- 0:00Speaker 1: This podcast is recorded on gadagl Land Always was, always
- 0:04Speaker 1: will be Aboriginal Land.
- 0:13Speaker 2: Paycheck so now and this is two broad chicks to
- 0:15Speaker 2: show that shares life lessons and tips to help make
- 0:17Speaker 2: you rich in life. And we're halfway through the year
- 0:22Speaker 2: June Favorites. I'm scared we have lived the exact amount
- 0:27Speaker 2: of time since Christmas that we will have to live
- 0:30Speaker 2: through to get to Christmas. Yeay, how good's that?
- 0:35Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 0:36Speaker 2: Like, I'm sorry, but once June's over, so is the year?
- 0:40Speaker 3: Yeah, because I'm so quick after Yeah, but.
- 0:43Speaker 2: This is only from like a selfish point of view,
- 0:45Speaker 2: because like, go on, Holli's for like a couple of weeks,
- 0:47Speaker 2: get back touly. August is always so busy for some reason,
- 0:53Speaker 2: because maybe because it's like one of the first months
- 0:55Speaker 2: after the financial year, and then once you get to October,
- 1:00Speaker 2: it's all done.
- 1:00Speaker 3: It's all over, Red Rover.
- 1:02Speaker 2: You got all the Halloween fun, Black Friday shoppies in November,
- 1:07Speaker 2: but like for me, Christmas starts in November. First of November.
- 1:10Speaker 2: Trees up, you know, yeah, I mean are away.
- 1:14Speaker 3: The trees are up.
- 1:15Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, the pumpkins died to fertilize the soil and
- 1:21Speaker 2: give way too laquismuth point the circle of life. I
- 1:26Speaker 2: can't worried. I'm ready, but.
- 1:28Speaker 3: Yeah, we've got our June favorites already, absolutely wild. What's
- 1:32Speaker 3: your first one?
- 1:32Speaker 2: My first favorite is one of those like kind of
- 1:36Speaker 2: boring but pays itself off over the years that you're like,
- 1:39Speaker 2: I love this purchases and it's brown towels. So we
- 1:46Speaker 2: recently went to Adairs and I got the shoppies and
- 1:48Speaker 2: Adairs and I ended up buying all these brown, gorgeous
- 1:52Speaker 2: towels because I got brown sheets a couple weeks ago,
- 1:57Speaker 2: I would say, maybe two months ago, and I was like,
- 2:00Speaker 2: why did this take so long? Because regardless of how
- 2:03Speaker 2: much IPS wash off my fake tan, somehow that girl'll
- 2:07Speaker 2: still be rubbing up and around on shit. And like,
- 2:10Speaker 2: no matter how much I think I've washed off all
- 2:12Speaker 2: of my makeup, whenever I like wipe my face on
- 2:15Speaker 2: my towel, She's still there. It's like that, whenever you
- 2:18Speaker 2: need me, I'll be there, like everywhere, and I'm like,
- 2:23Speaker 2: what anyway? And but then once I get like the
- 2:25Speaker 2: tiniest smidge of makeup on a towel or fake tanel
- 2:28Speaker 2: towel hate it. Don't use that towel anymore.
- 2:30Speaker 3: It's dirty.
- 2:31Speaker 2: It's dirty.
- 2:32Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:33Speaker 2: Anyway, brown towels and brown sheets are the life hack
- 2:36Speaker 2: of the century because you can't get fake tan or
- 2:39Speaker 2: makeup stains on them.
- 2:40Speaker 3: Yeah, you can't say shit, you can't.
- 2:42Speaker 2: See anything on them, and they're just pretty as well.
- 2:45Speaker 2: Like I'm a chocolate brown apologist. I want everything in
- 2:49Speaker 2: my house to be chocolate brown.
- 2:52Speaker 3: Because it's warm and cozy. Because when I first moved out,
- 2:55Speaker 3: I had that same philosophy, but it was like at
- 2:58Speaker 3: the time, what was in vogue was dark gray.
- 3:01Speaker 2: Yeah. Well I we have millennial gray, and I think
- 3:04Speaker 2: we now have jen Z brown.
- 3:06Speaker 3: Yeah, like, and I feel like, at least brown.
- 3:10Speaker 2: Brown is so nice. But I think brown was like
- 3:11Speaker 2: this natural evolution from beige and it's like a deeper,
- 3:14Speaker 2: richer undertone of that because it's all kind of a
- 3:16Speaker 2: bit more warm. But yeah, and it is so good.
- 3:21Speaker 2: I love them, and I ended up just like grabbing
- 3:24Speaker 2: a bunch of them. I still use like old towels
- 3:27Speaker 2: and stuff like that. Obviously, you know how you have
- 3:30Speaker 2: to have some towers for just the shit, like you're like, oh,
- 3:35Speaker 2: got to take the cat to the vet. Get the
- 3:36Speaker 2: old town exactly. The old towel is like a spirit,
- 3:41Speaker 2: you know, get the old towel. Don't use no, don't
- 3:44Speaker 2: use that towel on the floor. Use the old town.
