- 0:26Speaker 2: you don't.
- 0:26Speaker 3: Know, yes, personnel, you got me.
- 0:30Speaker 2: They have this new thing in the NFL where where
- 0:32Speaker 2: you have to look at something it's biometric and it
- 0:34Speaker 2: scans your face. You know.
- 0:36Speaker 3: We'll try to use the face scanner that you know
- 0:38Speaker 3: might be not and they're like, where.
- 0:40Speaker 4: Do I put my face? I'm like, just stand in
- 0:42Speaker 4: front of me, Like it's not that hard, but it works.
- 0:44Speaker 4: Themes how many times the show he makes fun of
- 0:46Speaker 4: me I might have been a certain someone.
- 0:49Speaker 2: When you know what, they would blame nine to eleven
- 0:52Speaker 2: for all of it. This is when it started.
- 0:54Speaker 4: Nine to eleven happened, and then thirty years later we
- 0:57Speaker 4: decided to have facial run.
- 0:58Speaker 2: But we'll see what happens. We'll get Evan's picks post mortem.
- 1:02Speaker 1: Make sure he puts them in before the Thursday night
- 1:04Speaker 1: came as well.
- 1:06Speaker 4: Try. I mean, he sends them to me. Don't do
- 1:10Speaker 4: not call in to question the integrity of the picks.
- 1:13Speaker 2: Want to be the best. You gotta beat the best, Paul, Yeah, right,
- 1:16Speaker 2: you can't be losing at all. This is Patriots Unfiltered.

- 1:35Speaker 5: Four to row, Baby, get tues yet, it's nottty close.
- 1:40Speaker 5: I sick of the twelve I want to get back
- 1:42Speaker 5: to thirteen win seasons. All right, we don't know more
- 1:44Speaker 5: of this twelve win stuff. Let's get to thirteen on.
- 1:46Speaker 2: Top of the AFC East, second best record in the AFC. Patriots,
- 1:51Speaker 2: let's go, baby.
- 1:54Speaker 4: You get a fresh cut there, Freddy?
- 1:55Speaker 2: I did. Yeah, yeah, jail barber down here in.
- 1:57Speaker 4: Five Morning Street, you get fresh cuts? Look ye coming up?
- 2:02Speaker 1: We didn't.
- 2:03Speaker 2: I didn't notice it's going there. I heard Rabel's been
- 2:06Speaker 2: in there.
- 2:06Speaker 4: I might have heard that as well.
- 2:08Speaker 3: Yeah, yep, might have heard that from a little birdie
- 2:10Speaker 3: to g.
- 2:13Speaker 2: L barber down in Foxborough.
- 2:15Speaker 5: They did, they know, they know who Evan is. They
- 2:18Speaker 5: give Evan. They they kne who you were, They knew
- 2:21Speaker 5: the boss man.
- 2:22Speaker 2: He said, how's how's my friend Evan?
- 2:25Speaker 4: He's probably like it's been like three or four weeks.
- 2:27Speaker 4: Where is he?
- 2:28Speaker 2: You know, he's doing good? I said, he's working hard,
- 2:32Speaker 2: working hard time.
- 2:33Speaker 1: Three road games in a row, hard to get over there.
- 2:36Speaker 2: So but enough of the barber shop talk. Let's go
- 2:40Speaker 2: to the Patriots. We need to talk about this game
- 2:44Speaker 2: and what we learned, what we should be excited about. Yes,
- 2:48Speaker 2: what are the things that could hurt them down the road.
- 2:53Speaker 2: You know, we talk about it all here, We talk
- 2:55Speaker 2: about it all. But the first things. First, freaking May, Yeah,
- 3:02Speaker 2: Drake freaking May. What did you have ninety completion rate?
- 3:08Speaker 2: This is insane?
- 3:10Speaker 4: And I have a little aside.
- 3:11Speaker 2: Has the league ever seen this before?
- 3:13Speaker 4: I have a question for Evan. Yes, Paul, I saw
- 3:16Speaker 4: on one of your sites that that was tweeted out yesterday.
- 3:21Speaker 4: So it was what was it ninety one nine something? Okay,
- 3:25Speaker 4: so you had two incomplete passes? Right, one of your
- 3:30Speaker 4: sites has expected completion percentage or something. C Poe. It
- 3:35Speaker 4: was actually higher than that. And I would like you,
- 3:39Speaker 4: in my mind's eye, see when you only have two
- 3:41Speaker 4: incomplete passes. You can remember them. Yeah, one of them
- 3:45Speaker 4: he threw over the over Kyle Williams on the sideline
- 3:48Speaker 4: like just wasn't I didn't didn't really look right. I
- 3:52Speaker 4: don't know if it was a I didn't think it
- 3:53Speaker 4: was a great route by Kyle Williams, but the ball
- 3:55Speaker 4: was high, no chance. And the other one I think
- 3:58Speaker 4: was a throwaway.
- 4:00Speaker 3: The other one he got hit off the edge, so
- 4:02Speaker 3: it actually was under pressure. A quarterback hit blits off
- 4:07Speaker 3: the edge to Hunter Henry over the middle of the
- 4:09Speaker 3: field that was there if there was no pressure.
- 4:11Speaker 4: So okay, So that answers my question. That's how you
- 4:14Speaker 4: get a higher expected completion percentage with to me like
- 4:17Speaker 4: no chance to complete the two incomplete passes. Evidently they
- 4:20Speaker 4: thought he should have. I don't know. I don't. I
- 4:22Speaker 4: don't get that whole expected thing.
- 4:24Speaker 2: I'm not a big well even the throat to Kyle
- 4:26Speaker 2: Williams four minutes into the show.
- 4:28Speaker 6: And.
- 4:30Speaker 4: I just how I wanted to know how it worked. Like,
- 4:34Speaker 4: I mean again, when you complete over ninety percent of
- 4:36Speaker 4: your passes and there's only two incomplete passes, right, I
- 4:42Speaker 4: don't think he had any chance to complete the first one.
- 4:45Speaker 4: The Kyle Williams. But evidently they did.
- 4:48Speaker 3: No, No, not the first one, but the second one
- 4:51Speaker 3: was there just the pressure came off the edge and
- 4:53Speaker 3: he was hit as he was throwing the football, so
- 4:56Speaker 3: it went into the dirt instead to the receiver. So
- 4:59Speaker 3: maybe that's what it. I'm not exactly sure what the
- 5:03Speaker 3: number is, like.
- 5:03Speaker 4: Ninety five five or something like that was his. I
- 5:07Speaker 4: just I'm curious too how sometimes how those numbers are tabulated.
- 5:10Speaker 2: But this is astounding, the numbers that he's putting up.
- 5:13Speaker 2: And he's not throwing it thirty forty times a game,
- 5:16Speaker 2: I get it. And he's not racking up over three
- 5:18Speaker 2: hundred yards.
- 5:19Speaker 4: But he also ain't checked down, Charlie.
- 5:21Speaker 2: No, but he's not checked down. He's he's run, Charlie.
- 5:24Speaker 2: He'll say, that's why.
- 5:25Speaker 4: That's why the completion percentage is as high as it is.
- 5:28Speaker 4: That's right, because he's not throwing the ball away.
- 5:30Speaker 2: That's right.
- 5:31Speaker 1: That's that's what I noticed to me.
- 5:32Speaker 2: He's putting his life at risk.
- 5:34Speaker 5: When everybody's covered. Those become instead of sacks or they
- 5:38Speaker 5: become four yards.
- 5:38Speaker 4: Well, they're either they're either sacks or runs. Yeah, he
- 5:41Speaker 4: got sacked four times and he ran like eight times.
- 5:43Speaker 5: Yeah, and one of the sacks I think was at
- 5:45Speaker 5: the line screw. But you know, like that's just where
- 5:47Speaker 5: you start to see the benefit of having a mobile
- 5:49Speaker 5: quarterback is there's nobody open right now. Like on you know,
- 5:52Speaker 5: Calid full of plays, there's nobody open top run four
- 5:55Speaker 5: or five yards maybe more, maybe a little less negative
- 5:58Speaker 5: out of the negative.
- 5:59Speaker 3: I'm kind of in the little bit on your side
- 6:01Speaker 3: of the street on this one, because not too The
- 6:06Speaker 3: point that I'm trying to make here is is that
- 6:09Speaker 3: I think this team has a real chance to go
- 6:11Speaker 3: to the playoffs, and so if we're really talking about
- 6:14Speaker 3: how do they continue to improve, especially against the level
- 6:18Speaker 3: of competition that they're playing against, He's going to complete
- 6:22Speaker 3: a bunch of passes against the Titans, like he just is,
- 6:25Speaker 3: like he's they're that good at this point. He's that
- 6:28Speaker 3: good at this point. Some of the scrambles in this game,
- 6:31Speaker 3: and he said it after the game as well, I
- 6:33Speaker 3: didn't love all of the scrambled decisions in this game.
- 6:37Speaker 3: And I think it gets exacerbated a little bit by
- 6:40Speaker 3: the fact that he goes into briefly gets evaluated for
- 6:44Speaker 3: a concussion, and you sit there and you say, well,
- 6:48Speaker 3: do you really need that against the Tennessee Titans. Maybe
- 6:52Speaker 3: in week fifteen against the Bills with the division on
- 6:55Speaker 3: the line, you see green grass and you take off
- 6:57Speaker 3: and you try to get a first down with your
- 6:59Speaker 3: life or whatever. But I think that that's something that
- 7:03Speaker 3: Josh Allen I get it. I I hear what people
- 7:07Speaker 3: are saying. They want to preserve this guy. You know,
- 7:10Speaker 3: you have to be cautious and when you do run,
- 7:13Speaker 3: you have to be you have to protect yourself.
- 7:15Speaker 2: He was a little bit you know.
- 7:18Speaker 1: Yeah, we talked about it on the Post Came Show.
- 7:20Speaker 5: It's just a fine line between but you know, getting
- 7:22Speaker 5: down a little earlier too maybe and you know those
- 7:25Speaker 5: couple of yards, but avoiding that late contact.
- 7:28Speaker 2: But I don't want him to stop running.
- 7:29Speaker 4: No, I want him to run when he needs when
- 7:31Speaker 4: he needs to. Well, not every time that the play
- 7:34Speaker 4: breaks down. Sometimes you're better off just throwing it away
- 7:37Speaker 4: first down. As an example, just throw it away third
- 7:40Speaker 4: third and eight. It breaks down and you got to
- 7:43Speaker 4: go get the first down. I don't think anybody has
- 7:46Speaker 4: any problem with that. Or just play quarterback like I.
- 7:48Speaker 3: And look, we're saying this as a way of like
- 7:51Speaker 3: this is what's going to prevent them from winning a
- 7:53Speaker 3: playoff game.
- 7:54Speaker 4: Not in a way of like we have a new
- 7:55Speaker 4: show disclaimer, right whatever, just said, we're now evaluating this
- 7:59Speaker 4: team in a whole different light than what we've done
- 8:02Speaker 4: the last two years. It's now about this is a
- 8:05Speaker 4: playoff team. What are the things they need to do
- 8:08Speaker 4: better to be a quality playoff team? You know, like
- 8:12Speaker 4: what could yeah, what could possibly derail you on the way.
- 8:15Speaker 4: It's a whole new disclaimer, right.
- 8:17Speaker 3: So they you know, he had a couple like the
- 8:19Speaker 3: red zone one he rushed for four yards.
- 8:21Speaker 4: He ran out of bounds on that one.
- 8:23Speaker 3: But he's got Hunter Henry just like sitting right down
- 8:25Speaker 3: on the goal line and he's open, and he's right
- 8:27Speaker 3: there for it, and he just runs and you know,
- 8:31Speaker 3: I get it, Like I'm I'm sitting there watching this
- 8:33Speaker 3: on a computer screen, like I'm not out there in
- 8:35Speaker 3: a live pocket in the NFL feeling the pressure and
- 8:39Speaker 3: feeling the rush and all those different types of things.
- 8:42Speaker 3: But you would just like to see him just sit
- 8:44Speaker 3: in the pocket and just make the throw. Or you
- 8:47Speaker 3: know there's another one where he ran for uh, you know,
- 8:49Speaker 3: got try to get out of the pocket and ends
- 8:51Speaker 3: up getting tackled for like a short game where if
- 8:54Speaker 3: he just comes off the front side of the progression
- 8:56Speaker 3: and gets to the backside of the progression, he has
- 8:58Speaker 3: Ormandra Stevenson on the little hitch just wide open on
- 9:01Speaker 3: the back side of the progression. But he goes one
- 9:04Speaker 3: read and then I'm off, you know, I'm out of
- 9:05Speaker 3: the pocket. And those are just again nitpicks, But like, yeah,
- 9:09Speaker 3: I'm sure that I just want to keep the guy
- 9:11Speaker 3: very much nit. This guy's playing at an MVP level.
- 9:13Speaker 2: Right, I'm sure they're gonna go over the film. They're
- 9:15Speaker 2: going to show him you could have had this, you
- 9:17Speaker 2: could have had I talked about it a little bit,
- 9:19Speaker 2: and I hope he learns that. But until then, I
- 9:22Speaker 2: still want him to trust his instincts.
- 9:23Speaker 4: So I don't want him to stop running. I'm with
- 9:27Speaker 4: you on that, you know, Like.
- 9:29Speaker 2: It's almost like I'd rather have them lose because he
- 9:32Speaker 2: was Drake May was being Drake May and he got
- 9:34Speaker 2: hurt than lose because he's losing his instincts and still
- 9:39Speaker 2: out there.
- 9:39Speaker 3: So I don't know when you say he got hurt,
- 9:43Speaker 3: like that's the worst case scenario because he can sit
- 9:46Speaker 3: in the pocket and dice teams up, so like I
- 9:48Speaker 3: don't like him getting hurt. Is exactly why I feel
- 9:51Speaker 3: this way. Sure everybody, when he ran off the field
- 9:54Speaker 3: on Sunday and he went in the medical ten, I
- 9:56Speaker 3: was like here, oh great, Like here we go, you know,
- 9:59Speaker 3: and like the that's the one thing that is going
- 10:02Speaker 3: to derail him one year.
- 10:03Speaker 2: He's got to learn. He's got to build up his
- 10:05Speaker 2: neck muscles. So when I wrestled, we did these things
- 10:08Speaker 2: called neck bridges, and I swear to God, I've fallen
- 10:14Speaker 2: hard over time, even recently. Like I remember I was
- 10:18Speaker 2: going down my wooden ramp on the tool shed and
- 10:21Speaker 2: my legs came out. I hit my back so hard
- 10:23Speaker 2: my wife heard it from inside the house. I didn't
- 10:25Speaker 2: hit my head, though, because I have this instinct I
- 10:28Speaker 2: immediately bow my neck when I go down and my
- 10:31Speaker 2: head doesn't flop around. You can teach that, you can
- 10:36Speaker 2: you build up your neck muscle, you do your neck bridges.
- 10:39Speaker 5: I want to see Fred doing neck bridges in front
- 10:40Speaker 5: of drakes.
- 10:44Speaker 4: The falling is like the same as getting hit on
- 10:48Speaker 4: an NFL field. Like none of these guys that get
- 10:53Speaker 4: tackled on a regular basis in the NFL do neck bridges,
- 10:55Speaker 4: I guess because they all hit their head on the turn.
- 10:57Speaker 2: Not all of them do, they all do. All of
- 11:00Speaker 2: them do.
- 11:01Speaker 4: Fortunately, in this particular case, when you when you hit
- 11:03Speaker 4: your head on the turf, it doesn't automatically translate to
- 11:06Speaker 4: a concussion, which evidently was the case this week for
- 11:09Speaker 4: Drake May. But he got us up and he's shaking
- 11:11Speaker 4: it like Mike and I were like, oh, he's going
- 11:13Speaker 4: to get We knew the independent spot or if he
- 11:16Speaker 4: was doing his job was good. I mean, how could
- 11:18Speaker 4: you see that and not at least have him get checked. Untunately,
- 11:22Speaker 4: he only made a couple.
- 11:23Speaker 2: I know, my fellow wrestlers out there and people who
- 11:26Speaker 2: have done their neck exercise over time will back me up.
- 11:29Speaker 2: You can not eliminate it, but reduce it.
- 11:33Speaker 4: So I don't want him to stop running because I
- 11:36Speaker 4: think that's a big part of his game, and I
- 11:38Speaker 4: think his athleticism and all that is a huge part
- 11:41Speaker 4: of what he does. But I do think in the
- 11:45Speaker 4: regular season, you know, especially earlier in the season, you know,
- 11:49Speaker 4: when these games are not on the line, a little
- 11:52Speaker 4: bit more judicially, like Evan said, you know, Josh Allen's
- 11:55Speaker 4: done a good job. I think Mahomes has done. You know,
- 11:57Speaker 4: Mahomes started run a little bit more like last year
- 12:01Speaker 4: because the offense needed him to run more. But there
- 12:04Speaker 4: was a time where he would be a whole different
- 12:06Speaker 4: guy in the playoffs than he was in the regular season.
- 12:08Speaker 4: Terms there was running.
- 12:09Speaker 2: Yeah. So Drake freaking May Kay, Shawn freaking Booty. Yeah,
- 12:15Speaker 2: this guy. Every week, whatever is thrown to him, he catches.
- 12:19Speaker 2: And now it's like, it's some of these catches aren't
- 12:22Speaker 2: just your normal catches, Like that one. I thought for
- 12:25Speaker 2: sure that was overthrown in the N zone. Yeah, and
- 12:28Speaker 2: he just you know, unbelievable.
- 12:31Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 12:31Speaker 3: I mean, look, we could sit here in gush about
- 12:33Speaker 3: like ten different throws of Drake Mays in this game,
- 12:36Speaker 3: and I think that that's all well and good. Like,
- 12:38Speaker 3: I mean, the one to Booty is a great throw.
- 12:40Speaker 3: One of Hollands along the sideline is a great throw.
- 12:42Speaker 3: The other one to Booty is another great throw with
- 12:45Speaker 3: pressures and digs.
- 12:47Speaker 4: One is in the digs, one on the sideline digs Hollands,
- 12:50Speaker 4: and then the Booty touchdown. Those three, you know, Mike
- 12:53Speaker 4: and I talked about for like ten minutes.
- 12:54Speaker 1: On the both sidelines down the field in the middle.
- 12:56Speaker 3: I mean, I mean the one to Booty on the
- 12:58Speaker 3: left sideline and off screen is like Will Campbell's right
- 13:02Speaker 3: in his lap, so he's playing in a phone booth
- 13:04Speaker 3: and he has no there's no pocket to step into.
- 13:07Speaker 4: And the fact that he gets that ball there, I
- 13:09Speaker 4: thought Boody did a great job on that. Yeah, because
- 13:11Speaker 4: when that ball was thrown, we were like, that was
- 13:14Speaker 4: very mac Jones.
- 13:16Speaker 3: There's just not a lot of quarterbacks that have the
- 13:18Speaker 3: arm strength to get the ball outside the numbers with
- 13:21Speaker 3: pressure in their lap like that. And so when you
- 13:23Speaker 3: have that ability, like it just opens the entire field.
- 13:26Speaker 4: Like he can make it.
- 13:27Speaker 3: You know, it's cliche, but like he can literally make
- 13:29Speaker 3: every single throw.
- 13:30Speaker 2: And the catch by Pop Douglas, how did he change
- 13:34Speaker 2: his direction and able to reach out behind him?
- 13:40Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, like those are the types of plays
- 13:42Speaker 3: to me the last couple of years that that's a
- 13:44Speaker 3: drop right, Like that's that's an incomplete pass. And then
- 13:48Speaker 3: we get on the show and I we have to
- 13:49Speaker 3: talk about sitting versus own, versus breaking versus man and
- 13:53Speaker 3: all this different type of stuff. But when you're rolling,
- 13:56Speaker 3: you know he reaches back and makes a spider man
- 13:58Speaker 3: catch and somehow gets the ball, you know, and he
- 14:01Speaker 3: ran the wrong route, but he made you know that
- 14:04Speaker 3: for sure, like ninety nine.
- 14:06Speaker 4: I think it was zone. Mean, Mike and I talked
- 14:08Speaker 4: about that in.
- 14:09Speaker 2: The post, So you're thinking he should have just sat there.
- 14:11Speaker 3: Yeah, Like, especially in that situation where it's like fourth
- 14:14Speaker 3: down and just when you have that opening in the zone,
- 14:18Speaker 3: like just get to the sticks and turn around, you know,
- 14:20Speaker 3: And he kind of continued to run that slant over
- 14:23Speaker 3: the middle of the field. But you know, it's a
- 14:25Speaker 3: great catch, and you know the fact that he made
- 14:27Speaker 3: it again I feel like is just indicative the catch
- 14:32Speaker 3: winning was amazing.
- 14:33Speaker 2: Might as well be the offensive coordinator, that's right.
- 14:35Speaker 3: Yeah, thanks Mac, you're dealing congratulations from four wins for
- 14:40Speaker 3: you now he's played well.
- 14:42Speaker 7: Thanks.
- 14:42Speaker 2: So really, so there's there's a hell of a lot
- 14:44Speaker 2: to be excited about with the Patriots, Uh, you know defense.
- 14:51Speaker 4: Can we talk about the game a little bit like
- 14:53Speaker 4: back with the the Douglas play. Anybody anti going for
- 14:59Speaker 4: that one? So fourth down, so to recaituation recapping, they
- 15:05Speaker 4: had scored to close the first half to go up
- 15:07Speaker 4: seventeen thirteen. They get the ball to start the second half,
- 15:09Speaker 4: they're going to do the double score. You know, they're
- 15:13Speaker 4: obviously well within field goal range inside the red zone,
- 15:17Speaker 4: and it's fourth and three. I think I thought an
- 15:20Speaker 4: argument could be made, take the points, get the double score,
- 15:23Speaker 4: now you're up a touchdown, and make a bad offense
- 15:26Speaker 4: chase you a little bit. They went for it and
- 15:30Speaker 4: got it, obviously, and it worked out even better because
- 15:32Speaker 4: they got a two score lead. But I thought an
- 15:34Speaker 4: argument could be made that that was a little bit aggressive.
