  Hey,

  thanks,

• 1:21
  It's
• 1:21
  good
• 1:21
  to
• 1:22
  be

  back

  here.
• 1:22
  Yeah,
• 1:23
  I
• 1:23
  was
• 1:23
  shocked.
• 1:23
  I
• 1:24

• 1:24
  I
• 1:24
  looked
• 1:25
  at

• 1:25

• 1:25

• 1:25
  I
• 1:25

  research
• 1:26
  for
• 1:26
  the
• 1:26

• 1:27
  and
• 1:27
  it's
• 1:27
  been
• 1:27
  almost
• 1:27
  four
• 1:28
  years
• 1:29
  since
• 1:29
  you've
• 1:29
  been
• 1:29
  on

  the

• 1:30
  which
• 1:30
  kind
• 1:30
  of
• 1:31
  blows
• 1:31
  my
• 1:31
  mind.
• 1:31
  And
• 1:31
  we
• 1:32
  were
• 1:32
  talking
• 1:32
  before
• 1:32
  we
• 1:32
  started

• 1:33
  I
• 1:33
  think
• 1:33
  the
• 1:33
  last
• 1:33
  time
• 1:35
  we
• 1:35
  were
• 1:35
  together
• 1:36
  in
• 1:36
  the
• 1:36
  same
• 1:36
  place
• 1:36
  was
• 1:37
  probably
• 1:37
  the
• 1:37
  last
• 1:38
  AFTA
• 1:39
  show
• 1:39
  in
• 1:39
  Salt
• 1:39
  Lake
• 1:40
  City.
• 1:40
  Right.
• 1:41
  Kind
• 1:41
  of
• 1:41
  slightly
• 1:42
  on
• 1:42
  the
• 1:42
  other
• 1:42
  side
• 1:42
  of
• 1:42
  COVID
• 1:43
  But
• 1:44
  to
• 1:44
  say
• 1:44
  that
• 1:44
  there's
• 1:44
  been
• 1:45
  a
• 1:45
  fair
• 1:45
  amount
• 1:45
  of
• 1:45
  water
• 1:45
  under
• 1:45
  the
• 1:46
  bridge
• 1:46
  for
• 1:46
  you
• 1:46
  is
• 1:47
  an
• 1:47
  understatement.
• 1:47
  You
• 1:47
  want
• 1:47
  to
• 1:47
  catch
• 1:48
  everybody
• 1:48
  up?
• 1:50
  Yeah.
• 1:51
  Shoot.
• 1:51
  I
• 1:51
  didn't
• 1:51
  realize
• 1:51
  it
• 1:52
  had
• 1:52
  been
• 1:52
  that
• 1:52
  long.
• 1:53
  That's.
• 1:55
  Oh
• 1:56
  yeah,
• 1:56
  that
• 1:56
  has
• 1:57
  been
• 1:57
  a
• 1:57
  while
• 1:57
  now
• 1:57
  I'm
• 1:58
  thinking
• 1:58
  about
• 1:58
  it.
• 1:58
  Yeah,
• 1:59
  we,
• 2:00
  my
• 2:00
  wife
• 2:00
  and
• 2:01
  I
• 2:01
  moved.
• 2:02
  We
• 2:02
  now
• 2:02
  live
• 2:02
  up
• 2:03
  kind
• 2:04
  of
• 2:04
  by
• 2:04
  Yellowstone
• 2:06
  still
• 2:07
  in
• 2:07
  Wyoming.
• 2:07
  But
• 2:07
  we're
• 2:08
  up
• 2:08
  by
• 2:08
  Yellowstone
• 2:09
  now,
• 2:09
  so.
• 2:10
  But
• 2:11
  I'm
• 2:11
  far
• 2:11
  enough
• 2:11
  away
• 2:11
  that
• 2:12
  the
• 2:12
  tourists
• 2:13
  aren't
• 2:13
  too
• 2:13
  bad.
• 2:14
  Nobody's
• 2:14
  trying
• 2:14
  to
• 2:15
  pet
• 2:15
  buffalo
• 2:15
  near
• 2:15
  me.
• 2:16
  So
• 2:16
  I.
• 2:16
  We
• 2:16
  got
• 2:16
  that
• 2:16
  going
• 2:17
  for
• 2:17
  us.
• 2:19
  And
• 2:19
  then.
• 2:20
  Yeah,
• 2:20
  I
• 2:20
  was.
• 2:21
  Shoot,
• 2:21
  I
• 2:21
  was
• 2:22
  still
• 2:22
  teaching
• 2:22
  high
• 2:23
  school
• 2:23
  last
• 2:24
  time
• 2:24
  we
• 2:24
  talked
• 2:25
  as
• 2:25
  the
• 2:25
  day
• 2:25
  job
• 2:26
  because,
• 2:26
  you
• 2:26
  know,
• 2:26
  fly
• 2:26
  fishing
• 2:27
  doesn't
• 2:27
  always
• 2:27
  pay
• 2:28
  well
• 2:28
  enough
• 2:28
  for
• 2:29
  you
• 2:29
  to
• 2:29
  be
• 2:30
  full
• 2:31
  time
• 2:31
  in
• 2:31
  the
• 2:31
  industry.
• 2:31
  So
• 2:32
  I
• 2:32
  was
• 2:32
  teaching
• 2:32
  high
• 2:32
  school
• 2:33
  for
• 2:33
  a
• 2:33
  while,
• 2:34
  but
• 2:34
  I
• 2:34
  quit
• 2:34
  that.
• 2:35
  What
• 2:35
  is
• 2:35
  it,
• 2:35
  2025?
• 2:37
  When
• 2:38
  did
• 2:38
  I
• 2:38
  quit?
• 2:38
  2024.
• 2:41
  Because
• 2:41
  I
• 2:42
  ended
• 2:42
  up
• 2:42
  having
• 2:43
  an
• 2:43
  opportunity
• 2:43
  to
• 2:43
  go
• 2:44
  full
• 2:44
  time
• 2:44
  with
• 2:45
  Ventures
• 2:45
  Flyco,
• 2:46
  where
• 2:47
  I'm
• 2:47
  the
• 2:47
  director
• 2:48
  of
• 2:48
  content.
• 2:49
  So
• 2:49
  I'm
• 2:50
  helping
• 2:50
  to
• 2:50
  run
• 2:50
  our
• 2:51
  media
• 2:52
  side
• 2:52
  of
• 2:52
  the
• 2:52
  company.
• 2:53
  I
• 2:54
  do
• 2:54
  our
• 2:54
  podcast
• 2:55
  every
• 2:55
  week,
• 2:55
  the
• 2:55
  Untangled
• 2:56
  Podcast.
• 2:57
  And
• 2:57
  then
• 2:58
  we've
• 2:58
  got
• 2:58
  all
• 2:59
  our
• 2:59
  YouTube
• 2:59
  content
• 2:59
  that
• 3:00
  we're
• 3:00
  pushing
• 3:00
  out.
• 3:01
  Beginner
• 3:02
  fly
• 3:02
  fishing
• 3:02
  masterclass,
• 3:04
  Fly
• 3:04
  selection
• 3:05
  masterclass,
• 3:06
  Fly
• 3:06
  tying
• 3:06
  Masterclass.
• 3:07
  And
• 3:08
  we're
• 3:08
  working.
• 3:09
  In
• 3:09
  fact,
• 3:09
  just
• 3:10
  today
• 3:10
  I
• 3:10
  was
• 3:10
  editing
• 3:11
  the
• 3:11
  beginner
• 3:11
  nymphing
• 3:12
  masterclass.
• 3:14
  So
• 3:14
  we've
• 3:15
  got
• 3:15
  a
• 3:15
  lot
• 3:15
  of
• 3:15
  content
• 3:16
  like
• 3:16
  that
• 3:16
  coming
• 3:16
  out
• 3:17
  and.
• 3:19
  Oh,
• 3:19
  shoot.
• 3:19
  What
• 3:20
  else?
• 3:20
  Wife
• 3:21
  and
• 3:21
  I
• 3:21
  just
• 3:21
  had
• 3:21
  a
• 3:21
  baby
• 3:22
  in
• 3:22
  June.
• 3:23
  No,
• 3:23
  she
• 3:23
  was
• 3:23
  born
• 3:23
  in
• 3:24
  May.
• 3:24
  She
• 3:24
  was
• 3:24
  due
• 3:24
  in
• 3:24
  June.
• 3:25
  I
• 3:25
  keep
• 3:25
  getting
• 3:25
  it
• 3:25
  mixed
• 3:26
  up.
• 3:26
  She
• 3:26
  was
• 3:27
  due
• 3:27
  in
• 3:27
  June,
• 3:27
  but
• 3:27
  she
• 3:28
  came
• 3:28
  early.
• 3:29
  So
• 3:29
  I've
• 3:29
  got
• 3:29
  these
• 3:29
  two
• 3:30
  dates
• 3:30
  in
• 3:30
  my
• 3:30
  head
• 3:30
  that
• 3:31
  I
• 3:31
  can
• 3:31
  never
• 3:31
  keep.
• 3:31
  Straight.
• 3:34
  But
• 3:34
  that's
• 3:34
  the
• 3:34
  first
• 3:35
  kid
• 3:35
  for
• 3:35
  us,
• 3:35
  and
• 3:35
  we're
• 3:36
  just
• 3:36
  kind
• 3:36
  of
• 3:36
  barely
• 3:37
  surviving.
• 3:38
  So
• 3:39
  I
• 3:39
  think
• 3:40
  that
• 3:40
  catches
• 3:40
  us
• 3:40
  up
• 3:41
  pretty
• 3:41
  well,
• 3:41
  though
• 3:41
  I
• 3:42
  can't
• 3:42
  think
• 3:42
  anything
• 3:43
  else
• 3:43
  too
• 3:43
  major
• 3:44
  that's
• 3:44
  happened.
• 3:45
  Yeah,
• 3:45
  but
• 3:45
  you're
• 3:45
  not
• 3:45
  with
• 3:46
  Mid
• 3:46
  Current
• 3:46
  anymore,
• 3:47
  and
• 3:47
  you're
• 3:47
  officially
• 3:47
  cool
• 3:48
  because
• 3:48
  you're
• 3:48
  a
• 3:48

