  instead
• 0:45
  of
• 0:45
  feeling
• 0:45
  excited,
• 0:46
  they're
• 0:47
  stressed
• 0:47
  because
• 0:47
  their
• 0:48
  mom
• 0:48
  wants
• 0:48
  a

  they

  want
• 0:52
  to

  trying

  to

  future.
• 0:57
  So
• 0:57
  today
• 0:58
  the

• 0:58
  is,
• 0:59
  where's
• 0:59
  the
• 0:59
  line
• 1:00
  between
• 1:00
  helping
• 1:00
  your
• 1:00
  family
• 1:01
  and
• 1:02
  not
• 1:02
  losing
• 1:02
  yourself
• 1:03
  financially?
• 1:04
  We're
• 1:04
  going
• 1:04
  to
• 1:05
  break
• 1:05
  that
• 1:05
  down
• 1:05
  on
• 1:05
  today's
• 1:06
  show.
• 1:27
  Hello,
• 1:27
  friend.
• 1:28
  Ralph
• 1:28
  Estep
• 1:29
  Jr.
• 1:29
  Here.
• 1:30
  Welcome
• 1:30
  to
• 1:30
  Financially
• 1:31
  Confident
• 1:31
  Christian,
• 1:32
  where
• 1:32
  every
• 1:33
  day
• 1:33
  my
• 1:33
  goal
• 1:33
  is
• 1:34
  to
• 1:34
  help
• 1:34
  you
• 1:34
  break
• 1:34
  that
• 1:34
  cycle
• 1:35
  of
• 1:35
  financial
• 1:35
  shame
• 1:36
  and
• 1:37
  live
• 1:37
  with
• 1:37
  confidence.
• 1:39
  And
• 1:39
  we
• 1:39
  got
• 1:39
  a
• 1:40
  great
• 1:40
  voicemail
• 1:41
  message
• 1:41
  today.
• 1:42
  It's
• 1:43
  all
• 1:43
  about
• 1:43
  how
• 1:43
  to
• 1:43
  handle
• 1:44
  family
• 1:44
  pressure
• 1:45
  when
• 1:45
  your
• 1:45
  first
• 1:46
  paycheck
• 1:46
  already
• 1:47
  has
• 1:47
  expectations
• 1:48
  attached.
• 1:49
  Haven't
• 1:49
  even
• 1:49
  gotten
• 1:49
  the
• 1:49
  money
• 1:50
  yet,
• 1:50
  and
• 1:51
  somebody's
• 1:51
  already
• 1:51
  got
• 1:52
  their
• 1:52
  hand
• 1:52
  out.
• 1:52
  Well,
• 1:52
  let's
• 1:53
  get
• 1:53
  right
• 1:53
  to
• 1:53
  today's
• 1:54
  Fisner
• 1:55
  question.
• 1:56
  Ralph.
• 1:56
  I'm
• 1:57
  about
• 1:57
  to
• 1:57
  start
• 1:57
  my
• 1:57
  first
• 1:58
  job,
• 1:58
  and
• 1:58
  instead
• 1:58
  of
• 1:59
  feeling
• 1:59
  excited,
• 2:00
  I
• 2:00
  feel
• 2:00
  stressed.
• 2:01
  My
• 2:02
  mum
• 2:02
  is
• 2:02
  asking
• 2:02
  me
• 2:03
  to
• 2:03
  contribute
• 2:03
  a
• 2:03
  large
• 2:04
  part
• 2:04
  of
• 2:04
  my
• 2:04
  paycheck
• 2:05
  toward
• 2:05
  rent,
• 2:06
  and
• 2:06
  I
• 2:06
  don't
• 2:07
  know
• 2:07
  if
• 2:07
  it's
• 2:07
  reasonable
• 2:08
  or
• 2:08
  if
• 2:08
  I'm
• 2:08
  being
• 2:09
  selfish
• 2:09
  for
• 2:09
  struggling
• 2:10
  with
• 2:10
  it.
• 2:11
  I
• 2:11
  want
• 2:11
  to
• 2:11
  help
• 2:11
  my
• 2:12
  family,
• 2:12
  but
• 2:13
  I
• 2:13
  also
• 2:13
  hoped
• 2:14
  this
• 2:14
  job
• 2:14
  would
• 2:14
  help
• 2:14
  me
• 2:14
  save
• 2:15
  for
• 2:15
  college
• 2:15
  and
• 2:16
  start
• 2:16
  building
• 2:16
  my
• 2:17
  future.
• 2:18
  Now
• 2:18
  I
• 2:19
  feel
• 2:19
  torn
• 2:19
  between
• 2:20
  supporting
• 2:20
  my
• 2:20
  household
• 2:21
  and.
• 2:22
  And
• 2:22
  protecting
• 2:22
  my
• 2:23
  own
• 2:23
  goals.
• 2:24
  How
• 2:24
  do
• 2:25
  I
• 2:25
  navigate
• 2:25
  this
• 2:25
  in
• 2:26
  a
• 2:26
  way
• 2:26
  that's
• 2:26
  respectful,
• 2:27
  wise,
• 2:28
  and
• 2:29
  fair?
• 2:31
  You
• 2:31
  are
• 2:31
  in
• 2:31
  a
• 2:32
  tough
• 2:32
  spot,
• 2:32
  my
• 2:32
  friend.
• 2:33
  And
• 2:34
  I
• 2:34
  can
• 2:34
  sense
• 2:34
  the
• 2:35
  tension
• 2:35
  in
• 2:35
  your
• 2:35
  voice
• 2:37
  because
• 2:37
  I
• 2:37
  know
• 2:37
  what
• 2:38
  you're
• 2:38
  thinking.
• 2:39
  Helping
• 2:39
  your
• 2:39
  family
• 2:40
  matters.
