- 0:34SPEAKER_00: This is episode 44, and today we're going to be talking about three reasons you should join the Summer Creative Challenge.
- 0:42SPEAKER_00: You can find the post that accompanies this episode at Kent Sanders.net slash 2017 Summer Creative Challenge.
- 0:52SPEAKER_00: Do you ever feel like your New Year's goals are a distant memory by the time that summer gets here?
- 0:57SPEAKER_00: Well, I do too sometimes.
- 0:59SPEAKER_00: So guilty as charged.
- 1:00SPEAKER_00: There's been more than one summer in the past when I've resigned myself to failure and just said, eh, it's too late now.
- 1:07SPEAKER_00: Maybe I'll tackle that important creative project next year.
- 1:11SPEAKER_00: Well, if you can relate, I have a solution that you're gonna love, and that is the 2017 Summer Creative Challenge.
- 1:19SPEAKER_00: During the month of June, I'm hosting a 30-day challenge to help you tackle a major creative goal in your life.
- 1:25SPEAKER_00: And I've chosen the month of June for several reasons.
- 1:28SPEAKER_00: One, it's an even 30 days long, which is really handy and very convenient.
- 1:33SPEAKER_00: Two, July is a month when a lot of people take vacations, so July is not a good month.
- 1:37SPEAKER_00: And number three, the month of August is not good because that's when kids go to school and we're typically looking forward to fall activities.
- 1:46SPEAKER_00: So even though summer doesn't officially begin until June the 20th, I've chosen the month of June for this challenge because, well, it just kind of already feels like summer.
- 1:54SPEAKER_00: We just celebrated Memorial Day here in the U.S.
- 1:57SPEAKER_00: The kids are out of school here in Missouri, and it's just kind of a great month to do a challenge like this.
- 2:02SPEAKER_00: Well, the purpose of the Summer Creative Challenge is for you to decide on a creative goal and to make major progress toward achieving that goal during the month of June.
- 2:12SPEAKER_00: And this could be any goal that helps you achieve success in your creative life.
- 2:16SPEAKER_00: For example, my goal is to finish a first draft of my next book, which is called Born to Create.
- 2:23SPEAKER_00: Some other goals might include writing or recording music, eating healthy or exercising, starting a blog or a podcast, writing or outlining a book, writing a screenplay, taking a course, starting a business, or doing one of many, many other dozens of types of things that you could set as a creative goal for this challenge.
- 2:46SPEAKER_00: The point is to pick something that you can realistically do in thirty days.
- 2:50SPEAKER_00: And again, I think June is the perfect time to get back on track and make some meaningful progress toward this goal in your creative life.
- 2:57SPEAKER_00: But let me give you three concrete reasons to join the Summer Creative Challenge.
- 3:02SPEAKER_00: Number one is that you won't pay a dime.
- 3:05SPEAKER_00: This is completely free.
- 3:07SPEAKER_00: And in fact, not only is it free, but when you join, you'll get a free copy of my latest book, The Artist Suitcase, 26 Essentials for the Creative Journey.
- 3:17SPEAKER_00: Number two, you'll have the power of a community who is helping you achieve your creative goal.
- 3:23SPEAKER_00: The Summer Creative Challenge will take place strictly in our Born to Create Facebook group.
- 3:28SPEAKER_00: And that group is a lot of fun.
- 3:29SPEAKER_00: There's a lot of great people there.
- 3:31SPEAKER_00: And another cool thing about it is that I'm not going to be sending you any emails or anything like that.
- 3:35SPEAKER_00: This is strictly a Facebook group type of deal, so there's not going to be any emails that are clogging up your inbox.
- 3:41SPEAKER_00: And then number three, you'll get daily motivation to create.
- 3:46SPEAKER_00: I will act as your personal coach during the challenge, giving you some tips and encouragement to complete your goal.
- 3:53SPEAKER_00: Wouldn't you love to start the month of July knowing that you've made real progress toward your creative goals?
- 3:58SPEAKER_00: If so, I invite you to join the Summer Creative Challenge.
- 4:01SPEAKER_00: And here's how you do it.
- 4:02SPEAKER_00: It's two very simple things.
- 4:04SPEAKER_00: First is go to the Born to Create Facebook group and join that group.
- 4:08SPEAKER_00: And again, that is KentSanders.net slash Facebook Group.
- 4:13SPEAKER_00: And that link will redirect toward the actual Facebook group.
- 4:16SPEAKER_00: So go there, join the group, and I will approve you to join.
- 4:19SPEAKER_00: And then number two, once you're in the group, introduce yourself and describe what creative goal you're going to be working on during the month of June.
- 4:27SPEAKER_00: And very simply, that's it.
- 4:29SPEAKER_00: So don't let another summer slip away without taking the reins of your life and creating the life that you want.
- 4:36SPEAKER_00: Join the Summer Creative Challenge and let's work together to bring our best art into the world.
- 4:42SPEAKER_00: So, how could this challenge benefit you?
- 4:45SPEAKER_00: I'd love to hear your thoughts.
