- 0:36Speaker 1: Today's edition of Football at four, powered by the Inside
- 0:39of the Birds podcast. Here on the Sports Bash. What's
- 0:43going on, Mocher? How are you on a Monday?
- 0:47Speaker 3: I could be better. I wish the weather was a
- 0:49little nicer, but otherwise not so bad.
- 0:51Speaker 1: Yeah, well, it's a Monday Mosher mailbag, so getting a
- 0:54good mood man. A lot of the people want to
- 0:56hear your answers to their questions. We got a lot
- 0:59of mail bank question today. And you know we're less
- 1:02than a month to training camp. I know you're excited.
- 1:05Speaker 4: Uh yeah, very very excited for the fact that there's
- 1:08three weeks to go.
- 1:10Speaker 1: Well, when you say three weeks, it really starts to
- 1:12resonate three weeks until the Eagle veterans.
- 1:15Speaker 2: And players all report.
- 1:17Speaker 1: That will be on a Tuesday, by the way, So
- 1:19three weeks tomorrow the Eagles will be at the Novacare
- 1:23Complex and Jeff Boscher from inside the Birds, of course
- 1:26they'll have so much coverage of the training camp and everything,
- 1:29plus his.
- 1:30Speaker 2: Workover at Phillyvoice dot com.
- 1:32Speaker 1: If you have an Eagles question, we can probably fit
- 1:35a couple more in today six, nine, four oh three, nine,
- 1:40seven to three, but most we got a bunch of them.
- 1:42So let's dive into the Mosher Monday Mailbag edition of
- 1:47the Sports Bash on this Football at four and we'll
- 1:49start off with one from Kevin and Smithville. As you
- 1:52just said, three weeks to go before the start of
- 1:56training camp and a lot of people would like to
- 1:59hear from you on this particular topic. What is the
- 2:02biggest position battle to watch in Eagles camp?
- 2:06Speaker 2: Kevin from Smithville, Well, you know, I.
- 2:10Speaker 4: Guess the one that's probably the most significant one in
- 2:13terms of starting in potentially team success is adri Jackson.
- 2:20Versus Killey Ringo at the left cornerback spot. I mean
- 2:26that's because I think it's it feels like a fifty
- 2:27to fifty competition or may the best man win. No
- 2:30true leader in the clubhouse. But obviously you know they've
- 2:34got a lot of spots to fill. There's gonna be
- 2:36can somebody unseat Moro Jomo? You know, I even look
- 2:40at the four man rush and say, well, we know
- 2:43Jalen Carter inside and Moro Jomo we would soon would
- 2:46be the other one. But could Ty Robinson get in? There?
- 2:50Is there a true like number two running back battle
- 2:54between Dylan and Will Shipley to the point where whoever
- 2:57wins it is going to ordinary five chev bon shared
- 3:01workload off of Sa Kwon Barkley, and if it's Shipley,
- 3:04does that add a little element to the passing game.
- 3:05So there are some contextual position battles that are really
- 3:10interested seeing number three wide receiver or whether that's more
- 3:12tight end flex, but really for overall team success, right,
- 3:17the spot that everybody's really looking at is that spot
- 3:20to replace Darius Slay right.
- 3:21Speaker 1: Well, you know there's a bunch of battles the right
- 3:23guard spot, as you mentioned, some of them, but the
- 3:25biggest one could be who wins that opposite corner from
- 3:28quinnyon Mitchell because that's a pretty important one, right, that's
- 3:31a pretty important one. We saw al important. You know,
- 3:33Darius Slay was of this defense a year ago. Good question,
- 3:37Kevin in Smithville, and I know a lot of people
- 3:39are going to be wondering as they get to training camp.
- 3:41Speaker 2: There, let's go to James in Summer's point.
- 3:44Speaker 1: James wants to know is Nakobe Dean locked in as
- 3:46a starter or could someone make a push and keep
- 3:50him off the field.