- 3:46Speaker 3: Use the old to don't wash the bowcony.
- 3:49Speaker 2: With the good tows use the old towels. And then also,
- 3:52Speaker 2: like you can donate old towels that aren't any good
- 3:55Speaker 2: to shelters or pet stores or anything like that. The vet,
- 3:59Speaker 2: yeah like that, and they are just so comfy and
- 4:05Speaker 2: cozy and sal got me onto these things that they're
- 4:08Speaker 2: not bath towels. They're bath sheets, and they're like all
- 4:14Speaker 2: I can tell is the fact that they're just bigger
- 4:16Speaker 2: than a normal towel. But given that it's winter in
- 4:19Speaker 2: Australia and I need like a cozy, fluffy thing to
- 4:22Speaker 2: like wrap me up, I'm a baby being spottled.
- 4:26Speaker 3: Game changer, it's the best. Yeah, you need like the
- 4:30Speaker 3: bath sheet to dry your body and then you have
- 4:33Speaker 3: the bath towel to wrap your hair. That's my philosophy
- 4:36Speaker 3: for life.
- 4:37Speaker 2: Yeah. I didn't go that deep into me. I just said, well,
- 4:39Speaker 2: it's a bit of both. I just used robstowel to
- 4:41Speaker 2: like wrap my hair and then I just put it
- 4:43Speaker 2: back and he's like, did you use my town?
- 4:45Speaker 3: And I'm like what me, No, you just mustn't have
- 4:46Speaker 3: hung it up properly. Still wet.
- 4:48Speaker 2: Yeah, just lighting my boyfriend like he literally knows he
- 4:53Speaker 2: doesn't care.
- 4:53Speaker 3: Yeah, that's my monthly favorite guest, lighting your boyfriend.
- 4:58Speaker 2: But yeah, I'm herb cessed.
- 5:01Speaker 3: Yeah about thirties.
- 5:05Speaker 2: It's just so nice being able to get in my
- 5:08Speaker 2: bed what I've got the brown sheets on and not
- 5:10Speaker 2: have to stress about like getting any fake tan stains
- 5:13Speaker 2: on them. And I know this is such like a
- 5:15Speaker 2: minimal problem, but like it's just so good. And even
- 5:19Speaker 2: the towels, like I rub my face all up in it. Yeah,
- 5:22Speaker 2: no makeup on it. I'm sure there probably was, but
- 5:25Speaker 2: I can't see it. And that is perfect for me.
- 5:29Speaker 2: Brown towels, stunning.
- 5:32Speaker 3: Love that. Okay. My June favorite is a new creator
- 5:38Speaker 3: that I stumbled.
- 5:39Speaker 2: Stumbled and bubbled skipping and jump stumble.
- 5:42Speaker 3: And bumble stumble and bubbled upon on TikTok and her
- 5:46Speaker 3: username is plo wrong. But she has this series called
- 5:51Speaker 3: Mister and Missus questions you probably haven't heard before. Shut up,
- 5:55Speaker 3: have you seen that?
- 5:56Speaker 4: No?
- 5:56Speaker 2: But I'm so into it. Wait is this was this
- 6:00Speaker 2: inspired by our conversation the other day about how when
- 6:02Speaker 2: you've been friends with someone for ten years and you
- 6:05Speaker 2: start like asking questions.
- 6:09Speaker 3: Questions like giving you a worm stuck in soil, would
- 6:12Speaker 3: you prefer to live underground or on top of the flowers?
- 6:15Speaker 2: When you're going to a table and there's six chairs,
- 6:17Speaker 2: two on each side and one at the top of
- 6:19Speaker 2: the tail, which chair do you choose?
- 6:22Speaker 3: Yeah? Literally, I think my phone is eavesdropping, and it
- 6:25Speaker 3: was like, here you go, bitch, Yeah, exactly what you want.
- 6:29Speaker 2: It gave you these questions for us, not for your
- 6:32Speaker 2: seventeen year hundred relationship.
- 6:34Speaker 3: Absolutely, And that's what I was going to say, because
- 6:36Speaker 3: I think mister and missus questions is like an old
- 6:39Speaker 3: school term from back in the day. It's like a
- 6:42Speaker 3: game or something maybe something that people used to play
- 6:45Speaker 3: it like hens nights and stuff back.
- 6:47Speaker 2: In the day.
- 6:48Speaker 3: But really, I do think that these questions can be
- 6:51Speaker 3: applied to any sort of romantic relationship, but also to
- 6:54Speaker 3: friendships like your workmates, people and your family, because it's
- 6:57Speaker 3: basically just really red them questions that make you think,
- 7:03Speaker 3: also kind of test how much you know about each other.
- 7:06Speaker 3: But then also learn more about each other as well, because.