• 2:41
  You
• 2:41
  want
• 2:41
  to
• 2:41
  do
• 2:41
  that.
• 2:42
  I
• 2:42
  bet
• 2:42
  there's
• 2:43
  a
• 2:43
  lot
• 2:43
  going
• 2:43
  on
• 2:43
  here.
• 2:44
  We
• 2:44
  can't
• 2:44
  get
• 2:44
  into
• 2:45
  all
• 2:45
  of
• 2:45
  it
• 2:45
  today.
• 2:46
  But
• 2:47
  wisdom
• 2:47
  also
• 2:48
  means
• 2:48
  supporting
• 2:49
  others
• 2:49
  without
• 2:49
  sacrificing
• 2:50
  your
• 2:51
  future
• 2:51
  entirely.
• 2:52
  You
• 2:52
  want
• 2:52
  to
• 2:52
  go
• 2:52
  to
• 2:52
  college,
• 2:53
  you
• 2:53
  want
• 2:53
  to
• 2:53
  do
• 2:53
  things,
• 2:54
  you
• 2:54
  got
• 2:54
  to
• 2:54
  figure
• 2:54
  out
• 2:55
  how
• 2:55
  to
• 2:55
  do
• 2:55
  that.
• 2:55
  So
• 2:55
  let
• 2:55
  me
• 2:55
  give
• 2:56
  you
• 2:56
  some
• 2:56
  guidance
• 2:56
  on
• 2:57
  how
• 2:57
  I
• 2:57
  would
• 2:57
  approach
• 2:58
  this.
• 2:59
  The
• 2:59
  first
• 2:59
  thing
• 2:59
  you've
• 2:59
  got
• 3:00
  to
• 3:00
  do
• 3:00
  is
• 3:00
  you've
• 3:00
  got
• 3:00
  to
• 3:01
  separate
• 3:01
  guilt
• 3:01
  from
• 3:02
  responsibility.
• 3:03
  What
• 3:03
  I
• 3:03
  hear
• 3:04
  in
• 3:04
  your
• 3:04
  voice
• 3:04
  is
• 3:05
  a
• 3:05
  huge
• 3:06
  feeling
• 3:06
  of
• 3:06
  guilt.
• 3:08
  And
• 3:08
  feeling
• 3:08
  guilty
• 3:09
  doesn't
• 3:09
  automatically
• 3:10
  mean
• 3:10
  you're
• 3:10
  wrong.
• 3:11
  A
• 3:11
  lot
• 3:11
  of
• 3:11
  people
• 3:11
  think,
• 3:12
  well,
• 3:12
  if
• 3:12
  I
• 3:12
  feel
• 3:13
  guilty
• 3:13
  about
• 3:13
  something,
• 3:14
  then
• 3:14
  I
• 3:14
  know
• 3:14
  I'm
• 3:15
  doing
• 3:15
  wrong
• 3:15
  things.
• 3:16
  I
• 3:16
  don't
• 3:17
  agree
• 3:17
  with
• 3:17
  that
• 3:17
  at
• 3:17
  all.
• 3:18
  Sometimes
• 3:19
  feeling
• 3:19
  guilty
• 3:19
  is
• 3:20
  just
• 3:20
  a
• 3:20
  stop
• 3:20
  sign
• 3:21
  to
• 3:21
  say,
• 3:21
  let
• 3:21
  me
• 3:21
  think
• 3:21
  about
• 3:22
  this.
• 3:23
  You
• 3:24
  want
• 3:24
  to
• 3:24
  build
• 3:24
  your
• 3:24
  own
• 3:24
  future.
• 3:25
  That's
• 3:25
  not
• 3:25
  being
• 3:26
  selfish.
• 3:27
  And
• 3:27
  you
• 3:28
  Want
• 3:28
  to
• 3:28
  help
• 3:28
  your
• 3:28
  family.
• 3:28
  Those
• 3:29
  two
• 3:29
  things
• 3:29
  are
• 3:29
  good.
• 3:30
  You've
• 3:30
  got
• 3:30
  two
• 3:31
  good
• 3:31
  things
• 3:31
  here,
• 3:32
  and
• 3:33
  both
• 3:33
  could
• 3:33
  be
• 3:33
  true
• 3:34
  at
• 3:34
  the
• 3:34
  same
• 3:35
  time.
• 3:36
  But
• 3:36
  in
• 3:36
  order
• 3:37
  to
• 3:37
  navigate
• 3:37
  this,
• 3:38
  I
• 3:38
  think
• 3:38
  we
• 3:38
  go
• 3:39
  a
• 3:39
  little
• 3:39
  deeper.
• 3:39
  We
• 3:40
  got
• 3:40
  to
• 3:40
  understand
• 3:40
  the
• 3:41
  actual
• 3:41
  household
• 3:42
  need.
• 3:43
  I
• 3:43
  suspect
• 3:44
  if
• 3:44
  you
• 3:44
  and
• 3:44
  I
• 3:44
  were
• 3:45
  dialoguing
• 3:45
  one
• 3:45
  on
• 3:45
  one.
• 3:46
  And
• 3:46
  listen,
• 3:46
  by
• 3:46
  the
• 3:46
  way,
• 3:46
  why
• 3:47
  I
• 3:47
  say
• 3:47
  that
• 3:47
  if
• 3:48
  you
• 3:48
  ever
• 3:48
  want
• 3:48
  to
• 3:48
  do
• 3:48
  that,
• 3:48
  you
• 3:49
  can
• 3:49
  go
• 3:49
  join
• 3:49
  our
• 3:49
  live
• 3:50
  show.
• 3:50
  We
• 3:50
  do
• 3:50
  a
• 3:50
  live
• 3:50
  show
• 3:51
  every
• 3:51
  Friday.
