like, no, like this is what we do, this is how you stay healthy, and like something internally as a kid was like, no, like, you know, this doesn't resonate with me.
- 13:30But then, you know, to not feel out of place or not feel awkward or not get so much, I think because when you do start going down that that rabbit hole of self-discovery and and everything, you make everybody that's not in that realm uncomfortable because now because you're questioning everything and you're asking the why, like why do we do this?
- 13:55Why do we, why do we partake in these activities and they don't have the answer and they've never really asked themselves that question, it throws a monkey wrench into the matrix.
- 14:05You know what I'm saying?
- 14:07Now they're like they're they're so scared of that aspect of themselves that they've never seen or never even questioned because they've been going with that programming that uh it kind of makes you know, it might it makes people uncomfortable.
- 14:26But the one thing that I realize is like if you're on this journey, you can't depend on anybody around you to understand what you're experiencing beside yourself because you're asking these questions, because you're looking within yourself, because you see things that don't make sense anymore and don't add up, you can't expect everybody around you to be on that same frequency.
- 14:55And when you're doing this, it is a time of like loneliness and shedding um certain energies and certain people in your life that you have to experience because it's a it's a a time of growth.
- 15:11And I know as I was going through this experience, I was like, man, I just I just kept to myself, and it did definitely get lonely at times, but I understood that it was something changing internally inside of me that I had to be okay with because the world was starting to look totally different to me.
- 15:36And the program that was once there that never made sense to me was now getting getting stripped away from me, right?
- 15:45And I think a lot of people, when you're going through that process and you're seeing yourself being distanced from the reality that you're currently in, that you have to understand that's part of the process, and you don't necessarily allow fear to like deter you from those things that are going on because it can't get scary, you know.
- 16:11Indeed, it everybody has gone through a real transformation, understands what you just were just conveying right there with that everything is stripped away.
- 16:23It you gotta get down to the base metal.
- 16:26All the old programming has to be processed and released to really be your authentic self.
- 16:37And when you start to see things with real your real eyes, and then you understand the you understand the assignment now, that can be super overwhelming because the assignment is not small.
- 16:52The assignment is the biggest assignment you're ever gonna have in your life to be the real you, and most people are not there.
- 17:00But I want you to tell me how dark and lonely and scary it was when we come back off a break.
- 17:10Like what was your lowest point?
- 17:13Well, uh have you uh really go into depth of what happened and where you were at that point.

- 19:32But we ain't gonna get into that.
- 19:33We ain't gonna get into that on the ground.
- 19:36It's all in divine timing, brother.
- 19:38Right.
- 19:39We ain't gonna get into that on the air.
- 19:41But uh I want you to tell our listeners or how how deep, how dark.
- 19:51What was the point in your life where if you had to say rock bottom, which is a cliche turned there, but rock bottom, rock bottom.
- 19:59But
- 20:01When you really started to question yourself when you really felt alone, I think everybody that goes through a transformation at one point, it feels very alone.
- 20:11Even if it's not lonely, you know, alone because the old you is is gone, but you don't quite know what the new you is.
- 20:18So you're in this in-between place.
- 20:21Tell us about that.
- 20:23Yeah, like I said, you know, growing up in society and developing that programming over time.
- 20:33It's like the people, the relationships that you built, friendships, all that kind of stuff, and you start to see kind of like just naturally, naturally just like fade away.
- 20:45Like it wasn't at any point that I ever decided not to be in the same circle of people or environments.
- 20:53It was just like a natural, like this world is dissolving from around you, right?
- 20:59The people that would that would call me on a daily basis, that I would talk to on a regular basis, all of a sudden, just one day stop calling, right?
- 21:09Like the social aspect of certain things, like, you know, at a certain point in my life, I would drink a lot in social environments and non-social environments.
- 21:21That was just a thing that I did was because I was so used to that environment, we would always drink.
- 21:26We would always, you know, have bottles and hang out and do social events.
- 21:32But at a certain point, I asked myself, just like, why am I doing this?
- 21:36Like, why do I need this substance to have fun?
- 21:41Why do I need this substance to interact with people?