- 7:08Speaker 2: We used to play Flex. Mammy used to have this
- 7:12Speaker 2: conversation card game. I think she still does. I'm not
- 7:14Speaker 2: sure if she still does the shop anymore, but it
- 7:16Speaker 2: was called Reflex and you and I loved those cards
- 7:20Speaker 2: and wild always hate them on holidays. But then we
- 7:21Speaker 2: ended up doing yeah exactly right now we run out
- 7:25Speaker 2: of questions. Okay, do you have some questions?
- 7:27Speaker 3: Yeah? I do, so I thought we could play, Yeah, kay,
- 7:30Speaker 3: who likes their favorite planet the most?
- 7:33Speaker 2: Oh, it's in like out of us two?
- 7:37Speaker 3: Probably you.
- 7:38Speaker 2: What's your favorite planet?
- 7:39Speaker 3: I think one's stupid. Oh what's yours?
- 7:43Speaker 2: I think? Well it was Pluto.
- 7:48Speaker 3: I still count Pluto, I don't I hate Like.
- 7:51Speaker 2: The first thing that popped into my mind was Venus.
- 7:54Speaker 3: Venus is sexy, yeah.
- 7:55Speaker 2: Because Venus is just like a little slut, Like Venus
- 7:59Speaker 2: is a sludy planet. Satin is like.
- 8:02Speaker 3: A broh really.
- 8:04Speaker 2: Yeah, I see Satin as like. But also Mars gives
- 8:07Speaker 2: bro energy.
- 8:08Speaker 3: Because I always think of sale Mars from Salemon and
- 8:12Speaker 3: she I always.
- 8:13Speaker 2: See Mars is like the god of war as well,
- 8:16Speaker 2: So like that's where I get like jock energy. And
- 8:21Speaker 2: then yah, Satin is kind of like a bit lack
- 8:25Speaker 2: of ARTZI like as an O's ring kind of vibe
- 8:32Speaker 2: who else is?
- 8:34Speaker 3: Who else is? Yeah?
- 8:36Speaker 2: But Venus, Venus is a sloody planet, and I like that.
- 8:40Speaker 3: I like that. Okay, who has better luck using claw machines?
- 8:44Speaker 4: Me?
- 8:46Speaker 2: Yeah, But I don't think that is a lack of
- 8:49Speaker 2: ability on either end. I think it's an over presence
- 8:53Speaker 2: of competitiveness on my end that I like, will fight
- 8:58Speaker 2: ananimate object. For if I kicked my toe, I hit
- 9:01Speaker 2: the thing back, you know, I'm like, come here.
- 9:05Speaker 3: Yeah, I would have to agree.
- 9:06Speaker 2: I hit my laptop the other day. I gave it
- 9:08Speaker 2: a smack on the mousepad because it was kept bucking up,
- 9:10Speaker 2: and then I was like, probably shouldn't do that. Yeah, Literally,
- 9:12Speaker 2: it wasn't my fault. I was I was channeling my
- 9:14Speaker 2: inner Mars planet.
- 9:18Speaker 3: Okay. Who would be most likely to stay on a
- 9:20Speaker 3: scam call because they feel bad interrupting the.
- 9:23Speaker 2: You not like, I don't think you'd go to once
- 9:29Speaker 2: you figured out that they're a scam. You really don't
- 9:31Speaker 2: like things like that, so you'd be like goodbye.
- 9:34Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 9:35Speaker 2: Yeah, but if you really thought it was genuine, if
- 9:38Speaker 2: you really thought it was like calls you from a Yeah,
- 9:43Speaker 2: like that's just their job to do cold calls.
- 9:46Speaker 3: Because I've been there and I've been on that. That's cold. Sorry,
- 9:50Speaker 3: I don't think it's to be people to see. I
- 9:52Speaker 3: love this by the way. Yeah, it's so fun. This
- 9:55Speaker 3: one's so easy as well. Actually, who is least likely
- 9:58Speaker 3: to remember the rules of a car game they heard
- 10:00Speaker 3: four minutes before me? Yes, but yeah, it's so so fun.
- 10:07Speaker 3: I definitely recommend following her because she's done like a
- 10:10Speaker 3: few different parts of this game. But Chris and I
- 10:13Speaker 3: have been playing it like before bed if I see
- 10:15Speaker 3: it pop up. But we also were playing it in
- 10:17Speaker 3: the car the other day and then we just started
- 10:19Speaker 3: making up our own so we were playing one. And
- 10:24Speaker 3: you can play it now too.
- 10:25Speaker 2: Oh okay.
- 10:27Speaker 3: If you had to. He gave me like five genres
- 10:31Speaker 3: and he was like, you can only keep two and
- 10:33Speaker 3: then the rest disappear forever.
- 10:36Speaker 2: For like the entire world, or just for me, for
- 10:39Speaker 2: the entire world.
- 10:40Speaker 3: So it's like, you don't they don't even exist.
- 10:43Speaker 2: Yeah, they've been a race. Yeah, there've been men in
- 10:45Speaker 2: Blackfoot globally.
