- 0:12- Welcome to the divine five one five pod
- 0:16- podcast. Here is this week's devotional.
- 0:19- Hello, and welcome to
- 0:22- daily prayers with Valerie Rocha.
- 0:25- Today, we're talking about
- 0:27- how to make room for what's next.
- 0:31- Scripture text comes from Isaiah forty three nineteen
- 0:34- and says, see, I am doing a new
- 0:37- thing.
- 0:38- Now it springs up.
- 0:40- Do you not perceive it?
- 0:44- Well,
- 0:45- you know, we often ask God for something
- 0:48- new while our hearts are still crowded with
- 0:50- what was.
- 0:54- Old disappointment,
- 0:56- old expectations,
- 0:58- old offenses,
- 1:00- old plans,
- 1:01- and
- 1:02- old fears.
- 1:07- We want the next season,
- 1:09- but we're still emotionally living in the previous
- 1:12- one.
- 1:16- The challenge is that empty space can feel
- 1:20- uncomfortable.
- 1:22- I mean, when we release something, we don't
- 1:24- always immediately know what will replace it.
- 1:29- I'm sure this drives minimalist absolutely crazy. Right?
- 1:33- I mean, that space requires trust,
- 1:37- but perhaps every empty space doesn't need to
- 1:40- be filled immediately.
- 1:43- Or maybe we're not feeling it with the
- 1:45- right things.
- 1:47- Sometimes God uses the space
- 1:50- to prepare us.
- 1:53- The power of prayer is that it isn't
- 1:55- only where we release.
- 1:58- It's also where we become
- 2:01- available.
- 2:03- After surrendering something to God, instead of immediately
- 2:06- asking what comes next,
- 2:08- take the time to sit quietly
- 2:12- with him.
- 2:15- Remember,
- 2:16- I always say God welcomes the conversation.
- 2:20- And if you
- 2:22- take the time to let him know that
- 2:24- you're available
- 2:26- and you want to know what he's doing
- 2:29- next,
- 2:31- you'll never be surprised.
- 2:34- It does require for you to listen,
- 2:37- to watch,
- 2:39- and to stay open.
- 2:42- Maybe god
- 2:44- might change your direction.
- 2:47- He may change your priorities,
- 2:50- or
- 2:52- he may begin by
- 2:54- just simply changing you.
- 2:57- That being said,
- 2:59- let's pray.
- 3:01- Heavenly father, we release what no longer belongs
- 3:04- in this season.
- 3:06- Clear the places in our heart that have
- 3:08- become crowded with yesterday.
- 3:12- Give us faith for what we cannot see
- 3:15- and make us ready for whatever you desire
- 3:18- to do next.
- 3:20- We trust your timing and your direction,
- 3:23- and we will bless you in Jesus' name.
- 3:28- As our October
- 3:29- devotionals
- 3:31- end,
- 3:32- we don't simply want to pick up everything
- 3:36- you've spent this month.
- 3:38- We wanna learn how to release it.
- 3:41- So
- 3:44- today's challenge is
- 3:46- to ask God, what do you want to
- 3:48- do with the room
- 3:49- I've made?
- 3:52- And remember,
- 3:55- sit quietly and allow him to reveal it.
- 3:59- Now the inner chamber is a place to
- 4:01- continue the journey
- 4:03- through intentional prayer,
- 4:04- biblical encouragement, and opportunities to deepen your prayer
- 4:08- life
- 4:08- alongside a Christ centered community.

- 4:18- And if letting go
- 4:21- has helped you this month, share the divine
- 4:23- five one five podcast with someone who's
- 4:26- ready to release the past and trust God
- 4:29- with what's next.
- 4:31- And remember, you don't have to carry everything
- 4:33- into your next season.
- 4:35- Some things belong in God's hands,
- 4:38- Some things belong in the past,
- 4:41- and some things must be released so your
- 4:43- hands are open for what comes next.
- 4:47- Either way,
- 4:49- lead the way with God
- 4:51- and
- 4:52- walk forward
- 4:53- lighter.
