- 0:00Double back alert double back alert double back alert double back alert folks. That's right to
- 0:06Notable players got paid brand now you trade talk Coral and son and dare your slate and wanting deals and
- 0:13and the villain of
- 0:15The NFL foil once again from getting a potential head coaching job
- 0:21We're gonna talk about all of this on the fourth episode of the football chunkies podcast. I am your host, Mikhail
- 0:27Let's get it. All right, folks. So
- 0:30If you don't know and if you haven't heard the news
- 0:33Eagles receiver Devontae Smith has inked a three-year 75 million dollar deal of 51 million of that is guaranteed
- 0:4233.9 of that money is guaranteed at signing
- 0:46Which on average he will be making about 25 million a year now
- 0:51Quick points for Devontae Smith so far. He has had two 1,000 yards
- 0:56See 1,000 yard receiving seasons
- 0:59He's been targeted over a hundred times since entering into the league and according to next-gen stats
- 1:04He had a 72.32 cash percentage
- 1:08Last season so you're talking about a player who is productive and
- 1:14Has a very pivotal role within the Eagles offense when defenses want to try the double team
- 1:21AJ Brown who who's the main person that's going to get open Devontae Smith and so
- 1:28You know, this this isn't a long-term deal. This is a you know a deal for basically
- 1:34Three years, you know, that's that that's not really bad by the time that deal was over with
- 1:38He'll still be in his prime which then he can be up and get another contract
- 1:42Which you know always want players to get paid now for the other person who got a bag alert
- 1:48defensive tackle the forest Buckner for the Colts
- 1:52Signed a two-year 46 million dollar
- 1:56extension with the 18 million dollar signing bonus which makes him the fifth highest paid defensive tackle in the league right now now
- 2:04Since 2017 he has created 44 sacks when lined up at defensive tackle
- 2:09Which is the fourth most in the NFL according to ESPN's analytics and NFL next-gen stats
- 2:15Also since 2020 he has the fourth highest double team rate as defensive tackle at 65%
- 2:23When you talk about a player who has been productive since leaving the 49ers
- 2:29It's the forest buck the forest Buckner has continued to show
- 2:34Why he is a top five defensive tackle in the league even when he's getting double double team and triple team
- 2:41He is still getting to the quarterback folks still getting to the quarterback and he is the anchor for that defensive line
- 2:49Honestly speaking here doesn't have a whole lot of talent. I mean they do have quity paid
- 2:54But really haven't seen a whole lot of production with him lately. Maybe a change. I don't know. I'm not a magician
- 3:02But um, you know congrats to the both of them on receiving a bag alert now
- 3:07Let's get to some trade talk folks because there is a particular player that a lot of people have been talking about
- 3:14And there's been a lot of conflicting reports
- 3:16Most of them have been false reports some of them have been credible pores, but we're gonna deep we're gonna deep dive into it now
- 3:2249ers receiver Brandon IEWIC
- 3:25Right now is in contract talks with the 49ers and in doing so
- 3:31Things are starting to look a little bit murky now
- 3:34Apparently there have been reports coming out that the Steelers have been the main
- 3:39Team that has been very persistent in trying to make a trade of for brand now you now
- 3:46We're gonna have to
- 3:49Dissect this like a surgeon. So I already have my knife already have my scalpel. Let's get into it. So with Brandon IEWIC
- 3:56He plays a very pivotal role on the 49ers offense has been very very very productive
- 4:05Within the last two years. He had a 71.43 catch percentage last season a hundred and five targets
- 4:12He has two one thousand yard seasons in the last two years and his market value right now would be a four-year
- 4:2099.8 million dollar deal, which would make him the fifth highest pay receiver. However
- 4:27With the with the situation that the 49ers are in right now
- 4:32They probably won't be able to pay that type of money to a Brandon IEWIC
- 4:37Simply because they have all of these big contracts on their books