- 21:44Why, like going down that rabbit hole of why?
- 21:47Like, what does it feel like to just be sober and just be me and just be my authentic self, right?
- 21:54And I told myself, I was like, I'm gonna give myself a year.
- 21:59I started, I started drinking in middle school, right?
- 22:02I think I had my first drink, like real drink was in like the seventh grade.
- 22:08And from that point, seventh grade all the way until my 30s, like that was a part of my life.
- 22:15That was a part of who I am, I was.
- 22:18Uh and seeing that, it was like, why?
- 22:21Like, why do I do this?
- 22:22I see my mom do it, I see my dad do it, I see my family and friends do it.
- 22:27Like, it was just something that I just did.
- 22:31And at a certain point, I was like, I don't want to partake in that anymore.
- 22:36I want to give myself a break and see if that's really me.
- 22:40Like if I if I if I let this go, and then it it shows itself to me again, then it might have been something different.
- 22:49But I said, let me do one year just being sober, right?
- 22:54In my mind, I was like, let me just do one year of just like not partaking in any kind of alcohol, because that's what my my spirit told me to do.
- 23:02And I was like, six months went by, a year went by, now it's been nine years.
- 23:10It was just one thing that just no longer served me.
- 23:14It was just something that like kind of like dissolved in this this new presence of who I'm embodying, you know, as my authentic self.
- 23:23Um, same thing with the food.
- 23:25I remember, you know, I thought I was gonna just stop eating meat for like 30 days.
- 23:32But once I realized, like, I was like, wow, my mental is so much clearer.
- 23:38My spiritual connection is so much on point to me.
- 23:44You know what I'm saying?
- 23:44I could feel a shift, I could feel a difference.
- 23:47And I realized it's like I don't, I don't need meat or any of this stuff to thrive, you know.
- 23:55I can I can cleanse myself internally, and it's a reflection of everything that's going on externally, right?
- 24:04So as I started to to just naturally just cleanse myself, detox myself from certain things, I started to get a more clear image of who I was.
- 24:15And then, like I said, at times it was just lonely because not everybody that I was surrounding myself with uh was on that same time, that same timeline.
- 24:28But I say that to say, as you're doing these things, as you're changing yourself internally, your external starts to change, right?
- 24:38Your vibration starts to change.
- 24:40New people that are on the same frequency or on this or on the same calling in life.
- 24:48You might not have the exact same calling, obviously, but you're moving, you're shifting the energy in a certain direction, right?
- 24:55And that's how we cross cross paths, right?
- 24:59I remember I was getting done with the radio show, and my spirit was just telling me that I was supposed to be at this event, right?
- 25:08I was like, dang, my spirit just said, like, you're supposed to be here, like there's an event going on today.
- 25:14And I couldn't figure out what that was.
- 25:16And I started to search on Facebook, like what events were going on, and there was an event right around the corner from the radio station where I was at, where I got to meet you, right?
- 25:27That where we crossed paths for the first time.
- 25:30And I feel like through the series of events of where I was in my journey, that was like the perfect timing because we were just we had so many similarities, right?
- 25:42We had a past of drink, like using alcohol as a substance to um not only be social, but kind of distract us from who we are today.
- 25:56You know what I'm saying?
- 25:57Self-medicate, I have to say, yeah, self-medicate.
- 26:01It was one of those things that's like you don't even realize you're doing it in the moment.
- 26:05And then it's like once you just like break away from those kind of uh, I wouldn't say challenges, because it wasn't a challenge, it was it was almost like we needed to experience those things, so we could talk to people in real time about things that they may be experiencing because we were there once upon a time.
- 26:27You know what I'm saying?
- 26:29And it's it hits a little bit different when you talk to somebody that's been in the in the place that you've been when it comes to whether you are using some kind of substance or whether you were feeling lost in life, you have to experience those things.
- 26:43And I think some of the best coaches have gone through the most challenges or the most shifts in their life because they can relate to more of the masses in that sense, and they're able to give the tools and resources that they may need to help them bring their frequency or just change their lifestyle, you know.