- 3:53Speaker 4: So that's a tough one to answer, because I would
- 3:58say he's comes back to play. He's one hundred percent
- 4:01healthy and still the same to Kobe Dean that he
- 4:05was prior to the Beateeller tendon tear. But it's not
- 4:07just also prior to the Teller, right, He's now had
- 4:10the Jones surgery on his foot.
- 4:13Speaker 3: He's his time with the foot now.
- 4:15Speaker 4: The the Beteller tendon. He had some injuries in college,
- 4:19so eventually that stuff can kind of the wear and
- 4:21hair can make you lesser of a player. And so
- 4:26we have to see, you know, I remember Nate Allen
- 4:28coming back from the We all thought Nate Allen was gonna.
- 4:30Speaker 3: Be the guy, right.
- 4:31Speaker 4: It's after so many misfires at safety when they let
- 4:34Brian Dawkins walk out the door.
- 4:36Speaker 3: And then Nate had a really significant injury and.
- 4:38Speaker 4: He came back and he was okay, but he only
- 4:41got a one year deal.
- 4:41Speaker 3: He never got like a long term extension. He just
- 4:43didn't look like the same player.
- 4:45Speaker 4: So you hope that na Kobe Dean is and if
- 4:48he is, he's the he's this yeh. He'll start next
- 4:50to next to Zach Bond and then they will use
- 4:55Johid Campbell in whatever role that whether it's ed rusher
- 4:58or also a linebacker or too.
- 5:00Speaker 3: They'll figure it out.
- 5:01Speaker 4: But if Nikobe Deane comes back in his final year
- 5:04here and he doesn't look like the same player, that
- 5:06I don't think anything's guaranteed.
- 5:08Speaker 1: All right, let's get this one from this one just
- 5:10came in actually to the top of the list here
- 5:12from Bobby and Wildwood. Bobby wants to know what's the
- 5:16weakest area.
- 5:17Speaker 2: For the Birds.
- 5:21Speaker 1: Well, if that's an interesting question, we don't really think.
- 5:24We don't think of weak spots, right, everything's the best, right.
- 5:29Speaker 3: Right, Like, so if you micro or zero in.
- 5:32Speaker 4: You say number three receivers pretty weak right now, but
- 5:35they can cover that up by having two great, you know,
- 5:38outside receivers and then moving other receivers in the slot.
- 5:41I think overall, safety without CJ. Gardner Johnson at the moment,
- 5:45if we're talking about just a position, is probably the
- 5:48weakest position, only because Andrew.
- 5:50Speaker 3: Mccouba has not played an NFL down yet.
- 5:53Speaker 4: Replankaship's a nice safety, but I think we've talked about
- 5:55this before. We kind of have to see how he
- 5:58plays when he's not next to see J. Cardner Johnson,
- 6:01because in twenty twenty three, when there was no CJ.
- 6:04Gardner Johnson, Reid didn't wasn't as good. You know, he
- 6:06was part of that implosion too down the stretch, and
- 6:09he didn't play his best football.
- 6:11Speaker 3: So sometimes having a guy like CJ. Freeze up read
- 6:14to play a certain way.
- 6:17Speaker 4: So I would say safety at the moment looks like
- 6:20quote unquote weakest spot on the team.
- 6:22Speaker 2: Let's go Steven Vinelyn. I like this question, this one.
- 6:26Speaker 1: You know, it's an offseason where you get a lot
- 6:27of questions duplicitous, but this one we haven't heard much
- 6:30of and he concerned about the depth behind Lane Johnson,
- 6:32who's another year older, and Jordan my Alta. He missed
- 6:35four games last year. They lost Fred Johnson, So who
- 6:40is the depth behind Johnson? In my lotta if someone
- 6:43got hurt, Yeah, I.
- 6:44Speaker 4: Mean, I can understand why that would be a concern,
- 6:47but I'm not particularly concerned, only because I mean, Fred
- 6:50Johnson came to the Eagles as a guy who would you.
- 6:52Speaker 3: Know, play for the Bengals. He was he had started
- 6:55some games for them.
- 6:56Speaker 4: It's not like he came as a as this amazing
- 6:58one year kind of signing.