- 4:41Right and so when you when you are a playoff caliber team like the 49ers
- 4:48somebody is gonna have to get the low end of the totem pole, right and
- 4:54Sometimes, you know, they'll they'll try to attempt to maybe try to add more money
- 4:59But at the end of the day the player, you know, ultimately makes a decision on if he wants to sign the deal or not sign the deal now
- 5:08With that being said
- 5:11We we have to be honest here folks
- 5:14Brandon IEWIC is in a situation right now where he cannot demand
- 5:19more money than Deebo Samuel and the reason why I say that is because
- 5:24You he isn't better than Deebo Samuel
- 5:28He's just not I'm sorry. I don't care what anyone says Brandon IEWIC is not better than Deebo Samuel
- 5:34Even even when a hurt Deebo Samuel is still more productive and still more dangerous
- 5:40than Brandon IEWIC, okay, not to mention Brandon IEWIC is in a situation where
- 5:48you have two choices and
- 5:51One of these choices, you know, it the other one is it's gonna be a sacrifice basically
- 5:57Either you take less and you stay on the team that you're on and then you go possibly win a Super Bowl and then, you know
- 6:03Maybe maybe they'll they'll be in a situation where they could probably, you know, tack more money onto his deal
- 6:09Or they can be in a situation where you know
- 6:14He leverages his way out and he gets traded to a crappy team
- 6:18But he gets the bag and the 49ers win the Super Bowl
- 6:21Those are the two extremes at this point because whether whether we want to admit it or not and
- 6:27This is that this is the God and honest truth here
- 6:31It's gonna look weird for Brandon IEWIC to be making more money than what Deebo Samuel was making
- 6:37Even though Deebo Samuel is the guy in the receiving room. That's gonna look weird
- 6:44That's gonna cause friction within the locker room, which
- 6:48Ultimately, you know, Deebo Samuel might might ask for trades and or my ask for more money
- 6:54Tackle his contract simply because hey y'all just pay him that much money and I know he's not better than me
- 7:01So that's sort of the the line that the 49ers
- 7:06You know are sort of teetering on at this point and it also doesn't help that
- 7:11You know, there are teams like the Pittsburgh Steelers, unfortunately and the Buffalo Bills who need a
- 7:19who need a receiver and so, you know, it's it's a very it's a very
- 7:27Sensitive situation only because if you trade for someone like a Brandon IEWIC
- 7:33You're gonna have to make them top five highest pay. He's not gonna want to you know
- 7:39Maybe we'll talk about at the end of the season. No, he wants his money up front. He wants to talk about money
- 7:45He wants to stand on business. That's what he want to do. He wants stand on business and
- 7:50Sometimes when you stand on business it comes it comes with a price and sometimes that price is
- 7:57You get shipped to a crappy team. That's not gonna go to the playoffs
- 8:01That's going through rebuild and now, you know, although you you got paid
- 8:06You're not gonna go anywhere
- 8:08Meanwhile, your other team, you know, they could possibly win a Super Bowl. They could you know
- 8:14Go on a run and win two Super Bowl three Super Bowl's whatever the case may be
- 8:19So that is the the the problem in this situation because
- 8:24You know, if you're a team like the Pittsburgh Steelers, why would you trade for someone like a Brandon IEWIC?
- 8:29especially when the receiver class is as
- 8:33Diverse and as big as as it is
- 8:36That doesn't make any sense
- 8:38Especially when you have, you know, very pressing needs on both sides of the ball
- 8:44You don't even have a starting center on the team right now and to any person that says
- 8:49Well, not here we could could play center. No
- 8:52No, we can't because if he if he was to play center, he should have started playing center
- 8:58late last season or
- 9:01Better yet, they shouldn't have just cut Mason Cole. They should have just kept Mason Cole for another year
- 9:07Drafted a center so then they can just sit under him and learn from him and then you make the transition
- 9:14Instead of being in a situation where now you have this pressing need at center and you haven't you haven't even
- 9:21Brought in a death piece. You haven't even signed anybody for a center. You haven't