- 27:09Yeah, you know, when you change your lifestyle, you definitely change your frequency, but you think you're slick, and we're not gonna skip, we're not passing by, we're not about your lowest point because you think you're slick.
- 27:21Now, I seen a picture with you in the hospital with all types of hooked up to all types of machinery, yeah.
- 27:31Looking like you about to die.
- 27:34Yeah.
- 27:35So that was back in 2020.
- 27:38Yeah, that was back in 2020.
- 27:41So I feel like that was the day that the old me had to had to leave this plane, right?
- 27:52And I didn't know what was going on because back in 2014, I woke up in the middle of the night, and it was like one of the worst feelings that I've ever felt in my life.
- 28:06It felt like literally like what I would consider death.
- 28:12Like everything that I was feeling, it was like a shift back in 2014 where the old me could not come into this new realm.
- 28:23And if I didn't decide to shed the old me that it was the end, it was the end for me.
- 28:31And so I got I got rushed to the hospital because while I was at the house, it was the middle of the night.
- 28:36I woke up, I had all these symptoms of having a heart attack, right?
- 28:41Um, shortness of breath, tightness of chest, just all these things that people would consider was a heart attack.
- 28:48And when I told my wife to call the the uh call 911, she knew like something was something was wrong, something was changing, right?
- 28:58And because normally I'm not a person that likes to go to the hospital.
- 29:02And if I'm calling, if I'm telling her to call the ambulance, like there's something going on.
- 29:08There's there's like he's not feeling good, right?
- 29:11So I get rushed to the hospital.
- 29:14Um, they're taking my vitals, they're seeing that I have all the symptoms of having a heart attack.
- 29:19But when everything comes back, all my tests come back, they're like, it's not a heart attack.
- 29:25And I'm like, so what was it?
- 29:28And it was it was so interesting that they're like nothing, nothing, nothing like we can't detect anything from all your blood work and everything that we just took.
- 29:40We we can't detect anything that's going on with you.
- 29:44And I was like, no, something something just happened, right?
- 29:48Something something shifted, and it was a big shift all at once.
- 29:54But spiritually, I didn't know I was going through that that that.
- 30:00Person that's been in the cocoon, you know what I'm saying?
- 30:03That's turning into the butterfly.
- 30:05And I was shedding that old me in that moment to become who I am today and needing to take certain actions as well.
- 30:14So at that time, I was like, man, like I want to be here.
- 30:20Like I have four sons.
- 30:21I want to be alive.
- 30:22I want to be good.
- 30:24I want to see them grow up.
- 30:25I want to be here.
- 30:27Like, and whatever happened that night that showed me that that could be taken away, like that woke me up.
- 30:35And that was like one of the most how can I put it in words?
- 30:42It was one of the most challenging times to realize that I felt like I was doing all this to myself.
- 30:50And I have the power to shift that narrative within myself that you know I'm not, I'm not gonna be here destroying myself anymore.
- 31:01Internally, mentally, physically, spiritually, I'm not gonna be here destroying myself anymore.
- 31:07And once that shift happened, and I said, I want to be here, and when I as I'm here, it was one of those things is like I have a purpose to serve.
- 31:20Not only for myself, but for my family, right?
- 31:24And I realized over time that it was a purpose of breaking cycles, certain cycles that we were seeing consistently in our family.
- 31:36Um people that were dealing with alcoholism, people that were dealing with obesity, people that were dealing with all these issues.
- 31:44Um I chose to come back and break those cycles and to show what that looks like, right?
- 31:51And through that journey, like yeah, it got dark, but to go dark, to go truly like into those dark places that some people are afraid to go into, you can shine a light that's brighter than any light because you chose to be able to go into certain dark spaces that a lot of people don't choose to go into.
- 32:18Yes, indeed.
- 32:19I it resonates so much.
- 32:23Um I I believe that's why people do have these addictions.
- 32:28They don't want to go into those dark places and it's very uncomfortable for them and scary.
- 32:33And there's so many things that parallel your story and my story.
- 32:38It's like you're just a younger version of me.
- 32:42When you say, I want to live.
