Transcript
- 0:05Speaker 1: It's the Inside Scoop with the Ft senior insider Ken
- 0:07Speaker 1: Rosenthal and Ken. We continue to learn more stories about
- 0:10Speaker 1: what could have happened at the trade deadline, and interesting
- 0:14Speaker 1: one from some of your colleagues at the Athletic regarding
- 0:17Speaker 1: Jose Soriano and phone calls that continued after he was traded.
- 0:22Speaker 2: Is that common? It is common, and oftentimes, Scott, you'll
- 0:27Speaker 2: hear of teams saying to the team that acquired a player, yeah,
- 0:31Speaker 2: we were in on that guy. We just didn't have enough.
- 0:34Speaker 2: What do you think what would it take? And I
- 0:37Speaker 2: don't know that it's completely common, but it's not uncommon.
- 0:40Speaker 2: Put it that way. I guess I'm kind of parsing
- 0:42Speaker 2: my words here, But regardless, what happened here was that
- 0:46Speaker 2: the Jays gets Soriana on deadline warning. I think it
- 0:50Speaker 2: was announced at nine nine thirty Eastern something like that,
- 0:53Speaker 2: and then they took some calls from the Minnesota Twins
- 0:56Speaker 2: and from the Chicago Cubs, and Dan Hayes and Mitch
- 0:59Speaker 2: Vanna and of the Athletic had details about the Twins
- 1:02Speaker 2: offer and they were willing to do the infielder that
- 1:05Speaker 2: they just brought up. Kayln Culpepper, and then the Jays said, okay,
- 1:09Speaker 2: we'll take that and we want Riley Quick, one of
- 1:11Speaker 2: your top pitching prospects, and that's when the Twins said, no,
- 1:14Speaker 2: thank you. But these conversations do take place, and especially
- 1:18Speaker 2: when you have that much time remaining before the deadline,
- 1:22Speaker 2: there is the possibility always of that player getting flipped again.
- 1:27Speaker 2: I can't recall an example recently when that happened, but
- 1:31Speaker 2: I know it has happened. In fact, one of the
- 1:33Speaker 2: Rogers brothers got traded last year. I think it was Taylor.
- 1:38Speaker 2: It wasn't all on deadline day, but he went one
- 1:42Speaker 2: team to another and then to a second team or
- 1:44Speaker 2: third team. So it does happen.
- 1:46Speaker 3: Yes, Ken, there was a guy a couple of years
- 1:48Speaker 3: ago that got traded with like two weeks before. Remember
- 1:51Speaker 3: that had been to the Twins, and then the Twins
- 1:53Speaker 3: turned around and they kind of lost a bunch of games.
- 1:56Speaker 3: I think it was the Twins, and then I don't
- 1:57Speaker 3: remember who the player was, but then they turned around
- 1:59Speaker 3: and got rid of the right two weeks later out
- 2:02Speaker 3: the trade deadline. So this is not an unprecedented thing
- 2:05Speaker 3: and just surprising me for someone of the value of Soriano,
- 2:09Speaker 3: or of the thought of how good he is that
- 2:11Speaker 3: the Blue Jays would trade for him and then just
- 2:14Speaker 3: not shut it down right away and said they're like, wow,
- 2:16Speaker 3: well listen, aj you know this.
- 2:19Speaker 2: Every team has a price on every player. So even
- 2:22Speaker 2: though the Jays get Soriano and the idea is for
- 2:25Speaker 2: him to be controllable for two more years, pitch in
- 2:28Speaker 2: the same rotation as dill Uncase, who has signed long term,
- 2:32Speaker 2: if some team comes to them, If the Twins they'd
- 2:34Speaker 2: come to them and said Kayln Culpepper Riley quick plus,
- 2:38Speaker 2: the Jays would have done it because they would have
- 2:40Speaker 2: believed that the value that they were getting back was
- 2:43Speaker 2: even greater than the value of Jose Soriano. So that
- 2:47Speaker 2: is not unusual. And the scenarios you just described, and
- 2:49Speaker 2: I don't remember them off the top of my head either,
- 2:51Speaker 2: those are not unusual scenarios either. You'll often see a
- 2:54Speaker 2: team try to give itself the best shot by making
- 2:58Speaker 2: a trade, say July fifteenth, even earlier, and then if
- 3:01Speaker 2: it doesn't work out, they can flip that player again.