- 9:25Meanwhile, you have players like a Brian Allen, a Connor Williams
- 9:30And you know, there's there's probably a few other centers that you could possibly sign right now and that could you know, that's another
- 9:37That's another position that you really don't have to worry about as much
- 9:42But making a trade for Brandon IEWIC. You already know the 49ers are gonna want a first round pick
- 9:49They're gonna want your first round pick and you need your first round pick. It'll be different
- 9:54If a team like the Pittsburgh Steelers if they didn't have as many holes on their team
- 10:01If they didn't have as many holes on their team, then it's like, okay, cool
- 10:05You can make this trade, you know, see what happens
- 10:08If you make it to play off school if you don't whatever this is but this is another draft
- 10:14Where again your first four picks have to hit
- 10:19They have to be starters and they have to be productive starters and if they're not that's gonna set the team back another year
- 10:27another two or three years if we're being real here
- 10:30so
- 10:32Trying to be this, you know super aggressive team that's trying to go after receiver who is about to get his first contract
- 10:39That's redundant
- 10:41It is it'll be different if Brandon IEWIC had already had his first deal
- 10:46He's looking for a second one or he's looking to tacked on more guaranteed money with his first deal
- 10:51Then it's like, okay, cool. You can make that type of move
- 10:55You know, you know lower the cap hit and create more cap and you know, what whatever else may be
- 11:02but he's looking for money and
- 11:05You already have players that pretty soon you're gonna have to pay so what does that look like you shelling all
- 11:12Of that money to Brandon IEWIC when pretty soon you're gonna have to pay nausea Harris
- 11:17You're gonna have to pay Pat farm move. You're gonna have to pay Jayla Warren
- 11:21You're gonna have to pay George Pickens soon
- 11:23You have to figure out what you have what you're gonna do with Cameron Haver
- 11:26You have to figure out what you're gonna do with a landing Roberts
- 11:29You got to figure out what you got to do with
- 11:32Cameron Haver and you got to figure out what you're gonna do with TJ Y
- 11:35That's almost eight players right there that you have to figure out what are you going to do?
- 11:43Are you gonna pay them or you extend them or you trade them or you cut them?
- 11:47Are you gonna just let them walk and let them test free agency?
- 11:49Those are the decisions that you have to make not to mention you also have to figure out what you're gonna do with James Daniels
- 11:56Because pretty soon he is gonna be free age as well and Isaac see a mallow
- 12:01So you have all of these pressing needs that you know to some fans is like, you know
- 12:07Though dressing when they address them. No
- 12:10Making a type of move like this
- 12:12Could literally mean
- 12:14Well, not a life or death situation, but it can literally mean either your team makes a crazy run and goes to the AFC championship
- 12:23maybe even a Super Bowl or
- 12:25it flops and now you're basically 25 to
- 12:2930 million dollars in a hole with it with a receiver and now you're probably gonna have to let a
- 12:36Productive player walk
- 12:39That's the situation it is and so
- 12:43For all the fans for all the fellow junkies out there who say, you know, they're their particular team should go after
- 12:50Someone like a brand-new. I want you to look. I want you to look up his his value
- 12:55I want you to look at his mark his market value as I said earlier on to this podcast
- 13:00But I'm gonna say this again according to spot rack
- 13:04His market value right now would be a four year
- 13:0999.8 million dollar deal. That's almost 25 million dollars a year. He would be the fifth highest paid receiver
- 13:18That's a lot of money
- 13:20that's a lot of money and
- 13:22You you would be
- 13:25You know in a in a category with receivers such as the Monte Adams Tyreek Hill AJ Brown
- 13:32DK Metcalf Cooper Cup. Can you honestly speaking?
- 13:37Say that Brandon IE is better than a Cooper Cup a DK Metcalf
- 13:43A AJ Brown a Tyreek Hill or the Monte Adams. Can you really say that?
