- 0:00SPEAKER_00: Good morning from Canada.
- 0:01SPEAKER_00: Good morning from Florida.
- 0:03SPEAKER_01: It's like polar opposites.
- 0:05SPEAKER_01: Canada, pleasant, nice, free, cold.
- 0:09SPEAKER_01: Florida, sweaty, fascist hellhole.
- 0:12SPEAKER_00: I know.
- 0:13SPEAKER_00: And they just,
- 0:14SPEAKER_00: in the primary last night,
- 0:16SPEAKER_00: Republicans chose Byron Donalds,
- 0:19SPEAKER_00: the guy who wants to put data centers all over the state.
- 0:24SPEAKER_01: Of course he does.
- 0:25SPEAKER_00: In a state where we already have problems with water supplies.
- 0:30SPEAKER_01: Wonder how much money he got for that.
- 0:32SPEAKER_01: It's going to be really funny because people on the left and the right hate data centers, right?
- 0:38SPEAKER_01: But Republicans are going to get a lot of money from the tech industry,
- 0:44SPEAKER_01: which means Fox News and the rest of them are going to be like, no,
- 0:47SPEAKER_01: data centers are great,
- 0:48SPEAKER_01: which means over the next several years,
- 0:51SPEAKER_01: the right is going to be like,
- 0:52SPEAKER_01: no, we love data centers because Fox News told us data centers are awesome.
- 0:56SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that's already kind of starting.
- 0:58SPEAKER_01: It's going to be really weird to watch them going out there and literally protesting
- 1:03SPEAKER_01: in favor of data centers.
- 1:05SPEAKER_01: They create jobs!
- 1:07SPEAKER_01: Yeah, data centers are awesome because they create jobs for billionaires or something.
- 1:13SPEAKER_01: It's going to be so weird to watch.
- 1:16SPEAKER_01: It'll be the tea party for data centers.
- 1:19SPEAKER_01: No, for sure.
- 1:20SPEAKER_01: You guys are just a fucking cult.
- 1:22SPEAKER_01: You literally will say anything you're told to say,
- 1:25SPEAKER_01: but it's going to be really amazing to watch.
- 1:28SPEAKER_01: A data center ate my jaw, but I love data centers.
- 1:31SPEAKER_01: It's like, okay, okay, cultist.
- 1:33SPEAKER_01: Don't call me a cultist.
- 1:35SPEAKER_01: Okay, but you're wearing a little data center on your head,
- 1:38SPEAKER_01: and you tattooed a data center on your arm, but it's okay.
- 1:42SPEAKER_01: You're not a cultist or anything.
- 1:43SPEAKER_01: It's cool.
- 1:44SPEAKER_01: It's cool.
- 1:47SPEAKER_00: You tattooed a data center.
- 1:50SPEAKER_01: I promise you,
- 1:51SPEAKER_01: within four or five years,
- 1:52SPEAKER_01: you're going to see people on the right,
- 1:54SPEAKER_01: they're going to start tattooing data centers on their arms because,
- 1:58SPEAKER_01: you know, just to own the libs.
- 2:00SPEAKER_01: They're going to own the libs by being like pro data center because they're fucking morons.
- 2:05SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I love when they try to own the libs and it's always just owning themselves.
- 2:10SPEAKER_01: Yep.
- 2:10SPEAKER_01: It'll destroy their communities.
- 2:11SPEAKER_01: It'll destroy their entire future.
- 2:13SPEAKER_01: Their kids won't have jobs.
- 2:15SPEAKER_01: But, you know, I love data centers because Fox News said they're awesome and it makes libs cry.
- 2:20SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 2:21SPEAKER_00: Well, Thierry,
- 2:23SPEAKER_00: so obviously I don't like Byron Donald,
- 2:25SPEAKER_00: who we're talking about right now, who won the Republican nomination.
- 2:29SPEAKER_00: And honestly, I don't.
- 2:31SPEAKER_00: The thing about Florida is like Democrats pick David Jolly,
- 2:35SPEAKER_00: who's a former Republican congressman.
- 2:37SPEAKER_00: And ordinarily I'd be like, fuck that bitch.
- 2:41SPEAKER_00: But in Florida, it might be the only way that we're going to win.
- 2:45SPEAKER_00: And he's like a moderate Republican.
- 2:47SPEAKER_00: He was a moderate Republican who was kicked out of the party because he was a never Trumper.
- 2:51SPEAKER_00: So, I mean, if it's between the two of them, you know, I'll be Jolly Ho.
- 2:57SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 2:59SPEAKER_01: Wasn't there something—oh, God, I was just listening this morning to What a Day.
- 3:05SPEAKER_01: One of the Republicans that was running was calling— Oh, fishback?
- 3:12SPEAKER_01: One of them was caught rifling through someone's mail while they were out campaigning.
- 3:16SPEAKER_01: And the other person was like, oh, that guy's satanic.
- 3:21SPEAKER_01: And he said something that was, like, really fucking crazy, even for a Republican.
- 3:25SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 3:25SPEAKER_00: I think that was Fishback,
- 3:27SPEAKER_00: which is funny because there's a giant flag for him on the side of the highway.
- 3:32SPEAKER_00: So Florida didn't used to always be like this.
- 3:35SPEAKER_00: I would say that after Charlie Crest, that's when things started going awry.
- 3:41SPEAKER_00: So really just two governors.
- 3:45SPEAKER_00: It was after the 20th.
- 3:47SPEAKER_00: It was after the 2010 realigning where the Tea Party took over that Florida got fucked.
- 3:53SPEAKER_01: And they did start attracting large amounts of Republicans.
- 3:57SPEAKER_01: A lot of Republican voters went there.
- 3:59SPEAKER_01: So now the state is very, very bad.
- 4:02SPEAKER_00: Because it used to be about even.
- 4:04SPEAKER_00: That's why we were a swing state.
- 4:05SPEAKER_00: That's why we voted for Obama.
- 4:07SPEAKER_00: But then after COVID, so many Republicans flocked here because we were cheaper than California.
- 4:15SPEAKER_00: And nobody wants to go to the Gulf beaches in Louisiana.
- 4:19SPEAKER_00: So we have a lot of beaches.
- 4:22SPEAKER_00: Our beaches are very pretty.
- 4:24SPEAKER_00: And it was more affordable.
- 4:25SPEAKER_00: But the thing is, they made it unaffordable.
- 4:28SPEAKER_00: It's so expensive here now.
- 4:29SPEAKER_01: Yeah, they really took the one thing they had going for them and destroyed it.
- 4:35SPEAKER_01: They did.
- 4:35SPEAKER_01: Why?
- 4:36SPEAKER_01: Who knows?
- 4:37SPEAKER_01: Because they're Republicans.
- 4:38SPEAKER_00: But in good news,
- 4:40SPEAKER_00: Sarasota County,
- 4:41SPEAKER_00: their school board has been controlled by Republicans for about four years.
- 4:47SPEAKER_00: And the head of the school board was Bridget Ziegler.
- 4:50SPEAKER_00: Remember her husband was the head of the Republican Party in Florida.
- 4:54SPEAKER_00: And there was like this big scandal that they were swinging and having a threesome.
- 4:58SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah, that whole thing.
- 5:00SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so she was the head of the Sarasota County School Board,
- 5:03SPEAKER_00: and yesterday she was like, oh, you know, look at them campaigning.
- 5:07SPEAKER_00: They have Ziegler derangement syndrome, which,
- 5:10SPEAKER_00: just as an aside,
- 5:12SPEAKER_00: during Obama's administration,
- 5:14SPEAKER_00: we used to say that the Republicans And they're so unoriginal that they had to take
- 5:20SPEAKER_00: that term and twist it for themselves.
- 5:22SPEAKER_00: So you guys couldn't even come up with a new term.
- 5:25SPEAKER_00: So anyways,
- 5:26SPEAKER_00: last night,
- 5:26SPEAKER_00: three Democrats won in Sarasota, and they took back control of the school board.
- 5:31SPEAKER_00: So it doesn't matter what happens in November, we have control of the school board.
- 5:35SPEAKER_00: I don't live in Sarasota, but I am happy about that.
- 5:39SPEAKER_00: Yay!
- 5:39SPEAKER_00: Any win is a good win.
- 5:41SPEAKER_01: Who was this?
- 5:43SPEAKER_01: Dan Blizzardine?
- 5:44SPEAKER_01: Blizzardine?
- 5:45SPEAKER_01: Blizzardine?
- 5:46SPEAKER_01: I don't know who that is.
- 5:48SPEAKER_01: I was calling someone this.
- 5:49SPEAKER_01: Oh, this is it.
- 5:50SPEAKER_01: I'm sorry.
- 5:51SPEAKER_01: Florida Republican Dan Blizzardine.
- 5:53SPEAKER_01: Blizzardine was challenging incumbent Republican Congressman.
- 5:56SPEAKER_01: He also wondered whether it was worth revisiting Adolf Hitler's opinions.
- 6:17SPEAKER_00: What?
- 6:18SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 6:19SPEAKER_00: I don't know where the sixth congressional district is.
- 6:21SPEAKER_01: So this is this is yeah, this is this is the Republican Party.
- 6:26SPEAKER_01: And these are the people that when you say, you know, you have a you have a Nazi problem.
- 6:31SPEAKER_01: They get really, really mad at you.
- 6:33SPEAKER_01: And it's like, I don't know.
- 6:34SPEAKER_01: Maybe if you didn't have so many fucking Nazis in your party,
- 6:37SPEAKER_01: we wouldn't say you have a Nazi problem.
- 6:39SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 6:40SPEAKER_01: It's weird.
- 6:41SPEAKER_00: Oh, you know what?
- 6:41SPEAKER_00: Florida's 6th Congressional District is up by St. Augustine in Daytona.
- 6:48SPEAKER_00: It's like that area over there.
- 6:50SPEAKER_01: Is that a problematic place?
- 6:53SPEAKER_00: No, I'm just...
- 6:55SPEAKER_00: I mean, my grandma lives in that area, but is she problematic?
- 7:01SPEAKER_00: She is 90 and they gave her her driver's license.
- 7:04SPEAKER_00: Lady can barely move.
- 7:05SPEAKER_01: Jesus Christ.
- 7:06SPEAKER_00: Come to Florida.
- 7:07SPEAKER_00: We'll give you a license.
- 7:09SPEAKER_01: For driving and a gun.
- 7:11SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 7:15SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 7:16SPEAKER_01: This is The Opinionated Ogre podcast,
- 7:18SPEAKER_01: your weekly rampage to current events with a little snark,
- 7:21SPEAKER_01: a bit of foul And this is my co-host, Florida Woman.
- 7:23SPEAKER_01: Hello, Florida Woman.
- 7:23SPEAKER_01: Good morning.
- 7:37SPEAKER_01: Are you, Florida woman, going to open an account at Trump's new crypto bank?
- 7:42SPEAKER_01: I'm sure it's going to be completely safe and not at all a haven
- 7:46SPEAKER_01: for money laundering for drug cartels and the Russian mob.
- 7:49SPEAKER_01: Totally safe.
- 7:50SPEAKER_01: Definitely legit.
- 7:52SPEAKER_00: No, because I think only morons invest in crypto.
- 7:55SPEAKER_01: And I don't think it's just going to be a crypto bank.
- 7:58SPEAKER_01: I think it's going to be a regular bank, too.
- 7:59SPEAKER_01: So I'm definitely going to open a checking account at the Trump bank.
- 8:03SPEAKER_00: I can't wait to have my money stolen.
- 8:05SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah.
- 8:05SPEAKER_01: No, no.
- 8:06SPEAKER_01: That definitely would never happen.
- 8:07SPEAKER_01: There's no way that bank is going to like over leverage or do anything shady.
- 8:12SPEAKER_01: There's no way.
- 8:16SPEAKER_00: I say only morons invest in crypto.
- 8:18SPEAKER_00: And if my husband listens to this episode, he's going to be like, excuse me.
- 8:22SPEAKER_01: Wait, he has money in crypto?
- 8:26SPEAKER_00: He has crypto.
- 8:28SPEAKER_00: Yeah, like he plays with it.
- 8:30SPEAKER_00: It goes up and down.
- 8:31SPEAKER_00: So hi, Jordan.
- 8:33SPEAKER_01: Oh boy.
- 8:34SPEAKER_00: It's not a lot of money.
- 8:35SPEAKER_00: He's not stupid.
- 8:36SPEAKER_01: I mean, I would put $5,000 in just to see what happens.
- 8:40SPEAKER_01: Just to watch it go.
- 8:42SPEAKER_01: If I ever had like $5,000 to burn,
- 8:44SPEAKER_01: which I don't,
- 8:45SPEAKER_01: but it would be funny just to watch it go up and down and just watch it just
- 8:49SPEAKER_01: to see what happens over time.
- 8:51SPEAKER_01: Because Jesus Christ, crypto is like the biggest fucking scam
- 8:56SPEAKER_00: Oh, for sure.
- 8:58SPEAKER_00: You've been really against crypto since like 2010.
- 9:01SPEAKER_01: I've been I've been bitching about crypto for so long.
- 9:04SPEAKER_01: I forgot I was bitching about crypto.
- 9:07SPEAKER_01: You had to remind me I was bitching about it back then.
- 9:10SPEAKER_01: Like back before it was even a thing.
- 9:12SPEAKER_01: I forgot I was doing it that long ago.
- 9:15SPEAKER_01: I don't even remember bitching about it that long ago.
- 9:18SPEAKER_01: That's how long it's been.
- 9:21SPEAKER_01: It's weird.
- 9:22SPEAKER_01: Like when you said I was complaining about it back in 2010, I was like, it was?
- 9:26SPEAKER_01: Really?
- 9:26SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it was whenever like Bitcoin came out,
- 9:30SPEAKER_00: you started, you were like, oh, this is, you know, the biggest scam.
- 9:35SPEAKER_00: I honestly do not remember that.
- 9:37SPEAKER_00: You would argue about it.
- 9:38SPEAKER_00: It was funny.
- 9:40SPEAKER_01: And it's insane.
- 9:42SPEAKER_01: It's insane.
