- 0:34SPEAKER_02: Hi guys, welcome back to another episode of Skincare Anarchy.
- 0:39SPEAKER_02: I am so excited to introduce this brand new upcoming skincare line to you guys.
- 0:44SPEAKER_02: I have the CEO and founder of the Olivier Love with me today.
- 0:50SPEAKER_02: Her name is Leah Esteban, and I don't want to shed too much light.
- 0:54SPEAKER_02: I want Leah to tell us all about the line, but welcome to the show.
- 0:58SPEAKER_02: Leah, thank you so much for saying yes to coming on.
- 1:01SPEAKER_02: We are so, so happy to have you here.
- 1:05SPEAKER_01: Hi, thank you so much for having me.
- 1:08SPEAKER_01: So exciting.
- 1:10SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it's our pleasure.
- 1:11SPEAKER_02: I want to know all about your new skincare line because when I first saw you on Instagram, I was immediately drawn in.
- 1:19SPEAKER_02: You know, I love grease.
- 1:21SPEAKER_02: I love olives, you know, I love olive oil, and I think it has it has so many health benefits.
- 1:27SPEAKER_02: And I just really love that you are saying boldly this is the olive oil-based line.
- 1:33SPEAKER_02: So can you dive deep into that for us?
- 1:35SPEAKER_02: And first tell us all about yourself.
- 1:39SPEAKER_01: Sure.
- 1:40SPEAKER_01: So yeah, as you said, my name is uh Laya.
- 1:43SPEAKER_01: I'm originally from Spain.
- 1:46SPEAKER_01: I'm originally from Barcelona, which is a very Mediterranean city, and uh that's where my love for olives and olive oil uh originated.
- 1:58SPEAKER_01: I always saw uh yeah, I always saw my grandmas using olive oil for everything related with the skin.
- 2:04SPEAKER_01: Basically, because yeah, back when they were young, uh there was nothing else available or there were very few things available.
- 2:12SPEAKER_01: So olive oil was a really good product, especially yeah, from the Mediterranean with all this amazing weather.
- 2:20SPEAKER_01: Uh, olive is a really big thing in Spain, Italy, Greece, like you were saying.
- 2:25SPEAKER_01: So, yeah, olive oil has always been one of my to-go ingredients whenever I've had any uh dermatitis or any other issues uh with my body or my face.
- 2:38SPEAKER_01: So, yeah, I it was in my to-do list for very long.
- 2:42SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and I love that you I love that you went back to your culture to um create this line because I know in Indian culture we love coconut oil, you know.
- 2:51SPEAKER_02: So when you say that, um it's very interesting because I think cultures have these like um, you know, different cultures have these ingredients and these these products that have been passed down with generations, you know, as as being very, very good for our skin or our hair.
- 3:05SPEAKER_02: So I really love that.
- 3:07SPEAKER_02: So okay, um, can you tell me a little bit about um the formulation of your products?
- 3:14SPEAKER_02: I mean, did you think that did you want to give it um the same kind of way that you had it when you were a child?
- 3:19SPEAKER_02: You had just olive oil, or did you go into another um track with formulating it?
- 3:27SPEAKER_01: No, it's not just only olive oil.
- 3:30SPEAKER_01: Um so right now I'm I just want to say that I'm I'm living in California.
- 3:34SPEAKER_01: I'm established in San Francisco since this is my fourth year here.
- 3:39SPEAKER_01: And um I got to know through my work um this uh guy that owns um a little olive oil farm in Napa and Sonoma in the north north of California.
- 3:53SPEAKER_01: And uh of course I was from the beginning on when he said this, I was like, oh my god, can I come visit your farm?
- 3:58SPEAKER_01: Like I love olive oil, like I love everything about it.
- 4:01SPEAKER_01: Can I just come and do a tasting of your olive oil and maybe I can buy some bottles?
- 4:05SPEAKER_01: Just for cooking purposes, I was I wasn't thinking any farther, and of course I use it for myself, for the skin, but just like that.
- 4:12SPEAKER_01: So I I went there and oh my god, I was fascinated by his uh farm.
- 4:17SPEAKER_01: They have this small farm with a hundred olive oil trees that his family planted themselves back in the 70s, and they do dry farming, which means the quality of the olives is amazing.
- 4:33SPEAKER_01: So after trying this and and having this resource like so easy for me, I started cooking at home some things, cooking meaning like skincare cooking, like preparing something for myself, and then I started, of course, giving it also to my friends.
