Latest / Inside the Birds: A Philadelphia Eagles Podcast / ITB: After Sudden Cam Jurgens Trade, What Now For Eagles In 2026?
Transcript
- 0:09Speaker 1: Inside the Birds is back. What's going on, everybody? It's
- 0:14Speaker 1: Jeff Mosher. It's Adam Kaplan.
- 0:16Speaker 2: Man, we are approaching this Week 5 game between the
- 0:21Speaker 2: Eagles and the Jaguars in London, Adam. And just going
- 0:23Speaker 2: to London and playing the Jags tends to be like
- 0:26Speaker 2: an animal in itself when there's an international game. But
- 0:29Speaker 2: buckle up, man. What a week it has been for
- 0:31Speaker 2: the Philadelphia Eagles. And we're only in the middle of it,
- 0:34Speaker 2: but Lane Johnson... with the sudden retirement. And then a
- 0:37Speaker 2: day later, Adam, Cam Juergens. The Eagles trade Cam Juergens
- 0:42Speaker 2: to the Ravens for draft picks, including a second-round pick.
- 0:47Speaker 1: We'll get into all that in this podcast. We'll talk
- 0:49Speaker 1: about that.
- 0:50Speaker 2: We'll still talk about the fallout from what they're going
- 0:52Speaker 2: to do without Lane Johnson going forward. And then, of course,
- 0:55Speaker 2: some pop-up injuries that we constantly talk about with this
- 0:59Speaker 2: team throughout the week. But, man, the Cam Juergens thing,
- 1:03Speaker 2: just very– The timing, Adam, just completely kind.
- 1:08Speaker 1: Of out of nowhere, right?
- 1:10Speaker 2: And then the impact of that, along with Lane, is
- 1:14Speaker 2: going to be felt for this offensive line.
- 1:15Speaker 1: There's no question about that.
- 1:16Speaker 3: Yeah, the urgency that the Ravens had got this trade done.
- 1:20Speaker 3: I mean, they overpaid. It's a massive overpay.
- 1:22Speaker 1: Yep.
- 1:24Speaker 3: From a positive standpoint. And I'm sure Eric Dacosta was
- 1:28Speaker 3: good friends with Howie Roseman. I'm sure he felt that.
- 1:31Speaker 3: the tape that he saw was not reflective of Cam
- 1:34Speaker 3: at center because he's playing left guard now.
- 1:36Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:36Speaker 3: So he knows he's a natural center. That's what he's
- 1:38Speaker 3: going to play for Baltimore. They're not down one. They're
- 1:40Speaker 3: not down two. They're down three centers, technically. And Vega Ioni,
- 1:44Speaker 3: who's not a center, had to do it as emergency fill-in.
- 1:48Speaker 3: So they had to do something. And it's similar. It's
- 1:52Speaker 3: kind of like when Howie traded Bradford to the Vikings
- 1:57Speaker 3: because they were desperate. They had to do it. Like
- 2:01Speaker 3: when they lost Teddy Bridgewater was hugging up to the season.
- 2:05Speaker 3: They had to do, they had to get a quarterback,
- 2:06Speaker 3: a starting quarterback. Okay. And they were like, that's, that
- 2:11Speaker 3: was going to happen as much as Bradford was not
- 2:13Speaker 3: happy about what was going on. Hey, he went somewhere
- 2:15Speaker 3: he could start and how he had leverage. Well, how
- 2:18Speaker 3: he leveraged in this situation.
- 2:20Speaker 1: It's funny. Cause I thought of a similar trade.
- 2:21Speaker 2: I thought of a trade with the Eagles that was
- 2:24Speaker 2: similar in the, You overpaid because you– and I thought
- 2:28Speaker 2: the third rounder for Jahan Dotson was– that was the
- 2:32Speaker 2: one that came to mind where you completely overpaid just
- 2:35Speaker 2: to make sure you have a player at a certain
- 2:37Speaker 2: position who's at least functional.
- 2:39Speaker 1: And you're right. The Ravens are a good team.
- 2:41Speaker 2: This will be– I still think this will be a
- 2:44Speaker 2: decent trade for them even though they overpaid because they
- 2:47Speaker 2: needed a.
- 2:47Speaker 1: Center so bad. And they're good.
- 2:48Speaker 2: They're doing really well with their new offense. And if
- 2:51Speaker 2: Cam Juergens is just like okay at center, they'll be
- 2:54Speaker 2: fine because that's what they were getting– To begin with,
- 2:56Speaker 2: you know, they lost Tyler.
- 2:57Speaker 1: Lindermann, right?
- 2:59Speaker 2: They're all pro center in free agency. And they were
- 3:01Speaker 2: trying to fill the hole with like a guy, I
- 3:03Speaker 2: forget the guy, the first guy's name. And then they
- 3:05Speaker 2: signed veteran Pochek, who's been around, not great. They just
- 3:08Speaker 2: need a functional player in that position.
- 3:11Speaker 3: Yeah, Javon Gwynn was the kid. In fact, I might
- 3:17Speaker 3: have been there. I might have been at Ravens camp
- 3:18Speaker 3: when Pochek got hurt. But Ethan Pochek has been a
- 3:22Speaker 3: starter in the league. He got hurt. And then Danny
- 3:24Speaker 3: Pinter is a guard center who they signed away from
- 3:28Speaker 3: the Colts. He got hurt. So you can't go forward. Like,
- 3:32Speaker 3: they just had to do it. And Howie smartly made
- 3:35Speaker 3: Eric pay. I mean, the Eagles got a 28-2 to
- 3:39Speaker 3: get the trade done. Howie couldn't get a 27. He
- 3:42Speaker 3: got a 28. But he got a 27-5. And they
- 3:46Speaker 3: gave up a conditional seventh-round pick. And the pick is
- 3:49Speaker 3: from Dallas.
- 3:52Speaker 1: And.
- 3:52Speaker 3: and they gave up Juergens, who now the question for
- 3:54Speaker 3: Juergens is, is it just because he was not comfortable
- 3:58Speaker 3: at left guard where he was late with his hands,
- 4:00Speaker 3: late with his footwork, which made him look like he
- 4:02Speaker 3: was not very good? Yeah. Or is it that he's
- 4:06Speaker 3: had a physical decline, particularly on the lower body? Well,
- 4:10Speaker 3: it doesn't matter to the Eagles anymore, but it does,
- 4:12Speaker 3: although Howie got great value, it sets up a major
- 4:16Speaker 3: hole for this football team on the offensive line in
- 4:18Speaker 3: terms of depth, proven talent, Sure. Look, the time with
- 4:24Speaker 3: Lane's retirement, sudden retirement, and this trade, I mean, it
- 4:30Speaker 3: puts them in a major bind. Now, they're going to
- 4:32Speaker 3: get a good look at some younger players, but that's
- 4:34Speaker 3: not really what you want to do. You like to
- 4:36Speaker 3: do it in the preseason, not the regular season. That's
- 4:38Speaker 3: where they're at.