• 3:49
  I
• 3:49
  mean,
• 3:49
  you
• 3:49
  didn't
• 3:50
  tell
• 3:50
  people
• 3:50
  that.
• 3:51
  Well,
• 3:52
  I
• 3:52
  forgot.
• 3:52
  Yeah,
• 3:54
  no,
• 3:54
  I
• 3:54
  was
• 3:54
  with
• 3:54
  Mid
• 3:54
  Current
• 3:55
  for
• 3:56
  five
• 3:56
  years,
• 3:58
  and
• 3:59
  then
• 3:59
  it
• 3:59
  was
• 3:59
  just
• 4:00
  one
• 4:00
  of
• 4:00
  those
• 4:00
  instances
• 4:01
  where
• 4:01
  it
• 4:01
  was
• 4:01
  just
• 4:02
  time
• 4:03
  to
• 4:03
  move
• 4:03
  on,
• 4:03
  time
• 4:04
  to
• 4:05
  look
• 4:05
  for
• 4:05
  something
• 4:05
  a
• 4:06
  little
• 4:06
  bit
• 4:06
  different.
• 4:06
  Because
• 4:07
  at
• 4:07
  Mid
• 4:07
  Current,
• 4:07
  I
• 4:08
  was
• 4:08
  doing
• 4:08
  Daily
• 4:09
  news
• 4:10
  every
• 4:11
  single
• 4:11
  day.
• 4:13
  Saturdays
• 4:13
  and
• 4:13
  Sundays,
• 4:14
  Christmas
• 4:14
  Day,
• 4:15
  New
• 4:15
  Year's
• 4:15
  Day,
• 4:15
  every
• 4:16
  day
• 4:16
  for
• 4:17
  five
• 4:17
  years
• 4:18
  and
• 4:19
  tons
• 4:19
  of
• 4:19
  fun.
• 4:19
  I
• 4:20
  got
• 4:20
  to
• 4:20
  meet
• 4:20
  a
• 4:20
  lot
• 4:20
  of
• 4:20
  folks,
• 4:21
  make
• 4:21
  some
• 4:22
  good
• 4:22
  relationships
• 4:23
  in
• 4:23
  the
• 4:23
  industry,
• 4:23
  but
• 4:24
  after
• 4:24
  a
• 4:24
  while,
• 4:24
  it
• 4:26
  kind
• 4:26
  of
• 4:26
  wears
• 4:26
  on
• 4:26
  you
• 4:27
  doing
• 4:27
  daily
• 4:27
  stuff.
• 4:28
  And
• 4:28
  I
• 4:28
  wanted
• 4:28
  to
• 4:29
  step
• 4:29
  away
• 4:29
  from
• 4:29
  the
• 4:30
  daily
• 4:30
  grind
• 4:30
  a
• 4:31
  little
• 4:31
  bit.
• 4:32
  And
• 4:32
  Flylords
• 4:33
  is
• 4:33
  a
• 4:34
  really
• 4:35
  awesome
• 4:35
  opportunity.
• 4:36
  Came
• 4:36
  along
• 4:36
  at
• 4:36
  the
• 4:37
  right
• 4:37
  time
• 4:37
  and
• 4:38
  I
• 4:38
  get
• 4:38
  to
• 4:39
  rant
• 4:40
  about
• 4:40
  whatever
• 4:40
  I
• 4:40
  want
• 4:41
  over
• 4:41
  there
• 4:41
  now.
• 4:42
  So
• 4:42
  they.
• 4:43
  They
• 4:43
  get
• 4:43
  to
• 4:43
  publish
• 4:44
  my
• 4:44
  musings
• 4:45
  that
• 4:45
  we.
• 4:45
  We
• 4:45
  pretend
• 4:46
  are
• 4:46
  worth
• 4:46
  reading.
• 4:47
  And
• 4:49
  I
• 4:49
  still
• 4:49
  do
• 4:50
  the
• 4:50
  gear
• 4:51
  reviews
• 4:52
  over
• 4:52
  there
• 4:52
  as
• 4:52
  well.
• 4:52
  So
• 4:53
  I'm.
• 4:53
  I'm
• 4:53
  the
• 4:54
  news
• 4:54
  and
• 4:54
  Gear
• 4:54
  editor
• 4:55
  is
• 4:55
  my
• 4:55
  official
• 4:55
  title
• 4:56
  over
• 4:56
  there
• 4:56
  at
• 4:56
  flylords.
• 4:58
  Very,
• 4:58
  very
• 4:58
  cool.
• 4:58
  Yeah,
• 4:59
  it's
• 4:59
  an
• 4:59
  interesting
• 4:59
  thing,
• 5:00
  right?
• 5:00
  Because,
• 5:00
  I
• 5:00
  mean,
• 5:00
  you
• 5:00
  know,
• 5:00
  you
• 5:01
  were
• 5:01
  super
• 5:01
  nice
• 5:01
  to
• 5:01
  me
• 5:02
  because
• 5:02
  I
• 5:02
  just
• 5:02
  reached
• 5:02
  out.
• 5:02
  I
• 5:03
  mean,
• 5:03
  this
• 5:03
  is
• 5:03
  how
• 5:03
  we
• 5:03
  met
• 5:03
  everybody
• 5:04
  as
• 5:04
  I
• 5:05
  was
• 5:05
  starting
• 5:05
  the
• 5:05
  podcast
• 5:06
  and
• 5:06
  I
• 5:06
  was
• 5:06
  like,
• 5:06
  hey,
• 5:06
  you
• 5:07
  know,
• 5:07
  if
• 5:07
  this
• 5:07
  is
• 5:07
  helpful
• 5:07
  to
• 5:08
  Your
• 5:08
  viewers
• 5:09
  share
• 5:09
  my
• 5:09
  links.
• 5:10
  And
• 5:10
  so
• 5:10
  we
• 5:10
  kind
• 5:10
  of
• 5:10
  developed
• 5:11
  a
• 5:11
  relationship
• 5:11
  by
• 5:11
  me
• 5:12
  just
• 5:12
  flipping
• 5:12
  you
• 5:13
  links
• 5:13
  to
• 5:13
  my
• 5:13
  RSS
• 5:14
  feed
• 5:14
  when
• 5:14
  I
• 5:14
  thought
• 5:14
  I
• 5:15
  had
• 5:15
  something
• 5:15
  that
• 5:15
  was
• 5:15
  halfway
• 5:16
  decent
• 5:16
  for
• 5:16
  you
• 5:17
  to
• 5:17
  share.
• 5:17
  Right.
• 5:18
  Yeah.
• 5:19
  Yeah.
• 5:20
  And
• 5:20
  it
• 5:20
  snowballed,
• 5:21
  so.
• 5:22
  Yeah.
• 5:23
  Which
• 5:23
  is
• 5:23
  really
• 5:23
  good.
• 5:24
  Yeah.
• 5:24
  Yeah.
• 5:24
  It's
• 5:24
  kind
• 5:24
  of
• 5:24
  crazy.
• 5:25
  We
• 5:25
  will
• 5:25
  probably,
• 5:26
  by
• 5:26
  Labor
• 5:26
  Day,
• 5:27
  have
• 5:27
  a
• 5:27
  thousand
• 5:28
  episodes.
• 5:29
  Oh,
• 5:29
  wow.
• 5:30
  So
• 5:31
  I
• 5:31
  feel
• 5:31
  your
• 5:31
  pain
• 5:31
  on
• 5:32
  the,
• 5:32
  like,
• 5:32
  doing
• 5:32
  stuff
• 5:32
  every
• 5:33
  day
• 5:33
  because,
• 5:33
  you
• 5:33
  know,
• 5:33
  putting
• 5:33
  out
• 5:34
  two
• 5:34
  or
• 5:34
  three
• 5:34
  interviews
• 5:34
  a
• 5:35
  month
• 5:35
  and
• 5:35
  then
• 5:35
  probably
• 5:36
  two
• 5:36
  to
• 5:36
  three
• 5:36
  pieces
• 5:37
  of
• 5:37
  short
• 5:37
  content
• 5:37
  a
• 5:37
  week.
• 5:39
  It's
• 5:40
  tiring.
• 5:40
  It's
• 5:41
  a
• 5:41
  lot.
• 5:41
  Yeah.
• 5:42
  It
• 5:42
  wears
• 5:43
  you
• 5:43
  out
• 5:43
  more
• 5:43
  than
• 5:44
  you'd
• 5:44
  think.
• 5:44
  And
• 5:44
  I
• 5:44
  don't
• 5:45
  think.
• 5:46
  In
• 5:46
  fact,
• 5:46
  I
• 5:46
  don't
• 5:47
  think.
• 5:47
  I
• 5:48
  know.
• 5:49
  Folks
• 5:49
  don't
• 5:51
  understand
• 5:52
  the
• 5:53
  creative
• 5:53
  drain.
• 5:54
  They
• 5:54
  just
• 5:54
  think,
• 5:55
  oh,
• 5:55
  you're
• 5:55
  making
• 5:55
  content
• 5:56
  all
• 5:56
  day.
• 5:56
  That's
• 5:56
  fun
• 5:56
  and
• 5:57
  easy.
• 5:57
  It.
• 5:59
  That's
• 5:59
  fun
• 5:59
  and
• 6:00
  easy
• 6:00
  if
• 6:00
  you
• 6:00
  want
• 6:01
  your
• 6:01
  content
• 6:01
  to
• 6:01
  suck.
• 6:04
  But
• 6:04
  it's.
• 6:05
  It's
• 6:05
  a
• 6:05
  lot
• 6:05
  of
• 6:05
  hard
• 6:06
  work
• 6:06
  when
• 6:06
  you're
• 6:07
  trying
• 6:07
  to
• 6:07
  make
• 6:07
  content
• 6:08
  that's
• 6:08
  actually
• 6:09
  going
• 6:09
  to
• 6:09
  help
• 6:09
  some
• 6:09
  people
• 6:10
  and
• 6:10
  isn't
• 6:10
  just
• 6:11
  something
• 6:11
  for
• 6:12
  them
• 6:12
  to
• 6:12
  waste
• 6:12
  the
• 6:12
  time
• 6:12
  with
• 6:13
  while
• 6:13
  they're
• 6:13
  sitting
• 6:13
  on
• 6:13
  the
• 6:13
  toilet.
• 6:15
  Yeah.
• 6:15
  It's
• 6:15
  kind
• 6:16
  of
• 6:16
  funny.
• 6:16
  I
• 6:16
  mean,
• 6:16
  I
• 6:17
  would
• 6:17
  say,
• 6:17
  you
• 6:17
  know,
• 6:18
  I
• 6:18
  haven't
• 6:18
  done
• 6:19
  any
• 6:19
  kind
• 6:19
  of
• 6:19
  official
• 6:20
  time
• 6:20
  benchmarking
• 6:21
  in
• 6:21
  a
• 6:21
  while,
• 6:21
  but
• 6:21
  I
• 6:21
  would
• 6:21
  say
• 6:22
  pretty
• 6:22
  easy,
• 6:23
  you
• 6:23
  know,
• 6:24
  for
• 6:24
  an
• 6:24
  interview
• 6:24
  on
• 6:24
  the
• 6:24
  Articulate
• 6:25
  Fly
• 6:25
  to
• 6:25
  take,
• 6:26
  you
• 6:27
  know,
• 6:27
  12
• 6:27
  to
• 6:27
  15
• 6:28
  hours
• 6:28
  to
• 6:28
  produce
• 6:29
  soup
• 6:29
  to
• 6:29
  nuts.
• 6:29
  Right.
• 6:31
  You
• 6:31
  know,
• 6:31
  by
• 6:31
  the
• 6:31
  time,
• 6:32
  you
• 6:32
  know,
• 6:32
  and
• 6:32
  you
• 6:33
  probably
• 6:33
  do
• 6:33
  this
• 6:33
  in
• 6:33
  a
• 6:33
  different
• 6:34
  way
• 6:34
  for
• 6:34
  Untangled.
• 6:35
  We'll
• 6:35
  talk
• 6:35
  about
• 6:35
  in
• 6:36
  a
• 6:36
  minute.
• 6:36
  But,
• 6:36
  you
• 6:37
  know,
• 6:37
  if
• 6:37
  you
• 6:37
  start
• 6:37
  out
• 6:37
  and
• 6:38
  you
• 6:38
  need
• 6:38
  to
• 6:38
  do
• 6:38
  a
• 6:38
  little
• 6:38
  bit
• 6:38
  of
• 6:39
  research.
• 6:39
  Right.
• 6:40
  You
• 6:40
  know,
• 6:41
  like,
• 6:41
  I
• 6:41
  try
• 6:41
  to
• 6:41
  not
• 6:41
  ask
• 6:42
  people
• 6:42
  the
• 6:42
  same
• 6:42
  questions
• 6:43
  that
• 6:43
  got
• 6:43
  asked
• 6:43
  on
• 6:44
  another
• 6:44
  podcast
• 6:44
  last
• 6:45
  week.
• 6:46
  Yeah.
• 6:46
  And
• 6:46
  then
• 6:47
  you
• 6:47
  want
• 6:47
  a
• 6:47
  story
• 6:47
  arc
• 6:47
  and
• 6:48
  then
• 6:48
  you,
• 6:48
  you
• 6:48
  know,
• 6:48
  you
• 6:49
  record
• 6:49
  and
• 6:49
  then
• 6:49
  you
• 6:49
  want
• 6:49
  to
• 6:50
  edit
• 6:51
  and,
• 6:51
  you
• 6:51
  know,
• 6:51
  load
• 6:52
  the
• 6:52
  CMS
• 6:52
  and
• 6:52
  do
• 6:52
  all
• 6:53
  the
• 6:53
  promotion.
• 6:53
  It's
• 6:53
  not
• 6:54
  hard
• 6:54
  to
• 6:54
  spend,
• 6:56
  you
• 6:56
  know,
• 6:56
  a
• 6:57
  dozen
• 6:57
  hours
• 6:58
  on
• 6:58
  an
• 6:58
  hour,
• 6:58
  hour
• 6:59
  and
• 6:59
  a
• 6:59
  half
• 6:59
  long
• 6:59
  interview,
• 6:59
  for
• 7:00
  sure.
• 7:00
  Yeah,
• 7:01
  no,
• 7:01
  it's
• 7:02
  not.
• 7:02
  It's.
• 7:03
  I
• 7:03
  mean,
• 7:04
  shoot,
• 7:05
  on
• 7:05
  a
• 7:05
  good
• 7:06
  week,
• 7:06
  I
• 7:06
  can
• 7:07
  put
• 7:07
  an
• 7:07
  episode
• 7:07
  of
• 7:07
  Untangled
• 7:08
  out
• 7:08
  in
• 7:08
  two
• 7:09
  days.
• 7:10
  That's
• 7:11
  two
• 7:11
  full
• 7:11
  work
• 7:11
  days.
• 7:13
  So
• 7:13
  usually
• 7:13
  it
• 7:13
  takes
• 7:14
  me
• 7:14
  two
• 7:14
  and
• 7:14
  a
• 7:14
  half,
• 7:15
  three,
• 7:15
  just
• 7:15
  to
• 7:16
  get
• 7:16
  everything
• 7:16
  dialed
• 7:17
  right
• 7:17
  the
• 7:18
  way
• 7:18
  that
• 7:18
  I
• 7:18
  want
• 7:18
  it.
• 7:20
  So.
• 7:20
  And
• 7:20
  it's
• 7:20
  a
• 7:21
  short
• 7:21
  show.
• 7:21
  It's
• 7:21
  only
• 7:23
  usually
• 7:24
  45
• 7:25
  minutes
• 7:25
  to
• 7:25
  an
• 7:25
  hour,
• 7:26
  and
• 7:26
  it's
• 7:26
  once
• 7:27
  a
• 7:27
  week.
• 7:28
  So,
• 7:29
  you
• 7:29
  know,
• 7:30
  I'm
• 7:30
  over
• 7:30
  here
• 7:31
  fretting
• 7:31
  over
• 7:32
  it
• 7:32
  and
• 7:32
  You're.
• 7:32
  You're
• 7:32
  putting
• 7:33
  out
• 7:33
  two
• 7:33
  or
• 7:33
  three
• 7:33
  times
• 7:33
  more
• 7:34
  than
• 7:34
  I
• 7:34
  am.
• 7:34
  So.
• 7:37
  Yeah,
• 7:38
  I
• 7:38
  don't
• 7:38
  know.
• 7:39
  It's.
• 7:39
  It's.
• 7:39
  I
• 7:39
  mean,
• 7:40
  it's
• 7:40
  an
• 7:40
  interesting
• 7:40
  thing.
• 7:40
  I.
• 7:41
  I
• 7:41
  love
• 7:41
  it.
• 7:41
  I've
• 7:41
  met
• 7:41
  great
• 7:42
  people
• 7:42
  just
• 7:42
  like
• 7:42
  you
• 7:42
  have.
• 7:43
  But,
• 7:43
  you
• 7:43
  know,
• 7:43
  it's
• 7:43
  kind
• 7:44
  of
• 7:44
  funny
• 7:44
  because,
• 7:45
  you
• 7:45
  know,
• 7:45
  we
• 7:45
  always
• 7:45
  kind
• 7:45
  of
• 7:46
  bump
• 7:46
  in.
• 7:46
  We
• 7:46
  always
• 7:46
  are
• 7:46
  kind
• 7:47
  of
• 7:47
  talk
• 7:47
  kind
• 7:47
  of.
• 7:47
  Our
• 7:48
  conversations
• 7:48
  almost
• 7:48
  always
• 7:49
  end
• 7:49
  up
• 7:49
  kind
• 7:49
  of
• 7:49
  in
• 7:49
  the
• 7:50
  same
• 7:50
  place.
• 7:50
  And,
• 7:50
  you
• 7:51
  know,
• 7:51
  folks,
• 7:51
  we're
• 7:51
  going
• 7:51
  to
• 7:51
  kind
• 7:51
  of
• 7:52
  take
• 7:52
  a
• 7:52
  deep
• 7:52
  dive
• 7:53
  on,
• 7:53
  you
• 7:54
  know,
• 7:54
  community
• 7:54
  building
• 7:54
  around
• 7:55
  brands.
• 7:56
  And
• 7:57
  so
• 7:57
  I
• 7:57
  think
• 7:57
  kind
• 7:57
  of
• 7:57
  an
• 7:58
  interesting
• 7:58
  thing,
• 7:58
  right,
• 7:58
  is,
• 7:58
  you
• 7:59
  know,
• 7:59
  you
• 7:59
  mentioned
• 7:59
  the
• 7:59
  Untangled
• 8:00
  podcast,
• 8:00
  and
• 8:01
  you
• 8:01
  have
• 8:01
  a
• 8:01
  really
• 8:01
  unique
• 8:02
  format,
• 8:02
  and
• 8:03
  it's
• 8:03
  actually
• 8:03
  a
• 8:03
  really
• 8:03
  unique
• 8:04
  use
• 8:04
  case,
• 8:04
  and
• 8:04
  I
• 8:05
  was
• 8:05
  kind
• 8:05
  of
• 8:05
  curious
• 8:05
  if
• 8:05
  you
• 8:05
  could
• 8:06
  kind
• 8:06
  of,
• 8:06
  you
• 8:06
  know,
• 8:07
  let
• 8:07
  folks
• 8:07
  know,
• 8:08
  you
• 8:08
  know,
• 8:08
  what
• 8:09
  it
• 8:09
  is,
• 8:09
  where
• 8:09
  to
• 8:09
  find
• 8:10
  it,
• 8:10
  the
• 8:10
  general
• 8:10
  format
• 8:11
  and
• 8:11
  all
• 8:11
  that
• 8:11
  kind
• 8:11
  of
• 8:11
  good
• 8:12
  stuff.
• 8:13
  Yeah.
• 8:14
  So
• 8:14
  Untangled,
• 8:15
  the
• 8:16
  full
• 8:16
  name
• 8:17
  is
• 8:17
  Untangled
• 8:18
  Fly
• 8:18
  Fishing
• 8:18
  for
• 8:19
  Everyone.
• 8:20
  And
• 8:20
  I
• 8:21
  say
• 8:21
  that
• 8:22
  not
• 8:22
  trying
• 8:22
  to
• 8:22
  sound
• 8:23
  sarcastic,
• 8:25
  but.
• 8:25
  But
• 8:26
  actually
• 8:26
  meaning
• 8:27
  it
• 8:27
  where
• 8:28
  the.
• 8:28
  The
• 8:28
  idea
• 8:29
  was,
• 8:29
  how
• 8:29
  do
• 8:29
  we.
• 8:29
  How
• 8:30
  do
• 8:30
  we
• 8:30
  make
• 8:30
  this
• 8:30
  stuff
• 8:30
  approachable?
• 8:31
  How
• 8:31
  do
• 8:31
  we.
• 8:33
  How
• 8:33
  do
• 8:33
  we
• 8:34
  take
• 8:34
  this
• 8:34
  from
• 8:36
  a
• 8:36
  sport
• 8:37
  that
• 8:37
  doesn't
• 8:37
  make
• 8:37
  any
• 8:37
  sense,
• 8:39
  a
• 8:39
  sport
• 8:39
  that's
• 8:40
  incredibly
• 8:40
  overwhelming
• 8:41
  to
• 8:42
  something
• 8:42
  that
• 8:43
  is
• 8:44
  actually
• 8:44
  really
• 8:44
  simple?
• 8:45
  Because
• 8:45
  at
• 8:45
  the
• 8:45
  end
• 8:45
  of
• 8:45
  the
• 8:45
  day,
• 8:46
  and
• 8:47
  some
• 8:47
  folks
• 8:47
  get
• 8:47
  prickly
• 8:48
  when
• 8:48
  I
• 8:48
  say
• 8:48
  this,
• 8:48
  but
• 8:49
  fly
• 8:49
  fishing
• 8:49
  ain't
• 8:49
  all
• 8:50
  that
• 8:50
  hard,
• 8:50
  and
• 8:51
  it
• 8:51
  really
• 8:51
  isn't
• 8:51
  all
• 8:52
  that
• 8:52
  complicated
• 8:52
  either.
• 8:53
  Your.
• 8:54
  Your
• 8:54
  whole
• 8:54
  job
• 8:54
  is
• 8:55
  put
• 8:55
  a
• 8:55
  fly
• 8:55
  in
• 8:55
  front
• 8:55
  of
• 8:55
  a
• 8:56
  fish
• 8:56
  and
• 8:56
  make
• 8:57
  it
• 8:57
  look
• 8:57
  real.
• 8:57
  However
• 8:58
  you
• 8:58
  choose
• 8:58
  to
• 8:58
  do
• 8:58
  that
• 8:59
  is
• 8:59
  up
• 8:59
  to
• 8:59
  you.
• 8:59
  But
• 9:00
  that's
• 9:00
  your
• 9:00
  job.
• 9:00
  Whether
• 9:00
  you're
• 9:01
  fishing
• 9:01
  for
• 9:01
  trout
• 9:02
  or
• 9:02
  you're
• 9:02
  fishing
• 9:02
  for
• 9:02
  tarpon,
• 9:03
  you
• 9:03
  got
• 9:03
  to
• 9:03
  put
• 9:03
  that
• 9:03
  fly
• 9:04
  in
• 9:04
  front
• 9:04
  of
• 9:04
  them
• 9:05
  and
• 9:05
  make
• 9:05
  it
• 9:05
  look
• 9:05
  like
• 9:05
  something
• 9:06
  they
• 9:06
  want
• 9:06
  to
• 9:06
  eat.
• 9:07
  And
• 9:09
  it's
• 9:09
  really
• 9:09
  that
• 9:09
  simple.
• 9:10
  You
• 9:10
  boil
• 9:10
  it
• 9:10
  down,
• 9:10
  you
• 9:11
  strip
• 9:11
  all
• 9:11
  the
• 9:11
  other
• 9:11
  junk
• 9:12
  away
• 9:12
  from
• 9:12
  it,
• 9:13
  and
• 9:13
  it's
• 9:13
  that
• 9:14
  simple.
• 9:14
  And
• 9:15
  that's
• 9:15
  where
• 9:15
  Untangled
• 9:16
  came
• 9:16
  from,
• 9:16
  was
• 9:17
  how
• 9:17
  do
• 9:17
  we
• 9:18
  make
• 9:18
  this
• 9:18
  simple?
• 9:18
  How
• 9:18
  do
• 9:18
  we
• 9:18
  make
• 9:19
  this
• 9:19
  approachable?
• 9:20
  So
• 9:21
  we
• 9:21
  started
• 9:21
  out
• 9:22
  with
• 9:22
  just
• 9:22
  purely
• 9:23
  a
• 9:24
  Q
• 9:24
  and
• 9:24
  A
• 9:24
  driven
• 9:24
  show.
• 9:25
  So
• 9:25
  we'd
• 9:25
  get
• 9:25
  questions,
• 9:26
  I'd
• 9:26
  answer
• 9:26
  them,
• 9:27
  and
• 9:27
  that
• 9:27
  was
• 9:28
  the
• 9:28
  show.
• 9:29
  And
• 9:29
  it's
• 9:30
  evolved
• 9:31
  now
• 9:32
  to
• 9:32
  where
• 9:33
  I
• 9:33
  take
• 9:33
  a
• 9:34
  topic
• 9:35
  once
• 9:36
  or
• 9:36
  I
• 9:37
  take
• 9:37
  a
• 9:37
  top
• 9:37
  one
• 9:38
  main
• 9:38
  topic,
• 9:40
  whether
• 9:40
  it's
• 9:40
  from
• 9:41
  a
• 9:41
  question
• 9:41
  that
• 9:41
  a
• 9:41
  listener
• 9:42
  sent
• 9:42
  in
• 9:44
  or
• 9:44
  it's
• 9:45
  something
• 9:46
  that
• 9:46
  I've
• 9:46
  noticed
• 9:47
  folks
• 9:47
  talking
• 9:47
  about,
• 9:48
  I
• 9:48
  take
• 9:48
  that
• 9:48
  topic
• 9:50
  and
• 9:50
  we
• 9:50
  go
• 9:51
  ahead
• 9:52
  and
• 9:52
  do
• 9:52
  a
• 9:52
  deep
• 9:53
  dive
• 9:53
  onto
• 9:53
  that,
• 9:53
  and
• 9:54
  then
• 9:54
  from
• 9:55
  there,
• 9:56
  we
• 9:56
  have
• 9:56
  a
• 9:57
  Q
• 9:57
  and
• 9:57
  a
• 9:57
  section
• 9:57
  of
• 9:57
  the
• 9:58
  show.
• 9:58
  And
• 9:58
  then
• 9:58
  we
• 9:58
  end
• 10:00
  with
• 10:01
  a
• 10:01
  story
• 10:02
  from
• 10:03
  someone
• 10:03
  out
• 10:03
  in
• 10:04
  the
• 10:04
  audience,
• 10:04
  someone
• 10:04
  who's
• 10:05
  been
• 10:05
  out
• 10:06
  there
• 10:06
  fishing.
• 10:06
  They
• 10:07
  send
• 10:07
  in
• 10:07
  their,
• 10:07
  their
• 10:08
  live
• 10:08
  real
• 10:08
  life
• 10:08
  moment
• 10:09
  is
• 10:09
  what
• 10:09
  we
• 10:10
  call
• 10:10
  it.
• 10:10
  And
• 10:11
  we
• 10:11
  get
• 10:11
  to
• 10:12
  connect
• 10:12
  with
• 10:12
  folks
• 10:12
  out
• 10:13
  there
• 10:13
  in
• 10:13
  the
• 10:13
  community
• 10:13
  who
• 10:14
  are,
• 10:14
  who
• 10:14
  are
• 10:14
  fishing.
• 10:15
  So.
• 10:16
  And
• 10:16
  we're
• 10:16
  on
• 10:16
  all
• 10:17
  the,
• 10:17
  all
• 10:18
  the
• 10:18
  major
• 10:18
  podcast
• 10:19
  platforms.
• 10:20
  We're
• 10:20
  on
• 10:20
  YouTube,
• 10:22
  Apple,
• 10:22
  Spotify.
• 10:23
  Anywhere
• 10:24
  you
• 10:24
  find
• 10:24
  your
• 10:24
  podcast,
• 10:25
  you'll
• 10:25
  find
• 10:25
  untangled.
• 10:26
  Yeah.
• 10:26
  And
• 10:27
  I'll
• 10:27
  drop
• 10:27
  links
• 10:27
  to
• 10:27
  all
• 10:27
  that
• 10:28
  stuff
• 10:28
  in
• 10:28
  the
• 10:28
  show
• 10:28
  notes.
• 10:28
  And
• 10:29
  so
• 10:29
  is
• 10:29
  it
• 10:29
  predominantly,
• 10:30
  you
• 10:30
  know,
• 10:30
  you're
• 10:31
  getting
• 10:31
  feedback
• 10:31
  from
• 10:32
  the
• 10:32
  audience
• 10:32
  and
• 10:32
  it's
• 10:32
  just
• 10:33
  you,
• 10:33
  or
• 10:33
  do
• 10:33
  you
• 10:33
  sometimes
• 10:34
  bring
• 10:34
  guests
• 10:34
  on?
• 10:35
  We
• 10:36
  tried
• 10:36
  guests
• 10:36
  for
• 10:37
  a
• 10:37
  little
• 10:37
  bit.
• 10:39
  My
• 10:39
  issue
• 10:40
  is
• 10:40
  just
• 10:40
  always
• 10:41
  audio
• 10:41
  quality.
• 10:43
  I
• 10:43
  want
• 10:44
  to
• 10:44
  get
• 10:44
  that
• 10:44
  dialed.
• 10:45
  And
• 10:45
  it's
• 10:46
  just
• 10:46
  kind
• 10:46
  of
• 10:46
  hard
• 10:47
  with
• 10:48
  phone
• 10:48
  call
• 10:48
  interviews
• 10:49
  a
• 10:49
  lot
• 10:49
  of
• 10:49
  the
• 10:49
  times
• 10:50
  and
• 10:50
  then.
• 10:53
  But
• 10:53
  yeah,
• 10:53
  it's,
• 10:54
  it's
• 10:54
  almost
• 10:54
  all
• 10:55
  completely
• 10:56
  user
• 10:57
  driven.
• 10:58
  Even
• 10:58
  the
• 10:59
  weeks
• 10:59
  where
• 11:00
  I
• 11:01
  mean
• 11:01
  I.
• 11:02
  The
• 11:02
  monologue,
• 11:03
  the
• 11:03
  opening
• 11:03
  part
• 11:03
  of
• 11:03
  the
• 11:04
  show
• 11:04
  is
• 11:08
  not
• 11:08
  directly
• 11:09
  tied
• 11:09
  to
• 11:09
  a