- 10:46Speaker 3: Exactly, So I'm trying to remember exactly what they were,
- 10:49Speaker 3: but it was sitcom, musical, slash, Disney, fantasy, oh, drama okay,
- 11:03Speaker 3: And then I think the last one was sport, and
- 11:06Speaker 3: I can keep three, you can only keep two.
- 11:10Speaker 2: I think, oh, well, I'm getting rid of drama in Sport. Yeah.
- 11:13Speaker 3: Yeah, drama was the one that I got rid of
- 11:15Speaker 3: as well.
- 11:16Speaker 2: And then it's sitcom, Disney, musical or fantasy. So when
- 11:23Speaker 2: you're saying genre, are we saying like all forms of
- 11:27Speaker 2: like books as well for the movie about movies and TV?
- 11:37Speaker 3: That sucks. See, it's fucking odd.
- 11:46Speaker 2: I'll keep fantasy and sitcoms. Oh you get rid of Disney,
- 11:52Speaker 2: you dog you.
- 11:54Speaker 3: I know I would have thought you would have got
- 11:56Speaker 3: rid of sitcoms for sure.
- 11:58Speaker 2: See I've learned some watch about you. I don't know
- 12:01Speaker 2: if I actually am standing by that. Now I'm really
- 12:04Speaker 2: second guessing. Now I feel like I should put Disney,
- 12:06Speaker 2: but that means you would never get to watch a
- 12:07Speaker 2: little more Maid ever, I know. But then I'm like,
- 12:10Speaker 2: there are some like, there are some sitcoms that I'm like,
- 12:13Speaker 2: y'all really got me through some hard.
- 12:15Speaker 3: I know, That's what I was thinking. And because CRUs
- 12:18Speaker 3: was like, if I didn't pick three, well, you can
- 12:20Speaker 3: pick three.
- 12:21Speaker 2: Okay, cool, So i'd pick sitcoms. Typically it's been like's ruled.
- 12:31Speaker 4: Yeah, I love that. Okay.
- 12:53Speaker 2: My next favorite is this product that's been going absolutely
- 12:56Speaker 2: viral at the moment, and it is.
- 12:58Speaker 3: The Lush Massage. Has this hit your FYP yet?
- 13:02Speaker 5: No?
- 13:02Speaker 2: Oh my Lush God.
- 13:04Speaker 3: I love Lush.
- 13:07Speaker 2: Like I reckon. If someone said you can only pick
- 13:10Speaker 2: one shop to get all of your body care from
- 13:12Speaker 2: for the rest of your life, Lush would be up there. Yeah,
- 13:16Speaker 2: Lush would be way up there, like one brand. You
- 13:18Speaker 2: can't pick up Chemists Warehouse and cheat and be like
- 13:21Speaker 2: yeah exactly.
- 13:21Speaker 3: That's like when people say that if they got a
- 13:24Speaker 3: magic genie, they would wish for one hundred more wishes.
- 13:27Speaker 2: I mean I would give that a crack. I'm not
- 13:29Speaker 2: gonna lie it. I would be like, yeah, I'll be like,
- 13:32Speaker 2: all right, I'll give you a good deal. You give
- 13:34Speaker 2: me fifty more wishes, I'll give you the other fifty.
- 13:36Speaker 3: Yeah. You'd be a Laddin sneaking, sneaking out of the cave.
- 13:39Speaker 3: No more freebie.
- 13:40Speaker 2: Yeah. Okay, So the Lush Massage bar has gone absolutely virals.
- 13:44Speaker 2: My favorite thing about this product is it's twenty one dollars.
- 13:48Speaker 2: It's so affordable and essentially it's this massage bar that
- 13:52Speaker 2: you run over your body. The one that's gone viral
- 13:55Speaker 2: is Coconut Drench and this is the most hydrating massage
- 13:59Speaker 2: bar in the range. But they have multiple massage bars
- 14:02Speaker 2: in like different like sense, so they have ones that
- 14:05Speaker 2: are like lavender to kind of help you go to sleep,
- 14:08Speaker 2: or another one that's quite popular is Chimeric Tumeric Latte,
- 14:12Speaker 2: which is like a warming tonic and velvet vanilla scent
- 14:15Speaker 2: which is like really lovely for winter or cozy vibes.
- 14:19Speaker 2: And then my personal favorite is After, which is a
- 14:22Speaker 2: cooling peppermint and magnesium and it helps with like saw muscles,
- 14:26Speaker 2: but I also just love peppermint and like the tingly
- 14:30Speaker 2: cooling sensation of peppermint. And it's like a hydrating body
- 14:34Speaker 2: bar that you kind of run it over your body
- 14:36Speaker 2: and then rub it in massage and it absorbs into
- 14:38Speaker 2: your skin and it just smells incredible ten out of ten,
- 14:42Speaker 2: no notes, and just feels so good and I really
- 14:46Speaker 2: feel like it gives my skin like a big drink
- 14:48Speaker 2: of water and your skin just looks so lush.