• 3:52
  It's
• 3:52
  at
• 3:52
  1pm
• 3:53
  Eastern
• 3:53
  Time
• 3:54
  at
• 3:54
  financiallyconfidentchristian.com
• 3:56
  FCCLive.
• 3:58
  You
• 3:58
  can
• 3:59
  come
• 3:59
  join
• 3:59
  me
• 3:59
  and
• 3:59
  we
• 3:59
  can
• 3:59
  talk
• 4:00
  through
• 4:00
  issues
• 4:00
  like
• 4:00
  this.
• 4:00
  But
• 4:01
  don't
• 4:01
  let
• 4:01
  me
• 4:01
  get
• 4:01
  sidetracked,
• 4:03
  but
• 4:03
  you
• 4:03
  gotta
• 4:03
  understand
• 4:04
  the
• 4:04
  actual
• 4:05
  household
• 4:05
  need
• 4:06
  here.
• 4:06
  What
• 4:07
  is
• 4:07
  the
• 4:07
  money
• 4:07
  that
• 4:07
  your
• 4:08
  mom
• 4:08
  is
• 4:08
  asking
• 4:09
  you
• 4:09
  for
• 4:09
  actually
• 4:09
  covering?
• 4:10
  You
• 4:10
  mentioned
• 4:11
  the
• 4:11
  word
• 4:11
  rent,
• 4:12
  but
• 4:12
  is
• 4:12
  it
• 4:13
  rent?
• 4:13
  Is
• 4:13
  utilities?
• 4:14
  Is
• 4:14
  it
• 4:15
  groceries?
• 4:15
  Is
• 4:16
  it
• 4:16
  your
• 4:16
  actual
• 4:17
  living
• 4:17
  expenses?
• 4:19
  And
• 4:19
  you
• 4:19
  got
• 4:19
  to
• 4:19
  understand
• 4:20
  if
• 4:20
  this
• 4:20
  is
• 4:20
  a
• 4:20
  true
• 4:21
  need
• 4:21
  or
• 4:21
  an
• 4:22
  assumed
• 4:22
  expectation.
• 4:24
  You
• 4:24
  need
• 4:24
  facts.
• 4:25
  I
• 4:25
  would
• 4:25
  say
• 4:25
  to
• 4:25
  your
• 4:26
  mother,
• 4:26
  listen,
• 4:26
  wait
• 4:26
  a
• 4:27
  second.
• 4:28
  What
• 4:28
  is
• 4:28
  the
• 4:29
  actual
• 4:29
  need
• 4:29
  here?
• 4:31
  Because
• 4:31
  maybe
• 4:31
  your
• 4:31
  mother's
• 4:32
  got
• 4:32
  some
• 4:32
  difficult
• 4:33
  financial
• 4:33
  decisions
• 4:34
  she
• 4:34
  needs
• 4:34
  to
• 4:34
  make.
• 4:34
  That's
• 4:35
  not
• 4:35
  your
• 4:35
  responsibility.
• 4:36
  But
• 4:37
  at
• 4:37
  the
• 4:37
  same
• 4:37
  time,
• 4:37
  if
• 4:38
  it's
• 4:38
  costing
• 4:38
  your
• 4:39
  mom
• 4:39
  more,
• 4:39
  if
• 4:40
  you're
• 4:40
  eating
• 4:40
  more,
• 4:40
  if
• 4:41
  the
• 4:41
  utilities
• 4:41
  are
• 4:42
  higher
• 4:42
  because
• 4:42
  you're
• 4:42
  living
• 4:43
  there,
• 4:43
  then
• 4:43
  I
• 4:43
  think
• 4:43
  it's
• 4:44
  only
• 4:44
  fair
• 4:44
  to
• 4:45
  consider
• 4:45
  this.
• 4:46
  It's
• 4:46
  different
• 4:46
  if
• 4:47
  you
• 4:47
  didn't
• 4:47
  have
• 4:47
  a
• 4:47
  job.
• 4:48
  It's
• 4:48
  different
• 4:48
  if
• 4:49
  you
• 4:49
  were
• 4:49
  disabled,
• 4:50
  if
• 4:50
  you
• 4:50
  weren't
• 4:50
  able
• 4:50
  to
• 4:51
  provide.
• 4:51
  So
• 4:51
  you
• 4:51
  got
• 4:52
  to
• 4:52
  come
• 4:52
  to
• 4:52
  a
• 4:52
  place
• 4:52
  where
• 4:53
  you
• 4:53
  got
• 4:53
  to
• 4:53
  have
• 4:54
  facts,
• 4:55
  but
• 4:55
  you've
• 4:55
  also
• 4:56
  got
• 4:56
  to
• 4:56
  decide
• 4:56
  what
• 4:56
  support
• 4:57
  is
• 4:57
  sustainable.
• 4:58
  This
• 4:59
  isn't
• 4:59
  a
• 4:59
  time
• 4:59
  to
• 4:59
  just
• 4:59
  throw
• 5:00
  your
• 5:00
  hands,
• 5:00
  whatever,
• 5:00
  Mom.
• 5:01
  I'll
• 5:01
  give
• 5:01
  you
• 5:01
  what
• 5:01
  you
• 5:01
  want
• 5:01
  because
• 5:01
  it's
• 5:02
  really
• 5:02
  easy
• 5:02
  to
• 5:02
  do
• 5:02
  that.
• 5:03
  Be
• 5:03
  real
• 5:03
  simple
• 5:03
  to
• 5:03
  say,
• 5:04
  whatever,
• 5:04
  whatever,
• 5:05
  Mom.
• 5:05
  I
• 5:05
  just
• 5:05
  don't
• 5:05
  want
• 5:05
  to
• 5:06
  listen
• 5:06
  to
• 5:06
  you
• 5:06
  right
• 5:06
  now.
• 5:07
  So
• 5:07
  you
• 5:07
  got
• 5:08
  to
• 5:08
  commit
• 5:08
  intentionally.