- 15:37Speaker 5: It goes back a little bit to a couple of
- 15:39Speaker 5: games ago when they settled for the three kind of
- 15:41Speaker 5: along your lines, We're just like felt like we needed points.
- 15:43Speaker 4: I thought they needed points on that drive, that the
- 15:46Speaker 4: ten straight points would have allowed the game to have changed,
- 15:49Speaker 4: whereas they gave it a chance for one play. If
- 15:53Speaker 4: the Titans can just make one play and not allow
- 15:57Speaker 4: any points, the damn was kind of mitigated of the
- 16:02Speaker 4: way that half ended, But I mean not fortunately, Douglas
- 16:05Speaker 4: made a terrific catch YEP adjustment to you know, his route.
- 16:08Speaker 4: I said the same thing to Evan. I was like,
- 16:10Speaker 4: I always ask Evan on Tuesdays when he comes in,
- 16:13Speaker 4: just curious your thoughts on it because I know he's
- 16:17Speaker 4: breaking this stuff down. And that's Mike and I talked
- 16:19Speaker 4: about that a little bit on the post game.
- 16:21Speaker 2: So what do we make of the defense with these
- 16:23Speaker 2: slow starts by the defense, but then second half shutting
- 16:27Speaker 2: teams down.
- 16:28Speaker 5: Well see, and I did some I don't I won't
- 16:30Speaker 5: jump into him yet. I did some nerd research and
- 16:32Speaker 5: I'm gonna be curious. I told Paul, he's gonna blow
- 16:34Speaker 5: your mind curious of Evan's Evan's take on them. But
- 16:40Speaker 5: I mean, the game changed with the three touchdown swing.
- 16:42Speaker 5: So it wasn't like I didn't feel like, oh, they
- 16:43Speaker 5: came out and just played great in the second half.
- 16:45Speaker 5: It's like when they came out in the second half,
- 16:47Speaker 5: all of a sudden, they're sitting on I mean, essentially
- 16:49Speaker 5: with the chase on play, they've now got a three
- 16:52Speaker 5: touchdown you know, three touchdown scoring streak, and the game
- 16:56Speaker 5: just completely changed.
- 16:57Speaker 1: And now Tennessee's really got a.
- 16:59Speaker 5: Chase and they can pull back a little bit, and
- 17:01Speaker 5: I just think it gives them more freedom.
- 17:02Speaker 4: So I the Patriots.
- 17:04Speaker 2: The score dictated the Patriots more than an adjustment at
- 17:08Speaker 2: the Patriots, like Brady like it rang true to me
- 17:11Speaker 2: what Rabel said, where you know, early on they were
- 17:13Speaker 2: getting with some scheme stuff.
- 17:15Speaker 5: You know, the first, i think first or second play
- 17:17Speaker 5: of the game where they motion a guy across and
- 17:19Speaker 5: Tava loses him and it's an easy completion to the flat.
- 17:22Speaker 5: You know, that rang true to me, that they're scheming
- 17:25Speaker 5: up coming into the game plan, and that's why teams
- 17:27Speaker 5: are having success, which leads me to the big question
- 17:30Speaker 5: of how do you prepare.
- 17:31Speaker 1: To get schemed up out of the gate?
- 17:33Speaker 5: Like now, you know, every team goes into a game
- 17:34Speaker 5: saying this is what this defense does. These are the
- 17:37Speaker 5: players that can put them in a tough position or
- 17:39Speaker 5: you know, screwed their rules a little bit.
- 17:41Speaker 1: How do you prepare for that?
- 17:42Speaker 2: And maybe that's it's not just us. A lot of
- 17:45Speaker 2: teams get hit early when when when that script? But
- 17:49Speaker 2: it's starting to become.
- 17:51Speaker 4: There are numbers the Patriots like the third worst in
- 17:54Speaker 4: the league on the first two drives of the game,
- 17:56Speaker 4: and then they're like eighth the rest and then they
- 17:58Speaker 4: I mean, the numbers across the board defensively are good.
- 18:01Speaker 5: They are, And that's what's so hard to like to
- 18:03Speaker 5: get into this. Let's pick some knits and try to
- 18:06Speaker 5: really break down.
- 18:07Speaker 4: I think there's two combination of two things that you're seeing,
- 18:10Speaker 4: and the first is, in this particular game, the offense
- 18:14Speaker 4: changed the game. You know, they score at the end
- 18:16Speaker 4: of the half, they score to start the second half,
- 18:18Speaker 4: and then you know, now all of a sudden, Tennessee
- 18:21Speaker 4: can't do those little things. They can't run Pollard, they
- 18:24Speaker 4: can't roll little balls. They got to try to score,
- 18:26Speaker 4: and you know, obviously cam Wood makes a huge mistake
- 18:30Speaker 4: on the first play after that and the game is
- 18:32Speaker 4: completely over. So that was the first that you oh,
- 18:36Speaker 4: I'm nodded in the first half. But it's a whole
- 18:39Speaker 4: new team, Freddy, It's a whole new team in terms
- 18:42Speaker 4: of expectations. So I think the offense did that. But
- 18:47Speaker 4: the other part is, I mean, let's let's be honest
- 18:51Speaker 4: with ourselves. That's as good as Tennessee can play offensively.
- 18:56Speaker 4: They're not doing that to anybody else like they can't.
- 19:00Speaker 4: We said how many nine categories they were thirtieth or lower.
- 19:05Speaker 4: That's what they are.
- 19:06Speaker 6: You know.
- 19:07Speaker 4: I think cam Wood shows some potential. I think he
- 19:09Speaker 4: made some good throws in the game. He got a
- 19:11Speaker 4: little inaccurate at times too, obviously, you can't drop the
- 19:14Speaker 4: batch two weeks in a row. He just dropped them,
- 19:16Speaker 4: you know, solid small kitchens. You can say, well, you know,
- 19:19Speaker 4: chase on them with the pressure. And he did the
- 19:21Speaker 4: same thing against the Raiders the week before. This is
- 19:23Speaker 4: what Tennessee does. Thirteen points for them is that's not
- 19:27Speaker 4: a bad day offensively for them. They're not good. They're
- 19:31Speaker 4: going to face another offense that's very similar this week.
- 19:34Speaker 4: They're like thirtieth or worse in a lot of offensive
- 19:37Speaker 4: categories too.
- 19:38Speaker 5: And that's kind of what scares me is that you've
- 19:39Speaker 5: had two you know, colors just call him two first
- 19:42Speaker 5: year quarterbacks, a rookie, and you know, a second year
- 19:44Speaker 5: guy starting for the first time in the last two weeks,
- 19:46Speaker 5: completing passes.
- 19:47Speaker 4: It will and I mean and Atlina goes right down
- 19:49Speaker 4: the field. Early in the game. They had I think
- 19:52Speaker 4: six drives that went into Patriots' territory, but they only
- 19:54Speaker 4: ended up with fourteen points or whatever it was. That's
- 19:58Speaker 4: what they are. They scored thirteen in one this week.
- 20:01Speaker 4: They're not good offensively, but they're playing a lot of
- 20:03Speaker 4: bad offenses too, which I think has allowed them to
- 20:06Speaker 4: get their bearings. Some point in the second quarter, third quarter,
- 20:11Speaker 4: and they shut a team down because they just don't
- 20:13Speaker 4: have the ability to score.
- 20:14Speaker 2: This linebacker they picked up on waivers yesterday. Does that
- 20:17Speaker 2: give you any indication of what they're thinking in terms
- 20:20Speaker 2: of coverage, you know, in the middle of the field
- 20:23Speaker 2: or anything, like.
- 20:24Speaker 4: He's edge guy. This is Mike speaks to the edge
- 20:29Speaker 4: depth because he's like three six three two forty.
- 20:32Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 20:33Speaker 5: Sure, I mean they'll play off the edge for them.
- 20:36Speaker 5: I just to me, it speaks to the depth. And
- 20:38Speaker 5: you know, Harold Landry Chase on good players solid, but
- 20:42Speaker 5: after that, it's.
- 20:43Speaker 2: Kind of kind of a wash.
- 20:44Speaker 5: I mean, you haven't seen Keon White really do anything.
- 20:46Speaker 5: Anthony Jennings seems to have fallen out of the picture.
- 20:48Speaker 5: Elijah Ponder is a special teamer. I just that's a
- 20:51Speaker 5: that's another position that Razor thin depth.
- 20:53Speaker 1: And I think they like this kid.
- 20:54Speaker 5: He was in with Rabel too, So I we'll see
- 20:57Speaker 5: if he plays anything more than special teams.
- 20:58Speaker 1: But I think there's a chance he's your third backup.
- 21:01Speaker 5: You know, maybe by next few weeks that he's getting
- 21:03Speaker 5: some snaps on team.
- 21:04Speaker 3: Okay, I just wonder And with the whole opening script,
- 21:07Speaker 3: I had the numbers and after further of you as well,
- 21:10Speaker 3: there's first three drives versus the rest of the game,
- 21:13Speaker 3: and this game is actually the fourth drive that Tennessee
- 21:16Speaker 3: stopped scoring after.
- 21:18Speaker 4: But anyways, that.
- 21:20Speaker 3: He's not gonna say this publicly because I don't think
- 21:22Speaker 3: they would want to tip their hand, but it looks
- 21:27Speaker 3: to me like they're kind of just playing their base
- 21:29Speaker 3: scheme for the first like three or four drives of
- 21:33Speaker 3: the game. And I do wonder if there is some
- 21:35Speaker 3: cat and mouse of let's just see what they're gonna
- 21:38Speaker 3: do against us and kind of let the game declare
- 21:40Speaker 3: and then we'll make a few adjustments and we'll figure
- 21:43Speaker 3: it out defensively. And I understand that some people will
- 21:46Speaker 3: be worried about that because if you play, you know,
- 21:49Speaker 3: again with Josh Allen and or you know, if Baltimore
- 21:52Speaker 3: is healthy, or even this Tampa offense coming up, like
- 21:56Speaker 3: you're worried that they're going to give up seventeen points
- 22:00Speaker 3: and it's not gonna stop right, like they're not going
- 22:02Speaker 3: to be able to stem the tide. But I keep
- 22:05Speaker 3: thinking that's gonna happen, that one of these weeks, like
- 22:08Speaker 3: they're you know, they'll they'll give up twenty one and
- 22:10Speaker 3: they'll be down twenty one to three because the offense
- 22:12Speaker 3: doesn't hold its end of the bargain, and the offense
- 22:15Speaker 3: just keeps them in the game, like they just keep
- 22:17Speaker 3: scoring offensively. So I just I don't know if it's
- 22:20Speaker 3: going to be able to come up and really bite
- 22:23Speaker 3: them with the schedule at their play, Like maybe eventually
- 22:27Speaker 3: once we start to get some of these bigger games
- 22:29Speaker 3: down the road.
- 22:30Speaker 4: But is Cleveland going to do that to them?
- 22:32Speaker 2: But you kind of figure Cleveland's gonna put up more
- 22:33Speaker 2: of a fight defensively for sure.
- 22:36Speaker 3: Against this They but like they can't throw the ball
- 22:38Speaker 3: down the score, they can't.
- 22:39Speaker 2: Score, I know, but they're gonna maybe keep themselves in
- 22:42Speaker 2: the game.
- 22:43Speaker 4: You would think that if they get off to a
- 22:45Speaker 4: good start offensively, they can play with the lead for
- 22:48Speaker 4: a while because Tennessee wasn't able to do that because
- 22:51Speaker 4: they have a bad defense too, right, and maybe maybe
- 22:55Speaker 4: Cleveland can get a stop or two to Evan's point,
- 22:57Speaker 4: and all of a sudden, it's ten to nothing, right
- 22:59Speaker 4: instead of ten ten, which is ten three happening in
- 23:02Speaker 4: these games.
- 23:03Speaker 2: The running game showed signs of life this week. Was
- 23:08Speaker 2: it sort of a facade or is it for real?
- 23:11Speaker 1: I mean, haven't wrote the light box stuff. Yeah, definitely
- 23:14Speaker 1: took advantage.
- 23:15Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean that that's all it is to me.
- 23:17Speaker 3: This is all chess match stuff. Like Titans came out,
- 23:21Speaker 3: they played two high safeties in the opening drive, and
- 23:23Speaker 3: the Patriots ran it right down their throats. And this
- 23:25Speaker 3: is what I've been talking about for a couple of
- 23:27Speaker 3: weeks now, Like, as long as they can run the
- 23:29Speaker 3: ball when other teams are conceding the run, then I
- 23:32Speaker 3: don't really care too much about their overall rushing production.
- 23:36Speaker 3: I care about what they are situationally running the ball.
- 23:39Speaker 3: And if the other team is literally saying you have
- 23:42Speaker 3: to run the ball, can you run it? All these
- 23:45Speaker 3: numbers that they have, and you know, with the run
- 23:48Speaker 3: game that are down near the bottom of the league,
- 23:50Speaker 3: you know, when teams are putting seven eight guys in
- 23:52Speaker 3: the box, like, it's going to be hard to grind
- 23:54Speaker 3: out rushing yard. It's not impossible, but it's going to
- 23:56Speaker 3: be hard. So as good as their offense is throwing
- 23:59Speaker 3: the football, as long as they can run the ball
- 24:01Speaker 3: when it's opportunistic for them to run the ball, and
- 24:04Speaker 3: they can run it in short yardage and run it
- 24:06Speaker 3: on the goal line and like that type of thing,
- 24:08Speaker 3: Like that's all they need to be able to get
- 24:10Speaker 3: out of the running game. They don't need the running
- 24:12Speaker 3: game to be the engine of the offense. They have
- 24:15Speaker 3: Drake may to be the engine of the game.
- 24:17Speaker 4: What did you see in terms of Tennessee's adjustment after
- 24:20Speaker 4: like that? Yeah, so with the light boxes, no.
- 24:23Speaker 3: And I think that was the most fascinating part was that,
- 24:26Speaker 3: you know, in the first half they ran a lot
- 24:27Speaker 3: of too high safety and then the second half they
- 24:30Speaker 3: didn't run as much too high safety and they started
- 24:32Speaker 3: putting the extra defender in the box, and the Patriots
- 24:35Speaker 3: killed him with a couple of play actions, you know,
- 24:37Speaker 3: against single high safeties.
- 24:39Speaker 4: MATC.
- 24:39Speaker 3: Collins's twenty seven yard catches just wide open over the
- 24:42Speaker 3: middle of the field off a little play action. So
- 24:46Speaker 3: they that's it, right, Like if you can answer, you
- 24:49Speaker 3: have an answer to problem solve what the defense is
- 24:51Speaker 3: giving you. They play single high, can you throw it?
- 24:54Speaker 3: They play too high?
- 24:54Speaker 4: Can you run it?
- 24:55Speaker 3: And then you kind of get them in a blender
- 24:57Speaker 3: there of like which one do you pick?
- 24:58Speaker 4: Did they stay with the the too high in the
- 25:02Speaker 4: first half, Like for most of the first half. So that,
- 25:05Speaker 4: to me is the best sign is that you were
- 25:06Speaker 4: able to throw the ball against the too high and
- 25:09Speaker 4: I think of two of you know, Evan likes to
- 25:11Speaker 4: call him the honey shots. You know, want the one
- 25:14Speaker 4: to Booty that he talked about that Drake Drake had
- 25:17Speaker 4: a guy in his lap, and then the one to
- 25:21Speaker 4: Matt Collins down the other sideline. Those are I would
- 25:24Speaker 4: think it's tough on TV. I would think those are
- 25:27Speaker 4: too high looks because that's the shot that you have
- 25:30Speaker 4: to hit. They're able to get the ball downfield against
- 25:33Speaker 4: defenses that are supposed to be taking away the downfield stuff.
- 25:36Speaker 4: I think that might be the best sign because I
- 25:38Speaker 4: could look at it very simplistically and stubbornly and say, yeah,
- 25:41Speaker 4: you ran the ball right down the field in the
- 25:43Speaker 4: first drive. Would you end up with three because you
- 25:46Speaker 4: got down there and got sacked. It's hard to score
- 25:49Speaker 4: that way. Once you get down there, it tightens up
- 25:51Speaker 4: a little bit and it's hard to just run it
- 25:52Speaker 4: all the way in. But they responded by throwing the
- 25:57Speaker 4: ball in the next drive and they get touchdowns. And
- 26:00Speaker 4: then obviously the two minute drill at the end. I
- 26:02Speaker 4: mean that was just yeah, that was against quarters.
- 26:06Speaker 3: Three plays, so that was that was against quarters.
- 26:10Speaker 4: That's against too high. But would it have mattered if
- 26:13Speaker 4: it was the thirty five instead of the forty?
- 26:15Speaker 2: It would matter if he kicked it where it's supposed
- 26:17Speaker 2: to be and they only returned it to the twenty.
- 26:19Speaker 4: Well, I mean that's true, because no, I think that
- 26:23Speaker 4: was the that was what they were trying to do
- 26:25Speaker 4: given what they have with the return situation. Now, you're right,
- 26:27Speaker 4: I was just automatically assuming they get ball to the
- 26:30Speaker 4: thirty thirty five yard line like every other team does.
- 26:32Speaker 4: But you're right, they've been struggling in that since Gibson
- 26:36Speaker 4: went out.
- 26:36Speaker 3: I think he's the best pull shot artist in the NFL.
- 26:41Speaker 3: Like when they play cover two and he has those
- 26:43Speaker 3: honey holes on the sideline, I think he throws that
- 26:46Speaker 3: ball better than any quarterback in the league. I mean
- 26:48Speaker 3: it's just every week it's just like I can rattle
- 26:51Speaker 3: off like six.
- 26:52Speaker 2: It just seems like the switch was just flipped with him.
- 26:57Speaker 2: He just seems so much more confident out there be
- 27:00Speaker 2: rattled and just the accuracy, the accuracy especially down.
- 27:03Speaker 3: Post snap rotation to like you know they on the
- 27:06Speaker 3: Hollands one. They they run an inverted cover two where
- 27:09Speaker 3: they flip the safety in the corner on that side
- 27:11Speaker 3: of the field, so they kind of show something different
- 27:14Speaker 3: pre snap, and then it rotates post snap, and he
- 27:16Speaker 3: just sees it. You know, he's looking right at the
- 27:18Speaker 3: corner and seeing the corner drop into the deep part
- 27:21Speaker 3: of the field and just waits for Hollands to clear
- 27:24Speaker 3: the underneath the fender and rips it and he just
- 27:26Speaker 3: he throws that ball with the weight on the football
- 27:29Speaker 3: to kind of like get it right into the honey hole.
- 27:31Speaker 3: He throws it better than any guy I've seen in
- 27:33Speaker 3: the league this year.
- 27:35Speaker 1: It's crazy.
- 27:36Speaker 2: It's great. Stay after the game, they gave the game
- 27:40Speaker 2: ball to Mike Vrabel. This team loves their coach.
- 27:44Speaker 5: Yeah, it's a great pick. Great pick we use there everybody.
- 27:48Speaker 5: He's just digs grabbing them. I mean, it's just good vibes,
- 27:51Speaker 5: really good vibes, and it's all feeding into itself now.
- 27:54Speaker 5: And like Kevin said, now Pop Douglas is starting to
- 27:57Speaker 5: make catches. Maybe he necessarily wouldn't feel I mean, it's
- 28:00Speaker 5: just I said I think on the postgame show to Paul,
- 28:02Speaker 5: like the last two years of four wins you realize,
- 28:05Speaker 5: like each loss it gets a little worse. And now
- 28:07Speaker 5: this is here has been a reminder that like each
- 28:09Speaker 5: winning gets a little better, you get a little more confidence.
- 28:11Speaker 5: You know, you see other players getting to step up
- 28:13Speaker 5: and contribute and feel like they're part of it, and
- 28:16Speaker 5: you know, you just want to keep this momentum rolling.
- 28:18Speaker 5: I don't know if if they can. I mean, it's
- 28:20Speaker 5: a long season. It's there's gonna be a lot tougher
- 28:22Speaker 5: challenges coming down. I don't know if a lot tougher,
- 28:25Speaker 5: but it tougher challenges coming down the pike that they're
- 28:27Speaker 5: gonna have to deal with. And you know, but I'm
- 28:29Speaker 5: at the point now where I'm talking myself into the
- 28:30Speaker 5: Browns being pretty good. That's why I'm like, no, no, no,
- 28:33Speaker 5: I think we should The Browns are not pretty good.
- 28:36Speaker 2: The defense is number one in the league.
- 28:37Speaker 4: The defense is good.
- 28:38Speaker 2: Okay, they're good.
- 28:40Speaker 4: So they had two and five.
- 28:41Speaker 2: They have they have a super power that can give
- 28:44Speaker 2: you trouble.
- 28:44Speaker 3: If they get to seventeen points, I'd be shocked. But
- 28:47Speaker 3: the thing about the you know, you give credit. You know,
- 28:51Speaker 3: wherever you want to give credit for Drake may give
- 28:53Speaker 3: it to him. I think mostly, But you know, Josh Rabel,
- 28:57Speaker 3: the culture change that has already happened with this team
- 29:02Speaker 3: is like night and day from the last two years
- 29:04Speaker 3: to now. And he did that in seven weeks, you know,
- 29:09Speaker 3: like he's been on the job for what ten months now,
- 29:12Speaker 3: and they already the vibe and the culture is just
- 29:15Speaker 3: a completely one eighty from where it.
- 29:18Speaker 4: Has been the couple one.
