- 0:21Speaker 1: Our thanks to Mike Golick Senior for joining us in
- 0:23Speaker 1: hour number one.
- 0:25Speaker 2: Mikey has a list that he's unsure of.
- 0:26Speaker 1: We're gonna update the polls from last week because we
- 0:29Speaker 1: forgot to do that. It's a odd of time to
- 0:30Speaker 1: do it on a Monday, but we'll we'll do it nonetheless.
- 0:33Speaker 1: But first, Taylor has a five pack of topics. I
- 0:37Speaker 1: asked him to make it six. He couldn't find a
- 0:39Speaker 1: six to one, so we're stuck on five. Here, we
- 0:42Speaker 1: have a five pack of topics. I'm just gonna say
- 0:45Speaker 1: the topics, Taylor, and you give us your thoughts, and
- 0:47Speaker 1: if Mikey a have thoughts based on your thought, we
- 0:50Speaker 1: will go from there.
- 0:51Speaker 2: Is that fair?
- 0:51Speaker 3: That's fair?
- 0:52Speaker 2: All right? A five pack?
- 0:53Speaker 4: Here we go.
- 0:54Speaker 2: An update that no one wants on the University of
- 0:57Speaker 2: Tennessee quarterback situation. Go.
- 1:00Speaker 3: Well, you guys know, I am college football, so I
- 1:02Speaker 3: keep my ears to the street in everything that's happening
- 1:04Speaker 3: in college football. My ear to the ground is in Knoxville, Tennessee,
- 1:09Speaker 3: where true freshman Faison Brandon has won the Tennessee starting
- 1:14Speaker 3: quarterback job. The rare athlete whose name would sound better
- 1:18Speaker 3: if it was reversed Brandon Faison Brandon. Fason sounds like
- 1:22Speaker 3: a great quarterback, Faison Brandon. It's like, what's that Brandon doing.
- 1:26Speaker 2: Second, You're like, what is that?
- 1:28Speaker 3: I've never heard of somebody with the last name Brandon.
- 1:32Speaker 1: Now I'm trying, Jesus, I'm gonna spend all day thinking
- 1:34Speaker 1: about this. Now the last name. There has to be
- 1:36Speaker 1: someone with a last name Brandon. I mean, there has to.
- 1:39Speaker 5: Be Brandon Fazon beats you down the sideline on a
- 1:43Speaker 5: on a wheel without question, Like, that's like, you tell
- 1:46Speaker 5: me we have Brandon Fazon running a go route on
- 1:48Speaker 5: the outside.
- 1:49Speaker 4: I'm like, well, we just scored and then that happened.
- 1:51Speaker 3: And then Faison Brandon. It just sounds like his name
- 1:53Speaker 3: is on backwards.
- 1:54Speaker 5: No, somebody right, like they forgot the comma to tell
- 1:59Speaker 5: you that it was last name first?
- 2:01Speaker 2: Yes, put it on the poll.
- 2:03Speaker 1: Does Faison Brandon look like he has his name spelled backwards?
- 2:08Speaker 2: How'd you phrase that?
- 2:10Speaker 3: Does Faison Brandon's name sound backwards?
- 2:12Speaker 1: Because I am sitting here just looking up celebrities with
- 2:15Speaker 1: the last name Brandon.
- 2:16Speaker 2: That's what I'm doing right now.
- 2:21Speaker 4: And we got a Brandan Fraser too.
- 2:22Speaker 2: Hold on, Yes, we do. Hold on.
- 2:24Speaker 1: I just got to look it up for a second
- 2:26Speaker 1: last name, Brandon. There has to be someone, right.
- 2:28Speaker 3: Michael Brandon. It says he was in demp Maybe he
- 2:32Speaker 3: was in Peace. Never heard of him.
- 2:34Speaker 5: Maybe maybe his parents were just really into the Mummy
- 2:37Speaker 5: and they wanted to get as close as possible.
- 2:39Speaker 1: Now, I went to camp with a guy named Peter Brandon.
- 2:41Speaker 1: I mean a great tennis player, not good, a great
- 2:44Speaker 1: tennis player. He was top five on the mainland and
- 2:47Speaker 1: then his game really grew. We went to the island.
- 2:50Speaker 1: That's the older camp. He was number one two consecutive
- 2:53Speaker 1: years on the island.
- 2:54Speaker 2: I mean, how about that.
- 2:56Speaker 4: Wow?
- 2:57Speaker 3: Did he go to a school Peace?
- 3:01Speaker 2: I think he did.
- 3:01Speaker 3: Yes, Yes, trying to see Pomona Pitzer College.
- 3:05Speaker 2: But where is it?
- 3:06Speaker 3: Let me see? I mean, I'm finding a match where
- 3:09Speaker 3: he lost. Oh no, whoa? He beat somebody at the
- 3:13Speaker 3: University of Rochester in nineteen ninety three, nineteen ninety four.
- 3:16Speaker 2: Really, I thought he'd be better.
- 3:17Speaker 3: I mean, you would have thought he'd be somewhere.
- 3:23Speaker 2: I thought he'd be camp. I thought he'd be playing
- 3:25Speaker 2: in the Open this week.
- 3:27Speaker 3: So it looks like Pomona Pitzer College is in clare Mount, California.
- 3:33Speaker 2: He didn't go there. Ron Peter Brandon.
- 3:36Speaker 3: You've got multiple Peter Brandon's playing tennis. No, no, early nineties, well.
- 3:41Speaker 4: Yes, beaten people from Rochester.
- 3:43Speaker 1: I don't know if this Pete Brandon went on to
- 3:44Speaker 1: play tennis in college. I have no idea. I just
- 3:47Speaker 1: know he dominated camp Win hockey, that's all I know.
- 3:49Speaker 3: What was the timeframe when was he dominating that camp?
- 3:52Speaker 2: This was back in like mid eighties. I want to say,
- 3:54Speaker 2: I mean, this has to be Peter Brandon. Maybe it is.
- 3:56Speaker 2: I don't know. We lost touch.
- 3:58Speaker 4: I mean, I hope there's another one and they do
- 4:01Speaker 4: the Spider Man.
- 4:03Speaker 3: Yeah, it's just too big of a coincidence for Peter
- 4:06Speaker 3: Brandon to not be the same Peter Brandon.
- 4:08Speaker 2: You're right.
- 4:09Speaker 1: It probably is Topic number two Taylor's five Pack of Topics.
- 4:13Speaker 2: John Carlos Stanton.
- 4:14Speaker 3: Go, yeah, so we got this, we got this injury up.
- 4:18Speaker 1: There's the normal sound that comes after you say John
- 4:20Speaker 1: Carlos Stanton's name if you're a Yankee fan.
- 4:22Speaker 3: Yes, yeah, we got this injury update this weekend. Yeah,
- 4:26Speaker 3: and Stu, I you know, I pride myself in not
- 4:29Speaker 3: getting fooled by the Internet. Of course, I almost assuredly
- 4:32Speaker 3: thought I was being fooled by the Internet. I was like, oh,
- 4:34Speaker 3: this is a parody account. This, this is some account
- 4:38Speaker 3: that's trying to pull one over on me, right because
- 4:40Speaker 3: I got this update from a Yankee reporter. John Carlos
- 4:43Speaker 3: Stanton strained his other calf. He fell while running. He
- 4:48Speaker 3: is now out for the rest of the season.
- 4:50Speaker 2: Was it Sweeney Murdy who gave you that report?
- 4:55Speaker 4: Sweety Murdy still doing things?
- 4:56Speaker 2: I have no idea.
- 4:57Speaker 3: It was Brian Hawk.
- 4:58Speaker 2: Wow, okay man, what are we supposed to do with this?
- 5:06Speaker 2: John Carlos did.
- 5:07Speaker 3: And it's just the most it's the most predictable way
- 5:09Speaker 3: for John Carlos stand in season's end.
- 5:11Speaker 2: Okay, season's over again. Give me the injury, the nature
- 5:17Speaker 2: of the injury. What was it?
- 5:18Speaker 3: He strained his other calf, he fell while running.
- 5:24Speaker 2: It's what he does.
- 5:26Speaker 5: If you're that the most John Carlo way to get hurt,
- 5:30Speaker 5: the while rehabbing. You got hurt, You were hurt, you rehabbed,
- 5:35Speaker 5: you got hurt again.
- 5:37Speaker 2: Did the rest of the Yankee team take a nknee prayer?