• 11:09
  question.
• 11:10
  Like
• 11:10
  I
• 11:10
  didn't
• 11:10
  get
• 11:10
  an
• 11:11
  email
• 11:11
  from
• 11:11
  someone
• 11:12
  that
• 11:12
  week.
• 11:13
  It's
• 11:13
  still
• 11:14
  spurred
• 11:14
  by
• 11:15
  a
• 11:15
  question
• 11:15
  that
• 11:15
  we've
• 11:16
  received.
• 11:16
  I've
• 11:16
  got
• 11:17
  over
• 11:18
  600
• 11:19
  questions
• 11:19
  just
• 11:20
  this
• 11:20
  year
• 11:21
  from
• 11:21
  folks,
• 11:22
  so
• 11:22
  there's
• 11:23
  no
• 11:23
  shortage
• 11:23
  of
• 11:24
  topics
• 11:24
  to
• 11:24
  dive
• 11:25
  into.
• 11:26
  Very
• 11:26
  neat.
• 11:26
  And
• 11:27
  so
• 11:27
  when
• 11:27
  you
• 11:27
  prepare,
• 11:28
  do
• 11:28
  you
• 11:28
  outline
• 11:29
  what
• 11:29
  you
• 11:29
  want
• 11:29
  to
• 11:29
  talk
• 11:29
  about
• 11:30
  or
• 11:30
  do
• 11:30
  you
• 11:30
  do
• 11:30
  a
• 11:30
  little
• 11:31
  bit
• 11:31
  more
• 11:31
  official
• 11:31
  script?
• 11:32
  Because
• 11:32
  I
• 11:32
  know
• 11:32
  you've
• 11:32
  got
• 11:32
  like,
• 11:33
  you've
• 11:33
  been
• 11:33
  an
• 11:33
  outdoor
• 11:33
  writer
• 11:34
  kind
• 11:34
  of
• 11:34
  forever,
• 11:35
  right?
• 11:36
  Yeah,
• 11:37
  no,
• 11:37
  I,
• 11:38
  I
• 11:38
  script
• 11:39
  it.
• 11:41
  I
• 11:42
  script
• 11:42
  it
• 11:43
  because
• 11:43
  I
• 11:43
  want
• 11:44
  to
• 11:44
  make
• 11:44
  sure
• 11:44
  that
• 11:44
  I'm
• 11:44
  explaining
• 11:45
  it
• 11:45
  in
• 11:45
  a
• 11:45
  way
• 11:45
  that's
• 11:46
  simple
• 11:46
  and
• 11:46
  makes
• 11:46
  sense.
• 11:47
  Because
• 11:48
  I
• 11:48
  tried
• 11:48
  go.
• 11:49
  I
• 11:49
  tried
• 11:49
  doing
• 11:49
  a
• 11:49
  few
• 11:49
  episodes
• 11:50
  where
• 11:50
  I
• 11:50
  just
• 11:50
  went
• 11:51
  with
• 11:51
  more
• 11:51
  of
• 11:51
  an
• 11:51
  outline.
• 11:52
  Just
• 11:52
  went
• 11:53
  off
• 11:53
  the
• 11:53
  cuff.
• 11:54
  And
• 11:56
  as
• 11:56
  much
• 11:56
  as
• 11:56
  I'd
• 11:57
  like
• 11:57
  to
• 11:57
  be,
• 11:57
  I'm
• 11:57
  no,
• 11:59
  I'm
• 11:59
  no.
• 12:01
  What's
• 12:01
  the
• 12:01
  word
• 12:01
  I'm
• 12:02
  looking
• 12:02
  for?
• 12:02
  Savant
• 12:04
  at
• 12:05
  broadcasting.
• 12:06
  So
• 12:07
  I
• 12:07
  trip
• 12:08
  over
• 12:08
  myself
• 12:09
  sometimes.
• 12:09
  I
• 12:09
  don't
• 12:09
  always
• 12:10
  say
• 12:10
  things
• 12:10
  the
• 12:10
  right
• 12:10
  way.
• 12:11
  So
• 12:11
  I've
• 12:11
  got
• 12:11
  a
• 12:11
  lot
• 12:12
  of
• 12:13
  the
• 12:13
  big
• 12:13
  points
• 12:13
  written
• 12:14
  out.
• 12:14
  The
• 12:14
  big
• 12:15
  things
• 12:15
  that
• 12:15
  I
• 12:15
  want
• 12:15
  to
• 12:16
  say
• 12:16
  are
• 12:16
  written
• 12:16
  out
• 12:17
  so
• 12:17
  that
• 12:17
  I
• 12:18
  can
• 12:18
  articulate
• 12:19
  them
• 12:20
  in
• 12:20
  a
• 12:20
  way
• 12:21
  that
• 12:21
  makes
• 12:21
  sense
• 12:21
  to
• 12:22
  somebody
• 12:22
  who's
• 12:22
  never
• 12:22
  fly
• 12:23
  fish
• 12:23
  before,
• 12:24
  but
• 12:24
  it's
• 12:24
  still
• 12:24
  accessible
• 12:25
  to
• 12:25
  someone
• 12:26
  who's
• 12:26
  been
• 12:26
  doing
• 12:26
  it
• 12:26
  for
• 12:27
  a
• 12:27
  while.
• 12:27
  And
• 12:28
  that's
• 12:28
  important
• 12:29
  to
• 12:29
  me
• 12:29
  to
• 12:29
  be
• 12:30
  able
• 12:30
  to
• 12:30
  reach
• 12:30
  both
• 12:30
  of
• 12:31
  those
• 12:31
  people.
• 12:31
  And
• 12:31
  if
• 12:31
  I
• 12:31
  don't
• 12:32
  write
• 12:32
  it
• 12:32
  out
• 12:32
  and
• 12:33
  think
• 12:33
  it
• 12:33
  through
• 12:33
  beforehand,
• 12:34
  I'm
• 12:34
  not
• 12:35
  going
• 12:35
  to
• 12:35
  be
• 12:35
  as
• 12:35
  effective
• 12:36
  with
• 12:36
  how
• 12:36
  I
• 12:36
  Communicate
• 12:37
  it.
• 12:37
  So
• 12:38
  it
• 12:38
  is
• 12:38
  a
• 12:38
  script.
• 12:39
  I'll
• 12:39
  spend
• 12:40
  about
• 12:41
  a
• 12:41
  day,
• 12:42
  sometimes
• 12:43
  day
• 12:43
  and
• 12:43
  a
• 12:43
  half,
• 12:43
  just
• 12:44
  putting
• 12:44
  the
• 12:44
  script
• 12:44
  together,
• 12:45
  thinking
• 12:45
  through
• 12:46
  how
• 12:46
  I
• 12:46
  want
• 12:46
  to
• 12:46
  explain
• 12:47
  this,
• 12:49
  examples,
• 12:50
  trying
• 12:50
  to
• 12:50
  remember
• 12:51
  stories
• 12:51
  that
• 12:52
  I
• 12:52
  can
• 12:52
  use
• 12:52
  to
• 12:52
  illustrate
• 12:53
  it
• 12:53
  with.
• 12:53
  And
• 12:54
  I
• 12:54
  don't
• 12:54
  script
• 12:54
  the
• 12:54
  stories
• 12:55
  out.
• 12:55
  I'll
• 12:55
  literally
• 12:55
  just
• 12:56
  write,
• 12:56
  share
• 12:56
  this
• 12:57
  story
• 12:57
  from
• 12:57
  this
• 12:57
  river
• 12:58
  on
• 12:58
  this
• 12:58
  day,
• 12:59
  and
• 12:59
  I'll
• 12:59
  just
• 12:59
  tell
• 12:59
  the
• 12:59
  story.
• 13:00
  You
• 13:00
  know,
• 13:00
  I'm
• 13:01
  not
• 13:01
  going
• 13:01
  to
• 13:01
  script
• 13:01
  that
• 13:01
  part
• 13:02
  out.
• 13:02
  I
• 13:02
  don't
• 13:02
  script
• 13:02
  out
• 13:03
  all
• 13:03
  the
• 13:03
  jokes.
• 13:04
  You
• 13:04
  know,
• 13:04
  I
• 13:04
  try
• 13:05
  and
• 13:05
  come
• 13:05
  up
• 13:05
  with
• 13:05
  my
• 13:06
  own
• 13:06
  jokes
• 13:06
  in
• 13:06
  the
• 13:06
  moment,
• 13:08
  something
• 13:08
  I
• 13:08
  think
• 13:08
  I'm
• 13:08
  getting
• 13:08
  better
• 13:09
  at,
• 13:09
  thankfully.
• 13:10
  And
• 13:11
  then
• 13:11
  I,
• 13:11
  I
• 13:11
  certainly
• 13:12
  don't
• 13:12
  script
• 13:12
  out
• 13:13
  all
• 13:13
  the.
• 13:14
  The
• 13:14
  love
• 13:14
  affair
• 13:15
  with
• 13:15
  wings
• 13:15
  and
• 13:15
  Diet
• 13:16
  Coke
• 13:16
  that
• 13:16
  are
• 13:17
  featured
• 13:17
  in
• 13:17
  almost
• 13:17
  every
• 13:18
  episode
• 13:18
  either.
• 13:19
  So
• 13:19
  that's
• 13:19
  just
• 13:19
  all
• 13:20
  organic,
• 13:22
  but
• 13:23
  that's,
• 13:23
  that's
• 13:24
  kind
• 13:24
  of
• 13:24
  how
• 13:24
  I
• 13:24
  put
• 13:24
  it
• 13:24
  together.
• 13:25
  Yeah.
• 13:25
  Very
• 13:25
  neat.
• 13:26
  And
• 13:26
  so,
• 13:26
  you
• 13:26
  know,
• 13:26
  the
• 13:26
  interesting
• 13:27
  thing
• 13:27
  is,
• 13:29
  you
• 13:29
  know,
• 13:29
  it's
• 13:30
  this,
• 13:30
  this
• 13:30
  podcast
• 13:31
  is
• 13:31
  kind
• 13:31
  of
• 13:31
  the
• 13:32
  linchpin
• 13:32
  for
• 13:32
  the
• 13:33
  community
• 13:33
  building
• 13:33
  around
• 13:34
  Venture
• 13:34
  Flyco.
• 13:35
  And
• 13:35
  I
• 13:35
  was
• 13:35
  kind
• 13:35
  of
• 13:35
  curious
• 13:36
  if
• 13:36
  you
• 13:36
  could
• 13:36
  kind
• 13:36
  of,
• 13:37
  you
• 13:37
  know,
• 13:37
  take
• 13:37
  us
• 13:38
  behind
• 13:38
  the
• 13:38
  curtain
• 13:38
  in
• 13:38
  the
• 13:39
  land
• 13:39
  of
• 13:39
  Oz
• 13:39
  and
• 13:39
  talk
• 13:39
  about
• 13:40
  kind
• 13:40
  of,
• 13:40
  you
• 13:41
  know,
• 13:41
  how
• 13:41
  you
• 13:41
  kind
• 13:41
  of
• 13:41
  came
• 13:42
  up
• 13:42
  with,
• 13:42
  you
• 13:43
  know,
• 13:43
  we've
• 13:43
  got
• 13:43
  a
• 13:43
  fly
• 13:43
  shop,
• 13:44
  and
• 13:44
  I,
• 13:44
  I
• 13:44
  don't
• 13:44
  know
• 13:44
  a
• 13:44
  lot
• 13:45
  about
• 13:45
  ventures
• 13:45
  if
• 13:45
  they're,
• 13:46
  like,
• 13:46
  predominantly,
• 13:47
  you
• 13:47
  know,
• 13:47
  online.
• 13:48
  Right.
• 13:49
  And
• 13:49
  so
• 13:49
  this
• 13:49
  is
• 13:50
  a
• 13:50
  major
• 13:50
  part
• 13:50
  of
• 13:50
  their
• 13:50
  outreach,
• 13:51
  but
• 13:51
  this
• 13:51
  is
• 13:51
  also
• 13:51
  kind
• 13:52
  of
• 13:52
  the
• 13:52
  springboard
• 13:52
  to
• 13:52
  all
• 13:52
  the
• 13:52
  video
• 13:53
  stuff
• 13:53
  you
• 13:53
  were
• 13:53
  talking
• 13:53
  about
• 13:54
  doing,
• 13:54
  too.
• 13:55
  Yeah.
• 13:56
  So
• 13:56
  we're.
• 13:56
  We're
• 13:57
  online
• 13:57
  for
• 13:58
  now.
• 13:58
  We'd
• 13:58
  love
• 13:58
  to
• 13:58
  have
• 13:58
  brick
• 13:59
  and
• 13:59
  mortar
• 13:59
  at
• 13:59
  some
• 14:00
  point,
• 14:00
  but
• 14:01
  we're,
• 14:01
  we're
• 14:02
  still.
• 14:03
  Still
• 14:03
  very
• 14:03
  much
• 14:03
  in
• 14:03
  startup
• 14:04
  mode
• 14:05
  getting
• 14:05
  this
• 14:05
  thing
• 14:05
  off
• 14:06
  the
• 14:06
  ground
• 14:08
  or.
• 14:08
  So
• 14:09
  we're
• 14:09
  online
• 14:09
  for
• 14:10
  now,
• 14:10
  but
• 14:12
  yeah,
• 14:13
  it's.
• 14:13
  It
• 14:14
  was
• 14:14
  really
• 14:14
  like,
• 14:18
  why
• 14:19
  we.
• 14:19
  We
• 14:20
  asked
• 14:20
  ourselves
• 14:20
  when
• 14:21
  we.
• 14:21
  We
• 14:21
  started
• 14:21
  getting
• 14:22
  into
• 14:22
  wanting
• 14:23
  to
• 14:23
  do
• 14:23
  content
• 14:23
  and
• 14:24
  wanting
• 14:24
  to
• 14:24
  use
• 14:24
  that
• 14:25
  to
• 14:25
  market
• 14:26
  ventures,
• 14:28
  why
• 14:28
  would
• 14:28
  people
• 14:29
  buy
• 14:29
  from
• 14:29
  us?
• 14:30
  Well,
• 14:31
  the
• 14:31
  obvious
• 14:31
  thing
• 14:31
  is
• 14:32
  we
• 14:32
  can
• 14:32
  try
• 14:32
  and
• 14:32
  compete
• 14:33
  on
• 14:33
  price,
• 14:33
  right?
• 14:34
  And
• 14:34
  we
• 14:34
  can
• 14:34
  try
• 14:35
  selling
• 14:35
  flies
• 14:35
  for
• 14:36
  99
• 14:36
  cents,
• 14:37
  but
• 14:37
  you
• 14:37
  find
• 14:38
  out
• 14:38
  real
• 14:38
  quick
• 14:38
  that
• 14:39
  you're
• 14:40
  not
• 14:40
  gonna
• 14:40
  make
• 14:40
  a
• 14:40
  whole
• 14:40
  lot
• 14:41
  of
• 14:41
  money
• 14:41
  for
• 14:41
  selling
• 14:41
  your
• 14:41
  flies
• 14:42
  for
• 14:42
  99
• 14:42
  cents.
• 14:43
  That's
• 14:43
  just.
• 14:44
  You're
• 14:45
  just
• 14:45
  really
• 14:45
  not
• 14:45
  gonna
• 14:46
  put
• 14:46
  money
• 14:46
  in
• 14:46
  the
• 14:46
  bank
• 14:46
  if
• 14:47
  that's
• 14:47
  what
• 14:47
  you
• 14:47
  end
• 14:48
  up
• 14:48
  doing.
• 14:51
  So
• 14:51
  then
• 14:51
  the,
• 14:51
  the
• 14:52
  next
• 14:53
  natural
• 14:53
  step
• 14:53
  is,
• 14:54
  well,
• 14:54
  they're
• 14:54
  gonna,
• 14:54
  they're
• 14:54
  gonna
• 14:55
  buy
• 14:55
  from
• 14:55
  us
• 14:55
  because
• 14:55
  they
• 14:55
  trust
• 14:56
  us.
• 14:56
  Right?
• 14:57
  They're.
• 14:58
  They're
• 14:58
  going
• 14:58
  to,
• 14:58
  they're
• 14:59
  going
• 14:59
  to
• 14:59
  trust
• 14:59
  us
• 14:59
  with
• 15:00
  our
• 15:00
  money
• 15:00
  because
• 15:00
  we've
• 15:01
  helped
• 15:01
  them
• 15:01
  in
• 15:02
  some
• 15:02
  way.
• 15:03
  And
• 15:03
  so
• 15:03
  when
• 15:04
  you
• 15:04
  look
• 15:04
  at
• 15:04
  it
• 15:04
  from
• 15:05
  that
• 15:05
  perspective
• 15:05
  of
• 15:06
  business,
• 15:06
  it's
• 15:07
  okay,
• 15:08
  we
• 15:08
  need
• 15:08
  to
• 15:08
  help
• 15:08
  these
• 15:08
  people
• 15:09
  as
• 15:09
  much
• 15:09
  as
• 15:10
  we
• 15:10
  can.
• 15:11
  And
• 15:11
  if
• 15:11
  you
• 15:12
  get
• 15:12
  into
• 15:12
  it,
• 15:15
  if
• 15:15
  you
• 15:15
  get
• 15:15
  into
• 15:16
  it
• 15:17
  only
• 15:17
  to
• 15:18
  make
• 15:18
  money
• 15:19
  or
• 15:20
  only
• 15:22
  to
• 15:22
  help
• 15:22
  people,
• 15:22
  I
• 15:23
  don't
• 15:23
  think
• 15:23
  you're
• 15:23
  going
• 15:23
  to
• 15:23
  be
• 15:23
  successful.
• 15:25
  I
• 15:25
  think
• 15:25
  you
• 15:25
  have
• 15:26
  to
• 15:26
  get
• 15:26
  into
• 15:26
  it
• 15:26
  with
• 15:27
  a
• 15:27
  little
• 15:27
  bit
• 15:27
  of
• 15:27
  both.
• 15:27
  With
• 15:28
  your
• 15:28
  foot
• 15:29
  in
• 15:29
  both
• 15:30
  worlds
• 15:30
  there.
• 15:30
  There's
• 15:31
  got
• 15:31
  to
• 15:31
  be
• 15:31
  a
• 15:31
  little
• 15:31
  bit
• 15:32
  of
• 15:32
  altruism
• 15:32
  on
• 15:33
  your
• 15:33
  part
• 15:34
  in
• 15:34
  terms
• 15:35
  of
• 15:35
  wanting
• 15:35
  to
• 15:35
  make
• 15:36
  things
• 15:36
  better
• 15:36
  and
• 15:37
  wanting
• 15:38
  to
• 15:38
  help.
• 15:39
  In
• 15:39
  our
• 15:39
  case,
• 15:39
  wanting
• 15:40
  to
• 15:40
  help
• 15:40
  anglers
• 15:40
  begin
• 15:41
  and
• 15:41
  learn
• 15:41
  and
• 15:42
  figure
• 15:42
  this
• 15:42
  stuff
• 15:42
  out.
• 15:43
  But
• 15:43
  then
• 15:44
  at
• 15:44
  the
• 15:44
  same
• 15:44
  time,
• 15:45
  we
• 15:45
  got
• 15:46
  mortgages
• 15:46
  to
• 15:46
  pay,
• 15:46
  we
• 15:46
  got
• 15:47
  fishing
• 15:47
  trips
• 15:47
  we
• 15:47
  want
• 15:47
  to
• 15:47
  take,
• 15:48
  got
• 15:48
  things
• 15:48
  we
• 15:48
  want
• 15:48
  to
• 15:49
  do,
• 15:49
  so
• 15:50
  we've
• 15:50
  still
• 15:50
  got
• 15:50
  to
• 15:50
  pay
• 15:50
  the
• 15:50
  bills
• 15:52
  at
• 15:52
  the
• 15:52
  same
• 15:52
  time.
• 15:53
  So
• 15:54
  just
• 15:54
  being
• 15:54
  realistic
• 15:55
  with
• 15:55
  yourself
• 15:57
  matters
• 15:58
  a
• 15:58
  lot
• 15:58
  when
• 15:58
  you're.
• 15:59
  When
• 15:59
  you're
• 15:59
  trying
• 15:59
  to
• 15:59
  build
• 16:00
  a
• 16:00
  community
• 16:00
  like
• 16:00
  this.
• 16:01
  But
• 16:02
  it
• 16:02
  really.
• 16:03
  It
• 16:03
  seemed
• 16:03
  to
• 16:03
  us
• 16:03
  the
• 16:04
  best
• 16:04
  way
• 16:06
  to
• 16:06
  build
• 16:06
  that
• 16:07
  community
• 16:07
  and
• 16:07
  to
• 16:08
  get
• 16:08
  folks
• 16:08
  to
• 16:08
  come
• 16:09
  to
• 16:09
  us
• 16:10
  and
• 16:11
  to
• 16:11
  have
• 16:11
  our
• 16:11
  experience.
• 16:12
  Because
• 16:12
  at
• 16:12
  the
• 16:13
  end
• 16:13
  of
• 16:13
  the
• 16:13
  day,
• 16:13
  we.
• 16:13
  We
• 16:14
  do
• 16:14
  feel
• 16:14
  like
• 16:14
  we're
• 16:15
  giving
• 16:16
  the
• 16:16
  best
• 16:16
  experience
• 16:17
  possible
• 16:18
  to
• 16:18
  anyone
• 16:19
  who
• 16:19
  comes
• 16:19
  to
• 16:19
  us.
• 16:20
  Because
• 16:20
  we
• 16:20
  don't
• 16:20
  just
• 16:21
  have
• 16:21
  all
• 16:21
  the
• 16:21
  gear
• 16:21
  they
• 16:21
  need.
• 16:22
  We've
• 16:22
  got
• 16:22
  all
• 16:23
  the
• 16:23
  resources
• 16:24
  they
• 16:24
  need
• 16:24
  to
• 16:24
  be
• 16:25
  successful.
• 16:25
  It's
• 16:25
  not
• 16:26
  just,
• 16:27
  hey,
• 16:27
  we're
• 16:27
  gonna
• 16:27
  sell
• 16:28
  you
• 16:28
  this
• 16:28
  rod
• 16:28
  and
• 16:28
  reel
• 16:29
  in
• 16:29
  this
• 16:29
  fly
• 16:29
  collection,
• 16:30
  and
• 16:31
  good
• 16:31
  luck
• 16:31
  figuring
• 16:32
  it
• 16:32
  out
• 16:32
  on
• 16:32
  the
• 16:32
  water.
• 16:32
  It's,
• 16:33
  hey,
• 16:34
  here's
• 16:35
  every
• 16:35
  fly
• 16:35
  that's
• 16:36
  in
• 16:36
  there.
• 16:36
  Here's
• 16:37
  what
• 16:37
  that
• 16:37
  fly
• 16:37
  is,
• 16:37
  here's
• 16:38
  what
• 16:38
  that
• 16:38
  fly
• 16:38
  does.
• 16:38
  Here's
• 16:39
  when
• 16:39
  you
• 16:39
  should
• 16:39
  use
• 16:40
  that
• 16:40
  fly.
• 16:41
  Here's
• 16:42
  how
• 16:43
  to
• 16:43
  use
• 16:43
  those
• 16:43
  flies
• 16:43
  here,
• 16:44
  how
• 16:44
  to
• 16:44
  cast
• 16:45
  a
• 16:45
  fly
• 16:45
  rod.
• 16:46
  And
• 16:46
  if
• 16:46
  you
• 16:46
  think
• 16:46
  you
• 16:47
  can't
• 16:47
  do
• 16:47
  it,
• 16:48
  here's
• 16:48
  a
• 16:48
  bunch
• 16:49
  of
• 16:49
  stuff
• 16:49
  from
• 16:49
  other
• 16:49
  beginners
• 16:50
  who've
• 16:51
  done
• 16:51
  it,
• 16:51
  who
• 16:51
  are
• 16:51
  in
• 16:51
  your
• 16:52
  exact
• 16:52
  same
• 16:52
  shoes.
• 16:53
  And
• 16:53
  when
• 16:53
  you
• 16:54
  can
• 16:54
  share
• 16:54
  that
• 16:54
  with
• 16:54
  people
• 16:55
  and
• 16:55
  show
• 16:55
  that
• 16:56
  to
• 16:56
  people
• 16:57
  makes
• 16:57
  it
• 16:57
  very
• 16:57
  powerful.
• 16:58
  And
• 16:58
  that
• 16:59
  makes
• 16:59
  it
• 17:00
  something
• 17:00
  that
• 17:01
  resonates
• 17:01
  with
• 17:01
  people.
• 17:02
  And
• 17:04
  if
• 17:05
  you're
• 17:05
  going
• 17:05
  to
• 17:05
  be
• 17:05
  successful
• 17:06
  at
• 17:06
  whatever
• 17:07
  you
• 17:07
  do,
• 17:07
  I
• 17:07
  don't
• 17:07
  care
• 17:08
  what
• 17:08
  business
• 17:08
  you're
• 17:09
  in,
• 17:09
  if
• 17:09
  you're
• 17:09
  going
• 17:09
  to
• 17:09
  be
• 17:09
  successful
• 17:10
  at
• 17:10
  anything,
• 17:11
  you
• 17:11
  got
• 17:11
  to
• 17:12
  figure
• 17:12
  out
• 17:12
  how
• 17:12
  to
• 17:12
  resonate
• 17:13
  with
• 17:13
  folks
• 17:14
  and
• 17:14
  connect
• 17:14
  with
• 17:14
  folks
• 17:15
  on
• 17:15
  some
• 17:16
  level.
• 17:16
  Because
• 17:16
  like
• 17:16
  I
• 17:17
  said,
• 17:17
  if.
• 17:17
  If
• 17:17
  you're
• 17:17
  in
• 17:17
  it
• 17:18
  just
• 17:18
  to
• 17:18
  make
• 17:18
  money,
• 17:18
  people
• 17:19
  are
• 17:19
  going
• 17:19
  to
• 17:19
  sniff
• 17:19
  that
• 17:19
  out
• 17:20
  real
• 17:20
  quick.
• 17:21
  And
• 17:21
  if
• 17:21
  you're
• 17:21
  in
• 17:21
  it
• 17:22
  just
• 17:22
  to
• 17:22
  be
• 17:22
  altruistic,
• 17:23
  well,
• 17:23
  then
• 17:23
  you're
• 17:24
  going
• 17:24
  to
• 17:24
  Need
• 17:24
  a
• 17:24
  job
• 17:25
  in
• 17:25
  six
• 17:25
  months.
• 17:27
  So
• 17:28
  you.
• 17:28
  There.
• 17:28
  There's
• 17:29
  gotta
• 17:29
  be
• 17:29
  a
• 17:29
  little
• 17:29
  bit
• 17:29
  of
• 17:29
  both.
• 17:30
  Yeah,
• 17:31
  it's
• 17:31
  interesting
• 17:31
  too,
• 17:31
  right?
• 17:32
  Cause
• 17:32
  I'm
• 17:32
  a
• 17:32
  hu.
• 17:32
  Like,
• 17:33
  you
• 17:33
  know,
• 17:33
  I'm
• 17:33
  a
• 17:34
  big
• 17:34
  trust
• 17:34
  guy.
• 17:34
  And
• 17:34
  I
• 17:35
  think
• 17:35
  the
• 17:35
  fascinating
• 17:35
  thing
• 17:36
  is
• 17:36
  you're
• 17:36
  bringing.
• 17:37
  You're
• 17:37
  building
• 17:37
  the
• 17:38
  trust
• 17:38
  relationship
• 17:39
  that
• 17:39
  people
• 17:39
  would
• 17:39
  normally
• 17:40
  build
• 17:40
  with
• 17:40
  the
• 17:41
  shop
• 17:41
  rats
• 17:41
  in
• 17:41
  their
• 17:41
  local
• 17:42
  shop,
• 17:43
  and
• 17:43
  you're
• 17:43
  putting
• 17:43
  that
• 17:44
  on
• 17:44
  the
• 17:44
  Internet.
• 17:44
  But
• 17:44
  the
• 17:44
  other
• 17:45
  thing,
• 17:45
  too,
• 17:45
  and
• 17:45
  I
• 17:45
  mean,
• 17:45
  I'm
• 17:45
  kind
• 17:46
  of
• 17:46
  biased,
• 17:46
  right?
• 17:46
  Because
• 17:47
  I'm
• 17:47
  predominantly
• 17:48
  a
• 17:48
  podcaster.
• 17:49
  That's
• 17:49
  why
• 17:50
  I
• 17:50
  think
• 17:50
  this
• 17:50
  recurrent
• 17:51
  audio
• 17:52
  medium
• 17:52