- 7:00Speaker 3: He didn't earn an extension for another year.
- 7:02Speaker 4: But Kendall Lamb has a lot of starting experience with
- 7:06the Miami Dolphins, and I think somebody before that.
- 7:09Speaker 3: So he's on the team. And you've got Matt.
- 7:11Speaker 4: Pryor, who has played both right tackle and right guard.
- 7:14Right now, he's playing right guard, but he's played right
- 7:16tackle before. And those are two veterans. Right off the bat.
- 7:19They drafted Miles Hinton, so that's another guy. You know,
- 7:23I'm not expecting much from the other right tackle that
- 7:25they drafted, Texas Camera Williams, because he's more of a
- 7:28project but Darien Canard is a guy they carried all
- 7:32last year on the team and he played really well,
- 7:36I thought in the preseason games.
- 7:38Speaker 3: So I think they have a lot of options, and
- 7:40that's all you.
- 7:40Speaker 4: Can ask for at this moment is giving yourself both
- 7:43young options and veteran options.
- 7:46Speaker 1: And they have well, you know, the fact that they
- 7:48lost Fred Johnson last year. You know, it's like who
- 7:51was brought here to replace him? And I and the
- 7:54first guy who was the guy for the Dolphins, Yeah,
- 7:57Kendall Lambs.
- 7:58Speaker 4: He's got a decent amount of games in this league
- 8:01and has played.
- 8:02Speaker 3: I mean, he's not probo la again. But you're not
- 8:03looking at that.
- 8:04Speaker 2: Well, that happened so long ago, you almost forgot that
- 8:06they brought him in.
- 8:08Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah, and he's.
- 8:09Speaker 4: Playing, although he had a recent like controversy where I
- 8:11get some quotes for misattributed.
- 8:14Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 8:15Speaker 4: But the guy has played for He's thirty two, he's
- 8:17played for four teams, ten years, forty four starts.
- 8:21Speaker 3: I mean, that's that's pretty good.
- 8:22Speaker 1: Jeff Boscher from the Inside the Birds podcast It's our
- 8:25Football at four Monday Moscher mail Bag. Every Monday, Jeff
- 8:28Mosher answers your questions Uh, let's go to g O
- 8:31and eht which young wide receiver has the best shot
- 8:35to stick?
- 8:35Speaker 2: Smith, Wilson, Danny Gray.
- 8:38Speaker 4: I tell you what, what's really interesting about this trio, Mike,
- 8:41is that all of them have a shot for different reasons.
- 8:44Speaker 3: So let's break this.
- 8:45Speaker 2: Well, I'll tell you what you know.
- 8:46Speaker 1: You could tell that the people listened to football at
- 8:48four in the de checho segments because Gray is a
- 8:52name that he brings up very often. And now it's
- 8:54infiltrating your mail bag.
- 8:57Speaker 3: That's right, and Gray, So start with Gray.
- 9:00Speaker 4: Then Danny Gray, who was a third round pick, by
- 9:03the way, I believe it was a third or fourth round,
- 9:05third round pick I think of the forty nine ers,
- 9:07so clearly one team thought pretty good of.
- 9:09Speaker 3: This guy at one point.
- 9:11Speaker 4: He has four to three speed, all right, And if
- 9:13you really look at the Eagles wide receiver group, yeah,
- 9:16third round pick.
- 9:17Speaker 2: If you look at the.
- 9:18Speaker 4: Eagles wide receiver group, they have a lot of talent,
- 9:20especially with AJ Brown DeVante Smith, but not a lot
- 9:22of guys running four to three.
- 9:23Speaker 3: Now, a lot of guys.
- 9:24Speaker 4: Remember when Quz Watkins was on the team a couple
- 9:26of years ago and he was limited, he.
- 9:28Speaker 3: Wasn't as good as Devontae Smith or A. J.
- 9:30Speaker 4: Brown, not nearly, but he had a role right because
- 9:33you could stretch the field from that slot position. And
- 9:36so that will be Danny Gray's feather in his cap
- 9:39that he can stretch the field probably as good as
- 9:41anybody that they have in that entire wide receiver group.
