- 0:00Speaker 1: Last chance going out there getting a win and cementing
- 0:03Speaker 1: himself as a true champion on clay. Eventually he would
- 0:08Speaker 1: get that Golden Slam.
- 0:10Speaker 2: What a moment that was.
- 0:12Speaker 1: Here we are this is an honor for me and
- 0:15Speaker 1: I just want to say to be surrounded by these
- 0:17Speaker 1: Hall of famers, Lindsey Davenport, Jim Currier, Andre Agassy and Sam.
- 0:25Speaker 3: What a moment.
- 0:26Speaker 1: Andre, Thank you for joining us. Can't wait to work
- 0:29Speaker 1: with you. This, I know, is a real special relationship
- 0:32Speaker 1: both on the court. What does this place mean to
- 0:34Speaker 1: you when you see Chatrier? This used to be the
- 0:37Speaker 1: bull ring, right? What does all this bring back with you?
- 0:40Speaker 4: Oh? The bull rank came with some very strategic scheduling.
- 0:44Speaker 4: There was very few people I wanted to play in
- 0:45Speaker 4: the bull rink, and I tried to look at that
- 0:47Speaker 4: draw ahead of time and convince whoever I needed to
- 0:50Speaker 4: if I have to play that guy put me on
- 0:52Speaker 4: that court. Used to be quick, The sound was unique.
- 0:55Speaker 4: But everything's tough about winning this tournament from hour to hour, Right,
- 0:58Speaker 4: it can be different. Condition is what it asked to
- 1:00Speaker 4: your body? I mean Sam, by the way, it's so
- 1:03Speaker 4: nice being as tall as you. Yeah, we boosted your
- 1:06Speaker 4: chair uts.
- 1:08Speaker 3: I mean, this is what it's like. Huh No, it
- 1:10Speaker 3: feels great to be back. It feels great to be
- 1:12Speaker 3: back sitting next to you, then across the net.
- 1:14Speaker 2: Nice to be on the same side of net for
- 1:16Speaker 2: the For.
- 1:17Speaker 3: The record, we watch the battles and you guys, great job.
- 1:21Speaker 2: They're enjoying it.
- 1:22Speaker 4: And the only reason why it was in earlier t
- 1:24Speaker 4: T gave me the wrong dates of this tournament. Really, yeah,
- 1:28Speaker 4: so I'm on my fault. I would have been here
- 1:29Speaker 4: from the beginning.
- 1:30Speaker 3: Well, Craig Barry, We're gonna have to have a talk
- 1:32Speaker 3: with you later.
- 1:33Speaker 2: That actually fooled me for a second.
- 1:37Speaker 1: Everything, Lindsey, I just you you were out there playing
- 1:40Speaker 1: earlier today. What I love, what I've enjoyed is having
- 1:43Speaker 1: all these new faces with tennis joining us at TMT.
- 1:45Speaker 1: You guys have known each other for so long to
- 1:47Speaker 1: now be working together on camera. What's this like for
- 1:50Speaker 1: some Hall of famers that love this sport so much?
- 1:53Speaker 5: I think it's one of the highlights because when you
- 1:56Speaker 5: get to know people while you're playing on tour, sometimes
- 1:58Speaker 5: you don't get to know them that well. But when
- 2:00Speaker 5: you step away from the sport and you start discussing
- 2:02Speaker 5: the sport, you really kind of gravitate towards those who
- 2:05Speaker 5: love it, who understand it, who love to break it down,
- 2:08Speaker 5: who are tennis nerds.
- 2:09Speaker 3: And we've assembled a.
- 2:10Speaker 2: Great group here.
- 2:11Speaker 5: It's been an amazing almost two weeks here with some
- 2:14Speaker 5: of my favorite people in the sport. Now we've got
- 2:16Speaker 5: Andre here, it's pretty cool to pick his brain and
- 2:18Speaker 5: see what he's feeling going into crunch time here at
- 2:21Speaker 5: this tournament.