- 9:42SPEAKER_01: It's just, I'm glad I noticed it from the beginning.
- 9:47SPEAKER_01: It was like, oh, yeah, no, this is obviously bullshit.
- 9:50SPEAKER_01: My instincts were apparently correct.
- 9:54SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 9:55SPEAKER_01: This is the recording for August 20th,
- 9:58SPEAKER_01: 2026, and we have a lot to get to on episode 110 of the Ogpod.
- 10:02SPEAKER_01: We ready to do this?
- 10:04SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 10:04SPEAKER_01: All right, then let's get to it.
- 10:06SPEAKER_01: It's time for the Ogre Nation news update.
- 10:10SPEAKER_00: Roar.
- 10:12SPEAKER_00: So despite the regime's nonstop whining that we have no money to pay for food
- 10:17SPEAKER_00: for hungry kids or Medicare and Medicaid or even Social Security,
- 10:22SPEAKER_00: we always seem to have unlimited money for stupid shit.
- 10:26SPEAKER_00: For example...
- 10:27SPEAKER_00: Trump ordered the Navy to replace the electromagnetic aircraft launch systems
- 10:32SPEAKER_00: and weapons elevators in the Gerald R.
- 10:34SPEAKER_00: Ford class of aircraft carriers with steam powered catapults that
- 10:39SPEAKER_00: the military began using in the 1950s.
- 10:42SPEAKER_00: So let's just rip out the advanced system and put in the 1950s system.
- 10:48SPEAKER_00: That seems smart.
- 10:49SPEAKER_00: Trump began the crusade against the electric launch systems after a sailor praised
- 10:53SPEAKER_00: the steam systems in 2017.
- 10:56SPEAKER_00: So this is almost a decade-long project for him.
- 10:59SPEAKER_00: The Navy resisted the change for years because steam-powered catapults are slower,
- 11:05SPEAKER_00: more expensive to maintain,
- 11:06SPEAKER_00: about $100 million per year, and need more sailors to operate.
- 11:10SPEAKER_00: There's about 500 less sailors on each ship,
- 11:14SPEAKER_00: on the ships with the new electromagnetic launch systems.
- 11:18SPEAKER_00: That's significant.
- 11:20SPEAKER_01: Yeah, especially when you put those ships out to sea and leave them out there for nine months.
- 11:26SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 11:27SPEAKER_01: Jesus Christ.
- 11:29SPEAKER_00: The new executive order will require the Navy to redesign the fourth ship class in
- 11:33SPEAKER_00: the Ford class, starting with the USS Doris Miller.
- 11:37SPEAKER_00: But experts have said the president's pet project will cost billions of dollars.
- 11:43SPEAKER_00: I am shocked that he's going to spend billions of dollars on something.
- 11:47SPEAKER_01: It makes you kind of wonder who's going to get rich off of that.
- 11:51SPEAKER_00: Correct.
- 11:53SPEAKER_00: General Atomics,
- 11:54SPEAKER_00: the company that builds the electric system for the Ford class,
- 11:57SPEAKER_00: released a statement saying the work on the Doris Miller is almost 50% complete and,
- 12:02SPEAKER_00: quote,
- 12:02SPEAKER_00: changing course now would introduce significant cost,
- 12:06SPEAKER_00: schedule, and integration risk.
- 12:08SPEAKER_00: Further,
- 12:09SPEAKER_00: the company warned, quote,
- 12:10SPEAKER_00: the decision will have broader implications for carrier readiness,
- 12:14SPEAKER_00: national security,
- 12:15SPEAKER_00: and U.S.
- 12:15SPEAKER_00: technological superiority,
- 12:18SPEAKER_00: potentially creating opportunities for adversaries to close the capability gap.
- 12:23SPEAKER_00: And just to be clear,
- 12:25SPEAKER_00: like China is already using,
- 12:27SPEAKER_00: they're outfitting theirs with electromagnetic launch systems, so.
- 12:31SPEAKER_00: We're going back in time and China's going forward.
- 12:35SPEAKER_00: And aren't we supposed to be competing with them?
- 12:37SPEAKER_01: Yeah, basically, he just wants us to have old style ships.
- 12:42SPEAKER_01: Also, if he wants us...
- 12:45SPEAKER_01: Wait, I don't know if you have this in here.
- 12:46SPEAKER_01: Let me take a quick look.
- 12:48SPEAKER_01: No, he wants us to move the tower...
- 12:52SPEAKER_01: So you know aircraft carriers have the flight tower.
- 12:56SPEAKER_01: He wants them moved back to where they were on the World War II ships.
- 13:03SPEAKER_01: Right now,
- 13:04SPEAKER_01: if I'm remembering this correctly,
- 13:06SPEAKER_01: they've been moved to the He wants them moved back to the middle of the ship
- 13:13SPEAKER_01: because that's how they looked in World War II.
- 13:15SPEAKER_01: And there's no reason to do that other than that's how he remembered them
- 13:20SPEAKER_01: and that's how he wants them.
- 13:23SPEAKER_01: This is just straight up,
- 13:27SPEAKER_01: I don't like the way things are now because I'm old and I want things to go back to
- 13:32SPEAKER_01: the way they were when I was younger and I like things the way they were
- 13:36SPEAKER_01: when I was younger.
- 13:37SPEAKER_00: Bro, me too, but let's grow up.
- 13:40SPEAKER_01: This is just old people shit,
- 13:42SPEAKER_01: and he's president,
- 13:43SPEAKER_01: and he's like, well,
- 13:44SPEAKER_01: I don't like this new stuff,
- 13:46SPEAKER_01: and I don't like it, so I want it changed, and I'm the president, and I'm staying.
- 13:51SPEAKER_01: Did you have to do that?
- 13:56SPEAKER_01: And he's just ordering it that way because he thinks he's the fucking king
- 14:01SPEAKER_01: of America and it's just dumb and it's counterproductive and he's going to...
- 14:07SPEAKER_01: to cost us billions and billions of fucking dollars and harm our national defense
- 14:14SPEAKER_01: because he's a grumpy old asshole,
- 14:17SPEAKER_01: which is fucking insane that everyone around him isn't looking at him saying, No,
- 14:23SPEAKER_01: we're not fucking doing that because it's stupid and because you're
- 14:26SPEAKER_01: an old grumpy person who just misses his childhood or when he was 20s and 30s
- 14:33SPEAKER_01: and that's how it used to be.
- 14:35SPEAKER_01: Why can't we go back to that?
- 14:36SPEAKER_01: No, that's not how we're fucking doing that.
- 14:38SPEAKER_01: Fuck off.
- 14:39SPEAKER_01: It's just stupid.
- 14:40SPEAKER_01: But everyone around him saying, oh, yes, sir.
- 14:43SPEAKER_01: Yes, sir.
- 14:44SPEAKER_01: Because all the adults are gone from the fucking room now.
- 14:47SPEAKER_00: Right, there's no more guardrails.
- 14:48SPEAKER_00: Moving on to more dumb, expensive shit Trump wants to do.
- 14:52SPEAKER_00: Despite the court rulings against him,
- 14:53SPEAKER_00: he's still demanding his name be put on the Kennedy Center.
- 14:57SPEAKER_00: This time,
- 14:57SPEAKER_00: the Center's board voted to close the Center for two years for renovations and add
- 15:02SPEAKER_00: an inscription under Kennedy's name on the outside of the building that would read,
- 15:07SPEAKER_00: quote, Restored and Renovated by President Donald J. Trump.
- 15:11SPEAKER_01: He's such a petty little fuck.
- 15:14SPEAKER_01: And they still won't take that tarp down.
- 15:16SPEAKER_01: It's still up because they don't want anyone to see that his name's not up there.
- 15:20SPEAKER_00: That's so stupid.
- 15:21SPEAKER_00: I made a wrong turn one time and ended up in the Kennedy Center parking lot and I panicked.
- 15:27SPEAKER_00: I was like, what is this important building?
- 15:30SPEAKER_00: So the board's vote was a response to a court ruling that forced them
- 15:34SPEAKER_00: to remove Trump's name from the building on the basis that only Congress had
- 15:37SPEAKER_00: the power to rename it.
- 15:38SPEAKER_00: Trump's ego can't let this fight go, of course, because he can't let anything ever go.
- 15:42SPEAKER_00: Nope.
- 15:43SPEAKER_01: He has to be winner.
- 15:44SPEAKER_01: He has to win.
- 15:45SPEAKER_01: He has to win.
- 15:46SPEAKER_00: Other than starting wars and starving kids,
- 15:48SPEAKER_00: his biggest accomplishment will be the vanity projects in D.C. Let's count.
- 15:54SPEAKER_00: He's torn down an entire wing of the White House to build a ballroom in a bunker,
- 16:00SPEAKER_00: replaced the floor of I don't think it was from New Hampshire,
- 16:04SPEAKER_00: but anyways,
- 16:05SPEAKER_00: nonetheless,
- 16:06SPEAKER_00: the slate was from the United States,
- 16:08SPEAKER_00: and now he's imported it from another country,
- 16:11SPEAKER_00: even though we have the granite state here, which, whatever, you know, what a moron.
- 16:27SPEAKER_00: He added a wall of presidents that degrades those who came before him,
- 16:31SPEAKER_00: put gold embellishments everywhere.
- 16:33SPEAKER_01: Tacky gold embellishments.
- 16:35SPEAKER_00: Including a sign that said the Oval Office that Obama made fun of.
- 16:40SPEAKER_00: Painted the statues by the Lincoln Memorial gold.
- 16:43SPEAKER_00: Is trying to add a walkway behind the memorial,
- 16:46SPEAKER_00: which I still don't understand why he wants to do that because there's literally
- 16:49SPEAKER_00: a path that goes down the Potomac River.
- 16:52SPEAKER_01: So he can slap his name on it.
- 16:54SPEAKER_01: That's true.
- 16:54SPEAKER_01: That's all.
- 16:55SPEAKER_01: It's just something he can slap his name on.
- 16:57SPEAKER_00: Wants to build a massive arch that will block the view of the Lincoln Memorial from
- 17:01SPEAKER_00: the Arlington National Cemetery,
- 17:03SPEAKER_00: which is really important because when they built Arlington National Cemetery,
- 17:07SPEAKER_00: they intentionally had a view that was a straight line from who was the president of
- 17:13SPEAKER_00: the Confederacy that's houses there?
- 17:15SPEAKER_00: Robert E. Lee?
- 17:16SPEAKER_00: From Robert E. Lee's mansion
- 17:19SPEAKER_01: to the Lincoln Memorial.
- 17:21SPEAKER_00: General Robert E. Lee, I'm so sorry.
- 17:23SPEAKER_00: Well, he was the president of the Confederate.
- 17:25SPEAKER_00: No, that was Jackson, right?
- 17:27SPEAKER_00: Jefferson, David, Jefferson.
- 17:30SPEAKER_01: Davis, yeah.
- 17:31SPEAKER_00: Davis, Jefferson.
- 17:32SPEAKER_01: Yeah, he was the losing general.
- 17:34SPEAKER_01: That's right.
- 17:35SPEAKER_00: Robert E. Lee was a losing general.
- 17:37SPEAKER_00: And when they built Arlington,
- 17:38SPEAKER_00: they intentionally had a straight line from his mansion to the Lincoln Memorial.
- 17:45SPEAKER_00: And now Trump wants to block that view,
- 17:47SPEAKER_00: which I understand that a lot of people won't understand the significance,
- 17:51SPEAKER_00: but we do.
- 17:52SPEAKER_00: We do.
- 17:53SPEAKER_00: And now he wants to paint the Eisenhower Building's historic granite white,
- 17:58SPEAKER_00: which will degrade the building.
- 18:00SPEAKER_00: He's renovating Lafayette Square,
- 18:02SPEAKER_00: and I am convinced that the Washington Memorial will soon be named
- 18:06SPEAKER_00: the Washington Trump Memorial.
- 18:08SPEAKER_00: And honestly,
- 18:09SPEAKER_00: that would actually be fitting,
- 18:10SPEAKER_00: because if you've ever seen the Washington Memorial and really paid attention to it,
- 18:14SPEAKER_00: it low-key looks like a KKK hat.
- 18:17SPEAKER_00: So...
- 18:18SPEAKER_01: Oh, and didn't he renovate the Lincoln bathroom?
- 18:22SPEAKER_00: That's right.
- 18:24SPEAKER_00: With all of that ugly marble?
- 18:25SPEAKER_00: Yep.
- 18:26SPEAKER_00: Yeah, Patrick points out that Arlington Cemetery was built on his land.
- 18:30SPEAKER_00: Yes, it was built on General Robert E. Lee's land, which, you know, that's hilarious.
- 18:35SPEAKER_00: I love the trolling there.
- 18:37SPEAKER_00: And then speaking of the fucking ballroom, because God, haven't we all heard enough of that?
- 18:41SPEAKER_00: And it wasn't going to cost us anything.
- 18:43SPEAKER_00: It wasn't going to cost us anything.
- 19:07SPEAKER_00: And then once he realized that the American people wanted nothing to do with
- 19:11SPEAKER_00: the monstrosity that will be bigger than the White House itself,
- 19:14SPEAKER_00: which is just insane,
- 19:16SPEAKER_00: he and his allies announced that a bunker was being built under it to protect him
- 19:21SPEAKER_00: and future presidents.
- 19:23SPEAKER_00: Last week,
- 19:24SPEAKER_00: the regime asked the Supreme Court to allow it to finish the ballroom
- 19:28SPEAKER_00: after lower court struck his plans down.
- 19:31SPEAKER_01: It's $900 million, not $900 billion.
- 19:35SPEAKER_00: 900 million, which I got right here because I put nearly a billion.
- 19:40SPEAKER_00: So Trump is now calling those who object to
- 19:43SPEAKER_00: the nearly $1 billion vanity project treasonous and disloyal.
- 19:48SPEAKER_01: Wait, did he actually use the word treasonous?
- 19:50SPEAKER_00: Yes, he did.
- 19:52SPEAKER_01: That's not a word though.
- 19:56SPEAKER_00: It is now, motherfucker.
- 20:00SPEAKER_00: So is Bigly.
- 20:00SPEAKER_00: They're Bigly treasonists.