- 29:20Speaker 3: Yeah, And that's like, you know, because a lot of
- 29:22Speaker 3: people would respond wile winning is you know, cure is all.
- 29:25Speaker 3: But I think this goes back to Paul's point to
- 29:28Speaker 3: training camp and even in the preseason, like I felt
- 29:31Speaker 3: a difference and like just guys want to be there,
- 29:34Speaker 3: like guys care, guys have energy, Guys want to travel,
- 29:38Speaker 3: they want to be on the road. I can't tell
- 29:40Speaker 3: you how many times, like over the last couple of
- 29:42Speaker 3: years it felt like nobody wanted to go on this
- 29:45Speaker 3: road trip, right, Like, no one really is that interested
- 29:48Speaker 3: in going to Vegas to play the Raiders across the
- 29:51Speaker 3: country Trent Brown and now like all of a sudden,
- 29:55Speaker 3: you get into these locker rooms after the game and
- 29:57Speaker 3: it's a totally different vibe and that's.
- 30:01Speaker 4: It, Like, like Mike said on that shot, you know,
- 30:04Speaker 4: when Drake is given v Abel the ball and you
- 30:06Speaker 4: know Diggs is in the background, you see Pop Douglas
- 30:09Speaker 4: in the background. After Henry's jumping up and down, school
- 30:12Speaker 4: comes in and you know is hitting them. And I
- 30:15Speaker 4: do think it's contented. Now I don't know you like
- 30:17Speaker 4: I do think it's it's winning based. But you know,
- 30:22Speaker 4: there's an argument you made. Do you have good culture
- 30:24Speaker 4: because you're winning, or you're winning because you have good culture,
- 30:27Speaker 4: Like you can look at it either way, but I
- 30:31Speaker 4: do think it's kind of like it was a perfect
- 30:33Speaker 4: storm of a start in terms of you played a
- 30:36Speaker 4: lot of teams that are very you know, below average,
- 30:40Speaker 4: and you were able to beat most of them. You
- 30:42Speaker 4: lost one, you know, to the Raiders, right, but you
- 30:45Speaker 4: were able to beat most of them, and that immediately
- 30:47Speaker 4: gives you belief like you might have had belief. And
- 30:49Speaker 4: I agree with Evan because we talked about this all
- 30:51Speaker 4: all training camp. I think that they had a belief.
- 30:55Speaker 4: But you get that validated when you win. You have
- 30:58Speaker 4: you have the proof of constant we can win.
- 31:01Speaker 2: If we do X, Y and Z, you're getting there.
- 31:03Speaker 4: And then they had the one game where they couldn't
- 31:06Speaker 4: do X Y and Z against Pittsburgh and they got
- 31:09Speaker 4: to see we're capable of winning these games if we
- 31:12Speaker 4: don't beat ourselves. You see, right, it was a good lesson,
- 31:15Speaker 4: you know, it was good. It was kind of like
- 31:17Speaker 4: a perfect storm of a start to.
- 31:18Speaker 2: The veterans that he brought in v Abel and free
- 31:22Speaker 2: agency have really meshed with the holdovers like the Hunter
- 31:26Speaker 2: Henry's and the Pop douglas Is that you mentioned. You know,
- 31:29Speaker 2: there isn't like all the guys that were here before
- 31:32Speaker 2: and these are the new No, they they meshed immediately,
- 31:34Speaker 2: and you got to give credit to Fred Diggs.
- 31:36Speaker 4: I give to Digs a lot of credit for that too,
- 31:38Speaker 4: because he has been and people on the field, people
- 31:42Speaker 4: don't have a lot of bad things to say about
- 31:44Speaker 4: Digs in terms of his compete level and all that stuff,
- 31:47Speaker 4: but I think he's been more.
- 31:48Speaker 2: Of a leader. Well during the game, you see it.
- 31:51Speaker 4: To the to the group and you know, obviously he's played.
- 31:54Speaker 4: He's played like Diggs has always played like. I mean,
- 31:56Speaker 4: he's a great he's a great player pro, but he
- 32:00Speaker 4: he is a pro. Yes, in football wise. Stuff that
- 32:03Speaker 4: I used to tell Mike Orsau about when I used
- 32:06Speaker 4: he used to mind ridically.
- 32:07Speaker 5: Well, not that I had a one ady, but you know,
- 32:09Speaker 5: like I I saw, always saw the player that ripped
- 32:11Speaker 5: our hearts out. But to me, like you said, Paul
- 32:14Speaker 5: being in the locker room and now where he speaks
- 32:15Speaker 5: every Wednesday, we're right next to him here. Everything he
- 32:17Speaker 5: says that to me has been just a huge factor too.
- 32:20Speaker 5: And when you start to talk about turning rooms around,
- 32:23Speaker 5: and you know, giving Pop Douglas and Kaishan Boody and
- 32:26Speaker 5: I'm not saying I want to give you know, Diggs
- 32:28Speaker 5: credit for Boo Hoo boot he's playing now. I think
- 32:30Speaker 5: he has been on that track, but he's really been
- 32:32Speaker 5: a solidifying source for that room, and I think just
- 32:35Speaker 5: gives them some leadership to kind of follow.
- 32:37Speaker 4: And in that room like that position, I think it's hard.
- 32:40Speaker 4: I asked Todd Downing this left. You know, I had
- 32:42Speaker 4: a chance to talk to Todd Downing last week year.
- 32:46Speaker 4: Did the rest of the meeting correct? That was in
- 32:48Speaker 4: the Espianism right there. I had a chance to talk
- 32:51Speaker 4: to Todd Downey me and about thirty of my closest friends.
- 32:55Speaker 4: But I just I asked him how rare it is
- 32:57Speaker 4: for that position, because he was talking a lot of
- 33:00Speaker 4: about these things that we're talking about, and it's Booty
- 33:03Speaker 4: getting you know, two passes thrown to him, but ready
- 33:05Speaker 4: to go and being just as excited that week as
- 33:07Speaker 4: he was the previous week when he had five or
- 33:09Speaker 4: six catches, or like opening week when he caught all
- 33:12Speaker 4: those passes for one hundred yards and how you know,
- 33:15Speaker 4: how rare is that? And he's like, yeah, no, it's
- 33:18Speaker 4: not like that all the time. And I give Diggs
- 33:21Speaker 4: a lot of credit for that, because he has been
- 33:24Speaker 4: the guy that the reputation, the negative reputation for him
- 33:27Speaker 4: is that he's always wanting the ball, Give me the ball,
- 33:30Speaker 4: throw me the ball. I'm not getting enough touches. Even
- 33:32Speaker 4: when Josh Allen's targeting him one hundred and thirty times
- 33:35Speaker 4: a year, he's not satisfied. I haven't seen any of
- 33:39Speaker 4: that so far. Now he's getting the lion's share of
- 33:43Speaker 4: the targets. But as I just mentioned, that's been the
- 33:47Speaker 4: case in the past, and he's still not always been happy, right,
- 33:50Speaker 4: He certainly looks happy now. The message in the locker
- 33:53Speaker 4: room last week was, you know, don't drink you know, like,
- 33:56Speaker 4: don't take the Titans lightly, don't drink the kool aid.
- 33:59Speaker 4: What is Dig saying on Wednesday when he's talking to
- 34:01Speaker 4: Evan and Mike, don't drink the kool aid. He's He's
- 34:04Speaker 4: the guy that's delivering the coach's message, just like everybody else.
- 34:07Speaker 4: So I think he's been really, really a good fit
- 34:10Speaker 4: for those guys.
- 34:11Speaker 3: You selfish position that on this team is selfless. Like
- 34:16Speaker 3: they do not act like they act like receivers, but
- 34:19Speaker 3: they don't act like receivers, like they're not. You know,
- 34:22Speaker 3: no one's pouting in the corner that they're not getting targets,
- 34:24Speaker 3: nobody's complaining about things anymore. Yeah, and all that kind
- 34:29Speaker 3: of stuff. And like Pop Douglas is another perfect example
- 34:32Speaker 3: of a guy that really has had his role reduced
- 34:34Speaker 3: significantly compared to what we thought he would do this season,
- 34:38Speaker 3: but when they needed him and when he's called upon
- 34:41Speaker 3: and his energy is still great.
- 34:43Speaker 2: He's focused.
- 34:44Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, he had the windcam of him coming
- 34:46Speaker 3: off the field and he's still just as happy as
- 34:49Speaker 3: he you know, would have been if he had ten
- 34:50Speaker 3: catches in the game. And like that's hard to find
- 34:53Speaker 3: in that that position in particular, that's really just a.
- 34:55Speaker 2: Putting team first. And you know, another coach who always
- 35:01Speaker 2: emphasize that we have to mention Bill Belichick one of
- 35:05Speaker 2: the people up for the Hall of Fame this year.
- 35:07Speaker 2: He's on the list. I would assume that he's going
- 35:10Speaker 2: to get in. That's just my take. But I don't know,
- 35:13Speaker 2: you know some of these some of these writers.
- 35:15Speaker 4: I think there's some good coaches on this list.
- 35:17Speaker 2: Yeah, but not not even close.
- 35:22Speaker 4: Greed to disagree.
- 35:23Speaker 2: Really, who on the list should be in before him?
- 35:28Speaker 4: Should be is a strong word? Yes, could be.
- 35:31Speaker 2: Oh, anything can happen with these rights.
- 35:33Speaker 4: I'm not talking about like they're going to do something
- 35:35Speaker 4: that you think is wrong. I'm gonna I'm talking about
- 35:37Speaker 4: well yeah, okay, so then there's no sense of talking
- 35:41Speaker 4: about it.
- 35:41Speaker 2: Well that's my opinion.
- 35:42Speaker 4: You go ahead, But that's fine. I'm going to read
- 35:45Speaker 4: the twelve. I think Shanahan, these guys have Dan Reeves.
- 35:49Speaker 4: These guys have brought multiple teams to Super Bowls, okay
- 35:52Speaker 4: without Tom Brady.
- 35:53Speaker 2: But you're saying they should be ahead of Bill Belichick.
- 35:55Speaker 2: I'm not.
- 35:56Speaker 4: I'm not.
- 35:56Speaker 2: That's all I'm saying.
- 35:57Speaker 4: But you're saying it like it's a foregone conclusion. I
- 35:59Speaker 4: don't don't think it is that that's all I'm saying
- 36:02Speaker 4: what it should be exactly. So why should we argue
- 36:05Speaker 4: like there's no other side of it? According to you?
- 36:07Speaker 2: So why does he do this? Why can't I?
- 36:10Speaker 4: I think that Bill Welichick's a Hall of Famer, certainly,
- 36:13Speaker 4: but I don't just dismiss everybody else.
- 36:16Speaker 2: But I'm not just I think maybe their time will come,
- 36:19Speaker 2: but there should be an order here.
- 36:21Speaker 3: So I think that his time might be the one
- 36:24Speaker 3: that's coming because this list, to Paul's point, and a
- 36:26Speaker 3: lot of these guys have already been on this list
- 36:28Speaker 3: for a couple of years now and been sort of
- 36:30Speaker 3: waiting their turn, like a Mike Shanahan. So Bill Arsenberger,
- 36:34Speaker 3: who have never.
- 36:35Speaker 4: Heard Barker, Tom he was a long time whenever the
- 36:41Speaker 4: defensive coordinator. I don't think he's He's not on the
- 36:44Speaker 4: level Tom Coughlin. Tom Coughlin's another one.
- 36:47Speaker 8: Alex gives but ahead of Bill beat him twice, all right,
- 36:51Speaker 8: but still Eli Manning, Mike Holmgren, Chuck Knox, Buddy Parker,
- 36:57Speaker 8: who's kind of a legend, Dan Reeves, Marty Schottenheimer, George Seaffert.
- 37:02Speaker 4: Come on, please, George sefer doesn't belong enough Mike Shanahan
- 37:05Speaker 4: and Clerk Shaughnessy, So Bill would take shawness.
- 37:11Speaker 2: Uh.
- 37:11Speaker 3: I'm obviously in agreement with you, Fred, but some of
- 37:15Speaker 3: these guys have waited their turn already, so they might have.
- 37:18Speaker 2: To still wait.
- 37:19Speaker 4: But we're not talking about Bill's like worthiness like that.
- 37:23Speaker 4: I don't think there's an argument against Bill's really I'm.
- 37:26Speaker 2: Him up against the people on this Bill Arns.
- 37:30Speaker 4: But I think that there's three or four guys Reeves, Shanahan, Holmgren,
- 37:36Speaker 4: you know, all good coaches, all great coach Coughlin, who
- 37:39Speaker 4: brought Coughlin, who brought multiple teams to Super Bowls, built
- 37:43Speaker 4: different programs. I don't know how you can look at
- 37:48Speaker 4: what happened in the last five years and not look
- 37:51Speaker 4: at Bill a little bit differently.
- 37:52Speaker 2: All these guys had bad years.
- 37:55Speaker 4: That's not what I That's not what I meant. Yeah,
- 37:59Speaker 4: without Tom Brady is what I mean. Sure, I don't
- 38:01Speaker 4: know how you cannot look at it a little differently.
- 38:03Speaker 4: If we're just going to say six titles, then why
- 38:05Speaker 4: are we even talking, right? If you're not going to
- 38:09Speaker 4: actually analyze how they got there. That's all I'm saying
- 38:14Speaker 4: is Bill Belichick is Bill Belichick a Hall of Fame coach,
- 38:18Speaker 4: no brainer, there's no argument against does it.
- 38:21Speaker 2: Now, does his defensive coordinator stuff take get taken into consideration?
- 38:25Speaker 1: Yes?
- 38:26Speaker 2: I mean that adds to is his.
- 38:30Speaker 4: So does Mike Shanahan's ability to have half the successful
- 38:35Speaker 4: offenses in football running his system? Does that count?
- 38:38Speaker 2: That's why he's on the list.
- 38:39Speaker 4: No, it's not why he's on the list. He won
- 38:42Speaker 4: two Super Bowls.
- 38:43Speaker 2: Okay, but but it's addition, it's part of his legacy.
- 38:47Speaker 3: But it's it's a big feather in his cat.
- 38:49Speaker 2: Absolutely counts.
- 38:51Speaker 4: Now, I would have Belichick would be my lore Alice
- 38:54Speaker 4: Gibbs right, Belichick would be on that list. My number
- 38:58Speaker 4: one choice for this year would be Bill Belichick. I
- 39:00Speaker 4: just think that it's worthy of a discussion, like, not
- 39:03Speaker 4: a dismissal.
- 39:04Speaker 5: I mean, the unfortunate part is that this is going
- 39:07Speaker 5: to be chosen by a committee, and you wonder if
- 39:09Speaker 5: the select members of the committee had bad feelings towards
- 39:12Speaker 5: Bill that I personal, So it's a fact you never know.
- 39:16Speaker 4: I just think that you can make a football discussion
- 39:21Speaker 4: why Shanahan a home Grin or Coughlin or Reeves should
- 39:24Speaker 4: go first without it being like a petty we don't
- 39:28Speaker 4: like bill ism, like don't. That's a tough argument. Again,
- 39:33Speaker 4: I wouldn't. I would make the Belichick argument, but I
- 39:35Speaker 4: don't really understand why. But you're only some other guys
- 39:39Speaker 4: because their only.
- 39:40Speaker 3: Default of that argument is that with Brady without Brady split.
- 39:44Speaker 4: That's big, okay, but quarterbacks too.
- 39:47Speaker 3: Yeah, and you're just taking out of an account like
- 39:49Speaker 3: the beginning.
- 39:49Speaker 4: Of Matt Hasselbeck that Mike Congren took to the super
- 39:52Speaker 4: Bowl Brett far right far, but he did it without
- 39:56Speaker 4: Brett Farve. Is my point? Bill didn't he went to
- 40:01Speaker 4: a super Bowl without Brett Favre.
- 40:03Speaker 2: Oh I never had Brett fav I don'm only kidding Bill,
- 40:08Speaker 2: never mind.
- 40:08Speaker 5: But every one of these guys a lot of their success,
- 40:11Speaker 5: maybe not all of it, but is kind of I.
- 40:13Speaker 4: Mean, Tom beat them twice with Eli Mannings, who you
- 40:16Speaker 4: guys all think sucks.
- 40:20Speaker 2: Of course not, of course not just because he beat
- 40:23Speaker 2: him twice doesn't mean anything.
- 40:25Speaker 4: No, it doesn't mean anything.
- 40:27Speaker 2: Just said, of course not.
- 40:28Speaker 4: No. You asked me what I take Eli Manning over Brady,
- 40:31Speaker 4: I would say that, course not. But it means something
- 40:33Speaker 4: that he won twice, right.
- 40:34Speaker 2: But not enough to put him over Tom Brady.
- 40:36Speaker 4: No, because Tom Brady won seven and in.
- 40:38Speaker 2: The fact that Tom Cofflin beat Bill twice doesn't put
- 40:41Speaker 2: him over Bill.
- 40:45Speaker 4: Listen, you only had two chances.
- 40:46Speaker 2: I like Tom Cofflin, and not just for the Tom
- 40:49Speaker 2: Coffin he built up a new franchise immediately till he
- 40:54Speaker 2: immediately took them to the AFC Championship.
- 40:57Speaker 4: Again, more success without Tom Brady.
- 41:00Speaker 3: I just think that, you know, if I was making
- 41:03Speaker 3: the pitch for Bill, because let's face it, it will
- 41:06Speaker 3: be a crappy pitch what it is, But if I
- 41:09Speaker 3: was making the pitch for Bill, like, you can't just
- 41:11Speaker 3: ignore the fact that until Brady truly became an MVP
- 41:16Speaker 3: candidate year in and year out, that those early teams
- 41:20Speaker 3: were built on defense and game planning and Bill's side
- 41:24Speaker 3: of things.
- 41:24Speaker 4: We did disagree with that too.
- 41:26Speaker 3: The two thousand and one Patriots were not built.
- 41:28Speaker 4: Two thousand and one is the one that's it. Okay,
- 41:30Speaker 4: all three and oh four were wagon Well four was
- 41:32Speaker 4: the best team the Patriots have ever had.
- 41:34Speaker 3: They were wagons. But like to just discount everything that
- 41:37Speaker 3: Bill did to set that up, and not to mention.
- 41:41Speaker 4: That he's a Hall of Famer. I'm not discounting a
- 41:43Speaker 4: Hall of Famer.
- 41:43Speaker 3: Okay, but I'm just saying, like, you know, not to
- 41:46Speaker 3: mention the things that Brady gives him credit for in
- 41:49Speaker 3: terms of Brady's individual development, with teaching him how to
- 41:52Speaker 3: read defenses and teaching him all the nuances of the
- 41:55Speaker 3: position and not just having him go out there and
- 41:58Speaker 3: run around and play quarterback like those types of things
- 42:01Speaker 3: are are that's more of.
- 42:04Speaker 2: And anyone who doesn't believe that doesn't know football.
- 42:07Speaker 4: And there and I would agree with you.
- 42:09Speaker 3: I just think the only reasons to keep him out
- 42:12Speaker 3: over these guys that are on this list are pettiness
- 42:16Speaker 3: or the fact that they've been on the list for
- 42:18Speaker 3: longer than he has. Like that, it's those two things.
- 42:21Speaker 3: It's not resume like you can't like, oh, I mean.
- 42:23Speaker 4: He has six and they only have whatever two in
- 42:26Speaker 4: most cases, you know, so resume is it's a no brainer.
- 42:29Speaker 4: I just I would like to think that these guys
- 42:32Speaker 4: do more than just look at like who had the
- 42:35Speaker 4: most win, Like does Marty Shottenheim are going because he
- 42:37Speaker 4: has anybody.
- 42:38Speaker 2: Shouldn't even be on the list. Well, he should be.
- 42:40Speaker 4: On the list, but because he was one of the
- 42:42Speaker 4: best coaches of all time. I don't think is he
- 42:44Speaker 4: on the level of those other guys that wan no.
- 42:47Speaker 2: Like, how how down low do we have to go?
- 42:50Speaker 3: If you know, if you were hiring a head coach
- 42:52Speaker 3: and you got him in his prime, not this version
- 42:55Speaker 3: of Bill Belichick, but Bill Belichick in his prime versus
- 42:58Speaker 3: Shanahan and his high prime, versus home Gren, versus Coughlin.
- 43:02Speaker 3: All thirty two teams are hiring Bill Belichick in his prime.
- 43:06Speaker 4: I don't know about that.
- 43:07Speaker 3: Oh come on, I don't know about it, but that's crazy.
- 43:11Speaker 4: All like Shanahan killed Belichick head to head.
- 43:15Speaker 2: Okay, he did, he had his number.
- 43:17Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, I just don't know, like I would
- 43:20Speaker 4: pick Belichick, that's my choice. I just would like to
- 43:24Speaker 4: think that these voters actually analyze it and don't just say, well,
- 43:28Speaker 4: he has six titles better.
- 43:30Speaker 2: I think Bill's mistake is he didn't retire. I think
- 43:33Speaker 2: ten years from now there's going to be a coach
- 43:36Speaker 2: when asked, hey, when are you leaving, He's is going
- 43:39Speaker 2: to say, well, I'm not going to coach into my
- 43:40Speaker 2: seventies like Bill Belichick.
- 43:42Speaker 4: So if that's the problem, I agree with that. That
- 43:45Speaker 4: whole sentiment that you're going down because if he had
- 43:48Speaker 4: retired with when Tom left, you wouldn't have this right
- 43:52Speaker 4: so blatantly obvious sample size without Brady right like you
- 43:56Speaker 4: could say it took him a while, you know, this
- 43:58Speaker 4: first time around he learned like a lot of guys learning.
- 44:01Speaker 4: The second time he was a much better coach Cleveland.
- 44:03Speaker 4: But now, but now you have before and after, big,
- 44:07Speaker 4: big samples of before and after. I would like to
- 44:11Speaker 4: think that guys actually analyze that and use that.