- 13:48I can't even on their worst seasons. They can have a bad
- 13:54Well, I'm talking about just a horrible season
- 13:56they can still put up more numbers than what Brandon IE could do and
- 14:01You know for for anybody out there. I don't want to make it seem like I'm a brand-new care
- 14:06I'm always pro player, you know getting getting paid and whatnot, but to a certain extent
- 14:12When when you are trying to get paid there was a way that you have to move in
- 14:18order to get in order to secure the bag you can't just you know
- 14:23Sort of have a temper tantrum like how Brandon IU gets having right now
- 14:27Thinking that you know, it's gonna speed up the process. It's not it's not you unfollowing the 49ers
- 14:34You deleting all the pictures that you have on your Instagram and other social media accounts
- 14:39You may be taking 49ers out of your bio. That is not gonna make them move any faster
- 14:44It is not honestly speaking it might actually make them rethink their decision
- 14:50It may be rescind the offer that they currently have on the table. So
- 14:55You have to be careful
- 14:58Because if you don't be careful, they will ship you to a team and will not think twice about it
- 15:04Nothing twice about it. They won't factor in, you know, how you may feel about it or whatnot. They'll just ship you off
- 15:11Nothing twice about it. They don't care the the compensation one not they just want you gone
- 15:15And it doesn't help again that this is a big receiver class
- 15:20So I wouldn't be surprised if Kyle Shanahan probably had a conversation with John Lynch and probably said man forget him
- 15:27Listen, there's about two or three receivers right now that I'm looking at right now
- 15:31That could probably just as or maybe even more productive than what Brandon I you it has ever been
- 15:37Those are the conversations that are that have probably been had
- 15:41Leading up to the draft. So I say all that to say this brand I you it. I do hope you get paid
- 15:49Pittsburgh Steelers
- 15:51Don't make this move
- 15:52You're on a you're on the right track. Well, sort of you're sort of on the right track. Don't derail it for one player
- 15:59But moving on to Cortland Sutton also wanting a deal as well. So
- 16:06With Coral and Sutton, it's a little bit more
- 16:10complex
- 16:11Simply because he is a older receiver and he has about two years
- 16:1727.6 million dollars left on his deal now before I go any further when when when you hear that you're thinking
- 16:25Oh, what is he really complaining about? He still has money left on his deal
- 16:28No, he doesn't
- 16:31however
- 16:322 million of his of his 2024 salary is fully guaranteed while the remaining 25 isn't
- 16:40So what that means is he is guaranteed 2 million
- 16:45For the you know for fully guaranteed for this year's salary, but the 25 million
- 16:52He's not guaranteed that at all
- 16:54So what he is trying to do is he's trying to read up on guaranteed money now
- 17:00If you've never really looked into, you know, NFL player contracts when you know when the news break of you know
- 17:09Any person signing a crazy deal you have to look at the guarantees
- 17:14Because the guarantees
- 17:16That is the money that they are guaranteed to get the minute that they signed their name on that piece of paper
- 17:22That is the money that is guaranteed to them whether they are whether they play do not play injured
- 17:28Whatever the case may be they are injured the money that is not guaranteed
- 17:32That is the money that a lot of times are you know that are pushed sort of like to the back end of the contract
- 17:40Most of times they can be incentivized sometimes are not incentivized
- 17:44It just all depends on the on the structure of the contract now with that being said
- 17:50Coral and son has had has only had one one thousand yard of receiving season
- 17:56He has seven hundred and seventy two receiving yards last season
- 17:59He had ninety targets last season and he had a sixty five point fifty six cash percentage
- 18:07Now I understand the move right now. However
- 18:12It doesn't favor you again simply because this is a big receiver class and
- 18:21You are an older receiver
- 18:23It'll be different if you was still like someone in your prime if he was about maybe 25 26 maybe 27 years old
- 18:30Then it's like okay cool. You're great
- 18:33but you're entering out of your prime and
- 18:36so
- 18:38You know that can that can make a GM a little bit hesitant on wanting to give you a long-term deal simply because
- 18:46They don't know how you know how how much how many years you have left
- 18:51You know of great production left because at some point you're gonna hit that you're gonna hit that point where
- 18:58You know your production is just gonna fall it's gonna plummet and then that'll be the point where you're probably gonna walk away
- 19:05And all that different type of stuff so you have to factor in all those different type of things now
- 19:11The problem with the receiver market is that there is a bunch of receivers. We're all looking to get paid
- 19:19Okay, you have Justin Jefferson that pretty soon you're gonna have to he's gonna have to get paid CD Lam's gonna have to get paid
