- 0:22SPEAKER_00: There are a lot of advantages to being an introverted writer.
- 0:26SPEAKER_00: For example, you enjoy being alone, which is a huge benefit when you're trying to finish your writing.
- 0:32SPEAKER_00: You'd mostly rather spend your time with books than with people, which can help you dive deeply into literature and learning.
- 0:38SPEAKER_00: You'd rather observe than participate, which can help you approach life like a journalist or researcher.
- 0:45SPEAKER_00: Now those same tendencies, as you know, can sometimes backfire, though.
- 0:49SPEAKER_00: Those same strengths that help you become a great writer can make it hard for you to build an audience, which is something that every writer must do.
- 0:57SPEAKER_00: So here are three quick tips for introverted writers on building an audience.
- 1:03SPEAKER_00: Number one, don't be afraid to put yourself and your writing out there.
- 1:08SPEAKER_00: You know, life is not all about observing others or writing about other people's experiences.
- 1:13SPEAKER_00: We want to hear what you've experienced and what you have to say about your topic.
- 1:18SPEAKER_00: Number two, get out there and have real conversations with actual people.
- 1:23SPEAKER_00: As introverts, we often live in our heads and we avoid life in the real world.
- 1:27SPEAKER_00: But this is where the action happens.
- 1:29SPEAKER_00: Don't think of people as exhausting.
- 1:31SPEAKER_00: Instead, think of them as your best teachers and the reason why you do what you do.
- 1:37SPEAKER_00: And then number three, don't overanalyze this process.
- 1:40SPEAKER_00: I wrote this one especially for myself.
- 1:43SPEAKER_00: Just start writing and course correct as you go.
- 1:46SPEAKER_00: You've got to let go of the need to be perfect and have everything all figured out.
- 1:50SPEAKER_00: Just relax, get to work, and know that you are intelligent and you're gonna figure it out as you go along.
- 1:56SPEAKER_00: You know, your greatest strength can also be your greatest weakness.
- 2:00SPEAKER_00: So don't get sucked into the lie that people are the enemy.
- 2:03SPEAKER_00: You're there to serve them, enjoy them, and learn from them.
- 2:07SPEAKER_00: So here's today's challenge.
- 2:08SPEAKER_00: Choose one of these three tips and put it into practice today.
- 2:12SPEAKER_00: Don't wait or overanalyze it.