• 5:09
  Think
• 5:10
  through
• 5:10
  this.
• 5:10
  Choose
• 5:11
  an
• 5:11
  amount
• 5:11
  that
• 5:11
  you
• 5:11
  can
• 5:12
  help
• 5:12
  with,
• 5:13
  but
• 5:13
  also
• 5:13
  leave
• 5:14
  room
• 5:14
  for
• 5:14
  savings
• 5:14
  and
• 5:15
  your
• 5:15
  future
• 5:15
  goals.
• 5:16
  That
• 5:17
  support
• 5:17
  should
• 5:17
  be
• 5:17
  meaningful,
• 5:18
  not
• 5:18
  crushing
• 5:19
  to
• 5:19
  you.
• 5:19
  I
• 5:19
  see
• 5:20
  so
• 5:20
  many
• 5:20
  young
• 5:20
  people
• 5:21
  that
• 5:21
  go
• 5:21
  into
• 5:21
  this.
• 5:22
  I
• 5:22
  really
• 5:22
  want
• 5:22
  to
• 5:22
  help
• 5:23
  mom,
• 5:24
  because
• 5:24
  maybe
• 5:24
  mom
• 5:25
  struggled.
• 5:25
  I've
• 5:25
  told
• 5:25
  you
• 5:26
  on
• 5:26
  the
• 5:26
  show
• 5:26
  my
• 5:27
  mom
• 5:27
  struggled,
• 5:28
  but
• 5:28
  my
• 5:28
  mom
• 5:29
  never
• 5:29
  said
• 5:29
  to
• 5:29
  me,
• 5:29
  hey,
• 5:29
  can
• 5:30
  you
• 5:30
  pitch
• 5:30
  in
• 5:30
  a
• 5:30
  little
• 5:30
  bit
• 5:31
  here?
• 5:31
  Now,
• 5:31
  truth
• 5:31
  is,
• 5:32
  once
• 5:32
  I
• 5:32
  was
• 5:32
  done
• 5:33
  college,
• 5:33
  I
• 5:33
  moved
• 5:33
  out
• 5:33
  on
• 5:34
  my
• 5:34
  own,
• 5:34
  so
• 5:34
  I
• 5:34
  didn't
• 5:34
  really
• 5:35
  have
• 5:35
  this
• 5:35
  situation.
• 5:36
  Yours
• 5:36
  is
• 5:36
  a
• 5:36
  different
• 5:37
  situation
• 5:37
  than
• 5:37
  that.
• 5:38
  But
• 5:38
  you've
• 5:39
  got
• 5:39
  to
• 5:39
  have
• 5:39
  an
• 5:39
  honest
• 5:40
  conversation.
• 5:41
  Be
• 5:42
  respectful,
• 5:43
  be
• 5:43
  direct.
• 5:44
  Explain
• 5:44
  your
• 5:45
  goals
• 5:45
  to
• 5:45
  your
• 5:45
  mother,
• 5:46
  communicate
• 5:47
  what
• 5:47
  you
• 5:47
  can
• 5:47
  contribute
• 5:48
  and
• 5:49
  speak
• 5:49
  with
• 5:49
  gratitude.
• 5:49
  Hey,
• 5:50
  I
• 5:50
  suspect
• 5:51
  your
• 5:51
  mom
• 5:51
  has
• 5:52
  always
• 5:52
  provided
• 5:53
  for
• 5:53
  you,
• 5:54
  so
• 5:54
  be
• 5:54
  grateful
• 5:55
  for
• 5:55
  that.
• 5:55
  Don't
• 5:55
  be
• 5:55
  defensive
• 5:56
  about
• 5:56
  it,
• 5:56
  but
• 5:56
  really
• 5:57
  understand
• 5:57
  what
• 5:57
  your
• 5:58
  mother
• 5:58
  is
• 5:58
  asking.
• 5:59
  Understand
• 5:59
  where
• 6:00
  she's
• 6:00
  coming
• 6:00
  from
• 6:01
  and
• 6:01
  make
• 6:01
  sure
• 6:01
  you're
• 6:02
  doing
• 6:02
  the
• 6:02
  things
• 6:02
  that
• 6:02
  are
• 6:03
  important
• 6:03
  for
• 6:03
  you.
• 6:03
  Because.
• 6:04
  Because
• 6:04
  you've
• 6:04
  got
• 6:04
  to
• 6:04
  build
• 6:05
  your
• 6:05
  own
• 6:05
  foundation
• 6:06
  while
• 6:06
  you
• 6:06
  help
• 6:07
  out.
• 6:08
  Saving
• 6:08
  something,
• 6:09
  even
• 6:09
  if
• 6:09
  it's
• 6:09
  small,
• 6:10
  is
• 6:10
  going
• 6:10
  to
• 6:10
  help
• 6:10
  you
• 6:11
  protect
• 6:11
  your
• 6:11
  ability
• 6:11
  to
• 6:12
  move
• 6:12
  forward.
• 6:13
  I
• 6:13
  want
• 6:13
  you
• 6:13
  to
• 6:13
  go
• 6:14
  to
• 6:14
  college.
• 6:14
  I
• 6:14
  want
• 6:14
  you
• 6:15
  to
• 6:15
  plan
• 6:15
  for
• 6:15
  the
• 6:15
  future.
• 6:17
  Supporting
• 6:17
  your
• 6:18
  family
• 6:18
  shouldn't
• 6:19
  permanently
• 6:19
  stall
• 6:19
  your
• 6:20
  life.
• 6:21
  And
• 6:21
  it's
• 6:21
  so
• 6:21
  easy
• 6:22
  for
• 6:22
  that
• 6:22
  to
• 6:22
  happen.