  is
• 17:52
  so
• 17:53
  powerful,
• 17:53
  because
• 17:53
  it
• 17:53
  gives
• 17:54
  you
• 17:54
  this
• 17:54
  amazing
• 17:55
  way
• 17:56
  to
• 17:56
  build
• 17:56
  trust
• 17:56
  in
• 17:57
  very,
• 17:57
  very
• 17:57
  subtle
• 17:58
  ways.
• 17:58
  Right.
• 17:58
  Like
• 17:58
  you
• 17:59
  talk
• 17:59
  for
• 17:59
  a
• 17:59
  repeated
• 18:01
  period
• 18:01
  of
• 18:01
  time
• 18:01
  every
• 18:02
  week
• 18:02
  and
• 18:02
  they
• 18:03
  like
• 18:03
  you,
• 18:03
  they
• 18:03
  don't
• 18:04
  think
• 18:04
  you're
• 18:04
  an
• 18:04
  idiot,
• 18:04
  and
• 18:04
  they
• 18:04
  start
• 18:05
  to
• 18:05
  trust
• 18:05
  you.
• 18:05
  Right?
• 18:06
  Yeah.
• 18:07
  And
• 18:07
  I
• 18:07
  think
• 18:07
  that's
• 18:08
  something
• 18:08
  that
• 18:08
  you
• 18:09
  can't.
• 18:10
  You
• 18:10
  can't
• 18:10
  really
• 18:10
  shortcut.
• 18:11
  And
• 18:11
  I
• 18:11
  mean,
• 18:12
  yes,
• 18:12
  you
• 18:12
  could
• 18:12
  do
• 18:12
  videos
• 18:13
  and
• 18:13
  do
• 18:13
  the
• 18:13
  same
• 18:13
  thing,
• 18:13
  but
• 18:14
  then
• 18:14
  you
• 18:14
  can
• 18:14
  put
• 18:14
  out
• 18:14
  a
• 18:14
  lot
• 18:14
  less
• 18:15
  content.
• 18:15
  But,
• 18:16
  you
• 18:16
  know,
• 18:16
  it's
• 18:16
  interesting,
• 18:17
  right,
• 18:17
  because
• 18:17
  to.
• 18:18
  I
• 18:18
  see
• 18:18
  lots
• 18:19
  of
• 18:19
  shops
• 18:19
  doing
• 18:20
  podcasts,
• 18:20
  but
• 18:21
  they
• 18:21
  don't
• 18:21
  show
• 18:21
  up
• 18:21
  regularly
• 18:22
  for
• 18:22
  their
• 18:22
  audience.
• 18:23
  And
• 18:23
  I
• 18:23
  try
• 18:23
  to
• 18:23
  tell
• 18:24
  them,
• 18:24
  I
• 18:24
  was
• 18:24
  like,
• 18:24
  you
• 18:25
  would
• 18:25
  be
• 18:26
  better
• 18:26
  off
• 18:26
  partnering
• 18:27
  with
• 18:27
  someone
• 18:27
  who's
• 18:28
  a
• 18:28
  more
• 18:28
  regular
• 18:29
  content
• 18:29
  producer
• 18:30
  because
• 18:30
  you're
• 18:30
  never
• 18:30
  going
• 18:31
  to
• 18:31
  get
• 18:31
  the
• 18:31
  network
• 18:31
  effect
• 18:32
  if
• 18:32
  you're
• 18:32
  not
• 18:32
  showing
• 18:33
  up
• 18:33
  every
• 18:33
  week
• 18:33
  or
• 18:34
  however
• 18:34
  often
• 18:35
  it
• 18:35
  is
• 18:36
  to
• 18:36
  get
• 18:36
  that
• 18:36
  payback
• 18:37
  on
• 18:37
  that
• 18:37
  time
• 18:37
  investment.
• 18:39
  Yeah,
• 18:39
  no,
• 18:40
  100%.
• 18:41
  You
• 18:41
  have
• 18:41
  to
• 18:41
  be
• 18:41
  consistent
• 18:42
  with
• 18:42
  it.
• 18:43
  And,
• 18:44
  oh,
• 18:44
  we
• 18:45
  had
• 18:45
  a
• 18:45
  listener,
• 18:45
  I
• 18:46
  think
• 18:46
  it
• 18:46
  was
• 18:46
  earlier
• 18:46
  this
• 18:47
  year,
• 18:47
  wrote
• 18:48
  a.
• 18:48
  Wrote
• 18:48
  in,
• 18:49
  asked
• 18:49
  a
• 18:50
  question.
• 18:50
  But
• 18:50
  he
• 18:51
  prefaced
• 18:51
  this
• 18:52
  question
• 18:52
  with
• 18:53
  something
• 18:53
  to
• 18:53
  the
• 18:53
  effect
• 18:54
  of,
• 18:55
  I
• 18:56
  feel
• 18:56
  like
• 18:56
  I
• 18:56
  know
• 18:56
  Spencer
• 18:57
  because
• 18:59
  I've
• 18:59
  listened
• 18:59
  to
• 18:59
  every
• 19:00
  episode
• 19:00
  of
• 19:00
  the
• 19:00
  podcast
• 19:01
  on
• 19:01
  all
• 19:01
  my
• 19:02
  drives,
• 19:02
  and
• 19:02
  I
• 19:02
  think
• 19:03
  I've
• 19:03
  listened
• 19:03
  to
• 19:03
  him
• 19:03
  talk
• 19:04
  more
• 19:04
  than
• 19:04
  my
• 19:04
  wife
• 19:04
  this
• 19:05
  year
• 19:05
  is
• 19:06
  what
• 19:06
  he
• 19:06
  wrote
• 19:08
  into
• 19:08
  us.
• 19:09
  And,
• 19:10
  you
• 19:10
  know,
• 19:10
  marital
• 19:11
  problems
• 19:11
  aside,
• 19:11
  if
• 19:12
  you're
• 19:12
  listening
• 19:12
  to
• 19:12
  me
• 19:12
  more
• 19:12
  than
• 19:12
  your
• 19:13
  wife,
• 19:13
  then
• 19:13
  I'm
• 19:13
  sorry,
• 19:17
  but
• 19:18
  that
• 19:18
  was
• 19:18
  kind
• 19:19
  of
• 19:19
  a
• 19:19
  oh,
• 19:20
  wow
• 19:20
  moment
• 19:20
  for
• 19:21
  me
• 19:21
  personally
• 19:22
  to
• 19:22
  realize,
• 19:22
  oh,
• 19:23
  yeah,
• 19:23
  you
• 19:23
  really
• 19:23
  are.
• 19:25
  It
• 19:25
  goes
• 19:26
  beyond
• 19:27
  just
• 19:30
  talking
• 19:31
  to
• 19:31
  folks
• 19:31
  and
• 19:31
  it's
• 19:31
  actually
• 19:32
  building
• 19:32
  that
• 19:33
  relationship
• 19:33
  with
• 19:33
  them.
• 19:34
  And
• 19:34
  it
• 19:34
  makes
• 19:35
  sense
• 19:35
  because
• 19:35
  if
• 19:35
  you
• 19:35
  think
• 19:35
  about
• 19:36
  it
• 19:36
  from
• 19:36
  the
• 19:36
  point
• 19:36
  of
• 19:37
  view
• 19:37
  I.
• 19:37
  I
• 19:37
  consume
• 19:38
  quite
• 19:38
  a
• 19:38
  few
• 19:38
  podcasts
• 19:39
  every
• 19:39
  week
• 19:39
  too,
• 19:39
  of
• 19:40
  my
• 19:40
  favorite
• 19:40
  stuff,
• 19:41
  and
• 19:41
  there's
• 19:42
  one
• 19:42
  that
• 19:42
  I.
• 19:42
  I
• 19:42
  don't
• 19:43
  miss
• 19:43
  any
• 19:43
  other
• 19:43
  episodes.
• 19:44
  I
• 19:44
  listen
• 19:44
  to
• 19:44
  them
• 19:45
  every
• 19:45
  single
• 19:45
  day,
• 19:47
  and
• 19:49
  those
• 19:49
  guys
• 19:49
  feel
• 19:49
  like
• 19:50
  my
• 19:50
  friends.
• 19:51
  And
• 19:51
  when
• 19:52
  they're
• 19:52
  gone
• 19:52
  for
• 19:53
  break,
• 19:53
  or
• 19:53
  whatever.
• 19:54
  It
• 19:55
  feels
• 19:55
  weird
• 19:55
  because
• 19:55
  I'm
• 19:56
  not
• 19:56
  listening
• 19:56
  to
• 19:56
  my
• 19:56
  buddies
• 19:56
  talk.
• 19:57
  Even
• 19:57
  though
• 19:57
  I've
• 19:58
  never
• 19:58
  met
• 19:58
  any
• 19:58
  of
• 19:59
  them,
• 19:59
  I.
• 20:00
  They
• 20:01
  feel
• 20:01
  like
• 20:01
  my
• 20:01
  friends.
• 20:02
  It's
• 20:02
  just
• 20:02
  kind
• 20:02
  of
• 20:02
  weird
• 20:03
  to
• 20:03
  be
• 20:03
  on
• 20:03
  the
• 20:03
  other
• 20:03
  side
• 20:04
  of
• 20:04
  that,
• 20:04
  to
• 20:05
  be
• 20:05
  the
• 20:05
  one
• 20:06
  making
• 20:06
  the
• 20:06
  content
• 20:06
  that
• 20:07
  makes
• 20:07
  other
• 20:07
  people
• 20:07
  feel
• 20:08
  that
• 20:08
  way.
• 20:09
  So
• 20:09
  it
• 20:09
  takes
• 20:10
  a
• 20:10
  little
• 20:10
  bit
• 20:10
  of
• 20:10
  getting
• 20:10
  used
• 20:10
  to.
• 20:11
  Yeah,
• 20:12
  I
• 20:12
  mean,
• 20:12
  it's
• 20:12
  super
• 20:12
  neat.
• 20:13
  But
• 20:13
  I
• 20:13
  would
• 20:13
  also
• 20:13
  say
• 20:13
  too,
• 20:14
  and
• 20:14
  you
• 20:14
  and
• 20:14
  I
• 20:14
  have
• 20:14
  talked
• 20:14
  about
• 20:14
  this
• 20:15
  in
• 20:15
  kind
• 20:15
  of
• 20:15
  one
• 20:16
  variety
• 20:16
  or
• 20:16
  another,
• 20:17
  you
• 20:17
  know,
• 20:17
  it's
• 20:18
  really,
• 20:19
  you
• 20:19
  know,
• 20:19
  I
• 20:20
  would
• 20:20
  say
• 20:20
  it's
• 20:20
  different.
• 20:20
  It's
• 20:21
  not
• 20:21
  like
• 20:21
  earth
• 20:21
  shatteringly
• 20:22
  different
• 20:22
  because
• 20:22
  I
• 20:22
  think
• 20:23
  they're,
• 20:23
  you
• 20:23
  know,
• 20:24
  there
• 20:24
  are
• 20:24
  not
• 20:24
  a
• 20:24
  lot
• 20:24
  of
• 20:24
  people
• 20:25
  that
• 20:25
  are
• 20:26
  think
• 20:26
  about
• 20:26
  it
• 20:26
  in
• 20:26
  this
• 20:27
  kind
• 20:27
  of
• 20:27
  deliberate
• 20:27
  trust
• 20:28
  way
• 20:28
  that
• 20:28
  you
• 20:29
  and
• 20:29
  I
• 20:29
  are
• 20:29
  talking
• 20:29
  about
• 20:29
  it.
• 20:30
  And
• 20:30
  then
• 20:30
  I
• 20:30
  think
• 20:30
  there
• 20:30
  are
• 20:30
  a
• 20:30
  lot
• 20:31
  of
• 20:31
  people
• 20:31
  that
• 20:31
  just
• 20:31
  don't
• 20:32
  think
• 20:32
  about
• 20:32
  it
• 20:32
  at
• 20:32
  all.
• 20:33
  Right.
• 20:34
  And
• 20:34
  then
• 20:34
  I
• 20:34
  think
• 20:35
  there
• 20:35
  are
• 20:35
  a
• 20:35
  lot
• 20:35
  of
• 20:35
  people
• 20:35
  that
• 20:35
  have
• 20:36
  just
• 20:36
  made
• 20:36
  the
• 20:36
  deal
• 20:36
  with
• 20:36
  the
• 20:37
  devil
• 20:37
  and
• 20:37
  they
• 20:37
  love
• 20:38
  free
• 20:38
  stuff
• 20:38
  and
• 20:38
  likes
• 20:39
  on
• 20:39
  the
• 20:39
  Internet.
• 20:41
  What
• 20:41
  was
• 20:42
  the
• 20:42
  kind
• 20:42
  of
• 20:42
  light
• 20:42
  bulb
• 20:43
  moment
• 20:43
  for
• 20:43
  you
• 20:45
  where
• 20:45
  you
• 20:46
  were
• 20:46
  able
• 20:46
  to
• 20:48
  say
• 20:49
  we're
• 20:49
  going
• 20:49
  to
• 20:49
  do
• 20:49
  this
• 20:49
  in
• 20:49
  a
• 20:50
  different
• 20:50
  way?
• 20:54
  That's
• 20:55
  a
• 20:55
  really
• 20:55
  good
• 20:55
  question.
• 20:55
  I
• 20:56
  think.
• 21:00
  I
• 21:00
  think
• 21:03
  looking
• 21:04
  at
• 21:08
  how
• 21:08
  some
• 21:08
  of
• 21:08
  these
• 21:09
  other
• 21:09
  shops
• 21:09
  have
• 21:10
  been
• 21:10
  successful
• 21:11
  and
• 21:12
  looking
• 21:12
  at
• 21:14
  why
• 21:15
  they
• 21:15
  were
• 21:15
  successful
• 21:18
  was
• 21:19
  what
• 21:19
  made
• 21:20
  me
• 21:20
  and
• 21:21
  the
• 21:21
  rest
• 21:21
  of
• 21:21
  the
• 21:21
  team
• 21:22
  Adventures
• 21:22
  realize
• 21:23
  that
• 21:23
  we've
• 21:23
  got
• 21:24
  to
• 21:24
  go,
• 21:25
  we've
• 21:26
  got
• 21:26
  to
• 21:26
  go
• 21:26
  a
• 21:26
  slightly
• 21:26
  different
• 21:27
  route
• 21:27
  because
• 21:27
  originally
• 21:27
  we
• 21:28
  were
• 21:28
  writing
• 21:28
  a
• 21:28
  blog
• 21:29
  and
• 21:29
  we
• 21:29
  were
• 21:30
  just
• 21:30
  doing
• 21:30
  written
• 21:30
  content
• 21:31
  and
• 21:31
  thought,
• 21:31
  yeah,
• 21:32
  we'll
• 21:32
  just
• 21:32
  build
• 21:32
  our
• 21:32
  community
• 21:33
  this
• 21:33
  way.
• 21:33
  And
• 21:34
  that's
• 21:34
  not
• 21:34
  a
• 21:34
  terrible
• 21:35
  way
• 21:35
  to
• 21:35
  go
• 21:35
  with
• 21:35
  it,
• 21:35
  but
• 21:36
  it's
• 21:36
  also
• 21:36
  not
• 21:36
  the
• 21:36
  most
• 21:36
  effective
• 21:37
  either.
• 21:39
  You're
• 21:39
  certainly
• 21:40
  not
• 21:40
  going
• 21:40
  to
• 21:40
  reach
• 21:40
  as
• 21:41
  many
• 21:41
  people
• 21:41
  with
• 21:42
  that
• 21:42
  as
• 21:42
  you
• 21:43
  would
• 21:43
  with
• 21:43
  a
• 21:43
  podcast.
• 21:45
  And
• 21:46
  it
• 21:46
  was
• 21:46
  really
• 21:47
  looking
• 21:47
  at
• 21:48
  what
• 21:49
  Tom
• 21:49
  Rosenbauer
• 21:50
  does
• 21:50
  over
• 21:50
  at
• 21:50
  Orvis.
• 21:51
  He's
• 21:52
  been
• 21:52
  doing
• 21:53
  what,
• 21:53
  15,
• 21:54
  14,
• 21:54
  15
• 21:55
  years
• 21:55
  now?
• 21:55
  He's
• 21:55
  been
• 21:55
  doing
• 21:56
  the
• 21:56
  Orvis
• 21:57
  podcast,
• 21:57
  I
• 21:57
  think,
• 21:59
  and
• 22:00
  then
• 22:00
  the
• 22:01
  guys
• 22:01
  over
• 22:01
  at
• 22:01
  Fly
• 22:01
  Fish
• 22:02
  Food
• 22:02
  who
• 22:04
  consistently
• 22:05
  put
• 22:05
  out
• 22:05
  a
• 22:06
  ton
• 22:06
  of
• 22:06
  pretty
• 22:07
  high
• 22:07
  quality
• 22:08
  fly
• 22:08
  tying
• 22:09
  videos.
• 22:09
  And
• 22:09
  for
• 22:09
  a
• 22:09
  long
• 22:09
  time
• 22:10
  that
• 22:10
  was
• 22:10
  most
• 22:10
  of
• 22:10
  their
• 22:11
  content
• 22:11
  was
• 22:11
  fly
• 22:11
  tying
• 22:12
  videos.
• 22:13
  But
• 22:13
  are
• 22:14
  you
• 22:14
  going
• 22:14
  to
• 22:14
  buy
• 22:14
  your
• 22:14
  fly
• 22:15
  tying
• 22:15
  supplies
• 22:16
  from
• 22:17
  the
• 22:17
  crusty
• 22:17
  old
• 22:17
  shop
• 22:18
  down
• 22:18
  the
• 22:18
  street
• 22:18
  with
• 22:19
  the,
• 22:19
  the
• 22:19
  good
• 22:19
  old
• 22:20
  boys
• 22:20
  club
• 22:21
  with
• 22:21
  the
• 22:22
  stale
• 22:22
  pot
• 22:23
  of
• 22:23
  coffee?
• 22:23
  Or
• 22:23
  are
• 22:23
  you
• 22:23
  going
• 22:24
  to
• 22:24
  buy
• 22:24
  it
• 22:24
  from
• 22:25
  the
• 22:25
  funny
• 22:25
  guys
• 22:26
  on
• 22:26
  YouTube
• 22:26
  who
• 22:27
  don't
• 22:27
  take
• 22:28
  it
• 22:28
  too
• 22:28
  seriously
• 22:29
  and
• 22:29
  show
• 22:30
  you
• 22:30
  how
• 22:30
  to
• 22:30
  tie
• 22:30
  all
• 22:30
  the
• 22:30
  flies?
• 22:31
  You
• 22:32
  know,
• 22:32
  which
• 22:32
  one
• 22:32
  are
• 22:32
  you
• 22:33
  going
• 22:33
  to
• 22:33
  pick?
• 22:34
  And
• 22:34
  I
• 22:35
  think
• 22:35
  that
• 22:35
  Just
• 22:35
  looking
• 22:36
  at
• 22:36
  how
• 22:36
  they'd
• 22:37
  manage
• 22:37
  to
• 22:37
  have
• 22:37
  success
• 22:39
  and
• 22:40
  how
• 22:40
  they'd
• 22:41
  managed
• 22:41
  to
• 22:41
  build
• 22:41
  community,
• 22:42
  too.
• 22:42
  Because
• 22:42
  you
• 22:43
  think,
• 22:43
  how
• 22:43
  many
• 22:43
  folks
• 22:44
  buy
• 22:44
  Orvis
• 22:45
  rods
• 22:45
  because
• 22:45
  of
• 22:45
  Tom
• 22:45
  Rosenbauer?
• 22:47
  A
• 22:48
  lot.
• 22:49
  Yeah.
• 22:50
  He's
• 22:51
  more
• 22:51
  valuable
• 22:52
  to
• 22:52
  that
• 22:52
  company
• 22:52
  than
• 22:54
  probably
• 22:54
  any
• 22:54
  other
• 22:54
  employee
• 22:55
  there.
• 22:55
  I
• 22:55
  don't
• 22:56
  say
• 22:56
  that
• 22:56
  as
• 22:56
  a
• 22:56
  slight.
• 22:56
  Any
• 22:57
  other
• 22:57
  employee
• 22:57
  there.
• 22:59
  I
• 22:59
  know
• 22:59
  a
• 22:59
  couple
• 23:00
  of
• 23:00
  the
• 23:00
  guys
• 23:00
  who
• 23:00
  build
• 23:01
  the
• 23:01
  rods
• 23:01
  over
• 23:01
  there,
• 23:01
  and
• 23:01
  they're
• 23:02
  fantastic.
• 23:02
  But
• 23:04
  you
• 23:04
  don't
• 23:04
  sell
• 23:05
  near
• 23:05
  as
• 23:06
  many
• 23:06
  of
• 23:06
  those
• 23:06
  rods
• 23:06
  without
• 23:07
  someone
• 23:07
  like
• 23:07
  Tom,
• 23:08
  because
• 23:09
  people
• 23:09
  trust
• 23:09
  Tom,
• 23:10
  and
• 23:10
  he's
• 23:11
  built
• 23:12
  so
• 23:12
  many
• 23:12
  relationships
• 23:13
  with
• 23:13
  folks
• 23:13
  for
• 23:13
  so
• 23:14
  many
• 23:14
  stinking
• 23:14
  years.
• 23:17
  And
• 23:18
  so
• 23:19
  when
• 23:19
  you're.
• 23:19
  When
• 23:20
  you're
• 23:20
  looking
• 23:20
  at,
• 23:20
  okay,
• 23:20
  how
• 23:21
  do
• 23:21
  we.
• 23:21
  How
• 23:21
  do
• 23:21
  we
• 23:22
  have
• 23:22
  success?
• 23:23
  How
• 23:23
  do
• 23:23
  we
• 23:23
  run
• 23:24
  a
• 23:24
  business
• 23:24
  that's
• 23:24
  going
• 23:25
  to
• 23:25
  be
• 23:25
  successful?
• 23:26
  The
• 23:26
  blueprints
• 23:27
  there,
• 23:27
  it's
• 23:28
  been
• 23:28
  there.
• 23:28
  You
• 23:28
  just
• 23:28
  have
• 23:29
  to
• 23:29
  be
• 23:29
  willing
• 23:29
  to
• 23:29
  look
• 23:29
  at
• 23:29
  it
• 23:31
  or
• 23:31
  look
• 23:31
  for
• 23:31
  it.
• 23:31
  And
• 23:33
  that
• 23:33
  was
• 23:33
  the
• 23:34
  aha
• 23:34
  moment.
• 23:35
  We
• 23:35
  realized,
• 23:35
  you
• 23:35
  know,
• 23:36
  the
• 23:36
  blog's
• 23:36
  not
• 23:36
  the
• 23:36
  way
• 23:37
  to
• 23:37
  go.
• 23:37
  We
• 23:37
  need
• 23:37
  to
• 23:37
  do
• 23:37
  a
• 23:37
  podcast.
• 23:38
  We
• 23:38
  need
• 23:38
  to.
• 23:39
  We
• 23:39
  need
• 23:39
  to
• 23:40
  do
• 23:40
  something
• 23:40
  that's
• 23:40
  a
• 23:40
  bit
• 23:40
  more
• 23:41
  personal,
• 23:41
  that
• 23:42
  allows
• 23:42
  us
• 23:42
  to
• 23:42
  have
• 23:43
  more
• 23:43
  conversations
• 23:44
  with
• 23:44
  people
• 23:45
  instead
• 23:45
  of
• 23:45
  just
• 23:45
  talking
• 23:46
  to
• 23:47
  them.
• 23:48
  And
• 23:48
  that
• 23:48
  was
• 23:48
  the
• 23:48
  issue
• 23:49
  with
• 23:49
  going
• 23:49
  with
• 23:49
  written
• 23:49
  content
• 23:50
  on
• 23:50
  the
• 23:50
  blog,
• 23:50
  was
• 23:51
  it
• 23:51
  felt
• 23:51
  like
• 23:51
  we
• 23:51
  were
• 23:51
  talking
• 23:52
  to
• 23:52
  them
• 23:53
  more
• 23:53
  than
• 23:54
  we
• 23:54
  were
• 23:54
  having
• 23:54
  a
• 23:54
  conversation.
• 23:55
  And
• 23:55
  now
• 23:56
  here
• 23:56
  we
• 23:56
  are
• 23:57
  on
• 23:57
  the
• 23:57
  pod.
• 23:58
  I
• 23:58
  can't
• 23:58
  tell
• 23:58
  you
• 23:59
  I
• 23:59
  mentioned
• 24:00
  it
• 24:00
  earlier,
• 24:00
  but
• 24:00
  I.
• 24:01
  Couple
• 24:01
  of
• 24:01
  the
• 24:02
  running
• 24:02
  jokes
• 24:02
  on
• 24:02
  the
• 24:02
  podcast
• 24:03
  are
• 24:03
  I
• 24:03
  love
• 24:03
  Diet
• 24:04
  Coke
• 24:04
  and
• 24:04
  I
• 24:04
  love
• 24:04
  buffalo
• 24:05
  wings.
• 24:06
  So
• 24:06
  there's
• 24:06
  always
• 24:06
  a
• 24:07
  can
• 24:07
  of
• 24:07
  Diet
• 24:07
  Coke
• 24:07
  on
• 24:08
  the
• 24:08
  desk
• 24:08
  when
• 24:09
  I'm
• 24:09
  recording
• 24:09
  the
• 24:09
  show.
• 24:10
  And
• 24:10
  then
• 24:10
  I
• 24:11
  always
• 24:11
  make
• 24:11
  some
• 24:12
  joke
• 24:12
  or
• 24:12
  reference
• 24:13
  to
• 24:13
  me
• 24:13
  stuffing
• 24:14
  my
• 24:14
  face
• 24:14
  with
• 24:14
  Buffalo
• 24:15
  wings.
• 24:15
  Right.
• 24:15
  The
• 24:15
  fish.
• 24:16
  Fish
• 24:16
  is
• 24:16
  going
• 24:16
  to
• 24:16
  hit
• 24:16
  that
• 24:17
  fly
• 24:17
  like
• 24:17
  I
• 24:17
  hit
• 24:17
  a
• 24:17
  plate
• 24:18
  of
• 24:18
  Buffalo
• 24:18
  wings.
• 24:19
  And
• 24:22
  being
• 24:22
  able
• 24:23
  to
• 24:23
  inject
• 24:24
  that
• 24:24
  little
• 24:24
  bit
• 24:24
  of
• 24:25
  personality
• 24:26
  into
• 24:26
  it
• 24:26
  and
• 24:27
  have
• 24:27
  those
• 24:27
  recurring
• 24:28
  themes
• 24:28
  helps.
• 24:29
  But
• 24:30
  I'd
• 24:31
  say
• 24:31
  probably
• 24:31
  60,
• 24:32
  70%
• 24:32
  of
• 24:33
  our
• 24:33
  questions
• 24:33
  that
• 24:34
  we
• 24:34
  get
• 24:34
  into
• 24:34
  the
• 24:34
  podcast,
• 24:35
  someone's
• 24:35
  chiming
• 24:36
  in
• 24:36
  on
• 24:36
  whether
• 24:36
  or
• 24:36
  not
• 24:36
  Diet
• 24:37
  Coke's
• 24:37
  good
• 24:37
  or
• 24:38
  what
• 24:38
  their
• 24:38
  favorite
• 24:38
  wing
• 24:38
  sauce
• 24:39
  is.
• 24:40
  So
• 24:40
  just.
• 24:41
  Just
• 24:41
  silly
• 24:41
  little
• 24:42
  things
• 24:42
  like
• 24:42
  that
• 24:43
  have
• 24:44
  built
• 24:45
  community
• 24:45
  in
• 24:45
  ways
• 24:45
  that
• 24:46
  I
• 24:46
  didn't
• 24:46
  even
• 24:46
  really
• 24:47
  anticipate.
• 24:48
  Yeah.
• 24:48
  And
• 24:48
  it's
• 24:49
  interesting,
• 24:49
  right,
• 24:49
  because
• 24:49
  once
• 24:50
  you.
• 24:51
  I
• 24:51
  think
• 24:51
  another
• 24:52
  shop
• 24:52
  that
• 24:52
  does
• 24:52
  a
• 24:53
  great
• 24:53
  job
• 24:53
  with
• 24:53
  this
• 24:53
  is
• 24:53
  Schultz
• 24:54
  Outfitters.
• 24:54
  Right.
• 24:56
  And,
• 24:56
  you
• 24:56
  know,
• 24:57
  in
• 24:57
  terms
• 24:57
  of