- 4:51SPEAKER_01: Um, some of them are dealing with some uh adult acne.
- 4:55SPEAKER_01: And uh yeah, I was like, dude, like leave all that you're using right now and just use this that I'm preparing for you, and let's see how your body and your skin reacts.
- 5:04SPEAKER_01: I had a friend with uh eczema, and um yeah, we are like in our 30s, late 20s, like yeah, early enough to start having already having some issues, and she loved it.
- 5:17SPEAKER_01: So yeah, then I decided to why not try to create my own brand.
- 5:23SPEAKER_01: That's huge.
- 5:24SPEAKER_02: Uh because eczema is so hard to do that.
- 5:30SPEAKER_02: You know, eczema is one of those conditions that's extremely difficult, and I think um a lot of people suffer from just finding anything that can relieve a little bit, you know?
- 5:40SPEAKER_02: So that's really big that you um were able to give this to her for her eczema and she enjoyed it.
- 5:46SPEAKER_01: Yes, yes.
- 5:48SPEAKER_01: So, my skincare um line for now will only launch with two products.
- 5:53SPEAKER_01: I'm focusing on two products.
- 5:55SPEAKER_01: Uh, well, because I'm by myself, I'm I'm gonna do everything like handmade.
- 6:00SPEAKER_01: Uh, I'm gonna use this olive oil that is extra virgin and um dry farming from this friend of mine.
- 6:06SPEAKER_01: Uh it's a really good quality olive oil.
- 6:09SPEAKER_01: And it's gonna be a waterless uh skincare brand.
- 6:13SPEAKER_01: I want the products to be very, very rich.
- 6:15SPEAKER_01: I don't want to add, they are not gonna have any any additives.
- 6:19SPEAKER_01: They are gonna be six months uh shelf-life, they are gonna be really natural and really pure.
- 6:26SPEAKER_01: And uh yeah, they uh I hope people are are gonna like them and they are gonna see the benefits on their skin.
- 6:33SPEAKER_02: Yeah, absolutely.
- 6:34SPEAKER_02: And I think that um, you know, there's nothing wrong with sticking to one core ingredient, in my opinion, you know.
- 6:41SPEAKER_02: Like I know a lot of lions they love to incorporate like 15 different oils, you know what I mean, into uh into a serum.
- 6:48SPEAKER_02: And that's fine and it's good, but I like seeing a brand that's saying, no, this is our foundation, you know, and this is what we're this is the product we're going for because I think sometimes you want to be able to say what caused the problem, right?
- 7:03SPEAKER_02: So like you you should know what's in your skincare, is where I'm where I'm trying to go with this.
- 7:08SPEAKER_02: So it it's very I feel like your brand is very transparent in that way.
- 7:13SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah, totally transparent, full disclosure of all the ingredients.
- 7:18SPEAKER_01: It's both products are gonna have um very few ingredients, but they are gonna be, yeah, very rich products.
- 7:27SPEAKER_02: So, what other ingredients um do you are you using with the olive oil?
- 7:31SPEAKER_02: Is it something that stabilizes another ingredient?
- 7:34SPEAKER_02: I mean, can you go dive into that a little bit more, the ingredient decks?
- 7:38SPEAKER_01: Sure, sure.
- 7:39SPEAKER_01: So I'm gonna have to I'm gonna start with, or I want to start the line with two products.
- 7:44SPEAKER_01: One is gonna be an oil cleanser, which is gonna be very mild because oil cleansers, I mean, not just mine, in general, oil cleansers don't disturb the pH from the skin as much as a water-based cleanser, which usually contains more chemicals or stabilizers rather than an oil cleanser.
- 8:04SPEAKER_01: So one of the products of the line is gonna be an oil cleanser, which of course the main ingredient is gonna be olive oil, but it's gonna be enriched with um vitamin E, also known as tocoperol.
- 8:17SPEAKER_01: Some people might know it, know it better as tocoperol.
- 8:20SPEAKER_01: Uh, it's a really pure vitamin E with uh 70,000 uh IU, which is a very high concentration of vitamin E.
- 8:31SPEAKER_01: Uh, it's also gonna have rose hip oil, which is also another type of oil that I love.
- 8:37SPEAKER_01: And it's gonna have uh two more ingredients that I don't want to get disclosed.