• 6:23
  If
• 6:23
  you
• 6:23
  don't
• 6:23
  get
• 6:23
  the
• 6:24
  facts,
• 6:24
  you
• 6:24
  don't
• 6:25
  have
• 6:25
  a
• 6:25
  clear,
• 6:25
  respectful
• 6:26
  conversation.
• 6:26
  This
• 6:27
  isn't
• 6:27
  time
• 6:27
  to
• 6:27
  have
• 6:27
  a
• 6:28
  shouting
• 6:28
  match.
• 6:28
  This
• 6:29
  isn't
• 6:29
  time
• 6:29
  to
• 6:29
  scream
• 6:30
  at
• 6:30
  each
• 6:30
  other.
• 6:30
  This
• 6:31
  isn't
• 6:31
  time.
• 6:31
  Find
• 6:32
  a
• 6:32
  time
• 6:32
  when
• 6:32
  you.
• 6:32
  When
• 6:32
  everybody's
• 6:33
  calm
• 6:34
  and
• 6:34
  sit
• 6:34
  down
• 6:34
  and
• 6:34
  talk
• 6:35
  about
• 6:35
  this,
• 6:35
  say
• 6:35
  to
• 6:36
  your
• 6:36
  mom,
• 6:36
  listen,
• 6:36
  you
• 6:36
  want
• 6:37
  me
• 6:37
  to
• 6:37
  support?
• 6:37
  You
• 6:37
  want
• 6:37
  me
• 6:38
  to
• 6:38
  help?
• 6:38
  Let's
• 6:38
  look
• 6:39
  at
• 6:39
  the
• 6:39
  numbers,
• 6:39
  because
• 6:40
  maybe
• 6:40
  you
• 6:40
  can
• 6:41
  provide
• 6:41
  your
• 6:41
  mom
• 6:41
  with
• 6:42
  some
• 6:42
  ideas
• 6:42
  that
• 6:42
  she
• 6:42
  wouldn't
• 6:43
  have
• 6:43
  thought
• 6:43
  of.
• 6:43
  Maybe
• 6:44
  there's
• 6:44
  some
• 6:44
  ways
• 6:44
  to
• 6:44
  save
• 6:45
  money.
• 6:45
  You
• 6:45
  guys
• 6:46
  can
• 6:46
  work
• 6:46
  together
• 6:46
  at
• 6:47
  this,
• 6:47
  and
• 6:47
  in
• 6:47
  the
• 6:48
  end,
• 6:48
  everybody
• 6:49
  benefits.
• 6:50
  But
• 6:50
  I
• 6:50
  want
• 6:50
  to
• 6:50
  take
• 6:51
  this
• 6:51
  a
• 6:51
  little
• 6:51
  deeper,
• 6:52
  because
• 6:52
  part
• 6:53
  of
• 6:53
  what
• 6:53
  hurts
• 6:53
  here
• 6:53
  is
• 6:54
  feeling
• 6:54
  like
• 6:54
  that
• 6:54
  no
• 6:55
  matter
• 6:55
  what
• 6:55
  you
• 6:55
  choose,
• 6:56
  someone
• 6:56
  loses.
• 6:57
  I
• 6:58
  hear
• 6:58
  that
• 6:58
  in
• 6:58
  your
• 6:58
  voice.
• 6:59
  You're
• 6:59
  like,
• 6:59
  well,
• 6:59
  Ralph,
• 7:00
  if
• 7:00
  I
• 7:00
  help
• 7:00
  her,
• 7:01
  then
• 7:01
  I
• 7:01
  can't
• 7:01
  save
• 7:01
  money.
• 7:02
  But
• 7:02
  if
• 7:02
  I
• 7:02
  don't
• 7:03
  help
• 7:03
  her,
• 7:03
  my
• 7:03
  mom's
• 7:04
  going
• 7:04
  to
• 7:04
  struggle.
• 7:06
  I
• 7:06
  can
• 7:06
  get
• 7:06
  that
• 7:08
  you
• 7:08
  feel
• 7:08
  selfish
• 7:09
  about
• 7:09
  this,
• 7:10
  but
• 7:11
  if
• 7:11
  you
• 7:11
  give
• 7:11
  too
• 7:11
  much,
• 7:12
  your
• 7:13
  future
• 7:13
  slips
• 7:13
  away
• 7:14
  as
• 7:14
  well.
• 7:15
  And
• 7:15
  that
• 7:15
  can
• 7:15
  make
• 7:15
  you
• 7:16
  feel
• 7:16
  trapped.
• 7:18
  But
• 7:18
  this
• 7:18
  isn't
• 7:18
  how
• 7:19
  God
• 7:19
  sees
• 7:19
  you.
• 7:20
  He
• 7:21
  doesn't
• 7:21
  ask
• 7:21
  you
• 7:22
  to
• 7:22
  abandon
• 7:22
  wisdom
• 7:23
  to
• 7:23
  offer
• 7:23
  in
• 7:24
  order
• 7:24
  to
• 7:24
  provide
• 7:25
  love.
• 7:26
  So
• 7:27
  it's
• 7:27
  real
• 7:27
  easy
• 7:27
  for
• 7:27
  us
• 7:27
  to
• 7:27
  talk
• 7:28
  about
• 7:28
  numbers
• 7:28
  and
• 7:28
  meetings,
• 7:29
  but
• 7:29
  maybe
• 7:29
  the
• 7:29
  best
• 7:30
  choice
• 7:30
  here
• 7:30
  is
• 7:31
  just
• 7:31
  to
• 7:31
  take
• 7:31
  it
• 7:31
  to
• 7:31
  God
• 7:32
  and
• 7:32
  say,
• 7:32
  listen,
• 7:32
  I
• 7:32
  want
• 7:33
  to
• 7:33
  honor
• 7:33
  my
• 7:33
  mother.