- 4:39Speaker 2: Yeah, I think you're hitting this on the head, and
- 4:41Speaker 2: I've seen some kind of opinion out there that, I
- 4:45Speaker 2: think people are correlating something that shouldn't be correlated.
- 4:48Speaker 1: You know, this was not a fire sale. That is correct. Oh, yeah.
- 4:52Speaker 1: A fire sale is where you're just giving players away
- 4:54Speaker 1: and you're trying to restart over.
- 4:55Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 4:56Speaker 2: And from what I understand, just talking to some other teams,
- 4:58Speaker 2: it's not like everybody in the NFL knew Cam Juergens
- 5:01Speaker 2: was available. This was a situation that you just laid
- 5:04Speaker 2: out where the Ravens needed a center. They called Howie.
- 5:07Speaker 2: They were willing to overpay. Howie's got a struggling player.
- 5:10Speaker 2: I mean, if Cam Juergens was playing at a really
- 5:12Speaker 2: high level, this trade probably doesn't go down even for him.
- 5:14Speaker 1: The second pick.
- 5:15Speaker 2: But Cam has been a struggling player, playing out of position,
- 5:18Speaker 2: coming off the injury. They will get a chance to
- 5:21Speaker 2: save some money in the future by moving him. But
- 5:24Speaker 2: this was not a case where Howie's tearing it down
- 5:28Speaker 2: just because it happened one day.
- 5:29Speaker 1: After the Lane Johnson announces retirement.
- 5:32Speaker 2: However, when people say this was not a fire sale,
- 5:36Speaker 2: so the Eagles aren't punting, that doesn't mean the Eagles
- 5:38Speaker 2: are punting on this year.
- 5:40Speaker 1: Okay, I agree with you. It doesn't mean they are,
- 5:42Speaker 1: but this is not a this is.
- 5:44Speaker 2: Unfortunately what I've seen and I should get off social
- 5:47Speaker 2: media as soon as I see this stuff, but this
- 5:49Speaker 2: is not a situation where the Eagles are actually improving
- 5:53Speaker 2: for the short term either. So they may be not hunting,
- 5:56Speaker 2: but this is not, you just laid it out. This is,
- 5:58Speaker 2: you are going to go into London struggling two games,
- 6:02Speaker 2: losing streak, And you are just about 24 game weeks
- 6:05Speaker 2: removed from your greatest offensive line in your history. And
- 6:08Speaker 2: now you're only going to have one of those five guys,
- 6:11Speaker 2: Jordan Mailata. Everybody else on the line is completely new
- 6:14Speaker 2: from the 2024. Or maybe, no, you have Steen.
- 6:17Speaker 1: I'm sorry.
- 6:17Speaker 2: So three-fifths of your offensive line is going to be
- 6:21Speaker 2: entirely new. Was Steen the right guard when they won
- 6:23Speaker 2: it two years ago?
- 6:24Speaker 1: Or was he still? I can't even. No, Becton was.
- 6:26Speaker 3: My bad.
- 6:27Speaker 2: Four-fifths of the offensive line on Sunday morning when everybody's
- 6:32Speaker 2: watching that game in London. is going to be completely
- 6:34Speaker 2: new from the Super Bowl team. That is not optimal
- 6:37Speaker 2: for this team that's trying to pick up the pieces.
- 6:39Speaker 3: Think about it. Willie Lampkin was an undrafted free agent,
- 6:41Speaker 3: sort of a phenomenon. I know there's an online– there's
- 6:46Speaker 3: a certain part of Eagles Twitter that's absolutely enamored with him.
- 6:49Speaker 3: We've outlined this for months now. The Eagles front office
- 6:52Speaker 3: loves Willie Lampkin. But Greg Cosell told our Patreon group–
- 6:55Speaker 3: I hadn't even thought of this until he brought it up.
- 6:57Speaker 3: I brought it up. We didn't know Jurgens was going
- 6:59Speaker 3: to be traded. But I said, hey, Lampkin's going to
- 7:01Speaker 3: start one way or the other. That's going to happen.
- 7:04Speaker 3: particularly if Cam keeps playing this poorly, you got to
- 7:07Speaker 3: do what you got to do. And Greg goes, Oh,
- 7:09Speaker 3: that'll be really nice. Eric Armstead is six foot seven.
- 7:11Speaker 3: We'll go against Willie Lampkin. It's five, 10 and three quarters.
- 7:14Speaker 3: So you're talking about like 10 inches of height and let,
- 7:17Speaker 3: Oh my God, the arm length ridiculous. Right. That'll happen.
- 7:20Speaker 3: Now you and I kind of debated this, but we didn't,
- 7:24Speaker 3: we didn't know the straight was going to happen. If I,
- 7:28Speaker 3: I just can't see them moving Kendall, making another move,
- 7:31Speaker 3: moving Kendall left guard. It should be Lampkin at left guard. OK,
- 7:34Speaker 3: that's the way it should be. He said he could
- 7:36Speaker 3: play both. Kendall is not a natural guard. That's a
- 7:39Speaker 3: power position. That's the way it's explained to me. Kendall
- 7:42Speaker 3: is is futures at center. In fact, that's what this
- 7:45Speaker 3: is going to be about the rest of the season.
- 7:47Speaker 3: It should be Kenny B. Can's replacement. They didn't know
- 7:50Speaker 3: it'd be this way. You know, they thought maybe, OK,
- 7:53Speaker 3: maybe next year. But that was then and this is
- 7:56Speaker 3: now like they have this has to they got to
- 7:58Speaker 3: get a good look. And then Markel Bell with Lane's
- 8:01Speaker 3: sudden retirement. Again, something we didn't know a week ago.
- 8:05Speaker 3: Howie Roseman didn't know this. Lane was going to tell
- 8:07Speaker 3: him that he didn't want to play on Sunday. Couldn't
- 8:10Speaker 3: do it. And he retired. So Markel Bell, who I
- 8:14Speaker 3: had an offensive line coach tell me who really likes Markel,
- 8:17Speaker 3: this would have been a redshirt year for him. He
- 8:19Speaker 3: thought he needed to grow into his long body and
- 8:21Speaker 3: he needed to reconfigure it. He's got a great attitude,
- 8:25Speaker 3: wants it badly, this coach said. He's a very impressive
- 8:28Speaker 3: young guy. But This is just a third-round rookie who's
- 8:33Speaker 3: going to have to work his way through it. Did
- 8:34Speaker 3: a decent job last week. Lampkin, undrafted free agent, and Kendall, fifth-rounder.
- 8:39Speaker 3: This is not the way the Eagles do business, but yes,
- 8:41Speaker 3: circumstances have changed it. They made the decision on Juergens. Lampkin,
- 8:46Speaker 3: it's not what they planned for him to start this early,
- 8:48Speaker 3: but it is what it is. Then, Andrew DiCecco's subject
- 8:54Speaker 3: of the Rookie Diary, Micah Morris, now, for now... I
- 8:58Speaker 3: guess the top backup guard, they don't have anybody else.