- 8:43SPEAKER_01: Yeah, of course.
- 8:44SPEAKER_02: The intrigue until I lunch.
- 8:46SPEAKER_02: Of course, and vitamin E is so good for your skin, you know.
- 8:50SPEAKER_02: It's it's such a vitamin E is so important for skin.
- 8:54SPEAKER_01: Yes, I think especially the type of vitamin E and the concentration, because I see a lot of vitamin E's in the market that have very, very low concentrations, and uh this one is gonna be also very intense.
- 9:09SPEAKER_01: I think with very little of the product, people are gonna see very good uh improving their skin condition.
- 9:17SPEAKER_01: Yes, yes, and the second product, which is gonna be uh concentrate balm.
- 9:23SPEAKER_01: So it's gonna have the qualities of a serum, it's gonna be very rich vitamin and antioxidant-wise, but it's gonna have the texture of a balm.
- 9:32SPEAKER_01: So I call it the concentrate balm.
- 9:35SPEAKER_01: Um, yeah, I'm gonna start with these two products.
- 9:38SPEAKER_01: I think they are perfect for a very simple and rich routine, only two products.
- 9:43SPEAKER_01: And um, yeah, I hope people are gonna like them.
- 9:47SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I think that that's a really good way to start off with just two products because you know, the whole idea right now, I think, is minimalism in skincare.
- 9:56SPEAKER_02: You know, everyone's trying to find that one or two, you know, product routine that works for them, you know, something very quick, very easy, but it works.
- 10:04SPEAKER_02: And I know I fall into that, you know, because I'm I have a busy schedule as all of us do.
- 10:09SPEAKER_02: And, you know, in the morning or in the evening, if I can just use, like you said, your cleanser, you know, I can use the cleanser and then put on the bomb, I feel great, you know, because then I don't have to go do the 10-step routine, you know, with Korean skincare.
- 10:21SPEAKER_02: So it's really nice.
- 10:23SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 10:25SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 10:26SPEAKER_02: So tell me a little bit more about um, tell me a little bit more about your the inspire inspiration behind it too.
- 10:32SPEAKER_02: Because I know that your um on your Instagram you have beautiful, beautiful imagery.
- 10:38SPEAKER_02: Um, it's I it really takes me into that Hellenistic period where it was like, you know, a lot of Greece is there, the Roman times, you know.
- 10:46SPEAKER_02: So I really, really love that.
- 10:47SPEAKER_02: Um can you tell me a little bit more about um the whole inspiration kind of, you know, more so yes, definitely.
- 10:57SPEAKER_01: So even if right now I'm established in uh California, my soul, my spirit, and myself, I'm so European, like Southern European, like Mediterranean.
- 11:08SPEAKER_01: And uh that's just who I am.
- 11:11SPEAKER_01: I cannot, I cannot change that.
- 11:12SPEAKER_01: It's something that I love also, and uh that's why the style of the brand is gonna be very Mediterranean focused, even if the source of the olive oil right now is gonna be from a Northern California farm, because that's what I have right now available with me.
- 11:29SPEAKER_01: Um I think this in particular, this olive oil that I found to do this is top quality, and that's something that I really appreciate.
- 11:41SPEAKER_01: So the essence of the brand is still gonna be Mediterranean because that's where I'm from, and that's where the origin of all this started, no, from seeing in my family the use of olive oil for everything, and traveling always to front to the south of France, to Italy, to Greece, always buying oil, olive oil everywhere.
- 12:02SPEAKER_02: I love the south of France, it's one of my favorite places to go.
- 12:06SPEAKER_02: It's so nice.
- 12:07SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 12:07SPEAKER_01: I post actually, yeah.
- 12:09SPEAKER_01: I have a lot of yeah, I have some pictures prepared to post from.
- 12:12SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I love especially the villas in the south of France that have their own gardens with their own olive oil trees and other trees from the area.
- 12:22SPEAKER_01: That's something, yeah, that's it's my dream to have my own garden.
- 12:26SPEAKER_02: Now, are you going to market this in the um in the Mediterranean uh countries or are you not going to take it overseas?
- 12:34SPEAKER_01: So for right now, thinking of 2021, which is when uh I'm going to launch, uh, I'm just thinking US, just because I'm uh this is a one one lady show, it's just me.
- 12:48SPEAKER_01: Sounds like me.