- 32:44That's the same thing I was saying when I was having that bleeding stuff.
- 32:47No, I want to live.
- 32:48I'm here to do something different.
- 32:50I know it in my soul.
- 32:52I'm here to do something different.
- 32:53And for you to have the awareness, most people don't have it.
- 32:57Because if you're if you're wrapped up in the alcohol, you wrap, you have to take a break to get some clarity, right?
- 33:04For really for that still small voice to start whispering to you when it's all wrapped up in addition and in all the things that we got going on where we don't take the time to be still just for one moment so we can hear that.
- 33:19Just let the noise come down just for a moment so we can hear that voice.
- 33:23And it's amazing to me that you just you said, I'm just gonna take a year off of drinking.
- 33:29Look, I would have never stopped drinking if I wouldn't have had those physical issues that I had.
- 33:34Yeah.
- 33:35For that to come through to you, like, hmm, maybe this is not this is not for me.
- 33:40Let me see.
- 33:41Maybe this meat thing is, uh don't think I need that.
- 33:45That's powerful.
- 33:47Yeah, that's powerful.
- 33:49Like most people don't have that capacity to realize it, to have enough awareness, like, hmm, what am I supposed to be doing here?
- 33:57That's a question that most people do never ask in their whole lifetime.
- 34:01Yeah.
- 34:02And I think that's the one common thing that I really noticed in our story.
- 34:06When we got to that point, we knew that it was something else that we were supposed to be doing here, right?
- 34:18And we wanted to live.
- 34:20And we allowed that spirit to speak through us and use us as a vessel as the light that we were designed to be in this particular lifetime in the communities that we come from to be able to shine light on others, you know what I'm saying?
- 34:36So others, so we can use our light to help empower others.
- 34:40You know what I'm saying?
- 34:41Not to use it for any other resource, but just to shine bright and allow people to look within themselves that come from the same communities that we come from to ask certain questions that they may have never asked, or or be able to deliver a message to them in a way that we can only deliver it so they can hear it and resonate with them.
- 35:04You know what I'm saying?
- 35:06And all the the experience that is that we've gotten up until this particular moment has allowed us to be able to speak those languages and be able to resonate and re really allow people to feel us on a level that's more than just a surface level, more of a spiritual level.
- 35:28You know what I'm saying?
- 35:29It's it resonates differently when somebody can speak to your spirit.
- 35:34When you hear somebody as deep as your spirit, and that really resonates and hits with you, you're touching people on a whole different level.
- 35:43And that's that's the places that we continue to look within ourselves and talk to ourselves and are being guided to be able to allow that energy to flow through us and be obedient to that.
- 35:59You know what I'm saying?
- 36:00Like it's one thing to come to that self-realization, but to constantly be in a in a state of awareness where you're like, okay, I know each and every moment, each and every place that I go on this particular journey is serving a purpose, whether I know it or not.
- 36:18Whether I hop on this call and do this interview and do this podcast, whether it's speaking to one person or speaking to the masses, I know that I'm supposed to be here at this time, sharing whatever I'm supposed to share with the audience for them to be able to go off on their own journey and and for it to resonate however it's supposed to resonate.
- 36:42Yes, I it's a it's a love, I like to call it a love mission.
- 36:46And in your love mission moving forward, we're gonna hear a little bit more.
- 36:50Do you agree?
- 36:51You call it a love mission.
- 36:52Oh, yeah, definitely.
- 36:54So you're I didn't want to put words in your mouth.
- 36:56So your love mission, we're gonna talk about more about that when we come back.

- 38:38We are here with my brother, my friend.
- 38:41Just we're connected at the soul.
- 38:45And that can never be disconnected.
- 38:48And like we were saying before the break, it's a love mission.
- 38:51That at least for me, at least for you, really, when it comes down to it, that's that's what it's about.
- 38:57So tell us like what you're doing right now.
- 39:00And I know you're impacting the Bay Area in the world, even in such a beautiful way.
- 39:07Let's talk about what you're currently doing and how you are bringing that love to the world.
- 39:13Yeah.
