Albemarle County just unveiled Mountain View Upper, its first new elementary school in 24 years, built specifically for third through fifth graders to match their growing independence with features like a spacious cafeteria, soundproof gym, and flexible learning zones. Designed by VMDO Architects, the building maximizes natural light and smartly organizes specialty rooms on the first floor while regular classrooms rise above.