- 12:49SPEAKER_01: And I will take it from I will take it from there.
- 12:52SPEAKER_01: I mean, I'm not saying no, I will just take it from there.
- 12:55SPEAKER_01: Uh yeah, let's see how it goes.
- 12:57SPEAKER_01: Yeah, just kind of start here and then see.
- 12:59SPEAKER_01: I I hope people are gonna like olive oil in their routine and they are gonna see the benefits in their skin.
- 13:06SPEAKER_01: But if if they don't and the brand doesn't work, then I don't think it will make sense for me to try to bring it overseas to yeah.
- 13:15SPEAKER_02: I mean, but you know what?
- 13:17SPEAKER_02: Here's the thing.
- 13:18SPEAKER_02: I think that people are not like, okay, let me just say this.
- 13:22SPEAKER_02: From a scientific standpoint, when I hear any kind of oil-based skincare line, I'm very drawn to it because I understand, you know, in the scientific world, it's like, you know, the vitamins that are fat-soluble, which is you know, lipid soluble, which are oils, are uh A, D, E, and K.
- 13:39SPEAKER_02: So when you say vitamin E, I'm instantly drawn to it because it's a lipid-soluble vitamin that's probably existing in great, in a you know, intact state in your formulation.
- 13:50SPEAKER_02: So I think that it makes sense from you know how I'm looking at it.
- 13:54SPEAKER_02: So I will be very keen to like see your line and then pick it up.
- 13:57SPEAKER_02: But I think the education of um how important olive oil and how good it is for your skin, I think that whole area um, I think maybe a lot of people don't know about.
- 14:07SPEAKER_02: So can you do you know um anyone or do you do you have any kind of like insight for anyone listening that might not know much about olive oil, but they're very, very curious, like why they should kind of go and try it through your products?
- 14:23SPEAKER_01: Oh, definitely.
- 14:24SPEAKER_01: So olive oil, yeah, uh it's what is one of these oils that I don't know, I feel like right now the the market is uh inundated with uh floated with uh oils.
- 14:35SPEAKER_01: There are so many oils like Jojoba oil, uh rose hip oil, like I was saying.
- 14:40SPEAKER_01: Um there's just so many oils out there argan oil, coconut oil.
- 14:44SPEAKER_01: I feel like olive oil is not very present in a skincare, which I really don't understand why, because it's first of all, it's a non-comatogenic oil, which means it's not gonna clog the pores of your skin.
- 14:58SPEAKER_01: The skin sucks it and absorbs it really easily.
- 15:03SPEAKER_01: It's a very gentle oil and it's very rich in antioxidants, in vitamins.
- 15:09SPEAKER_01: It's it's just it's everything is benefits about olive oil.
- 15:13SPEAKER_01: And um yeah, I think uh bringing uh brand in the market with olive oil will give more knowledge to the people on how beneficial this oil actually is.
- 15:26SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah, I think so too.
- 15:28SPEAKER_02: And I think um even you know, I know you haven't uh said anything, but I could I think you could even turn it into an ingestible in a way, because olive oil is good for your skin and it's good for your body.
- 15:39SPEAKER_02: Honestly, it's it's a very, very good ingredient.
- 15:41SPEAKER_02: So I think like maybe down the line, you know, if you want to think about ingestibles, because I know some skincare lines go in that route as well, you know, so it could be plausible because you know, olive oil is great, it's great for cooking, it's great for everything.
- 15:56SPEAKER_01: Oh that oh yeah, oh yeah, definitely.
- 15:58SPEAKER_01: I mean, in Spain, um we only cook with olive oil.
- 16:03SPEAKER_01: We never cook with butter or butter or any other vegetable oils.
- 16:09SPEAKER_01: We only cook with olive oil, it's like impregnated in the culture.
- 16:14SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 16:15SPEAKER_02: No, it's true.
- 16:15SPEAKER_02: My mother actually, even I'm I'm Indian, but like I've been grow I've actually lived in the Mediterranean, and I think that's where I picked it up, and I only use olive oil for cooking as well.
- 16:25SPEAKER_02: So it's like, you know, when I go for my, you know, if I'm making anything, my first thing is let me get the oil.
- 16:31SPEAKER_02: You know, it's not butter, it's not vegetable oil.
- 16:33SPEAKER_02: So I completely agree with you.
- 16:35SPEAKER_02: I think it's it's a multicultural thing, you know.