- 20:06SPEAKER_01: Before you finish up here,
- 20:08SPEAKER_01: his thing that he's going to the Supreme Court about,
- 20:12SPEAKER_01: because even though the courts said stop building it,
- 20:15SPEAKER_01: he's still having them build it.
- 20:17SPEAKER_01: Yeah, he is.
- 20:20SPEAKER_01: That's the rationale they're using with the Supreme Court.
- 20:23SPEAKER_01: That is the whole national security thing.
- 20:47SPEAKER_00: We're defying your orders and continuing to do what we're not supposed to be doing.
- 20:51SPEAKER_00: Can't tear it down now.
- 20:53SPEAKER_00: It reminds me of this guy in my town who built a houseboat.
- 20:58SPEAKER_00: Not like a houseboat, but it was like an actual structure out in the intercoastal waterway.
- 21:04SPEAKER_00: And when the county was like, hey, that's not legal, he was like, but it's already here.
- 21:09SPEAKER_00: And they said, no, we don't care.
- 21:11SPEAKER_01: Tear it down.
- 21:14SPEAKER_00: So while Americans starve and babies die and we all suffer,
- 21:18SPEAKER_00: the federal government is throwing our money at his little projects like they're at
- 21:22SPEAKER_00: a strip club and Trump's the one who's dancing on the fucking pole.
- 21:25SPEAKER_00: And every single person enabling it needs to go to prison.
- 21:29SPEAKER_01: Do you know what the amazing thing is going to be?
- 21:32SPEAKER_01: When this regime falls and the Democrats are in charge again
- 21:37SPEAKER_01: and we start undoing all of this bullshit,
- 21:42SPEAKER_01: Republicans are going to be out there screaming bloody murder.
- 21:47SPEAKER_01: You can't waste the money on that.
- 21:49SPEAKER_01: That's a waste of taxpayer money, blah, blah, blah.
- 21:51SPEAKER_01: And it's like, no, no, no, hold on.
- 21:53SPEAKER_01: You gave him a blank check to do this in the first place when the economy,
- 21:57SPEAKER_01: like right now,
- 21:59SPEAKER_01: we are growing the deficit Not the deficit,
- 22:03SPEAKER_01: well, the debt and the deficit at the fastest pace ever in American history.
- 22:09SPEAKER_01: We're at, I don't even know where we're at now.
- 22:12SPEAKER_01: We're at like, what, $40 trillion or some insane fucking number.
- 22:17SPEAKER_01: Remember that Trump has exploded the debt faster than even he did in his first time in office.
- 22:25SPEAKER_01: And that was the fastest it had ever grown in American history.
- 22:29SPEAKER_01: And Republicans are just writing him blank check after blank check after blank check
- 22:32SPEAKER_01: to do all of this.
- 22:34SPEAKER_01: And they're going to go, it's like, well, you can't spend that money.
- 22:36SPEAKER_01: You can't spend that money.
- 22:37SPEAKER_01: That's crazy.
- 22:39SPEAKER_01: You can't spend that money to do any of this.
- 22:40SPEAKER_01: It's going to be like, you know what?
- 22:42SPEAKER_01: Fuck off.
- 22:43SPEAKER_00: Just fuck off
- 22:44SPEAKER_01: all of that.
- 22:45SPEAKER_00: I'm actually surprised that they haven't tried to create a star for him outside of
- 22:49SPEAKER_00: the Warner Theater in downtown where the Walk of Fame is in D.C.
- 22:54SPEAKER_00: I feel like that's going to be next.
- 22:56SPEAKER_01: I'm sure the second Stephen Miller thinks of it,
- 23:00SPEAKER_01: he's like, I got to keep my job safe for another week.
- 23:02SPEAKER_01: What other things can I suggest to keep him mollified and stop paying attention to me?
- 23:08SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's crazy.
- 23:10SPEAKER_01: TV says the Fuhrer bunker is actually a great idea because you know how
- 23:13SPEAKER_01: that Germany guy died in his little vanity project.
- 23:16SPEAKER_01: I know.
- 23:17SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 23:20SPEAKER_01: Let us move on.
- 23:27SPEAKER_01: Let us move on to the ogre who saw the future.
- 23:31SPEAKER_01: So sit back and let your old uncle ogre tell you a little story.
- 23:35SPEAKER_01: Once upon a time,
- 23:37SPEAKER_01: during the 2018 blue wave,
- 23:39SPEAKER_01: a freshman congresswoman popped up in New York City,
- 23:42SPEAKER_01: and her name was Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
- 23:45SPEAKER_01: She was part of The Squad,
- 23:47SPEAKER_01: a group of enthusiastically progressive elected officials who embraced
- 23:52SPEAKER_01: the Democratic Socialism.
- 23:53SPEAKER_01: You may have heard of it.
- 23:54SPEAKER_01: The GOP went to war against her immediately, and the progressive left loved her.
- 24:01SPEAKER_01: So did the alt-left.
- 24:03SPEAKER_01: Those are the fake progressives who poisoned the real progressive left.
- 24:06SPEAKER_01: But...
- 24:07SPEAKER_01: Your old Uncle Ogre knew AOC would become,
- 24:11SPEAKER_01: very shortly, public enemy number one of the alt-left.
- 24:16SPEAKER_01: There was something about her, you see.
- 24:18SPEAKER_01: Something true and sincere.
- 24:21SPEAKER_01: Sure.
- 24:21SPEAKER_01: Sure.
- 24:22SPEAKER_01: She was a Democratic Socialist, and she was not happy with where the Democratic Party was.
- 24:28SPEAKER_01: But she wanted to move things to the left, not burn it all down to the ground.
- 24:33SPEAKER_01: More importantly,
- 24:35SPEAKER_01: she was not interested in centering white And that led me to predict
- 24:39SPEAKER_01: with absolute certainty way back in mid-2019 that the alt-left, again,
- 24:48SPEAKER_01: the fake progressives poisoning the actual real left,
- 24:51SPEAKER_01: that they would Absolutely fucking hate her.
- 24:56SPEAKER_01: I knew this as sure as I knew that the sun would rise the next day.
- 25:00SPEAKER_01: Time passed, and the old laughed.
- 25:02SPEAKER_01: Again, the fake progressives, they soured on AOC.
- 25:07SPEAKER_01: But They didn't make too much noise about it because she was the weapon of choice
- 25:12SPEAKER_01: for the right to bash Democrats.
- 25:14SPEAKER_01: And that was useful for them,
- 25:16SPEAKER_01: or at least they thought it was,
- 25:18SPEAKER_01: because it didn't really work out for them as much as the geopolitics.
- 25:22SPEAKER_01: AOP and the right-wing media screamed and jumped up and down and just,
- 25:27SPEAKER_01: oh my God, AOC,
- 25:29SPEAKER_01: she's the face of the Democratic Party and she's a socialist and blah,
- 25:33SPEAKER_01: blah, blah, blah, blah.
- 25:34SPEAKER_01: That didn't really work out.
- 25:36SPEAKER_01: Instead of damaging...
- 25:37SPEAKER_01: And she used it very, very well.
- 25:39SPEAKER_01: She pushed progressive policy
- 25:59SPEAKER_01: She never stopped being a democratic socialist,
- 26:03SPEAKER_01: but she never became part of the democratic establishment exactly.
- 26:07SPEAKER_01: And now she's on the brink of becoming a category five hurricane.
- 26:11SPEAKER_01: Oopsie.
- 26:12SPEAKER_01: Here's the thing.
- 26:14SPEAKER_01: Millennials and Gen Z voters are poised to be the power in the 2028 election,
- 26:20SPEAKER_01: easily overwhelming boomers and my generation, which is Gen X.
- 26:25SPEAKER_01: And millennials and Gen Z very much like Democrats.
- 26:29SPEAKER_01: And Bernie's still their guy.
- 26:32SPEAKER_01: Guess who's going to be backing AOC?
- 26:35SPEAKER_01: Yeah, he's not going to be backing the establishment.
- 26:37SPEAKER_01: He's going to be backing her.
- 26:39SPEAKER_01: And AOC is making all the right noises for running for president.
- 26:42SPEAKER_01: And wouldn't you know it,
- 26:44SPEAKER_01: my good friends on the alt-left, again,
- 26:48SPEAKER_01: the fake progressives who've been trying to poison the left for decades,
- 26:52SPEAKER_01: they're having a...
- 26:53SPEAKER_01: Full-blown meltdown over this.
- 26:55SPEAKER_01: Post Left Watch on Blue Sky.
- 26:58SPEAKER_01: He's also on Twitter.
- 26:59SPEAKER_01: Well, I'm assuming it's a he.
- 27:00SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 27:01SPEAKER_01: But Post Left Watch on Blue Sky has been keeping track of the collective freak out
- 27:05SPEAKER_01: of the alt-left.
- 27:06SPEAKER_01: It's been amazing.
- 27:08SPEAKER_01: Elaine Greenwald has been crying to Tucker Carlson that AOC's just another Nancy Pelosi.
- 27:15SPEAKER_01: She's not a progressive radical at all.
- 27:17SPEAKER_01: And you know who else had AOC pegged back in the day as a phony?
- 27:21SPEAKER_01: Marjorie Taylor Greed because...
- 27:23SPEAKER_01: Sure, she's trustworthy as a judge of character.
- 27:26SPEAKER_01: Cenk Uygur, close personal friend of the pod, wants you to know that AOC is a fraud.
- 27:32SPEAKER_01: He's also, he knows she's a fraud.
- 27:34SPEAKER_01: She's not an FDR who's going to implement a progressive agenda.
- 27:38SPEAKER_01: She's just actually a Christian cinema who's going to sell us out for money and fame.
- 27:43SPEAKER_01: And who is Cenk talking to?
- 27:44SPEAKER_01: Glenn Greenwald.
- 27:46SPEAKER_01: Huh, so weird.
- 27:48SPEAKER_01: Brianna Joy Gray, super progressive Brianna Joy Gray.
- 27:52SPEAKER_00: Isn't that the one who goes to like award shows wearing MAGA dresses?
- 27:57SPEAKER_01: No, does she?
- 27:58SPEAKER_01: No, maybe not.
- 27:59SPEAKER_01: No, I don't think so.
- 28:00SPEAKER_01: But she totally knows so many people on the left who would vote for Tucker Carlson literally.
- 28:07SPEAKER_01: So, what's happening here?
- 28:22SPEAKER_01: She's a dangerous threat to the alt-left, the fake progressives, in generations.
- 28:28SPEAKER_01: She's an actual democratic socialist.
- 28:31SPEAKER_01: She's popular.
- 28:32SPEAKER_01: She's charismatic.
- 28:33SPEAKER_01: She's really fucking smart.
- 28:35SPEAKER_01: And she's very well-liked in the party and has a power base in it.
- 28:40SPEAKER_01: Younger voters are really hungry for her kind of politics.
- 28:45SPEAKER_01: And we're facing a wave election not just this year,
- 28:49SPEAKER_01: We're still going to be facing a wave election in 2028,
- 28:52SPEAKER_01: where Republicans are going to be massively unpopular after four years
- 28:56SPEAKER_01: of violent fascism and failed authoritarian economics.
- 29:00SPEAKER_01: By 2028, boomers are going to have lost their electoral power.
- 29:04SPEAKER_01: There's going to be less than 60 million of them voting because they're dying.
- 29:09SPEAKER_01: Gen X,
- 29:10SPEAKER_01: we never had any electoral power because we were never that big of a generation
- 29:15SPEAKER_01: and no one pays attention to us anyway.
- 29:17SPEAKER_01: AOC running for president.
- 29:19SPEAKER_01: And I'll see you next time.
- 29:34SPEAKER_01: It exists to rat-fuck the left and keep Republicans in power.
- 29:41SPEAKER_01: It exists to divide the left and stop us from fixing the damage Republicans cause.
- 29:46SPEAKER_01: They've been doing this for decades.
- 29:49SPEAKER_01: They see AOC as an existential threat to their owners in the GOP.
- 29:56SPEAKER_01: They will work nonstop between now and November of 2028 to convince younger voters
- 30:03SPEAKER_01: that she is a liar and a fraud and a sellout,
- 30:06SPEAKER_01: which is exactly what I said they would do seven long fucking years ago.
- 30:13SPEAKER_01: Is that going to work?
- 30:14SPEAKER_01: Depends on how stupid we are as a company.
- 30:17SPEAKER_01: Country?
- 30:18SPEAKER_01: What'd I say?
- 30:19SPEAKER_01: Company.
- 30:20SPEAKER_01: Country.
- 30:21SPEAKER_01: Close enough.
- 30:22SPEAKER_00: I mean, we are a company, really.
- 30:24SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 30:24SPEAKER_01: But when I tell you I know who these people are,
- 30:27SPEAKER_01: believe me, I haven't been wrong about them in a fucking decade.
- 30:32SPEAKER_01: They're incredibly predictable.
- 30:34SPEAKER_01: And once you see them for who they are,
- 30:36SPEAKER_01: the Cenk Ugers,
- 30:37SPEAKER_01: the Matt Taibis,
- 30:39SPEAKER_01: the Glenn The Greenwalls,
- 30:39SPEAKER_01: the Brianna Joy Grays, they just do this over and over and over.
- 30:45SPEAKER_01: They're Republican rat fuckers.
- 30:48SPEAKER_01: And once you see them,
- 30:49SPEAKER_01: you'll know exactly what they're going to do literally years before they do it.
- 30:53SPEAKER_01: Now, I wrote about this yesterday.
- 30:57SPEAKER_01: I don't think it's going to work because too many people want what AOC is going
- 31:04SPEAKER_01: to be giving, what she's going to be delivering.
- 31:09SPEAKER_01: I want daycare for kids.
- 31:10SPEAKER_01: I want this.
- 31:11SPEAKER_01: I want that.
- 31:11SPEAKER_01: And they're like, no, no, it's not enough.
- 31:13SPEAKER_01: They're gonna be like, what are you fucking talking about?
- 31:24SPEAKER_01: This is exactly what we've been asking for for the last 10, 15 years.
- 31:28SPEAKER_01: What are you talking about?