• 24:58
  building
• 24:59
  physical
• 24:59
  community
• 25:00
  and
• 25:00
  kind
• 25:00
  of
• 25:00
  reaching
• 25:01
  out
• 25:01
  to
• 25:01
  people
• 25:01
  and,
• 25:02
  you
• 25:02
  know,
• 25:02
  particularly
• 25:03
  during
• 25:03
  the
• 25:03
  long
• 25:03
  Michigan
• 25:04
  winters,
• 25:04
  they've
• 25:04
  got
• 25:04
  great
• 25:05
  tying
• 25:05
  stuff.
• 25:05
  But,
• 25:06
  you
• 25:06
  know,
• 25:06
  once
• 25:07
  you
• 25:07
  kind
• 25:07
  of
• 25:07
  see
• 25:08
  kind
• 25:08
  of
• 25:08
  this
• 25:08
  aha
• 25:09
  moment,
• 25:09
  it
• 25:09
  kind
• 25:10
  of
• 25:10
  flows
• 25:10
  downstream
• 25:11
  into
• 25:11
  all

  other
• 25:12

• 25:12
  right?
• 25:13
  Yeah.
• 25:14
  Because
• 25:16
  you
• 25:17
  just
• 25:17
  can't
• 25:17
  use
• 25:18
  Instagram
• 25:19
  and
• 25:19
  other
• 25:19
  tools
• 25:20
  the
• 25:20
  same
• 25:20
  way,
• 25:20
  right?
• 25:22
  No,
• 25:22
  you
• 25:22
  can't.
• 25:23
  You've
• 25:23
  gotta
• 25:23
  be
• 25:24
  authentic
• 25:25
  and
• 25:25
  how
• 25:25
  you're
• 25:25
  communicating
• 25:27
  or
• 25:27
  people
• 25:27
  are
• 25:27
  gonna
• 25:28
  see
• 25:28
  through
• 25:28
  it.
• 25:28
  Especially
• 25:28
  if
• 25:29
  you've
• 25:29
  been
• 25:29
  authentic
• 25:30
  in
• 25:30
  one
• 25:30
  platform.
• 25:32
  Yeah,
• 25:32
  it's.
• 25:33
  I
• 25:33
  don't
• 25:33
  know,
• 25:33
  it's
• 25:33
  an
• 25:33
  interesting
• 25:34
  thing.
• 25:34
  Is
• 25:34
  there
• 25:34
  something
• 25:34
  kind
• 25:35
  of.
• 25:35
  And
• 25:35
  we'll
• 25:35
  drill
• 25:36
  a
• 25:36
  little
• 25:36
  bit
• 25:36
  more
• 25:36
  into
• 25:37
  the
• 25:37
  social
• 25:37
  media
• 25:37
  aspect
• 25:38
  of
• 25:38
  it,
• 25:38
  but,
• 25:38
  you
• 25:39
  know,
• 25:39
  is
• 25:39
  there
• 25:39
  something
• 25:39
  kind
• 25:40
  of,
• 25:40
  as
• 25:40
  you
• 25:40
  like,
• 25:40
  made
• 25:41
  the
• 25:41
  transition
• 25:41
  from
• 25:42
  blog
• 25:42
  to
• 25:42
  podcast
• 25:43
  that
• 25:43
  really
• 25:43
  kind
• 25:43
  of
• 25:44
  surprised
• 25:45
  you?
• 25:45
  In
• 25:45
  addition
• 25:45
  to
• 25:45
  kind
• 25:45
  of
• 25:46
  the
• 25:46
  randomness
• 25:46
  of
• 25:47
  where
• 25:47
  the
• 25:47
  community
• 25:48
  connections
• 25:48
  come
• 25:48
  from.
• 25:50
  How
• 25:50
  much,
• 25:54
  how
• 25:54
  different
• 25:55
  it
• 25:55
  is
• 25:57
  from
• 25:57
  just
• 25:57
  writing.
• 25:59
  I
• 26:00
  think
• 26:00
  was
• 26:00
  the
• 26:00
  big
• 26:00
  thing
• 26:01
  that
• 26:01
  surprised
• 26:01
  me
• 26:02
  in
• 26:02
  terms
• 26:03
  of
• 26:04
  the
• 26:04
  medium
• 26:04
  itself
• 26:05
  is
• 26:06
  you
• 26:06
  think,
• 26:07
  oh,
• 26:07
  I
• 26:07
  write
• 26:08
  pretty
• 26:08
  well
• 26:08
  and
• 26:08
  I've
• 26:09
  always
• 26:09
  been
• 26:09
  able
• 26:09
  to
• 26:09
  talk
• 26:09
  well.
• 26:10
  So
• 26:10
  I
• 26:10
  thought,
• 26:10
  oh,
• 26:10
  it's.
• 26:11
  I
• 26:11
  just
• 26:11
  write
• 26:12
  my
• 26:12
  script
• 26:12
  out
• 26:12
  and
• 26:12
  I'll
• 26:12
  read
• 26:12
  it
• 26:13
  and
• 26:13
  it'll
• 26:13
  be
• 26:13
  great.
• 26:13
  But
• 26:13
  then
• 26:15
  you
• 26:15
  play
• 26:16
  back
• 26:16
  and
• 26:16
  you
• 26:16
  realize
• 26:17
  it
• 26:17
  sounds
• 26:17
  like
• 26:17
  you're
• 26:17
  reading
• 26:17
  a
• 26:18
  script.
• 26:20
  That's
• 26:20
  not
• 26:21
  what
• 26:21
  you
• 26:21
  want
• 26:21
  to
• 26:21
  sound
• 26:21
  like,
• 26:22
  especially
• 26:22
  on
• 26:22
  this
• 26:22
  kind
• 26:23
  of
• 26:23
  a
• 26:23
  show.
• 26:23
  There's
• 26:23
  some
• 26:23
  shows
• 26:24
  where
• 26:24
  reading
• 26:25
  the
• 26:25
  script
• 26:25
  is
• 26:25
  what
• 26:25
  you
• 26:26
  want
• 26:26
  it
• 26:26
  to
• 26:26
  sound
• 26:26
  like,
• 26:26
  but
• 26:26
  that's
• 26:27
  not
• 26:27
  what
• 26:27
  we
• 26:27
  wanted
• 26:27
  this
• 26:27
  to
• 26:28
  sound
• 26:28
  like.
• 26:28
  I
• 26:28
  want
• 26:28
  to
• 26:28
  be
• 26:29
  personal.
• 26:29
  We
• 26:29
  wanted
• 26:29
  it
• 26:29
  to
• 26:30
  be
• 26:30
  something
• 26:31
  that
• 26:31
  engages
• 26:31
  with
• 26:31
  folks.
• 26:33
  So
• 26:33
  that
• 26:33
  was,
• 26:34
  that
• 26:34
  was
• 26:34
  probably
• 26:34
  the
• 26:35
  big
• 26:36
  surprise
• 26:36
  to
• 26:36
  me
• 26:36
  was
• 26:37
  how
• 26:37
  much
• 26:38
  work
• 26:38
  and
• 26:38
  effort
• 26:39
  it
• 26:39
  takes
• 26:40
  to
• 26:40
  sound
• 26:41
  natural
• 26:41
  and
• 26:41
  sound
• 26:42
  conversational.
• 26:43
  I
• 26:43
  think
• 26:43
  that
• 26:43
  surprises
• 26:44
  folks
• 26:44
  a
• 26:44
  lot
• 26:45
  more
• 26:46
  than
• 26:46
  they
• 26:47
  would
• 26:47
  realize
• 26:47
  if,
• 26:47
  you
• 26:48
  know,
• 26:48
  folks
• 26:48
  who've
• 26:48
  tried
• 26:49
  to
• 26:49
  do
• 26:49
  their
• 26:49
  own
• 26:49
  podcast
• 26:50
  would
• 26:50
  probably
• 26:50
  run
• 26:50
  into
• 26:51
  that,
• 26:51
  I
• 26:51
  would
• 26:51
  imagine.
• 26:53
  Yeah.
• 26:53
  Interesting.
• 26:54
  And
• 26:54
  so,
• 26:54
  you
• 26:54
  know,
• 26:55
  we've
• 26:55
  got
• 26:55
  kind
• 26:56
  of,
• 26:57
  you
• 26:57
  know,
• 26:57
  I
• 26:57
  guess,
• 26:58
  I
• 26:58
  guess
• 26:58
  the
• 26:58
  way
• 26:58
  I
• 26:58
  would
• 26:58
  think
• 26:58
  about
• 26:58
  it,
• 26:59
  we
• 26:59
  were
• 26:59
  talking
• 26:59
  earlier,
• 26:59
  I
• 26:59
  think
• 27:00
  there
• 27:00
  are
• 27:00
  people
• 27:00
  that
• 27:00
  think
• 27:00
  about
• 27:00
  it
• 27:01
  and
• 27:01
  obsess
• 27:01
  about
• 27:01
  it
• 27:01
  like
• 27:02
  we
• 27:02
  do.
• 27:02
  Right.
• 27:03
  And
• 27:03
  I'm
• 27:03
  not
• 27:03
  saying
• 27:03
  that's
• 27:04
  like
• 27:04
  we're
• 27:04
  geniuses
• 27:05
  or
• 27:05
  anything.
• 27:05
  It's
• 27:05
  just
• 27:05
  kind
• 27:05
  of
• 27:06
  what
• 27:06
  we
• 27:06
  obsess
• 27:06
  about.
• 27:07
  Yeah.
• 27:07
  And
• 27:08
  then
• 27:08
  I
• 27:08
  think
• 27:08
  they're
• 27:08
  people
• 27:08
  that
• 27:08
  are
• 27:09
  just
• 27:09
  kind
• 27:09
  of
• 27:09
  doing
• 27:09
  it
• 27:09
  it
• 27:10
  and
• 27:10
  don't
• 27:10
  really
• 27:10
  kind
• 27:11
  of
• 27:11
  think
• 27:11
  about
• 27:11
  these
• 27:11
  community
• 27:12
  building
• 27:12
  things.
• 27:12
  They
• 27:12
  just
• 27:13
  do
• 27:13
  it
• 27:13
  because
• 27:13
  it's
• 27:13
  fun,
• 27:13
  which
• 27:14
  is
• 27:14
  fine.
• 27:14
  And
• 27:14
  there's
• 27:14
  kind
• 27:15
  of
• 27:15
  a
• 27:15
  darker
• 27:16
  side
• 27:16
  of
• 27:16
  influencer
• 27:17
  culture.
• 27:18
  And
• 27:18
  it's
• 27:19
  kind
• 27:19
  of
• 27:19
  interesting
• 27:19
  to
• 27:20
  me.
• 27:20
  Right.
• 27:20
  Because
• 27:22
  I'm
• 27:22
  a
• 27:22
  Generation
• 27:22
  X
• 27:23
  guy,
• 27:23
  so
• 27:23
  I
• 27:23
  didn't
• 27:23
  have
• 27:24
  technology
• 27:25
  all
• 27:25
  the
• 27:25
  time.
• 27:26
  And
• 27:26
  so
• 27:26
  I
• 27:26
  see
• 27:27
  it
• 27:27
  as
• 27:27
  this
• 27:27
  great
• 27:27
  connection
• 27:28
  tool.
• 27:28
  But
• 27:29
  there
• 27:29
  seem
• 27:29
  to
• 27:29
  be
• 27:29
  so
• 27:30
  many
• 27:30
  people
• 27:30
  that
• 27:30
  kind
• 27:30
  of
• 27:30
  get
• 27:31
  sucked
• 27:31
  down
• 27:31
  this
• 27:31
  rat
• 27:32
  hole
• 27:33
  of
• 27:33
  hacking
• 27:34
  people's
• 27:34
  attention
• 27:35
  and
• 27:35
  not,
• 27:35
  I
• 27:35
  mean,
• 27:36
  you
• 27:36
  have
• 27:36
  literally
• 27:36
  in
• 27:36
  the
• 27:37
  palm
• 27:37
  of
• 27:37
  your
• 27:37
  hand
• 27:37
  $1000
• 27:38
  supercomputer
• 27:40
  that
• 27:40
  can
• 27:40
  connect
• 27:40
  you
• 27:40
  with
• 27:41
  anyone
• 27:41
  in
• 27:41
  the
• 27:41
  world
• 27:41
  that
• 27:42
  likes
• 27:42
  the
• 27:42
  same
• 27:42
  stuff
• 27:43
  that
• 27:43
  you
• 27:43
  do.
• 27:43
  Right?
• 27:44
  Yeah,
• 27:46
  no,
• 27:47
  it's,
• 27:50
  it's
• 27:50
  easy
• 27:50
  to
• 27:50
  get
• 27:51
  sucked
• 27:51
  into
• 27:51
  it
• 27:51
  and
• 27:52
  it's
• 27:52
  easy
• 27:52
  to
• 27:52
  just,
• 27:57
  it's
• 27:57
  easy
• 27:57
  to
• 27:57
  just
• 27:57
  do
• 27:58
  it
• 27:58
  for
• 27:58
  the
• 27:58
  free
• 27:58
  stuff
• 27:59
  more
• 28:00
  than
• 28:00
  anything.
• 28:01
  I
• 28:01
  mean,
• 28:04
  one
• 28:04
  of
• 28:04
  the
• 28:04
  big
• 28:04
  perks
• 28:05
  of
• 28:06
  the
• 28:06
  gear
• 28:06
  reviews
• 28:07
  and
• 28:07
  the
• 28:07
  writing
• 28:07
  I
• 28:07
  do
• 28:07
  for
• 28:08
  Flylords
• 28:08
  is
• 28:09
  you
• 28:10
  get
• 28:10
  to
• 28:10
  keep
• 28:10
  a
• 28:10
  lot
• 28:10
  of
• 28:10
  the
• 28:11
  gear,
• 28:12
  especially
• 28:12
  the
• 28:12
  waiters
• 28:13
  and
• 28:13
  boots.
• 28:13
  I
• 28:13
  can't
• 28:14
  resell
• 28:14
  that
• 28:14
  stuff.
• 28:15
  So
• 28:15
  the
• 28:15
  soft
• 28:15
  goods,
• 28:16
  especially
• 28:16
  fly
• 28:17
  rods,
• 28:17
  it's
• 28:17
  kind
• 28:17
  of
• 28:17
  a
• 28:17
  toss
• 28:18
  up
• 28:18
  whether
• 28:18
  you
• 28:18
  get
• 28:18
  to
• 28:18
  keep
• 28:18
  those
• 28:19
  or
• 28:19
  not.
• 28:20
  But
• 28:21
  you
• 28:21
  get
• 28:21
  to
• 28:22
  build
• 28:22
  up
• 28:22
  this
• 28:23
  nice
• 28:23
  collection
• 28:23
  of
• 28:23
  gear
• 28:23
  and
• 28:24
  it's
• 28:24
  a
• 28:24
  lot
• 28:24
  of
• 28:24
  fun
• 28:24
  and
• 28:25
  you
• 28:25
  can
• 28:25
  really
• 28:26
  put,
• 28:27
  put
• 28:27
  some
• 28:27
  good
• 28:28
  stuff,
• 28:28
  put
• 28:29
  a
• 28:29
  good
• 28:29
  collection
• 28:29
  of
• 28:29
  gear
• 28:30
  together.
• 28:31
  And
• 28:31
  I
• 28:31
  don't
• 28:32
  know
• 28:32
  anybody
• 28:32
  who
• 28:32
  gets
• 28:32
  into
• 28:33
  this
• 28:34
  that
• 28:34
  doesn't
• 28:34
  enjoy
• 28:35
  their
• 28:35
  gear
• 28:35
  in
• 28:35
  some
• 28:36
  way
• 28:36
  or
• 28:36
  another.
• 28:37
  So
• 28:37
  the
• 28:37
  chance
• 28:38
  to
• 28:38
  get
• 28:38
  it
• 28:38
  for
• 28:39
  free
• 28:39
  or
• 28:39
  for
• 28:39
  a
• 28:39
  discount
• 28:40
  or.
• 28:40
  Oh,
• 28:40
  you
• 28:40
  just
• 28:41
  got
• 28:41
  to
• 28:41
  make
• 28:41
  a
• 28:41
  video
• 28:41
  about
• 28:41
  it
• 28:42
  there,
• 28:42
  there's
• 28:43
  a
• 28:43
  lot
• 28:43
  of
• 28:43
  folks
• 28:43
  who
• 28:43
  get
• 28:44
  seduced
• 28:44
  by
• 28:44
  that
• 28:45
  and,
• 28:46
  and
• 28:47
  they're
• 28:47
  willing
• 28:47
  to
• 28:47
  do
• 28:47
  just
• 28:48
  about
• 28:48
  anything
• 28:49
  for
• 28:49
  the
• 28:50
  stuff.
• 28:51
  But
• 28:51
  I
• 28:51
  think
• 28:51
  the
• 28:52
  trend's
• 28:52
  kind
• 28:53
  of
• 28:53
  moving
• 28:53
  away
• 28:53
  from
• 28:53
  that
• 28:54
  because
• 28:56
  the
• 28:57
  fluffy
• 28:59
  gear
• 28:59
  reviews
• 29:00
  that
• 29:00
  you
• 29:00
  used
• 29:01
  to
• 29:01
  see,
• 29:01
  especially
• 29:01
  by
• 29:02
  a
• 29:02
  lot
• 29:02
  of
• 29:02
  fly
• 29:02
  shops,
• 29:03
  I
• 29:03
  don't
• 29:03
  know
• 29:03
  if
• 29:03
  you
• 29:03
  ever
• 29:03
  read
• 29:03
  a
• 29:03
  lot
• 29:03
  of
• 29:04
  fly
• 29:04
  shop
• 29:04
  gear
• 29:04
  reviews,
• 29:05
  but
• 29:06
  the
• 29:06
  fly
• 29:07
  shops
• 29:07
  have
• 29:07
  a
• 29:07
  vested
• 29:08
  interest
• 29:08
  in
• 29:08
  selling
• 29:08
  you
• 29:08
  that
• 29:09
  product.
• 29:10
  So
• 29:10
  why
• 29:10
  would
• 29:11
  they
• 29:11
  write
• 29:11
  a
• 29:11
  negative
• 29:11
  review
• 29:12
  of
• 29:12
  that
• 29:12
  product?
• 29:14
  Right.
• 29:14
  You
• 29:14
  gotta
• 29:15
  ask
• 29:15
  yourself
• 29:15
  that
• 29:15
  question.
• 29:17
  So
• 29:18
  the
• 29:18
  really
• 29:18
  fluffy
• 29:19
  gear
• 29:19
  reviews
• 29:20
  I
• 29:20
  think
• 29:20
  are
• 29:21
  on
• 29:21
  the
• 29:21
  way
• 29:21
  out
• 29:21
  and
• 29:22
  there's,
• 29:22
  there's
• 29:22
  still
• 29:23
  the
• 29:23
  cozy
• 29:23
  relationship
• 29:24
  or
• 29:26
  whatever
• 29:26
  manufacturer
• 29:27
  is
• 29:28
  buying
• 29:29
  50,
• 29:29
  60
• 29:29
  grand
• 29:30
  worth
• 29:30
  of
• 29:30
  ad
• 29:30
  space
• 29:31
  this
• 29:31
  year,
• 29:32
  so.
• 29:32
  And
• 29:33
  they've
• 29:33
  got
• 29:33
  a
• 29:33
  new
• 29:33
  rod
• 29:33
  coming
• 29:34
  out.
• 29:34
  Are
• 29:34
  you
• 29:34
  going
• 29:34
  to
• 29:34
  say
• 29:34
  anything
• 29:35
  negative
• 29:35
  about
• 29:35
  it?
• 29:35
  No,
• 29:36
  because
• 29:36
  they
• 29:36
  just
• 29:36
  paid
• 29:36
  your
• 29:37
  salary
• 29:37
  for
• 29:37
  the
• 29:37
  whole
• 29:38
  year.
• 29:38
  So
• 29:38
  there's
• 29:38
  still
• 29:39
  that
• 29:39
  conflict
• 29:40
  too.
• 29:40
  But
• 29:41
  I,
• 29:41
  I
• 29:41
  also
• 29:41
  think
• 29:44
  the
• 29:44
  brands
• 29:45
  themselves,
• 29:46
  the
• 29:46
  manufacturers
• 29:47
  themselves
• 29:47
  are
• 29:48
  more
• 29:49
  open
• 29:51
  to
• 29:51
  the
• 29:51
  honesty
• 29:51
  now
• 29:52
  than
• 29:52
  maybe
• 29:52
  they
• 29:52
  were
• 29:52
  because
• 29:53
  folks
• 29:53
  are
• 29:53
  just
• 29:53
  seeing
• 29:54
  through
• 29:55
  the,
• 29:56
  the
• 29:56
  influencers,
• 29:58
  the
• 29:58
  influencers
• 29:59
  who
• 29:59
  are
• 29:59
  just
• 29:59
  pushing
• 30:01
  content
• 30:01
  to
• 30:01
  get
• 30:02
  free
• 30:02
  stuff.
• 30:04
  And
• 30:04
  that's
• 30:04
  something
• 30:04
  that
• 30:05
  I've
• 30:05
  tried
• 30:05
  really
• 30:05
  hard
• 30:05
  to,
• 30:06
  to
• 30:06
  do
• 30:06
  is
• 30:06
  just
• 30:07
  to
• 30:07
  be
• 30:07
  honest
• 30:08
  and
• 30:08
  to
• 30:08
  walk
• 30:08
  through
• 30:10
  the
• 30:10
  failings
• 30:11
  of
• 30:11
  any
• 30:11
  gear
• 30:12
  that
• 30:12
  I'VE
• 30:12
  got
• 30:13
  the
• 30:14
  st.
• 30:15
  Croix
• 30:15
  Evos,
• 30:16
  9
• 30:16
  foot
• 30:17
  5
• 30:17
  weight.
• 30:17
  Their
• 30:18
  new
• 30:18
  flagship
• 30:20
  all
• 30:20
  purpose
• 30:21
  trout
• 30:21
  rod.
• 30:22
  Don't
• 30:23
  know
• 30:23
  if
• 30:23
  you
• 30:23
  had
• 30:23
  a
• 30:23
  chance
• 30:23
  to
• 30:23
  fish
• 30:24
  that
• 30:24
  yet.
• 30:26
  It's
• 30:26
  an
• 30:26
  interesting
• 30:27
  stick,
• 30:28
  but
• 30:28
  it's
• 30:29
  got
• 30:29
  almost
• 30:30
  no
• 30:30
  feel
• 30:30
  like
• 30:31
  30ft.
• 30:31
  Just
• 30:32
  a
• 30:32
  very
• 30:32
  stiff,
• 30:33
  very
• 30:33
  sort
• 30:34
  of
• 30:34
  unresponsive
• 30:35
  rod.
• 30:36
  And
• 30:36
  I've
• 30:36
  been
• 30:36
  pretty
• 30:36
  open
• 30:37
  about
• 30:37
  that
• 30:37
  and
• 30:37
  all
• 30:38
  my
• 30:38
  reviews
• 30:38
  about
• 30:38
  it.
• 30:38
  It
• 30:39
  doesn't
• 30:39
  mean
• 30:39
  I
• 30:39
  dislike
• 30:40
  it.
• 30:40
  I
• 30:40
  don't
• 30:40
  think
• 30:41
  St.
• 30:41
  Croix
• 30:42
  bad
• 30:42
  company
• 30:42
  or
• 30:43
  anything.
• 30:43
  I
• 30:43
  just,
• 30:44
  it's,
• 30:44
  it's
• 30:45
  where
• 30:45
  that
• 30:45
  rod
• 30:45
  suffers.
• 30:46
  Now
• 30:46
  if
• 30:46
  you
• 30:46
  need
• 30:46
  a
• 30:47
  rod
• 30:47
  to
• 30:47
  chuck
• 30:47
  hopper
• 30:48
  dropper
• 30:48
  rigs
• 30:49
  or
• 30:49
  streamers
• 30:49
  or
• 30:49
  heavy
• 30:50
  nymph
• 30:50
  rigs
• 30:50
  from
• 30:51
  the
• 30:51
  boat,
• 30:52
  yeah,
• 30:53
  it's
• 30:53
  a
• 30:53
  great
• 30:53
  ride.
• 30:54
  But
• 30:54
  if
• 30:54
  you
• 30:54
  need
• 30:54
  fine
• 30:55
  dry
• 30:55
  fly
• 30:56
  work
• 30:56
  in
• 30:56
  close,
• 30:56
  it's
• 30:57
  probably
• 30:58
  not
• 30:59
  the
• 30:59
  direction
• 30:59
  that
• 30:59
  I
• 31:00
  would
• 31:00
  personally
• 31:00
  go,
• 31:01
  just
• 31:01
  it's
• 31:01
  a
• 31:01
  little
• 31:01
  too
• 31:02
  stiff.
• 31:04
  But
• 31:04
  being
• 31:05
  able
• 31:05
  to
• 31:05
  have
• 31:05
  that
• 31:06
  conversation
• 31:06
  and
• 31:06
  point
• 31:07
  that
• 31:07
  out
• 31:07
  to
• 31:07
  folks,
• 31:10
  I
• 31:10
  think
• 31:10
  people
• 31:10
  appreciate
• 31:11
  that
• 31:11
  more.
• 31:12
  So
• 31:13
  to,
• 31:13
  to
• 31:13
  bring
• 31:14
  it
• 31:14
  all
• 31:14
  back,
• 31:15
  I,
• 31:15
  I
• 31:15
  think
• 31:16
  that
• 31:16
  darker
• 31:16
  side
• 31:17
  of
• 31:17
  the
• 31:17
  influencer
• 31:18
  culture
• 31:19
  is
• 31:19
  still
• 31:19
  there,
• 31:19
  but
• 31:19
  I,
• 31:19
  I
• 31:20
  think
• 31:21
  people
• 31:21
  are
• 31:21
  finally
• 31:22
  starting
• 31:22
  to
• 31:22
  see
• 31:22
  through
• 31:23
  it
• 31:23
  and
• 31:24
  there's
• 31:24
  just,
• 31:24
  they're
• 31:24
  just
• 31:25
  not
• 31:25
  engaging
• 31:25
  with
• 31:25
  it
• 31:25
  anymore.
• 31:26
  I
• 31:26
  mean,
• 31:26
  it's
• 31:27
  why
• 31:29
  you
• 31:29
  see
• 31:29
  this
• 31:30
  on,
• 31:31
  on
• 31:31
  a
• 31:31
  broader
• 31:32
  scale.
• 31:32
  If
• 31:32
  you
• 31:32
  take
• 31:33
  a
• 31:33
  step
• 31:33
  back
• 31:33
  and
• 31:33
  look
• 31:34
  at
• 31:34
  all
• 31:34
  content,
• 31:34
  not
• 31:35
  just
• 31:35
  fly
• 31:35
  fishing,
• 31:36
  but
• 31:36
  if
• 31:36
  you
• 31:36
  look
• 31:37
  at
• 31:37
  all
• 31:37
  the
• 31:37
  content
• 31:37
  that's
• 31:38
  popping
• 31:38
  off
• 31:39
  on
• 31:39
  YouTube
• 31:39
  this
• 31:39
  year,
• 31:40
  especially
• 31:41
  the
• 31:41
  channels
• 31:42
  that
• 31:42
  are
• 31:42
  seeing
• 31:42
  the
• 31:42
  most,
• 31:43
  most
• 31:43
  growth
• 31:44
  and
• 31:44
  most
• 31:44
  traction
• 31:46
  are
• 31:47
  the
• 31:47
  smaller
• 31:48
  channels,
• 31:48
  the
• 31:48
  quote
• 31:48
  unquote
• 31:49
  ordinary
• 31:49
  people.
• 31:51
  Because
• 31:51
  those
• 31:51
  are
• 31:51
  the
• 31:52
  ones
• 31:52
  who
• 31:53
  strike
• 31:54
  people
• 31:54
  as
• 31:54
  more
• 31:54
  authentic.
• 31:55
  Because
• 31:55
  once
• 31:55
  you
• 31:55
  get
• 31:56
  so
• 31:56
  big,
• 31:56
  you
• 31:56
  get
• 31:56
  really
• 31:56
  big.
• 31:57
  You
• 31:57
  get
• 31:57
  almost
• 31:58
  too
• 31:58
  big
• 31:58
  for
• 31:58
  your
• 31:58
  britches,
• 31:59
  you
• 31:59
  lose
• 31:59
  a
• 31:59
  little
• 31:59
  bit
• 31:59
  of
• 31:59
  the
• 32:00
  spark
• 32:00
  that
• 32:01
  got
• 32:02
  you
• 32:02
  there.
• 32:02
  And
• 32:03
  a
• 32:03
  lot
• 32:03
  of
• 32:03
  places
• 32:03
  run
• 32:04
  into
• 32:04
  that
• 32:04
  problem.
• 32:04
  A
• 32:05
  lot
• 32:05
  of
• 32:05
  media
• 32:05
  companies
• 32:06
  run
• 32:06
  into
• 32:06
  that
• 32:06
  problem.
• 32:06
  They
• 32:07
  just
• 32:07
  try
• 32:07
  and
• 32:08
  grow
• 32:08
  and
• 32:08
  grow
• 32:08
  and
• 32:08
  grow
• 32:09
  so
• 32:09
  much
• 32:10
  and
• 32:10
  they
• 32:11
  lose
• 32:11
  a
• 32:11
  lot
• 32:11
  of
• 32:12
  the
• 32:12
  sweat
• 32:13
  equity
• 32:13
  that
• 32:14
  made
• 32:14
  their
• 32:14
  content
• 32:14
  great.
• 32:16
  So
• 32:16
  you
• 32:17
  look
• 32:17
  at
• 32:17
  these
• 32:18
  smaller
• 32:19
  creators
• 32:20
  who
• 32:20
  are
• 32:20
  still
• 32:21
  putting
• 32:21
  everything
• 32:21
  they've
• 32:22
  got
• 32:22
  into
• 32:22
  their
• 32:22
  content
• 32:23
  and
• 32:23
  they're
• 32:24
  seeing
• 32:24
  more
• 32:24
  growth
• 32:25
  and
• 32:25
  success
• 32:26
  than
• 32:26
  your
• 32:26
  bigger
• 32:27
  brands.
• 32:27
  And
• 32:28
  I
• 32:28
  think
• 32:28
  that
• 32:28
  holds
• 32:28
  true
• 32:29
  for
• 32:29
  fly
• 32:29
  fishing
• 32:30
  on
• 32:30
  the
• 32:30
  micro
• 32:30
  scale.
• 32:31
  When
• 32:31
  we
• 32:31
  zoom
• 32:31
  in
• 32:31
  on
• 32:32
  us
• 32:32
  is
• 32:33
  the
• 32:33
  people
• 32:34
  who
• 32:34
  are
• 32:34
  willing
• 32:35
  be
• 32:35
  honest
• 32:35
  about
• 32:36
  stuff
• 32:36
  and
• 32:36
  to
• 32:37
  say,
• 32:37
  hey,
• 32:37
  Orvis
• 32:38
  says
• 32:38
  the
• 32:39
  Helios
• 32:39
  is
• 32:41
  however
• 32:42
  many,
• 32:42
  I
• 32:42
  forget
• 32:43
  the
• 32:43
  percent
• 32:43
  off
• 32:43
  my
• 32:44
  head.
• 32:44
  It's
• 32:44
  however
• 32:45
  many
• 32:45
  percent
• 32:45
  more
• 32:45
  accurate
• 32:46
  than
• 32:46
  the
• 32:46
  H3.
• 32:48
  Okay,
• 32:50
  how
• 32:50
  do
• 32:50
  you
• 32:50
  measure
• 32:51
  that?
• 32:51
  Is
• 32:52
  it
• 32:52
  actually
• 32:52
  that
• 32:53
  more
• 32:53
  accurate
• 32:53
  and
• 32:53
  doesn't
• 32:54
  matter.
• 32:54
  The
• 32:54
  people
• 32:55
  were
• 32:55
  willing
• 32:55
  to
• 32:56
  go
• 32:56
  down
• 32:56
  that
• 32:57
  road
• 32:57
  and
• 32:57
  actually
• 32:57
  question,
• 32:58
  engage
• 32:58
  with
• 32:58
  stuff
• 32:59
  are
• 32:59
  the
• 32:59
  people
• 33:00
  that
• 33:00
  I,
• 33:01
  I
• 33:01
  think
• 33:01
  are
• 33:01
  getting
• 33:02
  rewarded
• 33:02
  in
• 33:03
  the
• 33:03
  fly
• 33:03
  fishing
• 33:03
  ecosystem
• 33:04
  right
• 33:04
  now.
• 33:05
  And
• 33:05
  that
• 33:05
  will
• 33:06
  definitely
• 33:06
  come
• 33:06
  out
• 33:07
  on
• 33:07
  top
• 33:07
  five
• 33:08
  to
• 33:08
  ten
• 33:08
  years
• 33:08
  from
• 33:08
  now.
• 33:10
  Yeah,
• 33:10
  an
• 33:10
  interesting
• 33:11
  thing
• 33:11
  too.
• 33:11
  And
• 33:11
  you're
• 33:12
  not
• 33:12
  exactly
• 33:12
  in
• 33:13
  this,
• 33:13
  this
• 33:13
  situation
• 33:14
  because
• 33:14
  you're,
• 33:15
  for
• 33:15
  lack
• 33:16
  of
• 33:16
  a
• 33:16
  better
• 33:16
  word,
• 33:16
  a
• 33:16
  captive
• 33:17
  podcast
• 33:17
  for
• 33:17
  a
• 33:17
  fly
• 33:18
  shop.
• 33:18
  Right.
• 33:19
  But
• 33:20
  the
• 33:20
  lack
• 33:21
  of
• 33:22
  traditional
• 33:23
  digital
• 33:24
  media
• 33:24
  cost
• 33:24
  per
• 33:25
  click
• 33:25
  analysis
• 33:25
  and
• 33:26
  podcasting
• 33:28
  makes
• 33:28
  it
• 33:28
  very,
• 33:28
  very
• 33:29
  hard
• 33:29
  when
• 33:30
  you
• 33:30
  start
• 33:30
  to
• 33:30
  talk
• 33:31
  to.
• 33:31
  Because,
• 33:31
  I
• 33:31
  mean,
• 33:31
  I
• 33:32
  talk
• 33:32
  to
• 33:33
  marketing
• 33:34
  managers
• 33:34
  and
• 33:34
  global
• 33:35
  brand
• 33:35
  managers
• 33:35
  at
• 33:36
  tons
• 33:36
  of
• 33:36
  companies
• 33:37
  all
• 33:37
  the
• 33:37
  time
• 33:38
  to.
• 33:39
  They
• 33:40
  feel
• 33:40
  in
• 33:40
  their
• 33:40
  bones
• 33:41
  what
• 33:41
  you're
• 33:41
  saying,
• 33:42
  but
• 33:43
  they
• 33:43
  can't
• 33:43
  prove
• 33:44
  it.
• 33:44
  And
• 33:44
  so
• 33:44
  they
• 33:44
  know
• 33:45
  that.
• 33:45
  Well,
• 33:45
  the
• 33:45
  way
• 33:46
  we've
• 33:46
  always
• 33:46
  done
• 33:46
  it
• 33:46
  is
• 33:47
  we
• 33:47
  know
• 33:47
  exactly
• 33:48
  if
• 33:48
  we
• 33:48
  pay
• 33:48
  this
• 33:48
  much
• 33:49
  for
• 33:49
  Facebook
• 33:49
  ads,
• 33:50
  this
• 33:50
  is
• 33:50
  the
• 33:50
  cost
• 33:50
  per
• 33:50
  click
• 33:51
  and
• 33:51
  this
• 33:51
  is
• 33:51
  the
• 33:51
  roi.
• 33:53
  It's
• 33:53
  a
• 33:53
  much
• 33:55
  different
• 33:56
  calculus
• 33:57
  because
• 33:57
  there's
• 33:57
  not
• 33:57
  a
• 33:58
  lot
• 33:58
  of
• 33:58
  standardization
• 33:59
  and
• 33:59
  there's
• 34:00
  not
• 34:00
  a
• 34:00
  cost
• 34:00
  per
• 34:01
  click
• 34:01
  analog
• 34:01
  in
• 34:01
  podcasting.
• 34:02
  And
• 34:02
  you
• 34:02
  can
• 34:02
  work
• 34:03
  on
• 34:03
  that
• 34:03
  a
• 34:03
  little
• 34:03
  bit.
• 34:04
  But
• 34:04
  the
• 34:04
  reality
• 34:05
  is
• 34:05
  in
• 34:05
  podcasting,
• 34:07
  you
• 34:07
  have
• 34:07
  to
• 34:07
  be
• 34:07
  huge,
• 34:08
  like
• 34:09
  public
• 34:09
  radio,
• 34:10
  espn
• 34:11
  to
• 34:11
  have
• 34:11
  the
• 34:11
  kind
• 34:12
  of
• 34:12
  tech
• 34:13
  to
• 34:13
  be
• 34:14
  able
• 34:14
  to
• 34:14
  track
• 34:14
  some
• 34:14
  of
• 34:14
  this
• 34:14
  stuff
• 34:15
  down.
• 34:15
  I
• 34:15
  think
• 34:15
  some
• 34:15
  of
• 34:15
  that
• 34:16
  is
• 34:17
  holding
• 34:17
  back
• 34:18
  the
• 34:19
  shift
• 34:19
  where
• 34:19
  marketing
• 34:20
  managers
• 34:20
  will
• 34:20
  feel
• 34:21
  comfortable
• 34:21
  going
• 34:21
  to
• 34:21
  their
• 34:22
  boss
• 34:22
  and
• 34:22
  saying,
• 34:22
  we're
• 34:22
  going
• 34:22
  to
• 34:22
  do
• 34:23
  this
• 34:23
  spend
• 34:24
  over
• 34:24
  here
• 34:24
  in
• 34:24
  podcasts,
• 34:25
  because
• 34:25
  here
• 34:25
  are
• 34:26
  all
• 34:26
  these
• 34:26
  soft
• 34:26
  reasons
• 34:26
  we
• 34:27
  think
• 34:27
  it's
• 34:27
  better.
• 34:28
  And
• 34:28
  then
• 34:28
  their
• 34:28
  boss
• 34:28
  says,
• 34:29
  well,
• 34:29
  gosh,
• 34:29
  can
• 34:29
  you
• 34:29
  show
• 34:30
  me
• 34:30
  the
• 34:30
  quant?
• 34:30
  It's
• 34:30
  a
• 34:30
  lot
• 34:30
  harder
• 34:31
  to
• 34:31
  do
• 34:31
  for
• 34:31
  podcasts.
• 34:33
  Yeah,
• 34:33
  it
• 34:33
  is.
• 34:33
  There's
• 34:34
  no
• 34:34
  doubt
• 34:34
  about
• 34:34
  that.
• 34:35
  But
• 34:38
  you
• 34:38
  look
• 34:38
  at
• 34:39
  who's
• 34:39
  successful
• 34:40
  right
• 34:40
  now,
• 34:42
  who's
• 34:42
  killing
• 34:43
  it
• 34:43
  in
• 34:43
  the
• 34:43
  space
• 34:43
  right
• 34:44
  now
• 34:44
  in
• 34:44
  fly
• 34:44
  fishing
• 34:46
  is
• 34:46
  the
• 34:46
  people
• 34:46
  that
• 34:46
  are
• 34:47
  connecting
• 34:47
  with
• 34:47
  the
• 34:47
  audience.
• 34:48
  And
• 34:48
  there's
• 34:48
  no
• 34:48
  way
• 34:49
  to,
• 34:50
  to
• 34:50
  step
• 34:50
  back
• 34:50
  from
• 34:51
  that.
• 34:51
  Look
• 34:52
  at,
• 34:52
  look
• 34:52
  at
• 34:52
  Sims,
• 34:53
  for
• 34:53
  example.
• 34:54
  They've.
• 34:54
  They've
• 34:54
  been
• 34:54
  going
• 34:55
  through,
• 34:55
  they've
• 34:55
  been
• 34:56
  going
• 34:56
  through
• 34:56
  the
• 34:56
  ringer
• 34:56
  up
• 34:57
  there.
• 34:57
  And
• 34:57
  I
• 34:57
  feel
• 34:57
  for
• 34:58
  the
• 34:58
  guys.
• 34:58
  I
• 34:58
  got
• 34:58
  friends
• 34:59
  who
• 34:59
  work
• 34:59
  for
• 34:59
  Sims
• 35:01
  just
• 35:02
  with
• 35:02
  all
• 35:02
  the
• 35:02
  acquisitions
• 35:03
  that
• 35:03
  I
• 35:04
  think
• 35:04
  they've
• 35:04
  been
• 35:04
  bought
• 35:04
  by
• 35:04
  two
• 35:04
  different
• 35:05
  companies
• 35:05
  in
• 35:05
  the
• 35:05
  last
• 35:06
  couple
• 35:06
  of
• 35:06
  years,
• 35:06
  if
• 35:06
  I'm
• 35:06
  remembering
• 35:07
  correctly.
• 35:09
  But
• 35:09
  how
• 35:09
  much
• 35:11
  audience
• 35:11
  engagement
• 35:12
  has
• 35:12
  Sims
• 35:13
  done
• 35:13
  in
• 35:14
  the
• 35:14
  last
• 35:15
  two,
• 35:15
  three
• 35:15
  years?
• 35:16
  Just
• 35:16
  off
• 35:16
  the
• 35:16
  top
• 35:17
  of
• 35:17
  your
• 35:17
  head?
• 35:19
  Not
• 35:19
  really
• 35:19
  a
• 35:19
  lot.
• 35:21
  No,
• 35:21
  not,
• 35:21
  not
• 35:22
  much.
• 35:22
  And
• 35:22
  then
• 35:22
  look
• 35:23
  at
• 35:24
  Squala
• 35:25
  or
• 35:25
  look
• 35:25
  at
• 35:26
  Grundin's
• 35:26
  with
• 35:27
  their
• 35:27
  new
• 35:27
  waiters.
• 35:28
  They've
• 35:29
  really
• 35:30
  invested
• 35:30
  a
• 35:30
  lot
• 35:30
  more
• 35:31
  heavily
• 35:31
  in
• 35:32
  community
• 35:32
  engagement
• 35:33
  with
• 35:33
  people
• 35:34
  with
• 35:35
  actually
• 35:36
  trying
• 35:36
  to
• 35:36
  get
• 35:36
  folks
• 35:38
  to
• 35:38
  have
• 35:38
  conversations
• 35:38
  with
• 35:39
  Them.
• 35:40
  And
• 35:40
  I
• 35:40
  mean,
• 35:41
  shoot,
• 35:41
  look
• 35:41
  even
• 35:41
  at
• 35:42
  a
• 35:42
  red