- 9:00Speaker 1: No, no.
- 9:01Speaker 2: And, and, and even the guys they have on the,
- 9:03Speaker 2: who do they have on the practice squad?
- 9:05Speaker 1: They have tackles on the practice squad, right?
- 9:07Speaker 3: Yeah. Let's get to that. So John Ojukwu, Ojukwu could
- 9:10Speaker 3: play guard, excuse me, right or left tackle, limited guard experience. Right. Yeah.
- 9:14Speaker 3: He can do it. That's it.
- 9:16Speaker 1: He did cross train there, by the way, this summer.
- 9:18Speaker 1: I mean, we're going to use that word ad nausea, please.
- 9:20Speaker 2: When we say cross train, It don't mean that this
- 9:23Speaker 2: guy can definitely play the position.
- 9:25Speaker 1: It just means the Eagles are trying to see if
- 9:26Speaker 1: he could.
- 9:27Speaker 3: Okay. They've literally crossed straight. See, that's the thing. If
- 9:29Speaker 3: the Eagles make a trade, I would bet if they
- 9:32Speaker 3: want to make the trade for Lyman or signing someone, eventually,
- 9:36Speaker 3: they're going to want someone who could play at least
- 9:38Speaker 3: two positions. I would bet.
- 9:40Speaker 4: Yes.
- 9:41Speaker 3: You have to. They're in a crisis situation. Now, Joku
- 9:45Speaker 3: actually did some decent stuff for the Titans. He had
- 9:47Speaker 3: a couple starts at right tackle. He's a natural tackle.
- 9:50Speaker 3: And then Amadji is the left tackle from Yale who
- 9:54Speaker 3: was drafted by the bears. He's a project. So they're
- 9:57Speaker 3: in a crisis, of the offensive line man this is
- 9:59Speaker 3: uh you're going against not only one of the best
- 10:02Speaker 3: defenses in national football you're going against perhaps they I
- 10:05Speaker 3: was telling our patreon group on Wednesday night by the
- 10:07Speaker 3: way what a sellout crowd we had I it was
- 10:10Speaker 3: like I could have used you in there I had
- 10:12Speaker 3: no idea how many people it was crazy it was
- 10:14Speaker 3: like a standing room only it was great it was
- 10:15Speaker 3: awesome time that's awesome great uh I was saying to
- 10:19Speaker 3: this group last night, the Jaguars are my number one team.
- 10:23Speaker 3: If I was doing power rankings, they would be one.
- 10:27Speaker 3: They're one.
- 10:28Speaker 1: That's interesting. I've been thinking about that lately.
- 10:29Speaker 2: Yeah, they're definitely– they're very, very good.
- 10:32Speaker 3: They play one shaking. Yeah. Against Denver. Yep.
- 10:36Speaker 2: Yeah, so the Eagles also did add, I believe, a
- 10:40Speaker 2: practice squad guy from Miami, a center who played for
- 10:43Speaker 2: the Hurricanes.
- 10:43Speaker 3: Yeah, Ackermeyer, right. They also have Jake Majors, who's definitely
- 10:47Speaker 3: not a guard. He's too small.
- 10:49Speaker 1: They're just stockpiling centers. It's amazing.
- 10:52Speaker 3: I don't know. You have Ackermeyer, yeah. Oh, and Eric
- 10:55Speaker 3: Esakama's back, who was a former Dolphins receiver who the
- 11:00Speaker 3: Eagles had in training camp. And Ackermeyer was an undrafted
- 11:03Speaker 3: free agent out of the University of Miami. Or actually,
- 11:06Speaker 3: I don't know which one. Actually, no, it might be Miami, Ohio.
- 11:09Speaker 3: It might be Miami, Ohio. I don't know.
- 11:10Speaker 1: Oh, is that Miami?
- 11:11Speaker 3: Oh, okay.
- 11:11Speaker 1: I thought it was University of Miami.
- 11:13Speaker 3: But he's a little bit older. He's an undrafted rookie.
- 11:15Speaker 3: He's 24 years old. Yeah, you're right. I don't understand
- 11:18Speaker 3: the facet. You know what? Maybe they're going to cross-train McGard.
- 11:21Speaker 3: Why wouldn't you?
- 11:22Speaker 1: Of course, they're going to do because they do that.
- 11:24Speaker 1: That's sort of SO. What's the standard operating procedure right now? SOP. Yeah, SOP.
- 11:31Speaker 1: So I'll just give you my viewpoint on it. I
- 11:37Speaker 1: struggle to see.
- 11:38Speaker 2: I thought Willie Lampkin was awesome in the preseason, and
- 11:41Speaker 2: he's a great story. I think we already made the
- 11:43Speaker 2: point of there's a difference between being a really good
- 11:46Speaker 2: story of an undrafted kid who's very undersized, who makes
- 11:50Speaker 2: it onto an NFL 53, and then becoming a good
- 11:53Speaker 2: enough person to play week after week, like a starter.
- 11:57Speaker 1: I struggle to see how.
- 11:58Speaker 2: Him at his size can be more of a power
- 12:01Speaker 2: player at guard than Kendall, who's a bigger guy, but
- 12:06Speaker 2: I don't think either of them are what you would
- 12:08Speaker 2: consider a strong power player. I did think that Lampkin
- 12:13Speaker 2: had a good base and fundamentally knows how to use
- 12:16Speaker 2: his legs. He uses his leverage really well, and that
- 12:19Speaker 2: can compensate at times for raw strength. But to what
- 12:24Speaker 2: you just said, when you're in there every single snap,
- 12:27Speaker 2: week after week or for however long until Dickerson can
- 12:30Speaker 2: come back, if he does, and you're going up against
- 12:33Speaker 2: a very good defense, and a guy like Anthony Campanile
- 12:35Speaker 2: who's going to just crowd the line of scrimmage.
- 12:39Speaker 1: To expect this guy to just go into left.
- 12:42Speaker 2: Guard, a position that is not his own natural position,
- 12:46Speaker 2: and do well or make things better, because I've seen
- 12:50Speaker 2: people already texting me, well, Juergens was like the 78th
- 12:53Speaker 2: guard out of the 79, so he stinks, so he
- 12:55Speaker 2: can't get worse.
- 12:55Speaker 1: Guys, get these PFF ratings out of your freaking minds.
- 12:59Speaker 1: It doesn't matter. He was playing poorly. He was out
- 13:01Speaker 1: of position.
- 13:02Speaker 2: The first game he played at center, he had a
- 13:05Speaker 2: couple penalties, but he wasn't nearly as atrocious as he
- 13:07Speaker 2: was at left guard.
- 13:09Speaker 1: And then secondly, I don't know.