- 16:38SPEAKER_01: Definitely.
- 16:39SPEAKER_01: Yeah, definitely.
- 16:41SPEAKER_01: Also, um, I think enriching the olive oil with other ingredients that just add on it.
- 16:49SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I don't know.
- 16:50SPEAKER_01: I'm just obsessed with the the of course I have I have some some products for myself that that I use every day from from the ones that I will launch with.
- 17:00SPEAKER_01: And uh the concentrate balm, I enriched it with matcha, which is the most rich antioxidant product on earth.
- 17:09SPEAKER_01: And I don't know, just olive oil with matcha is just my skin is glowing, really.
- 17:15SPEAKER_01: Since I started using it regularly, uh of course, me and my friends we are testing it to bring a product that is completely safe into the market.
- 17:25SPEAKER_01: We are all like obsessed with it.
- 17:27SPEAKER_01: I'm personally super obsessed with the concentrate balance, it's so rich and after a few uses, your skin is just glowing.
- 17:36SPEAKER_01: I don't have any acne, nothing.
- 17:39SPEAKER_01: It's it's really, really nice.
- 17:41SPEAKER_02: So you would uh you would recommend this for acne-prone skin as well, then yeah.
- 17:47SPEAKER_01: It's suitable for all skin types, uh, which I see also that a lot of um skincare brands position themselves as they are suitable for for every every skincare type, uh, skin type.
- 18:02SPEAKER_01: This is definitely for any.
- 18:04SPEAKER_01: I mean, mature skin is gonna be probably the most beneficial for this type of um of product with olive oil based, uh, because it's very uh rich and very it brightens your skin and it just gives you a really nice glow, which is actually what the skin starts to lose with with age.
- 18:26SPEAKER_01: You start to lose collagen and your skin doesn't look as bright anymore.
- 18:31SPEAKER_01: This is super good for mature skin.
- 18:33SPEAKER_01: It's definitely really good for dry skin.
- 18:36SPEAKER_01: It's also really good for acne-prone skin because this is a non-comitogenic uh oil and it's a non-comedogenic product.
- 18:43SPEAKER_01: Uh it helps a lot with eczema and um dermatitis.
- 18:48SPEAKER_01: To me, it really helps.
- 18:49SPEAKER_01: I got dermatitis in my cheeks a couple of times, and when I apply this, it just disappears in a couple of days.
- 18:55SPEAKER_01: Disappears really quick.
- 18:56SPEAKER_01: Zero chemicals, just applying this on clean skin.
- 19:01SPEAKER_02: I have a question because from what I'm starting to see in now in skincare is that this whole um, you know, the products are very, very focused around basically trying to combat any kind of inflammatory process in the skin, where it's like either if it's acne or if it's dermatitis or if it's you know um any kind of irritation.
- 19:21SPEAKER_02: And I'm seeing that um people are really understanding and realizing that oils help that.
- 19:27SPEAKER_02: Like for me personally, before I discovered your line, I was uh I would always use marula oil.
- 19:32SPEAKER_02: And marula oil for me was very good because it immediately took away the redness.
- 19:37SPEAKER_02: So um if you were to compare this to something, have you tried marula oil before?
- 19:41SPEAKER_02: Um, personally, yes, yes, yes, yes.
- 19:44SPEAKER_01: I've tried marula oil.
- 19:46SPEAKER_02: How how would you compare the feel and the you know I mean the whole experience compared to marula oil?
- 19:51SPEAKER_02: Because I think a lot of people can relate to that one and then um compare that with olive oil.
- 19:56SPEAKER_02: Is there like a difference?
- 20:00SPEAKER_01: Actually, I never thought about that.
- 20:03SPEAKER_01: I never thought of comparing uh my olive oil with uh with marula oil.
- 20:09SPEAKER_01: I mean, when I was uh trying marula oil, I liked it.
- 20:12SPEAKER_01: Uh I'm not a super big fan of marula oil, it's not one of my top top three to go uh oils, if if you want to say like that.
- 20:21SPEAKER_01: The texture is very different.
- 20:23SPEAKER_01: Olive oil is way more dense, I would say.
- 20:27SPEAKER_01: You need maybe, I would say, a few drops of it.
- 20:30SPEAKER_01: Like if you would take a really pure extra virgin raw olive oil and the same quality of marula oil.