- 31:30SPEAKER_01: No, she's not progressive enough.
- 31:31SPEAKER_01: They're going to be like, okay, but you talk to Tucker Carlson.
- 31:34SPEAKER_01: Your friends are Tucker Carlson,
- 31:35SPEAKER_01: the white nationalist, the fucking Nazi who hangs out with Nick Fuentes.
- 31:40SPEAKER_01: Why am I listening to you, cink-fucking-yuger?
- 31:43SPEAKER_01: Why am I listening to Anna Kasparian,
- 31:45SPEAKER_01: who fucking hates trans women and complains about homeless people
- 31:50SPEAKER_01: and thinks they're disgusting and she's terrified of them?
- 31:52SPEAKER_01: Why would I ever listen to your fucking dumbass?
- 31:55SPEAKER_01: And they're going to be like, yeah, no, I'll go listen to Bernie Sanders and AOC.
- 31:59SPEAKER_01: Go fuck yourselves.
- 32:00SPEAKER_01: Go fuck off the Fox News and hang out with Glenn Greenwald some more.
- 32:04SPEAKER_01: And I'm very much looking forward to that because it's going to be really, really fucking funny.
- 32:10SPEAKER_01: And I personally look forward to voting for President AOC, but we're going to see.
- 32:15SPEAKER_01: So, yeah.
- 32:16SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 32:18SPEAKER_01: Story time is over.
- 32:19SPEAKER_01: Let us move on.
- 32:21SPEAKER_00: Joy Villa is the one who wears the Trump dresses.
- 32:27SPEAKER_00: So you've probably heard the news about the surrogacy fight happening in Texas.
- 32:31SPEAKER_00: If not, here's what happened.
- 32:42SPEAKER_00: The couple entered a contract with West that had a clause giving them the right
- 32:47SPEAKER_00: to ask the surrogate to terminate the pregnancy if a fetal anomaly was found.
- 32:52SPEAKER_00: Standard clause.
- 32:56SPEAKER_00: And the couple that the fetus had hypoplastic left heart syndrome.
- 33:00SPEAKER_00: That's a condition where the left side of the heart,
- 33:02SPEAKER_00: including the arteries,
- 33:03SPEAKER_00: do not develop and leads to painful surgeries for the baby
- 33:09SPEAKER_00: and possibly even heart transplantation.
- 33:11SPEAKER_00: Of course.
- 33:31SPEAKER_00: West then fled to Texas,
- 33:34SPEAKER_00: where the state law basically doesn't acknowledge surrogacy,
- 33:37SPEAKER_00: and states that the person who gives birth to the baby is the mother.
- 33:41SPEAKER_00: She began claiming that she's the mother of the baby, even though she's not, biologically.
- 33:46SPEAKER_00: Yeah, she kidnapped the baby.
- 33:48SPEAKER_00: That's how I feel about that.
- 33:49SPEAKER_00: That's impressive.
- 34:08SPEAKER_00: Because kidnapping wasn't enough.
- 34:10SPEAKER_00: She wanted to legally steal the baby.
- 34:12SPEAKER_00: Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, yes,
- 34:15SPEAKER_00: the same Ken Paxton that is running for the Senate and was tried for fraud
- 34:20SPEAKER_00: and all kinds of other corrupt charges,
- 34:22SPEAKER_00: got involved and proclaimed that he was going to protect the child in West.
- 34:26SPEAKER_00: Well, meh.
- 34:28SPEAKER_00: The baby was born in Dallas.
- 34:30SPEAKER_00: Wes named the child that isn't hers, Gabriel.
- 34:33SPEAKER_00: And as an aside,
- 34:34SPEAKER_00: I've actually been disappointed to see legit media sites calling the baby,
- 34:39SPEAKER_00: Baby Gabriel.
- 34:40SPEAKER_00: That is not his fucking name.
- 34:42SPEAKER_00: His real name is Rumi because, you know, he has actual parents.
- 34:47SPEAKER_00: The court granted Gilkar and Ahmed physical custody of their child in
- 34:51SPEAKER_00: a restraining order against West.
- 34:53SPEAKER_00: They are now seeking care for his heart condition.
- 34:56SPEAKER_00: I believe he had surgery and he's recovering from it.
- 34:59SPEAKER_00: And while they're doing everything to make sure that their child lives,
- 35:03SPEAKER_00: Paxton is fighting to give West the right to make medical choices for the child.
- 35:08SPEAKER_01: That's fucking creepy as shit.
- 35:10SPEAKER_00: Understand what that means.
- 35:11SPEAKER_00: A Republican official is attempting to circumvent surrogacy laws in other states,
- 35:17SPEAKER_00: because remember,
- 35:17SPEAKER_00: West is from Alaska and the parents are from California,
- 35:21SPEAKER_00: to allow a lunatic to legally kidnap.
- 35:25SPEAKER_00: And right now, it's just in Texas.
- 35:29SPEAKER_00: But what happens?
- 35:30SPEAKER_00: What happens when that spreads?
- 35:32SPEAKER_00: Remember when we said last week that the ideas on the fringe right never stay fringe?
- 35:37SPEAKER_00: There's another case in Florida where Where a woman agreed to be the surrogate for
- 35:45SPEAKER_00: a Chinese man, a Chinese national.
- 35:47SPEAKER_00: He was in China.
- 35:49SPEAKER_00: She was pregnant with triplets.
- 35:50SPEAKER_00: She gave birth to the triplets.
- 35:52SPEAKER_00: He couldn't get over here because of visa reasons to pick up the babies when they were born.
- 35:56SPEAKER_00: So she took the triplets home.
- 35:58SPEAKER_00: One of them, unfortunately, passed away.
- 36:00SPEAKER_00: Oof.
- 36:01SPEAKER_00: And then he sent surrogates who actually had,
- 36:04SPEAKER_00: like, not a surrogate, like having the baby, but other people for him.
- 36:11SPEAKER_00: He gave them permission to pick up his children.
- 36:13SPEAKER_00: She refused to hand over the children themselves.
- 36:16SPEAKER_00: And now Rick Scott is fighting for her to keep those babies.
- 36:21SPEAKER_00: And it's been two years and she hasn't given the kids to the father.
- 36:25SPEAKER_00: Wow.
- 36:33SPEAKER_00: All while Florida is declaring him a child trafficker and she's saying,
- 36:41SPEAKER_00: oh, I believe that he's trafficking those children and all of that stuff.
- 36:45SPEAKER_00: So in Texas and in Florida, they're allowing surrogate parents to steal babies.
- 36:50SPEAKER_01: You know,
- 36:51SPEAKER_01: that's a slippery ass slope because once you can take someone's baby as a surrogate,
- 36:58SPEAKER_01: it's just a matter of time.
- 36:59SPEAKER_01: It's like, well, I don't think this person's a fit parent.
- 37:02SPEAKER_01: So I've declared myself as a proper good Christian to take the baby away
- 37:07SPEAKER_01: from those parents because I don't like these parents.
- 37:10SPEAKER_01: These gay parents adopted this kid a couple of years ago,
- 37:14SPEAKER_01: but I'm a good Christian and I don't think they should have that baby anymore.
- 37:17SPEAKER_01: So I'm going to take it away from them.
- 37:19SPEAKER_01: I'm going to take this baby and adopt it as my own because I think I'm a more fit parent.
- 37:23SPEAKER_01: And as a good Christian,
- 37:25SPEAKER_01: I believe it's my Christian duty to save this child from these unfit parents.
- 37:31SPEAKER_01: And of course,
- 37:32SPEAKER_01: Republicans would be like, well,
- 37:33SPEAKER_01: of course,
- 37:34SPEAKER_01: it's her religious beliefs,
- 37:35SPEAKER_01: her strongly held religious right to save that child from unfit parents.
- 37:40SPEAKER_01: This is just like just the groundwork for that sort of thing.
- 37:44SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I mean,
- 37:45SPEAKER_00: the fight for baby Ruby in Texas and then the kids in Florida are highlighting
- 37:50SPEAKER_00: a major problem with surrogacy laws around the country
- 37:52SPEAKER_00: because there are no federal surrogacy laws,
- 37:55SPEAKER_00: which means that parents are entering into agreements to have children
- 37:59SPEAKER_00: that It could end up in this kind of nightmare because
- 38:02SPEAKER_00: the federal government hasn't stepped in to protect biological parents,
- 38:07SPEAKER_00: which I find crazy.
- 38:10SPEAKER_01: Remember, the Supreme Court loves contract law.
- 38:15SPEAKER_01: You always have to uphold contract law,
- 38:18SPEAKER_01: except when it's convenient for them not to uphold contracts.
- 38:23SPEAKER_01: Then it's like, yeah, no, we don't actually believe in contracts.
- 38:25SPEAKER_01: Fuck that shit.
- 38:26SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and in both of these cases,
- 38:28SPEAKER_00: powerful Republican politicians are trying to facilitate the kidnapping
- 38:33SPEAKER_00: of someone else's biological children.
- 38:36SPEAKER_00: And if they succeed, it would completely upend surrogacy around America.
- 38:42SPEAKER_00: And nothing could stop a surrogate from just going to a state like Texas or Florida
- 38:46SPEAKER_00: and being like, ah, this is my baby now.
- 38:49SPEAKER_00: So it's very, very scary.
- 38:50SPEAKER_00: It's very scary.
- 38:52SPEAKER_01: These people are the fucking worst.
- 38:54SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 38:55SPEAKER_00: You know,
- 38:56SPEAKER_01: yeah, fuck them.
- 38:58SPEAKER_01: We are now moving on to Florida Woman's favorite segment of the show.
- 39:02SPEAKER_01: I scream, you scream, we all scream because of fucking ice.
- 39:13SPEAKER_00: So we didn't get to this last week because I wasn't here,
- 39:16SPEAKER_00: but I still wanted to talk about it because I think it's really important.
- 39:19SPEAKER_00: The regime is now being pressured by their xenophobic,
- 39:22SPEAKER_00: racist-ass base to carry out the mass deportations of 350,000 Haitians
- 39:27SPEAKER_00: who lost temporary protective status thanks to
- 39:29SPEAKER_00: the most corrupt Supreme Court justices in history.
- 39:33SPEAKER_00: During the 2024 campaign,
- 39:35SPEAKER_00: Trump and Republicans targeted Haitian immigrants with really, really vile rhetoric.
- 39:40SPEAKER_00: We all remember the, they're eating the dogs, they're eating the cats, lie from Trump.
- 39:45SPEAKER_00: And the right was really,
- 39:47SPEAKER_00: really angry about the influx of Haitians in Springfield, Ohio, especially J.D.
- 39:51SPEAKER_00: Vance, who, that motherfucker.
- 39:53SPEAKER_01: I mean, he literally said he was making up the story about the cats and dogs.
- 39:57SPEAKER_00: He did.
- 39:57SPEAKER_01: He literally said it.
- 39:58SPEAKER_01: He admitted it out loud and they were just like, eh, whatever, who cares?
- 40:01SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 40:02SPEAKER_00: So even though the residents in Springfield don't share their racist sentiment,
- 40:09SPEAKER_00: they love their neighbors.
- 40:10SPEAKER_01: Yeah, they love them.
- 40:11SPEAKER_01: They helped revitalize that entire area economically.
- 40:14SPEAKER_01: They love them there.
- 40:16SPEAKER_00: So in the weeks since the racist justices allowed Trump to eliminate TPS for
- 40:21SPEAKER_00: the migrants,
- 40:22SPEAKER_00: about 50 of them from the Springfield area have been called into immigration
- 40:26SPEAKER_00: and given ankle monitors.
- 40:28SPEAKER_00: ICE is really only targeting that area right now.
- 40:31SPEAKER_00: And there's confusion in DHS and ICE about whether to start targeting them across the country.
- 40:38SPEAKER_00: One of the issues is that the island is experiencing severe political violence since
- 40:44SPEAKER_00: the assassination of its president a few years ago.
- 40:47SPEAKER_00: And gangs have pretty much taken over control.
- 40:49SPEAKER_01: I remember one of the reasons that so many of them here in the first place is
- 40:53SPEAKER_01: because Haiti got devastated by a massive fucking earthquake
- 40:58SPEAKER_01: and it already had political turmoil to begin with.
- 41:01SPEAKER_01: The island's a fucking train wreck to begin with.
- 41:04SPEAKER_00: And then they got hit by other storms like in recent years.
- 41:09SPEAKER_01: Yeah, they just had a really,
- 41:10SPEAKER_01: I mean, Haiti was never like, you know, in a good place to begin with.
- 41:14SPEAKER_01: And they just had a really brutal run of bad luck.
- 41:18SPEAKER_00: So the lack of action from ICE is causing people like Steve Bannon.
- 41:22SPEAKER_00: Remember the guy who conned people out of millions of dollars to build a wall?
- 41:26SPEAKER_00: And then Trump gave him a pardon.
- 41:28SPEAKER_00: He's such a nice guy.
- 41:29SPEAKER_01: What a nice man.
- 41:31SPEAKER_00: He's causing Steve Bannon to lash out at DHS Secretary Mark Wayne Millen, which,
- 41:36SPEAKER_00: what a name,
- 41:37SPEAKER_00: or Mullen, what a name, I can't even imagine naming my child Mark Wayne.
- 41:42SPEAKER_01: They couldn't decide.
- 41:44SPEAKER_00: Bannon said the regime should have had buses and planes ready for mass deportations
- 41:49SPEAKER_00: of the migrants right away.
- 41:51SPEAKER_00: Mullen told News Nation that the regime is giving Haitians the opportunity to leave
- 41:54SPEAKER_00: on their own.
- 42:02SPEAKER_00: What he didn't mention is that the regime is also facing pressure from Republicans
- 42:06SPEAKER_00: who understand the economic ramifications to some industries
- 42:10SPEAKER_00: if Haitian migrants are deported en masse.
- 42:12SPEAKER_00: It's not just them, though.
- 42:13SPEAKER_00: There are migrants from 11 other countries who have seen their TPS eliminated.
- 42:18SPEAKER_00: Four others, including my husband's country, will likely lose their status this fall.
- 42:23SPEAKER_00: My...