- 9:44And speed, we know that catches a coach's attention. You
- 9:47can't coach it, So that gives Danny Gray makes him
- 9:50an interesting guy to watch. Johnny Wilson is six foot
- 9:53seven Mike. You don't find a whole lot of that either.
- 9:55And they used him last year as a blocking receiver
- 9:58and sort of a backup tight end and when they
- 10:00wanted a run out of eleven personnel but have a
- 10:02bigger body in there, and he's got that and Danny
- 10:05Gray can't do that, and Ania Smith can't do that,
- 10:07and that makes him not only a good blocking receiver,
- 10:10especially if you want to get your screen game going
- 10:12or your run game going out of eleven personnel, but
- 10:14your red zone offense. I mean, a six foot seven
- 10:17guy is a guy you could just throw it up to. Now,
- 10:19Ania Smith is the only one of these three who
- 10:23is just so naturally fitted for the slot, which the
- 10:25Eagles really don't have right, A natural slot receiver, a
- 10:29guy who knows how to win two way routes, a
- 10:31guy who's played that position is underside like short, so
- 10:34perfect for that position, but also compactly built so that
- 10:37could give him the leg up. So they all bring
- 10:40something different to the table.
- 10:42Speaker 1: Good stuff. There a question there by a goo in EHG.
- 10:46Let's go to a Paul in Northfield for the most
- 10:48your mail bag, is there a veteran player who spot
- 10:50on the roster is not secure that you'll be watching.
- 10:56Speaker 4: A veteran player? Well, I mean there's a couple of it,
- 10:58like a Dorri Jackson. If he doesn't beat out Killy
- 11:01Ringo may not make the team.
- 11:02Speaker 1: I mean they've got so they don't keep him around
- 11:03as just as the backup in case someone got hurt.
- 11:06Speaker 3: He could.
- 11:06Speaker 4: I'm not saying he definitely doesn't. I'm saying it's potential
- 11:10that he wouldn't make the team if he doesn't beat
- 11:13out Killey Ringo. Because remember you still have Eli Rix,
- 11:16you have Mac McWilliams. They drafted right, so that's another corner.
- 11:21You've got Cooper to Jean, so you can't keep six corners, right,
- 11:24You've got a lot of corners. So I wouldn't say
- 11:27he's guaranteed to make it. If he doesn't beat out
- 11:30Killey Ringo, that that will be. That's that's one guy.
- 11:33I think some of the offensive lineman I mentioned, whether
- 11:34it's Kendall Lamb or Matt pryor are not definite by
- 11:37any stretch of the means to make the team. And
- 11:42I would say aj Dillon is not ven definitely.
- 11:46Speaker 1: I would imagine those two tight ends are probably battling
- 11:49for roster spot.
- 11:50Speaker 4: Good point too, They're not going to keep five tight
- 11:52ends and right now they have five.
- 11:54Speaker 1: All right, let's go to Marcus and Maar Mora once
- 11:57ad on the motion mail bag. Who is Jeff bo
- 12:00NFC team that is flying under the radar going into
- 12:04training camp?
- 12:05Speaker 4: Man, we spent so much to all right, the NFC
- 12:08team flying under the radar. So I'm not going to
- 12:11pick the forty nine ers because I think people kind
- 12:13of are now starting to talk about them as like
- 12:15a real good bounce back type of team. Mine under
- 12:21the radar team would be probably from the NFC West.
- 12:26It would probably be the Seahawks. Kids say I have
- 12:29a ton of faith in Sam Darnold, and I do
- 12:33know that they got rid of of DK Metcalf, but
- 12:36Jackson Smith and Jiggler.
- 12:37Speaker 3: Really came on.
- 12:38Speaker 4: They do have a similar Their new offensive coordinator is Kubiak,
- 12:42who does a lot of things from the McVeigh tree,
- 12:44just like Kevin O'Connell. They do have good running backs
- 12:48with Kenneth Walker and Sharburney, so they'll get that play
- 12:51action game going. Their defense under Mike McDonald is going
- 12:55to be built up in year two now, and he
- 12:57did a great job as the Ravens coordinator.