- 13:11Speaker 2: There's just too much stuff on the internet about like
- 13:13Speaker 2: 15 to 30 plays that Cam Juergens hurt.
- 13:15Speaker 1: No, no, no.
- 13:17Speaker 2: Cam Juergens is not responsible for like the war across
- 13:20Speaker 2: the seas and the economy and gas prices. Like this
- 13:25Speaker 2: guy gave up his body and broke his back, right,
- 13:29Speaker 2: so that this team could win a Super Bowl. And
- 13:31Speaker 2: some of the things I've seen on his way out
- 13:33Speaker 2: were that people were saying about him were just classless.
- 13:36Speaker 3: To be honest. You mean there's a lack of maturity
- 13:40Speaker 3: on anti-social media?
- 13:41Speaker 1: I know. I should get off. I know. I got
- 13:42Speaker 1: to get off. And I know that's not like the maturity.
- 13:45Speaker 1: I don't respond to anything.
- 13:46Speaker 3: I mute literally 50 people a week. I should.
- 13:49Speaker 1: I should.
- 13:50Speaker 3: I love when they tag me. This is my favorite thing.
- 13:53Speaker 3: Going back when we all used to answer questions 15
- 13:56Speaker 3: years ago, which nobody does anymore. They don't answer them.
- 13:58Speaker 3: I get it. All right. people were disrespectful. They tagged
- 14:02Speaker 3: me and like eight people and they just want anyone
- 14:04Speaker 3: to answer. It's like me, Obama, like has a Twitter,
- 14:10Speaker 3: like it's just ridiculous. It's so funny. And I get
- 14:12Speaker 3: a kick out of it. I'm like, fine. Like some
- 14:15Speaker 3: retired reporter. It's so great. I, I know they want it.
- 14:18Speaker 3: That's what we have paid you on board folks.
- 14:20Speaker 2: But anyway, yeah, it's funny. There used to be a joke,
- 14:24Speaker 2: like a running joke. And sometimes you mentioned Obama. So again,
- 14:27Speaker 2: in my head, like whenever something was wrong with the world,
- 14:30Speaker 2: Like somebody would sarcastically go, thanks, Obama.
- 14:33Speaker 1: So now it's, thanks, Juergens. Like, you know, the offense
- 14:37Speaker 1: or the defense gives up a 50-yard pass. Thanks, Juergens. No,
- 14:41Speaker 1: he was playing badly, of course. We know that. But
- 14:44Speaker 1: this is not a great situation for the Eagles going forward.
- 14:48Speaker 2: Even though it's not a fire sale, this is way
- 14:50Speaker 2: more of a long-term gain for the Eagles getting a
- 14:53Speaker 2: second-round pick than it is a short-term game.
- 14:56Speaker 1: And unfortunately, 2026, we're still in it. And even though
- 15:00Speaker 1: the Eagles aren't punting.
- 15:01Speaker 3: It's only four games. I know.
- 15:02Speaker 2: We're only four weeks into it, and it's not great
- 15:05Speaker 2: when you have this.
- 15:06Speaker 1: Look at, to your point about Markel Bell. I think
- 15:08Speaker 1: he's got a chance to be a pretty good player.
- 15:10Speaker 2: He's big. He's got a chance to really improve, right?
- 15:14Speaker 2: But first game, look at how they overloaded Blitz's stated side.
- 15:18Speaker 1: Look at how confused he was. Look at how tentative
- 15:21Speaker 1: at times he was.
- 15:21Speaker 3: But at least he's seen it now.
- 15:22Speaker 1: Right, but he's seen it now.
- 15:23Speaker 2: But I'm saying he's seen it in a game that
- 15:25Speaker 2: the Eagles got their asses kicked. And so I don't
- 15:28Speaker 2: go into London with Willie Lampkin here at left guard thinking, oh,
- 15:31Speaker 2: this is a better situation for the Eagles.
- 15:32Speaker 1: It is not.
- 15:33Speaker 3: Well, yes, their line did not play well. Their pass protection,
- 15:37Speaker 3: as we outlined inside the tape with Greg Cosell, the
- 15:39Speaker 3: offensive edition was bad, but they still hung in there.
- 15:43Speaker 3: Now I know it was an odd game with rain
- 15:44Speaker 3: that had the slickness. There was a lot of extraneous
- 15:48Speaker 3: factors for this game, but you nailed it when Bell
- 15:52Speaker 3: got the experience. That was major. Okay. Now, I know
- 15:56Speaker 3: we didn't mention it, and yes, there's the outside chance
- 15:58Speaker 3: that Fred Johnson starts over when he's healthy enough. I
- 16:01Speaker 3: don't see it.
- 16:02Speaker 1: I just don't see it. I know I said that
- 16:04Speaker 1: last pod, but I'm like, that doesn't make sense.
- 16:06Speaker 3: No. They're definitely not playing for next year. But within that,
- 16:13Speaker 3: trying to win the division, they're going to want to
- 16:16Speaker 3: get a good book on Kendall, which they have. He's
- 16:19Speaker 3: done a decent job. He really has. They have to
- 16:24Speaker 3: find out. Absolutely have to find out if Bell's Lane's
- 16:26Speaker 3: replacement long-term. Got to do that. Fred Johnson is not it.
- 16:29Speaker 3: He's a journeyman, backup left-right tackle. He got exposed. He
- 16:34Speaker 3: did a good job early. The longer he played, the
- 16:37Speaker 3: more it became an issue. That's why they're called backups.
- 16:39Speaker 3: Backups become backups, as you're saying, with offensive line coaches.
- 16:43Speaker 3: The more we play them. They could look good for
- 16:45Speaker 3: a couple games. They're like, whoa. But on the reverse
- 16:48Speaker 3: of that, which is interesting, sometimes guys just need experience.
- 16:51Speaker 3: Remember how bad big V was to start his career.
- 16:54Speaker 3: Terrible against Washington. And he stacked, stacked and stacked experience.
- 16:58Speaker 3: Then it became solid. And he signed a 10 million
- 17:01Speaker 3: a year deal with the Lions because of it, because
- 17:03Speaker 3: he did a really good job. So just tagging in there, folks.
- 17:07Speaker 3: The good thing about Sunday's game is it's going to
- 17:09Speaker 3: end at 1230 Eastern around there. And if it's bad,
- 17:11Speaker 3: you could just move on for your day, get some
- 17:13Speaker 3: chores done. Then you can watch the one o'clock games. Okay.
- 17:15Speaker 1: I was trying to count a few beers after that.
- 17:18Speaker 3: Right.
- 17:18Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 17:19Speaker 3: Yeah, exactly.
- 17:20Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 17:20Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 17:20Speaker 2: Right.
- 17:20Speaker 3: It's a long day. And then the, People out in L.A.
- 17:23Speaker 3: are watching this thing. Yeah. I mean, they're starting at 6.30 a.m.
- 17:25Speaker 1: I didn't think about that. That's like 6.30 a.m.