- 3:04Speaker 2: Most dramatically, this occurred the year the Angels loaded up,
- 3:07Speaker 2: remember with Lucas Gilito and Ronaldo Lopez and a bunch
- 3:11Speaker 2: of others, and then they waved all of them in
- 3:13Speaker 2: August after they fell apart. These things do happen.
- 3:17Speaker 4: That was Scott's favorite, the dump deadline, anything to dump
- 3:20Speaker 4: a little bit of salary. Scott loved that, Yes he
- 3:24Speaker 4: loved it. But there's no rule against this, correct because
- 3:27Speaker 4: we have three team trades all the time. Essentially, it
- 3:30Speaker 4: would be kind of a three team trade. But with that,
- 3:33Speaker 4: do you think this is going to come up in
- 3:35Speaker 4: the CBA now that this information came out, like players
- 3:38Speaker 4: don't want to be traded and then traded again like
- 3:42Speaker 4: a day or two later in the middle of the season,
- 3:44Speaker 4: the offseason, you can't do anything about.
- 3:47Speaker 2: No, I don't expect anything in the CBA to cover this.
- 3:50Speaker 2: And the bottom line is, eric, if you don't have
- 3:52Speaker 2: a no trade clause, you can be traded at any time.
- 3:55Speaker 2: And yes, it's uncomfortable, it's weird for a player to
- 3:58Speaker 2: get possibly traded twice on the same day, but there
- 4:02Speaker 2: is nothing in the CBA, or for that matter, really
- 4:06Speaker 2: the context of the game that would prevent that from
- 4:08Speaker 2: happening and make it to the point where, wow, that's
- 4:12Speaker 2: really a bad thing. I don't know that anyone sees
- 4:14Speaker 2: it that way except maybe a player who would be
- 4:17Speaker 2: in that situation. But even that player, let's say Soriano
- 4:20Speaker 2: got moved again, Let's say he went to the Twins,
- 4:23Speaker 2: he wouldn't have even packed his bags by then, or
- 4:26Speaker 2: at least gotten on a play most likely to the
- 4:28Speaker 2: other cities. So I don't see a real problem with this.
- 4:31Speaker 2: It's crazy and it would be unsettling if you're a
- 4:34Speaker 2: player to get two phone calls in one day informing
- 4:37Speaker 2: you you've been moved. But I just don't see that
- 4:41Speaker 2: it's that big a deal as far as rule breaking
- 4:44Speaker 2: or anything like that. It's not.
- 4:46Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, it's just it be It would be weird
- 4:49Speaker 3: for the player and be like, oh, I got traded here,
- 4:51Speaker 3: and you call your parents and everyone and say, oh,
- 4:53Speaker 3: I'm going to the Blue just just kidding, I'm going
- 4:55Speaker 3: to the Twins or the Cubs. I mean, so it
- 4:58Speaker 3: would be it would just be different. Ken, what about
- 5:01Speaker 3: the Yankees new thing they sold? They gave a stake
- 5:04Speaker 3: to what is an Apollo Apollo private equity? Right, what
- 5:07Speaker 3: does this mean for the Yankees? I guess it got
- 5:09Speaker 3: rid of their debt? What did Apollo get back for this,
- 5:12Speaker 3: And why would the Yankees have to do this.
- 5:15Speaker 2: I don't know if they had to do it, But
- 5:16Speaker 2: what they wanted to do, from the reports that we're
- 5:19Speaker 2: seeing one in the Athletic and others, is restructure their
- 5:24Speaker 2: debt and pay off some of their debt. Refinance, restructure,
- 5:27Speaker 2: pay it off. So that's the goal here that they
- 5:30Speaker 2: wanted to do that. They've always had a stadium debt
- 5:33Speaker 2: that they've been concerned with, so this will help them
- 5:36Speaker 2: in that regard, and also it will help them in
- 5:38Speaker 2: what they are calling other ventures. I don't know what
- 5:41Speaker 2: that might be. The average fan is going to want
- 5:43Speaker 2: to know, and rightly so. Does this mean that the
- 5:46Speaker 2: Yankees will have a higher payroll or be able to
- 5:49Speaker 2: spend more Well, First of all, if a salary cap
- 5:51Speaker 2: is coming, then payrolls are going to be capped anyway.