• 7:34
  I
• 7:34
  want
• 7:34
  to
• 7:34
  honor
• 7:35
  my
• 7:35
  family,
• 7:36
  but
• 7:36
  I
• 7:36
  also
• 7:37
  need
• 7:37
  to
• 7:37
  build
• 7:37
  my
• 7:37
  future.
• 7:39
  Because
• 7:39
  I'm
• 7:39
  going
• 7:39
  to
• 7:39
  tell
• 7:39
  you
• 7:39
  right
• 7:40
  now,
• 7:40
  God
• 7:40
  will
• 7:40
  speak
• 7:40
  to
• 7:40
  you
• 7:40
  and
• 7:41
  he
• 7:41
  will
• 7:41
  show
• 7:41
  you
• 7:41
  a
• 7:41
  way
• 7:42
  forward
• 7:42
  in
• 7:42
  this.
• 7:43
  Because
• 7:44
  you
• 7:44
  can
• 7:44
  be
• 7:45
  generous
• 7:45
  and
• 7:45
  you
• 7:46
  can
• 7:46
  be
• 7:46
  wise
• 7:46
  at
• 7:47
  the
• 7:47
  same
• 7:47
  time.
• 7:47
  These
• 7:48
  things
• 7:48
  aren't
• 7:48
  mutually
• 7:48
  exclusive.
• 7:49
  You
• 7:49
  can
• 7:49
  do
• 7:49
  both
• 7:50
  of
• 7:50
  those.
• 7:51
  So
• 7:51
  here's
• 7:51
  your
• 7:52
  win
• 7:52
  for
• 7:52
  today.
• 7:52
  I
• 7:53
  want
• 7:53
  you
• 7:53
  to
• 7:53
  write
• 7:53
  down
• 7:53
  your
• 7:54
  expected
• 7:54
  monthly
• 7:55
  paycheck.
• 7:55
  I'm
• 7:55
  talking
• 7:55
  about
• 7:56
  what
• 7:56
  you're
• 7:56
  going
• 7:56
  to
• 7:56
  bring
• 7:56
  home.
• 7:57
  And
• 7:58
  you
• 7:58
  might
• 7:58
  not
• 7:58
  know
• 7:58
  what
• 7:58
  that
• 7:58
  is
• 7:58
  yet.
• 7:59
  So
• 7:59
  you
• 7:59
  might
• 7:59
  have
• 7:59
  to
• 7:59
  have
• 7:59
  this
• 8:00
  conversation
• 8:00
  with
• 8:00
  your
• 8:00
  mom
• 8:00
  and
• 8:01
  say,
• 8:01
  let's
• 8:01
  talk
• 8:01
  about
• 8:02
  this
• 8:02
  once
• 8:02
  I
• 8:03
  get
• 8:03
  my
• 8:03
  first
• 8:03
  paycheck
• 8:04
  or
• 8:04
  once
• 8:04
  I
• 8:04
  get
• 8:04
  my
• 8:05
  second
• 8:05
  or
• 8:05
  third
• 8:05
  paycheck.
• 8:06
  So
• 8:06
  you
• 8:06
  can
• 8:06
  look
• 8:06
  at,
• 8:07
  write
• 8:07
  down,
• 8:07
  and
• 8:07
  then
• 8:08
  write
• 8:08
  down
• 8:08
  an
• 8:08
  amount
• 8:08
  you
• 8:09
  believe
• 8:09
  you
• 8:09
  can
• 8:09
  contribute
• 8:10
  sustainably.
• 8:11
  That's
• 8:11
  going
• 8:11
  to
• 8:11
  allow
• 8:11
  you
• 8:12
  to
• 8:12
  do
• 8:12
  what
• 8:12
  you
• 8:12
  need
• 8:12
  to
• 8:13
  do
• 8:13
  and
• 8:13
  also
• 8:14
  contribute
• 8:14
  to
• 8:14
  your
• 8:15
  mom
• 8:15
  and
• 8:15
  let
• 8:16
  that
• 8:16
  number
• 8:16
  guide
• 8:16
  the
• 8:17
  conversation.
• 8:18
  But
• 8:18
  you
• 8:18
  need
• 8:18
  facts.
• 8:20
  It's
• 8:20
  so
• 8:20
  easy
• 8:21
  to
• 8:21
  get
• 8:21
  stuck
• 8:21
  in
• 8:22
  the
• 8:22
  quagmire
• 8:23
  of
• 8:23
  emotions
• 8:23
  with
• 8:23
  this,
• 8:24
  because
• 8:25
  maybe
• 8:25
  your
• 8:25
  mom
• 8:25
  has
• 8:26
  a
• 8:26
  genuine
• 8:26
  need.
• 8:27
  Maybe
• 8:27
  she
• 8:27
  is
• 8:28
  really
• 8:28
  struggling,
• 8:29
  but
• 8:29
  at
• 8:29
  the
• 8:30
  same
• 8:30
  time,
• 8:30
  maybe
• 8:31
  she
• 8:31
  just
• 8:31
  needs
• 8:31
  to
• 8:32
  be
• 8:32
  guided
• 8:32
  and
• 8:33
  have
• 8:33
  some
• 8:33
  concern
• 8:34
  and
• 8:34
  care
• 8:34
  and
• 8:34
  realize
• 8:35
  that
• 8:35
  you
• 8:35
  respect
• 8:35
  her.
• 8:36
  Because
• 8:36
  that's
• 8:36
  what
• 8:36
  this
• 8:36
  whole
• 8:36
  thing
• 8:36
  could
• 8:37
  be.
• 8:37
  Honestly,
• 8:37
  this
• 8:38
  could
• 8:38
  be
• 8:38
  your
• 8:38
  mom
• 8:38
  reaching
• 8:39
  out
• 8:39
  and
• 8:39
  say,
• 8:39
  I
• 8:39
  want
• 8:40
  you
• 8:40
  to
• 8:40
  respect
• 8:40
  me.