- 44:14Speaker 2: Now.
- 44:14Speaker 4: Would I take Belichick?
- 44:15Speaker 6: Yes?
- 44:17Speaker 2: I would.
- 44:17Speaker 4: Belichick would be on that list. He would be my
- 44:19Speaker 4: top choice. But the other thing about it is, even
- 44:23Speaker 4: if he ends up being the finalist, it doesn't mean
- 44:26Speaker 4: he's in. No, that's right, that he would just be
- 44:28Speaker 4: the coaches nominee, right, I mean, you know, the one
- 44:34Speaker 4: the one guy that's the finalist, and then it goes
- 44:36Speaker 4: down to the regular Hall of Fame committee to vote
- 44:38Speaker 4: for it, and Fred, we're not on that. You and
- 44:40Speaker 4: I know we're committee.
- 44:43Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know why not. I don't know why ridiculous.
- 44:47Speaker 3: I think it's going to be tougher for Bill than
- 44:49Speaker 3: people then he should be because of all the reasons
- 44:52Speaker 3: that he's it's.
- 44:53Speaker 4: Not because of him being such a you know, let's
- 44:57Speaker 4: face it, jerk. Is I hope that's not why I
- 45:00Speaker 4: think that shouldn't be come into play.
- 45:01Speaker 3: But picking at all the nitpicks of his legacy, you
- 45:05Speaker 3: don't do that if you like the guy. You're only
- 45:08Speaker 3: doing that because you think he's a jerk. Like if
- 45:10Speaker 3: if we.
- 45:12Speaker 4: Should, you shouldn't analyze the guy's performance. It shouldn't just
- 45:16Speaker 4: be because I.
- 45:16Speaker 2: Don't like him.
- 45:17Speaker 4: They're not going to sit there.
- 45:19Speaker 3: And if you had a guy and you know, I
- 45:22Speaker 3: don't know how the media felt about all these guys,
- 45:24Speaker 3: but if you had a guy that is beloved in universe,
- 45:28Speaker 3: Andy Reid, Yeah, nobody is going to sit there in
- 45:32Speaker 3: ten years and start nitpicking Andy Reid's legacy to this degree.
- 45:36Speaker 2: Paul's point, they should.
- 45:38Speaker 4: They might would say, you know, probably, but they won't
- 45:42Speaker 4: took him twenty years to figure out how to run
- 45:43Speaker 4: the clock like that should be. That's coaching. That should
- 45:47Speaker 4: be part of the Andy Reid. It won't be well,
- 45:49Speaker 4: it won't be because he's well liked, because these things
- 45:52Speaker 4: are going to outweigh that, but that should be all
- 45:54Speaker 4: part of the equation.
- 45:56Speaker 3: I think he's it won't because he's all right.

- 48:40Speaker 6: Okay, I was laiding us off. Gotta text me care. Okay, good?
- 48:44Speaker 6: What is it? She asks Quoll.
- 48:47Speaker 7: Does it make you feel good to hear so many
- 48:50Speaker 7: players talk about still having so much to fix and
- 48:52Speaker 7: get right after the game?
- 48:53Speaker 6: I think so.
- 48:54Speaker 11: I think that just the uh, the awareness and the
- 48:58Speaker 11: ability and the desire to want to improve in this
- 49:02Speaker 11: league as we go along, whether we win or we lose,
- 49:05Speaker 11: we have to we have to strive for that.
- 49:08Speaker 6: It's just it's an improvement league. We've talked about.
- 49:11Speaker 11: Getting better as we go along, and there's there's glimpses
- 49:14Speaker 11: of it, and we just need to be a little
- 49:17Speaker 11: bit more consistent and uh continue to build speA of improvement.
- 49:22Speaker 4: Where did you see the ground game start to take
- 49:24Speaker 4: some strides. In terms of the positive princiss.
- 49:28Speaker 6: I thought we were more decisive.
- 49:29Speaker 11: I thought we gave them a chance early at the
- 49:31Speaker 11: line of scrimmage to be able to get into the
- 49:35Speaker 11: line of scrimmage, to be able to you know, make
- 49:38Speaker 11: some breaks and give them some space.
- 49:42Speaker 6: You know, there's a lot there to continue to improve on.
- 49:45Speaker 11: You know, if you want to hit some big ones,
- 49:46Speaker 11: you're going to have to be able to block support players.
- 49:48Speaker 6: You have to be able to block safeties, block force.
- 49:53Speaker 11: But I thought we got them into the through the
- 49:55Speaker 11: line of scrimmage at times. I thought we and we
- 49:59Speaker 11: were decisive. There were times where there wasn't anything there
- 50:02Speaker 11: and we got a couple of yards, and then there
- 50:04Speaker 11: were times where there's things there.
- 50:05Speaker 6: We got double digit runs.
- 50:09Speaker 12: At the game, Pop said, this is the first time
- 50:10Speaker 12: that he's been on a team where he feels like
- 50:12Speaker 12: the offensive defense are personally close.
- 50:14Speaker 1: How's that something that you feel like you can.
- 50:16Speaker 12: Kind of foster as the coaching staff.
- 50:19Speaker 11: I mean, we're a team, you know, I mean, everybody's
- 50:21Speaker 11: here is trying to do the same thing. Is just win,
- 50:23Speaker 11: you know, whether that's the coaching staff, sports staff, trainers,
- 50:27Speaker 11: the players.
- 50:28Speaker 6: You know, we're a team.
- 50:30Speaker 11: We spend a lot of time together, so you know,
- 50:32Speaker 11: they practice against each other, they can compete against each other,
- 50:35Speaker 11: and so hopefully they can continue to build those connections
- 50:40Speaker 11: that that it's going to help them on the field,
- 50:43Speaker 11: help them off the field, help them hold each other accountable,
- 50:45Speaker 11: and you know, celebrate our success together.
- 50:49Speaker 7: Mike and always cleaving the game sometimes concussion symptoms to
- 50:53Speaker 7: surface the next day.
- 50:53Speaker 6: Is drinking any kind of protocol things not that I'm
- 50:56Speaker 6: aware of.
- 50:58Speaker 9: And Drake, he gives you the game ball and it
- 51:02Speaker 9: seems like obviously these players really really want to play
- 51:05Speaker 9: with you in that show yesterday with the locker room video.
- 51:07Speaker 4: How do you garner that support from the team. What
- 51:09Speaker 4: is kind of your I guess process.
- 51:11Speaker 11: That I mean, my job is to provide them with
- 51:16Speaker 11: things that will help them do their job, that help
- 51:18Speaker 11: them in their career, to help them help the team.
- 51:24Speaker 11: And that's what we're trying to do. Try to be
- 51:27Speaker 11: as authentic as I can. I try to be honest
- 51:30Speaker 11: and try to get to know them, understand what they're
- 51:34Speaker 11: going through on and off the field, and try to
- 51:37Speaker 11: help them.
- 51:37Speaker 6: That's it, Coach. We got Cleveland coming up, here. You
- 51:41Speaker 6: spent some time with the Browns.
- 51:42Speaker 13: What did that hear do for your career?
- 51:44Speaker 6: What? Well?
- 51:45Speaker 11: I enjoyed that time. I enjoyed the people there, that organization.
- 51:50Speaker 11: I enjoyed working with Kevin and you know, the offensive
- 51:54Speaker 11: staff and Tommy Reese and Chad and you know, I
- 51:57Speaker 11: mean I played with Bubba so a lot of good
- 52:00Speaker 11: young coaches, Jim Schwartz, a really good relationship with with Schwartzy.
- 52:05Speaker 11: And you know, they're playing really well. They're coming off
- 52:09Speaker 11: a huge win. A great defense. Offense is physical, physical
- 52:14Speaker 11: line running back is doing a nice job. So you
- 52:18Speaker 11: know we're going to have a you know, get get
- 52:21Speaker 11: prepared as soon as we you know, we've shut the
- 52:24Speaker 11: door here with with.
- 52:25Speaker 6: The Titans and moving on to the Browns.
- 52:28Speaker 7: There's always a lot of techniques and you know, things
- 52:31Speaker 7: you can pick up on it, like the level anything
- 52:33Speaker 7: broader there than Kevin and Andrew were doing a kind
- 52:36Speaker 7: of thematic, big level that you've taken.
- 52:38Speaker 11: As chiefs that you think, no, I mean a great
- 52:42Speaker 11: communication and I mean I I mean I didn't try
- 52:49Speaker 11: to get involved in the in the day to day operations.
- 52:51Speaker 11: I was I was trying to help the players. I
- 52:54Speaker 11: was trying to help the young coaches. You know, that
- 52:58Speaker 11: wasn't something that I got involved with. I try to
- 53:00Speaker 11: help a player development, but they have a great organization,
- 53:04Speaker 11: you know, as far as the structure and everything. So
- 53:07Speaker 11: but I try to be involved with the young coaches
- 53:10Speaker 11: and with the with the with the young players and
- 53:13Speaker 11: help them and practice and help them develop.
- 53:15Speaker 4: You place as much emphasis on analytics before Cleveland.
- 53:18Speaker 6: Or was there anything about that stuff that maybe change
- 53:20Speaker 6: your perspective.
- 53:22Speaker 11: I mean, that's certainly something that they believe strongly in
- 53:26Speaker 11: and probably you know, we were getting involved with it
- 53:31Speaker 11: in Tennessee, probably not to the extent that that Cleveland has.
- 53:36Speaker 6: We've we've added and I feel like we all do
- 53:39Speaker 6: you know.
- 53:41Speaker 11: That that that can help us at a coaching level
- 53:44Speaker 11: and also help us uh as we look at personnel.
- 53:48Speaker 6: So we'll continue to try to.
- 53:51Speaker 11: Enhance that department and area and how they can help
- 53:54Speaker 11: us looking at what we do internally, but but also
- 53:59Speaker 11: externally is we look at players and acquiring players and
- 54:04Speaker 11: but probably won't get to that extent of where they're
- 54:07Speaker 11: at right now over overnight on the.
- 54:10Speaker 6: Road, but wanted to a hope so far you hear
- 54:13Speaker 6: with this place and a hard place to play for
- 54:16Speaker 6: the live opponents.
- 54:17Speaker 14: How important is.
- 54:18Speaker 2: To get back to that pit five of an et cetera.
- 54:20Speaker 13: To get help.
- 54:21Speaker 11: Well, we're going to focus on the next one, not
- 54:23Speaker 11: not five, at the next seven.
- 54:25Speaker 6: But certainly have appreciated the way that we've.
- 54:30Speaker 11: Played on the road, and we know how important that
- 54:33Speaker 11: the home games are. You have to you have to
- 54:35Speaker 11: hold serve and you have to be great at home
- 54:37Speaker 11: and use that to advantage to where you know, it's
- 54:42Speaker 11: hard to operate, and we're giving them reasons to cheer
- 54:45Speaker 11: and celebrate and be excited. And so those are those
- 54:48Speaker 11: things that are important to us, and so hopefully we'll
- 54:51Speaker 11: give them that product this weekend.
- 54:54Speaker 12: How big of a part this player development of what
- 54:56Speaker 12: you do and how much do you enjoy it?
- 54:58Speaker 15: Well?
- 54:58Speaker 6: I do enjoy it.
- 54:59Speaker 11: I do you know, outside of winning, I've said this
- 55:01Speaker 11: numerous times. Outside of winning, Uh, I enjoy watching players improve.
- 55:06Speaker 11: I enjoyed watching them put a lot of work into
- 55:08Speaker 11: it and then having the success and seeing it at
- 55:12Speaker 11: a practice and then getting the opportunities in the game
- 55:15Speaker 11: and watching that translate. So that's something that we believe in.
- 55:20Speaker 11: You know, no one is a finished product when they
- 55:22Speaker 11: get here, whether whatever age you are or wherever you
- 55:26Speaker 11: you know you started or you came here, there's always
- 55:28Speaker 11: some things that you can continue to improve on. And
- 55:30Speaker 11: then we have another bucket of young players or developmental players.
- 55:35Speaker 6: That that's critical that we do.
- 55:36Speaker 7: That played really well, play the bulk of the steps
- 55:40Speaker 7: behind them. Travion just said nine. What was the thinking
- 55:42Speaker 7: there as far as that split being best for the offense?
- 55:45Speaker 16: This week?
- 55:46Speaker 6: Just kind of how it played out.
- 55:48Speaker 11: I thought, you know, Remandre was was running well, and
- 55:54Speaker 11: you know, I had some good protections and and Travion
- 55:57Speaker 11: is going to be a large part of what we do.
- 56:00Speaker 11: Just think that the way that the game started, uh,
- 56:02Speaker 11: and the success that we had, you know, that's kind
- 56:06Speaker 11: of where it was this week. What did you see
- 56:10Speaker 11: is the biggest difference in the defensive performance after the
- 56:12Speaker 11: first quarter seemed like us were techno. Yeah, we just
- 56:14Speaker 11: didn't do a very good job of matching their script
- 56:17Speaker 11: and their scheme plays.
- 56:18Speaker 6: And you know, we've got to.
- 56:20Speaker 11: Do a better job of being ready to go with
- 56:23Speaker 11: some plays that maybe they've seen on tape or that
- 56:27Speaker 11: are new and using our fundamentals. And you know, I
- 56:30Speaker 11: got got beat on the script in their first plays
- 56:33Speaker 11: and then we'll have to do a better job.
- 56:35Speaker 6: How must it like quick? That was new for you? Well,
- 56:39Speaker 6: every week there's something new, you know. I mean every
- 56:43Speaker 6: every week there's something new.
- 56:44Speaker 11: I mean he talked about throwing the throwback, you know,
- 56:50Speaker 11: off the boot, off the keeper, so you know what
- 56:53Speaker 11: I mean, they've had that in and it's like everybody
- 56:55Speaker 11: else don't see stuff on tape and you know, try
- 56:58Speaker 11: to dial it up or try to do something.
- 56:59Speaker 6: That's what this league is about.
- 57:02Speaker 12: Shan with another X play yesterday. We were obviously seeing
- 57:05Speaker 12: the crows on the field, but how have you seen
- 57:07Speaker 12: the mature behind the scenes since you got here.
- 57:10Speaker 6: I think he communicates better, you know.
- 57:12Speaker 11: I think he's better a communicator, whether that's you know,
- 57:16Speaker 11: anything that he has to deal with outside of work
- 57:20Speaker 11: or you know outside of football, you know, family or
- 57:25Speaker 11: just talking in the building.
- 57:27Speaker 6: I think that's improved. It's just his communication. You know.
- 57:30Speaker 6: He's pretty personal.
- 57:34Speaker 4: And now great moments in.
- 57:38Speaker 2: History. Remember one game, our other editor, Brian Morey was
- 57:42Speaker 2: out for some reason or something. Paul had to do
- 57:44Speaker 2: like everything himself.
- 57:45Speaker 4: I don't think he was out. He was writing a book.
- 57:48Speaker 2: And uh, you know I was as I was fled
- 57:51Speaker 2: as the night progressed, like a different article of clothing
- 57:54Speaker 2: would come off by the end of the night. Is undershirt.
- 57:58Speaker 2: I swear to god, he's sweating, just trying to get
- 58:01Speaker 2: everything done.
- 58:03Speaker 4: It was like, thanks at Fred exaggerates a lot of
- 58:07Speaker 4: things about me. He is not exaggerating.
- 58:11Speaker 2: Yeah, oh my god, that's another great moment. All right
- 58:17Speaker 2: back here and Patriots on Filter Day five to five
- 58:19Speaker 2: past five hundred is the Hotline podcast at Patriots dot com.
- 58:23Speaker 2: Is the email address. Of course, we're talking about the
- 58:26Speaker 2: game on Sunday against the Titans and a little bit
- 58:30Speaker 2: about Bill Belichick getting on the Hall of Fame list. Uh,
- 58:33Speaker 2: it's Evan, Paul, myself, Deuce, Alex and Matt and the booth.
- 58:37Speaker 2: Interesting email here, there's a lot of good ones coming in.
- 58:40Speaker 2: I appreciate that everyone who says this is Tom he's
- 58:44Speaker 2: an Edinburgh, Scotland. Firstly, Goodwin thought we played really well
- 58:49Speaker 2: and my hopes for the team are improving each week
- 58:51Speaker 2: with my floor slowly getting to be the playoffs. Now
- 58:54Speaker 2: my beef Mike do so. Mike, last week you complained
- 58:59Speaker 2: about Booty being one of those receivers that just runs,
- 59:01Speaker 2: catches and falls down. Has this game changed your opinion?
- 59:05Speaker 2: Why do you hate competent, reliable players who will run
- 59:08Speaker 2: go routes all day and not complain they catch the
- 59:11Speaker 2: ball when called upon. It's very similar to your door
- 59:13Speaker 2: set hatred, which was also uncalled for. I'm sorry that
- 59:18Speaker 2: you don't like people catching passes and helping the team.
- 59:20Speaker 4: Yeah, Deuce, and.
- 59:22Speaker 1: He's fine, he's fine, it's done a good job.
- 59:24Speaker 4: I mean, did you see him he just catches the
- 59:28Speaker 4: ball on four?
- 59:29Speaker 14: Well?
- 59:29Speaker 5: No, no, But I get what he's getting at and
- 59:31Speaker 5: I don't think he's wrong, Like, I just think we
- 59:33Speaker 5: talk about this, that's the spot he's playing, Like did
- 59:36Speaker 5: he catch the ball and run through a bunch of people?
- 59:38Speaker 1: No, it's not really his game. I get it. Like
- 59:39Speaker 1: it's fine, he's a good, complimentary outside piece. But I
- 59:43Speaker 1: don't know. People are like, this is the.
- 59:44Speaker 5: Matchup that's gonna tear teams apart for the next decade,
- 59:47Speaker 5: and like is it though?
- 59:48Speaker 1: Like I mean, to be honest, like.
- 59:50Speaker 4: I see something in the middle of those two things.
- 59:52Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 59:52Speaker 5: I mean, I just I still see Booty as a
- 59:54Speaker 5: piece that if you get that big dog that some
- 59:56Speaker 5: people are still clamoring for like that's the spot you're
- 59:59Speaker 5: gonna put him in, right, You're gonna put him over Booty.
- 1:00:01Speaker 3: Yeah, no, it's it's fair.
- 1:00:03Speaker 5: I mean you wanna go get T Higgins gets where
- 1:00:05Speaker 5: T Higgins plain by Booty.
- 1:00:06Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:00:07Speaker 3: It's interesting though, like you know, because I know we
- 1:00:09Speaker 3: always talk about this with Brady, like this is all
- 1:00:12Speaker 3: the same receivers besides Diggs basically right, and and like
- 1:00:15Speaker 3: he's just Drake's just making him look like like world beaters.
- 1:00:19Speaker 3: And it's incredible, like how really good quarterback play can
- 1:00:23Speaker 3: all of a sudden. Now you know, Kaishan Boody is
- 1:00:26Speaker 3: eight not just a competent receiver, but a good deep
- 1:00:29Speaker 3: ball receiver. And uh, you know, Pop Douglas makes plays,
- 1:00:32Speaker 3: Matt Collins is making plays, Diggs is making plays, Austin
- 1:00:36Speaker 3: Hooper is making plays, and it's just fine. All goes
- 1:00:39Speaker 3: back to the quarterback.
- 1:00:40Speaker 2: Philip dor sat yeah away from Beijing, China, writing in nice,
- 1:00:45Speaker 2: says Paul needs to get his stats sources straight. Ye,
- 1:00:48Speaker 2: I was listening to the show at midnight. But just
- 1:00:50Speaker 2: a couple of minutes in Paul mentions something incorrect. You
- 1:00:53Speaker 2: expected completion percentage from May in this game was sixty
- 1:00:56Speaker 2: seven percent according to both next gens. That's an RBSD.
- 1:01:02Speaker 4: I was referenced rbs don't matter.
- 1:01:05Speaker 3: Rbs don't matter, running backs don't matter.
- 1:01:07Speaker 4: I didn't be I'm not telling you the stat was correct.
- 1:01:11Speaker 4: I'm telling you I did not get it incorrect. It
- 1:01:14Speaker 4: was on Twitter that someone was had week by week
- 1:01:19Speaker 4: Drake May's expected completion percentage. Now, maybe these sites had
- 1:01:24Speaker 4: a different number, Which is why I don't really put
- 1:01:26Speaker 4: much validity into an expected thing, because that's a totally
- 1:01:29Speaker 4: subjective measure.
- 1:01:31Speaker 3: Well, it's an equation, it's a formula. But I think
- 1:01:33Speaker 3: what he's saying is is that his expected completion percentage
- 1:01:37Speaker 3: was x, and his actual completion percentage was why, so
- 1:01:41Speaker 3: therefore it would be better than his expected completions percentage
- 1:01:45Speaker 3: might have been seventy percent. His actual completion percentage was
- 1:01:48Speaker 3: ninety one percent.
- 1:01:49Speaker 4: This is why I said, I may be getting it wrong. Yes,
- 1:01:52Speaker 4: that's what I kind of I'm telling you the number
- 1:01:55Speaker 4: I saw was ninety five point five. That's kind of what.
- 1:01:58Speaker 3: I thought you were maybe getting wrong earlier. But I
- 1:02:01Speaker 3: wasn't sure, and so.
- 1:02:03Speaker 4: That's not that's a whole different thing.
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: It's like I love it.
- 1:02:07Speaker 5: I just like being like trick ma is playing awesome
- 1:02:09Speaker 5: right now, Like I just you see all this like
- 1:02:11Speaker 5: statistical minutia of like, well, he's the first guy to
- 1:02:13Speaker 5: ever complete this many pass Like that's all great, and
- 1:02:16Speaker 5: I just don't you can cut it any different way
- 1:02:18Speaker 5: you want about this.
- 1:02:19Speaker 2: He's playing awesome.