- 19:26Brand I ui Coral and Sutton like we're talking about right now and Darius late
- 19:30That's five receivers right there that are looking to get paid
- 19:37now
- 19:40Some of them are gonna get paid some of them are not gonna get paid some of them are gonna get big money
- 19:44Some of them are gonna get small money
- 19:46It just all depends on where you know on how the chips fall honestly and so
- 19:53At this point at this juncture Coral and Sutton
- 19:57The best option is probably to want to get traded
- 20:01Because I don't think the Broncos are gonna want to pay him the type of money
- 20:05That he probably wants especially
- 20:08Especially when they when they have to eat
- 20:1189 million dollar dead cap hit with Russell Wilson. I don't think they're gonna want to do that. I
- 20:17Just don't personally, but you know, I could be wrong
- 20:22Again, you know for him. Hopefully he you know, he gets paid well
- 20:26If he doesn't, you know, you can get traded there. There's a few teams that do need a receiver
- 20:33You know, I mean, you know, you you were productive, you know with I mean with a quarterback last year
- 20:41So, you know
- 20:43You could you know, maybe come to the Pittsburgh Steelers, maybe, you know
- 20:48Listen Coral in Coral in if you're listening to this come to the Pittsburgh Steelers come to the Pittsburgh Steelers
- 20:55Come on. Follow
- 20:57Russell Wilson, come on. Just follow
- 20:59Follow him, please. Please follow him. Please for this moment
- 21:04Please as a fan as a podcaster, please Coral and Sutton
- 21:09Come to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Omar get on the phone and get this man
- 21:14I need the con artist to get this man
- 21:18Please Adam a few more a few more maybe about two more years on the remaining part of his deal
- 21:26Little bit more money. Boom. We in there like swimwear now moving on to Daria Slayton. This is a
- 21:33Really more complex situation simply because of where the Giants are positioned in the draft
- 21:39So Daria Slayton if you happen if you happen to not know
- 21:44I'm signed a two-year 12.2 million dollar deal last season in his due about 6.2 million in his final year
- 21:53And so with that being said he is not attending and
- 21:58voluntarily
- 22:00Workouts, which you know if he did he would receive a 350,000 dollar bonus
- 22:07Let's be honest here folks him getting paid
- 22:10He simply relies on what the Giants are going to do in the draft now
- 22:16You're probably thinking well that doesn't really that shouldn't dictate on if you get on if he gets paid or not
- 22:22Yes, it does
- 22:23simply because the Giants have a high draft pick and a lot of mock drafts have been mocking them to get
- 22:31Someone like a Malik neighbors aroma, Dunes a
- 22:34A Brian Thomas one of those you know high-end receivers
- 22:40Whereas there's also mocks that are also saying that they might get a quarterback as well
- 22:45So they're in a situation where depending on what they do in the draft will dictate
- 22:51You know someone like a Daria Slayton getting paid
- 22:54Now and I don't want to seem like I'm talking, you know out of the side of my mouth
- 22:58The problem with this situation is you wanting to get paid
- 23:03But the Giants didn't even pay say quine and say quine was the was the the heart and soul of the offense
- 23:11They even pay him
- 23:12So I mean if we being real here honestly speaking here if I could have a one-on-one conversation with what Daria Slayton
- 23:19I would say bro if it was me personally
- 23:23I would just play the the the rest of the season out and then just be a free agent
- 23:27Because at this point if the organization didn't want to play I mean didn't want to pay there
- 23:34the the heart and soul to their offense a
- 23:37player who
- 23:40Has been the most impactful since Odell Beckham, Jr. Why in the world would they pay you think about it?
- 23:47Why would they want to pay you they overpaid for?
- 23:50Daniel Jones overpaying now. They're realizing the mistake that they made why in the world
- 23:57They want to pay you top dollar Daria Slayton is in a situation where
- 24:02Honestly speaking here. It's best if you try to see if they if you can work something out
- 24:09However, if you cannot work something out
- 24:12You already know you have two options
- 24:15You can either sit out or you can play and maybe see if you know if you're having a
- 24:22Crazy, you know a crazy start to the season where you can sort of build up your your draft stock and teams will be
- 24:29Interested in trading for you and then you get traded to another team midseason
- 24:32That's the position that you're at right now because if you hold out
- 24:37The Giants are not going to care. They've already shown that they are
- 24:40Invested into Jalen height. They already showed that there's already mocks that are continuing to show that they're going to draft a receiver
- 24:50So honestly speaking here like I said before in the beginning part of the episode
- 24:54You're probably gonna be one of the players who's going to get the bottom end of the totem pole
- 25:00That's where you are right now. And so, you know, you have to figure out. Do you?
- 25:06Do you want to continue to do this or do you want to just you know?