- 2:22Speaker 1: Yeah, just to let everybody know what our plans are
- 2:24Speaker 1: for the next few days as we have the men
- 2:26Speaker 1: semi finals and the finals is we just want to
- 2:28Speaker 1: hang out with you and watch tennis, and we're going
- 2:30Speaker 1: to have good conversations. We're going to let the moment breathe.
- 2:33Speaker 1: We're not going to overanalyze or overproduce. It's TNT.
- 2:36Speaker 3: We just go with the flow.
- 2:37Speaker 2: So over analyzing can't guarantee when as Oh, no.
- 2:42Speaker 1: We want you to go very deep. Why don't we
- 2:44Speaker 1: put up the Stella Artois order of play so we
- 2:46Speaker 1: can see what we have tomorrow and what a final
- 2:49Speaker 1: four we have Lorenzo Mussetti, one of the best on
- 2:52Speaker 1: play in the world, taking on Carlos Alcarez that I
- 2:55Speaker 1: know Andre Agassy cannot get enough up. And then the
- 2:58Speaker 1: night match, the number one man in the world, Yannick
- 3:01Speaker 1: Center taking on twenty four time major title champion Novak Djokovic.
- 3:07Speaker 1: That first match up, I have a feeling that you two, you're.
- 3:10Speaker 2: Going to be in the booth. That's the word we're hearing.
- 3:12Speaker 2: We're going to get in there and chop it up.
- 3:14Speaker 3: Let's give it a go. Man, this talks at tennis.
- 3:16Speaker 2: What are we going to be looking at when you
- 3:18Speaker 2: think about that matchup and you think about Alcaraz and Mussetti.
- 3:23Speaker 2: What's the first thing that pops into your head about
- 3:24Speaker 2: that matchup? Permission to make a point that is totally
- 3:28Speaker 2: off topic. Mussetti is the best looking guy left in
- 3:32Speaker 2: the drama.
- 3:33Speaker 3: Okay, start, he might be the best.
- 3:37Speaker 4: Looking guy in the whole tournament before this tournament started,
- 3:40Speaker 4: I think.
- 3:40Speaker 3: So.
- 3:40Speaker 4: I ran into him in New York and I said,
- 3:42Speaker 4: excuse me, I just I can't. I introduced myself. I said,
- 3:44Speaker 4: can I just take a picture with you? Because I
- 3:46Speaker 4: have to prove to my wife, who doesn't believe me
- 3:49Speaker 4: that every lady I've talked to says you're.
- 3:51Speaker 3: Easy on the eyes.
- 3:52Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yeah, so I took a picture next to
- 3:53Speaker 4: my big bald, ugly head, and it's like.
- 3:55Speaker 3: And I'll keep it fitte.
- 3:58Speaker 4: Yeah, you know, she she doesn't have a thing for Italians,
- 4:00Speaker 4: but she absolutely thought he was good looking to amazing.
- 4:03Speaker 4: So in addition to the attractiveness, so his game lives
- 4:09Speaker 4: up to his looks. Let's put it that way. I mean,
- 4:11Speaker 4: I think his game is a beautiful game. The artistry
- 4:14Speaker 4: in it, the creativity in it, the ability to make
- 4:17Speaker 4: magic happen seemingly out of nowhere, the ability to offset paces,
- 4:21Speaker 4: the ability to sort of generate. I mean, he brings
- 4:24Speaker 4: back to one hander like a dream, right Like, every
- 4:27Speaker 4: time he hits it, I just feel like, just can
- 4:29Speaker 4: you just see that again in slow motion? You know,
- 4:32Speaker 4: plays plays a little passive for me. He can't generate,
- 4:35Speaker 4: and he can't he likes matches to come to him though.
- 4:37Speaker 4: That's the only thing that scares me about the matchup.
- 4:40Speaker 4: You know, he tends to want to settle into a point.
- 4:42Speaker 4: He wants to defend his movement.
- 4:44Speaker 3: His epic.
- 4:44Speaker 4: His competitive competitiveness is epic, but his movement on clay
- 4:48Speaker 4: as falling flowers.
- 4:49Speaker 3: He's never really out of position. Even if you bleed him.