- 1:02:20Speaker 4: I care about him throwing the ball down the field
- 1:02:22Speaker 4: and it's basically a thirty five yard hand on the
- 1:02:25Speaker 4: guy catch it, Like you can't possibly not catch the
- 1:02:27Speaker 4: passes that he's throwing. You know, I'm not telling you
- 1:02:29Speaker 4: everyone is life. I mean the Austin Hooper catch was sick. Yeah,
- 1:02:32Speaker 4: it was a great catch, But like the ball to
- 1:02:35Speaker 4: Holland's down the sideline to Digs in the second half
- 1:02:39Speaker 4: down the side, like you can't throw those any better, right,
- 1:02:42Speaker 4: I'm not a big CPOE guy.
- 1:02:44Speaker 3: I think it's a useful stat sometimes from a standpoint
- 1:02:49Speaker 3: of like when you get the expected completion number, like
- 1:02:54Speaker 3: you can tell how easy or hard the throws that
- 1:02:58Speaker 3: he's making are because they use base it off of windows,
- 1:03:02Speaker 3: like is it a tight window or is it an
- 1:03:03Speaker 3: open window? So like if you're making a lot of
- 1:03:06Speaker 3: open window throws, then you obviously You're expected completion percentage
- 1:03:10Speaker 3: is going to be much higher than somebody that is
- 1:03:13Speaker 3: being forced to make a lot of.
- 1:03:14Speaker 2: Tight case Josh Allen would be skewed because all this
- 1:03:18Speaker 2: throws are through a closing window.
- 1:03:21Speaker 4: But back to the Josh Allen didn't know where he
- 1:03:23Speaker 4: was going with that. That was that long. Yeah, it
- 1:03:26Speaker 4: was along road to Grandma's as usual. The throw to
- 1:03:29Speaker 4: Digs in the Buffalo game. Down the sideline, I saw
- 1:03:32Speaker 4: all a bunch of Evans, you know, acolytes talking about
- 1:03:37Speaker 4: how it had such a miniscule, minuscule chance of being completed.
- 1:03:42Speaker 4: Like I don't really like that doesn't mean anything to me.
- 1:03:45Speaker 4: I can look and watch and say, wow, that was
- 1:03:48Speaker 4: really good there. Kim Wood had one. Kim Wood had
- 1:03:51Speaker 4: one in the game that there was like three layers
- 1:03:54Speaker 4: coming across. It would be one of those it's a
- 1:03:55Speaker 4: great throw. I don't ever do it again kind of plays,
- 1:03:57Speaker 4: but likes incredible first half the throw that he made.
- 1:04:01Speaker 4: I'll bet you the you know, the cpoe W whatever
- 1:04:05Speaker 4: it's called, wasn't great on that throw either. It's funny
- 1:04:07Speaker 4: about that different snoring problem. I understand the window as
- 1:04:13Speaker 4: opposed to you know, like the throw wasn't expected to
- 1:04:16Speaker 4: be completed, so the window was so tight the throw
- 1:04:19Speaker 4: had to be precise just to close the loop.
- 1:04:21Speaker 3: Here, Drake May's expected completion percentage on Sunday was sixty
- 1:04:25Speaker 3: six point nine and his actual completion percentage was ninety
- 1:04:29Speaker 3: one point three. So therefore his CPOE is plus twenty
- 1:04:34Speaker 3: four percent because you take the expected and the actual.
- 1:04:39Speaker 4: So I wish I could to find because he's, like
- 1:04:41Speaker 4: I said, I'm sure that I'm messing up this specific
- 1:04:44Speaker 4: stat The email is probably right about that I saw
- 1:04:47Speaker 4: something that listed it. It was higher than his actual.
- 1:04:51Speaker 4: His actual completion percentage should have been ninety five point five,
- 1:04:54Speaker 4: and I just don't think.
- 1:04:56Speaker 5: Before you can I just stick on that because I
- 1:04:57Speaker 5: want to just talk about that play real quick, because
- 1:04:59Speaker 5: this is another thing for me statistically. Maybe Evan can
- 1:05:01Speaker 5: chime in, Like I watched that play which was completed
- 1:05:04Speaker 5: basically with like splane diving t VIY like turning and
- 1:05:07Speaker 5: like Gonzalez kind of running by it, and I believe
- 1:05:10Speaker 5: they like credit that Gonzales is like a past completion,
- 1:05:13Speaker 5: and that just made me pull the thread of like
- 1:05:17Speaker 5: Gonzales like on some of these plays, it's so hard
- 1:05:20Speaker 5: to assign blame, you know, even and I know we
- 1:05:23Speaker 5: I'm not trying to get int the PFF thing of
- 1:05:24Speaker 5: it all, but just for anybody watching, like, how do
- 1:05:26Speaker 5: you like it's it's a great play by them.
- 1:05:29Speaker 4: There's you know, the coverage, I mean there's a million.
- 1:05:33Speaker 4: There's a million of those. I mean, like the touchdown
- 1:05:35Speaker 4: to DK in the first half of that game, you
- 1:05:38Speaker 4: could look and say, wow, Marcus Jones really struggling and
- 1:05:41Speaker 4: he's chasing them all across the field. But then you
- 1:05:43Speaker 4: you can see the safety did I think it was
- 1:05:46Speaker 4: Woodson the exact opposite thing that he should have and
- 1:05:49Speaker 4: ended up getting spun around, And it's clear that Marcus
- 1:05:52Speaker 4: Jones thinks he has support from the other side. Yeah,
- 1:05:55Speaker 4: and maybe Marcus Jones didn't have great coverage. And I'm
- 1:05:57Speaker 4: not trying to absolve, but my man crushed my.
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: Drawn completion on this guy his fault.
- 1:06:03Speaker 4: There's so much number one to coverage, especially in a
- 1:06:05Speaker 4: game like this. Do you have numbers like how much
- 1:06:08Speaker 4: zone they played in this game?
- 1:06:09Speaker 3: Yeah, but it's just it's just not complicated. Like on
- 1:06:12Speaker 3: the throw that you guys are talking about, a cam
- 1:06:14Speaker 3: wored it's covered to Robert Splain's got the got the
- 1:06:16Speaker 3: deep hole. Like that's his assignment on that play, you know,
- 1:06:19Speaker 3: on the throw you're talking about.
- 1:06:21Speaker 4: I'm with you.
- 1:06:21Speaker 3: I put that one on Craig Woodson because Marcus Jones
- 1:06:24Speaker 3: is sticking outside leverage on DK. He's responsible for a
- 1:06:30Speaker 3: corner right because he's outside hip of the receiver. When
- 1:06:33Speaker 3: the receiver breaks on the post, there's a post safety.
- 1:06:36Speaker 3: He's literally called the post safety.
- 1:06:38Speaker 4: It's pretty much with the Saints to the week before.
- 1:06:40Speaker 4: It's the exact same thing.
- 1:06:42Speaker 3: It's literally the same exact play and the same exact result.
- 1:06:45Speaker 3: And so in both plays, like the safety has got
- 1:06:48Speaker 3: to stay home on the post.
- 1:06:49Speaker 2: There's no reason ye because Jones definitely moved inside because
- 1:06:52Speaker 2: he thought something was happening behind him and it didn't
- 1:06:55Speaker 2: and then he took off.
- 1:06:56Speaker 3: There's no reason for the safety to bite on the
- 1:06:59Speaker 3: corner because that it's Marcus Jones's responsibility. So as a safe,
- 1:07:03Speaker 3: as the quarterback is rolling out and he's throwing back
- 1:07:05Speaker 3: from right to left, safety's got to just stay right
- 1:07:08Speaker 3: in the deep middle of the field. I think a
- 1:07:10Speaker 3: lot of the problem that, you know, some of these
- 1:07:13Speaker 3: coverage metrics get confused as some of them, like next Gen,
- 1:07:17Speaker 3: are using proximity to the receiver. They're not talking about understanding.
- 1:07:22Speaker 3: It's cover two and this is the zone, and they're
- 1:07:25Speaker 3: using who is the closest physical person, which is not
- 1:07:28Speaker 3: to the receiver.
- 1:07:29Speaker 2: It's right, Yeah, Gino writes in I wrestled throughout high
- 1:07:34Speaker 2: school and college. Yes, I've long since thought certain NFL
- 1:07:38Speaker 2: positions could benefit measurably from wrestling techniques, thank you, much
- 1:07:42Speaker 2: like receivers might benefit from ballet. As a quarterback, you're
- 1:07:46Speaker 2: going to be tackled. Therefore, prepare for the inevitable. Learning
- 1:07:48Speaker 2: to go down is one of the first things to
- 1:07:50Speaker 2: pick up as a wrestler, not only net bridges, but
- 1:07:53Speaker 2: how to roll into a fall, then to twist, when
- 1:07:55Speaker 2: to use an empty hand, how to absorb the weight
- 1:07:57Speaker 2: instead of using a stiff arm. If you curl your back,
- 1:08:00Speaker 2: then let it unfurl on impact. It reduces the velocity
- 1:08:02Speaker 2: of your head moving towards the ground. So people do
- 1:08:05Speaker 2: it instinctually. But our guy needs a little matt time.
- 1:08:08Speaker 4: But I agree Brady, and Brady was really uh. Brady
- 1:08:12Speaker 4: was a big proponent of that, learning how to fall,
- 1:08:14Speaker 4: It's true. Remember he used to talk to about Garoppolo.
- 1:08:17Speaker 2: It's one of the first things they teach you in
- 1:08:19Speaker 2: like Judo and all those things, how to fall.
- 1:08:21Speaker 3: Didn't didn't to try to learn how to fall. I
- 1:08:24Speaker 3: believe it was to a he went like in the
- 1:08:26Speaker 3: off season. That's all he did all off season was
- 1:08:28Speaker 3: work with one of those like martial arts people or
- 1:08:31Speaker 3: something and learn how to fall.
- 1:08:33Speaker 6: Roll.
- 1:08:33Speaker 3: Yeah, he doesn't hit his head.
- 1:08:37Speaker 2: Tell ye, how's that?
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: Working on it?
- 1:08:39Speaker 2: So he can run to his heart's delight if he
- 1:08:42Speaker 2: learns how to fall.
- 1:08:43Speaker 4: I just think that there are times that you're going
- 1:08:44Speaker 4: to get hit when you don't know you're gonna get o.
- 1:08:46Speaker 4: I know, and you're making it very simplis.
- 1:08:48Speaker 2: Let Drake be Drake.
- 1:08:49Speaker 4: We all want Drake to be Drake.
- 1:08:51Speaker 3: I just want Drake to be Drake for seventeen games, yeah, and.
- 1:08:54Speaker 4: Plus the playoffs.
- 1:08:55Speaker 2: Right, Let's go to Sam and Easton on the hotline.
- 1:08:58Speaker 2: What's up, Sam?
- 1:09:01Speaker 13: Hey, guys, how's it going?
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: Sam?
- 1:09:02Speaker 2: Good?
- 1:09:05Speaker 15: Just a couple of points I wanted to bring up,
- 1:09:07Speaker 15: so hopefully I don't take up too much time. But
- 1:09:10Speaker 15: the first of them being free agents out there. I
- 1:09:14Speaker 15: know we spoke a lot about this over the past
- 1:09:16Speaker 15: couple of months. But one guy that I've thought a
- 1:09:19Speaker 15: lot about, Christian Wilkins. I know he's got a huge
- 1:09:21Speaker 15: contract and he was let go by the Raiders. I'm
- 1:09:24Speaker 15: wondering if there's some kind of way, you know, you
- 1:09:27Speaker 15: could get him to come in and be a really
- 1:09:29Speaker 15: good rotational piece with the other guys, or if you'd
- 1:09:32Speaker 15: be in cap hell. I know, we have a lot
- 1:09:34Speaker 15: of space. It's not going to roll over, So I
- 1:09:36Speaker 15: don't know, everything looks like the.
- 1:09:40Speaker 4: Space rolls over. Yeah, he's not under contract at all
- 1:09:44Speaker 4: right now, he's a free agent. He's not going to
- 1:09:48Speaker 4: cast you any No one wants him because it's all
- 1:09:50Speaker 4: kinds of Yeah, there's all kinds of issues there.
- 1:09:53Speaker 2: I agree.
- 1:09:54Speaker 5: I mean the player, it's I mean, yeah, I think
- 1:09:57Speaker 5: he's always been I mean, I think they were really
- 1:09:58Speaker 5: into him a couple of years ago, right before he
- 1:10:00Speaker 5: signed with the Raiders, and he seems to fit right.
- 1:10:02Speaker 3: There's all sorts of locker room, off the field stuff.
- 1:10:05Speaker 2: Going on with.
- 1:10:07Speaker 4: Stay Away.
- 1:10:08Speaker 2: That was a guy during training camp that Rabel mentioned, Yeah,
- 1:10:12Speaker 2: we'll talk about him.
- 1:10:13Speaker 3: Ye, And then they found out why he was released.
- 1:10:16Speaker 2: Brian's and Lowell, what's up Brian.
- 1:10:20Speaker 13: Hey, what's up guys?
- 1:10:21Speaker 1: Hey, Brian, I love calling guys every week.
- 1:10:25Speaker 13: But yeah, the Patriots around dolls have a good game
- 1:10:29Speaker 13: some day.
- 1:10:30Speaker 2: It was a great game. Where were you watching the game, Brian,
- 1:10:36Speaker 2: I'm at home at home with just by yourself.
- 1:10:41Speaker 4: Oh yeah, I mean pretty much.
- 1:10:42Speaker 7: I mean, you know, yeah, with you or not games though.
- 1:10:48Speaker 2: People coming in and out.
- 1:10:49Speaker 4: Probably dispensary.
- 1:10:53Speaker 17: Douglas not catch doll.
- 1:10:55Speaker 6: That was sick.
- 1:10:57Speaker 2: I was unbelieve. I don't know how he called. I
- 1:10:59Speaker 2: still don't stand how he caught that ball. When he
- 1:11:02Speaker 2: caught that ball. Did you come out of your seat?
- 1:11:05Speaker 2: Oh god, yeah, I was like, I don't think anything
- 1:11:08Speaker 2: makes this guy.
- 1:11:12Speaker 18: Yeah, how did you catch that?
- 1:11:14Speaker 16: Ye?
- 1:11:14Speaker 2: Take another head, just with his hands, that's how you
- 1:11:17Speaker 2: do it. That was great, well, Brian, keep keep calling.
- 1:11:22Speaker 2: Appreciate the call.
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: Thanks, Brian.
- 1:11:24Speaker 2: Let's go to dominic in New York.
- 1:11:26Speaker 4: What's up?
- 1:11:27Speaker 2: Dominic? Dominic? Dom doma is gone is gone? All right,
- 1:11:37Speaker 2: that's okay. We got a lot of emails here. I'll
- 1:11:41Speaker 2: try yell at me. I'd like that, Like, yeah, I like.
- 1:11:43Speaker 4: It when they're not yelling at Meum.
- 1:11:46Speaker 2: This talk about the use of Trevion Henderson getting bugging
- 1:11:52Speaker 2: you or yes, okay.
- 1:11:54Speaker 4: I'm not gonna lie a little bit.
- 1:11:56Speaker 2: Nick and Boston. I get that Trevian Henderson has not
- 1:11:58Speaker 2: been blocking well and it's not run patiently. But it's
- 1:12:01Speaker 2: also true that the way the coaching staff is using
- 1:12:04Speaker 2: him is bizarre. If you look at his next Gen
- 1:12:07Speaker 2: Carrie chart, almost every single rush is up the middle.
- 1:12:10Speaker 2: Against the Saints, he did not have a single rush
- 1:12:12Speaker 2: outside the tackles. Also, why not line him up out
- 1:12:15Speaker 2: wide off the line of scrimmage like the Falcons do
- 1:12:17Speaker 2: with Bijon and get him the ball in space and
- 1:12:20Speaker 2: quick hitters. His usage does not fit his profile. So
- 1:12:24Speaker 2: what do we do here? Because fans are they're fixated
- 1:12:28Speaker 2: on Trevion Henderson's responsibility.
- 1:12:31Speaker 4: I agree we hyped him too much in training camp?
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: Did we did?
- 1:12:34Speaker 4: We felt?
- 1:12:36Speaker 5: I don't know if he hyped him too much, but
- 1:12:38Speaker 5: we talked about him a lot because he looked good
- 1:12:40Speaker 5: in training camp, and I think, as you find with
- 1:12:43Speaker 5: even some of the players, that once she gets to
- 1:12:45Speaker 5: a regular season.
- 1:12:45Speaker 4: It's not the only thing on that email that I
- 1:12:47Speaker 4: would strongly agree with, is I would. I am a
- 1:12:51Speaker 4: little surprised they haven't tried to do much with him
- 1:12:53Speaker 4: in the passing game, like like what he's talking about
- 1:12:56Speaker 4: getting him out wide like Bijon Robinson. I do think
- 1:12:58Speaker 4: he could be a matchup nightmare.
- 1:13:01Speaker 2: But did you see the wheels on Beijon Robinson last night?
- 1:13:06Speaker 3: I mean Jamier Gibbs was Jami Gibbs, same, same, I
- 1:13:13Speaker 3: means fantastic.
- 1:13:15Speaker 4: Gibbs has just done it for for longer.
- 1:13:17Speaker 1: Last week, next week.
- 1:13:18Speaker 4: Bjon Henderson has not played well and that's why I
- 1:13:24Speaker 4: think that he's fighting it a little bit. And I
- 1:13:27Speaker 4: think his usage was down, you know, probably right.
- 1:13:31Speaker 5: And I mean it sounded to me like it looked
- 1:13:32Speaker 5: like Rimandre was getting rolling and we said, let's let's
- 1:13:35Speaker 5: let him roll.
- 1:13:36Speaker 4: But I also think that some of the role that
- 1:13:39Speaker 4: they envisioned for Henderson was, you know, as a passing back,
- 1:13:42Speaker 4: is the third down guy, and Stevenson's better at it.
- 1:13:45Speaker 4: He's better at blocking than than Henderson has been. And
- 1:13:48Speaker 4: I think that's cut into some of his snaps as
- 1:13:50Speaker 4: a result.
- 1:13:51Speaker 5: Last week just highlighted even more that you're not he
- 1:13:53Speaker 5: can barely make it with two guys.
- 1:13:55Speaker 1: You're not going to make it with just Remond or something.
- 1:13:58Speaker 3: I don't Yeah, I agree with the email or that
- 1:14:01Speaker 3: I am also surprised that they haven't flexed them out
- 1:14:03Speaker 3: a little bit or ran them on more wheel routes
- 1:14:06Speaker 3: and like things like that out of the backfield. But
- 1:14:09Speaker 3: the rushing chart thing like this is also going up
- 1:14:13Speaker 3: my backside because like they're running outside zone with him
- 1:14:16Speaker 3: in the game and the run reads is just taking
- 1:14:18Speaker 3: him into the middle of the field, like they're trying
- 1:14:20Speaker 3: to get the ball off tackle with him in the game. Now,
- 1:14:23Speaker 3: like I guess maybe they could toss it out to
- 1:14:25Speaker 3: him and really get him out on the edge by
- 1:14:28Speaker 3: doing that, but like it's not They're not running half
- 1:14:31Speaker 3: back dive.
- 1:14:32Speaker 4: Up the middle with Trayvon Henderson.
- 1:14:34Speaker 3: It's just it happens that when he's been on the
- 1:14:36Speaker 3: field that those runs are you know, he has a read,
- 1:14:40Speaker 3: you know, do I bounce this or do I cut
- 1:14:42Speaker 3: it back up? And the Reds have been taking him
- 1:14:45Speaker 3: into the teeth of the defense.
- 1:14:46Speaker 4: And that's just the way that it's one of the
- 1:14:48Speaker 4: real real quick Freddy, is what offensively you've been disappointed with.
- 1:14:54Speaker 2: Over the last And so that was the next thing.
- 1:14:56Speaker 4: Yeah, like whatever they're doing, I mean, we talked about
- 1:15:01Speaker 4: this struggling to run the football. He was part of
- 1:15:03Speaker 4: the struggles running the football. They gave the carries to
- 1:15:07Speaker 4: one guy this week and whatever. Maybe it's because they
- 1:15:10Speaker 4: went with a light box. Maybe it was because Tennessee
- 1:15:12Speaker 4: is just not good. They're not Stevenson ran really well
- 1:15:18Speaker 4: and the offense did really well again for whatever, the
- 1:15:21Speaker 4: fourth fifth week in.
- 1:15:22Speaker 2: A row, Austin and Oklahoma. I think he has the
- 1:15:26Speaker 2: answer to your thing, Paul. Why a little mixed up?
- 1:15:30Speaker 2: You're thinking of a lot mixed adjusted completion percentage. Drake
- 1:15:34Speaker 2: may had an adjusted this.
- 1:15:39Speaker 4: I told you, I'm probably screwing up the stats. Yeah,
- 1:15:42Speaker 4: thank you, thank you. Emailer. Adjusted.
- 1:15:44Speaker 3: Yeah, that's different that like accounts for like drops and
- 1:15:47Speaker 3: things like that.
- 1:15:48Speaker 4: That's what That's what I thought. And I was just
- 1:15:51Speaker 4: trying to figure out based on the two wing completions,
- 1:15:54Speaker 4: which one of them was supposed to have been caught. Yeah.
- 1:16:00Speaker 2: Carl in Salt Lake City thinks that Josh McDaniels might
- 1:16:03Speaker 2: be intentionally keeping plays of Henderson off the tape early
- 1:16:08Speaker 2: in the season, saving those watching lace.