- 5:41Speaker 3: If you're the Yankees, you have to protect John Carlos
- 5:44Speaker 3: standing there and say say he was running, he felt
- 5:47Speaker 3: something when he was running. You can't say he fell
- 5:51Speaker 3: while he was running.
- 5:54Speaker 2: Well, I mean you can.
- 5:57Speaker 5: While rehabbing he hurt himself. Oh okay, maybe he was
- 6:00Speaker 5: trying to push too hard to get back. I go, hey, hey,
- 6:03Speaker 5: I appreciate you trying really hard to get back.
- 6:05Speaker 4: No, you fell while running.
- 6:07Speaker 1: The Yankees are frustrated. You want the Yankees to protect
- 6:10Speaker 1: John Carlos Stanton to the fan base.
- 6:12Speaker 2: Is that what you're saying.
- 6:13Speaker 3: I think they should have protected him.
- 6:16Speaker 2: I mean, does he deserve it?
- 6:19Speaker 3: Now, that's a different cover.
- 6:20Speaker 4: For that one October, For that one October, he deserves.
- 6:23Speaker 2: No, I'm just saying.
- 6:24Speaker 1: The sound that Mikey made when he found out when
- 6:26Speaker 1: we just at the mere mention of John Carlos Stanton
- 6:29Speaker 1: is the same sound that Cashman probably makes.
- 6:31Speaker 3: It was also the same sound that I made when Mikey,
- 6:34Speaker 3: a around the trade deadline, was like, well, well why
- 6:37Speaker 3: did we get these guys? When John Carlos Stanton comes back,
- 6:40Speaker 3: And if you remember me and Steve Gott's kind of
- 6:42Speaker 3: pushed back saying stop saying when John Carlos Stanton comes back,
- 6:45Speaker 3: because we can't keep counting on somebody like John Carlo Stanton.
- 6:48Speaker 3: If John Carlos Stanton was a dog, we would be
- 6:50Speaker 3: putting him down right now.
- 6:52Speaker 1: Put it on the pole if John Carlo good name
- 6:55Speaker 1: John Carlo for a dog or Stanton? Really, but put
- 6:59Speaker 1: it on the pole to well. First off, better name
- 7:01Speaker 1: for a dog Jean Carlow or Stanton. And secondly, if
- 7:06Speaker 1: John Carlos Stanton was a dog, would we be putting
- 7:09Speaker 1: him down right now?
- 7:11Speaker 2: I think you're right.
- 7:12Speaker 3: I think it's over for John Carlo Stanton because you're
- 7:14Speaker 3: looking at next season a potential lockout. I think we've
- 7:17Speaker 3: seen the last of John Carlos stayin in the Bronx y.
- 7:20Speaker 3: I don't think forever because he's forty four home runs
- 7:23Speaker 3: away from five hundred. I think a team like I
- 7:27Speaker 3: think a Marlins reunion is on the table for somebody
- 7:30Speaker 3: like John Carlos Stanton, where he takes a cheap deal
- 7:33Speaker 3: there Miami could sell tickets on this guy's chase towards
- 7:37Speaker 3: towards five hundred.
- 7:38Speaker 2: That's what the Marlins do.
- 7:39Speaker 3: Remember the days when four hundred home runs used to
- 7:41Speaker 3: be a guarantee to the Hall of Fame. Then people
- 7:43Speaker 3: watch Dave Kingman finish with four hundred and forty two
- 7:45Speaker 3: home runs and they kind of moved the goalpost on it.
- 7:48Speaker 2: Think it's because he had a thousand strikeouts.
- 7:51Speaker 3: I think John Carlos Stanton will be this generation's Dave
- 7:54Speaker 3: Kingman for five hundred home runs, where John Carlos Stanton
- 7:58Speaker 3: forty four seems like a lot for him, just with
- 8:01Speaker 3: his with his injury history and the concerns that come with.
- 8:05Speaker 2: Forty four could take forty four years. I mean, Jesus, but.
- 8:08Speaker 3: You would agree though, if he gets to five hundred
- 8:10Speaker 3: home runs, the Hall of Fame looks at him and says,
- 8:13Speaker 3: this guy is nowhere near a Hall of Famer.
- 8:16Speaker 1: Well, mikey A, what do you think is five hundred
- 8:18Speaker 1: home runs a guarantee to get you into the Hall
- 8:20Speaker 1: of Fame?
- 8:20Speaker 2: Still is there anyone?
- 8:22Speaker 1: Is there anyone who has hit five hundred home runs
- 8:25Speaker 1: who's not in the Hall of Fame?
- 8:26Speaker 2: I know, king it's not.
- 8:27Speaker 4: With a four hundred very bond.
- 8:31Speaker 2: Those guys are deserving. Now, besides the steroids.
- 8:33Speaker 3: Guys, there's nobody with five hundred or more home runs
- 8:37Speaker 3: not in the Hall of Fame that aren't linked to
- 8:40Speaker 3: pds or the Balco scandal at Sheffield, Many Ramirez, Rafael
- 8:44Speaker 3: Palmero McGuire, Sosa a Rod Bonds.
- 8:48Speaker 1: You think Stanton sticks around Mikey, He's made so much money,
- 8:51Speaker 1: he doesn't need to stick around. If he knew it
- 8:54Speaker 1: was going to get him into the Hall of Fame,
- 8:55Speaker 1: he probably sticks around to get the five hundred home runs.
- 8:59Speaker 4: I I have.
- 9:01Speaker 2: This, I mean this strike.
- 9:03Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, I have this terrible jetnus in me that
- 9:06Speaker 5: says what he's gonna do is he's gonna come back
- 9:09Speaker 5: for one more year, stay healthy, and hit fifty home
- 9:11Speaker 5: runs for somebody else, for the Marlins.
- 9:16Speaker 3: I think Schworber is kind of in this camp, two
- 9:18Speaker 3: of guys that could reach five hundred home runs, and
- 9:21Speaker 3: the Hall of Fame looks at you and says you're
- 9:23Speaker 3: not really a Hall of Fame player because Schwarber has
- 9:25Speaker 3: hit three hundred and seventy nine regular season home runs
- 9:29Speaker 3: at the time that we're recording this. But Kyle, when
- 9:33Speaker 3: you see a Hall of Famer, it feels like you
- 9:35Speaker 3: know it. Kyle Schwarber does not does not meet those
- 9:38Speaker 3: requirements for a test.
- 9:40Speaker 1: He's a gamer, though, and he's baseball schwarves base I
- 9:43Speaker 1: do love him. Put it on the ball? Is Schwarves baseball?
- 9:47Speaker 1: Did you guys see that game last night with the Phillies?
- 9:50Speaker 1: They were down four to nothing, two outs and then ninth.
- 9:53Speaker 3: Down to their last strike, like six times, they won
- 9:56Speaker 3: the game six four on a two run home run.
- 10:00Speaker 2: I'll walk off from Kyle Schwarber, I mean Schwarb's baseball.
- 10:03Speaker 3: Kyle Schwarber leads the league, and when he hits one,
- 10:06Speaker 3: you know it's gone almost immediately.
- 10:08Speaker 5: Yeah, Carlow in that conversation, by the way, Throw Sheffield
- 10:13Speaker 5: in that conversation, by the way as well.
- 10:15Speaker 3: Mikey very sneakily. You know who's in this conversation for
- 10:18Speaker 3: when they get a hold of one, you know it
- 10:19Speaker 3: almost instantly. Trent Grisham, Who's that? Trent Grisham doesn't get
- 10:24Speaker 3: a hold of them that often, but when he does,
- 10:26Speaker 3: but when he does, he absolutely pimps that thing.
- 10:29Speaker 1: It's going out of the park. All right, let's go,
- 10:32Speaker 1: let's go to little league baseball.
- 10:34Speaker 2: What do you have there? This is Taylor's five pack
- 10:36Speaker 2: of topics off a weekend.
- 10:37Speaker 4: I like this, that's usually my topic.
- 10:39Speaker 2: I know, little league baseball. What do you got? What
- 10:44Speaker 2: do you got? Taylor.
- 10:45Speaker 3: I'm kind of envious of Mikey in the summer that
- 10:47Speaker 3: Mikey's had because my little league baseball it was always
- 10:51Speaker 3: just marked by scandal. One of my coaches got convicted
- 10:54Speaker 3: of extortion and mail fraud. Like we had him one
- 10:57Speaker 3: day and then he wasn't the coach the next day,
- 11:00Speaker 3: and then we also had we also had the treasurer
- 11:04Speaker 3: of our little league got arrested for embezzling over one
- 11:08Speaker 3: hundred and fifty thousand dollars.