- 17:27Speaker 3: Crazy. Man, I'm up at 5.30 every day, so I
- 17:32Speaker 3: love it. I know a lot of people don't like
- 17:33Speaker 3: it at 9.30. I love 9.30 football.
- 17:36Speaker 1: I like it. Yeah, I'm definitely down for it.

- 19:09Speaker 2: an issue with like your hot water heater bursting? I've
- 19:13Speaker 2: had that happen at least three times in my basement,
- 19:17Speaker 2: causing flooding, causing me to miss work, causing me to
- 19:20Speaker 2: deal with people in my house trying to tell me
- 19:22Speaker 2: how much I'm going to have to pay that I
- 19:24Speaker 2: have to replace. Then I got to do research on
- 19:27Speaker 2: what the best appliance is to replace with.
- 19:29Speaker 1: It is madness and can be very.
- 19:32Speaker 2: Very frustrating. But Housecall Pro helps home service businesses stay

- 20:36Speaker 2: Please support our show.
- 20:37Speaker 1: I don't know. We sent you. All right. So that
- 20:39Speaker 1: is the situation with Cam Juergens and left guard. And
- 20:41Speaker 1: I just, it's amazing. It never ceases to amaze me
- 20:44Speaker 1: how quickly things can change in the NFL.
- 20:46Speaker 3: I mean, I've never, this is insane.
- 20:48Speaker 2: Like back to that day, offensive line might've been the
- 20:50Speaker 2: greatest in franchise history and now it's reduced to one
- 20:53Speaker 2: fifth of it.
- 20:53Speaker 1: So it's crazy.
- 20:55Speaker 3: Two starters are lost for non-injury reasons.
- 21:00Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 21:02Speaker 3: But in 24 hours that you can't make it up. Like,
- 21:03Speaker 3: come on.
- 21:05Speaker 1: That's crazy.
- 21:06Speaker 3: It is crazy.
- 21:07Speaker 2: So, again, with Lane Johnson out, I agree with that.
- 21:12Speaker 2: I think Bell would be the way to go. So
- 21:14Speaker 2: you're going to have Bell, Steen, Kendall, Lampkin, Mailata from
- 21:20Speaker 2: right to left. The Jaguars will capitalize on that. They
- 21:24Speaker 2: will try to, at least to the best of their ability.
- 21:27Speaker 2: And the interesting thing is, I don't know if you saw,
- 21:29Speaker 2: Mailata's quote's in the locker room. But he was basically saying,
- 21:32Speaker 2: I never even thought about my own career mortality. Like when,
- 21:36Speaker 2: but now how can I not? I look and it's
- 21:38Speaker 2: my ninth year. I've been through a lot of wars.
- 21:41Speaker 2: Everybody's gone.
- 21:42Speaker 1: You know, he's like that meme of fresh Prince on
- 21:45Speaker 1: that last episode where he walks into the empty room
- 21:47Speaker 1: and he looks around and is like, where is everyone?
- 21:49Speaker 1: Will Smith's just looking around. Nobody's there.
- 21:51Speaker 2: Or John Travolta, even same thing, right? From Reservoir Dogs.
- 21:53Speaker 2: So that's Jordan Maialata right now. But I liked what
- 21:56Speaker 2: he said in that I don't have time to think
- 21:59Speaker 2: about that.
- 21:59Speaker 1: I got it. I have to be a leader of
- 22:01Speaker 1: an offensive line room.
- 22:02Speaker 3: So they need them. I mean, with Dixon on IR.
- 22:05Speaker 3: That's the thing. There's no lane for leadership.
- 22:09Speaker 1: Right.
- 22:09Speaker 3: Tyler Steen is a very quiet guy, from what I understand.
- 22:12Speaker 2: He's getting better, though.
- 22:14Speaker 1: He is.
- 22:15Speaker 3: He's not bad. It's just, it's a tough deal. Michael
- 22:20Speaker 3: Morris is there. You know, he's learning. It's just, this is,
- 22:23Speaker 3: it's very bizarre to me to look at this offensive line.
- 22:26Speaker 3: This is not the way that Howie's done business. But
- 22:27Speaker 3: I understand he chose on Juergens and he didn't choose
- 22:31Speaker 3: on Lane. Lane retired. Right. Uh, that's, that's another, that,
- 22:36Speaker 3: that's a, that his career is a great 30 for
- 22:39Speaker 3: 30 short on everything that's happened. Obviously in a hall
- 22:41Speaker 3: of fame type player, what he's, the challenges, obviously we,
- 22:45Speaker 3: we know about with a mental illness and he's, you know,
- 22:48Speaker 3: he's been very upfront about it. And, you know, the
- 22:51Speaker 3: senior ball situation, which I talked about on our show, you're,
- 22:53Speaker 3: you know, you, what you, what you learned about him
- 22:57Speaker 3: and for him to be that elite, it's just, it's
- 22:59Speaker 3: incredible really. Cause remember he was not an offensive line
- 23:01Speaker 3: by trade. He was a quarterback at one point. Mm-hmm.
- 23:04Speaker 3: you can't teach measurables and his desire to be elite
- 23:08Speaker 3: is really second to none i mean it meant so
- 23:11Speaker 3: much to him and so much so that i know
- 23:14Speaker 3: you've talked about it that it would actually eat him
- 23:16Speaker 3: up when he wasn't when when he didn't get the
- 23:18Speaker 3: credit when there was you know when there was grades
- 23:22Speaker 3: or ratings or stories about he wasn't great i know
- 23:25Speaker 3: i know for a fact he would take that stuff
- 23:26Speaker 3: personally oh yeah yeah he was pretty open about it
- 23:29Speaker 3: it would eat him up um But now he's free
- 23:32Speaker 3: and we wish him luck. I really hope, I would love, A,
- 23:36Speaker 3: if he did a season, a career-ending press conference like
- 23:39Speaker 3: Kelsey did. Kelsey's was awesome.
- 23:41Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 23:41Speaker 3: I mean, I would love for him to do a podcast.
- 23:44Speaker 1: Oh, like the one he did during the COVID? Right.
- 23:47Speaker 3: Well, but it shows that he wants to be in
- 23:49Speaker 3: the NBA.
- 23:49Speaker 1: Oh, he'd be a good analyst.
- 23:50Speaker 3: Yeah, when things calm down for him, I mean, we'll
- 23:52Speaker 3: see what happens. But it's going to be an adventure
- 23:54Speaker 3: with this offensive line. Dickerson, we'll see when he starts working.
- 23:57Speaker 3: He's not working yet.
- 23:58Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 23:59Speaker 3: But, It's going to be tough. And then the running game,
- 24:03Speaker 3: they have to find. I know it's hard with all
- 24:05Speaker 3: these backups playing on the offensive line. You've got to
- 24:09Speaker 3: have some semblance of a running game. And this is
- 24:11Speaker 3: where not having Stout here. If they had Stout here
- 24:15Speaker 3: to deal with all this crap, I would go, you
- 24:17Speaker 3: know what? If anyone could handle this ridiculous situation that
- 24:22Speaker 3: he's being handled, it would be he.