- 1:16:11Speaker 4: Like Stevens, Like, I just don't, I just don't get it,
- 1:16:14Speaker 4: Like you preface that perfectly, Freddie, is this notting to
- 1:16:17Speaker 4: be things. It's starting to bother you a little bit
- 1:16:19Speaker 4: a little bit. Can we just say that's had nine snaps? Yeah,
- 1:16:24Speaker 4: and so like should we have an as to why
- 1:16:28Speaker 4: I think he had ten snaps? Actually, but do we
- 1:16:30Speaker 4: have an inquiry or as to why they're not getting
- 1:16:32Speaker 4: him involved? It's coming like, please, like he hasn't played well.
- 1:16:38Speaker 4: It's not like an indictment of the pick. It's not
- 1:16:41Speaker 4: an indictment of him, like he hasn't played well. He's
- 1:16:43Speaker 4: played seven games as a pro.
- 1:16:45Speaker 5: I just keep coming back to James White and him having,
- 1:16:48Speaker 5: you know, a red shirt year, and even his second
- 1:16:50Speaker 5: year wasn't all that great, and then you know that
- 1:16:52Speaker 5: third year he becomes the guy. So you just have
- 1:16:55Speaker 5: to be a little patient. But again I blame us
- 1:16:57Speaker 5: for hyping him up. And I mean, I don't really
- 1:17:00Speaker 5: want to say that's that negative because he did look
- 1:17:02Speaker 5: really good. It wasn't like we were making it up.
- 1:17:04Speaker 5: But it's a lot different once you get into realize.
- 1:17:06Speaker 4: Like I said, I am surprised they haven't tried to
- 1:17:09Speaker 4: target a linebacker a little bit more in the passing game.
- 1:17:12Speaker 4: But they've given him opportunities to run the ball. They've
- 1:17:16Speaker 4: given them opportunities to be in pass protection. They've given
- 1:17:19Speaker 4: him opportunities to do the things that he supposedly does well,
- 1:17:22Speaker 4: and he hasn't done a lot of them.
- 1:17:23Speaker 2: Well, yeah, Darius and Louisville. I have a couple of
- 1:17:26Speaker 2: things to get off my chest. First, I'm so sick
- 1:17:30Speaker 2: and tired of hearing about an easier soft schedule. We
- 1:17:32Speaker 2: lost thirteen games the last two seasons, and most of
- 1:17:35Speaker 2: them were against bad teams. Now that we're actually winning
- 1:17:38Speaker 2: these games, people want to talk about how easy the
- 1:17:40Speaker 2: schedule is. Stop it.
- 1:17:42Speaker 4: That took longer than I thought.
- 1:17:43Speaker 2: Secondly, I kind of wanted to defend Pop. If he's
- 1:17:46Speaker 2: running full speed wide open, shouldn't be the throw in
- 1:17:49Speaker 2: front of him wide open? Shouldn't the throw be in
- 1:17:52Speaker 2: front of him for his run after catch instead of
- 1:17:55Speaker 2: stopping his full momentum to sit down. And Lastly, I
- 1:17:58Speaker 2: don't review the film or any thing, but from the
- 1:18:00Speaker 2: naked eye, it seems like they are using Edison the
- 1:18:03Speaker 2: wrong way. Okay, the wrong way on.
- 1:18:05Speaker 3: The Pop one, you run it the way the quarterback
- 1:18:08Speaker 3: wants it to be run. And that's just universal across
- 1:18:12Speaker 3: any quarterback, any team, any real really, any level. Like
- 1:18:17Speaker 3: if Drake May wants you to just sit. Then you
- 1:18:20Speaker 3: right like it's really.
- 1:18:21Speaker 4: If there are rules for route running and for a
- 1:18:24Speaker 4: quarterback play, you need to follow them. And if they're
- 1:18:27Speaker 4: in a certain coverage that dictates you run the route
- 1:18:30Speaker 4: in a certain way and you don't do it. The
- 1:18:32Speaker 4: quarterback can't wait and say he's supposed to do this,
- 1:18:35Speaker 4: but he's not doing it. I'm going to adjust and
- 1:18:37Speaker 4: throw it this way. You can't do that. You have
- 1:18:39Speaker 4: to see the same time, especially in a fourth down
- 1:18:41Speaker 4: play where it's a quick obviously a quick hitter that
- 1:18:43Speaker 4: was supposed to be very fast.
- 1:18:44Speaker 3: See and it's it's didn't cost him this week, but
- 1:18:49Speaker 3: it's good in January or wild and it doesn't the
- 1:18:52Speaker 3: schedule thing.
- 1:18:54Speaker 4: Yes, they've lost to bad teams. They've made This is
- 1:18:57Speaker 4: what Mike Rabel talked about. We want to be in
- 1:19:00Speaker 4: position where we could take advantage of bad football. And
- 1:19:02Speaker 4: they've made progress from the last two years to this
- 1:19:05Speaker 4: year to be able to take advantage of bad football.
- 1:19:07Speaker 4: Don't get your panties in a bunch that people are
- 1:19:10Speaker 4: saying it's a bad schedule. It's the single worst schedule
- 1:19:13Speaker 4: since the league expanded to sixteen games. In nineteen seventy eight. Statistically,
- 1:19:18Speaker 4: it's the single worst schedule, so you can say that
- 1:19:21Speaker 4: they did They had easy schedules the last year, not
- 1:19:23Speaker 4: as easy as this. Don't like why why do we
- 1:19:27Speaker 4: have to be upset about being five and two? Why?
- 1:19:29Speaker 6: Like?
- 1:19:29Speaker 4: Why do we do this?
- 1:19:31Speaker 2: Cody in Indiana, I freaking love Brian and Lowell. He
- 1:19:34Speaker 2: calls in every week and all he asks, so how
- 1:19:37Speaker 2: about the game never change? Brian? You ought to be
- 1:19:40Speaker 2: a Patriots beat writer with such hard hitting questions.
- 1:19:42Speaker 4: Ooh wow, wow.
- 1:19:46Speaker 1: Brian, And it's at the bottom.
- 1:19:47Speaker 5: I was watching these games with I don't know that
- 1:19:49Speaker 5: was suspect that it was mysterious, what it was somebody?
- 1:19:53Speaker 4: Well, you're not ready to commit fully whether or not
- 1:19:56Speaker 4: I watched with somebody else.
- 1:19:57Speaker 3: DNA my own predident signs that I might have been
- 1:20:00Speaker 3: side piece.
- 1:20:02Speaker 4: We don't want to blow strong, show continued. You don't
- 1:20:05Speaker 4: want to tell he's.
- 1:20:07Speaker 1: Like, I'm married, Jill, Brien Lowell. I didn't watch it, not.
- 1:20:09Speaker 4: That I would know. You know, you know, maybe his
- 1:20:11Speaker 4: wife is listening and all of a sudden.
- 1:20:13Speaker 1: The whole family loves the show.
- 1:20:15Speaker 4: Who was he watching the game? I wasn't I wasn't
- 1:20:17Speaker 4: with him.
- 1:20:18Speaker 1: Right, we'll get next week when he called picking up,
- 1:20:22Speaker 1: I like it.
- 1:20:23Speaker 2: Back to the phones Ivans in California.
- 1:20:25Speaker 13: Hey, Ivan, Hey gents, how are we doing today?
- 1:20:29Speaker 2: Okay?
- 1:20:29Speaker 4: Great playoffs?
- 1:20:35Speaker 13: Yes, I wanted to weigh in on the culture versus
- 1:20:38Speaker 13: winning thing, and then I got a question on the
- 1:20:40Speaker 13: line to me, without a good culture, you don't win,
- 1:20:44Speaker 13: right and Rabel what he brought instantly was the credibility
- 1:20:49Speaker 13: of being a great player or a next player at
- 1:20:52Speaker 13: a high level, coaching at a high level, picking his
- 1:20:56Speaker 13: own staff, which is including Josh McDaniels, which some of
- 1:20:59Speaker 13: this narrative out there that Josh was forced upon him
- 1:21:02Speaker 13: as such bs because he already made the comment that
- 1:21:05Speaker 13: he spoke with Josh many times over the last year.
- 1:21:08Speaker 13: And you know, we're seeing the results of that now.
- 1:21:10Speaker 13: Of course, you've got to bring in the right players
- 1:21:12Speaker 13: to execute on your vision, and I think that that's
- 1:21:16Speaker 13: where the rest of the the staff and the team
- 1:21:19Speaker 13: has come together on that. So I think we're seeing that,
- 1:21:22Speaker 13: which is a big difference to where we where we've
- 1:21:26Speaker 13: been the last couple of years. So the question I
- 1:21:30Speaker 13: have on the ol on the on line, though, is
- 1:21:32Speaker 13: an all on deference to Evan They do great stuff.
- 1:21:35Speaker 13: And I'm not a stat geek. I let my eye
- 1:21:37Speaker 13: see what I see. And Jared Wilson's really struggling. I
- 1:21:40Speaker 13: know he's a rookie. At the same time, we keep
- 1:21:43Speaker 13: saying that he might be, you know, better off at
- 1:21:46Speaker 13: a center, and we've got Bradbury there. Just wondering if
- 1:21:49Speaker 13: Bradbury's starting to come back to what we thought he
- 1:21:51Speaker 13: would be when we first signed him. And I mean,
- 1:21:55Speaker 13: what do you guys think that we could do. I mean,
- 1:21:57Speaker 13: do we put is it too early or too late?
- 1:22:00Speaker 13: Not too late, but too early to put Wilson at center?
- 1:22:02Speaker 13: Maybe put Brown in a guard and ride it that way.
- 1:22:06Speaker 13: I'll take it off the air. Thanks, guys.
- 1:22:08Speaker 3: I think it's too late to change two positions, and
- 1:22:12Speaker 3: with the quarterback playing as well as he is, changing
- 1:22:14Speaker 3: his center is not something I'd be interested in doing.
- 1:22:17Speaker 2: Now.
- 1:22:18Speaker 3: The Wilson to Ben Brown, that was something I was
- 1:22:22Speaker 3: talking about last week. I mean, this has been brewing
- 1:22:25Speaker 3: now to Jared Wilson's defense on Vermandre's sixteen yard run.
- 1:22:29Speaker 3: He made one of the best run blocks I've seen
- 1:22:31Speaker 3: the Patriot make all year. So there are flashes of
- 1:22:35Speaker 3: him playing as well podcast. But at the same time,
- 1:22:40Speaker 3: the pass protection, the physicality, the power, and the run
- 1:22:44Speaker 3: game isn't all there for him yet at guard especially,
- 1:22:48Speaker 3: so it's hard for him to dig out bigger run stuffing,
- 1:22:51Speaker 3: defensive tackles and things like that.
- 1:22:54Speaker 4: I get it.
- 1:22:54Speaker 3: I think that there is a case. And I go
- 1:22:57Speaker 3: back to twenty twenty one when they put Ted Carrey
- 1:23:00Speaker 3: in the starting lineup for Mike on whn WHU, like
- 1:23:02Speaker 3: on when who had a much higher ceiling and was
- 1:23:04Speaker 3: the future on the line. But that line just fit
- 1:23:09Speaker 3: better with Ted Carris instead of on Wenu. It just
- 1:23:13Speaker 3: the five men just came to be together better with
- 1:23:17Speaker 3: teddy K. So could that be the case with Ben
- 1:23:20Speaker 3: Brown instead of Jared Wilson. Maybe, But it doesn't seem
- 1:23:23Speaker 3: like they're really rushing to make that move. But I
- 1:23:28Speaker 3: would not change two positions. I think once you start
- 1:23:30Speaker 3: doing that is when it's a house of cards and
- 1:23:32Speaker 3: you start getting yourself in trouble.
- 1:23:34Speaker 5: Yeah, that's a good point, Just to the culture point.
- 1:23:36Speaker 5: I think at some point Vrabel said you don't really
- 1:23:38Speaker 5: know what your culture is until you have adversity, and
- 1:23:41Speaker 5: so it's easy to say they have great culture right
- 1:23:43Speaker 5: now when they're on a heater and they're winning. But
- 1:23:45Speaker 5: you know, I think it speaks more to the bounce
- 1:23:48Speaker 5: back after the Pittsburgh game that Brabel's pointed back to,
- 1:23:51Speaker 5: is like, you know, to have a bad game like
- 1:23:52Speaker 5: that and to see us bounce back, you know, we'll
- 1:23:55Speaker 5: see what kind of culture they have.
- 1:23:56Speaker 1: I mean, I believe in it.
- 1:23:57Speaker 5: I'm not trying to poo poo it, but I just
- 1:23:59Speaker 5: think until you have a game like you know, like
- 1:24:02Speaker 5: Bigger Mayfield last night, you know, like MVP guy has
- 1:24:04Speaker 5: kind of a down game, do you bounce back? Are
- 1:24:06Speaker 5: you able to put a back? Because they happen all
- 1:24:09Speaker 5: the time and the whole in the NFL.
- 1:24:11Speaker 4: The whole culture thing, and it's definitely relevant with this team.
- 1:24:14Speaker 4: I think we talked about it in the first hour.
- 1:24:16Speaker 4: You can see a difference. We've been around this team
- 1:24:19Speaker 4: for the last few years and you can see the difference.
- 1:24:21Speaker 4: Mike made the point of when the losses started to
- 1:24:23Speaker 4: pile up as opposed to now when the winds are
- 1:24:26Speaker 4: partly on it, you can see the difference and the
- 1:24:28Speaker 4: mentality and the demeanor Evan talked about, you know, their
- 1:24:32Speaker 4: demeanor on the road even has noticeably changed. But Philadelphia
- 1:24:38Speaker 4: doesn't have good chemistry right now. They don't have a
- 1:24:40Speaker 4: good culture right now. And if there's still finding ways
- 1:24:44Speaker 4: to win for the most part now, maybe they'll iron
- 1:24:46Speaker 4: it out. They did it last year. They looked like
- 1:24:48Speaker 4: Sirianna could get fired any week last year, and all
- 1:24:52Speaker 4: of a sudden they never lost again. So it can
- 1:24:56Speaker 4: be fleeting and you can lose it and recapture it
- 1:24:59Speaker 4: when you have the talent that Philadelphia has. This team
- 1:25:02Speaker 4: I think is going to need to maintain this kind
- 1:25:05Speaker 4: of culture because I don't think they have as much
- 1:25:07Speaker 4: base talent to fall back on if there starts to
- 1:25:10Speaker 4: be some infighting. Douglas's comment about you know, he's funny
- 1:25:15Speaker 4: because he's only been around three years, but like never
- 1:25:18Speaker 4: been on a team with the offense and defense get
- 1:25:20Speaker 4: along as well as this team does, right, I think
- 1:25:23Speaker 4: that's part of it. I think Ivan's right. I think
- 1:25:27Speaker 4: that's part of the success.
- 1:25:28Speaker 2: Brian's and Georgia. Hey, Brian, Georgia, Brian, Hey, are you
- 1:25:36Speaker 2: on the midnight train? Oh?
- 1:25:38Speaker 4: I see what you did that?
- 1:25:40Speaker 16: Hey guys, I gotta do it all right? So I
- 1:25:44Speaker 16: was having a question, do y'all remember the team that
- 1:25:47Speaker 16: was hot in like six six and oh seven, oh,
- 1:25:51Speaker 16: a couple of years ago with Brady. You had to
- 1:25:53Speaker 16: brigie me in on it. Yeah, and that schedule was easy, easy,
- 1:26:00Speaker 16: and we was drinking the kool ai. And when you
- 1:26:01Speaker 16: ran into the Ravens, yep, okay, do y'all see that's
- 1:26:07Speaker 16: a little bit of comparison to this. I know this
- 1:26:09Speaker 16: team is hot and I love drinke May And do
- 1:26:12Speaker 16: you think when we run into Lions, Ravens, chiefs and
- 1:26:16Speaker 16: coat it could look like that?
- 1:26:18Speaker 2: It could? It could. But remember the whole boogeyman thing
- 1:26:21Speaker 2: was the defense. Back then, If I recall, the defense
- 1:26:25Speaker 2: was kind of getting a little ahead of themselveswhere well
- 1:26:27Speaker 2: they were just in fact, a lot of guys in
- 1:26:29Speaker 2: the locker room didn't like that.
- 1:26:30Speaker 1: Yeah they were. They were dominanting guys.
- 1:26:33Speaker 4: They were dominant defense.
- 1:26:35Speaker 16: The offense is smoking and this one the defense is.
- 1:26:38Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:26:40Speaker 2: Listen, Brian, I'm very eager to see what it looks
- 1:26:43Speaker 2: like when we played Tampa Bay. And you know, when
- 1:26:48Speaker 2: if Lamar comes back and we play the Ravens and
- 1:26:51Speaker 2: some of these better teams, when we play the Bills
- 1:26:54Speaker 2: the second time, I know that's down the road.
- 1:26:56Speaker 4: But like how they did. It's even Cincinnati, And I
- 1:27:01Speaker 4: know Flacco's no great shakes, but when those receivers, he
- 1:27:04Speaker 4: just showed you they can score points.
- 1:27:06Speaker 2: Atlanta's got a lot of weapons.
- 1:27:08Speaker 4: And Atlanta's very inconsistent offensively. If you catch them in
- 1:27:11Speaker 4: a week that they're you know, like last week, they
- 1:27:13Speaker 4: look like they'd never moved the ball before the week before,
- 1:27:15Speaker 4: they couldn't be stopped.
- 1:27:16Speaker 5: The key difference for me is that you were a Tanks, Brian,
- 1:27:19Speaker 5: then you were a team that had the end of
- 1:27:20Speaker 5: Tom Brady and you were trying to squeeze Super Bowls
- 1:27:22Speaker 5: out and it was Super Bowl or bust. And you know,
- 1:27:25Speaker 5: I just maybe it's a bad example, but like how
- 1:27:27Speaker 5: much easier or how much harder.
- 1:27:29Speaker 1: Is the Jets schedule than the Patriots.
- 1:27:30Speaker 5: I mean they're probably what they have three different three
- 1:27:32Speaker 5: different opponents that sport, so it's pretty.
- 1:27:35Speaker 4: Much the same.
- 1:27:36Speaker 5: Now, the easiest schedules in the league, and that hasn't
- 1:27:39Speaker 5: had they haven't won a game yet. So now you're
- 1:27:42Speaker 5: talking about Aaron Glenn, not building a culture, not having
- 1:27:44Speaker 5: any kind of program, not having any kind of belief.
- 1:27:47Speaker 1: But now on the other side of the corner.
- 1:27:48Speaker 4: You have Mike Rabel and we are talking about what
- 1:27:50Speaker 4: Johnson said, if they could complete a pass, it would
- 1:27:52Speaker 4: look I'm not making that up. I just I'm not
- 1:27:56Speaker 4: looking this.
- 1:27:56Speaker 5: Year as saying we got to get a super Bowl
- 1:27:58Speaker 5: this year because time is running out.
- 1:27:59Speaker 1: I'm looking as this is year one.
- 1:28:02Speaker 5: Of a completely new regime, and to look at it
- 1:28:04Speaker 5: seven games in and say we have belief, we have
- 1:28:07Speaker 5: buy in, we have the startings of a new program.
- 1:28:10Speaker 5: Despite the easy schedule, I don't really care. Like this
- 1:28:12Speaker 5: is they need wins, they need to stack confidence and belief. Meanwhile,
- 1:28:16Speaker 5: the Jets are facing a similar schedule and they can't
- 1:28:18Speaker 5: get out of their own way. So you know, it
- 1:28:19Speaker 5: just it doesn't necessarily mean, oh, you have an easy schedule.
- 1:28:21Speaker 4: The difference between having a quarterback and not.
- 1:28:23Speaker 2: And I know that statistically this might be the easiest.
- 1:28:27Speaker 2: But last year they played a lot of bad teams,
- 1:28:29Speaker 2: and like the emailers said, they didn't win those games. No,
- 1:28:32Speaker 2: they couldn't beat them easy ten three.
- 1:28:35Speaker 4: You know, they beat some of them. Then they lost
- 1:28:37Speaker 4: to some of them too. This year they've only lost
- 1:28:40Speaker 4: one of those games. Now, the one thing that I
- 1:28:42Speaker 4: would say to Mike that I'd strongly agree with. There
- 1:28:45Speaker 4: is like the whole nineteen thing. Yeah, when they played
- 1:28:48Speaker 4: better teams, they lost, and that was an indication that
- 1:28:51Speaker 4: you weren't going to be good enough to win the
- 1:28:52Speaker 4: super Bowl. And that was not good enough given that
- 1:28:55Speaker 4: were at that time. Right, if it turns out that
- 1:28:58Speaker 4: you play let's just say, for argument's sake, it's worst
- 1:29:01Speaker 4: case scenario, you lose to Atlanta, Tampa, Baltimore, Cincinnati, and Buffalo.
- 1:29:07Speaker 4: Worst case scenario you lose all five of those games. Yes,
- 1:29:11Speaker 4: it'll be extremely disappointing that we haven't progressed as maybe
- 1:29:14Speaker 4: as far as we all thought. But that's not gonna
- 1:29:18Speaker 4: like and the like. It's not going to close the book.
- 1:29:20Speaker 4: The twenty nineteen season was it was clear that's this
- 1:29:23Speaker 4: is it one last rodeo. Tom's leaving, that's our window.
- 1:29:28Speaker 4: We're done for now. This is gonna be Okay, we're
- 1:29:31Speaker 4: not quite ready to be that kind of a playoff team,
- 1:29:34Speaker 4: but we can still win ten games, make the playoffs,
- 1:29:37Speaker 4: and you know, be frisky when we get in the playoffs.
- 1:29:40Speaker 4: The arrow's point up, we're still gonna be gonna be
- 1:29:42Speaker 4: even better next year. You can look at it that
- 1:29:43Speaker 4: your building.
- 1:29:44Speaker 2: They were coming off a super Bowl going this way.
- 1:29:46Speaker 2: We're coming off four wins and going this way.
- 1:29:49Speaker 4: Even if you lose all those games against the supposedly
- 1:29:52Speaker 4: the supposedly tough team.