- 20:36SPEAKER_01: I feel like marula is a little bit lighter, olive oil is a little bit more dense, which I'm not saying it's good or bad for any of them.
- 20:44SPEAKER_01: I'm just yeah, trying to compare them from a very uh objective point of view.
- 20:49SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 20:50SPEAKER_01: Uh Marula oil is definitely definitely one of the top oils uh benefit-wise.
- 20:56SPEAKER_01: Um but yeah, I I don't know.
- 20:59SPEAKER_01: I would never I don't know, I never thought of comparing them, yeah.
- 21:02SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and I think and I the reason I bring that up is because I know many people have their favorite oil product, you know what I mean?
- 21:09SPEAKER_02: So like um to give them that context, you know.
- 21:13SPEAKER_02: But yeah, I agree.
- 21:14SPEAKER_01: I don't think you can really and every skin and every skin is completely different.
- 21:19SPEAKER_01: I mean, what may work for me may not work for you.
- 21:22SPEAKER_01: And I love olive oil and it works for me, and it works for a lot of people that I know.
- 21:27SPEAKER_01: If I might give you one of my products, you might try it, and you might be like, no, this is this doesn't work for me.
- 21:33SPEAKER_01: And that's totally fine.
- 21:34SPEAKER_01: Not all products are meant for everybody.
- 21:37SPEAKER_01: Everybody needs to find what works for them, definitely.
- 21:41SPEAKER_01: Definitely.
- 21:42SPEAKER_01: I think that's a good thing.
- 21:43SPEAKER_01: And what you were commenting about uh anti inflammatory, I was just gonna say that when you what you were commenting before about anti inflammatory uh skincare trying to help that time that type of um diseases or issues or conditions, uh I just I just want to say that.
- 22:00SPEAKER_01: Yes, skincare can help, especially if it's natural and and and raw and good quality skincare, but most of these issues come from within.
- 22:10SPEAKER_01: You don't you don't get eczema because you are having the best diet with no no fried things, with no red meats, with with no sugars.
- 22:20SPEAKER_01: You usually usually we get things in our body because our diet is not as healthy as it could be.
- 22:29SPEAKER_01: So many times we also try to solve everything with skincare, but I really believe that beauty and health, not just of the skin, health of everything in our body comes from within.
- 22:39SPEAKER_01: And what we eat is more important than what we put on topically, which is also important.
- 22:46SPEAKER_01: And it can help you make the last step to get your skin where you want it to be.
- 22:51SPEAKER_01: But for me, the top one thing to take into account when you are looking for healthy skin is the intake.
- 22:58SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 22:59SPEAKER_02: I agree with you on that.
- 23:00SPEAKER_02: Because I think that that's a healthy, healthy skin.
- 23:02SPEAKER_01: I mean, and I'm saying that and I'm launching a skincare brand.
- 23:05SPEAKER_01: I mean, but it's it's what I really it's what I really believe.
- 23:10SPEAKER_02: Yeah, but I mean, uh here's the thing though, here's how it does tie into the skincare brand because you are saying something about olive oil in this way, right?
- 23:19SPEAKER_02: So, like olive oil is a healthier option than butter.
- 23:22SPEAKER_02: You know, it's a healthier option than vegetable oil, it's a healthier option than I don't know, some people in the south still use lard, you know.
- 23:29SPEAKER_02: So it's like it you have you should be, you know, like you should be making healthier choices.
- 23:34SPEAKER_02: And I think incorporating this oil um into your, you know, uh everyday eating routine or your cooking routine is so important.
- 23:44SPEAKER_02: And I I can tie that into the skincare because it's not just you saying, I'm selling olive oil for skincare, it's you saying this is what my culture taught me, you know, that this is a good ingredient, it works for many things, and it can be used obviously for skincare as well.
- 24:01SPEAKER_02: So I think that there's like yeah.
- 24:04SPEAKER_02: So cool.
- 24:05SPEAKER_02: I'm so excited about this line.
- 24:07SPEAKER_02: I'm so excited about this line.
- 24:09SPEAKER_02: Thank you.
- 24:10SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 24:11SPEAKER_02: Um, so is there so what's for the um upcoming after your first two uh launches?
- 24:16SPEAKER_02: What's what's gonna be next for you guys?
- 24:20SPEAKER_01: I don't know what's gonna be next.
- 24:22SPEAKER_01: That's a really good question.