- 13:00Speaker 3: And I think that there's.
- 13:01Speaker 4: A I think that I was gonna either pick them
- 13:04or the Cardinals, because I also like what the Cardinals
- 13:06have done. But I there's something about the way they're
- 13:09up and down the Cardinals that I can't go with them.
- 13:11But one of those two teams is going to be
- 13:14a nice little sleeper team going under the radar right now?
- 13:16Speaker 2: All right?
- 13:17Speaker 1: Uh six O nine four three nine seven three. If
- 13:20you want to get a question for the most your
- 13:23mail bag, let's go to Tim in Wildwood Crests. I
- 13:26was just down a Wildwood Crest actually, Tim more rushing
- 13:29touchdowns this year, Hurts or Saquon?
- 13:32Speaker 3: You were in the Crest over the weekend, No.
- 13:34Speaker 2: Last weekend, two weekends ago.
- 13:36Speaker 3: I'm gonna say I was in Wildwood myself over the weekend.
- 13:38I didn't know. But either way, the Hurts or Saquon
- 13:41more rushing touchdowns.
- 13:42Speaker 1: I like the question because I guess it means, you know,
- 13:45do they go crazy with the tush push to just
- 13:47like jam it up the take that everybody, or the
- 13:51Saquon you know, because Saquon got a lot of touchdowns,
- 13:54take it from him. So maybe he doesn't get the
- 13:56two thousand yards this year, but against like twenty scores.
- 14:00Speaker 4: Yeah, So last year Hurts had, if I remember correctly,
- 14:03I'm going looking.
- 14:04Speaker 3: Up real quick, how many touchdowns he had rushing? Fourteen?
- 14:08Speaker 5: It was my guest, yes, fourteen, And Barkley had more
- 14:13than that, right, because he had an otherworldly type of
- 14:16year he had, real quick, he had thirteen.
- 14:18Speaker 3: No, he had thirteen. So I'm gonna go Hurts again
- 14:21because it's really hard.
- 14:23Speaker 4: To have a year like Saint Kwan Barkley had and
- 14:25then go have a better year the next year.
- 14:27Speaker 2: Right.
- 14:28Speaker 4: So, but for Hurts, he's very consistently in that number
- 14:30because of all the goal line touchdown that he gets.
- 14:34Speaker 3: Saw the hurts.
- 14:35Speaker 1: Hurts is to play from Jeff Bosher. If you want
- 14:37to bet that one, blame him if you don't get
- 14:39it right. All right, let's go to William in Lower Township.
- 14:43More important to the Eagles defense success this year? Carter
- 14:47or Smith?
- 14:49Speaker 3: Carter?
- 14:50Speaker 4: Carter, Carter makes everybody else better. I don't think we
- 14:53can say that about Nolan Smith yet. I mean, I
- 14:56haven't seen that. I think Nolan Smith does a nice job.
- 14:58He's turned speed power, he's learned his position, He's making
- 15:02pressures happen, and you know, you can definitely argue he
- 15:05put two Pro Bowl right guards out of out of
- 15:08commission in the playoffs, So that really does help when
- 15:10you put a guard out right. He did it in
- 15:12the Packers on that to Elgin, I can't remember the
- 15:16guy's name, the left guard for the Packers.
- 15:18Speaker 3: He's really good.
- 15:19Speaker 4: But you remember he came across on a sort of
- 15:22a pole and Smith put him out, and then he
- 15:24put out somebody in from Kansas City. But I think
- 15:27Jalen Smith has the trickle down effect where he gets
- 15:30the double teams and lets everybody else eat off the
- 15:32one and ones, So it's always Jalen Carter.
- 15:34Speaker 1: All right, So Carter would be the answer for the
- 15:37most important guy to the Eagles success, you know, and
- 15:40Nolan Smith, you know as the outside Edge. There's the
- 15:43article that you guys wrote about over and inside the Birds.