- 42:25SPEAKER_00: One of my family members just got her TPS that she applied for last year.
- 42:29SPEAKER_00: It's never been this late.
- 42:31SPEAKER_00: And because it came so late only a month ago,
- 42:33SPEAKER_00: she only has a license until September and then she'll lose it again.
- 42:37SPEAKER_00: Yay.
- 42:39SPEAKER_00: In total,
- 42:39SPEAKER_00: Trump's move to eliminate the humanitarian program that Congress signed into law
- 42:44SPEAKER_00: in 1990 will leave over 1.3 immigrants without status.
- 42:49SPEAKER_01: 1.3 million.
- 42:51SPEAKER_00: Yeah, sorry.
- 42:52SPEAKER_00: What did I say?
- 42:52SPEAKER_01: 1.3.
- 42:53SPEAKER_01: Oh, sorry.
- 42:56SPEAKER_00: 1.3 million immigrants without status and as we have always said
- 42:59SPEAKER_00: the regime never ever ever ever ever cared about whether immigrants were legal
- 43:06SPEAKER_00: or not.
- 43:06SPEAKER_00: They always intended to go after all of them.
- 43:09SPEAKER_01: Unless they're from South Africa.
- 43:12SPEAKER_01: They've imported over 10,000 South African white people, of course.
- 43:19SPEAKER_01: No one else.
- 43:20SPEAKER_01: But 10,000 South African immigrants have been let into the country in the last year.
- 43:26SPEAKER_01: That's been pretty much the only immigration they've allowed into the country.
- 43:30SPEAKER_01: It's been 10,000 white people.
- 43:32SPEAKER_01: Presumably all hardcore white national.
- 43:36SPEAKER_00: Which makes you wonder what they're doing with those people.
- 43:41SPEAKER_01: Anyway, aside from the murders over the last month,
- 43:45SPEAKER_01: you'll notice that ICE has not been in the headlines as much,
- 43:49SPEAKER_01: and that has been by design.
- 43:52SPEAKER_01: While Stephen Miller and his Nazi flunky Greg Bovino,
- 43:55SPEAKER_01: Oh, please, dear God, let him run for president.
- 43:59SPEAKER_01: They used ICE to terrorize immigrant communities as loudly as possible.
- 44:05SPEAKER_01: Mark Wayne Mullen has been pursuing the white nationalists' agenda of purging America
- 44:17SPEAKER_01: Mullen has been trying to be the reasonable Nazi, and it's been pissing Trump off a lot.
- 44:24SPEAKER_01: Magdalene's already pissed off, but now so is Trump.
- 44:28SPEAKER_01: Mullen's still terrorizing immigrants and deporting terrorists.
- 44:31SPEAKER_01: Tens of thousands of people.
- 44:33SPEAKER_01: But he's not making his racism big and splashy and performative.
- 44:38SPEAKER_01: And without the public cruelty, MAGA can't masturbate themselves to sleep every night.
- 44:44SPEAKER_01: And they're getting mad at Trump because it was never about the end result of a whiter America.
- 44:51SPEAKER_01: It was always about the violence and the sadism because they're genocidal monsters.
- 44:58SPEAKER_01: Never forget that.
- 45:00SPEAKER_00: Well, ICE has announced that shooting immigrants and Americans wasn't enough for its agents.
- 45:05SPEAKER_00: They'd like to also electrocute them.
- 45:07SPEAKER_00: The agency recently announced that it was spending $20 million on a product known
- 45:12SPEAKER_00: as GloVe or Generated Low Output Voltage Emitter.
- 45:17SPEAKER_00: Like the acronym...
- 45:25SPEAKER_01: I'll never live that down.
- 45:27SPEAKER_00: Like the acronym indicates,
- 45:31SPEAKER_00: these are gloves ICE agents would wear and they would deliver painful shocks
- 45:36SPEAKER_00: to suspects.
- 45:37SPEAKER_00: ICE claims the tool is necessary as a, quote, distraction and de-escalation device.
- 45:42SPEAKER_01: Which is bullshit, but whatever.
- 45:44SPEAKER_01: They never de-escalate, so I don't know what the fuck they're talking about.
- 45:47SPEAKER_01: They never, ever de-escalate.
- 45:49SPEAKER_00: I actually saw a report just really quickly.
- 45:52SPEAKER_00: I saw a report recently where they pulled this person out of a car on the side of
- 45:57SPEAKER_00: a busy highway.
- 45:58SPEAKER_00: And then they claimed that they had to leave the area really quickly because there was...
- 46:04SPEAKER_00: Like, violent protesters in the area,
- 46:07SPEAKER_00: but there was a local news crew standing on the sidewalk across while
- 46:10SPEAKER_00: the arrest was happening,
- 46:11SPEAKER_00: and they took footage of it,
- 46:13SPEAKER_00: and it never showed anybody there at all except for the news crew and the police,
- 46:16SPEAKER_00: or the ICE agents,
- 46:17SPEAKER_00: and they left the car,
- 46:18SPEAKER_00: the ICE agents left the car in the middle of the street and almost caused accidents
- 46:22SPEAKER_00: because people were driving down this busy street and, oh, a car!
- 46:28SPEAKER_01: Jesus fucking Christ.
- 46:29SPEAKER_01: They're just morons.
- 46:31SPEAKER_01: They're so poorly trained,
- 46:33SPEAKER_01: they're more dangerous than they would be if they actually were trained,
- 46:37SPEAKER_01: which is a problem.
- 46:38SPEAKER_01: But they're just morons to begin with.
- 46:40SPEAKER_01: But no one ever said Nazis were smart.
- 46:43SPEAKER_00: Yeah, exactly.
- 46:44SPEAKER_00: Well, following outrage from the public,
- 46:46SPEAKER_00: Democratic lawmakers began speaking out against the devices.
- 46:50SPEAKER_00: Senator Adam Schiff slammed Republicans for not raining in ICE when they had
- 46:54SPEAKER_00: the chance,
- 46:55SPEAKER_00: but instead giving them billions of dollars after they killed Americans
- 46:58SPEAKER_00: and immigrants in our street.
- 47:00SPEAKER_00: He said, quote,
- 47:01SPEAKER_00: now ICE is looking to purchase electrical shock gloves
- 47:05SPEAKER_00: to continue terrorizing our communities,
- 47:07SPEAKER_00: and asked, quote, how soon will they be used to inflict further cruelty?
- 47:12SPEAKER_00: Well, that's an easy fucking answer immediately.
- 47:17SPEAKER_01: The first time there's a video of them using it on like a kid,
- 47:20SPEAKER_01: people are going to be like, oh my God, we didn't know they were going to do that.
- 47:22SPEAKER_01: It's like, yes, you did.
- 47:24SPEAKER_01: We all knew they were going to do that because they're aching.
- 47:27SPEAKER_01: They're dying to grab some 16-year-old,
- 47:30SPEAKER_01: 15-year-old, 14-year-old kid and shock them because that's what they get off on.
- 47:36SPEAKER_01: They think it's hilarious to hurt people.
- 47:38SPEAKER_00: Right, I mean,
- 47:39SPEAKER_00: ICE is immediately going to use the gloves to inflict further pain
- 47:43SPEAKER_00: on whoever they come in contact with.
- 47:45SPEAKER_00: Immigrants, abuelas, abuelos, children, pregnant women, protesters.
- 47:51SPEAKER_00: Nobody will be safe because cruelty is the fucking point.
- 47:55SPEAKER_00: Again, cruelty is the fucking point.
- 47:59SPEAKER_00: And when the regime falls, and it will, they must all be held accountable.
- 48:04SPEAKER_00: As we always say.
- 48:06SPEAKER_01: Nuremberg them all.
- 48:07SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 48:11SPEAKER_01: So we haven't done this section in a while.
- 48:13SPEAKER_01: We haven't done one of these sections in a while,
- 48:15SPEAKER_01: but it's time for Scenes from a Crashing Economy.
- 48:25SPEAKER_00: Your sound effects remind me of the Friend episode where Ross learns how to play the keyboard.
- 48:30SPEAKER_00: You never watched Friends.
- 48:31SPEAKER_00: I'm going to have to send it to you.
- 48:32SPEAKER_01: No, I haven't looked up that scene because you've mentioned that before.
- 48:35SPEAKER_01: It's just you.
- 48:36SPEAKER_01: No.
- 48:40SPEAKER_01: This is one of those stories most people aren't going to be paying attention to
- 48:44SPEAKER_01: because it doesn't mean anything unless you're a bit of a nerd
- 48:48SPEAKER_01: or you've been deliberately looking for massive red flags.
- 48:52SPEAKER_01: But that is what you have us for.
- 48:54SPEAKER_01: The New York Times.
- 48:55SPEAKER_01: No, no.
- 49:10SPEAKER_01: A firm, one of the most popular Paylater apps,
- 49:12SPEAKER_01: has started providing some tenants loans to extend
- 49:26SPEAKER_01: Many dentists,
- 49:29SPEAKER_01: veterinarians,
- 49:29SPEAKER_01: and medical clinics now offer instant pay-later financing,
- 49:34SPEAKER_01: and Intuit,
- 49:35SPEAKER_01: this year,
- 49:35SPEAKER_01: started promoting FileNow pay-later loans to TurboTax users who owe money
- 49:41SPEAKER_01: in their tax return.
- 49:43SPEAKER_01: Pay-later loans are becoming the, quote,
- 49:45SPEAKER_01: working capital for the modern middle class,
- 49:48SPEAKER_01: said Karen Webster,
- 49:49SPEAKER_01: the chief executive of Payments,
- 49:52SPEAKER_01: P-Y-M-N-T-S, a news and marketing research company for the payments industry.
- 49:58SPEAKER_01: Consumers are using it for more essential everyday things.
- 50:03SPEAKER_01: In 2025, people ran $160 billion in debt through these companies.
- 50:08SPEAKER_01: That's on top of the $2-3 trillion in credit card debt American households now hold.
- 50:13SPEAKER_01: That's unsustainable.
- 50:19SPEAKER_01: And it's what happened in 2008-2009.
- 50:22SPEAKER_01: When these companies started to collapse because people couldn't pay what they owed,
- 50:26SPEAKER_01: the domino effect is going to happen.
- 50:28SPEAKER_01: But that's not going to stop people from losing their jobs and their homes
- 50:31SPEAKER_01: and their pensions, because the rich gets
- 50:43SPEAKER_01: Socialism, we get a fuck you.
- 50:46SPEAKER_01: And that's when a new Tea Party will magically appear to tell us to be mad at
- 50:50SPEAKER_01: the Democrats, not Wall Street.
- 50:52SPEAKER_01: Except I don't think that's going to work this time.
- 50:55SPEAKER_01: And that's when things are going to get sued.
- 50:58SPEAKER_01: Super, super fucking ugly.
- 51:00SPEAKER_01: And I can't wait.
- 51:01SPEAKER_01: One other thing, I didn't put this in the notes because I just saw it last night.
- 51:06SPEAKER_01: I saw several videos about this on TikTok,
- 51:09SPEAKER_01: which normally I don't go to TikTok for news exactly,
- 51:13SPEAKER_01: but the NASDAQ,
- 51:16SPEAKER_01: which is one of the things people keep track of for Wall Street,
- 51:20SPEAKER_01: people are starting to hedge funds, the big hedge funds, right?
- 51:23SPEAKER_01: These are the people with tons and tons of money.
- 51:26SPEAKER_01: They...
- 51:27SPEAKER_01: Buy stocks.
- 51:27SPEAKER_01: They bet on this and the other.
- 51:30SPEAKER_01: They're starting to short NASDAQ, which means they're betting against NASDAQ.
- 51:37SPEAKER_00: Oh, that's crazy.
- 51:38SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 51:39SPEAKER_01: The people with money,
- 51:40SPEAKER_01: the people who watch this stuff professionally and move billions
- 51:46SPEAKER_01: of dollars are now betting against NASDAQ,
- 51:50SPEAKER_01: which means they're expecting NASDAQ to drop.
- 51:53SPEAKER_01: A lot because you don't bet against if it's only going to drop a point or two,
- 51:57SPEAKER_01: a little bit here, a little bit there.
- 51:59SPEAKER_01: You bet when it's going to move So that's not good.
- 52:29SPEAKER_01: This is the thing that we've been talking about for quite some time.
- 52:32SPEAKER_01: Those bubbles always pop.
- 52:36SPEAKER_01: Did we talk about that?
- 52:40SPEAKER_01: The government bailing out Japan?
- 52:41SPEAKER_01: Did we talk about that on here?
- 52:43SPEAKER_01: No.
- 52:44SPEAKER_01: We pumped in a whole shitload of money into the Japanese economy
- 52:49SPEAKER_01: to keep their economy from collapsing because that keeps our economy propped up
- 52:55SPEAKER_01: and it didn't work.
- 52:56SPEAKER_01: The Japanese economy is still spiraling out of control.
- 52:59SPEAKER_01: Even though we gave them a shit ton of money to bail them out.
- 53:03SPEAKER_01: So this is starting to pick up steam.
- 53:08SPEAKER_01: And yeah,
- 53:10SPEAKER_01: Eric Love,
- 53:10SPEAKER_01: Dr. Lovlo over here, Japan's economy is going to collapse by the end of October.
- 53:14SPEAKER_01: And that's just one of those domino things.
- 53:17SPEAKER_01: They go down.
- 53:18SPEAKER_01: It hits us very, very hard.
- 53:21SPEAKER_01: And well, that's one of the things that the regime's trying to avoid.
- 53:25SPEAKER_01: We're all interconnected and oil prices are still going up
- 53:29SPEAKER_01: because no matter how often Trump says the Strait of Hormuz is open,
- 53:33SPEAKER_01: it fucking isn't.
- 53:35SPEAKER_01: Shipping is not going through the Strait of Hormuz and we can't make Iran open it.
- 53:40SPEAKER_01: So the economy is teetering on the edge of kaboom.
- 53:46SPEAKER_01: And even though Bob is here to tell us how cute and adorable he is,
- 53:49SPEAKER_01: that's not going to help the economy.
- 53:51SPEAKER_01: So buckle in, people.
- 53:53SPEAKER_01: It's going to be a rough ride.