- 11:09Speaker 2: Jesus Christ.
- 11:10Speaker 3: But that was actually not my topic. That's not the
- 11:13Speaker 3: topic when I wish it was.
- 11:14Speaker 2: I mean, it's interesting.
- 11:16Speaker 4: I kind of want to talk about those things.
- 11:19Speaker 2: Did he serve hard time?
- 11:20Speaker 3: I mean, what happened the treasurer who she was a female,
- 11:25Speaker 3: one of the kids, one of the moms in the
- 11:28Speaker 3: little league, who was in charge of everything. I believe
- 11:31Speaker 3: she served time. Don't quote me on that. I would
- 11:35Speaker 3: be it would be a strange thing for you to quote.
- 11:37Speaker 1: He had me walking around telling people about the time
- 11:40Speaker 1: Taylor's treasurer of his little league team went to prison.
- 11:45Speaker 1: Don't quote me on that.
- 11:48Speaker 4: But the thing I said, don't quote me, right.
- 11:51Speaker 1: Someone calls Taylor from there and says, hey, stud just
- 11:54Speaker 1: told me the story about your treasurer. I told him
- 11:56Speaker 1: not to quote me.
- 11:57Speaker 3: I mean the little league topic that I had was
- 12:00Speaker 3: from the Brewers. Braves had a little league game around
- 12:06Speaker 3: the Little League World Series, played out of a neutral field,
- 12:09Speaker 3: and I thought it was a cool moment because it
- 12:11Speaker 3: was Carl Ravich on the call. Carl Ravich was let
- 12:15Speaker 3: go by ESPN and their layoffs, and they've let him
- 12:19Speaker 3: continue calling games that were already on his schedule, and
- 12:22Speaker 3: I believe the little league game last night was the
- 12:25Speaker 3: last thing that was on Carl Ravage's schedule, and I
- 12:28Speaker 3: thought it was just cool because there was plenty of
- 12:31Speaker 3: moments in that game where people were just giving Carl
- 12:33Speaker 3: Ravich as flowers. Where they're interviewing Garrett Mitchell, the Brewers
- 12:37Speaker 3: outfielder during the game. They're interviewing Chris Sale during the game,
- 12:41Speaker 3: and those two guys made it a point during their
- 12:44Speaker 3: airtime to just say, like, Carl Ravage, we appreciate everything
- 12:47Speaker 3: you've done for baseball. You know, you were a massive
- 12:50Speaker 3: part of our childhood and the reasons why we fell
- 12:54Speaker 3: in love with baseball. What you were able to do
- 12:56Speaker 3: for thirty years on ESPN, and I think it resonated
- 12:59Speaker 3: with a lot of the audience because a lot of
- 13:01Speaker 3: the audience grew up where Baseball Tonight was such a
- 13:04Speaker 3: staple on ESPN. I did, and people like Peter Gammons,
- 13:08Speaker 3: people like Harold Reynolds, Tim Kirchin, Tim Kirchin, Kruky Parlor, Ravage.
- 13:17Speaker 3: Those guys made baseball what baseball is today. And it
- 13:22Speaker 3: just feels wrong that ESPN's continuing on with baseball without
- 13:26Speaker 3: somebody like Carl Ravage.
- 13:28Speaker 1: They have to continue on with baseball. I understand what
- 13:30Speaker 1: it is you're saying. Carl Ravage is he was a
- 13:33Speaker 1: staple at ESPN for many, many years, and he loves
- 13:36Speaker 1: the Little League World Series. He loves being a part
- 13:38Speaker 1: of it. He loves calling it, he loves promoting it.
- 13:41Speaker 1: He loves baseball. I mean, Carl Ravich is.
- 13:44Speaker 3: Baseball correct the way I'm college football.
- 13:46Speaker 1: He deserves a tip of the cap, he deserves a tribute.
- 13:49Speaker 1: I'm glad he got it, and I think he'll continue
- 13:52Speaker 1: to get him. I don't think his career is done
- 13:53Speaker 1: to you. It's done at ESPN.
- 13:55Speaker 3: But no, I think somebody like Carl Ravich could just
- 13:57Speaker 3: start a baseball podcast, and people would people are always
- 14:01Speaker 3: gonna want to listen to here Call Ravage talk baseball.
- 14:03Speaker 3: They're gonna want to hear Tim Kirchin talk baseball. While
- 14:06Speaker 3: it seems like there's a baseball's a dying sport, per se,
- 14:11Speaker 3: there's always gonna be an appetite for baseball in this country.
- 14:14Speaker 3: It's American's past time.
- 14:15Speaker 1: If I were the Little League, I would step in
- 14:17Speaker 1: whoever's in charge there, assuming they're not in prison like
- 14:19Speaker 1: Taylors treasurer from his little league. But I would step
- 14:22Speaker 1: in and say, we want call Ravage as the permanent
- 14:25Speaker 1: voice for as long as he wants to do it
- 14:27Speaker 1: of the Little League World Series.
- 14:28Speaker 2: Mikey A likes that idea. Yes, of course I do.
- 14:31Speaker 5: I'm hoping to be there in two years and I'm
- 14:33Speaker 5: hoping to go shake Carl Ravage's hand, that's right, and
- 14:35Speaker 5: say hey, thanks for keep doing this.
- 14:37Speaker 1: Yes, you have Ravi's number, right, Taylor, Yeah, I believe,
- 14:40Speaker 1: so pitch him a baseball podcast.
- 14:42Speaker 2: Let's go him. I see what you did there, God
- 14:49Speaker 2: bless baseball.
- 14:50Speaker 3: Yeah, Mikey, my my twelve year old year in Little League,
- 14:53Speaker 3: the year that you could go to the Little League
- 14:55Speaker 3: World Series. We were one of the favorites. You would
- 14:58Speaker 3: have to imagine the odds said we were one of
- 15:00Speaker 3: the favorites. But our season ended in the championship game
- 15:04Speaker 3: because our our guy who was normally the catcher started
- 15:07Speaker 3: to complain that his knee hurt a little, so we
- 15:10Speaker 3: moved him to left field and I had to go
- 15:12Speaker 3: to the catcher position. Oh wow, and you guys know,
- 15:16Speaker 3: you guys know, I'm Andrew Jones out in the outfield.
- 15:18Speaker 2: Yep.
- 15:19Speaker 3: And our season ended because the guy that they moved
- 15:21Speaker 3: from catcher to left field made a catastrophic error in
- 15:25Speaker 3: the outfield, and our season we went from like up
- 15:28Speaker 3: six to four. And it was like a basis clearing,
- 15:32Speaker 3: basis loaded basis clearing hit that the other team walks.
- 15:35Speaker 1: I mean, perhaps when you have Andrew Jones in the outfield,
- 15:37Speaker 1: he shouldn't be your backup catcher.
- 15:39Speaker 2: I mean, I.
- 15:41Speaker 5: Can't wait to tell my kid about this because this
- 15:43Speaker 5: whole experience, going to sectionals and regionals and states and
- 15:47Speaker 5: all this stuff. I've been trying to tell him, You're
- 15:49Speaker 5: gonna remember this forever, like this is something that not
- 15:52Speaker 5: a lot of people get to do. And here I
- 15:54Speaker 5: am listening to Taylor, who's in his thirties talking about
- 15:57Speaker 5: not getting there. But the reason they didn't get there
- 16:00Speaker 5: is because they put some kid out in the outfield
- 16:02Speaker 5: who didn't belong there.
- 16:03Speaker 4: You're gonna remember.
- 16:04Speaker 3: This stuff, Mikey. It's still a topic between our friend
- 16:07Speaker 3: groups today.
- 16:08Speaker 4: Like I'm sure it is.
- 16:09Speaker 3: Remember the time, Remember the time that you complained about
- 16:12Speaker 3: niece soreness when we had a horse on the mound,
- 16:14Speaker 3: This kid on the mound, this kid on the mound.
- 16:17Speaker 3: Almonte asked where we skirted around every rule to get
- 16:22Speaker 3: this kid pitching as much as possible?
- 16:24Speaker 1: Right?
- 16:24Speaker 3: And then he went to private school? Uh, he he
- 16:27Speaker 3: left the public school and went to the private school
- 16:29Speaker 3: route and like he blew out his arm with him
- 16:31Speaker 3: like a year at don Bosco.