- 24:23SPEAKER_01: I want to really focus on these two products.
- 24:25SPEAKER_01: I think the formulation for both of them is really, really special and really good.
- 24:30SPEAKER_01: The quality of all the products in the formulation is really uh top.
- 24:35SPEAKER_01: I think uh these two products are really gonna make a difference in a lot of people's skincare routines, and I will just take it from there.
- 24:43SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 24:44SPEAKER_01: I mean, I use a lot more products than just those two that I've created myself also with olive oil.
- 24:50SPEAKER_01: But yeah, first I need to see how other people react to olive oil and and if they really see the benefit on their skin, or or maybe it's just me.
- 25:00SPEAKER_02: No, no, I'm sure they will, but I have a I have a question actually.
- 25:04SPEAKER_02: How does uh the the products you're releasing, how does that work with the multi-layering that people do in skincare?
- 25:10SPEAKER_02: You know what they want to you know, people always want to put on four different products, or like, you know, so how does this work?
- 25:16SPEAKER_02: Does it layer well with everything else?
- 25:19SPEAKER_01: Definitely.
- 25:21SPEAKER_01: Um so the the oil cleanser, very clear, is the very first step in any routine oil cleansing, getting your all your impurities, all the SPF and all the makeup, everything out of your skin.
- 25:34SPEAKER_01: The oil cleanser is clearly the very first step.
- 25:37SPEAKER_01: Uh a lot of people after the oil cleanser want more cleansing and they use a water-based uh cleanser.
- 25:45SPEAKER_01: Definitely can use first the olive or rough oil cleanser and then go for a water-based one.
- 25:51SPEAKER_01: Um, I know that a lot of people also use toners or mists after that to bring back the pH of the skin to normal.
- 25:58SPEAKER_01: If you only use the oil cleanser, you don't need to do that because your pH hasn't hasn't changed.
- 26:04SPEAKER_01: Um and then uh the first thing you put is a serum.
- 26:10SPEAKER_01: This would be the concentrate balm, which I was saying that it's it's like a serum, just in the texture of a balm.
- 26:17SPEAKER_01: It's a really um soft and moisturizing balm.
- 26:22SPEAKER_01: The texture is very silky and very like your skin is gonna feel very glowy after putting it.
- 26:30SPEAKER_01: So actually, when you use this, you don't really need to add anything else to your routine.
- 26:35SPEAKER_01: This you can also put around the eyes, which is an area of the skin, uh, of the face that is very similar to the neck.
- 26:45SPEAKER_01: These two areas are less rich in collagen than the rest of the skin.
- 26:51SPEAKER_01: They are a little bit uh thinner and softer.
- 26:54SPEAKER_01: This concentrate bound you can apply it everywhere, in your nails, in the in the bottom at the tip of your of your hair, surrounding your eyes, on the neck, on the decoté, everywhere.
- 27:07SPEAKER_01: It's just so rich, like vitamin and antioxidant-wise, that yeah, I would say you don't need to add anything else.
- 27:16SPEAKER_01: So it's a more to use water.
- 27:19SPEAKER_01: It's just a really good quality and rich product that doesn't create you the need to have 20 products or or seven products in your routine.
- 27:32SPEAKER_01: This product gives you vitamins, give you antioxidants, and it's nourishing because olive oil is very your skin is gonna soak it so good, you your skin is gonna feel really nourished after putting it on.
- 27:45SPEAKER_01: So you don't need to add more things to it.
- 27:48SPEAKER_01: But I can understand uh that if some people are already used to having four, five, six steps in their routine, yeah, definitely they can use the concentrate balm either as a serum or as a balm and add more serums or other moisturizers or other balms or other eye care in the routine simultaneously with it, definitely.
- 28:10SPEAKER_01: I personally don't don't need it.
- 28:12SPEAKER_01: My skin is fine just with this product, but yeah, definitely can be integrated in any routine.
- 28:19SPEAKER_01: Each skin is different, as I was saying.
- 28:21SPEAKER_02: Yeah, everyone's skin is different, but I didn't know that you can also use this around the eye area.
- 28:26SPEAKER_02: That's very good, actually.
- 28:27SPEAKER_02: For somebody like me, that's great.
- 28:30SPEAKER_02: Yeah, because I don't have time to put on, you know, a moisturizer and then an eye cream and then you know, like the lip balm.
- 28:36SPEAKER_02: Like I don't have time for all of that.