- 4:52Speaker 4: But the deal is he tends to get a little
- 4:54Speaker 4: bit passive early in the point and kind of let
- 4:56Speaker 4: the point unfold. And if you let him get away
- 4:58Speaker 4: with that, that's a problem. I thought, Tiaffo. Respect to
- 5:01Speaker 4: the American men. God, it's so nice to see the
- 5:03Speaker 4: tournament they've had. Yeah, but like Francis has a game
- 5:06Speaker 4: that can that can hurt Massti, right, but on clay
- 5:09Speaker 4: he only kind of gets one shot at that. Messti
- 5:12Speaker 4: is a movement that can offset that one intensity and
- 5:15Speaker 4: then turn it into a point that drags on and
- 5:17Speaker 4: just let the movement and the experience of making that
- 5:20Speaker 4: ball dance away from Tiafa. So he's taking heavier risks
- 5:23Speaker 4: sort of comes into factor. Well, that's not going to
- 5:24Speaker 4: be the case with Alcaraz. I mean if he lets
- 5:26Speaker 4: Alcaraz settle into dictating play, and if we have a
- 5:30Speaker 4: day like this where it's a little heavy, which by
- 5:32Speaker 4: the way, I think helps Alcaraz because Alcaraz can't seem
- 5:35Speaker 4: to govern himself. So if the weather is heavy enough
- 5:39Speaker 4: to govern him and he has the freedom to hit
- 5:41Speaker 4: out in his ball, I mean he can absolutely do
- 5:44Speaker 4: some damage with blows.
- 5:45Speaker 3: I mean his.
- 5:46Speaker 4: Left jab is like a straight right. It's pretty incredible
- 5:49Speaker 4: to watch.
- 5:50Speaker 3: I know that.
- 5:51Speaker 1: Look, Andre is one of those guys that asks for homework,
- 5:53Speaker 1: which is incredible.
- 5:54Speaker 3: Stop talking about me like I'm not here, you, Carlos Alcaraz.
- 5:59Speaker 1: You notice to change in the backhand from last year
- 6:02Speaker 1: to this year. He's so young but still improving. What
- 6:05Speaker 1: did you notice when you looked at the tap?
- 6:07Speaker 3: You didn't notice that I don't have the brains and
- 6:09Speaker 3: the eyes that you have.
- 6:10Speaker 4: No, no, no, I mean I do like the adjustment
- 6:12Speaker 4: he's made. I mean, so here's last year, right, he's
- 6:15Speaker 4: taking the ball up higher. His right arms a little bent, right,
- 6:18Speaker 4: so the racketead's.
- 6:19Speaker 3: Going up long before it comes down.
- 6:21Speaker 4: Now, when you've got a guy like this, like you
- 6:23Speaker 4: freeze it right there, that arms slightly bent.
- 6:25Speaker 3: He's taking it up pretty darn high. Now he has
- 6:28Speaker 3: to drop.
- 6:28Speaker 4: It, get underneath, pull through at the right hand and finish.
- 6:31Speaker 4: The dude is so fast twitched that really what he
- 6:36Speaker 4: has in his backhand there is just a variable that
- 6:39Speaker 4: he doesn't need to deal with.
- 6:40Speaker 3: This is a year, it's different. Look how he's taking
- 6:42Speaker 3: this ball rage back.
- 6:43Speaker 4: He takes it back with the straight right arm, his left,
- 6:46Speaker 4: his way under control.
- 6:48Speaker 3: So what happens when you take when I used to
- 6:50Speaker 3: take the ball. It's a great way to simpliz like
- 6:52Speaker 3: a golf swing.
- 6:53Speaker 4: Right you get to the top of your swing, you
- 6:55Speaker 4: have that pause, you drop in the slot, and then
- 6:57Speaker 4: you let it go.
- 6:58Speaker 3: He's getting himself to that spot right away.