- 24:24Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 24:26Speaker 3: Not that he could totally handle it. This is ridiculous
- 24:28Speaker 3: what's going on right now.
- 24:30Speaker 2: Right.
- 24:30Speaker 3: Can't make it up. Can you imagine that Howie telling
- 24:34Speaker 3: Chris Cooper, hey, listen, I know this is not great.
- 24:37Speaker 3: It's not ideal, but we're going to trade Cam to Baltimore.
- 24:39Speaker 3: And what would your reaction be?
- 24:44Speaker 1: I'd be like, why do you hate me, Howie?
- 24:46Speaker 3: That's it.
- 24:47Speaker 1: You gave me one year.
- 24:48Speaker 2: I'm four weeks into my first year, just like how
- 24:51Speaker 2: many you might feel of it too. And you're just
- 24:53Speaker 2: taking guys away from me. And now I'm a toe stub,
- 24:57Speaker 2: an ankle twist, a hammy tweak away from– a rookie
- 25:01Speaker 2: six round pick being one of my starting interior linemen. And,
- 25:05Speaker 2: you know, now I'm down to, you know, Fred Johnson
- 25:07Speaker 2: may have to be a starting offensive lineman.
- 25:09Speaker 1: If I get an, if I get.
- 25:10Speaker 2: A tackle, if I get an injury that, I mean, we,
- 25:12Speaker 2: I always look at things. You're one injury away from what,
- 25:15Speaker 2: and for them it's, it's perilous.
- 25:17Speaker 3: That's how G that's how the front office always thinks
- 25:20Speaker 3: about it. Cause that with their depth chart, how is
- 25:22Speaker 3: a depth chart in his office as all GMs do. Okay.
- 25:25Speaker 3: This position, this position, this position. So the cross trading
- 25:27Speaker 3: is that stout started many years ago is, so imperative
- 25:31Speaker 3: to their success going forward. Whenever they're going to have success,
- 25:36Speaker 3: it's up in the air, man. And Barkley's injury, Smitty's injury,
- 25:40Speaker 3: we're going to get the injuries in a minute. That's
- 25:43Speaker 3: the adjunct of this. Offensive line reconfiguration and the massive
- 25:49Speaker 3: injury situation are not just one side of the football.
- 25:51Speaker 3: That's the thing. Usually with the Eagles, it's one side,
- 25:54Speaker 3: not both. This is insane what's going on here.
- 25:57Speaker 1: Yeah, well, that's to your point. That's where.
- 26:00Speaker 2: The Eagles need to get their run game going, and
- 26:02Speaker 2: they're going to try, and we'll get into the injuries there.
- 26:04Speaker 1: But when you have an offensive line.
- 26:06Speaker 2: As inexperienced right now as it is and beat up,
- 26:10Speaker 2: and you're also without your great running back, I mean,
- 26:13Speaker 2: a good defense like the Jaguars is not going to
- 26:15Speaker 2: probably let you establish. They're going to dare you to
- 26:18Speaker 2: pass the ball because what do you have in the
- 26:20Speaker 2: passing game right now?
- 26:22Speaker 3: Oh, I would play an eight-man front. Go ahead and
- 26:25Speaker 3: try to run. You're not going to be able to
- 26:25Speaker 3: run against us, and we're going to get after you. Yeah.
- 26:28Speaker 3: Anthony Campanelli, like this is probably, he probably will not
- 26:31Speaker 3: sleep the night before and be so excited. Yeah. It
- 26:34Speaker 3: was probably like Vic, when Vic, well, Vic decided not
- 26:38Speaker 3: to blitz against the Chiefs in the Super Bowl because
- 26:39Speaker 3: he knew he didn't have to because they were playing
- 26:41Speaker 3: a guarded left tackle.
- 26:43Speaker 1: Yep.
- 26:45Speaker 3: So this is disgusting. We have to watch it. Maybe
- 26:51Speaker 3: if I have a lucky rabbit's foot, I just would,
- 26:54Speaker 3: please be competitive. Come on, we need a competitive game.
- 26:56Speaker 1: They weren't competitive against the Rams. I don't know if
- 26:58Speaker 1: anybody feels good about it.
- 27:01Speaker 3: But that was weather. Weather had played a part. But, yes,
- 27:03Speaker 3: it was competitive, shockingly, in a weird, odd way in
- 27:06Speaker 3: the first half. You couldn't make it up what was
- 27:08Speaker 3: going on. But let's move to the injuries because there's
- 27:11Speaker 3: a lot.
- 27:12Speaker 1: Yeah. So, I mean, first of all, we already know
- 27:15Speaker 1: Dickerson's still on IR. So he ain't coming back. Barkley.
- 27:20Speaker 2: He's week to week, so he didn't practice with his hamstring.
- 27:23Speaker 2: So this is what we're talking about with the offense
- 27:24Speaker 2: being stripped down. The Hollywood Brown was not able to
- 27:27Speaker 2: practice Wednesday. There was no pop-up for the offense. And Devontae,
- 27:32Speaker 2: you've been saying since last week.
- 27:33Speaker 3: Oh, there wasn't?
- 27:34Speaker 1: Oh, I'm sorry, there was.
- 27:35Speaker 3: I'm sorry, I forgot. Drew Kendall, like, where did this happen?
- 27:38Speaker 1: So that was my point about being one. I'm already
- 27:40Speaker 1: nervous that Drew Kendall missed Wednesday's practice.
- 27:42Speaker 3: He did go into the tent to get checked. Yep.
- 27:45Speaker 3: And he came right back. So maybe, and he didn't work.
- 27:49Speaker 3: I wouldn't be concerned yet. I wouldn't be concerned. They
- 27:52Speaker 3: leave after Friday's practice for London, but let's just see.
- 27:56Speaker 3: I wouldn't panic yet. Agreed.
- 27:58Speaker 2: But if you don't get the full practice by Friday,
- 28:00Speaker 2: then you are looking at Micah Morris at left guard
- 28:05Speaker 2: and Willie Lampka at center.
- 28:06Speaker 3: Or they could play Ojukwu. They could do it. Either way. Yeah,
- 28:10Speaker 3: so Hollywood Brown, it's a shame. Like, This is his
- 28:20Speaker 3: third week with his ankle injury, which would make you
- 28:22Speaker 3: think it's a high ankle. We'll see. Devontae, forget about
- 28:27Speaker 3: the hamstring. He's week to week here. Hopefully soon he'll
- 28:31Speaker 3: start working so we can get a better idea. Now,
- 28:35Speaker 3: there's some good news. We suspect that this would be
- 28:37Speaker 3: the week for Dallas Goddard to at least test his
- 28:39Speaker 3: knee with the MCL sprain grade two. This is around
- 28:42Speaker 3: when this is around. this is the beginning of when
- 28:47Speaker 3: a player could potentially come back. So we'll see what
- 28:48Speaker 3: he did get some work. He was able to test
- 28:50Speaker 3: it Wednesday. See how the rest of the practice goes
- 28:53Speaker 3: the rest of the week here. Fred Johnson started testing
- 28:56Speaker 3: that knee that he hurt in practice three weeks ago.