- 1:29:53Speaker 5: And even if the season ends exactly the same way
- 1:29:55Speaker 5: as nineteen, you lose a home playoff game in a
- 1:29:58Speaker 5: tight game to you know, a good team like well.
- 1:30:00Speaker 4: I'm not even saying the home playoff game. If you
- 1:30:02Speaker 4: lose all five of those games, you ain't getting a
- 1:30:04Speaker 4: home playoff game. But even if it's.
- 1:30:08Speaker 5: Completely different feeling afterwards where we just wanted a home
- 1:30:10Speaker 5: even if you don't make.
- 1:30:11Speaker 4: The playoffs, for you for whatever reason, let's say let's
- 1:30:14Speaker 4: say you lose to one of the teams that you
- 1:30:15Speaker 4: don't expect to lose. You lose to Cleveland, so you
- 1:30:19Speaker 4: go nine to eight, you don't make the playoffs. I
- 1:30:21Speaker 4: still think the arrow would be putting. It would be disappointing.
- 1:30:24Speaker 4: I'm not trying to be like, oh, listen to the
- 1:30:26Speaker 4: team broadcast telling everybody you know, it's okay, No, it
- 1:30:29Speaker 4: wouldn't be. Will we upset? Will come Mike and I
- 1:30:31Speaker 4: will do postgame shows and we'll you know, be red
- 1:30:34Speaker 4: faced and annoyed that they let an opportunity to slip away.
- 1:30:37Speaker 4: But I think the bottom line would be the future
- 1:30:40Speaker 4: is bright.
- 1:30:40Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, speaking of the future. Eldred's in North Carolina.
- 1:30:45Speaker 2: What's up? Aldred?
- 1:30:50Speaker 18: Hey been doing it with.
- 1:31:02Speaker 6: Trained?
- 1:31:03Speaker 2: Somebody almost merged into my lane today. I was so mad. Anyway,
- 1:31:08Speaker 2: go ahead, al, go.
- 1:31:10Speaker 18: Ahead, n I get it.
- 1:31:12Speaker 19: Other Mike, this should across me. Get to the day
- 1:31:14Speaker 19: it makes it and I'd be hunky own and didn't.
- 1:31:17Speaker 15: Doing it too.
- 1:31:18Speaker 19: But yes, sir, there's two there's two things that never
- 1:31:22Speaker 19: come out of celebrating this week, one of the Panthers
- 1:31:26Speaker 19: and another Drake mate. It's all they're talking about. Now, Okay,
- 1:31:30Speaker 19: take your flowers, buddy, take your flowers, buddy.
- 1:31:32Speaker 4: Sure, I guess they can.
- 1:31:34Speaker 3: They can share in the excitement about Drake May and Ie,
- 1:31:37Speaker 3: uh yeah.
- 1:31:39Speaker 6: You know.
- 1:31:39Speaker 3: I mean why shouldn't like the whole state just gets
- 1:31:43Speaker 3: to claim him, like I.
- 1:31:44Speaker 2: Don't know, just why he went to the college.
- 1:31:48Speaker 4: I mean he's like yeah like that. I don't know.
- 1:31:52Speaker 3: It's like it's like a jet like has a big
- 1:31:55Speaker 3: NBA career. We can just claim him and you.
- 1:31:57Speaker 2: Know, like if if you know you did something right,
- 1:32:00Speaker 2: I think Needham would be right behind you.
- 1:32:02Speaker 3: No, No, like Allan Raisman.
- 1:32:05Speaker 8: Yeah, yeah, I only stayed fifteen miles from his house.
- 1:32:11Speaker 19: I know the school, he went through, the neighborhood. I'm
- 1:32:14Speaker 19: around that area. So everybody's still I.
- 1:32:16Speaker 3: Know, I'm just teasing. I'm just teasing.
- 1:32:18Speaker 2: That's great.
- 1:32:19Speaker 6: I love it.
- 1:32:20Speaker 19: Cool, but that's cool.
- 1:32:21Speaker 16: Yeah.
- 1:32:22Speaker 19: Yeah, but my question is that, Okay, I'm like, I'm
- 1:32:27Speaker 19: not getting back up to that defense. Offense, a little
- 1:32:30Speaker 19: bit worried, but that defense. I mean, I know Doug
- 1:32:33Speaker 19: half to stop, but the first half kids the hell
- 1:32:36Speaker 19: out of me. That's what I'm wondering. So what can
- 1:32:40Speaker 19: they do to tighten it up? Get better or better player?
- 1:32:44Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 1:32:44Speaker 18: I take it off there, all right.
- 1:32:46Speaker 2: Thanks. You know, it's funny because I think in New
- 1:32:49Speaker 2: Orleans that first play, I think they tried to do
- 1:32:53Speaker 2: something on defense to kind of stem that fired on them,
- 1:32:57Speaker 2: and it backfired. Yeah.
- 1:32:59Speaker 3: Like I said earlier, because I agree with you, Fred,
- 1:33:01Speaker 3: I think they tried to pull a fast one on
- 1:33:03Speaker 3: New Orleans to try to get a good play early,
- 1:33:06Speaker 3: because they keep saying that once they make a play,
- 1:33:09Speaker 3: they start to rally around that and they start to
- 1:33:11Speaker 3: get the energy and get going. But I think they
- 1:33:14Speaker 3: played pretty vanilla early in these games. And again, I
- 1:33:19Speaker 3: don't know if that's by design. I don't know if
- 1:33:21Speaker 3: they would admit that it's by design, even it was
- 1:33:23Speaker 3: by design, but they kind of just come out in
- 1:33:26Speaker 3: their base defense and their base schemes and do what
- 1:33:28Speaker 3: they do. And you know, then once they kind of
- 1:33:32Speaker 3: like let the other team empty the clip of like
- 1:33:35Speaker 3: all of the game plan scripted plays, right, and then
- 1:33:38Speaker 3: they're like, all right, like you got your little throwback
- 1:33:41Speaker 3: off the boot, you know, out of your system, like
- 1:33:43Speaker 3: now let's play for.
- 1:33:44Speaker 2: The problem with some of the better teams is their
- 1:33:46Speaker 2: clip is a lot bigger, right and doesn't necessarily concern
- 1:33:51Speaker 2: and then question for you, there's.
- 1:33:54Speaker 3: Something growing a little bit, there's something maybe it was
- 1:33:58Speaker 3: garbage time, so I don't want to put some much
- 1:34:00Speaker 3: on it.
- 1:34:00Speaker 5: Like his size, his movement skill, like he just I
- 1:34:04Speaker 5: don't know, he looks he looks the part to me,
- 1:34:06Speaker 5: and I mean twenty snaps nothing, you know, that's our
- 1:34:09Speaker 5: running joke now on the postgame show, how much did
- 1:34:12Speaker 5: Marty map WHU play? But you know, just as they
- 1:34:14Speaker 5: consider to explore options, he.
- 1:34:15Speaker 1: Just I don't know. I think he's doing pretty good job.
- 1:34:17Speaker 3: Yeah, I do wonder if you know, is there a
- 1:34:20Speaker 3: third down roll for him where, you know, maybe you
- 1:34:23Speaker 3: do take a Splane or an Ellis or someone like
- 1:34:26Speaker 3: that off the field and get a more athletic coverage
- 1:34:30Speaker 3: linebacker converted safety that has a little bit more skill
- 1:34:34Speaker 3: and coverage to defend in some of those situations. I mean,
- 1:34:37Speaker 3: they've been pretty good and third and like medium plus
- 1:34:41Speaker 3: like so it's not like it's been a problem, but
- 1:34:43Speaker 3: their early down defense has really been where the problem
- 1:34:46Speaker 3: has numbers.
- 1:34:46Speaker 1: You want to share this, I want to.
- 1:34:48Speaker 5: I want to share this now because Paul made fun
- 1:34:49Speaker 5: of me. But I don't think I need Evan to
- 1:34:52Speaker 5: tell me I'm dumb. If Evan tells me I'm dumb,
- 1:34:54Speaker 5: I don't know that this.
- 1:34:55Speaker 2: Is the pen with the multiple old school multicolor.
- 1:35:01Speaker 4: Yeah, I didn't tell you it was dumb.
- 1:35:03Speaker 1: No, no, no, not dumb. But you know he's dumb.
- 1:35:07Speaker 2: They were talking EPA on the Patriots defense. All right.
- 1:35:09Speaker 5: So first of all, I gotta say I didn't say
- 1:35:10Speaker 5: this to you Paul on the show, but they're tenth
- 1:35:13Speaker 5: in ep on first down, all right, So tenth, so
- 1:35:15Speaker 5: they're a very good first down defense. Now the breakdown
- 1:35:18Speaker 5: though that I had, and I'm gonna try to make
- 1:35:20Speaker 5: these as digestible as possible because nobody wants this.
- 1:35:22Speaker 3: Don't use the numbers, to use the rankings. It's much
- 1:35:24Speaker 3: easier that way.
- 1:35:24Speaker 5: Okay, So I'm talking about the difference second and third
- 1:35:28Speaker 5: down short to mid so second and third down one
- 1:35:31Speaker 5: to six yards versus third down, second and third down
- 1:35:35Speaker 5: and long. All right, So I'm already second and third
- 1:35:38Speaker 5: down one to six yards, they're the thirtieth ranked defense
- 1:35:41Speaker 5: in the league. So second and third down one to
- 1:35:45Speaker 5: six yards, so short to middle back that up to
- 1:35:47Speaker 5: second and third down and long they're sixth. So and
- 1:35:51Speaker 5: we've talked a lot about the circumstantial, like oh, they
- 1:35:53Speaker 5: got a holding call that made it second and long.
- 1:35:55Speaker 5: So just from these numbers that I was nerding out on,
- 1:35:58Speaker 5: it's just like a point to a weird thing of
- 1:36:01Speaker 5: when it's long distance, like, no problem, we're going to cover,
- 1:36:04Speaker 5: we're going to get after the quarterback. But when it's
- 1:36:05Speaker 5: short and medium on second and third down, they're not very.
- 1:36:09Speaker 2: Good that speed in the middle.
- 1:36:11Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 1:36:12Speaker 2: I mean, that's what that's what the debate is.
- 1:36:14Speaker 3: Yeah, So they're eighteenth and early down EPA, first and
- 1:36:18Speaker 3: second down EPA they're ninth and third down EPA. And
- 1:36:21Speaker 3: I think the big thing, you know, looking at the
- 1:36:23Speaker 3: discrepancy is you know that they stopped the run really well,
- 1:36:27Speaker 3: but on early downs they're getting killed by passes.
- 1:36:30Speaker 4: And I just I don't know.
- 1:36:32Speaker 3: Why the early down defense is not stopping the pass well,
- 1:36:36Speaker 3: but it's not. And so that that's just statistically what
- 1:36:39Speaker 3: it is.
- 1:36:40Speaker 2: Let's look at the style. You know, are they giving
- 1:36:43Speaker 2: too much cushion, you know, are they not pressing enough?
- 1:36:49Speaker 3: Well, that's the other thing that's like I think concerning
- 1:36:53Speaker 3: is right now, statistically they're one of the worst man
- 1:36:55Speaker 3: coverage defenses in football. And that was supposed to be
- 1:36:59Speaker 3: their calling card, was supposed to be how they were built.
- 1:37:02Speaker 3: And I think what you know, the issues that you're
- 1:37:05Speaker 3: seeing are the linebacker in safety play in the middle
- 1:37:07Speaker 3: of the field, either not supporting the man coverage defenders
- 1:37:10Speaker 3: with help like the Marcus Jones example that we were
- 1:37:12Speaker 3: talking about earlier, or they're getting isolated in man coverage
- 1:37:16Speaker 3: on the safeties and linebackers and then they're picking on
- 1:37:19Speaker 3: those guys in man to man coverage. So either way
- 1:37:22Speaker 3: you look at it, I do think it stems from
- 1:37:24Speaker 3: the middle of the field. And I know that there's
- 1:37:27Speaker 3: been some criticism of Carlon Davis and maybe a little
- 1:37:30Speaker 3: bit less so, but even you know, Gonzales should not
- 1:37:32Speaker 3: be giving up third down completions to Van Jefferson. Okay,
- 1:37:36Speaker 3: no disrespect to Van Jefferson, but Carlton Christian Gonzalez is
- 1:37:39Speaker 3: a much much better player than Van Jefferson. But those
- 1:37:43Speaker 3: two guys really are not giving up a lot of yardage,
- 1:37:46Speaker 3: you know, they really aren't. So's it's coming in the
- 1:37:50Speaker 3: middle of the field. And you know that that is
- 1:37:54Speaker 3: if you're looking at personnel and you're looking, you know,
- 1:37:56Speaker 3: into next offseason or even the trade deadline, like getting
- 1:37:59Speaker 3: more dynamic pass game players at linebacker and safety has
- 1:38:05Speaker 3: got to be where you start.
- 1:38:06Speaker 5: One more follow up on this kind of related would
- 1:38:08Speaker 5: you say now that Christian Ellis is less a starter
- 1:38:11Speaker 5: and it's more rotational spot next to Spelene.
- 1:38:14Speaker 1: Because it just doesn't. It doesn't.
- 1:38:16Speaker 5: It seems to me like it's a rotation now and
- 1:38:18Speaker 5: Gibbons is going to get in there, and Devia's gonna.
- 1:38:20Speaker 1: Play a little bit in the three linebacker stuff.
- 1:38:22Speaker 5: But you know, at the start of the season, it
- 1:38:24Speaker 5: felt like it was Ellis and Spoleaine our two guys,
- 1:38:27Speaker 5: and then when he Elis won play so good, it
- 1:38:28Speaker 5: felt like, all right, let's let's get another guy in there.
- 1:38:30Speaker 5: But now to me, it just seems like it's kind
- 1:38:32Speaker 5: of a rotational spot, which is probably a little bit
- 1:38:35Speaker 5: of an indictment of what you're doing.
- 1:38:36Speaker 3: Yeah, and like I think that they've slightly upgraded Bentley
- 1:38:40Speaker 3: to Spolaine in terms of coverage, but it's still not
- 1:38:44Speaker 3: his strong suits. So, like we were talking earlier about
- 1:38:47Speaker 3: the crosser that was one of the better throws that
- 1:38:49Speaker 3: cam Ward made. I mean, like a better coverage linebacker,
- 1:38:53Speaker 3: does he like squeeze that throat? Does he get a
- 1:38:55Speaker 3: hand on it? Like, I don't know, And I know
- 1:38:57Speaker 3: that's nitpicky, but like these are the play that they're
- 1:39:00Speaker 3: giving up. They're giving up bombs on post routes, they're
- 1:39:04Speaker 3: giving up crossers over the middle of the field. They're
- 1:39:07Speaker 3: giving up in breaking routes you know from the outside,
- 1:39:10Speaker 3: slants and skinny posts and things like that. Like they're
- 1:39:13Speaker 3: not giving up go routes. They're not giving up things
- 1:39:17Speaker 3: to the outside. Because gun Zalaz and Davis are there,
- 1:39:21Speaker 3: so like it's all this other stuff that is hurting
- 1:39:24Speaker 3: them in the NFL.
- 1:39:26Speaker 2: Do you kind of have to give up something now?
- 1:39:29Speaker 5: In a question, fre I kind of feel like a
- 1:39:31Speaker 5: little bit with that of, Look, we know that this
- 1:39:33Speaker 5: guy might not be great in coverage, but he's going
- 1:39:35Speaker 5: to be super reliable against the run.
- 1:39:36Speaker 1: He's gonna, you know, know, where to be. Like, I
- 1:39:38Speaker 1: hear what you're saying.
- 1:39:39Speaker 4: If you have good offense like the Patriots have had
- 1:39:42Speaker 4: so far, their defenses is good enough, Yeah, it'll be fine. Like,
- 1:39:46Speaker 4: I don't think there's any I agree with Fred, just
- 1:39:50Speaker 4: like piggybacking a little bit, you know, Mike, I think
- 1:39:54Speaker 4: got defensive because I was like, so, let me get
- 1:39:57Speaker 4: this straight. If it's third in the Patriots defense can
- 1:40:01Speaker 4: be okay. If it's if it's second and short, not
- 1:40:04Speaker 4: so much. Now. I get what Mike is saying. It's
- 1:40:07Speaker 4: relative because everybody's third and long and they're really good.
- 1:40:10Speaker 4: Everybody's second and short and they're really bad. I get
- 1:40:13Speaker 4: what Mike is saying. I understand the numbers. I would
- 1:40:15Speaker 4: just say anecdotally, without you know, breaking down tape and whatnot,
- 1:40:20Speaker 4: I think this is a team that conventionally doesn't get
- 1:40:24Speaker 4: a lot of pressure front four without doing stuff. So
- 1:40:27Speaker 4: it just stands to reason that when it's third and
- 1:40:28Speaker 4: long they get pressure. They can get some pressure because
- 1:40:31Speaker 4: they can dial it up a little bit. They know
- 1:40:33Speaker 4: when they know what's coming. I think they've been better.
- 1:40:37Speaker 4: Now again that's still relative. Everybody else knows what's coming too,
- 1:40:40Speaker 4: and they're better than would you say, sixth on third
- 1:40:43Speaker 4: and long. So they're better than everybody else on third
- 1:40:46Speaker 4: and long.
- 1:40:46Speaker 3: I mean they're ninth on third down in general. And
- 1:40:48Speaker 3: to that point I put this in after further review
- 1:40:51Speaker 3: as well. They're playing a lot of man free, which
- 1:40:54Speaker 3: is just man to man with one single high safety
- 1:40:56Speaker 3: in the middle of the field. So there's nobody at
- 1:40:58Speaker 3: the second level that's a help defender. There's no robber
- 1:41:02Speaker 3: at the second level of the defense. And the reason
- 1:41:05Speaker 3: why they're doing that is because they're blitzing because to
- 1:41:08Speaker 3: Paul's point, they don't feel confident in the four man
- 1:41:11Speaker 3: pass rush getting home. So now this is the dilemma
- 1:41:14Speaker 3: is like, do you take the robber and you drop
- 1:41:17Speaker 3: the robber? Well, now you only have a four man
- 1:41:20Speaker 3: pass rush, or you can put the robber in the rush,
- 1:41:22Speaker 3: and now you have a five man pass rush, so
- 1:41:24Speaker 3: you have to decide where are you gonna put the numbers,
- 1:41:27Speaker 3: and without that butt person in the middle of the field,
- 1:41:29Speaker 3: like Van Jefferson third and three, he just runs a
- 1:41:31Speaker 3: slant right into the middle of the open field and
- 1:41:34Speaker 3: there's nobody inside to help Gonzales, so he just gets beat.
- 1:41:38Speaker 3: Carl And Davis got beat on the same exact route
- 1:41:40Speaker 3: by Rashid Shaheed the week before, and so it's just
- 1:41:44Speaker 3: that's it.
- 1:41:45Speaker 4: And when we're talking about some of this stuff, and
- 1:41:48Speaker 4: by the way, Vrabel mentioned some of these things on Monday.
- 1:41:52Speaker 4: You know, have to bet early in games on early downs,
- 1:41:55Speaker 4: and specifically he said we need to generate pressure on
- 1:41:59Speaker 4: early downs. We're not and that sort of speaks to
- 1:42:02Speaker 4: that a little bit. But I also would say that
- 1:42:05Speaker 4: part of it is when you're third and long with
- 1:42:09Speaker 4: the offenses that they that they've been playing, you might
- 1:42:12Speaker 4: as well punt. The Tennessee Titans aren't converting third and elevens, right,
- 1:42:17Speaker 4: you know, the Carolina Panthers aren't.
- 1:42:19Speaker 1: It's a good point.
- 1:42:19Speaker 4: They need to be ahead of the chains. Their offenses
- 1:42:23Speaker 4: are so limited. We're talking about thirty ranked thirty first ranked,
- 1:42:27Speaker 4: thirty second ranked. They can't be third and long. They
- 1:42:31Speaker 4: can't overcome that. The biggest difference between the Patriots offense
- 1:42:33Speaker 4: the past two years and this year is it's not
- 1:42:36Speaker 4: time to punt when it's third and long for the
- 1:42:38Speaker 4: Patriots anymore.
- 1:42:38Speaker 2: That's right.
- 1:42:39Speaker 4: They've been able to convert some of those preach.
- 1:42:41Speaker 1: Yeah, that's a great and I just so.
- 1:42:43Speaker 4: That's obviously going to make you numbers better when you're
- 1:42:45Speaker 4: playing these terrible offenses, and then you when you are
- 1:42:47Speaker 4: able to get them behind to your your point, you
- 1:42:50Speaker 4: get a holding call. That's the end, right, because they
- 1:42:52Speaker 4: can't overcome that, right, or even.
- 1:42:54Speaker 1: A false start for five killed.
- 1:42:56Speaker 5: But Paul, I'm glad you brought that up because this
- 1:42:57Speaker 5: was another point I kind of came out of my
- 1:42:59Speaker 5: little nerd review that the pass rush hasn't been that
- 1:43:02Speaker 5: great and I think we all kind of look at
- 1:43:05Speaker 5: Barmore looks really good. Williams has gotten some pressures in
- 1:43:08Speaker 5: some key spots, I mean.
- 1:43:10Speaker 4: Numbers and you just see like they had five sacks
- 1:43:12Speaker 4: in the game. But the overall.
- 1:43:13Speaker 1: Pressure it has not been that great this year. And
- 1:43:16Speaker 1: that's I think, is it?
- 1:43:17Speaker 5: Maybe that's I'm glad you brought that up there, and
- 1:43:19Speaker 5: when they got it it was after that twenty point
- 1:43:22Speaker 5: twenty one point blitz.