- 7:01Speaker 4: And that's what I love about it because that not
- 7:02Speaker 4: only gives an option to sort of settle down some misfires,
- 7:06Speaker 4: but he can hold the ball longer. When you watch here,
- 7:09Speaker 4: like because of what he's doing. See his racket faces
- 7:11Speaker 4: already closed. That ball can travel deeper. That ball travels
- 7:14Speaker 4: deeper in the strike zone. They don't know if he's
- 7:16Speaker 4: gonna hold pull across or if he's gonna hold and
- 7:20Speaker 4: just go inside offline, and he can just leave his
- 7:23Speaker 4: opponent with like their jus stopping the ground. I mean,
- 7:25Speaker 4: look at this, the guy just he can go either
- 7:27Speaker 4: direction with it. Because intennis power and control comes from
- 7:32Speaker 4: time spent on racket with the ball.
- 7:34Speaker 3: I don't care how you swing.
- 7:35Speaker 4: If you swing like Nadal, if you swing through, you
- 7:38Speaker 4: can keep that ball in the racket a split second longer.
- 7:41Speaker 4: We're talking about nuances. You've got more power, you got
- 7:43Speaker 4: more control, and you've got more deceptions.
- 7:46Speaker 3: So you're talking about a guy who's crazy athletic.
- 7:48Speaker 4: The issue I had with taking it back like Novak
- 7:51Speaker 4: or taking it back like Algarez, my hands were so
- 7:54Speaker 4: tied to my feet that once I got in that position,
- 7:56Speaker 4: I felt like my feet stop and I needed every
- 7:59Speaker 4: bit of action with my These guys don't need it.
- 8:01Speaker 4: I mean, they're so damn fast, So just getting him
- 8:03Speaker 4: to simplify his feet are still going, but I think
- 8:06Speaker 4: it brought down a little bit of his blood pressure
- 8:07Speaker 4: and allows him to kind of hit the ball more.
- 8:10Speaker 4: Let's say consistently with the spray chart that you just
- 8:13Speaker 4: don't feel like he's gonna all of a sudden miss
- 8:14Speaker 4: one by mileth him.
- 8:15Speaker 1: It's been a joy also having Killer Cahill on our
- 8:18Speaker 1: staff as well, giving us some insight for Yannix Thater.
- 8:21Speaker 1: What a match we have afterwards? Again, this is an
- 8:23Speaker 1: incredible forsome center Djokovic. What do you think a kind
- 8:27Speaker 1: of a show we're going to get on shot?
- 8:28Speaker 2: Well, first of all, I mean these guys there's a
- 8:30Speaker 2: lot of similarities. You know. They both work with an
- 8:32Speaker 2: Italian coach named Ricardo Piatti when they were young, and
- 8:35Speaker 2: there's a lot of similarities in the balanced attack that
- 8:38Speaker 2: they bring the forehand in the back end. There's no
- 8:40Speaker 2: hole that you can really get to with these guys.
- 8:42Speaker 2: They can hurt you on both sides. But Novak's sort
- 8:45Speaker 2: of instinct he's more of a defensive minded first player. Instinctively,
- 8:50Speaker 2: He's worked on his offense and his offense has gotten
- 8:52Speaker 2: unbelievably good. Center is an offense first guy, right. I
- 8:57Speaker 2: think about it that Novak's sort of default mode is
- 8:59Speaker 2: lock down mode, and it's knockdown mode for Center. He
- 9:03Speaker 2: wants to knock you down. With the first chance that
- 9:05Speaker 2: he can get, He's gonna throw punches. Now. He's been
- 9:07Speaker 2: having his way with Novak that in their last last
- 9:11Speaker 2: five matches, Center's won four of those. The one match
- 9:14Speaker 2: the Novak beat him. They played twice in the same
- 9:17Speaker 2: week they played at the tour finals in twenty twenty three,
- 9:20Speaker 2: the end of the season. Granted, it's a faster court,
- 9:22Speaker 2: it's indoors, this is Klay. It's going to be slow
- 9:25Speaker 2: tomorrow because the roof looks like it might be closed,
- 9:27Speaker 2: or even if it's not, it's going to be cold.