- 14:53Speaker 3: I was gonna ask a dumb question, what's a massage bar?
- 14:56Speaker 3: It looks soap, It looks.
- 14:58Speaker 2: Like a soap, yeah, but it's you don't use it
- 15:00Speaker 2: in the shower, use it when you get out of.
- 15:02Speaker 3: The shower, and it's for like moisturized yes, So you
- 15:05Speaker 3: just get.
- 15:05Speaker 2: It and you go and soaks into it and then
- 15:08Speaker 2: it kind of like leaves a little bit of a
- 15:10Speaker 2: residue on your skin and then you kind of do
- 15:12Speaker 2: a little rubber tub rub tub.
- 15:14Speaker 3: So when do you use it? Do you use it
- 15:16Speaker 3: in a similar way to a body oil when you
- 15:17Speaker 3: get out of the shower, a little bit damp and
- 15:19Speaker 3: the yeah, yeah.
- 15:20Speaker 2: Which like each to their own. Maybe some use it
- 15:22Speaker 2: on completely dry skin. But I like to put my
- 15:24Speaker 2: hydrating products when I get out of the shower onto
- 15:26Speaker 2: damp per skin because it helps hydrate it a little
- 15:29Speaker 2: bit quicker.
- 15:31Speaker 3: Well, I think that is people often say that even
- 15:33Speaker 3: with using like hyaluronic acid on your face, right, like
- 15:36Speaker 3: you should it should be a little bit damp because
- 15:38Speaker 3: it helps like soak in the moisture or something. Yeah. Oh,
- 15:41Speaker 3: I like the sound of so good.
- 15:43Speaker 2: I reckon I could give you like at least seven
- 15:45Speaker 2: products that everyone should buy from Lush, but I want
- 15:49Speaker 2: to hear other people's too, so drop that in the comments.
- 15:51Speaker 3: Yeah please, Now I'm just thinking of snow Fairy.
- 15:56Speaker 2: Oh.
- 15:56Speaker 3: I have the limited edition one they do at Christmas time. God,
- 15:59Speaker 3: it's good. That's when you know the festive season truly begins.
- 16:03Speaker 3: And every time you wear that or use that, I
- 16:05Speaker 3: always get a compliment from someone.
- 16:07Speaker 2: I also love the scent from Lush that comes out
- 16:10Speaker 2: at Christmas called Yognog. Yeah, the horrible name, horrible name.
- 16:15Speaker 3: I think we've had that, the.
- 16:17Speaker 2: Horrible name Yognog, But that's okay, terrible name, fabulous sense.
- 16:25Speaker 3: It's so good. It can have a bit of a
- 16:27Speaker 3: hair out name.
- 16:28Speaker 2: And I just really like them as a brand.
- 16:30Speaker 3: Yeah, me too, Yeah too, Okay. My next June favorite
- 16:34Speaker 3: is inspired by a post I saw on Instagram from
- 16:36Speaker 3: an account called Fashion New York, and they shared a
- 16:40Speaker 3: post about how wearing rings on each of your different
- 16:43Speaker 3: fingers has different meanings, and I was like, oh my god,
- 16:48Speaker 3: I love this shit.
- 16:51Speaker 2: Yeah, you're like, I'm locked in.
- 16:52Speaker 3: Yeah, anything that's like a little whimsical where this represents
- 16:58Speaker 3: blah blair to me, I love that.
- 17:01Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 17:01Speaker 3: And because I was like, oh, well, of.
- 17:02Speaker 2: Course you're fine, yeah, and playing it's just playing. It's playful.
- 17:08Speaker 3: Yeah. And I also really like it because I was like, oh, yeah,
- 17:12Speaker 3: I'm very curious to see what each of the different
- 17:15Speaker 3: fingers and the rings represent because obviously we a lot
- 17:20Speaker 3: of us would associate wearing like your wearing a wedding
- 17:23Speaker 3: ring on your left hand on your ring finger. But
- 17:26Speaker 3: I was like, I had no idea that there was
- 17:28Speaker 3: more than just that. So I'll run through. So on
- 17:33Speaker 3: your thumb, that's the finger of power. Yeah, it was
- 17:38Speaker 3: a power. It was a symbol of strength, presence, and authority.
- 17:43Speaker 3: Then your index finger, your pointer finger is the signature,
- 17:47Speaker 3: a symbol of those who had a voice in the world.
- 17:50Speaker 3: Then the middle finger, that's the finger of balance.
- 17:56Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, give the finger to someone and excuse me.
- 18:00Speaker 2: I'm like, I'm just embracing balance.
- 18:02Speaker 3: Exactly, so that has no traditions or rules. And wearing
- 18:05Speaker 3: a ring.
- 18:05Speaker 2: Do you reckon you've given the finger to anyone in
- 18:07Speaker 2: like the last like ten years, genuinely, yes.