- 53:55SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 53:56SPEAKER_01: Time to move on.
- 53:58SPEAKER_01: On to headlines for short attention spans.
- 54:01SPEAKER_00: So the mees of the world.
- 54:04SPEAKER_00: Donald Trump took some time to remind everybody what a creepy pervert he is
- 54:07SPEAKER_00: by rambling about beautiful young girls over and over and over and over again
- 54:13SPEAKER_00: and how they desperately wanted to meet him at the White House.
- 54:16SPEAKER_00: His comments came during a speech in front of a crowd
- 54:18SPEAKER_00: of law enforcement officers outside of New York City.
- 54:22SPEAKER_00: He started taking credit for the crime rate in D.C., even though it's been dropping for years.
- 54:26SPEAKER_00: He claimed that it was actually not dropping for years,
- 54:30SPEAKER_00: but it was due to the National Guard deployment in the city.
- 54:33SPEAKER_01: It really isn't.
- 54:35SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 54:36SPEAKER_00: And as a reminder, he wasn't able to deploy those same troops during the insurrection.
- 54:41SPEAKER_00: But, you know.
- 54:42SPEAKER_00: So weird.
- 54:43SPEAKER_01: So weird.
- 54:43SPEAKER_00: Isn't that strange?
- 54:45SPEAKER_00: I don't know why that is.
- 54:46SPEAKER_00: That was Nancy Pelosi's fault, though.
- 54:47SPEAKER_00: My bad.
- 54:49SPEAKER_00: The pervert-in-chief claimed,
- 54:50SPEAKER_00: quote, every day I come to the White House and people are thanking me.
- 54:55SPEAKER_00: Thank you, sir.
- 54:56SPEAKER_00: Thank you.
- 54:56SPEAKER_00: Thank you, sir.
- 54:57SPEAKER_00: You know,
- 54:58SPEAKER_00: these young,
- 54:58SPEAKER_00: beautiful girls,
- 54:59SPEAKER_00: these young, beautiful girls, these young, beautiful girls in the White House.
- 55:04SPEAKER_00: It's an actual quote.
- 55:07SPEAKER_00: You know, they come in.
- 55:08SPEAKER_00: Now, I'm not supposed to say beautiful, but what the hell?
- 55:11SPEAKER_01: Wait, do they have tears in their eyes?
- 55:13SPEAKER_01: He forgot about tears in their eyes.
- 55:14SPEAKER_01: That's the thing with them, tears in his eyes.
- 55:16SPEAKER_01: They have tears in their eyes when they say, thank you, sir.
- 55:18SPEAKER_01: Thank you.
- 55:18SPEAKER_00: Yeah, the gross rambling speech reminded me of that one time that a group
- 55:23SPEAKER_00: of little girls walked by him at Trump Tower.
- 55:26SPEAKER_00: Do you remember that?
- 55:27SPEAKER_00: There was a video of it during the 2015 election,
- 55:29SPEAKER_00: and he claimed that he'd be dating one of them in 10 years.
- 55:32SPEAKER_00: He's just so...
- 55:34SPEAKER_01: He's so fucking disgusting.
- 55:35SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 55:36SPEAKER_00: And as Antoine Dodson once said from the viral news clip, hide your kids, hide your wife.
- 55:43SPEAKER_01: Oh, Dr. Lolo,
- 55:49SPEAKER_00: he's bad with names.
- 55:50SPEAKER_01: His pick at Palm Beach County Clerk of Courts just got arrested
- 55:53SPEAKER_01: for sexually abusing his fucking grandson.
- 55:56SPEAKER_01: Wow, what?
- 55:57SPEAKER_01: A Republican is a pedophile?
- 56:00SPEAKER_01: No fucking way.
- 56:02SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's actually a huge scandal here right now.
- 56:06SPEAKER_01: Hold on.
- 56:06SPEAKER_01: Oh, it's a day ending.
- 56:07SPEAKER_01: Why?
- 56:08SPEAKER_01: Of course the Republicans are pedophile.
- 56:10SPEAKER_01: It's just every fucking day with these people.
- 56:14SPEAKER_01: You should actually read about that because it's pretty crazy.
- 56:17SPEAKER_01: These people are fucking monsters.
- 56:19SPEAKER_01: And I'm telling I'm telling you,
- 56:22SPEAKER_01: a decade from now,
- 56:24SPEAKER_01: they're going to be arguing that this is perfectly natural and biblical
- 56:27SPEAKER_01: and why are people so mad about it?
- 56:29SPEAKER_01: It's just going to be a thing for them.
- 56:31SPEAKER_01: And they're going to be like,
- 56:32SPEAKER_01: and the press is going to be like,
- 56:34SPEAKER_01: well, it's a matter of opinion on whether or not sex with children is normal.
- 56:40SPEAKER_01: Can't wait.
- 56:40SPEAKER_01: I'm telling you.
- 56:41SPEAKER_01: It's going to be like every time I hear a reporter,
- 56:43SPEAKER_01: I'm just going to want to walk up to him and punch him in the face.
- 56:45SPEAKER_01: It's like, fuck you.
- 56:47SPEAKER_01: Drink fucking bleach.
- 56:48SPEAKER_01: Anyway, tech CEOs.
- 56:50SPEAKER_00: And that, my friends, is why we don't have any sponsors.
- 56:53SPEAKER_01: Yep, pretty much.
- 56:57SPEAKER_00: So please send us money.
- 57:02SPEAKER_01: Because God knows no one else is going to.
- 57:08SPEAKER_01: So tech CEOs are so full of shit, it's embarrassing.
- 57:22SPEAKER_01: The only way for these CEOs to keep their companies from collapsing into
- 57:27SPEAKER_01: a black hole is to sucker investors into pouring billions into businesses that burn
- 57:35SPEAKER_01: through money faster than nerds like me at a never-ending anime convention.
- 57:40SPEAKER_01: So, they're not investing in today, you see.
- 57:43SPEAKER_01: They're investing in the future profits.
- 57:46SPEAKER_01: And those future profits are unlimited.
- 57:50SPEAKER_01: So, it only makes sense to give Elon Musk a trillion dollars because Tesla, the company...
- 57:55SPEAKER_01: And
- 58:04SPEAKER_01: if you believe that,
- 58:06SPEAKER_01: Dylan Taylor,
- 58:07SPEAKER_01: the billionaire founder and CEO of Voyager Technologies,
- 58:10SPEAKER_01: wants to send you to the moon.
- 58:12SPEAKER_01: He says we're definitely going to have cities on the moon within a decade.
- 58:15SPEAKER_01: On the moon?
- 58:16SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah.
- 58:17SPEAKER_01: And that definitely means people should keep investing in his company, his space company.
- 58:22SPEAKER_01: Totally legit.
- 58:23SPEAKER_01: We're going to be working on the moon and we're going to be mining on the moon
- 58:26SPEAKER_01: and people are going to be, you know, just commuting back and forth to the moon.
- 58:31SPEAKER_01: So honestly,
- 58:33SPEAKER_01: when the Silicon Valley bubble pops and Trump gives these people
- 58:36SPEAKER_01: a trillion dollar bailout while bread lines stretch for miles,
- 58:40SPEAKER_01: the tech CEOs should all be dragged down to the street and skinned to line.
- 58:46SPEAKER_01: And that also is why we don't get any sponsors.
- 58:48SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 58:51SPEAKER_00: Again, that's why we're not getting sponsors.
- 58:59SPEAKER_01: I'm telling you,
- 58:59SPEAKER_01: if there's a company out there that's making fucking guillotines,
- 59:02SPEAKER_01: they should be our sponsor.
- 59:05SPEAKER_01: We will definitely run a sponsorship for, you know, guillotines are us.
- 59:11SPEAKER_01: Because it's not a revolution unless it's French, yo.
- 59:14SPEAKER_00: Oh, God.
- 59:15SPEAKER_00: Maybe we could borrow the guillotine from the insurrectionists when they wanted to...
- 59:19SPEAKER_00: Take care of Mike Pence.
- 59:22SPEAKER_01: Okay, got it.
- 59:23SPEAKER_00: So the DOJ is still bothering Kilmar Abrego Garcia, because why not?
- 59:28SPEAKER_00: On Monday,
- 59:28SPEAKER_00: federal prosecutors filed an appeal in the U.S.
- 59:31SPEAKER_00: Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit to reinstate the criminal charges
- 59:34SPEAKER_00: against Abrego Garcia.
- 59:36SPEAKER_00: Now, if you remember, the DOJ had charged him with human trafficking.
- 59:39SPEAKER_00: They claimed that he was driving from Maryland to Texas several times a week with his children.
- 59:44SPEAKER_00: What?
- 59:46SPEAKER_00: In a trip that wasn't even possible.
- 59:50SPEAKER_00: It was not possible.
- 59:52SPEAKER_00: The district court dropped the case against
- 59:55SPEAKER_00: a Salvadoran immigrant earlier this year,
- 59:57SPEAKER_00: ruling that it was likely a vindictive prosecution because they were mad
- 1:00:01SPEAKER_00: that they had to bring him back from Seacott and treat him like a human being.
- 1:00:07SPEAKER_01: What?
- 1:00:07SPEAKER_01: That's terrible.
- 1:00:08SPEAKER_00: The DOJ claimed that the district court order was erroneous at every step.
- 1:00:14SPEAKER_00: Prosecutors also basically admitted that they were prosecuting him because of
- 1:00:18SPEAKER_00: the immigration case,
- 1:00:19SPEAKER_00: saying the government had an obvious interest in protecting the public
- 1:00:23SPEAKER_00: by prosecuting Abrego after the courts ordered his return.
- 1:00:28SPEAKER_00: So they're literally admitting that they prosecuted because he was returned to
- 1:00:33SPEAKER_00: the United States.
- 1:00:34SPEAKER_00: So fuck these people.
- 1:00:36SPEAKER_01: And speaking of the DOJ,
- 1:00:39SPEAKER_01: let us mark this story under least surprising revelation since we found out
- 1:00:43SPEAKER_01: that Trump's name was in the Epstein files more times and Harry Potter's name is in
- 1:00:46SPEAKER_01: the entire fucking series about Harry fucking Potter.
- 1:00:51SPEAKER_01: CBS reports that a whistleblower who will undoubtedly be investigated and charged
- 1:00:56SPEAKER_01: with a made up crime shortly has filed a complaint about
- 1:00:59SPEAKER_01: the regime's multiple attacks on universities last year for
- 1:01:03SPEAKER_00: anti-Semitism.
- 1:01:05SPEAKER_01: This is from CBS.
- 1:01:20SPEAKER_01: According to a former Justice Department attorney,
- 1:01:22SPEAKER_01: Haley Van Arum,
- 1:01:24SPEAKER_01: a longtime attorney,
- 1:01:25SPEAKER_01: a lawyer at the Justice Department Civil Rights Division,
- 1:01:28SPEAKER_01: accused political leadership at the Department of Health and Human Services and DOJ
- 1:01:32SPEAKER_01: of improperly pushing staff to issue accusations.
- 1:01:35SPEAKER_01: It was so fucking obvious this was bullshit from the beginning.
- 1:01:37SPEAKER_01: And what made it even worse was how the legacy press played along
- 1:01:39SPEAKER_01: if systemic anti-Semitism was a real problem on campuses.
- 1:01:57SPEAKER_00: Hey, really quickly, didn't they just lose against Harvard?
- 1:02:01SPEAKER_00: Yep.
- 1:02:02SPEAKER_01: Now, was there a problem with some of the Gaza protests?
- 1:02:05SPEAKER_01: Abso-fucking-lutely.
- 1:02:07SPEAKER_01: We've talked about this repeatedly for the last two years.
- 1:02:10SPEAKER_01: And if you still don't think screaming that...
- 1:02:12SPEAKER_01: But that's
- 1:02:19SPEAKER_01: not the same as the university engaging in systemic discrimination
- 1:02:23SPEAKER_01: and everybody fucking knew it.
- 1:02:26SPEAKER_01: The ones that caved will be shamed for eternity.
- 1:02:30SPEAKER_01: Columbia, Brown, University of Virginia, etc.
- 1:02:34SPEAKER_01: All covered themselves in disgrace.
- 1:02:37SPEAKER_01: Harvard told Trump to fuck off.
- 1:02:40SPEAKER_01: And he's been losing in court for over a year.
- 1:02:43SPEAKER_01: And he just lost again.
- 1:02:45SPEAKER_01: You just mentioned it.
- 1:02:46SPEAKER_01: Because of course he's lost.
- 1:02:48SPEAKER_01: It was all garbage that would never hold up under the slightest bit of scrutiny.
- 1:02:53SPEAKER_01: And now we have whistleblowers,
- 1:02:55SPEAKER_01: which makes everyone that played along look even more fucking pathetic.
- 1:02:59SPEAKER_00: And you know who's playing along real hard?
- 1:03:02SPEAKER_00: John fucking Fetterman.
- 1:03:03SPEAKER_00: I was telling Ogre about this recently.
- 1:03:06SPEAKER_00: I watched the interview between him and Jon Stewart,
- 1:03:10SPEAKER_00: and it was a really good interview because you were just like, what the fuck?
- 1:03:15SPEAKER_00: I actually believe the stroke did more damage than we initially thought.
- 1:03:19SPEAKER_00: During the thing,
- 1:03:20SPEAKER_00: he mentioned,
- 1:03:22SPEAKER_00: and this is something that I've heard said repeatedly, well,
- 1:03:27SPEAKER_00: Israel's not committing a genocide because if they wanted to commit a genocide,
- 1:03:32SPEAKER_00: they could do it quickly.
- 1:03:34SPEAKER_00: And Jon Stewart was like, it doesn't mean...
- 1:03:37SPEAKER_01: Doing it slow doesn't mean it's not...
- 1:03:39SPEAKER_00: Doing it slow doesn't mean that you're not killing a group of people.
- 1:03:43SPEAKER_01: It took us decades and decades and decades and decades and decades to wipe out
- 1:03:48SPEAKER_01: the Native Americans.
- 1:03:48SPEAKER_01: It doesn't mean it wasn't a genocide.