- 9:30Speaker 2: Novak really nuked his forehand. He realized that he needed
- 9:33Speaker 2: to be the offensive player offense first. There will he
- 9:37Speaker 2: be able to hold that him. He has jumped his
- 9:39Speaker 2: four hand speed something like six or seven miles an
- 9:41Speaker 2: hour faster than the average, and that threw Center on
- 9:44Speaker 2: his heels. Now Center has beating him since then, so
- 9:47Speaker 2: that the secret's out. But I think Novak has to
- 9:49Speaker 2: play an offense first kind of match because for so
- 9:53Speaker 2: many years we just didn't see Novak.
- 9:55Speaker 3: Or Roger or Rafa for that matter, play.
- 9:57Speaker 2: Bad matches and beat themselves. Guess he's doing that Nowick
- 10:01Speaker 2: Center does not beat himself. Alcaaz has the highest peak
- 10:05Speaker 2: in men's tennis right now, but the highest consistent level
- 10:08Speaker 2: of tennis. That's Janick Centers and this guy Djokovic used
- 10:11Speaker 2: to have it, but he's been a little up and down.
- 10:13Speaker 3: This year.
- 10:13Speaker 2: Has been great to see him bring it back. But
- 10:15Speaker 2: Center has so much power. He's six foot four and
- 10:18Speaker 2: he moves great, and he's got that same type of
- 10:21Speaker 2: flexibility with the open stance swings and the slides double A.
- 10:25Speaker 2: I'm just glad we don't have to deal with this guys.
- 10:27Speaker 2: Jenner dude, good only one good thing about being olds
- 10:29Speaker 2: is we don't have to play those well.
- 10:30Speaker 4: And you know what's bad about being old is everybody
- 10:32Speaker 4: gets taller. He's only six three and a half. You
- 10:34Speaker 4: lost a half inch, right, But it is just to
- 10:38Speaker 4: add a touch. I mean, he couldn't agree more with what
- 10:39Speaker 4: you said. But Novak's deal, what he gets on the
- 10:42Speaker 4: tennis court has been always been a fascinating thing to me.
- 10:44Speaker 4: It's like his instinct is to go like a boxer
- 10:47Speaker 4: that wants to permission for a sports metaphor permission granted,
- 10:51Speaker 4: but he's like a boxer that wants to feel the
- 10:53Speaker 4: leather on his face.
- 10:54Speaker 3: He wants to hit. Take your best bunch. No, he
- 10:56Speaker 3: can handle it.
- 10:57Speaker 4: So he gets out there and he lets you throw
- 10:59Speaker 4: blows at it him and he fights it off. Then
- 11:01Speaker 4: he gets a little irritated, like he keeps throwing blows
- 11:04Speaker 4: at him.
- 11:05Speaker 3: Right. Then he goes, I got okay, I gotta go
- 11:07Speaker 3: in a lockdown defense. That's it.
- 11:09Speaker 4: And then he goes into his hyper like sonic defense
- 11:12Speaker 4: mode and he takes that kind of pounding and resist
- 11:15Speaker 4: it and score line is closed.
- 11:17Speaker 3: And then he gets a little pissed off at that. Yes,
- 11:19Speaker 3: and then he goes no, no, no, Now I'm gonna
- 11:21Speaker 3: bring in a little offense.
- 11:22Speaker 4: Then he sprinkles in the offense and the opponent says
- 11:25Speaker 4: to himselves, wait a second, I was on offense. I
- 11:28Speaker 4: went from hitting some winners to having to hit five
- 11:31Speaker 4: winners to win a point, to hitting no winners. Now
- 11:33Speaker 4: this guy's on offense. How the hell am I supposed
- 11:36Speaker 4: to win this tennis match? He just rips your heart out.
- 11:38Speaker 3: It's like he wants to beat your mom too, Right,
- 11:41Speaker 3: it's like the whole family, like the whole family and
- 11:43Speaker 3: one go.
- 11:44Speaker 4: So his choice when he plays, you know, center, is
- 11:47Speaker 4: real simple. Can he use his lockdown defense to stop
- 11:51Speaker 4: the arsenal of ciner I just you know, I mean
- 11:55Speaker 4: bet against Novak at your own peril. But if he
- 11:58Speaker 4: just goes out there to lockdownuntil he gets comfortable, he's
- 12:01Speaker 4: going to be facing somebody that can throw blows. It's
- 12:03Speaker 4: going to be like somebody rope a dooping Mike Tyson
- 12:08Speaker 4: in his prime.