- 18:11Speaker 3: Really, yes, I've been with you and we've had people
- 18:15Speaker 3: yell at us from a car and I'm always like, fucked.
- 18:27Speaker 2: I like it.
- 18:27Speaker 3: Flipping the bow, flipping the bar, the bles.
- 18:33Speaker 2: What's bring that back?
- 18:34Speaker 3: No words, just fingers, I think. So, yeah, it says
- 18:37Speaker 3: a finger says that. Okay, Yeah, so you're your middle finger.
- 18:44Speaker 3: So that's the finger of balance. It has no traditional rules.
- 18:47Speaker 3: And wearing a ring here was a choice made purely
- 18:50Speaker 3: for oneself.
- 18:51Speaker 2: Love that independent coin.
- 18:54Speaker 3: So then your ring finger. So do you know why
- 18:57Speaker 3: people wear their wedding ring finger on their left hand?
- 19:00Speaker 3: I do not on their ring finger. So apparently your
- 19:04Speaker 3: ring finger is where promises live. So the ancient Romans
- 19:08Speaker 3: believed a vein ran directly from this finger to the
- 19:12Speaker 3: heart the vena amorus. So that's why it's reserved for
- 19:16Speaker 3: love that was meant to last. How cute is that?
- 19:19Speaker 2: Is really beautiful? I do love that. I do love that.
- 19:23Speaker 2: What about the pinky?
- 19:24Speaker 3: So the pinky last, but not least. The pinky is
- 19:27Speaker 3: the pluto of the hand. They don't you reckon?
- 19:29Speaker 2: She's cute. She's a cutey girl.
- 19:31Speaker 3: It's a cuty girl. So your pinky is a quiet
- 19:34Speaker 3: declaration worn to on a family memory and lineage. Yeah,
- 19:39Speaker 3: so I was like, maybe that's why you see quite
- 19:42Speaker 3: a few people wearing like little signet rings on their pinkies,
- 19:45Speaker 3: Like you know the clatter ring. Yes, I want to
- 19:47Speaker 3: get one of those. I feel like we both should
- 19:50Speaker 3: with like our Irish heritage.
- 19:53Speaker 2: And I'm running out of fingers at this it got
- 19:56Speaker 2: too many rings.
- 19:57Speaker 3: Yeah, but I was like, I love that because not
- 20:00Speaker 3: only for myself because we both love wearing jewelry and
- 20:03Speaker 3: rings especially, but also when you're buying gifts for people
- 20:07Speaker 3: and like having that extra layer of meaning for the
- 20:09Speaker 3: piece of jewelry and why a you're giving it to somebody,
- 20:12Speaker 3: I was like, so cute. But I did also want
- 20:15Speaker 3: to mention some of my favorite like whimsical jewelry brands
- 20:19Speaker 3: if you are looking to branch out and invest in
- 20:22Speaker 3: some new rings and jewelry, and all of these brands
- 20:26Speaker 3: are ones that I feel like I are inspired by
- 20:28Speaker 3: history and feel quite whimsical because I felt like this
- 20:31Speaker 3: post was giving like ancient artifacts and Jewelryes's.
- 20:35Speaker 2: Psycheological dig of shopping exactly.
- 20:38Speaker 3: That's a vibe. So my first one is Cleopatra's Bling.
- 20:42Speaker 3: We're both big fans of them. So they do a
- 20:44Speaker 3: lot of hand crafted, ornate pieces of jewelry that really
- 20:48Speaker 3: look like they should belong in a museum. I'm like,
- 20:50Speaker 3: we both have one of their pinky rings, which is
- 20:52Speaker 3: really really beautiful, And yeah, they do a lot of
- 20:55Speaker 3: really incredible rings, but really amazing pendance too that literally
- 20:58Speaker 3: look like their ancient pieces of jewelry. Temple of the
- 21:02Speaker 3: Sun as well, that's another modern jewelry brand that's heavily
- 21:06Speaker 3: influenced by history. Both of those brands do have a
- 21:09Speaker 3: mix of solid gold or plated pieces, depending on what
- 21:12Speaker 3: you want and what your budget. But I've had like
- 21:15Speaker 3: a lot of their plated pieces in the past and
- 21:17Speaker 3: have worn them for years, and I find that they're
- 21:19Speaker 3: really good quality and liked stand the test of time.
- 21:23Speaker 3: And then last but not lace. We've mentioned them on
- 21:25Speaker 3: the show before, but Mountain and Moon so very cool
- 21:28Speaker 3: chunky statement pieces, and every single time either of us
- 21:31Speaker 3: wear them, we always get a comment like, they you
- 21:34Speaker 3: the sort of pieces of jewelry that you wear and
- 21:36Speaker 3: you could be wearing like an all black outfit, and
- 21:39Speaker 3: then that jewelry just is cherry and yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 21:42Speaker 3: cool girl factor, cool girl yeap love.
- 21:46Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 22:05Speaker 3: What's your next favorite?