- 16:33Speaker 2: When he pitched for you, guys, did you make him
- 16:35Speaker 2: shave the beard?
- 16:37Speaker 1: No?
- 16:37Speaker 3: But this this kid, like I'm telling you, this kid
- 16:40Speaker 3: threw so hard that other kids didn't want to get
- 16:42Speaker 3: in the batter's box.
- 16:43Speaker 1: Really, now, had your manager stayed in place, meaning he
- 16:48Speaker 1: didn't get busted, didn't go to prison, would you still
- 16:50Speaker 1: have been the backup catcher?
- 16:51Speaker 4: I mean, so, don't quote him.
- 16:53Speaker 2: Sorry, Yeah, that.
- 16:54Speaker 3: Was a treasure through that kid. That guy you can
- 16:57Speaker 3: quote me, that guy who got bribed for extortion. He
- 16:59Speaker 3: did go to prison. I don't know if the treasure
- 17:02Speaker 3: I don't know if the treasurer just got fine.
- 17:04Speaker 1: But the manager who went to prison for extortion, did
- 17:07Speaker 1: he have you as the backup catcher?
- 17:09Speaker 3: Meaning so the the confusion here is that was my
- 17:13Speaker 3: manager for my like I think I was on the Giants,
- 17:16Speaker 3: he was. He was my manager for the Giants, got it.
- 17:19Speaker 3: And then we had a manager for the All Stars
- 17:22Speaker 3: and I was not. So we had two catchers. One
- 17:25Speaker 3: of them was a reliever for us, and then one
- 17:28Speaker 3: of us was the backup catcher. The backup catcher. It
- 17:32Speaker 3: wasn't even our starting catcher who was complaining about knees soreness,
- 17:35Speaker 3: but our starting catcher was now on the mound. It
- 17:38Speaker 3: was very confused. I could see how you got confused
- 17:40Speaker 3: in that situation. It was the backup catcher was actually complaining.
- 17:44Speaker 1: But again, when you have Andrew, it's very confusing. When
- 17:46Speaker 1: you have Andrew Jones in the outfield, you don't have
- 17:48Speaker 1: him as your backup catcher. It was like me as
- 17:50Speaker 1: the backup goalie. Clark University for lacrosse. Correct, I was
- 17:53Speaker 1: their best offensive player. Our goalie got hurt and I
- 17:55Speaker 1: had to get in the net.
- 17:57Speaker 3: I mean, two guys, we're team guys.
- 17:59Speaker 4: YEA Ernie would never allow any of this.
- 18:07Speaker 2: Over your dead dancing body.
- 18:13Speaker 1: Cleveland Browns Taylor's five pack of topics on a Monday, Browns,
- 18:17Speaker 1: go ahead.
- 18:19Speaker 3: I think if you are the New York Jets today,
- 18:22Speaker 3: you should hang a banner that says we're not the
- 18:24Speaker 3: Cleveland Browns, really, because I think the Cleveland Browns are
- 18:28Speaker 3: like such a joke when it comes to the NFL
- 18:30Speaker 3: where Deshaun Watson this weekend says he has no regrets
- 18:33Speaker 3: and calls out Cleveland Browns fans for booing him at home.
- 18:37Speaker 3: I would just like to remind people that in all
- 18:39Speaker 3: of this, this was not the narrative that when Deshaun
- 18:43Speaker 3: Watson got there that Browns fans. There were some Browns fans,
- 18:46Speaker 3: but it feels like a minority of Browns fans who
- 18:48Speaker 3: were like, this guy probably shouldn't be our starting quarterback.
- 18:51Speaker 3: It wasn't really until Deshaun Watson proved that he was
- 18:55Speaker 3: no longer a good quarterback where the Browns fans started
- 18:57Speaker 3: to turn on him, right, So this kind of feels
- 18:59Speaker 3: like it's situation where Browns fans deserve DeShawn Watson. Deshaun
- 19:02Speaker 3: Watson deserves the Browns fans, and then the Browns kind
- 19:05Speaker 3: of just deserve being the joke of the NFL.
- 19:06Speaker 1: So you're saying they're taking a moral stance because it's
- 19:09Speaker 1: convenient now because he's not playing well at quarterback, it's
- 19:12Speaker 1: convenient for them to now lean on the moral stance.
- 19:14Speaker 3: They are taking a moral stance on the quarterback once
- 19:17Speaker 3: he showed that they're no longer a contender.
- 19:20Speaker 1: Right, he goes twenty eight of thirty one with three
- 19:22Speaker 1: touchdowns in that first game and they win.
- 19:25Speaker 2: Watch their morals go out the window.
- 19:27Speaker 4: Okay, absolutely.
- 19:29Speaker 5: I was just thinking about this the other day. Do
- 19:31Speaker 5: you remember the the the teams that were trying to
- 19:35Speaker 5: get to Shaun Watson and just how this whole thing
- 19:38Speaker 5: went down.
- 19:39Speaker 4: Because it was a two team race.
- 19:40Speaker 5: It was between the Falcons and the Saints, and both
- 19:43Speaker 5: were like, oh, one of them's gonna get to Shawn
- 19:45Speaker 5: Watson to be a contender because the Browns were told no.
- 19:49Speaker 5: And then all of a sudden, the owners like, what
- 19:51Speaker 5: if I gave you two hundred and thirty million dollars
- 19:54Speaker 5: all guaranteed.
- 19:56Speaker 4: You know what, you know what, Cleveland's back in the race.
- 19:59Speaker 2: Baby, I'll tell you what.
- 20:02Speaker 1: If he goes twenty eight to thirty one three touchdowns
- 20:04Speaker 1: in that opening week, I will pick them up week two. Fantasy,
- 20:07Speaker 1: how about that? And so will you if you need one.
- 20:15Speaker 4: I have no morals when it comes to my fantasy team.
- 20:20Speaker 2: All right?
- 20:21Speaker 1: Topic number five Taylor's five back of topics on a Monday,
- 20:25Speaker 1: Al West.
- 20:26Speaker 2: What Yeah.
- 20:27Speaker 3: I was gonna use this topic as the fifth topic
- 20:30Speaker 3: because it feels like people aren't talking about it enough
- 20:33Speaker 3: and rightfully. So the topic is the American League West.
- 20:37Speaker 3: I don't think people are paying attention to just how
- 20:40Speaker 3: bad the AO West is this season. Right where you're
- 20:44Speaker 3: looking at them, nobody's about five hundred. The Astros are
- 20:49Speaker 3: leading the way. The Astros and the Rangers are tied.
- 20:52Speaker 3: They're sixty five and sixty six their run differential between
- 20:56Speaker 3: the five teams in the AO West. They have been
- 20:59Speaker 3: out scored by three hundred and ninety one runs.
- 21:03Speaker 2: Yeap. The Astros just fired their GM there in first place.
- 21:06Speaker 3: So you have zero teams above five hundred three gms
- 21:10Speaker 3: fired in this division this season because the Angels have
- 21:13Speaker 3: fired their GM, the A's have fired their GM, and
- 21:15Speaker 3: now the Astros have fired their GM. It's a It's
- 21:18Speaker 3: a horrific division and it's a shame that one of
- 21:20Speaker 3: these teams has to make the playoffs.
- 21:22Speaker 5: It is with the White Sox, with the White Sox
- 21:25Speaker 5: turning it around as much as they did, is the
- 21:28Speaker 5: AL West the new AL Central?
- 21:32Speaker 3: Probably, I'm gonna have to see they.
- 21:36Speaker 5: They used to rack up all their wins just beating
- 21:38Speaker 5: up on the AL Central, and now it's like.
- 21:40Speaker 3: I'm gonna have to see the AL Central. I'm gonna
- 21:42Speaker 3: have to see the game. Yeah, I'm gonna have to
- 21:43Speaker 3: see the AL Central doing in the playoffs because I
- 21:46Speaker 3: still don't really trust the White Sox, Guardians or Twins, whoever,
- 21:50Speaker 3: whoever makes it out of there, because Mikey, you are right,
- 21:53Speaker 3: like the Twins have historically been a team that makes
- 21:55Speaker 3: it to the postseason and the Yankees sweep them in
- 21:58Speaker 3: three or four games, depending on if it's a five
- 22:00Speaker 3: game series or a seven game series.
