- 0:53Speaker 3: dollars for one pair of shoes. The clerk nods yes,
- 0:58Speaker 3: but they're handmade in Italy, all leather, limited edition. The
- 1:03Speaker 3: woman pauses, thinks for a moment, and says, well, they
- 1:07Speaker 3: do look like the kind of shoes that would walk

- 1:50Speaker 3: your whole day. I'm your host, Joe Wattis, and today
- 1:55Speaker 3: we're diving into something many of us wrestle with quietly,
- 1:59Speaker 3: self worth. Your Self worth isn't based on your job title,
- 2:04Speaker 3: your relationship status, your bank account, or your productivity. It
- 2:09Speaker 3: is not something that you earn. It's something you remember.
- 2:15Speaker 3: You are enough, not because of what you've done, but
- 2:20Speaker 3: because simply of who you are. But first, before we
- 2:25Speaker 3: get into all of that, it's time for our trivia
- 2:28Speaker 3: question of the day. Are you ready for it? Here
- 2:31Speaker 3: it is which psychologist is most famously associated with the
- 2:37Speaker 3: hierarchy of needs, which includes self esteem as a part
- 2:42Speaker 3: of human motivation. Think it over, we'll have the answer
- 2:47Speaker 3: when we come back. Are you looking for your next

- 4:15Speaker 3: listening and happy reading. Welcome back. Do you know the
- 4:25Speaker 3: answer to this week's trivia question? The question was which
- 4:29Speaker 3: psychologist is most famously associated with the hierarchy of needs,
- 4:35Speaker 3: which include self esteem as a key part of human motivation.
- 4:40Speaker 3: The answer Abraham Maslow. Maslow's hierarchy of needs is often
- 4:47Speaker 3: shown as a pyramid. At the base are things like
- 4:51Speaker 3: food and safety. Higher up are things like love, belonging,
- 4:55Speaker 3: and self esteem. The need to feel valued and confid
- 5:00Speaker 3: evident in who we are and at the very top
- 5:05Speaker 3: self actualization, the ability to become your fullest self. But
- 5:11Speaker 3: here's the truth. You don't have to be at the
- 5:13Speaker 3: top of the pyramid to have worth. Your value isn't
- 5:17Speaker 3: something that increases as you climb. It's there from the start,
- 5:22Speaker 3: based on who you are. Let's talk about what happens
- 5:33Speaker 3: when you remember your worth. When you believe you matter
- 5:37Speaker 3: truly deeply, you stop chasing external validation, You stop tolerating
- 5:44Speaker 3: what drains you. You stop apologizing for taking up space.
- 5:50Speaker 3: You also stop trying and tying your value to how
- 5:55Speaker 3: productive you are, how many likes you get, or whether
- 5:59Speaker 3: someone else approves of your choices. That's not arrogance, that's alignment.
- 6:06Speaker 3: And here's the important thing. Self worth doesn't mean you
- 6:11Speaker 3: think you're perfect. It means you know you are worthy,
- 6:16Speaker 3: even with your flaws, even when you mess up, even
- 6:21Speaker 3: when you fall short, even when you don't feel like
- 6:27Speaker 3: you matter, even when you're still learning. And the more
- 6:33Speaker 3: you believe that, the more positive your relationships become, the
- 6:37Speaker 3: stronger your boundaries get, the kinder your inner voice becomes.
- 6:42Speaker 3: Because self worth is the root from which so many
- 6:46Speaker 3: other good things grow. Let me end this week's podcast
- 7:03Speaker 3: with a quote by Brene Brown. You are imperfect, You
- 7:08Speaker 3: are wired for struggle, but you are worthy of love
- 7:13Speaker 3: and belonging right now, just as you are. You are enough,
- 7:20Speaker 3: not once you lose ten pounds, not once you make
- 7:24Speaker 3: enough money, not once you fix everything, now today, already.
- 7:34Speaker 3: So here is your gentle reminder. You don't have to
- 7:38Speaker 3: prove your worth, you just have to stop forgetting it.
- 7:44Speaker 3: Thanks for joining me on Positively three sixty five. Hold
- 7:48Speaker 3: your head high, speak kindly to yourself, and as always,