- 39:14So right now I'm in my facility, which is located in El Sabrante, California, um, Cat Fitness Wellness Center.
- 39:22And this is just a space where it's a transformational space, right?
- 39:30A transformational space where people of like-minded frequencies are coming together to hold space for each other as they go on this journey, mentally, physically, spiritually.
- 39:44And it's uh some would look just look at it as a gym.
- 39:49They're like, oh, okay, that's a gym.
- 39:50But yeah, it's it's a different kind of different kind of space that allows people to come together and
- 40:00And really network and build and the connections that I've seen come from this space have been so beautiful.
- 40:10And just to be able to see what this is all leading up to years ago, right?
- 40:19I knew even as when I when I became a uh trainer 10 years ago, uh over 10 years ago, that it was more than just helping people lose weight.
- 40:32It was more than helping people build muscle, right?
- 40:35Uh it was helping empower people to go on their own personal journey and hold space for them in spaces that they may have not have that same kind of support, you know.
- 40:47Like I said, through this journey, you know, family, friends, just people that you've been around your entire life, sometimes can't resonate with where you're at currently.
- 41:02And I feel like this space um allows people to learn more about themselves and ask certain questions and feel comfortable and confident that they're not gonna be judged in this environment in this community.
- 41:18So this space has allowed people to go within themselves, look within themselves, um, empower themselves with the tools and resources that they're they're needing in this chapter of their life.
- 41:35So I'm super excited about this space and how it continues to grow and how the uh community continues to grow in this space.
- 41:42And then now we're seeing it not only within this space, it's the energy that we're bringing to the entire community, the entire Bay Area, um, hosting different events like heal the hood events that you part uh participated in, um, where we're going into inner city communities, um, just creating those spaces for people to network talk, uh, to continue to grow to understand who's in this same journey or the same chapter that you may be in that can help nurture that experience.
- 42:16So just continue to uh facilitate those experiences for people within the community.
- 42:25Yeah, the heel of the hood thing is going real, it's strong, it's strong.
- 42:30Just to just uh the title alone, heal the hood, because the hood needs healing.
- 42:39There's so many things that are placed in certain you know, environments on purpose, and then when we get caught up in it, like I got caught up in it, like you got caught up in it.
- 42:51It's very hard to break free from it because the programming is very strong.
- 42:58The more we live a certain way, the more ingrained it becomes in us, the more true it becomes for us.
- 43:04So for you to go out into these environments and say, hey, look, not everybody's gonna look, but people just gonna look.
- 43:12Hey, look, this is it doesn't have to be like this.
- 43:17You can look at it differently.
- 43:20Like you can look at the things you put in your body differently.
- 43:24It's not just about taste or it's about it affects you in every single way.
- 43:29And that's what I love about your events.
- 43:31Look, these things affect you.
- 43:34Move your body, you're gonna feel better.
- 43:36If you eat better, you're gonna feel better.
- 43:38You're gonna have more of a connection because you're talking about frequency all the time and energy all the time.
- 43:44When our frequency is at a lowered state, you're gonna feel a certain type of way.
- 43:50And when you said you went to the hospital, they couldn't find nothing.
- 43:53I think we hold on to energies when it gets to a certain point, it has to come out or be expressed somehow.
- 43:59And sometimes it comes out as just this overwhelming feeling, had the same experience.
- 44:06So it's super imperative for it needed for you to continue doing what you're doing.
- 44:17You're changing environment, not just lives on an individual basis, but you're changing communities, and then those communities will branch out and branch out and branch out.
- 44:29And children don't have to be born into the same the same type of programs that they were born into prior.
- 44:39You know, the 80s, your your generation really did a job on the communities.
- 44:45Yeah, 80s, the drugs in the 80s, the crack epidemic, how families were being separated and just everything, the broken households and our community, the mentality, you know what I'm saying?
- 45:00Just we got stripped of a lot of things, but coming back full circle, we're seeing like how that made us even stronger.
- 45:11You know what I'm saying?