- 25:11Just try to just try to take a risk on yourself come in work out
- 25:15You know even even if it means you do workouts by yourself on the sideline
- 25:20Just do that just do that at that point because you just holding out isn't gonna solve anything because
- 25:27It just won't I'm sorry. It just will not solve anything now
- 25:33moving on to
- 25:35the scathing
- 25:38Scathing report that came out yesterday about
- 25:42former New England's New England Patriot head coach Bill Belichick. So our an article came out yesterday
- 25:49basically detailing
- 25:52That's Robert Kraft owner of the New England Patriots
- 25:56I'm sort of intervening in the hiring process for Bill Belichick to be the next head coach for the Atlanta Falcons now
- 26:05Before we talk about the situation. We have to talk about the history, right? And so few years. Let's go back a few years. So
- 26:13Bill Belichick is regarded as one of the greatest
- 26:19head coaches of all time one of the
- 26:21Most winningest coaches of all time especially in this era
- 26:27However, the problem with Bill Belichick has always been and this has been documented with books
- 26:34former interviews with players and whatnot and you know
- 26:38people that that worked within within the New England Patriots organization is his ego
- 26:44he is a person that wants control and
- 26:47You know for the longest time he has had control over the Patriots
- 26:52He has he has wielded an iron fist with the Patriots for the longest time folks
- 26:59There there was a period in time where you know
- 27:03He had this philosophy where he would cut a player two years early than to have them two years late
- 27:09Did it work a few times? Yes, it did but there were situations where it did backfire and
- 27:15So when you have a head coach who?
- 27:20You know
- 27:22Has has basically put the greatest
- 27:26Football player of all time and Tom Brady on the spotlight, you know in front of the entire team
- 27:32That can rub that can rub people the wrong way
- 27:35His demeanor how he moves how he operates all of these things, you know has rubbed people the wrong way for the longest time
- 27:44That's why a lot of players who you know who were on those Super Bowl teams when they come out and they talk about you know
- 27:54How how tough it is to play for Bill Belichick?
- 27:57They're not saying these things just to create likes and you know create attention
- 28:02They're doing this because Bill Belichick demands
- 28:06Um perfection he demands that you do your job for the longest time his his famous saying was do your damn job
- 28:16That was his saying do your damn job, okay?
- 28:20and so
- 28:22Bill Belichick is
- 28:24At a point in his coaching career where he doesn't have as many opportunities as as what he thought he was because
- 28:31Not only are you getting the coach in Bill Belichick?
- 28:36But you're also will be getting the GM of Bill Belichick because while he was you know with the Patriots
- 28:43He also did have some GM power
- 28:47Along with being the head coach case in point
- 28:50Look at the past three or four drafts, you know that the Patriots have had a lot of those players
- 28:56He's with on from Mack Jones to the kill Harry to a few other notable players
- 29:03He's with on them and it's been horrible if we're being honest here his last great draft
- 29:10was probably
- 29:12Maybe Derek Barmore. I would probably say in Christian Gonzalez though
- 29:16Those are probably the last two where it's like wow those are like those are really great, you know really good really great drafts
- 29:23It was only two. It was only two prospects everybody else. It's
- 29:29It's slim pickings honestly and so when you have a when you have a coach, you know that
- 29:36Demands that type of control
- 29:38it can rub GM's the wrong way it really can and
- 29:43You know for the people that don't realize in order for a team to be successful
- 29:49your GM and
- 29:51And your coach they have to be on the same wavelength now
- 29:56They don't have to be buddy buddy. They don't have to be best friends
- 29:59They don't have to you know go over each other's houses for you know for Thanksgiving and for the holidays and whatnot
- 30:05But they but they have to be on the same mindset that we are trying to win a championship
- 30:11and
- 30:12Sometimes when you have a coach
- 30:14Whose presence is as strong as a Bill Belichick
- 30:19That can rub people the wrong way that can make people not want to work with you honestly speaking here
- 30:25And it honestly doesn't help that with the recent
- 30:30Docu series that's come out called the dynasty
- 30:33If for for those who haven't watched it you should definitely watch it. It is a great watch
- 30:38It sort of gives you of the last dance type of lives, but it's a little bit shorter
- 30:44But it's really good though really really really really good. It's on Apple TV by the way
- 30:48Not not this isn't sponsored. Just just putting it out there now
- 30:53Going back to Bill Belichick
- 30:56during the coaching hires cycle
- 31:00Bill Belichick really wasn't getting a whole lot of interviews honestly speaking here
- 31:05The most notable one that a lot of people were definitely sort of attracted to
- 31:11Was the Falcons job and the charges job?