- 12:08Speaker 3: Right, It's like, can't do it.
- 12:10Speaker 4: Then if he goes to offense, he needs to be
- 12:12Speaker 4: able to do offense better than center. So the question
- 12:15Speaker 4: is how is he going to balance that? I agree
- 12:17Speaker 4: he needs to come out aggressive. But even if he
- 12:19Speaker 4: comes out aggressive, is it going to be enough to
- 12:21Speaker 4: withstand the barage that's coming from the other side.
- 12:24Speaker 1: Oh, it's funny you were talking about he could just
- 12:27Speaker 1: fend everything off.
- 12:28Speaker 3: Sam and I snuck down to the court side seats
- 12:31Speaker 3: last night and we.
- 12:32Speaker 1: Watched that forty one hit rally Savansovich where it seemed
- 12:36Speaker 1: like there was multiple times where Alex was going to put.
- 12:39Speaker 3: It away and Novak just kept fighting.
- 12:41Speaker 1: I figured we could watch this route.
- 12:43Speaker 3: Yeah, and why did you have to sneak? They don't
- 12:44Speaker 3: let you in.
- 12:45Speaker 1: I don't have it like you do.
- 12:47Speaker 2: I'm new here.
- 12:48Speaker 3: Okay, this the rep can do all day.
- 12:50Speaker 4: The problem is he needs to have more of a
- 12:52Speaker 4: game plan than just this against Novak. Novak's not moving,
- 12:56Speaker 4: he's not getting doom physically, but they both with great
- 13:00Speaker 4: back ends, and I think Alex Asashas is the best
- 13:04Speaker 4: best best in the game possibly.
- 13:06Speaker 5: A time.
- 13:08Speaker 2: Good News.
- 13:08Speaker 3: Were only about halfway through the rally, but you see
- 13:12Speaker 3: that the first ball that goes to the forehand side,
- 13:14Speaker 3: the dude has to back up and gives Moveac complete
- 13:16Speaker 3: control the point. Although nobody has control the point of
- 13:19Speaker 3: the moment.
- 13:27Speaker 4: That's what drives me nuts. Him having to wait to
- 13:29Speaker 4: hit a forehand. I mean, you're in control of the point.
- 13:31Speaker 4: Oh look at these guys cover the territory. Oh, they
- 13:35Speaker 4: make me so glad I'm sitting here.
- 13:36Speaker 1: Yeah, left lindsay.
- 13:39Speaker 3: It was a moment he stood there when he soaked
- 13:41Speaker 3: in the crowd.
- 13:42Speaker 1: The umpire stopped the serf clock and at that moment,
- 13:46Speaker 1: Sam looked at me and said, that's it, Like that
- 13:48Speaker 1: was the moment where he took it. When you're facing
- 13:50Speaker 1: someone that has that much legacy behind them, that's another
- 13:54Speaker 1: part of this match. Center is so excellent. But Novak
- 13:57Speaker 1: has history on his side as well.
- 13:58Speaker 2: Yeah he does.
- 13:59Speaker 5: But I think the recent results also become pretty relevant
- 14:03Speaker 5: to the players in the locker room, and they'll see
- 14:06Speaker 5: how has Novak played the last six to twelve months,
- 14:08Speaker 5: What is he brought out to the court. They're going
- 14:11Speaker 5: to see a lot of injuries out there. Obviously, everybody
- 14:13Speaker 5: knows he's the greatest Grand Slam player we've had at
- 14:15Speaker 5: twenty four, going for twenty five.
- 14:17Speaker 2: But I don't think it.
- 14:19Speaker 5: Deters a player like Center who just seems to be
- 14:21Speaker 5: so focused on his goals and how he wants to
- 14:24Speaker 5: play out there earlier rounds. Yes, I think that makes
- 14:27Speaker 5: a big difference. I'm not sure in these last two
- 14:29Speaker 5: rounds it will.