- 22:06Speaker 2: Okay, my next favorite is actually a favorite that has
- 22:12Speaker 2: been a favorite for a while, which I kind of
- 22:15Speaker 2: like because I think sometimes when we do these episodes.
- 22:17Speaker 2: I'm like, Okay, what's happened this month? What have I
- 22:19Speaker 2: done this month? And I'm like, what's my favorite from
- 22:21Speaker 2: this month? But I'm like, what are the long term
- 22:23Speaker 2: favorites that maybe we haven't discussed or maybe to rediscuss.
- 22:28Speaker 2: And it's basically a camera hacked to always take a
- 22:31Speaker 2: good pick. So this we spoke about years ago. And
- 22:35Speaker 2: I'm like, I know a lot of girls are going
- 22:37Speaker 2: on holidays, and I also just think I've recently seen
- 22:42Speaker 2: a real lack of selfies from everyone on the internet.
- 22:46Speaker 2: So true, and we need to bring back the selfie
- 22:51Speaker 2: we do.
- 22:51Speaker 3: We have lost the art of the selfie.
- 22:54Speaker 2: I want to see the girl is on my feed
- 22:57Speaker 2: feeling themselves. I don't like, you know how there's all
- 23:01Speaker 2: this candid and the moving car photos. I love them,
- 23:06Speaker 2: but I just want you to pout in front of
- 23:08Speaker 2: a white wall. I want to feel you feeling yourself.
- 23:11Speaker 3: And be like, I looked pretty in this one. Yeah,
- 23:15Speaker 3: that's what Chris and I always say, We go, I
- 23:17Speaker 3: look pretty in this front. That's exactly what you're telling
- 23:21Speaker 3: the world.
- 23:21Speaker 4: Like, do you know.
- 23:22Speaker 2: What one of the best parts of Christmas Day was
- 23:25Speaker 2: in like twenty and sixteen was every girl get in
- 23:30Speaker 2: on their Instagram with their Christmas Day selfie.
- 23:33Speaker 3: Oh what a gift. Absolutely, what a gift in some
- 23:37Speaker 3: iteration of a white red or maybe a metallic outfit exactly.
- 23:41Speaker 2: And so I just think we need to lock back
- 23:43Speaker 2: into taking selfies because we've all stopped taking selfies. And
- 23:47Speaker 2: as much as yes, we will take photos of our
- 23:49Speaker 2: friends and we get the candid picks, I want some
- 23:51Speaker 2: selfies back. I want to see that arm up there right.
- 23:54Speaker 3: I thought twenty sixteen was back.
- 23:55Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly, lock back in, get to work. So if
- 23:59Speaker 2: you want to take a hot selfie, because I've been there.
- 24:02Speaker 2: Sometimes when you take a photo and you go to
- 24:04Speaker 2: your camera roll and the photo you're like, damn, yes,
- 24:07Speaker 2: this looks good. Then you go to your camera roll
- 24:09Speaker 2: and you're like, what happened? Like did I drop the phone?
- 24:12Speaker 2: Why do I look like Shrek?
- 24:13Speaker 3: How did this?
- 24:14Speaker 2: What caused this misalignment in the universe? Right? Anyway, So
- 24:19Speaker 2: you have one setting to turn on, and I promise
- 24:21Speaker 2: you all of them buyer. So you go to your
- 24:24Speaker 2: settings and you turn on mirror front camera, and then
- 24:29Speaker 2: you get exactly the photo you saw in that screen.
- 24:33Speaker 2: There's no confusion. There's no ability for you to go
- 24:36Speaker 2: what happened?
- 24:37Speaker 3: That was crazy?
- 24:38Speaker 2: No flippy dippy, No flippy dippy, because the inverted the
- 24:41Speaker 2: inverted thing is what wigs it out and you go,
- 24:44Speaker 2: who is that?
- 24:45Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 24:46Speaker 2: I have never met that person in my life.
- 24:48Speaker 3: Yeah, who's that girl? I say, steering straight back at me.
- 24:50Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 24:51Speaker 2: And so that is like one of my favorite hacks ever.
- 24:55Speaker 2: And the other day I was like, why do I
- 24:58Speaker 2: hate these selfies? Whent and this edding was turned off
- 25:02Speaker 2: so like from I don't know, maybe from an update
- 25:04Speaker 2: or getting a new phone or whatever, because I hadn't
- 25:06Speaker 2: been between selfies, I know. And then yeah, and I
- 25:11Speaker 2: was like, let's get that bitch back on, I know,
- 25:14Speaker 2: to see these selfies. More selfies.
- 25:18Speaker 3: We used to fucking love.
- 25:19Speaker 2: We took so many selfies we take no frontal lobe
- 25:24Speaker 2: things can bring it back, I don't know, more selfies
- 25:30Speaker 2: in twenty twenty six, twenty twenty six years the selfie
- 25:33Speaker 2: let's go. Okay, I get, I get. There's still I'm
- 25:36Speaker 2: not saying we erase the other picks either. By the way,
- 25:38Speaker 2: I'm not saying we stopped doing the outfit picks. I'm
- 25:41Speaker 2: not saying we stopped doing the candid moving digital camera vibes.