- 15:45I think Andrew had the fact that Jalx Hunt looks
- 15:48like a guy who's putting some workouts in together there
- 15:51gotten himself a lot stronger.
- 15:53Speaker 3: Yeah, Andrew had a great story.
- 15:54Speaker 4: Caught up with Jele Hunch trainer down in Houston and
- 15:58really went into detail and they're what the training regimen
- 16:02revolve evolves and why it involves that. It was really
- 16:06good detail from Andrew. Great story. Everybody should check it out.
- 16:09Inside the Burgs dot Com.
- 16:10Speaker 2: Clarence from West Deptford.
- 16:14Speaker 1: Most your mail bag, Jeff, do you look at the
- 16:16Eagles as the clear favorite in the c I would
- 16:20imagine that Clarence, and some of these are people who
- 16:22have been listening to your series here in the NFC stuff,
- 16:25so he wants to know the Eagles the clear favorite
- 16:28in the NFC.
- 16:31Speaker 3: You ever see a movie Airplane, Mike.
- 16:33Speaker 2: Yeah, a couple of them.
- 16:35Speaker 3: Actually, remember when he says Roger. Roger over over, do
- 16:38you have clearance Clarence.
- 16:40Speaker 4: So that's a good because clear and Clarence are in
- 16:42the in the same in the question here, So that
- 16:44made me think of that.
- 16:45Speaker 2: Gotcha.
- 16:46Speaker 3: Do I think are the clear favorite? Yes, I think
- 16:50the Eagles.
- 16:50Speaker 4: That doesn't mean they're gonna win, but I think that
- 16:52they still have the most talent in the NFC East.
- 16:55And the only reason that you wouldn't is the history
- 16:58says that in twenty years no team is repeat.
- 17:00Speaker 2: But no, this is in the NFC though.
- 17:02Speaker 3: Oh as the NFC.
- 17:04Speaker 4: Yes, no, no, Well, I see them as the favorite,
- 17:11So I guess that if you're the favorite, you're the
- 17:13clear favorite.
- 17:14Speaker 3: Yeah, but I think that.
- 17:15Speaker 4: The Rams are pretty close, and I think the Lions.
- 17:21The Lions have probably the second most talent in the NFC.
- 17:24I just don't know about losing both coordinators. If the
- 17:27Lions were bringing everybody back from coordinators with the fifty three.
- 17:31Speaker 3: And a half, I would actually make them the favorite.
- 17:33Speaker 1: I'm looking at the conference. So the Eagles are plus
- 17:36three hundred, Detroit is plus four to seventy five, Washington
- 17:42is plus nine hundred. San fran is plus one thousand,
- 17:46the Packers are a thousand, the Rams are plus eleven hundred,
- 17:50Tampa plus thirteen hundred, So the Eagles are plus three hundred,
- 17:54the Lions are plus four to seventy five. Would we
- 17:57characterize that as a clear favorite?
- 18:00Speaker 3: Yeah? Absolutely.
- 18:02Speaker 4: And I'm really curious now about the Rams because I
- 18:05do feel like I'm on Rams Island. I don't know
- 18:08how they got any worse by getting DeVante Adams and
- 18:11losing Cooper Cup.
- 18:12Speaker 3: I feel like that makes them actually significantly better.
- 18:16Speaker 4: And I think they have the best coaching staff or
- 18:18right up there with anybody else in the conference or
- 18:21in the NFL. And I don't think they had too
- 18:24many losses that I look at and say that that's
- 18:26gonna hurt them. Michael Wait and those young pass rushers
- 18:30they had, Mike Verse, he was a beast.
- 18:32Speaker 3: Even against the Eagles, he was a beast. So is Fast.
- 18:36Speaker 4: I have a hard time picking the Rams. They are
- 18:37not going to be a good team. However, as you mentioned,
- 18:41they're not like they're not like right behind the Eagles
- 18:44in any kind of like favorite odds on for any sportsbook.
- 18:47Speaker 1: So oh, in fact, when I just read those off,
- 18:49we're the Rams plus twenty two hundred.
- 18:52Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't get it.