- 45:12To be the those that lived and were able to now thrive through all that has developed a level of strength, internal strength, mental strength, spiritual strength that uh is was ready for the the shift that's occurring currently in this world, you know, to raise the frequency to a certain level and for it to now thrive with nothing but with love as the base and intent that's moving forward through our community.
- 45:48You know, we were just talking about I'll share this with you real quick.
- 45:53We were just talking about uh our next heal the hood event, right?
- 45:57And we're in a in a space in Oakland, and we're looking at the space, and we're kind of like looking at how this event is gonna play out.
- 46:06And in this current space that we're gonna be using, they have like little sections in there that you are usually used as like bars, right?
- 46:16And I was like, man, we can get so many people to come to this event and then use these spaces that we once looked at like as social events where we would drink and stuff like that, but now introducing them to like smoothies and healthy juices and even like mocktails that don't have alcohol in it, where you can still be in a social environment and still enjoy and put something inside of yourself that is gonna help you thrive and strive with who you are instead of using the old narrative of putting certain things in us that take a certain bit of our energy away of who we truly are, you know.
- 47:00And uh it's just it's it's just funny seeing how you can take the old narrative and uh reshape it.
- 47:13For instance, like eating from the soul, the show that we go to different restaurants, and we show people different vegan cuisines, right?
- 47:23A lot of these places are taking things that we've grown up on, you know, certain delicacies that you know, soul food and all that kind of stuff that we've grown up on that kind of shown us that you know, the health issues that we're dealing with are in our community when it comes to like diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, heart attacks.
- 47:45It's kind of like the root of it when it comes to the nutrition, but you can take something that's caused so much damage and reshape it and redevelop it and repackage it into something that's more loving that is gonna create more health and wealth within our community as well, right?
- 48:05So it's just showing it's showing people like the yin and yang of what you can be in life, you know what I'm saying?
- 48:15Absolutely.
- 48:16I'm right there with you.
- 48:17Now I got a question for you.
- 48:19Yeah.
- 48:20Let's talk about what you consume.
- 48:25So this is my belief on it, and I want to see where your take is on this.
- 48:32So what we consume not only has to do with you know what we eat or drink, or what we expose ourselves to.
- 48:39Now, whatever we expose ourselves to, my belief is it either is gonna make us better or give us life, or it's gonna take that life away.
- 48:51It's either gonna make your experience and your life better, or it's gonna create challenges.
- 48:59Yeah.
- 49:00What is your take on that?
- 49:02I don't think there's anything really neutral when it comes to what we consume.
- 49:08Yeah.
- 49:09And when we think about consuming things, it's not like you said, it's not just what we eat, it's the music we listen to.
- 49:16It's the the programming on TV and all the things that we expose ourselves on social media and the internet and everything.
- 49:25It's like, what are you feeding yourself?
- 49:27And what we feed ourselves can continue to help us trigger certain programs in us because the way that we've been what's the word I'm looking for?
- 49:43The way that we've been um shown certain things in this in this reality, can like say for instance, I might not, I might not have the urge to drink, right?
- 49:59Have a
- 50:00Have alcohol or anything like that.
- 50:02But until I can fully release and let go of all those things, if I'm constantly watching certain things, whether it's uh things on social media, YouTube, TV, something can trigger emotion that makes me go back to that certain version of myself that wants to drink or wants to partake in those activities.
- 50:29So until I know, like right now, at a certain point, I couldn't go into a bar.
- 50:37I couldn't go into certain social environments where there was alcohol because I don't know.
- 50:43It just didn't, it didn't, I wasn't ready to go into those environments.
- 50:48And I think at a certain point, once you develop certain things, just like a muscle, like going into the gym and getting so many repetitions, once you you're able to put yourself into those environments again, then you don't have those triggers like you once may have.
- 51:06But until you develop that, you have to kind of like, I think you have to detox yourself from like the social media, the TV, the things that allow you to be like, oh, I need to go back to the old program and whatever that may be.
- 51:22So, and I'm 100% with you, but it's easier said than done for some people because they those distractions, they feel like they need them because when they start to feel those feelings, when they start to really just most people cannot sit for five minutes without some sort of stimulus of stimuli, right?