- 1:03:50SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 1:03:51SPEAKER_00: And then he said, well, there's just collateral damage.
- 1:03:54SPEAKER_01: What a fucking piece of shit.
- 1:03:56SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 1:03:56SPEAKER_00: So that's our guy.
- 1:03:58SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:03:58SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:03:59SPEAKER_01: Not for much longer.
- 1:04:00SPEAKER_01: Not for much longer.
- 1:04:01SPEAKER_01: When this whole thing,
- 1:04:03SPEAKER_01: when this regime falls and the tribunals begin,
- 1:04:05SPEAKER_01: every fucking collaborator should be made to suffer what they've done.
- 1:04:09SPEAKER_01: Like we keep saying, never hurt them all.
- 1:04:12SPEAKER_00: Oh, that was close.
- 1:04:13SPEAKER_00: We almost got that one.
- 1:04:15SPEAKER_00: After 110 episodes.
- 1:04:21SPEAKER_00: Well, let's wrap up some headlines with some good news.
- 1:04:25SPEAKER_00: Democratic turnout through Israel.
- 1:04:26SPEAKER_00: According to the AP,
- 1:04:27SPEAKER_00: Dems are turning out in numbers not seen in decades in this year's primaries.
- 1:04:30SPEAKER_00: For example, in Wisconsin, they cast almost 800,000 votes.
- 1:04:33SPEAKER_00: That's the highest total in over 20 years.
- 1:04:35SPEAKER_00: Michigan had a record turnout of 1.5 million Democrats.
- 1:04:37SPEAKER_00: That was, you know, like I said, a record turnout.
- 1:04:57SPEAKER_00: That's great news for us.
- 1:04:59SPEAKER_00: As I mentioned earlier on the show,
- 1:05:02SPEAKER_00: before the show,
- 1:05:03SPEAKER_00: Sarasota County in Florida has been controlled by,
- 1:05:07SPEAKER_00: their school board has been controlled by vile,
- 1:05:09SPEAKER_00: vile fucking Republicans for four years.
- 1:05:12SPEAKER_00: And Republicans just lost control of the school board last night.
- 1:05:16SPEAKER_00: So this is outstanding news.
- 1:05:19SPEAKER_00: And that's happening in a state where,
- 1:05:21SPEAKER_00: or in a county where Republicans outnumber Democrats by almost two to one.
- 1:05:26SPEAKER_01: Damn.
- 1:05:27SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 1:05:28SPEAKER_00: So hopefully we keep this going in November and stomp those bitches into the ground.
- 1:05:34SPEAKER_00: But I mean that figuratively.
- 1:05:36SPEAKER_00: So whoever's listening to us, it's a joke.
- 1:05:39SPEAKER_00: We don't mean it literally.
- 1:05:41SPEAKER_01: Now, the funny thing about that.
- 1:05:43SPEAKER_01: We got this from the AP News, right?
- 1:05:46SPEAKER_01: The title for that particular article was Democratic primary turnout has soared in some states.
- 1:05:53SPEAKER_01: Can it carry over to November?
- 1:05:56SPEAKER_01: Which was defunding.
- 1:05:57SPEAKER_01: Framing there,
- 1:05:59SPEAKER_01: when Republicans are doing really well in primaries,
- 1:06:03SPEAKER_01: no one ever asks if it's going to carry over to November.
- 1:06:06SPEAKER_01: It's always framed as Democrats are doomed,
- 1:06:09SPEAKER_01: Republican primary is up,
- 1:06:11SPEAKER_01: the turnout is up, Democrats are fucking doomed, blah, blah, blah.
- 1:06:14SPEAKER_01: When Democratic turnout goes through the roof, they don't talk about how Republicans are doomed.
- 1:06:19SPEAKER_01: They're like, boy, I don't know.
- 1:06:21SPEAKER_01: Can Democrats keep it going?
- 1:06:23SPEAKER_01: It's like, you know, man.
- 1:06:25SPEAKER_01: When Republicans are doing badly,
- 1:06:27SPEAKER_01: it's always a question about whether or not Democrats can keep it going.
- 1:06:30SPEAKER_01: When Democrats are doing badly, Democrats are doomed.
- 1:06:33SPEAKER_01: It's always the fucking same with the press.
- 1:06:36SPEAKER_01: Always the fucking same with them.
- 1:06:38SPEAKER_01: It's always the fucking.
- 1:06:40SPEAKER_01: The price of gas is up.
- 1:06:41SPEAKER_01: That's not the good news.
- 1:06:42SPEAKER_01: The good news is that Trump is so fucking stupid that he's telling
- 1:06:46SPEAKER_01: the American public to just suck it up and pay more
- 1:06:59SPEAKER_01: Mr. Man of the People,
- 1:07:01SPEAKER_01: he's so detached from the everyday lived experience of Americans,
- 1:07:06SPEAKER_01: he has no idea how he sounds.
- 1:07:09SPEAKER_01: This is from Reuters.
- 1:07:11SPEAKER_01: He told a political rally in Garden City, New York on Friday.
- 1:07:13SPEAKER_01: What the fuck?
- 1:07:43SPEAKER_01: These are not the words of a leader.
- 1:07:45SPEAKER_01: These are the ramblings of a moron who has no idea how pissed off his own voters are
- 1:07:51SPEAKER_01: and how expensive gas is along with everything else.
- 1:07:54SPEAKER_01: But what does he care?
- 1:07:56SPEAKER_01: It's not his problem.
- 1:07:57SPEAKER_01: And the people don't matter anyway.
- 1:07:59SPEAKER_01: The little people, who cares about them?
- 1:08:01SPEAKER_01: This is definitely a winning message.
- 1:08:04SPEAKER_01: Pay more.
- 1:08:05SPEAKER_01: It's fine.
- 1:08:06SPEAKER_01: Definitely a winning message just 10 weeks before the midterms.
- 1:08:09SPEAKER_00: Good job.
- 1:08:10SPEAKER_00: And we're paying a lot fucking more, man.
- 1:08:14SPEAKER_01: One last bit of good news, this time from Texas.
- 1:08:17SPEAKER_01: James Tallarico is raising so much money, he has to keep giving some of it back.
- 1:08:23SPEAKER_01: Notice reports that Tallarico has raised over $70 million and so many donors.
- 1:08:29SPEAKER_01: He's had to refund about a million so far.
- 1:08:33SPEAKER_01: That's an insane amount of enthusiasm in a state that we haven't won
- 1:08:39SPEAKER_01: a statewide office in decades.
- 1:08:42SPEAKER_01: The regime is overwhelming.
- 1:08:43SPEAKER_01: Almost certainly going to try to make a thing about it,
- 1:08:46SPEAKER_01: but that's just begging to make the Streisand effect kick in.
- 1:08:51SPEAKER_01: Giving a ton of free publicity to a Democrat in a state Republicans cannot afford
- 1:08:56SPEAKER_01: to lose,
- 1:08:57SPEAKER_01: and he's So, please,
- 1:08:58SPEAKER_01: we're begging you, GOP, we dare you to try to make a fucking case about this.
- 1:09:02SPEAKER_01: Please.
- 1:09:15SPEAKER_01: Please go out and say, oh, he's getting too much money.
- 1:09:20SPEAKER_01: Please make a big public fucking scandal about that.
- 1:09:23SPEAKER_01: What could possibly go wrong for you?
- 1:09:25SPEAKER_01: Teehee.
- 1:09:26SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 1:09:27SPEAKER_01: It is time to move on.
- 1:09:28SPEAKER_01: Let's wrap up the show here with some self-care of the week.
- 1:09:31SPEAKER_00: So as you know, I was not here last week.
- 1:09:34SPEAKER_00: I know that you all missed me.
- 1:09:36SPEAKER_01: Wait, you weren't here last week?
- 1:09:40SPEAKER_00: My son broke down.
- 1:09:42SPEAKER_00: His car broke down in the interstate while he was driving to work.
- 1:09:46SPEAKER_00: He never works during the week.
- 1:09:47SPEAKER_00: And of course, the one time he works during the week, his car breaks down.
- 1:09:50SPEAKER_00: So I happened to call him at like 630 in the morning because I saw that he was awake.
- 1:09:54SPEAKER_00: I was like, oh, that's weird.
- 1:09:55SPEAKER_00: And then he was driving.
- 1:09:56SPEAKER_00: I was like, let me just call and see how my baby's doing.
- 1:09:59SPEAKER_00: And he goes, mom, what do I do when my car is overheated?
- 1:10:02SPEAKER_00: And I'm like, pool over.
- 1:10:06SPEAKER_00: He goes, I already am.
- 1:10:07SPEAKER_00: I was like, oh, thank God.
- 1:10:09SPEAKER_00: So my husband and I both took the day off of work and rescued him.
- 1:10:13SPEAKER_00: I will say that he was in the worst absolute possible spot and handled it
- 1:10:18SPEAKER_00: so much better than I would have.
- 1:10:20SPEAKER_00: Well, I mean, I don't think that I would have sat there for two hours, but it's okay.
- 1:10:24SPEAKER_00: The poor kid was in the left emergency lane during rush hour traffic at the exit
- 1:10:29SPEAKER_00: for downtown Tampa on I-275.
- 1:10:33SPEAKER_00: And he said for the first hour, cars were flying by him at like 80 miles per hour.
- 1:10:37SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 1:10:39SPEAKER_00: Fortunately, he was all good.
- 1:10:40SPEAKER_00: He survived.
- 1:10:42SPEAKER_00: His dad replaced the coolant reservoir in his car.
- 1:10:45SPEAKER_00: His car is like 10 years old now, and it just hit 120,000 miles.
- 1:10:52SPEAKER_00: And it's an American model, so you know how that is.
- 1:10:56SPEAKER_00: Stuff starts failing.
- 1:10:57SPEAKER_00: I feel like so many things have failed recently.
- 1:11:00SPEAKER_00: I'm like, give me a break, kid.
- 1:11:02SPEAKER_00: But, uh...
- 1:11:04SPEAKER_00: Whatever.
- 1:11:05SPEAKER_00: The day after the car incident, I took both him and his brother to Busch Gardens.
- 1:11:10SPEAKER_00: Our tiny guy rode big boy roller coasters for the first time.
- 1:11:14SPEAKER_00: He went on two of them and then he said he was done.
- 1:11:17SPEAKER_00: And his brother was like, no problem.
- 1:11:19SPEAKER_00: And he told me later on the way home, mommy, I didn't like the drop.
- 1:11:25SPEAKER_00: Like he went on the longest roller coaster at Busch Gardens and it goes up
- 1:11:29SPEAKER_00: to like 65 miles per hour.
- 1:11:31SPEAKER_00: So it was like, and it does a loop.
- 1:11:34SPEAKER_00: So, you know, he did a, you know, he was brave.
- 1:11:38SPEAKER_00: We had a great time, but oh my God, it was so hot.
- 1:11:41SPEAKER_00: It was so hot.
- 1:11:43SPEAKER_00: I've been to Busch Gardens a million times during the summer because we used
- 1:11:46SPEAKER_00: to have annual passes.
- 1:11:47SPEAKER_00: So during the summer, I would always take Aiden and his friends.
- 1:11:49SPEAKER_00: But this time,
- 1:11:51SPEAKER_00: the heat index,
- 1:11:52SPEAKER_00: I checked the next day because I was like, why was I so hot yesterday?
- 1:11:55SPEAKER_00: The heat index was 110 degrees.
- 1:11:59SPEAKER_00: We were the hottest we have ever been in our entire lives.
- 1:12:02SPEAKER_00: My son lives five minutes away from Busch Gardens.
- 1:12:05SPEAKER_00: We went back to his apartment and both of my boys stripped down to their underwear.
- 1:12:13SPEAKER_00: And I was laughing because it was like my kids are 21 and 7.
- 1:12:18SPEAKER_00: So to see them both standing there in their boxer briefs,
- 1:12:21SPEAKER_00: I'm like, oh my god, it's like there's two of you.
- 1:12:25SPEAKER_00: You know what I mean?
- 1:12:25SPEAKER_00: It's just you guys are the same.
- 1:12:27SPEAKER_00: You guys are like mirrors of each other.
- 1:12:29SPEAKER_00: The little version and the big version.
- 1:12:31SPEAKER_00: Aww.
- 1:12:33SPEAKER_00: But it was so hot.
- 1:12:34SPEAKER_00: I can't even.
- 1:12:34SPEAKER_00: I think I told you later that I was like, I was so hot.
- 1:12:37SPEAKER_00: Oh, I sent you a picture of me there.
- 1:12:39SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you said it was brutal.
- 1:12:41SPEAKER_00: It was the sweat was beating on my forehead.
- 1:12:43SPEAKER_00: I was like, oh my gosh.
- 1:12:44SPEAKER_00: So we have annual passes, but we're not going back until November.
- 1:12:49SPEAKER_00: My little one was like, we'll go back in the winter.
- 1:12:51SPEAKER_01: Ha ha ha ha ha.
- 1:12:53SPEAKER_00: Still, it was really nice to spend the day with my boys.
- 1:12:56SPEAKER_00: The big one is in college and he lives on his own.
- 1:12:58SPEAKER_00: So I don't really see him that often.
- 1:12:59SPEAKER_00: He's always busy, especially this.
- 1:13:02SPEAKER_00: He starts classes next week.
- 1:13:03SPEAKER_00: And he told me that every hour of his day is scheduled.
- 1:13:07SPEAKER_00: And I believe that because he creates a schedule in advance.
- 1:13:10SPEAKER_00: And he's one of those few that fills up every,
- 1:13:13SPEAKER_00: every hour that he's awake, he has something in it.
- 1:13:15SPEAKER_01: Jeez.
- 1:13:16SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 1:13:16SPEAKER_00: He's, you know, square.
- 1:13:18SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 1:13:20SPEAKER_00: Um, so we don't really see him that often.
- 1:13:22SPEAKER_00: And I don't think I've ever gotten to spend the day with just the two of them.
- 1:13:26SPEAKER_00: It's always like me and my husband or like,
- 1:13:29SPEAKER_00: you know, a friend or his godmother, their godmother.
- 1:13:33SPEAKER_00: It's never just been me and both of them at like push gardens.