- 5:55Speaker 2: But even if there is no salary cap, and I
- 5:57Speaker 2: frankly don't expect that there will be, I don't know
- 6:00Speaker 2: that how Steinbrunner is going to operate the team any
- 6:03Speaker 2: differently based on this private equity money. And what the
- 6:05Speaker 2: private equity firm gets is a steak in the franchise
- 6:10Speaker 2: that is worth gazillion dollars, and if the Yankees ever
- 6:13Speaker 2: get sold, they get a return on that.
- 6:18Speaker 1: Science experiment. For the one minute, we have to tell
- 6:20Speaker 1: you about why we love Quint's electrolytes, including watermelon salt,
- 6:24Speaker 1: raspberry salt. And I'm holding a citrus salt, just opened
- 6:27Speaker 1: it and I pour some powder into my water, shake
- 6:30Speaker 1: it up, and AJ, why do you love it?
- 6:32Speaker 3: I love Quints because after a long night out, a
- 6:34Speaker 3: long day at the gym, a long walk in this
- 6:36Speaker 3: Florida humidity, it tastes great and it gives me all
- 6:38Speaker 3: the electrolytes I need. Why sugar free Stevy, a free
- 6:43Speaker 3: Keto approve and taste sweet because of that delicious fermented rice.
- 6:49Speaker 1: It does taste really good. I'm drinking it right now
- 6:52Speaker 1: while we talking about it. It's also made in the USA,

- 7:17Speaker 4: Private equity has been in sports for a long time.
- 7:20Speaker 4: It's been it's in different different teams, the Red Sox.
- 7:23Speaker 4: I think it's probably what they were saying behind the Celtics,
- 7:26Speaker 4: you know, needing to sell players. Is the fear of
- 7:30Speaker 4: private equity coming into a large market like this something
- 7:35Speaker 4: that fans just in general need to be afraid of,
- 7:39Speaker 4: or is this just a Yankee fans aren't going to
- 7:41Speaker 4: notice anything different like you said, or are sports fans
- 7:45Speaker 4: need to be afraid of private equity in general, not
- 7:48Speaker 4: just with the Yankees.
- 7:50Speaker 2: Eric, I will say that I am not expert enough
- 7:53Speaker 2: to really know the answer to that. And we've seen
- 7:56Speaker 2: what private equity does to other businesses, of course, and
- 7:59Speaker 2: that can be debates the quality of that, whether it's
- 8:02Speaker 2: good or not. But I just don't know that in sports,
- 8:05Speaker 2: we've seen teams operate much differently. And again I'm speaking
- 8:10Speaker 2: as someone very unfamiliar with this whole thing, casual understanding
- 8:15Speaker 2: of it. So yes, it's been going on for a
- 8:19Speaker 2: while now, and certainly there are many teams with private
- 8:22Speaker 2: equity partners, but I don't know that it's affected the
- 8:26Speaker 2: team's operations dramatically.
- 8:30Speaker 1: One clarification here from Krafts, So actually the cap and
- 8:34Speaker 1: curtain and all this stuff that's involved with the NBA
- 8:37Speaker 1: is why the Celtics had to do that. I don't
- 8:39Speaker 1: think it had to do with the ownership of the team.
- 8:42Speaker 1: They literally couldn't keep all those players. That's what the
- 8:44Speaker 1: fight will be in the off season for baseball. But
- 8:47Speaker 1: one other note on this can on the private equity side.
- 8:50Speaker 1: The one thing we do know that goes on behind
- 8:52Speaker 1: the scenes with baseball a lot is why isn't my
- 8:55Speaker 1: team worth as much as this team in the NFL
- 8:57Speaker 1: or this team in the NBA. Franchisealuations and I know
- 9:01Speaker 1: your colleague EVANDRELA covered this a ton, So could there
- 9:04Speaker 1: be some fear that if entities take over that just
- 9:09Speaker 1: care about bottom line, you will have a deeper fight
- 9:13Speaker 1: with players versus owners because they're trying to sell these
- 9:16Speaker 1: things or have them increase value, not just have it
- 9:19Speaker 1: for fun.