- 25:47Speaker 2: Just more selfies. You increase our output, not take us away.
- 25:51Speaker 3: Yeah, okay, now I like that.
- 25:52Speaker 2: Yep.
- 25:53Speaker 3: I'll add one more thing that we need in to
- 25:56Speaker 3: bring back in twenty twenty six, and it's the photo
- 25:59Speaker 3: booth photo shoot on your back book laptop.
- 26:03Speaker 2: Bring that back, but not but like with the with
- 26:06Speaker 2: the filters, the whole thing.
- 26:07Speaker 3: Yeah, I saw like the Tricolor filter. We're like, yeah,
- 26:11Speaker 3: I saw that Instagram account Velvet Coke post today like
- 26:14Speaker 3: a roundup of vintage photo booth selfies from like Kim
- 26:19Speaker 3: K and Lady Gaga and fuck they were good. I
- 26:23Speaker 3: was like, bring that back.
- 26:24Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 26:25Speaker 3: So yeah, I think what happened to Skype? Yeah my god,
- 26:30Speaker 3: Yeah yeah. Skype was the backbone of my long distance
- 26:35Speaker 3: relationship for a long time.
- 26:38Speaker 2: Wow, good time, let's get those selfies going, girls. Okay,
- 26:42Speaker 2: what's your final favorite?
- 26:44Speaker 3: My final favorite is a product wreck fashion Wreck, and
- 26:48Speaker 3: it's the Air Barrel pants. So they're one hundred percent cotton,
- 26:53Speaker 3: they're one hundred dollars. Air is a Sydney based label
- 26:56Speaker 3: that you can chop on the iconic, but they are
- 27:00Speaker 3: it's truly a very versatile item that you can wear
- 27:04Speaker 3: to work with a blazey you can chuck on with
- 27:06Speaker 3: a T shirt or a singleer and like wear in
- 27:08Speaker 3: summer to the beach with a jumper to grab coffee
- 27:11Speaker 3: in winter.
- 27:12Speaker 2: And short girl friendly.
- 27:14Speaker 3: Yeah, short girl friendly absolutely, and.
- 27:18Speaker 2: Probably not tall girl friendly.
- 27:20Speaker 3: Well, I don't know, because the thing is so these
- 27:22Speaker 3: pants are actually mid rise, but I wear them more
- 27:25Speaker 3: high waisteds, So I think that's why they are short
- 27:28Speaker 3: girl friendly for me because I'm wearing them slightly higher
- 27:30Speaker 3: on my body. But if you were wearing them as
- 27:32Speaker 3: of mid rise and you were like average or tall,
- 27:35Speaker 3: I think they could potentially work. And also because a
- 27:37Speaker 3: barrel style is supposed to be slightly cropped, so their
- 27:40Speaker 3: full length on me, but other people would probably wear
- 27:43Speaker 3: them and get that more desired cropt effect. But they're
- 27:46Speaker 3: really comfortable. They're not see through, and I've worn them
- 27:51Speaker 3: so many times, already washed them a bunch of times,
- 27:54Speaker 3: and yeah, what color did you get? I got black
- 27:57Speaker 3: and I got white, and the white's not see through.
- 28:00Speaker 3: And you can also get it in like an like
- 28:03Speaker 3: a light khaki and an olive and a brown. There's
- 28:06Speaker 3: like a bunch of different styles. Yeah, yeah, I think
- 28:10Speaker 3: there's also a pair on Target that are kind of similar,
- 28:13Speaker 3: but I don't know if they are necessarily one hundred
- 28:16Speaker 3: percent the same quality. So yeah, I know, I know.
- 28:24Speaker 2: I know. Well that's a rap.
- 28:26Speaker 3: That's a rap for our June favorites. Let us know
- 28:29Speaker 3: what's on your favorites list, your favorite things this month.
- 28:35Speaker 2: There are a few of our favorite things, the less
- 28:38Speaker 2: mustage bars and some barrel. There's a few of our
- 28:46Speaker 2: favorite things. And that is a wrap of Genus bloody.
- 28:52Speaker 2: We'll work on that for next next month. Okay, all right,
- 28:55Speaker 2: we'll come back. Can we actually record like an intro
- 28:57Speaker 2: like that? That would be great. We're gonna get I'll
- 29:00Speaker 2: be writed so quick, but it's fine. We'll change it.
- 29:02Speaker 2: Two of the lyrics, it's a parody. Yes, I can't
- 29:06Speaker 2: get us on that right right anyway, I'm never gonna
- 29:08Speaker 2: catch me all right. By Venus by Jupiter. Bye Chicks,
- 29:12Speaker 2: Shout out Pluto, Shout out Pluto. Miss you, love you,
- 29:14Speaker 2: Bye bye.