- 31:14There were a lot of people including myself that definitely believed that Bill Belichick was either gonna go to either the Falcons
- 31:21Chargers or the commanders honestly, but ultimately they decided to go in a different direction
- 31:26And so here we are now do I personally believe that robbercraft may be maybe probably
- 31:35Intervened in this, you know in his hiring process. I wouldn't be surprised. I wouldn't be simply because
- 31:42Robert Krav really hasn't really hasn't had the best relationship with little Belichick may I remind you ladies and gentlemen
- 31:52This is the same bill Belichick that tried to trade for that tried to trade Tom Brady
- 31:59When he was winning
- 32:01Yes, yes, yes, this is documented. You could you could look him up go on Google see for yourself
- 32:07there was a point in time where the Patriots had just drafted Jimmy Garoppolo and Bill was
- 32:13head over heels for Jimmy and so
- 32:16You know there there were rumbling starting starting to surface that Bill was gonna move on from Tom and
- 32:23Basically have Jimmy, you know carry, you know carry on the torch and so that that angered Tom to the point where Tom went to
- 32:32Robert Krav since they have a very close relationship and Robert Krav intervened and Robert Krav basically said you're going to trade Jimmy Garoppolo
- 32:39I'm telling you I am demanding you as the owner as your boss to trade Jimmy Garoppolo
- 32:46And we're gonna keep Tom Brady and so since then that has angered
- 32:52Bill Belichick and he's probably you know kept that and so
- 32:57You have to tack that on with you know
- 33:00GM's and teams they don't want a bill Belichick. They don't they don't want someone who?
- 33:07You know is gonna want is gonna want their hand in every single little thing
- 33:12They don't want that they want someone who can kill who can coach the team and you know try to to win as many games possible
- 33:19And ultimately try to compete for a championship. That's what they want. They don't want someone that you know is
- 33:26You know as a part-time GM and a full-time coach. They don't want that at this point
- 33:34Now I will make a prediction though I
- 33:38Truly believe that Bill Belichick will be the next head coach for the Dallas Cowboys
- 33:43And I say that because the Cowboys are in a situation where they need a strong force
- 33:50They need a strong presence within that locker room within that organization that is going to
- 33:57Create order and the only person I know that can create order the best and has consistently showed it
- 34:03Despite his recent failures is Bill Belichick
- 34:07Bill Belichick is gonna clean house. He's gonna bring in his people and
- 34:12Any player that may not you know that may not like him that mean that may feel offended on how he you know moves and operates
- 34:20And coaches he'll definitely ship them off. No problem. Only things wise about it
- 34:25Do I think he probably would go anywhere else? Yes
- 34:29From what I've seen and in various reports
- 34:31I've seen that he is interested in coaching for not only the Cowboys, but the Giants and the Eagles
- 34:38Even even in that situation
- 34:41That's a little bit more
- 34:43Complex only because with the Eagles all their money is invested into the offense and not a lot of money is invested into the defense
- 34:51And so, you know with with Jalen Hertz already already showing signs of regression
- 34:57How much would he regress under a bill Belichick system?
- 35:02Because a bill Belichick system, you know, it's sort of a run-heavy type of you know situation
- 35:08And when you have receivers like a J Brown and the Vontae Smith, they're gonna want theirs
- 35:14So I say all that to say this and this will probably be the last thing that I'll say
- 35:20Bill Belichick is in a is in a phase where he's trying to rebrand himself trying to make it seem like, you know, I'm
- 35:28Changed I'm more progressive. You know, I'm willing to
- 35:32Make changes and change how I you know coaching whatnot for the betterment of the team
- 35:38TEAM as he said in one interview is that going to change the hearts and minds of GM's?
- 35:43I don't know. We'll just have to wait and see how the chips fall
- 35:49After this upcoming season do I think Bill Belichick will be a head coach again? Yes
- 35:55100% simply because
- 35:57Despite the ego despite, you know, how people may feel about Bill Belichick as the person you cannot
- 36:05Deny his coaching his coaching is still intact and his defenses when when they have, you know
- 36:12Effective players is a still a very dangerous defense. So with that being said, I want to end this episode