- 9:20Speaker 2: As of right now, Scott, the private equity max is
- 9:23Speaker 2: fifteen percent of a franchise, So if you're fifteen percent,
- 9:27Speaker 2: you don't have a majority stake, and you only have
- 9:30Speaker 2: so much, say hel Steinbrenner is still the principal owner
- 9:33Speaker 2: of the Yankees. Nothing's going to change in that regard.
- 9:36Speaker 2: So again, I don't know how much fans should be
- 9:40Speaker 2: concerned about that. And as far as franchise values, the
- 9:43Speaker 2: fact that private equity is investing in franchises indicates that
- 9:48Speaker 2: maybe they believe a cap is coming and that franchise
- 9:51Speaker 2: values will be enhanced. I don't know how they can
- 9:53Speaker 2: count on that, or maybe they just believe baseball teams
- 9:56Speaker 2: are a good investment. Imagine that.
- 10:00Speaker 5: Baseball players aren't. Baseball teams are a bad investment?
- 10:02Speaker 3: Ken, Is that why guys are lining up to get
- 10:05Speaker 3: it to try to buy a team? I don't understand
- 10:08Speaker 3: why why people think it's a bad investment. But anyways, Ken,
- 10:13Speaker 3: what about the A's. They fired David Force the other day,
- 10:15Speaker 3: who'd been there forever. You know, he was not mentioned
- 10:18Speaker 3: in Moneyball at all because Billy Bean does everything?
- 10:20Speaker 5: Does this change anything with the A's.
- 10:23Speaker 2: Yes, it's going to change something when they get a
- 10:26Speaker 2: new head of base operations. Now who that person will
- 10:30Speaker 2: be we don't know yet, but it seems to me
- 10:33Speaker 2: from I understand here that they've created two years in
- 10:37Speaker 2: a row now and their owner John Fisher said, hey,
- 10:40Speaker 2: what are we doing now? There are reasons why they created.
- 10:43Speaker 2: They're playing in a minor league ballpark where the ball
- 10:45Speaker 2: flies and it's really hard to have pitching there succeed.
- 10:49Speaker 2: But that evidently is not what John Fisher is seeing
- 10:52Speaker 2: in total, and he's the owner, he has the right
- 10:55Speaker 2: to do whatever he wants. He hasn't really explained why
- 10:58Speaker 2: this move happened a mutual parting. We reported that it
- 11:02Speaker 2: was a firing and teams love their fancy language and
- 11:05Speaker 2: they love to make things look pretty. This wasn't pretty.
- 11:08Speaker 2: He was fired and David Forrest did have kind of
- 11:12Speaker 2: a mixed record there. Some of the trades weren't good Olsen.
- 11:16Speaker 2: They got Langoleer's back forth Chapman trade was not good
- 11:19Speaker 2: at all. The trade in which they parted with Sean
- 11:22Speaker 2: Murphy and only essentially got back as three RRE's not
- 11:26Speaker 2: a good trade. It looks like the Mason Miller trade
- 11:28Speaker 2: with Leo de Rees coming back will be a boon
- 11:32Speaker 2: for them. But like any GM, he had kind of
- 11:36Speaker 2: a mixed record, maybe even worse than most, but at
- 11:39Speaker 2: the same time. There are challenges with that franchise and
- 11:42Speaker 2: running that franchise in this no man's land that they're
- 11:46Speaker 2: in that go well beyond the head of base operations.
- 11:50Speaker 5: So what they want to.
- 11:51Speaker 2: Do is build up as they get into Las Vegas.
- 11:55Speaker 2: Twenty twenty eight is the timetable, and they want to
- 11:58Speaker 2: be a competitive team. By them, they were supposedly going
- 12:02Speaker 2: to start spending a little bit more money than they've
- 12:04Speaker 2: been spending. They were ramping up and have ramped up,
- 12:08Speaker 2: but not to the level that I initially reported that
- 12:10Speaker 2: they were projecting. So again, it always comes back to
- 12:14Speaker 2: the owner and it comes back to what his vision
- 12:17Speaker 2: of this is. They have had one of the smaller
- 12:19Speaker 2: front offices, smaller analytics teams in the game, and that's
- 12:23Speaker 2: going to have to be boosted up too. And whether
- 12:25Speaker 2: John Fisher wants to do that or not, whether he
- 12:27Speaker 2: likes it or not, that remains to be seen.