• 35:42
  fly
• 35:43
  shop
• 35:44
  out
• 35:44
  there.
• 35:44
  Oh,
• 35:45
  I
• 35:45
  forget
• 35:45
  where
• 35:45
  they're
• 35:46
  at.
• 35:46
  They're
• 35:46
  in
• 35:46
  Washington,
• 35:49
  I
• 35:49
  want
• 35:49
  to
• 35:49
  say.
• 35:49
  But
• 35:50
  you
• 35:50
  just
• 35:50
  look
• 35:50
  at
• 35:50
  how
• 35:51
  great
• 35:51
  their,
• 35:51
  their
• 35:52
  YouTube
• 35:52
  content
• 35:52
  is,
• 35:54
  and
• 35:55
  they're
• 35:55
  doing
• 35:55
  well.
• 35:56
  You
• 35:56
  look
• 35:56
  at
• 35:56
  a
• 35:57
  royal
• 35:58
  treatment,
• 35:58
  fly
• 35:59
  fishing
• 35:59
  there
• 36:00
  out
• 36:00
  of,
• 36:00
  outside
• 36:01
  of
• 36:01
  Portland.
• 36:02
  What
• 36:02
  Joel
• 36:02
  Offlette
• 36:03
  did
• 36:03
  for
• 36:04
  so
• 36:04
  many
• 36:04
  years
• 36:06
  with
• 36:06
  his
• 36:06
  newsletter,
• 36:07
  it
• 36:07
  was
• 36:08
  the
• 36:08
  gold
• 36:08
  standard
• 36:08
  for
• 36:09
  a
• 36:09
  lot
• 36:09
  of
• 36:09
  fly
• 36:09
  shop
• 36:10
  newsletters,
• 36:11
  Right?
• 36:11
  And
• 36:12
  he's
• 36:13
  run
• 36:13
  a
• 36:13
  very
• 36:13
  successful
• 36:14
  fly
• 36:14
  shop
• 36:14
  for
• 36:14
  a
• 36:15
  long
• 36:15
  time
• 36:15
  because
• 36:17
  he
• 36:17
  gets
• 36:17
  it.
• 36:17
  He's
• 36:18
  connecting
• 36:18
  with
• 36:18
  the
• 36:18
  people.
• 36:19
  No
• 36:19
  newsletter
• 36:19
  is
• 36:19
  a
• 36:19
  little
• 36:20
  bit
• 36:20
  different
• 36:20
  than
• 36:20
  a
• 36:21
  podcast
• 36:21
  or
• 36:21
  YouTube
• 36:22
  channel,
• 36:22
  but
• 36:23
  it's
• 36:23
  still
• 36:23
  not
• 36:24
  as
• 36:25
  quantifiable
• 36:26
  as
• 36:26
  Facebook
• 36:27
  ads.
• 36:28
  Right.
• 36:29
  So
• 36:29
  it
• 36:29
  really
• 36:29
  just
• 36:30
  comes
• 36:30
  down
• 36:30
  to
• 36:30
  what.
• 36:31
  What's
• 36:31
  the
• 36:31
  perception
• 36:32
  that
• 36:32
  you
• 36:33
  want
• 36:33
  of
• 36:33
  your
• 36:33
  company?
• 36:35
  And
• 36:36
  are
• 36:37
  you
• 36:37
  willing
• 36:38
  to
• 36:39
  have
• 36:40
  some
• 36:40
  things
• 36:40
  be
• 36:40
  a
• 36:40
  little
• 36:41
  intangible?
• 36:42
  And
• 36:42
  if
• 36:43
  you
• 36:43
  are,
• 36:44
  I
• 36:44
  would
• 36:44
  love
• 36:45
  to
• 36:45
  know,
• 36:45
  and
• 36:45
  I
• 36:45
  wish
• 36:45
  we
• 36:46
  could
• 36:46
  track
• 36:46
  it.
• 36:46
  I
• 36:46
  would
• 36:46
  love
• 36:47
  to
• 36:47
  know
• 36:47
  how
• 36:47
  many
• 36:48
  people
• 36:48
  have
• 36:48
  bought
• 36:49
  something
• 36:49
  from
• 36:49
  venturesfico
• 36:50
  because
• 36:51
  of
• 36:51
  the
• 36:51
  podcast.
• 36:52
  We
• 36:52
  can
• 36:52
  track
• 36:52
  a
• 36:52
  lot,
• 36:53
  but
• 36:53
  I
• 36:53
  can't
• 36:54
  track
• 36:54
  all
• 36:54
  of
• 36:54
  it,
• 36:54
  so
• 36:54
  I
• 36:55
  can't
• 36:55
  peg
• 36:55
  an
• 36:56
  exact
• 36:56
  dollar
• 36:57
  number
• 36:57
  on
• 36:57
  it.
• 36:57
  And
• 36:57
  I
• 36:58
  would
• 36:58
  love
• 36:58
  to
• 36:58
  know
• 36:58
  just
• 36:59
  to.
• 37:00
  Just
• 37:00
  for
• 37:00
  my.
• 37:01
  Even
• 37:01
  to
• 37:01
  satisfy
• 37:02
  my
• 37:02
  own
• 37:02
  curiosity,
• 37:03
  I
• 37:03
  would
• 37:03
  love
• 37:03
  to
• 37:03
  know,
• 37:04
  but
• 37:04
  I'd
• 37:04
  love
• 37:04
  to
• 37:04
  know
• 37:04
  from
• 37:04
  a
• 37:05
  business
• 37:05
  perspective
• 37:05
  too.
• 37:06
  But
• 37:08
  I
• 37:08
  do
• 37:09
  know
• 37:09
  for
• 37:10
  a
• 37:10
  fact
• 37:10
  that
• 37:11
  the
• 37:11
  connections
• 37:11
  that
• 37:11
  we've
• 37:12
  made
• 37:12
  with
• 37:12
  people
• 37:13
  are
• 37:13
  worth
• 37:13
  it
• 37:14
  because
• 37:14
  people
• 37:15
  have
• 37:15
  stuck
• 37:15
  around
• 37:16
  for
• 37:16
  a
• 37:16
  long
• 37:17
  time
• 37:17
  to
• 37:18
  buy
• 37:18
  stuff
• 37:18
  from
• 37:18
  us
• 37:19
  and
• 37:19
  to
• 37:19
  continue
• 37:19
  to
• 37:20
  come
• 37:20
  back
• 37:20
  to
• 37:20
  us.
• 37:21
  So
• 37:21
  I
• 37:21
  know
• 37:22
  even
• 37:22
  without
• 37:22
  being
• 37:23
  able
• 37:23
  to
• 37:23
  quantify
• 37:23
  what
• 37:24
  the
• 37:24
  podcast
• 37:24
  has
• 37:25
  done
• 37:25
  for
• 37:25
  us
• 37:25
  and
• 37:26
  sales
• 37:26
  dollars,
• 37:27
  I
• 37:27
  know
• 37:28
  it's
• 37:28
  worked
• 37:28
  from
• 37:28
  a
• 37:28
  community
• 37:29
  standpoint
• 37:30
  because,
• 37:31
  I
• 37:31
  mean,
• 37:32
  shoot.
• 37:34
  Earlier
• 37:34
  this
• 37:35
  year,
• 37:35
  we
• 37:35
  were
• 37:35
  out
• 37:35
  fishing.
• 37:36
  I
• 37:36
  was
• 37:36
  out
• 37:37
  with
• 37:37
  some
• 37:37
  buddies
• 37:37
  of
• 37:37
  mine
• 37:38
  and
• 37:39
  we
• 37:39
  had
• 37:39
  the
• 37:40
  boat
• 37:40
  pulled
• 37:40
  over.
• 37:41
  I
• 37:41
  was
• 37:41
  re
• 37:41
  rigging
• 37:42
  and
• 37:42
  I
• 37:42
  was
• 37:42
  in
• 37:42
  the
• 37:42
  back
• 37:42
  of
• 37:43
  the
• 37:43
  boat
• 37:43
  and
• 37:43
  this
• 37:44
  other
• 37:44
  boat
• 37:44
  comes
• 37:44
  drifting
• 37:45
  through
• 37:45
  the
• 37:45
  run.
• 37:45
  So
• 37:45
  we
• 37:46
  were
• 37:46
  letting
• 37:46
  them
• 37:47
  drift
• 37:48
  and
• 37:48
  fish
• 37:48
  the
• 37:48
  run.
• 37:49
  And
• 37:49
  again,
• 37:49
  I'm
• 37:49
  in
• 37:50
  the
• 37:50
  back
• 37:50
  of
• 37:50
  the
• 37:50
  boat
• 37:51
  wearing
• 37:52
  hat
• 37:52
  and
• 37:52
  sunglasses.
• 37:53
  I'm
• 37:53
  looking
• 37:53
  down
• 37:54
  and
• 37:54
  I'm
• 37:54
  tying
• 37:54
  a
• 37:55
  fly
• 37:55
  on,
• 37:56
  and
• 37:56
  I
• 37:56
  just
• 37:56
  hear
• 37:57
  from
• 37:57
  the
• 37:57
  other
• 37:57
  boat,
• 37:58
  hey,
• 37:58
  are
• 37:59
  you
• 37:59
  that
• 37:59
  guy
• 37:59
  from
• 38:00
  that
• 38:00
  podcast?
• 38:02
  And
• 38:02
  my
• 38:02
  buddy
• 38:02
  in
• 38:02
  the
• 38:03
  front
• 38:03
  of
• 38:03
  the
• 38:03
  boat?
• 38:03
  And
• 38:04
  I
• 38:04
  wanted
• 38:04
  to.
• 38:04
  I
• 38:04
  wanted
• 38:05
  to
• 38:05
  drown
• 38:05
  him.
• 38:06
  But
• 38:06
  he
• 38:06
  hollers
• 38:07
  back,
• 38:07
  yeah,
• 38:07
  he
• 38:07
  is.
• 38:07
  You
• 38:08
  want
• 38:08
  a
• 38:08
  selfie
• 38:08
  with
• 38:08
  him?
• 38:11
  So,
• 38:13
  you
• 38:13
  know,
• 38:13
  it
• 38:13
  was,
• 38:14
  it
• 38:14
  was
• 38:14
  nice
• 38:14
  to
• 38:14
  meet
• 38:14
  the
• 38:15
  fans,
• 38:15
  but
• 38:15
  that,
• 38:16
  that's
• 38:16
  been
• 38:16
  happening
• 38:17
  more
• 38:18
  and
• 38:18
  more,
• 38:19
  where
• 38:19
  just
• 38:20
  yesterday,
• 38:22
  Alex,
• 38:22
  my
• 38:23
  business
• 38:23
  partner,
• 38:23
  who
• 38:23
  does
• 38:24
  the
• 38:24
  other
• 38:24
  half
• 38:24
  of
• 38:25
  the
• 38:25
  media
• 38:25
  side
• 38:25
  of
• 38:26
  vfc,
• 38:27
  he
• 38:28
  was
• 38:28
  out
• 38:28
  getting
• 38:28
  ice
• 38:29
  cream
• 38:29
  in
• 38:30
  Park
• 38:31
  City,
• 38:31
  Utah,
• 38:32
  and
• 38:32
  ran
• 38:32
  into
• 38:32
  a
• 38:33
  fan
• 38:33
  of
• 38:33
  the
• 38:33
  show
• 38:34
  at
• 38:34
  the
• 38:34
  ice
• 38:34
  cream
• 38:35
  parlor.
• 38:36
  So,
• 38:37
  yeah,
• 38:37
  that's
• 38:37
  not
• 38:37
  quantifiable
• 38:38
  in
• 38:38
  sales
• 38:39
  dollars,
• 38:39
  but
• 38:39
  that's
• 38:39
  quantifiable
• 38:40
  in
• 38:41
  actual.
• 38:41
  I
• 38:41
  met
• 38:42
  this
• 38:42
  person,
• 38:42
  I
• 38:42
  talked
• 38:43
  to
• 38:43
  this
• 38:43
  person.
• 38:44
  I
• 38:44
  had
• 38:44
  a
• 38:44
  conversation
• 38:45
  with
• 38:45
  this
• 38:45
  person.
• 38:46
  And
• 38:47
  when
• 38:48
  they
• 38:48
  need
• 38:49
  flies,
• 38:49
  when
• 38:49
  they
• 38:50
  need
• 38:51
  a
• 38:52
  starter
• 38:52
  pack,
• 38:52
  when
• 38:53
  they
• 38:53
  need
• 38:53
  a
• 38:54
  new
• 38:54
  rod
• 38:54
  or
• 38:54
  reel
• 38:55
  or
• 38:55
  whatever
• 38:55
  it
• 38:55
  is,
• 38:56
  are
• 38:57
  they
• 38:57
  going
• 38:57
  to
• 38:58
  go
• 38:58
  down
• 38:58
  the
• 38:58
  street
• 38:58
  to
• 38:58
  Sportsman's
• 38:59
  Warehouse
• 38:59
  or
• 38:59
  Cabela's?
• 39:00
  Are
• 39:00
  they
• 39:00
  going
• 39:00
  to
• 39:00
  come
• 39:01
  to
• 39:01
  us?
• 39:02
  So
• 39:02
  if
• 39:03
  you're.
• 39:03
  If
• 39:03
  you're
• 39:03
  willing
• 39:03
  to
• 39:04
  take
• 39:04
  that
• 39:04
  risk
• 39:05
  of
• 39:05
  having
• 39:05
  a
• 39:05
  few
• 39:06
  intangibles,
• 39:07
  you
• 39:07
  can
• 39:07
  have
• 39:08
  those
• 39:08
  human
• 39:09
  moments
• 39:10
  that
• 39:10
  actually
• 39:10
  mean
• 39:11
  something
• 39:11
  that
• 39:12
  are
• 39:12
  going
• 39:12
  to
• 39:12
  do
• 39:12
  more
• 39:12
  for
• 39:12
  your
• 39:13
  business
• 39:13
  in
• 39:13
  the
• 39:13
  long
• 39:13
  run.
• 39:14
  Yeah.
• 39:15
  And
• 39:15
  I
• 39:15
  think
• 39:15
  the
• 39:15
  superpower,
• 39:16
  you
• 39:17
  know,
• 39:17
  and
• 39:17
  I
• 39:17
  would
• 39:17
  say
• 39:17
  podcasting,
• 39:18
  right?
• 39:18
  It's
• 39:19
  always
• 39:19
  funny
• 39:19
  because
• 39:19
  people
• 39:19
  will
• 39:19
  be
• 39:19
  like,
• 39:20
  well,
• 39:20
  you're
• 39:20
  anti
• 39:20
  this
• 39:20
  or
• 39:21
  anti
• 39:21
  that.
• 39:21
  I
• 39:21
  was
• 39:21
  like,
• 39:21
  well,
• 39:21
  no,
• 39:22
  I'm
• 39:22
  like,
• 39:22
  anti
• 39:23
  making
• 39:23
  mistakes
• 39:23
  and
• 39:23
  doing
• 39:24
  dumb
• 39:24
  stuff.
• 39:24
  I
• 39:24
  think
• 39:24
  you.
• 39:25
  You
• 39:25
  know,
• 39:25
  it's
• 39:25
  part
• 39:25
  of
• 39:25
  an
• 39:25
  integrated
• 39:26
  strategy.
• 39:26
  Right.
• 39:27
  Analog
• 39:28
  and
• 39:28
  digital.
• 39:29
  But
• 39:29
  I
• 39:29
  think
• 39:29
  the
• 39:29
  super
• 39:30
  cool
• 39:30
  thing
• 39:30
  about
• 39:31
  using
• 39:31
  digital
• 39:32
  delivery
• 39:32
  is
• 39:33
  if
• 39:33
  you
• 39:33
  can
• 39:34
  get
• 39:34
  really
• 39:34
  thoughtful
• 39:35
  and
• 39:36
  granular
• 39:36
  about
• 39:37
  your
• 39:38
  listenership
• 39:38
  or
• 39:39
  your
• 39:39
  audience
• 39:39
  or
• 39:39
  your
• 39:40
  customers,
• 39:41
  you
• 39:41
  know,
• 39:41
  you're
• 39:41
  not
• 39:41
  building
• 39:42
  the
• 39:43
  podcast
• 39:44
  for
• 39:44
  everybody.
• 39:46
  Right.
• 39:47
  And
• 39:48
  you
• 39:48
  don't
• 39:48
  need
• 39:48
  a
• 39:48
  lot
• 39:49
  of
• 39:49
  a
• 39:49
  tremendous
• 39:50
  amount
• 39:50
  of
• 39:50
  scale
• 39:51
  to
• 39:51
  get,
• 39:52
  you
• 39:52
  know,
• 39:52
  the
• 39:53
  economic
• 39:53
  and
• 39:53
  the
• 39:54
  intangible
• 39:54
  returns.
• 39:56
  No,
• 39:57
  no,
• 39:57
  you
• 39:57
  don't.
• 39:58
  And
• 39:58
  you
• 39:58
  have
• 39:58
  to
• 39:58
  remember,
• 39:59
  you
• 39:59
  can't
• 39:59
  be
• 39:59
  everything
• 39:59
  to
• 40:00
  everyone.
• 40:00
  There's
• 40:00
  a
• 40:02
  Bare
• 40:02
  Naked
• 40:02
  Ladies
• 40:03
  album.
• 40:03
  Bare
• 40:03
  Naked
• 40:03
  Ladies
• 40:04
  is
• 40:04
  my
• 40:04
  favorite
• 40:04
  band,
• 40:05
  and
• 40:06
  they've
• 40:06
  got
• 40:06
  an
• 40:06
  album
• 40:07
  called
• 40:07
  Everything
• 40:07
  to
• 40:08
  Everyone,
• 40:08
  and
• 40:08
  ironically,
• 40:09
  it's
• 40:09
  one
• 40:09
  of
• 40:09
  their
• 40:10
  least
• 40:10
  liked
• 40:10
  albums.
• 40:13
  So.
• 40:14
  But
• 40:14
  you
• 40:15
  can't
• 40:15
  be
• 40:15
  everything
• 40:15
  to
• 40:16
  everyone.
• 40:17
  And
• 40:17
  if
• 40:17
  you.
• 40:17
  If
• 40:18
  you
• 40:18
  try
• 40:18
  to,
• 40:18
  you're
• 40:18
  never
• 40:19
  going
• 40:19
  to
• 40:19
  meet
• 40:19
  it.
• 40:20
  So.
• 40:21
  Yeah,
• 40:21
  it's
• 40:21
  interesting,
• 40:21
  too,
• 40:22
  because
• 40:22
  talking
• 40:22
  about
• 40:22
  kind
• 40:23
  of
• 40:23
  the
• 40:23
  mix
• 40:24
  of,
• 40:24
  you
• 40:24
  know,
• 40:24
  analog,
• 40:26
  you
• 40:26
  know,
• 40:27
  in
• 40:27
  digital,
• 40:28
  one
• 40:28
  of
• 40:28
  the
• 40:28
  genius
• 40:29
  things,
• 40:29
  you
• 40:29
  know,
• 40:29
  talking
• 40:30
  to
• 40:30
  the
• 40:30
  guys
• 40:30
  at
• 40:30
  Grundin's,
• 40:31
  you
• 40:31
  know,
• 40:31
  they
• 40:31
  do
• 40:31
  that
• 40:32
  cappy
• 40:32
  hour,
• 40:32
  the
• 40:32
  fly
• 40:33
  shows,
• 40:34
  and
• 40:35
  they
• 40:35
  figured
• 40:35
  out
• 40:36
  that
• 40:36
  it
• 40:36
  was
• 40:36
  actually
• 40:37
  cheaper
• 40:38
  to
• 40:38
  give
• 40:39
  someone
• 40:39
  a
• 40:39
  hat
• 40:40
  in
• 40:41
  their
• 40:41
  booth
• 40:42
  to
• 40:43
  get
• 40:43
  them
• 40:43
  to
• 40:43
  become
• 40:43
  a
• 40:44
  customer
• 40:44
  than
• 40:44
  it
• 40:44
  was
• 40:44
  to
• 40:45
  target
• 40:45
  them
• 40:45
  on
• 40:45
  social
• 40:45
  media.
• 40:46
  Oh,
• 40:47
  I
• 40:47
  believe
• 40:47
  that
• 40:47
  100%.
• 40:48
  Right.
• 40:49
  The
• 40:49
  hat's,
• 40:49
  what,
• 40:49
  15
• 40:50
  bucks
• 40:50
  their
• 40:51
  cost?
• 40:51
  Yeah,
• 40:52
  yeah,
• 40:53
  15.
• 40:53
  Maybe
• 40:54
  20
• 40:54
  if
• 40:55
  you're
• 40:55
  getting
• 40:55
  a
• 40:55
  real
• 40:55
  bougie
• 40:56
  hat.
• 40:57
  Yeah.
• 40:58
  Oh,
• 40:58
  I
• 40:58
  believe
• 40:59
  that
• 40:59
  100%.
• 41:00
  And
• 41:00
  the
• 41:01
  people
• 41:01
  that
• 41:01
  are
• 41:01
  there
• 41:01
  are,
• 41:01
  like,
• 41:02
  ready
• 41:02
  to
• 41:02
  buy
• 41:02
  and
• 41:02
  try.
• 41:03
  So
• 41:03
  I
• 41:03
  think
• 41:03
  it's
• 41:03
  an
• 41:03
  interesting
• 41:04
  thing.
• 41:04
  And
• 41:04
  so,
• 41:05
  you
• 41:05
  know,
• 41:05
  it's
• 41:05
  interesting
• 41:06
  because,
• 41:06
  you
• 41:06
  know,
• 41:06
  like,
• 41:06
  I
• 41:07
  don't
• 41:07
  do
• 41:07
  questions
• 41:08
  on
• 41:08
  the
• 41:08
  scale
• 41:08
  you
• 41:09
  do,
• 41:09
  but
• 41:09
  I,
• 41:09
  you
• 41:09
  know,
• 41:09
  literally
• 41:11
  for
• 41:11
  both
• 41:11
  the
• 41:12
  podcasts,
• 41:12
  because
• 41:12
  we've
• 41:12
  got
• 41:12
  the
• 41:12
  articulate
• 41:13
  flying,
• 41:13
  you
• 41:13
  know,
• 41:14
  to
• 41:14
  the
• 41:14
  point
• 41:14
  about
• 41:14
  niching
• 41:15
  down.
• 41:15
  I've
• 41:15
  got
• 41:15
  the
• 41:15
  butcher
• 41:15
  shop,
• 41:16
  which
• 41:16
  is
• 41:16
  only
• 41:16
  predator
• 41:17
  fly
• 41:17
  stuff,
• 41:18
  but,
• 41:18
  you
• 41:18
  know,
• 41:18
  people
• 41:19
  sending
• 41:19
  questions
• 41:19
  and
• 41:19
  they
• 41:20
  get
• 41:20
  stickers,
• 41:20
  and
• 41:20
  I
• 41:20
  literally
• 41:21
  write
• 41:21
  a
• 41:21
  note
• 41:21
  to
• 41:21
  everybody
• 41:21
  and
• 41:22
  just
• 41:22
  drop
• 41:22
  it
• 41:22
  in
• 41:22
  the
• 41:22
  mail.
• 41:23
  Yeah.
• 41:24
  And,
• 41:24
  you
• 41:24
  know,
• 41:25
  it's
• 41:25
  just
• 41:25
  kind
• 41:25
  of
• 41:25
  an
• 41:25
  amazing
• 41:26
  thing.
• 41:26
  And
• 41:26
  I
• 41:26
  mean,
• 41:26
  I.
• 41:26
  I
• 41:27
  share
• 41:27
  that
• 41:27
  experience
• 41:27
  with
• 41:28
  you,
• 41:28
  you
• 41:28
  know,
• 41:28
  just
• 41:28
  kind
• 41:28
  of
• 41:29
  random
• 41:29
  stuff.
• 41:29
  Like
• 41:29
  you,
• 41:30
  you
• 41:30
  know,
• 41:30
  I
• 41:30
  can
• 41:30
  remember
• 41:30
  walking
• 41:31
  through
• 41:31
  the
• 41:31
  atlant
• 41:32
  fishing
• 41:32
  show
• 41:32
  one
• 41:32
  year
• 41:32
  and
• 41:33
  people
• 41:33
  were
• 41:33
  like,
• 41:33
  you're
• 41:33
  that
• 41:33
  guy.
• 41:34
  And
• 41:34
  I
• 41:34
  was
• 41:34
  like,
• 41:34
  who's
• 41:34
  that
• 41:34
  guy?
• 41:35
  And
• 41:35
  they're
• 41:35
  like,
• 41:35
  you're
• 41:35
  the
• 41:35
  guy
• 41:36
  that's
• 41:36
  the
• 41:36
  voice.
• 41:39
  That'S.
• 41:40
  Yeah,
• 41:40
  it's
• 41:40
  always
• 41:40
  fun
• 41:41
  to
• 41:41
  get
• 41:41
  recognized
• 41:42
  out
• 41:42
  in.
• 41:44
  In.
• 41:44
  In
• 41:44
  the
• 41:44
  real
• 41:45
  world.
• 41:45
  It's
• 41:45
  always
• 41:46
  fun.
• 41:46
  Yeah.
• 41:46
  So.
• 41:47
  Because
• 41:47
  I'm
• 41:47
  always
• 41:47
  worried
• 41:48
  that
• 41:48
  I'm
• 41:48
  just
• 41:48
  some
• 41:48
  crazy
• 41:49
  guy,
• 41:49
  you
• 41:49
  know,
• 41:49
  it's
• 41:50
  kind
• 41:50
  of
• 41:50
  like
• 41:50
  fishing
• 41:50
  affirmation.
• 41:51
  I
• 41:51
  feel
• 41:51
  like
• 41:51
  I'm
• 41:51
  some
• 41:51
  crazy
• 41:52
  guy
• 41:52
  in
• 41:52
  my
• 41:52
  home
• 41:52
  office
• 41:53
  making
• 41:53
  podcasts.
• 41:53
  And,
• 41:54
  you
• 41:54
  know,
• 41:54
  when
• 41:54
  I
• 41:55
  fish,
• 41:55
  I
• 41:55
  need
• 41:55
  very
• 41:55
  little
• 41:56
  feedback
• 41:56
  just
• 41:56
  to
• 41:56
  know
• 41:56
  that
• 41:57
  I'm
• 41:57
  not
• 41:57
  waving
• 41:57
  a
• 41:57
  very
• 41:58
  expensive
• 41:58
  graphite
• 41:59
  stick
• 41:59
  to.
• 41:59
  To
• 41:59
  no
• 42:00
  fish.
• 42:00
  Right.
• 42:01
  Exactly.
• 42:02
  Yeah.
• 42:03
  So.
• 42:03
  So,
• 42:03
  you
• 42:03
  know,
• 42:03
  as
• 42:04
  we
• 42:04
  kind
• 42:04
  of,
• 42:04
  you
• 42:05
  know,
• 42:05
  we've
• 42:05
  got
• 42:05
  kind
• 42:05
  of,
• 42:06
  we'll
• 42:06
  call
• 42:06
  IT
• 42:07
  Digital
• 42:07
  Media
• 42:08
  1.0,
• 42:09
  and,
• 42:09
  you
• 42:09
  know,
• 42:09
  within
• 42:09
  the
• 42:09
  last,
• 42:10
  I
• 42:10
  don't
• 42:10
  know,
• 42:12
  year
• 42:12
  to
• 42:13
  two
• 42:13
  years,
• 42:14
  I
• 42:14
  mean,
• 42:15
  you
• 42:16
  know,
• 42:16
  AI
• 42:16
  has
• 42:16
  been
• 42:17
  gasoline
• 42:17
  on
• 42:17
  the
• 42:17
  fire.
• 42:18
  Right.
• 42:19
  You
• 42:20
  know,
• 42:20
  you
• 42:20
  have
• 42:20
  any
• 42:20
  thoughts
• 42:21
  about
• 42:21
  where
• 42:21
  you
• 42:22
  think
• 42:22
  AI
• 42:22
  will
• 42:23
  make
• 42:23
  the
• 42:23
  kind
• 42:23
  of
• 42:24
  digital
• 42:24
  connection
• 42:25
  work
• 42:25
  that
• 42:25
  we're
• 42:26
  talking
• 42:26
  about
• 42:26
  better
• 42:26
  and
• 42:27
  kind
• 42:27
  of
• 42:28
  where
• 42:28
  it
• 42:28
  will
• 42:28
  be
• 42:28
  too
• 42:28
  seductive
• 42:29
  and,
• 42:29
  you
• 42:30
  know,
• 42:30
  create
• 42:30
  a
• 42:30
  lot
• 42:30
  of
• 42:30
  noise
• 42:31
  that's
• 42:31
  not
• 42:31
  going
• 42:32
  to
• 42:32
  move
• 42:32
  things
• 42:32
  forward
• 42:32
  very
• 42:33
  much.
• 42:35
  Well,
• 42:35
  I
• 42:35
  think
• 42:35
  if
• 42:35
  we
• 42:35
  were
• 42:36
  smart,
• 42:36
  we
• 42:36
  would
• 42:37
  take
• 42:37
  the
• 42:37
  documentary
• 42:38
  Terminator
• 42:39
  to
• 42:39
  heart
• 42:39
  and
• 42:39
  we'd
• 42:39
  unplug
• 42:40
  the
• 42:40
  stinking
• 42:41
  thing,
• 42:43
  because
• 42:44
  I
• 42:44
  just
• 42:44
  don't
• 42:44
  think
• 42:44
  it's
• 42:45
  going
• 42:45
  to
• 42:45
  end
• 42:45
  well
• 42:45
  for
• 42:45
  anybody.
• 42:47
  You
• 42:48
  know,
• 42:48
  teaching
• 42:48
  high
• 42:49
  school,
• 42:50
  the
• 42:52
  biggest
• 42:52
  concern
• 42:53
  I
• 42:53
  saw
• 42:54
  was
• 42:56
  the
• 42:57
  use
• 42:57
  of
• 42:58
  AI
• 42:59
  let
• 42:59
  kids
• 42:59
  just
• 43:00
  not
• 43:00
  think
• 43:00
  and
• 43:01
  engage
• 43:01
  with
• 43:01
  anything.
• 43:02
  And
• 43:04
  the
• 43:04
  apathy
• 43:07
  among
• 43:07
  kids
• 43:08
  was
• 43:09
  mind
• 43:09
  blowing.
• 43:10
  Just,
• 43:14
  it
• 43:14
  was
• 43:14
  very
• 43:15
  hard
• 43:15
  to
• 43:15
  get
• 43:15
  them
• 43:15
  to
• 43:15
  engage
• 43:16
  with
• 43:16
  and
• 43:16
  care
• 43:16
  about
• 43:16
  anything
• 43:17
  other
• 43:17
  than
• 43:17
  what
• 43:18
  was
• 43:18
  on
• 43:18
  their
• 43:18
  phone.
• 43:19
  And
• 43:19
  if
• 43:19
  they
• 43:19
  could
• 43:19
  get
• 43:19
  ChatGPT
• 43:20
  to
• 43:20
  write
• 43:21
  their
• 43:21
  essay,
• 43:21
  then,
• 43:23
  yeah,
• 43:23
  why
• 43:23
  wouldn't
• 43:24
  they
• 43:24
  do
• 43:24
  that?
• 43:25
  Right,
• 43:27
  so
• 43:30
  I'm
• 43:31
  not
• 43:31
  a
• 43:31
  big
• 43:31
  fan.
• 43:34
  I
• 43:34
  don't
• 43:35
  know
• 43:35
  that
• 43:35
  it's
• 43:36
  going
• 43:36
  to
• 43:38
  have
• 43:38
  a
• 43:38
  huge
• 43:39
  impact
• 43:39
  though,
• 43:40
  because
• 43:42
  at
• 43:42
  least
• 43:42
  for
• 43:43
  right
• 43:43
  now,
• 43:43
  you
• 43:43
  can
• 43:43
  still
• 43:44
  tell
• 43:44
  the
• 43:44
  AI
• 43:44
  content
• 43:45
  from
• 43:45
  the
• 43:45
  real
• 43:46
  stuff.
• 43:49
  So
• 43:49
  in
• 43:49
  terms
• 43:49
  of
• 43:49
  whether
• 43:50
  we're
• 43:50
  trying
• 43:50
  to
• 43:50
  make
• 43:50
  content
• 43:51
  completely
• 43:51
  with
• 43:52
  AI
• 43:52
  or
• 43:53
  just
• 43:53
  using
• 43:53
  it
• 43:53
  to
• 43:53
  help,
• 43:54
  there's
• 43:55
  a
• 43:55
  couple
• 43:55
  of
• 43:55
  things
• 43:55
  I'll
• 43:56
  have
• 43:56
  Chat
• 43:56
  GPT
• 43:57
  do
• 43:57
  for
• 43:57
  me.
• 43:58
  It's
• 43:58
  really
• 43:59
  useful
• 43:59
  in
• 43:59
  coming
• 43:59
  up
• 44:00
  with
• 44:00
  titles
• 44:01
  and
• 44:02
  it's
• 44:03
  really
• 44:03
  good
• 44:03
  at
• 44:04
  giving
• 44:04
  me
• 44:05
  a
• 44:05
  base
• 44:06
  for
• 44:06
  email
• 44:06
  content.
• 44:07
  So
• 44:07
  I'll
• 44:08
  say
• 44:08
  something
• 44:08
  like,
• 44:09
  you
• 44:10
  know,
• 44:10
  I
• 44:10
  need
• 44:10
  an
• 44:10
  email
• 44:11
  about
• 44:11
  this
• 44:11
  topic.
• 44:12
  And
• 44:13
  I
• 44:13
  struggle
• 44:14
  with
• 44:14
  being
• 44:14
  concise,
• 44:15
  as
• 44:15
  you
• 44:15
  can
• 44:15
  probably
• 44:15
  tell,
• 44:16
  because
• 44:16
  I'm.
• 44:17
  I
• 44:18
  could
• 44:18
  talk
• 44:18
  for
• 44:18
  hours
• 44:19
  and
• 44:19
  hours.
• 44:20
  So
• 44:21
  I'm
• 44:21
  always
• 44:22
  aware
• 44:22
  of
• 44:22
  the
• 44:22
  fact
• 44:23
  that
• 44:23
  I
• 44:23
  try
• 44:23
  to
• 44:23
  stuff
• 44:24
  too
• 44:24
  many
• 44:24
  words
• 44:25
  into
• 44:25
  something.
• 44:26
  So
• 44:26
  when
• 44:26
  I
• 44:26
  tell
• 44:27
  Chat
• 44:27
  GPT
• 44:27
  be
• 44:28
  concise
• 44:29
  and
• 44:29
  I
• 44:29
  can
• 44:29
  read
• 44:29
  it,
• 44:30
  it
• 44:30
  gives
• 44:30
  me
• 44:30
  ideas.
• 44:31
  And
• 44:31
  I
• 44:31
  never
• 44:31
  use
• 44:32
  the
• 44:33
  Chat
• 44:33
  GPT
• 44:34
  stuff
• 44:34
  in
• 44:34
  an
• 44:35
  email
• 44:35
  I
• 44:35
  send,
• 44:36
  ever.
• 44:37
  But
• 44:37
  it
• 44:37
  gives
• 44:37
  me
• 44:37
  ideas
• 44:38
  of
• 44:38
  how
• 44:38
  can
• 44:38
  I
• 44:39
  say
• 44:39
  this
• 44:39
  in
• 44:39
  as
• 44:40
  few
• 44:40
  words
• 44:40
  as
• 44:40
  possible,
• 44:40
  get
• 44:41
  the
• 44:41
  point
• 44:41
  across
• 44:42
  and
• 44:42
  not
• 44:42
  take
• 44:42
  up
• 44:43
  too
• 44:43
  much
• 44:43
  of
• 44:43
  the
• 44:43
  reader's
• 44:44
  time?
• 44:45
  Because
• 44:45
  I
• 44:45
  don't
• 44:45
  want
• 44:45
  to.
• 44:45
  I
• 44:46
  don't
• 44:46
  want
• 44:46
  to
• 44:46
  throw
• 44:46
  extra
• 44:47
  junk
• 44:48
  in
• 44:48
  there
• 44:48
  that
• 44:48
  I
• 44:48
  don't
• 44:48
  need
• 44:48
  to.
• 44:49
  Right.
• 44:51
  So
• 44:51
  from
• 44:52
  that
• 44:52
  standpoint,
• 44:52
  I
• 44:53
  think
• 44:53
  it's
• 44:53
  going
• 44:53
  to
• 44:53
  help
• 44:54
  the
• 44:54
  folks
• 44:54
  who
• 44:55
  want
• 44:55
  to
• 44:55
  use
• 44:56
  it
• 44:56
  to
• 44:56
  improve
• 44:57
  their
• 44:57
  own
• 44:58
  communication
• 44:58
  skills.
• 45:01
  But
• 45:02
  I
• 45:02
  think
• 45:02
  overall
• 45:03
  it's
• 45:03
  probably
• 45:03
  just
• 45:03
  going
• 45:03
  to
• 45:03
  make
• 45:04
  stuff
• 45:04
  worse
• 45:05
  because
• 45:06
  you're
• 45:06
  going
• 45:06
  to
• 45:06
  have
• 45:07
  real
• 45:08
  people
• 45:08
  competing
• 45:09
  with
• 45:10
  some
• 45:12
  Silicon
• 45:12
  Valley
• 45:14
  jack
• 45:14
  wagon
• 45:15
  who
• 45:15
  went
• 45:15
  fly
• 45:16
  fishing
• 45:16
  once
• 45:16
  because
• 45:17
  he
• 45:17
  went
• 45:17
  to
• 45:17
  Montana
• 45:18
  on
• 45:18
  a
• 45:18
  vegan
• 45:20
  tofu
• 45:20
  retreat
• 45:21
  or
• 45:21
  some
• 45:22
  such
• 45:22
  nonsense,
• 45:23
  and
• 45:23
  then
• 45:23
  he's
• 45:24
  going
• 45:24
  to,
• 45:24
  oh,
• 45:24
  I'm
• 45:24
  going
• 45:25
  to
• 45:25
  make
• 45:25
  some
• 45:25
  fly
• 45:25
  fishing
• 45:26
  content
• 45:26
  and
• 45:27
  whatever.
• 45:28
  You
• 45:28
  know,
• 45:28
  obviously
• 45:29
  that's
• 45:29
  an
• 45:29
  extreme
• 45:29
  example,
• 45:30
  but
• 45:31
  you
• 45:31
  might
• 45:32
  run
• 45:32
  into
• 45:32
  stuff
• 45:32
  like
• 45:32
  that
• 45:33
  where
• 45:33
  they're
• 45:33
  gonna
• 45:33
  start
• 45:34
  pushing
• 45:34
  out
• 45:34
  just
• 45:35
  junk
• 45:35
  just
• 45:35
  because
• 45:36
  they
• 45:36
  can.
• 45:37
  So.
• 45:38
  And,
• 45:38
  and
• 45:38
  then
• 45:38
  the
• 45:39
  low
• 45:39
  leverage
• 45:39
  websites
• 45:40
  too.
• 45:40
  I
• 45:40
  mean,
• 45:40
  the
• 45:41
  places
• 45:41
  that
• 45:41
  do
• 45:42
  the
• 45:42
  absolute
• 45:43
  bare
• 45:43
  minimum
• 45:43
  right
• 45:44
  now
• 45:44
  just
• 45:44
  to
• 45:44
  try
• 45:44
  and
• 45:45
  get
• 45:45
  SEO
• 45:45
  traffic
• 45:46
  and
• 45:46
  sell
• 45:46
  affiliate
• 45:47
  stuff
• 45:47
  or,
• 45:48
  you
• 45:48
  know,
• 45:48
  whatever
• 45:49
  it
• 45:49
  is,
• 45:49
  it's
• 45:49
  just
• 45:49
  gonna
• 45:49
  get
• 45:50
  worse
• 45:50
  with
• 45:50
  them
• 45:50
  trying
• 45:50
  to
• 45:51
  soak
• 45:51
  up
• 45:51
  bandwidth
• 45:54
  because
• 45:54
  they've
• 45:55
  never
• 45:55
  put
• 45:55
  a
• 45:55
  lot
• 45:55
  of
• 45:56
  effort
• 45:56
  into
• 45:56
  their
• 45:56
  content
• 45:56
  in
• 45:57
  the
• 45:57
  first
• 45:57
  place
• 45:57
  and
• 45:58
  now
• 45:58
  they
• 45:59
  have
• 45:59
  to
• 45:59
  put
• 45:59
  even
• 45:59
  less
• 46:00
  into
• 46:00
  it.
• 46:00
  So
• 46:01
  it's
• 46:01
  going
• 46:01
  to
• 46:01
  make
• 46:02
  the
• 46:02
  sport
• 46:02
  worse,
• 46:03
  it's
• 46:03
  going
• 46:03
  to
• 46:03
  make
• 46:03
  it
• 46:03
  a
• 46:03
  bit
• 46:03
  more
• 46:04
  confusing
• 46:04
  for
• 46:04
  people
• 46:05
  to
• 46:05
  figure
• 46:05
  out
• 46:05
  and
• 46:05
  then
• 46:06
  it's
• 46:06
  just
• 46:06
  going
• 46:06
  to
• 46:06
  make
• 46:07
  our
• 46:07
  jobs
• 46:07
  harder.
• 46:08
  The
• 46:08
  people
• 46:08
  who
• 46:08
  actually
• 46:09
  want
• 46:09
  to
• 46:09
  connect
• 46:09
  with
• 46:09
  other
• 46:10
  people,
• 46:10
  help
• 46:10
  other
• 46:10
  people,
• 46:11
  and
• 46:12
  walk
• 46:12
  them
• 46:12
  through
• 46:12
  this
• 46:13
  thing,
• 46:13
  it's
• 46:13
  just
• 46:13
  going
• 46:13
  to
• 46:13
  make
• 46:13
  it
• 46:14
  tougher
• 46:14
  for
• 46:14
  all
• 46:14
  of
• 46:15
  us.
• 46:16
  Do
• 46:16
  you
• 46:16
  think
• 46:16
  maybe
• 46:17
  there's
• 46:17
  a.
• 46:17
  I
• 46:17
  think
• 46:18
  there's
• 46:18
  going
• 46:18
  to
• 46:18
  be
• 46:18
  a
• 46:18
  lot
• 46:18
  more
• 46:19
  noise.
• 46:19
  Right.
• 46:20
  But
• 46:20
  do
• 46:21
  you
• 46:21
  think
• 46:21
  in
• 46:21
  some
• 46:21
  ways,
• 46:22
  like,
• 46:22
  I
• 46:22
  kind
• 46:22
  of,
• 46:23
  you
• 46:23
  know,
• 46:23
  I've
• 46:24
  started
• 46:24
  to
• 46:24
  kind
• 46:24
  of
• 46:24
  talk
• 46:25
  about
• 46:25
  this
• 46:25
  stuff,
• 46:25
  and
• 46:26
  I
• 46:26
  think
• 46:26
  I
• 46:26
  talked
• 46:26
  before
• 46:27
  recording.
• 46:27
  I'm
• 46:27
  actually