- 18:53Speaker 1: I think actually, sorry that was for that is actually
- 18:56their their odds are plus eleven hundred for the NFC
- 18:58twenty two hundreds for the Super Bowl.
- 19:01Speaker 3: Yeah that surprises me, but what do I know. I'm
- 19:04just a sports writer.
- 19:05Speaker 1: We are football at four here on the Sports Bass
- 19:07Live ninety seven three ESPN. Don't forget to download all
- 19:11the Inside the Birds podcasts for your listening pleasure as
- 19:15we get ready three weeks to uh equals Camp. By
- 19:19the way, we have a poll question up. You want
- 19:21to answer the pole question? Oh sure, big moment of
- 19:24the game. Who do you put up to the plate
- 19:27to get that hit? Is it Harper or Schwarber? Who
- 19:30do you trust more the hit?
- 19:32Speaker 3: Harper? Absolutely?
- 19:33Speaker 2: You Harper.
- 19:34Speaker 4: By the way, my answer to the lineup to debate
- 19:38that you you and Josh were going through is to
- 19:41sort of split the middle. I would say, if I'm
- 19:43facing a right hander, I would take Harper two, Schwarber
- 19:50three right, and then Turner leads off and then you
- 19:53combat bone forth. I mean, you can bat wherever like
- 19:55Hasias on. But then against left hand I'm sorry that yeah,
- 19:58against left handers, I would probably move Boom into the
- 20:01third hole and split, so Harper Boom Schwarber, And I
- 20:05know that that means Schwarber doesn't automatically get up.
- 20:08Speaker 3: But you're talking about having the.
- 20:10Speaker 4: Lead MLB leader and hits leading off, and then two
- 20:13guys in Boom and Harper are really high on base percentage.
- 20:18So like all likelihood, Schwarber will get up in the
- 20:21first inning because one of those three is probably gonna
- 20:24get on.
- 20:24Speaker 1: Base well, and if he gets up, it's generally going
- 20:26to be in an RBI situation exactly.
- 20:28Speaker 3: That's so I have no problem with him batting forth
- 20:31against lefties.
- 20:32Speaker 1: Well, they got Schwarber hitting two, Harper hitting three tonight.
- 20:36That's the way the Phillies went with the lineup. In
- 20:38Bryce Harper's return to the lineup, he is back for
- 20:42the Phills as they take on the Padres.
- 20:45Speaker 2: All right, Jeff, So I'm sor.
- 20:47Speaker 4: The only thing I think about that is, let's say,
- 20:48like Turner's steal a lot of bases, he's getting a
- 20:50lot of hits, he's on second.
- 20:52Speaker 3: If you want this is really.
- 20:53Speaker 4: Over analyzing it, over analytics, but Harper uses all fields.
- 20:57Schwarber is only going to hit the ball to right
- 21:00field right for the most part, sometimes home run the center.
- 21:03Speaker 3: Like, I'm thinking about moving this runner from second to.
- 21:05Speaker 4: Third, the guy who's hitting the ball to all that's
- 21:09why I want Swarber third.
- 21:10Speaker 3: Is that who said Schwarber is third behind?
- 21:12Speaker 2: No, Schwerber's hitting second tonight and Harper's hitting third.
- 21:15Speaker 3: Oh okay, so Swarber it would be behind her, so yes,
- 21:18so he could.
- 21:18Speaker 4: Move A fly ball would move Turner from second to third,
- 21:21whereas Harper is more likely to like line out to
- 21:23left field because he uses all fields and not be
- 21:25able to move that runner.
- 21:26Speaker 3: I don't know that's what we're thinking it, but.
- 21:27Speaker 1: Anyway, well, the one thing that intrigues me is the
- 21:31fact that Schwarber will now have the best protection he's
- 21:34ever had behind it. We've never seen him have Harper
- 21:36behind Shorebert. So now they're saying you have to pitch
- 21:39to Schwarber.
- 21:40Speaker 3: Absolutely, I like it. I think they're ready to take
- 21:42off here.
- 21:43Speaker 2: All right.