- 12:30Speaker 4: Is there an archetype? Is there a name or a
- 12:33Speaker 4: type of general manager from a certain team that you
- 12:37Speaker 4: think could possibly come in, somebody that can transition a
- 12:40Speaker 4: team from being terrible to a new city, Like you know,
- 12:45Speaker 4: is John Fisher a I'm going to get a veteran
- 12:48Speaker 4: GM now that I'm going to be this Las Vegas
- 12:50Speaker 4: baseball team, or is it you know, from more of
- 12:53Speaker 4: the small front office, small front office type of teams.
- 13:00Speaker 2: Expect that it would be a small market team. Perhaps
- 13:03Speaker 2: that produces the next head of base operations for the
- 13:05Speaker 2: Oakland or the Sacramento A's. Now, when you say a
- 13:10Speaker 2: small front office team, that is not necessarily going in
- 13:15Speaker 2: line with small markets. Some of the small market teams
- 13:17Speaker 2: have big front offices and lots of staff. Tampa Bay Cleveland,
- 13:21Speaker 2: I believe does not, maybe to the extent of Tampa Bay.
- 13:24Speaker 2: So that's not the thing. The thing is finding someone
- 13:29Speaker 2: who can run a team that is not going to
- 13:32Speaker 2: be at the level of the Yankees and Dodgers. Obviously,
- 13:34Speaker 2: even in a cap floor system. Even in a cap
- 13:37Speaker 2: floor system, you're going to need someone who is savvy
- 13:40Speaker 2: with the payroll. The a's in that system, like the
- 13:44Speaker 2: Guardians and like the Rays, and like all these other
- 13:46Speaker 2: teams that people think are all of a sudden going
- 13:48Speaker 2: to be rich, They're going to be still at the
- 13:50Speaker 2: bottom of the scale, most likely in payroll. And that's okay,
- 13:54Speaker 2: But if the system continues as it is, you're definitely
- 13:58Speaker 2: gonna want someone who manages a payroll efficiently and does
- 14:02Speaker 2: all of those things. And again they've had challenges there.
- 14:05Speaker 2: Free agent pitchers don't want to come there, even if
- 14:07Speaker 2: they want to spend money. So they created this mess
- 14:11Speaker 2: and now they've got to find a way out of it.
- 14:13Speaker 1: This is that time of year, aj it is Baseball's
- 14:16Speaker 1: time to shine, and it is sea Geek's time to
- 14:19Speaker 1: shine with MLB tickets and finding the best pricing, seating
- 14:24Speaker 1: and games that are even sold out available on sea geek.
- 14:29Speaker 3: Absolutely if you want to go to the biggest matchups
- 14:31Speaker 3: coming up. We have Yankees clubs coming up. Where's Yankees
- 14:34Speaker 3: red Sox? That means stuff. Again, there's some big moments
- 14:36Speaker 3: that are coming up here and the as the penachases
- 14:39Speaker 3: really heat up, go to seke can find those green
- 14:42Speaker 3: tickets with the best deals and get yourself out to
- 14:45Speaker 3: an MLB game.
- 14:46Speaker 1: Yeah, and they're straightforward with you. They will actually put
- 14:49Speaker 1: a red dot next to a ticket that they don't
- 14:52Speaker 1: feel is your best.
- 14:54Speaker 2: Look.
- 14:54Speaker 1: Green dot means very good code for you. It's territory.
- 14:59Speaker 1: Ten percent off your next set of MLB tickets at
- 15:02Speaker 1: sea Keek. That's ten percent off MLB tickets. When you
- 15:05Speaker 1: use the promo code Territory one zero, make sure you
- 15:08Speaker 1: click the link in the description to download the app
- 15:10Speaker 1: and have the code automatically added to your account so
- 15:13Speaker 1: you can use it later.
- 15:14Speaker 3: Ken, But they had a movie made about them. They
- 15:16Speaker 3: only need one person in the front office. Two people,
- 15:18Speaker 3: actually too. They only need Brad Pitt and Seth Rogan.
- 15:21Speaker 5: That's it, and the.
- 15:21Speaker 2: Obviously AJ David Force wasn't there. Then that was Paul
- 15:25Speaker 2: de Podesta, who is in the movie Yea, and that
- 15:29Speaker 2: was a different It wasn't a different group entirely, but
- 15:32Speaker 2: a lot of those guys have gone on to other things.