  you

• 46:41
  you
• 46:41
  get
• 46:41
  to

  Yeah.
• 46:45
  I
• 46:46

• 46:47
  once
• 46:47
  we
• 46:47
  get
• 46:47
  through
• 46:47
  it,
• 46:48
  it
• 46:48
  just
• 46:48
  ties
• 46:49
  back
• 46:49
  to
• 46:49
  what
• 46:49
  I

  earlier.
• 46:50
  Folks
• 46:51
  are

• 46:54
  So
• 46:54
  if

  you
• 46:54
  can
• 46:54
  do
• 46:55
  that

  continue

  I

  I

• 46:57
  you'll

• 46:58
  It's

  interesting.
• 47:01
  Cause
• 47:02
  I
• 47:02
  don't
• 47:02
  really
• 47:02
  use
• 47:02
  it
• 47:03

• 47:04
  you

  I

• 47:14
  that
• 47:15
  has
• 47:15
  to
• 47:15
  get
• 47:15
  done
• 47:17
  because,
• 47:18
  you
• 47:18
  know.
• 47:18
  You
• 47:18
  know,
• 47:19
  you've
• 47:19
  never
• 47:19
  used
• 47:19
  it.
• 47:20
  Sorry
• 47:20
  to
• 47:20
  interrupt,
• 47:21
  but.
• 47:21
  So
• 47:21
  you've
• 47:22
  never
• 47:22
  used
• 47:22
  it
• 47:22
  for
• 47:23
  brainstorming
• 47:24
  for
• 47:25
  a