- 14:30Speaker 2: You don't get to pick your draw, but I bet you,
- 14:32Speaker 2: in the heart of hearts, if you asked Novak would
- 14:34Speaker 2: you rather play Alcaraz than Center, he would take Alcaraz
- 14:37Speaker 2: all day long because of the variants, because Alcaraz can
- 14:40Speaker 2: kind of ride the wave up and down, and he
- 14:43Speaker 2: did that in Australia in the quarterfinals. Novak got hurt
- 14:47Speaker 2: and interactly and he was able to still work his
- 14:50Speaker 2: way through that match.
- 14:51Speaker 4: Totally agree, but not only even Additionally that Alcaz hits
- 14:56Speaker 4: the ball that's always coming up, which gives Noveak the
- 14:59Speaker 4: chance to laid downhill and get more aggressive.
- 15:01Speaker 3: I mean Center hits the bull that goes through.
- 15:03Speaker 4: We just watched whatever forty ball right, forty one forty
- 15:06Speaker 4: one ball rally. Those guys what let Novak off the hook?
- 15:09Speaker 4: I mean, at thirty eight, you got to say something
- 15:11Speaker 4: has to be different than when he was thirty two.
- 15:13Speaker 4: But what let him off the hook is every time
- 15:15Speaker 4: he then went to the forehand side, the red would
- 15:17Speaker 4: back up and then throw something in that went up again,
- 15:19Speaker 4: where Novak can take over controlling. That's not happening against Centner.
- 15:23Speaker 4: I mean there's no breathing. He don't know if he's
- 15:26Speaker 4: left handed or right handed. When he's throwing, blows off
- 15:28Speaker 4: either wings.
- 15:29Speaker 1: I mean you also mentioned Carlos the Olympics right here,
- 15:32Speaker 1: Novak Djokovich. Jovak Djokovic has not lost at Chatrier since
- 15:37Speaker 1: the quarterfinals in twenty twenty two to Rafa Nadal because
- 15:41Speaker 1: he pulled out against Caspar Rude. He made the run
- 15:43Speaker 1: Olympics here as well. We have fifteen major champions here
- 15:47Speaker 1: and Sam. It's pretty awesome this combination.
- 15:50Speaker 2: He beat Djokovic twice.
- 15:52Speaker 4: What's up with the ties, by the way, I mean,
- 15:54Speaker 4: I watch you for ten days and everybody and I
- 15:57Speaker 4: show up here and you're like wearing tie.
- 15:59Speaker 3: It's semifinal.
- 16:00Speaker 2: We gotta dress it up, you know.
- 16:01Speaker 1: To be honest, Andre, we were a little nervous.
- 16:04Speaker 3: I brought two ties, Andre, I'll give you one.
- 16:07Speaker 2: We didn't get that memo on this side of the table.
- 16:09Speaker 2: We didn't get the dress up.
- 16:10Speaker 1: Now, well, we wanted to dress up for the women's
- 16:12Speaker 1: semi finals. We wanted to make sure that they had
- 16:14Speaker 1: the honor. Why don't we do little business. Stella Artois
- 16:16Speaker 1: are perfect serve of the day, and it was Arena
- 16:19Speaker 1: Sablenka Lindsey.
- 16:21Speaker 3: Her game right now is top notch. Yeah, it is.
- 16:24Speaker 5: In The roof being closed definitely helped this part of
- 16:26Speaker 5: her game. She was a little off early on with
- 16:29Speaker 5: her serve and then.
- 16:30Speaker 2: It picked up.
- 16:30Speaker 5: Played one of the best sets of the tournament in
- 16:32Speaker 5: that third set.
- 16:33Speaker 3: The serve has become such a weapon.
- 16:35Speaker 5: The liability three years ago and she's worked so hard
- 16:38Speaker 5: to have her first strike tennis be the best in
- 16:40Speaker 5: women's tennis, whether it be the serve or the return.
- 16:43Speaker 5: Tough to defend against her power on any surface.