- 1:43:25Speaker 4: They really you know, I mean, I think Chase I
- 1:43:27Speaker 4: had a pretty good game. Ye yeah, you know, to
- 1:43:28Speaker 4: be honest with you, I thought he had a couple
- 1:43:30Speaker 4: of good pressures in the game.
- 1:43:32Speaker 2: But I thought they I thought, you know, maybe it's
- 1:43:35Speaker 2: the tape that they saw of Williams and Barmore. But
- 1:43:38Speaker 2: I thought, uh, the Titans were kind of ready for
- 1:43:40Speaker 2: that pressure, and they were coaching cam Ward deep drops,
- 1:43:44Speaker 2: move out of the pocket, and a lot of times
- 1:43:46Speaker 2: he had plenty of time because he wasn't even near with.
- 1:43:49Speaker 4: Certainly in the first half. Yeah, he had all he
- 1:43:51Speaker 4: had all day.
- 1:43:52Speaker 3: Well, they rolled him on the on the throwback play.
- 1:43:54Speaker 3: But I wonder, like if you so, It's it's all
- 1:43:59Speaker 3: about numbers, right, Like, if you put six guys in coverage,
- 1:44:02Speaker 3: you have five in the rush. Who puts seven in coverage,
- 1:44:04Speaker 3: you have four in the rush. If they put seven
- 1:44:06Speaker 3: in coverage and they have they played more robber where
- 1:44:09Speaker 3: they have one high safety with the robber at the sticks,
- 1:44:11Speaker 3: and that allows these man coverage defenders. In theory, the
- 1:44:15Speaker 3: quarterback has to hold the ball longer, right, because it's
- 1:44:17Speaker 3: not the coverage is going to be tighter, and that's
- 1:44:20Speaker 3: how you like, That's always the dilemma is like is
- 1:44:22Speaker 3: it pass rush or is it coverage? And I just
- 1:44:24Speaker 3: wonder with this team, with Gonzales Davis and Marcus Jones
- 1:44:29Speaker 3: being as good as they are in man coverage, if
- 1:44:31Speaker 3: you just give all the resources to the coverage and
- 1:44:34Speaker 3: say we are just gonna lock teams down eventually, I
- 1:44:38Speaker 3: feel like Landry Chase on, Milton Williams and Barmore are
- 1:44:40Speaker 3: gonna get home. Like it might not be instant pressure
- 1:44:44Speaker 3: like it would be if you, you know, try to
- 1:44:46Speaker 3: dial it up or whatever with blitzes, but if you
- 1:44:49Speaker 3: give them three seconds to get to the quarterback, then
- 1:44:53Speaker 3: I think more times than not then they're going to
- 1:44:55Speaker 3: cause pressure and cause disruption. So I just wonder if
- 1:44:58Speaker 3: that that's, you know, they'd start to try to change
- 1:45:01Speaker 3: up their man schemes because like they're literally dead last
- 1:45:04Speaker 3: and EPA and man coverage. That shouldn't happen with the
- 1:45:07Speaker 3: personnel they have.
- 1:45:08Speaker 2: Franklin and Baltimore rates. And I've been watching the postgame
- 1:45:11Speaker 2: locker room reactions and I got to say this is
- 1:45:14Speaker 2: the most bought in I've seen a Patriots team in
- 1:45:16Speaker 2: a while. I don't even think the twenty eighteen squad
- 1:45:19Speaker 2: with its Super Bowl win was as bought in, which
- 1:45:22Speaker 2: I know is a crazy thing to say since they
- 1:45:24Speaker 2: locked in during the playoffs. But Rabel has an approach
- 1:45:27Speaker 2: that's similar to Dan Campbell, where the player coach mentality
- 1:45:31Speaker 2: is married to a modern approach to analytics. If it
- 1:45:34Speaker 2: wasn't for Stiching, Rabel would be the front runner for
- 1:45:37Speaker 2: Coach of the Year.
- 1:45:39Speaker 4: So you're not crazy on the twenty eighteen comparison because
- 1:45:43Speaker 4: that team clearly, you know, toge, we knew it going
- 1:45:46Speaker 4: through it, but it was confirmed with the documentary. They
- 1:45:49Speaker 4: didn't like each other, they didn't like what was going on.
- 1:45:52Speaker 4: There was a lot of dissension in that team. It's
- 1:45:54Speaker 4: another example of like, you can win even if you
- 1:45:56Speaker 4: don't have good culture if you have enough talent. But yeah, no,
- 1:46:00Speaker 4: there's no question this team is bought in. It's absolutely body.
- 1:46:04Speaker 4: The Dan Campbell thing is is fascinating to me.
- 1:46:07Speaker 5: I was thinking about you the other night, watching the
- 1:46:09Speaker 5: lines a little last night about yeah, because this does it,
- 1:46:11Speaker 5: because that's what you're worried about. Like back Johnson leaves
- 1:46:14Speaker 5: and the offenses. You know, but but this is what
- 1:46:16Speaker 5: I was thinking actually, And I'm sorry to cut you off,
- 1:46:18Speaker 5: because I was literally thinking about you last night when
- 1:46:20Speaker 5: I was watching this.
- 1:46:21Speaker 3: That's nice, you know, but it's like I was thinking about.
- 1:46:23Speaker 5: You know, it's like you get things up and running
- 1:46:27Speaker 5: and like the system is, you know, but once you
- 1:46:30Speaker 5: have to start changing out parts, is that when it starts.
- 1:46:32Speaker 5: Because all these guys were coached by Ben Johnson, they
- 1:46:35Speaker 5: were you know, the energy was kind of and so they're.
- 1:46:37Speaker 2: Able to continue that a little bit.
- 1:46:38Speaker 5: But as you start to get farther away, is this when,
- 1:46:41Speaker 5: right now we got to put a guy in and
- 1:46:42Speaker 5: a key role that hasn't really played, and now it's
- 1:46:44Speaker 5: going to start to get even more difficult.
- 1:46:46Speaker 1: But I was thinking about that last night.
- 1:46:48Speaker 3: They still look by the way, the offense that leads
- 1:46:50Speaker 3: the league in explosive plays Chicago bears Johnson. But yeah,
- 1:46:54Speaker 3: they they they the former play model, the Dan Campbell,
- 1:47:02Speaker 3: the Mike Rabel with the analytical whiz kid sidekick is
- 1:47:09Speaker 3: like my new favorite, like brain trust, Like normally you
- 1:47:12Speaker 3: know me, like I like the type hands right, like
- 1:47:15Speaker 3: I would hire Ben Johnson ten times out of ten.
- 1:47:18Speaker 3: But there's something to be said for the guy that's
- 1:47:21Speaker 3: played and Ben in the room and Ben in their
- 1:47:23Speaker 3: shoes and has that kind of bravado about him that
- 1:47:27Speaker 3: Rabel and Dan Campbell has. But then they're complimented by
- 1:47:32Speaker 3: stretch by, you know, people like that that can help
- 1:47:35Speaker 3: them with the nerd side of things.
- 1:47:37Speaker 4: And just hearing yesterday.
- 1:47:38Speaker 3: With Rabel with Cleveland coming up, and obviously he spent
- 1:47:42Speaker 3: the year last year with the Browns and talking a
- 1:47:44Speaker 3: little bit about adopting more analytics and like how the
- 1:47:48Speaker 3: Patriots have approached that and learning some of the things
- 1:47:51Speaker 3: from Cleveland, and it's been cool how open he is
- 1:47:55Speaker 3: to that side of things because not a lot of
- 1:47:57Speaker 3: former players turned coaches are that.
- 1:47:59Speaker 2: That's do you want to hear embracing things that are
- 1:48:02Speaker 2: bad about PU think about us?
- 1:48:05Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 1:48:05Speaker 2: I love the this is Isaac from Westfield says the
- 1:48:09Speaker 2: first thing, well, he says that these are things you
- 1:48:12Speaker 2: absolutely need to change. First, Patty from Agawam, this guy
- 1:48:16Speaker 2: is the most boring multos Schlept to ever call in.
- 1:48:19Speaker 2: Why do you consistently answer his calls as if we care?
- 1:48:21Speaker 2: It's his birthday? And then he went to training camp
- 1:48:24Speaker 2: once two the return from practice in locker room music,
- 1:48:28Speaker 2: whose brilliant idea was this? I want to die of
- 1:48:30Speaker 2: cringe every time I hear this.
- 1:48:32Speaker 4: That's one of the best parts.
- 1:48:34Speaker 2: Well, this is.
- 1:48:34Speaker 4: All violent disagreement with that the sponsors.
- 1:48:38Speaker 2: If I hear one more back to back, your father
- 1:48:41Speaker 2: and I would like you to stop asking us for
- 1:48:43Speaker 2: money in that smug FedEx voice, I'm gonna go insane
- 1:48:46Speaker 2: and bront workwear enough Fred, How much are these guys paying?
- 1:48:50Speaker 2: You get some new sponsors for Fred's lack of knowledge
- 1:48:55Speaker 2: with the current NFL landscape. Now, we all love Fred
- 1:48:58Speaker 2: and his good vies, but holy crap, does he.
- 1:49:00Speaker 4: Even watch I will not stand for that.
- 1:49:02Speaker 2: It's gonna be a bit about how many times he
- 1:49:04Speaker 2: butcher's player's name, what team a player is on, how
- 1:49:07Speaker 2: long they've been out of the league, et cetera. Can
- 1:49:09Speaker 2: somebody explain his job? Is he more of a producer
- 1:49:12Speaker 2: and more of a ViBe's guide? Who used to follow
- 1:49:15Speaker 2: the team? Five Christian in La So? Was he a troll?
- 1:49:20Speaker 2: Was it all a bit? He's slowly becoming somewhat normal
- 1:49:23Speaker 2: and you've let him off the hook without acknowledging it.
- 1:49:26Speaker 2: Six press conferences. If we wanted to hear Mike Vrabel
- 1:49:29Speaker 2: pretend he's not an alpha male a hole personality for
- 1:49:33Speaker 2: thirty seconds every week by kissing Karen Kregians. But we
- 1:49:37Speaker 2: tune in live on the radio or watch on YouTube.
- 1:49:39Speaker 2: Cut those boring filler segments from the show. If you
- 1:49:43Speaker 2: have any integrity, you will read this on air.
- 1:49:46Speaker 4: Oh wow, the challenge job. Yeah, and I didn't even
- 1:49:49Speaker 4: know you put that in the end.
- 1:49:50Speaker 2: I read it anyway, so it wasn't because of that
- 1:49:53Speaker 2: ending set.
- 1:49:54Speaker 4: I'm a little disappointed.
- 1:49:55Speaker 1: I feel left out flame my song, but I feel
- 1:49:57Speaker 1: I didn't get flamed that.
- 1:49:58Speaker 4: I feel left out everybody else?
- 1:49:59Speaker 2: Well, is there someone for you? Is there something to
- 1:50:02Speaker 2: somebody else? Prob rented in Edmonton, Thank you, brand Ben
- 1:50:05Speaker 2: a p you listener for fifteen years and during the
- 1:50:07Speaker 2: dark ages of nineteen to twenty four, I distinctly recall
- 1:50:10Speaker 2: a slow building, melancholic tone to Paul over the years,
- 1:50:15Speaker 2: but during this win streak, I've noticed Paul is happier
- 1:50:18Speaker 2: and more spirited than ever. I just wanted to point
- 1:50:20Speaker 2: this out, share my happiness for the team and Paul.
- 1:50:23Speaker 4: I really appreciate it. Not what I was looking for.
- 1:50:26Speaker 4: I was looking for the criticism, but it's pretty simple.
- 1:50:31Speaker 4: You win four games. It's I mean, we can try
- 1:50:34Speaker 4: to put as much lipstick on it as we can.
- 1:50:37Speaker 4: It's a little different when the quarterback is playing.
- 1:50:38Speaker 5: I don't know if I did it on air, but
- 1:50:40Speaker 5: I mean, I think part of the nuance too for
- 1:50:42Speaker 5: Paul is that they're winning the game with talent.
- 1:50:44Speaker 1: And you know it's not just.
- 1:50:46Speaker 4: No because you have the bad schedule, right, and let's
- 1:50:51Speaker 4: face it, not all five and twos are the same. Like,
- 1:50:53Speaker 4: you could be winning these games thirteen to ten because
- 1:50:56Speaker 4: the other team turns it over four times and you
- 1:50:57Speaker 4: only turn it over twice. That's on how they're winning
- 1:51:00Speaker 4: these games.
- 1:51:01Speaker 2: You were afraid of that in the beginning of the year.
- 1:51:04Speaker 4: Well, yeah, you didn't want that, And I didn't want
- 1:51:06Speaker 4: to win because of defense, right, because I don't think
- 1:51:09Speaker 4: it's a very sustainable model, right.
- 1:51:10Speaker 5: I mean, just used to play at the end of
- 1:51:12Speaker 5: the half, the touchdown throw to booty where Jason McCarty
- 1:51:15Speaker 5: is saying, like, oh, they're going to play for halftime.
- 1:51:16Speaker 4: They they they were going to play for half time.
- 1:51:19Speaker 4: They wanted to end half. He was probably right.
- 1:51:22Speaker 3: But it just happens that Drake May is on the field.
- 1:51:25Speaker 3: But right it is crazy waking up this morning after
- 1:51:29Speaker 3: the whole slate is over. Drake May is third in
- 1:51:33Speaker 3: betting odds for m.
- 1:51:34Speaker 4: VP of the league, and think that's ridiculous.
- 1:51:39Speaker 3: And the people that are in front of him are
- 1:51:41Speaker 3: Mahomes and Allen off of purely off a resume, like
- 1:51:45Speaker 3: it's just the expectation is is the next you know,
- 1:51:47Speaker 3: nine weeks, those guys will rise to the top.
- 1:51:50Speaker 4: It's not. He's played better than both of those guys,
- 1:51:52Speaker 4: and one of the guys that had sort of been
- 1:51:55Speaker 4: playing at that level, they take a big step back
- 1:51:57Speaker 4: last night, just one game. But he was bad. He
- 1:52:00Speaker 4: was horrible. You know, I would say, you can't ignore
- 1:52:02Speaker 4: what's going on in India with with both Jones and Taylor.
- 1:52:05Speaker 4: I think they both played an exceptionally high level. But
- 1:52:07Speaker 4: there's nobody that would argue right now, what do you
- 1:52:10Speaker 4: what do you mean Drake May's an m VP candidate.
- 1:52:14Speaker 1: Cam Newton might might have.
- 1:52:19Speaker 4: Can I just tell you, don't anybody tell Drake May
- 1:52:21Speaker 4: that that that's his guy?
- 1:52:23Speaker 3: Yeah, maybe motivate him. He's like that, he doesn't he take.
- 1:52:28Speaker 4: Someone's gotta let Cam know what Drake thinks of him,
- 1:52:31Speaker 4: and I think that would change another It does help.
- 1:52:33Speaker 3: You know, Baker playing bad on Monday Night football definitely
- 1:52:36Speaker 3: helps Drake may because everybody is the real last memory
- 1:52:39Speaker 3: of Drake May is Sunday night football in Buffalo. So
- 1:52:42Speaker 3: when you play poorly in these primetime showings they do,
- 1:52:46Speaker 3: that does.
- 1:52:47Speaker 2: Sway the vote.
- 1:52:48Speaker 4: I would even add in, you know Mike Evans going
- 1:52:50Speaker 4: down with the broken collar bone, like that's is that
- 1:52:53Speaker 4: what happened to him? That's going to be part of
- 1:52:55Speaker 4: that that.
- 1:52:56Speaker 2: I saw come out. I didn't know what was wrong
- 1:52:57Speaker 2: with him.
- 1:52:58Speaker 1: Man, what is it?
- 1:53:01Speaker 2: Everything works out?
- 1:53:04Speaker 15: Everything we're going.
- 1:53:06Speaker 3: Friend, Mike Evans is hurt. Michael Pennix has like a
- 1:53:08Speaker 3: bone bruise and his leg bruise.
- 1:53:11Speaker 4: I don't even know about that one.
- 1:53:12Speaker 3: And well, it was funny because I saw this yesterday
- 1:53:15Speaker 3: and Pennix is one of the Bar's boys. He Bar is
- 1:53:17Speaker 3: big Penis guy, and so I texted him and I
- 1:53:19Speaker 3: was like, so now the Patriots are going to face
- 1:53:22Speaker 3: Dylan Gabriel Kirk Cousins. The question Baker Mayfield without Mike, Yeah,
- 1:53:27Speaker 3: but Cousins, he can.
- 1:53:30Speaker 2: Spin it.
- 1:53:32Speaker 1: Places I want back to back lefty.
- 1:53:34Speaker 4: Okay, so then you'll face Penix on one leg.
- 1:53:38Speaker 1: Lefty quarterbacks. I just think that's a funny, weird and
- 1:53:40Speaker 1: that's true.
- 1:53:42Speaker 2: Joseph Pennsylvania.
- 1:53:43Speaker 1: What's up, Joe, Yojo?
- 1:53:45Speaker 17: You guys love the show and I love the entrance
- 1:53:50Speaker 17: music from the locker room.
- 1:53:51Speaker 1: Good, thank you, Joe.
- 1:53:55Speaker 17: But I have a question about just like the future
- 1:53:58Speaker 17: like Chase on him Booty, right, But first I want
- 1:54:00Speaker 17: to say, like, like with the Jets and the Dolphins,
- 1:54:02Speaker 17: it's nice that they only have one combined win, but
- 1:54:05Speaker 17: I actually hope they help us out and like become
- 1:54:07Speaker 17: like a traft game for some other like AFC playoff teams.
- 1:54:11Speaker 6: Yeah, I could help us down the road.
- 1:54:14Speaker 17: And so they're not drafting so high.
- 1:54:17Speaker 4: I mean, you just look at the Jets the last
- 1:54:18Speaker 4: two weeks. They get their team points consecutive weeks and
- 1:54:21Speaker 4: lost the games. Yeah like that that you know you
- 1:54:24Speaker 4: can you can win a game if you only allowed
- 1:54:26Speaker 4: their team points, right, So they could do exactly what
- 1:54:29Speaker 4: Joe says, they could trip somebody up.
- 1:54:31Speaker 17: Yep, sure, yeah, And my question is, so here's the scenario, guys,
- 1:54:36Speaker 17: really with the future of Chase On and Booty Chase
- 1:54:39Speaker 17: On only signed a one year deal. But let's say
- 1:54:41Speaker 17: we're draft draft next year, we're in the we're selected
- 1:54:45Speaker 17: mid twenties. Let's just say, do we resign Chase On
- 1:54:49Speaker 17: as our starter defensive end next year? And is Booty
- 1:54:53Speaker 17: like our X going forward?
- 1:54:54Speaker 14: To me?
- 1:54:54Speaker 17: He's our X going forward. If that's the case, what
- 1:54:57Speaker 17: position are we drafting? Think your biggest need?
- 1:55:00Speaker 6: You think?
- 1:55:01Speaker 2: I don't think like one. I mean, I don't think
- 1:55:04Speaker 2: one takes away the other. If you like Chase On
- 1:55:06Speaker 2: and you sign him, that doesn't mean if you're in
- 1:55:08Speaker 2: a position.
- 1:55:09Speaker 4: I don't think either one of those guys would eliminate
- 1:55:12Speaker 4: me from looking at that position in the draft. I
- 1:55:14Speaker 4: don't know what's going to be available. I don't you know, Yeah,
- 1:55:16Speaker 4: I don't.
- 1:55:16Speaker 5: I don't know either, but I you know, generally speaking
- 1:55:19Speaker 5: now a little bit of diving in on the draft,
- 1:55:21Speaker 5: like you just you need to get younger at the
- 1:55:22Speaker 5: edge position. It's a critical position. It's the only you know,
- 1:55:26Speaker 5: one of the big five that you don't feel like, well,
- 1:55:28Speaker 5: I guess receiver to where you don't really have the
- 1:55:30Speaker 5: young talent that that you're going to need long term.
- 1:55:32Speaker 5: So I, you know, I don't put receiver atop that list.
- 1:55:36Speaker 5: But if an opportunity to present itself to get somebody established,
- 1:55:39Speaker 5: I might be interested in that.
- 1:55:40Speaker 4: But there's a lot of things that you, I mean,
- 1:55:42Speaker 4: you might need to tackle next year. I mean, Morgan
- 1:55:44Speaker 4: Moses thirty four years old. I mean, I don't know
- 1:55:46Speaker 4: how much they think of Marcus Bryant. Maybe they think
- 1:55:49Speaker 4: he's great, and then that's not a worry at all.
- 1:55:52Speaker 4: Younger tight end, tight end is safety, lineback.
- 1:55:55Speaker 3: I mean, there's tough class for those some of these
- 1:55:58Speaker 3: positions in the first round at least, like edge is
- 1:56:01Speaker 3: really the one that everybody's been touting as.
- 1:56:03Speaker 4: The on your raft for a long time.
- 1:56:05Speaker 3: But just in terms of the talent and the draft,
- 1:56:07Speaker 3: like edge is, everyone's talking about this edge class already
- 1:56:12Speaker 3: like it's gonna be a really good one. So maybe
- 1:56:15Speaker 3: if they're picking like in the teens, and you know,
- 1:56:17Speaker 3: a couple go ahead of them, like, they might have
- 1:56:19Speaker 3: somebody fall to them that isn't necessarily supposed to be there,
- 1:56:22Speaker 3: and you might get Lucky.
- 1:56:24Speaker 2: Todd's in North Carolina.
- 1:56:25Speaker 4: I hate Todd, by the way.
- 1:56:31Speaker 2: Shout out to the Nashville Patriots fan club. Big party
- 1:56:36Speaker 2: in the Saturday night, they got after it at the
- 1:56:39Speaker 2: Live Oak bars there and.
- 1:56:43Speaker 4: Kiss some baby behind the velvet Roe.
- 1:56:46Speaker 2: Evan doesn't know I did. I did tell you, Evan,