• 8:41
  If
• 8:41
  you
• 8:41
  have
• 8:41
  that
• 8:41
  conversation
• 8:42
  and
• 8:43
  you're
• 8:43
  doing
• 8:43
  something,
• 8:44
  I'll
• 8:44
  give
• 8:45
  you
• 8:45
  an
• 8:45
  example
• 8:45
  of
• 8:45
  this.
• 8:45
  My
• 8:45
  dad
• 8:46
  actually
• 8:46
  did
• 8:46
  this
• 8:46
  for
• 8:46
  me
• 8:46
  when
• 8:46
  I
• 8:47
  moved
• 8:47
  in
• 8:47
  with
• 8:47
  him.
• 8:47
  At
• 8:47
  one
• 8:47
  point
• 8:48
  when
• 8:48
  I
• 8:48
  graduated
• 8:49
  college,
• 8:49
  he
• 8:50
  said,
• 8:50
  if
• 8:50
  you're
• 8:50
  going
• 8:50
  to
• 8:50
  come
• 8:51
  live
• 8:51
  here,
• 8:51
  you're
• 8:52
  going
• 8:52
  to
• 8:52
  have
• 8:52
  to
• 8:52
  pay
• 8:52
  rent.
• 8:53
  And
• 8:54
  at
• 8:54
  the
• 8:54
  time,
• 8:54
  I
• 8:54
  was
• 8:54
  like,
• 8:54
  well,
• 8:54
  that
• 8:55
  kind
• 8:55
  of
• 8:55
  sucks.
• 8:55
  You
• 8:55
  got
• 8:55
  plenty
• 8:56
  of
• 8:56
  money.
• 8:56
  Why
• 8:56
  are
• 8:56
  you
• 8:56
  doing
• 8:57
  that?
• 8:57
  Well,
• 8:57
  I
• 8:57
  lived
• 8:58
  there
• 8:58
  for
• 8:58
  about
• 8:58
  two
• 8:58
  years,
• 8:58
  and
• 8:59
  I
• 8:59
  went
• 8:59
  to
• 8:59
  buy
• 8:59
  a
• 8:59
  house.
• 8:59
  And
• 8:59
  he
• 8:59
  goes,
• 9:00
  well,
• 9:00
  just
• 9:00
  so
• 9:00
  you
• 9:00
  understand,
• 9:01
  son,
• 9:01
  paying
• 9:02
  rent
• 9:02
  wasn't
• 9:02
  about
• 9:02
  paying
• 9:03
  me.
• 9:03
  He
• 9:03
  says,
• 9:03
  I
• 9:03
  put
• 9:03
  all
• 9:04
  that
• 9:04
  money
• 9:04
  aside
• 9:04
  for
• 9:05
  you.
• 9:05
  So
• 9:06
  it
• 9:06
  was
• 9:06
  an
• 9:06
  amazing
• 9:06
  thing.
• 9:06
  Like
• 9:07
  when
• 9:07
  I
• 9:07
  went
• 9:07
  to
• 9:07
  buy
• 9:07
  this
• 9:07
  house,
• 9:08
  my
• 9:08
  dad's
• 9:08
  like,
• 9:08
  you've
• 9:08
  got
• 9:08
  $20,000
• 9:09
  for
• 9:09
  a
• 9:10
  down
• 9:10
  payment.
• 9:11
  That
• 9:11
  might
• 9:11
  be
• 9:11
  what
• 9:11
  your
• 9:11
  mom
• 9:12
  is
• 9:12
  thinking
• 9:12
  as
• 9:12
  well.
• 9:13
  Have
• 9:13
  that
• 9:13
  conversation,
• 9:14
  though.
• 9:15
  Let's
• 9:15
  get
• 9:15
  to
• 9:15
  the
• 9:16
  book.
• 9:16
  Let's
• 9:16
  get
• 9:16
  to
• 9:16
  the
• 9:16
  Bible
• 9:17
  today.
• 9:17
  I
• 9:17
  say
• 9:17
  the
• 9:18
  book,
• 9:18
  but
• 9:18
  let's
• 9:18
  get
• 9:18
  to
• 9:18
  the
• 9:18
  big
• 9:19
  book,
• 9:19
  right?
• 9:19
  We're
• 9:20
  going
• 9:20
  to
• 9:20
  go
• 9:20
  to
• 9:20
  Proverbs,
• 9:21
  chapter
• 9:21
  19,
• 9:21
  verse
• 9:22
  20.
• 9:23
  It
• 9:23
  says,
• 9:23
  Listen
• 9:24
  to
• 9:24
  advice
• 9:24
  and
• 9:25
  accept
• 9:25
  discipline,
• 9:26
  and
• 9:26
  at
• 9:27
  the
• 9:27
  end,
• 9:27
  you'll
• 9:27
  be
• 9:27
  counted
• 9:28
  among
• 9:28
  the
• 9:28
  wise.
• 9:30
  Wise
• 9:31
  financial
• 9:31
  decisions
• 9:32
  often
• 9:33
  require
• 9:33
  slowing
• 9:34
  down,
• 9:35
  seeking
• 9:35
  perspective
• 9:37
  and
• 9:37
  thinking
• 9:37
  beyond
• 9:38
  that
• 9:38
  immediate
• 9:38
  pressure.
• 9:39
  And
• 9:39
  the
• 9:39
  Bible
• 9:39
  verse
• 9:39
  tells
• 9:40
  us
• 9:40
  that,
• 9:41
  I
• 9:41
  don't
• 9:41
  know
• 9:41
  about
• 9:41
  you,
• 9:41
  but
• 9:41
  I
• 9:42
  want
• 9:42
  to
• 9:42
  be
• 9:42
  counted
• 9:42
  as
• 9:43
  wise.