- 15:35Speaker 3: I know, they just need two people. Though the movie
- 15:37Speaker 3: they they put a they said that in that bad
- 15:40Speaker 3: movie that is Moneyball.
- 15:42Speaker 5: Ken, you wrote an article about go laugh. It's true.
- 15:44Speaker 3: It's terrible movie. They didn't include the twins who ended
- 15:47Speaker 3: all that crap.
- 15:47Speaker 2: So let's a book that didn't include that, and they
- 15:50Speaker 2: went based on the book. AJ. I know, I didn't
- 15:52Speaker 2: read the book because that's not the thing you do.
- 15:54Speaker 3: The book because I was on the team that ended
- 15:56Speaker 3: the winning streak and knocked them out of the playoffs,
- 15:58Speaker 3: so I didn't need to read that.
- 16:00Speaker 2: Omitted the contributions of Zito, Mulder and Hudson. That was
- 16:03Speaker 2: where it started.
- 16:04Speaker 5: That's fine, Ken whatever. I know you love moneyball.
- 16:06Speaker 3: So you wrote a story the other day about all
- 16:10Speaker 3: the Angels guys being on Trout's golf course. Now you
- 16:13Speaker 3: told me about it. I wasn't allowed to talk about
- 16:15Speaker 3: it until the article came out, so I didn't read
- 16:17Speaker 3: the article either, because you had already told me this story.
- 16:19Speaker 3: So can you elaborate a little bit. How one guy
- 16:22Speaker 3: was on the first hole, one guy was on the
- 16:23Speaker 3: twelfth hole, one guy was on the fourteenth hole.
- 16:26Speaker 2: Yes, this is for the people like AJ who don't read.
- 16:28Speaker 2: I will give it a bridge version of the story.
- 16:31Speaker 2: And what happened was Joe Adell told me Friday, as
- 16:34Speaker 2: I was preparing for the broadcast that when he got traded,
- 16:38Speaker 2: he was on whole number seven at Trout National. I said, Joe,
- 16:42Speaker 2: what are you talking about? And he said, we had
- 16:45Speaker 2: an outing and it was about a dozen of them
- 16:47Speaker 2: went on the off day on the East Coast. They
- 16:50Speaker 2: had it off day right before series against Baltimore. Took
- 16:53Speaker 2: a two hour drive the night before up to Trout's place,
- 16:56Speaker 2: stayed there, and then on deadline day had this outing,
- 17:00Speaker 2: which Trout had planned before he really realized that it
- 17:03Speaker 2: was going to be the trade deadline. So before they
- 17:06Speaker 2: even teed off, Brent Souder learned that he was traded
- 17:10Speaker 2: to the Atlanta Braves. Joe Adell on Whole seven goes
- 17:13Speaker 2: to the Cleveland Guardians, and then on Whole twelve or thirteen,
- 17:17Speaker 2: these guys weren't exactly clear. Ryan Zephyr John got the
- 17:20Speaker 2: word that he was going to the Chicago Cubs. And
- 17:23Speaker 2: then there was one more trade that occurred when the players,
- 17:27Speaker 2: some of them were going back to Trout's house in
- 17:30Speaker 2: a car, and that was Kirby Yates, and Kirby Yates
- 17:34Speaker 2: said he never even expected to get traded. He's thirty nine,
- 17:36Speaker 2: he's throwing ninety miles an hour. But the Pirates wanted him,
- 17:39Speaker 2: they got him, and that's how it went down. Now
- 17:41Speaker 2: people might say, well, where was Jose Soriano. He wasn't there.
- 17:45Speaker 2: He had stayed back in the hotel in Baltimore. He
- 17:48Speaker 2: is not a golfer.
- 17:52Speaker 1: Wow, okay, well maybe it actually helped for once to
- 17:55Speaker 1: not be a golfer and participating there so that you
- 17:57Speaker 1: weren't you know, flummixed on the course, a good story.
- 18:00Speaker 1: Check it out in the athletic a lot more there,
- 18:02Speaker 1: and then lastly, let's finish with the game coming up,
- 18:05Speaker 1: and we'll do more on the nitty gritty game wise
- 18:07Speaker 1: later this week.