- 51:47Yeah, they get uncomfortable, they don't know what to do with themselves.
- 51:51What if they don't have their phone?
- 51:52I deal with this all the time in my classes.
- 51:54People are addicted to distractions.
- 51:57Yeah.
- 51:58So what would what kind of advice would you give to somebody if they want to start disconnecting from these distractions?
- 52:10What would you tell them?
- 52:11Yeah.
- 52:12It's how you start off your day.
- 52:14So if you start off your day with these devices and things that you need that certain stimulation, you're gonna constantly, that's what you're gonna revert to.
- 52:26That's where the programming is gonna take you.
- 52:28It's like, oh, I need something.
- 52:30But if you can learn how to wake up and be still, and I would say, you know, meditate, pray however you can connect to your higher self, your inner self, take that time and start your day every day.
- 52:48Like so, perfect example.
- 52:51Um, when I start off my day, I start off my day with just sitting there with affirmations and intention of what this day is going to look like and how I'm gonna be guided through my day.
- 53:03So I'll sit there and do my affirmations within myself, be very quiet, very still, and then as my day progresses, like I see the things, the intent, the energy that I started off with my day start to play out throughout my day, because that's where my energy started.
- 53:27Now, if I'm going on to like social media, like that can trigger certain things depending on what you're looking at, what you're experiencing.
- 53:36And if you're looking to separate yourself from those things, you have to just start to detoxify yourself and let go of like the TV, the social media, those things that kind of distract you.
- 53:53So start your day off with just sitting still, looking within yourself and finding what really resonates with you.
- 54:02Yeah, that's what I tell my people too.
- 54:05It's like you're the way you start your day, and I also add the way you end your day, right?
- 54:10Yeah.
- 54:11Reflecting after your day is over, what can I have done better?
- 54:15What did I do well?
- 54:17And maybe take some conscious breaths and relax the your, you know, your body, do a body scan or something like that.
- 54:24But I think those two points in your day, the morning and the evening, it's like, and then you and you start to create this thing, this this amazing uh routine that you got going for yourself that's really gonna be beneficial to your life and your growth and expansion and all that.
- 54:44So thank you for saying that.
- 54:46Because I was gonna say, people have to think about it like this, and this is why I love like the gym environment, right?
- 54:53Anytime, say if you're out of shape and you go to the gym and you start to work out, right?
- 55:00You start to work out and things start to hurt at first, right?
- 55:04It doesn't feel good initially.
- 55:05Like I start to work out, I feel all this soreness, I feel all these lactic acids released into my muscles, it feels very uncomfortable.
- 55:12And it can feel comfortable, uncomfortable for a few weeks.
- 55:16You know, I can feel all this soreness and penis.
- 55:19And what you have to realize is you're gonna go through that as you're as you're going through these transformations, you have to be willing to experience that discomfort to then develop the muscle memory of these practices that you do on a daily basis that are gonna give you the strength to carry you throughout the day that you can use as your foundation to continue to grow.
- 55:45Man, I wish we could talk for two hours, but we you're gonna come, you gotta come back up.
- 55:49Oh, yeah, man.
- 55:50Thank you for all those gyms.
- 55:52Like you said, there's gonna be some gyms and it just the knowledge and the wisdom that you have and the love that you have for people, man.
- 55:59I love your brother.
- 56:01And we're gonna have to have you back on sooner rather than later.
- 56:06And uh I appreciate you.
- 56:07Thank you so much for coming.
- 56:10What do you want to do about it?
- 56:13You got about keep just one thing.
- 56:17One thing to leave the people with, yes.
- 56:20Uh always remember you have to the way you want the world to love and respect and honor you, you have to learn how to love and respect and honor yourself first.
- 56:31Drop the money.
- 56:32Boom.
- 56:33Man, that's where it starts.
- 56:35You have to do it for yourself.
- 56:37So do everything that you want the external to do, do it within yourself, and you'll start to see your reality change and move in that direction.
- 56:45All right, thank you, brother.
- 56:47Have a beautiful day, y'all.
- 56:48We will see you soon.
- 56:50Or talk in peace.