- 16:46Speaker 1: You're here and I got to ask Coco, Arena, what
- 16:48Speaker 1: are your initial thoughts.
- 16:50Speaker 5: My initial thoughts right off the bat is Sablenka and
- 16:53Speaker 5: how she's playing and trying to defend against that. Let's
- 16:56Speaker 5: wait to see what the weather brings. If the roof's
- 16:58Speaker 5: closed or open on Saturday, that could be a big
- 17:00Speaker 5: difference as well. Coco, the first week, the level that
- 17:03Speaker 5: she played probably not good enough to win this tournament.
- 17:06Speaker 5: The level that she's shown in the last three sets
- 17:08Speaker 5: that she's played, the third set.
- 17:09Speaker 2: Against Keys and the two sets.
- 17:11Speaker 5: Today we're talking about a much different golf.
- 17:13Speaker 1: And it was a joy to watch another American making
- 17:15Speaker 1: it to the finals for the women.
- 17:16Speaker 3: That's was very ramatically.
- 17:18Speaker 1: I love it social media. I believe we have some
- 17:22Speaker 1: posts or it might be a flashback actually April forty
- 17:27Speaker 1: seven years ago, Borg and that's really you.
- 17:31Speaker 3: That's me with a Kavasaki racket, if you can believe.
- 17:34Speaker 4: I think that's Kawasaki. Just turned eight years old and
- 17:37Speaker 4: something like that. It's still my dad's haircut where he
- 17:39Speaker 4: stuck a bowl over my head, a little bit of
- 17:42Speaker 4: for real, yeah, oh yeah, and you don't you got
- 17:45Speaker 4: it too?
- 17:45Speaker 1: And you actually used a ball bowl because I've always
- 17:48Speaker 1: heard it was a bulk and I didn't know there
- 17:49Speaker 1: was actually a bowl.
- 17:50Speaker 4: I want to know how critical my dad was talking
- 17:52Speaker 4: about turning me into some kind of tortured perfections. This paper,
- 17:56Speaker 4: this picture came out in the paper, and he's like,
- 17:58Speaker 4: look at when Bord returned survey ends his knees.
- 18:00Speaker 3: Look at your knees. Oh my god. I was like,
- 18:03Speaker 3: oh my god.
- 18:04Speaker 4: So every time I look at that picture, I'm like,
- 18:06Speaker 4: why am I standing so straight?
- 18:08Speaker 2: Aren't you wearing a Jimmy Connors brand shirt. There is
- 18:11Speaker 2: like the.
- 18:11Speaker 3: JC man, I'm sprouting his hair.
- 18:13Speaker 2: You got the Connor's hair and that the tube socks
- 18:18Speaker 2: for the raid Allan King Tennis tournament.
- 18:19Speaker 3: He's come to town once a year in Vega. Cool.
- 18:21Speaker 1: Shout out to the great city of Las Vegas. Two
- 18:24Speaker 1: of the best to ever do it. Tomorrow it is
- 18:26Speaker 1: going to be the men's semifinal. Cannot wait to watch
- 18:29Speaker 1: those stars in action, sexiest spent alive.
- 18:33Speaker 2: Here we go.
- 18:34Speaker 1: Somebody let Mussetti know, just don't let it throw A
- 18:37Speaker 1: minute before People did. Yeah, People Magazine hone may or
- 18:41Speaker 1: may not be a real People Magazine cover up.
- 18:44Speaker 3: Yeah, I still said at first.
- 18:47Speaker 1: The rain has set the tempo here in Paris. We
- 18:49Speaker 1: are going to go stay dry and we will see
- 18:51Speaker 1: you tomorrow as we get ready for the men's semi
- 18:54Speaker 1: final at Roland Garros, the Cathedral of Clay, the beautiful
- 18:58Speaker 1: city of Paris will wait one more night as Agacy Davenport,
- 19:01Speaker 1: Courier and Query will join.
- 19:03Speaker 3: Me on the desk.
- 19:04Speaker 1: Love you guys, see you soon. We are the center
- 19:07Speaker 1: of the universe and we can't wait to see you tomorrow.