- 22:02Speaker 1: I was gonna make a big stance about getting rid
- 22:04Speaker 1: of the divisions, putting the best records into the postseason
- 22:07Speaker 1: in Baseball. But the third wildcard team is out of
- 22:10Speaker 1: the AL West, I believe, and it's the Rangers, and
- 22:12Speaker 1: they're worse than the Astros. Like they be getting in
- 22:17Speaker 1: any way, the Astros, Right, but in a different season
- 22:21Speaker 1: where there were other good teams. Let's just say, hypothetically
- 22:24Speaker 1: the Blue Jays were rather than you know, sixty four
- 22:28Speaker 1: and sixty eight, they're I don't know, they're seventy one
- 22:33Speaker 1: and fifty nine. They should be a play meaning the
- 22:37Speaker 1: AL West should not get a team in the playoffs.
- 22:39Speaker 1: It should just be the best teams in each league, right.
- 22:42Speaker 3: Well, the problem is those teams. Is that.
- 22:48Speaker 2: The problem? Because the Marlins would never have a shot anyway.
- 22:50Speaker 3: Sorry, The problem is those teams have to play their
- 22:54Speaker 3: division teams more often, where I think you're you're penalizing
- 22:58Speaker 3: the Blue Jays too much for having to be in
- 23:01Speaker 3: a division with the Yankees, with the Red Sox, with
- 23:04Speaker 3: the Orioles and and the Rays and that making up
- 23:07Speaker 3: a majority of their schedule.
- 23:09Speaker 2: All right, I mean I'm just looking for it's also right,
- 23:12Speaker 2: go ahead.
- 23:12Speaker 5: Sorry, but it's also a problem like in the NFL,
- 23:16Speaker 5: like you don't get to host that game you're not
- 23:18Speaker 5: good enough. To host that game, like you you got
- 23:20Speaker 5: in the playoffs, We get it. You you did what
- 23:23Speaker 5: you had to do to get in the playoffs.
- 23:24Speaker 4: But you don't deserve getting a home game. You don't
- 23:26Speaker 4: get you don't get home field advantage.
- 23:28Speaker 2: The AL is stinky man.
- 23:31Speaker 3: Yeah, outside of the East, Yeah, I.
- 23:35Speaker 2: Mean it's anyone's uh, anyone's pennant to win.
- 23:38Speaker 3: No, anybody's pennant coming from the AL East, you have.
- 23:45Speaker 2: But baseball so funny. I could see the White Sox
- 23:46Speaker 2: why not?
- 23:47Speaker 3: And right now the White Sox would have a buye
- 23:49Speaker 3: in the first round along with the Tampa Bay Race.
- 23:51Speaker 1: Nothing would make me happier, just to just speaking to
- 23:53Speaker 1: the randomness of the sport if it was White Sox Dodgers.
- 23:59Speaker 2: The White so for the worst team in MLB history
- 24:02Speaker 2: a year ago.
- 24:03Speaker 3: I'm pretty sure the first week of the season, I
- 24:05Speaker 3: wrote off the White Sox and I said they had
- 24:07Speaker 3: no shot to make the playoffs, which is probably aging
- 24:10Speaker 3: as one of my worst takes ever.
- 24:11Speaker 2: Did you officially eliminate them from playoff contention?
- 24:14Speaker 3: I have to go back and listen to it, because
- 24:16Speaker 3: I think I think when I officially eliminated the Mets,
- 24:18Speaker 3: you said is anybody else eliminated? And I just tossed
- 24:21Speaker 3: out the White Sox as a joke. But the White
- 24:23Speaker 3: Sox have been a sneaky great team this year.
- 24:26Speaker 2: They really have.
- 24:27Speaker 1: It's been a it's been an interesting story. Mikey here
- 24:40Speaker 1: has a list. Before we get to the polls from
- 24:42Speaker 1: last week, Mikey has a list.
- 24:45Speaker 2: Now we do some list on the radio show.
- 24:47Speaker 1: Mikey is uncertain of this list and it is not
- 24:50Speaker 1: certain whether or not he should bring.
- 24:52Speaker 2: It to the radio show, so he's gonna run a
- 24:54Speaker 2: bias first. What do you have?
- 24:57Speaker 5: So, yeah, the last time we did a list, it
- 25:00Speaker 5: was Jake's top one hundred baseball players, and let's let's
- 25:03Speaker 5: be honest, it didn't go over well. You guys could
- 25:06Speaker 5: not wait to get through it and be done with it.
- 25:08Speaker 5: So I've been trying. I've been scouring the internet for
- 25:10Speaker 5: lists and this one came across me today and it's
- 25:14Speaker 5: such a nuance, interesting topic to me, but I'm not
- 25:17Speaker 5: sure everybody.
- 25:18Speaker 4: Else would find it.
- 25:20Speaker 5: It is a list of the official rankings of NFL
- 25:24Speaker 5: press box food.
- 25:26Speaker 2: Oh wow, wow.
- 25:30Speaker 3: One of my favorite things to hear people complain about
- 25:33Speaker 3: on game days.
- 25:33Speaker 2: Right, free food?
- 25:34Speaker 4: Yes, yep, free food, and this.
- 25:37Speaker 3: Guy and very cold in the hard rock press box.
- 25:41Speaker 5: Yeah, and this guy went went through and ranked thirty
- 25:45Speaker 5: two to one the best and worst press box food.
- 25:49Speaker 5: And I'm just curing if that's too obscure.
- 25:53Speaker 1: I mean, Greg Cody would love it. Beat reporters would
- 25:55Speaker 1: love it. I'm not certain the audience would be interested.
- 25:58Speaker 2: If I'm being honest.
- 25:59Speaker 1: I mean, give me thirty two on the list who
- 26:01Speaker 1: has the worst food in Major League Baseball in the
- 26:04Speaker 1: press box?
- 26:05Speaker 2: Wow?
- 26:05Speaker 5: You know you said you weren't interested, but I just
- 26:08Speaker 5: want to hear thirty two. Yeah, the Jacksonville Jaguars.
- 26:14Speaker 4: Oh, it's all pre game the Jags pregame.
- 26:17Speaker 5: The Jags had burgers, potato salad, corn on the cob,
- 26:21Speaker 5: and baked beans.
- 26:22Speaker 4: And it was all gross. It was runny, it was Yeah,
- 26:28Speaker 4: the burger was as hard as a hockey buck. It
- 26:30Speaker 4: was gross. Right, there's pictures too.
- 26:33Speaker 1: Tell me the Jets are number one on this list.
- 26:35Speaker 1: I mean, tell me with the worst fun you get
- 26:39Speaker 1: the list.
- 26:39Speaker 2: I'm intrigued. I'm intrigued. I A yeah, I'm intrigued now.
- 26:43Speaker 3: Yes, So nobody is more intrigued by this list than
- 26:46Speaker 3: Ricardo because he travels with the Dolphins, and when you
- 26:49Speaker 3: suggested that the Dolphins that the Jets might be number one,
- 26:52Speaker 3: he said Jets do have good food.
- 26:55Speaker 2: Oh Jesus right, but.
- 26:57Speaker 3: Offered his analysis.
- 26:58Speaker 1: Yeah, good food, lousy football. That's how we do it. Wait,
- 27:03Speaker 1: have you been Ricardo? Have you been to Jacksonville?
- 27:05Speaker 2: To the press bog, I have not been to Jacksonville yet. Okay,
- 27:08Speaker 2: what's your what's your first road game this year? We're
- 27:10Speaker 2: going to Vegas.
- 27:11Speaker 1: Oh wow, all right, that should be great. I want
- 27:14Speaker 1: to I want a review of every stadium you go
- 27:17Speaker 1: to this year, A preast box food review.
- 27:20Speaker 3: Done reviews with Riccardo, Riccardo's reviews.
- 27:24Speaker 5: Yeah, that's how we're opening the show on Mondays.
- 27:27Speaker 2: Oh, I can't wait. What is uh?
- 27:29Speaker 1: What is Las Vegas ranked on your list? I don't
- 27:31Speaker 1: want you to give away the rest of the list. No,
- 27:33Speaker 1: just sobody's getting himself into I mean no.
- 27:36Speaker 4: You don't. Either you get the list or you don't.
- 27:39Speaker 2: Right, Okay, you're right, Okay, I want the list, dammit.
- 27:42Speaker 2: I said it.
- 27:43Speaker 3: I told you who's thirty one?
- 27:45Speaker 2: Who's thirty one? Just give us that, Just give us
- 27:46Speaker 2: that thirty one.
- 27:48Speaker 5: Hold on, I gotta scroll back on either because I
- 27:50Speaker 5: was trying to find Vegas.