- 18:08Speaker 2: But Brewers and Dodgers.
- 18:10Speaker 1: Meeting up, and where are these two teams at? I
- 18:13Speaker 1: will just put it there and let you run.
- 18:17Speaker 2: It's interesting with the Brewers. How last night they moved
- 18:20Speaker 2: both William Contreras and Christian Yeoitch down in the order.
- 18:23Speaker 2: It worked for them. Those guys have been struggling. The
- 18:25Speaker 2: Brewers are a team that have really yet to have
- 18:28Speaker 2: a dip this season. Now it might be coming. All
- 18:31Speaker 2: teams have it. The Dodgers are kind of going through
- 18:33Speaker 2: it right now, but they have played an exceedingly high
- 18:37Speaker 2: level even with some things that have gone against them
- 18:40Speaker 2: injury wise. They just keep it going right now. This
- 18:45Speaker 2: series could be an NLCS preview and NLCS rematch of
- 18:48Speaker 2: last year and then previewing this year, and it's going
- 18:51Speaker 2: to be really interesting to see just if the Dodgers
- 18:54Speaker 2: start to snap out of it now. Dave Roberts has
- 18:56Speaker 2: talked about them playing with more urgency, not trying just
- 19:00Speaker 2: kind of playing with a little bit more pep in
- 19:02Speaker 2: their step. Did it last night to a certain extent,
- 19:06Speaker 2: and then Diaz got to save, which was a good thing.
- 19:08Speaker 2: And Schooble against Kansas City was okay, not dominant Terrek scouble.
- 19:14Speaker 2: So they obviously have the talent. Snell is coming back tonight,
- 19:18Speaker 2: and they're excited about what lies ahead, but they are
- 19:22Speaker 2: not perfect. And amazingly enough, Terrek scoubel coming over.
- 19:27Speaker 6: Has not been unbelievably great and unbelievably important to the Dodgers,
- 19:33Speaker 6: because that's baseball, folks, and things don't always go the
- 19:37Speaker 6: way we think.
- 19:38Speaker 2: Yeah, Tennis, one player is, yeah.
- 19:41Speaker 3: A schoobl pitching Saturday. Is he lined up for Saturday
- 19:44Speaker 3: for Fox?
- 19:45Speaker 2: I'm not sure because they've been going with six and
- 19:49Speaker 2: he's lined up on one thing. I saw it's him,
- 19:52Speaker 2: But then Dave Roberts mentioned last night it's probably Sunday,
- 19:55Speaker 2: which would be five days rest instead of four, and
- 19:58Speaker 2: I kind of anticipate that's what the gonna do Sunday.
- 20:02Speaker 3: Unlucky Ken for once. Unlucky Kim. By the way, it
- 20:05Speaker 3: was Jonah Hill not so throwing the moneyball. I don't
- 20:07Speaker 3: want Jonah Hill and neither one who's now digging taekwondo
- 20:10Speaker 3: or something.
- 20:11Speaker 5: I don't want him to find me and beat you up.
- 20:12Speaker 5: So we're gonna have.
- 20:13Speaker 2: To We're gonna have to take either one of those guys.
- 20:16Speaker 5: No Ken, they he's taken jiu jitsu or something. I
- 20:19Speaker 5: don't know. I just probably could sit on them and
- 20:20Speaker 5: they probably would.
- 20:21Speaker 1: Yeah, you'd be good, aj I think you could take
- 20:24Speaker 1: either of them. I've seen their seen their strength and
- 20:27Speaker 1: measurables and enough movies. Ken, Thank you, we'll talk to
- 20:30Speaker 1: you later this week.
- 20:32Speaker 2: Thanks guys.
- 20:33Speaker 1: All right, so you can see Ken of course this weekend,
- 20:36Speaker 1: and that game we're talking about, we'll preview it a
- 20:38Speaker 1: little bit more later this week too. The Dodgers taking
- 20:41Speaker 1: on the Brewers.
- 20:41Speaker 2: There would be.
- 20:42Speaker 1: Plenty of attention on that one. It's on the Fox
- 20:45Speaker 1: one app. That's where you can get it. That's where
- 20:46Speaker 1: you can stream it at home or on the go,
- 20:48Speaker 1: live or on demand. Never miss a moment stream now.