  or
• 47:26
  brainstorming
• 47:27
  for
• 47:27
  an
• 47:27
  email
• 47:28
  before?
• 47:28
  Oh,
• 47:29
  not
• 47:29
  for
• 47:29
  a
• 47:30
  post.
• 47:30
  I
• 47:30
  would
• 47:30
  say,
• 47:30
  like,
• 47:31
  you
• 47:31
  know,
• 47:31
  every
• 47:31
  now
• 47:31
  and
• 47:32
  again,
• 47:32
  I
• 47:32
  will,
• 47:33
  you
• 47:33
  know,
• 47:33
  pop
• 47:33
  it
• 47:34
  in
• 47:34
  to
• 47:34
  get
• 47:34
  a
• 47:34
  research
• 47:34
  report
• 47:35
  on
• 47:35
  a
• 47:35
  potential
• 47:36
  guest.
• 47:36
  But
• 47:36
  it's
• 47:36
  really
• 47:36
  just
• 47:37
  to
• 47:37
  see
• 47:37
  if
• 47:37
  there's
• 47:37
  anything
• 47:38
  different.
• 47:38
  But
• 47:38
  it's
• 47:38
  not
• 47:38
  a
• 47:38
  systematic
• 47:39
  part
• 47:39
  of
• 47:39
  my
• 47:39
  process.
• 47:40
  Right.
• 47:42
  Do
• 47:42
  you
• 47:42
  think
• 47:43
  it's
• 47:43
  wrong
• 47:43
  to
• 47:43
  use
• 47:43
  it
• 47:43
  that
• 47:44
  way?
• 47:44
  No,
• 47:45
  I
• 47:45
  don't.
• 47:45
  I
• 47:46
  think
• 47:46
  that
• 47:47
  the
• 47:48
  question
• 47:48
  you
• 47:48
  have
• 47:48
  to
• 47:49
  ask
• 47:49
  yourself.
• 47:50
  Right.
• 47:50
  Is,
• 47:51
  you
• 47:51
  know,
• 47:51
  if
• 47:51
  you're
• 47:52
  trying
• 47:52
  to
• 47:52
  help
• 47:52
  people,
• 47:52
  kind
• 47:53
  of.
• 47:53
  We
• 47:53
  put
• 47:53
  in
• 47:53
  the
• 47:53
  framework
• 47:54
  of
• 47:54
  our
• 47:54
  conversation.
• 47:55
  Yeah.
• 47:56
  The
• 47:56
  question
• 47:56
  is,
• 47:57
  where
• 47:57
  would
• 47:57
  your
• 47:58
  audience
• 47:58
  feel
• 47:59
  that
• 47:59
  their
• 47:59
  trust
• 47:59
  had
• 48:00
  been
• 48:00
  betrayed
• 48:01
  if
• 48:01
  you
• 48:02
  sold
• 48:02
  them
• 48:02
  synthetic
• 48:03
  content
• 48:04
  that
• 48:04
  you
• 48:04
  didn't
• 48:04
  disclose
• 48:05
  to
• 48:05
  them?
• 48:06
  Yeah.
• 48:07
  Right.
• 48:07
  Oh,
• 48:07
  I
• 48:08
  agree
• 48:08
  with
• 48:08
  that.
• 48:09
  Right.
• 48:09
  100%.
• 48:10
  Yeah.
• 48:10
  So
• 48:10
  I
• 48:10
  don't
• 48:11
  think
• 48:11
  that.
• 48:11
  I
• 48:11
  don't
• 48:11
  think
• 48:11
  it's
• 48:12
  wrong.
• 48:12
  And
• 48:12
  I
• 48:12
  think
• 48:12
  people.
• 48:13
  I
• 48:13
  think
• 48:13
  the
• 48:13
  mis.
• 48:14
  Like,
• 48:14
  you
• 48:14
  know,
• 48:14
  I'm
• 48:15
  not
• 48:15
  saying,
• 48:15
  like,
• 48:15
  Marvin's
• 48:16
  way
• 48:16
  is
• 48:16
  the
• 48:16
  way.
• 48:17
  I
• 48:17
  just
• 48:17
  think
• 48:17
  that.
• 48:18
  Right.
• 48:18
  I'VE
• 48:19
  learned
• 48:19
  that
• 48:19
  lesson.
• 48:19
  I've
• 48:20
  been
• 48:20
  around
• 48:20
  the
• 48:20
  sun
• 48:20
  enough
• 48:20
  times
• 48:21
  to
• 48:21
  know
• 48:21
  better
• 48:21
  than
• 48:21
  that.
• 48:22
  But
• 48:23
  what
• 48:23
  I
• 48:23
  would
• 48:23
  say
• 48:23
  is
• 48:23
  I
• 48:23
  think
• 48:24
  the
• 48:25
  real
• 48:25
  mistake
• 48:25
  you
• 48:25
  make
• 48:26
  is
• 48:26
  not
• 48:26
  being
• 48:26
  deliberate.
• 48:27
  Right.
• 48:28
  Yeah.
• 48:29
  And
• 48:29
  as
• 48:29
  I
• 48:29
  lecture
• 48:30
  my
• 48:30
  sons
• 48:30
  all
• 48:31
  the
• 48:31
  time,
• 48:31
  trust
• 48:31
  is
• 48:31
  an
• 48:31
  asymmetric
• 48:32
  asset.
• 48:33
  Hard
• 48:33
  to
• 48:34
  build,
• 48:34
  easy
• 48:34
  to
• 48:34
  lose.
• 48:35
  And
• 48:36
  to
• 48:36
  your
• 48:36
  point,
• 48:37
  if
• 48:37
  you've
• 48:37
  got,
• 48:37
  basically
• 48:38
  people
• 48:38
  that
• 48:38
  are
• 48:38
  just
• 48:38
  clickbaiting
• 48:39
  affiliate
• 48:39
  links,
• 48:40
  they
• 48:40
  don't
• 48:40
  really
• 48:40
  care
• 48:40
  anyway,
• 48:41
  right?
• 48:42
  No,
• 48:42
  they
• 48:42
  don't.
• 48:42
  But
• 48:43
  I
• 48:43
  think
• 48:44
  the
• 48:44
  way
• 48:44
  I
• 48:44
  look
• 48:44
  at
• 48:44
  it
• 48:45
  is
• 48:45
  if
• 48:45
  I
• 48:46
  sent
• 48:46
  someone
• 48:46
  a
• 48:47
  newsletter
• 48:48
  that
• 48:48
  I
• 48:48
  didn't
• 48:49
  write
• 48:49
  and
• 48:49
  they
• 48:49
  thought
• 48:49
  it
• 48:50
  was
• 48:50
  me,
• 48:50
  or
• 48:50
  they
• 48:50
  read
• 48:51
  it
• 48:51
  and
• 48:51
  they
• 48:51
  knew
• 48:51
  it
• 48:51
  wasn't
• 48:52
  me,
• 48:52
  I
• 48:52
  don't
• 48:52
  think
• 48:52
  that
• 48:53
  helps
• 48:53
  the
• 48:53
  brand.
• 48:54
  No.
• 48:55
  100%,
• 48:55
  it
• 48:56
  doesn't.
• 48:56
  And
• 48:56
  that's
• 48:57
  why,
• 48:57
  like
• 48:58
  I
• 48:58
  said,
• 48:58
  I
• 48:58
  only
• 48:58
  use
• 48:59
  it
• 48:59
  for
• 48:59
  brainstorming.
• 49:00
  But
• 49:01
  it's
• 49:01
  nice.
• 49:02
  It's
• 49:02
  a
• 49:02
  good
• 49:03
  way
• 49:03
  to
• 49:03
  get
• 49:03
  around
• 49:03
  writer's
• 49:04
  block
• 49:04
  sometimes,
• 49:05
  where
• 49:05
  if
• 49:06
  you
• 49:06
  just
• 49:06
  can't
• 49:06
  figure
• 49:07
  out,
• 49:07
  how
• 49:07
  do
• 49:07
  I
• 49:07
  say
• 49:08
  this?
• 49:08
  It's
• 49:09
  nice
• 49:09
  to
• 49:09
  see
• 49:09
  it
• 49:09
  written
• 49:10
  out
• 49:10
  some
• 49:10
  other
• 49:11
  way,
• 49:11
  and
• 49:11
  then
• 49:11
  you
• 49:11
  can
• 49:11
  think,
• 49:11
  oh,
• 49:12
  okay.
• 49:12
  And
• 49:12
  it
• 49:12
  sort
• 49:13
  of
• 49:13
  jogs
• 49:13
  that
• 49:14
  loose
• 49:14
  in
• 49:14
  your
• 49:14
  head.
• 49:15
  At
• 49:15
  least
• 49:15
  for
• 49:16
  me
• 49:16
  it
• 49:16
  has.
• 49:17
  So
• 49:17
  it's
• 49:17
  been
• 49:17
  nice
• 49:18
  to
• 49:18
  have
• 49:18
  another
• 49:19
  way
• 49:19
  to.
• 49:20
  Another
• 49:21
  tool
• 49:21
  to
• 49:21
  try
• 49:22
  and
• 49:22
  use
• 49:22
  to
• 49:22
  be
• 49:23
  creative,
• 49:24
  but
• 49:24
  not
• 49:24
  to
• 49:25
  ever
• 49:25
  use
• 49:25
  it
• 49:25
  in
• 49:26
  the
• 49:26
  final
• 49:26
  product,
• 49:27
  because
• 49:27
  that's.
• 49:29
  Yeah,
• 49:29
  that's
• 49:29
  just
• 49:30
  never
• 49:30
  gonna
• 49:30
  go
• 49:30
  well.
• 49:31
  Yeah.
• 49:31
  Do
• 49:31
  you
• 49:31
  know,
• 49:31
  like,
• 49:32
  for
• 49:32
  example,
• 49:32
  in
• 49:32
  podcasting,
• 49:33
  there's
• 49:33
  so
• 49:33
  many
• 49:33
  things
• 49:33
  that
• 49:34
  you
• 49:34
  have
• 49:34
  to
• 49:34
  do
• 49:34
  for
• 49:34
  every
• 49:35
  episode,
• 49:36
  Right?
• 49:36
  Yep.
• 49:37
  And
• 49:38
  I
• 49:38
  wouldn't
• 49:38
  say
• 49:38
  they
• 49:38
  are
• 49:39
  per
• 49:39
  se
• 49:39
  creative.
• 49:41
  No.
• 49:41
  And
• 49:41
  so
• 49:41
  if
• 49:42
  you
• 49:42
  can
• 49:42
  offload
• 49:42
  that
• 49:43
  to
• 49:43
  some
• 49:44
  type
• 49:44
  of
• 49:44
  artificial
• 49:44
  intelligence,
• 49:45
  you
• 49:45
  know
• 49:45
  the
• 49:45
  drill,
• 49:46
  Right.
• 49:46
  Like,
• 49:46
  whether
• 49:46
  it's
• 49:47
  like,
• 49:47
  well,
• 49:47
  here's
• 49:47
  my
• 49:47
  main
• 49:48
  image,
• 49:48
  but
• 49:48
  I
• 49:48
  need
• 49:48
  this
• 49:48
  in
• 49:49
  four
• 49:49
  other
• 49:49
  image
• 49:49
  formats,
• 49:50
  Right?
• 49:51
  Yeah.
• 49:51
  Or
• 49:52
  here's
• 49:52
  how
• 49:53
  I
• 49:53
  build
• 49:53
  my
• 49:53
  database
• 49:54
  for
• 49:54
  all
• 49:54
  my
• 49:54
  show
• 49:54
  notes,
• 49:55
  or
• 49:56
  here's
• 49:56
  how
• 49:56
  you
• 49:57
  can
• 49:57
  clean
• 49:57
  up
• 49:57
  my
• 49:57
  transcript
• 49:58
  for
• 49:58
  me,
• 49:59
  I
• 50:00
  think
• 50:00
  those
• 50:00
  are
• 50:00
  all
• 50:00
  things
• 50:01
  because,
• 50:01
  I
• 50:01
  mean,
• 50:01
  what's
• 50:01
  the
• 50:01
  reality?
• 50:02
  Almost
• 50:02
  none
• 50:02
  of
• 50:03
  us
• 50:03
  that
• 50:03
  are
• 50:03
  doing
• 50:03
  niche
• 50:03
  podcasting
• 50:05
  are
• 50:05
  going
• 50:05
  to
• 50:05
  pay
• 50:05
  to
• 50:05
  have
• 50:06
  a
• 50:06
  human
• 50:06
  being
• 50:06
  clean
• 50:07
  up
• 50:07
  a
• 50:07
  podcast.
• 50:07
  And
• 50:08
  then
• 50:08
  the
• 50:08
  reality
• 50:08
  is
• 50:08
  they
• 50:09
  don't
• 50:09
  fly
• 50:09
  fish,
• 50:09
  so
• 50:09
  they're
• 50:10
  going
• 50:10
  to
• 50:10
  probably
• 50:10
  make
• 50:10
  it
• 50:11
  worse
• 50:11
  than
• 50:11
  it
• 50:11
  was
• 50:11
  when
• 50:11
  it
• 50:12
  came
• 50:12
  out
• 50:12
  the
• 50:12
  first
• 50:13
  time.
• 50:13
  But
• 50:14
  I
• 50:14
  think
• 50:14
  there's
• 50:14
  a
• 50:14
  ton
• 50:14
  of
• 50:14
  stuff
• 50:15
  like
• 50:15
  that
• 50:16
  that
• 50:16
  you
• 50:17
  know
• 50:17
  that
• 50:17
  from
• 50:17
  a
• 50:18
  creative
• 50:18
  perspective,
• 50:19
  the
• 50:19
  way
• 50:19
  I
• 50:19
  look
• 50:19
  at
• 50:19
  it
• 50:20
  and
• 50:20
  the
• 50:20
  way
• 50:20
  I
• 50:20
  kind
• 50:20
  of
• 50:20
  talk
• 50:20
  to
• 50:21
  other
• 50:21
  creatives
• 50:21
  like
• 50:21
  you
• 50:22
  about
• 50:22
  it
• 50:22
  is
• 50:23
  if
• 50:23
  there's
• 50:23
  all
• 50:23
  this
• 50:23
  stuff
• 50:24
  that
• 50:24
  you
• 50:24
  have
• 50:24
  to
• 50:25
  do
• 50:25
  but
• 50:25
  doesn't
• 50:25
  really
• 50:26
  kind
• 50:26
  of
• 50:26
  make
• 50:26
  you
• 50:27
  have
• 50:27
  a
• 50:27
  better
• 50:27
  product
• 50:28
  if
• 50:29
  you
• 50:29
  can
• 50:29
  offload
• 50:30
  that
• 50:30
  in
• 50:31
  a
• 50:31
  responsible
• 50:31
  way
• 50:32
  where
• 50:32
  it
• 50:32
  either
• 50:33
  creates
• 50:33
  more
• 50:33
  freedom
• 50:34
  for
• 50:34
  you
• 50:34
  to
• 50:34
  be
• 50:34
  creative.
• 50:36
  Right?
• 50:37
  Yeah.
• 50:38
  Then
• 50:38
  I
• 50:38
  think
• 50:39
  that's
• 50:39
  a
• 50:39
  great
• 50:39
  thing
• 50:39
  from
• 50:40
  a
• 50:40
  creator
• 50:40
  because.
• 50:40
  And
• 50:41
  this
• 50:41
  is
• 50:41
  true,
• 50:41
  I
• 50:41
  think,
• 50:42
  not
• 50:42
  just
• 50:42
  for,
• 50:43
  you
• 50:43
  know,
• 50:43
  I
• 50:43
  think.
• 50:44
  I
• 50:44
  think
• 50:44
  creator
• 50:45
  is
• 50:45
  almost
• 50:46
  too
• 50:46
  narrow
• 50:46
  a
• 50:46
  term,
• 50:47
  but
• 50:47
  I
• 50:48
  think
• 50:48
  for
• 50:49
  small
• 50:50
  business
• 50:50
  people,
• 50:51
  even
• 50:51
  people
• 50:51
  in
• 50:51
  kind
• 50:52
  of
• 50:52
  a
• 50:52
  traditional
• 50:52
  workplace
• 50:53
  or
• 50:53
  entrepreneurs
• 50:54
  like,
• 50:54
  you
• 50:54
  know,
• 50:54
  the
• 50:54
  reality
• 50:55
  is
• 50:55
  you
• 50:55
  can't
• 50:55
  hire
• 50:56
  all
• 50:56
  the
• 50:56
  people
• 50:56
  you
• 50:56
  need,
• 50:57
  right?
• 50:57
  No.
• 50:58
  And
• 50:58
  so
• 50:58
  that's
• 50:59
  the
• 50:59
  place
• 50:59
  where
• 50:59
  I've
• 51:00
  spent
• 51:00
  most
• 51:00
  of
• 51:00
  my
• 51:01
  time
• 51:01
  with
• 51:01
  it
• 51:01
  is.
• 51:02
  And
• 51:02
  then
• 51:02
  there
• 51:03
  are
• 51:03
  things
• 51:03
  like,
• 51:03
  for
• 51:03
  example,
• 51:04
  you
• 51:04
  know,
• 51:04
  they're
• 51:04
  great
• 51:04
  AI
• 51:05
  tools
• 51:05
  for
• 51:05
  like,
• 51:07
  you
• 51:07
  know,
• 51:08
  taking
• 51:08
  out
• 51:08
  the
• 51:08
  garage
• 51:09
  door
• 51:09
  opening
• 51:09
  in
• 51:09
  the
• 51:09
  middle
• 51:09
  of
• 51:09
  an
• 51:10
  episode,
• 51:10
  right?
• 51:11
  Yeah,
• 51:11
  yeah.
• 51:12
  And
• 51:12
  there's
• 51:12
  all
• 51:12
  kinds
• 51:12
  of
• 51:13
  stuff
• 51:13
  like
• 51:13
  that.
• 51:13
  But,
• 51:13
  yeah,
• 51:14
  I
• 51:14
  don't
• 51:14
  know.
• 51:15
  It's
• 51:15
  an
• 51:15
  interesting
• 51:15
  thing,
• 51:15
  and
• 51:16
  it's
• 51:16
  going
• 51:16
  to
• 51:16
  be
• 51:16
  interesting
• 51:16
  to
• 51:17
  kind
• 51:17
  of
• 51:17
  see,
• 51:18
  you
• 51:18
  know,
• 51:18
  kind
• 51:19
  of
• 51:19
  where
• 51:19
  it
• 51:19
  all
• 51:19
  settles
• 51:19
  out.
• 51:20
  But,
• 51:20
  yeah,
• 51:20
  I
• 51:20
  don't.
• 51:20
  I
• 51:20
  mean,
• 51:20
  I
• 51:21
  don't
• 51:21
  think
• 51:21
  it's
• 51:21
  bad
• 51:21
  to
• 51:21
  use
• 51:22
  it
• 51:22
  for
• 51:22
  brainstorming.
• 51:24
  You
• 51:24
  know,
• 51:24
  it's
• 51:24
  like,
• 51:24
  I
• 51:24
  talked
• 51:24
  to
• 51:25
  you.
• 51:25
  I'm
• 51:25
  lucky.
• 51:25
  I
• 51:25
  know
• 51:25
  you.
• 51:26
  I
• 51:26
  know
• 51:26
  you
• 51:26
  pretty
• 51:26
  well.
• 51:27
  So
• 51:27
  there's,
• 51:27
  you
• 51:27
  know,
• 51:27
  there's
• 51:28
  not
• 51:28
  a
• 51:28
  lot
• 51:28
  of,
• 51:28
  you
• 51:29
  know,
• 51:29
  incremental
• 51:29
  value
• 51:30
  for
• 51:30
  me
• 51:30
  trolling
• 51:30
  around
• 51:31
  and
• 51:31
  chatgpt
• 51:32
  to
• 51:32
  learn
• 51:32
  more
• 51:33
  because
• 51:33
  I've
• 51:33
  probably
• 51:33
  got
• 51:34
  a
• 51:34
  pretty
• 51:34
  good
• 51:34
  basis
• 51:35
  for
• 51:35
  the
• 51:35
  interview.
• 51:35
  But
• 51:36
  for
• 51:36
  other
• 51:36
  people,
• 51:38
  you
• 51:38
  know,
• 51:38
  where
• 51:38
  someone's
• 51:39
  like,
• 51:39
  you
• 51:39
  should
• 51:39
  talk
• 51:39
  to
• 51:39
  this
• 51:40
  person,
• 51:40
  and
• 51:40
  I
• 51:40
  don't
• 51:40
  know
• 51:40
  a
• 51:41
  lot
• 51:41
  about
• 51:41
  them,
• 51:41
  it's
• 51:41
  great.
• 51:41
  And
• 51:42
  you
• 51:42
  can
• 51:42
  just
• 51:42
  say,
• 51:42
  hey,
• 51:42
  write
• 51:42
  me
• 51:43
  a
• 51:43
  research
• 51:43
  report
• 51:43
  just
• 51:43
  to
• 51:43
  give
• 51:43
  me
• 51:44
  background,
• 51:44
  and
• 51:44
  you
• 51:44
  can
• 51:44
  kind
• 51:44
  of
• 51:45
  read
• 51:45
  it
• 51:45
  and
• 51:45
  then
• 51:45
  you
• 51:45
  can
• 51:45
  kind
• 51:45
  of
• 51:45
  pick
• 51:46
  questions
• 51:46
  out.
• 51:46
  I
• 51:46
  think
• 51:46
  that's
• 51:47
  perfectly
• 51:47
  fine.
• 51:48
  Yeah,
• 51:48
  I
• 51:49
  agree.
• 51:49
  And
• 51:49
  I
• 51:49
  wouldn't
• 51:50
  even
• 51:50
  say,
• 51:50
  you
• 51:50
  know,
• 51:52
  as
• 51:53
  long
• 51:53
  as
• 51:53
  it
• 51:53
  doesn't
• 51:53
  bother
• 51:54
  your
• 51:54
  audience
• 51:54
  and
• 51:55
  the
• 51:55
  relationship
• 51:55
  that
• 51:55
  you
• 51:56
  have
• 51:56
  with
• 51:56
  them,
• 51:56
  I
• 51:57
  just
• 51:57
  think
• 51:57
  the
• 51:57
  line's
• 51:57
  going
• 51:57
  to
• 51:57
  be
• 51:58
  different
• 51:58
  for
• 51:58
  everybody.
• 51:59
  Right?
• 51:59
  Yeah,
• 52:00
  it
• 52:00
  is.
• 52:00
  And
• 52:00
  so,
• 52:00
  you
• 52:01
  know,
• 52:01
  I
• 52:01
  don't
• 52:01
  know,
• 52:01
  I
• 52:01
  could
• 52:02
  see
• 52:02
  probably
• 52:02
  not
• 52:02
  in
• 52:02
  fly
• 52:03
  fishing,
• 52:03
  but
• 52:03
  I
• 52:03
  don't
• 52:04
  know,
• 52:04
  you
• 52:04
  probably.
• 52:04
  Do
• 52:04
  you
• 52:04
  remember
• 52:04
  Max
• 52:05
  Headroom,
• 52:06
  the
• 52:06
  TV
• 52:06
  show?
• 52:08
  No,
• 52:08
  I
• 52:08
  don't.
• 52:08
  It
• 52:09
  was
• 52:09
  an
• 52:09
  old,
• 52:10
  like,
• 52:11
  like
• 52:11
  AI
• 52:12
  kind
• 52:12
  of
• 52:12
  chatbot
• 52:13
  that
• 52:13
  lived
• 52:13
  in
• 52:13
  a
• 52:14
  TV.
• 52:14
  Right.
• 52:14
  I
• 52:15
  think
• 52:15
  that
• 52:15
  TV
• 52:15
  show
• 52:15
  was
• 52:15
  in
• 52:16
  the
• 52:16
  80s
• 52:16
  probably,
• 52:17
  you
• 52:17
  know,
• 52:17
  I
• 52:17
  could
• 52:17
  see
• 52:18
  for
• 52:18
  something,
• 52:18
  people
• 52:19
  actually
• 52:19
  finding
• 52:19
  that
• 52:20
  interesting.
• 52:20
  Right?
• 52:21
  Or,
• 52:21
  yeah,
• 52:22
  but,
• 52:23
  yeah,
• 52:23
  it's.
• 52:23
  I
• 52:23
  don't
• 52:24
  know.
• 52:24
  It's
• 52:24
  a.
• 52:24
  It's
• 52:25
  an
• 52:25
  interesting
• 52:25
  thing.
• 52:25
  But
• 52:27
  it's
• 52:27
  changing
• 52:27
  incredibly
• 52:28
  quickly
• 52:29
  that
• 52:29
  I.
• 52:29
  Will
• 52:29
  say,
• 52:30
  yes,
• 52:30
  it
• 52:30
  is.
• 52:32
  So.
• 52:33
  So,
• 52:33
  you
• 52:33
  know,
• 52:34
  before
• 52:34
  I
• 52:34
  let
• 52:34
  you
• 52:35
  go
• 52:35
  this
• 52:35
  evening
• 52:35
  and
• 52:36
  play
• 52:37
  with
• 52:37
  the
• 52:37
  two
• 52:37
  dogs
• 52:37
  and
• 52:38
  check
• 52:38
  in
• 52:38
  with
• 52:38
  the
• 52:38
  family,
• 52:38
  is
• 52:39
  there
• 52:39
  anything
• 52:39
  else
• 52:39
  you're
• 52:40
  kind
• 52:40
  of
• 52:40
  working
• 52:40
  on
• 52:40
  either
• 52:41
  kind
• 52:41
  of
• 52:41
  personally
• 52:42
  or
• 52:42
  at
• 52:42
  Flylords
• 52:43
  or,
• 52:44
  you
• 52:44
  know,
• 52:44
  with
• 52:44
  the
• 52:44
  podcast
• 52:45
  and
• 52:45
  with
• 52:45
  Venture
• 52:45
  Flyco
• 52:46
  that
• 52:46
  you
• 52:46
  want
• 52:46
  to
• 52:46
  share
• 52:46
  with
• 52:46
  folks?
• 52:49
  I
• 52:49
  think
• 52:49
  the
• 52:49
  big
• 52:49
  thing
• 52:50
  right
• 52:50
  now
• 52:50
  is
• 52:50
  we've
• 52:51
  got
• 52:51
  our,
• 52:51
  our
• 52:51
  nymphing
• 52:52
  masterclass
• 52:53
  coming
• 52:53
  out
• 52:53
  of
• 52:53
  Ventures.
• 52:55
  Fingers
• 52:56
  crossed.
• 52:56
  Hopefully
• 52:57
  the
• 52:57
  end
• 52:57
  of
• 52:57
  the
• 52:57
  month,
• 52:57
  the
• 52:58
  end
• 52:58
  of
• 52:58
  August.
• 52:58
  We'll
• 52:59
  see.
• 53:00
  I'm
• 53:00
  not
• 53:00
  sure
• 53:02
  when
• 53:02
  exactly
• 53:03
  we're
• 53:03
  going
• 53:03
  to
• 53:03
  start
• 53:03
  dropping
• 53:04
  them.
• 53:05
  Productions
• 53:05
  just
• 53:06
  always
• 53:06
  take,
• 53:06
  take
• 53:07
  so
• 53:07
  much
• 53:07
  longer
• 53:07
  than
• 53:08
  you
• 53:08
  would
• 53:08
  think,
• 53:10
  but
• 53:10
  that
• 53:11
  I'm
• 53:11
  really
• 53:11
  excited
• 53:12
  for
• 53:12
  that.
• 53:12
  And
• 53:12
  then
• 53:13
  we've
• 53:13
  got
• 53:13
  a
• 53:13
  slate
• 53:14
  of
• 53:14
  really
• 53:14
  interesting
• 53:17
  call
• 53:17
  them
• 53:18
  how
• 53:18
  we
• 53:18
  Fish
• 53:18
  videos,
• 53:19
  where
• 53:20
  it's
• 53:20
  a
• 53:20
  little
• 53:20
  bit
• 53:20
  of
• 53:20
  adventure,
• 53:21
  a
• 53:21
  little
• 53:21
  bit
• 53:21
  of
• 53:21
  storytelling,
• 53:22
  but
• 53:23
  we
• 53:24
  take
• 53:24
  you
• 53:24
  along
• 53:24
  for
• 53:25
  the
• 53:25
  ride
• 53:25
  with
• 53:25
  us.
• 53:25
  So
• 53:25
  we
• 53:25
  show
• 53:26
  you
• 53:26
  how
• 53:26
  we
• 53:26
  fly
• 53:27
  fish
• 53:28
  certain
• 53:28
  situations,
• 53:30
  whether
• 53:30
  it's
• 53:30
  lakes
• 53:31
  or
• 53:31
  streams
• 53:31
  or
• 53:31
  pocket
• 53:32
  water
• 53:32
  or
• 53:32
  whatever,
• 53:32
  we
• 53:33
  just
• 53:33
  walk
• 53:33
  you
• 53:33
  through,
• 53:34
  here's
• 53:34
  this
• 53:34
  rig,
• 53:34
  here's
• 53:35
  why
• 53:35
  I'm
• 53:35
  using
• 53:35
  it,
• 53:36
  and
• 53:36
  then
• 53:37
  we
• 53:37
  show
• 53:37
  you
• 53:37
  whether
• 53:38
  it
• 53:38
  works
• 53:38
  or
• 53:38
  not.
• 53:39
  So
• 53:39
  there's
• 53:39
  footage
• 53:39
  of
• 53:40
  me
• 53:40
  getting
• 53:40
  skunked
• 53:40
  all
• 53:41
  over
• 53:41
  YouTube,
• 53:43
  but
• 53:43
  we've
• 53:43
  got
• 53:44
  a,
• 53:44
  we've
• 53:44
  got
• 53:45
  all
• 53:46
  four
• 53:47
  that
• 53:47
  are
• 53:47
  filmed
• 53:47
  and
• 53:48
  two
• 53:48
  more
• 53:48
  we're
• 53:48
  going
• 53:48
  to
• 53:48
  try
• 53:48
  to
• 53:49
  do
• 53:49
  for
• 53:49
  next
• 53:49
  year
• 53:50
  that
• 53:50
  I'm
• 53:50
  really
• 53:51
  excited
• 53:51
  about
• 53:51
  releasing.
• 53:53
  We
• 53:53
  just
• 53:53
  wrapped
• 53:54
  up
• 53:54
  the
• 53:54
  fourth
• 53:54
  one
• 53:56
  last
• 53:56
  week.
• 53:58
  Had
• 53:58
  a
• 53:58
  ton
• 53:59
  of
• 53:59
  fun.
• 53:59
  I
• 54:00
  got
• 54:00
  eaten
• 54:00
  alive
• 54:00
  by
• 54:01
  mosquitoes
• 54:01
  for
• 54:01
  it.
• 54:01
  But
• 54:02
  there's
• 54:02
  going
• 54:02
  to
• 54:03
  be
• 54:03
  some
• 54:03
  really
• 54:03
  fun
• 54:03
  content
• 54:04
  coming
• 54:04
  out
• 54:04
  on
• 54:05
  YouTube
• 54:07
  for,
• 54:07
  oh,
• 54:08
  first
• 54:08
  half
• 54:08
  of
• 54:09
  next
• 54:09
  year
• 54:09
  once
• 54:10
  we
• 54:10
  get
• 54:10
  that
• 54:10
  stuff
• 54:11
  all
• 54:11
  squared
• 54:11
  away.
• 54:11
  So
• 54:12
  I'm
• 54:12
  really
• 54:12
  excited
• 54:12
  about
• 54:13
  what's
• 54:13
  going
• 54:13
  on
• 54:13
  there.
• 54:13
  And
• 54:14
  then
• 54:15
  I
• 54:15
  never
• 54:15
  know
• 54:15
  what's
• 54:16
  going
• 54:16
  on
• 54:17
  with
• 54:17
  Flylords
• 54:18
  because
• 54:18
  I'm
• 54:19
  doing
• 54:19
  the
• 54:19
  news
• 54:19
  over
• 54:20
  there
• 54:20
  and
• 54:20
  then
• 54:20
  I'm
• 54:22
  editing
• 54:22
  gear.
• 54:22
  So
• 54:22
  it's
• 54:23
  always
• 54:23
  new
• 54:23
  and
• 54:23
  different,
• 54:25
  whatever
• 54:26
  I
• 54:26
  get
• 54:26
  to
• 54:26
  talk
• 54:26
  about
• 54:26
  or
• 54:27
  write
• 54:27
  about
• 54:28
  over
• 54:28
  there,
• 54:28
  but
• 54:28
  there's
• 54:29
  always
• 54:29
  fun
• 54:29
  stuff
• 54:30
  going
• 54:31
  on
• 54:31
  over
• 54:31
  there.
• 54:32
  So
• 54:32
  it's.
• 54:34
  I
• 54:34
  know
• 54:34
  I've
• 54:34
  got
• 54:35
  a
• 54:35
  new
• 54:35
  Winston
• 54:35
  fly
• 54:36
  rod
• 54:36
  sitting
• 54:36
  here
• 54:37
  that's
• 54:37
  going
• 54:37
  to
• 54:37
  get
• 54:37
  reviewed
• 54:38
  soon,
• 54:38
  so
• 54:38
  you
• 54:38
  can
• 54:39
  be
• 54:39
  looking
• 54:39
  for
• 54:39
  that.
• 54:41
  But
• 54:41
  yeah,
• 54:41
  other
• 54:41
  than
• 54:42
  that,
• 54:42
  it's
• 54:44
  things.
• 54:45
  Things
• 54:45
  are
• 54:45
  just
• 54:45
  kind
• 54:45
  of
• 54:46
  plugging
• 54:46
  along,
• 54:46
  you
• 54:46
  know,
• 54:47
  don't,
• 54:47
  don't
• 54:47
  miss
• 54:47
  the
• 54:47
  show,
• 54:48
  don't
• 54:48
  miss
• 54:48
  the
• 54:48
  podcast
• 54:49
  and
• 54:49
  don't
• 54:49
  miss
• 54:49
  what
• 54:49
  we're
• 54:49
  doing,
• 54:49
  adventures.
• 54:50
  And
• 54:51
  will
• 54:51
  your
• 54:51
  adoring
• 54:51
  fans
• 54:52
  be
• 54:52
  able
• 54:52
  to
• 54:52
  bump
• 54:52
  into
• 54:53
  you
• 54:53
  any
• 54:54
  of
• 54:54
  the
• 54:54
  fly
• 54:54
  fishing
• 54:54
  shows.
• 54:55
  Like,
• 54:55
  you
• 54:55
  know,
• 54:55
  I
• 54:56
  think
• 54:56
  you
• 54:56
  and
• 54:56
  I
• 54:56
  always
• 54:56
  go
• 54:56
  back
• 54:57
  and
• 54:57
  forth.
• 54:57
  Are
• 54:57
  you
• 54:57
  going
• 54:57
  to
• 54:57
  go
• 54:57
  to
• 54:58
  Denver
• 54:58
  or
• 54:58
  not
• 54:58
  or.
• 54:59
  Oh,
• 55:00
  I
• 55:00
  want
• 55:00
  to
• 55:00
  go.
• 55:01
  We'll
• 55:01
  see
• 55:01
  if
• 55:01
  we
• 55:01
  go
• 55:01
  this
• 55:02
  year.
• 55:04
  It's.
• 55:04
  It's
• 55:05
  always
• 55:05
  hard
• 55:05
  for
• 55:05
  me
• 55:05
  to
• 55:05
  want.
• 55:06
  We're.
• 55:06
  I'm
• 55:06
  on
• 55:07
  the
• 55:07
  road
• 55:07
  so
• 55:07
  much
• 55:08
  as
• 55:08
  it
• 55:09
  is.
• 55:09
  It's
• 55:09
  kind
• 55:09
  of
• 55:09
  nice
• 55:10
  to
• 55:10
  get
• 55:10
  a
• 55:10
  break
• 55:12
  in
• 55:12
  the
• 55:12
  winter
• 55:13
  sometimes.
• 55:13
  So
• 55:14
  sometimes
• 55:14
  it's
• 55:14
  hard
• 55:14
  to
• 55:15
  pry
• 55:15
  me
• 55:15
  out
• 55:15
  of
• 55:15
  Wyoming,
• 55:17
  even
• 55:18
  in
• 55:18
  the
• 55:18
  middle
• 55:18
  of
• 55:18
  winter.
• 55:19
  It's
• 55:19
  hard
• 55:19
  to
• 55:19
  pry
• 55:19
  me
• 55:19
  away
• 55:20
  sometimes.
• 55:22
  Well,
• 55:22
  I
• 55:22
  mean,
• 55:22
  you
• 55:23
  know,
• 55:23
  you
• 55:23
  know,
• 55:24
  flying
• 55:24
  into
• 55:24
  West
• 55:25
  Yellowstone
• 55:25
  in
• 55:25
  the
• 55:25
  wintertime
• 55:26
  is
• 55:26
  not
• 55:26
  for
• 55:26
  the
• 55:26
  faint
• 55:27
  of
• 55:27
  heart.
• 55:27
  And
• 55:28
  you
• 55:28
  can
• 55:28
  find
• 55:28
  yourself
• 55:29
  sleeping
• 55:29
  in
• 55:29
  your
• 55:29
  truck
• 55:30
  if
• 55:30
  you
• 55:30
  don't
• 55:30
  watch
• 55:30
  out.
• 55:31
  Right?
• 55:32
  Yeah,
• 55:32
  well,
• 55:32
  and
• 55:33
  shoot,
• 55:33
  you
• 55:33
  can't
• 55:33
  even.
• 55:34
  Most
• 55:35
  the
• 55:35
  flights
• 55:35
  into
• 55:36
  the
• 55:36
  closest
• 55:36
  airport
• 55:37
  to
• 55:37
  me
• 55:37
  get
• 55:37
  diverted
• 55:38
  in
• 55:38
  the
• 55:38
  winter
• 55:38
  anyways.
• 55:39
  They
• 55:39
  get
• 55:39
  diverted
• 55:39
  up
• 55:40
  to
• 55:40
  Montana
• 55:42
  because
• 55:43
  half
• 55:44
  the
• 55:44
  time
• 55:44
  it's
• 55:44
  too
• 55:44
  windy
• 55:45
  or