- 27:52Speaker 1: Uh.
- 27:52Speaker 4: Number thirty one was the Cleveland Browns. Of course.
- 27:58Speaker 1: They don't serve call Oh okay, here's some lousy food
- 28:02Speaker 1: to come along with your lousy football. Who would want
- 28:08Speaker 1: to cover that team? I mean, poor Aaron Goldhammer making
- 28:15Speaker 1: it up. I have no idea if he does cover
- 28:17Speaker 1: the team. He doesn't talk show.
- 28:18Speaker 3: Though these lists. It's like sports writers try to be
- 28:22Speaker 3: a little more relatable, Like we don't need to hear
- 28:23Speaker 3: about Tim Callishaw going to the Cowboys Browns game and
- 28:27Speaker 3: how bad the Browns food was.
- 28:29Speaker 1: Right, you get great seats. You got to NFL games.
- 28:31Speaker 1: You chose to do this for a living. No one cares.
- 28:34Speaker 3: Just tell us who's playing and whose injury designation? You know,
- 28:37Speaker 3: sources to We don't need to hear. How how are
- 28:40Speaker 3: the Collard.
- 28:41Speaker 2: Greens unless it's Ricardo.
- 28:44Speaker 3: Used, that's different.
- 28:46Speaker 5: It's awful to do that. Don't do it. Baltimore Raven's number.
- 28:49Speaker 3: Thirty, Wow, that's that's the first one that I'm show.
- 28:53Speaker 2: Why are you shocked by that?
- 28:55Speaker 3: I mean because Jacksonville and Cleveland just give off like
- 28:58Speaker 3: kind of sad organization in like Baltimore. You would think
- 29:01Speaker 3: that they would put a little more pride behind what
- 29:03Speaker 3: they're cooking up on game days.
- 29:05Speaker 1: I mean, but it's pretty well they do, I'm certain,
- 29:07Speaker 1: but just not for the media. All right, let's update
- 29:13Speaker 1: the polls here from last week. We forgot to do
- 29:16Speaker 1: it towards the end of last week, so we'll do it.
- 29:19Speaker 1: We'll do it right now on a Monday fresh box food.
- 29:23Speaker 2: I'm intrigue.
- 29:25Speaker 3: Lane Kiffin doesn't care about the history of your school.
- 29:28Speaker 2: He doesn't at all.
- 29:31Speaker 3: Yeah, this was around the giving Jaden Daniels number to
- 29:35Speaker 3: a sophomore this season.
- 29:38Speaker 1: Right, No one hits the NFL Back to College Transfer
- 29:41Speaker 1: portal like Lane kifvin.
- 29:43Speaker 2: Yeah, guys, all over.
- 29:44Speaker 3: Jesus, ninety percent of the audience said, yes, Lane Kiffin
- 29:48Speaker 3: does not care about the history of your scare about Mississippi.
- 29:50Speaker 2: He doesn't care about LSU.
- 29:52Speaker 1: LSU thinks he cares about LSU until he leaves LSU
- 29:55Speaker 1: and then they realize, oh, we never cared about us.
- 29:57Speaker 3: This is a big one here. Should there be a
- 29:59Speaker 3: stat where the wide receiver causes the interception? When the
- 30:03Speaker 3: wide receiver causes the interception, one should.
- 30:06Speaker 1: Be a stat that should be on take it off
- 30:08Speaker 1: the quarterback, put it on the wide receiver.
- 30:10Speaker 3: Yes, ninety four percent of the audience agreed.
- 30:12Speaker 2: Good, I like that. Chris Sims would love that.
- 30:15Speaker 4: Yeah, six percent of the audience plays quarterback.
- 30:19Speaker 3: You think quarterbacks don't want that stat?
- 30:22Speaker 2: No, no, no, no, they're perfectly fine.
- 30:24Speaker 4: Blame the wide receiver the way.
- 30:26Speaker 3: Wide receivers don't need that.
- 30:27Speaker 1: Wide receivers don't want the stat. Quarterbacks desperately want that stat. Yes, hey,
- 30:32Speaker 1: it wasn't me, he ran the wrong route.
- 30:33Speaker 2: What do you want me to do? Right?
- 30:36Speaker 3: Should preseason football have a champion? And should the champion
- 30:39Speaker 3: receive the Harball Trophy?
- 30:41Speaker 2: Hell, yeah, I don't know.
- 30:43Speaker 1: I don't know if it should have a champion, but
- 30:45Speaker 1: if it did have a champion, it should be the
- 30:47Speaker 1: Harbad Trophy.
- 30:48Speaker 3: Yes, yeah, But wouldn't you be more inclined to watch
- 30:51Speaker 3: it if it was like a bracket format instead of
- 30:53Speaker 3: four weeks of football? Well, now, now three weeks of football?
- 30:56Speaker 3: If it was if it was formatted in the way
- 30:58Speaker 3: of every team gets eliminated and the eliminated team's playing
- 31:02Speaker 3: almost like a loser bracket, and then at the end
- 31:04Speaker 3: you have a championship game. Even if that championship game
- 31:08Speaker 3: is being played between Carson Beck and Aiden O'Connell, I
- 31:11Speaker 3: feel like, just just calling at the preseason championship, I
- 31:14Speaker 3: would be more inclined to click on it if I
- 31:16Speaker 3: saw it on my YouTube team.
- 31:17Speaker 2: Is there a Harbod Trophy? Yeah, you've hooked me in.
- 31:24Speaker 3: Sixty seven percent of the audience said, yes, preseason should
- 31:28Speaker 3: have a champion.
- 31:29Speaker 1: All right, next ball, that's still got seven ninety on AX,
- 31:31Speaker 1: Go ahead.
- 31:32Speaker 3: This is a massive one for me. Is Charlotte the
- 31:35Speaker 3: Buffalo of the South? He said that last week, So
- 31:43Speaker 3: because of my connections to North Carolina, this is something
- 31:46Speaker 3: that whenever I say it, people right in agreeing with
- 31:50Speaker 3: me and saying thank you for bringing awareness to how
- 31:53Speaker 3: how much Buffalo influence there is in Charlotte. Fifty five
- 31:58Speaker 3: percent of the audience said, yes, Charlotte is the Buffalo
- 32:01Speaker 3: of the South.
- 32:01Speaker 2: All right, big win for you.
- 32:03Speaker 4: It's close.
- 32:03Speaker 3: Yeah, it was very close.
- 32:04Speaker 2: The closest one this week. I'm sweating it out. Yeah.
- 32:07Speaker 5: Do you think people from Buffalo or people from Charlotte
- 32:10Speaker 5: were disagreeing with you?
- 32:10Speaker 3: More Buffalo? Because I think Buffalo prides themselves on being
- 32:14Speaker 3: the Buffalo of the Buffalo.
- 32:16Speaker 1: Yes, we're buffalo. There is no second Buffalo. Charlotte certainly
- 32:19Speaker 1: not it. Yes, yep, okay, mm hmm.
- 32:23Speaker 3: There shouldn't be a fence in the field of dreams game,
- 32:25Speaker 3: just cornfield that.
- 32:27Speaker 2: Better come back one.
- 32:28Speaker 1: I mean, seriously, why would you have a fence when
- 32:30Speaker 1: you have a cornfield?
- 32:33Speaker 3: Couldn't agree with you more. And ninety three percent of
- 32:35Speaker 3: the audience also agreed with you.
- 32:39Speaker 2: Seven percent likes fences, seven percent hates life.
- 32:43Speaker 3: Yeah, the contrarians are looking for everything.
- 32:48Speaker 2: It's a bit far, but.
- 32:50Speaker 4: Put that on a poll to seven percent of the
- 32:51Speaker 4: audience hate life.
- 32:52Speaker 2: See this.
- 32:53Speaker 1: Seven percent of the people who voted know on corn
- 32:56Speaker 1: fields on fences and corn fields need a lot.
- 33:00Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 33:01Speaker 1: Okay, I don't know how you would phrase it. It's hard, tricky, Mike,
- 33:05Speaker 1: He's right, do a.
- 33:06Speaker 2: Pole on that pole?
- 33:09Speaker 3: Is giving Jeremiah Love double digit carries in a preseason
- 33:13Speaker 3: game grounds for a malpractice lawsuit?
- 33:15Speaker 2: Yep? It is.
- 33:16Speaker 1: You're just showing off your new toy for no reason
- 33:18Speaker 1: in a game that doesn't count.