- 28:59Speaker 3: And then the good news, Zach Bond's progressing in the protocol.
- 29:03Speaker 3: He worked on Wednesday. He can only do a limit
- 29:05Speaker 3: at this point, but the good thing is he's progressing
- 29:08Speaker 3: that he needs to get, he needs to be cleared
- 29:10Speaker 3: by Friday and Quinion Mitchell is, Good thing is he
- 29:13Speaker 3: did get some work in Wednesday. That's a great sign.
- 29:15Speaker 3: Great sign with Nick. It's great.
- 29:17Speaker 1: That was worrisome. So very, very good. Yeah. Yeah.
- 29:20Speaker 2: So there is a chance as we, you know, when
- 29:22Speaker 2: we'll do the pregame show and there's a chance you
- 29:24Speaker 2: can get Vaughn Goddard, Fred Johnson and Mitchell all available
- 29:28Speaker 2: for this game.
- 29:29Speaker 1: I don't know if you'll get all four. You might
- 29:31Speaker 1: just get a couple. We'll see.
- 29:32Speaker 2: I think the real, the ones that you really, obviously
- 29:36Speaker 2: you would love to have bond and mitchell on defense
- 29:38Speaker 2: if that can happen.
- 29:39Speaker 1: Goddard i would think that even if he could make it.
- 29:41Speaker 2: Back with an mcl sprain just knowing the history of
- 29:43Speaker 2: that like it's he's had it tough it's i know
- 29:46Speaker 2: you just wonder like are you getting an 100 goddard
- 29:48Speaker 2: or just i know trying to like get out there
- 29:51Speaker 2: and lay it out for us you know.
- 29:52Speaker 3: What on your on your point you just made it's
- 29:56Speaker 3: to the point they have to find somebody who could run.
- 29:59Speaker 3: It's so bad at tight end. I mean, when they,
- 30:02Speaker 3: when they, when they put, uh, when they flexed out
- 30:04Speaker 3: Johnny Munt, I was like, I know that you have
- 30:07Speaker 3: to do something with them. I understand. Oh, a couple
- 30:11Speaker 3: more that we need to mention.
- 30:12Speaker 2: Oh, wait, really important though. Really important on your tight
- 30:15Speaker 2: end point for, for having to have. So on, as
- 30:18Speaker 2: of Wednesday, they did not, they could have, but did not. Well,
- 30:21Speaker 2: he was eligible, I believe to be put in the
- 30:24Speaker 2: practice window. Um, Grant Calcaterra, but they did not.
- 30:29Speaker 1: No, no, no.
- 30:30Speaker 3: And Stowers either, which is, which is not good.
- 30:32Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 30:33Speaker 3: We do need to mention these defensive injuries. Grenard with
- 30:35Speaker 3: the ankle where he couldn't return the game. It didn't work.
- 30:37Speaker 3: Epps with the groin. It's going to be Michael Carter
- 30:39Speaker 3: this week. And John Campbell with the knee. Did he
- 30:44Speaker 3: have it listed the week before? I have to look
- 30:45Speaker 3: that up. I don't remember.
- 30:47Speaker 1: I don't recall that, but he is on it.
- 30:49Speaker 3: He didn't work Wednesday. That's not good.
- 30:50Speaker 1: Yep.
- 30:52Speaker 3: Obviously they trot. Junior is would start for Campbell. If, um,
- 30:57Speaker 3: if Vaughn can't play. And obviously Trott Jr. is better
- 30:59Speaker 3: than Mike. He's better at the Mike spot could play
- 31:01Speaker 3: either Mike or Will. So, look, it's a work in
- 31:07Speaker 3: progress with these injuries. And the coaches are being pressed
- 31:12Speaker 3: against the wall on this. This is really hard to
- 31:14Speaker 3: work like this if you're a coach.
- 31:15Speaker 1: Sure.
- 31:16Speaker 3: But you don't control injuries. That's the thing. You just
- 31:19Speaker 3: coach them up. Coaches have not been great the last
- 31:21Speaker 3: two weeks. That has nothing to do with injuries. You've
- 31:23Speaker 3: got to coach up better. The guys that you have,
- 31:25Speaker 3: it's all tape-based, what we were talking about here. We
- 31:27Speaker 3: showed it on inside the tape and Greg was, Greg
- 31:31Speaker 3: does not like criticizing coaches, but he, he has a
- 31:33Speaker 3: way of saying it where you could read into it,
- 31:35Speaker 3: that it's gotta be better. Everyone's gotta be better. You
- 31:37Speaker 3: gotta do better with the players that you have. That's
- 31:40Speaker 3: what they have to do a better job of.
- 31:41Speaker 1: Did you happen to see the line for this game?
- 31:44Speaker 3: I haven't seen it, but I'm going to guess my
- 31:46Speaker 3: line would have been eight.
- 31:50Speaker 2: It's actually seven, but I can't even remember the last
- 31:52Speaker 2: time that Eagles were seven point dogs.
- 31:55Speaker 3: Can you? No, but it's a home game technically for
- 31:58Speaker 3: the Jaguars.
- 31:59Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 32:01Speaker 3: That's their home away from home. The Eagles are severely
- 32:03Speaker 3: beat up.
- 32:04Speaker 2: Right, but I don't think Vegas gives the three to
- 32:06Speaker 2: the team just because.
- 32:08Speaker 3: It's– No, but I'm just saying they have a home
- 32:09Speaker 3: field advantage. Although I haven't seen a lot of the
- 32:12Speaker 3: London games with the Jaguars, so I have to see
- 32:14Speaker 3: how loud it is. But the Eagles are so beat
- 32:18Speaker 3: up on both sides of the football. They're reeling right now.
- 32:21Speaker 3: There's nothing you can hang your hat on other than
- 32:23Speaker 3: their special teams units have been really good. Really good.
- 32:27Speaker 3: It's not what you want. Like you love it if
- 32:31Speaker 3: you're the coaches, but you don't want that to be
- 32:33Speaker 3: the reason, like the best reason in the football team.
- 32:35Speaker 3: That's not what you want that to be third, not first. Right.
- 32:38Speaker 3: Dick Elliott's back. He's looked great. A man's the man.
- 32:41Speaker 3: And Ringo's a special teams demon. Going downfield, making open
- 32:45Speaker 3: field tackles. That's what he does. Yep. My goodness gracious.