- 1:13:37SPEAKER_00: So that was a lot of fun.
- 1:13:39SPEAKER_00: It was really a good treat and totally worth the cost of the $9 waters.
- 1:13:44SPEAKER_01: Well, so for me, months ago, I talked to Bob Seska.
- 1:13:49SPEAKER_01: I used to work with him at the Banter.
- 1:13:51SPEAKER_01: We used to do a podcast together, but...
- 1:13:54SPEAKER_01: I talked to him about how he dealt years ago with his semi-adopted daughter leaving
- 1:14:00SPEAKER_01: for college, which was really hard for him.
- 1:14:02SPEAKER_01: And he told me that helping her move into her dorm really, really helped.
- 1:14:06SPEAKER_01: And you know what?
- 1:14:08SPEAKER_01: He was right.
- 1:14:09SPEAKER_00: It's almost like you have another friend who has a kid in college.
- 1:14:12SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but that's your actual kid.
- 1:14:16SPEAKER_01: So it's not an apples-to-apples comparison.
- 1:14:19SPEAKER_01: But moving day was Friday.
- 1:14:22SPEAKER_01: And Lila and I spent most of Thursday in bed paralyzed with anxiety and depression.
- 1:14:28SPEAKER_01: It was.
- 1:14:29SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:14:29SPEAKER_01: Honestly, for a kid who's not related to me, it's spooky how much we're alike.
- 1:14:34SPEAKER_01: But I don't know if she cried on Thursday, but I did multiple times.
- 1:14:38SPEAKER_01: Thursday was not a great day.
- 1:14:40SPEAKER_01: But Friday came anyway, as Friday tends to do.
- 1:14:43SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:14:44SPEAKER_01: Lila drove down with her mother and I drove down with Anastasia
- 1:14:48SPEAKER_01: and everything went smooth as butter.
- 1:14:50SPEAKER_01: We unpacked most of Lila's stuff.
- 1:14:52SPEAKER_01: We set up her room.
- 1:14:53SPEAKER_01: I set up the electronics and put together some furniture.
- 1:14:57SPEAKER_01: Then we went out for lunch and Anastasia gave Lila like a standup picture frame
- 1:15:01SPEAKER_01: that she had made with the collage of family photos from the last decade
- 1:15:05SPEAKER_01: and had like little foam knickknacks around the outside of it that she,
- 1:15:08SPEAKER_01: that Anastasia cut out and glued on that represented important stuff
- 1:15:12SPEAKER_01: that we had done over the years.
- 1:15:14SPEAKER_01: Apple picking or a specific video game that the girls had played together that meant
- 1:15:18SPEAKER_01: a lot to them.
- 1:15:19SPEAKER_01: I love that.
- 1:15:20SPEAKER_01: That's so cute.
- 1:15:21SPEAKER_01: There was a convention badge on it, that sort of thing.
- 1:15:25SPEAKER_01: Lila loved it.
- 1:15:26SPEAKER_01: So we finished up and then it was time to go.
- 1:15:29SPEAKER_01: Anastasia started to cry and we left her and Lila in the bedroom to talk for a bit.
- 1:15:35SPEAKER_01: And then I went in and we talked and I managed to last 30 whole seconds
- 1:15:39SPEAKER_01: before I burst into tears.
- 1:15:41SPEAKER_01: And then we drove home.
- 1:15:43SPEAKER_01: Lila was overwhelmed by the entire day.
- 1:15:46SPEAKER_01: So she was just kind of numb the entire time.
- 1:15:50SPEAKER_01: She didn't start crying until Saturday the next day.
- 1:15:53SPEAKER_01: But she spent Sunday thrift shopping with her friends.
- 1:15:56SPEAKER_01: And we were all stressed as fuck.
- 1:16:14SPEAKER_01: Because we weren't sure how it was going to go.
- 1:16:15SPEAKER_01: Was she going to panic?
- 1:16:16SPEAKER_01: But she got the class on time.
- 1:16:19SPEAKER_01: She really enjoyed it.
- 1:16:20SPEAKER_01: She met some people.
- 1:16:21SPEAKER_01: She hung out with them.
- 1:16:22SPEAKER_01: And she thinks she's going to make some friends in her classes,
- 1:16:24SPEAKER_01: which is wildly optimistic for Lila.
- 1:16:28SPEAKER_01: And I have...
- 1:16:28SPEAKER_01: I haven't been able to breathe since last week.
- 1:16:30SPEAKER_01: So hearing that she really liked her class and she met people that weren't
- 1:16:37SPEAKER_01: from her old school,
- 1:16:38SPEAKER_01: that was great and something I absolutely needed to hear because I've just been...
- 1:16:45SPEAKER_00: A hot mess, guys.
- 1:16:46SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I have not been dealing with this well.
- 1:16:48SPEAKER_01: So we're going to see how the first couple of weeks go.
- 1:16:51SPEAKER_01: I'm still really sad she's not here,
- 1:16:53SPEAKER_01: and I'm still really stressed about how she's going to be and how everything's going
- 1:16:58SPEAKER_01: to go.
- 1:16:58SPEAKER_01: But I'm really happy that she's starting to settle into her new life and that she's at college.
- 1:17:04SPEAKER_01: It's going well so far,
- 1:17:05SPEAKER_01: and I'm hoping that we've given her all the tools she needs to thrive,
- 1:17:09SPEAKER_01: but it still hurts a lot,
- 1:17:10SPEAKER_01: and I miss my little girl,
- 1:17:12SPEAKER_01: waiting to see when we can go down and visit,
- 1:17:15SPEAKER_01: because,
- 1:17:15SPEAKER_01: you know,
- 1:17:16SPEAKER_01: we have to wait a while,
- 1:17:16SPEAKER_01: we can't just immediately run down there the first weekend,
- 1:17:19SPEAKER_01: we have to give the time.
- 1:17:23SPEAKER_01: Unless she calls and says, I need you guys to come down on Saturday.
- 1:17:28SPEAKER_00: You guys are going to give her space.
- 1:17:30SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I would love to go down this weekend.
- 1:17:34SPEAKER_00: Surprise!
- 1:17:35SPEAKER_01: Yeah, we're not going to crowd her.
- 1:17:38SPEAKER_01: We'll figure out something.
- 1:17:39SPEAKER_01: We'll get sorted.
- 1:17:40SPEAKER_01: Her apartment's really nice.
- 1:17:41SPEAKER_01: She actually has an apartment.
- 1:17:43SPEAKER_00: Which is crazy.
- 1:17:44SPEAKER_00: I told him for a freshman to get an apartment like that.
- 1:17:47SPEAKER_00: My son was bunked.
- 1:17:49SPEAKER_00: I mean, I sent you pictures of my son's dorm room.
- 1:17:50SPEAKER_00: It was small.
- 1:17:52SPEAKER_01: No, she's got like a proper kitchen.
- 1:17:56SPEAKER_01: There's a living room.
- 1:17:57SPEAKER_00: She has a toilet, y'all.
- 1:17:59SPEAKER_01: Yep.
- 1:17:59SPEAKER_01: In the room.
- 1:18:00SPEAKER_01: She's got her own.
- 1:18:01SPEAKER_01: She's got a bedroom.
- 1:18:03SPEAKER_01: It's a two-person bedroom, but she's got like a bathroom with a shower and everything.
- 1:18:07SPEAKER_01: So it's great.
- 1:18:08SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:18:09SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I love that for her because really,
- 1:18:11SPEAKER_00: I mean, I remember Aiden's first year, he was like, Mom, these people are so gross.
- 1:18:17SPEAKER_00: I was like, yeah, buddy, I'm so sorry.
- 1:18:20SPEAKER_00: And I knew it because I used the,
- 1:18:22SPEAKER_00: you know,
- 1:18:22SPEAKER_00: I would go to his dorm,
- 1:18:24SPEAKER_00: I would visit him, and I would use like the women's bathroom there.
- 1:18:27SPEAKER_00: And I was like, ugh.
- 1:18:29SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 1:18:29SPEAKER_01: So you can only imagine what the, you know, what the men's was like.
- 1:18:32SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 1:18:33SPEAKER_00: It's so funny though,
- 1:18:34SPEAKER_00: because Lila was so,
- 1:18:36SPEAKER_00: you know,
- 1:18:36SPEAKER_00: she was so sad or whatever,
- 1:18:37SPEAKER_00: when she left, you know, when I sent Aiden to pre-K, I have a picture of him.
- 1:18:42SPEAKER_00: He was literally like, bye, like pre-K, bye, mom and left.
- 1:18:49SPEAKER_00: And I was like, isn't he going to cry?
- 1:18:54SPEAKER_00: Look at all these other kids.
- 1:18:55SPEAKER_00: They're crying.
- 1:18:55SPEAKER_00: Mine's not crying.
- 1:18:56SPEAKER_00: And when we dropped him off at college, he was like, all right, bye.
- 1:19:00SPEAKER_00: I was like, isn't he going to cry?
- 1:19:03SPEAKER_00: I just joked it was like the same as pre-K, you know, in pre-K as it was in college.
- 1:19:09SPEAKER_00: Like, here I am.
- 1:19:10SPEAKER_00: Like, hey.
- 1:19:12SPEAKER_01: Jordan cried when he first got on the bus to go to school.
- 1:19:16SPEAKER_01: Anastasia was just like, wait, other kids.
- 1:19:19SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that's how
- 1:19:20SPEAKER_00: he was too.
- 1:19:22SPEAKER_00: Nathan, he wasn't upset like the first day of pre-K, but like as it went on, then he was upset.
- 1:19:28SPEAKER_00: But Aiden has always just been my independent kid who's just like, yes, see ya.
- 1:19:34SPEAKER_01: We'll see.
- 1:19:34SPEAKER_00: And I mean, it's good because you raise your kids to be adults, right?
- 1:19:38SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 1:19:38SPEAKER_00: And they're adults.
- 1:19:40SPEAKER_00: Oh, TV just said the same thing.
- 1:19:42SPEAKER_00: We raise them to be adults.
- 1:19:43SPEAKER_00: I always look at it that way.
- 1:19:44SPEAKER_00: I'm not raising a child.
- 1:19:45SPEAKER_00: I'm raising an adult.
- 1:19:46SPEAKER_00: But I'm so sorry.
- 1:19:47SPEAKER_00: She'll be okay.
- 1:19:48SPEAKER_00: You'll be okay.
- 1:19:49SPEAKER_00: She'll be okay.
- 1:19:51SPEAKER_01: I'm resisting the urge to text her every hour.
- 1:19:54SPEAKER_01: Just need to hear from her once or twice a day just to know that she's okay.
- 1:19:59SPEAKER_00: It's rougher for you, too, because you're right, because she's not technically your kid.
- 1:20:05SPEAKER_00: You can't force her to put Life360 on her phone.
- 1:20:09SPEAKER_01: And we don't talk on the phone.
- 1:20:10SPEAKER_01: That's not something we do.
- 1:20:12SPEAKER_01: We've never talked on the phone because she's always lived next door.
- 1:20:16SPEAKER_01: So talking on the phone is not a thing we do.
- 1:20:19SPEAKER_00: But with Anastasia,
- 1:20:20SPEAKER_00: when she goes to college,
- 1:20:21SPEAKER_00: as soon as Anastasia starts driving, I'm telling you, Life360...
- 1:20:25SPEAKER_01: Yeah, no, we're definitely going to do that.
- 1:20:27SPEAKER_00: Because you know how easy it is for me?
- 1:20:29SPEAKER_00: I got an alert just really quickly before we end the show.
- 1:20:31SPEAKER_00: I got an alert last week and it said,
- 1:20:35SPEAKER_00: usually you get an alert with Life360 in the middle of the night
- 1:20:38SPEAKER_00: and it's like your kid's phone is dying.
- 1:20:40SPEAKER_00: But I got an alert and it said Aiden has arrived home and it was one o'clock in the morning.
- 1:20:44SPEAKER_00: I was like, where the fuck has my kid been at one o'clock in the morning?
- 1:20:48SPEAKER_00: Doesn't he know that he has a curfew?
- 1:20:52SPEAKER_00: And he had gone out to a bar with his friends and now my son doesn't drink.
- 1:20:55SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 1:20:56SPEAKER_00: Like parents say that, but like my kid literally actually doesn't drink.
- 1:20:59SPEAKER_00: He thinks that it's poisoning your body.
- 1:21:01SPEAKER_00: He's like one of those people.
- 1:21:02SPEAKER_01: I was like, why would you go to a bar?
- 1:21:04SPEAKER_01: You don't drink.
- 1:21:05SPEAKER_01: Someone's got to drive.
- 1:21:07SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 1:21:07SPEAKER_00: And his friends were drinking and they taught him how to play pool.
- 1:21:10SPEAKER_00: So like nice, wholesome fun, I guess.
- 1:21:12SPEAKER_00: But yeah, life 360, man.
- 1:21:14SPEAKER_01: All right, that is it for today's show.

- 1:22:11Haha.
- 1:22:13SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 1:22:14SPEAKER_01: There are 74 days left until the most important midterm elections
- 1:22:17SPEAKER_01: in American history, and that time will fly by faster than you can possibly imagine.
- 1:22:21SPEAKER_01: The regime is still frantically begging the Supreme Court to rig the midterms
- 1:22:26SPEAKER_01: because they are fucking weak.
- 1:22:28SPEAKER_01: In November, we will show them just how weak they are.
- 1:22:31SPEAKER_01: Remember, you are never alone.
- 1:22:34SPEAKER_01: Stay strong.
- 1:22:35SPEAKER_01: We beat the fascists once and we will fucking do it again.
- 1:22:38SPEAKER_01: Adios.
- 1:22:38SPEAKER_00: Adios.
- 1:22:39SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 1:22:40SPEAKER_01: We will see you guys next week.
- 1:22:41SPEAKER_00: Thanks, TeeRee.
- 1:22:42SPEAKER_00: We appreciate that.
- 1:22:44SPEAKER_00: Yep.
- 1:22:44SPEAKER_00: Thank you, guys.
- 1:22:45SPEAKER_00: Bye.
- 1:22:46SPEAKER_00: Bye, guys.