- 33:20Speaker 2: Yep.
- 33:21Speaker 3: Eighty eight percent of the audience said, yes, let's try
- 33:25Speaker 3: lafleur for a malpractice lawsuit.
- 33:29Speaker 2: Wow.
- 33:29Speaker 3: This is a big one for Chris Simms.
- 33:31Speaker 2: Okay.
- 33:32Speaker 3: Is it part of the job as a delivery driver
- 33:35Speaker 3: to be comfortable around dogs?
- 33:37Speaker 1: Okay, So Chris Simms told the story delivery driver doesn't
- 33:40Speaker 1: like to get out of the car because Sims's dog
- 33:42Speaker 1: is always roaming around the yard.
- 33:43Speaker 3: So I got an update from Sims because I texted
- 33:46Speaker 3: Simms because when I went to his house, I was
- 33:49Speaker 3: envisioning a small dog. Yeah, he must have got a
- 33:52Speaker 3: new dog recently that this topic was about, because he says,
- 33:56Speaker 3: I have two German shepherds right now because my daughter
- 34:00Speaker 3: is home from school. The German shepherd on the loose
- 34:04Speaker 3: changes changes every changes.
- 34:06Speaker 4: The game changes everything.
- 34:08Speaker 2: I ain't getting out of that car. Yeah, no, I've.
- 34:13Speaker 3: Often thought about this because German shepherds are police dogs, right,
- 34:17Speaker 3: I've often thought, you know how they have like those
- 34:18Speaker 3: words like that will flip them into like killer mode. Sure,
- 34:22Speaker 3: I'm terrified one day I'm gonna accidentally say one of
- 34:24Speaker 3: the words.
- 34:25Speaker 2: What are the words?
- 34:26Speaker 3: Most of the time, it's like a word in German?
- 34:29Speaker 3: And even though I don't speak German and I don't
- 34:31Speaker 3: know any German, like.
- 34:33Speaker 5: You'll sneeze and it'll come out that way.
- 34:36Speaker 3: Yeah, and then all of a sudden, I've got a
- 34:37Speaker 3: dog watched onto my arm that I can't shake off.
- 34:43Speaker 3: It's one of my most irrational fears that in quicksand.
- 34:46Speaker 1: It's a weird fear considering you don't know any German.
- 34:49Speaker 4: Correct.
- 34:50Speaker 3: Yes, well, it's also an irrational field fear to be
- 34:53Speaker 3: afraid of quicksand. Growing up, I thought I would encounter
- 34:56Speaker 3: quicksand almost on a daily occurrence daily. Yeah, in school,
- 35:00Speaker 3: all I heard about was quicksand where it was like,
- 35:02Speaker 3: oh my gosh, this is what you have to do
- 35:04Speaker 3: when you encounter quicksand you can't fight it, where it's like,
- 35:08Speaker 3: why are you guys telling me this, Like like I'm
- 35:10Speaker 3: gonna be walking through to my house and encounter Quicksand.
- 35:14Speaker 2: Who would you go to school with? Scooby Doo.
- 35:19Speaker 3: Ducktails Gilligan, Mikey, you would agree, though, for as much
- 35:25Speaker 3: as we heard about quicksand growing up, you would have
- 35:28Speaker 3: thought it was far more prevalent.
- 35:30Speaker 5: Yeah, I thought it was absolutely everywhere, Like if you
- 35:33Speaker 5: weren't to the beach and you just happen to step
- 35:35Speaker 5: in the wrong.
- 35:35Speaker 3: Yes, it was wrong place, wrong time. I'm going down
- 35:38Speaker 3: with some quicksand you guys.
- 35:41Speaker 4: It was a big thing in the nineties.
- 35:43Speaker 1: Okay, fine, but from cartoons, I feel like, okay, yea.
- 35:48Speaker 3: Death by quicksand I was almost assured that's how I
- 35:52Speaker 3: was gonna go out, death by Quicksand.
- 35:54Speaker 1: I gotta tell you, just from the movies and cartoons,
- 35:56Speaker 1: quicksand not so quick.
- 35:58Speaker 2: No, it seems like you sit there forever. I mean,
- 36:01Speaker 2: speed it up?
- 36:02Speaker 4: What you You never watched The Princess Bride.
- 36:05Speaker 1: No, I'm just saying, if your quicksand be quick. If
- 36:09Speaker 1: you're gonna eat me up, if you're gonna swallow me,
- 36:10Speaker 1: if you're gonna kill me, do it quickly, not slowly.
- 36:13Speaker 1: That's why I jumped into the quicksand then struggle.
- 36:16Speaker 4: They'll get you down. It'll get you down there quicker.
- 36:18Speaker 4: So we learned that.
- 36:20Speaker 3: Anyways, seventy three percent of the audience said they do
- 36:22Speaker 3: think it's part of the job of a delivery driver
- 36:25Speaker 3: to be comfortable around dogs.
- 36:26Speaker 2: Now make it now making a shepherd? Yes, and see
- 36:29Speaker 2: what they say.
- 36:30Speaker 3: Big one for me here?
- 36:31Speaker 2: All right?
- 36:32Speaker 3: Our dalmatian's a sneaky, aggressive dog breed.
- 36:37Speaker 4: That's just fact.
- 36:39Speaker 2: I'm with you.
- 36:40Speaker 3: Yes, So we had somebody right in. Aggressive might not
- 36:43Speaker 3: be the best word, but they are a sneaky crazy
- 36:46Speaker 3: breed anyways. Eighty five percent of the audience said yes,
- 36:49Speaker 3: they do believe sneaky aggressive.
- 36:51Speaker 2: Dog breed excellent.
- 36:54Speaker 3: Does Aid and O'Connell live in the four pm window
- 36:56Speaker 3: on an NFL Sunday.
- 36:57Speaker 1: Four o'clock exactly, not four twenty five, not four o'clock
- 37:01Speaker 1: exactly where they put the bad gate?
- 37:03Speaker 2: Yes he does, he lives there.
- 37:06Speaker 3: Eighty seven percent of the audience also said, yes, it's
- 37:10Speaker 3: the BRDS gap. Does Justin Herbert always have an excuse?
- 37:17Speaker 2: Yep?
- 37:17Speaker 3: This comes after the news that his center got hurt,
- 37:20Speaker 3: that they gave him or they got for him this offseason,
- 37:23Speaker 3: and they're already reshuffling the line. And I believe Stu
- 37:26Speaker 3: Yachts was the one who said, if it wasn't this,
- 37:29Speaker 3: something else would have came up, where where people give
- 37:32Speaker 3: Justin Herbert just get out of free jail?
- 37:34Speaker 2: Card I did say that.
- 37:38Speaker 1: I'm just looking up the disparity between the four and
- 37:41Speaker 1: the four to twenty five game Week two of the
- 37:42Speaker 1: NFL season.
- 37:44Speaker 3: What is it right now?
- 37:44Speaker 2: Well, Week one, they all start at four to twenty five.
- 37:46Speaker 3: It's very four to twenty five is always like Eagles Cowboys.
- 37:52Speaker 3: The Chiefs are at four twenty five.
- 37:53Speaker 1: So goes, here's week two. Week two at four to
- 37:59Speaker 1: twenty five. Your game is Cowboys Commanders always.
- 38:02Speaker 3: Cowboys are always going to be in four twenty five.
- 38:04Speaker 2: Okay.
- 38:07Speaker 1: The four oh five game Week two is Aiden O'Connell
- 38:11Speaker 1: versus the Chargers.
- 38:15Speaker 2: Wow, yeah, special, I'll be glued to all of them. Uh.
- 38:22Speaker 3: Ninety percent of the audience said yes, justin Herbert always
- 38:24Speaker 3: has an excuse. Okay, this is a big one for me.
- 38:28Speaker 3: Versus Mikey verus Ricardo? Wow, would you want to witness
- 38:32Speaker 3: a perfect game in person if it came against your team?
- 38:35Speaker 2: I can't believe you guys said no to this. It's crazy.
- 38:38Speaker 2: It's one of one sixty two. Who cares your witness history?
- 38:41Speaker 3: I said, definitive no. Ricardo said no. I said Mikey
- 38:44Speaker 3: should turn in his Yankee fan card.
- 38:46Speaker 2: David, Yeah, you did say that. Who's hurting.
- 38:50Speaker 3: Fifty five percent of the audience ooh close, said they
- 38:54Speaker 3: would still want to witness the perfect game.
- 38:56Speaker 2: Thank you?