- 28:38SPEAKER_01: So so if I can go to one product and then I would say that it's not it's not just specifically about this product, there are other balms that I've tried on the market that the the quality of the product and the texture make make it uh a unique product that you can actually use for multi-purpose.
- 28:59SPEAKER_01: If you buy, for example, if you buy vitamin C in the form of a serum, that's clearly vitamin C in the form of a serum, which is perfectly fine, but that has one clear purpose.
- 29:09SPEAKER_01: It's a serum.
- 29:10SPEAKER_01: After that, you're gonna need a moisturizer.
- 29:12SPEAKER_01: Perfect.
- 29:13SPEAKER_01: This product is different.
- 29:14SPEAKER_01: This is a combination of antioxidants and vitamins in the form of a balm, of a very nourishing balm.
- 29:22SPEAKER_01: So it concentrates the serum and the moisturizer in one product.
- 29:27SPEAKER_01: But if somebody wants to add extra layers, no problem, go ahead.
- 29:31SPEAKER_01: Every skin is different, everybody has different taste.
- 29:34SPEAKER_01: Perfect.
- 29:35SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 29:36SPEAKER_02: And I know that um, so you know, just something I know about olive oil.
- 29:40SPEAKER_02: Um, there's you know, there's not a lot of uh clinical data out there right now in skincare.
- 29:45SPEAKER_02: You know what I mean?
- 29:46SPEAKER_02: Like there's not a lot of dermatology papers that are published.
- 29:49SPEAKER_02: But I one thing I do know is that when I so I did a paper back in the day with natural products, and olive oil was something that I was considering because it was showing antimicrobial properties.
- 30:02SPEAKER_02: And so um, when I was looking at it, I remember thinking, you know, this is very, very interesting because there are these certain oils.
- 30:10SPEAKER_02: I think coconut oil is also one of them, where they have this antimicrobial thing, you know, they're able to pull off some bacteria, especially like uh staph aureus, which is a huge one.
- 30:21SPEAKER_02: Um, and so the thing is we don't know enough about that, but it's worth trying, is my opinion.
- 30:28SPEAKER_02: You know what I mean?
- 30:29SPEAKER_02: So it's like till we can publish the data and the and the research, um, kind of in a way, we all have to become, you know, subjects to trying different things and seeing what works, right?
- 30:39SPEAKER_02: So I love that.
- 30:42SPEAKER_01: Yes, yes, I I agree with that.
- 30:45SPEAKER_01: Um, but there are also so many ingredients that are are proven and are shown to be not beneficial for the skin, and still you can find them in so many formulas.
- 30:58SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 30:59SPEAKER_01: So I guess it's a little bit how yeah, how you want to look at it, and and if you want to use a very natural product, or if you prefer to have a formula with more chemistry on it, which is also fine, it's up to the choice of the of the buyer.
- 31:15SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 31:16SPEAKER_02: So what about um hyperpigmentation and scarring?
- 31:19SPEAKER_02: Have you had any, do you have you ever had any friends that have that that have been trying your product?
- 31:23SPEAKER_02: Like any kind of hyperpigmentation or acne scarring?
- 31:28SPEAKER_01: Yes, definitely.
- 31:30SPEAKER_01: Uh that's why one of the ingredients is rose hip seed oil.
- 31:35SPEAKER_01: What I that I was commenting, it's also one of the ingredients in the concentrate balm.
- 31:41SPEAKER_01: Rose hip seed oil is perfect, it's the best oil against the scarring and marks on the skin.
- 31:48SPEAKER_01: And it's enriched with vitamin D3 and K2, which are also perfect for for scarring and trying to even out the tone of the skin.
- 31:59SPEAKER_01: So olive oil is better as a moisturizer and nourishing the skin.
- 32:05SPEAKER_01: And then all the add-ons that the formula has are to complement the few things that olive oil is uh kind of lacking, if you want to call it like that.
- 32:14SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 32:15SPEAKER_02: I I totally understand.
- 32:17SPEAKER_02: They work together, they have a synergistic effect.
- 32:19SPEAKER_02: That's interesting.
- 32:20SPEAKER_01: Totally.
- 32:21SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah, totally.
- 32:22SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 32:23SPEAKER_02: Well, that is that sounds amazing, honestly.
- 32:25SPEAKER_02: I'm I'm not even gonna lie to you.