- 32:48Speaker 3: This thing is, I was telling our Patreon group, I cannot,
- 32:53Speaker 3: I was like, guys, I want to be so wrong
- 32:55Speaker 3: about this where you haze me I was like, you
- 32:57Speaker 3: were wrong.
- 32:57Speaker 1: You idiot.
- 32:58Speaker 3: I'll take it.
- 32:58Speaker 1: Go ahead.
- 33:00Speaker 3: We, we, we don't root. Okay. That's not our job,
- 33:04Speaker 3: but we want a competitive team.
- 33:06Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 33:06Speaker 3: We don't want 2020 all over again.
- 33:08Speaker 1: Yeah. I mean, yeah.
- 33:10Speaker 2: We want interesting stuff to be able to talk to
- 33:13Speaker 2: our listeners and we want our listeners to be happy
- 33:15Speaker 2: people in general, not have to go to Twitter and
- 33:18Speaker 2: say some terrible things about it. That just don't make sense.
- 33:21Speaker 3: You know what? You know what they haven't said? They've, they've,
- 33:25Speaker 3: they wanted Sirianni fired after the first loss. They still
- 33:28Speaker 3: want him fired terribly. They want this done. They want
- 33:31Speaker 3: this done. And they never think about who they want
- 33:33Speaker 3: the head coach to be. They just want him out.
- 33:35Speaker 3: But they haven't done, to their credit, they haven't asked
- 33:38Speaker 3: Jeff Lurie to sell the team yet.
- 33:39Speaker 1: They haven't done that yet.
- 33:41Speaker 2: Hey, Philly fans, game day is stressful enough. Parking, traffic,
- 33:45Speaker 2: long lines. We've all been there. But when it comes
- 33:48Speaker 2: to your cannabis, Camden Apothecary makes it easy. This is
- 33:52Speaker 2: the dispensary for sports fans. Just minutes outside of Philly
- 33:57Speaker 2: with plenty of free parking. You'll be in and out fast.
- 34:00Speaker 1: No hassle. No waiting.
- 34:02Speaker 2: And they don't just care about convenience. Camden Apothecary is
- 34:05Speaker 2: all about the guest experience. Their staff makes sure you

- 34:27Speaker 2: to the community with specials for fans students service members
- 34:31Speaker 2: and health care pros camden apothecary top quality cannabis great
- 34:36Speaker 2: prices and an experience made for philly fans 21 and.
- 34:40Speaker 4: Up they haven't come for howie's head either it seems
- 34:43Speaker 4: like how he's a little bit uh how he's kind
- 34:45Speaker 4: of been able to survive the fact that he didn't
- 34:48Speaker 4: have some of the greatest moves the last two years either.
- 34:50Speaker 1: And some of his drafts, especially recently, it's too early
- 34:54Speaker 1: to judge, but may not be the best.
- 34:55Speaker 3: He was on a roll like 21 through 24, one
- 35:00Speaker 3: of the best. And then the last two years, I
- 35:01Speaker 3: know it's early, but they need to get better returns.
- 35:04Speaker 3: But as we said, folks to end this year, they're
- 35:06Speaker 3: going to start getting some, they're going to get an
- 35:08Speaker 3: idea on bell on Kendall trot, Jr. Campbell when he's healthy.
- 35:15Speaker 3: A lot of guys are going to be playing a lot.
- 35:16Speaker 3: That's the good thing. Unlike the Phillies, who are the
- 35:19Speaker 3: old geezers club with bad contracts, where you're stuck, although
- 35:24Speaker 3: we'll see about Miller next year, but at least you're
- 35:27Speaker 3: going to get an idea. It's not the way you
- 35:30Speaker 3: want to do it, but you know what? Embrace it
- 35:31Speaker 3: because it's coming, folks. Here it is.
- 35:33Speaker 2: The Willie Lampkin era is upon us. Everybody was excited
- 35:36Speaker 2: for it. I don't think they realized what it would
- 35:38Speaker 2: take to get it, but it is here. And I
- 35:41Speaker 2: do look forward.
- 35:41Speaker 1: To seeing how Willie goes out there and handles himself.
- 35:44Speaker 2: Because even if the team loses, but he actually plays
- 35:47Speaker 2: pretty well, he's a fascinating story.
- 35:50Speaker 3: I can't wait. In fact, I'm going to tell Greg. Well,
- 35:53Speaker 3: it's really your call. Because I know you can't wait
- 35:57Speaker 3: to watch the tape of Monday. Yeah. We better have
- 36:00Speaker 3: at least, good or bad, we better have.
- 36:02Speaker 1: We'll be hyper-focused on Will.
- 36:04Speaker 3: Oh, yeah. I hope he's 61, I think. I hope
- 36:09Speaker 3: he's good because he's so fun to watch. Mm-hmm. I
- 36:14Speaker 3: know because there's limited contact in training camp and obviously
- 36:18Speaker 3: offensive linemen. There's no tackling, but it's not. There's certain
- 36:22Speaker 3: things you can't do in training camp, but he didn't
- 36:25Speaker 3: seem to care. Like he's so physical, so strong. He
- 36:27Speaker 3: was a former wrestler, but that's great. But now you're
- 36:31Speaker 3: in the regular season and who the hell knows if
- 36:32Speaker 3: he's going to get thrown down, thrown around like a
- 36:34Speaker 3: rag doll. Who knows? Don't know. That's the thing. We
- 36:37Speaker 3: have no idea what's going to happen.
- 36:39Speaker 2: Expect to see lots of five-man and six-man fronts for
- 36:41Speaker 2: the Jags to force the Eagles into a one-on-one blocking opportunity.
- 36:45Speaker 3: They might do an eight-man front. They're not going to
- 36:47Speaker 3: blitz like that. They're just going to line them up.
- 36:50Speaker 3: Zero blitzes at every step. You can't throw against us.
- 36:53Speaker 3: Get out of here. We're going to have a 10-man front.
- 36:57Speaker 3: The safety is going to have a Maragos treatment. They're
- 36:59Speaker 3: going to have a 40 yards downfield. They're just going
- 37:01Speaker 3: to line up 10. Try to throw against us.
- 37:03Speaker 1: Good luck. You were definitely going to see some creative
- 37:05Speaker 1: stuff on Sunday.
- 37:07Speaker 3: This blip could be nasty, man.
- 37:10Speaker 1: All right. Good stuff. All right. Excellent stuff.
- 37:13Speaker 2: We'll have a lot more about this game against the
- 37:16Speaker 2: Jaguars on the Inside the Birds pregame show with Greg Cosell,
- 37:19Speaker 2: who will probably himself be very excited to give us
- 37:22Speaker 2: his tape observations on what he thinks the offensive line
- 37:25Speaker 2: will look like. That's going to do it for this
- 37:27Speaker 2: episode of Inside the Birds, the leading podcast in Eagles intel.
- 37:30Speaker 1: For Adam Kaplan, I'm Jeff Mosher. As always, we thank you.
- 37:34Speaker 1: for flying with us inside the bird.