• 9:44
  Let's
• 9:44
  pray
• 9:44
  together.
• 9:45
  Heavenly
• 9:46
  Father,
• 9:46
  I
• 9:47
  lift
• 9:47
  up
• 9:47
  the
• 9:47
  person
• 9:48
  carrying
• 9:48
  this
• 9:48
  tension
• 9:49
  right
• 9:49
  now.
• 9:50
  You
• 9:50
  see
• 9:50
  their
• 9:51
  heart
• 9:51
  to
• 9:51
  help.
• 9:52
  You
• 9:52
  see
• 9:52
  their
• 9:53
  desire
• 9:53
  to
• 9:53
  honor
• 9:53
  their
• 9:54
  family
• 9:54
  and
• 9:55
  Lord,
• 9:55
  you
• 9:55
  see
• 9:55
  the
• 9:55
  pressure
• 9:56
  they
• 9:56
  feel
• 9:56
  about
• 9:57
  their
• 9:57
  future.
• 9:58
  And
• 9:58
  right
• 9:58
  at
• 9:59
  this
• 9:59
  moment,
• 9:59
  I
• 9:59
  just
• 9:59
  ask
• 10:00
  that
• 10:00
  you
• 10:00
  would
• 10:00
  give
• 10:00
  them
• 10:01
  wisdom
• 10:01
  as
• 10:01
  they
• 10:01
  navigate
• 10:02
  this
• 10:02
  conversation.
• 10:04
  Help
• 10:04
  them
• 10:04
  be
• 10:04
  generous
• 10:05
  without
• 10:05
  guilt
• 10:06
  and
• 10:06
  to
• 10:06
  be
• 10:06
  honest
• 10:07
  without
• 10:07
  fear
• 10:08
  and
• 10:08
  to
• 10:09
  be
• 10:09
  thoughtful
• 10:09
  in
• 10:09
  what
• 10:10
  they
• 10:10
  commit
• 10:10
  to
• 10:11
  provide
• 10:12
  for
• 10:12
  their
• 10:12
  household.
• 10:12
  Like
• 10:13
  you,
• 10:13
  only
• 10:13
  you
• 10:13
  can
• 10:13
  do.
• 10:14
  Lord.
• 10:14
  Guide
• 10:14
  their
• 10:14
  steps
• 10:16
  and
• 10:16
  remind
• 10:16
  them
• 10:16
  that
• 10:17
  honoring
• 10:17
  others
• 10:17
  doesn't
• 10:18
  require
• 10:18
  abandoning
• 10:19
  wisdom.
• 10:20
  Lead
• 10:21
  them
• 10:21
  with
• 10:21
  peace
• 10:21
  as
• 10:21
  they
• 10:22
  make
• 10:22
  decisions,
• 10:22
  Lord,
• 10:22
  and
• 10:23
  we
• 10:23
  ask
• 10:23
  this
• 10:23
  in
• 10:24
  Jesus
• 10:24
  name.
• 10:25
  Amen,
• 10:27
  friend.
• 10:27
  As
• 10:27
  I've
• 10:28
  said
• 10:28
  a
• 10:28
  couple
• 10:28
  times,
• 10:29
  helping
• 10:30
  your
• 10:30
  family
• 10:30
  and
• 10:30
  building
• 10:31
  your
• 10:31
  future
• 10:32
  don't
• 10:32
  have
• 10:32
  to
• 10:32
  be
• 10:33
  competition.
• 10:34
  There
• 10:34
  is
• 10:35
  a
• 10:35
  balance
• 10:35
  here.
• 10:36
  If
• 10:36
  you've
• 10:37
  got
• 10:37
  a
• 10:37
  question,
• 10:37
  maybe
• 10:38
  you're
• 10:38
  navigating
• 10:38
  tension
• 10:39
  just
• 10:39
  like
• 10:39
  this,
• 10:40
  whether
• 10:40
  it's
• 10:40
  with
• 10:40
  your
• 10:41
  parents
• 10:41
  or
• 10:41
  siblings
• 10:42
  or
• 10:42
  maybe
• 10:42
  even
• 10:43
  your
• 10:43
  extended
• 10:43
  family,
• 10:44
  I
• 10:44
  want
• 10:45
  to
• 10:45
  hear
• 10:45
  from
• 10:45
  you.
• 10:46
  You
• 10:46
  can
• 10:46
  send
• 10:46
  me
• 10:47
  a
• 10:47
  message
• 10:47
  with
• 10:47
  your
• 10:47
  situation
• 10:48
  and
• 10:48
  let's
• 10:48
  work
• 10:49
  through
• 10:49
  it
• 10:49
  together.
• 10:50
  You
• 10:50
  can
• 10:50
  do
• 10:50
  that
• 10:50
  by
• 10:50
  going
• 10:51
  to
• 10:51
  financiallyconfidentchristian.com/question
• 10:55
  We'll
• 10:55
  put
• 10:56
  a
• 10:56
  link
• 10:56
  in
• 10:56
  the
• 10:56
  show
• 10:56
  notes,
• 10:56
  but
• 10:57
  again,
• 10:57
  that's
• 10:57
  financiallyconfidentchristian.com/question
• 11:01
  Thank
• 11:02
  you
• 11:02
  so
• 11:02
  much
• 11:02
  for
• 11:02
  joining
• 11:03
  me
• 11:03
  today.
• 11:03
  Thank
• 11:03
  you
• 11:03
  so
• 11:03
  much
• 11:04
  for
• 11:04
  these
• 11:04
  questions.
• 11:05
  I
• 11:05
  feel
• 11:05
  like
• 11:05
  this
• 11:06
  week
• 11:06
  we've
• 11:06
  gotten
• 11:06
  into
• 11:06
  some
• 11:07
  really
• 11:07
  deep