- 38:57Speaker 4: Oh wow, terrible? How about that?
- 38:59Speaker 2: Yep, terrible.
- 39:01Speaker 4: It's a lot of cards to collect. Taylor.
- 39:05Speaker 3: Yes, I'll send everybody my address and they can just
- 39:08Speaker 3: ship them to me, and.
- 39:08Speaker 2: Said, you seem outraged by this.
- 39:11Speaker 3: It's terrible. It's one where you think you know the audience, yeah,
- 39:14Speaker 3: but you don't. And then it comes back and I
- 39:16Speaker 3: was like, no, I really don't know you guys, And
- 39:18Speaker 3: now I'm questioning who you are.
- 39:19Speaker 2: I mean, they're not true baseball fans like you.
- 39:21Speaker 3: If you're listening to this right now and you voted yes,
- 39:24Speaker 3: I'm questioning you.
- 39:25Speaker 2: Your baseball yeah, judging you. Do you have any more?
- 39:31Speaker 3: Two more pole questions? All right, it's a big one
- 39:35Speaker 3: for everybody. Okay, If Sean McVeigh goes seventeen and oh,
- 39:39Speaker 3: and Tom Mounkin goes seven and ten, who wins Coach
- 39:43Speaker 3: of the Year.
- 39:43Speaker 2: It's gotta be Monkey.
- 39:45Speaker 4: It's Monkin.
- 39:46Speaker 2: Just based on expectations.
- 39:48Speaker 1: I'm not going to be nearly as surprised if McVeigh
- 39:51Speaker 1: goes seventeen and oh as I will be if Monkin
- 39:54Speaker 1: pulls out seven games with that team.
- 39:56Speaker 4: Indeed, especially with DeShawn Watson at quarterback.
- 39:59Speaker 2: You should Coach the Year at a lifetime extension. Monkin.
- 40:02Speaker 3: There's no way Deshaun Watson's their starting quarterback.
- 40:05Speaker 2: They just announced four. By like week four, I oh,
- 40:08Speaker 2: by week four, we'll see. I think it's I think if.
- 40:11Speaker 3: You're the Browns, you name Deshaun Watson, you're starting quarterback
- 40:15Speaker 3: just because of the good PR you're gonna get with
- 40:17Speaker 3: bench Deshaun Watson.
- 40:18Speaker 2: Well, and you're on the road for the first two.
- 40:20Speaker 3: Yeah, where it's like if if you name Shaudor Sanders
- 40:23Speaker 3: your quarterback and then you bench Shaudor for Deshaun Watson,
- 40:26Speaker 3: you're just getting more bad PR. You do something that you.
- 40:33Speaker 4: Want, Yeah, you should do about that.
- 40:36Speaker 3: I'm not sure about it. That's why I kind of
- 40:37Speaker 3: pose it as a question.
- 40:38Speaker 2: Maybe seemed more like a statement.
- 40:45Speaker 1: He's going to be their starter, and if he's good,
- 40:48Speaker 1: he'll continue to be their starter. And if he's good
- 40:51Speaker 1: and they're winning football games, all the fans who were.
- 40:54Speaker 2: Upset that he is their starter will no longer be upset.
- 40:58Speaker 3: That's a disgusting Sixty seven percent of the audience said
- 41:02Speaker 3: it's Todd Monkins coaching the Year award.
- 41:05Speaker 1: To lose seven wins, right, Yeah, with seven wins, I
- 41:08Speaker 1: love that seventy to do.
- 41:10Speaker 3: Big one for Steve Gotts here all right. If Ryan
- 41:14Speaker 3: Day lost week one to ball State. Is the Ohio
- 41:19Speaker 3: State's coach Week two?
- 41:21Speaker 2: All right? I got out of hand.
- 41:22Speaker 1: I said, I if he went win list this entire season,
- 41:26Speaker 1: he has so much job security he would return as
- 41:28Speaker 1: the Ohio State coach the next season. I was wrong
- 41:33Speaker 1: because going win list would mean he would lose to
- 41:36Speaker 1: Ball State and Kent State in the first three weeks
- 41:38Speaker 1: of the season, not to mention Michigan, so he would
- 41:44Speaker 1: be fired. But now you're just asking about ball States.
- 41:49Speaker 2: Yep.
- 41:49Speaker 3: If he loses to ball State week one, does he
- 41:52Speaker 3: make it to week two?
- 41:53Speaker 2: Does he get week two? Mikey, how do you think
- 41:55Speaker 2: the audience voted on this? He gets to week two,
- 41:59Speaker 2: he does get?
- 42:00Speaker 4: He gets? He gets week two?
- 42:02Speaker 2: Yes, but.
- 42:04Speaker 3: Then you got to beat Texas by a lot becomes
- 42:07Speaker 3: a must win.
- 42:09Speaker 4: Because Texas becomes a must win. No use to ball
- 42:12Speaker 4: State Texas as a must win. Right, there's no more
- 42:14Speaker 4: to know that game. I think it's at Texas.
- 42:16Speaker 1: Right, there's no moral victories after losing the Ball State.
- 42:19Speaker 1: You can't lose to Texas seventeen sixteen combined where they
- 42:22Speaker 1: lost a ball State and keep your job. Last week
- 42:25Speaker 1: I said he can go winless, so you.
- 42:28Speaker 3: Guys say he could lose week one and survive to
- 42:31Speaker 3: week two, But sixty two percent of the audience said, no,
- 42:35Speaker 3: Ryan Day, if you lose the ball state, you're out
- 42:38Speaker 3: of there. Pack your bag, buddy.
- 42:40Speaker 2: They might be right. I'd like to see it, but
- 42:43Speaker 2: I like Ryan Day.
- 42:44Speaker 3: You know, I was a little upset how much I
- 42:49Speaker 3: liked Ryan Day when he came on.
- 42:51Speaker 1: That's what it'll happen, hey, talking to my enemies. Who
- 42:55Speaker 1: is your worst enemy? Because it will happen to you
- 42:58Speaker 1: in this bit? Well, no, no, well it's Belichick for Taylor.
- 43:03Speaker 3: No, Belichick hasn't reached enemy status for me. This happened
- 43:08Speaker 3: in Tahoe. Actually, Stu, if you remember, you said, get
- 43:10Speaker 3: Kevin Malar on the show, and I said, yes, I
- 43:13Speaker 3: really have no interest in talking to anybody from that
- 43:15Speaker 3: two thousand and four Red Sox team. They kind of
- 43:17Speaker 3: ruined my childhood. Yeah, and then you said, I don't
- 43:19Speaker 3: care if you don't like Kevin Mallar, go over and
- 43:21Speaker 3: get Kevin Mallar on the show.
- 43:23Speaker 1: And I said, eh, yeah, because it happens. And then
- 43:26Speaker 1: Kevin Mallar agreed to come on the show. And then
- 43:28Speaker 1: he josted us because he said he had to do
- 43:30Speaker 1: something with his wife, and he just never returned.
- 43:32Speaker 2: And I've been texting him.
- 43:33Speaker 1: And making fun of him the entire time since, Like, Hey, okay, Malar,
- 43:38Speaker 1: but you will find this in this industry that people
- 43:40Speaker 1: you think you're not gonna like, you'll get him on
- 43:43Speaker 1: the show. They'll show a little, you know, personal side
- 43:46Speaker 1: of themselves and all of a sudden, you're like, man,
- 43:48Speaker 1: I like Roman Anthony.
- 43:49Speaker 3: Yeah, And that's why I didn't want to have Kevin
- 43:51Speaker 3: Malara on, because I know Kevin Malar has a likable personality.
- 43:54Speaker 3: Where you're telling me I would like Kevin Malar ad
- 43:56Speaker 3: nance telling me I would like Kevin Mallar. I would
- 43:58Speaker 3: love him, yes, but I don't. I don't want to.
- 44:01Speaker 2: You don't want to love them, right? You want me
- 44:04Speaker 2: to book them when you're off.
- 44:05Speaker 3: I mean, I just won't say.
- 44:08Speaker 4: I don't want to talk to him either.
- 44:12Speaker 3: Yeah, cowboy up, get out of your coat.
- 44:14Speaker 1: Do you know how much I hated Marino until I
- 44:17Speaker 1: had dinner with Dan Marino?
- 44:20Speaker 2: There was no need for a long.
- 44:22Speaker 4: Way to tell us who had dinner for Dan Marino.
- 44:24Speaker 2: Thingo, those are the bulls
